I find it incredible that spending over €300 got me a room with bunk beds, dirty sheets, no toilet, no shower and no sink. The only reason don't give less than 1 star is that the breakfast was decent not great but decent. I would like to know what justification this hotel charges such a huge price and receive so little in return. As a business traveller who needs to be ready for a busy day of meetings, I really needed to not have to think about if I could use the shower when I needed it instead of waiting in the hallway with my business suit in hand so that I could get ready. It was a steep price for what was essentially a youth hostel experience.
We stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel had everything we needed. The rooms were a good size for 2 people, clean, comfy beds and decor was nice. For us, the location was just perfect - 7/11 literally a 30 second walk down the road (perfect for snacks and drinks) and a coop (a lot bigger with more choice than 7/11) 2 minutes away too. We were about a 15 minute walk from the main train station, 25 minute walk from Gamla Stan and a 5 minute walk from the Metro (so clean!!!). This was great as it gave us the option to walk/metro depending on time of the day and how tired we were! We also appreciated that the hotel is a little bit out of the way in a nice neighbourhood, there were lots of nice restaurants nearby (notably An Nam next street down to the left, great Vietnamese restaurant) and a few pubs/bars. We booked this hotel as part of a BA package as it was the best value for money and location, I would definitely recommend. Ps, great pub round the corner called Pitchers, they had a pool table and lots of screens for sport. First time also seeing and trying Pina Colada flavoured cider; it was amazing! The only negative was the drain in the shower wasn't quick enough for the water pressure so having a shower longer than 2 minutes left the bathroom floor quite wet. However, it wasn't a big issue as we had enough towels and they were changed every day of our stay! I don't know if this is an issue in just our room or others but it wasn't bad enough that we bothered reception with it.
The hotel is only OK, forget about high expectations. The breakfast was avegarge, with only one fresh fruit available per day, but have the traditional items of Scandinavian food. The space is small for the amount of guests. The room is average also, with tiny shower and minimum towels. No refrigerator or telephones inside the room. The location is OK, not so close to the tourist atractions. At least they have daily room cleaning.
Stayed here 2 nights during a business trip. I found it an OK hotel. Price - quality maybe a bit out of balance. The rooms in the side building are rather small but clean. They could do with some refurbishment, especially the bathrooms felt a bit stuffy. Unfortunately the ventilation of the bathroom kept me awake during two nights. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Hotel staff was helpful and polite. A little more cordiality would make you feel more welcome, though.
We absolutely loved it here. I was staying with my brother and friend in one room, which we were slightly worried about before coming, but it all worked out just fine. Check in was easy, the staff highly accommodating and friendly (packed breakfast for us to collect early in the morning on our departure day), tea and coffee in reception... The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds very comfortable. Even Sam's small little cabin bed suited him just fine. Breakfast was lovely. We loved the meatballs, juice, toast, pancakes, croissants...lovely stuff. The bacon was also great and bacon isn't always amazing at hotels. Location wise we found it fine to get around. There are a few restaurants nearby which are quire cheap and a 7 11 opposite, and a Coop 5 minutes away. We also loved the room with the pool table - we loved playing here and watching TV. Also on the TV we loved watching the Channel 5 because there were some great films such as Benjamin Button. Fantastic stay.
I choose this hotel because I was booking with airline points and it was the best value for those points. It's in a neighborhood of Stockholm that isn't touristy and I liked that aspect. It was within walking distance of the central train station/bus depot and near a few markets (Hötorget). There was one city bus (57) a few streets away on Sveavägen, which we were able to take directly to Gamlastan. As for the hotel itself, it was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and satisfying. I stayed for two nights. The staff were efficient. One thing is that the location might not be right for those with mobility issues. The hotel sits a bit awkwardly on a hill.
the single rooms on 1st floor in the main building are practical for solo travellers ; location is good (close to shopping area and close to subway, you can even walk to the old town or the main train station) ; breakfast is good Swedish breakfast (unfortunately they do not provide newspapers anymore :-( )
The hotel was located about a 20-minutes from the central train station but near a main drag with many stores and restaurants. There is a metro station two blocks away and a few parks nearby. The hotel is on a safe, quiet side street. There is a comfortable lobby/lounge with free tea. Staff was fairly friendly and the room was clean. There was a large twin bed, good wifi, desk, adequate lighting, a safe, tea kettle and notably, a fan. European hotels often don't provide AC or fans so I was thrilled with that. Price was good. I would stay again.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Kom Stockholm. Excellent choices for breakfast, Friendly and Helpful Staff, Spotlessly clean room and within walking distance of the main city centre area. Staff were able to recommend some nice restaurants in the immediate area. Will stay here again next time I am in Stockholm.
Very proffesional reception staff. The rooms were exceptionaly clean and comfortable. I slept like a baby. The location is great and with reach of everything you could need from food, to cinema to IT store and lots more
- Great location! A few minute walk to the metro stops. On a slight hill and the hotel is separated into 2 buildings. I stayed in the building separate to the main hotel lobby/breakfast room. - Very impressed by the room - it had a big flatscreen TV with a soundbar, tea/coffee and a kettle, a very powerful shower, mini fridge and a very comfy bed! - Facilities are good too, free tea and coffee around the hotel and a pool table in the building I was in. - Breakfast was ok, great if you like cold meats and bread but we were bored of the hot food by day 3 (meatballs, bacon, scrambled egg is all the hot food they have) but it was enough to fill us up. They do have pancakes though which were appreciated! - Check in and out was super easy, to checkout just put your key in a key box - Had to select our times for breakfast but it wasn't policed, we overslept one day and went to a later time it was completely fine and never too busy.
Great location. So convenient to public transportation, supermarket, restaurants and pubs. Walking distance to Old town. Superb staff. Probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Soooo much variety.
Average and basic, but very clean. The beds were quite comfortable. Room was clean and well kept with new towels and maid service each day. Breakfast is good and well presented. Staff are friendly and most have good English. Close to train and bus routes. We stayed here for 4 nights and overall found the location to be good for exploring and the hotel was satisfactory for our needs. New pool cues needed for the pool table!
Stayed in Room 403, a 2 Single Beds / Bunk Beds Room. PROS: The staff were friendly and accommodating - they allowed us to access our room before the 3:00pm check-in time and helped us heat up food from 7-Eleven (across the street) in their microwave. The room was clean and contained everything needed for a comfortable stay, including strong Wifi and a heated towel rack. The breakfast buffet starting at 7:30am was plentiful and hearty. While the selection was identical every day, there were so many different options that it never felt repetitive during the three nights we were there. The spacious lobby offered complimentary coffee, tea, and water 24/7. During the holiday season, guests could even indulge in free cookies and glögg in the lobby! The location is convenient if you plan to use the Stockholm T-bana to get around - it is only a 4-minute walk to the closest metro station, Rådmansgatan. CONS: The shower contained two shower heads - a rain shower head, which did not work at all, and a handheld shower head, which consistently fell down. One bunk bed was much taller than the other bunk bed. Given that the hotel is located on a hill and we were placed on the the first floor, outsiders could easily look down and peer inside our room unless our curtains were closed at all times. The gym was located in another building, not the main building where you check in.
Spent Hogmanay/New Year in Stockholm. Accommodation at Kom Hotel was great. Clean, comfortable room with excellent en suite facilities. Short walk into centre of the city from the hotel though there are public transport and taxis as alternatives. Very enjoyable stay.
Excellent hotel in a great local. We stayed in an annex which was modern, clean and secure. There was tea and coffee available free of charge. Also mulled wine and biscuits on one of the evenings. Staff were very helpful and friendly . Beds were so comfortable, with fridge, kettle, hairdryer and iron & ironing board in the room. The shower was large with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was great with plenty to chose from. This hotel has everything you need for a stay at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend. Don't be put off by the negative reviews like we almost were.
I spent 4 days in the hotel with family and friends. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is ok. The position Is close to metro and 20 minutes by walk to the center. The Gym area and sauna are open for the guest. Last but not least a billiard Is avaialable.
The positive things: Good location, 5 min walking from metro. Great breakfast, more choices than usual for vegans Friendly staff The linnen was clean Not so positive: Room is pretty dated and has carpet, which doesn't look clean at all. They made an effort to have nice decor but it's not enough to hide that it's all a bit worn and dirty. Security could be better. There is no lock on the inside of the door of the room. To get to the room, you have to pass 2 doors with a keycard, these were unlocked or even wide open on lots of occasions. I put a chair and bags in front of the door at night. You can also hear the locks of nearby doors opening, so this made me a bit more on edge, as it sounds as if someone is coming in your room. I did not sleep well at all (also because the bed is very soft, which I personally don't like). There is no refrigerator but there is a big ironing board and iron in the very small area that is supposed te be your ‘closet'. Don't need an iron, do need a refrigerator. There is no thermostat and it was very hot in the room. Had the window open whenever we were in the room, also at night. On the bed there is only linnen on the topper and nothing covering the side of the boxspring. There is very little room in the bathroom to put your stuff. The curtain is too small so you can not make the room dark at all. At night there is also some light that comes in. For reference: I stayed in room 518, overlooking the courtyard. It seems as if there are also newer rooms in a different hallway on this floor, I am not sure how many of the rooms are of this poor quality.
Worst worst in every way!!!!!! They don't know what service is at all!!! Very rude staff!!!! They have no security behavior/giving card to people not living in the room. Wrong booked room and we had to stay in a room with out service for a person sitting in a wheelchair!! We had booked for a family with dog and wheelchair and we didn't get that kind of room. And the cleaning persons where rude and had thoughts!!! We had got wrong type of room- not that one we booked!!!! Our family has been traveling a lot in our life all over the world and this hotel is worst of all places we have come to.
This property is in a great central location, only a short walk from the train station. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. But the real highlight was the extremely friendly and helpful reception staff who made our stay even better. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in central Stockholm.
We tried to find a mid price place to stay in central Stockholm and were not disappointed. While parking was extra and not in the hotel's own parking lot (full at the time of our visit) it was just a 5min walk away. The hotel was clean although the room windows could have been slightly bigger. Breakfast was good and busy both days we visited. The location is relatively central. We walked to the kings castle and the old town in c.25mins and got to see some interesting architecture on the way there. Recommended.
We arrived earlier and our room was ready so we checked in. We were having an issue with our EU credit card and we were given time to contact our bank to solve it. Most of the straff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel is in great location and everything is within walking distance! The thing that we didn't like was that the cleaning service was available every 3 nights and not daily.
I stayed 4 nights here, and I have mixed feelings about the property and the service. I got upgraded to a larger room, as the room I had booked didn't have a chair for the desk. That was a nice gesture that shows that they want to accommodate me. However the desk area is very small and uncomfortable to work at. I had to work full time during my stay. The room is ok. Huge minus for no electric sockets next to the bed, and no fridge in the room. Plus for comfortable bed, big TV and ChromeCast. The internet speed was usually great (150 MB/s or more), although dropping sometimes. After having lived in Thailand, I could identify that many thais are working here. They are very friendly, and always greet you when they see you. The other part of the staff did their best to not greet any guest, they didn't seem to pay attention to guests coming and going with their eyes always looking down behind the front desk. This isn't really a big deal for me personally, it's just a bit weird. I called down to the reception once, and I could hear the huge sigh when she answered the phone. It was like "omg why is someone calling". That didn't feel so friendly. Breakfast is very good, and Sakhon who works there is always friendly and smiling. Location is great, and overall it was a decent stay. Not the best, but not bad.
This hotel has got everything you need, from a great staff, delicious breakfast, great and comfortable rooms to a gym and even a lounge with tv and a pool table. One of the best things is also it's location. You can easily walk by foot to the city in less than 15 minutes or use the metro or bus which are both located at only few minutes from the hotel. There are also different kind of grocery stores nearby.
