    « Outstanding »

We have just had my husband's joint 60th Birthday and our son's 18th birthday party at this hotel. Cannot rate them highly enough. We had an Elvis themed evening with Elvis inspired food. Graham, the Chef totally embraced this and the food that was served was totally amazing with many guests asking for the recipes for his meatloaf and cornbread. It was of the highest quality. What can we say about the staff...Every single member of staff were fantastic and supportive of our wishes. Mike took all stress away on the evening and just kept being there to do everything with a smile on his face. Huge thank you to Clare who went out of her way to make our event run smoothly and Jonathan for all the help with our party. Thank you to Caroline, always smiling and so enthusiastic about our celebrations. Stayed for 2 nights, used the leisure facilities which are also fantastic. Had hair and makeup done at the Beauty Spa and Hair Salon. The girls were so lovely and I will definitely be back. Absolutely amazing!

    « 30TH BIRTHDAY »

group of 7 ladies booked for overnight spa treat.lovely hotel rooms , treatments at spa very good - could have done with seating around swimming pool also staff not keen to give you a dry towel.food excellent however when we booked this the literature on the 1 night spa package states to include 3 course table d'hote dinner.we were all looking forward to having a 3 course meal only to be told, as we were looking at the menu, that we only had an allowance of 25 pounds each towards the meal.nowhere on any info /receipts /invoices received was this mentioned and we were all looking at the menu and prices trying to work out what we could order and what extra we would need to pay.in the end no-one had 3 courses only 1 or 2 courses. i feel that this was missold to us and we were all very disappointed - shame on you...you should have a separate menu of 3 courses if that is the case that covers your costs.for that reason i would not recommend this place as we felt it put a low point in what could have been a fitting end to a nice day.

    « Lovely Hotel »

Really nice Hotel. We stayed on a Sunday and had the Carvery Lunch which was lovely and obviously enjoyed by many locals too. Room was spacious and very clean with all the amenities you would want. Although its near a main road - very quiet too. Swimming pool is lovely as is the gym and both offer excellent facilities which are complimentary to Hotel Guests. Lovely outdoor area for drinks if the weather is fine that is smoker and non smoker friendly albeit, it does look over the car park but still very relaxing. Large free Car Park which is excellent and the Hotel itself is just situated between the A1 and Lincoln within easy reach of the City Centre - so an ideal location for those wanting to explore Lincoln City. Breakfast here, as are all the meals is lovely and the staff are really attentive and nice. Lovely break highly recommend.

« Spacious rooms, great pool »

We stayed here overnight whilst attending a charity ball at the hotel. There is ample car parking and our check in was quick & efficient with pleasant staff on reception. Initially I was a little unsure when told our room was ground floor toward the lift. However the location was great in the end - well away from the lift so no disturbance there and easy access to the leisure facilities. The room itself was what I expect from Best Western - spacious, clean and I like the "pillow menu", where you can opt for a different pillow option such as feather or hypo allergenic. Travelodge please take note - not everyone likes breeze block hard pillows, choice is lovely. The bed was very comfy. The refreshment tray was well stocked and the biscuits welcome. The ensuite bathroom was a good size, spotless and boasted very soft fluffy towels. There was also a bathrobe in the open hanging areas. Not sure why only one when it was a double occupancy? The pool in the onsite leisure club is very impressive & a great asset to the hotel. It is larger than many so you can really swim good lengths and at neither of our visits was it busy. The changing rooms are a little cramped and I think a spin dryer for swimwear would be a welcome addition if possible. The dining room was surprisingly small for the hotel, perhaps other areas are opened up at busy periods. Breakfast was a good standard overall. The hot buffet selection was quite comprehensive. Our poached eggs were perfectly cooked and the fact we got two was a surprise - nice touch. The coffee could have been better - it tasted a bit burned, as though it had been sitting on a hot plate for a long time prior to being put in our coffees pot. Staff were lovely and attentive. We got a special corporate rate for attending the function & appreciate we had full use of leisure faculties but even so did feel £90 was a little expensive. However overall a very pleasant stay.

This was the second time we have stayed here it so relaxing lovely rooms great food and the staff are excellent they are s credit to the hotel. It is kept spotlesly clean. You can ask for things like toothbrushes toothpaste or other toiletries you may need. As much yes coffee milk biscuits as you like just ask. We thoroughly enjoyed our day in the spa the staff are so friendly and helpfull we had the mud treatment our skin felt so invigorated and realy soft we then spent the rest if the time using the great facilities then last of all up to there relaxation room it offers biscuits and cold drink but if you want a hot drink the staff are more than happy to bring one up to you. It good you can come in and out of the spar with you're robe on as much as you like we went for lunch in ours. It's a bit pricey I think but you certainly get what you pay for here. We would highly reccomended this hotel

« Another Near Perfect Stay For My 35th »

For nearly six years we have been staying at the Bentley Hotel for our visits to this wonderful city of Lincoln and apart from the first stay in 2012 (unsuitable children's family room with dodgy shower) every time since then has been almost flawless. We did have a few issues with Best Western with rewards points prior but it was sorted out eventually but did not detract from us staying again for my 35th Birthday week as this is the best hotel within Lincoln. We (or I) chose the Lauren Suite again (3rd time), massive room with 2 king sized beds with a lounge area - Perfect for me and my parents with 2 TV's and air conditioning as it was quite hot when we stayed last week! Breakfast always very good with hot and cold buffet selection. Pool facilities always a bonus - love the hot tub Jacuzzi! Staff always very professional and friendly. The only very slight gripe was with my mum's dinner on Tues eve as her sausage & mash was rather overcooked (sausages rock hard) - but she did get a fresh replacement, other than that the rest of our meals we had were lovely. Hopefully we will be back again soon - if not this year then definitely next year!

« Lovely hotel but not happy »

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel and first impressions were lovely, greeted by friendly staff who seemed to know what they were doing. At check in we were asked for the name on our reservation, which we told them. We were then asked to sign some paperwork and pay. All ok we were directed to our room. When we got to the room one key worked One didn't....no issue. Got settled into the room and went in the bathroom for a shower, the next thing we know somebody else (another guest) has a key to our room and is letting themselves in! Even though I was undressed ready to get in the shower! The poor man apologised and walked out. We then get a call from reception asking us our name and saying sorry as they'd double booked the room. Went down to reception to complain and we were just told sorry! Not happy at all my privacy was invaded and I didn't feel as I could stay there the night because of what had happened. So paid over £100 for a night that I didn't manage to stay for.....not happy at all

« Nice hotel, beware of coach parties! »

Stayed here on business. Had a pleasant and generally well appointed double room. Evening bar food was good, breakfast above average as breakfast buffets go. Had to fiddle with the room heating to find the hidden switch, but the temperature was fine after that. Actually finding the entrance to the car park is tricky as you have to negotiate a narrow twisting road past the garden centre and hungry horse to get to the hotel car park. The hotel is located at the junction of two busy roads so expect some road noise if you get a room close to the road. It didn't bother me too much but I expect that you would want the air-con in summer rather than opening a window. Worst part was the coach party that arrived shortly after me. This is no criticism of the hotel, merely a warning. As a "normal" hotel guest, your are invisible to coach parties as I found with the group who bumped and barged me in the bar whilst I was eating. Hence, ensure that you pick a seat in the bar which is not between the coach party and their food! As I say, not the hotel's fault, but this is a popular stop for coaches visiting Lincoln. As a hotel, i would generally be happy to stay here again. There is use of the very reasonably leisure centre too.

« Modern, Clean and Comfortable »

We stayed one night as part of a coach short break to Lincoln. Our modern ground floor room was clean, quiet and modern, simply furnished but very comfortable. The shower had a loose control knob which was a bit tricky but, otherwise the en suite and room were well provided and no other problems. We had a three course dinner which was well presented and cooked and with more than adequate helpings and a level of service which was particularly efficient. Breakfast the next morning was fine, partly buffet style and partly served at the table. The service was not quite as spot on as dinner with a bit of a mix up over our order for coffee and toast but soon dealt with. On the whole, this well run hotel was perfect for our one night stay and we would have happily stayed longer although its out of town position suggests it might be more appropriate for business people, tourists or short term visitors rather than holidaymakers.

    « I want to live here »

We had the family room and it was fantastic, our boys loved the bunk bed. Everything was just right and the staff were fantastic. Comfortable, clean, peaceful, great swimming pool area (didn't use the gym but it looked high spec). Would love to return without the children and try out the spa. Breakfast was very tasty and you could tell good quality. One of my favourite places now and can't wait to visit again.

    « Value for money »

We booked a family room for Chistmas and were delighted with what we got for our money. Christmas was spent at my parents home locally. the room was huge with 2 double beds and a single, an en-suite and TV. the hotel offered a pool and gym and the breakfast was lovely. thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    « Comfortable,quiet with helpful staff »

A two night stay. Comfortable, well appointed bedroom in a quiet ground floor location. All the staff were really helpful, answering questions about location, taxis, buses and Lincoln City centre with good humour and good knowledge. Use of the spa facilities for residents is useful. Food was good and helpfully the restaurant was willing to provide a dish that wasn't on the menu. Bar prices moderate and overall it was an excellent experience. Whoever dictates the background music either has super eclectic tastes or a bizarre sense of humour.

    « A nice surprise »

Originally booked this at the beginning of March but had to cancel due to snow, rebooked but as Good friday it was more expensive. Not been to best western hotel for 20 years as i always associated them with older buildings. This is a modern hotel situated at the junction of the A46 and the Lincoln ring road. Easy check in with friendly helpful staff and off to the room 116. Not much of a view but only there for one night. Usual 4* room with comfortable double bed, trouser press, alarm clock , kettle and two chairs. Went to the Spa for a swim in a pool more than deep enough to swim but not good for small children unless supervised. Small sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Did not have dinner there because it seemed expensive but there are two establishments close by, The Beekeeper, and a Brewers Fayre plus a mcdonalds and a Burger King if you have children. Breakfast for £8 which is a full English as much as you can eat ( all good quality) supervised by friendly staff. Would definitely recomend and stay again

« Good Quiet and Comfortable »

Stayed here for just one night, but it was excellent. Although close to the Lincoln Ring Road yet there was no noise at all in the room. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with very good and pleasent service. The reception staff were most helpful and cheerful. The only down point was that mobile phone reception was not good. But there was free wifi.

    « Mid week stay »

Stayed at hotel mid week for one night. Ate in bar in evening and had breakfast. All the food was lovely. Service from staff fantastic all, where very helpful. Room was clean and comfy and well equipped. Has good facilities attached to hotel including gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Really enjoyed my stay here, would defiantly go back.

    « Would stay again! »

Stayed recently for 3 nights as part of a large group on business. I booked the room for everyone and the staff were so helpful in the lead up to the stay, making last minute changes and confirming details. The rooms were clean and spacious and just what we needed. The breakfast every day was lovely, plenty of choice and good service - they also have gluten free bread so that was excellent! I ordered room service one evening which was quickly delivered, well presented and tasty. it was the first time my company had used the hotel but we'll definitely stay again. My room was on the ground floor facing the main road which was quite noisy in the mornings but I quickly got used to it, if you're a light sleeper I'd request one on the other side.

    « Perfect ! »

We were invited to a Golden wedding anniversary party at the Bentley so booked in for the night. We arrived early in the afternoon and after booking in had a drink in the bar and some very fresh sandwiches, made to order. Then in the evening , the party was excellent - The room had been laid out and decorated to perfection and the hot buffet was absolutely wonderful - hot, fresh, tasty and plentiful with a good choice of mains and sweets for all. In the morning we had breakfast before we left and the choice was excellent. My husband had the cooked breakfast and everything was fresh and hot. The service throughout our stay was very good. We would definitely recommend.

    « Avoid the restaurant »

You can book the restaurant of the hotel independently, we did for Christmas Day and will never go again after our experience. Our whole Christmas Day was ruined by poor service and food of a mediocre standard which was expensive for level of service and quality. The hotel manager & owner who failed to recognise a major food issue, who decided eventually to offer a meal for 2 as compensation but for a party of 6, that doesn't quite work! so when requested a simple & small % refund, refused, and accused the customer of threatening behaviour, reported to Best western themselves who obviously realised and compensated us more appropriately. My first review has been deleted I wonder why .........

    « Wonderful stay »

My husband and I stayed for one night on Friday for our first wedding anniversary and it was truly wonderful. The gentleman who checked us in was pleasant and very helpful, couldn't do enough for us. We requested an ice bucket and a couple of flutes for the room which arrived in minutes, as well as an extra robe we requested. There were a couple of guests down the corridor from our room having a blazing row, swearing, screaming, very aggressive. Obviously no fault of the hotel, I called reception to report it and somebody came to deal with it immediately and we didn't hear anything again. The pool and spa were beautiful, so relaxing and very peaceful. The room was lovely, clean, comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities in the room, as well as a lot of fantastic information about the hotel as well as information on the local area. Bathroom was spotless. Breakfast the next morning was hot and delicious, plenty of selection even for myself (vegetarian), waiting staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We requested a later check out as we were being picked up later which was no problem the young girl at reception said we could check out at 12, I think her name was Sophie, she was ever so polite, helpful and pleasant. I honestly didn't want to leave this hotel. Even after we checked out we were able to use the pool and spa we stayed until 3pm. Want to go back already!

    « Afterrnoon tea »

we went today for an afternoon tea it was very nice i have had a few afternoon teas at various place but this was one of the nicest. We were served by a lovely lady called Caroline who couldn't have done more for us making sure our tea and coffee were full. we didn't like the scones provided and it was absolutely no problem for her to change them for us.

