Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre

On checking in we were met by a very knowledgeable front desk clerk. We were pleased with the room decor and cleanliness. Room very nice. We especially liked breakfast. I was happy when I was informed that E V charging ports were complimentary Terry Millard

The room was clean. The hotel was quiet. I arrived in the evening and ordered room service for dinner this time. It was quick and delicious. Internet was excellent for working. Great stay. It is to bad there aren't more options to dine within walking distance of the hotel. But a quick drive gives you many options. And the front desk has lots of suggestions for different cravings!!

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious and clean. The staff at the front desk and Cafe downstairs were fantastic. Great attitude. Helpful, friendly and make customers feel welcome.

The bedding (sheets, pillows, mattress) is extremely comfortable. Super clean room. Also, was able to charge my electric car. The staff was extremely friendly. I did not try the restaurant nor the breakfast person since I had to leave early. However, check out was super simple.

Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre is a very good hotel and we spent a very happy time during spring break. I think the most important thing for a hotel is to keep the room clean and I have lots of requirements for that. At Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre, I'm so surprised that I can't find any odors and unclean places in my room, especially the pillows and bed. Furthermore, I want to say that the receptionists are nice and friendly, say thanks to them. When I plan the summer holiday travel, I can't find Best Western at the destination city, I hope you operate more hotels everywhere.

This was without a doubt my worst hotel stay in Ottawa and I will never be staying at this hotel again. My room was extremely outdated and poorly repaired water damaged ceilings. TV did not work, windows are single pane and screwed shut but did not block any sound from the Hospital across the road so was woken up at 3am to sirens from the hospital with my windows all closed. Tiles are cracked in the bathroom, baseboard is a strip of plastic stapled to the wall, ceiling has large lines of water damage, light switches didn't work properly, stains on the walls and curtains. This was a terrible stay for $136-$145 a night during the week and my room was in horrible condition. Restaurant in the basement is terrible, breakfast came out cold and was way overpriced. This hotel needs significant upgrades and repairs to be worth the amount it costs to stay here.

From the very beginning of checking in to checking out 2 days later everything was lovely. Our arrival date had changed due to a snowstorm, we were driving from New Brunswick, and the front desk clerk was very understanding and accommodating. She moved our check in/out dates with no charge. Our room was superb, king bed, fireplace, 2 comfy chairs and very clean. The restaurant had great food and very friendly wait staff. Shout out to the manager, I think his name was Frank. He gave us good advise about the parking for the NHL game we were attending. I would highly recommend this location for your stay in Ottawa. It was very easy getting onto the highway for any destination around the area.

I chose the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre because it is close to downtown. I had a meeting early the next day and I live out of town. I told the staff this when I arrived and they arranged to have a taxi waiting for me the next morning. I ate in the restaurant on site three times and each time the staff were very friendly and the menu had good choices for both breakfast and dinner. It was a nice room to come home to at the end of a long day.

I can't say enough good about the staff... amazing people who have taken good care of the business.... only 1 small problem with the coffee machine but otherwise a perfect night. . the restaurants food was delicious and the waitress went above and beyond...

The rooms were very clean and spacious. The admitting staff were personable and friendly. The beds are very comfortable! I would definitely book here again for business or with my family during vacation. Nothing but good comments for my stay!

Hotel was easy to locate, good access and check in was efficient. Central location was close to many amenities that could be reached by vehicle, walking or public transit. Staff was polite and helpful. Restaurant/lounge has good service and good food.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, close to amenities nearby. Clean rooms, comfortable bed. The price was decent and worth it for having a great sleep. Microwave came in handy, since we brought dinner with us

We were in town for a funeral and this location was a quick cab ride to the funeral home. It is recommended to have access to a vehicle if you plan to travel around Ottawa to see the various attractions. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. Our reservation was upgraded to a room with a kitchenette which is definitely a bonus if you are staying longer and/or traveling with children. Small hot meals can be prepared in the room. Dishes, cutlery, etc are contained in the kitchenette. It was a very good value for our money.

Rooms clean and modern. An early check-in was allowed and made our appointment at the Ottawa hospital very easy to get to to. Food, breakfast and supper, at restaurant was excellent. Wonderful hostess at dinner.

This hotel was built excellent for our needs. Had an event at the EY Centre and was close enough. Close also to Transat if you want to get downtown. We got a room with a fireplace and was a lovely room to sit and relax before bed.

The rooms were basic but very clean. There was a small safe, Keurig, microwave and mini fridge. We were given a bottled water upon check-in. Toiletries provided were bar soap, shampoo and conditioner. We had breakfast at the Cafe 1274 restaurant and it was basic but tasty. There was only Orange Pekoe tea unfortunately. The server was very efficient and friendly. There is a strip mall across the street with a Shopper's Drug Mart and some restaurants. I will be returning here in the future.

We came to Ottawa as a family member was suddenly going to pass. We checked in late as we were tired and exhausted for a day of travelling to get to the hospital nearby in time. Ottawa Civic Hospital is just two minutes down the road which is why we selected this hotel AND the fact that we have had great experiences with Best Western hotels in the past. The front desk clerk "Sherry" was our sudden angel. When booking in she casually asked "So what brings you to Ottawa" and I then told her why. I informed her that we needed any room but preferably a king and that we work for the government. Sherry quickly understood our stressful situation with picking up family at airports and getting to hospital in time to say goodbyes etc. Sherry put us in an AMAZING suite with fridge, dishwasher etc as we didn't know how long we will be staying. We received our corporate discount on a basic room but were upgraded (we are also BW perks members). I can't say enough about the compassion Sherry showed my husband and I and how accomodating she was to make sure we were taken care of. After my family member passed we were able to use our large room to come back to and make decisions moving forward. Having the kitchen available for cold drinks, healthy snacks (Sherry pointed out where to go to get these) was SO helpful. The room was SO CLEAN, comfy bed, GREAT amenities and we ate at the on site restaurant and the food was wonderful. This is a great place to stay and I highly recommend. Sherry... from the bottom of our hearts, Thank you for the empathy and compassion you showed us. The personal touch is why I will continue to pick the BW brand.

Great help on phone and front desk. Very clean rooms. Very convenient to local shopping center across Carling. I'd definately stay there again and would recommend this location to people from all walks of life whether traveling for business or pleasure.

We traveled across eastern Canada and stayed at 5 different hotels and we simply had the best experience here. Firstly Sherry was great at check-in. She was kind, patient, welcoming and it seemed like she cared and just wanted us to have a good time in Ottawa. Not to mention the room itself was great.

I was a Tour Leader for 14 years. This hotel is among the very best one I stayed in. I found nothing to complain about. Even the shower worked top fine. I recommend this hotel to all. Even Shoppers accross the street

The beds are so comfy and the sheets always crisp and clean the way I like them. When I check in the staff is always very friendly and welcoming. After checking in I usually go to the restaurant on site for a glass of red wine and a good burger.

I came to Ottawa. The wife as my daughter is attending University here and I was not advised for I. Put my room that there was a family pricing for University students. The front desk agent then advised us of this family pricing. After we made a little joke with her. We did ask if we could have this pricing since we are eligible for it. She then said no, it's too late. We couldn't understand why as we did not pay for our stay as yet, and she could. Book a reservation. As a family under the University package? But she refused and I was not going to argue. I paid more than double of what the family University package would be, and that was that.

Wonderful, spacious room. Clean, Clean, Clean hotel. Amazing staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. One of the best overall stays we have had at any hotel, and we travel a LOT! The lobby is card controlled after 9pm. The location is wonderfully close to downtown and everything you want to visit in Ottawa, and far enough away so you are not right in the think of it all the time. There is a restaurant downstairs- (have the chocolate cake). Internet was fast and reliable. OF NOTE: There is a Shopper's Drug Mart (pharmacy) right across the street and a wonderful diner for breakfast, if you choose).

A very nice place. Situated so it fitted for my visit to the area. staff where help full and friendly. breakfast was ok and menu card had a ok variety. restaurant staff where polite and efficient. So enjoyed my stay.

This was a fine, quick overnight stay while visiting in Ottawa. It all turned out to be a good experience - based on this night, we would recommend this hotel to friends. Next time we will try out the breakfast menu before we head out.

Just spent one night in the hotel whilst driving from the north to Toronto. Pleasant hotel with easy parking solution on site. Room was standard but comfortable and clean. We also ate in the restaurant downstairs and it was surprisingly good! Fair stay. Helpful reception staff.

We were there to visit friends and family and to see some more of the many interesting features of Ottawa and it just so happens that some of the best are not far from the BW Plus and easy to get to.Our stay was quiet and anything we needed was across the street if we didn't want to go too far and the food services were very good.The only negative would be the atrocious television channels if you want to watch something other than streaming.

Staff very helpful and professional ..loved the clean room also bed and pillows so comfortable. Great parking....It is centrally located and easy to access mare routes.. We will definitely be coming back.

The staff at this Best Western went above and beyond, letting us check in early on a very wet day, and giving us a glass of wine on our 54th wedding anniversary. Simar and Amanda are a credit to this Best Western.

The amenities are great. Free parking, hi-speed internet and close to shops and local transport. This place also has room service which rare now-a-days! Will be sure to recommend to friends and use for future stays..

This hotel has a great location just off the 417 at Carling Avenue in Ottawa. Near many popular tourist sites and also the Ottawa Retina Centre and the Civic Campus of the Ottawa hospital. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly, courteous and accommodating. Lots of free parking. There is an onsite restaurant that serves tasty food. You can purchase a breakfast or suppervoucher to have your meal at a reduced price. The outdoor heated pool is a real treat. The Best Western rewards program is great. This is my go to hotel when I visit Ottawa

I stayed here with my brother for a night to go to Bluesfest! The staff were incredibly friendly, the room was clean and the beds were comfy. It was a bit out of the way from downtown, but we knew that going in.

First, unlike most Best Westerns, this one does not offer complimentary breakfasts. The rooms are clean. The towels and linens cheap. The AC was not working and the room was really hot. I went to use the expensive laundry machine and it was not working. Not located in the City Centre. You have to drive 15 minutes to get downtown.

Room was clean and beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and we had a great stay. Pretty much an average hotel with an average stay. Felt safe in the location. Would stay again if we went through Ottawa.

I have been staying at the Best Western Ottawa City Centre for about a week a month for years to visit my parents, and will keep doing so. I would never stay anywhere else. My first regular staff contact was Sherry, who gives me unbelievable customer service. She treats me like a friend or family member, and goes well beyond the call of duty. If you forget something, she will make sure you get it, she comes to know your story and your family, she advises on local amenities and restaurants, and she even waits up for me when I am late. Other staff are also wonderful, know me when I call for another reservation, and are friendly and helpful. I could say more but you get the idea. Highly recommend this place!

Good location. Close walk to a shopping mall and a large number of local restaurants. Also a short ride to downtown Ottawa. Excellent staff service both at the check in and throughout my entire three night stay. Also a large, very nice room with all required amenities. Good in hotel bar and restaurant, which I used twice.

Comfortable and convenient for our visit to Ottawa. Room was clean, food service was exceptional and for the most part was quiet during the evening. Breakfast staff were very friendly and professional, as were all the other staff we encountered.

Quiter part of the city but still close enough to get where you need to go in a timely fashion. Kind staff and friendly atmosphere. Restaurant is open until 10pm so was nice to be able to get warm food upon our later arrival.

This is an older hotel that is staffed attentive and efficient staff. A very suitable stopover for a night or two. Obvious effort being made to update and modernize within constraint of the building. Restaurant on site and accessible to Ottawa by car or Uber

This Best Western Plus hotel was well situated right off the 417. Room was spacious, clean and rug free. Staff was very courteous. Complementary breakfast would have been a nice touch. The Cafe 1274 had excellent food and service. Would definitely stay there again!!

Best Western made us feel welcomed! The service at the front desk is impeccable! We were there to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and they left a box of chocolate and towel decoration. We were very impressed. Room with fireplace was beautiful!

Stayed one night for a little R&R, relaxed at the Cafe 1274 they have downstairs and spent some time at a local Mall across from the hotel. Nice clean rooms with great amenities. Had a great stay, thanks Best Western :)

We love this Best Western for its' location - close to family. It has spacious parking, a lovely little restaurant and is close to shopping. Rooms are clean and well-appointed with good Wi-Fi, TV, bar fridge, and coffee.

The knowledgeable Staff was VERY accommodating to our needs. During our stay we had a family emergency. Upon relating this to the Staff, they asked how they could help us. Our stay took place just before the Holidays, so a greater present one could not find

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to the Ottawa hospital Civic hospital campus when one of us had surgery and there was an extreme weather forecast. We loved it. Exception desk staff, sparkling clean and upgraded rooms that were remarkable in their spaciousness, great bathroom and provided soaps/shampoos, AND a wonderful on-site restaurant....what's not to love?!

Internet is poor, the business centre only allows you to view webpages and use a printer. But no data stick, microsoft, pdf, or download capability. Bar staff was Great, we ordered one drink the first night and she knew our order the second night.

The location was easy to get to and was close to public transportation. The staff were friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant/bar was convenient after the long trip to Ottawa. The room was spacious and very clean.

I have been travelling to Ottawa for work for many years now. Every time I go I'm happy to stay at this location. Great staff, great amenities, great location! You can get anywhere in the city in no time!!

This is a perfectly serviceable hotel. Nothing special. Nothing bad. It is conveniently located if you are comfortable driving around Ottawa. The walls seem to be a bit thin. Both times we have stayed here we've been kept awake at bedtime by noisy people in the hallways, then by crashing around in the early morning by what sounds like dumpsters being emptied at 6 a.m. It's reasonably priced, but I have stayed at better and paid less.

Stayed with my brother, we attended a concert at TD place. Neither of us were sure of the surrounding area at all, but Sherry, the front desk lady was the by far the best part. Super knowledgeable, approachable and friendly! 10/10 would definitely recommend, and stay again!

We recently stayed at Beat Western Ottawa City Centre for my daughters Carlton University graduation. We had a great stay and want to thank Sherry at the front desk for making our stay so special. We will definitely be back.

I absolutely loved my room at this hotel. It looked kinda big in the image, but when I got there it was massive! Honestly one of the biggest rooms I've stayed in I was shocked. We enjoyed the gym, the staff, just everything. If I'm ever staying in Ottawa again I'm staying here!

clean room, very accommodating staff, If you need to go to the hospital, this is the place to stay, as it is right down the street from here. I asked for a late check out because, I was not allowed in with my husband and they let me stay, and I was not charged for the delay, how much better can you get.

