I always stay here when I'm flying anywhere. It's very convenient, reasonable prices with good, quality rooms! My family and I have been staying at this hotel for years and I always recommend it to my friends! Hopefully y'all get checked in by Samson, he's the best!
The bed was great but every time I had to take my dog out, the entry key would not work. Was charged for our support dog and that is not fair! The prices were high as was the restaurant on the property. Maid service was almost non-existent. The maids apparently did not speak English.
Jo and Juan at the front desk, and the airport shuttle driver provided EXCELLENT customer service. Wonderful to feel true hospitality these days! Fantastic location I was able to walk back from my rental car return and airport shuttle is 24/7.
They discriminate dog people by trying to stick them in an absolutely SMELLY and not do clean room. If you have pets, just DONT do it. Spend a bit more and get a good room! Thank God for Sonesta ES in So. Reno
Didn't get any sleep because of the paper thin walls. First floor room we could hear every single step of the guest above us. That guy sounded like he walked a marathon all night! Our room had a strange odor like an old casino that I can't wait to get home and shower cause i feel like it's going to follow me. The A/C in the room makes odd strange sounds but needs to be on because the room is so stuffy and smelly. I wouldn't stay again if you plan on getting a nights rest. I read the reviews and took a chance…i shoulda known trying to save a buck. Now you know.
I chose this hotel for location based on reviews of good experiences and cleanliness. I would not stay here again because of the thin floors and walls. The noise from the room above was annoying. You could hear every footstep unless there truly were elephants above me. Cleanliness was fine. For a hotel that appears newly remodeled, it was ok.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. There was a minimum amount of towels in our room but the maid service was very helpful in providing more and replacing the towels each day. The rooms are very outdated. If you like orange, you'll probably love them.
Best hotel! Monty who works at the front desk was AMAZING and so helpful. I showed up in the middle of the night and he so kindly helped me with the laundry mat - even giving me coins to operate. It is so nice to be greeted with such kindness!!
I enjoyed my stay because of the friendly service and restaurant. My room was clean and internet service worked well. My experience with the shuttle was outstanding and because the hotel is next to the airport it takes approximately 1 minute to arrive at the entrance.
Very nice hotel the staff is super helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant/bar. but a little pricey food is a tad bit off average, but you don't have to drive anywhere. Overall I am very happy with this stay.
When arriving at the hotel. The fridge/ freezer was not on in the room. My daughter had pumped her breast milk for 2 weeks so she could attend a 2 day concert in the area. She kept the milk frozen during the flight from CO. I, her Mom, flew from AK to watch the baby while she attended. She went to the front desk and told them about the fridge and her situation. They offered to store her milk in the hotel freezer for her. 2 days later when I arrived to watch the baby, she went to get the milk. They could not find it at first. After 20 minutes or so, it was located in a fridge. The milk cannot keep, even in a fridge for over 2 days. It has to be frozen until used. It was a sad sight to see my daughter sobbing as those at the front desk witnessed. At that point, I told her that I would talk to the staff as she was SO upset…. they were great, very sympathetic and kind. They said they would call the manager. One went on her FB to try to get some replacement milk from a local breast milk bank. I knew the manager was off for the weekend. I gave my number to the staff and asked for her to call me. This was on Sat morning. Sat night I asked the staff if they had talked to the manager, they said they had and she said there was nothing they could do…. I did say, I hope, at least she would comp the hotel for the awful thing that was done. If not, I would be talking to a lawyer… I was not threatening or loud. There was no reason to be. Sunday night, I went to the staff again and told them I was leaving in the morning and that the manager had not called me. The member asked if I wanted to talk to her now and he called her. I never made him do that. He called her and I could hear everything. She was so put out and mean about it. I then asked to talk to her. I never raised my voice, she was so flabbergasted that I bothered her on her day off, with her son, blah blah blah. She said “ we do not take things for the hotel freezer”. I said, but you did. Not, once did she ever say, that is too bad what happened..no empathy at all. Accused me of lying that the fridge did not work. Said she was writing up the employee who took the milk. Why would I bother her on her day off when she would be in the next day. I should just wait. I said I would be gone by the time she came to work. To be clear, when I went to the staff, I only asked him for her number, he offered to call her. I did say that as a manager, it should be her job to take care of things, even on her day off. I, again, never raised my voice. I eventually handed the phone back and said that I no longer wanted to talk to her… I could her here berating the staff for calling her. They are told to call HER as the manager to handle problems. I contacted customer service for Best Western hotels and they gave the manager the report. I have received an email from her and it was mean, and accusatory saying that I was awful to the staff. That they do not provide freezers with the fridge in the room. That my daughter should never have given the milk to a young college age guy ????????? Really !!!!! Why didn't my daughter talk to her. WRONG. Shame shame on this hotel and this manager. They did nothing. I feel so bad for these employees working under such mean, negative manager. Again, the staff was great, the room was great, except for the fridge/freezer. The whole situation was horrible the way the milk was not put where they said it would be and the way the manager took no responsibility for anything that happened and she was mean.
excellent experience Perfect location for early flight. Great airport transfer. Helpfull staff. Clean spacious room comfortable bed Good in room coffee. Convenient restauraNt on site. Great value Definitely would stay ther e agaiun
Room was very outdated, musty, and uncomfortable. Staff is the only highlight of the property. . Bed was so soft that we were in pain in the morning. We cancelled the rest of our stay after the first night, and the staff was extremely helpful in doing so. In fact stated that they “understood completely,” but offered no additional compensation for the awful night before. Cancelled further upcoming nights here. . As we are flying all summer and fall and had booked here for convenience. Kinda bummed but it was one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had.
The assigned room given to us for our two-day stay wasn't quite up to Best Western standards. Unfortunately, the first room had a king-sized mattress that had a hump in the center of it. Plus, the bathroom tile was cracked and broken around the toilet. We told front-desk staff about the issue and they took us to a another room to inspect. That room was great, plus more updated. Thanks to staff for getting everything right for us. We also enjoyed having a dinner in the hotel's lounge during our two-day stay. We had a good time.
Good location next to the airport. Close to freeways and access points, but nothing too walkable around it. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Some parts of the hotel may feel a little dated and the beds were a little stiffer than I prefer, but overall, the hotel was very clean, and I felt safe at this location as a solo traveler.
Clean, courteous, attentive. Fitness room was clean. Laundry services were great. Grounds were well kept. Had a choice of floors. Asked if I needed a shuttle at checkout. I would recommend this facility.
Dont let the magnificent lobby fool you. That is about the only thing 'above average' for this Best Western SureStay. I am in hotels 250 days out of the year, and a Diamond Select member (their highest tier) You would think that should come with a perk or two, like getting the room I requested. I asked for 1st floor, near exit only to arrive to a choice of three rooms, all on the third floor, midway down the hall. Insult to injury, I should have been acknowledged as a premium member upon arrival and given the lowly 2 bottles of 'free' water they give status members. Nope. I was barely noticed upon arrival, the front desk clerk (older female, dark hair, glasses, name starts with an S) was cold, rude and could care less to try to accommodate me with the room I requested and when I asked her about a ground level she acted like I had asked her for a key to her own house. She was So rude in fact that I called the Best Western Corporate before I even unpacked. I have NEVER called corporate for any company for any reason. There was no coffee available in the lobby as is common with most hotels, unless you wanted to pay $6. for a cup at the 'coffee garden' which is only open a few hours in the morning. Nor was any sort of breakfast offered other than a 15% discount at the hotel restaurant/bar Now lets talk about the room. Like I said, third floor, mid-hallway. It was ok, bed was soft, towels fresh and clean, decent number of cable channels, single cup coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. I am glad to have gotten one with carpet, and the carpet was clean, no worries about walking around in stockings. Plenty of drawers as well. Internet was lightening fast, but there was a lack of available outlets and no alarm clock. Want to know what time it is? Ask the microwave. Always refused room service, leaving a do not disturb sign out except ONE day out of the 11 I was there. Thats kind of a hint that room service is wanted right? NOPE. They completely skipped my room that day. Had to go to the lobby and tell them I did expect at least one room cleaning. Turns out they didn't 'even have the room on the board for cleaning'. Meaning, they didn't care to check. Oh well. Like I said, the room was adequate. It's the little things that turned off this premiere member. Like asking for a late check out (Normally 11:00) to be told, begrudgingly 'we can give you until 12, only to have housekeeping knocking on my door at 11:10 to ask me when I am leaving so she can clean the room. As I said, dont let the grand lobby fool you, it won't cover up the LACK of care and customer service this place seems to be good at. Oh,and about being on the third floor.....seems that when they have snow or rain the ceiling in the hallways leak. 12/03 there was a small snow storm and it quickly melted. That afternoon there were several buckets in the hallways, the false ceiling partially removed, and water pouring in. Can't imagine if it was leaking in the rooms, at least mine didn't leak.
Very close to the airport but no noise heard by me in my room. Only entry to side doors are with key card. Spacious lobby and room was everything as advertised. Complimentary bottles of water (2) upon check-in. Great location!
I've stayed at this hotel many times since it's right across the road from the airport and it's always been fine. But last week was a problem. I had reserved a room at the last minute because a storm was coming in so after I dropped off my rental car I called many phone numbers online to get the shuttle from the airport to the hotel. There was NO phone number that went to the hotel so I had to take a taxi!! (I found out the shuttle # is 775-348-6370 option 2.) When I got to the room I went to take a shower but there was no hot water!! And the faucet outside the bathroom was all wobbly. The carpeting was very old and had bumps so I was concerned about tripping over that. I did have dinner in the bar and the bartender was very friendly. Breakfast began at 7:00 with a sweet waitress. I just hope they renovate before I need to fly back.
The front desk was well run with friendly and dependable staff who catered to our company's needs. At the hotel is close to the airport and key businesses and restaurants, it was well positioned to take advantage of what Reno has to offer to both the business and tourist traveler.
Older hotel. The rooms and overall decor are dated. Very tiny pool. But the most unpleasant is the rude front desk male manager. Not long after we checked in, the toilet flooded. I went down to report the incident and asked to change room. The front desk manager, Jason?, said he would only send a maintenance crew to take a look because they were sold out. I waited for 30 minutes, but no one showed up. I went down to check as I need to attend a concert in 2 hours. He said he had no staff and handed me a towel! I demand for a room change again. But he said he had no room, and made a very inappropriate joke meant to belittle me! I was beyond shocked! I will never come back to this hotel. But I must give a show out to the driver/maintenance crew, Llorando, (I hope I spell his name right). He showed up to check on the toilet. Since the toilet can't be fixed right away, he told me that he knew of a room available. He then contacted another front desk manager, a female one, to arrange the change room. He delivered the key to me and made sure everything is ok with the new room before leaving home. He is the reason that I gave 2 stars. The front desk male manager should learn customer service from the maintenance staff!
Staff is always nice here. The rooms are older but clean and very spacious. The onsite restaurant and bar for breakfast and dinner or drinks is nice, when it is open. The lobby is huge and has comfortable seating option, and the central private courtyard is beautiful. It is right across the street from the airport (no noticeable noise) so you can walk over or take their shuttle.
They put us in a room right across from the ice machine which woke us up every time someone used it. The walls are thin and we could hear everything the people above us said plus they sounded like a heard of elephants walking around. We only slept there because we had an early morning flight and it was very expensive for less than 12 hours of using it. We never used the shower.
On Saturday, 9/3/22. We stayed at Surestay Plus Reno in room 146. Robert Latimer. When we checked out there we're two pet fees. An error they removed one. Upon checking credit card online there was a charge of 45.20 which did not appear on my bill. I asked the desk what was it for. They did not know and it didn't show on their end. They told to call tomorrow and speak to management as there were no manager there on the weekend. I have not been able to get through. Suddenly the 45.20 today it disappeared from my account. Obviously someone spotted the error and removed it. Why was it there in the first place and why was the hotel trying to charge me two pet fees ? I am very disappointed in the hotels accounting methods.
I was very comfortable I had an awesome dinner the vegetables were fresh. The pet walking area was clean and well kept very appreciated by myself and my dog. I will be making a reservation for next month.
We had arrived after a 7 hr drive from Vegas. We were able to book an accessible room for my handicapped husband. We booked two nights but were not told that we would have maid service. Had we known, we would have put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. One of my husbands medical jars was taken by mistake during the maid's visit while we were out. The hotel is short staffed and that added to the frustration. I probably wouldn't stay here again. The AAA discount price as $126 per night.
I have been coming here for years and feel right at home. Taylor at the bar area is excellent. Elizabeth in the restaurant is also excellent. The hotel is a home like feeling place. I enjoy the peace and quiet. The great staff is always welcoming. The rooms are just as normal can be but the nice quiet atmosphere is worth it if you dont like the hustle and bustle of noise.
No maid service, restaurant not open for dinner, pet room had carpet, smelled bad, had to buy my coffee because maid service did not restock our room. Finally asked the front seat for coffee, cups and toiletries
My most recent overnight stay is yet another experience for me to recommend Sure Stay by Best Westerns (Airport Plaza). in these trying and challenging times, it's a relief and pleasure to encounter the genuine and sincere professionalism making travel "easier" as delivered by McKenna,Jason and the other staff of this property. IF You are looking for non-casino, convenient, pleasant, comfortable place to stay... consider Sure Stay Airport Plaza.
We were at Lake Tahoe for a few days, with an early flight back east, so we booked a room at this hotel. After Tahoe prices, it was a relief to get an overnight room in the range of $100. The room had a strong odor of cleaning solution when we entered, but it faded as the evening wore on. The restaurant was not doing table service, but we could get drinks and food at the bar. The bathtub faucet had strong pressure, but the shower did not. There is a lovely central courtyard with grass and a pool. Breakfast at the restaurant was OK, but not enough servers! This is a continuing problem at restaurants everywhere.
Had our family reunion there, hospitality was great, perfect sized room for our needs, great food, and service for food. If you like memory foam beds, this is the place to stay. Only thing a few of us did not like, and maybe it is a normal thing there, which is the outdoor smoking area, can only be in one spot as if you are quarintined for being a smoker. Now maybe it is like that at other hotels in the area, as I never checked into it.
The person at check in was terrible, I asked myself why I keep coming back after checking in. As usual the room keys needed reprogramed, This is quite inconvenient at the end of a work day having to walk around the hotel with my bags and dinner because your to cheap to fix your keycard problem, and this is not a new problem. This has been an issue for years now and you clearly have respect for your customers since the problem never gets fixed.