    « Very relaxing day »

Me and my wife enjoyed a half day spa experience with a hot stones massage, we were given towels and robes to use throughout our day. We used the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and the therma suite. The facilities were all very clean. The ladies from booking, through to the ladies doing our massage were all very friendly and professional. We had also booked an afternoon tea in the hotel, through The Beauty Spa which was one of the best afternoon teas we have ever had. A very good relaxing day.

« Lovely hotel with excellent staff »

What a lovely place this is. We went for a standard double with breakfast. The rooms are large and comfortable with everything you could need; even a pillow ?menu' is provided. Leisure facilities, a bar and restaurant, parking all for a reasonable price. Really friendly and helpful staff make this place stand out.

« Some people are obviously 'picky'..... »

Sad that other reviewers expect an Aston Martin when they're only paying for a Mondeo. with my job, I have to stay in hotels around the world so can usually tell whether a stay will be good or not after an hour of arrival. The reception staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful (as was the chap that dropped my drinks to the room, 5 minutes or less after I ordered them). You get a great, and I mean really well set out, gym, steam room, sauna and pool all thrown in. I've paid far more for hotels in London and elsewhere that sold themselves as 'elite' and there was no pool. The decoration on one wall of my room was speckled gold. now, I'm not Donald Trump and don't like Gold décor, but this matched the rest of the room decorations and wasn't garish. to be honest, I'm more interested in the comfort and amenities in a room, not what it looks like, and this had a myriad of power points and great wifi plus a desk and communal table with 'and finally Cyril' chairs. The décor in the bar was ok (it's a bar - what do people expect) but the chairs did remind me of 1990's shell suits. having said that, my bum and back were comfortable whilst having a pint (which was also good as there was choice) so what the the soft furnishings look like makes no difference. the bar staff was very friendly too. So, basically, I paid for a standard Mondeo and got a top of the range model with lots of optional extras. I have family in Lincoln (which is why I'm in the hotel) so will be here a lot over the next years but I wont be looking for another hotel - I'm happy here!

    « A VERY RELAXING PLACE »

This hotel has everything we like. Good food, comfy rooms, great swimming pool and excellent staff. The rooms are always clean and the staff don't spend time making strange animal things with towels that they put on the beds. I'd rather have a towel that hasn't been screwed up for my morning shower!!! This hotel keeps the towels in the bathroom - where they should be.

    « Excellent Spa Break »

Overnight stay using their first class facilities. Dinner and breakfast from the extensive menu was of an excellent quality. Room upgrade was well worth it , would recommend it. All staff were very polite , friendly and professional.

    3
« Fine but could be easily improved »

The hotel is OK, the decoration is in need of updating and the pool area including changing rooms could also do with updating and painting. Rooms are ok for the price but they also need redecoration. Biggest frustration was that when booking through the Best Western Web page you expect the reservation to be made right, we were told we had no breakfast included when the reservation email clearly stated it was, we didn't like how the staff in the morning dealt with it by making sure to say that out as loud as possible so anyone in the room could hear we had no breakfast Includes, felt like they wanted to make us feel embarrassed of not having it (when we did have it)

    5
« "Fab stay, thanks for the upgrade" »

I have been here a few times & gets better each time, def when you get an upgrade.I have a BW loyality card, worth signing up it helps.I was checked in by Emma but my room wasn't ready by 11 am as rung up day before to ask for an early check in, but ready by 12.( meanwhile I went over the Beauty Spa & Hair Salon to see if they could fit me in for a Hot stone massage which they could do booked by Jade).Sophie gave me my room key card, lift to 2nd floor. I got an upgraded family exc room 366. The room was huge, huge bed, nice touch a towel made into a swan with 2 mint chocs, one wall with gold sparkle wall paper, Tea/coffee/ hot choc, bis, 2 bottles of water, !st day only crisps. trouser press, ironing board & iron, sofa bed. Dressing gown in the cupboard & slippers by the bedside drawer which I used for the spa. Chrissy from house keeping gave me more tea/milk. Choice of pillows- memory foam, just like down, feather pillow, but had the memory foam which Chrissy brought up. I had diff with the safe, so we both tried, but didn't work.sadly the safe was left locked by the other guests hence couldn't work it. Stephan & Mark DIY men came to do to & worked, tv needed tuning as well ( upgrading ariels soon which they needed to do as no Sky sports) Happy belated birthday to Mark, both very happy chappies.Upgrading the curtains too soon. Lovely smellies in bathroom, flannel, razor, shower cap, sewing kit. Had asked for bath mat inside the bath too which was there.Plenty of towels.Room lovely & warm as the key card was left in all the time as electric heater. AC in room if needed. Bed very comfy indeed, def would have the memory foam pillow again. Breakfast was self service for either hot/cold, but you could have diff eggs as I like my fired eggs hard & turned over like bullets, sadly had to send them back only once.Karen was still there & got a lovely welcome back. Lots of choice for breakfast fruit juices, pastries, cereals, fruit. your toast, hot drinks brought to your table. Gluten free available too. Plenty of jams, butter on the table too. My eggs for the rest of the stay were just right thanks to chief Karl, thanks to Lisa & Paisley & of course not missing out Karen. I eat in " Martini bar" & was served by Caroline. I had Battered chick fillet with BBQ with chips as changed it from spicey wedges & apple juice. All in all very yummy. Bar had a few people in, but mainly for drinks, then went next door to have dinner in restaurant didn't use. only for breakfast. I did us the spa for a fab hot stone massage which was heaven & falling asleep. My treatment was done by Soma & I def would recommend, but booking is the best way of getting in. Thank you I slept so well that night. I didn't use the pool as little too cold for for me or the gym. There is a door between the spa & pool, but opens when you leave the spa via the pool which saved you going out in the cold after your treatment. Free wifi & lots of free parking even with parties going on each night, but away from the room were I was. It was lovely to see Ollie again too, who was rushing round as he always does. I was checked out by Emma. Just to say thank you to you all for making my stay perfect. Would recommend & will be back. Happy 2018 to you all......

    « Very comfortable stay »

A warm welcome by the reception staff and the room was very comfortable. I did use the gym and swim area however the sauna was out of use. That said the pool and steam room were available for use. We didn't use the restaurant for evening meal however we did have breakfast. A good selection however the bacon was rather fatty. The service again was very good though. We did use the bar, but when I asked for a espresso martini, the barman was not clued up on creating the cocktails they advertise... we opted for a G&T and a beer. Overall not a bad place.

« An excellent weekend of indulging and relaxing! »

As someone who worked with this family business nearly 30 years ago, I have been meaning to give the Bentley a proper look ever since it opened! Check in was pleasant and friendly. The ground floor room was spotless with everything you'd expect available with the unexpected addition of bath robes. First we tried the bar. Pleasant staff and a comfortable environment. We moved on to the restaurant which was very quiet on this occasion. Staff were functional and Giovani also bought conversation and personality to the table. A good choice on the menu and the food and wine was good. A very pleasant evening. After dinner we requested a late check out for the following morning. We were offered an extension at no extra charge. A comfortable bed and an excellent nights sleep despite the A46 being just a stone's throw away. (Sound proofing must be good!) The following day we relaxed in the Spa. An excellent pool and hot tub spa and also some heated beds. All very pleasant and relaxing and a great asset for the hotel. We stayed so long that we missed our chance for lunch so we went to the pub next door instead. We came back to the hotel bar to finish with coffee. Being January, I expected to be offered a good rate by ringing the hotel direct. Oddly, this wasn't the case and a better price could be found by booking online. (If I hadn't been keen to try this particular hotel, I'd have rung an alternative at this point) I'm sure we'll be back again before long :-)

    « Disappointing »

Went with a party of friends for a pre- Christmas lunch. Sadly one of our party of 8 died a week before the meal . Rang to cancel the meal and was told there was no refund despite the circumstance. The meal itself started and ended well but the main course of traditional turkey was sadly lacking. The meal was barely warm, the turkey had little flavour and the vegetables were .... raw ! I know it is trendy to not over cook them but they were crunchy. I could not even cut the carrots. As they had so little time in the pan they were virtually cold. Gravy was in short supply and so couldn't try to heat the food up with that. Plates were tepid at best. Such a shame.

    « Good stay »

Check in swift and friendly. Everything explained well. Room on ground floor spacious and warm on arrival. Bathroom clean but one of the two towels had stains but as travelling alone just used the other provided. Breakfast in the morning was the star of the show. Staff extremely friendly and polite without being intrusive. The poached eggs cooked to order were perfect and the rest of the self service breakfast was hot and delicious. Very rare on a buffet! Check out was easy, again the staff were efficient and friendly. All the staff without exception are great and a credit to the management.

« Nice rooms and English breakfast »

Travelling with a large group it did everything expected well. Rooms are clean and quiet. Staff pleasant and responsive. They rectified the tour manager's oversight having split us from our children's rooms by a floor. The breakfast buffet is vast and sets you up for a great day. The bar food and drink is ok but the pub next door is better. The restaurant looked quite good but we didn't make it there as we are travelling with children.

« Still a really good place to stay »

Best feature of this hotel, without doubt, is its staff. Everyone we met was so friendly and were so keen to do anything for you as a guest. I was staying in Lincoln on business, and my wife was able to join me, we had a really good night in the hotel bar, which had a surprisingly good selection of whiskeys. I chose the Bentley a I'd stayed there over a decade ago and had a good stay. Although it's some way out of town, most of the city centre hotels have no parking, and Lincoln hates the motor car and I wanted less stress around getting parked up etc. Also with the 2 spas on site plenty for my better half to enjoy whilst I was working. Comfortable room, OK could probably do with some updating, but clean and functional and very very good value. Excellent breakfast in the morning. I would have no hesitation in staying here again

    « Restaurant revisited »

Have visited once before to attend a function. The meal was a set menu with three choices. Food excellent, staff very efficient. Alas the whole experience for me being in a wheel chair was made upsetting by other guests whom I presume were starving trying to push me out of the way. As most self service counters are the same height it is very difficult for me to see what is in the containers so need help (which slows things down a bit) Vowed not too go ever again? Changed my mind. This time no large party, what a deference. Staff so very pleasant and efficient. Helped me in every way including plating my meal. The meal was sumptuous. WILL go again.

Comfortable stay, excellent facilities, reasonably priced for the level of accommodation offered. Did not find any faults during the stay.Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Lincoln on business or pleasure.

Once again returned to this fab hotel for party night with friends. They had the most fab tribute act on Freddie mercury and wow really got the party going after having great 3 course meal and coffee. The whole atmosphere of this hotel with amazing staff is a place you would like to keep returning to like myself friends. Roll on next year or before.

    « Brilliant weekend away. »

We stayed primarily to visit the Xmas market on the Saturday and a chill out on the Sunday, which we did. Staff very helpful before our arrival by sending bus timetables and allocating a quiet room for us. I am a very light sleeper. Beds particularly comfortable. Modern hotel with large bedrooms, well furnished and good WiFi. All staff we came into contact with were extremely polite and very helpful. Food in the restaurant of good quality and well presented. We are thinking of returning in February next year to use the Spa facilities which looked impressive. I like to use Best Western hotels wherever possibly as I find the hotels usually suit us. Highly recommended

« Good base to visit Lincoln and surrounds »

We were visiting Lincoln for the Christmas Market and were early for check-in. Nevertheless our room was ready, we were offered a mince pie at reception and were also given an information pack with bus times into the city without having to ask. Our room was on the ground floor, it was spacious and had all the facilities we wanted including tea & coffee with biscuits, hair dryer, flat screen TV and safe. The bed was comfortable and we could have requested different pillows from a choice of three types. The leisure club has a large pool with a small jacuzzi plus sauna and steam room, although there was only a small area for relaxation which would not be any good if the pool became busy. Changing rooms are good with key lockable lockers (you are given the key), three showers but no swimsuit dryer. We didn't reserve for dinner as we thought we may stay longer in the city, so by the time we got around to it, the resaurant was full until 9pm. We therefore ate in the bar which offered the usual sandwich, salad or burger menu. The bar has comfortable seating and free wi-fi throughout the hotel means one can while away the hours with a drink and a surf, should you be so inclined. Our bar meal was served in good time despite the kitchen being very busy with restaurant diners, however, it lacked a couple of items. The burger was supposed to come with coleslaw, and the Cheese salad lacked both the coleslaw and the bread roll advertised on the menu. We had to ask for these items and received the bread roll, however, there was no coleslaw available and we were offered £1 discount per meal. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the burger which had no relish or salad, although it was well cooked. We did pay for breakfast which was excellent and well worth the £8.00 per person. Buses into Lincoln go from a stop which is just a five minute walk away through Pennell's Garden Centre car park. Buses are every twenty minutes although the last return bus is 6pm so if you wish to return later you can either take a different bus most of the way and have a 2 mile walk, or take a taxi. The bus takes around 35 minutes.

    « Great Hotel »

We stayed at the hotel as we were visiting the Christmas markets in lincoln. The hotel is easy to find and get in and out of lincoln. It's not the most picturesque location, as it's next to a main road and opposite macdonalds, but once inside the hotel, you wouldn't know. The service was second to none. Staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for - the reception team, the restaurant and the room service staff were lovely. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a lovely swim in the pool which we had to ourselves, followed by a delicious breakfast for only £8 extra. Would thoroughly recommend and we will return.

« Recent stay for Christmas Market »

This hotel is fantastic in delivering an excellent product. All the people are professional, go the extra mile to produce customer service and the quality of the food and service is also first class. We always stay here when vising the City and highly recommend it our friends and family. We have already booked again for the same period next year. Thank you again to all the staff of the Bentley Hotel Lincoln.