Wedding Celebration: we rented 11 rooms for 2 - 7 days duration. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean, staff very responsive and professional to all requests. Raymond, operator of the Cafe and his staff assisted with catering a family brunch of 23. Kitchen suites provided amenities needed for long stay. Despite staff shortages and rising food costs the staff met our expectations. This is not the Chateau but our expectations were met. Thanks for adding to the family celebration. Only negative: sales manager is unresponsive or delayed in his response times. We will be back.

I had a great experience at this hotel. Easy to check in and check out of the hotel a map to quickly was available so we could quickly understand what was around and where we want to go. The other great thing for our stay was the temperture of the hotel and room was perfect I never had to adjust heat or air for the first time in all my travels

We went for medical reasons. The hospital is very near Ottawa Civic, 7$ cab ride. The staff we're very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to return. Quiet area of the city. Restaurant on premise with excellent room service.

Please note that on this long weekend myself and my family planned to visit the Ottawa Parliament Building and booked our hotel at BW Best Western Plus , Ottawa. Unfortunately in my 23 years of frequent traveling / booking on BWH / HOTEL GROUP I never ever get that bad / unsafe incident as I got at you BW Plus. Myself, my wife and my daughter checked in at about 1800 hrs on Saturday, 10/08/22. We left all our belongings and valuable items and closed the door to visit Parliament. After a few hours when we came back to the hotel we noticed that our door room was ajar, however, we checked all our belongings and noticed that there was no serious incident that happened during our absence from the hotel room. Once we tried to close the door but it was not closing after several tries then I called the front desk to come up and help to close the door. The front desk rep came to the room and tried to close the door but several times it was not closed and a few times it was closed, however, I informed the front desk rep that rectified the issue and logged / mentioned it in the front desk portfolio and inform to the hotel maintenance to rectify the issue. Next day, Sunday, we went to visit other sites in Ottawa and my daughter went to visit her friend and she came to the hotel late night about midnight during our sleep. She shaked n waked up me and said she can not close the door, hence, I waked up and tried to close the door but I failed to closed it after several attempts and other room guests opened their room door to watch me as door was making noice very hard in pin silent time. On Monday prior to check out, I saw the maintenance in charge Mr. Mustafa and informed him the issue. Mr. Mustafa came with me and check himself the door closer and noticed that there were few technical issues and due to that the door unable to close properly at once. Now I would like to inform you that you have charged us the maximum price but you were failed to provide safe / happy stay at this hotel. Why you charged 100% charges if you can not provide as per charges? Secondly, the front desk rep did not act as he suppose to once I reported the compliant. This clearly indicating that your employees are vey much incompetent and unprofessional in their duties which jeopardize gusts life in danger situation. My family could not sleep peacefully in two nights our stay at BW.

the hotel was really out dated, no usb plus ins no extras nothing special, everything was 15-20 min drive away without traffic. the hotel was very loud and unpleasant guests. the rooms and hotel overall clean but basic. wish they offered better service

Absolutely awful customer service and experience. Booked a reservation, tried to check in and was not allowed to check in without a credit card. For personal reasons I do not own a credit card. They were not able to do anything at all to help. Asked if they could hold onto by luggage until someone else can check in with a card card in a couple hours, told no. Absolutely no help given and no warning a credit card would be required. Front desk was very rude. This will be my first and last time using any best western

Room was excellent; spacious with a kitchenette. Staff were super helpful. Internet was solid and property was well kept. Small mall across the street with a pharmacy and grocery store. Food options in the area is limited, but lost of delivery options.

Nice motel. I'd stay there again. Clean and in good condition throughout. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Minimal sound from road traffic in out 2nd floor room. Good internet service. Nice shower.

It satisfied us by it's location, it's room cleanliness, and the general overall updated look of the hotel, We did not eat breakfast there however we did go down to get our coffee. Dining room a step up from the basic help-yourself buffet offered at most hotels

Just stayed at the hotel for eye surgery near by and was an excellent experience. Was allowed to check in early to accommodate my surgery time later which was very helpful. Had supper in the restaurant there and was amazing! Very relaxing cozy environment and a great menu to choose from. Our server was professional and met all our needs. Supper was delicious as well as the dessert. Even had my favourite bourbon so we sat in the bar area and played pool (which was free). Breakfast the next morning was also excellent with lots of choices to choose from off the menu. A proper sit down warm breakfast with hot coffee..perfect way to start the day. We will definitely be back soon!

We stayed at the BW plus for one night - we had a wedding reception in Ottawa. The room was clean, the bathroom large with ample counter space for your personal belongings. Staff was friendly, pleasant and efficient. Parking on site was readily available and appreciated. No noisy neighbours.

The hotel appears renovated with spacious rooms equipped with a kitchenette. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable. The desk staff was courteous and helfpful. Check-in and check-out was fast and easy. The food in the hotel restaurant, Cafe 1247, was excellent yet reasonably priced. We ate at Cafe 1247 for breakfast, lunch and dinner as it's convenient and there are lots of choices. You must try the escargot! It's fantastic! We had to go back just to have the escargot again. Raymond, who is the owner of the restaurant, was so friendly. He came by to share some stories with us and to make sure our dining experience was satisfactory. We would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

As usual this is the Hotel of Choice for me . Stayed from Friday to Sunday and our stay was just wonderful from the time we checked in til we checked out, everyone was just amazing and especially our Housekeeping Lady , she was just lovely and accommodating to our needs. I have stayed at this particular Hotel many times and have never been disappointed , very clean , very organized staff , rooms that I have had were exremely clean throughout....Thank You for a great stay once again.

My mom and I spent two nights at the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the place is kept clean and the breakfast was great. Worth considering if you have a family or need to stay in the Ottawa / Gatineau area!

This hotel is dated but the spacious room featured a king bed, a large HD TV and internet. Everything was clean. I was greeted by Sherry on my check in and she offered great tips and suggestions for things to see and do in Ottawa. It was conventiently located a short distance from my conference venue and my daily commute was 12-15 minutes by car. The drug store across the street is open 24 hours and offered lots of variety for snacks and beverages. The hotel features Cafe 1274 offering great meals and a well-stocked bar. It would have been nice to have a voucher for breakfast before heading out to my conference and exploring the city but prices are reasonable. I'll be returning to Ottawa on business and I'll definitely be staying at the this Best Western again.

Great food. Like really really good. Not many hotels at this level have food at all. Bar and Restaurant close by 10pm which is great because it keeps the crazies away but allows guests a nice night 'in'.

I found my experience extremely satisfying. The room was quiet in order to get some work done. For leisure there is a good restaurant on sites and grocery stores and retail stores all within walking distance. The OC Transpo public transportation system is close and very efficient - affording me a chance to visit various parts and neighbourhoods of Ottawa with ease

Stayed for business. Quick and efficient check in. Very friendly agent who offered a variety of suggestions of events happening in the city that weekend. Was quietly able to do work in the hotel room. Quick and efficient check out.

This Best Western Plus hotel exceeded our expectations. We were greeted with smiles and an eagerness to be of help. The queen beds and pillows were very comfortable and the room itself was super clean and very comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay there again when we are in Ottawa/Nepean.

Had stayed here several times before, the last time three years ago. Arrived this time to find a totally remodeled and very comfortable, modern hotel. Gone is the stinky pool, the freight elevators and the horrible breakfast buffet.

It is located a bit far from the dt ottawa but it's ok cuz we drove there. It is also quiet at night. It provide enough parking lots for free. Its service and cleanness are better than my expectation for this price. I didn't feel itchy like every time I slept in Sheraton. Front desk people are very friendly.

First time at Best Western Plus in Ottawa and was very happy. Close but not too close to city centre. The Cafe was really good for dinner and breakfast. The Cobb salad was amazing and standard breakfast of bacon and eggs also very good.

Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly and so helpful. Wonderful stay and looking forward to go back.

Awesome staff and rooms. You really feel comfortable in this place. Staff are so welcoming, room and its kitchen are almost fully furnished and very clean, with a good restaurant menu. It is located at the heart of the city with easy access to East and West, just several km to the city attractions and dinning streets. Not to mention, a food basics in neighbourhood is a plus.

I was dissatisfied about the front desk service. I asked to get fix the issue with the toilet for the second time in 2 days. The problem got temporary fixed the first day. I was severed with a quick positive response from a young, smiling and courteous staff member. I wasn't to bothered when I found out that the problem wasn't completely fixed at my return to my room the same day. The second day, the toilet was still broken and when I asked to get it sorted out because the smell in the room was getting bad, my family and I couldn't use the toilet and the celling fan wasn't working either. I was served with a "There is nothing I can do right now. Just shot the bathroom door and the fan will get rid of the sent". Of all 5 staff members that I have seen working there, the one that gave me that answer seemed to be older in seniority. The senior staff wouldn't believe me when I told her that the bathroom fan isn't working. The reason why I didn't give 1/5 review is because at the end, the toilet got fixed but I had to complain and mention multiple times that this is unacceptable condition plus I had to argue about it to get proper service.

triple check your rates on-line before committing. They will have many excuses why the rates change. Regardless that you have stayed there for 23 years and are a platinum member. Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre has changed for the worse. They use to be untouchable with their hospitality. There are other hotels that would love your business. Even Glo (Best Western) where i stayed the previous time due to sold out at my regular spot. They even gave me a Breakfast for the pricing i usually pay at BW Ottawa. Disappointing, after 23 year to be treated like this. From getting great rooms ( as per request) to getting what they give me, to over charging now. What Happened??

We needed a room with facilities for a disability, and our needs were supplied .The staff were very helpful and cheerful.. The room, clean and well supplied. The restaurants was adequate, not elegant dining, but friendly and the food was good.

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to The Ottawa Civic Hospital, where my father is ill. Our stay was almost a month in total, mostly just me but my sisters did join me at times. I stayed in a suite with 2 beds and a kitchenette, full size fridge and hot plate along with plenty of coffee and microwave. I liked that room service wasn't every day and you could schedule it when you needed. The beds are very comfortable and tv offers every channel available and Chromecast. There is also a laundry facility on site. The restaurant food and service was amazing, great menu and taste. Management went above and beyond to take care of me & my sisters when we needed a place to land. Thank you so much to all the staff and management. We will definitely see you again.

Wow! First time here and it was perfect. I just arrived on the go and there was some place left for the night for me. The service was very nice and friendly. The room was great and large. Love it. The bed was also very comfortable. A great place to stay in Ottawa.

The hotel was noisy and people talking loudly or playing music in the middle of the night! No respect for others that might have younger kids sleeping. I had someone at 2am talking loudly next door. The shower in the room wasn't working as it should be. I am not sure but this is the 1st time that my stay in a hotel wasn't enjoyable as I never had restful nights after having been out and about all day long visiting Ottawa. May be rooms need more soundproofing? Or get customers to at least have some guidelines when and when not to be loud?

I arranged a group booking for a soccer team (18 players plus their families, players are 16 years old). The group booking process was smooth, but I don't recommend this hotel for a sports team or a large group booking. There is absolutely nowhere in the hotel for a group to gather. One of the days we were there, they closed the pool because the phone lines were down so our groups had nowhere to go. The front desk was not helpful with trying to help us find somewhere to be. They also wouldn't open the conference room (which was NOT occupied), even tho that would have been perfect to accommodate our group. The lobby can only fit 5-6 people comfortable, so in the entire hotel there's no where for more people than that to comfortably gather. The rooms themselves were comfortable and clean. A few in our group had issues with their AC, but they got it fixed. One of our guests was incorrectly charged for an additional night, but was able to get it resolved. On top of the hotel being in an area that isn't very nice (not much around), my car was mistakenly left unlocked overnight and it was broken into/rummaged through by morning. Not a nice feeling! Overall I would never return with our soccer team, as it's a terrible hotel for a group. Also, breakfast was expensive and gross, and the waitress was walking around talking about how she was sick to her stomach and couldn't keep any food down which is really a terrible thing to when you're serving people food! I wouldn't return to this hotel on my own without a group but certainly not with a group.

VERY !!! displeased with the service I received!! I had an issue with my cards being overcharged called to correct it and the young lady was very rude!! I would consider myself to be very well traveled and the practices at this hotel leaves MUCH to be desired !!! If your customer has an issue with their bill it would be NICE to be courteous especially when I am looking at my charges and asking you to correct it!!! The extra attitude and unprofessionalism speaks volume i will never return. So, with that being said maybe the front desk girl and i remember names Kessie should be given a training !

Good spacious bedrooms and a nice restaurant. The hotel is near of theparc of commissioners the tulips's festival parc and not far from downtown too. Also a mall is around too. We really enjoyed our stay.

Always a great night's sleep. The beds here are so comfortable and clean. Always great when there is a good restaurant on site. This is a great spot to socialize, refuel and head to your room to recharge.

Highly unlikely I would return to this motel. Stayed 2 nights and was told my room would not be cleaned. Upon checking out I was shocked at how expensive it was. I asked why, they said, they charge more on weekends, what is happening in the city. This tells me they charge whatever amount they want.

Good location, friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms. Location was ideal for our requirements. My only complaint was that our room was not cleaned and restocked after the first night. We did leave the ""do not disturb sign" inside the door so I was a little disappointed to see this wasn't done, but not a deal-breaker

Check-in went swimmingly Tarundeep's assistance. Rooms were spotless and everything worked as it should. Our athletes got a good night sleep and we went out and brought home some OFSAA East track medals on the Friday. We'll be back. Good value for the money we paid.

The location as well is great there were nearby stores, food shop that you can visit. Only issue I had was the internet service, not strong signal. Was very close to the tulip festival that I went to.

We travel to Ottawa once a month to visit family and really enjoy our stay at this hotel. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff and a great on site restaurant. Free parking. Easy access to the 417 and downtown Ottawa. Minutes away from all the tulips near Dow's lake and the canal.

Room was perfect and hotel is well located for getting around the Ottawa area. Service was very good and restaurant was OK. Parking is free and easy. All in all I cannot say how the stay could have been better.

I would preferred to go to non company recomended hotel , than coming back here again., from queen bed I was transferred to double bed with terrible noise coming from the ice maker machine near to my door . ( move was due to cleanliness issue on the first room )

Good overall but we didn't have the best sleep. The mattress was very soft and squeaky. Also I don't recommend staying in a room close to an elevator. The walls are thin. I could hear everyone coming and going. The service was good and there were no issues with the internet.

I chose this hotel for its location and could not have been more surprised and pleased by the room, the staff, the cleanliness and comfort. The room was spotless and very well appointed. I was able to get extras and replacement for coffee, cups and towels whenever needed from a very accommodating and friendly staff. My only concern was the Smart TV was smarter than I am!

