What a great hotel! I can't think of any negatives except accessibility! When you find the hotel (the front of it is small as is the sign) when you walk through the door you will be in for a treat! The first thing you see is the old elevator (don't worry, there is a more modern one available as well!) and then you enter the covered courtyard which also has the reception desk. Absolutely stunning, especially in the evening! The location was perfect for me - on one of the main pedestrian streets that goes straight into central Stockholm. I was travelling alone so can't comment on the larger rooms but mine (522) was clean and quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was probably one of the best that I've had when travelling with a massive selection of hot food (eggs, bacon, sausage, vegetables, veggie/vegan option), a LOT of choices for breads and crackers, cold meats, cheese, smoothies, side dish options. I liked that they kept a drink station in the lobby with coffees and teas that you could help yourself to. They also had little snacks available throughout the day. My room was very comfortable, everything was very clean and in the bathroom there were soaps available. A nice touch was that being on the 5th floor it got quite warm but a stand fan was in the room so was able to keep cool. My light didn't leave until we'll after checkout time but was able to leave my bag at the hotel while I spent some more time looking around the city.
I like old buildings ! The hotel is comfortable. I had a tiny room very cosy. Breakfast very tasty and great choice!
A nice hotel in an excellent location, and within walking distance of most tourist attractions. Excellent breakfast buffet and very helpful staff (Anna in particular). They also offer a taxi service to and from the Arlanda airport. The main street is almost exclusively pedestrian with an ample supply of restaurants and shops. This was a good choice!
In the 1980s this would have been a good hotel. Today, it is shocking to see a hotel with such cramped rooms, bad soundproofing (if someone moves a fork during breakfast you hear it in your room), bad mattresses, bad climate control still in operation. Sleep quality zero. Location and breakfast are very good though, 2 stars for that.
BEWARE!! NO AIR CONDITIONER IF YOU STAY IN THAT TIME OF YEAR ! Rooms are hot as heck and only a 7imch fan given. No ice machines or buckets provided, no face wash cloths for guests who use. Plus you have to climb flights of stairs with your luggage! Plus bathrooms floods easy not water stop or shower door! But excellent breakfast and location
Hotel Bentleys was a great find! I haven't been to Stockholm in ages and wasn't sure about the location but the location turned out to be perfect. Bentleys had a great atmosphere, friendly staff and tastiest hotel breakfast I've had on my travels.
We had the most pleasant stay. The location is perfect. Close to everything, both the railway station, shops, restaurants and sightseeing. The staff was wonderful, the lounge very nice and they had great breakfast. Overall, the expectations where exceeded. We will return for sure!
Despite its city centre location, the hotel does not really live up to the standards it claims. The room was extremely small and upon request no alternative was offered. It's only window opened to the inner atrium of the hotel with music playing from breakfast into the evening. However, staff was friendly and breakfast is OK.
“Hole-in-the-wall” first impression was quickly dashed. (That's a GOOD thing!) Old charm, safe & secure, comfortable and efficient are its adjectives. Room was not spacious but very pleasing. All inclusive breakfast buffet ranks among the best ever (of thousands) and staff easily and quietly kept up with the forty simultaneous diners.
Comfortable place in the heart of the city. Welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. I was there with a group of colleagues and all went fine. The restaurant Piccoli sapori in the same building recommended by the hotel manager was another excellent surprise
This place is about a 10 minute walk from the central station which makes it very convenient and cheaper than other around that area. It's quiet and has a nice indoor courtyard with reception and beakfast in the morning. Room was small but just what i needed. Great if you want to be close to everything as it's on Drottninggatan, one of the main shopping streets but still this is a gateway neatly tucked away from the busy crowds. Will definitely stay again
Best Western Bentleys was a great hotel, helpful staff, and delicious breakfast. The room was on the smaller side but enough room for two people, and the bed was super comfy. The location is really the kicker. Tons of shops and restaurants nearby and not too far of a walk from both the central train station and Gamla Stan.
Convenient location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Tea/coffee with delicious cookies and fruits are available around the clock. Very pleasant and calm atmosphere. I sincerely recommend everyone to visit this hotel
Basic hotel with great breakfast, good location but don't expect to feel pampered. We did not order the smallest double option, but the room was smaller than in the picture, and the bathroom was tiny with shower right next to the toilet without a shower curtain (so everything got wrt when we showered). A bad smell came from the sewer and the hairdryer was broken. Doorframes and radiator in bad condition and reminded more of an office space in the 90s than a 4 star hotel. I would say this is max a 3 stars hotel. Still OK value if you're looking for a city stay and don't want to hang out much in the room.
Amazing staff and good location. Bed is not so great. Couldn't sleep for 3/5 nights stay. Breakfast is good. With a lot of options that suits yours apetite. Staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are clean.
The hotel location is very good - within walking distance to the Stockholm Central Station and many attractions. The breakfast was really good - with good food selection. There are a lot of restaurants along the pedestrian street the hotel is adjacent to. There is also a supermarket and a liquor store nearby. The room was small but sufficient as I stayed by myself.
Having travelled through the region this was a disappointing experience. Firstly, accessibility into the building is very difficult. The rooms are tiny, with no air conditioning and the windows opened onto the hotel courtyard- very noisy! There were no extra services or relaxation spaces. Also a long walk to the old town and waterfront. Would not recommend.
Absolutely nothing. Ride staff. The photos they show on the app are totally different than the room I received. You can't open the window, there's no AC and the room felt like a prison. Even towels never dry out properly because there's no windows to open. They give you 2 cheap noisy fans to survive the heath. There are only 2 plugs beside the bed, you get confused, do i charge my phone and watch or turn the noisy fans on. The breakfast was edible. I would call this hotel Worst Western Hotel Bentleys and would never come back again. Noisy bed and small blankets. What a disaster place to visit. It says “queen room” but i got a prison cell.
This hotel is in the center of Stockholm. Location is perfect but it lacks essentials. No aircondition. The fan provided does not do much to the 25 C room temperature. Rooms opens to the internal yard which is as hot. No room fridge to keep a cool drink, no ice machine, no room safe. If you book 4 separate weeks during summer don't expect any upgrades or bonuses. Stay in your miniature single, 12m2. A positive thing is the breakfast and coffee, tea and a cookie provided in the reception area. How this hotel had a 4 star rating is difficult to understand
An attractive old building in a very good location, close to the city centre and transport (Metro, bus, tram) Excellent breakfast choices, with Vegan and vegetarian options. Room was small - we had to move chair and suitcase stand around to fit our one suitcase in. The square footage shown when booking is correct, but the L-shape makes it difficult to maximise it. Rooms overlook the breakfast/reception full height atrium, fine as a view but when people are sitting there for a drink and a chat the noise carries - one day we thought there was a party somewhere but it was just a family group. The staff are very professional and helpful. There is one old-style elevator (metal doors x 2) at the entrance and excellent modern elevators at both sides. One slight moan - housekeeping was hit and miss, e. g. no replenishment of tea/coffee/milk on two days, and had to tell reception on one day that the room had not been done at all by 16.30, with my wife keen to shower before our evening out. It was sorted, but a little frustrating. Overall a really good 4-night stay, and I recommend this hotel.
Excellent breakfast - tasty and fresh. However, the room was very small and lacked decent storage. Cool setting with windows overlooking the restaurant. All basic services were fine. We were given our room before set time which is always positive.
Friendly atmosphere, in the heart of the City center. Rooms are a bit small though, but location does make up for it. Nice choice breakfast buffet as well as free coffee and cake during afternoon tea time.
The room was really comfortable. I enjoyed great meals and the perfect service. The hotel itself is located at the very heart of Stockholm. I was travelling solo and it was my first trip to Stockholm so I asked for some information regarding the city. The personnel was always ready to give me some advices. I will definitely stay at that hotel again next time I am in Stockholm.
A nice hotel with spacious rooms and a vintage Swedish style. We had a lovely room, with very friendly personnel, and a tasty breakfast. One can reach any touristic destination from the place without using transport. Stayed here for winter holidays.
Good location convenient to the Central station and many sights. Very clean and accommodating. Breakfast buffet is plentiful though a bit repetitive if you are staying more than 3-4 days. Front desk staff was attentive and helpful and even found a room when I arrived prior to check-in time. Ironing room is very nice to have considering how small many rooms are (would barely fit in an ironing board).
Stayed 1 night in a ridiculous small room rated almost 150€/night. Everything is small and narrow. I can't believe that this can be part of their offer… no air cond, hot temperature… 80cm bed… 1 Window with view on the lobby… Check pictures… Never ever again there!
We booked at internet 2 standard rooms, queen bed, 4 nights. When we arrived, we have got 2 little spaces, 12m, under the roof in the attic. In half the room, you could not stand up under the roof. The bed was 1.40x1,9 m, only accessible at 1 side, no ponde in the front because off lac of hight. The head of the shower was max at 1,75 m, also because of the roof, in a bathroom of 2x1 m. To open the window i had to climb on the chair to reach the lock. And this space was rented to us as a room for 2 persons. At night , al night, there was the noise of running water in the pipes of the heating and the whooshing of al the ventilation pipes on the roof. We tried to sleep there for 1 night, impossible. Next morning we demanded to see someone from the management to complain but no one was available. Then they offered us 2 other rooms, on the second floor, same size of bed, a little larger, a lot higher, same price and our problem was solved. Why do they try to rent such little spaces in the attic as standard double rooms? If they had given us the right rooms the first day, our visit would have been perfect.
Booked a standard room for two. Got a very, very small room in the basement, with no ventilation. The room was warm and smelled like wet dog. Not properly cleaned, dusty. Broken lamps, curtains, fan and mirror gave a massy impression. No head boards on the beds feels unsanitairy in a hotel. On the plus side its close to everything, its cheap and the breakfast was good.
Twin room 302, simply atrocious. Extremely small, stained walls and cheap furniture. How in the world this is a 4-star hotel? I have no idea! Complained to reception to get another room (maybe not all of them are the same) to no avail, it was a pre-paid booking. Advise to avoid this place, or at least have very clear expectations: is actually a 2-star hotel!!!
I really enjoyed my recent trip to Stockholm and this hotel was a big plus point. The most memorable thing is the large airy internal courtyard, which has plenty of seating to enjoy breakfast in the morning and to have a drink in the evening. It's very picturesque and a nice sight to see as you walk in and out of the hotel. My room was a little small and basic for the price I paid, but Stockholm is quite expensive in general, so I wasn't disappointed. Everything was clean and that's the most important thing for me. The small square pillows were a bit annoying - I'd prefer a more traditional pillow as I kept falling off them! I would have also appreciated a few toiletries in the bathroom, there was only a hand soap / shower gel dispenser. As for the location, it's in a good position for accessing the old town. Step outside and you are right by all the shops and bars, and a stone's throw from Centralbadet (which was an awesome experience). It's also pretty close to the central train/bus station - around 15 minutes walk. Back in the hotel, the staff were all friendly - no complaints there. I also liked that you could grab a cup of coffee from the self service area whenever you wanted. Breakfast was decent, with some vegan options including soy yoghurt, oat milk, fruits, breads, and cereals. I would definitely consider returning to the Hotel Bentleys next time I am in Sweden!