I visited the restaurant here with 3 other friends. We went to go to the bar for drinks and a bite. The bar was closed due to the bartender calling out. As I get there to meet my party there was a gentleman at the entrance to the bar very upset, there was a manager that was telling him of all their call outs, and being short staffed, and he can go into the restaurant and get drinks. He stated he had an event and was to have a mixer in the Bar, (lol in the closed bar?!!). The gentleman informed if you couldn't handle the event. That they shouldn't have taken the booking. Sounds reasonable. When I get to the table, I am informed there is only ONE waitress. I now think if your shorthanded, why are you referring someone to the restaurant with only ONE waitress. I am sitting at my table and see the manager, who I as informed was from the front desk walk into restaurant kitchen and come out with two salads in containers and go back to his office behind doors. And I know this because I am still sitting there waiting for anything a menu or drink. He couldn't pass out pitchers of water. I then learn the waitress has been there since 6a...OMG. When were they notified of the call outs? Toward the end of my finally received meal, I did see whom I assume to be management come in and clear tables. However, she was asked when a patron walked in, do I seat myself? She said ummm and ran and got the ONE waitress. I am told by another member of our party she complained and called the hotel directly and spoke to a "manager" and was informed " oh you didn't leave" was she suggesting that this would have been better than, all hands-on deck even management? I am beyond disbelief of this visit. The visit was 05/15. I am writing here now, because no one has contacted me on my previously sent complaint, and when my friend spoke to the manager at the hotel directly, she was told that Oh, this is the first time I am hearing of a complaint......really...Really.... What leadership do they have? Does the owner know or care? I don't know if they can't handle an event. I just wish any all-good luck in visiting this Sure Stay Plus, by Best western
Very clean with hardwood laminate floors. The bed was super comfortable which was welcome and needed on the last leg of our road trip. By the airport but not noisy. The hotel itself is pretty. There is a bath tub in the room. It was kind of pricey for what it is. The hotel is super understaffed. They can't answer phone calls, so you can't call the desk for questions. And it was a long walk back to the front desk and then there was always a long line. Also there appeared to be just one person running the entire bar and restaurant. She was taking all the orders, mixing drinks, bringing food, and would disappear in the back for a long time, leading me to believe that she was prepping food or at the minimum doing all the dishes. I couldn't even get her attention, so I ordered a pizza delivery for dinner, again a pricey option. Ended up spending over $200 for a nights stopover because I was too tired to drive the last 3 hours.
Would not recommend this place to anyone! We are long time Best western rewards members and I have never had a experience like this one. The gentleman that checked us in was beyond horrible. Very rude and told me to shut up more than once. We had just gotten married and was using our points for our room, He acted like he was giving me charity or something. We had no water in our room starting about 1 am. Just a horrible stay. We use Best western roughly 30 plus times a year. My husband works out of town often for weeks at a time and we only use Best western, I have never had any complaints against a location. This is a first!
Great location close to the airport and good price. However, the bed with mattress was way too tall. I'm 5'2" and I can get on/off bed. Would be difficult for older folks or people with medical issues. Used tge shuttle service to catch our flight home. However, we dropped off our rental the day before. Called shuttle # and got voice-mail, waited 15 min and called back, someone answered but call seemed to drop or they hung up. As a result, we walked back to the hotel.
They decided to do some maintenance work and turned the water off to part of the hotel. I was in the shower with shampoo in my hair. The water did not get turned back on before we had to check out. Yuck!
Plumbing was broken, maintenance showed up but did not fix it. The desk clerk's only solution was a 10% discount. Management was unavailable. We never got to bathe, never received a refund offer, nor even an apology.
Room was not up to par for Best Western Plus. Very dated look with no outlets for charging devices. Our room was missing shower soap, a pillow case, tissues. Front desk Staff are friendly and shuttle to/from airport is fast and free.
Employees are not happy campers and thus make guests feel unwelcome.. Restaurant and bar only open sometimes due to staff shortage so staff recommend going across the street to Aloft, so I would recommend just staying at Aloft.
My family stayed here for two nights for our daughter's volleyball tournament. SureStay staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel and room are very clean and comfortable. Location is convenient with Costco and restaurants nearby. Thank you!
Just need hot water the hotel is old but it's a room , hot water None only warm or cold when showering, need the free breakfast , you will pay for breakfast and it expensive to me 14.00 for Ham & egg , 9.50 for pancakes, 3.50 for Coffee , but to each is his own
Stayed here twice now. Second trip we had no hot water in our room, so needless to say our showers in the morning were not very pleasant. Upon calling and complaining the front desk said “maintenance will reset the boilers”… well that didn't fix it. We had to move rooms the second night to get hot water. Also the free Wi-Fi had only 1 bar and was very slow. I do have to say that Jason at the front desk when we checked in was awesome! Super nice friendly and helpful.
We stayed overnight because of an early dr. appointment and it turned out to be perfect. We arrived early, checked in, we have a dog so she was with us, no problem and was even welcome in the bar / restaurant for dinner. The room was very comfortable, clean, and super comfortable bed.
The check in was great especially since Expedia cancelled our reservation. Lobby was inviting. Double queen room only had 2 chairs. Not the end of the world. This just doesn't make sense to me. Drawer on night table broken, handle on the dresser broken. Appliances plugged into probably a fire hazard of a power strip hanging below dresser. It's all probably petty but for $168/night you'd think they would.take some care in appearances and up keep. Cheap, old crusty Farmers coffee pods in the room, zero complimentary options for breakfast. Again, $168/night. Upsides...dog bed with treats and a doggie bag in the room. Small pet area very close to the room. And it's Nevada, so we were allowed to bring our drinks back to the room! They even supplied a drink carrier!
No hot water and no tv. I would never stay here again!!! If this represents the chain, I will never stay at the chain again. In Reno stay at the Peppermill that has airport transportation. VERY BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!
I've stayed at this horrible hotel/motel twice this year and had 2 bad experiences. The first time I requested a wake up call at 3 am and NEVER received a call. IF I hadn't set my own alarm, I would have missed my plane. My husband and I then stayed here in February. The dining room (what a laugh) was absolutely freezing--it seems they have NO heat! They had 2 small space heaters which is probably illegal. Even the waitress had on a heavy sweatshirt. Then, we got up at 3:30 am to take a shower and get to the airport and there was NO water at the bathtub faucet. We called the front desk and received no answer. We had to get to our plane so we had to travel with no shower. We told the desk clerk and she seemed not concerned. We called and spoke with the manager who said he had driven us to the airport (interesting that the manager is driving the van at 4 am). He said he went back to our room after he dropped us off at the airport and the water worked fine. My husband is extremely handy and he did everything he could think of to get us water for a shower. The manager basically told us tough luck and would not provide any compensation. Please, if you want a clean, nice room, AVOID this place.
Convenient located next to the airport and still you can have a good rest as it's a quiet hotel. It's not really fancy and outdated here and there but staff take good care and are friendly. The restaurant offers good breakfast. The only issue is the hot water, it may take some time to get nice warm water.
I was traveling with my lab as copilot, and ended up taking longer than expected. I needed to stop for the night, and apparently traveling with an 80 lb dog, isn't easy to find hotels that will accommodate. Surestay met all my requirements of safety to me, easy to get my dog to the pet area, and a happy little extra of a cushy dog bed! Thank you!
It's conveniently located across from the airport and they offer shuttle service. You're greeted by clean lobby and friendly front desk staff. The facility is spacious. They have a nice lounge with the best bartender. Rooms are clean and spacious. And it's always quiet
If you need that one place to stay and fell welcome this is the place Or if you want a quiet night stay here it was a complete dream to be here friendly service and restaurant was excellent too room service was great
This place was so disgusting. Old. Dirty. No sound proofing. Heard every cough, shower, dog bark. Cramped room. Sliding door lock broken. What an embarrassment for Best Western. I'll never stay at a Sure Stay again.
I stayed in Room 122 this was the same room I was in last month, There is no desk chair in the room, I stay a week per visit, I have to have me room keys reprogrammed daily, breakfast starts at 7am, most working people start at 7. if it was not for the BW points I would never consider staying there. Your property could so easily be a decent hotel but you don't even seem to try.
For starters, the reservations clerk was inattentive, incompetent, rude and flippant. Other than finally getting us a key to our room, she was a total loss. This hotel must really be having a hiring problem. Our room was okay, but the furniture is old and scratched. The room was very dated, although sleep was comfortable. Check out was just as bad if not worse than check in. I asked for a printed receipt, and the same clerk that checked us in gave me a blank sheet of paper ! ! ! This place should be called a "Worst Western Hotel." I will never stay at this location again.
Traveling with a dog can be complicated so we always do our due diligence. We called the 1800 number to figure out if this hotel would be a fit for us. Spoke to the representative about the pet policy and was told they do except pets for a fee and said nothing else. We used our credit card points to book the room. We show up that eve and there is one woman working, and pissed off she was working, to the point she even apologized and then laughed and said I'm being an a$$hole, sorry. This was before we even started the details of checking in! Oh, I guess I should mention she was also on speaker phone with boyfriend/dude talking about her evening plans: this call was going on while checking in the people in front of us in and persisted even after we left the counter. We tell her we also need to pay the pet fee, and she tells us we don't have a pet specific room and all those are sold out for the night. We explain we called about reservations and no one mentioned anything about pet specific rooms, only that there is a pet fee. She says I don't know what to tell you, but I have other people to help behind you. I ask to speak to a manger and she says there are no managers. She just blew us off. In the lobby I call the 1800 number again and probe the agent about pets before I explain our situation, and the agent says the same thing when asked: yes we except pets and it's a $20 fee. I ask is there anything else I should know or things I have to do to bring my pet and she says no just pay the fee. So, still zero mention of needing a specific room, only that there's a fee. Now I explain my situation and then the operator tells me “well yes we do have specific rooms.” Why would you not disclose this information upfront especially if there are limited rooms that allow pets?!? Regardless the lady on the phone was very pleasant and kindly told me she had 3 pet rooms available, so I booked one. I can understand people make mistakes, or that there's confusion, or bad protocol for explaining pet policy. I can also take some responsibility for not drilling the operator harder for details regarding pets, but I don't have any tolerance for rude people who suck at their job, and unfortunately the real blame falls on management for allowing this to be the face of your hotel. At the desk zero explanation of how I magically reserved a room that wasn't available, only a snide have a good night.
I've stayed at this property many times in the past, and this most recent stay was definitely the most disappointing. Very limited restaurant hours (and not well heated); high room price for what you get. The proximity to the airport is the primary reason I chose this property.
My room was pleasant at first site but after settling in I noticed a pile of crumbs at the base of the dresser. They were NOT hidden in any way and some of the crumbs were as big as chick peas (I have photos). After a while I was using the bathroom sink and noticed a used zip tie on the counter (Have photos). Maybe these issues would be no big deal in itself but I have to wonder how thorough the rest of my room was cleaned. NOT!!!!!
Overall the stay was not terrible. I had an issue with reservation, as I had requested a pet friendly room, but my travel agent only had the option to book regular rooms. Initially the front desk was being very uncooperative, even after I offered to pay ANY price differences/fees. It took a call to my travel agent, United Vacations, and Best Western Corporate to finally correct the reservation. Other than that, everything was fine. The beds were on the firmer side, which I personally like. The room was very clean, and the shower had great water pressure! Only other complaint was walls. The wallpaper was peeling all over the bathroom and in the corners of the bedroom.
Directly across from airport- perfect for early morning departures or late night arrivals, but I didn't notice any airport noise. Plenty of parking. Room, bed and bath were all fine and comfortable. Restaurant in building but no free breakfast. Good if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of a large casino hotel. Very nice looking outdoor courtyard area with pool to enjoy if it was warm.
We stayed at this hotel two nights on the way into Reno and one night before flying home. Both times our flights had us in early and the hotel graciously (and without a charge) allowed us into open rooms early. We REALLY appreciated this as we were very tired from our travels. The front desk was attentive and very helpful. The rooms were well furnished and clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean with fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. Even thought we were beside the airport the rooms were quiet and we slept very well. Our plane arrived late our first night and we did not have to worry about our room being given away, which was very nice! The shuttle was on demand and took us to the airport as needed. The driver was friendly and helpful. We will stay here again if we travel back to Reno or through Reno again!
Asked front clerks 4 times to have housekeeping to service my room and in the 5 night stays ignored my request. Had to go to the front desk to ask for more towels. Had to chase down house keeping for more coffee and cups. I asked at check out for managers name and ignored my question.
My Wife had to walk approx. 100 yds, using her walker,. from Handicapped parking to room-unacceptable; If she could easily walk that far we wouldn't even need a Handicapped room. Other than that the room was very clean and we had no problems whatsoever. Staff upon check in was pleasant & cordial.
This is an airport hotel and geared for the flyer who has a wheelie and maybe a backpack, but not for us, who had luggage for a monthlong trip. First, management has one receptionist for everybody checking in and that took half an hour. But secondly, there was nobody else around to help with the luggage! Our room just about the farthest one from the front desk. The hotel is huge, about the size of a city block. The front desk was, say, in the lower left corner and the room was in the far right corner. There's luggage carts, but there's only three and they're at the front desk. What this means is you get your key, drive around two blocks to your room, Get out, and then walk the two blocks back to the front desk to get the cart, then push the empty cart back to your car, load it up and get your stuff up to your room, then walk the two blocks pushing the two blocks back to the front desk, again pushing the empty cart back to the front desk, then walk two blocks back to your room--a total of eight blocks. Repeat same in the morning of departure. There is a big sign on the cart saying you are under surveillance and being watched as you do this, in case you decide to keep the cart in your room. Management will have you on tape and add $50 to your bill for not pushing the cart back. I don't know if management is telling you the truth, but it is Reno and the hotels and casinos are notorious for have an "eye in the sky" so you don't cheat. The temperature dropped down into the 40s that night, and there was no heat in the room Nuff said. We use the bath towels for extra blankets. Room was clean and a good value, but the extra luggage chore added another hour to the check-in. Bout and hour and a half total.
Stayed here over the weekend of the Reno Air Show and multiple concerts in town, so the rate was quite high for Reno. Have stayed in Reno hundreds of times and have never paid this much for a hotel, but I understand demand drives up the rates. The room was clean and relatively quiet, and they left a dog bed and bag of treats and poop bags which we appreciated. They also have a decent sized dog relief area which was convenient. Also their dog fee is only $20 which is on the low side. No breakfast offered at this time but the restaurant was open. Valeria was great at both check out and check in, very friendly and professional. Would stay here again, definitely convenient if you need to roll out of bed for an early flight, so close you can literally walk to the terminal. This hotel definitely represents the Best Western brand well.
This motel has a nice area to walk dogs. They put dog treats and a nice dog bed in the room. There is a restaurant on site although the hours are a bit shortened. It's open basically for breakfast but dinner is available in the bar most nights.
Our room smelled like cigarettes. The beds are very hard. But the room was clean. The hotel itself was clean as well. Located by the airport and convenient entrance onto the freeway. No maid service unless you were staying more than 2 nights
I was staying in Reno on a solo trip and wanted to get away from staying in downtown. This hotel is very close to I-395 so it was a convenient place to stay and I could get to where I was going easily. It is also within walking distance to the airport. I felt safe staying by myself. I booked a double queen room and the room was big. It had a table with two chairs and a microwave and refrigerator. Even though the hotel is next to the airport, I did not hear any planes. I also did not hear noise from my neighbors so I had a good night's sleep. I did not use any of the amenities so I cannot speak to them. Overall, I had a great stay and would stay here again when I want to get away from the downtown area.