We stayed overnight because I had an appointment at the Heart Institute. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the young man at reception. He granted our request of a possible late check-out, in case the appointment lasted longer. He also arranged for a taxi to take me to the Institute. The hotel is well situated for an easy and fast access to the Civic, Institute. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We had a delicious dinner at the Café. Despite the lack of staff, the waitress was absent, we were well served. The gentleman who cooked and served was very friendly. My daugther joined us for a birthday celebration and was offered a piece of cake with candle.

We did not feel safe for our health or physical well being due to protesters of the "Freedom Convoy" staying in the hotel and not following COVID guidelines/rules. We heard some of these people mock another guest calling them "sheep" and laughing at them for wearing a mask. We encountered 2-3 staff members not wearing a mask as required in public spaces. We were in Ottawa to visit my father who is dying of cancer so his immune system is compromised so encountering these people during our stay added a level of stress we did not need at the time. We realize it is hard and really not the staff job to confront people not following COVID Guideline as that is not what they are paid to do. Not having security in the hotel to enforce the Guidelines and to make guest feel safe is totally inexcusable to say the least. Management would have known there were protesters staying at the hotel just by their actions and should have addressed the situation swiftly, especially given the premium price we paid to stay at this hotel. My wife and I travel quite a bit, have stayed at a number of Western Hotels and this is the first time in 25 years that neither one of us felt safe in a hotel.Out stay at this Best Western made an unpleasant situation even worse and it is not something we will forget.

Stayed at this hotel a few times it is quite and always clean. Convenient to a few store and restaurants. Quick check out and 20 minutes to west Edmonton mall . But outside of the city far enough that you don't get caught in the morning rush when leaving town

First time stay at this property. What a outstanding stay and experience for myself. Loved the following- Staff ( many) were amazing, gracious, friendly and welcoming to me at the front desk! Nice to come home vibe at this hotel. My room was very large and King size bed. Love the hardwood floors Also, ordered in room service (twice for dinner) and was extremely impressed with the quality and taste of the food . It was incredible !!! Fish and Chips are a must.

I recently needed to stay the weekend in Ottawa. Without a reservation the Best Western on Carling and Merivale easily booked us a room that night and extended it an extra day without any difficulty. I really liked that the room had the carpets removed, it really enhanced the clean feeling. The front check-in staff were very helpful. The room service menu was so affordable and yummy and checkout was easy.

We always stay at this great hotel when we go back to Ottawa to visit family. Great location on Carling Avenue. Easy parking. Great staff. The restaurant on site serves really good food. My husband is a retired chef and he loves the food! The rooms are clean and have great wifi. Nice decor. Comfy bed. Usually quiet. In the summer there is a fantastic outdoor heated pool to enjoy.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. We will stay again. It is clean, the staff are nice. The decor is very 1970's. But the rooms are nice. We wanted a room with a full-size refrigerator, it was Christmas so we were bringing prepared food and needed to store it. So we basically paid three nights for an upgrade room for one nights use. It is wintertime so snow, ice and salt gets tracked everywhere.

Since staying home due to pandemic is so boring during holidays and we missed our past yearly trip to Florida so much, we wanted to stay hotel away from home. We decided to go to Ottawa for 3 nights during Christmas days. This hotel was just perfect for our family with high speed internet, big screen TV, large room (two queen - kitchenette). We ordered foods from the hotel restaurant every nights. Food was great and internet speed was just perfect watching movies all day Christmas day. Our family enjoyed staying in the hotel.

We needed a Hotel close to the Ottawa Civic Hospital. Friends highly recommended the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre and my husband and I discovered why ..... it is literally a 5 minute drive to the hospital! The whole experience with the Hotel from beginning to end was exceptional. We'll definitely be back, even if we don't need the proximity to the hospital....

They were able to supply an efficiency room, even though the rooms were under renovation. The room I received had fridge, dishwasher, hot plate, microwave, utensils, dish soap. toaster, coffee maker and kettle.

We stayed here while visiting family in the Ottawa area. The room was super clean, quiet, completely dark at night for sleeping and met all of our needs. I stayed here for the second time recently. If you don't care about being downtown, this is a great option. With easy access to the highway, free parking, this location is very convenient. Staff was great, and the room appeared to have been recently renovated. It was very comfortable and clean. There is a restaurant on site, although I didn't take advantage of it on this stay. This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel. The first time was fine - it is clean, the food is good. The rooms are well kept - Having said that - it is incredibly noisy. Really noisy! Doors have been banging for over three hours - every five minutes or so. This is the last time for me in this hotel. I would not recommend it to anyone needing to rise early for an appointment -

After returning to Ottawa for a visit after a few years, we were so pleasantly surprised to see all the enhancements of this hotel. The lobby has a new look, our room spacious as always now has a brand new kitchenette with full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, cooktop (upon request) , dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. that you could possibly need. The room was clean, tidy and beds were comfortable and firm. My husband loved the spaciousness, painted walls, hardwood floors, kitchen. Our daughter loved the cubby for her clothes and rolling bag and organized her items. I just loved everything…the spaciousness, the cleanliness and that we easily plugged our 5 devices and there were enough plugs in the room! Great service at the desk by Sherry and Cafe 1274 by Raymond. Sherry entertained our daughter and Raymond always delivers such amazing meals and menu prices are just right. We had breakfast and it was great. We were in a hurry in the morning and the server made every attempt to get our breakfast to us and on our way as quickly as possible. Hallways are bright and it was very quiet overnight. The 24 hr. Shoppers Drugmart across the street is so convenient and has everything you need. It's a full service Shoppers and we made use of it. Awesome promos right now too. Great job! Looking forward to returning sooner than later!

I was looking for a place to stay while my dad was having surgery & chose this great hotel in the perfect location! Very clean , friendly staff and terrific restaurant conveniently located in hotel. It was aprx 15 minute walk to hospital and lots of other great amenities around too. Only thing I wished for was that it was pet friendly ... this would have changed my rating to 20 out of 5 stars !!!!

We stayed here on a visit to the area to see family and friends. The hotel was well situated for our visit. Check in was quick, efficient and professional and they even upgraded us to a Kitchenette Suite which was unexpected but very appreciated. The room was large, well appointed with everything you could need for one or more nights, including full fridge, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, kettle, toaster, iron and iron board...The room was quiet and bed was very comfortable. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to family and friends and look forward to our next stay.

The outdoor pool was a welcomed amenity during the heat wave! Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was quiet even though it was apparently fully booked. Would certainly book this hotel again but would look for a hotel with an indoor pool for a winter time getaway.

Our stay was great for the most part the staff were amazing. The rooms were clean and pretty standard. The pool was small but refreshing on a hot day. I would stay here again next time I'm in Ottawa The only let down was the restaurant one day the server was great friendly and the breakfast was great but on the second breakfast we felt the servers were ignoring us and the food was horrible raw potatoes and under cooked eggs. The servers didn't seem to care

Easy access and parking. Room had been recently renewed and was clean and comfortable. No breakfast included. Only 1 elevator but easy stair access.There is no daily room cleaning due to the virus situation, and I feel they should have thrown in breakfast to off set this.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly, professional and helpful with all of my requests. The hotel is close to whatever you might need as there is a shopping centre across the street. It's also the closest hotel to Ottawa civic hospital which is only a 15 minute walk down the street. It was also easy to find as I don't know Ottawa very well. I'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel on our way home from the East Coast. I would highly recommend it! Hotel is very clean and the room we stayed in had just been renovated. Beds very comfortable. Didn't get a chance to use pool but it looked very nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and even called our room to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay here again on next trip to Ottawa.

There is nothing special about the stay here. It was just a simple, run of the mill room. To me it wasn't worth $200+ a night. The staff were perfectly pleasant but one gentlemen we spoke to didn't seem to have much knowledge of local restaurants. Again, it was a fine stay but nothing that stands apart from any other Hotel.

Looking for accommodation that is away from the craziness of the downtown core, yet close enough that you stay sane? Look no further than Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre. For our first venture out since COVID shut down the entire country in March 2020, BW was a wise investment of our time and money. True to their word, the staff did everything to ensure our stay was safe and pleasant. We were fortunate that Cafe 1274 was open for indoor dining, so that our fears of crowded places was lessened drastically. The staff was pleasant and easy to talk to. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable in all aspects of our stay. And a 5-minute drive to the downtown core added to the value of the experience. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone.

the room we stayed in was newly renovated #423, spotless clean, amazing bed, great bar and restaurant in basement, so nice we booked extra night, taxis in parking lot, staff endlessly helpful and full of knowledge regarding Ottawa.

Stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions while in the Ottawa area. Employees were very accommodating and helpful - everyone from front desk, maintenance, housekeeping, server in restaurant. They were all friendly and welcoming making our time there very relaxing. Pool and fitness centre were great. Would definitely stay here again if we're ever back that way!

I stayed at the Best Western Plus from July 31, 2021 to August 3, 2021 for girls/friend trip. The hotel was approximately 10 min from the town and it was easily travelled to by public transport or Taxi. Due to COVID-19 the rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis but we were ok with that due to the fact that the room was very clean when we arrived. I do not usually take a bath in a hotel bathtub but I felt safe doing it here and I did as it was very clean. If we needed supplies we just we went to the front desk and they were happy to help and we received what ever we asked for. I would definitely go back to the Best Western Plus and I do recommend it when travelling to Ottawa.

If we remember nothing else about this hotel, we will remember the cordial personal service we received at the desk at check-in and check-out. We even got a follow-up call after our arrival to make sure that everything was in order. We received complimentary water bottles and hand sanitizers on check-in, and a very nice room upgrade. The room was great - roomy, clean, with extra comfortable bed and pillows, lots of desk space and bathroom counter surface. There was excellent water pressure in the shower, and it was great to have the conveniences of a mini fridge, microwave, iron, bedside clock, room safe and mirror doors on the closet. The lighting was poor around the coffee-maker, at least for reading instructions while making the first cup. One regret: we did not make enough time to use the pool... it was so inviting, looked clean and refreshing with lots of chairs or lounges. It might have been the highlight of this hotel! Towels can be had from the front desk. We found the hotel had different sections, so not easy to navigate as the halls zigzagged to get where you wanted to go. The convenient elevator near the front desk was out of service, so it was a further walk to use the working elevator. We found the parking spots very narrow. You could exit the vehicle just fine, but if you didn't have a hatchback or a SUV, it would be difficult to get luggage easily out a side door. The Wifi could be slow at times. It was difficult to adjust the A/C from the wall thermostat, as the auto or low fan blew equally hard and loud. Although the hotel is central, we could not see any touristy things that would be walkable. Across the road was a mini mall with Shoppers Drug Mart, a few small stores and a restaurant. The hotel is very close to major highways and roads -easy to get to where you want to go. We could see that some had brought bikes with them, a great alternative to navigate Ottawa. Breakfast is not included, but they had a small eatery in the basement. Very good food with a breakfast special for $10 plus tax. There were stairs to the place, as I did not see a nearby elevator. Overall, this is a hotel. I would definitely come back and would recommend it.

This hotel was excellent. Clean and very spacious room. Shower was magnificent. I'm looking to purchase one. Staff went above and beyond. Young fella (with ponytail) in the breakfast room was beyond excellent. Very patient. Even with the older couple that wanted everything NOT on the menu. Would absolutely recommend this hotel. Great job guys. One recommendation is put a coffee machine in the lobby. Would certainly help out the wait staff in the restaurant at breakfast time.

There are always pros and cons for a hotel and I'm very picky so here goes. Pros: the rooms were really nice and clean and comfortable. The food was fantastic at the Resturant for both breakfast and dinner but have a little patient in the morning there is only one sever but the food is worth it. Staff is amazing and everyone is friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was really clean and well taken care off especially during this time of covid. The pool… it was amazing. It was cleaned twice a day. There are chairs and loungers around the pool. If u want shade choose a place on the far side of the pool. You have to get a key card every day for the pool and they give u towels. It may take a minute to get use to the layout of the place but u do. For a place close to Montreal with an outdoor pool I'll Definately go again. Cons: there is one main elevator and a smaller one. If you have mobility issues ask if the main elevator is working because it was under construction otherwise you have to walk downstairs to the Resturant. The smaller elevator goes only to the rooms. The pool does not have a railing to go into the pool on the steps so again if u have mobility issues unless u can use a ladder at the far end it's hard. Oh and this is not a pro or a con for me but the hotel is in the suburb so you need to have a car to get around. Downtown is just 12 mins away and so are a bunch of restaurants so a car is a must. Besides that all was good. Definitely recommend.

Beds were not regular size queen .. they were double beds. Towels were very rough and smaller than most hotels. Location was off the strip 20 minutes away . Rooms are clean though. Good water pressure.

Between the excellent cleanliness, great food and availability of EV charge station, this is a go-to location for me when I stay in Ottawa. On top of that, the Chromecast support on the in-room TVs makes watching what I want to watch while relaxing so much easier.

We traveled to Ottawa this past weekend, July 16-19, to finally visit our family including our two granddaughters. We have stayed in the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre in the past so we were happy to return and were not disappointed. This is a nice mid-range hotel that features comfortable rooms and a welcoming staff. The Covid cleaning protocols in place are good and we felt the hotel was clean and well maintained. Note: During this time, there is no daily cleaning of the room due to the protocols when you are on a multi-day stay but towels and amenities are replaced easily upon request and garbage is removed daily. We would recomend this hotel.

Location - very good, Parking- free, Second visit here - first time was great 2 queen beds i believe in west wing on ground floor with lots of room, front desk went above and beyond during covid to help out with menus, flyers for food etc being not from area. Slept great. Second trip was supposed to be same style. 2 queen beds. corner room 117 ground floor certainly did not seem like queen beds. Much smaller then last time as well as room not nearly as spaciuos. Front desk not as pleasant this visit either. Yes I would try again, perhaps luck of the draw but I would want to see room.

After 38 years of travelling for work and many many hotels, this place is a gem! Excellent and friendly staff. Clean and well kept. Rooms are average but clean and the restaurant is very good for a hotel.

Wonderful hotel! We were there for a sad event, and the staff made it easier for us! The room was large with all that we needed! All was extra clean, and the bathroom large and comfortable! We will be back! Thank you!

Amazing experience at this hotel. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Manager Nicolas Glucksman went out of his way to ensure that our group's stay was perfect. Raymond owner of Cafe 1274 (hotel restaurant) and his staff are wonderful. Room service was fast, reasonably priced and delicious. Outdoor pool was clean and the perfect temperature for the weather. Great location for access with grocery store in the mall across and 12 to 15 minutes to Gatineau. We will be back!

Smaller hotel but good location, small shopping mall across the street. Great staff, very friendly and efficient. Excellent restaurant and good value — tried a lot of menu items. All were great. Highly recommend for the value and location (not downtown, just west).