I would definitely recommend this hotel both for a cozy private trip, but also for a business trip. The lobby is really nice, spacious and light, the staff is very friendly especially Patrik and the other man working the evening shift, very service minded. The rooms were clean, the location was perfect, and the value for money spot on! Thanks for a great stay.
Since more than 25 years I have regularly visited Hotel Bentleys in Stockholm, a Best Western hotel. I must say I never been disappointed. It is an hotel in the centre of the city but not at all close to the loud, dance band music at late night. Here it is quiet, and still close to almost everything in the city centre. The hotel is simple (4-star), not really luxurious but appropriate. Furthermore they have a extraordinary staff. I don't know how they have been able to recruit so competent staff all the time. Now this last time Patrik was just surpassing himself in service and kindness. Coming to the hotel normally in the afternoon I need at least one to two hours preparation for my meeting at the evening. I often ask them to print some papers for me. When I pass the reception the papers are usually already printed, given to me with a smile. As a member of the Academy of Gastronomy in Sweden I have had several observations over the years on the hotel breakfast given at Bentleys. It is now quite OK without any extravagancies. As a matter of fact I eat less and less at breakfast. And what I eat is always fresh and well prepared. On Sundays - if I happen to stay over night at Bentleys the night between Saturday and Sunday - I have a special wish to get a newly boiled egg only five minutes. So far the staff has always provided me with that. Over the years so many good people have heard my wish and willingly helped to deliver such an egg. I remember Amir, Neda, Gajane and several others. All professionals. I wish Hotel Bentleys all the best and express my gratitude for so many years's service of utmost class. Dr Martin Lind
Just back from a most pleasant 4-night stay at this pretty hotel. Our room (308) was really lovely, plenty of space for two people, a clean well appointed bathroom and a super comfortable bed. The staff were polite & helpful, the breakfast plentiful and beautifully presented. We had no trouble finding a table, for six people, each morning, and it was great to have so many vegan (& gluten-free) options available. The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring the city, and the lounge/lobby is a really lovely, airy space in which to sit with friends and enjoy either a drink from the bar, or the free tea, coffee and snacks, which are available all day. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The first night we stayed here, I was awoken at 6:45 am to the sound of what I can only describe as battle mammoths from a scene out of LOTR assembling in the center courtyard breakfast area. However, I couldn't be certain of what I heard because the room temperature had plummeted during the night, and my ears were frozen. A quick look out the window into the courtyard calmed my fears that, in fact, this wasn't the case. (But I was sort of hoping.) We turned up the heat in the room the previous evening, and it seemed to warm up. But by morning, the heaters were ice cold. Maybe the rooms are the perfect temperature for hearty Scandinavian folks (or arctic foxes), but it was well below my comfort zone. We planned to sleep in until our 9 am breakfast time, so the early morning noise was disappointing. We watched the breakfast crowd from our room for the next two hours, sadly realizing there would be no tables when our breakfast time came up. We sat in the reception area for 15 more minutes waiting for a table. After breakfast, we asked about the cold room. The staff offered us a different (slightly larger) room that was somewhat warmer but still chilly by morning. You can't win ‘em all. Downside: Small, cold rooms, not enough tables even with a reserved breakfast time, and ungodly noise from sliding chairs in the breakfast area. Upside: Free cookies, coffee, and tea (all day!), good breakfast, very clean rooms with comfy beds, and an excellent location.
One of the worst hotel I have never had. We arrived at 10 and rooms were not able for us but for the person before they were. We let out luggage and we went outside. We come back around 19h and we Checked in. The person at the front office told ask we have to book for breakfast, we said ok at 9h30 , he said is not possible we are full, I asked for 10h and it was also full. So I asked 9am he said it was possible just between 7h30 and 8h30. So I said That I was disagree with that because they could ask me at the morning to book it ! I was at 10h30 at the hotel!!!!! Also I have booked at double queen size room but I had a Twin room. Anywhere were said that we need to book for breakfast, and they didn't want to change our room today, because they are full. The person at the front desk was unkind and unfriendly. I would NOT recommend this hotel with such service. Go far away!
We were staying at the hotel for a couple days. We had a decent stay our few days there. The major thing I can complain about is the manger who runs the hotel. She was very friendly but she was heavily intoxicated every time we met her. I find it very unprofessional to be drunk while working and greeting the hotel's guests
This is generally a good and comfortable hotel. The reason for my relatively low rating is that the smaller rooms (the Queen room which I stayed in) are even smaller than expected. The room is accurately described on the website as 12 square m. This is fair for Stockholm, what is not fair is that the description and pictures of the room disguise the fact that this is an attic room, and the entire ceiling slopes drastically, so that it is impossible to stand up in one third of the room. There are also exposed wooden beams which are attractive, but which protrude into the room, also taking up space. The result is that out of the 12 square m., it is actually only possible to stand and move around on 5 of them. So if you book a queen room, be aware of this, or perhaps choose another room. Otherwise, the hotel is good, clean, the bed comfortable, good service, room was sufficiently heated in winter. Bathroom modern. The upside of the room was the window was above the glass ceiling, so very quiet. Wifi patchy on 5th floor. Breakfast had better selection that usual for Stockholm (eggs, bacon, pancakes etc.) but quality not that great.
I booked this hotel to try this chain of hotels. The hotel is situated in city centre, on a shopping street. The reception is in an indoors courtyard where also is served breakfast, wich has appealed to me. The rooms are nice , especially the bathroom, with nice decoration and cosy style. All in all, I had a lovely stay. The only downside of the stay was , next door people were continuously going in and out from the balcony which is connected with the other rooms, standing by , making noise to go to smoke, and till late in the night creaking noise from the door. This was quite annoying.
My sister and I stayed at this hotel when we visited my daughter who is studying in Stockholm. First we had a room that was really small. When we commented about it they showed us another room that was a little bit bigger. So it was no problem to move to another room. Also when we had a question the people at the reception were very friendly and helpfull. Especially the hotel manager Titi was such a lovely lady. The hotel is centrally situated. The breakfast area is very nice and you can get free coffee and cookies every time of the day. We liked staying there !
Great stay in the middle of Stockholm, everything was great, nothing to complain about. Extra plus for the cozy rooms & staff! Very clean, good breakfast, nice tv & the best hotel bed i have slept in! Big thumbs up!
We really enjoyed the time we spent here. Service, breakfast, staff - Everything was brilliant. Friendly and relaxed staff, we noticed that they went that extra bit for all guest's, not just us. Rooms where lovely aswell, we'd definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Great hotel in a central location. Close to restaurants, bars and whatever else you need, and not far away from the central station. Lovely and very helpful staff that answered all my questions and provided me with great recommendations. Room was clean and tidy too
We stayed at Bentleys this past weekend and we just had an amazing stay. We celebrated our anniversary, and had mentioned this when we arrived at the hotel. The next day we where surprised with a small fruit plate, which made us feel special.
The perfect place to stay in Stockholm. Very good location, close to central station. Very welcoming and helpful staff all day. Nice, clean and quiet room. Good and variated breakfast, also for vegans. Coffee, tea, icewater, juice and cakes available for free all day at the lobby. It was a big, very light and beautifully designed and decorated room. All in all a very positive experience
Great experience, staff welcoming and professional with a smile. Every service has been provided with accent on quality. Clean room with good vibe. Bathroom was with enough room for two. The breakfast was the best part. We have never been so looking forward a meal in a hotel as in Best Western Bentleys. Thank you again.
We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The hotel has an excellent location and our room was clean and cozy. The staff was always nice and helpful and the breakfast was really good, the quality and selection of foods was great. The only negative thing was that the room could get a bit hot since we stayed during some hot summer days, but personally I didn't mind it too much and we had a fan in our room. I'd come back another time! :)
Amazing suite in the center of Stockholm and fantastic host Dara. Highly recommendeding! Breakfast is up to late and the main area has a lot of light coming in which makes it a great place for work :)
I stayed at hotel bentleys for a month I moved from another hotel I was staying at. This hotel has a great courtyard reception area where I constantly work and the staff is quick to help with any need to help me. I can't wait to come back to Stockholm and stay at this place.
It's conveniently located about 15 minutes' walk from Central Station. The lounge area is beautiful. The room was extremely small, though, and at times there was noise from other rooms. Once, a bunch of young people were having a party in the room next door, making a big noise at night. When I complained to the reception, they moved me to a different room. The reception staff were all friendly, and tried to be helpful, but some were more efficient than others. Breakfast buffet was OK, but nothing special. Coffee was available in the lounge at any time. Would I stay here again? Probably not.
This is my second stay and this hotel is one of my favourite hotels in Stockholm,Sweden. Great location in the heart of city centre Drottninggatan. Walking distance from centralstation. The staff is very friendly, helpful and excellent service always.I will definitely come back soon again. The rooms are very cosy and clean. I love the interiors of the lobby and its perfect for business meetings.
I have traveled across the world and am a diamond select member at best western. This place is newly remodeled and is an amazing location in center of everything. The parking is expensive on the street approx $30 us daily. But honestly dont really need a car at this location as everything is just right around the corner including the subway. Highly recommend this location
I stayed for two nights in this hotel and I liked it very much. The service was good. The breakfast buffé was very good with all you can wish. In the evening I had a glass of wine on my own....It felt like I was the only guest in the hotel! After the first night the room wasn`t cleaned and that surprised me, but didn`t care too much.
Location is fantastic, right on the pedestrian zone and an easy walk down to the water. Breakfast I thought was good. The rooms themselves were very old and shabby with stains on the walls, peelings, scratched furniture, etc. Our room was 'ok' meaning we actually had room to walk around. Our friend's room was SO SMALL they would have to take turns walking across it. It's ridiculous and we wouldn't come back here.
Most of the problem comes from the fact that there is a lot about the stay that was hiding. First of all we booked a standard double room. It did not reflect the pictures that the hotel puts on websites for bookings. Needless to say that two beds joined together does not make a double room but rather a twin beds room. We did not expect the aspect and surface from a 4*. But the most bothering problem is that there is rooms that have windows on the reception side which makes them very hot even without the warmer on (because they're naturally warmed by the reception main warmer) and giving a constant feeling of heavy air. The breakfast is average, with only rudiments. Toasts, cheese, pancakes, sausage, (little burned) beacon and crudité. Other than that, the personnel is nice, very welcoming and gives all the time to explain where-to-gos of the city and the general culture.