I was traveling with a dog. The room had a huge dog bed and dog biscuits waiting for us. The dog area is kept clean. This is a busy hotel across the street from the airport. However you do NOT hear the planes. The room was clean and the pool area was nice.
This is the worst of the 3 dozen plus Best Western properties we have stayed at. Thankfully, no other property came close! They were understaffed and the staff that was there was way undertrained! Room needed lots of service and cleaning (Dog crap in front of the door to our room). Restaurant food was mediocre. No complimentary breakfast. Each visit to this hotel has gotten worse.
Front desk staff was rude and not helpful. Bedding and towels felt like Motel 6 rejects. No cleaning services provided until AFTER the 3rd day of stay. When I asked for fresh towels I was only given 2 bath towels. They don't answer the phone at the front desk.
Had a reservation at another hotel “Sands” it was filthy so we checked out and moved to the Best Western. It was great. The room was very clean but best of all we felt safe. Nobody hanging around the parking lot. No casino, but that did not take away from the hotel experience. There is a very large lobby and a cocktail lounge. At first I thought being this close to the airport it would by noisy, very surprised didn't hear a thing from the airport.
Decent place but we we disaster victims evacuated from our homes from the Caldor fire. They did not accomodate us in any fashion, in fact the rates were outrageous. Then after a brief stay, we were asked to leave so they could make room for their weekend tourists arriving.. Shame on you.
Everything was good, everything worked in the room, I have no complaints, the hotel is getting a bit dated but I will go back. They should start breakfast earlier 7am is too late for people on business 6am would be much better.
Very clean and staff were wonderful. Convenient that it's near the airport and has a shuttle whenever you need it. Nice that it has a bar with great food that's open for guests arriving late. Server was fantastic and had to do everything herself including food and bar service.
The hotel is beautiful. There was some wear and tear of the carpet in my room, but the room was really clean. The facility was secure, due to locks on all doors, requiring a room key to get in. There is also a bar which serves food in the evenings, so I didn't have to leave the hotel for dinner.
I stayed at the hotel after booking through a third party. After a completely lost front desk person checked me in and told me my credit card was just being used for incidentals, I found out later she double-charged me for my room. When contacting the hotel to get a refund for the second charge, the person was extremely rude and refused to pay back the money. There are lots of hotels near the Reno airport... choose a better one than this.
Hallways and rooms smelled like pee. Reservations for conjoined rooms were messed up. Carpets were bunched up caused a fall. Food was not complementary as promised. Under staffed and overpriced. Sink water pressure was too high sprayed out when turning on.
Despite the fact that part of the room per night fee goes to housekeeping, they do not provide it unless you stay 3 or more nights. We slept poorly due to the noise of the air conditioner and the noise of the nearby freeway.
Location, cleanliness, comfort are the top reasons I would stay here again. Staff is super friendly and helpfull I have stayed in Reno before, but this was the first time at Sure Stay and now I won't stay anywhere else. Best Western is the absolute best!!
Cannot recommend this hotel despite the location and price - it isn't worth it even for one night. Overall, the place is shabby/tacky and it smells bad. It is very spread out, and you might end up walking a long way to the room. The worn carpeting doesn't make it easy to pull your suitcase. The bed was uncomfortably soft with threadbare linens. The water came out of both taps very, very hot. The airport shuttle was problematic … on arrival, we were standing right there trying to get the drivers attention to let us on and he just took off. On departure, we had reserved for 5:30 AM and again, as we exited the hotel, he took off in an empty vehicle. We had to wait for him to return, and then wait some more as he waited and then circled the lot looking for someone parking their car.
I made reservation on BW app, no issues checking in or checking out. I was charged what I expected. The room and hotel were clean. I called and asked for another towel. They had it to my room in 5-10 minutes. We asked for downstairs, but there weren't any available, so they gave us one close to the elevator. We did not hear people using it in our room. The bed was comfortable for a hotel bed. They were also putting in new beds into some of the rooms. We stayed 5 days. They do not clean the room unless you ask. I prefer them not to come in our room due to electronics that are in the room. We would stay there again when/if we go back to Reno. The only negative for us is there was only 1 chair and there was room to put another. I had to sit on bed while spouse used the desk.
Booked two rooms for my family trip to Disney World. One room had a little funk smell but still ssalable. Bummed that bar and restaurant was closed on Sunday. Place is so close to airport you can walk to airport if you want.
Only 2 people in front of me at check win but waited 10 mins with 2 staff at the desk. Pet room over powered with smoke smell. We could not move as all other pet rooms taken per the front desk. AC was set at 78 when we got on room at 7pm and never cooled down til 3am. Had to go to store to get 2 cans of lysol in order to try to cover odor to get some sleep. If we didnt have dogs with us we would have left for sure.
Drink machines on floors were empty. TV remote & phone didn't work. Repairman came up & got TV to a major channel but I couldn't change the channel. Did not get wake up call. Drink machine in lobby was empty.
I reserved a non-smoking room; it reeked of smoke and they would not change. I also had to wait for my room although many were available; they jumped people without a reservation over me. Clearly this was because I was stuck with my reservation (beyond cancellation time) and they wanted new bodies.
Flying out at 5:40 AM out of Reno, it was just so convenient to walk out of the hotel, cross the street, and stay on the sidewalk for 2 minutes to get to the airport. This will be my go to hotel before or after a flight. The building is old, but the upkeep is good, and everything is very clean. The walls are a little thin, maybe because there was a connecting door to the adjacent room; they stayed up and talked till 11:00 pm, but it didn't bother us too much. Ten pm should start quiet hours, though! Maybe this is something the staff can post signs on those doors about.
Very nice staff, reliable service, clean and very large room, extremely comfortable beds, quiet despite being across the street from airport. Restaurant not open but full availability of sandwiches, salads and drinks.
All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were quick to right any issue I had during my stay, which wasn't many. The hotel offered a beautiful courtyard and lobby. I will definitely stay again next time I'm in town.
The property it's self it quite nice. I would consider staying there again as it is one of the few pet friendly properties in the area. Now for the HOWEVER. We tried many, did I say MANY times to reach the property by phone prior to our arrival to confirm the reservation and several other items. We were NEVER able to reach anyone. ANYONE. Once their phone system answers a call any choice you make, front desk, housekeeping, reservations, etc rings and rings. NO ONE ANSWERED ANY OF THE CHOICES. EVEN AFTER WAITING 15 MINUTES ON HOLD. We liked the property but customer service is horrible.
The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was excellent and the price was reasonable. The outdoor pool looks very nice, even though I didn't use it. I will happily return to this hotel if in the area.
Due to leave from Reno airport about 5 a.m. was not something I was looking forward too as someone would have to drive us 50+ miles early that morning. Staying almost across the street and having the shuttle drive us there was so much easier. We were able to arrive fresh and on time. Will definitely do this again for early flights. Staff was friendly, too.
We checked in and the staff was very friendly (other than location that was the ONLY good thing about this hotel). We were given key cards and told we could park on the side and there was a door to use there. We tried to use the key cards and the doors wouldn't open. I went back to the front desk and asked for new keys, which I was given. Went back to the door and tried again. Still would not open. Went back to the front they said they should and I should use them slowly. I asked them to come out and show me how since apparently I'm an idiot?! Not one of the 4 keys worked. I was told many people had complained but the managers response was that it was the user error and we weren't using them correctly. Um, ya! Finally got to our room. The beds were horrible, very hard! I went to use the restroom. The shower mat in the tub looked extremely old and discolored and there was a nasty 'hair' on the floor. We couldn't get the AC to work and tried calling the front desk multiple times. Was told to turn on a switch (which we couldn't find-ended up being hidden behind a chair). This still did not work. Was told someone would be up in 10-15 min to help. 40 min later called back and requested help again. Maintenance was sent up. AC was broken...he proceeded into the room with a huge 'new' unit and was going to replace it while we were sitting there?!?! We left, cancelled the reservation and stayed elsewhere. Worst hotel experience I've had in a very long time. Extremely disappointed!!!
I've have stayed here before and was very satisfied. the location is excellent. the front desk was very helpful. This time, the air conditioner did not work well and the bed mattress and springs need to be replaced.
We thought it was a nice 3 star hotel very convenient to airport with free shuttles to take you or pick you up. We had a minifridge and microwave and king size bed. I litteraly walked to the airport terminal from my room.
I have stayed at this Best Western many times while visiting my son. Although. I came by myself this time, they are very helpful when my husband and dog are along. The room is comfortable and clean. The restaurant had tasty choices and was reasonable in price. It is also very close to the airport.
Air conditioning unit duct taped tomorrow but even that was not holding. Override switch on far wall. Difficult to find the way an instruction note was written. Front desk not really interested in doing anything to help turn the unit on.
fix your key card issue, It shows great disrespect to your customers making us get our room cards fixed daily, and I see sometimes 2 others there for the same thing. and asking they were by my phone shows even more disrespect. I see plenty of people there for the same thing.
Years ago Best Western had a real problem differentiating the "experience" to be found at Best Western hotels which are basically individuals licensed to use the name, but there was NO consistency in the experience, so they came out with new branding where "Best Western" was the run of the mill BW's and Best Western PLUS was a cut above the rest. So when I saw and booked a stay at a Best Western SureStay PLUS in Reno, Nevada, I thought I was getting the better half of Best Western. Apparently SureStay by Best Western is at the opposite end of the spectrum, representing old rehabilitated hotels where there is no expectation of equivalency to a Best Western PLUS. Apparently SureStay is a western coast thing, as in over 30 years of business travel, I never heard of them. But know that SureStay Plus by Best Western is not in any way close to a Best Western PLUS property. I learned the hard way. • On checking in, they whacked me $50 for "incidentals" and in all these years of traveling, I've only seen people who look like vagrants trying to pay cash with no credit, get whacked for "incidentals." Apparently they thought this business person might steal their towels. • The room had a horrible smell of old urine, smelled like a nursing home, • On the table was a wet blue towel rag. Since the 2 towels in the room were white, someone left this wet rag on the table. • I tried to call the front desk about it, but the phone in the room was dead, apparently they didn't pay the phone bill. Checked connectors, still nothing. • So went to the front desk and asked if they had a better room, so they said they would give me another room. I asked if this was a "better room" or just "another room" and they said it was just another, different floor, different wing, a pain to pack up things and move, not knowing if it was any better. So I gave up. • Went back to room and peeled back the covers to look for the urine smell and the mattress was so worn, it looked like Mrs. Bates' mattress in Psycho, human depressions, must have been 20 years old. Ugh. See pictures. So I slept on top of the bedspread not wanting to find the source of the urine smell. • The two bath towels in the bathroom must have been 20 years old, threadbare, small and needed some fabric softener, horrible tiny towels. • At about 1:30 am the smoke detector blasts me out of bed for no reason. I can't call the front desk because the phone is dead so have to get dressed again and go to the front desk. They say they will send a maintenance guy down but not committing to when he will show, like I want to sit up for a few hours waiting for a knock on the door. When I said He should be there in 5 minutes or I'll find a hammer and fix it myself, someone shows up, takes the smoke detector down and says he will work on it. Told him to keep it until morning, I'm exhausted and want to try and sleep in this urine smelling room. Sadly, this is one place to avoid. I spoke with the GM once I got back and heard a litany of reasons that they are short handed, can't get people back to work, etc., etc. Seems like they want to make their problems- my problems. Their problems should be transparent to the guest. Sadly from check in through the stay, they are un-welcoming, and don't seem to care about the quality of the experience. I can't want them to be a better hotel than they want for themselves, but no one there really seems to care. They eventually did issue a 50% credit, (but charged me 100% at check-out) but the entire bad experience should have been comped. I probably would have given them a pass and not written a review, but 50% doesn't make up for the horrible experience on many levels. If I save one person from the same experience, this will have been useful to other travelers. Again, be advised that SureStay Plus by Best Western is NOT THE SAME as a Best Western PLUS. NO way, not even close. This ranks up there with some of the worst hotels I've ever gotten stuck at.
In need of a hotel near the airport, I spent a night at the SureStay Plus Hotel and left satisfied. Read on for details. Located within easy walking distance of the airport, it would be difficult to get closer. In spite of the proximity, my room was quiet through the night The room itself is dated but clean. Offsetting the dated nature of the furniture and carpet were a series of USB outlets on one side of the bed and an acceptably sized flat screen TV. The bed was reasonably firm while the pillows were softer than I prefer. There was a nicely sized refrigerator, small microwave and single-serve coffee maker. The hotel WiFi was solid The desk space is good but a USB port here would be nice. Compared to where I stayed on my two recent previous overnight stays in Reno (Grand Resort and Casino), this room was less modern but better equpped, much more quiet and comfortable.) I frequently spend nights in Reno before an early fly out; I'll be back here.
it was spot on. I needed a place to stay where I was close to the airport. My husband arranged the hotel for me. I had airport parking available at a real good price. And had a shuttle drop me off right at the Alaska Air front door. I will be coming back
Room was mostly clean the shower area seemed fairly old and in need of some cleaning but otherwise a decent hotel for the one night we stayed. We were traveling through the area and needed a place to stay for one night.
The rooms for the facility have not been updated in at least 30 years - the fireplace did not work - the tv was too small for the room and too far away from the bed for the remote to work. Facility is extremely understaffed at the front desk and the restaurant (breakfast only). The restaurant is not open for lunch or dinner although they advertise differently. This location DOES NOT qualify to be a Best Western - the room should have been $69.00 a night, NOT $141.00 - SUCH A HUGE DISAPOINTMENT FOR BEST WESTERN
Its a room, nothing much more than that, overpriced by at least $10-$15 per night. Front/Inside hotel looks great but that's where it all stops. My room came with a mini frig and a microwave, desk/chair, and a setting chair that was not at all comfortable. Staff was pleasant enough. Did not offer discount for second or third night stays. Mgr was unable to work the computer check in system (she was transferred here)
Room pictures are of another property. When called about the difference in what I booked and received management contradicted each other and blamed the booking site. While clean and close to airport NOT as advertised.
We were on a getaway from just everyday life and we stayed at the SureStay due to its proximity from the airport! Everything was nice from the room to the price! The room which I didn't know until I got there was the Presidential Suite and once inside we were pleasantly surprised to see a fireplace which we used and a dining area along with a microwave, coffee maker, sink, and even a toaster over! Large vanity area with his and hers closets! Only thing was that due to the pandemic you have to ask to have your room cleaned which is no negative mark on the hotel. But our stay was what we expected and more!