I had to leave PARK INN in SOLNA due to them shutting down due to COVID and Christmas. I found the BW KOM hotel was fairly close to my work in OSTERMALM. To my surprise the room is big, the bed is nice, the Breakfast is awesome and the gym is open every day/YMCA shares it but is not busy at all. I also can sign up to do my own laundry on 1st floor. It has everything I needed for a great deal. You can stay longterm for even cheaper if necessary. Which i may.
An inexpensive hotel, a 20 minute walk from the central station and transport to the airport. Friendly staff and rooms are big enough for a city hotel. A safe in the room, but no refrigerator. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, cleaning was only every third day, but you can put in a request for an extra cleaning. A breakfast was included in the room rate. The television wasn't working when I arrived, but after reporting, this was fixed the same day. There are two reasons why I can't give a higher score. Firstly, the hotel is not soundproof and I had very noisy neighbours above me. But more importantly, the Wi-Fi signal in my room (614) was so weak, that I couldn't use it at all. I could only get a reception in the lobby and in my room, I had to use 4G and data because the network kept being interrupted. When you advertise WiFi in the rooms, it should be there. In my case, it wasn't. This is an issue for me, so unfortunately I can't recommend this hotel or return to it, until this problem is solved.
I booked this hotel for a week initially as the price was so good and I read good reviews. I ended up extending my trip by another week, but I decided on booking an Airbnb apartment in the Old Town for the second week instead. I enjoyed my week at this hotel so much, I was a little sad to leave and go to the apartment, and wished I'd just booked the two weeks here. Long story short, the apartment was awful, unclean and a nightmare, so I ended up coming back to this hotel for the remainder of my second week and it's been absolutely wonderful. I had the best night's sleep when I came back here during the second week, it was heaven and I felt comfortable and relaxed again. The rooms and bedding are impeccable, the staff are always so friendly and kind, the included breakfast is fantastic and I honestly cannot fault this place— it's a bargain for what you get and I will 100% stay here again when I come back to Stockholm next year. Thank you BW Kom Hotel!
Loation is huge plus for this Hotel. Breakfast is really nice as well, as they claim. But rooms are pretty dingy. The bathrooms are in desperate need of upgrade. Bathrooms are so old it seems they cannot be cleaned. There is a wall to wall carpet in the room, I saw things lying on carpeted floor from previous guests- this says a lot about cleaning done in the rooms. I took a double room. It didnt feel it was clean at all. Good location & breakfast are not worth putting oneself through the feeling of how dirty the surroundings you sleep in are. Room had thin walls. I could clearly hear each time someone walked in the corridor, talked or opened & closed their room door. Reception staff was pretty ill mannered. They lady mnaging reception desk during the day is not only arrogant, shes totally uninterested in anything to do with customers. If she's in this kind of grumpy mood all the time, god help this hotel's future. This hotel is on my 'stay away from this place' list. They get 1 star from me only for the location & breakfast.
I stayed here twice in February the hotel is in a great location close to many restaurants etc and their breakfast is 5 out of 5 traditional Swedish, the rooms where fine and staff helpful, I will stay here again.
most impressive: the rich Swedish breakfast; the recently renovated single rooms on 5th floor are great: modern and functional furniture gives a spacious feeling; the location is very convenient - close to the subway and in walking distance to main train station and old town
Breakfast was rich in variety, there were different cold cuts, meatballs, jams, herring. It is possibe to have free coffee and tea in the lobby. Clean and cozy rooms. Hotel is in walking distance to city center. We didn't have to us public transport. Friendly and polite hotel staff.
Really in a very good location, near important points like the historic center. The room meets very well what was expected. The breakfast is really good, they claim that they have been rewarded for it, it is really worth it. You must pay for parking.
The room was clean and had a lot of facilities including a safe and an ironing board. There is no fridge or mini bar, mind, so if you buy some cheese or milk for you evening snack, make it a small portion. :) I was surprised that there was no window - there was a huge mirror-like surface that could be covered with a heavy curtain. Breakfast was really good - plenty of stuff to choose from. You could have your bacon and eggs, your cereals, or make yourself a nice salad. Or have them all at once. Snacks and glögg in the lobby and a cooler on the floor were a nice bonus.
Hotel itself didn't have air conditioning but provided fans if you were hot. Left the windows open but lots of noise from the street. Staff was very helpful and the main street was only 2 blocks away. Nice breakfast and we actually ate on the outdoor terrace. It's about $80 US from the airport. Get a price in advance. Hop on/ hop off buses a couple of blocks away.
This is a hotel near the Rådmansgatan T-bana (subway) stop, off on a side street. The lobby area is on the small size, and can become congested, but the rooms are very comfortable and have all the amenities, including a refrigerator, wide-screen television and coffee maker. The breakfast buffet was generous and the dining area pleasant. I have already made a reservation to stay there the next time I am in Stockholm.
Absolutely loved it! Excellent location. Centric, lively, food and shopping all around. Bus/train airport transfers to Arlanda AND Bromma just a short walk away. Great room, big as a barn and with a nice view of the Stockholm roofscape. A spacious sitting area with a cosy armchair under a stylish floor lamp. Iron cum ironing board. Water boiler with tea and coffee. Nice set of pillows. Bedside spotlights great for reading. Big TV (I mean, huge…). A bathroom with a heated floor adorned with Italian-type tiles. Superb. Great colour scheme all around. Huge breakfast included in the room rate – local traditional fare plus assorted sausages, ham and cheeses. Free water from a dispenser in the corridor. Sauna in the basement (of course). A gym. Fair price. Downsides are few and in my view have little effect on the overall value-for-money. Bed way too soft for my taste. A grand total of four international channels in the TV (two news, one sports and Discovery), plus one that in the evening shows series and movies in English. Plenty of space for hanging clothes up but as good as no shelves. Still, all in all, just about perfect.
Location if arrived by subway, need to walk around 10 min. Coop supermarket and 7-11 just around the corner. Breakfast was quite nice with variety of choice. Room was quite big compare to other hotel but the bathroom especially the shower area slight small. Overall, recommended for a budget stay. Free flow of coffee and tea at lounge area.
Great hotel to stay at. 20 minutes walk to Arlanda Express station and easy access to shopping areas and old town. Hotel has varied breakfast including herring and roe. Also cooked meats cheeses and pastries. Gym is great and sauna (single sex) was quiet. Coffee is available in rooms and lounge. Our annex, next to the hotel had a lounge and free pool table. We would stay again.
We booked this hotel for its location as a central Stockholm point in a nice neighbourhood. It is within walking distance of many central areas and the tube station is on the next road. When arriving to the hotel, the outside looks very gloomy and the reception area is small though the reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. Once in our room we found it to be large and well decorated with very comfortable beds. Even though the weather was warm outside, the room remained cool with the help of a fan. The only downside with the room was that the bathroom could do with a makeover, otherwise the room was decent enough. Breakfast was OK. There was a good choice though sadly some of the items were not the best quality and I felt that the cheapest option was chosen. If the breakfast was a separate payment option, I wouldn't purchase it again. In regard to room comfort and location, I would consider staying again as a family though as a couple, I would probably choose somewhere else.
We stayed here for 4 nights in September as we travelled through Europe. Reception staff always seemed friendly enough. One of the elevators smelt of urine at one stage but that is clearly the fault of a patron, not the hotel. The hotel room itself is very small and claustrophobic. They have placed a mirror on the wall (underneath a window) to give the appearance of more space. Doesn't work. The breakfast was good though. Would I return? I'd probably pay for a better hotel next time BUT, if I am on a budget and returning to Stockholm, then yes, I would return. There is also no air con in the hotel so be warned, it is warm inside.
The hotel is about 15 minutes from downtown/Royal Palace. The breakfast was not bad at all, assorted meats, cheeses, breads, coffee and juices. There is a gym and small sauna on the bottom level of the hotel. The front desk staff was very nice and all spoke excellent english. The room I had was very small, about the size of a large walk in closet. The bathroom shower was tiny. I am 5'6 and if you are any bigger you may not fit into the shower stall. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood and there are plenty of restaurants near the hotel.
The Kom was easy to get to. We were on a cruise and used Uber to take us to the hotel. That worked very well. Greeted very nicely. We were early but they had a very nice room ready for us. Lots of security features as well. Though never felt uncomfortable. The room was great. No A/C but fans and it was fine. The breakfast was fantastic and more then enough choices. Close to transportation to get around town and was easy. lots of shopping close by.Would for sure stay there again when in Stockholm.
I experienced a very unpleasant situation at this hotel. Despite I booked a paid a regular room with window, since I arrived late night they placed me in a room without windows stating that there was no choice and the hotel was fully booked. I had to spend a lot of calls and energies to move to another room the day after...and I got a superior one I think to compensate. this is not the way it works...customers MUST be respected. When I complained at the reception they told me I should had to specify my request. WHY??? If you have cheaper room with no windows and I pay a regular one more expensive WHY do I have to specify that I don't want to stay in a grave?
The hotel was at an extremely nice place, super close to a metro station and surrounded by nice restaurants. The breakfast was also great. The only thing that wasn't great was the cleaning of the room. The trash wasn't picked up and my pajamas were moved from the bed to other parts of the room two days in a roll which was a bit odd. Other than that, had a great experience.
First reason of choosing this hotel for a city break was the good and safe location and second is the brand chain BW . We booked a triple room which was a little bit small for 3 ladies luggage, also the bathroom and wardrobe very minimalist, but very clean and correct service daily. I suppose the double room is ok for 2 persons. Not many amenities in bathroom, no refrigerator in the room. Breakfast is a nice surprise and we found the Ikea style for self service . Take your room card for use it to enter the breakfast area! We found Stockholm very offering and our great expectations were accomplished, they provide quality first -from coffees to fine dining or museums. Taxi service and Uber with some problems receiving payment confirmation . And you can't pay nothing cash!
Best breakfast ever! Room was small but very well organized and had everything needed. Very good sound proofing and ventilation Checkin and checkout were quick and easy. Provided a secure place to leave luggage when waiting for travel options
Hotel is nearby city centre and the free breakfast is second to none. Fitness gym is the best I've ever been to one since it had all gym and cardio equipment as well as a basketball gym. Best value in town! However, the room where I was staying at there was a light continuous tapping sound which I didn't report since I thought it might had to do with the AC system.
We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved it! The room was spacious and clean with a nice sized bathroom, and the free breakfast was incredible with a good variety of food choices that were plentiful and delicious! The location was great in close proximity to transit and was within walking distance to several places to eat. You can even have a glass of wine or a cocktail prepared by the desk staff! Speaking of the staff, they were all very friendly and helpful with directions to places we wanted to see, and offering advice of what to visit during Midsummer Days (a celebration of the summer solstice). I would definitely stay here again, should I be so fortunate to visit Stockholm again.
We were very happy with this hotel. First, the staff at reception are very helpful, professional, and very friendly. The location is good and not too far from most places. We stayed at the newer annex. Wooden floors and very nice beddings and comfortable beds. Very good value for money.
Great location, extremely friendly & helpful staff, the room was a perfect size! The only problem was the heat in the room & I was unsure how to change the settings. Other than that, it was a great place to stay & I have no problem recommending it to others!
Showstopper for this hotel is the noise. Doors are badly isolated and we can hear doors of other rooms slaming, and people speaking (not loudly) in the corridor. But also, it is a bit tired. Not much of a reception, not much of a breakfast place that looks like a cantine with trolleys where to put your trays when done ! Furniture / deco in the rooms not great. Not worth it.