The service was terrible. After the first night the room wasn't cleaned. Seemingly we had to hang the clean up my room card on the door. Would have been nice if they had told us that upon check-in. Upon complaining at the front desk, the lady wasn't helpful at all and we couldn't get clean towels. Not the service I would expect...
Just a great value booking ! I was a bit sceptical about such a tiny room, but there was everything inside. Bathroom was good, it was a mission to watch TV with no possibility to do it while laying on the bed, but for the rest it was enough. Pay attention during the summer, because I didn't see the air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent. I can't miss to say that coffe at the lobby was free of charge and that I enjoyed it a lot! Thanks BW. If you are staying briefly, you need place in center to walk to Central Rail Station with great breakfast and free & high quality coffee, that's it, (except hot days summer). Cheers
Amazing place if you consider ration price/overall quality. Nice spot into the shopping district of Stockholm, with lots of restaurants around. Clean room... and more than average breakfast buffet with real good pancakes and waffles!
I would recommend this hotel based on its location and the good service. The room was tiny but the lounge area was available with access to comfy seats and warm drinks. The Wi-fi was good which came in handy when. The tv wasn't working!
Everything was so Perfect. We Stayed their for 3 nights. We all are so Satisfied with Staff and their Service.felt like we are at home.my daughter Gleam wants to stay more but unfortunately we had to travel to our home town.
An excellent budget hotel centrally located in Stockholm. My reference is a small double room. The room was small but nice and well planned in every detail. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom large in relation to the room, here you can have company in the shower if the desire is there. Large TV, a fan and extra heat fan for hot and cold days. A small desk is also in place. I missed nothing at breakfast which is served in the nice glazed courtyard. I am very pleased with this hotel.
Very well run hotel with way above average customer service. Located on one of the city's main pedestrian shopping streets with myriad dining choices and 1 K away from the Central Station and Armand Express (to airport). Excellent buffet breakfast in cavernous multi-storied lobby plus access to superb coffee all day.
The hotel is very well located. Only 15 minutes walk from the beginning of the Gamla Stan. It has many restaurants and coffee places really close. The room was ok, but had little storing place. The bed was confortable and the bathroom clean. Wifi worked fine, although you had to register with your email. The breakfast buffet was fine but not many fruit options.
The hotel was not bad for the price. The room was small but it was expected. There are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants around the area. There is a bakery (Fabrique) nearby which has great bread. Otherwise, the hotel is average, nothing bad but nothing spectacular. But, I can honestly say that their free coffee in the lobby was very very good.
The hotel is on the main walking and shopping street in about 1 km from the Central Station. The central part of the hotel is a dining area with a glass rooftop. The room was clean but very-very small, there was almost no place to move around the bed. There is no AC in the rooms, so the summer nights could be pretty hot. The breakfast is really various and delicious. There is a coffee machine with fresh coffee and some cookies for free all day long in the dining area. We asked and got a breakfast box for the last morning because of the early leaving.
Great place, in the center on the city, nicely renovated and decorated unique, fantastic breakfast clean rooms nice bathroom, coffee and tea all day in the lobby. We got the Queen Room and and it was SO SMAL (we saw at the reservation that it is 12 m² but still) two people can move one by one at the time, like a chess pieces to get to the other part of the room.
The hotel is located right on the city's main shopping street which is just a 10-15 minute walk from Central Station and the Old Town. I couldn't ask for a better location! The open air courtyard/atrium serves as the reception and a nice area where you can dine and hang out with your travel party. A delicious and generous breakfast spread is served in this area every morning. At breakfast they serve everything from Swedish meatballs, to scrambled eggs and bacon, excellent variety.. this was definitely a highlight of our stay here. The hotel rooms are small, simple and clean. The Wifi signal is strong and easy to use. I would say that the worst aspect of the room is that it didn't have AC or a window. We came during a very warm week in Stockholm and the room was uncomfortably hot and stuffy. The fact that we didn't have a window made it even worse... While I understand that Scandinavian hotels don't generally need AC for most of the year, large hotel chains should consider adding them to the rooms for the busy summer tourist season which is when it is most needed. The person at the front desk was very understanding about our needs and gave us three huge fans which helped us a great deal! She even offered to change our room for one with a window the following day but we were ok with the fans. The service at this hotel was greatt! The location, service, breakfast and price make this hotel a great find! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other travelers. For those coming in the summer months please request a room with a window or ask for a lot of fans!
What a lovely hotel but don't judge the hotel by its entrance.A small door onto a busy shopping street leads to dark entrance stairs but turn the corner and you're in a wonderful covered atrium with comfortable seats and the hotel check-in desk. Our room was a clean, functional, twin with a balcony overlooking the atrium. The bathroom was modern and refurbished. Breakfast was wonderful - lots of choice. Tea and good coffee, cakes and biscuits are available 24/7 in the atrium as well as standard tea and coffee in room. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and gave us lots of tips on getting around Stockholm. Location is great - near to the metro, central station and loads of eateries. If you want a modern boxy hotel with the same every day room this hotel isn't for you but if you want something different, clean and functional it's a gem.
A very pleasant 3 night stay in a hotel in what was previously an apartment block with the apartments opening onto an open courtyard. The courtyard is now roofed in glass and is the breakfast, sitting and reception area with all rooms except the 5th floor opening on to it. The staff are friendly and efficient and the breakfast excellent. The rooms are very good even if not your usual hotel rooms.
Really great location, clean rooms and a friendly team. The only downside is the rooms are sweltering. We had a room onlooking the restaurant and it was so hot. Fans are provided in the rooms but they offered minimal relief!
Such an interesting and lovely stay. We enjoyed the city and all it could offer. The hotel was neat and the food was good. We especially enjoyed the traditional food it offered which added to our experience.
The hotel is in a very good location 20 minutes walk from the central bus station, the staff is friendly, good and tasty breakfast, the room is large and clean. Suitable for couples and friends. Recommend
Interior - Ambience Size of the guest room. Just one recommendation, a refridgerator in the room might add some more comfort to the guests. It is reccomended and we'll prefere it in case of a future visit at Stockholm.
This is an extraordinarily different hotel experience, in the positive sense. At first, the large central, enclosed inner courtyard/atrium seemed incongruous for an older-style hotel - but this was strangely elegant and very functional. Rooms were good, with modern shower rooms with under-floor heating. Breakfast in the spacious airiness of the inner courtyard was really enjoyable, and the staff were incredibly efficient and helpful. Then, the location on Queen''s street was perfect.
I booked this hotel and I was allocated in a claustrophobic minimum room in the underground, with no air conditioning or a window that I could open. The bathroom smells and you have no privacy at all. The night receptionist didn't even know where the room was and we had to discover ourselves in the moment of arrival. I want to cry every time I get inside the room. Also there are several stairs for you to carry your bag with no help from the staff and my mother is 70! Do not recommend. Keep away, this is not a 4 star hotel, this is a nightmare with a small ventilator.
It is well located, you can go walking to every place. many restaurants near. At the reception desk they are wonderfull. the breakfast is really good. the bed is comfortable and it is a quiet hotel. we enjoyed it.
As a base to explore Stockholm you could not wish for a better base. In the heart of the shopping district but close to several attractions - the Strindberg museum is just a few doors up. Excellent coffee shops around the corner and a Fabrique bakery opposite. A light airy courtyard gives you the perfect space to unwind after a long sightseeing expedition. Lovely breakfasts and very attentive helpful staff. I was a nightmare guest changing my room and my departure time but the ever present Marie and her team were so understanding. Whatever they are paying Marie it is not enough. I'll be back.
The hotel is very well located, brilliant sitting room, excellent breakfast. Reception staff very helpful and polite could not do enough to look after us. Maybe it needs a bit of room renovation. Otherwise an excellent choice. Strongly recommended.
This hotel is an "old lady". Comfortable with warm atmosphare. The enterior is sweet. The rooms are not new but you have a good feeling there. Only one think what is maybe not the best, that the staff eat their lunch in the guest area.
We came to Stocholm to celebrate my husbands birthday. We chose this hotel for its location and for the budget price it offered. We ended up having a great time and getting much more than we expected from this hotel. Thank you for a great team, delicious breakfast and unforgetable vacations.
We were right at home here, even after making an error and booking the wrong night through Expedia. The staff was very understanding and woman at the counter helped find us a new room without a fee. Furthermore, the interior was beautiful.. we loved the glass verandah feeling of the lobby. The rooms were cozy and had all the necessary amenities to feel at home, and the breakfast was equally as comforting with kind staff making sure everything was running smoothly. The location is also excellent, on a vibrant cobble stone street in central Stockholm, not a far walk from the main train station. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next visit.
I highly recommend this hotel!! Great location, 10 minutes to Central station and 15 minutes to Gamla Stan by foot. We even walked to Djurgarden. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Especially the lovely arab woman with glasses on reception, we didn't get her name :) We booked a smaller room with king size bed and they upgraded our room to standard double room which was a very nice surprise. We even got to pick between colder room (street view) and warmer one (lobby side). Altough our room was on the street side, there was no noise from the street at all. Room was wonderful, recently refurnished and very clean, as well as the bathroom. Bed is big and confortable. Lobby is stunning and we loved the opportunity of hanging out there before and after going out. Staying in January, free coffe/tea/biscuits 0-24 was such a great thing. They even organized a guest event in the lobby for guests to get to know the hotel staff and served champagne, hors d'ouvres and cupcakes for the guests. Breakfast was delicious and rich in choice. Everything was great about our stay in this hotel, thanks a lot and hopefully we'll see you soon.
This hotel is so central for Stockholm, but such value for money in an expensive Scandinavian country. The staff were immediately friendly and the whole location for the included (superb) breakfast is just stunning, SO quiet and really appreciated huge flat screen TV for evening winter chilling out.
nice breakfast.got upgraded to a room with a balcony over Queen's Street. great location. friendly staff. worth the stay and money. organized a Lucia celebration on the morning of Dec 13th. great fun.
We had an issue with housekeeping service (the room was poorly cleaned, dirty glasses were not replaced for two days, the floor wasn't vacuumed and the bed sheets were not changed (even though there was a dirty spot). When we called the reception to report the issue, the receptionist was rude, interrupted me several times when i was talking and didn't even apologize. They definitely need some proper training on customer service. The hotel does not meet the 4star requirements. There is no fridge, safe, bath robes and slippers in the room. The breakfast was good but there were no changes in the menu - one may get bored eating the same food if staying long. The coffee is terrible and tastes like instant, the coffee machine needs replacement.