    « Sunday sparkle!! »

stayed here on a Sunday spa break. Wonderful welcoming staff. Room spacious, warm, spotless, lovely towels and bedding. Attentive staff in the bar and restaurant. Food was excellent. Spa facilities included spacious pool, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi pool and heated pool side beds.(sadly one was broken!!).Hotel is on a busy road, but we did not hear any traffic noise. Could not fault.

« recommended ! great place for a lincoln stay. »

Wonderful, I'd go here again. Located just outside Lincoln but within easy reach of the city and facilities. This hotel has a spa, and swimming pool/Jacuzzi and exceeded our expectations. Lovely food and welcoming staff, really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere, lighting in the hotel. Modern hotel and great facilities. Staff were very pleasant even though there was an issue with the booking on arrival, details had been missed off but they accommodated us without a problem, lovely receptionist.

    « Christmas Carvery »

We had the Christmas Carvery as part of a group. Compared to previous visits we were disappointed with the choice of meat, Beef or Pork. No sign of Turkey, considering it was the Christmas Carvery. The food although enjoyable, was only 'so so' and nowhere near as good as when we first ate here a few years ago. We waited an hour beyond when we expected to eat with no apparent reason. I doubt if we will return

    « Over night stay »

We stayed at the Bentley hotel overnight, whilst attending a function near by. The room was lovely, comfortable bed, lovely and warm, as it was freezing outside. Bathroom had a shower over the bath, and lovely soft towels. The reception staff were very helpful, friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Location was easily accessible and easy to find, plenty of car parking spaces too.

    « Thoroughly enjoyable weekend »

We have just arrived home after a lovely weekend at this hotel. Staff were friendly and professional, especially Rachel in the restaurant. The facilities were great, particularly the very decent-sized swimming pool. It made a pleasant change from some of the weird shaped pools at other hotels where swimming is virtually impossible. The quality of the food in the restaurant was excellent-it is not cheap by any means-but it was beautifully cooked and presented and well worth the cost. The chef was flexible in tweaking a dish on the menu to my particular liking. Breakfast was also good for a very reasonable price. The room was cosy with all the necessary amenities and the bed was particularly comfortable. In spite of there being three large functions on in the hotel, we were not disturbed by any noise.

    « 1st Wedding Anniversary »

We stayed at The Bentley as it is a place we have stayed many times before and were yet to be anything but impressed. The facilities were absolutely faultless as usual and the staff couldn't be anymore helpful if they tried. The room was the usual standard, brilliant. I'd definitely recommend the breakfast! Everything you could want and if you just ask, they'll make sure they provide anything that's not ?as standard.? All round brilliant experience and we will definitely be returning again.

« Full marks in every aspect. Fantastic! »

Stayed for 1 night and nothing was too much trouble. Every single staff member we came across greeted us or helped us if requested. Room was luxurious and the beds were some of the best ive ever tried. Wow! Spotlessly clean throughout. Staff also liased with staff at the Spa on our behalf which was very helpful. Breakfast next day was full English and again delicious. Highly recommended.

    « Weeklong Course »

The hotel is well presented, set back off the main road. It has a nice feel to it, nice staff and decent well laidout rooms. It has gym, spa and a swiming pool( not big enough for serious laps). The bar it has has a good choice with very friendly staff. The restaurant has a good bill of fare, but in my humblre opinion is slightly expensive; the food however is excellent. The only slight dificulty is that the wifi in my room, 106, semed to be in a deadspot; I did speak to a young lady on the front desk who said she would look into it. The hotel was full otherwise I could have been moved.

    « Returning Guest »

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and have always received excellent service, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are always clean and well serviced and are also spacious. The Spa and leisure facilities are an added bonus and make my stay that bit more enjoyable and relaxing. The hotel restaurant serves a variety of quality meals to suit all tastes and the room service menu is also very tasty. The location of the hotel is ideal in my opinion, close enough to the city to drive to, with excellent shopping. Also I always enjoy a walk across to 'Pennells' garden centre which is situated right next door to the hotel and has an extensive range of gifts, clothing, plus farm shop and café. No doubt I will return again soon!

« WISH WE COULD GIVE IT 6 STARS »

We run a nationwide charity and we visit up and down the country. This is our favourite hotel of all. It is CLEAN, the staff we have met have always been POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. The rooms have everything we need and we just come here to chill out. The pool is great - never seems too hot or too cold and the security at this hotel is top notch. You never notice any but I'm SURE its there. As I'm also sure there was NONE at another Best Western hotel in Lancashire we stayed in this summer - drunks in the corridors ALL NIGHT. Not at the Bentley you get a lovely night's sleep. Your get a great night's sleep here in a comfortable and clean bed with a good breakfast - WHATS NOT TO LIKE. See you again soon.

    « It's worth remembering that .... »

For the money there are far better hotels on offer in lincoln .... it's not central .. it's very old fashioned ... it desperately needs updating, staff are ok, but not "stand out" the place just feels like it's owned by someone who doesn't care... staffed by people that don't really care.... and continues in business despite/ not because of ....the people ... I would not stay here again ... Not nice at all... Visionary

    « A very good hotel indeed »

I have stayed here several times in recent weeks and have been very impressed. In particular, the staff here are brilliant - always cheerful and willing to help. The pool, spa and gym are well equipped and the food is hearty. Bedrooms are comfortable- but I would recommend a room which is not on the road side as they are a bit noisier. One other positive thing is that although this hotel does cater for many functions, it's layout means that bedrooms are not really affected by noise, which is a real plus if you are not involved in the festivities! I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel.

    « Rude staff »

It was our first stop in our journey from France in UK after 12h drive we decided to stop on Bentley hotel for the night. Booking the room and checking went very smooth. Room was in very decent and comfortable size, bathroom was clean and we would rate this part of hotel very well. Our disappointment is based on rude and not helpful nightshift staff. We have politely asked to be served in a bar and felt ignored. Basically we stood in a bar for 20min while staff was chatting at reception despite knowing we already asked twice to be served. When eventually we got served 20min later (the bar was empty) 2 staff members came in and midst of argument one of them ignored us as we stood in a bar, she went straight to poor herself a double Jack Daniels and said "I'm not serving them, it's not my job" and walked of with a drink for herself. After long wait there wasn't a sigh of apology and we were told that bar is getting closed at 11pm. To our surprise while we were still enjoying interesting conversation in a bar area after midnight it appeared that another guest got served without any hassle. We felt like second class citizens and we won't be back !!!!!!

    « It didn't reach my expectations »

My husband booked a surprise birthday weekend here for me as he knew I had said how lovely it was here as I have worked here in the past, so he took the leap of faith and booked it up for us for a couple of days , when we got there lady at the reception tried to charge an extra £29 on top of our stay as it was a busy weekend so it will be extra my husband went I don't think so ,I wasn't told when I booked up she quickly rectified the bill for us , When we got into the room it was clean and tidy but the bed was so uncomfortable it gave both myself and my husband a bad back and we didn't sleep very well at all , as a double room we should of had 2 of everything we didn't there was only one bath towel one bath rope so we had to ask for more. The shower wasn't easy to turn off it was stiff there was no fan in the bathroom so everything got steamed up there was a wire showing on the heater in the bathroom. There was no WiFi in the room most places these days give it to you for free . The first day we went down for breakfast we waited for a good 5 minutes someone looked at us about 3xs before we was seated the food was ok .

    « Afternoon Tea. »

My daughter in law was having a suprise baby shower. Because of the amount of ladies we had our Afternoon tea in 1 of the meeting rooms. It was just that a meeting room very sparse. My daughter in laws friends put up bunting and balloon. The room was very clean The staff had brought water jugs and glasses in time for are arrival. I table was set up for the presents and 1 for the cake. I think there was more turned up so the Staff brought out more cups and glasses. The staff where great and very helpful. The afternoon tea was set out so nice with a big selection of sandwiches and cakes. Everything was fresh. It was a brilliant afternoon. I don't have any complaints about anything. I would recommend this Hotel for afternoon tea.

    « Hotel from the 80s »

It is in desperate need of a makeover. The style of the hotel is most certainly from the 80s and the disappointing thing is nothing has been updated since it seems. Very drab and old fashioned. Breakfast was great though! A good old English breakfast never goes out of fashion!

« A real change from the chains! »

We stayed here overnight for a family event in Lincoln. Brilliant accessible room, decor's a little dated, but more comfortable than most hotel rooms. Restaurant is really stand out, we had the evening meal and breakfast. Original menu and really tasty if slightly highly priced food - though what's with all the mushrooms?! Breakfast was brilliant, good choice and freshly cooked. We got our overnight stay with breakfast for a really reasonable price and will be using The Bentley as our first choice Lincoln Hotel in future. Good location and staff were lovely too.

« Great Spa, Nice Hotel »

Really surprised this is a 3 star, in a great location, Mcdonalds opposite and just off the main road, the spa is the best thing about it, cheap treatments, was a really nice experience defo a must and a good value for money, the leisure club has a sauna, steam room, swimming pool and jacuzzi all were of a great standard and helped relax before a work meeting the next morning. The room itself was a off a good standard, good heating/ac unit but it was a bit noisy, shower could have had a bit more pressure but that is me being very particular - pillows were of varying nature soft, orthapedic etc Reception were friendly and willing to help.

« Great spa, nice hotel »

Positives - Very good swimming pool and jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, great value for the price of the trip. Hotel is clean and the room was large and comfortable. Good location off the main road but was quiet. Negatives - The fire alarm went off at 5am. We were told that someone had been smoking in a room, but we know the alarm had been tested twice the evening before so we think it could be related to that. Phone signal is a bit patchy and there was no obvious WiFi.

« Perfect weekend Spa break »

Just stayed for a relaxing weekend Spa break All facilities and room were perfect and immaculate everywhere! Genuine dedicated staff throughout our stay and very caring and conscientious, always ready to help and check everything's ok. Food in restaurants excellent too, definitely recommended any Spa treatments are a must!! Very thorough treatments and never felt rushed, treatments fully explained and very tranquil relaxing facilities, the only niggle was no direct access through the hotel into the Spa so didn't feel we could go for treatments in bathrobes provided in the rooms but the entrance is directly outside the main door for those Wahoo feel they can do this. So Well done Bentley Hotel we had a great stay and will return

    « Abusive client »

This is an excellent hotel with excellent staff. During my most recent stay I arrived for breakfast at 9:20 the restaurant was empty and was served promptly with fresh cooked warm food. A gentleman arrived at 9:35, 5 minutes after offical end of breakfast period was treated with same pleasent manner he tried to dit at largest table in the empty room which quite obviously had been set for lunch. The server very politely asked if he could sit at another table adjacent to this he did so with very bad grace and a lot disgraceful mutterings. He was served promptly with fresh cooked food as I was. When I arrived at checkout he was being abusive to receptionist and threatening her with poor review on TripAdvisor until she made some adjustment to his bill. The point is when reading poor reviews bare in mind that sometimes irrespective of comments made there are people who use this app just to be negative with no good cause.

Had a meal in the restaurant as had family staying at the hotel overnight. Staff were exceptionally friendly so tried the restaurant. Good choice of food which was delivered quickly with very helpful and chatty staff. Family said the room was beautiful and clean and chose to stay there whenever visiting Lincoln .food was exceptional

« Lovely hotel, great location, weak wifi »

The hotel is about 10 mins from the centre of Lincoln and has a good sized car park. Check in was friendly and we had a good sized room with plenty of spare power sockets and desk space. We ate in Lincoln itself but the hotel menu seemed pretty good with some nice options. Despite its lication next to a main road our room was actually quiet and we slept well. There is a reasonable gym with a variety of equipment but it doesn't open until 7 which limits the time you can spend there before work! Wifi was not very good here - my connection often timed out as though the bandwidth was just too limited. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and nice food.

« Short but most enjoyable stay »

Only spent 1 night here on a business trip but would stop here again. Hotel has a very homely feel and the staff where all a pleasure to deal with. Plenty of facilities and a really nice clean room and hotel. Breakfast very good, nice food, plenty to choose from just wished I had time for a swim and to explore all the other facilities this hotel has to offer.

    « Lovely Hotel »

Have really enjoyed reading the Manager's great responses to some reviews but I have nothing even remotely bad to say! Stayed for one night here and really enjoyed it, lovely clean smart room, very nice staff, great breakfast (the best poached eggs I've had in a long time), nice hot shower, no noise. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Can I get an amusing answer?!

We stayed in this lovely hotel over the September weekend ,it was beautiful and spotlessly clean ,bed were extremely comfortable and rooms very spacious .we had a lovely breakfast each morning which was included in the price ,also swimming pool and gym with free parking .All for 107 for 2 nights B/B .The drinks at the bar were a bit expensive .Its a twenty minute drive to the beautiful town of Lincolne ,well worth a visit to this lovely town .we would recommend it for sure .in the other hand our friends were in room 205 and didn't have the same quality of sleep due to the very busy trafic .

    « A pleasant surprise »

Well glad I arrived a bit earlier than colleagues so great opportunity to make use of the gym and pool. Luckily they sold swim suits as I forgot mine, the pool was great a good size and a great steam room too. The room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable and room quiet... a bath and shower overhead, so a nice option... the bar was comfortable and a good menu with enough choices for everyone. Restaurant looked good, a bit pricier too but more upmarket options. I had half rack ribs , wedges and coleslaw. Very good! Colleagues had scampi- great! Jacket potato with tuna and salad- good... I will definitely come back if i need to visit Lincoln again. The staff were fabulous!!