Spent six nights at this hotel, the room was spacious and clean. The young ladies at reception were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good although the breakfast room can fill up quickly. There is great enjoyment in watching guests trying to enter the breakfast room without their room keycard. The location is a short walk to the nearest underground and only two stops from the Central Station. I hope to be able to stay there again soon!
For me, the location was perfect. It was a few minutes walk from the office I was working in that week and close enough to plenty of little grocery stores and restaurants. This is a very basic hotel though. The room was tiny, bordering on claustrophobic and didn't have much in the way of amenities. Great for a place to lay your head, but don't expect much more. Good, as long as you get a good price.
Although a little way from the centre we found this hotel excellent, and the staff were so helpful. One minor issue was the heat in the rooms, there is no A/C tho the room had an electric fan, and even with the windows open it was hot. Otherwise we had no complaints, the room was well appointed with usual tv, plus a safe, hairdryer, iron and board, kettle etc. We liked the walk in shower, spacious and with 2 shower options. The breakfasts were excellent, a great variety of good quality foods, I was surprised tho there was no pickled herring. All credit especially to the reception staff, they were always friendly and helped us so much, booking taxis, phoning restaurant and generally giving us advice. The option of free tea and coffee in the reception area was nice, and we took advantage of the early check out breakfast, and it was tasty and much appreciated.
We got a very small room at the Kom. This was a good bit north of where we wanted to be, but you need to make compromises if you don't want to bankrupt yourself in Sweden. The hotel room was comfortable, everything worked well, and the desk staff friendly. Very nice breakfast. Excellent WiFi. The gym on the 1st/2nd floor is terrific with super high quality German Gym80 equipment and Swedish Eleiko weights...but hours are limited. The hotel is close to a number of restaurants and shopping. The hotel lobby is welcoming, too. The spring water in the hallways was a nice touch. About the room: There is no A/C, at least in our room...so if you go in the summertime, just be warned.
Our hotel room when is a good size for European standards. The nearest metro stop was approximately three blocks. The front desk sells a 24 hour and 72 hour metro cards. The free breakfast was amazing with everything from crepes rolls lunch meats and cheeses , fruit, eggs, bacon, and more. We were on the fourth floor toward the street if you open your window it can get very noisy outside. I would stay here again it was a great value
Centrally located hotel with all the advantages as such. The room was really good even though it is modest furnitured and decorated. You've got what you need, still I miss a fridge, a chair and a real cupboard. Unless you plan to stay in your room the entire stay, this is a good starting point for exploring Stockholm. The beds are really comfortable and I slept like a baby. The room was clean and tidy and the staff is relaxed and helpful. Any downsides? The bathroom is just a little too small and for a family of four, multitasking can be a challenge. A big problem? No, planning is the solution. Also if you expect a fabulous view, this will not happen, since the size and location of the windows are somewhat odd. On the other hand, there is no way someone in the opposite building can watch you dancing. Breakfast is like breakfasts at any other hotel and like any other hotel, it gets crowded in rush hours. All in all, I am very satisfied with my stay and I would definitely come back another time.
had booked a boat hotel which was awful and Best Western made us really welcome at short notice - clean warm room with fab beds and bathroom facilities never thought I'll take that for granted but after disastrous booking over the moon. staff cared and were lovely. many thanks for the fab stay - breakfast was great!
A perfect hotel for a family visiting Stockholm. Walking distance to all interesting parts of the city. Several restaurants in the neighborhood and easy to travel with bus or subway when needed. The hotel was good with a nice reception/lobby. It was nice to just sit in the lobby drinking the or coffee. Rooms were good, even though it lacked some good windows. The breakfast was one of the best we have had at any hotel for a long time. There is sauna and gym at the hotel. The only disappointment was the WiFi, it needs to improve.
Great location - next to metro and close to Stockholm central Sumptuous breakfast Easy access from main road Lot of restaurants around Friendly staff Free flowing aromatic coffee in the lounge Family rooms. Though the room size could have been little bigger, but no complaints.
This is a great inexpensive hotel The exterior does not do the hotel any favours as the interior is great Rooms and bathroom was 1st class Breakfast excellent and service was faultless Thank you I would stay again
Stockholm is expensive, so this hotel would be considered good for budget. It is in a good location that means you can explore the city easily. The staff were friendly in the main and the breakfast was very good offering a lot of variety. There is also a very well equipped gym on site with a sauna and good changing rooms. The family room we stayed in was fairly basic and tired, making it modest in comfort. Our room was at the front of the hotel and due to the room being quite hot we had to open the windows. During the three nights we stayed there was a cacophony of sound and shouting from the street which meant we didn't sleep well (please be aware I think this was the same person and not indicative of Stockholm) There was also building work being carried out during the day. Stockholm is a wonderful city, although I can't say I'd stay here again. I think it would work for a single night business trip but didn't seem particularly well suited for families.
We have spent three nights at this hotel with friends. It is in a good distance from the old town (1,3 khm), easy to walk to and from all day. Rooms was small but very clean. Personnel was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had excellent choices and very good quality. Internet was good all day.
We liked all! Excellent location - 2 minutes to the Radmansgatan metro station, 10-15 min to the Hotorget metro station, 15-20 min to the T-Centralen metro station and 20 min to the Cityterminalen (buss station) walking distance, great tasty breakfast, clean and cozy room
Luckily I got a room on one of the newly renovated floors in the main building. The room was fresh and functional and had both fridge and coffee-making amenities, the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, there was still a slight smell of paint and the windows have not been renewed, which means they are not sound-proof. The breakfast is good with many choices.
It was my first time with Best Western. It is conveniently located. They have well equipped gym opened long hours. Nice and helpful staff. I was pleased with fast internet. Very helpful especially when on business. Keep it up!
Great, centrally located Hotel within easy walking distance to the main attractions. Initially a little tricky to find as some roads marked on the map are actually pedestrian steps! Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good and constantly replenished. The free Glogg and Pepperkaken and teas and coffees in the foyer were much appreciated every evening! The room was very pleasant and the bed was so comfortable it was difficult to get up each morning! There were two lifts so it was easy to get from the foyer to any floor.A great base from which to explore Stockholm and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
This hotel is a bit torn, but great situated. Close to Odenplan where the trains get i straight from Sth airport. If you're into training, there's an outstanding hotel gym in coop with KFUM. Breakfast is good, nothing special bit ok. It's walking distance to city centre, good restaurants in the neighbourhood and good coffeeshop just down the street. Rooms quite small and not the most fancy ones, but ok. Beds good! Good value for money.
I was here for a 3-days holiday with my friend in a triple room: it's a very good hotel, non so far from city center. It has very good and clean rooms; for 3 people the room was spacious, maybe not so cheap (considering breakfast not included).
We came to Stockholm for a weekend and chose this hotel. And liked it very much. We arrived late in the evening, and had a fast check-in. Our room was comfortable enough for 3 adults, without any sounfs heard from the neighbours. The breakfast offered a big choice of food, in two days I didn't try all of them. The metro station is very close. But it is not always necessary, as the centre is quite reachable by walking. After we checked out we could leave our bags in special room without any problem. If we decide to come to Stockholm again, I wouldn't mind to stay in this hotel again.
We were a family of 4 and we stay at the hotel for 3 nights. We were very surprised by the warm crew who also let us check in and enter the room before 15:00. The breakfast was great and the food always refilled. The hotel have a pool table the can be used freely by the guest, we finish every evening with a game. Comfortable lobby. Free water and coffee. Great WiFi connection. The only downside I found was the bathroom that was poorly design and because we were a family we had also a sofa bed which I find uncomfortable. Because of the other plus's I will give the hotel a 5 stars.
We arrived at 9 AM after leaving our cruise ship for good at the port. Then we left our luggage in their storage room (unsurprisingly our room wasn't ready so early), and used the opportunity in the hours before we could go into our room to see Stockholm. A few minutes walk away is Sveavagen street, a pedestrian street that goes through the heart of Stockholm, ending on Gamla Stan island, a long street which is like an endless mall of stores and restaurants. This gave us a good experience of Stockholm (besides the 4-hour tour of the city we told the day before). My wife and I very much enjoyed our hours of walking this street. We had lunch in a McDonald's restaurant, and bought some things at its shops. By noon this street became much crowded, showing that it enjoys great popularity among the people of Stockholm. We saw several quite colorful characters there, including a gay queen in a cute skirt, a burly man with a beard. The buffet breakfast provided without charge to customers was great, loaded up with foods. By 8 or 9 AM guests nearly filled the rooms of the place, not passing up their opportunity of going to this worthwhile feast. I thought this buffet, and its location near Sveavage the outstanding features of this hotel, Otherwise, this was an averagely-good, satisfactory hotel. I was surprised that others here reported they found they had bunk beds when they arrived. In fact, in our case, perhaps because we had to wait so long for our room, our room was upgraded from what it would have been, and we had a large room that was fine. When I asked the woman who worked at the reception desk what the word KOM in the name of their hotel meant, she said it meant "man and women." --If she wasn't putting me on.
Thinking we were getting a twin share room as per tour package agreement,we checked in and were given a budget ground floor room with pull down single bunk beds off the wall.We were told that was all our package covered.Paid and extra SEK400 to upgrade to a standard room.In the room we found a snuff box on the floor with used snuff in it.We were then told we wouldn't have a room the next day as they were fully booked out.Checked again the next morning as advised by the front desk twice to see if there were any vacancies which their weren't.To summarise the staff were most unhelpful at all stages and were told inconsistent stories each time.I have never stayed at a hotel were the staff couldn't give crap. Spent our holiday time organizing another hotel for the day, and spoilt our Stockholm stay no end.The front desk guy who apparently was smurking about our situation should consider a career out of customer service.
Having stayed in more than 30 hotels this year, this one was one of the best. Great district, close to railway station and main attractions, clean, even very clean, free water, coffee and tea in the lobby. And special thanks goes for Breakfast. Variety of local specialties is so delightful !
We were disappointed with this hotel. On the upside, the hotel is reasonably central and the room and bed was comfortable. On the downside the breakfast facilities were inadequate given the number of guests. Breakfast ended at 9.30am - very early if you are staying here on a break/holiday, as a result the place was completely mobbed, with a lot of food items running out - noticed several fellow guests asking staff for items that had disappeared. There was nowhere to sit down when we arrived and it was all a bit fraught. Can do without this kind of stress so wouldn't book stay again.
Our family room was clean and reasonably sized with comfortable beds. A good, powerful shower in the bathroom. Best feature of the hotel was the breakfast which had a wide selection of foods. We really appreciated the friendly welcome on arrival. The reception staff asked about our trip - and on hearing that it was the end of our holiday, suggested we print out flight boarding cards in the lobby. We would have forgotten otherwise, so really appreciated the reminder! Thank you.
Very comfortable and clean. TV rather limited for this North American anglo (adding CNN International to the BBC outlet would have been welcome). Bed were comfortable and the reading light very good. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety and was very good. We were in a separate, adjacent building which was only a minor inconvenience. Wifi had seamless access and a strong bandwidth. A short walk from Radmansgaten Metro station which is two stops to the T-Centralen (central station) and three stops to Gamla Stan (Old Town). Lots of restaurants within several short blocks. A 10 minute walk to the main shopping street, Drottningggatten.
Great hotel, nice and spacious rooms and good breakfast as well. Very convenient location. Short 15 min walk into the centre of the old town, or around the corner from the metro stop which takes you anywhere you need to be very quickly. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Nice and functional! does it job and is well worth the money if a bit old. Very nice and helpful staff that does everything they can to make your stay as good as possible. Absolutely recommended and good location!
six minutes wailking distance from drotingatan st. good and genrous breakfast. soft beds. nice stuf. good wifi. jim. in the room: safe, tea pot and iron. no air condition but windows can be opened for a brees.
