"Bad Location"
331micko, 04 Mars 2024

This hotel is clean and tidy but a little tired. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, quite a limited choice but could have as much, or as little, as you wanted. We stayed for two nights, and that was enough. It's about a 15-minute walk down a steep hill (you have to walk back up) to the Metro, and about a 15-minute journey to the Colluseum, so not as close to the centre as we would have liked. The hotel is situated in a residential area, and there is nothing in the way of bars and restaurants nearby, although there are some down the hill! This hotel is definitely not for you if you have mobility issues. The '3' marking is based purely on the location.

"Great base for exploring. Quiet location."
A_MEssex, 14 Janvier 2024

Great base for exploring Rome. Short walk to the metro. Reception really friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Room small but adequate and clean. After a busy day in the city centre we found a great little outdoor bar for a chill out. Close to the hotel and used by by the locals. Lovely atmosphere. Aperol spritzers were amazing and reasonably priced.

"Avoid! Not as advertised at all"
Sarah C, 05 Octobre 2023

Liars and substandard dangerous electrical equipment! The gym was substandard if not dangerous and the staff lied about fixing it. The kettles in the room didn't click off…fire hazard…bins in social areas not emptied equipment on room terrace broken and dangerous also. ! Don't go it's not the standard it should be for a BW hotel!

"The shower is more like a dripping tap"
jackiegV3809IA, 02 Octobre 2023

The shower had NO power, it dribbled water. I asked for help from the staff and was told it was because the hotel was full. So if you shower in the evening, morning or midday apparently you can expect a dribble of water which is usually cold (unless you're lucky then it runs luke warm.) We asked where to buy bus tickets but the receptionist wasn't sure. It's on the main road at the newsagent and it's bus 90 for Roma Termini or bus 60 for centro (on the same side as the newsagent.) The hotel is up a hill. The local restaurants are cheap and offer really good food. Despite the awful shower, once we worked out transport the hotel was ok.

"Quiet and comfortable."
Shusan245, 28 Septembre 2023

Very nice quiet hotel and helpful staff. Modern decor and a nice terrace. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed , apart from tea/ coffee facilities which was a shame. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. But it's not so easy to find as it's set back from the main road( thankfully)and uphill. If you have walking difficulties you may want to think twice. It's a bit further out than it looks.

"It's a place to sleep"
pozs, 28 Août 2023

The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The room I would not sing about. It was clean to an extent. The bin had not been emptied from the previous occupants. There is a really tiny fridge which you cannot fit a big bottle of water. You have to pay extra for the safe. The shower is a really tight squeeze. The air conditioner was not working to cool the room. Breakfast is very basic that if I had known I would not have paid for it. You need to go early if you want things like tomatoes as if you go an hour after start time they just tell you it's finished. It's 15€ by taxi from the town centre. The Metro and buses are 1.50€ so very cheap. The taxi transfer to the airport from hotel is 70€. Bus from airport to town centre is 8€.

"AVOID!!"
Holly P, 07 Août 2023

When we arrived at the hotel we was very shocked by all the dirty smelling bins outside the hotel. On our first night at the property we went to get into bed & there was all blood on the bed sheets from the previous guests before us! The next day we was out of the hotel all day exploring the city, when we came back in the late afternoon we discovered that one of our belongings had gone missing from our room, when we went down to reception to ask where the item had gone they did not understand what we was trying to say as they have very little English vocabulary. The following day when we went to check out they had tried to charge us for bottles of water out of the mini fridge that we did not have!! We are both smothered in bites from the room & very very disappointed!! Avoid this hotel as this certainly is not a 4* hotel!