    « A vacuous relic. »

The very worst thing about this hotel is, unfortunately, something over which they have no control; the noise from the road at the back of the hotel. It really is loud. If you are a light sleeper then you should definitely consider staying elsewhere or, at the very least, ask for a room away from the road. Onto the things over which they do have control. The cleanliness and general maintenance is poor. My room has cobwebs, a dirty bathroom, curtains that are hanging off the hooks, frayed linen, I could go on. There is certainly no attention to detail. There is a general lack of enthusiasm and an air of malaise around the place. Saying that, the staff have all been mechanically friendly. Apart from overhearing a conversation conducted at reception regarding a staff issue, I haven't any reason to complain. It feels like the bare minimum has been spent on the property over the past twenty years. I believe that this hotel was perhaps above average 25 years ago. Unfortunately, standards change and improve and this hotel has been left standing and stranded.

    3
« Not as good as I expected »

This hotel was ok, but just ok. The walls are very thin and I could hear my neighbours have a domestic during the evening. I was woken by the traffic noise at 7am. I was given the wi-fi details but I was unable to log on in my room on either my phone or tablet. Not good when you need to do some work. Breakfast was fine with a reasonable choice. Staff were pleasant enough at reception and at breakfast. I was a little surprised when the lady at check in before me asked for a dinner reservation to be told the restaurant was closed but they could do a sandwich. Not ideal after a long day travelling, particularly as it was only 8.40pm.

    2
    « Disappointing »

Like most hotels in England you don't really get what you pay for. This place was definitely one of the more disappointing places. When we first arrived the woman on the desk was very un helpful and did not give us any of the usual information you require. The room was ok but out dated like most places the bathroom was really outdated and dirty. We had a meal in the restaurant which was ok but seriously not worth the money I would recommend eating any were else as nothing special. Spa had good facility's but again the staff member was just rude and un helpful. Some staff were better than others but me and my wife have said we just believe in any hotel if your not other the age of 40 your just un welcome and treated like a lower class citizen. Stay if nothing else is available but don't expect anything special. And if your in your 20s I'm sure you know it's hard to find any were that will show you respect.

« Acceptable place to stay »

We stayed at this hotel for one night as a half way point to our final destination. It is a perfectly acceptable place to stay, our room was clean, spacious and comfortable and the gentleman on the reception desk was incredibly polite, efficient and helpful. We got a good night's sleep despite the fact that the hotel was buzzing with servicemen attending the air show at Scampton the next day. There was also some kind of party on but we heard nothing and everybody behaved themselves! The spa was very nice, kids have to be out by 6.00pm which gives adults three hours to themselves prior to closing time. It was a little tired but perfectly acceptable and there are two heated tiled beds in there which were an absolute bonus! Never tried one of those before and I almost had to be dragged off kicking and screaming - they are lush! We did not eat at the hotel - there is a well known food chain very close by and also a garage where you can buy alcohol for consumption in your room. There were a couple of minor things that the hotel could improve upon: Whilst check in was very efficient, check out was slow - there were staff in the back office but nobody on the front desk. A staff member saw us waiting, ignored us and then told another staff member there was somebody at the front desk - twice (not sure she heard him the first time). We had to ask for the Wi-Fi code - we realised we did not have this until we got upstairs to our room and when we tried ringing, there was no answer the first time.

    « Weekend break »

We found the room was large, clean and the bed comfortable and quiet. My wife enjoyed the spa and the pool. We found the staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was good for our evening meals. We liked the quality of the food and could not fault the service. Will definitely use this hotel again when visiting Lincoln

    « Could do better »

My wife and I have stayed numerous times over the last 12 months and have always been more than satisfied with all aspects. However having seen recent reviews commenting on the food I felt the need to review this particular service. 2 months ago i chose a Trifle as dessert,to say it was unedible would be kind.It was watery with a cream top that had stood for a while. I will eat anything so persevered and did not complain.Noting not to have it again. On our last visit I had Chicken with what was supposed to be a potato rostie,it tasted fishy and was nothing like a rostie, this time did complain. Next morning at breakfast some of the sausages appeared to be uncooked?and the bacon had parts that weren't cooked at all and were raw possibly contaminating the cooked bits. Again I didn't say anything, depends on one's mood I feel. Wanted to take this opportunity whilst not to criticise but to view as an observer because we do like staying and overall all other aspects are generally good. Would hate to see more critical reviews based on food which is a main aspect of any hotel stay, but management need to be aware of lack of standards in this area. And it is a 4star establishment.

« Avoid the Pernod flamed King Prawn Paelle »

Before traveling I looked at the menu online and choose my main course the "Pernod flamed King Prawn Paelle with saffron rice, Spanish onion, garlic, red pepper, peas & Tomato", imagine my surprise when a received a dish with pale yellow rice mixed with peas, topped with some large tasty prawns and 2 king prawns in their shells. The rice was "watery" and had no taste, one of the king prawns in the shells was tough (over cooked) whilst the other was a little better. I explained the situation to the waitress during the meal and eventually asked for some vegetables as the rice was not edible and I left it. As I had eaten the prawns (I was hungry) I was charged about a third of the price for the meal. The rest of the party were happy with their dishes, so I suspect I was unlucky, however the dish I received was not a Paelle by any stretch of the imagination. On the positive side they made a lovely omelette for breakfast.

    2
    « Bar Meal Failure »

I visit this hotel frequently and popped in with 2 others for a Bar Meal the other night. The menu is not extensive but should have something that would appeal to most palates. I opted for the Beefburger and on first look it looked very nice but on biting into it it was apparent that the meat was still raw as it was red and oozing blood. The serving lady present agreed that it was inedible and took it back to the Chef who prepared me a fresh meal. However, by this time 20 minutes had passed and my two fellow diners had already long finished their repasts and were ready to make the move onwards. The second burger was indeed better but the chips were not (advertised as double cooked) and they tasted dry and stale (the others in my party also had this comment about their fries). One of those who accompanied me had the 'Pie of the Day - Sausage and Onion'' which was very dry with no gravy or indeed evidence of onions! I don't think we will be rushing back for a bar meal in the future.

    « Nice Hotel »

Myself and my wife stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and found it to be very pleasant , the room was very clean and comfortable , no negative comments at all , the breakfast was very nice and a good selection was on offer .. the staff were very friendly with just on exception and that was the lady who was serving at the bar when we arrived , I found her manners to be shall we say a little lacking .. certanly some customer relatons training needed there , the rest of the staff were great . There is a pool and spa but we didnt get chance to use them ...all in all a great stay with no compaints and its a good place from which to see Lincoln and the sourrounding area .

« Suitable for business overnight stay »

I stayed here overnight for business and therefore didn't spend too much time in the hotel. The room was as expected from the hotel chain and was clean. Check in was quick and went smoothly. A fair bit of choice for breakfast. I would say this was very suitable for my needs of somewhere to stay locally but if I was in the area socially I may choose somewhere with a bit of character. Pleasant stay.

« Run of the Mill »

Stayed for one night , was told I had only booked for one person on arrival, and must pay £15 extra for husband. But on my booking.com app it said two. On getting room I had no bath which also was on my booking app, so asked to be moved. Room was ok, slept well. In morning was told breakfast wasn't included, so said I would pay extra, but on receiving bill, breakfast was included. Don't be frightened to question things, as several mistakes made in a one night stay, however hotel was pleasant enough.

    4
    « Birthday weekend »

Booked for a two night stay for my partners birthday. Mainly because it had the spa attached. The hotel is a little dated but the staff are very friendly and engaging. The spa has a good selection of treatments available but the spa itself could do with some TLC. The food in the hotel restaurant was amazing and prices reasonable. The bar was on the small side and usually understaffed. Mainly the older generation staying here but lots of functions going on too like weddings, conferences etc. We probably wouldn't return and would try some where else for a spa treatments. Overall a pleasant stay.

    5
« Passing though or rather up and back! »

Excellent hotel, clean, tidy, friendly staff, Excellent breakfast. No individual wrapper bins on table - do wish all hotels had them saves them being scatter across the table at Breakfast. TV in the room was mounted flush to the wall but at 90 degrees to the bed so made difficult viewing (could have done with a pull out with rotation mount)

« Standards slipping a little for a Best Western plus... »

I've been a visitor here many times in the past but things seem to be slipping a little as far as expectations are concerned. As per my review style: Check in: Pleasant as always. Unlike a lot of Best Westerns, there's no recognition of diamond loyalty which is a shame considering how frequently I stay with BW. Moving on to... The room: Again as per BW loyalty scheme, diamond members can expect an upgrade to a superior room to what was booked. On none of the last 3 occasions has that happened, and I did check both nights on availability on line - plenty left. Also as a reward member we've recently had things changed on the scheme, where we've lost out on a few benefits in place of recognition in other ways. The first time I visited, I was very kindly blessed with bottled water in my room, and a packet of very nice crisps. The second visit, I got that on just one of the nights. This particular visit I was blessed with nothing. In fact the complementary shower gels weren't even replaced (side note, I collect these and donate them to a local women's shelter, it's the very least I can do). Shame. The bed was the least comfortable I've had in the many rooms I've had at Bentley - room 117 - though decorating work had been going on previously so possibly a renovation is in progress. So, to dinner: By far the best part of the Bentley is the restaurant and bar. Service is impeccable, the staff (especially Rhona) are fabulous. Really genuinely lovely people, very friendly and can't do enough for their customers. Food, outstanding. Beer selection isn't bad considering the small size of the bar. Great spirits selection though! Card payment is accepted at the bar though there's a minimum charge, however if you ask for one beer to be left in the tap when ordering two, staff are usually able to accommodate that. If the rating was on the restaurant and bar only it'd be a 5 for sure. Spa: Haven't used this as yet but I'm told it's good. Perhaps if I go back. Check out: Very pleasant, helpful staff. Never had a problem with the bill, or spurious charges but then again the restaurant and bar are very careful when taking orders and processing them. May come back. Undecided as yet though.

    « Cold breakfast »

The staff were very nice, but overpriced drinks, room broken tiles in bathroom, central heating cover broke. Breakfast cold, told staff but they did not seem bothered. Told reception on leaving, but all they said was sorry, no recompense. Had Lucy across the road it was great.

    « No service »

When I booked in I was handed my room key and advised that I was booked in for bed and breakfast. All good so far. When I turned up for breakfast I was told that I didn't have have it included. No problem to sort out I thought which would have been the case except the receptionist decided that I need to be patronised about the fact that she hadn't been quite clear with me. All sorted and breakfast menu looked good. Ordered some poached eggs and toast and waited for them to arrive. Still no sign of them 15 minutes later I enquired how much longer they might be. Apparently they had been cooked, put out on the buffet and we're now being eaten by a fellow guest. No apology was forthcoming, nor an offer to prepare some more and so I left as I was short of time and went to Subway. When checking out the same receptionist asked if everything had been good with my stay. Listened to my feedback and handed me a bill including breakfast. Absolutely brilliant. For anyone not interested in service: the rooms are quite large and pleasant enough, if a little dated; pool looks nice; absolutely no mobile phone service in my room (Three or EE). I won't be rushing back...

« One night stay on business »

I haven't written a trip advisor review in ages but felt the Best Western Plus, North Hykeham deserved one. When staying in Lincoln I usually stop at the Premier Inn but thought I'd give here a go for a change and I was very impressed! It's very centrally located and easy to find which is always good after a long day. My room was a good size with a nice bathroom (complete with fluffy dressing gown) a really comfy bed and tea/coffee making facilities. I loved being able to use the very well equipped fitness centre which is free to use for guests and the swimming pool looked great although I didn't make use of it. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment but will definitely give it a try another time. Overall a relaxing stay and overall fab experience. I will look forward to staying again even if it will be on business!

« Large room and good value »

The room was easily big enough to have fitted 2 large double beds, so very spacious. It was in very good condition. Staff were friendly and helpful, Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of items and the sausages were exceptional.

« Welcoming hotel with excellent service »

Had an overnight stay here to tie in with son playing a football tournament nearby. From arrival to leaving the staff and facilities were excellent, nothing was too much trouble, speedy service at reception, housekeeping and breakfast. Rest of family used pool and loved it, great choice at breakfast, room was large, excellent bunk beds in our family room and really comfortable double bed. Drove into Lincoln City Centre which took about 10 mins. Couldn't fault this hotel it really was just the job!

    « Decent Hotel »

The hotel was convenient as it was where I needed to be whilst I visited Lincoln. The hotel is welcoming, the rooms are nice and the swimming pool looks ok but didn't get chance to go for a swim. Just like any other hotel really.

« A good stop off on the way to East Anglia »

This was an acceptable one night stop over. There is a good sized swimming pool - changing rooms leave a bit to be desired however. Breakfast very good, evening meal served in the bar ordinary. Beds comfortable. Nothing to complain of but just average overall

« Bentley Hotel South Hykeham »

Very handily placed to visit family outside of Lincoln. Booked here as my wife used the same hotel last year and she was right it is 5*. Initially booked through 3rd party but easier to book direct and they were very accommodating by email to change our original dates and give us the same room grade. On arrival very warmly welcomed and shown our room on ground floor and handy for leisure suite & restaurant/ bar. Our room (112) is disabled friendly with walk in shower and assisted toilet. The room twin beds very come with tv trouser press, kettle, safe and easy chairs The bar provides hot food and the breakfast bar very nice with hot & cold buffet service. There is a separate leisure facility provided for for guests including pool, jacuzzi, steam room & sauna. All excellent and clean Will definitely rate this Hotel to my family. .