NICE AND GOOD HOTEL, WELL LOCATED, CONFORTABLE BEDS, GOOD BREAKFAST, GOOD PRICE, NEAR BUS AND TRAIN STATION, I would recomend it because it is near of the city centre, the atmosphere is nice and the workers and nice and helpful.
What a sweat box. Like trying to sleep in a sauna. Asked the Front desk for a solution and they offered a fan. This fan was a joke, plus all it did was move the hot air around. I had to stick the hotel pen into the window for it to stay open, to at least get a little bit of outside air... This place is stuffy and no air circulation what so ever anywhere. It might be warm in the winter, but horribly hot in the summer.
Great staff, good breakfast. The hotel is a few minutes away from a COOP supermarket and the 7eleven is just around the corner. Many restaurants are a few minutes walk away. The metro is also pretty close and only one station away from centrale and 2 stations from Gamla Stan,
Good value and location but it's an old hotel. Breakfast spread is excellent but the rooms need to be redone, seem a bit old and stuffy. I would steer clear of the budget rooms on the lobby floor since there isn't enough sunlight.
Very brief stay in Stockholm for a conference. PROS: The staff were extremely kind and welcoming. They were very helpful with all questions I had. The location is perfect, 3-4 min walk to train station. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Good value for money. CON: I woke up with an engorged tick on my pillow on day of checkout. Tick being in the bed has been mentioned by someone else in the past too. Check your beds carefully, you don't want Lyme disease.
Nice location. Friendly staff. Able to walk to most areas. Trams and boats easy to use. Hotel able to sell tram/metro tickets. Rooms small, but clean. No air conditioning. Large bottled water dispenser on each floor. Great breakfast - large selection.
The hotel location is good. We booked a room for three, the sofa bed is smaller than a single bed size but it's comfortable. Walking distance (about 15 minutes) to the shops. There's a nice asian restaurant near the hotel. Will suggest to catch a taxi from the airport as the hotel is a bit tricky to find. We are happy to stay there, because we didn't expect much too. :)
Great hotel. Very good value for money. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Best thing has to be the breakfast. Amazing pancakes. Very good location, close to everything in the city centre. Highly recommended.
We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The location of the hotel is great, in the center just 5 min walk from the Karlaplan metro station. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good enough and free coffee and fruits were available in the lobby during a day. We enjoyed our stay.
This is an excellent hotel and could easily pass as a 4* hotel given the facilities and fit of the rooms. Me and my wife liked the breakfast selection. Plenty of choice with a Swedish spin. We were given a room on the top floor so nice and quiet, thanks. Overall a good choice for a first stay in the Swedish capitol. Well located and close to several bars and restaurants. We liked the free tea and coffee in Reception and made good use of it. Very friendly staff with a warm welcome. Highly recommended!
Lower cost hotel, easy walking throughout Stockholm central business and to Old Town. I was there on business, work space on the economic side - but to be expected at price. Perfectly functional breakfast included in room rate.
Smart people running this hotel, catering for tourists and business travelers at the same time. Cosy atmosphere fitting both, nice facilities, helpful staff, roomy rooms, quality breakfast with ample choices. Will return if possible.
We stayed here for one night one our way home from a trip to Kiruna. It was or wedding anniversary and the hotel kindly put a little hamper in our room and upgraded us to say congratulations. It was a welcome suspense after staying in a wilderness camp prior. The room was lovely and a good size. Breakfast was really good also and plenty of choice. It's about a 15 min walk from the central station and close to the centre. Would recommend
Great location, stroll into downtown Stockholm. We stayed in annex, next door to main hotel as was very quiet. Good facilities sauna gym and great breakfast. Ideal hotel for city break. Staff friendly.
This isn't an expensive hotel so it's natural to go in with low expectations - you get what you pay for - but it's actually fine. Okay, the rooms are hardly luxurious but they're smart and comfy. The large breakfast buffet and free hot drinks all day are very welcome in a city that can be expensive. Then there's the large and well-equipped gym (not used I'm ashamed to say) and the location is great for most of the main sights, being walkable if not quite on their doorstep.
The location is v.good 4 min walking from the metro station (Radmansgatan). Friendly and helpful staff, Rooms are very nice and stylish, Breakfast is really good, they have Sauna, GYM, Pool table,I recommend it and definitely will come back
Travelling with teenagers can be full of small logistical problems. The Best Western Hotel was extremely accommodating. Lost items were returned, teens were allowed to be teens, charging stations and fitness rooms were perfect for their needs. The location was suitable for our attendance at the SIS MUN, having three to a room meant the cost was similar to a hostel. The included breakfast was delicious, although they perhaps need more choice for celiac sufferers. Personally I loved the magazines in the room and my ballerina room was admired by the girls traveling with me. All in all a great experience.
We came to this hotel over New Year. The price was very reasonable for the area and hospitality of staff was wonderful. The rooms were average and what you would expect but beyond this I can really fault it. With cookies everyday at the front desk, a great breakfast with a huge range and all well cooked to the GYM which is the best GYM I have ever had at a hotel. I would recommend this place to everyone and would like to return.
I had street view room the room was clean, good wifi, safe box, no minibar and the large window was a mirror. The staff was very helpful and the lobby was spacious and well serviced. It was a warm stay.
Booked this hotel randomly and it has been a good surprise. Well located in the center of Stockholm and during my stay I really enjoyed everything from the arrival to the departure. The reception has always been helping me for every kind of needs. On the other hanf since it is a Best Western the breakfast - which was Ok- must include also Cappuccino or Espresso on the buffet. This is my opinion but it wasn't a big problem. The room was nice as well. if I'm going back to Stockholm I would come back.
Arrived at the hotel in a Hire car, that I left outside. Asked the receptionist for access to the Car Park and was advised to check in first. This meant going back to the car for my passport to check in, and pay for parking. Asked If I could do this after parking and was advised NO. Rooms are very basic, and small. Chairs old and a small bathroom. Breakfast was really poor. Lots of choice but powder Orange Juice, cold bacon, and poor quality meats. The bar area is a receptionist serving bottled beers. The cup of tea I had was ok though. Will not be coming back and felt ripped off
Great hotel, based on location, room and staff. We were able to check in early. Staff were very helpful. When we checked out we were waiting for an 11pm bus in the evening. We were invited by staff to make use of the foyer, gym and sauna as our living area until our departure. The foyer is large with comfortable couches, many books, magazines, wifi, free hot drinks and water. Two computers are available for free use, as is a printer. There was a large charging port for mobiles and devices (also free to use). Room was comfortable. Large TV.
Ok for 4 in a room it was a bit tight but that is the only minor moan. The price was very good, the breakfast amazing, the staff were very hospitable, the rooms were spotless and the gym with basketball court amazing. It is a great location and really it is an amazing place much better than I could have hoped for
The hotel is actually located off the main street just up two blocks on a hill. The metro station is about four blocks away so it is convenient to the hotel. The outside appearance of the hotel blends in with the other buildings, and if it wasn't for the large Best Western sign, it would easily be missed. The hotel itself is actually comprised of two buildings. My room was in the :other: building so I did have to go to the main building for breakfast. The breakfast is included, and it is probably one of the best buffet breakfasts I have had in Europe. My room was a single, and it was very spacious. The staff was helpful and with their assistance. I was able to go everywhere to see those museums and other sights as I had planned. The price for this hotel was most reasonable for Stockholm.
Easy access to restaurants and public transportation. Subway and multiple busses are less than 5 minutes away and make it easy to go in town and back very quickly. Breakfast is in main building, as well as lounge area (with coffee, hot chocolat, hot wine during Christmas season), which is great if your room is in the main building.
Well equiped room with a large TV screen. Warm welcome by the reception. Breakfast having a variety of items to choose from. Free coffee, tea, chocolate at the reception hall. Fairly well located. Reasonably priced for all the facilities.
Excellent hotel with excellent facilities, good service, patient and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone if you want a clean and decent place to stay. Great location as it is about 15 min walk from the central station and near to the shopping district
I traveled to Stockholm with my family for Christmas and I stayed in this 3-stars-hotel for 2 nights. The outside of the hotel isn't the best but it fits perfectly with the environment. We booked a standard room which was very nice, trendy and classy. I could even pass as a 4-stars-hotel for the rooms. The bed is very nice and there's a big TV. The only thing is that there's only a super small window which you can only open halfway. But other than that the room was very neat and clean. But in comparaison, the bathroom was pretty bad. In fact, entering the bathroom seemed like entering a new hotel. The shower is super small and you kinda put water everywhere showering. The floor and the walls were dirty. The breakfast on the other hand is very nice. A lot of choice, a lot of different tables to sit and a nice vibe. The staff is also very nice and helpful. They speak English very well. If you turn left and left again when you leave the hotel you will find a Coop (supermarket/grocery store) which closes at 11pm. A little further you can also find some nice restaurants. Overall we had a nice time in this hotel. I would rate it a 7,5/10.
Good location, near Hötorget and underground, reasonable price to familyroom, bathroom needs renovation and a bit small room for breakfast, when hotel was crowded, but friendly staff, clen room and nice bed to sleep. Nice restaurants nearby. Value for money.
The hotel is located very closed to all the new shopping center and walkable distance to the old town to see the Royal Palace and museum. The room is clean, and functional, close to metro station, and many close by restaurants. There are 7-Eleven store across the street, so you can get some snack and water for the room. I should note there is no microwave nor refrigerator in the room, but you can make coffee and tea if you don't like to go to front desk. There is a tea/coffee/hot chocolate station near the elevator, so it was nice.
We stayed six nights at Hotel Kom at the outset of a three-week Nordic trip and absolutely loved it. Arriving red-eyed and rumpled from DC via Reykjavik, we were too early to check into our room. However, we weren't too late to buy breakfast; and that made the day. That morning, as on the mornings that followed, we partook of a buffet meal with options including Swedish pancakes and lingonberries; scrambled eggs; superb bacon and meatballs; several kinds of muesli; yogurt; cheeses; fresh fruit and veggies; and incredible house-made breads. Rooms at the Kom -- including family-size ones -- are fairly small. But ours was clean and quiet, with a good shower. The only issue was that, sans a/c, it was unusually warm. But a fan helped counter that. Beyond the show-stopping breakfast, the two things that would bring us back to Hotel Kom in a heartbeat were the staff and the fitness facility. In Scandinavia, serving hotel guests is truly a fine art; and Kom's English-speaking staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The basement fitness center -- a branch of Sweden's YMCA -- was a fully equipped gym with state-of-the-art equipment and saunas. The standard American "fitness room," with aging or broken equipment, pales by comparison! All in all, a highly recommended hotel. Book early!
the rooms were nice, the gym is also realy good, and the crew is really really nice, even one of the workers there went ahead and brought me something that i forgot from a museum not far away from the hotel, without me asking.
Stayed here recently for a few nights and was delighted with the hotel. Free upgrade, nice spacious room, big choice for breakfast and a good lobby with complimentary hot drinks and computers to use are just a few of the reasons I enjoyed the stay. The location is excellent and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Stockholm.
Recently stayed here with my wife and daughter for a five night break. My daughter's room was up-graded from single to a double at no charge. Hotel is in great location close city centre but not on a busy street. Hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast too. Hotel also has a nice lobby with hot drinks machine (complimentary).Would definitely stay here again if returning to Stockholm.
This is a hotel I return to on regular basis due to the location and the access to the fantastic fitness center. The rooms, espicially the bathrooms would need a face lift and the breakfast buffé would need some more space (usually crowdy) but otherwise this is a nice hotel.