I have avoided travel during COVID as much as I can. However, I have had to go to Ottawa a few times and picked my hotel carefully. This is a small, older hotel that looks and feels clean and fresh. I had no concerns about my health and safety based on all the work the hotel and its employees did to manage during COVID. What is really really great about this hotel is the consistently wonderful staff. Quick, efficient and friendly from the front desk to the maintenance staff to housekeeping. Keep up the great job!

We have experienced this hotel's hospitality several times over the past three months with one and two night stays. The staff are accomodating and friendly, difficult to do with the health and safety restrictions of Covid 19. The hotel is spotless and well maintained. Rooms have always been clean and properly supplied. The check in and out was efficient and reservations correct. The food from the hotel's kitchen has been excellent for breakfast and dinner. The staff and owner/manager of Cafe 1274 are friendly and always accomodating. Due to lockdown requirements only room service may be available. Our last visit breakfast was prompt, on time and beyond excellent, especially the poached eggs. Thank you Raymond! Best Western Plus is located in a convenient area with easy access to all of the City. Excellent value.

This is a great place to stay. Good restaurant on site. Alot of parking for all vehicle types. The beds are very clean and comfy. The internet works great. The ability to connect your device to the tv to play your own videos is great.

the hotel is close to the beautiful and large park, it's very close to shopping mall. the hotel room 212 is very clean, quite, and large room. i can easily drive from highway 417 to Ottawa downtown, or Montreal.

I stay here all the time when visiting Ottawa. The food is good. They're consistent, reliable, clean and you get good value for your money. The location is convenient with a fair bit of stores around.

Conveniently located easy access to highways and downtown just minutes away. The rooms are clean, well appointed and inviting. Prices are very reasonable, and the food is outstanding - in quality, taste and presentation - the Seafood Linguini is so flavourful one would think one was on an Italian coast. Covid protocols are strictly enforced, yet that never interferes with the friendly, courteous and professional service from all the staff. Mine was a work-related week-log stay and I would definitely book here again when coming to Ottawa.

Since I was attending one of the Ottawa hospitals, this close by hotel was exactly what we needed. It was extra Covid clean and bright. We were even allowed to check-in early without cost (probably because of availability, but who knows). We have stayed in Best Westerns across the States during our travelling days (hopefully soon to resume!) and I would say this was the cleanest BUT the only one that does NOT include a continental breakfast. It's always nice to at least pick up an apple or orange, yogurt and a tea or coffee to go. Not here though, very surprising.

Convenient location easy access to highway and just minutes to downtown. Spacious room, comfortable beds and pillows. Friendly staff make us feel so welcome, very clean room with a good size bathroom. Our first choice hotel whenever visiting Ottawa.

I called many hotels before settling on the Best Western. Firstly because they were very clear about their covid protocol, which was reassuring, and also because the staff was so lovely, especially Ameen (I hope I spelled that right) who answered all my questions patiently and was very welcoming.

Recommended over other expensive stays. The location is easily accessible and has lot of parking space. Front desk did try to give a little scare about the shutdown and covid restrictions in place but all with good intentions.

Enjoyed our stay there. Nice location with lots of different restaurants around in walking distance. Room was very clean and looked great. Staff was very polite and accommodating. Definitely would stay there again and highly recommended.

Without exception, every staff member I interacted with was very helpful and friendly. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The food was pretty good and prices reasonable. Everything was extremely clean. As I sat eating dinner I watched the server clean every S & P shaker, ketchup bottle, etc., whenever she took them from a table. They asked every person who came in to the restaurant to sign in and again, the pen was cleaned after each use. The room smelled fresh and clean without smelling like bleach or sanitizer. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Traveling during this time is challenging. And yet, the Best Western staff did everything they could to make me feel at home and to put safety measures in place at the same time. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a very positive experience in every way.

I recently spent a night at the Ottawa City Centre Best Western. As usual, staff were very pleasant and efficient. I felt welcome. Rooms are spacious, with very good internet, comfy beds and are spotlessly clean. Cafe 1274, on site, provided tasty food, at dinner (take out to covid lockdown) and room service breakfast - just as I had ordered it, and just right.

Traveling under duress to see a dying parent is difficult enough but traveling during Covid is that much more disquieting. We felt safe with the precautions the Hotel undertook and the staff were attentive and helpful.

My stay at the Best Western City Centre hotel was the best that I could expect, especially the with the pandemic happening. From the Front Desk check-in, to the quality of the room or the room service, everything was a good experience.

Clean, comfortable and wonderful staff. Very diligent with Covid. Room service only for meals, but awesome meals. Close to all amenities I needed for a week stay. Close to my work, best part was the staff, Thanks Sherry for making my stay a pleasant one.

My husband and I were recently called to Ottawa on a family emergency, and arrived at BWPOCC at 01:00 without a reservation, and not knowing whether we would need a home base for a few hours, or a few weeks. We were greeted by very empathetic staff who immediately addressed our needs. The room was immaculately clean, and the bed? It was the most comfortable mattress I have EVER slept on. Although not policy, our request for a (potential) late check-out was graciously accommodated, and last minute plans to extend our stay were happily met. Should we ever have need again, we will definitely book with BSPOCC.

We were delighted to find this gem a couple of years ago, and always make it our home away from home when we are in Ottawa. Every inch of this hotel is spotlessly clean, features spacious rooms, and is located within easy driving distance of everywhere we want to go. The beds and pillows are super comfy! We had a great sleep! They feature every amenity we could want for a short stay. The staff are invariably extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. Free parking is a great perk when staying in Ottawa! The hotel is very convenient to get to and from the 417. During COVID-19 the restaurant was closed, but the reception desk staff ordered breakfast for us from a local restaurant, which was delivered quickly and piping hot. On a previous stay we made use of the in-room fridge and microwave for snacks and quick meals. I would have no hesitation about recommending the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre. I've stayed there several times and have always left feeling like I got good value for my money and had a great experience.

Clean comfortable and overall very pleased with our 2 day stay. We have went to other hotels but this one has staff that makes you feel at home. We felt that this location gave us a bit of everything we could go in all directions and find something to do. We appreciated the warm welcome in our late arrival and we cant wait to go back again!!

I came to Ottawa for business and needed some accommodations on a budget. The Best Western Plus was one of the best prices in the city that worked for my location. I doesn't have a whole bunch of bells and whistles but it was enough for me to not distract myself with a hot-tub or pool. Granted they do have a pool but it is outdoor. The restaurant wasn't that great with food and the cost is high for the quality of food you get. It is more ideal to spend a few extra bucks and go to some authentic restaurant that knows their ish. Overall it was a good stay and relaxing stay. I stayed two nights. Had a room with two beds. That was ideal because they aren't providing room service to clean the rooms during this time so having the extra bed was ideal since I had a clean bed for each night. They could use some thicker comforters as they have thinner blankets for warmth throughout the sleep so it got a bit chilly, unfortunately. Fortunately i just used both blankets from both beds to keep warm. That ended up being a heavy blanket... Overall 3 stars because I went in with no expectations. I was looking for a 3 and I got it. Great customer service.

We decided to stay at the Best Western Plus Ottawa because of its proximity to the Civic Hospital. Upon our arrival, the receptionist welcomed us with the possibility of an extended check out. She was most helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and met the guidelines for safety in this pandemic time. Since the restaurant was closed, we ordered room service. Our meal arrived promptly and was delicious. The next day, while I took a taxi to my appointment, my wife stayed in the room. There was a coffee maker so her wait was enjoyable. When we left the hotel, the manager shared the possibility of a package for our next visit. We were relieved and happy with our decision to stay at this hotel.

This hotel is a great place to stay in Ottawa. The rooms are clean rooms and modern. The staff are always friendly. The food delivered from room service, is quick, well presented and tastes fantastic. The facility is clean and well looked after. When I am in Ottawa I always stay at the City Centre.

wonderful stirfry vegetable. chef found goat cheese in the kitchen for me. has almond milk available and gluten free bread as well. very professtional customer service staff. Was able to increase the heat to 23degrees for me. Laundry facilities made it easy for me to attend to my clothes. My home away from home. Highly recommend this hotel.

It's an older building, but still is nice and has all the amenities you need. I was able to easily take the stairs if the elevators were busy, and the free parking is a great convenience. The hotel is right by the highway so I was able to get back on to finish my trip, but far enough away it wasn't noisy all night. I had a great stay.

Nice hotel and modern places to stay. Was on the lower ground quiet room but if your looking for a view of the city, you should request for a higher floor. Everything was excellent and close to everything in the city. Comfortable mattress and nice modern bathroom.

From the reservation to the front desk and into our room; FANTASTIC! The front check in was easy and friendly. The rooms are extremely clean! It was very quiet and the beds are super comfortable. We will be staying there again for sure!

We stayed here for 2 nights and the room was clean. We arrived back at the hotel and realized that we did not have water bottles. So we called the front desk to ask if we could get one from them. They sent us to the vending machine with our credit card. I've never been to a hotel where they don't just offer a free water bottle especially after paying over 250$ for our 2 night stay.!

I stayed here for almost a week. I'd see spiders and beetle crawling in between places. The front desk worker and manager are so rude. Also it reeks of weed in the hallways. I don't recommend this place.

We stayed at the hotel for one night while we helped our granddaughter who attends U Ottawa. Very pleasant stay and in a great location. Lovely outdoor pool. Bed very comfortable and everything was very clean.

The rooms we're very good. The front desk was really friendly. The rooms where clean. had dinner in the restaurant that was attached the chicken fingers were amazing. I really enjoyed the pool everything was very clean pool the furniture they will maintain nice gardens and landscaping around it.

With Covid-19 protocols in place, the hotel does it best to have all staff and guests practice social distancing. The hotel is located just off the highway and provides quick access to downtown. The pool was clean and chairs were placed accordingly. There is a microwave and a fridge in the room and all lights and TV controls worked perfectly.

I just want to say and praise the team and general manager of this Best Western Plus. I was thrilled to see that lots of renovations have taken place here all the rooms are modern and have new furniture and new TVs. It looks like it was freshly painted! The check-in staff were really nice though they didn't recognize me for being a Diamond Elite Member which is the highest tier. I was not given extra points or any bottle waters or snacks at check-in. I asked if my family can be upgraded to the 2 Queen Suite with a kitchen and the guy said no. Even though it was available. That was unfortunate. Breakfast: There was none which Best Western Plus usually haves it really was a shame. Room: I did not like how the bath amenities are the public washroom style ones they got rid of the tiny bottles. I know they are trying to save money and the environment but these aren't really high quality and they look like someone tampered with them. I wish they can change back to the tiny bottles. Overall I was upset I was not recognize for having status and not upgraded to the suite. But the room was comfortable and I wish to stay here again when these changes are made!

I stayed at this hotel to visit nearby family. The hotel has very friendly and helpful staff who made me feel at home. The room was clean and comfortable. Slightly noisy air conditioner, possibly to block noise of traffic outside - there are some major roadways nearby. I'd recommend this place.

Sherry at front desk was very accommodating & made us feel very welcome. After we were in our room for a while, she called up & asked how things were going. We had a small issue with the air-conditioning not working properly. The gentleman that came to look at it could not make it work properly & called Sherry who came up to the room herself & was able to reset it for us. She's a keeper!

The hotel staff are always very friendly and helpful at this hotel. Although COVID made some amenities less available that was not a fault of the hotel. The food at the restaurant was disappointing. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay.

The hotel was average, if you stay with the Best Western chain then you know what to expect. They have a outdoor pool but as of May 2020 it is closed and probably will not open for the 2020 season, that also goes for the health center. There is a restaurant on-site, but some of the front desk staff aren't making people aware of this. looking around, if i was not previously aware there was a bar/restaurant onsite I would of gone somewhere else, not much in the way signage or advertising. Rooms are comfortable and decor is pretty up to date. but the shower/tub are a touch outdated and could stand to be remodeled.

Was here for a Hospital appointment & can't say enough good things about this staff - from email correspondence, check-in, early check-out, special requests & overall friendliness. Proximity to the hospital was why we booked with them initially but their customer service is why we'll return for our next appointment. Room was clean, comfy and quiet. Close to numerous amenities & of course the hospital itself.

Very comfortable king size bed, fell asleep right away. Didn't hear neighbors, internet was fast and tv was big. The coffee was good and the bathroom was large. The shower head was a very nice massaging one with high pressure.

Our family of 4 came to Ottawa for the family day weekend and we could not have been happier with our choice.We booked our room with Corrianna and she took care of all the details and our room was perfect. We also had questions about how to navigate the train and buses and Crystal wrote it all down for us. Needs better management. I had the cops called on me over an 89 dollar charge that I was about to settle on checkout. Wasted 4/5 hours of my day. Missed some items when ordering room service, namely, water.

Room was spacious ( 2 adults and a toddler) and clean (facing the front parking lot), very convenient to restaurants and nearby sights We had breakfast included which was great and filling, overall this was a great stay and we stay here again on our next trip

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The one thing that annoyed me at night was the A/C. It kept making a strange sound every hour for a few seconds and since I am a shallow sleeper, I woke up many times.

My neice is attending university in Ottawa, so we're always looking for a great hotel for when we pick her up and drop her off at school. This hotel is easy to get to, spotlessly clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again.

Ideally located, comfortable & clean rooms. Couple of things the hotel should improve: 1) add complementary 2 water bottles per day. 2) switch the towel brand to softer variety - check the hotel series towels at Sams Club , why can't you use those and buy in bulk.

The facility is close to where they live, they offer many amenities on site and are close to a small mall, grocery stores and restaurants. Everything you need is close by, close to the highway. After a tiring long winter's drive I was greeted very warmly by the front desk staff. The room was very clean, comfortable, and with very good amenities. The staff in the restaurant was also excellent. This is the second Best Western Hotel I have stayed at in the past two months and both surprised me with their very good quality. I have already booked another stay at this hotel.

for business I usually stay at other chain hotel, out family had booked a function and so many stayed overnight. I booked early after signing up for BW rewards, a family member booked 2 days before and got a much better rate. I mentioned this at check in and Pierre the manager was able to offer us a better rate , similar to the "flash sale" rate offered days before

I was visiting relatives in Westboro and the Best Western Plus City Centre is extremely convenient to that area. Unfortunately, despite the whole hotel being non-smoking, my room smelled of cigarette smoke. I called reception to complain, and was given a new room without any trouble, and after only a short wait. My new room was clean, large and (thankfully) smoke-free. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, and everything in the room was well maintained and as it should be. The Best Western Plus City Centre has plenty of free parking, free wifi throughout, and the restaurant downstairs off of the main lobby provides breakfast, lunch and dinner, with standard menu items at affordable prices. I was happy that the smoky room issue was handled so efficiently, and would be happy to stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre again.