    « Good Hotel »

Stayed for a two night break and overall found the hotel to be good. Clean room with comfy bed and was well equipped. The TV signal on the in room tv wasn't the best as it kept dropping for a few seconds even but this didn't detract from our stay. Staff were friendly and the location for Lincoln and the surrounding area is good. Didn't eat in the onsite restaurant.

« Efficient and pleasant staff »

We stayed in an Executive double on the second floor. Room was large and well equipped with fast wifi. Easy access via lift from reception area. Buffet Breakfast was delicious and the staff excellent. I must say the service was paralysing as soon as we finished one element it was speedily whisked away which made us feel a little rushed. After a day at a quilting workshop we decided to head for the bar for a refreshing drink and Danish pastry. I asked for a elderflower presse. The Barman was mortified when he could find anything and even went out of his way to search the cellar. We felt very valued and throughly enjoyed our Danish pastries. Checking in and out was quick friendly and efficient. Large car park with easy access was excellent. We will definitely return. Thank you to all concerned.

Stayed here for two nights with my husband, the room was well appointed spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff friendly and efficient nothing to much trouble, breakfast was lovely buffet style just what we needed. The spa and pool clean, well presented and had everything you could want. Overall value for money a great experience will definatley use again

« Good Base for Touring »

We chose to stay at this hotel from its location - just out of town. This proved to be a good choice with free and ample car parking and a couple of budget pub-meal outlets very close by. Our room was spacious and well appointed with the usually expected extras including kettle, hair dryer etc. Wifi was readily available throughout and we achieved a fair download speed on browsing and emails. Our package did not include breakfast - note that this is often the case when booking through one of the online booking agencies. This though was not a grave concern as the garden centre adjacent to the hotel does a fabulous breakfast at a fraction of the price. We used the local bus service into Lincoln a couple of times and this proved to be a good move - no concerns about parking and the bus leaves from just outside on the main road at a cost of £2.30 each. My wife did try and use the spa facility without booking though they were fully booked - so take note if you wish to use these facilities. The pool was very good. Staff were helpful and very professional and we would not hesitate to stay again.

    « Social Function »

We recently stayed in room 113 and found both the staff and the facilities were excellent. A minor hiccup on checking in but soon sorted out by a charming young lady. The Restaurant also provided a good choice of meals at a good price. The mitred was very helpful as well and all the staff in the bar and restaurant were all very friendly.

    « Lunch »

My Mother and I called in for lunch on wed 21st June. We walked into the foyer and there were 2 people behind the reception desk. No attempt was made to greet us until i purposely made eye contact and i said' Hello' to which i received a 'Hello' back ...that was it. In a hotel i would have expected someone to ask if we were ok or could they help..but no..nothing. Good start. We wandered through to look for somewhere to eat. We could smell stale chip fat so knew we must be heading in the right direction. On entry to the 'Martini Bar' we asked if we could buy light lunch, we were given the menu. We went up to order a beef sandwich and fish bits and chips. A very strange thing happened then. We were asked to sign for our order even though we were all alone in the place ! The bar person told us that we had to sign for our order just in case we left without paying as then the monies would be taken out of his wages. The food came and the sandwich was really lovely, fresh soft bread and lovely beef. The fish bits were also nice, so no complaints about the food - good job really as nobody came to ask if it was ok! Wouldn't rush back as i felt like i smelt like an old chip pan on leaving due to the aroma of the place. I also feel the way we were asked to sign for food was more like say - actually we don't trust our customers. There's little wonder that the place is deserted.

    « A really lovely hotel »

My husband and I stayed here for one night for my husbands birthday. The staff were extremely helpful, my husband has to use a stick to walk with and the staff couldn't do enough to help him with luggage. We was offered use of the facilities also. The room was lovely. The bed was so comfortable..we ate in the restaurant that night, and the food was delicious. The staff were polite and attentive, and service was excellent. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, we found it comfortable, clean and a really really pleasant stay. We would certainly book here again, especially for the money

    « Poor Performance »

Had the misfortune of staying in room 107 at the weekend. It was a non smoking room but obviously was a smoking room in the past or the previous occupant smoke in it for the entirety of there stay, everything was stinking. The shower did not work, it had no regulation so was fully hot and could easily scald someone. I complained at the time but nothing could be done as the hotel was full. I waited a day to compose myself before writing a formal complaint. Basically I was fobbed off. They said the room had only undergone a full refurbishment days earlier, New everything! Not a chance, I was in the armed forces for 37 years so l know the smell of fresh paint nobody better. If you stay avoid room 107, you have been warned. I have stayed there before and never had an issue, however I am annoyed with the owners response and felt I had to post the review to notify customers of the issues with this room.

    « A standard roadside hotel »

Located immediately adjacent to the main Lincoln/Newark road the A46 about 6 miles from Lincoln the hotel feels a little dated. Promotes itself as a spa destination but this was in a separate building not controlled by the hotel. Rooms are adequate but a little dated and our room on the 1st floor had no real view but looked out onto a glass pitched roof to an inner courtyard. Breakfast was ok - buffet style - and all the food was hot which makes a change.Adequate for our needs but a little ore expensive that it should have been.

« Quietest hotel I have ever stayed in »

Considering there were 180 people there for a wedding, I was expecting some night noise, i.e. Loud voices in corridors, slamming doors etc. Non of it. Had a great nights sleep even though my room was facing the main road. There something called a pillow menu so you can have your choice of different pillows. Very clean room with the usual tea and coffee provided. Very nice, friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

    « Fabulous stay! »

My husband and I visited the hotel on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. We stayed on a Sunday night so took full advantage of a quiet spa. Lovely swim followed by use of the jacuzzi , sauna and steam room. Bliss. We then had a couple of drinks in the bar before heading in to the restaurant for a meal. No it's not the cheapest of food but you do get what you pay for and all three courses were delicious. A real treat! A special thank you to Rachel who served us who was attentive, efficient and just lovely. After a comfortable nights sleep we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast- with Marmite- the mark of a quality hotel my husband says. Lol. So all in all a much needed treat.Thank you. Can't wait to return.

« HOTEL AND STAFF ARE GREAT »

The carvery here is really good, with really good veg. Also the breakfast is excellent with lots of fresh fruit, like grapes and strawberries. If you need to make an early start they start here with breakfast from 6.30. We like it here, we just keep returning.

« Good Facilities and location »

The BW Bentley is a good location if you want somewhere cheaper to stay for Lincoln. You will need a vehicle to get anywhere as although on outskirts of the City, the bus service is poor. The Hotel has a good Gym and Swimming Pool and if not on the road side, is quite and well appointed. If on business on your own, the food offering is not the best. Either an expensive restaurant of Lounge bar with unusual layout and a poor choice of food. Luckily there is a Brewers Fayre, Hungry Horse or McDonalds over the road.

« Best is Best at Bentleys »

This was our second stay at BW Bentleys Hotel. My wife and I stay for the one night 3/6 and enjoyed a most comfortable well equipped room 238. I must say this has to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in the price range. On this occasion apart from another fantastic breakfast we decided to have a evening meal in the restaurant. The quality of the food we ordered and the excellent service provided, proved to me that you don't have to pay exorbitant prices to fabulous service and food. Well done to all of the staff who gave gold star service and we look forward to returning to the Bentley again.

« Good value and recommended »

As always I am away on business and first time staying in the Newark area. I always book Best Western Hotels with central booking over the phone and I have to say the lady I spoke to was lovely and so helpful. OK now about the hotel. The lady at reception was very nice, efficient and the check process was quick and simple, no silly ANPR parking to worry about which is nice. The room is clean and comfortable with a desk in a little alcove, be careful not to bang your head, I did, twice, I can be a little slow on the up take :-) The shower was really nice. The leisure facilities are excellent for a hotel with plenty of equipment from tread mills to stepper and bikes. Plenty of weights too. There is a nice 15 mtr pool with sauna and steam room. The pool looked so nice I even had a swim after my run, sauna and steam. Made the most of it!!. The gym guy could have been a little more smiley, bad day maybe. Dinner consisted of bar food, home made lasagne, this was a huge portion with chips, salad and garlic bread x 4. Way to much for me but very tasty. Bar staff were very friendly and helpful, both ladies came across as really enjoying being here. Highly recommended as a good business stay hotel.

    « MIDWEEK LUNCH »

Just been to The Bentley for a lovely 3 course midweek lunch with a friend. We were treated to a lovely tasty meal at just short of £20 each including a soft drink. The menu has about 4/5 starters, 5 mains and desserts. We both chose pate to start, served with toast, chutney and salad, we then had roast lamb as mains, this was served with roast and mash potatoes and 4 veg. The desserts were tasty too. I had apple lattice and custard but my friend had a gateau type that did look very good. The service was excellent, not rushed, polite and friendly. The staff were all helpful and welcoming. I haven't eaten at the Bentley for many years but I will definitely go again soon. Would highly recommend.

« Great Base For Visiting Lincoln »

We stayed at the hotel for one night on the 28th May 2017. This hotel is a great base if you are thinking of visiting Lincoln, it is only a 10 minute drive away or £10 each way in a taxi. The staff were very helpful & pleasant. The double room we stayed in was very clean & very comfortable. We did not have lunch or dinner at the hotel but, from what we saw & could smell, the food would have been lovely. We had breakfast the next morning & this was very tasty and very well presented. We used the pool & sauna facilities, these were also very clean & tidy. All in all, we would definitely stay here again on another visit to Lincoln & would recommend anyone stay here too. Thanks for reading my review & have a pleasant stay here.

« In need of some TLC »

We stayed at the Bentley Hotel for one night as we wanted a good value hotel with a leisure facilities that was a short drive from the city centre. The facilities of the hotel are really good, it has a nice pool with a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym, an on site restaurant, a 24 hour bar and free parking, reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel however feels like it's stuck in a time warp. It is very dated and is need of a revamp to make it feel more modern, it's not to the same standard of other Best Western Plus hotels I have stayed in. Our room was a good size but very basic, the furniture was very old fashioned, old carpet, stained vinyl in the bathroom, I'm not sure how old the bed is but it was very uncomfortable and creaky, and seemed very small for a double. I think with a lick of paint, new branding, some modern wall art, furniture and new beds this hotel has a lot of potential.

    « Smoky dump »

I have stayed in many hotels over the years, and this ranks among the very worst ever. Our confirmation booking informed us that this was a non smoking hotel. How wrong could that possibly be, surely it wasn't allowed these days anyway ? Well this hotel does allow smoking, and also puts non smokers alongside them. We were placed in an annexe through 2 fire doors. A total of about 8 rooms, 5 of which allowed smoking in the room. The smell was bad when we arrived, but we thought that this might have come from people smoking outside. When we left the room after freshening up, we thought that it had become worse, but by the time we returned to the room the aroma, for a non smoking couple was disgusting. We had settled into the room by this time and did not want the upheaval of having to move, although this was offered. I find it amazing that smokers are allowed at all, but to impose their smell on non-smokers is beyond acceptable. If they have to have them, surely the whole annexe should be smoking ? The restaurant was overpriced and resembled a Victoria Wood sketch scene. I thought I had walked in to a scene from Acorn Antiques. Food was ok, but nothing special, and surely the mushrooms could be fresh, not tinned ? Couldn't get service in the bar after our meal, no staff. Very disappointed and will definitely not ever return.

« Better service than The Dorchester »

My family and friends stayed here for 3 nights for my daughters wedding, The rooms are all spotlessly clean the food is great but I have to say this hotel has the best staff iv ever come across nothing is to much trouble for them, although my daughters wedding wasn't at the hotel she left from there to go to the church the morning of the wedding when the bouquets arrived for her and her 11 bridesmaids she was in tears they weren't what she had ordered at all Clair the manageress came to the rescue not only finding a florist to redo them but making sure they were delivered back in time, I can not praise this hotel and staff enough, carol the owner is a wonderful lady and this establishment is a credit to her. I would recommend this hotel to anyone it is the best there is and I have stayed all over the world, it takes a lot to impress me but this place is above and beyond all expectations

    « Disappointing stay »

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding Anniversary. Due to a wedding party taking over the whole of the only bar in the hotel we were put into a small cramped room to eat our lunch. Our room was not ready due to late check outs from the wedding party. We were however upgraded to a bridal suite at no extra cost. We found this room ok but the furniture was very tired and it was nothing special. Our evening meal was also a let down. it was quite expensive for what it was. Would not recommend.

    « Choir tour »

Our choir recently stayed here for 5 nights, as part of our tour of Lincolnshire. I cannot speak for all in our party, but personally I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here (with one very minor niggle - more of which later). My room was comfortable and, although near the road, the traffic noise was minimal (might be more difficult in hot weather if you opened the window). Our party had a separate dining room and the food was superb, as was the service. Water jugs were replenished without having to ask, etc. All plans to stick to my diet soon went out of the window! If there was a problem reported to reception, then someone was there almost immediately to try and rectify it. The staff were, without exception, friendly, helpful and efficient. The spa facilities were also good and clean, and the pool was a decent size. Lovely fluffy towels, as they were in the room. The one, very minor, niggle : there appeared to be a "smoking room" almost opposite mine (106). I thought that smoking was not allowed in public buildings any more? Maybe I was imagining it then, when I walked through the double doors to my room, that I could smell smoke on more than one occasion?? However, we had a very successful and enjoyable tour with our choir, helped greatly by our stay in your lovely hotel.