I have chosen this hotel for its strategic position. It's really excellent! Only 15 minutes walk from the city center, the Roayl Palace and Gamla Stan. Not only: very close to lots of restaurants, pubs, supermarkets! Very comfortable room, spacious and clean; very good breakfast, with wide choice of sweet and salad proposals; very kind personnel at the reception. Travelled from Aug. 18-25. Thank you very much!
This hotel is located in the heart of Stockholm in walking distance to the streets full of shops, old town and all the main attractions in Stockholm. The rooms are as advertised very comfortable and modern with a multi-channel tv, kettle and excellent wifi connection. The buffet breakfast had a wide selection of genuine food and drinks. Overall the hotel was very comfortable especially the lounge/reception area which is equipped with sofas, a touch screen table and a heavenly coffee machine for all residents. The staff were very polite and helpful and could speak English very fluently. Highly recommended !
The hotel is located in the heart of stockholm, and we used to go everywhere by walk. Conveniently close to clubs and pubs, and the main shopping street. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Loved the free hot beverage dispenser at the lobby (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc), as well as the tea and coffee facilities in the room. Very cosy room with comfortable beds. The room TV had several american channels with good movies and shows. Breakfast was glorious.... ranging from pancakes, croissants, cakes and other sweet delicacies with home made jams as well as bread, eggs, and other savoury items. We wanted to visit the sauna but had no time as our day was packed but will make sure to visit another time. Till I go back to Sweden :)
Great location close to City Centre and a short walk from Gamla Stan. Many good restaurants in hotel's close proximity. On arrival we were upgraded to a family room at no extra cost. Our room was well sized and had all the facilities one should normally expect for this class of hotel. Breakfast was included in room rate and was very good with a great and varied selection.Reception staff were friendly and very helpful in answering our queries throughout our visit. I have no hesitation in recommending this middle range priced hotel for a city break in the Swedish capital.
I arrived at this hotel from the nearby T Bana station, only a few minutes away and only two stops from central Stockholm. I had my route mapped out luckily, as without it, the hotel could be difficult to find the first time. The hotel is in an area with plenty of restaurants and bars. The staff were pleasant and helpful. As a solo traveller, I booked and was given a single bed room, which had everything that I needed. It did have an opening window, but unfortunately the smell from the smokers outside the hotel entrance below often polluted the fresh air. Wifi was free and of good quality for my needs. The breakfast buffet had plenty of range. The free papers and coffee in the foyer were appreciated.
The service is nice, the breakfast can be good, but the warm buffet was always cold, there were enough places to sit. free water and coffee in hotel. There were hairs in the bathroom (at first usage).
Stayed here with my family recently. The 4 of us in a room with 2 double beds. The room was ok size; very clean. The hotel is in the same building as a gym so guests have access to a really nice facility. I was able to buy a 72-hour transportation pass at the front desk which was very helpful. They also have a luggage storage room that allowed us to explore Stockholm for a few extra hours before we left town. Front desk staff was very friendly and spoke English.
nice staff, very welcoming. hotel is good decent 3 stars, beds are good. breakfast nice. nothing negative to say. i stay in hotels a lot, this one does not stand out but was a good solid value for money. the beds in the hostel are good too. good choice for stockholm, 20 mins walk to the old town
Good location about 10 minute walk to Gamla Stan. Close to T station which gives access to all of Stockholm. Free tea and coffee, good wi-fi and friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast with a wide choice which is replenished regularly. Rooms are a good size, clean but looking a little tired. Recommended.
Three night stay. Fantastic location, though challenging to find after leaving the T station for the first time. Where you think the numbers should be has no bearing on where it actually is. Look for the church spire and head towards that if you are unsure. Room is clean and the ability to open the windows is a huge plus. Delightful breeze all night makes for good sleeping. Well appointed breakfast is a great start to the day. Desk staff members are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.
Close to the central train station with excellent service and help from staff members. The room was a bit basic but nicely set out, seemed to have been recently refurbished. The breakfast was included in the booking and was well done by the hotel, with a large choice of breakfast items available, all regularly refreshed by the staff and abundant for all the hotel patrons alike. There was a wide variety of foods for everyone. I enjoyed their Crepes. They have a play room available for children in the adjacent building that has a blow up bouncy castle, arcade games, books and toys, crayons and a white board for drawing. This was a popular place for our three year old, he loved being able to play and explore this room. There is also a pool table available and a coffee machine for hotel patrons. It was unfortunately abused by some other hotel patron's children that let them run wild in the hotel play room, throwing themselves at the bouncy castle and up ending the thing so they could land on each other from a distance. None of their parents in sight....bad for other children that are smaller and possibly injured by their silly antics. One boy came into the room when there were two toddlers on the bouncy castle and tipped it, behaviour he continued later when he was in the room with his sister. Because it is in a different building staff can't really police the room so I wouldn't recommend letting your children attend alone, some children get a bit silly unsupervised. The main hotel lobby has a coffee machine that also does hot chocolate (not a fan of coffee) and natural slushees (blackcurrant and orange) available for children if they would like, free of charge. There is a gym and a basketball court available for patrons use, and a cafe that I never managed to see. The wifi was excellent, fast and very reliable. Not all hotels can say this.... House keeping was a little odd sometimes, taking all the towels and not replacing them but overall pretty good. I would recommend this hotel, I enjoyed the staff members excellent service and assistance with ideas to wear out my ever ready three year old.
Very central hotel, a supermarket on the corner and some restaurants around. Nice room and great breakfast, sometimes busy. The hotel has a gym, a luggage room and nice lobby with a coffe machine. I saw a second building, try to stay on the main one !
The side door to the hotel leads to their hostel rooms - 10+ bunk beds in a large room. As far as hostels go, it's not bad at all. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, very secure. As a group of blokes on a very busy weekend in Stockholm, this was a good value-for-money option for us.
Great, friendly and serviceminded staff, supportive both to me an other guests! Location close to, walking distance, city center! Access to top of the line gym, fantastic! Nice breakfast with lot of choices. One floor down there is a cafe with simple great food!
Stayed here for 5 nights during our city break in the fabulous city of Stockholm The hotel was well appointed. Rooms large and comfy. Very clean. Tea/coffee making facilities in rooms plus free drinks machine in reception. Water cooler on each floor Walk in shower in room. Very powerful Good selection of food at breakfast. Get down early as it's busy. Outside seating area. Not scenic but nice All staff knowledgeable, friendly and with excellent English Highly recommend this hotel
Fairly well located, walking distance of subway to most central sights. Room was clean and in good condition. Only criticism was that the shower cubicle was a bit small. I quite enjoyed the european style breakfast buffett, with some particualr Swedish elements and even one or two hot dishes.Free coffee, tea, hot chocolate machine in the foyer.
When i make reservation and watch pics i got bit different feeling until i check in :) Room is bit small, pics myluggage is 120l.. Front desk crew its friendly and hotel is nice location next for Sveavägen. Around it supermarket (3min) and next coener 7/11 and MANY restaurants and bars. Walking central station ab 15min.
The hotel was well presented, the rooms were spacious and bright, all amenities there for your use, tea and coffee, toiletries, we had slippers and dressing gowns. Friendly staff, no problems to assist in organising trips, travel passes etc. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality, did not use the bar
We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in May 2017. Very pricey for the room size I feel. Bathroom well equipped, but felt oldish and not modern. View from the rooms was not so great. Front desk staff were at times very helpful, but in some instances not very informative. The highlight is you can get most of the tickets right at the front desk. The hop on hop off ticket as well as the travel pass for the public transport. The front desk helped us with considerable details for a day trip to IKEA. Since we were new to the place this was very helpful. Thanks! They also helped us with booking our return car service to Airport and that worked well. On the other hand, in another instance, we wanted some suggestions on restaurants and shops nearby, but did not get much information except that there were several restaurants nearby. The lobby does not have much natural light coming in I feel, so that makes the place a bit dark. They have a free coffee machine 24 hours a day, and this is really great! Good facility! Being a vegetarian, I was not happy with their breakfast spread. They had nothing warm or hot for vegetarians. I did ask if they could provide hash browns or fries in their breakfast spread and I was told it is not part of the Swedish breakfast so they don't provide. That may be a technically correct answer (I don't know) but in the hospitality industry, in this day and age of increased vegetarianism, that is an inadequate answer I feel. Especially since we stayed there 5 nights, this impacted us quite a bit. Overall I recommend this place, but it can be improved upon in specific aspects.
There were a few details I didn't find as good as I wanted them in my room (a tired shower nozzle, some dust in the air valve, lagging on the TV screen etc.), but on the other hand it was clean, well equipped and nicely designed. The staff seemed professional (both in the reception and in the brekfast room) and the location is perfect. I guess I was just unlucky being disturbed by the noicy people outside on the street at midnight.
I had higher expectations for this hotel, as my previous experiences in Best Western hotels around Europe were all good. The hotel's location is not convenient, as it is not very close to the city center and restaurants, a fact that was a real problem during the heavy winter time of my visit. Rooms and lobby area were just ok. Breakfast was nothing special but adequate. Service was good.
The location is great, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast could have been better, there is not lots of foods to choose from. All in all a good experience, the staff is helpful and kind.
It's a very good location, quite and decent. Friendly staff, very good breakfast. Near to the good restaurants, coffee shops, and mini markets. It's not the right choice for luxury and trendy seekers but very decent and clean.
I was in Stockholm for a conference at the Aula Medica. I picked this hotel as I could have an afternoon walking around Stockholm and then have a chance of walking to the conference venue the next day (that walk was a bit of a stretch) and this location served the first element admirably. best western had messed up my rewards card and as such I wasn't afforded anything more than a normal person. I was told that I had an upgrade room with more space - well woe betide you if you have a normal room because mine wasn't anything more than adequate. I was also given a 250SEK voucher by the receptionist to spend on half a beer at the bar. Problem was when I came to use my best western card for the remaining 250SEK they wouldn't let me buy alcohol with a card - so I didn't get to drink it. Overall it was all ok - and the location meant that I spent a lovely afternoon and evening exploring Stockholm which was great. Would I recommend this hotel - no not really - it was all a bit tired and I wasn't convinced that were really bothered whether I was there or not
Best Western Kom Hotel is very beautiful and a must place to go. The room is very clean and this hotel also have gym and basketball court. this place have sauna. it is very secured and convenient. It is near to 7 Eleven.
Good location but terrible reception desk staff. I booked for 3 nights but due to change of schedule at the end of the 2nd day I requested to check out 1 day earlier. Instead of checking with one of her managers, Disa at the reception desk simply rejected my request when she had no authority to make this decision. Respectable hotels' staff usually accommodate their guests' requests as they value their clients. Not the case with that hotel-rude and narrow-minded reception desk staff. Won't stay there again-wasn't treated well.
A hotel within walking distance of town. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Clean rooms with normal size and quite good average standard. Nice reception area with free coffee / cocoa and access to computers and the internet. Free and good internet in the rooms as well. Recommended for those who think it is okay with a Little walk to the center, and does not need Luxux but an average decent and nice standard.
Wonderful staff Clean, great breakfast, free tee/hot chocolate/coffe plus pastries in the lounge Huge gym But the best: Keyllie (not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly) took our dogs out of our room so that it could be cleaned and she allowed our dogs to have a fun time at the front desk while we went shopping. Simply amazing. BEST hotel experience I have EVER had traveling with my dogs. Thank you SO MUCH!
Very nice hotel with nice and smiley staff. Great location in the center of Stockholm. Close to hotel there is 7 Eleven and Coop supermarket. Rooms are comfortable, you can use gym and sauna for free. Lobby is very cosy place with free coffee and tea.