After a long day being exhausted at the airport and waiting four hours for a delayed flight that eventually was cancelled, my family and I had no choice but to spend the night here until we could get a flight in the morning. While it got us by for the night, it was not a pleasant place to be after being tired and upset at the airport all day. I had hope when we walked in and the lobby looked nice and maybe newly renovated. But that's about where it ended. The hallway and rooms smelled old and dingy. Rooms are in desperate need of renovation. Pillows were lumpy and all balled up inside. After seeing there was dried toothpaste from a previous guest on the bathroom counter (pictured), I was immediately pretty skeptical. I would've hoped for better sanitization measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was also a strange black stain on the carpet that freaked me out (pictured). I was hoping to at least feel a little better after showering, but that also wasn't a pleasant experience. The shower water in the tub didn't drain very fast and quickly started rising. The worst part was throughout my shower, the water temperature would randomly change to cold, then scalding hot. One of the times it quickly went to scalding hot I was rinsing my face, so I was not happy about that at all. There is also very little selection from the restaurant there. My dad came back to the room and gave me chips for dinner. The only reason I'm not giving this place one star is because the staff was very helpful and kind, and they were doing their best with such short notice that all these people from the airport would be coming to stay the night with our flight being cancelled.
While this is obviously an older facility, it is well cared for, clean and convenient to airport and car rental return. My sister and I stayed only one night (to be close to airport for early flight) and were extremely pleased to get an early checkin. As it turns out, two other sisters and a sister in law, had flight cancellations and were able to get a room down the hall on short notice. While fresh morning coffee would have been great, it is understandable that it was not available at 4 am. There is coffee in the room but only one cup and one packet. The shuttle driver was great. Very pleased with our stay.
The hotel is easy to check in. the rates are reasonable, there was a $20 pet fee per pet/per night. The room, while starting to look dated, was clean and all the appliances worked fine. There is a nice grassy area for the doggies on the premises. It's quiet at night. Good Value.
Great location (across from the airport) and close to restaurants, shopping and casinos. Hotel is clean and free parking. Easy to access other parts of the city. Restaurant is currently only serving breakfast and lunch.
This was once a very nice property with a pretty courtyard in the center of the complex. All interior entrances. Worst part of our one night stay was that we were put on the first floor next to the freeway. Heard traffic all night and heard footsteps all night long from the room above. Air conditioner was a continuous white noise but still too loud. Close to shopping and too close to the freeway.
Don't believe the high marks this hotel gets. It's very old (decor, furniture, beds, bedding, everything) and in dire need of a remodel. At the very least a thorough steam clean of carpets/floors. The hallway is dark and dingy and the carpets smell. It's difficult to get a good night's sleep in this type of environment.
Admittedly, when I first drove in was hesitant to go in and ask about a room as outside building could use an upgrade. Property inside is clean and well maintained. Even though property is right by airport, did not hear planes at all and there was a shuttle if needed. There is a very nice courtyard area that looked like it would be relaxing to sit outside in. Pool area looked nice. Property has an elevator. Coupon was given for 15% off on breakfast at restaurant inside hotel (not open for dinner). Was surprised only 2 small pillows on a king bed but guess it makes things easier. If you like to have extra blankets at night request when checking in as bedding is lightweight. COVID protocol seemed to be followed.
Beautiful, green shaded peaceful inner courtyard with pool & mature trees. Very convenient for highway access, & room was quieter than we expected. Room smelled fresh & was not doused with air freshenera. Windows could be opened in our room. Ours looked out into the trees where a mom & pop falcon ( I kid thee not) were raising a young'en. What a treat. Will definitely stay here again.
Convenient location, clean and pet friendly. Dogs more than welcome as they supply a dog bed and treats. Room basic, tho clean and tidy. Should ask for extra pillows (2 provided on a King bed). We didn't... Our fault and affected our sleep. Very nice ambiance overall.
One of the most marvelous places to visit in Northern California is Lake Tahoe/Reno. Thanks to BestWestern, our family trip was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to love nature.
We were pleasantly surprised at not hearing any airplanes. It was quiet & appeared clean. Disappointed in the restaurant inside hotel, being that they closed before we got there & didn't open until after we needed to be at the airport in the morning. We had to scramble to find our meals, since we had planned on eating there. For our king sized bed, there were only 2 small pillows. VERY long hallways to walk to get to our room. That's not anything to ruin my review, just be prepared for a trek! It was very convenient to return our rental car & catch our flight.
We stayed here at the beginning of our trip and the end. The first night was ok We had the presidential suite Beautiful room. Still trying to figure out why you charge $150 incidental fee for a non fancy hotel. The 2nd stay was a little rough. 1/2 the lights in the room did not work and the outside door by our room was no working Heard people in the next room the whole night Cant rate any of the amenities as it was just a place to crash for travel You are right there at the airport Would stay here again Will be more prepared for the incidentals
I was traveling for knee replacement surgery with my husband and our two goldens. Very clean and enjoyable.....except surgery. The room phone didn't work but everything else was so nice. Glad we found this hotel.
I was charged $237.43 for my $87.43 confirmed stay at this WORST WESTERN!! The young man at the front desk said the "deposit was JUST IN CASE YOU BREAK ANYTHING in the room during your stay." That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! The staff at the hotel have to endure endless anger and ridicule from patrons of the hotel, because of this practice. SHAME ON YOU BEST WESTERN!! I have been a loyal Best Western customer for over 20 years and have NEVER had this sort of thing happen. I still have not been refunded the "deposit" to my credit card. OH, and to make things worse, there was literally a sign on the AC saying, "Please do not put A/C under 70 Degrees, it will freeze unit below 70 degrees." (the room felt like 80 degrees and we had to bring in a FAN!!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE WORST WESTERN!!!!
I chose this hotel because of it's location to the airport, my flight arrived in the evening and I didn't need to pick up my rental car till the next morning from the airport so I didn't wanna be too far away. I was able to walk from the airport to the hotel literally across the street, in the morning they shuttled me back to the airport to pick up my rental car. Great experience big rooms nice décor very pleasantly surprised for a price you can't beat!
We stayed there for one night. It is located near the airport. The hotel is a little dated but has been maintained well. This hotel is pet friendly for a small additional fee. The room was nice but the beds were very hard. Also the water in the shower went hot and cold when other rooms were showering at the same time. They have a beautiful courtyard that is well shaded. They have benches and chairs to sit and relax. This is a nice place to stay when in Reno.
This review is regarding my experience at this hotel on 05/31/2020 that was booked through Hotels.com. My husband and I had arrived to the hotel around 3:20pm to check in after traveling over 8 hours from our home on the Oregon coast. When I was called up to the front to be helped, I told the lady my name, (dark brown hair, possibly the manager) and she could not find me in the system. I let her know that it could possibly be under my husbands name as well and she was not able to find that either. She asked me if I had a confirmation number and I let her know it was on my phone in the car and I would run out to grab it and I would be right back. About 30 seconds later, I walked back in with my phone. I went up to the check in desk to witness the lady with the brown hair and another employee with blonde hair (she looked like she was clocking out) going through photos on her phone right in front of me talking about another guest who had “let her dog crap in the room” and how “she definitely was not getting her deposit back of $150.00”. While they were talking about this and blatantly ignoring me, I heard the blonde make sounds as if she was vomiting and say “what the hell is wrong with people? That is so gross!”. I was in complete shock from what I was witnessing and could not believe that she violating confidentiality laws and talking badly about other guests in front of customers. When the brunette finally got off her phone, she looked at me and held her hand out without saying anything as if she wanted me to put my phone in her hand. I did so and she started going through the email that i had received though Hotels.com that had the confirmation number. She let me know again that she could not find my info in the system and said it would take her 20 minutes to try and find it. I looked at her and asked if she could please speed up the process because I have a dog in the car who is overheating. The brunette then looked at me and very rudely said “you have a pet? That room that you booked is not a pet friendly room”. She then asked for my number so she could give me a call. Exhausted and frustrated at that point, my husband and I decided to drive to a nearby outlet mall to pass the time by. We did not hear anything back and decided to call Hotels.com and request a refund so we could stay somewhere else. Finally, an hour and a half later, the brunette called to let us know she found our information. She had stopped helping me at 3:31pm and I did not get a call back until 4:57pm. My husband and I were so unhappy and frustrated that we had to go through the process of trying to find another pet friendly hotel and drive an additional 35 minutes to Carson City. I work for a very successful Financial Institution in Oregon and understand the value of good customer service. I am a very understanding person in regards to accidents or errors. Dealing with her was absolutely the most unprofessional, inconvenient and un-accommodating experience I have ever encountered. Not once did I hear her apologize or try to rectify the situation in any way. My husband and I have always enjoyed staying at Best Western locations because they are well known for their high levels of customer service and clean facilities. I do not believe that this is a Best Western issue, but more of a management and employee issue at the location. Unfortunately, it was a bad enough experience that my husband and I may never stay in another Best Western location ever again. **I have emailed photos to customer service showing proof that I did indeed have a room reserved through Hotels.com.**
This hotel has a very large courtyard and pool area very peaceful lots of sitting areas. Nice rooms, staff is cool. Tv service provider sucks. Channels kept going out. Should discount for no breakfast if still being charged for it. But overall great hotel.
Rooms are not cleaned. My dog found a chewed bone left by another pet and was chewing on it. I found additional garbage under the bed. Pet area was full of dog poop. People smoking marijuana. Go elsewhere if you can. I do not recommend this place.
Best Western Reno Airport's manager reached out to me after I had to cancel my upcoming reservation. She graciously honored the cancellation policy during this challenging time of C-19 turmoil. Thank you.
Room was clean. Restaraunt on site, that could stay open an hour or more but overall perfectly fine for the traveler. Staff was extremely nice and professional. I stay here on occasion due to the quality for the price and due to the proximity to the airport (right across the street).
This hotel would not honor it's cancellation policy in a time of hardship due to the C-19 virus. Even though I called to cancel, because the website would not allow me to cancel, they stated I was too late. It was past the cancellation time because I was on hold for almost 45 minutes. Will not stay here again and won't recommend it for my company travel.
It was okay a place to lay your head nothing much else. I wish we had chosen something else. Was poor planning not to have anything even to offer for breakfast. Room was dark and tile slick. Need to have grips on it
The SureStay Plus is a phenomenal hotel to stay at. The price is great, the time are clean and well maintained, and the service staff is polite and attentive. I travel constantly for work and this has been one of my favorite hotels to stay at.
Angelica at the front desk was phenomenal. Her genuine smile and knowledge were greatly appreciated by me as I had worked all day and then had a two-hour drive into Reno's evening rush-hour traffic. My requests were all met.
Very nice room and restaurant. Pleasant staff. Reasonable room Rate. Very close to airport so easy access to catch flights. Looks pretty with outside eating area in nicer weather. Ample parking. Recommend for airport hotel.
Great location next to airport and you can walk from the small Reno airport to the hotel. I would stay here again even though the location is the near freeway but I brought my ear puddy and used them the first night but the second night I didn't use them and I slept fine without my ear plugs so the noise isn't bad. The parking is good with easy access to your room. The restaurant has real good food and serves breakfast, Lunch and dinner never really needed to go anywhere else for food it was so good. Comfortable king size bed, big Tv and refrigerator and coffee maker in my room. Definitely would stay here again
This is my second time here. First time was ok. This time. Room A/C heat did not work. Besides they tell you not to set belowe 70??? WTF. I for one like the room a little cooler then 70. So they gave me another room. A/C -Heat worked ok..but noisy. Then go to take a shower and the water backs up past my ankels..Not good. Call the front desk and the guy shows up to fix the T.V. Nothing wrong with T.V. Ask if he can unclog the tub. Nope he has to submit it to matinenance and they do not show up until Monday. And it's Friday night. So need less to say IT'S CHECKOUT TIME. Went and found another place to stay. Asked company to never book me again here. Oh and the bed killed my back. Beds need to be replaced.
Don't get ripped off by a sleazy casino hotel; this place has it all. Great staff, nice rooms, nice restaurant, and two minutes from the airport. Since it was so close to RNO, I held off on a car rental for one day which saved me money! ...and if you want to gamble at those more expensive hotels, they're all close!
The room is well appointed and spacious for the price. Checkin was very easy. Tried to use the guest laundry which needed quarters. Front desk didn't have any and the wasn't anything nearby where you could get them, so no washing. The bar was busy and understaffed but the server was really good. Drink prices were very reasonable. Went to the restaurant at about 7.00pm and left at 7.20pm when no one came near me and went back to the bar to eat. Overall there are some positives but some of the service needs to improve (full points to the bar staff)
Price alone does not justify staying here. Ever. Have stayed here before and it has gone downhill. Rooms, service, and management need upgraded. Check in was a joke, the front desk person had just disappeared and no one else had a clue what was going on. BW should take the franchise away from the owner.
The hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Rooms are a lot noisier than you would think. Although not much staff can do about that. But overall this is a very nice hotel. I left earlier than the breakfast but got a 15 percent coupon for the restaurant. Hotel was very put together and lots of vending machines.
Older facility. A little tired looking as far as the hallways and rooms. Clean except for the elevators. Slamming doors made sleeping a little difficult but that came from other guests letting the doors slam when entering or exiting their rooms. .
We stayed two nights in Reno. The first night was at a big casino hotel. A lot of things made time spent here uncomfortable but I'm sure if a visitor is interested in gambling with life and fortune then it would be a good fit. Not for me. I was interested in learning about Reno and its people. Reno is the second largest Nevada city and it is in a stunning mountain locale. Helpful Best Western Sure Stay staff allowed me to experience authentic hospitality. The room was fairly new and very comfortable (no vinyl bed covering or smoky smells like first night.) Tired of driving, we enjoyed dinner and discount in the facility diner. We brought our dog and the room was equipped with a new pet bed/treats/poop bag. A comfortable recliner and considerate room lighting made for a great Reno-experience. Reno is truly a fantastic town to visit despite some obvious de/at tractions.
The hotel is just fine. The restaurant does not open early enough for breakfast before a morning flight. The check in person was short to the point of rudeness. There are a lot of doors and elevators which helps because is is a huge building. It isn't the same as I remember. Did they add on a tower?
We decided to use Surestay's airport parking service, since the last time we did it was quite a bit cheaper than using cabs or Ubers from our house. The first time it was $7.88 per day. The shuttle dropped us at the airport, no problem. Coming home, we called for the shuttle only to be told it was in the shop. I had to run across many lanes of traffic in the cold to get the car. This second time, the price was now $9 per day. We got there at about 7:30 am for a 9:05 flight and were told the shuttle only runs from 4-7 am and 4-7 pm. We drove across, dropped our luggage, and I drove back and again walked across the many lanes of traffic to the airport. Coming home, we got our luggage and called for the shuttle at 4:20 pm. Right in their time slot, right? They only come once an hour so we waited 40 minutes. Apparently they tell people who are there outside their shuttle hours to take a cab, which completely defeats the purpose of parking there. Apparently this is a fairly new policy and they have narrowed the hours several times in the past few months.
We had to come to Reno to pick up something that we ordered. We were there just overnight and find this Best Western very convenient because we brought our large dog with us. They even have snacks for her and a nice bed.