On arrival I found that I had been upgraded from a small single to a standard single. This was a nice surprise until I found that the room was on the first floor and overlooked reception and the central courtyard. I could hear the music and people talking which was not great. I returned to reception to ask if I could move rooms. This was no trouble and I was upgraded to a lovely quiet room on the 5th floor. The staff were brilliant, the room was excellent, the breakfast was great and plentiful and the old-fashioned lift added a real touch of character. All in all, a great stay in a great location.
I was impressed by the interior of the lobby/courtyard when I checked in. I got a single room facing street upon my request after reading the reviews here which was absolutely right - my top floor room facing street is much better, room is opened to a big balcony and can access some fresh air. But, the room is so tiny which I expected after reading reviews here, it is clean and tiny, but it got kind of cold at night. Bathroom is good size but also cold, no heating in October yet I guess. The shower is fine, but the wall between shower and toilet is so small it is really useless, water ended up everywhere. Most disappointing is the breakfast, it is just so basic, nothing special and not very good quality. This is not up to a 4 star standard. Overall it is not a very good value, but OK!
Just got back from our stay and honestly couldn't fault this hotel. On check in the reception staff were so friendly. We were located in room 411 which was fab... small... but just want we needed. We were only in the room to sleep. The shower was lovely looks newly renovated!! Location is perfect!! Close to everything we needed. Lots of bars and restaurants near by and plenty of shops. The breakfast is amazing!! Filled us up right round to dinner Highly recommend this place
Rooms with window to internal patio / restaurant are very noisy , the roof on the top make Echo and even you ask Maria t reduce music - she looks at you like crazy , so stuff not consider with clients at all On the other hand ; location very good 15 min from many attractions, breakfast good too Some rooms very narrow And if you order twin bad - hotel will not give you !!!
Bentleys is not a luxury hotel and doesn't charge luxury prices. The rooms don't have air conditioning which might be a problem in hotter weather. The rooms aren't big and a single room (which I was not it) might be TOO small. But there are plus-points: it's only about 10 minutes' walk from Stockholm's Central Station; the staff were friendly and helpful; the central breakfast-area (in the court in the centre of the hotel, but roofed over) is pleasant and the breakfast itself was attractively presented. Not a good choice if you want to spend a lot of time in your room - but most travellers don't want to do that.
Difficult to have a definitive statement about Bentleys: on the first day, temperature was in the range of 30/32°C, the lady at the desk was not particularly welcoming and gave us this terrible 109 room; after climbing the stairs with a heavy luggage, we could discover a closed room with no window opening and a view limited by the building across the street; looking for the air conditioner, it was just absent and I came back to the reception with this lady offering for free an electric fan with this opportunity to come back to the desk on the following morning for a possible different room. If I had a pet animal I would refuse this 109 room to host her, the only left possibility is to store luggage in this horrible place located over a pizzeria with the only floor separating this "sleeping" room from the restaurant. No need to precise that my request, when booking the room, was "silent room, open view, and upper floor": we just got the opposite! Fortunately, this not welcoming lady was out of the office when I came back to ask for the manager and a very positive guy gave us a room worth living it. Breakfast is ok and personnel do their best when the not welcoming lady is not at the desk. Bentleys has no air conditioner in any room and is ideally located in the very centre of Stockholm, from where you can easily walk and visit any place in the old city, around the harbour or Djurdarden with the Vasa museum, Tivoli or the zoo and ancient houses from Sweden.
in spite of the qualities of the service( check in,breakfast...) I would not recommand this hotel:single room much too small(about 7m2)and too expensive. No climatisation,35`,no repairing nights, I caught illness.
This hotel is in part of the pedestrianised zone, and we got off the bad start when our tax dropped us off two blocks below and vaguely pointed up hill. The signage was not obvious until right upon the Hotel, and then there was the difficult ascent from the streets with our luggage. Once inside, the lifts came in to play and ascent to our room was more straight-forward. The room was small but comfortable, with a window opening on to the courtyard where breakfast was served. While not an expansive buffet we found the breakfast quite good. This is a nice hotel but best suited to the younger generations given the access issues.
I have returned home today from my weekend staying at this hotel. Pleasant hotel, staff, breakfast BUT very little sleep due to heat. No air con, no air. My room faced the inner courtyard which is covered in glass with just a few small windows thus trapping the heat. I would not stay here again even if the weather was cooler. An unpleasant experience until the hotel installs more windows or a sliding roof.
Well, this is a nice place with a very good location. We went to visit when it was 30 degrees in Stockholm, and with no A/C or windows for fresh air this was horrible!! We had a small fan, but wasn't for much help. I was literally laying still in my bed while sweating. Hopefully the hotel learn and do something about this HUGE problem. Anyhow, good breakfast, good location and charming(but small) rooms!
We stayed here for five nights in the middle of July. Here are our opinions: Pro: location - 13 minutes walking distance from the central bus station. Tourist area starts from here. Many restaurants and shops are nearby. Jappi, Sushi and wok, is next door and is pretty good. Palace and old town are only 15 min walking distance. Staff are kind and continental breakfast is good. Cold water, tea, coffee, apples, and cookies are available all the time. Con: hot - They do not have any airconditioning at lobby, nor in our room. The big atrium, where lobby is located and breakfast is served, is covered by glass ceilings and heat is trapped here like a greenhouse. So, it is always hotter here than outside. The windows of our room are open to this atrium. Hotel does not have an airconditioning. They provided us with a tiny fan. Our room was very hot and we could not sleep well at night. Americans who are used to sleep at the airconditioning room will have a tough time to sleep here during summer. But, winter might be o.k.
My sister and I booked this hotel on advice from a friend. So glad we made this our base while in Stockholm! Staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating and made us feel at home. The room was tiny but had access to the roof terrace overlooking old rooftops. We really loved this place and would highly recommend it to others. Easy to find, walking distance to attractions and close to some lovely cafes and restaurants. Would definitely return here
I stayed in there for two times. Generally their breakfast was really good and it has a nice location. It was totally good at my first visit but in my second visit, i did not like at all. Because during the breakfast hours, all noise came into my room due to the bad isolation. And even though i put do not disturb sign to my room door, the person who is responsible from cleaning entered to my room. It was little bit annoying. But generally they have really nice staff and you can drink free tea-coffee for all day. It is worth!
I had left my mobile phone in the taxi that brought me to the hotel, noticed it missing half an hour after check-in. I had no receipt of the taxi ride, no driver or company ID, nothing to get hold of the vehicle. The cheerful, calm, professional and very competent staff at the front desk, Fanny, was incredibly helpful and resourceful and managed to get the phone back within an hour. Amazing! Thanks so much, again. Also, the inner courtyard is gorgeous, the breakfast delicious and the location really good if you want or need to stay in this part of town.
The hotel is situated on the main shopping road and only a 10-15 minute walk from the main railway station. Quirky hotel with a stunning main entrance hall where breakfast is served. Can get a bit hot as it is not air conditioned and has a glass roof. Bedrooms quite small but perfectly adequate for a city break hotel. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was excellent. Things to be aware of - no air conditioning in the room although lovely big windows you can open and no safe in the room. Breakfast was continental mainly but very good and lots of it. Staff on reception were always happy and friendly and able to answer any questions we had.
This hotel is located in the one of the most happening areas of Stockholm. It is close to a lot of good multi cuisine restaurants, Central station and if you are in good shape you can walk pretty much all the tourist locations in Stockholm. The breakfast spread is awesome with a good selection of hot and cold breakfast... The staff at the front desk is very pleasant and helpful . Couldnt have asked for a better deal for such a good location . The street also has all kind of shopping stores for both souvenirs and otherwise. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and wish we could have stayed here. The only con is the room was small , but given that we spent our time only for shower and sleep , it was perfect .
Lovely property with classic architecture, comfy, cosy, walking distance from all important areas. Located in the main shopping road in Stockholm, we managed to do all of the sights by walking - super close to underground and the main train station leading to the airport.
Hotel was worth for the money. Located about 1km far from Stockholm Central Train and bus station. Also very close to the main shopping street. Staff was helpful. Rooms are spacious enough when you compare other hotel room, especially in Stockholm. Breakfast was good.
When I arrived, I was told that somehow a booking company canceled my reservation, and hotel was full. However Kristina at Front Desk came to my rescue and solved the problem. Single bed for one night and then 3 nights in a very roomy queen outside (street view) room. Breakfasts were quite complete. Easy walk to Old Town. Front Desk staff was always extremely helpful. Enjoyed my stay and hopefully will return. Ask for room with outside window.
The location is rated the most, and surely it is so. Otherwise, the hotel is pretty much average and definitely not a 4star hotel. Few month ago we were staying in 4stars hotel in Vienna and that was a very positive experience! Do not agree to stay in room with windows to inner yard. The hotel has inner yard made as atrium. It looks good, but to sleep with it it's impossible. The room we had was very small. And we knew it. However, during the booking there was no mention, that the windows will be to atrium! So, as the room is small there was no air at all and when you open the window, all noise, and talks and breakfast sounds and smells in the morning are all the way with you. Good sleep was impossible. Breakfast is absolutely ordinary, nothing special, definitely not a 4star experience. However, the stay overall was quite cheap and good located, but not sure to repeat it again.
A very well located hotel, right in the heart of the city. It's at the ‘top' end of the main pedestrian road. Many places are an easy walk away, including cafes, bars and restaurants. The hotel has a covered courtyard where the dining facility is also located, along with reception. On approaching the hotel you might get the wrong impression as there is just the double door entrance visible. Ringing the bell gains swift entry. The reception and the receptionist provided a warm welcome and was quickly dealt with. The rooms are certainly compact but provide everything necessary and were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast provided for every reasonable taste from cooked to continental. There is also a 24hour refreshment table in the reception courtyard as well as comfortable seating. The rooms have excellent modern bathrooms - including a hairdryer. All in all, a useful city centre hotel with superb staff, an excellent breakfast and reasonable value.
Unfortunately this hotel only has wifi which caters to paying customers on lower levels. If you have paid for a room and have the misfortune of being placed in a room on the fifth floor, the wifi does not reach you. In 2018 it should not be difficult to provide wifi that all customers can access. I could understand if it maybe didn't reach the fifth floor in the early 2000s, but we are no longer in the early 2000s. So many people rely on wifi, for business, leisure, planning their travels, contacting friends and family etc. and for a good hotel in a CAPITAL city to not offer this basic service to all customers is frankly a disgrace. The fact that the hotel was otherwise mostly good is the only thing that saved this from being a 1 star review. Last night I tried to call home using wifi and was disconnected no less than 6 times because the wifi was not strong enough and did not stay strong enough for a basic Facebook phone call. I could barely use the Internet in my room (level 5) and was quite frankly relieved to be moving on the next day as the situation was totally distressing and inadequate. This may sound ridiculous over some wifi, but wifi is so crucial these days. Like it or not, the internet is the primary source of information and contact for many people, and to not provide this service to all customers puts those who, through no fault of their own, are deemed unworthy of this basic service in an extremely difficult situation. There were also few gluten free options at breakfast and on my last day my room was not cleaned, but these were minor niggles that I wouldn't otherwise have mentioned if I wasn't so furious about the wifi I felt the need to leave a review. On the plus side, the rooms are comfortable (no heating issues as others have complained of), and the hotel is stylish. The only other issue is the elevator, which is designed such that patrons have to close a gate. In the event that previous users don't close the gate properly, it cannot service other floors. Being stuck on the fifth floor with my luggage as the previous elevator user hadn't closed the gate correctly was quite an issue. Long story short - if you don't want or need a basic wifi service this hotel is excellent, but if you live in the 21st century and own any device whatsoever you are better to take your money elsewhere.