We were staying at a different hotel and were treated horribly - we booked here last minute and arrived within 15 minutes of booking. Very grateful to the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcome! The property was in a very convenient location, was very clean, and the staff was warm, friendly, and kind!

It was incredibly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms didn't have carpeting, which is great for people with mold, asthma, allergy issues. The rooms were big. The floors were spotless in the entrance, even though it was miserable outside.

Clean, large, updated and comfortable rooms. Nice toiletries. Lots of free parking, Pleasant staff. This is a no frills hotel, but for its type, it is very satisfactory. We just needed to be in Ottawa for 1 night and it suited the purpose. Basic shopping mall across the street.

It was easy to reserve a room. I appreciate that Long lineup at check in. I was surprised they didn't mention a credit card security deposit would be required at check in. Another surprise was that guests must have a credit card to be allowed to use a room. My room is very clean. It will serve well for two nights.

Could have been nicer at check in. Did not allow me a copy of my own signature without manager's approval. Told me that the requests I made online (rollaway cot) were never made. When we requested aid to open the sofa bed because it was put away incorrectly, the gentleman sent was prompt, helpful, and apologetic for the condition of the cot.

I stay at this location a lot - the quality of service is always high, the rooms are clean, and the price is very reasonable. The internet speed is also usually very good, and there are nice tvs in each room.

They refused to reverse the $200 hold on my credit card and after 4 days it was still not removed.Hotel Manager was rude and insolent and refused to consider my request to remove the credit card hold even though there were no charges against it. Hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable

Even after multiple calls on multiple days prior i was still given incorrect information and then made to feel responsible for their mistake. After driving for 5 hours i had to spend a full 2 hours at the desk trying to figure out what to do and what they were allowed to do. Im in a wheelchair and the desk was so high i couldnt see people at all unless i backed away a bit. The doorways were too narrow for wheelchairs to maneuver easily. Our room was at the end of the hallway. When we entered the AC was on full and it was freezing. We turned it off. A few minutes later we realized why it had been on. They were wallpapering or something and the fumes were so bad and made us feel awful. We did ask the workers to stop. I was out for a few hours at night and came back to sleep. I brought my sister to the airport very early. Had breakfast. We were given 2 vouchers but i also ended up paying $30+ on top of that and i didnt know why but the waitress was alone and the restaurant full so i couldnt ask. We went to check out and i ended up spending over an hour at the desk again. They told me i had a room charge for breakfast and tried to make me pay for a third time. Once that was resolved i was told that l had to have my sister's credit card to refund the deposit money. I said that i thought they were only supposed to place a hold but they said they charged it so they had to refund instead of release. With my sister already on her flight to Halifax i said that wasnt possible. Finally i convinced them to refund on my debit and then i would etransfer to my sister. After all of that i drove another 5 hours home. Time driving: 10 hours Time driving in Ottawa: 2 hours Time at concert: 3.5hours Time at front desk: 3.5-4 hrs Time in room: 5 hours I was and am so unhappy. I certainly will not stay in that hotel again.

We were pleasantly surprised that the room had been updated. No carpeting (yeah!) beautiful bathroom counters and furniture. The bed and pillows were so comfy. A relaxing way to end each day. All of the staff were helpful and very friendly. The dining room was lovely. We enjoyed our breakfast there. We have family in the area and are delighted that we have found this great place to stay. We will be back!

I made the reservation on your website and it wasn't mentioned that visa debit card was not accepted for the security deposit. In 2019 it's not acceptable. People need to have the choice and more and more people do not use credit cards anymore. I was able to do the deposit with other hotel brand with my visa debit. When I got to the hotel, even an exception couldn't be made. Then it should have been clear on website when we made the reservation. We had to call someone else that we know to come to the hotel and make the credit card deposit for us. This was the first and last time in this hotel. People need OPTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at this hotel for the first time recently and found the front desk staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. They volunteered to help with restaurant recommendations at a local restaurant and made the reservations at a very nice restaurant. The hotel is conveniently located just off the main highway in a good part of the city. The room was very modern and clean with all needed amenities. Will definitely stay at the Best Western Plus, Ottawa City Centre again!

Only one night stay. Staff is helpful, the property is clean and provided complimentary parking. This allows us to get to most district of Ottawa within short period of time. We loved the location and appreciate the West Gate mall within walking distance to the accommodation.

This was perfectly located for what we were in the Ottawa area for which was the Outlet Mall and Ikea. We only live about 2 hours from Ottawa so the only reason we were staying the night was for our daughter as she loves to stay in hotels and swim. Apparently I didn't do my research as it turned out the hotel only had a seasonal outdoor pool which was closed. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and we were able to locate a public pool which was only 3km away and cost us $7.50 for the 3 of us so it all worked out. Prior to all of this we were upgraded to a suite upon check in at no additional cost. This worked out great for us as we were able to get our daughter in bed and still be able to sit in the living room area and watch TV for a bit. Overall it was a nice hotel room and location for what we needed.

We stayed here because we were in a pinch – our Airbnb had fallen through at the last minute, and we didn't want to stay downtown, so the Best Western was our only reasonably-priced option. While our rooms were clean and comfortable, I have to say the neighbourhood is a little rundown, and there were some dodgy-looking characters lingering in the lobby. Despite having had great sleep, I probably won't stay there again.

This Best Western Hotel was totally decent accommodation however the price I paid was absolutely absurd for what it was. I spend more than 16 nights per year in hotel accommodation and this probably rates as the absolute poorest value place that I have ever stayed based on the cost. Yes our capital city however I paid a lot more for this than the Royal York Hotel in downtown Toronto just the week before.

I was very irritated to discover that “City Centre” meant out in the suburbs on a major highway. Also, in all the times I have stayed at a Best Western Plus in a variety of locations this is the first time a free continental breakfast was not included.

Quiet hotel, very well located for the motorway. We caught a bus (just outside the hotel) into town and it took half an hour to travel in. Friendly and helpful staff - I did have to sign my life away to get a kettle, but I did get a kettle, so all good. Breakfast was really good but, as you quite often get these days, the restaurant was not run by the hotel.

I have stayed at the Best Western on Carling in Ottawa 3 or 4 times now. I feel very comfortable there because they have a nice fitness center and a nice restaurant that serves a fine breakfast and also a nice beer at the end of the day. It is easy to hop on the 417 to get where I need to be during the work day and I can also quickly access any part of Ottawa or Hull for after work events.

I've always stayed at this hotel whenever I'm in Ottawa. The conveniently located hotel makes attending doctors appointments timely and less expensive in taxi fares to and from the hospital. The staff have always treated me with professionalism and kindness. My only concern is the price. I'm on a fixed income and the rooms are quite costly

I stayed here while my husband was in the Civic Hospital for an operation. It was such a relief to go to my room, close the door and hear nothing. Silence! No beeping machines, no one talking, not even any sounds of people walking by. And a warm comfortable bed, a wonderfully clean bathroom and excellent Wi-Fi service so I could update all my family and friends on the success of the operation. I would have happily stayed a few more days but I had to take my husband home!

Staff was great and rooms were clean and spacious and looks to have been recently renovated. There was no problems with the internet connection. The restaurant in the building was good with reasonable prices

1 night stay between visits. Check in was excellent . We arrived early and our room was not yet ready. The staff suggested a time for entry and suggested we call . Location was good for short term shopping and the room was more than adequate.

Clean property with good parking and services. Overall,it is a good choice if you want to be in the Ottawa area with good access to highways and it has reasonable prices and is near many restaurants, So quite convenient

This hotel is called Best for a reason. Best rates, service and staff...period! AND even though there was a minor set back on my fridge inside the room, it was still worth the stay as always! Would recommend this BW in the Ottawa area!

Location of hotel is very accessible, especially if one wants to visit more than the downtown core/parliament hill. Rooms are large, clean, comfortable and quiet. Amenities are above average with onsite restaurant/pub and other requirements within walking distance.

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Rooms are clean and newly renovated, with wood vinyl flooring (no carpet), which I liked much better. I did hear some slight noise from above, but it really was minimal and nothing to be concerned about (and I have very sensitive hearing).. And while the restaurant is downstairs in the lower level, its worth a visit as the food and service are excellent.

We stayed for two nights, August 9 - Aug 11. There is really nothing to complain about this best western. very clean, quiet and all check-in and check out fast and efficient. Only thing I would suggest, include breakfast in the price, because it is a little pricy. Rooms clean beds are big and firm. Bathroom nice and clean Tv selection is amazing. A lot of parking.

I had a very lovely time. The staff were over the top with their friendliness and attitude, very accommodating and welcoming; really seemed to enjoy their job. The room itself was very clean and spacious, coffee is available, as well as a decent view. Only disappointment was the lack of continental breakfast. Very easy to maneuver through the hotel, felt very clean. Would also have liked recommendations for the area to eat, other than the hotel. Would definitely recommend

Visiting friends in Ottawa. Not right in down toen but convient to mosy attractions. Food was good and there are several local resturants close by. Rooom was clean and reception staff friendly and helpful.

We just got home from a 1 night stay in this hotel. We were in town for a concert and just needed a basic hotel without too many frills. This hotel seems to have been recently renovated and it looks great. My favourite thing was that there was no carpet in the rooms! I'm always irked by how they really can't clean the carpet and seeing hardwood/laminate in a hotel was very refreshing! The room was quite large, the bathroom beautifully finished and functional, the beds/pillows very comfortable and it was impeccably clean when we checked in. The lovely lady that checked us in, (Cheryl or Sheryl - I'm so sorry can't remember) was nice and helpful and within 15 minutes of leaving the lobby, called the room to make sure that we were happy with our room. We travel multiple times a year all over the US and Canada in varying tiered hotels and this has only happened maybe once before. We did have a quick breakfast with my daughters this morning, basic breakfast food, good service and very convenient as well as reasonably priced. The only thing I had a minor issue with is the air conditioning but it's just the kind of air conditioning and not a specific problem with ours. I hate those window units that just blow right onto the beds and if you have it on, then it gets too cool and if it's off then it gets too hot... not like central A/C of course. Did not have a chance to see/use the pool. Other than that minor issue, this was a lovely find in Ottawa that we will definitely consider for our next trip there!

Two weeks ago i stayed in the hotel and i had a problem with air conditioning, i called the front desk and the maintenance guy came in; he was trying to repair it. During the repair every two minutes he was blowing his nose. He did not even use a tissue and at the same time he had his hands on the air conditioner in and out, touching all over it. I saw that he even touched the phone and tv controller , once he blew his nose to the ground. On my enquiry He identified himself as the maintenance manager . in my perception this is highly unhygienic according to any hotel standard. So decided I'll never come or recommend this type of unhygienic hotel to any one I know of.

When we arrived, the room was ready but there was no Elite welcome package. The restaurant and bar is in the basement so the layout is not great. We ate dinner there as we were tired from the drive.Decent food. The room was clean and the king sized bed, other than tipping up when you sat on the edge, was very comfortable. It was a disappointment that you had to pay for breakfast. Not up to the Best Western's usual standards.

I sleep in a cold room. The temp control wouldn't drop below 20 which meant I didn't sleep well at all. I would have reported this but it was clearly a settings issue rather than a hardware issue. I stay at hotels often and use these controls frequently.

This hotel offered a great location and excellent price in Ottawa. The room was clean with comfortable beds. I loved the pillows! Breakfast was delicious. Easy access to the main highway through Ottawa and to events and local restaurants. Central location with plenty of parking.

The overall performance of the front desk was satisfactory. On my check out at June 30 Ms. Corriana Richardson was exceptionally out standing and remarkable to provide one of the best customer experience at the Best Westren's property. I was visiting Ottawa for the first time so was not familiar with the city. She was instrumental in providing me the information about the check out time, bus routes to the parliament hill, Canada Day celebrations and other relevant information which covers from Uber booking for multiple trips to visiting other points of interest in town. She arranged the storage of luggage after check out so I can pick up in evening. Kindly convey the compliments to her offer her the growth opportunities, because she is a brand ambassador of BW hotels

Excellent service. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. Restaurant on site made breakfast in the morning simple and at a reasonable price. The hotel is located close to the hospital which was very convenient for our appointments.

Power outlets at the desk station did not work, it made working very difficult. The thermostat for the temperature control had a preset minimum. The room was hot when I arrived and had to get the desk to send a "technician" up to change it. This doesn't make sense in summer months.

We enjoyed our stay at theBW in Ottawa to attend our granddaughter's convocation at Carleton U.but If I hadn't several reward points I would have seriously considered booking a less expensive location.The cost was the only negative factor .

We have stayed there 3 times over 3 years and it fits the bill. We have breakfast there and then tour museums. There is also a great bar/restaurant across the road. Ample parking and a pool. We actually use Aeroplan miles to pay for the room. It's been renovated and I would recommend it to any of my friends who don't need a five star...bit I think it is a really good 3 star...which is what it's meant to be.

On a recent bus trip we stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was stocked with Pharmacopia Natural Bodycare products. Our room was on the first floor. When we woke up in the morning and opened our curtains, there was a van parked within reach of our window. Needless to say, we kept our curtains closed at all times. The included breakfast was supplied by an outside contractor. It was very sparse and not very appealing: undercooked bacon, sausage, cold, unbuttered toast, coffee, and juice. That's it. No yogurt, no fruit, no cereal. Very disappointing. I would never choose to stay at this hotel on my own.

The reception staff at BW City Centre were outstanding in helping us to coordinate a family visit. They were most helpful in arranging different rooms for different members of the family. This is our go-to hotel because of its location.

This hotel was one of the best I've visited in a long time. The hotel staff were fantastic and energetic. Rooms were in great shape and the other features such as the restaurant, fitness room etc were amazing. It wouod be great if the swimming pool was active since we are paying so much money to stay at this hotel with this service but with that said the hotel was great.

We travelled seven hours last minute for an emergency trip to Ottawa to visit a family member who was quite ill in the hospital. The nearest hospital was the best Western. When we arrived at the front desk we were greeted by a very friendly woman named Sherry. After hearing the reason for our trip she went out of her way to help make our stay a comfortable one. We received a discount due to our family medical emergency. We met a lovely gentleman who served us named Jory in the lounge. He was very compassionate and helped us to just relax and have a bit of a good time under such stressful circumstances. I would definitely recommend this hotel it was clean,very close to the hospital and the downtown tourism area although we didn't end up staying long enough to enjoy the beauty of Ottawa.