Hotel was really nice with very lovely girls at the reception desk who were always willing to help. I originally reserved single room without breakfast but they upgraded my reservation to a twin size bedroom with breakfast free of charge. The room and bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable! There was functional Philips LCD TV, with not really rich programme scheme, but who comes to Stockholm to watch TV anyway. Also wi-fi connection was perfect which is very important to me. Every guest can also uses sauna and gym free of charge. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a nice experience in the central Stockholm area with very good connections with Metro trains - metro station Rådmansgatan is only 300 m away.
The rooms were excellent and so was the service. the only thing you could have some negative words about was the breakfast which was not bad but not something special. The location is just a 10 minutes walk from central Stockholm which is more than OK.
the room was an OK size for three adults and the staff was knowledgeable in assisting this first time visitor to such a great city. the breakfast was good and food seemed fresh. the location seemed out of the way at first but once I got my bearings realized it is well located. the area is quite and not far from the main shopping district and public transportation
I'm disappointed at the hotel management at Kom Hotel (Best Western). I was robbed by a gang of the pickpockets in the hotel lobby while sitting in the sofa about 2 meters away from the reception counter waiting for breakfast to be opened at 7:20. There were 3 men, one of them used a trick of dropping a package of facial tissue paper to deviate my attention, the other guy standing next to the counter by the receptionist gave a signal to the guy standing behind me to grab my bag. The whole action was done so quickly, I didn't realized that my bag was gone until the last men who asked if I dropped a facial tissue put the facial tissue back in his pocket and rushed out. I couldn't believe that it happened right in front of the hotel staff and they didn't seem to take any quick action to protect their customer even though they were not busy since there were no guests around at that time unless I asked them to help me. Also the security at this hotel is very lax. The signs warning guests about pickpockets were very small less than A4 paper size and only placed by the computer and door to the breakfast room. These signs are unnoticeable. I will definitely not stay at this " Best Western Kom Hotel" in Stockholm again!
My 3 kids and I shared a cozy room with drop down bunks. The staff was friendly and helpful. Mostly comfy beds. Minor issues (one lower bunk was hard. Shower leaked onto bathroom floor.) Plenty of choices for breakfast. Easy walk to the metro and bus lines.
First the good... the reception staff is excellent! They go out of their way to be accommodating and friendly and for that reason alone this hotel gets five stars! Every single person I spoke with at the front desk, both to change rooms, whenever I had a question or needed assistance, for laundry, whatever... absolutely the best! The breakfast buffet was also awesome, with a wide variety of foods that even THIS vegetarian found delicious. You can tell it was a great breakfast because it was usually crowded from the moment the doors opened, too (although there was plenty of seating, even during the most crowded of times on the weekends). I didn't try the crepe/pancake/waffle station (or whatever that was), but the breads, cereals, yoghurt, fruits & veg, cheeses, etc. And coffee. Plenty of hot coffee and brewed often! As in most of Sweden, this is serve yourself and clear yourself, and once others recognized that fact, things went fairly smoothly. Laundry, btw, is super quick... drop it off at the desk by 9am and it's back that same day. It's not in your room though, you do have to ask for it at the front desk. I didn't hang out in the lobby area, but it looked as if it could be comfy because I often saw others hanging out there. Coffee/tea is available in the lobby at all hours. WiFi is free and I never had a problem connecting in any of the common areas, or in my room. I think the location of this hotel is fairly central, as it was easy to get to the train station, and plenty of restaurants were nearby. (It was close to my office, so that was all that mattered to me!) Now the less than great... this is a (I think) fairly typical European hotel. I had just stayed in a 5-star luxury hotel and had the shock when I realized the room I was originally booked in (I think an economy room) didn't have shelves or drawers, or much in the way of anywhere to hang clothes. I was going to be there for 8 nights, and I didn't want to live out of my suitcase for that many nights, so I managed to get my room changed. If you aren't going to be there long, or you don't have a lot of luggage (which I did, as I was traveling for both business and pleasure, plus I knew I'd be freezing cold in Sweden and Finland so I packed heavy clothing), this might not be an issue. For me, it was. But the staff was super helpful and all was ultimately resolved. Again, five stars for service!! Also, the temperature in the room is set for all rooms, and again, I was cold (I live in southern California, and I was just resigned to freezing in Stockholm). However, I was able to obtain a small space heater, and using that intermittently while I was in the room definitely enabled me to warm the room a bit so I was comfortable. Amenities in the room are a bit stripped down (soap in the shower and soap at the sink), but there is a teapot so you can make (instant) coffee and tea. If you like brewed coffee, you can bring your own filtered coffee. And oddly enough, while I couldn't get a feather pillow, I slept soundly every single night I was there!!! Either I was exhausted from walking miles every day (I forgo much of the transportation with my SL card for the exercise I gained by walking!), or the bed was just *that* comfortable! I'd definitely recommend the Best Western Kom. Yes, it's up a bit of a hill, but it's only a short block up if you're coming from that direction (I think the south-west?). If you're coming from the opposite direction, you can walk thru the church grounds, and it's a bit downhill!
Rooms are clean and well equipped but a bit too dark, mine had only a small window and natural light was not enough. At the reception you can find an area with hot beverage free of charge, fantastic when you come back in wintertime. Breakfast standard with more salty than sweet food. Overall a good service.
Positive: - Very good breakfast buffett - Reception staff exceptionally nice, especially William - Hotel/Room (main building) is very clean - Very comfy reception area - Free WiFi (not device limited) - 15-20min walk to city centre or Central Station Negative: - Slight gutter smell from window less bathroom - Instead of shower curtains there shoudl be maybe a glass wall? Especially in a room like mine where there was no tub but only a slightly descended floor - Rooms are split over two building and I was in the main building and my friend in the one just down the road which was annoying. Had we been aware we would have asked when booking to be put in the same place - For some reason no teaspoons at breakfast at all For all the negatives above I think it it quite expensive
Great place to stay while in Stockholm. I wouldn't say it was in the most central area, but it was in an area with restaurants and places to see as well as a short walk to the t-bana. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included in our room rate and had options and was good. We received a room that looked into the courtyard which was overall quiet. This is a great place to say and would recommend it to anyone visiting Stockholm. Staff was also VERY friendly and helpful!
I stayed at the hotel for three nights in February 2016. On my return home I realized I'd forgotten my charger in the room and phoned; hotel staff posted it the same day. Today (Sept. 2016) my accountant asked for a receipt and I phoned again; hotel staff found my name and reservation and emailed the document immediately. Very helpful, all that. (And the hotel itself was clean and central)
We booked at this hotel for the Stockholm halvmarathon. The location is pretty good and the staff very helpful. Breakfast excellent - however the room was really under my expectation, very small, only a little window (that you cannot open) and in the very small bathroom only a little shower.. Having said that, the room was clean - nothing to complain..
I can tell you that here is good not only for business travelers, but also for backpackers. The lounge is good to rest anytime, and the receptionists are all very kind. Room condition is nice but some of facilities are a little old. Also, the location is above a hill. Nevertheless, here is good for all travelers I think.
We weren't looking for fancy but still wanted to be in the central part of town. This hotel was a great option. Very close to a lot of local living including a stone's throw to a movie theatre and supermarket. Easy to get around from here and it was a quick Uber ride to anything we warned to do.
Staff were helpful, breakfast was excellent, room was clean and adequate plus the hotel was conveniently located for access to city centre and airport. At the price paid it was tremendous value for money.
This hotel is simply not up to the expected standards of North Americans. The rooms are tiny, the bathrooms even smaller. The room safe wouldn't open and even at the end of my three day stay, hadn't been fixed after numerous requests. The rooms were very hot at night (couldn't get it to cool down). The bed was small. The breakfast was the high spot in my stay and was very good. It is close enough to walk to many of the attractions.
The Good: central locale, 20 min walk to parliament, friendly and helpful staff, full breakfast buffet. The Bad: there are two buildings with this hotel. We were not in the main building, so there is a little walk up an incline to the other building, which interestingly hides a hostel inside (separate and secure entrance). Two people could not not be in the bathroom at the same time and the corner shower that flooded the whole floor every time was like something from my grandmothers scary basement. The leaky shower was not fixed during our three night stay. No ability to control room temperature (central control only), windows do open but no screen and noisy. Not even a 3star by European standards. I'd stay elsewhere.
If you compare this hotel so similar hotels in most other cities in Europe, you would say it is expensive - but then you remember you are in Stockholm. This hotels in not cheap, but offers good value for money. The check-in is a bit slow on occasion (have stayed here several times), but the rooms are clean and spacious, also quiet. Location is good, 10min walk to the centre, wifi of good quality. Breakfast is self service with many options, good for healthy food as well.
We stayed for two nights in this busy, but comfy place. The location is very good, easily reacheable by car, and with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Gamla Stan a 10 minute walk. Nice clean and quiet room, excellent beds, acceptable refurbished bathroom. Service personnel very friendly and helpful. And all this for a very reasonable price. To be repeated.
Great hotel. We stayed there for a family visit at Christmas. The rooms are reasonably large, very clean. The frontdesk is multilingual and service-minded. Prices are relatively fair and you are really downtown, with plenty of shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes' walk. Inly drawback was that the cafeteria was closed during our stay there. Very nice lobby with free tea. Greatly recommended.
I can only say the best about the hotel and staff. The staff was helpful to make restaurant reservations and explain public transportation. Unfortunately, it was very noisy outside with loud parties and revving cars and motorcycles well after 23:00. Ask for a room not against the street if possible.
Whole my family rented a 8-bed room in the hotel. There was quite a shabby shower but 2 loos right next to the room door. The room was quite stuffy, all the wall lamps out of order. Yet the breakfast buffet was a very nice surprise, especially freshly baked waffles and a carrot cake. The hotel is located rather centrally: next to Sveavägen, 3-5 min on foot to Rådmansgatan tube station.
Just back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. As a solo traveller this hotel was great for me. Really close to city centre and most of the attractions too.I asked for a high floor and got one too. Breakfast was really tasty and a good choice to be had. If I was going back to Stockholm I would stay here. Might not suit everybody but it was fine for me. I got the Arlanda Express train back to airport, station is about 20 minute walk from hotel.
We stayed at this hotel for just one night before heading for the airport. The room was clean, functional, and quiet. The receptionist was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. We liked the location for its variety of restaurants including a tapas bar and Thai restaurant, and an interesting and easy walk to the downtown area. The hotel does not have a/c but can provide a fan.
we've been here for 4 nights best service cosy place and cooperative personnel. we arrived to hetel early they checked us in without any charge with a smile and when we wanted to extend our visit one more night they'd done it without any probliem 'only con is they dont accept cash just cards
Looking for a comfortable three night pre-cruise stay we chose the Kom on its price and convenience - we were not disappointed. First appearances aren't encouraging -tucked away in a unprepossessing back street opposite a sex shop, a dull red brick facade with small windows and a pokey reception area caused the heart to sink. However, the warmth of the reception and the bedroom reversed this impression. The bedroom was of a very good size, although with Scandinavian minimalist fittings. Wonderful buffet breakfast with super efficient staff. 24/7 coffee availability in reception was very welcome. Good wi-fi coverage. A brisk 10 minute walk took you into the main shopping centre.
Stayed for 3 nights at end of 2 week family Scandinavian vacation. Had 2 adjoining rooms for family of 5 (the person who checked us in was not aware that the rooms were connected!). Ok space-wise. The smaller room with no window. It is a few blocks from the busier tourist streets but 15 minute walk to the major attractions. Nice gym. Breakfast buffet was a little cramped and meager (compared to the ones we had in our hotels in Norway).