Front Desk Employees Sierra and Nick went above and beyond our expectations! The Bar, Restaurant, and Barista Bar was a great addition. The afore mentioned comments, and being right off the freeway, with ease of travelling to casinos and restaurants makes this place the ‘comeback' lodging choice for all of us.
Good hotel, friendly staff.. Just be prepared to pay a $150.00 deposit. The hotel rates were reasonable, but the deposit is outrageous. The rooms were clean, they don't offer a free breakfast, but they have a nice restaurant inside where you can get food.
This is a very nice, non gaming, hotel that is conveniently located near the interstate and airport. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. Overall, our stay was excellent. I'll be staying at this hotel during my next visit to the Reno area.
Room and hotel were clean, staff was polite. Beds are very firm so we had trouble sleeping. We asked if there was mattress topper available since we prefer softer mattress. Unfortunately, they don't offer that option
Very poor public relations and answer to calls for pick up back to hotel parking.. Marjorie is very challenged. Can't seem to be polite on Telephone or one-on-one at desk. Poor, poor, poor, got hung up on several times.
The rooms are nice and clean and everything worked well. Bed is comfortable. However the walls a paper thin, you can hear neighbor room conversations, discussions in the hall, doors slamming, planes taking off and people above you walking. I think amusement parks would be quieter. Nice hotel but if you don't sleep it's not money well spent. Trip next day was dangerous with no sleep. Stay if you have good earplugs!
Whereas we are not using a wheeled chair, we find handicap access rooms to be much more comfortable with bars in the bathroom (very important!) and taller toilets so much better for compromised mobility. Since we are rarely up and presentable in time when breakfast is served, we appreciate the cost savings when it is not included in the cost of the room. It is available at a reasonable cost if you want.
Place is getting a little run down, but was comfortable. We only stayed a few hours before a flight out. It was as clean as it was going to get considering what they had to work with. I will stay again when the need arises.
This hotel is walking distance to the Reno International airport. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the airport and to nearby casinos. There is a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner inside the hotel. It feels very safe and comfortable.
we stayed there one night arriving too late to drive home 35 miles. Free convenient pickup at the airport and you can park your car there overnight after staying for $9 a day if you are traveling our of Reno Airport. The rooms were dated, the carpet had not been cleaned for quite awhile, but the rest of the room was tidy. The hotel surrounds a courtyard and a pool. If you want quiet ask for an interior room. the rooms on the west back up to the freeway and the easy back up to a road and the airport-less noisy, but the interior rooms which face the courtyard and quieter.
I had never been to Nevada before, but needed to go to a funeral. I had concern since I needed to leave on a very early flight and wasn't sure about getting to the airport. SureStay looked good online, so I booked. It was better than could be expected. Location was perfect, staff was welcoming and helpful, the hotel layout was also welcoming, safe, clean and overall great. They almost seemed eager to have the free shuttle head to the airport at 4:00 AM. It was a perfect night and a wonderful sunset was an added bonus.
ARBA convention in Reno was a new experience. It was the first time in ARBA history that it was held here. Sure Stay hotel was convenient to the convention center and was pet friendly. The ACBA picked it for their hotel.
located at the airport. clean rooms and very pleasant front desk. checkin was a breeze very nice restaurant and bar on the property. There is a great breakfast with a lot choices for hot and cold items.
After being on hold for 10 minutes, being told I'm the next in line, the phone starts ringing and ringing and ringing, then bumps me back to second in line. My son was finally able to get a hold of someone to send the shuttle. That was 10 minutes ago. Still no shuttle. They are literally across the street from the hotel and this shuttle does is take people to and from the hotel to the airport. They used to be more reliable and timely. Do yourself a favor and park for FREE at the Grand Sierra and take their shuttle. Last time I park and/or stay there. 30 min later (counting phone waiting time too) still no shuttle. Paid a taxi to takes us the 5 minutes across the street. They may be close but definitely not convenient! Worst service ever!!!
Big open lobby with lots of social areas and seating. Nice courtyard. Near airport but sound was not an issue. Really good customer service. Rooms are a bit dated but not too much so. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Exceeded my expectations.
We arrived later in the evening. Guy at the desk was very nice and informative. Hotel room was large. Bed was comfortable. Pretty quiet for being right next to the airport. They give 15% off coupons for the restaurant in the building. Room could have been repainted, there were several spots where it had been patched.
This is the only non-smoking hotel/motel I found in Reno/Sparks that provides a free airport shuttle 24-hours/day. Good (average) prices. Comfy rooms and beds. Usually clean. Fair service. Restaurant choices are lacking.
Needed an overnight stay in Reno and didn't want to stay at a hotel/casino since they stink of smoke and i don't gamble. This location was a great location to the freeway and restaurants. Room was clean and staff very nice. Will stay again when going through town
picked up bags and called the hotel to pick us up was told he would be there in 10 minutes over the next 45 minutes made several more phone calls "he is on his way" never showed up finally we pulled over another shuttle from another hotel ( best western in sparks) he took pity on us and took us to our car. gave him a very nice tip will never stay at the best western sure stay again our frequent business now goes to the best western in sparks
I lucked out when a hotel across the road was full and their clerk directed me over to this property. I was very pleased. It's the first place in 2 weeks that had the restaurant and lounge onsite and this just happened to be a night that I was looking forward to having a couple of cocktails before bed so it was a one stop shop for me. I wish I could have found similar properties over the last 2 weeks. The lobby was very welcoming, the grounds were lovely with a courtyard to sit and relax in. The front desk clerk was great. The price was awesome. I just happened to be passing through Reno for the one night and I did not want to stay n a Casino so I feel very fortunate to have found this place. Like I said, I wish I could've found something like this in other cities I've been staying in during my 2 week vacation up and down the west coast. If I had to say anything negative I would suggest upgrading the beds, but they weren't by any means bad, I just prefer a different quality. No free breakfast but they gave us a 15% coupon and the AWESOME ROOM RATE more than made up for a free breakfast. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Best Western in particular
Rude staff terrible if traveling with a pet. Pet friendly rooms have sliding glass doors but no screen door. If you want fresh air your dog is not safely contained in the room. Front desk staff not helpful. A/C in room can not be turned below 70.
Hotel was quiet (though this might not apply if in a room facing the freeway) and staff friendly. The only drawback is that I missed the usual free breakfast. Also, it was a bit longer walk to the convention center than I expected. Pedestrians are definitely an afterthought in Reno-be careful if walking, especially at intersections where I was nearly run over by a red light runner! The best route to the Convention Center is via Harvard Street by Costco. There also is frequent bus service.
This Sure Stay Plus is VERY convenient to the Reno Airport. Easy in, easy out. Morning shuttle to the airline check-in counter. Nice clean, modern facility. Friendly staff, convenient restaurant. Would definitely stay here again.
Good value at breakfast. Staff is friendly and great service. Food staff a bit slow due to understaffing, but not staff's fault. Waiters were friendly but moving to serve others. Front desk was very helpful and shuttle service to/from casino was great. Rooms are average and some repairs were needed in our room on noisy fans, but everything functional.
We chose surestay because the price was good for a hotel near the airport. (You can literally walk across the street to the hotel) They have a free shuttle. The courtyard is a beautiful place to relax. The hotel is Clean but dated and the coffee not so good. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is not included but they give you a 15% off coupon for the restaurant in the lobby. If you need a place by the airport this is the hotel for you. The staff we dealt with were all friendly and helpful.
90+ degrees over Labor Day weekend and they closed their pool! Checked with surrounding hotels - pools open. Manager very unprofessional. Took out indoor hot tub and moved gym into area. Where gym was put a laundry room. Coffee cart broken.
First time staying at Sure Stay. I made my reservation though internet. First the site said free breakfast but at the front desk they said we do not recognize what is said through the internet site. Our room was on the ground floor. We could here every foot step above us. My side of the mattress felt like it had a hole to sleep in. The waitress at the restaurant was no where to be found for refills and to get our check. When we saw a employee he went and found her. When she came she was rude did not smile or apologize. We do not plan to stay there again.
Rooms clean, bathtub and shower were good condition, had mini fridge and microwave in room, everything worked great! Quiet room and we stayed on Friday night! Loved the cocktail bar but they close early for a Friday night. Would be great idea if management had later weekend hours for bar. They had shut down pool during burning man as a precaution of overload of dust in pool gilter. This shows responsibility and that they care about their facilities. Great friendly helpful staff! Impressed.
Location is walking distance from Reno International Airport (RNO), there is also a shuttle Service to and from the airport . The in house Bar and Resturaunt is a good place to relax and is just a few steps from your room also a pool and a Courtyard to enjoy the peaceful outdoors. And best of all the prices are very reasonable.. My kind of place. .
First time staying at this hotel. The staff was welcoming and nice. The food in the adjacent restaurant was really good. After a long day, it was nice to relax. The outside area was quiet and well lite. I didn't every hear any planes or noise from my room. I would stay here again.
I have stayed in this hotel in the past when it was a regular Best Western property, and now the first time as a "Sure Stay". It seems to have gone downhill, especially the rooms. Everything looks like it was frozen in the '70s. In need of serious renovations. Bright spots: 1) across from airport, and free shuttle, 2) on-site lounge bartender was awesome, 3) the few video poker games in the lounge were good to me.
Stayed here for one night in July after a midnight flight from LAX to Reno. The hotel is located across the road from the airport and they provided a complimentary shuttle even in the dead of the night at 1am. The room was big with a strong cold aircon, warm blankets, a functional tv and hot shower - for a one night stay of less than 12 hours, this was excellent. Our room had a microwave, coffee pot and a fridge. The odd part was that the wash basin was outside in the room and not in the bath.
The hotel is nicely appointed, clean and well-maintained. We NEVER heard any airport noises even though the hotel is right nexgt to the airport. My only concern is there is no room service, the restaurant is understaffed, and there is no breakfast buffet as in other Best Westerns. Looking forward to staying there again.
Great price and place Big change over the last month...much quicker front desk Very helpful workers Great location and nice to have large outdoor swimming pool Definitely will stay there another time!
We have stayed in this hotel numerous times over about the years. In the last few years, they have had some very good deals which tempted us into booking here again. However, it has steadily gone downhill. Last night, our king bed was on a high platform and together with the mattress was about 3 ft tall. That would have been okay but the mattress was like a rock (I'm usually okay with a firm mattress). The pillows were huge, puffy and also hard and stuffed in those tiny cases which makes them worse. Very uncomfortable. I thought about packing up and moving to another hotel. Then after a long travel day and getting in late, I woke up early with a very sore back (also unusual for me, I'm a reasonably good sleeper without back problems). It is quiet and convenient to the airport but isn't a comfortable bed where you can get a good night's sleep without a sore body the most important thing in a hotel? I think I'll pay more to get that at another hotel next time.
If you stay here, you might be on your own! The phone doesn't work to the rooms! The alarm clock doesn't work! There's was no internet ! Service to the airport was terrific! They deliver and pick up! The end
Due to a lot of travel delays between myself and my partner, we ended up booking one night here, since we weren't sure one of us was going to make it as we were coming in on separate flights from separate business trips late on a Friday night to spend the weekend in Truckee. I was nervous as I only did about 5 minutes research, but needed to make sure we weren't stuck, since I didn't have keys to the car that was parked at the airport waiting for us, and I had my dog with me, and I might end up there alone. I called the shuttle upon arrival and it was there within 4 minutes, a very nice driver picked me up and took me to the hotel with another guest. Checking in was very nice. The gentleman kind and gave me an upgraded room due to my dog, and was even concerned about safety, not stating my room number out loud in front of other guests when I asked. The hotel is big and shaped like the state of Nevada....so, as I took the Long walk to the room, I did notice that I was in the dog wing on the first floor and I could hear a bit of yapping and normal dog noises, I didn't mind at all. The hallway smelled a bit pooch-y, but they told me they are soon adding hard surface flooring to help with that issue. My room was huge, clean and perfect for one night. I even had a sliding glass door to let my dog go potty before we went to sleep. Mind you, this was gravel in a parking lot, so leash required! My partner did arrive late late that night, and the front desk handled it perfectly as they had his name and information to give him a key to the room. In the morning we got up, showered and headed to Truckee. My only complaint would be their TINY towels. These towels were so small we laughed when we were drying off. They were somewhere between a hand towel and a bath towel. If you need to be a stones throw from the Reno Airport, stay here. But it is bare bones, but clean. Don't expect more than a clean, safe stay and you'll be fine!
Hotel was very convenient to the Reno airport..Rooms were comfortable and very large. There is a restaurant and bar located in the hotel. The hotel has a free shuttle to and from the Reno airport which runs 24hours .
We were getting pretty tired of trying to find nice accommodations at what we thought a reasonable price. We have usually stayed at Motel 6 motels, because of price more than anything. Our recent stay at one though was not great. The reviews I read for the ones in Reno left something to be desired. We checked the SureStay Plus Hotel out and read the reviews and decided it sounded pretty nice. We were not disappointed. The staff was professional and pretty friendly. The room was so nice, however because we booked with a third party service they messed up on our accommodations and booked a pet friendly room, when we booked a room for two with a king bed, and what we got was a room with two queen beds. That's not the room's fault of course, because the room was lovely and clean. The bedding was great with soft sheets. The bath and separate vanity area were clean and spacious, the vanity being appointed with a hair dryer I really loved the firm bolster pillows that provided extra comfort for watching tv. The tv volume was pretty low though and we couldn't find where we could turn close captioning on, which would have made our tv viewing experience a lot nicer. We did bring our tablets and the room is very conveniently fitted with USB port connections on a base on the night table in between the beds, to charge tablets and/or phones.
Clean, friendly staff, nice courtyard and pool area. Quick, efficient free airport shuttle service. Onsite restaurant was good. Would stay here again. Rooms are a bit dated, but they were clean and beds were comfortable.
The rooms are always clean and comfortable!!!! (and in working order!!!) I appreciate not having to walk through a big casino to get to my room, and being able to park in a close proximity to my room! The staff are always friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient and easy to get to. Easy to get back to freeway, etc. and the hotel is QUIET!!!! Have not had an issue with traffic noise, or guest noise!
This is a surprising little oasis by the airport. Very dog friendly. No continental breakfast, unfortunately, but a nice restaurant on site. Dog friendly room had a dog bed & blanket which my little guy appreciated. There was no outside phone service, which was annoying. The Wi-Fi was very spotty. The carpeting in the room was awful, but otherwise the room was great, clean and comfortable. The grounds are lovely, as good as many resorts. No airport noise. All in all, recommended for humans and highly recommended for humans with dogs.
Directly across street from airport. Clean, pleasant staff, nice pool area, outside courtyard very nice. Great for family. Close to restaurants and stores. Restaurant on site. Never heard a plane. Bed very comfortable.