"Close to subway"
Beverly H, 06 Août 2023

Location is outside downtown Rome so you will need to take the subway (or bus)to get to the attractions. It's about a 5 minute walk to the station and 10 minute ride to colosseum. I prefer being in a neighborhood for the authentic experience though. Breakfast at hotel is great, there are several restaurants nearby and a 24hr place to eat called Tosta right down the road. Rooms can accommodate a family , which is rare in Italy. But the beds are a little short if you're over 6 ft. You will have to sleep on the couch, which is very comfortable. Overall really great place to stay at a reasonable price.

"The Worst Hotel"
N1838UXcamillec, 19 Juillet 2023

Please do not book this hotel! Please, the location is bad, garbage all over the streets and smells really bad. The hotel packed with mosquitoes, the rooms smells weird and the air condition doesn't work. The bathroom is small enough for a child! Please save your money and pay for something a little pricer. You'll regret staying her, after one night I had to leave! STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP!

"Nice but in a residential area"
O8734QAlynnes, 14 Juillet 2023

This is a lovely little hotel, but is very much in a residential area, so not really touristy. There are some cracking little local restaurants. The nearest metrol is 10 mins walk away, with the train station approx 20 mins away. Buses also seem plentiful. The hotel itself has airy cool and clean communal areas, it's worth having a drink on the roof top terrace. The rooms standard fair and clean, the shower is a little cozy, even for small 5ft 4 people like myself and I'm not really sure about a full length mirror in front of the toilet. Minor bug bear is that they replace used items such as soap every day. Oh and stairs, lots of stairs.

"Not the best but not the worst!"
Laura W, 04 Juillet 2023

We booked a 4 night stay through easyjet holidays contacted them prior to arriving to say we were only staying the last 2 nights. On arrival we got to the hotel and check in took about 20 minutes. They couldn't find our booking, then I showed them the email that I'd sent confirming we were only coming for 2out of the 4 nights. We got checked in to 401 which let's just say is not suitable as a hotel room! No windows only 2 skylights which wouldn't remain open. It felt like a loft room, was very slanted. The bathroom was small. Should be more of a cleaners cupboard than a hotel room! Well there was no Air conditioning working so the room... Felt like 35c+... We went to turn the bedroom lights off at 11pm.. to find the light switches turned the plug sockets off! There was 2 lights we just couldn't turn off. I did go to reception and request a new room, which they let me check before moving. Therefore we got moved to a lovely room! Huge room with 2 double beds, lots of windows and air conditioning! The room we had was lovely, very comfortable. The breakfast was extremely basic. Not a huge selection, but enough. This hotel was well located, went to a lovely restraunt called il locale? Very lovely place and 5 minutes down the road. Situated near a tram and bus stop. Note if you use the bus stop it's easy to get to... the tram stop has 80+ steep steps! I think the hotel could do with a mini bad that sells crisps and snacks etc. We got there 9pm and we had to go and find a local coffee place to get something to eat as the. Earby supermarkets shut at 9pm. Overall not a bad stay but not 5*

"nice, personnel are Pro's."
ingconti, 25 Juin 2023

it's a bit out of center (it takes 15 minutes from center by taxi) and is not a starred hotel, but it's for business trip. it's based on 3 main buildings, some are nice villas on Montesacro zone. furniture and baths maybe require some refresh, but we DO appreciate the professionalism of the concierge, two pros that were fast and efficient in all out needs. (some starred hotels ,instead, usually have too young people ... and not so smart) They assisted from arranging transfer fro station, to taxi, to late check out

"Bestwestern Rome"
Brian B, 10 Mai 2023

was given free breakfast for being Diamond select, but breakfast didn't start until 7:00 am, so was not able to use 3 of 5 days. Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. rooms were clean and bedding was very comfortable. Shower was small but had good water pressure and fixtures were modern. rooms were modern, but air conditioning was not adequate to keep room at 68 degrees which I like. Temperature was more like 72.