« Not what we expected »

Stayed one night after reading reviews but was disappointed. Good points - friendly attentive staff and rooms were clean, but... Booking was wrong as they did not have us down as having paid for breakfast, we thought this was just a one off error but then found another couple in same position. In our case it was quickly corrected. We had paid for an executive room, but it was dark and tired looking with dark stained carpet, dark old fashioned furniture, boring decor and sealant peeling off around the sink etc , in need of a refurb. The bed was rock hard and the wardrobe smelt so my husband wasn't keen to hang up his jacket. Overall the room was well cleaned but was not inviting. We decided to have a sandwich in the bar for lunch to save time.Mine was fine, but my husband's had been made with old hard bread and he had to return it.This was replaced but the bread was still a little stale and he was not impressed with the roast beef filling. We should have learnt our lesson. We went into Lincoln and meant to eat there, but we were tired and thought we would risk an evening meal in the restaurant. Well I don't know if we hit a bad night, but it was one of the worst meals ever and not cheap. Previous reviews had praised the food so we were expecting something a bit better. We both had the goats cheese soufflé, which didn't taste of cheese at all and was like a piece of white rubber sitting in a cream coloured sauce. I rather liked the sauce but neither of us liked the soufflé. For the main course I had beef bourgignon with Irish champ and vegetables and my husband had braised silverside with Yorkshire pudding. Both were served in soup bowls swimming in gravy. I like gravy and just as well I like mushrooms as I have never seen so many in a dish and could not eat it all. The steamed vegetables were unpleasant, chopped crunchy swede and carrots with a few beans, cauliflower and broccoli. My husband fared worse. There was a huge circle of beef, the like of which I have seen served as cheap pub roasts, it certainly was not braised. This was in a soup bowl of mushrooms and gravy with something meant to be a Yorkshire pudding. It was so tough he couldn't cut it and it looked like it had been cooked several times before. He did complain and was offered a replacement Yorkshire but by then he had had enough of the main course. As he was still hungry he ordered pudding of pear and blueberry cobbler with custard. It wasn't a cobbler but a tasteless sponge with a watery custard. I was persuaded to have a pannacotta against by better judgement and was given a tiny white pannacotta which only tasted of slightly sweet cream, I don't know whether it was meant to be flavoured, and a dob of red stuff and 3 raspberries. It is a long time since we have had such a poor meal in a restaurant, at least we enjoyed the wine and the waitress was lovely. We did express our disappointment with the food but do not like making a fuss in public. We would have fared better at the McDonald's across the road.

« Decent hotel with friendly staff and but overall adequate »

Stayed here for one night. Got room with two single beds. Room and bathroom were clean and tidy and staff at the reception was very friendly. Hotel is located near other facilities (Brewers Fayre, MacDonald and Pennell's Garden). Free parking, free wifi and TV in the room (FreeView). There's also a bar and dinning area in the hotel which servers hot food - didn't try either so can't review. The breakfast was fine, buffet breakfast (eggs, beans, cereals, fruit, etc). If you don't book breakfast with the room it will cost about £11 per head. I would recommend the breakfast at Pennell's Garden center instead - same style but costs £9.50ish. The bad points about my stay: the room i stayed in had very bad sound insulation - my room window faced the main road and i could hear every car that drove by and also guests in other rooms. The bed was terrible - way too soft and suck right in - didn't get a good night sleep at all. Maybe the double/king size beds would be better. Next time i will definitely speak to the staff to insure i stay in a more suitable room. The wifi in the hotel wasn't great - my connection would drop out every few minutes and the speed was around 1mb.

    « Excellent weekend »

Went with my wife on a re-union (14 of us). Easy check in, lovely room with all amenities including excellent and powerful shower over bath. Room was spotless and bed very comfortable. Nice Bar , wine reasonably priced by the bottle. Ate both evenings in the Hotel Restaurant and the quality of the food was commented on by all. All the staff were very attentive, polite and helpful which impressed us all. Definitely would return to and recommend to anyone.

    « Business-like and perfectly adequate. »

Staying here to escape building work at home. Daughter and I booked a twin room, although the beds were pushed together so it was a lot more like a double. Everything in the room was clean and functional, although a bit like every other hotel we've ever stayed in. It would be difficult to distinguish this hotel from one in Exeter or Aberdeen. Main complaint was the price of the in-house food, very, VERY expensive, as was the difference between the weekend and weekday rate - this is obviously a business hotel geared towards businesspeople who want somewhere serviceable and anodyne whilst away from home, and it is very successful in that. The staff were pleasant enough, but we had to leave after two days as they couldn't find a room to extend our stay and the room-only price had doubled from my initial online booking. We ended up going up to Longdales House at Bishop Grosseteste University and that was a much more personable experience! Best thing about The Bentley is that it has a reasonably priced pub for food within walking distance, so we did that!

    « Single night »

At first a difficult to find hotel on the main road into lincoln. A larger sign might be useful (or maybe I'm just a bit blind). Nice large car part and reception a good standard. Room was nice for a single night stay with a good size bedroom and bathroom. The bar was fine as was the Lancashire sausage ciabatta for dinner

« No complaints from me »

This was a really nice place, couldn't fault it at all. Rooms clean and beds comfortable, good showers, free wifi. A big shout out to the breakfast staff who were just LOVELY, so welcoming and smiley, made you really feel at home and comfortable as I can sometimes find breakfast in hotels a bit daunting. Didnt use the restaurant in the evening (went to the hungry horse next door to our shame but it was cheap and cheerful) but I am sure it was just as good as breakfast. The pool, jacuzzi etc were really quiet, relaxing and clean. We had a great time visiting Lincoln too. Only downside was we were in room 101 but we weren't forgotten and it was really close to the pool.

    « Pleasant weekend stay »

We stayed here for 3 nights over the Easter weekend. The room was fine, with comfortable bed, and a pillow menu. Robe was provided and you could ask for an extra one if you needed it. The breakfast was really good with good quality ingredients, and the fruit included raspberries, strawberries and fresh mango, rather than 'fillers' such as apple - although there was apple in it too. We used the swimming pool, sauna and steam room and also took advantage of the spa for a massage, which was lovely, and included a glass of wine! The best thing about the hotel really was the excellent service provided by all of the staff, who were smiley, pleasant and helpful. We'd be happy to stay here again.

« Good Hotel and Staff »

Visited for 2 nights for early Easter weekend. Had an executive suite which was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable and we had a sofa as well. All staff throughout were excellent. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very good and one the next night in the bar which was also good and plentiful. 5 miles outside the centre of Lincoln but also used the pool facilities which were also very good and clean. Went to bed early one night and got woke up by other guests loud laughing and what seemed to be children running around. However as this was for a few minutes prior to 10pm at which time the noise stopped we felt it was not an issue. Will return as Lincoln seemed to have a lot to offer as well as a good hotel.

    « Safe bet »

This hotel delivers what it should. It's clean, comfortable, and reasonable value. Friendly staff, good size room and a leisure club. The latter is a little tired but the pool is a good size - on our visit everything was busy - a mix of members and guests so not too relaxing. Breakfast was ok - but again quite busy. No major complaints would be happy to return if in the area.

    « Great food »

We stayed here with my parents for an Easter weekend break. The hotel is clean and tidy. The staff are all very helpful. The food is well above average of what I would expect in a best western. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and they were all great. The decor is a little dated in some of the rooms, but it doesn't take away from the great stay.

« Sunday Lunch in the Carvery »

Booked a table for lunch in the Carvery arriving at 2pm, we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table. The restaurant was very clean and the service was brilliant, when we finished the first course the waitress came across and cleared our table without us having to wait and we went to the carvery for our main course. The chef who carved the joints was extremely friendly, and plenty of vegetables to choose from, the roast potatoes were perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I have not tasted roast potatoes like that for ages. Overall excellent food and service. Highly recommended.

    « A lovely hotel »

The room was excellent, the staff brilliant and the ambiance superb. One criticism (which is minor) was there is no lounge to relax in only a very busy bar area with limited seating. The restaurant is lovely and the food is excellent.

    « Great »

My husband and I had planned on going to Newark antique fair, so the search was on to find somewhere near for a few nights. This hotel popped up. The reviews were very good and for a good reason too! Yes a tad dated in the hotel rooms but everything was clean and tidy and well catered for. The bed was super comfy, even if you had to take a running jump to get on it, a little high. Staff very friendly and informative on where to go in Lincoln etc. Breakfast very good with a good choice to suit all tastes. Wifi throughout hotel was good. Even though we didn't use the leisure facilities we had free use of them. There's also a spa too which looked nice. All in all it would be a place I would recommend and use again when in the area.

« Overnight and family lunch »

I picked this hotel yet again for my family to stay whilst we celebrated a birthday. It's always a comfort to know that the standard will be good in the rooms and restaurant. The family enjoyed a swim in the pool so don't forget your costumes. Sunday we sat down to a buffet luncheon, three meats available, beef, chicken and pork, beautifully cooked, piping hot and plenty of it. The sweet trolley is exceptionally good so don't fill up. Downsize - service a bit sparse and not the attention to detail that was expected, perhaps too few of them since we were located in the outer room. Good value for money overall.

    « Avoid »

Not a budget hotel chain, but budget rooms and service. Shower wouldn't turn off properly, small tv in room, bar left unattended quite often and a sign put up directing you to reception if you wanted a drink, unhelpful staff in leisure facilities who where more interested in cleaning out a cupboard than serving customers.

« Nice hotel excelent pool »

I came here for a business trip the hotel was nice the rooms big. I was given a disabled room that meant everything was low that could be a pain as I am well over 6 foot. The spar was just the job and the breakfast was nice. The rooms are a good size. The corridors where full of pictures of the carribean that was nice to help take my mind of the fact that I was in Lincoln.

    « Fantastic »

We stayed for a short weekend break. The room was huge, very comfortable bed and the robes were so fluffy and comfy. We had a room only tariff but we opted for breakfast on the Sunday. It was lovely with fresh hot food plentiful and topped up constantly. Only thing I wish we had realised was that you could have ordered omelettes. The hotel is a short drive from the city centre. I would work out parking before you set off, we found it tricky to find a car park. We used the pool which was lovely, the hot beds were so relaxing. The sauna and steam room were snug but you're not in them long. We would definitely return.

    « Decent hotel »

Stayed here for one night. On the plus, plenty parking, great, attentive reception staff, room sufficient. On minus, cld do with decent hairdryers in rooms, not hard to do! Wld not rec eating in Martini bar. We had cajun chicken wraps. Shld be called chicken wraps, not a sniff of cajun! Bland and not worth 8.95! Becs of this went nxt door to garden centre for breakfast, which cld not fault. Great portions, reasonable and quick service.

    « Great Carvery »

A friend and I went here for the Sunday Carvery. We received a warm welcome and a nice table in the lovely room off the main restaurant. The food was excellent with a good choice of meats, veg, roasties etc. The guy who served us the meats was really friendly as were the waiting staff. We were given time to have a break before the amazing desset trolley was brought to us. All in all a really nice lunch. Good food, lovely staff and very nice atmosphere. Will definately be back for seconds.

    « Excellent Customer Service »

Stayed at the Bentley for 2 nights on Monday 21st. I am an employee of Best Western and on my arrival my expectations were exceeded. I was checked in by a lovely blonde girl (sorry unsure as to what her name is), she was very welcoming, approachable and told me everything I needed to know about the hotel. Not only did I feel she cared about me as a guest but that she would go out of her way to make my stay extra special. I also spoke to Sophie who was lovely too. They both were very professional and kind to me and made me feel very welcome! Excellent customer service! The hotel itself has every amenity you may need during your stay and luxuries. The leisure club is a fantastic facility, very clean and well maintained. My room was an executive and I was very impressed with it. Very big! It had everything I could've needed in it and more! The hotel is in an easy location to get to the main bypass in Lincoln and to the city centre. Free parking too which is always a bonus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! I was not let down and the service from the reception staff was perfect!

    « Family gathering after a funeral »

After a friends funeral in Lincoln today we were all invited back to the Bentley hotel (best western) for a drink and something to eat. The staff were really nice, worked hard to keep us all happy and we all had a lovely post funeral wake for our dear friend. We had a large room which was laid out lovely. The buffet was excellant and we couldn't have asked for better really. We'll done Best Western. Recommended.

    « Great weekend break »

Well situated on the outskirts of Lincoln. Friendly staff and lovely food. The beds were very comfy and the rooms spacious. Only problem we had was getting connected to the wifi, went to reception and they sorted it out for us. Pool and gym were great. Would use this hotel again.

    « Wow, what a great offer »

Stayed here on the dip dine and dream offer, available on Sunday night stays. Room fantastic and spacious, fully equipped with all you would expect in a high class hotel. Full use of the spa facilities which are very good and lots of treatment offers available if you want to go that bit further. Food fantastic as well as the friendly and very helpful staff. Resturaunt staff very polite and friendly with very high standards. The room and bed very comfortable. Will certainly return if we see the offer again. Fantastic place with Lincoln very close by.

    « Mum's 90th birthday - fantastic! »

The Bentley Hotel has been my mum's favourite place for lunch for many years and for her 90th birthday this year, she wanted to spend it here with all her family around her and this is just what we did! So yesterday, the girls (my sister, 3 daughters, niece and myself) had afternoon tea in the bar, which was yummy! Then the gents (nephew and 2 partners) joined us for lunch today, which was as delicious as always. As a surprise, we also booked the Lauren suite for mum to stay last night with my sister, which brought a few (happy) tears! All in all, a thoroughly lovely weekend, with family travelling from Lincoln, Nottingham, Sheffield and Newcastle. All the staff were great as always, with nothing being too much trouble and every part of our celebrations being catered for just as we'd requested. Thank you to Carole and the team for another successful event and making mum a very happy lady!