Stayed her during my work trip to Stockholm, didn't know anything about it, but I was very satisfied. Close to lots of restaurants and shops, also really close to Central station without the dodgy "central station area" feeling. Strong and stable Wi-Fi, not too many tv-stations, but I don't really watch tv when in a hotel. Breakfast was a bit dull and tasteless, if it's not included, choose somewhere else to eat. "Fika" is always available, so if you need a snack or coffee you'll find something in the reception area. I stayed at level 5 with my own "balcony". Don't know if they sell my room as a double, if they do, then it's not a lot of space for your luggage.
Just visited Stockholm for 3 days and had 3 nights in this lovely smart, beautifully situated hotel. Spot on in the middle of the main shopping area of the city. The room was on the 2nd floor at the front overlooking the main pedestrianised thoroughfare. A more than adequate size room and well equipped even to the point of a fan heater to augment the heating! and the underfloor heating in the wet/shower room. Buffet breakfast was lovely with a good selection to suit everyone. Tea and coffee facilities in the room plus complimentary drinks, cake etc available continuously in the atrium. No other meals but being in such a fantastic location plenty of choice in the surrounding area. Staff, especially reception, very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is one km far from the Central Station in the pedestrian street Drottninggatan. The hotel have a inside area (cover with transparent glass) where the breakfast is served and where the reception is. Very nice to stay there and drink a coffee in the morning. We stay in a room with balcony over this area. The room is small but with very nice furniture and very clean. The hotel is walking distance from Old Town, Royal Palace, City Hall and many other Stockholm attraction.
The hotel is all in all very nice... the service, the food, the location, the cleaning, the style, the moring buffet, the smal snacks which are available all the time... was very good BUT the wifi connection was very bad
The hotel is amazingly located in the middle of the city, 10 mins walking from the central station and 5 mins walking from the closest bus stop. The lobby you enter in order to get to the reception is really nice, with an old-fashioned elevator and a very welcoming color. The reception is located in the inner yard of the hotel which is actually the place where you can have breakfast or "special dinner for guests" as we were lucky enough to get on our first evening there. The buffet we had for breakfast included both cold and hot dishes and both sweet and sour meals. Everyone can find something on his or her taste, only the vegans may have a problem since they did not come with too many options for a vegan colleague of mine - just some butter and fruits. The single room is a little bit too small but good enough for a business trip and as long as you do not plan to spend to much time inside. It is very stylish with an old-fashioned touch and with nice nuances of purple. The bathroom is big and you can find anything you need inside - towels, shower gel, hair dryer. I would strongly recommend you to get a room at Best Western Hotel Bentleys in Stockholm if you want to enjoy a nice, pleasant and relaxing stay in the capital city of Sweden!
Was on a business trip and found this hotel last minute. It has a great atmosphere in the heart of the City for reasonable price. Friendly and very professional staff. Shopping and good diners nearby. Not to miss.
This is a central Stockholm hotel which has a lovely covered courtyard which is very communal and quirky. The staff are really friendly but the rooms ultra small for single occupancy. Literally not enough room to swing the proverbial feline. Clean and quiet but a little bigger would be good.
Twin room on first floor, overlooking inner courtyard. Courtyard accommodates breakfast area and reception. Window of room opened on to courtyard, so no possibility of fresh air. Room was warm and stuffy. Inner courtyard acoustics strengthen the noise from phones, talk etc. resulting in noisy room. Poor beds, resulting in a bad night's sleep. No bar. Availability of drinks ends at 23:00, so not a place to end the day. Staff starts laying out breakfast at around 05:45, and that is sure to wake you up if staying in room overlooking courtyard. Neat but small bathroom. Colleague arriving later than us was confronted with some kind of water leak in his room, and had to be relocated to other hotel. Average breakfast with machine coffee and e.g. no fresh orange juice.
The location is excellent but choose the room carefully though - some rooms have windows onto the main atrium. We lived at first floor and could hardly sleep due to noice from phones and people talking e t c . I complained and the nice staff asked me to contact the manager. I did and she offered a discount of 15 % !!! Shame!! I will never book this hotel again.
I had booked a standard twin room at BW Bentley's and I knew the room woudn't be a big one, still I was surprised to see how tiny it was. That would have been ok, but the problem was that the windows opened to the inner courtyard where breakfast was served, so there was no possibility to get fresh air into the room. We spent about half an hour in the room and realized it would be a hot, stuffy and sleepless night if we stayed there, so I went to the reception to ask for a room change. The hotel was quite full, but they offered to upgrade us into a superior room for a small extra cost. And what a change! We got a spacious, quiet, airy and beautiful penthouse room! Must gave been the best upgrade ever! The staff at the reception was simply great! Breakfast was quite average, but the pancakes and coffee were delicious. The only minuses were the curtainless roof windows in the room, one above the bed, which made the room a bit too light in the morning and woke us up too early, and the room cleaning, which would have taken place at 16.30, unless we had denied it because we we having a nap after touring around beautiful Stockholm for hours. Anyways, I would definitely choose BW Bentleys again for my next stay in Stockholm,
Twice here and no regret! a bit walk from the train station but the room is very clean and I guess it's very Swedish hotel! It serves nice meatballs for breakfast, the lounge is very modern and cozy. Overall I enjoyed it!
Had to walk a bit from Stockholm Central station (chose not to use the metro which would have got us closer) but the walk was only 15mins. Hotel provided great breakfast in the room rate plus drinks, fruit and biscuits available during the day. Lovely lounge downstairs was available for communal time. Biggest challenge was the stairs to get up to the reception steep. There were lifts in the hotel one very old one which was fun the use of you had not experienced one before. Restaurants were close buy but costs in Sweden although less the Norway are more than home (NZ). Rooms had a jug and cups in the room plus TV but no safe.
Booked a tiny room without windows but bought my own upgrade at the reception : am may be an hotelier of the old school but at my times that was called upselling : on my invoice is stated uppgradering which again an upgrade was an act of courtesy vis a vis guests. Reception and night porter seemed very friendly and so did the (outsourced ? )cleaning and breakfast staff
I had a very small single room under the eaves at the top. It was comfortable. What impressed me though was the friendliness and care for my comfort in this small hotel. Excellent breakfast, coffee or tea always available, good quality amenities. This is an old building that has been charmingly renovated and offers solid value for price.
Had a single room on the top floor. Small space but just what I needed. Only problem was the heating didn't work and I woke up sick the following morning. The management couldn't do anything about it as there was no maintenance to look.
The 'single standard' room was booked for me for my 3-night stay. The location is central and easy accessible. From Stockholm C, if your luggage isn't too heavy you can just walk to the hotel which I did both ways. The room I received was surprisingly spacious for single occupancy. I had room to spread out my stuff comfortably. It was a corner room with balcony on the third floor. There was a coat hanging area before entering into the bedroom area. The bathroom seemed newly renovated, everything was working fine and I liked that the floor was heated. The staff was friendly. Now, onto the reasons I cannot give this hotel 5 stars. The bed was too soft and not really comfortable. Even though it's a very tiny twin size, but I really think it could be better. The breakfast was not good for my standard. I stayed in 3 different hotels during my 2-week trip in Sweden and the breakfast at this hotel was not comparable and lower in food quality. It may be good if you compare to most American motel chains and I guess that's why many reviewers have praised the breakfast here. The last issue was the noise from the middle courtyard on the bottom floor which travels up to the room as a result of the hollow structure of the hotel. I could hear echoes until very late at night and then at 6am in the morning when people started getting breakfast. So I didn't get any good night sleep during my stay here. It's such a shame because otherwise it would have been a comfortable stay. I don't know if staying on the fourth floor would fix this issue, but I'm reluctant to return to this property as I need my quality sleep.
My single room was rather small but for Swedish prices reasonable. I was offered an upgrade on arrival but declined. I should have asked if this would be a free upgrade but didn't. There was no bedside lamp and I asked for one at reception. The second person I asked, Fanny, went out of her way to find one w hich made my bedtime much more comfortable. So, thank you, Fanny. I also needed boarding passes printed which was done very quickly. Breakfast was also very good - buffet style. The hotel is very central and easily walkable from the Central Station.
Rooms are small but nice. Reseption is very nice. Brekfast is good and the service is exelante. The location is perfect for everyone that want to stay downtown Stockholm. A very good Italian restaurant next door.
Good location. But: Tiniest room I've ever seen. Cleanliness is approximative ( stains on the wall and dust under the bed) Bed is not very comfortable. Room is very noisy. The staff is not professional: the people from the room close to mine were very noisy, the music was loud and they shouted a lot. I first complained at the reception at 7pm. They told me they can't do anything at that time regarding the noise because it is too early. Sorry dear staff: there is no time for noise in a hotel! A hotel is for sleeping and resting ; it is not a night club! Finally I've had to complain 3 times before someone at the reception took into account my request. And at 1am someone talked to the noisy clients. There is no easy access for disabled. I've been surprised to see the receptionist carrying a disabled client on his wheelchair in the stairs at the entrance. The window cannot be opened. Then you can't have fresh air in the room. Finally it is too expensive for poor quality. Even in Stockholm which is an expensive city. This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. First time I am disappointed by a Best Western hotel. Generally they provide the same standard of quality all over the world.
Old building that was converted into a new hotel. Elevator is antic but the rooms are modern and comfortable. Breakfast is great and a rich buffet in served in a nice internal courtyard. Service is kind and helpful.
Spent 2 nights at the end of july 2017. Was a nice old bulding, great location, beautiful central cortyard with terffic breakfast. But extreemly small room overlooked cortyard that had glass roof so no outside air ( no AC) . Stockholm not hot in summer but had to have front desk bring in a fan, still to warm for quality sleep.
The Best Western Hotel Bentleys is a fantastic hotel . The rooms are very good . The breakfast is nice and it is a hotel near the center of the town . I think it is one of the best hotels of Sweden . If i return to Sweden , i take these hotel again .