"Small hotel on the outskirts of Rome "
Joanne J, 13 Avril 2023

Small hotel on the outskirts of Rome. We stayed for 4 nights in a cosy basement family room. Cleanliness was good although a slight problem with ants in the bathroom. Breakfast was a basic continental offering which sufficed but could have done with a few more options. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful and were always happy to recommend local restaurants and organise taxis when needed. You could hop on the local bus to get into town which took about 20-25mins. Overall a pleasant stay.

"Excellent"
StephanieM921, 14 Novembre 2022

Absolutely brilliant! The minute we were dropped off to when we left the hotel was excellent. The receptionist made the hotel even better giving ideas of where to go etc. the room was clean and spacious with windows overlooking the garden. Breakfast was continental so was ok for a Brit but ate enough. In walking distance to the Metro and with the receptionist guidance was able to get into Rome quickly and with no hassle.

"Decent if not a little dated "
ZeenatH21, 23 Octobre 2022

A decent hotel but could do with a little bit of tlc. It is situated a little out of the center of Rome in a quiet suburb which is great if you are after some respite from the hustle and bustle of Roma. The metro is about a 5-minute walk - the shortcut includes going down about 100 steps (and up on the way back) but there is a step-free alternative which is a bit longer. The staff is super friendly and helpful, with maps and metro directions on hand. Once you get to the metro it is about a 30-minute ride max to get to the colosseum or other parts of Rome. The room itself was spacious with a big bathroom that included a bidet. The shower cubicle was very narrow and a little bit dark as there is no light above. The hair dryer is quite dated and not as powerful. The bedroom lacked enough charging sockets, and the pillows were absolutely awful. We had to ask for extras. Also odd, was that we had to leave our keys with reception every time we left the hotel. We stayed for four nights, and our room was 'cleaned' the first day, but only the bed was made. I had to request clean towels. There is a safe, but it is suer tiny, about the size of a passport so wouldn't be able to ft a laptop etc We had a hired car and were charged 10 euros per night to park it on the grounds. There is a nice coffee shop up the road and a supermarket on the corner of the main road but otherwise the area is very quiet and non-busy.

"Good hotel, AC could be better"
madmanfk, 10 Octobre 2022

Honestly good hotel, a little off city centre so you get decent value. Take Bus from Roma Termini, not train. The room was sometimes Warner than outside. We went in October 2022. Good breakfast buffet! Would recommend for price and value. Also, just a 3-5 walk away … highest rated Gelato place in Rome.

"Excellent Customer Service"
elyas e, 01 Août 2022

Lovely clean hotel even though located away from the main attractions but easily reached via the metro 10 mins walk away. However, our stay was made so much better by the excellent and most helpful service especially from Antonio and Claudio who went out their way with all the queries we had. Always helpful and at the same time very polite and courteous. Made us feel at home - most grateful.

"Trash hotel stay away. "
danielrQ1081WI, 28 Juin 2022

It's was a shocking experience aircon was broken in scorching heat and the staff refused to do anything for us. We simply didn't sleep because of this the food was good awafal and after being told we didn't have to check out at the usual time of 11am as a result. Ten minutes after this time we had one of the staff ringing our room demanding we get out. My girlfriend must have explained herself three times before I roused from my half sleep to shout at the rude staff member who finally got the memo before charging us overstay fees. Disgraceful hotel.

"The best customer service ever"
SaritS452, 16 Avril 2022

So, although I was afraid the hotel is not in the center and you need taxi or bus each time you want to go out, I have to say that I feel at home. Yes. The breakfast is fresh and good. I recommend it!