    « 5 STAR »

Travel a lot with work and with a new depot in Lincoln i was booked into the Bentley. First review i have ever left for a hotel and i stay away from home on a regular basis in all the well known chains. The Bentley though is something different. On arrival let me be honest it does not look anything special. But what it lacks on the outside it more than makes up for it on the inside. 1. Exceptionally clean room. 2. Staff are very friendly. 3. First rate service. It feels very much like a smaller more family run concern you get treated that well. NOW FOR THE EXTRA SPECIAL. The food is of the highest quality. Something i was not expecting but i have to say in my 10 years of travelling for the company i work for its the best food i have ever had in a hotel. And to top it off the staff are of the first order. I shall be making excuses just to stay over in Lincoln for work again more often. If you need somewhere to stay in Lincoln i can highly recommend the Bentley. That impressed i am sat writing this in my hotel room. 5 STAR

    « Expensive, unfriendly staff, »

Avoid this hotel if you can. The hotel was not full, but I was nevertheless allocated a disabled room, with shower I had to literally kneel under, and a basin so low, I could hardly reach it at 6 foot 1. The hotel response was that they allocate all rooms on a rota basis and unless a disabled room is specifically requested, then the disabled rooms are allocated as if normal rooms. At £85 per night without breakfast, I believe I should be entitled to a room which is comfortable and suited to my needs as opposed to having disabled facilities including a rusty old shower seat, in a visibly disabled bathroom, I simply did not need or request. Restaurant was mediocre for quality of food and service, with untrained staff and very expensive for what you got. I was particularly unimpressed with their machine prepared instant coffee at £3.25 per cup. Yet another rip off establishment - there are other much better places a short distance away in Lincoln City itself, that will not seek to rip you off or leave you feeling that you have been ripped off. Barman rude and atmosphere strained in bar and public areas. Staff clearly oppressed, as they were on edge and not particularly friendly or receptive to customer needs or requests. The ground floor of the hotel stunk of smoke, leading to my room. I was later told that the hotel have rooms where residents can smoke - unbelievable, especially when you can smell it in the corridor. Horrible. I would be very reluctant to use this hotel again, although it is well located for road networks into Lincoln.

    « Always a good stay »

Can't go wrong if you are looking for a nice clean friendly hotel in the Lincoln area. I mainly stay here while on Business and have stayed her a lot and find it meets my needs. The restaurant offers a great menu and so does the bar. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and can't do enough for you.

« Charity ball and stay over »

Although we live in lincoln we decided to stay over night because our friends were staying, so we could make the most of our time together , the hotel is kept to a good standard all facilities are clean and tidy the food at the night time event was a little simple and some people said theirs was a bit cool, it was a good quality and presented well. Room was a good standard with plenty of room, we were on the side of the bypass so could hear the traffic going past but still slept ok .

    « September 24th 2016 »

Arrived very early not expecting to be able to check in 10.45 am very warm welcome by reception, and our rooms were ready. The room was huge and very well equipped, & exceptionally clean & fresh - a credit to housekeeping team. We eat in the restaurant, which was run in an old fashioned way, staff very attentive Jade & Rachael looked after us very well, breakfast following morning, excellent choice looked after me in particular with my Lactose free milk & my own bread although was very impressed with the quality of Gluten free roll with dinner. There was a lot of sauces with the food which I can no longer eat so was steak 2 nights running, but cooked perfectly as were the poached eggs for breakfast. Pool & Spa were very chilled water lovely & relaxed. Should you wish to go into Lincoln by taxi takes about 20 minutes £10.30 downside over an hours wait. Thanks to all the staff - Great Weekend

« Nice enough but corridor stank of smoke »

It was a nice enough hotel and the rooms were pretty roomy but the corridor to our room from reception stank of smoke. There are smoking rooms along it (how archaic) and they had done nothing to stop the smell from leaching out into the corridor. If you're gonna have smoking rooms at least put them at the back of the hotel where no one else is subjected to their stink. Other than that it is a nice hotel.

    « Pleasant stay »

The hotel staff in all areas are excellent, really welcoming and friendly. The restaurant food was good and reasonable. The bedroom was comfortable and quiet. We had a good breakfast with plenty of choice. The only reason I didn't give 5* is because the decor is very dated but clean and tidy.

    4
    « Spa night »

My best friend and I visited here for a spa break. Spa day, 3 course meal, night in the hotel. We had a great time and a right laugh. We had the whole spa to ourselves all day, the meal was second to none and the hotel room was clean and comfortable. Great price too! I intend to bring my husband here for the same thing for a well needed break from reality.

    « Very Relaxing Stay »

We stayed here for our fourth visit using as a base to explore the local area. We find the hotel very relaxing with excellent quality dinners that would be much more expensive in a city centre restaurant. The staff were all helpful and friendly and we'll definitely come back. It was even better that the bar didn't allow the feral children fro the wedding reception to come in so we had a quiet haven from the noise!

    « A brilliant couples getaway »

Me and my boyfriend went for a weekend away to this fab hotel. The rooms have air con which was great considering the hot weather at the time. Theres also a great pool with a hot tub, sauna, steam room and these strange heated sunbeds. In the rooms you get a kettle with tea and coffee, sweeteners, brown and white sugar. Room service is available! There is a gym above the pool which is free while you stay, as is the pool itself. Me and my boyfriend had a lovely time! There is also a food hall and bar, but we didn't use those. It looked nice though. Right next door to the hotel is serveral restaurants and a McDonalds as well as a Garden Centre. I would highly recommend this Hotel :)

« Lovely hotel and friendly staff »

Clean, comfortable with helpful and friendly staff. The food was good with an excellent bar menu as well as the main dining menu. My only complaint is that the pillows were all hard and lumpy and the duvet was crushingly heavy! However, these are only minor niggles and wouldn't stop me from staying there again, although I would take my own pillow!

    « Pleasant Stay »

Lovely hotel, very friendly helpful staff. Room was comfortable, well decorated and clean. There's a lift if you need it. Usual tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer ( this may depend on what type of room you are in), modern TV. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Excellent carvery lunch. »

Arrived for lunch after pre-booking. Good reception and pleasant ambience in the restaurant. Nicely laid table, water jug etc. Drinks order and first course request taken promptly. Lovely soup for my wife, ham terrine for me, tasty! Onto carvery, good range of meats, fish etc available on the menu, lovely spread of vegetables all cooked fresh. Decided on a sweet, large selection of cheesecake's, trifles and fresh fruit salad all made in the kitchen, delicious. Pot of coffee to finish. Best local lunch for a long time, staff attentive and helpful but not overbearing. Give it a try, reductions on price for over 50's.

    « Average Hotel - outdated »

No issues with check in, friendly staff. Room a decent size, but all seems a bit outdated. Hot water seems to be a issue, shower was not nearly hot enough. Didn't eat here, prefer to go into Lincoln by the Waterfront, but had a drink and the deco in the bar seemed outdated.

    « My Stay »

The hotel is early 80's in décor. It is beside the motorway and as such it is very noisy. The room had a odour of urine and the window opened up I inch. The breakfast cooked items looked like they were cooked the night before. The restaurant food I had was mostly bland in taste. One waiter addressed me continually as "my lady" which drove me insane and everyone said "are WE" ready to order - there was only myself.. With so many hanging plants in the warm humid evenings they stank of fertiliser and there were wasps all around the car every morning.

« My favourite place to stay in Lyncoln »

To be fair, the Bentley Hotel is on the edge of Limcoln, not right in it. A lovely hotel with pool and spa and wonderful breakfasts. The Maitre D was very attentive and we were well looked after. The hotel room was spacious and clean. We overlooked the main road this time, but the double glazing did its job and we were undisturbed by traffic. The guy who checked us in talked at a million miles an hour as if he couldn't wait to be rid of us, but no matter. All in all, a good short break away.

    « Lovely, relaxing stay »

We stayed only one night on Friday, 2nd September, 2016 and have to say from checking in to checking out, our stay was excellent. At check in, reception were very informative. Our room was on the ground floor and although facing the busy road, we did have air conditioning so that wasn't a problem. The room was quite large and clean. We used the pool and jacuzzi which was lovely. We had a drink in the bar afterwards and staff very friendly. We decided to eat in the restaurant that night and so glad we didn't have a starter as the main course was huge!! I had chicken with chips and salad and my husband had steak, chips and salad. He had 3 massive onion rings, he could only manage one of them. We did want cheese and biscuits afterwards but we had no room. We had to leave some of our main meal as there was just too much and we both have a good appetite!! Had a quiet, peaceful night, although the duvet was a bit thick for us. We had breakfast the next day, again, staff very informative and friendly. All cooked lovely. To sum up, loved this hotel and very friendly staff. As we love Lincolnshire, I'm sure we will stay here again as a treat.

    « High Standard Hotel »

The hotel stay was for 2 nights and the standards throughout were excellent. Staff friendly and courteous at all times. Let down by smell of tobacco smoke, first occasion illegal smoking on second floor not policed, second occasion was ground floor where I was informed they do have smoking rooms! Although uncomfortable, this did not detract from an overall excellent rating.

« Fantastic stop over break. »

The welcome was warm and friendly, staff very helpful. The room was large clean and quiet. The bathroom had a great shower and all toiletries were included. The swimming pool a definite bonus very warm water, jacuzzi and hot beds also a steam room (although we did not use it. The restaurant in the evening had a fantastic menus and had dishes to suit all pockets. We opted for the more expensive menus but the food was perfect and wine was served at the right temperature. The staff could not have been more helpful. We did have a problem, but it was dealt with within minutes. First rate hotel we would definitely like to stay again

« Typically good quality from a Best Western hotel »

Like all of the many BW + hotels I've stayed in both in the UK and USA, this is of a similarly high standard. Everywhere was very clean, all the staff were friendly and helpful (organised a taxi for my wife and I at short notice) and the price is reasonable, especially when you consider the facilities. Pool, gym and spa and beauty room. Breakfast was excellent. Buffet, so you could have as much or little as you wanted. The Lincolnshire sausages were especially tasty !! When visiting Linclon, would definitely stay here again.

    5
    « Wonderful Stay »

We booked this Hotel for its position and Spa. It was perfect for a family trip to Lincoln. Even with the Hotel being so close to the main road the bedrooms are very quiet. The food and facilities are excellent. The Hotel was clearly very busy with a wedding party - but we were still treated well as they have plenty of staff, who are so helpful. The Spa was lovely and made the whole stay a very relaxing experience.

    « Excellent customer service »

Stayed at the hotel on 20 august and throughout the stay customer service was second to none. « Terrible nights sleep ...or lack of it »

This hotel is on the side of the A46 which is a very busy road 24 hours a day. Despite requesting a quiet room, we ended up with a superior room which faced the main road. Even though I am partially deaf, the noise from the road, really spoilt this visit, and resulted in a very poor sleep. We ate in the restaurant, which if you don't like onions or garlic you will be struggling to find much choice. Food was ok but nothing special. Did mention to the receptionist that if I was stopping at a premier inn, I would be looking for a refund as they guarantee a good nights sleep, but this just fell on deaf ears....no pun intended. We do like the best western brand but wont be recommending this one, due to vehicle noise, very disappointing.

    « Dip,Dine and Dream! »

Stayed one night two weeks ago on the Dip,Dine and Dream offer which is superb value for money. Check in was very friendly and took no time at all. My request for a quiet room away from the noise of the by-pass was no trouble at all to the receptionist and the Executive room was large and very nicely appointed. We did indeed have a 'dip' in the afternoon and enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi pool too. Dinner was really enjoyable and represented excellent value as part of this offer. we chose to have steak in a sauce (small supplement) and it was beautifully tender. the puddings were sizeable, delicious and beautifully presented. Could have had three courses but could only manage two! Quality of the drinks was high although a little bit on the expensive side. As it was a beautiful day we sat outside in the afternoon with a glass of wine. The only negative is that the outside seating overlooks the car park. It would be a real plus if there could be some tables and chairs in a more attractive area of the grounds. (just a suggestion). Slept well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good with everything you could wish for. Tea and toast brought to you, self service for all other items. The staff were all very nice in the Dining room at both meals. All in all this was a most enjoyable little treat and as we only live an hour away we shall be doing this again!!

« Excellent value but reception can be away with fairies »

The room on ground floor was air conditioned, spacious and luxuriously furnished. Reception was a ghost portal for awhile but pleasant and helpful when she appeared from duties in a back room with security monitors. Dinner was too expensive for me but breakfast was grand.

    « Overnight stay »

Stayed last night after a family birthday get together. Room clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast delicious with usual choices of cereals, pastries, full English etc. Staff serving breakfast were friendly and courteous and organised. Spa facilities but we didn't use. Two down sides to the visit, our room was very close to the dual carriageway and the traffic noise clearly heard even through the glazed Windows. I woke at 6.30 and couldn't get back to sleep due to the noise. I mentioned to reception on checking out and although apologetic suggested the next time I stay to request a quiet room!!! If I had known before hand, I would have. The second point was, smoking rooms next to non smoking rooms and the corridor stank of cigarette smoke. Suggestion : put all smoking rooms on same corridor with good ventilation rather than intermixing.