Previous reviews have noted the friendly staff (check), the great location (conveniently central - walking distance - to shops, restaurants, Central Station, and hop-on-hop-off bus and boat facilities), the terrific breakfasts (big shout-out), and small rooms (quite sufficient for sleeping and showering). The quaint (or antiquated) cage elevator can be tiresome when other guests don't close the cage door on exiting, and it doesn't operate, but that's a minor quibble. I had an unexpected laundry requirement which was horrendously expensive, as hotel laundry tends to be: beware. Despite a previous review, I found the hotel to be quiet, but opening and securing a loft-room window for some fresh air defeated me. A pleasant two-night stay, and I'll certainly return.
This hotel is situated at the attractive northern end of Drottninggatan ("Queen Street") which is within walking distance of the Stockholm central railway station if you are fit and if your luggage has wheels. Otherwise you need an expensive taxi. If the street name sounds familiar it is because further south in the street (which there is full of boring 1970's shops) earlier this year an islamofascist maniac murdered several people by driving a lorry into them in perverse ingratitude for Sweden's generous asylum policy. The hotel is a modernised 19th Century building of 5 floors arranged around a courtyard which has now been roofed over with glass. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms which is the source of the weakness of this hotel. In summer to stop the rooms getting too warm one has to open the windows which all open into the courtyard and this is a permanent source of noise- either braying guests at midnight as last night or the clatter and conversation of the hotel staff at 6 am as they prepare for breakfast. There is more noise too because the self-closing bedroom doors close with a loud thump which vibrates down the corridors. The bedrooms, which are in good condition, are too small if you are in Stockholm on business but they are just about big enough if you are a tourist. I have been here for three summer visits and the visitors have been predominantly Swedish families. The breakfast buffet is good. The hotel does not serve food other than breakfast but there are lots of restaurants cafes and bars nearby.
A hotel I stayed at several times earlier. Good response from the staff, quick check-in and something has happened to the hotel's ventilation, it's not as hot as before (positive change). And as always free coffee. Good breakfast buffet with a variety of choices, in a nice setting in the courtyard. Is likely to return
We really liked the location of this hotel! Super close to the main shopping area, but also close to some great restaurants, cool parcs and not too far from the Old City. Room was (very) small, but clean. Best deal is the included breakfast, which is pretty awesome!!! Plus the people were very, very friendly and helpful! Would stay here again!
I arrived at 2:00am due to delayed flight but the concierge was very helpful and booked me in quickly so I could get to my room. The room was a single, with separate toilet/shower and apart from being very small, it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in my room price and is the usual European cold buffet with croissants, bread rolls, meats and cheese etc. It was all fine but I doubt the 4* that has been allocated to it and that is why I have only given an 'average' on here, if it was graded properly I would have given it a better rating.
I enjoyed this hotel and stayed 2 nights with breakfast, The breakfast was of good quality and choice, but go early as it gets busy and you have to hunt for seating. It has tea and cofee in the foyer which you can take a seat anytime. TIP - there are fruit - apples, bananas, plums and oranges in the foyer which you can help yourself!
Expectation were managed as this was no intended to be a luxury stay. However, due to very small rooms, endless stairs to reception and the lack of black-out curtains, it still was a disappointment and a less comfortable stay. In a country where summer nights are long, there is no excuse for not having proper (in fact any) black-out curtains. Breakfast was fine and staff were friendly.
One could easily miss the entrance to the hotel as it is adjacent to an Italian restaurant. On going through the door (usually kept locked) one sees an old type cage lift going past the lift it opens up into what looks like a large courtyard. This now has a glass roof forming an impressive atrium where the reception is located. This area is also used as a dining area at breakfast. The Reception staff were friendly and efficient and provided a good map of the city. Fortunately we were allocated a room on the first floor so we didn't have to use the lift as my wife is unhappy at using open type lifts. The room overlooked the front main sreet but there was no excessive noise. It was very clean and comfortable with a large TV (only about 6 channels but one was BBC News). There is tea making facilities, no bath but a shower which splashes into the basin area. The buffet breakfast had everything one could want to set you up for the day which you need to as meals in the city are expensive. When one returns to the hotel there is a coffee machine and usually cake in the Reception area. Staff were friendly and there is a luggage room to use after vacating the room. One cannot say the hotel is reasonably priced at nearly £200 per night but on the dates we visited it was one of the cheaper priced hotels and I do not think we could have bettered it for the money.
I stayed at the Bentleys hotel drottningsatan (twice) reasonably priced I had a small room but I did pay the lowest price. Very good breakfast, staff friendly both times had complimentary evening meal but not sure if they still do. Beautiful walks in and around this stylish city hoping to go later this year. Nice pub up the road the Queen's head visited daily for a pint.
I really enjoyed this hotel - it has character. The central room of the hotel is stunning, where breakfast is served, and you can get a beer or wine in the evenings. The single bed rooms are tiny, but it is overall very clean and comfortable. And great location within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
I have been here for 2-days short visit of Stockholm. While I was searching for an hotel in the city center, I saw its price and made my resevation. First, the location is mind blowing great. It is on the main street Drottninggatan. Just in a few minutes, you can walk to the shopping mall, main metro and train stations. It is also very close to the parliament house. The only thing that I can complain is that there is no street sign of the hotel. You need to look for number 77 on the street walls. When you enter the door, an historical building meets you. The hotel is built around a square hall on which the edges have the rooms. Reception desk and the restaurant are placed on the same hall. Nice architectural detail! The rooms are very small but gives you enough space to spend 2-3 days. Breakfast is good. You can find high quality good with various options. I just suggest the staff to put those little cards writing the content of the food on the desk. Then the guests can easily find whatever they want. Finally I would like to thank the reception desk for their kind and welcoming behavior.
Yes, the location is great The room was clean. And the staff was very friendly. But the rest - my room was so warm that I slept without blankets (mind you, almost freezing temperatures outside), with a minitiature window that cannot be opened. It was also quite noisy from several directions. Room was small. The breakfast was pretty uninspiring to say it politely. And the bathroom a display of poor taste - I mean, honestly - a turquoise plastic sink, with dark brown floor and lighter brown walls plus an assortment of fixtures - was that really necessary?
I think i made a good choice booking this hotel. It is not a luxus Hotel but it is well located and comfortable. I booked a single standard room and it was not a big one but i had enough space. Decoration: pretty, with a closet, desk, nightstand, lamps, tv... Room: very clean, enough space for one person. The window only faces the interior of the hotel, it was not loud though and enough light comes trough the big window placed on the ceiling of the reception. Bathroom: modern and also very clean. The only thing that the hotel management should think about is changing the beds because the mattress was not comfortable at all. It was a really thin and soft mattres. Maybe for three nights ok, and without back problems, but no more. Breakfast: a lot of options. The scrambled eggs have a weird consistency, maybe they were Eggbeaters? but the taste was ok. They offer some variety of bread, and also the normal stuff like cheese, ham, ricotta, avocado, fruits, boiled eggs, nutella, müsli, yoghurt, etc. In all, it was a good breakfast. Location: the street is well visited. It has a lot of restaurants and stores. It only takes like 10 min walking to the station and i would say ~20 min to Gamla Stan. Staff: very friendly and helpful. I would totally stay there again.
This hotel has a good location, very close to restaurants and shops in central Stockholm. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, although the bathroom needed some refurbishing. Free coffee and refreshments
Hotel is well located within the Stockholm down town. Rooms are however really small. I had booked a room with a queen size bed and there practically is only space for the bed. Service is friendly and efficient and so,if space is not your issue, by all means.
Location was great, an easy walk to the city center and despite the rooms being rather small they were clean and had just what you needed. Breakfast was simple but good and you can ask for gluten free options. It was also very helpful to have the front desk open late at night for late arrivals.
It was a good value for a BW hotel. nice old building right in the middle of the city center, walking distance to many populer loacations. It was the former design office of the famous car brand "Bentley". the courtyard is very nice and the breakfast is served there. bery nice breakfast. hotel and rooms are really clean, but the single bed room was too small.
This hotel has good location near shopping area and restaurants. Decoration of the room was personal and cosy. Breakfast was decent. The only thing which wasn't so nice was the noise and arrangements of the renovation work.
Great service from very friendly staff, lovely room - large and clean with a great wet room style shower. no problems at all with the heating and it was very cold outside. comfortable bed. the room looked out onto the covered courtyard, but we were not at all disturbed by noise when breakfast started. There is no restaurant, but breakfast is served in the covered courtyard and there is a great selection of foods on offer - much more than we were expecting for a continental breakfast. tea/coffee/hot chocolate/juices were available all day in the courtyard and there is a small bar too. nearby restaurants were very good for evening meals.
i write in English hoping the hotel staff will read it i spent 5 days in this hotel and I really enjoyed it The hotel is in the city centre good breakfast and staff absolutely kind expecially Ms Lettia I had a problem with the central heating in my room and she provided to change my rom with another one superior I had a very good experience and I suggest this hotel
We booked in here for a 2 night stay in Stockholm. The location is very convenient, but parking can be a challenge. The hotel was comfortable, but no heating in our room. The breakfast room in the lobby was very good with a good offering of food.
I stayed in a small single room. The room was indeed small but it wasn't a big deal since I was staying only one night. But the room was REALLY COLD. Outside temperature during the evening was around 3°C and the heating in the room was not working. I complained and first I was offered a fleece blanket. For real! The woman at the reception was nice but she gave me non-sense excuses on why the heating wasn't working: it takes days to heat on the building, etc. I was finally provided with an extra blanket but I had to be literally under them the whole time. Even taking a shower was painful! During check out I complained again and was given -again- non sense excuses like "this is an old building, last month was really hot, it takes days for the heat to work", etc. I live even norther than Stockholm in an old building so, for me, it was just pure non-sense. If I was in the Caribbean that would be OK, but that was Stockholm! Unfortunately for me, I had paid online in advance. I went back home with a cold, that I certainly blame on the freezing room. My take on this hotel: Don't stay there. Winter is coming and you don't want to freeze.
The hotel was nice, clean and the staff were lovely. The reception/eating area was quite aesthetically pleasing and there was a good selection at the breakfast buffet. However, all the rooms overlook this area, and the windows only open out onto it. This means that there is no real fresh air and you can hear all the noise from the reception and eating area. Breakfast opens at 6:30am so I was woken by this everyday. Even with the windows shut, you can still hear everything - and as it's a large room with high ceilings, the noise is echoey and travels far. The "single standard rooms" are not like what you see on the website. The rooms are very tiny, very narrow with barely any space beside the single bed. The desk is also too small to work on (I was there on business). And as said before, the windows don't open to the real outside, so there's no opportunity for fresh air. This was a little disappointing.