We stayed there for 1 night in June. The Lobby is small but has 24 hour coffee and water available at no charge. The check in process was easy even though our reservations were kind of complicated. There are 2 buildings that are across the street from each other. We stayed across the street, which was a bit difficult to manage with lots of luggage. The room was small (typical European hotel) but very clean. The view from our room was out onto nearby rooftops. The included breakfast was much more than I expected, lots of different choices, including fruits and veggies. Good coffee. Excellent location within 15 minutes walking to Gamla Stan (Old Town) and Royal Palace.
If you are familiar with best Western Hotel chain this keeps up with the standards and even lives up to the stylish city of Stockholm. The location is near the metro bus lines and very good restaurants. Very helpful staff good breakfast buffet and nice rooms they are a bit small as most have written. We had room604 it was on the small side street with the entrance there was very little traffic and it was not so loud as some have written.
Recently stayed at this hotel on a 3 day city break to Stockholm. The room suited my needs perfectly it was clean, relatively roomy and the bed was comfortable enough plus i found some English language channels on the TV which was a bonus. The staff here were really helpful and friendly and answer all our questions and gave us tips on best places to go. The highlight of this hotel is definitely the breakfast which is included in the price, it was brilliant which a wonderful selection plus you could have as much as you like. If i ever return to Stockholm again I would definitely return to this hotel.
We stayed here as a family having never been to Stockholm before. We had a budget room which I didn't realise was four bunk beds! This was a very novel idea and we quite enjoyed it, although it may not be for everyone so I would check when you book. The breakfast was varied although slightly busy at times. There was cold water available and tea and coffee in the reception. The location was a good walk from the old town but actually in an area with lots of restaurants and bars. I would recommend this hotel as the price was reasonable for Stockholm as well!!
We were meant to stay a few nights..ended up staying one and changing hotels. Seems like they spent more money on their gym rather their bedrooms. As I got off the lift and walked towards the room I thought I was in the Poltergeist 2. It was really dark and creepy. The room itself had dark colors and the beds and "sofa bed"--not even a bed was so uncomfortable I woke up with a backache. The shower smelled of pee too. It took forever to get warm water and even when I eventually did the water spread out onto the rest of the floor in the bathroom because there was nothing there to prevent the water from coming out. The only good thing about this place was the breakfast and the free coffee in reception.
Very nice hotel with very friendly staff in good central location. Room was big and very clean. Breakfast was very complete and all we wished for. I would definitely stay here again when I would go back to Stockholm!
best value I could get for 4 adults, bunk beds, tiny room but very clean and the breakfast buffet made up for everything. Nice selection of food. Location is the best, right in the center, all in walking distance.
staff were really friendly and helpful. our room was a basic family room with bunkbeds which was really clean and well kept with a wet room. breakfast was included which was really lovely, plenty of choice and a
We had a fantastic time during our 4-night stay at the Best Western Kom Hotel in Stockholm in April 2016. It was a good-sized room with a well-appointed bathroom. Breakfast had a nice selection of Swedish specialties along with more 'American style' offerings for the less adventurous. The lobby has 24-hour tea & coffee along with some couches to lounge in. Wifi was great and the workout facilities (part of an open-to-the-public gym) were terrific. We loved the location. Easy walking to shops, restaurants, food stores, etc. we didn't even use buses or the trains because everything was within a 1-1/2 mile walk.
An older building so not to expect all mod cons, however, it has been refreshed, all works fine, thou bathroom ventilation issues... but acceptable for it's age. Staff professional, friendly & helpful. Couple of blocks from down town and 20 mins walk to the old town. Black out blinds, quiet and a good night's sleep. Value and satisfaction it ticks the boxes.
I stayed here in a twin room with my Mum for four nights for Eurovision. The staff at the hotel were amazing, So friendly, and very helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard, and the beds were very comfortable. Good location too, Only a 10 minute walk to central station, and the metro is close by too. Loved the free hot drinks in the reception area too. The bar was good value too. Breakfast was great! Huge variety to choose from. Definitely recommend staying here!
Breakfast was good, in addition to normal selection of Scandinavian food, there were waffles and some sort of cakes as well. It was only until 9.30 but I guess most of the people leave before 9 o'clock. People at reception were helpful whatever we asked. (restaurants etc.) I also liked the room with coffee/tee service, which was also available at the lobby. Especially I liked the "Wednesday morning run" with sport instructor, we had a easy an hour run around Gamla Stan and centre of Stockholm. Weather was nice, too. According to the hotel reception, this hotel is owned by YMCA and trying to profile itself as more sports-oriented. I would like to come back again if I have a chance to stay in Stockholm again. Gym was wide and well-equipped, too. Thank you!
the location of this hotel is really good, really close to radmansgatan t bana station, and also walking distance to many other places. staff at the reception was great, always willing to help with a smile. breakfast was good, but i guess the hotel was full, so there was a line to the buffet. i got a room in the main building, which was really big, and modern. the only downside of the room, was the shower, that the door of the shower, didnt block the water from getting to the all shower area. overall really nice experience, and would be great to stay there again.
We stayed there for 3 nights during Eurovision season. We had an amazing time. The room was spacious and very clean, and the beds very comfortable. The wifi works perfectly, and the TV has international channels. The staff were very polite and welcoming. It is also walking distance to the central station, close to the metro, and close to various restaurants. Would definitely recommend staying there!
I stayed here for 1 nights with my family. The beds are comfy, the breakfast is nice (but finishes a little early)... :) We picked the Best Western Kom based on cost as it was cheaper than the other options, but we were so pleased with the decision!
We arrived on Thursday and were met by the always friendly and helpful reception staff, our room was clean and comfortable although a little cramped for 3 of us.Breakfast is an excellent hot and cold buffet with plenty of choice. The hotel is located in a quiet area about 20 mins walk from the centre and close to the tube station.Stockholm is quite expensive and beware of taxi drivers who don't agree a price before setting off ie on the meter , despite this it is a beautiful city with welcoming people and we would recommend this hotel as a base to explore, hopefully return one day .
We picked the Best Western Kom based on cost as it was cheaper than the other options, but we were so pleased with the decision! The location is brilliant. You can still easily walk down to Gamla Stan but it is excellently served by transit (if you've travelled from Central Station and you've got luggage, the Rådmansgatan stop is the best option). The 2 bus is only a block away on Birger Jarlsgatan and takes you down to the waterfront quickly. The staff were lovely and really helpful, the breakfast was awesome, and we were so pleased with the nearby options to eat and drink, I was really pleased though as the actual hotel was still really nice and quiet. Free tea and coffee in the lobby at all times along with muffins, and the wifi throughout the hotel was really fast. For the price, I couldn't fault it!
I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner. The beds are comfy, the breakfast is nice (but finishes a little early) and the gym is very good quality compared with other hotel gyms I've used. It's ideally located for shopping and is walkable from the central station, but also close to a metro station if you'd prefer that. The only negative I found is that I had no control of the AC so when it was hot all you could do was open a window which didn't help much. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there is a free coffee machine in the lobby which is good!
I think the hotel was nice and very well located. We took a room for 3 adults and the sleeping sofa was very small and unconfortable. But we liked the breakfast and we could have coffe, te or chocolate for free in the loby.
The hotel itself is good but it's quite confusing to start with as the reception area and the breakfast room is in one building but the hotel rooms are in another building (although very close to each other). You have to use key card to enter the front door, the stairway, the door to your room level and then to get into your room. Even to go into breakfast room you have to use your key card. It may be a bit annoying at first but you soon will get used to it. The worst part was the internet connection wi-fi in the room; I could not get any. Unless I went into the common rooms! However the facilities were great - comfortable sofas in the common room, ice cubes dispensers, water cooler dispenser, sauna, coffee machines (unlimited)
Although not the most central location it is easy enough to walk to the main city area. There are a few restaurants in close proximity. We selected the hotel on the basis of price and general location and it worked well enough: taxi from station was about 100Swedish Krone. Rooms are small, well serviced and the breakfast substantial and with plenty of choice. The 'bar' is rather a selection of limited range of drinks available from the front counter
I can not recommend this hotel, we got a very small basement room. We were 3 and asked for a room that fit for us. I have never known it had hotel room in the basement, where pedestrians can look down and into the room. The room was very small and the bathroom was also very small. We will not come back there.
My friends and I booked a triple room at the hotel for 4 nights to do some sightseeing and shopping in Stockholm and we got a very good deal for our money. Our room was on the 6th floor. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was rather acceptable. Clean room, kettle for tea and coffee, enough hangers for our jackets, flat iron and ironing board, hair dryer etc. Our biggest complaint: the third bed that wasn't actually a bed. It was a chair bed that wasn't too comfortable for an adult. Also, wifi in the room was slow and not very helpful. Bathroom was smallish and had curtains that couldn't stop water from flooding the floor during showering. Now good things. Breakfast was satisfying, tasty food and enough of everything. There were many people, especially around 9am, but we never had to hustle for a place to sit. There was a water cooler and a coffee/tea machine in the lobby. Hotel also has a gym, luggage room and not to forget, helpful staff. Location: this is hotel's best feature, in my opinion. It's very well connected to Stockholm's attractions. Many places are within walking distance (if weather permits). It takes 6-7 min to Konserthuset, 15-20 min to Central Station, 25-30 min to Gamla Stan, for example. Or, you can invest in Travel Card an use public transport at your will. Nearby metro station - 5min walk - is Hötorget metro station (green metro line). We also used Bus No 2 a lot. Don't forget to buy your ticket in advance, though! There are some pubs, Coop supermarket and 7-Eleven store near the hotel. All in all, good for short time staying, great as a starting point for sightseeing and shopping and great cost/benefit ratio for an expensive city such as Stockholm. Not so great if you have some business to do using wifi.
Nice hotel, we need a triple room, and this room has 4 beds which you can fold up if not needed. There's free coffee and tea at the lobby (though no kettle in the room), something I never encounter before, very nice. Staffs were all very friendly, extremely helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Location wise, there are a lot of pubs around, doesn't feel too safe if go back to the hotel too late. Our room is on ground level but from the outside our room is like on the basement. If you open the window blind, people outside can see inside. The room's air conditioning is central controlled. We couldn't adjust the temperature (too warm). The window grill is quite wide apart, we didn't feel safe at all even to open the window a little bit. Because outside the window is directly street area... I asked the receptionist about the air conditioning, she told me I could borrow a fan...which I did.. but the fan emitted foul, burning smell once we turned it on, and the air that it blew was warm air.. LOL... we don't understand the fan. So we didn't use it. Luckily it got cooler in the middle of the night. I wouldn't stay here if it's summer... Another thing with this hotel is that, if you need to put your luggage, they'd open the luggage room for you and you put it / take it yourself. There's no tagging. Anyone could have taken your luggage. I supposed Scandinavians are more trusty people but you never know what kind of tourists you'd get you know......
The hotel is well located with most attractions within 2-3 mile. For a family of 4, the rooms were a little cramped, but comfortable. Great breakfast, plan to be there before 9am as it gets v crowded. The staff is very friendly & helpful. On the flip side, the bathrooms were tiny and poorly designed. Water all over the place after a shower. Expensive at c£150 a night, but I suppose that's to be expected for Sweden !
That's a pleasant Hotel not too far from the city centre close to metro station, restaurant and supermarkets. Cozy and comfy room, breakfast in the morning was adequate and also good amenities to use at the Hotel lobby like mulled wine, tea, biscuits, soft drinks..... The only complaint I would address to this Hotel is that Stockholm in December was too cold :)
The hotel is well located with easy access to the city center. The staff was helpful. The hotel serves a good breakfast with lots of choices. The gym is better than most hotel gyms I have been to. I certainly can recommend this hotel.