"Best Western ARS. A nice little getaway."
Daniel12322, 10 Avril 2022

My rating for this hotel is actually 3.5. The hotel is advertised as a 4* which is fair but I'd say not quite there. We had room 108 which was located on the ground floor down two small flights of stairs. The room was lovely for what we needed, but a little on the basic side. A bit more furniture would have been nice (drawers to store things etc), the air con didn't work, which wasn't too bad this time of year, but in the summer air con that pumps out hot air wouldn't have been ideal and the mini fridge didn't cool, just stayed at room temp. There was a bit of damp on the bathroom wall too which is to be expected based on the size of the bathroom, but generally the bathroom was near spotless. I would've liked some liquid had soap too as I find the bar soap to be very drying to use (personal opinion as I suffer from dry skin on my hands). The staff were lovely and very attentive from the moment we walked in, to the moment we checked and the housekeeping lady was no different. The reception staff also allowed us to leave the keys for the day while we visited the city as they do not use card keys, and the chains are like mini paperweights. We had breakfast included too within the cost, which again was very basic, just standard continental, but had everything you need to start the day. Overall the room was very clean, staff were great and the stay was nice. The hotel was also a short walk from Conca d'Oro metro station, which made getting around so much easier, but a decent pair of walking shoes is a must as the area is very hilly (so much so we opted for lime scooters to get us up most days). If you're looking for a nice little hotel for a few days away, I would definitely recommend, the area looked like it had a couple of nice local bars too and there is a small supermarket outside the metro station which is handy for picking up a few Italian snacks for the day ahead.

"Nice Hotel on the outskirts"
rosc224, 25 Février 2022

The hotel has good sanitising measures in place. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. Nice bar and communal areas. Had to book a timeslot for breakfast as has only a small restaurant but a decent continental breakfast provided. Close to reasonably priced minimarkets/bakeries/bistros/pharmacies. Close to metro/bus stop into centre of Rome. Bit noisy at night with traffic. Bins overflowing and smelly on the streets outside which was a shame.

"Nice enough but better out there! "
amydB4544DK, 05 Novembre 2021

Hotel staff lovely and sorted us out quickly when the holiday company cancelled our hotel and return transfer. However it was warm (for a brit) but we couldnt work the air con so we had to open windows which meant lots of midges or fleas or something came in. We were ground floor right next to a hedge so no view (room 107). We all got bitten, my 7 year old especially bad. Breakfast was amazing, best bit really. No English TV channels or subtitles which is a pain when you have a young child . The area around the hotel is pleasant but dirty, rubbish overflowing and quite smelly. Hotel was a walk to train but you can get a 3 day pass for the metro for €18 per adult. Steps down were hard work, avoid if not able.

"On the outskirts "
samanthaf237, 27 Février 2020

We stayed here for a week. The hotel itself is basic and in desperate need of an overhaul. I tried to run a bath but the water came out of the shower head and bath tap simultaneously and the water didn't stay in the bath. I reported it and the maintenance man tried to glue a bit rubber on the plug, but came off once I tried to run another bath. The plug in the sink constantly jammed closed. The windows didn't seal well so was very cold and noisy. There was only one English TV channel (which was News) so not great for a lengthy stay. The staff however are extremely happy and accommodating. This hotel is near the bus stops and the metro line for transport in and out of the city but it's a good 25 minutes on the bus. If your looking for a cheap hotel, you have to take into account the time and money spend going back and forth. However the local coffee shops and eateries etc and amazing as they're not used to tourist so you can experience the real Italy at real prices. Perfect for me and my husband but not so great for many others. Remember to add in tourist tax (€6 per person per night) then an additional €60 for a taxi back to Ciampino Airport.

"Clean hotel but too far away"
classyscotgal, 24 Février 2020

Hotel ok, staff lovely, however was too far away for us from the centre of Rome. When we took into consideration what our friends paid to be more central in rome was really the same as we paid for taxis to get home later in the evening. Breakfast was fine and room very clean. Very difficult to find hotel and area not attractive with a lot of bins in street.