It's a shame- this hotel could be so much better with a little effort here and there. The location is great, right in the centre but that's about it. I paid €270 for one night in a tiny room with no external window. Arrived late and found that they had no room service. Also no minibar. Also, an antiquated TV with 8 channels, only one English (BBC World). The decor was hideous - lots of chintz - some people may like this type of 'back in time' look but it was so random, and it clashed with the numerous wires which weren't hidden around the room. The escalator in the hotel is one of those ones where you have to shut the (two) doors yourself, takes an age to move anywhere and fits 3 people max - used it once only and then stuck to the stairs. Checkout was the last straw - they provided me with a receipt without my company address details (which I need to claim my expenses) and then told me that they couldn't change it. The receptionist was excellent, very calm in spite of my growing frustration and it was certainly not her fault - it was with the 'system' - the system which had not recognised my loyalty number when booking, not added my company address and then would not allow the address modification. She kindly agreed to work it out and then email me later. Like I said, she was great but overall, I found the hotel to be seriously wanting and so very overpriced. Disappointing.
Took a double room... Hotel staff are so so so friendly and helpful and the room was farrrrr beyond our expectations for the budget! Really happy with our experience here and the breakfast they offer is small but always filled with food and many swedish breakfast foods for people to try. When the mother visits again I imagine she'll be staying here again!
Nice hotel. Great breakfast. Pro tip: ask for a room facing outside, not towards the closed inner courtyard (where the reception and breakfast is) the problem with the latter rooms is that when you open the room you don't get fresh air in but noise from the inside hall. Warning: parking your car in the center of Stockholm (on the street) is a very complicated affair and the police is extremely strict with parking ticket. I got 2, together 160 euros...
I stayed at this hotel for two nights from 03/09/16. The location is really great, pretty much central to everything although quiet and peaceful. Just a short walk to Central Station. The staff were extremely friendly and my room although small was extremely comfortable. I would certainly stay there again in the future.
absolutely disappointing experience. rooms are filled with old, badly combined furniture (disappointing when in the capital of design and good taste...); no isolation, very noisy at night because rooms are facing main street with bars/restaurants. I had a non-smoking room, but it was clear this hadn't been respected. Not recommended.
Room below ground, no opening windows, no working ventilation or air con. Had to check out and move to another hotel without using room as unable to breathe. No other options offered by hotel. I'm not sure it is even legal to sell a room without any air flow. Avoid!
I stayed here on a business trip. Yes rooms are small but my main issue was the bed and the mattress size and quality. I could not believe this a 4 star hotel. Very tinny bed and very bad mattress. The whole night I felt I will fall off the bed. I did not get one good night of sleep during my three nights stay. Internet connection is good in the lobby but in the rooms one will face fluctuations and interruptions. Breakfast is very basic. Nothing spectacular.
This hotel is located in Drottingattan street and within ten minutes you can arrive to the old town. The first metro station is T-centralen. The room was small but really perfect in everything, nothing missed and it was very clean. The breakfast was excellent. I appreciated also the services and hospitality.
Extremely small rooms! No AC! Our room was also down in the basement of the hotel! For two girls traveling alone that felt very uncomfortable! We even brought this up to the front desk staff but nothing was accommodated! For the price we spent I feel we could have taken our business elsewhere! Otherwise good location!
Breakfast was wonderful. The room was only okay .... a bit outdated with little counter space. Wifi was spotty. People must have been smoking outside every morning and it comes up the staircase all the way to the 3rd floor where our room was located. When you enter the vestibule area to go down the staircase to breakfast .... you are hit with a strong smell of cigarette smoke. A bit hard on the stomach so early in the morning. The front door needs to kept closed.
This hotel has a perfect location. Within 10-12 minutes walk you reach the old city and the train station. In Drottninggatan it is a lot of bars, restaurants and shops. The personnell was nice and service minded, but the size of the room was very small. I have a twin room, and it was space for two beds and nothing more really.
This has been just what we needed. We took the express train from the airport (20 min and super easy with luggage) and were told we didn't need a cab as the hotel was a 10 min walk from the main station. This was easy and cool as the hotel is on a pedestrian only shopping street. This street goes right to the water and sites (palace, old town) about 15 to 20 minutes. We were on the 5th floor and enjoyed the door to the roof for fresh air as there is no AC but there is a fan. It gets cool at night so sleeping was easy - and I am fussy about needing a cold room. (509) The breakfast was amazing - eggs, bacon, cheese, meat, breads etc. The even had avocado. Served in the atrium which was lovely. The room wasn't huge - but this is Europe. Staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it!
Great courtyard reception area doubled as open air hot scrumptious buffet breakfast. Fifth floor room opened up to rooftop complete with a place to sit. It's centrally located. Close to everything and only a ten minute walk from the Arlanda express train. I was so happy to stay there, complete fluke.
Very pleased with stay. Only downside was that it took much longer to walk to the hotel from the Central Station than we expected. Downhill back to station much easier. A shelf in the bathroom would have been a great help. I asked for a quiet room because of a hearing problem and on the fifth floor we didn't hear a sound from the street outside. Thank you
Great location, good breakfast and polite & helpful staff. Enjoyed my stay. The location to all the places I wanted to see and walk to, was great. Good variety for breakfast. Not too far from the main station. If I have the opportunity to return to Stockholm, I would reserve me room at Best Western Hotel Bentley.
Located in the main shopping & walking street. Very old property. The main reception & the breakfast area in the atrium of the building, open to the sky (covered glass ceiling), gives av ery natural look to the whole property. One has to climb a few stairs with bags to enter the reception area. Then all rooms are connected with elevators. The hotel has no kitchen so serves only breakfast. Could be better. Rooms are well appointed. Staff is very helpful. The street is a no car zone during particular hours, so had to carry the bags round the corner to put it in the taxi. Can be inconvenient to elderly couples. Over all good.
Stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights. Walking in the general atmosphere is fantastic. The red carpet on the steps leading up to a very attractive vintage looking courtyard. Eurovision 2016 songs being played all week getting me in the mood! Great buffet breakfast with a wide variety of food & drink. The room was cosy with a lovely bathroom, great for returning from the Globe Arena at midnight!
First if all, we are having a wonderful trip to Sweden and Stockholm. What a pleasant city. Pros: Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast. Cons: No AC, no window to outside. So our room is around 80 even when it's only 68 outside. No hot water in shower. Shower design fatally flawed. Even in Sweden we have seen much better showers. By all means visit Stockholm and enjoy.
I have to start this review by stating that I have experienced both the best and the worst of what this hotel has to offer. On the first night we knowingly stayed in a windowless and tiny room in the basement of this hotel. The worst part of this was that the room was made unnecessarily smaller by the use of too many furnishings and fixtures. Huge table lamps and a large wardrobe made the the already tiny space somehow even smaller. However, for the next three nights we stayed in a master room on the third floor with wonderful views up and down Drotninggarten. In fact, you only have to follow this road for about a kilometre and your in the magnificent old city of Stockholm. The breakfast that was included in the price, was amazing. The selection and quality of the food on offer at the buffet was excellent, and would appeal to all breakfast tastebuds. The staff are ver friendly and helpful, which made our stay in Stockholm all the more enjoyable. Overall, a great place to stay, as long as you get the right room.
The hotel is 15 min walk from the railway station, and in the main shopping street of the city. It is in an old building. The room was very small,(think about 1/2meter around the bed to move around). But the bed was comfortable. The toilet was modern and clean. The hotel offers free buffet breakfast that for Stockholm is a big plus. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Centrally located with small rooms. Booked 2 single beds but got a double. Room was small and very warm. Window opened onto the hotels enclosed courtyard which was very noisy. Music from the hotel, pop hits from the 90s for most of the time we were there were played in the evening and night while in the morning breakfast being served in the courtyard awoke us early. Of course you can close your window but then it is hot. No air conditioning. Basic breakfast could do with modernising. Staff were pretty average. Perhaps an ok place for winter but with so much choice we won't return.
This hotel was well worth it's money, due to it's placement right next to the main street of Stockholm. Getting to the old town only required going on a small stroll down the street. The wifi was free and worked great, and the breakfast was also good. The BEST part of the hotel is it's old fashioned elevator where you'll have to open and close the doors yourself. The only minus was that the room was quite small, but I had the cheapest one so that might be why.
Nice old fashioned looking hotel, fantastic location, good sized rooms, very very good breakfast. Free wifi in the rooms. Lots of restaurants in few minutes walk and about 15min walk to Kungsträdgården, NK and other shopping malls. Arlanda express is 10min walk
I had a 'small double' which was adequate for a couple of nights. Bed was very comfortable and the room had a nice en-suite. WiFi was OK, but dropped out occasionally. Room had a kettle and a desk. A lot of rooms overlook the covered courtyard where reception, bar and breakfast are. You can open the window but it does not let any air in and is slight noisy. There was no air conditioning, but a fan was provided.
I stayed here only for two nights, when I travelled to Stockholm for business purpose. From Arlanda airport we took the Arlanda Express and in 20 minutes we were in the Central Station. From here - only two metro stations on Tunnelbana and after 10 minutes walk we got the hotel. Bentley hotel has a good position, in 20-25 min you may reach the beautiful Gamla Stan (Old City), by walking down the main street. What I've really disliked here, was the room space. I stayed in the smallest room that I ever seen in my trips (and they were some), it had approx. 7-8 sqm (the bathroom is a bit generous, 4-5 sqm). The space between the beds is no more than 80-90 cm! In addition, the windows couldn't been open, probably due to security reason - but the small rooms would need to be well ventilated, especially in case of fully occupancy (2 persons). The breakfast was ok, self-service style. General service - ok. Last, but not least, the price is quite prohibitive, if you visit Stockholm as a tourist - 200 euro/night for a double room. However, I would have expected larger rooms, given this price...
Located in the central shopping area. The door is locked and u need to press a button and hear closely to the door getting unlocked. If not you will be standing there all the time without knowing what to do. Anyways once u enter u see steps and an old lift. You walk gingerly up the stairs looking for reception and viola in the middle of quadrangle u see a reception. The first thought is how csn u have a reception in the middle without a roof. When u reach the reception u see that the top is covered. Wow...... Strangebut nice. This open space is where breakfast is served. I had booked a single room and never seen a tinest room ever. No kettle or anything the charger socket is below the table and u need to search and the worst is wifi..... Felt like i was in a backward country where wifi connection is so low. The window opens to the quadrangle below so view is nil unless u like to see the reception from high above Breakfast is standard and location is in the center of the shopping area. Staff at the hotel are all ok and helpful but found cleaning staff to be rude. They dont wait up when they see u comming to the lift or help someone outside the door not knowing how to open the grand door though they have. seen the guest struggling to open door They give u a code when u check in so when u are out and want to come in u need to put in the code in the front door I
Really enjoyed this city centre hotel - location was excellent - loved having a pedestrian only street outside and our hotel room was a bit on the small compact side I could not fault it - excellent sleep - the bed was very comfortable and I still do not understand how the small thin duvet can be so comfortable and warm. Street facing room recommended as you can ope a window - and in our room we had a door onto a small balcony - excellent. Breakfast was very good with a great selection and I especially liked the times breakfast offered 0700 - 1030 and an hour later on Sat/Sun.