They charge you $20 dollars extra to have your dog then put you in a room backed up to the freeway. The back door has a flimsy rod in it, and the door doesn't shut right so you are sure to hear the roar of the traffic. Dogs are not allowed in the atrium which is the only nice area in the place. No complimentary coffee except the two week packs in your room, but you can buy a cup for 2 dollars.
It is very hard to believe that this was an airport hotel. In the 3 night we stayed, I never heard an airplane. Very nice room, plenty of parking and a friendly, efficient staff made this stay awesome.
We planned a family reunion here because it was close to the airport. That was the only plus of this hotel. Walls are so thin you can hear everything, the restuarant was so badly understaffed ot took over an hour to receive our food and out bathroom was falling apart
Elderly, but given room farthest from elevator, no luggage carrier, so left luggage in rent a car. Breakfast microwaved and as hard as a rock, biscuits would have broken teeth. Had credit card but took $50 immediately and did not return for 5 days. Horrible hotel and worse staff.
No in room phone, air would not stay on, smelled like smoke, sketchy area across from airport, wifi not secure...not going back. Nothing like typical Best Western hotels we have stayed at in the past.
On the spur of the moment we needed a room with easy airport access. After my wife looked around she decided upon SureStay. I was quite pleasantly surprised. Recent room updates and an abundance of amenities led to a very relaxing stay. We'll be back.
Close to airport & great, easy parking. Good food but service in restaurant very slow. Nice laundry facilities but no one to service them; no soap. Nice, clean rooms but very noisy air conditioning fan going night & day.
Found the hotel with very easy access off of I-580. Staff was very professional and courteous. Parking is an issue if there's an event going on. Had issues with water pressure on the 2nd of 3 floors and for the shower to maintain a constant temp, either cold or too hot! No free breakfast, even for rewards members, just a 15% discount.
This hotel was clean and very quiet. Its location adjacent to the airport was perfect for our late arrival into Reno. The shuttle service allowed us to return to the airport the next morning, pick up a rental car, and start our vacation.
I was going to a day event the next day in Squaw Valley bur arriving late and wanted to sleep near the airport. This was the mostest bestest solution. Perfect to walk to the car rental desk the next morning. Amazingly quiet too, despite being like a quarter mile to the runway.
We had an excellent one night stay. The convenience to the airport was the reason we choose this hotel. It was literally across the street and we walked back to the airport the next morning to pick up a rental car. The hotel was quiet and we never heard airport noise in our room. As many have written in reviews the hotel is a bit dated, but we found that to be part of its charm. Everything is kept up very well and worked fine, the room was comfortable and the staff was super! The courtyard and pool area was cool, quiet and very relaxing, great to have such a lovely outdoor space for relaxing. The restaurant was very convenient and had a standard American menu. I have several dietary restrictions which made the menu not work well for me, but the staff was super and made changes for me, much appreciated! I would definitely return to this hotel again if travel brings me back to Reno.
Poor service in response to a basic maintenance call. I had to change rooms which was inconvenient since we had already settled in, but these things happen. It was the response of the front desk people that was really unhelpful. I was told there was no one in maintenance available, then the next day "oh there was someone there. They should have helped you." Then it was "Sure we'll send you a receipt right now." which I still have never received and I never heard from the manager despite leaving messages. My favorite, was when the red-haired desk person loudly clacked her nails on the desk and yelled across the lobby at my daughter "The pool's open now!" I guess mistaking us and our issue with someone who was concerned about the pool. And who wanted a town crier approach to information. The manager wasn't there the three times I asked for her. Matt, who drove us to the airport, was very pleasant. Isabel at the restaurant was also very professional. It is convenient to the airport. It is noisy and busy so if you want a truly quiet night's rest, you'd need earplugs. The red-haired front desk person was terrible and the rest of the front desk team were unhelpful at resolving issues. We liked our time in Reno, but we will steer clear of SureStay next time.
Enjoyed my stay at SureStay. Comfortable bed and room. Helpful staff. I liked the location and the fact that there were no resort fees nor smoky casinos to walk through. The price was right. only drawback is that pool was not open and I never found a workout room. lots of plugs for iphones, computers, etc. right by bed.
Very nice room with interior access. Our only disappointment was that the pool was closed. We were really looking forward to using it in the heat. The grounds are nice and some tables with seating in the pool area. There is a large inside area with seating near the restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a lovely room in an attractive property for a reasonable cost. It will be my new go-to when staying in Reno.
Comfortable room, good mattress. Everything clean and in good working order - the in-room fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Convenient location with ample parking. Excellent breakfast at the hotel's Plaza Court restaurant.
My room was spotless & pleasant. The lobby & halls were less nice (as was the less updated room I'd stayed in in last October), but this room was freshly updated & perfect. Shuttle service was prompt, long term parking a bonus!
Great location literally across the street from Reno International Airport. Great value for price. Super quiet! Room was clean, and lobby was really pretty. There is a restaurant in the hotel we ate breakfast at that is pretty good. Check in/check out staff were very pleasant.
We We're only here for 8hrs but we were shocked at how nice this best western is. The lobby was my first impression that this was a nice place. Hotel.com showed that this place was very highly rated. The room was comfortable and clean. The entire time here was very top class. For the price this place is very nice.
This dog friendly hotel is an excellent place to stay. The food is good, rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is knowledgable and friendly. They supply a doggie bed and treats. The pet friendly rooms have a door directly to the outside. Price is very reasonable. We are repeat customers.
We were very pleased with service and quality of room. This SureStay is directly across from the airport and was very convenient since we had a early morning flight. Would definitely stay here again if in this area.
Close to the airport the shuttle takes just a few minutes and is on call whenever you need it. Didn't use any of the amenities like the pool or gym. It does have a full bar and restaurant. Also a pet friendly hotel with a small dog bed and blanket and a few treats.
My family and I stayed at SureStay Plus during the Memorial Weekend Jam On It Basketball Tournament. We have been to Reno for the past 7 years and this years experience was the best. Over the years we have stayed at Atlantis, Marriott & GSR, but SureStay was by far the most comfortable and friendly. The lobby area is great for spending time with family, the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was always helpful and most importantly the location is great near the airport and the freeway. If you are planning your next trip to Reno and hate the smoke of other hotels and love saving money, you need to stay at SureStay. Thank you for a great experience for our family. -Mamo Rafiq (Yuba City, CA)
Mix up at check in was handled promptly and professionally, and to my satisfaction. If travelling with pets, call the facility a week or so before check-in to confirm. Room was clean and housekeeping staff does through job with daily make up. Restaurant on property. Easy access to freeway. Always stay there when in town.
Second time staying here. Excellent guest service again. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Nice dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel. Great place to stay if you don't want to deal with the casino crowd, and not too far from city attractions. Highly recommend. Planning to stay here again next year.
Great friendly staff. Rooms clean. Had a great time. Nice location. Highly recommend. We have stayed their many times, always great experience. Room service was fast and convenient. Kids walked around outside area very nice
this hotel we have used in past because of their parking availability for leaving car when we fly. that part of the trip is very organized, always available to take and pick up, and the drivers are very friendly and helpful in handling our luggage. We decided to stay this night for first time because of our very early departure next morning. It is very convenient and a driver is always available. The hotel lobby area is very clean and inviting. Tropical theme. Rooms are very clean and roomy. We will definitely use this hotel in future..
a great place to stay if you're in town for something other than gambling, Quiet and clear. Excellent mattress for a great night's sleep. Convenient to the airport and the freeways. I don't think you could match the value (price vs. quality) any where in the area.
Arrived with a confirmation but the hotel was not aware. I booked using the best western site. Thanks to Aileen and Kathy for their correcting this issue in a prompt and professional manner. The pool was closed which would have been nice to know at booking. The property is very nice, the rooms were adequate and it is really a great place to stay if you want some relaxation without the 24/7 casino feel. I keep coming back and look forward to my next visit when the pool is open.
This hotel deserves 7 or 8 stars not just 5. From the time we checked in to time we left this place was an ideal place to stay. Customer service was top notch when we checked in as the front desk clerk made sure that there was a cart at the back door when pulled our vehicle to parking spot. There were very informative on other issues as well. Room was very comfortable and beds were just right. We had a room on the pool side and was very quite as no road noise was heard. No free breakfast here but restaurant on site with reasonable prices. If ever in the area again would stay here again.
This was the best hotel we stayed in during our 14 day tour of UT, NV and WY. It was ideally situate right next to the airport and was very reasonably priced. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was the best we had during our trip. Beautifully decorated and set out.
I have stayed here several times. I like that they are pet friendly. On this trip I didn't have my dog along but on previous trips they have treated us well. This was a week long visit and the rate was great for the king bed room and housekeeping kept it very nice. I will definitely stay here again!
I had to visit Reno for a sports event, not for entertainment. Since I was traveling with my teenage son, I wasn't looking for the casino experience. Since I don't like to waste money, I wasn't looking for a resort experience (or expense). This hotel was surprisingly good. Dated? Yes. Clean? Yes. The staff was very pleasant, recommending places to eat and giving us discounts for the on-site restaurant. The room was plenty spacious, had a nice size sink and counter and mini-fridge. The elevators were noticeably quick. Really. And even when one wasn't working, it was fixed right away. The only negative things I can say about this hotel was the noise from the air unit and the water. We were on the top floor (the 3rd), but when someone around us somewhere ran the sink or shower, it was a little noisy, especially when that person was up at 2 o'clock in the morning. And this is an older building without central air units which I usually prefer because they are quieter. That being said, for the price and all of the other accommodations here, I would definitely stay here again. As for the on-site restaurant, we had breakfast there one morning. It was a little pricey; I paid about $10 for each of us to have a meal. However, it was a good meal! I'd say on par with any other restaurant breakfast. Finally, this hotel is literally right across the street from the Reno-Tahoe Airport. You can't beat the convenience. And we did not notice airport noise being an issue at all.
SureStay Reno was very nice, close to airport rooms were clean bed was comfortable, much better than the casino hotels downtown. Worth the money, front desk very accommodating, there was a soccer tournament and she put me on the top floor away from the kids
Stayed here for a volleyball tournament last weekend. Hotel was fine. Restaurant was understaffed and the coffee counter in the morning was painfully slow. Even though the weather was beautiful the pool was closed and there were no chaises to even lay outside despite the lack of a pool. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Some updates in areas but in other ways rooms are dated. Close to the airport but not within walking distance to any shopping or restaurants.
Front counter asked us if we wanted to upgrade to the "newly remodeled tower' for only $25 more a night. We said sure. Stains on the carpet, rip in the duvet cover, and a smear on the window indicated that this was just another room. Oh and the bill, it was always more than $25 a night. Not much, but enough to say they got it wrong. When my egg wasn't cooked right, the waiter just walked away. Yes literally. I thought another egg would arrive, but the soupy mess was all I got. Needless to say his tip was minimal as his efforts were. The other restaurants were nice and the facilities were well kept. Easy access to the freeway was a bonus.
Had a nice stay here, friendly staff easy check in and out. Didn't eat at the restaurant. The room was spacious, clean and overlooked the courtyard so it was quiet. Close to everything and great freeway access.
Very dirty property. Poor location near elevated freeway. Filthy doggie area. Bad mattress and filthy carpet in room. No water in pool. Generally poor condition. AC has no thermastat so you are either freezing or burning up.
The hotel is very convenient for those arriving or departing from the airport with a very quick shuttle trip from the hotel to the check-in area. The hotel is reasonably priced, clean, quiet, and friendly staff.
Clean, orderly, quiet hotel with good, safe parking. Nice people, but maybe a little understaffed. Older property undergoing a steady upgrade of rooms and systems. Covers basics well - good bed, shower, on site restaurant for breakfast and dinner. If you're looking for plush towels and mints on your pillowcase maybe note your place. Otherwise, very satisfactory place to stay for a short stay. I'm a regular.
Being Spring Break, prices were way overinflated. With that being said, the area is across from the Airport, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Equipment is worn, so don't expect Carton Ritz quality. What you will get are nice clean sheets and beds, Clean bathrooms, and easy access to freeways. You will definitely get the best value for your dollars and get a great nights rest!!
Practically across the street from the Reno airport, I walked here after returning my rental car. It's a quiet hotel except when there are noisy guests in the hall ways. Free shuttle service to and from the airport only takes 5 minutes. There is a very odd sink in the room that juts out in the pathway to the bathroom (beware at night). Also they need to get better blankets on the bed; it's almost like there is no blanket at all on the bed. There is a spare in the closet area. the room has a fridge, microwave and coffee maker and there is a restaurant on site.
whats up with the pictures? are there televisions? is the pool area nice? this is a list of garbage, but I am confident its probably a nice property. seriously. someone should upgrade this and make it look like a spot where people want to go to.
Came into Reno for some shopping at Costco birthday party weather was great for the birthday party hotel stay was good staff friendly and helpful stayed in dog room it was nice and clean, thank you SureStay
Conveniently located across from the airport, that hotel has a friendly staff. Our room was quiet and clean, BUT it was in need of major bathtub faucet repairno compensation neither apology were offered. This problem, which did not seem unknown to the maintenance staff, was a huge inpediment to our breakfast and travel plans as we were getting ready to catch a flight, and NO compensation neither apology were offered!
We've stayed at this hotel a number of times and it has always been clean and well kept. The price is good compared to other hotels in the area and since it is next to the airport, it's location is perfect. It has a bar and restaurant and the food at the restaurant is way better than most hotels in this price range. It has it all, good clean rooms with good beds, a great location, a good restaurant and is part of the Best Western chain.
Traveling with dog on our way home limited our options to pet friendly accommodations so we chose this location based on this. To our surprise the staff was exceptional and made our stay enjoyable. The hotel was very clean but the room was set aside only for those traveling with pets which was the quality we expected. The restaurant and bar were very good. Would definitely recommend based on perfect location next to the airport and the very accommodating, friendly staff
I could not have breakfast at Surestay in Reno. I waited at least 10 minutes to be seated for breakfast with nobody at the counter. There were people waiting to pay before me. I went to the front desk and asked if anyone was working the breakfast area. The front desk person made a call. I went back to the breakfast counter. About 12 minutes had gone by. People still waiting to pay. Waitress came out telling two tables “I'm the only one here.” I asked if I could sit and she said “no I had to wait 5 minutes to be seated.” People were still waiting to pay. I went back to the front desk to complain. No results. People still waiting to pay. I wouldn't mind the wait. But the attitude of the waitress was disturbing. Not friendly at all. Not understanding. Just a bad attitude. In addition there was no manager on staff to address this issue. I suggest some training and more staff coverage. Adding to my frustration is the fact that when I tried to send this email to the general manage the domain name for surestayrno.com couldn't be found. Rooms were clean and quiet. Internet access was ok. Easy access to the airport.
We could of left , check-in clerk told us the next morning the water would be shut off at 8am. It was late we already waited a bit long to get to check in. Night before we had to fill the bathtub with water and fill the tank by filling a waste bucket with the water.