"Comfortable, out of centre hotel with great breakfast"
John H, 11 Février 2020

Worth the No 90 bus trip from termini, or use metro nearby, to get a seat!, but with a walk up / down some vertiginous steps! - attentive staff, quiet rooms, great choice of items at breakfast with late fining time- will be back

"Short break"
Katie B, 05 Février 2020

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as part of a short break to Italy. The hotel is ideally located a 20 minute bus ride from the centre of Rome. Very friendly and helpful staff, who gave excellent information regarding cost of bus/tram/metro tickets and where to buy them, together with recommendations of local restaurants. Continental buffet breakfast was well presented with good selection. Whilst the hotel is located a distance from the central city tickets for can be purchased for 12.50euros which last 48 hours and cover all methods of public transport.

"Ars Hotel"
Allen S, 21 Novembre 2019

Stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting Rome. A nice hotel, some way from the city centre, so used the Metro to reach it. Very clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. A bit of a walk from the nearest Metro, so probably unsuitable for some people. However, still an enjoyable stay.

"Lovely Base for seeing Rome"
Deborah T, 08 Novembre 2019

Good little hotel, 6-7 km from historical sites of Rome, easily accessible via bus/ metro, pay £12 Euros for 48 hr travel pass which is valid for all public transport. Compact rooms with shower, safe, tea & coffee making facilities. Lovely continental breakfast, self service plenty of choice. Very friendly and helpful reception staff, very clean throughout.

"Short break"
Ronnie B, 14 Octobre 2019

We stayed at this Hotel for a couple of nights. Great hotel, lovely food, extremely clean, fantastic staff, especially Andrea, couldn't do enough for us, so polite. Tea making in room and hair dryer/ shampoo etc. Train station 10-15 mins wLk or €6. Trains/ trams amazing and reasonable.

"Nice Hotel"
paul s, 09 Octobre 2019

The Hotel has very good size rooms , ours had a very large bathroom which was a plus. The breakfast was good, the only fault was the distance from Rome itself, but the buses were very frequent and cheap to use so this was not realy an issue, overall very good.

"Lovely little hotel"
Carole B, 08 Octobre 2019

I loved this charming little hotel. Bit of a bus journey into Rome, but an interesting route. Spotlessly clean hotel, very helpful staff and lovely rooms- we stayed in the building at the back and it was light and quiet. There is a roof terrace - though we tried to be quiet because of the neighbours! Plus point was the scrambled egg, sausage and toast available alongside the continental breakfast at no extra cost. Would recommend this hotel.

"lovely little hotel"
Night P, 06 Octobre 2019

my cousin and i loved this hotel. it is spotless and well kept. the staff are amazing and extremely helpful and all spoke good english ( i have no italian). breakfast was very good and included scrambled eggs and bacon and the usual continental buffet, nothing was left to run out and the coffee was excellent. it is a 10 minute walk to the metro which is incredibly easy to use. cost is 18 euros for a 3 day unlimited pass. its a bit of a climb from the metro back to the hotel but there is a taxi rank next to the metro and costs around 6 euros. the hotel does not do evening meals but there is a good little restaurant less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. i intend to return to rome to see everything that i missed and i fully intend to return to the ARS hotel. many thanks.

"Nice hotel, good amenities."
James A, 23 Septembre 2019

Arrived very stressed as we were unable to find hotel, it's not easy to find, get a taxi. Receptionist Andrea, he was brilliant from the moment we arrived. Our room had an extra flight of stairs not accessed by the lift, we are both in our 70s, bare this in mind if you are elderly. We were offered another room, but as the original room was so nice, it had a balcony, we decided not to swap. Hotel is very clean, breakfast typical continental. This hotel is on a hill, if you are disabled or have difficulty walking this could be a problem. Thanks again Andrea for all your help.