Found the hotel on booking as we had find to find a room for late arrival. Good service, fast check-in and my room (513) was simply good. Did not have high expectations on breakfast but enjoyed the cold milk, scrambled eggs, swedish meat balls and all the crackers. Fair deal compared to the prices of the other hotels.
I spent only a night there, and I liked it. Rooms are just standart, but overall atmosphere of the hotel is stylish - especially an ancient lift preserved until our times and even still working! It looks like in fims:) The only inconvenience - I could not connect to wifi.
This hotel is built into old renovated apartment house. The room was fine, although quite small. TV works fine but channels are limited. The breakfast was good and wide-ranging. The hotel location is good, just appr. 5 min walk from central station.
Booked this hotel for two nights as a part of a business trip. The location is great, the room, bed and bathroom is okay. But the wifi in this hotel is 100% useless with extreme slow connection and a lot of disconnects. Will never book this again.
Location of Best Western Bentley's is good and most visitor attractions are within a 30 minute walk. However, the twin bedded room was very much on the small size for two adults with nowhere to sit apart from on the bed if you wished to stay in your room. If your room looks out onto the atrium (which most do) be aware that if your window does open it will open out onto the covered atrium. This means that you are unable to access any fresh air into the room. Consequently the room was overly warm and very stuffy even though the outside temperature hovered around -1c for our stay. The reception desk, breakfast and bar area are all located in the atrium. Noise from this area is magnified by the atrium - ear plugs recommended if you are bothered by noise whilst trying to sleep from late returning guests and early breakfast takers. The breakfast provided was very good with hot and cold choices and free tea, coffee and hot chocolate available at any time. Staff were efficient and helpful. Overall a just OK venue for a short city break.
I have stayed at this hotel while on a business trip. It is located close to the central station and there are several restaurants nearby. The breakfast is served in the lobby/reception area which is an enclosed quadrangle in the building. Standard rooms and standard fare for breakfast, nothing exceptional. Receptionist told me that Best Western points are only added if bookings are done via their own website.
We received a very warm welcome at Bentley's and the hospitable treatment continued by all staff during our 3 night stay. Our room was small but adequate, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was great - plenty of hot water and good water pressure. It appears that all the rooms look out onto the central atrium of the hotel which we found to be a good point. This seems to be a very popular and busy hotel and when we were ready to go down for breakfast we could easily check out our window to see if there were tables available! The location of the hotel was perfect for us as it was about a 20 minute walk from the station and about the same walking over to Gamla Stan where we spent quite a bit of time as there is a lot to see - The Royal Palace, the Cathedral and Tyska Kyrkan (German Church), to name some. The lovely cobble-stoned streets in Gamla Stan, with their cafes and souvenir shops are well worth wandering as well.
The Bentleys offers a lot for the comparatively low price it charges; it is near one of the main shopping areas, has an abundance of dining options within a 5 minute walk and onward transport to Arlanda and other airports is a similarly walkable distance. The buffet breakfast is good, wifi works well throughout and the room I stayed in offered everything that you would expect.
A 12 minute walk from the Grand Central Station, Arlanda Express and City Terminal, this is indeed a conveniently located hotel. No restaurant, but a decent breakfast and fairly large rooms with OK comfort and interior quality. WiFi works fine.
Stayed one night in this hotel when in Stockholm for a football match (IFK Gothenburg (obviously) won against AIK). The hotel was a 10-15 minute walk on a pedestrian street from the central train station and there are loads of options for dining in the area. The single room I got was on the top floor overlooking the roofs of the neighbouring buildings, which was nice. The room (with a single bed) was really small. But since I didn't have any luggage, this was not a problem. Even if the room was small, it was still equipped with a small TV, a work desk and a nice bathroom with a good shower. The breakfast was above average with several choices. Check-in and check-out worked like a charm. I would stay here again.
Sweden does hotel breakfast up right, but this place goes above and beyond -- I'm comfortable calling this one of the very best breakfast buffets I've ever experienced. Other than that, I didn't care much for this hotel -- for the price, the room was small and the wifi didn't work, and the location wasn't as central as I thought it'd be. But that amazing breakfast made everything okay.
First, the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised, when at checkin, I get told that they had taken the freedom to upgrade me to a larger room. I do not want to know what I booked, as it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. I dread to think how big the original room was. Standard was good, as was the breakfast. The problem I have with Best Western is their online price guarantee. I found the same room advertised for 200SEK less on booking.com, and as per their website, did not worry as they would match the price. They refused to, with the excuse that booking.com was running a promotion! Google around, and you will find when ever you invoke the guarantee, they automatically reject most of the claims. Last time it happened to me, I had to explain to the CSA they were profiling customers based on country IP, and that the price she was seeing was different form mine (They charge UK residents more!). On this occasion, they not only refused to match the price, but also refused to cancel the booking, claiming it was non refundable. This leaves customers in a catch 22 situation, where you have to book on their site before knowing if they will honour, with risk of being left out. Total fail on behalf of both the hotel and Best Western!
Room overlooked Drottninggatan noise from street very loud continuing late evening and then beginning very early am (5/6am every day, noise from garbage collection, street cleaning etc). Windows only double glazed. Noise from other rooms very bad, no internal sound insulation. Can hear toilets being flushed, showers used, doors slammed constantly. Most rooms overlook internal courtyard area where breakfast served and evening bar, I do not know if these rooms are quieter, I would imagine not. Mattress in room was absolutely terrible, every slight movement made the whole bed reverberate and again did not add to peaceful nights sleep! On positive note very friendly reception staff and very friendly/efficient cleaning staff. Breakfast also good but not nearly enough tables. Room attractively decorated and with kettle which is much appreciated.
We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel so we did not need to walk from the train station, so I cannot tell how long the walk is. ON arrival at the hotel we had to pay for the stay which is all right - I guess it is the rule with the booking.com. We ordered the Deluxe room since I read so many reviews about how small the rooms are at the hotel and I was hoping to get a deluxe room but I would say it was an average room. Usually in Scandinavia standard rooms are a nice size but in this hotel the deluxe room was even I would say on a smaller scale so I cannot even imagine what size was the normal room. The room was facing the street, on the 3rd floor. View was fine. Other people in our group had the rooms that were facing inside the hotel and there were complaining about the lack of air in the room and when they opened the windows, there was just too much noise. So, we were luck to have the room facing the street. Deluxe room promised to have bathrobes, slippers, shampoo and all other staff...Well..Slippers were nowhere to be seen and upon requesting them we were told that the hotel was out of them and maybe they are getting them soon. Well, during the whole stay of 4 days we did not get them. Shampoo and other staff - There was one big container for hand soap and one for shampoo and bath gel. If you wanted to get the conditioner or lotion - then you need to ask for it at the reception. Honesty, it did make me feel uncomfortable to ask for the things that we were promised to be in our room. Bed - was all right, blankets were kind of light so I asked for an extra blanket and you know what I got when I took a better look at it? - it was a mattress cover! Breakfast - I was disappointed. Variety of food was poor, too many people, tables are not cleaned right away, maybe lack of staff. Bread was tasteless.... So, in general, the hotel has a good central location. But I would not stay there again.
Very nice and helpful staff. We felt very welcome - the receptionists were so nice. Quick check-in and check-out. The room was perfectly clean and breakfast very good. The building dates from 1905 and an effort has been made to keep the old fashion charm. There is no air-condition in the rooms. We didn't miss it. We found the description on the web page accurate. Some rooms face the street and others the charming court yard. The area is very quiet and felt safe. The hotel is at the end of a long, busy shopping street and there are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. We will be back!
On a short break with my sister the reception /bar lounge is quite unique, looks like you are in a court yard its lovely. After a small hick up with rooms we had a lovely spacious twin room kept spotless during our stay and the staff were really lovely and most helpful. situated very central for shops and restaurants would highly recommend this hotel
We spent six nights at the Bentleys in a double room with plenty space. It was a nice and quiet room on the fourth floor although you sometimes could hear other doors or some noise from the lobby but nothing that was annoying. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable after a hard core sightseeing day in the city :-) Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast good too. It was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely come back. Drottninggatan is Stockholms shopping street so you have plenty of opportunities to eat, drink or shop. Just about 10 minutes away from the Central Station with connections to all metro lines, local trains and the Arlanda Express. A really nice area were we always felt safe and never had any trouble. I guess you can say that about the whole city.
We spent 4 nights here while visiting Stockholm. We arrived in Stockholm on the overnight ferry from Tallinn which docked at 10:15am so we were at the hotel around 11am expecting just to leave our bags until the room was available. However, we were happy to find our room was ready so we could relax for a while before setting out to explore the city. Our room was a good size and spacious with a large bathroom but we have been told that some of the rooms are quite small. Guess we were just lucky. The hotel was refurbished a couple of years ago and features an atrium with a glass roof where breakfast is served and also doubles as an area for people to sit and chat. Breakfast was plentiful and empty plates were constantly refilled. The hotel is in a pedestrianised street about a 10-15 minute walk to Gamla Stan and there are many restaurants within walking distance. We would certainly stay here again. We did have a few issues in that the wi-fi only worked intermittently in our room but it was okay in the lobby/ breakfast room area. Also, and this is a problem we have found in many of the hotels we have stayed in, the rooms seems to be heated all the time and there is little fresh air.
We stayed for a couple of nights before joining a cruise, the hotel rooms are comfortable and quiet and the breakfast courtyard and food served in it was excellent. It's on a road which takes you straight down to Gamla Stan which is about 15-20 minutes away along a mostly pedestrianised avenue with lots of shops and restaurants to explore. Number 1 bus can be boarded nearby to take you to the cruise port and it's an easy walk to Central station for airport transfers - First class tourist hotel!
I don't very often put excellent on a review but I really loved this place and will definitely stay there again next time I am in Stockholm. It is very central, easy walk from Metro or main train station. The building is quite an interesting design, old, I am guessing 'Artdeco'. We had a room at the front, I think this was one of the better rooms, it had a nice view of the street but if you really can't stand noise, maybe not for you. A nice touch was the dressing gowns to use, as not all hotels do this now. The room had kettle etc, but the lobby breakfast area had free drinks all day. The breakfasts were wonderful. A charming little hotel.