This place is great value. The hardwood floors make the rooms feel much newer and cleaner. Staff were extremely friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised but the overall quality of this stay. Hotel is easy access from the highway. I would definitely recommend staying here

We went to Ottawa on a mission - museums and dining, but first things first ... accommodations. We opted for the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre because 1. it was the first hotel we came to when we excited of the 417 (on Carling Ave) and 2. it seemed central to all the sites we planned on taking in. The hotel itself is in good condition. The room was clean and carried that new mattress smell. Great selection of pillows for those who find it hard to get comfortable. Amenities included elevator, wi fi, central heat/air, face soap, shampoo/conditioner, body cream, hair dryer (check behind the bathroom door.) TV is cable(?) with a fair selection of programs. Our television had its own agenda and seemed to turn off at will. Room 124 - you might want to check that. The room was made up daily with the exception of the last day we were there. I was asked by housekeeping in the morning if we had enough towels, etc. to which I replied yes, thinking that our room would still receive the usual care. We returned at the end of the day to an unmade room and a note on the floor that said "Dear Guest ... Our Housekeeping Department attempted to enter your room for service today but you had a Do Not Disturb sign on your door." Uh, nope. Not true. I don't mind an unmade room, but, what I do mind is a note that provides an excuse that just wasn't so. BW, you may want to revisit this. The in-house restaurant was good. The service was great and the staff even better. The front of house staff was a bit guarded but very friendly and professional. Parking is ample and easy to access off of Carling Ave. The location was great. Museums, Little Italy, and other sites were all within 10-25 minutes from our door. Overall, it was a good stay and, due to its location, most definitely an 7.5 on my Willbeback-o-meter.

Very accommodating staff! Excellent rates in March. Very clean room, fast room service. Our favorite place to stay in Ottawa. Fast and efficient check in/out. Lots of free parking. Beautiful outdoor pool and deck area.

Our family group chose this hotel because of its proximity to Ottawa Civic hospital and we are all very pleased. The hotel is not a new building but is well maintained. We were happy to hear that all mattresses and pillows were replaced in 2019. Our rooms were very spacious, the bathrooms are spotless and the shower was great with good pressure and the water instantly hot. Front desk was very helpful. If you need a safe in your room , be aware not every room has one, despite what the hotel website says.

Not impressed nor can I recommend this hotel. It was dirty, smelly, noisy and no where near what is advertised online. Will never stay at the BestWestern on Carling ever again. We always stay at BestWestern whenever possible but this was not the experience we usually have.

The hotel is easy to find and access. There is ample parking. The check in staff were fast and friendly. The room was clean and the fine for an overnight stay. But like any other Best Western the coffee in the room was bad.

Came to Ottawa to check out Carleton University. Very close to University. Front desk was extremely helpful when we wanted to check out the city. Cafe downstairs was great. Enjoyed the pool table one evening also. Clean room.

I stayed here for 3 nights and I had a boardroom for meetings while I was here and the staff were great! They were very attentive and helped with every request I had right away. The rooms are clean and the restaurant had great food at great prices!

We felt special from the beginning of our stay to the end. The hotel has a beautiful renovated lobby with lovely seating, and computers - all free to use for guests- surly can make you feel like you're at home. The room was lovely, super clean with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, and love the pillows! The television had all the comforts of home, Netflix, Google chrome, movies etc. Bathroom was spotless, and the massaging shower head was such a pleasure to use. Reception (Sherry) was very helpful in directing us to nice restaurant for dinner, so we have great night out as well (Café 1274 has excellent food and a great staff. Weather was rotten so we didn't want to leave the hotel). One night, we tried food room service as well and in 20 min the food was delivered to our room! So happy with our stay that we were sad to leave! Chrystal who checked us out was very sweet and friendly. Overall I had best stay ever in Ottawa, and definitely will back to the BW Plus Ottawa City Center.

Jory and Troy are the best. They are always happy and go way beyond what is the norm at regular motels. A raise would also be warranted no matter how much you're paying them now cause it's not enough. We went to Ottawa and stayed here because it's only 1 km from the Civic Hospital and our daughter was giving birth to our first grandchild there. We spent 3 nights at the hotel and love everything about it and we are hard to please. It's not real fancy but who really needs that when everything is done so right.

We selected this property based on our it's location and Trip Advisor reviews. It was ideally situated for our purposes and it was nice to avoid downtown traffic and hotel parking fees. This property had free onsite parking. We did not spend much time in the room but found it to be well maintained, nicely decorated and of good size. It is interesting to note that the rooms have laminate wood floor covering. Some might not like it but I found it preferable to stained carpets. The hotel also offers a surprisingly good restaurant. We only had breakfast there but the food and service were lovely. It offers a full a la carte menu. Throughout our stay we were impressed by the hospitality and good nature of the staff. We would definitely stay here again.

The rental space is large, open and bright and can be set up in multiple different combinations to fit your needs and at a comparable price that mimics the cities rental space prices and an abundance of parking. The Best Western Ottawa City Centre is perfectly located in the centre of the city and directly off the Trans-Canada Hwy exit. It is located immediately across the street from a mini mall that contains shopping, food and a pharmacy. Also close to grocery stores and the Ottawa Civic Hospital. This space is perfect for large group events and rentals.

Comfortable beds, convenient to all points in Ottawa, clean and good to come ba k to after a long tiring day . In mid winter , having a good restaurant downstairs was a treasure .The elevator had to be reset too often , and we had long waits sometimes , or just climbed the stairs . Update the elevator .

Room was clean, comfortable, looked like it had been recently upgraded.Front desk staff was efficient, professional, friendly.Reservation staff were excellent in ensuring a fully-accessible room for one person with very very limited mobility was guaranteed in advance.Restaurant was a very pleasant surprise--I am not a fan, generally, of in-hotel restaurants. Food was not fancy, but very good, well-cooked, very well served. Our server for dinner in particular handled all five of us with efficiency, helpfulness, humour, and professionalism--handled our young nephew like a peer, which was very nice, as he's a very bright and "old" kid.We had dinner, brunch, and breakfast in the hotel, and all were quite good.Would definitely stay here again.In addition, location is quite close to the Civic hospital--we were down for a medical purpose.

My boyfriend and i missed a flight to Cuba so we decided to stay at a hotel in Ottawa. I am a member of another resort facility in Florida so they recommend I stay at this hotel. The Hotel was great the staff even greater. We were treated with nothing but respect and quick and friendly service. The hotel is clean and very close to the downtown core. I would recommend a stay here.

We spent Dec. 30th to Jan. 1st at the Best Western City Centre and were vary pleased with our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and the desk staff were lovely. As Best Western Plus members they sent us on the way with a choice of snack and beverage. Very thoughtful!

Clean spacious hotel with ample parking. Would stay again! Extra towels, free pack n play. Good location close to Canadian tire center and downtown Ottawa. Computers with printers in lobby were great.

We have stayed here a number of times while visiting friends and family in Ottawa. It's a clean, well-kept place with pleasant staff. We only use the basics when staying in a hotel, and it provides all those plus computers in the lobby -- that came in handy when we had to look up a number and address we had forgotten to bring with us.

room was comfortable and had everything we needed and nothing that we didn't. Housekeeping staff was friendly, helpful and eager to please. Restaurant on site, which we didn't use. 24 hour Shopper's Drug Mart across the street which we did use. Had some trouble with heat/cooling - when we turned the heat down, the ac came on. Not ideal in December, but we adjusted rather than call front desk, which is what we should have done.

Cozy, clean, and on bus routes that take you downtown. Make sure you have plans to eat out on Christmas Day, but other than that you will be very pleased by the spacious rooms and the personal attention of the staff.

Nice clean, comfortable room, not humid or stuffy. Carpet free, plenty of storage drawers and pull out coffee/tea center which tucks out of the way when not in use. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Reasonably priced at a great location, close to universities, highway, restaurants and shops. Plenty of parking.

We stayed in a studio apartment for over 40 days while our house has been renovated. It was a pleasure to be there enjoying nice and clean room with kitchenette, free parking, friendly and helpful staff, and a good breakfast. It became our home away from home. Location is excellent. Highly recommended.

Clean rooms, great service, good price, incredibly fast internet! I have stayed at this location about 15 times in the past year and the experience is always good. The rooms don't have any carpet which is a huge plus

Staff were friendly on check in. The room was very clean but most impressive was the a 55" TV with multiple sports channels. The bed was very comfortable. I was in Room 111 which was close to the pool and high traffic area so if you do not have children go to the 2nd Floor. The only thing was why use plastic glasses. Otherwise everything was great.

I staid two night in this good standard hotel. It was close to the venue, where I had my business to do (Agriculture Canada Ottawa - just down the road 20 min walk). The room was clean, with two king-sized beds, a desk and 2 chairs, a bathtub with a shower. The good breakfast was served in the restaurant. I ordered a salad one evening, which was good and served quickly. A good standard business hotel, which served my needs well.

We booked this hotel very last minute as we were passing through and finding new places to explore. Corianna checked us in and was absolutely amazing! We had never been to Ottawa and she took SO much time going over all the fun things there were to do nearby as well as explaining the best ways to get around. She gave so many fun suggestions we debated staying longer just to see more! We definitely plan to go and see more thanks to her! She was better than any tour guide, so full of knowledge and extremely welcoming! I, unfortunately, did not catch the name of the waiter we had downstairs at the hotel's restaurant but he was running the bar and dining area but he was great too! So friendly and definitely made sure everything was great and that we were having a good experience even though it was late and getting relatively close to closing (about an hour or so before) he did not rush us at all and made us feel very welcome. My only complaint is that in the morning when we were grabbing breakfast before we checked out the staff(who were a bit younger 18-early 20's) in the restaurant was not very friendly and was kind of rushing us out, they were clearing our table while we were still eating and using things. Other then that batch of employees they were great and I loved everyone I dealt with the first night there! Thanks for a great stay!

My daughter and I were booked at this hotel for almost 2 months while our flooded apartment was being renovated. The majority of our stay was in a room with 2 double beds. Later, we moved to a room with 2 queen beds, a separate living area and a fully equipped kitchen. It provided us more space and was a much better long term accommodation for a family. It was also a corner unit on the top floor so it was large and quieter. The front desk staff were amazing and so was Jory in the restaurant. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. The in-room internet was fast and easy to connect devices to for streaming. There's a lounge area in the restaurant, a fitness center as well as an outdoor pool for the summer months. Stephanie in Guest Services was very friendly, attentive, understanding, knowledgeable, extremely helpful, reliable and efficient. She accommodated my requests and went beyond expectations — from flexible extended bookings, dealing with my incompetent and unreliable property manager for insurance purposes, providing a bigger bar fridge the same day when I mentioned the mini fridge smelled bad, to ensuring we could stay in the same room until I inquired about a room with a kitchen to which she had ready for me to move to that same day. She made a very stressful situation much more manageable and even pleasant. She was amazing and our stay would not have been as great without her help. Corrian and Crystal in Guest Services were also very sweet and understanding. Corrian showed my daughter and I which neighbourhood area we could go trick or treating at for Halloween. She was always smiling and friendly. Crystal was also very nice. She processed our final checkout and we had a great chat as she sympathized with us while we vented about the recent chaotic months. The manager, Adrianne was also very kind and reassured us that they are all there to help if we needed anything, Last but not least is Jory in the restaurant. We met him when he brought us room service a few times. In addition to having a great personality and being super sweet, he provided exceptional service. When we didn't have a kitchen, he brought us extra dishes and cutleries we could use in our room. We liked him so much, we played billiards in the lounge area of the restaurant so we could say hi and chat with him. We even stopped by to say bye to him when we finally left the hotel. The excellent customer service provided by the staff made this lengthy stay a wonderful experience where we felt cared for and were almost a part of their hotel family. They do their job well as expected but more importantly, people who show they care and go above and beyond what's required of them are more often rare to find but highly appreciated. We are very thankful for them.

We arrived early after a three hour drive as tired senior citizens. Crystal, sensitive to that arranged to change our room so that we could register immediately and maintained our request to be close to an elevator as I use a cane. Sadly, our reception at 2:45 at the restaurant/bar was not welcoming. We were told that we could order but that we would be asked to leave at three o'clock when they closed. The thought of eating and drinking in the lobby or gulping it in 15 minutes was NOT welcoming. Cloning Crystal would be our suggestion. In fact, we decided to refrain from breakfast and less conveniently stopped elsewhere on our drive home. Our accomodation was adequate, clean, warm and all that we needed. It is close to things one would want in Ottawa's west end. The price was very reasonable. Had the unwelcoming attitude in the basement restaurant been more welcoming, we would not hesitate to register there again as we visit Ottawa frequently. This is going to sound ridiculous... this small Best Western in Ottawa, which isn't really downtown is my new favourite hotel. I travel a lot for work, staying in Intercontinentals, Mandarin Orientals etc etc, but this one wins hands down. Why? 1. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Checking in was even fun. 2. The rooms are spacious and clean, and quiet. Not fancy, not flashy, but what you need. 3. The gym is huge for a hotel of this size and is not full of sweaty muscle men - nice change for a woman travelling alone 4. The food was amazing - really fresh. Again, not flashy or gourmet but really great basics 5. Prices are really affordable. $10 for cooked breakfast? 6. Restaurant staff are so friendly. And the place is so unintimidating...there were four women separately dining alone. So nice to feel completely comfortable. Great stuff, I'll be back for sure.

I like this location as it is close to hospital when my husband has to go to appointments and close to shopping, There is a drugstore and little mall shopping mall across the road. The staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant has very good food and good staff there as well

We stayed at this Best Western during the recent tornadoes. The staff did all they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible while the power was out. Thank you! The only thing we would recommend is that when the tornado siren sounds, to inform customers about what to do and to discuss the possible impact on the hotel. The staff told us that the siren was a tornado warning for "tall" buildings which turned out not to be true. Our room was clean and the lobby was nicely decorated. The front entrance was being renovated while we were there. The adjoining restaurant had excellent food and was very convenient. This hotel is very easy to get to from Highways 417 and 416 and it is easy to get to the downtown. We'll return.

Really love this hotel. The staff is so friendly and makes you feel welcome. There have been a lot of updates recently completed in the hotel and it looks great! They also have chrome cast TV streaming which is a great bonus! Very clean, and modern! The restaurant is delicious, with an awesome breakfast! Would recommend!

I stayed at this hotel during a very challenging time. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Above all though the staff went out of their way to make us as comfortable and welcome as possible. Especially the reception staff. I also need to make a special mention to Jory who works in the restaurant and bar. He went out of his way for us. Thank you to every single one of you.