This hotel was affordable, clean, and provided complimentary dog beds! We really enjoyed our stay here. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is the lack of a continental breakfast. They do have a restaurant though (and the breakfast is relatively cheap)
Even though it is located directly across from the airport, you don't hear the planes at all. They are in the process of remodeling, so some rooms now have new mattresses. Microwave and Refrigerator in the room. Only downside is no breakfast or voucher for their restaurant. Cheaper to go somewhere else for breakfast or buy something at the store you can cook than pay $10 for a voucher. From the menu, voucher wouldn't cover cost of breakfast. I will definitely stay here again.
large quiet comfortable rooms. not much in the way of amenities (the fitness center is in the laundry room!!). but if you basically want a large comfortable quiet room (good beds, quiet and efficient heating-cooling, good sound insulation), you can't do better than this place
Stayed here due to a late flight into Reno, big mistake. Besides the usual cheap hotel things, dirty elevators, shoddy furniture, bad lighting in the rooms, etc. They can't do even the most basic of hotel functions. The shower in my room didn't work so I had to check out after a day of flying and sleeping on their bedding (which if they can't do the basics I can imagine how dirty those sheets truly were) having to wash off the best I could in a sink with a washcloth. Ridiculous. Of course I tried to call down, and the phone didn't work either. Surprise, surprise. Awful experience
We experienced some amazing staff members and some horrible ones. Rooms were clean, lighting was horrible but something in the air there made us sick. Not sure what it was but a few of us were miserable while saying there.
Stayed overnight to catch an early flight out of Reno airport - could not have been more convenient, easy and pleasant. Very quiet except for the 80 MPH howling wind outside but that certainly was not the hotel's fault - LOL!
Front desk manager got rude with me over her employees doing the paperwork incorrectly. I stayed here 20 days between 1/7/19 to 3/1/19 had several Reservations and extended reservations with no problem and done it the exact same way every time. This last time it took me 2.5 hours to extend a reservation. I reported her to Best Western, she calls my room to apologize and tells me she wasn't rude that I took it the wrong way because I was tired...... This is why I will not be extending my stay here.
Immaculate room with a nice setup for computer, fast internet. The restaurant features an incredible chef -- best clam chowder I've had in months, chewy chunks of clams and just the right amount of bacon. Exquisite entrees - beautiful presentation and delicious, fresh fish!
We usually startat a pricey casino, but why bother? This hotel is just as good! Perfect location. You're a 5 minute car (or uber) ride to any casino or UNR. Plus the whole atmosphere of this hotel is so inviting.
Stayed here 2 nights over a football weekend in October. If you're looking for something over the top & closer to the main attractions in Reno, this isn't the place. If you are looking for a place to rest your head for 8 or so hours, this place will do just fine. Staff was friendly & the location was convenient... for someone not looking to go to downtown Reno.
There was an extremely cold draft coming in around the window. I had to turn the heat up higher than normal and put the spare blanket on my bed to be comfortable. The room/hotel info binder lists room service, but when you call they tell you they don't offer that. The girl that checked me in was awesome. The girl that checked me out was adequate. The mattress was nice and firm. Te decor was fine considering I was in a pet room. They had a cute dog bed and dog treats in the room for dog babies. I had a cat, but she seemed content in the room. Nice to find a hotel that accepts pets. Overall this hotel has everything going for it and I was disappointed it was not better. With the Best Western name, I expect more.
We wish to commend both Jackie and Jennifer for helping us ‘de-stress' during this winter's very heavy snow fall, and delays due to highway closures. Often times it may be difficult to remember names after somewhat short interactions. Not not!! Jackie and Jennifer will be names long remembered.
The rooms are a little dated, but the friendly staff and good restaurant make this the place to stay when flying out of Reno. Although there is 24 hour shuttle service the airport is only a block away so walking there is not out of the question.
This location is so close to the airport you could practically walk to it, though if you don't have a car, take the shuttle. The staff here was very accomodating and extended my stay due to weather related issues. They also upgraded my room with out me asking for an upgrade. The hotel is nice and the rooms and beds are comfortable.
Hotel was clean and inviting with a restaurant and lounge. Room was comfortable with a recliner and comfortable desk and chair. Care was apparent in the cleanliness of the room and the "Bed and Biscuit" service provided for my Dog was appreciated. In both check in and check out I felt like the staff really cared about my experience and were happy we chose to stay there. Highly recommend as a traveling dog owner. This place was such a sweet surprise after an abomidable experience at another hotel 2 weeks earlier. Although it's located nearly under a freeway and next door to the airport, you would never know it from your room. It was very quiet and easy to get a good nights sleep.
We were moving cross country with our 3 dogs and had been on the road for quite a while. The front desk staff made our stay pleasant for us as well as our dogs. You have a glass door to take your animals in and out, it made things easy for us. They have a big pet pillow with snacks. It's also a great place for the humans
All the GOOD reviews of the hotel are spot on. the staff, the room, and grounds are really nice. The only thing I can complain about is the hot water in the shower. it went hot/cold/hot/cold. for 3 mornings, I didn't really have a hot shower. Granted the hotel isn't a big resort, but, I think the hot water system could use some help. Other then that, I would stay at this hotel again.
Located adjacent to both the Reno Airport and the 580 Freeway, this hotel offers convenience and affordability. No Casino (I actually prefer not having to walk through a gaming area to access my room), however there is a restaurant, lounge and caffe bar. The rooms surround a pleasant inner courtyard. Unlike most of the hotels in town there is no "resort fee." Refrigerator, Microwave, good Internet service and free regular television channels are included. The staff is friendly and provides good service. My only other comment is that when I booked the room online, there was a choice between a regular room and a "pet friendly" room: when I arrived to check in I was informed that although I had booked the "pet friendly" room and was quoted a price online, I was required to pay an additional charge for the privilege of having the pet in the hotel, which was not shown nor listed as policy on the website.
We like to stay here when we have an early flight. It's less than a mile to the airport, and parking is cheaper than airport parking. $9 a night vs. $12 a night. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and friendly staff.
Pet friendly and very friendly and helpful staff. Quick check in and very accomidating for our puppy. The sliding doors to the outside made it easy for us to take our puppy out for fresh air. The dog treats, bags, and bed were a nice touch.
We stayed at the Best Western in Reno for a trip to the snow, with our dog. Check in was very efficient and the rooms were nice. They were not the newest, but clean (especially considering it was a pet room), and the beds were comfortable. There was a grass area right outside of our room for the dogs to do their business. We ended up staying only one night, since our dog did not want to sleep (first time in a hotel), and I had to walk her every hour so we should not bark and wake up other guests. Please note that breakfast is not included in the rate. Not a big deal, there is a restaurant in the hotel, and there are plenty of place within a few minutes. Also, there is a Costco nearby, with a gas station, if you need it.
Sufficient space, clean room: not very spacious but enough for two persons, not that nice-looking but decent and clean. Facilities are complete: microwave+refrigerator+heating+hairdryer. Unfortunately breakfast wasn't included by your room charge, but their restaurant does offer very delicious food.
This hotel was a surprise to me -- in that my room was quieter and nicer than I expected for the price and location. At first I was put into a room that faced the street. It was super noisy, even with the window shut, and the room itself, while clean, was outdated. I asked for a room facing inward, toward the courtyard. It was like a different place. Recently renovated, very quiet. The courtyard has lovely plantings so my view was gardens. I'd stay again, if I can be assured of a courtyard-facing room.
Our flight got in late in the evening and we need a close place to stay. Hotel was directly across from the terminal, literally a 5 min van ride. Even with the proximity to the airport our stay was not disturbed with plane noise. The property is older but the room was nicely updated. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Would definitely book again!
After a week in Lake Tahoe, we had a 6am flight back home. We did not want to drive through the hills at 3am so we booked a room here for a very low rate. We arrived around 4pm and had an easy and quick check in. The room was very basic but had everything we needed. As soon as we stepped in the room we heard the the smoke alarm beeping like the battery needed to be changed. Five minutes after a call to the front desk the issue was resolved. We had a hard time figuring out the shower (you had to pull on it VERY hard) we had decent water pressure albeit a small dark space. There is a lovely courtyard to sit and relax, but Reno seems to have a large number of smokers so it is kind of difficult to enjoy if you are not a smoker. The parking is free and you are directly across the street from the airport so it make this the perfect place to stay if you have an early flight out.
I've been here for the past 3 weeks this time and both weeks the WIFI has stopped working, Each time I'm told you will do something about it. I like getting Best Western points but you need to provide some minimum items, The wait time in your restaurant for breakfast is so long I've choose other options.
The location for this hotel was outstanding -- just across the street from the airport. The staff was courteous and helpful, both in checking in and out. The entire hotel was nice and clean, hot water was plentiful, the high-off-the-floor king bed was really comfortable, there was plenty of space in the room, sink area was separate from toilet-shower area (a real plus!), and there was easy access from the parking lot to the room. My husband tells me he kept waking up that night because of the cooling fan and refrigerator kicking off and on during the night. I, on the other hand slept like a baby!! It was really a very quiet hotel. Although there was not a free breakfast, there is a restaurant within the hotel space. The food was good and not over-the-top expensive. All in all, a very nice stay. I recommend it.
Right across from the airport makes it very convenient for those needing to fly or rent a car. However, it is not as good as other Best Western Plus Hotels we have stayed in in the past. We only stayed one night. There is a restaurant on site. We did not gamble.
Wow!..Once, twice, three times I was potentially stranded yet in every unrelated instance, 3 different Sure Stay associates took epic care of me. Monique, Yenmy, & Carlos are just some of the many reasons to patronize this specific Best Western. My luck at nearby gaming did not rationalize a return to my first to this Vegas alternative, I hope to visit again Asap thanks exclusively to Sure Stay Reno).
Centrally located. No “Resort” fees. Excellent wi-fi. Right next to Highway 580. Had third floor room (top floor). Room was very quiet. Only three miles to Interstate 80. Pet friendly establishment. Definitely will stay again.
It is located next to the airport and has an on-call shuttle. Ask for a second-floor unit as the floor creaks. Our tub drain was almost completely blocked and the TV was stuck on the Philips screen. For a quick rest before catching an early morning flight, it is an acceptable choice.
Great service at this hotel. Even though it was a busy weekend for the entire city, full of people and motorcycles, this hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. Thank you SureStay for playing a huge role in my perfect weekend!
Very friendly helpful staff. Got the room we asked for. Cafe was simple but clean, fast and friendly. Jackie at the front desk was the best. Very professional and a good example for other employees to follow.
Prefect stop to stay before flying out. Clean and reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again. Has a restaurant. Lounge and nice courtyard. Coffee in room, microwave and refrigerator. Also has shuttle ro airport
I came to Reno one day earlier than planned because I was afraid the hurricane would delay my flight on Friday. The people at this hotel let me check in early, and I was able to take a nap since getting up at 4:00 am. The room was perfectly quiet, despite being so close to the airport. The bed was very comfortable, the room perfectly clean. I had a great Cobb salad for dinner in their restaurant, and a too sour Margarita that was replaced by my waitress when I said she didn't have to replace it! (2nd one was perfect!) Breakfast was equally good, and the waitress was again accommodating. Did I mention Kevin, who picked me up at the airport and returned me there the next day to meet my relatives with whom I was going to a family wedding? He was very friendly and helpful! If you are looking for a clean, quiet place to stay with excellent staff, then I would highly recommend this place
I've stayed at the SureStay in Reno 7 times. The first time I picked it due to its proximity to the terminal. That's one of many reasons I return including the clean reasonable rooms, the people, the breakfast, and the manicured verdant grounds.
I didn't expect much when I booked the reservation. I can honestly say the next time I'm in Reno I will stay here again. It is the little things. I was traveling with Dogs. When I entered the room, they had a dog bed on the floor and treats for the dogs. The room was clean. The hotel had a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is well worth a visit.
My husband and I used this hotel for the first time last month. We live p/t in South Lake Tahoe and stayed here as I was flying out from Reno early the next AM. We arrived in our 24 ft Winnebago and our golden retriever. I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel! Staff was efficient and courteous. Parking was ample and we parked our RV in a well lit lot steps from the hotel. The hotel was laid out very nicely. Our room, which was immaculate and quiet, was close to the door where the pet yard was located. We ate at the restaurant and found that to be tasty. The lobby was spacious and attractive. Our room was immaculate as I mentioned earlier. The dog bed looked brand new. The room was of a nice size and the beds were very comfy. It is so close to the airport that you could easily walk if you wanted. I took the free shuttle as I had a very early flight. The shuttle driver at 5 am was cheerful and helpful too. Great hotel and I would definitely recommend to anyone.
The hotel could not accommodate my rewards status with an update because lack of rooms. They did give me a lovely room overlooking the pool. I did have a nice meal in the coffee shop. The only downside is the meal came with stemmed vegetables instead of saute as advertised. I know that is petty but it matters to your taste buds. I would stay again. Staff is wonderful and friendly.
Called the 800 Best Western # and thought I was booking the Boomtown location only to find out the agent booked me in the airport one. I felt like it was a bait and switch as the Boomtown location says Reno but then the book you in the older less nice airport location. Big disappointment when they refused to fix it saying it was my fault. I will not stay at Best Western again. I was not happy with the 800 number customer service. It would have been nicer if they had honored the hotel we were trying to book. Instead I had to drive out pof our way.
This was a good choice for a quick overnight stay. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and it is very close to the airport. We did not use the pool but there is an outdoor pool with a nice seating area including outdoor patio furniture.
Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful upon arrival. We were warmly welcomed by Ceara. I suggest that you call thus hotel directly to make sure they can accommodate you with a pet friendly room, if travelling with your pet(s). There is a pet fee of $25 per pet. Our double Queen room was very nice and relaxing. Beds were also comfy. Pillows were too fluffy though, so bring your favorite pillow with you. The airport is literally across the street and we hardly heard the planes. We had a nice view of the pool. We've stayed at many hotels in Reno with Casinos and this one was a gem without. Would highly recommend a stay and we will definitely stay here again.
This hotel is literally across the street. We waited longer for our Uber than it would have taken to walk from D exit. We had a late landing 11:30 pm. This worked for what we needed. Hospitality is not their forte. The outside areas are nicer than the rooms. Lobby is fine with bar, restaurant... the room was antiquated like original 70s orange carpet. Old spring beds with nice toppers. Soft clean sheets. It was clean overall but carpets need replaced. Coffee maker in room.
The airport is just across the street, the hotel shuttles seem to run all night (we had to leave at 5 a.m. (no problems)) the people were pleasant and highly competent, the restaurant was fast and good and the room was comfortable, clean and in full working order. Surprisingly, there was no aircraft noise in the hotel. Amazing value for money and great convenience.for the airport.
