SureStay by Best Western Richmond Vancouver Airport

First time staying for a couple of days at the Best Western SureStay Hotel chain. The hotel is an older hotel on the main road. Check in was fast and friendly. The room with twin queen beds was clean and fresh even if it has older furniture and is dated. The beds were excellent and nice and firm for a good nights sleep with the room very quiet. The housekeeping was daily with no need to inquire at the front desk like other hotels. All the staff were pleasant and friendly. A big plus for us was the gated underground car park for our vehicles safety. The two downsides of our stay were #1: the pillows provided on the beds were a joke! In all the last 30 years of travelling the world I have never seen anything like it. A chair cushion wrapped in a pillow case?? See the picture. Luckily we had brought our own pillows with us! #2: The breakfast is the poorest we have ever had at a Best Western Hotel with little selection which is repeated daily. Would I go back again....debating that one!

Doesn't look like much from outside but decent rate for Richmond based Vancouver airport hotel within walking distance of many restaurants and services. Easy check in. Room 416. Pleasant and clean. Only one desk chair so have to sit on bed. One cup coffee packs with paper cups. Plastic glasses but only tap water which was good. Room fridge. Small and functional bathroom. Strong and loud AC unit provided good background noise to mask those other annoying hotel noises. Free breakfast in the lobby does the job. Free shuttle to the airport.

When booking this hotel we knew that it is cheap and older. We had no expectations otherwise. However, what we did not expect was the absolutely amazing staff. They had accommodated an adjoining room request coming from a third party booking site from separate bookings. They were kind, helpful and went over and beyond on customer service. The breakfast was also fresh and great with warm food options.

The staff here were without a doubt the most polite and friendliest I have experienced in a long time. I have stayed at hotels that cost 3 to 4 times as much and didn't have the consistent professionalism I received at his hotel. Both gentlemen I spoke with at the front desk were great. Everything was clean (and smelled clean) - the room was fine, the price was absolutely reasonable. The free breakfast was a bonus

This seemed like such a happy hotel to me. Everyone I encountered was cheerful, helpful, and truly friendly. There is a shuttle service from the airport, with a very helpful driver (it is a shuttle that is shared with the Executive Inn, which is across the street and has a restaurant), The rate is excellent. It has a great breakfast. I had scrambled eggs and ham, yogurt, croissant, cereal with milk, and coffee. It has a public wifi access point in case you need it. I recommend it highly if you are looking for a place near YVR. I have stayed at many of them over the years and this is head and shoulders above :)

Room was behind the counter and tired. On the ground floor and someone standing outside looking for someone. At the front desk asked for a different room and was informed the hotel was full even though it was available to book online . Asked to cancel my booking but was informed that as I had been in the room. They couldn't cancel the booking. Thought this level of service went extinct in the 80's .

I've stayed here four times in the past couple of months, which says a lot. The staff are consistently friendly and professional, the rooms are clean, and the free underground parking and easy Wi-Fi are a big plus. The muffins and coffee at breakfast are also a highlight. That said, the red decorative blankets on the beds could use an update, and the hotel does show its age with dated finishes, but everything is kept clean, and the retro vibe has its charm. Overall, I'll keep coming back and recommend this hotel.

The hotel is near airport, 15 mins by their shuttle. Great staff, room and superb breakfast. The park at the rear of the hotel is beautiful. Hotel is a little dated but that adds to its appeal. Slept well

Get a room facing the park. It's worth it. Staff is wonderful (especially Adair at the front desk) & work hard to keep the place clean & comfortable. Breakfast was good, with meat (ham). Only downer was their ill-conceived practice of having a shuttle bus that is only for flight crew. Many of us were insulted by this & we felt sorry for the driver who had to take some abuse from other upset customers. If they stay with this dumb policy, they need to put highly visible signage on the side of their "special people only" shuttle to indicate this.

This was our first trip to Richmond. Found a great deal. I liked that the hotel offers parking with the room and a pretty good continental breakfast. (Freshly made scrambled eggs, muffins from a local bakery, coffee, etc.) The location was perfect for our needs, being walkable to transit and various restaurants. My issues: the beds really hurt my back and my husband's. While I have back issues, my husband does not, so it was not just sensitivity. Neither of us had a good night sleep due to the pain in our backs. Additionally, the walls are paper thin. Though not the fault of the hotel, our neighbors were obnoxiously loud around 4 AM and between their noise and the bad beds, there was no more sleep. That all said, the staff here are really nice. They were friendly and took care during our check-in, as well as being helpful during breakfast. Overall, I do recommend this place if location, parking, breakfast, and good staff are high on your list!

The staff were all excellent, with everyone from the cleaning staff to the breakfast room to the front desk saying hello. The room was fine, but there were large cracks in the door to the hallway that let through a lot of light, as the hallway was brightly lit throughout the day and night. The cracks also allowed a lot of noise from hallway traffic to enter. The bathroom in particular was a little worn down, but everything was clean.

Great location for an overnight before flying out of YVR or going to the Richmond Conference Centre. . If you are in reasonable shape it is a short walk with luggage from the Brighouse ( Richmond Centre ) Skytrain station. The building seems well maintained and our room was very clean. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We needed no special accommodation but got the feeling that they would have done whatever we might have asked for. The included breakfast was entirely sufficient and more than a token minimal continental offering. There was a woman in attendance for the breakfast who would cook up eggs ( and things?) for you. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the airport if you reserve the night before. It seems that the hotel is right in with the others for airport proximity and is across the street from the Conference Centre. There are many, (mostly chinese food), restaurants very nearby so eating out is easy. This is a budget hotel but knowing that in advance modifies expectations. All our expectations were met and exceeded; they try hard to make our stays as good as possible.

Don't let the looks of this place fool you. Nicely done Best Western. This hotel was great. The rooms were clean, very quite and the shower had plenty of hot water. The front desk staff was very helpful and the cleaning staff second to none. It says that they only offer a continental breakfast, but it was way more than that. There was eggs and ham, bagels, toast, muffins and croissants. Yogurt, 4 types of cold cereal, instant oatmeal, 4 types of cold juices, coffee and tea. The lady that works there is great, always with a smile. Just do her a favor and only put your bread in the toaster once, or you will set off the fire alarm.