I did not book a room before arriving in Ottawa, not expecting the hurricanes and Hydro One, but staff at BW Plus worked to help me find a room. Rooms are excellent and lots of amenities right in the hotel. It was a great experience and recommend for anyone

I think I may have accidentally reviewed this hotel instead of the Downtown Suites property on Gladstone. This review is definitely for the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre. While the Downtown Suites property is very nice this place is somewhat questionable. I booked it by mistake as I THOUGHT I was booking Downtown Suites. While I won't say I was sorry I did I will say there are some differences. On the positive side it was less expensive due to it's less advantageous location (8 KM's from Byward Market) and the parking is free while you pay for the parking garage at the other location. Considering we were meeting our kids in downtown it wasn't bad as we drove in and parked for $7 for the entire day in the Byward Market vs. $20/day for parking at a downtown hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room was reasonably clean. The hotel is going under a renovation of sorts. I say "of sorts" because they certainly seem to be doing it half way. The common areas aren't bad but certainly nothing special. The room seemed to be recently renovated but again only part way. Some of the really ugly architectural finishes remained and much of the workmanship was poor. I have been in construction for 30 years and have been involved in many, many commercial revitalization projects. If we tried to get away with some of the crappy work like I saw we would have been called out. Maybe I am too sensitive to this kind of stuff but I found it pretty bad. I found it weird that they would replace the flooring, (albeit pretty poorly and with cheap materials) only to leave these ugly, yellowed plugs and switches on the wall. They look terrible- like they had been in a smoking room for the last 40 years. The lamp in the corner was broken and would not turn on leaving the only place to sit and read in a chair where there was an ultra bright ceiling fixture by the window. While there appeared to be a new thermostat the heat/cool unit looked kind of old and where it plugged in was an absolute mess in terms of the wall finish. The bathroom mirror had flaws in it and the paint job on the inside of the bathroom door was really beat up. The shower was somewhat dark and the shower head is pretty low- I am 6' and it was just to the point where I didn't have to bend down a bit. I basically had to shoot it straight forward so I could stand up straight. The handle for the shower faucet was installed reversed in our unit. Another strange thing- if you wanted cold water to drink you were out of luck. I let the faucet run and only got barely above room temp water. I can't figure out why that would be. As a final note, they have permanent shampoo & conditioner dispensers in the shower. Ours were both conditioner. We went to the front desk and got some separate small bottles of shampoo and were told that housekeeping would rectify the problem the next day. It did not happen. Not a big deal- just annoying. There is no free breakfast but there is a full service restaurant. We did not use this. I am not saying I would never stay here again but I would be hard pressed. If I stayed out of the downtown core I would definitely look elsewhere.

We gave up living in darkness for 2 days and went to a hotel. Thank goodness Best Western was open, had regained power and had 1 room left, so we got the last room available! After a very friendly and swift check in. We headed to our room and turned on the TV to see to our astonishment that there had been a tornado! No wonder we had had no power. We then wanted to get some hot food. We found friendly service at the dinning room as well. We had a late breakfast of very good scrambled eggs and a delicious mushroom omelet, hot coffee and tea. Both were HOT - first hot meal in 2 days. After returning to our well appointed room, my husband had a little nap while I attempted to take a bath but I could not get the plug to work, so we ended that we both had a HOT shower. Dinner was lovely, baked salmon with rice and liver and onions (when I am out I will order this). We had a nice bottle of Pelee Island Malbec to go with our dinner. Back in the room for more news and a good night' sleep. The bed was only a double and very short, so a good night's sleep was not that night. Thank goodness the power was restored to our area and we were able to return home.

We arrived the day after a tornado had hit the region and the hotel only had power at the front desk. They were very good about reassigning us a room on the main floor so that my pregnant wife would not have to walk up the stairs (elevators out due to power blackout). They were also passing out flashlights to guests. Luckily, we were not at the hotel half and hour before the power came on, so we avoided having to spend a night without electricity. Given all of the chaos that such an event causes, the front desk staff were coping surprisingly well. Our room was fine, perhaps not the most up to date, but it matched what we were paying. The pool was closed, I assume due to the power situation. My only complaint was the safe in the closet was temperamental. It usually needed the code entered three times before it would open.

Rooms not very clean, the halls are very noisy through the night, plug broken in bathtub, Breakfast very expense for what you get. People in the hallways talking loud at 1 a.m. in the morning, then slamming doors in the hallway until at least 3 a.m.

The hotel has all the basic needs it is clean and comfortable, perfect for business travel or quick stay.If you are looking for luxury this is not the place if you are looking a nice clean place with everything working then this is the place, I will rate this hotel as a solid 3 star with amenities

We have never been disappointed in the many times we have stayed at Best Western City Center in Ottawa, and this time was no exception. The accommodations were very comfortable, clean, and quiet. And the staff is warm and welcoming, as if returning to a favorite friends house. We use Best Western in our travels if at all possible. Evelyn, Arizona

The motel was located close to the jobsite but somewhat difficult to get into and out of because of traffic. Their resturant was new or recently refurbished located in the basement accessible by stairs or elevator. There were other eateries in the area as well as a convenience store but no beer or wine.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and I was checked in very quickly. The hotel has the best TV and remote I have ever experienced. The remote works with just one tap on a key. Every other hotel has, what seems to be an old fashioned and not very sensitive remote.

We stayed here not wanting to deal with the chaos and lack of parking in downtown Ottawa. The rates were good, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant is descent and there is free parking. There isn't anything to see within walking distance but the bus picks up very closeby and Uber is a great way to get to downtown. There is a small strip mall out front with a Shoppers etc. We enjoyed our stay and I will be back when I need to stay in the Ottawa area again.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for two nights as we were in town for a friends wedding. Everything was going smoothly until the second day (a Saturday). We ordered room service for lunch as we were getting ready for the wedding. My partner ordered a burger and after eating half of it, took the bun off and found a fake diamond that probably came from an earring or a necklace. We called the restaurant and asked for the burger to be taken off of our receipt - I was told they would call the room back in a few minutes but they never did. We had to ask the lady at the front desk to reconcile our bill when we were checking out the next day. They did take the charge off of the bill, but not one person apologized for the incident. The other issue we had was that we were on the ground level and there was some type of event in the conference rooms below us in the basement on Saturday night. We could hear people on microphones until 3:00 in the morning which didn't allow us to have a good sleep. The rooms are not very sound proof for this. I'm sure if we were on a higher floor, we wouldn't have been bothered. The swimming pool was located right outside of our room and we could smell cigarette smoke most of the night. I'm not sure if people were smoking by the pool or inside the hotel, but it definitely smelled gross. The staff were nice at the front desk and the room was in okay condition, but I will definitely look for another hotel the next time I'm in Ottawa and I will let friends/family know about our experience.

This hotel had all the basics you need for a short trip. It is slightly far outside the city so probably best for those travelling by car. Hotel facilities cannot be faulted everything was clean and up to standard.

Not really city centre but if you have a car it's a great hotel with free parking. There is a drug/superstore directly across the road and it is right on the bus route into town - perfect. The rooms are dated but huge and I mean huge. The beds are comfortable and it is very clean. A little on the noisy side but what hotel isn't? All in all excellent hotel.

Bus stop in front of door for quick access to downtown. Quiet neighbourhood with mall across the street and close to hospital too. Rockin Johnnies across the street has a great breakfast menu and price. Beautiful hotel and staff. We will stay again.

We were greeted by a friendly and helpful woman (Sherri) who provided some awesome info on local happenings. When our AC stopped working they had maintenance there in literally seconds and got our unit up and working. We enjoyed a swim in the clean and perfect temperature pool! We ate at the restaurant, served by another friendly staff member and the food was excellent.

Stayed 4 nights .....all was good....front desk ALWAYS helpful and oozing knowledge about tourist destinations and directions...housekeeping was professional and fulfilled any requests....centrally located and close to town center....and that brings us to James and Jory who were spot on at the restaurant on site....good guys with friendly dispositions....actually everyone employed at the eatery were professional and friendly.... All in all a fine holiday in the nations capital....BW made it possible....thanks everyone

This motel offered everything we wanted; friendly helpful staff, reasonable price, clean rooms, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, good climate control and an onsite restaurant. But especially free parking in an open lot since we have a van with kayaks on top and in garage parking is not an option. It was also tops on our list due to being close to the bike trails that lead into the city and public transportation so we didn't have to search for parking in the city. If you are a cyclist, you can cycle to downtown easily on a beautiful paved path a few mile from the motel and there is plenty of free parking in lots along the path. A couple of minor issues were a balky folding door for the closet and a strange angled half wall between the toilet and sink in the bathroom. It sticks out into the space and it's easy to stub your toes on it if you get up in the middle of the night. There is a fridge and microwave as well as in room coffee.

Best Westerns, Hi my name is Janesh Mahalingam, I stayed best western hotel in Ottawa for one night with my entire family. When came inside the room, the room was big was big enough for one family and also it has enough space to put our luggage's, about five minute later I receive one call from the reception desk and he was asking me " If everything was alright was room is comfortable? And if you need anything please call us by pressing "0" and one of our staff will help you!". That was the first impression, any other that I have stayed no one ever call the customer and said "if everything is alright?". All I can say is this if you guys want to stay for one night or for week hotel, please go to Best Western, the hospitality was great, free wifi and also great restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!!!!!

I go to this hotel really often and I'm always happy to see Sherry at the reception which is always smiling and cares about providing the best stay. Rooms are clean, and pool is heated. Restaurant is good.

Awesome service at front desk Stephanie was great! Clean spacious room, with a beautiful outdoor pool. Early check in and a late checkout helped immensely, friendly, kind and helpful staff was a bonus.

Clean room and good service but hotel is dated and things like the vending machines both didn't work well and one took money and said I wasn't charged. The price was inflated and for what I paid the room was dated.

Reviews say this hotel has been refurbished? We only saw new wooden flooring in our room. Decor, curtains and carpets seemed dated. Our room was average, but my bed was very uncomfortable. Microwave and refrigerator. Writing desk and chair. Table and 2 chairs in the room. Pump action dispensers for shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom with only 1 soap for a hand basin and shower to share was not good for a BW Plus. Outdoor pool was very nice and warm but a long walk from the lobby and some rooms as it was right at the back of the hotel. Staff were friendly. Plenty of free parking.

Refurbished hotel provided great value for summer travel months, free and secure parking, great performing air conditioners, very courteous staff, and well prepared departure paperwork. The Filling Station at the corner of Clyde and Woodward is a great breakfast and lunch location, and Westboro is less than 3 kilometers north of hotel.

I booked this hotel through an on line booking service which I do commonly use. Unfortunately when I went to check in, they had a ready record of My booking, but there was some kind of a technical hitch between the booking company and hotel, and I was delayed for a few minutes. The reception agent was very apologetic, and assured Me was nothing to do with Me, but a rather regular scenario with the booking agency. That aside, My room was absolutely immaculate. I've stayed in hundreds, probably 1,000's of Hotels over My long career, and this one ranks right at the top for cleanliness and appointments. There was construction on the main highway and normal access to the Hotel location was closed, which could be bit of an issue for those not familiar with the area. As well as the great room, the staff were also superb.!! This place definitely ranks as one of the best places I've stayed in a very long time. Not sure how it gets it's designation as city centre, since in My opinion it is quite a ways from what I'd consider City Centre, but on Plus side, normally would allow for very easy access, with ample outdoor parking.

I'm actually surprised with all the positive reviews of this location. I've just been in the hotel yesterday and I cannot believe how poor the sound proofing of this hotel. I did not get to sleep as I can hear every movement of the guest at the upper floor and people talking at the hallway. The floor is all wood and this makes a poor sound barrier. Even when I try to walk in our room I could hear my footstep. I have used other Best Western in Toronto but their floors are carpeted and not wood.

Stay was very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and attentive. Always ready to assist. Room was modern but elegant. Nice touch. Restaurant was very good too. The location is just outside downtown but not far. A short bus ride or cab ride away. The heated pool is an added bonus. Will definitely stay again.

I'm giving 5 stars mostly because of the customer service and value. If you're reading this looking for 5-star luxury, this review won't help you. Anyway, the property is clean with tidy rooms. My room wasn't luxurious but everything was kept in excellent condition. From the start, the front desk was very courteous and on top their responsibilities. It appeared that the staff had a clear understanding of how to deliver good customer services Where they shined is in the way they handled an issue in which a large group of kids stayed at the hotel and got a little noisy during the evening. I mentioned the issue to the front desk who immediately jumped into action and made things right for me. Ultimately, they moved me into one of the suites which was away from the kids and quiet. I never heard another peep during my final two nights. I think they also cracked down a little harder on the noise so kudos to them for standing up for us business travelers.

The room it's good, clean and have parking available, except it's a bit noisy at night (it's Saturday). Very close (driving distance) to all the places we are visiting in Ottawa. Not much view as we are in the ground floor.

Really friendly and outgoing staff, very clean and a little worn.... Stayed for business the check in was quick, friendly and cordial. The room was renovated but the wall paper can`t hide the damaged wall around the ac under the window...the bed was AMAZING and very clean. All in all for the value you get a nice clean room with the nicest people working there.

Very friendly welcome upon arrival. Upgraded when they found a suitcase still in the room we were assigned. Very close by to the hospital. Food was great at the restaurant downstairs. Check out was no problem. We would stay here again if we need to.

I would recommend this place we had a very pleasant experience. We travel with 8 month old twins and they provided little cribs and the fact that there is a microwave and a fridge in the room makes it very appealing to us. Nice area of the city very centric.

Always stay here for its cleanliness and access to and around the city. Lots of parking, staff really good, and the breakfast is top notch. You pay a small price for a tasty and plentiful breakfast with super service. Better than the included tasteless ones offered by other hotels, including BW.

I can't say enough about the staff - they truly made our stay feel like home. There was ample parking throughout our stay. The WiFi connection was great in the rooms. I can't say enough about my stay (stays) at this location. Right from entering the front door till the time we left. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Restaurant was very good as were the servers. WiFi connection was great too. Overall, I will be BACK!!

Room was exactly as advertised. Hotel has been recently updated and you can tell. Staff were very warm and friendly. Lots of parking on site. Hotel was easy to find (right off the 417) and the centre of Ottawa is a quick drive away.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel last Thursday and again on Monday night while in Ottawa as we visited family in the surrounding area and near Toronto. We must say the staff from the moment we arrived and left went over the top to make sure we were welcomed and treated us so kindly in every respect. It is clearly evident, they have superb managers who know how to treat staff including the staff on the front desk, to the cleaning staff and the restaurant staff. When we arrived we were greeted by such friendly staff who provide us with a drink voucher. Thinking we were too late to catch the restaurant & bar at 10:30 , Jory, quickly responded and brought us supper and wine to our room. On Monday night we were late getting in from the Sens game and while looking for some munchies at 11 PM , Jory again came to the rescue, stayed late and delivered wings and wine to our room. I heard Fran made it all happen...I must say the service at this hotel is one in a million!! Thanks to all staff for making us feel at home.