"Daily Mail rip off"
Warren G, 17 Août 2019

My wife and I booked a 7 day trip to Italy through the Daily Mail. Our stay in Rome was 3 nights at the Ars Hotel. It's like staying in Croydon to visit London. The area is run down with overflowing bins every 50 metres and broken beer bottles littering the streets. First the plus. The staff are charming and helpful and speak excellent English. Now the downside. The hotel is a 15 minute hike from the Metro and it's impossible to find first time around and nit so easy second time around in the dark. Going round and round with suitcases in the heat of the day was challenging. We were able to rescue two bemused guests whom we encountered quite by chance outside a nearby kiosk. They were using Google maps and still couldn't find it. We showed them the way. The room was tiny and the lift erratic. The power cut out on our first and only night although it seemed to be a tripped fuse We escaped to a more centrally located guest house with larger more comfortable rooms. We lost our money but our current accommodation is cheaper. The description of the situation of this hotel was very deceptive. Thank you Broadway Travel. Let's hope for better luck at the Diana Park hotel in Florence. We'll let you all know!

"Great hotel"
Beverley C, 06 Août 2019

This hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are very welcoming and friendly the breakfast which was included was also very nice with a nice choice of food, it's location is good as it is a five to ten minute walk to the metro

"Not a four star!"
808aseela, 04 Août 2019

It's supposed to be a 4 stars hotel but it doesn't have the services of a four stars! It's good, clean, polite reception staff. The elevator is so slow and sometimes not working which is some kind of difficult with a baby stroller! It's far from everything in Rome, but near to a metro station.

"Flawless stay"
gabnemes, 22 Juin 2019

Kind Hotel crew, clean room, good service, we were fully satisfied with the Hotel at all aspects. We also loved the location, which is around 30 minutes from city centre by public transport depending on what you plan to visit. Due to the location we have been pulled out from the busy city at the end of the day, what made our stay even more pleasant. And Rome is beautiful, my favourite capital after my Hungarian capital,Budapest. :) I strongly recommend this Hotel to stay at.

"Fantastic hotel if visiting Rome and you dont want to be in city centre"
Alan D, 07 Juin 2019

This hotel us everything you want. A short bus or train ride into the centre of Rome. Clean and comfortable which is what we wanted on our short trip. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Staff very accommodating and pleasant. Will stay again when we revisit Rome

"Great hotel in a quiet area!"
CRM352, 03 Juin 2019

My wife and I stayed at the ARS Hotel for two nights; I have to say it was very nice and although not central was easy to get around. The room was very clean and tidy but we did have a sloping ceiling in the bathroom and if you are over 6ft tall this will be a challenge! The bedroom was to the side of the hotel and was nice and quiet so no problem sleeping. The reception staff was very helpful and friendly and recommended a local restaurant Casa Claudia on our first night giving us a card for a welcome drink. The breakfast was lovely and again the staff was welcoming and helpful. The bus stop is just at the end of the main road or a 10 minute walk to the Metro underground which was easy to use. Reception staff will be more than happy to give you a map with directions so just ask. I would definitely recommend this Hotel.

"Friendly"
Donna T, 07 Mai 2019

Although a 30 minute bus ride from the centre of Rome this was a lovely hotel. in a quiet street about 5 minutes from the bus stop. Receptionists were friendly, the room was clean. the bed was comfortable what more could you ask for. restaurants close by. we used Casa Claudia twice a recommendation of one of the receptionist. great food.

"Trip to Rome"
Thereasa O, 24 Avril 2019

Stayed here over first week of Easter holidays. Is a small hotel up a small hill .nice quiet location only about 5/10 min walk from bus stops which take you to centre of Rome . They have just become part of best Western hotels . Room was a bit on small size and the shower but for time we were in the room it was fine . Bed was very comfortable . We stayed in room 211 which was nice had a little balcony . Breakfast was ok .staff were very helpful and friendly .they gave us a map and drew circles around main attractions they gave us directions of how to get to centre of Rome and some nice places to eat . Would recommend this hotel

"Nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood"
VictorNov, 14 Avril 2019

Nice, clean and fair priced. The room is spacious and comfortable. Not centrally located but didn't matter to me as this wasn't a holiday trip. The place is very quiet surrounded by a garden. Breakfast wasn't anything to brag about but overall I'd stay here again.