The windows in our room was partially closed But... Who cares! The lives its outside The hotel is comfy and close of everything. Good breakfast! Nice and newest gym and sauna (was close when I try to go!)
We stayed here recently for a total of 3 nights. The service in reception was great – all staff very friendly and very helpful. The location was quite good – not in the centre but not too far to walk and near restaurants, bars and public transport. Our room was in the main building on the 6th floor and clean and good. We had a safe and tea/coffee making facilities and comfortable beds. There was plenty of hanging space but no drawers – fortunately we were able to keep our case to hand for easy access to non-hanging items. The only drawback was the bathroom – it was very small with a wet floor shower where the water didn't run away properly – it also had a black shower curtain which made the area very gloomy!! It was also very hot as the towel rail could not be turned off!! It was very quiet at night and there was cold water available in the hallway which was good! The breakfasts were very good with lots of choice, including a waffle making machine and free coffee in reception over 24 hours. We had to check-out before breakfast started but the hotel provided us with a box containing 2 juices, 2 sandwiches and 2 apples – a very nice touch which we've never experienced before! All in all, a very good experience for what we paid – shame about the shower!
I stayed 3 nights here and enjoyed my stay, will definitely come back to this hotel in the future. It is in a very central location which is perfect for commuting via the tube, and a 20 minute walk to central train station.
Stayed here just for a night. Found the hotel very neat and tidy. Location is very nice. Very close to the main city. We could easily walk down to the harbor from the hotel. The breakfast spread is also nice, they can just add few more vegetarian options, but otherwise also it's good.
the location is good - close to the subway and most of the main sights are in walking distance; the rooms are small and very basic (e.g., no fridge); the Swedish breakfast is simply great; there is nothing really on the negative side; to have a room in the 2nd building is inconvenient, especially when it is raining or cold (breakfast and reception are in the main building), and on Fri&Sat night the nearby pub can be a little noisy
This was a very good value hotel, but not the fanciest. It was clean and simple and it had a great breakfast so for the money we paid I was very happy - however it is rather basic. Its location could be slightly closer to the town, about at 10/15mins walk to the old town but very close to the subway. Overall we were very happy with it for the money we paid.
This is a mainstream, nothing-out-of-the-ordinary, but quite good and decent hotel quite central and at an ok price. We walked some 20-25 minutes from the Central Train station to get here, an option would off course be to take a cab, but we enjoyed the walk. Tucked away in some of the smaller streets this hotel occupies not one, but actually two locations. Not a big deal, but if you end up in the one on the side, you have to walk outside to get to breakfast, sauna, fitness room, the reception etc. The service in the reception was excellent, check in was done in an instant, by a professional and very polite young man - a good start! We had to walk over to the other building to our room. To get in, you use your room key. You might as well get used to it, because you use the key also to use the elevator and even to get in to the breakfast restaurant. Be also aware, that if you come in late in the evening, you will need a code in addition to the key to get in. This code is printed on the key folder that you get upon check in. The room was a bit on the smaller side, especially the bathroom, but not tiny. Modern, good sound isolation, very comfy beds, flatscreen, a safe, no water boiler/coffee maker, no mini bar or fridge. But out in the hall there was an ice vendor and a water tank. And I do believe there was free coffee in the reception/lounge. They had fitted 2 chairs and a small table in the room as well, and a small desk. Good pressure in the shower with plenty of hot water. And a shower cabinet that actually worked - no water out on the bathroom floor! The breakfast: quite good, with most of the stuff you would expect to find. Lacked some fish/herring to my taste, more choice in cheese and some more yoghurts, fruits and healthy choices. Why not some smoothies...? The buffet area in the breakfast restaurant is very small, hence, queuing and very crowded. All in all, you cant go wrong with this hotel. It doesn't stand out, but it delivers as expected and we had no negative experiences, and that's fine with me!
We spent a week in this central Stockholm hotel. The staff were terrific. When we first arrived, the reception spent one hour trying to sort out a more suitable room than the one that they had earmarked for us. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are wet rooms. The spread laid out for breakfast was more like a picnic at Glyndebourne than a start to a Swedish day. There is free (any kind) coffee available all day long.
This was a nice hotel, a nice stay, I recommend it. Close to the main Stockholm avenues, walking distance from the city center. Nice and spacious rooms, very well cleaned. Friendly staff, very helpful and always available. Breakfast was the expected for this type of hotel, although it could have more fresh fruit and bread. I ended up having I light dinner at the bar and the raspberry pie desert was just awesome!
Highly recommend this hotel for its location and the best breakfast. Extremely friendly and helpful staff and always very accommodating. It is a walking distance to everything for tourists. This hotel is a walking distance to the central train station so it makes it easier for those who travels by train. Walking distance to trams and buses. Most people speak English so it is not a problem for tourists.
Very nice hotel in the city center, very professional, ready to assist, clean rooms. Great experience, will come back! Fresh coffee and tea 24 hours for hotel guests, delicious breakfast, variety of breakfast offerings.
Comfortable hotel in Sthockholm's city centre near Hötorget and alot of stores and restaurants. Walking distance to everything you need and comfortable rooms. The bathroom in our hotel room felt a bit old and funky but clean. The hotel do not have any guest parking at all and refer you to the on-street parking (and it's not easy to find available street parking in Stockholm city). If you are lucky you get a parking spot in a garage nearby (which is quite expensive in Stockholm). The breakfast was good but the look and atmosphere of the dining area felt more like a school canteen than a hotel dining room.
Everything was really good. Clean rooms, helpful staff, fresh and delicious breakfast, great location in the heart of Stockholm... We will stay at this hotel in our next visit to Stockholm and we advise others to do the same...
A standard mid range hotel, no surprises here. Clean room, small but clean bathroom and the WiFi seems to work although it makes you like the hotel before you can log in which will appear on your facebook and alert everybody that you stayed in this hotel so be careful if you planned a "dirty stopout" with anybody else except the wife. Breakfast is standard Swedish hotel breakfast, mostly international with a slight twist. Central location is nice, walk down to the main street fairly easily and about ten minutes walk from the central station. Good range of restaurants easy walking distance, shopping and Lidl/Coop supermarkets nearby.
A good hotel for a business trip, with a reasonable sized room, and good amenities. Good breakfast buffet. The hotel was a bit out of centre for sight seeing but good for my needs, and on the metro. The hotel is in two parts with an annex in another building where I was staying; breakfast was in the main building.
I stayed here for one night, when on a business-trip in Stockholm. I would have to say that I was very dissappointed in the hotel. The location was nice, which is basically the only plus. The rooms didn't seem very clean. The staff was friendly, but highly recommended the lasagna in the cafe downstairs, which was very dry and not very tasty. The breakfast had only two warm options, bacon and undercooked scrambled eggs. If I can help it, I will not be coming back.
Kom hotel in Stockholm gives great value for money. Free coffee, biscuits or chocolate in the foyer helps you to feel comfortable. Together with very helpful service staff, clean and well furnished rooms, free and well functioning WiFi , a rich breakfast and a central location for shopping, the hotel is very recommendable for a short stay in the beautiful city of Stockholm. The main shopping street is just a 10 minutes walk away.
Great hotel, especially for the price, can't think of any negatives! There was free hot chocolate, tea, coffee and even glögg in the main lobby; there's a second building with an unstaffed lobby on the 4th floor which offers tea/coffee but not hot chocolate, so the man on reception filled us up a cup of chocolate powder to take over there! We asked for rooms by the courtyard (as they are apparently quieter) and that's what we got, perfect. There was free wifi, and computers in the lobby with free internet access. Breakfast was plentiful, even close to the end; I was able to have scrambled eggs on toast with bacon, fresh melon, cereals, and you can make your own waffles and top them with a choice of jam, whipped cream and Nutella - delicious! Beds were comfy, rooms were clean and all appliances worked properly, there was a hairdryer in the bathroom and iron/ironing board in the wardrobe, and plenty of plug sockets. Great location; the nearest underground station is less than 5 minutes walk away, and the Coop supermarket only a couple of minutes, plus the bus to Djurgarden is only a 10-15 minute walk away. Gamla Stan is about a 25-30 minute walk away, and it is a very pleasant walk. Really nothing to fault about this hotel, would strongly recommend, and if we're ever in Stockholm again we'd definitely stay here!
I never felt so much at ease in a single room, I had really a lovely time there. It was the best thing of this place and when the best is the room, well I would say the hotel made the winning goal. The room was spacious enough for me and my belongings, it had a comfortable bed in a corner, a desk and tv. Then there was an extra space with a soft carpet, an armchair, a lamp and a little table, I loved to relax there. All simple furniture, but modern and in order. There a big window and the lighting system is good, so that it's always full of light. Same for the heating, I was there in winter and it was always perfectly warm. The bathroom was new and it featured a wonderful shower, hot and powerful at any time. Everything was perfectly clean. A rich and various buffet breakfast was offered in the main building, whereas in the second one where my room was located it was possible to have tea and apples for free. The position is very good, in a quiet street but close to a metro station. Due mention for the staff: very nice, competent, helpful... you rock, guys! And for an expensive town like Stockholm the price was not high. I couldn't find anything better!
great location. stayed for 5 nights with my family. walking distance to shops and restaurants. Hotel is clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast and free coffee/hot chocolate in lobby 24hrs. Highly recommended.
Although the overall aspect was not highly appreciated, the stay was nice. Room is quite large (we stayed in a special room designed for disabled person) Still the bathrooms need quickly a renovation. Breakfast was very good .
This hotel was comfortable and convenient. We arrived early so stored our luggage so we could enjoy the city. The staff organised taxis for us and the breakfast was very substantial if you chose it to be. Only niggle was the quilt a little narrow for the bed- no overhang at all. Loved the notepads with sudoku - kept kids and grandpa quiet!
A decent hotel with good and helpfull staff. Very central in Stockholm city. The standard of the room is good, quite large rooms with a decent bed. Breakfast was very good but the lunches was ok (at most) since we were quite a large group and there was no bar, everyone had to squeeze into the relatively small lobby. They served beer through the reception at decent prices by Swedish standards. Overall I was satisfied with the stay but it was nothing extraordinairy. Would I go here again? Yeah.. Possibly
Very nice and helpful staff, great location around 15 mins walk to central station , amazing breakfast. Room was clean with comfortable bed. Bathroom is a little bit old but it wasn't a problem at all. I can recommend this hotel for everyone : )
We stayed 2 nights & returned 3 days later for another 2 nights both rooms were comfortable & Clean, The weather was very hot, so a water cooler was on each floor for guests to use. The staff were helpful, breakfast had a complete range for food or all nationalities. The rooms were average size but comfortable.
I would definitely rcommend travellers to stay at this hotel, because of the support staff, cleanliness, nice breakfast. Prices are a bit high though, comparing to the amenities offered in the room provided and the size of the room. Bathroom was a bit small. Overall a nice place to stay as it is within the centre of the city.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Central Station and also close to the center. Staff is very friendly, room is large enough with daily cleaning. I loved the shower and the decoration in room. Breakfast is a feast actually. I'll come back here
I was transferred to this hotel from another Best Western in Stockholm because they were overbooked. Unfortunately my stay here wasn't very impressive. The room was very loud, I could literally hear people talk on the street. They were close to the main road so the traffic was going all night long. Amenities are old as well. I would say not to stay there unless you don't have another choice.
Nice location in a quiet subarb; 5 minutes walk from tube station; tiny windows in the room; where main windows should be is a large wall blocked off - which is odd as room overlooks the main road. Superb buffet breakfast with waffle making facility - just smear butter onto waffle maker and pour in pre-made egg emulsion kept in cups on the side. Add clotted cream and jam - just heavenly,