Our family enjoyed 6 nights at the Best Western Plus during the March 2018 spring break - we visited Ottawa from Vancouver, BC, with our 15 year old son and Mom/Dad of course. The Room Our room was on the 4th floor (that's the top floor) with 2 queen beds, non-smoking. We would recommend the top floor of any hotel that's not full concrete construction, as it avoids any noise from people walking or running on the floor in the room above you - not pleasant when you're trying to sleep because you're on a different time zone. The room was large and spacious with a desk and round table, and kept tidy and clean by the hotel staff throughout the week of our visit. The beds were very comfortable, as were the pillows. Drapes were blackout, and the heat/air-conditioning unit was about as quiet as you can get for an in-wall unit to the exterior. You can hear hallway noise - such as housekeeping staff or other guests talking/running down the hall - for this reason, we would recommend you ask for a room on the end of the hallway, to minimize other guests having to walk by your room. Oddly, there was no do-not-disturb sign to put on the outside of the door. The TV was a large flat panel with a good image, and the room included a microwave and fridge. The fridge in our unit did emit a high pitch squeal, so we unplugged it at night - though I expect this was a unique problem to our particular fridge - note the fridge is housed in a wooden cabinet to help contain any buzzing noise, which, other than the high pitch squeal, was minimal (suggest hotel facilities take a look at this fridge). If you have a child with a gaming console, bring your own HDMI cable (the TV won't have one, as it's connected to a data network for service). Restaurant The hotel has an excellent restaurant. They serve breakfast until noon each day, and I believe later on the weekends. And the breakfast is excellent, service friendly and prompt. And prices are reasonable. We would highly recommend having breakfast at the hotel restaurant each morning. I enjoyed eggs and bacon with toast several mornings, my son eggs benedict, and my wife an omelette. If you are gluten free, they have an option for gluten free toast! Oh, and they will do room service for you too. Parking Is free, and there was ample space for us to get a spot close to the door no matter what time we returned to the hotel at the end of each day. Other Services One big bonus is a 24 hour Shoppers Drug Mart across the street from the hotel - and it's a large Shoppers with lots of the common stuff you might need during your stay. The hotel is close to the 417 highway, and is centrally located in the metro-Ottawa area. WiFi was fast and reliable in the room. We did order Chinese food late one evening from the binder of recommended restaurants in the area that was included in the hotel room - the delivery was prompt, and the food was excellent, plus the delivery person very friendly. There is also a laundry room in the hotel for guest use - we didn't use this service during our stay.

We stayed here one night, arrived late and left early in the morning. We found the room to be clean but nothing special. The beds were okay, my one daughter found the room to be cold. What was really annoying was that the phone in the room rang at around 2 in the morning. The person on the other end was claiming to be the front desk, asking for our credit card information as their system went down and they lost it. We figured it was a crank call and hung up. It ruined our sleep and we were not to happy. Told the front desk in the morning and he mentioned that it has happened before. Someone could be duped by that , especially when they are half asleep.

I wish I could make this review a 3.5 because that's where it belongs in my opinion. This is our third time staying at this hotel in the past 5 years and we have seen changes just due to time and wear & tear. The first time we stayed the bed was so comfortable we actually found out what the mattress was and we have that same one at our house- this time not so much. I don't know if they changed mattress types or if they just haven't updated but I found the bed to be somewhat uncomfortable this time around. The rooms are still decent but they need upgrading- mosly smaller things like painting etc. Our tub worked fine but the faucet handles were missing trim parts and the removable cover on the front to access the jacuzzi motor was barely hanging on. The breakfast was fine but certainly not fantastic. I am not sure this has as much to do with this hotel as it does in general with hotels that offer complimentary breakfasts. I think we have grown tired of them over the years as they are mostly bland. Just a personal opinion. The common areas are clean and the staff was very friendly. While this is still a good hotel, I think if we come back to Ottawa in the near future we might try something different.

Had a very nice stay at this hotel compared to Travelodge where we stayed previously which was terrible. The staff at Best Western were pleasant and helpful. The room was nice and the beds very comfortable. Would definitely recommend Best Western Plus Ottawa for your next stay.

The hotel is within easy walking distance to the Civic, 15-20 min, or a short cab ride. With evidence of a medical appointment there is a discount on the room. A coupon was received on checking in for a free beer, wine or beverage in the bar.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. It was very nice and clean. Bedding comfortable and staff was very accommodating. The restaurant was clean and not busy. We had some nice salads with chicken or salmon.

Veery clean and and quiet. Location isn't the greatest but you wouldn't be staying here for that reason. Choose a hotel closer to downtown if you are a tourist. Easy check in, great customer service. The only thing that would make this hotel great is a free breakfast. A little pricey for the location!

The rooms in this hotel are fine with lots of space for working. The laminate flooring in the rooms does not clean well giving the impression that the floors are dirty ( when they may not be.)Had a room with a leak in the closet but was taken care of and room change was done well. There is no breakfast included in this site which is something that I have come to expect as a Diamond BW points member. The restaurant is Ok but the menu is a bit limited and the prices a a bit high for what you get. The prices for the rooms however are attractive for Ottawa and the location was good for where we were working.

Stayed at this hotel for a bit, and had such a bad experience. Booked it online, so we couldn't get out of the reservation. People beside us were smoking joints a lot and the smell was really disgusting (even in the hallways). The room does not look anything like it does on the pictures. A few times when we were gone we came back without our rooms cleaned, and they told us that they couldn't do anything about it because the cleaning ladies weren't there anymore. I made one call for two minutes to Gatineau and had them charge our room 10$ extra (when Gatineau is not long distance?). Also, my boyfriend injured himself, and there was NO FIRST AID KIT OR ICE... and the front desk told us to walk to Shoppers Drug Mart to get ice OURSELVES across the street?! (After going to buy ice, we realized they have ice in the back of the hotel which they didn't tell us) I'm sorry but I travel the world as an athlete and it's really sad to see Ottawa (my hometown) having the worst service out of all hotels I've been to. Also, I had a meeting with the manager and she did not care at all about our complaints. I don't like complaining but I needed to post this so they can at least buy a first aid kit (so the next person doesn't take them to court).

I usually stay at holiday inn, but because of the convenient location of this hotel, I gave it a try as it was recommended. It was perfect, the room, the in hotel restaurant was very good and really convenient as well. The staff was great, especially reception. I'm going to continue using this one during my stays in Ottawa. Joe Jensen

Good hotel to stay in while in Ottawa. Staff was really nice. The person who checked me in was really nice and gave me a wealth of information about the hotel and the BW rewards program. Room was too cold for my liking but overall it was a nice, clean room.

I stayed here for one night in January of 2018. I had an appointment in Ottawa, so I only needed a place to sleep for the night. I booked on Hotwire for $103 per night, including parking. The hotel is conveniently located, easily accessible off the 417. It is located within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. The public bus has a stop out indeont. The outside and parts of the inside of the hotel are dated. However, there appear to be ongoing improvements. For example, my room had new hardwood floors and updated bedding. The hotel staff were all considerate and customer service oriented. Whenever I engaged with them, they asked how my stay was going and if there was anything they could do for me. The room itself was well equipped with a bar fridge and microwave. The website advertises that each room has a hair dryer, but I admit it took me more than a few minutes to find it (it was hanging on a hook on the back of the bathroom door). The only negative thing I have to say about the hotel is that I found it quite noisy. I could hear other hotel patrons walking and talking down the hallway and I could hear noise in the rooms around me. However, I did not call the front desk to complain nor did I ask to be moved to a quieter location. I feel that if I had, my request would have been accommodated. I would stay at this property again for short term stays in Ottawa.

We stayed here for 3 days during our trip to Ottawa on the Canada day weekend. The hotel is a little far from the parliament hill and bus service is not so good. But this is not a problem if you have a car, or like our case Uber. It worked well for us, because we wanted to avoid the crowd. We didn't use the hotel facilities much, neither did we eat there. But the room was quiet and the staff was nice. We didn't have many demand and didn't want to be bothered much. We got the privacy we needed. There is a nice diner called Rocking Johny and a shopper's drugmart across the road. I will probably stay here if I visit Ottawa again.

Great location close to where I needed to be the following morning. Big rooms, somewhat old and they would welcome some renovations. Beds were too soft. No breakfast included which, including the overall experience, made me feel the fare I paid was quite overpriced.

Love the new exterior changes you have done to the property! Looks great and like the new and quiet Ac/Heating units in the rooms, what a big difference, your rooms looks great! Nice to see continuous efforts are being made to improve the appearance of the hotel. Keep it up!

Stayed for one night. Room is very clean. Not much around in terms of food. The lounge/bar is poorly staffed and the food isn't great. Better to order in from outside. . Wake up call didn't come. Front desk is skeleton staff which means waiting in line for some time.

Starting with the check in,it's a positive experience. Beds are a 10+ ,rooms nicely decorated , the lady who made up our room was amazing, she could not do enough for us. We ate in the restaurant, good food ,reasonable, good service.

We haven't stayed at a Best Western for years, because we were not impressed by the chain. I booked three nights at this one because of its proximity to family in the area. In the end, it was better than I expected. There is construction/renovation going on at the hotel, so when we arrived, it did not look promising. The entrance is small and uninviting, and my heart sank. The situation did not improve with the person who checked us in. Despite the fact that I had dutifully filled in the "preregistration" form sent to me by email, she asked us twice whether we had a car (we didn't), and she was under the impression that we needed a pull-out bed (we didn't). On top of that, she asked me write in my husband's name beside my own. Why does the hotel need that? I had asked for a high floor--and the check-in person gave us a room on the second floor. The hotel has only four floors, but still: What's the point of letting guests make requests if they are simply going to be ignored? When we got to the room we were surprised to find that there was no carpet anywhere on the floor. This probably makes cleaning easier, and in general I would prefer it, especially in the summer. However, it was extremely cold in Ottawa that week, and cold bare floors were not so nice for walking on. We were in Ottawa during a major cold spell. On our first night, we kept cranking up the thermostat, but still felt cold. The next day we asked for additional blankets, and they were supplied. On subsequent nights we were warm enough. On our first morning, we were wakened by a wake-up call at 7:00 am--which we did NOT ask for. We spoke to someone at the desk, and sure enough, a wake-up call was listed for our room--yet another indication of the problems the hotel seems to have with keeping accurate records for its guests. So there were a number of glitches at the beginning of our stay. But after that, everything gradually improved. Our room turned out to be extremely large, with far more space than we needed. There was a full-size closet--something that is often missing from the rooms in other hotel chains. The bedding seemed to be new. The sheets were comfortable and not coarse, the way they often are in mid-range hotels, and the mattress seemed relatively new, without the usually ridges and hollows that well-used hotel mattresses unfortunately develop. There was a small fridge and a microwave. The room had a comfortable desk and chair. The Wifi worked perfectly; I never had problems with it, and it was included in the cost of the room. The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent--I really enjoyed my showers. The water was, however, very very hot; people with children would have to be extra careful. I discovered the exercise room on my second morning. It is small, with just a few machines, but I really enjoyed using the elliptical on a couple of mornings. Suggestions for the management: 1) Check on the air circulation. The room smelled very strongly of plastic, and never seemed to air out. 2) Maybe consider getting a machine with a screen that is not six feet off the ground. For a short person like me, it was impossible to look at without bending my head back. Instead, I read a magazine while I exercised, although light bouncing off the page made reading somewhat difficult. We ate at the little cafe in the basement once, for breakfast. Again, it did not seem promising: Who wants to eat in the basement? But the server was unbelievably prompt and efficient. Our breakfast came very fast and was quite enjoyable. Just the usual eggs and toast, but it was delicious. For the most part, the hotel was reasonably quiet and peaceful. I believe the construction work was suspended for the week, because of the extreme cold, so we did not have to deal with noise from that--and in any case, we were given a room far from the construction site. Some people came in very late on the third night, and seemed to be moving furniture at 1:30 in the morning--but I guess people will always be inconsiderate.

Clean room, great beds, great wifi, TV needs to be clearer and the staff are excellent! Centrally located right at the Queens way also shopping mall right across the street. we will return o this hotel.

The room was nice and check out staff were great but that check in person was to be honest a nightmare. It was like he did not want business and As I was waiting in line he was in an arguement with another customer. I like Best Western and will stay at others but this was a unique bad experience.

Overall stay was excellent the food was extremely good and people may not know about restaurant as it is located in the basement kind of out of sight. The carrot cheesecanke was to die for. The staff are extremely friend and make lots of suggestions

We have stayed many times at the Best Western, each time for men's gymnastics competition. It serves the purpose for a one or two night stay in the city. It has a gym and a restaurant but no pool. It is located across the street from a small mall with a Monkey Joes and Shoppers Drug Mart. The room is a good size. I like that the toiletries are a full bottle size and attached to the walls in the bathroom. So if you like to take home the trial size toiletries as souvenirs, fuggitaboutit! On my arrival, the hotel looked like it was under construction. I was told that they were replacing the a/c units. When I entered my room, there was an old, broken down air conditioner on the floor. I called the front desk to have the old a/c unit removed from the room and I was given the same information about the units being exchanged instead of having it removed from the room for my stay. I was very disappointed that they would give me a room with an a/c unit on the floor and then even more disappointed that they would not remove it when I requested. So for that part I was not pleased about at all. The room and stay itself, was as usual, fine.

Outdated, lights in room did not work, no carpet even in hall. Cold slippery floor. Not enough bedding. HVAC sitting on floor, view from hotel window is a parking lot full of lumber and construction. Heat could not be adjusted. Small tiny old tubs. This was an Upgrade to business class room! Not even coffee or breakfast included. Price for one night with taxes $260.00. NOT WORTH ANYTHING LIKE THIS. Staff was nice. Room was clean. The person next door sounded like they were having a shower in my room! Not good soundproofing!

We always stay in the same hotel in Ottawa and find it very relaxing after ort busy family visit we will continue staying at the same address to accumulate points and upon more travels surge for BW hotels.

I stay at multiple different Best Western and Best Western Plus hotels often for both business and pleasure. The experience is consistently excellent in service. There is often an element of construction that is unfortunately a part of improvements, however it very good to see the ongoing improvements. I so plan to be back soon.

the hotel was really clean and rooms were great. The staff was really friendly. However, we hear the elevator even if our room is located a few rooms away and the pool is seasonal so not great for hockey teams during hockey tournaments