This is a nice hotel, and the grounds are beautiful! The lounge is small, but nice, and our bartender, Taylor was very friendly. However, I have some complaints: 1. At check-in, Desk Clerk, Trisha, was very unfriendly, did not greet us properly or smile...no chit chat at all with her as she continuously cut me off mid sentence when we were checking in. I felt that she was trying to get everyone checked in really fast, and couldn't be bothered to answer any questions that I might have had. She needs a lesson in how to treat guests, being that she is in the Hospitality Business. 2. The room we had was right next to the elevator, and was quite noisy. I should've asked for another room, but I didn't. Maybe adding some soundproofing insulation in the walls of these rooms, would make them more comfortable for everyone. 3. There isn't a complimentary continental breakfast, as there is a restaurant on site, which I'm not complaining about. The food was pretty good, and the waitress was friendly. However, after reading some of the reviews this morning, we should've been given coupons for a discount at the restaurant, upon checking-in to the hotel. 4. At check-out, once again Trisha was at the front desk. It seemed that she wanted to get through the checkout process as quick as she could, so she was waiting on three guests at the same time, instead of taking care of each guest, individually. Behind me was another guest Trisha recognized, and she proceeded to ask him what he needed, while still waiting on me. That guest had had a problem with his room, said that he was there to get a refund, and she said to him that she had already upgraded him to the presidential suite, so what's the problem? The desk clerk should not be addressing another customer or their problems while waiting on another, it is rude and discourteous to everyone. Again, another instance of her not giving each guest her undivided attention. Then she asked me "Do you need a receipt?" And when I said yes, she said, "God, everyone wants a receipt this morning." I said that I charged things to our room, and wanted the receipt to check over my charges. I had asked other front desk staff questions a couple times throughout my stay, and was treated kindly by them. I would consider staying here again, if I could be assured of friendly, courteous, customer service from everyone at the front desk staff, instead of being made to feel like we are an inconvenience. Whether busy or slow, guests should always be greeted with a smile, and treated with courtesy and respect. Without us, you would not have a paycheck.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. We needed some place reasonable and economical, close to the airport after a tiring cross-country journey. The courtesy shuttle to/from the hotel is prompt and polite, and the ride takes maybe 90 seconds. We were happy with all aspects of the stay: courteous check-in, comfortable room, clean and quiet environment. The property isn't overly fancy or pretentious, but it is a great choice for travelers. The WiFi is fast, and there's a small microwave and fridge in the room. Best of all, the price is very reasonable. We didn't eat at the on-premises restaurants. We would stay here again, without hesitation.
Stayed here for one night before heading down to Lake Tahoe and it was really pleasant. We didn't sleep great as we were on the 3rd floor and there was no sight of the air con but our breakfast was gorgeous and one of the waitresses were great.
At first I didn't realize this was a best western. It was very clean, comfortable and a good value. No issues with the hotel or staff. There were a couple of conventions going on, but that didn't cause any issues. I would stay again.
This is a nice hotel, rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights and went for breakfast at Denny's which is about a 10 min walk from the hotel. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel. The food is ok. But the restaurant and bar are understaffed. The service was good despite the time it took to get our drinks and food.
Was going to pull the trigger & stay here but when I called to verify they did have a pool I was told "it's not up yet".... maybe in a couple of weeks. If having a pool to lounge around is something you want during your stay in Reno you may want to double check on this property before you make your reservations.
Based on the reviews here, I wasn't expecting the room to be as nice as it was. It was a fairly modern, bright room. The Wifi worked well. My only complaints were the shower (the showerhead pressure was non-existent and the water temperature constantly changed) and the severe lack of TV channels --- there were probably only about 20 channels (or less) available. The last time I was in a hotel room with that small of a choice was probably a Motel 6 years ago.
Very convenient location to airport. We arrived around 12:30am and were tried. Room was spacious, clean and suitably priced. Service was lacking. Front desk seemed horribly inconvenienced by our arrival (even though we called the day before nothing our late arrival), but they warmed up to our early morning humor Before we finished the interaction. Went down to get coffee in the morning before hitting the road and nobody would serve us. Waited for a few mins, people walked by, people inside stood there. Went outside for a few mins and came back with same issue. So no coffee for us. We were going to eat breakfast there but we're pretty disgusted with their unwillingness to help so we just left and went elsewhere. The hotel and grounds are nice!
This is a good place to stay if arriving in Reno late, as it is walking distance from the airport terminal and rent a car garage. Rooms were quiet and beds comfortable. They even provided organic shampoos and conditioners. I had a bowl of Pho for a late dinner at the restaurant there and it was really pretty good. The included breakfast was better than the usual hotel "free" breakfast.
I've stayed here quite a few times when it was a BW Plus, before the business changed ownership. It was a comfortable, friendly location. I didn't have that experience this last time as a BW Sure Stay Plus. It looks the same as before with all the usual BW amenities, but it's missing the “friendly” factor big time. I travel extensively and always with BW so I never hold it against management for butt-head noisy guests or street noise; it happens everywhere and that's that. However, management IS accountable for the actions and attitudes of personnel. The folks at this location should be reminded/trained to offer genuine “hospitality”, since that is the industry they're in. Easy to find, great parking, nice clean rooms. If you don't like making coffee in your room be prepared to pay (and wait) for it at the kiosk in the lobby. The attached restaurant is okay for dinner in terms food quality. The bar/lounge area is nice with servers that “get it”. If your a fan of the Best Western breakfast buffet you won't get that here either and expect to really test your patience with the AM service in the restaurant.
Stayed here with my mom and daughter over Memorial Day weekend. The rate was pretty decent compared to other hotels, but we were on the first floor and heard everything going on. People crying in the hallway at 3 am, slamming doors, etc. The bed in the room above us squeeked and must not have been comfortable with all the tossing and turning during the night. Saturday morning, no service from housekeeping, but it was our fault as we forgot to take down the "do not disturb" sign. We were careful to take down the sign Sunday morning so we would get fresh towels. We came back to our room after 11 pm and found it untouched. We called the front desk and someone brought us two towels for three people, and no coffee. Be sure to stay on the third floor if you decide to stay here. We will pay a bit more for a nicer place.
We stay here when we need to go to the airport. We always have an early flight. The transportation is 24 hrs to airport. The staff are great an the restaurant is ok. They have a bar to have drinks to wind down.
I love this hotel. Lobby is very nice and welcoming. Staff is friendly. Rooms may seem a little dated, decor wise to some, but I don't mind that. My room is big enough even with a king size bed. There is room for yoga. Plenty of lamps in room for lighting. Fridge and microwave. Bathroom large even with tub and toilet. Sink is outside bathroom in own alcove, and is open and airy. Room has a desk, chair, and also a table with two chairs. I like how you can also open windows to outside for fresh air. Windows open just a crack, but enough for fresh air which I prefer instead of a/c. Love the outdoor seating area with fireplace which is inviting and welcoming
If I could leave negative stars I would. I landed in my flight at midnight. When I got to this hotel for my reservation they tell me it was cancelled!! And they are now booked no vacancies! And I am on their site and its showing I checked in and I have a confirmation and all but that didnt matter so here I am at 1 am having to sleep in my rental because all hotels are booked.. i am stranded!
I like this hotel because you can almost walk to the airport if you needed to. It isn't luxury but does offer a frig, micro and coffee pot in the room. The TV is really nice too. And the shuttle runs 24/7. Many of the nearby hotels don't start shuttle service early enough to get you to the airport for 6AM flights. The stuff they could do to make this hotel nicer?.....get a new kind of bar soap - it's rough, the towels are really cheap and thin, there are no outlets on the desk and few others in the room; answer: put a power strip on the desk. The desk chair was broken and stuck in the lowest setting - useless to try and work at the desk. The bedding is thin - use thicker blankets. ON the other hand the pillows are way too thick. Two thicker pillows with two thinner pillows would meet everyone's needs.
Overall no issues, great location for the airport however. Room was good size, all functioning though bathroom little on small side. No noise from panes considering proximity. Able to get early check in was bonus. Staff friendly
The staff was very friendly and prompt addressing a few minor concerns we had. We stayed 2 seperate nights in a one week period amd ended up with exterior rooms both times. The freeway noise is awful. We should have asked for an interior room.
Room was very clean. Plenty of options for food very close to hotel. Didn't have breakfast or coffee available because we checked out at 6am (complimentary reakfast served from 6:30-9:30). Was a perfect location for an overnight stop on our way home to Chicago from Florida. All we needed was dinner and a clean, comfy place to sleep. This hotel fit the bill at a reasonable price.
This used to be a Best Western. My wife and I stayed here 2 nights in March. Very comfortable large room with a good king bed. The staff is nice and they give you coupons for 25% off your breakfast at their regular restaurant. They also give coupons off for the restaurant at dinnertime. A free glass of house wine with one dinner entree ( Value of $13 ). Other coupons to that can be used in their Crosswinds Lounge. It's really close to the airport but we only saw, not heard, one plane take off while were were here. We only paid $146.36 Total for Two days and nights. That's all taxes included. $62.99 per night before taxes. I wish all hotels could be this affordable.
Need to have more front desk staff working evenings. Woman was working there alone and we waited 30 minutes to get our room assigned. They have updated the lobby area but not the rooms, and it was in need of renovations. The bed was the worst, we sunk into individual holes. My husband kept complaining of the smell in the place. We stay in Best Western hotels a lot, but we will not be returning to this location. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. (And yes you can hear the airplanes)
I've stayed at this hotels dozens and dozens of times over the past few years....apparently they got bought out recently. I've always enjoyed this hotel, however, that is...when I could bring my small pocket pup and only pay $15/nightly fee. Since I am a platinum BW member...I went to book on line for points to stay this week. Room rate going to cost approx $70. I decided to call and request a 'dog room w/sliding door' in advance since website didn't allow this type of request. I was told my rate would be $130!! I asked re: what do fee is now and front desk person told me $50 per nite/per pet. Ridiculous! Also, was trying to charge me even more than that! Head scratch.... I asked if I had simply booked, pre-paid and arrived there w/pet, what would happen? He said my rate would be bumped to the $130. REALLY unethical and again, outrageous fee! Esp for what used to be a pet friendly place and probably why they were booked all the time but no longer. Crossing this BW off my list! (The rooms are not that great btw...dated and soiled carpet. But suited me because they were PET FRIENDLY!)
We just walked out of the airport and hotel was just at the walking distance.. we were really tired and were welcomed so nicely at the hotel.. nice cozy clean rooms to stay .. food was super amazing and we enjoyed drinks at the bar inside the hotel .. A place to visit for all .. would love to come again soon
I like the hotel but they don't seen to know how to fix there wireless issues I informed them of the issues but it was never fixed. this does effect us that work on our PC's. If there's no one onsite that can fix it we would rather just be told it won't be working that day.
I had a perfect stay for my business trip. My room had a fridge and microwave along with a lounge chair. The restaurant and bar where both a home run in terms of quality and price. Place was clean and had good Wifi..
I was a little hesitant at first because of proximity to the airport but swear none of us in our group of 6 heard anything. There is a restaurant on the property that was as good as any top rated place. Friendly staff, clean rooms, nothing fancy but as good as it gets. I would not hesitate to stay again. And by the way, I am on to my next trip to a 5 star hotel. I have a lot of hotel experience. Easy check in. My only advice- fix the seat belts in the van!
A trully delightful hotel/motel and it is by the airport. The check in was really easy and the desk personnel were really helpful!. The little bar/lounge was very inviting and a great place to start the evening. For Breakfast the restaurant was magnificent, great selection and my eggs were done perfectly! Oh yes and a reasonable charge!
Pros: 24 hour van; clean rooms, pleasant room view onto garden despite location outside of airport; free shuttle to large casino. Cons: fitness center not available during my stay; basic rooms, but tv worked well; very long corridors, but that could be a plus for some. All in all, good value.
Arrived in the airport at 10:30 pm to find friendly staff at front desk to greet us. We had walked from the baggage claim as it is only across the street but the hotel staff informed us we should have called them to pick us up. The next morning we had a satisfying breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The driver took us over to the airport for us to pick up our rental car. Back to the hotel with our Dollar Rental to puck up our baggage and check out. All very convenient. Lobby had comfortable seating. AAA special rates.
I stay here when I have an early flight out of the Reno airport. It is clean and comfortable with helpful desk clerks. I have not eaten in the restaurant as I usually arrive after dinner and leave on the 5 am shuttle. I find it the perfect place for this kind of stay.
I booked this room on line through best western, it was Pre Paid. When I checked in I showed the clerk my pre paid receipt and she acknowledged it, and I wrote Pre Paid on the Check-in form. The next morning when I checked out I was charged again and when I point this out to the morning clerk she acted like I was speaking Martian. So, two problems: I'm STILL fighting to get a credit for one of the two charges. And the supposed discounted on-line Pre-Paid rate was 45% higher than the walk-in rate — W T F Best Western?
Average hotel. There's a bar & restaurant inside. The bed was so hard, super uncomfortable, I thought the springs were going to poke through! Cute outside area with an gas fireplace. Checkout wasn't till noon which is always nice.
Only stayed here one night in April to catch early morning flight. Hotel was better than expected with a much better than expected restaurant. For the price we paid, this was a real bargain. The pillows were not the greatest, but everything else, including staff, was very good.
I came into Reno on a late flight and only stayed 1 night before heading to Lake Tahoe. I wasn't expecting much but was happy with the condition of the hotel, the bar, it's food, and the staff. I would stay here again for the price. It used to be a Best Western, not sure what it will be but in transition. Close to airport so that's convenient and a plus.
1. Checked in waited at counter for sometime as 5 desk people stumbled through 3 guests, keys did not work. 2. AM received bill even though I checked in for 2 nights-had to resolve ordered coffee at coffee bar, ask for milk, very polite but handed me 1 gallon jug to pour myself 3. next day rest of family checked in to change but computers were down, needed to change to attend funeral, sometime later was they were able to get one room of the 3 additional. 4. after service, my niece ordered some Pho to go from restaurant, Pho was featured on display board. It took just under an hour. 5. original reservation requested rooms be close together, they were all on different floors or wings. 6. Most of workers were polite but just lacked the 'good customer service' mentality, but a little better than the DMC.
You stay at this hotel for it's location rather than comfort. On the plus side, I walked from the airport terminal to the hotel (shuttle is also available but it is so close it's probably quicker to walk). On the negative side, this hotel has not seen fresh paint for years (decades?). It is old and tired and desperately needs some attention. Staff were very friendly. Restaurant food was good enough although I took care to order something easy.
Yes, the Hotel is in transition - change of ownership and although it was ok, the rooms need to be updated. The first room offered - RM 137 smelt like an ashtray and we asked for another room. Got one on the 3rd floor which was ok. The linens are old - my sheets almost had holes in them. They only had big pillows so it was hard on my neck. There should be a variety of pillow sizes. Carpets need cleaning. Now the food and service was opposite. Great service at the lounge. The Pho (I had chicken and my friend had pork) was delicious and my other friend enjoyed her Cobb Salad. Shuttle to the airport at 4 am was greatly appreciated too. Courtyard was beautiful.