    « 3D package 5 star value »

This was our fourth stay at the Bentley and it never lets us down _ we took the Sunday night 3D package Dip =use of the pool and leisure facilities, D =dine with breakfast and three course evening meal,D=dream on a comfortable bed in an Executive room _ all of this for a total of £99 per room The facilities are first class, staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the food is to die for! We will definitely stay there again when next visiting Lincoln

« Great Hotel, great service, great location. »

I have stayed at the Bentley many times over the last 12 years and have always found the service outstanding. The rooms are big and reasonably quite even those close to the main A46 road that runs down one side. The beds are comfortable . Restaurant is very good and the genuine friendly service is appreciated.

    « Nice place »

Lovely & friendly staff. Nice pool & facilities. Our room was a little noisy as right next to the main road but other than that we could not complain about the service. Only a short drive to Lincoln & close by to other pubs for food & drink outside the hotel..

« One for the families and business travellers. The rest of us should look elsewhere. »

If you took the signs away and hid the 'Spa' you would believe it was a 'Premier Inn'. Premiers I would rate between 3-4 stars depending on the room being upgraded or not. The rooms here I am afraid are very 'old Premier' - decent bed but tired furniture and decor with small tele, so 3 stars is all I can give. And I am afraid the 'Spa' adds nothing on this site, as 'adult swims' are post 6PM only, so very much a 'Youth Center' feel and not very pleasant for the Senior traveler looking for a bit of R & R. Also badly run, as 3 attendants had to check on the adult swim times as none of them knew for certain, so don't actually expect the rules to be applied even after 6PM. Also, kids in the steam room and Sauna? usually these at least are 'no go' children areas at all other hotels, so again the Spa adds nothing to this site unless you are under 9 years old. Food, I did not try so I can't comment. But Lincoln has great restaurants so why bother? especially as I suspect it would have been like eating in the school canteen. The location is commercial. The hotel fronts an extremely busy main road and roundabout with the actual bedrooms less that 10 meters from the road side. The access road is lethal turning in and out, but the actual site is large with plenty of parking. I would say a good one for the commercial traveller. Definitely one for families and business travellers with more money than sense. The rest of us should steer clear.

    « Weekend stay »

Had a great weekend. Breakfast excellent. Had dinner first night in restaurant, enjoyed so much returned the second night. Excellent value for money. Rooms spacious, very comfortable, nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly, efficient staff

« Middle of the road »

Only used for a pit stop - I got a reasonable deal - def wouldn't pay the the hotels standard tariff of £ 107. Rooms are comfortable and clean if a bit outdated and breakfast had everything you'd expect but nothing that would make it stand out. Staff friendly and accommodating .

    « Fantastic breakfast & service »

I just stayed one night on my own as I was going to a party. It's a bit tricky to find the entrance as you have to turn into a road that looks like it's only going to a garden nursery! But once there the parking is free & easy. Reception staff were very helpful. I had a quiet room, away from the seasonal wedding party, however, the traffic from the main road is a little noisy - so ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. Comfy, spacious, typical contemporary bedroom with all mod cons. Breakfast was really excellent. The most efficient, organised restaurant team I have experienced in a hotel for some time. Buffet had something for everyone and hot breakfast was piping hot, fresh & plentiful, even at 9.30 am (vegetarian sausages were all that were missing for me) with fried, poached & scrambled eggs, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, hash browns, bacon & sausage. Not to mention the fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissants etc. One thing to note - taxis are expensive & not so easy to book on a Saturday in this area - I didn't go far & it was £17. Prices increase further after 9.30pm.

« Good hotel, excellent staff, lovely pool »

Really impressed. Stayed a night here. We asked for a quiet room and despite there being a big wedding on, they gave us one. (Thank you!) You can hear the traffic noise a little bit due to it being right on the A46(obviously), but you can't really hear it when the air conditioning is on. Very good air condiitoning unit. It was a clean, quiet, spacious room and a very comfy bed. Very good breakfast (and staff). Reception staff excellent. Lovely pool and jacuzzi. Steam room and sauna also good but didn't spend so much time in there. Pool and facilities open until 8pm at weekends (jacuzzi only until 6pm on a Sunday) We were able to book out and then stay using the pool after 11am which was really nice. Both times the pool was quiet. Kids not allowed in after 6pm. Very glad we stayed here.

    « Bentley Hotel & Spa »

Good hotel. The food and service were excellent. The spa and gym facilities make hotel a cut above others. Would be happy to stay there again. Good location on two counts; only 10 miles from the A1 and 2 miles to historic Lincoln.

« Good hotel if you are traveling with work »

I stayed for one night. This hotel has good features if you are travelling with work. There is plenty of parking and the hotel is night next to the duel carriageway and easy to find. My room was very noisy with the window open, lots of heavy traffic noise. Room service offers a small but nice selection of food and the help yourself breakfast is quick and easy.

    « very very good »

My wife and I stayed for I night 24th July. We had a good deal for our stay but because we were dining with family we can only comment on our breakfast experience which was exceptional both in food quality and service, a good selection and choice. Room well furnished and bed very comfortable. We stayed on the ground floor room 103 and we were very satisfied with our stay. We could not comment on the spa or other facilities as we did not have time. However we shall return in October and spend more time. Thanks to all the staff.

« So glad we stayed here. »

My Husband and I stayed here for the night of 23rd July 16. I got a nice bargain with Best Western for this hotel. I only booked 2 days before arrival and got breakfast included for under £85. We arrived just over an hour before our check in time to be greeted by a lovely receptionist who checked us in as our room was ready and explained where we go for food, if we wanted anything brought to our room etc. They have a nice restaurant and offer a 2 course dinner for £23. They also have a cocktail lounge open to 11pm and guests can order drinks from the night porter after that. We had a really comfortable night and our room was facing the motorway (239). We did hear the traffic but that was because we had the window open, if it was closed there was no noise. There is air con in the rooms and ours had a waterfall type shower over the bath. They provided little toiletries which were very luxurious, especially the soap and a fluffy bathrobe too! The bath towel was really heavy so a good quality one. Breakfast was lovely, it's a serve yourself affair but they take your order for tea/coffee/toast. Continental or full English. We were greeted by Matthew, the manager of the week. Matthew mucked in to assist the waitresses clear tables, it's great to see a manger not afraid to do the dirty stuff. His team were constantly on the go and had happy smiles which made the visit extra special for us as we were celebrating our 40th Wedding anniversary. On checkout we were met by another lovely smiling receptionist. The catering business can be really hard as people always like to complain but rarely stop and say thank you. So Thank You! We would certainly stay here again and recommend it.

    « Comfortable Stay »

Stayed here for one night as we had tickets for a concert at the Castle. Booked an executive room which was a good size with a seating area. I felt the room was in need of modernisation but was comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the spa facilities due to time constraints so can't comment on that.

Very good best western hotel. I stay at a lot of best westerns and this is a very good one. Friendly staff, nice rooms and spa and pool are very good, a great way to unwind after a stressful day of meetings! Food and bar area also very good as is the breakfast.

    « Wedding »

Our son and his wife like the lady before had there wedding there last week it was truly tremendous and pulled off immaculately by claire and matthew. They truly put everybody at ease even me and that's hard sometimes!! ( Joke actually) which makes a wedding memorable knowing everything was hand. In fact every member of staff made there wedding even some hotel guests who joined in the party at the end. I can highly recommend this hotel for any forth coming wedding you have planned. Well done to you all

    « Amazing »

We had our wedding at the Bentley back at the start of July, and it was beautiful. The staff were so attentive and put us at ease every step of the way. As the bride, I dealt with most of the wedding things, Matthew and Claire were the managers who mainly dealt with my calls and emails. They were amazing, reassured me, answered every question i had even if i had asked it before and forgotten!! They have weddings all the time, but deal with us as individuals, they made me feel like i was the most important person. Then there is Giovanni who does everything for the wedding. He was fantastic, so attentive and his attention to detail was amazing. He and the others chatted about all different things, had a laugh and because of how they treated me, I was so chilled and relaxed, i didn't worry, as i didn't need to. But after two years of planning with them and speaking to them, about my wedding, I will miss them. I feel privileged to have been able to share my wedding with them too. If you are planning a wedding or know someone who is, my husband and I would definitely recommend the Bentley Hotel. Thank you everyone at the Bentley.

    « Birthday weekend »

We stayed for one night, making the most of an early check in at about 1.30pm, by hitting the pool with the kids. The kids loved it and the steam room and sauna were lovely for the adults . The family room was spot on with good sized bunk beds, by all accounts very comfy! It was my mum's 70th birthday and we had a table for nine in the restaurant . Lovely food from the adults menu and the three course kids menu was good value and very well received by the kids. Friendly staff and nothing too much trouble. We were able to reserve a table for nine for breakfast and had another lovely family meal in the morning. Thanks!

    « ?ADEQUATE? »

2 night break early July high floor quiet room requested. Upon arrival we had to ask for a second bathrobe (oddly enough this happened on a previous stay) and a second set of towels. In addition the toiletries in the room did not include any shampoo or a bar of hand soap and no hand soap dispenser on the wall. Friday night was lovely and quiet but Saturday morning at 5.20 there was a lot of clattering, banging and continuous reversing sensors from a lorry making a delivery. The second night the 2 sets of towels had been removed and replaced with a single set. There was also only 1 pack of biscuits and only a partly started toilet roll, no spare. There was a wedding in the function room and in our room there was absolutely no noise from this whatsoever (plus point). Other plus points include very comfortable big bed, clean room plenty of hot water from the shower. The Leisure facilities were very good and clean and the staff we came into contact with were extremely professional and friendly. We were woken at 7.21 Sunday morning and knew we had a chance of showers as all this information could be clearly heard coming from a TV in a neighbouring room. We could also hear the sound of drinks being stirred with a spoon!!. There was also lots of noise from banging doors. Can't pass comment on the food as we did not dine here. Hotel information states if there is anything you require ask Reception and when we did we were supplied with various missing items but come on these are surely basics when paying over £100 per night room only. Upon leaving we were asked if everything had been alright we replied ?adequate? but it had the feeling of staying in a room equipped for single occupancy and having to ask for extras that should have been included in the first place.

« good location just off A46 south of city »

The location suited me being just off the A46 south of Lincoln centre. Free large car park and free wifi . Excellent reception being helpful, friendly and efficient. The room was of a good size, very clean, bed comfortable. The hotel is adjacent to the A46, so if possible get a room at the rear to avoid any road noise.

« A real good place to stay »

Having had a few disappointments in the short stay department, was really delighted at this Hotel and Spa the staff were all really professional, it human and attentive. We ate in the resteraunt and for once no one batted an eyelid when I asked for something slightly different to the good choice on the menu. The veggies were steamed, fresh, and very tasty.I did not leave the table hungry! Next evening chose to eat in the bar, again well cooked food, atmosphere only marred by the group of blokes - who managed to eff and b, cracking stupid sexist comments and boasts of one thing and anoter, the best part of an hour till thatey went to the reteraunt. Never mind. The room was a good size, very clean. (360) The bed a bit too firm for me, but I slept reasonably well as for the 2 night stay I spent a long time enjoying a swim in the lovely pool- some read, I swim! Although I didn't have my work hat on, access was pretty good including to the pool, although the turning circles for wheelchair users may be a bit tight in the changing room, but I did note designated space. Got a bus (26) to Lincoln, just a minute from the door , 40 mins to the bus station and either a walk up a very steep hill or, as we did, jumped on the No 8 up to the cathedral/castle and lovely medieval area. And unexpected treat, the Usher gallery So, all in all, a comfortable, mostly relaxing, 2 days.

    « 90th Birthday celebration »

Invited by a friend to her 90th birthday lunch. Service relaxed and friendly. Good food, beef melted in the mouth. The table was dressed for a celebration and the room was light and airy. The only downside was that the table was a little wide which meant that it wasn't easy to reach the cruet etc. Nice touch was that extra gravy was brought to the table.

    « Last minute booking »

My partner and I decided on a last minute night away so thought we would give the Bentley a try. The lady on the phone was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the leisure facilities and had a fabulous meal in the evening and a filling breakfast the following morning. I had the best sleep in a long while. Looking forward to visiting again

    « Very Highly reccommended! »

Reviewing Sunday lunch only - haven't stayed here. Good choice of menu and food is excellent. Maître D' is charming and the atmosphere in the dining room is brilliant. You are always made to feel very welcome. The room itself is quite large and the tables are not close together which I find annoying in some restaurants. Modern yet in some ways traditional (carpets, tablecloths etc) which I like v.much. Service is v. good with friendly staff.

« Great location. Comfortable Bed, Excellent breakfast »

Great location. Comfortable Bed, Excellent Breakfast. Leisure facilities are very good, great size pool and easily accessible from the main hotel. The location is easy to find and very convenient for Lincoln. staff were very friendly and easy to deal with (!) Bar/ lounge area was a little small but very nicely done out.

« Throughly enjoyable overnight stay. »

Stayed on Friday 10th June and received a very warm welcome despite our late check in of 12.30am. Our room was spotless and the beds are incredibly comfortable so we had a fanastic night's sleep. The bar was busy but the gentleman serving was very professional and friendly despite being very busy. Breakfast was good but the fried and poached eggs looked as if they had been under the hot plate for a long time and therefore unappetising so we settled on the scrambled eggs. We had our breakfast at 9.30am so appreciate you stop serving breakfast at 10am but I still think the hot buffet needs to be checked by a member of staff in terms of the quality and freshness its offering. However this didn't spoil our experience of Bentley hotel and I'm positive had we have asked you would have cooked fresh egg's for us but we didn't want to trouble anyone as everyone was so very friendly.

    « Excellent restaurarnt »

Went to the Bentley for an evening meal with my partner's family to mark his parents diamond anniversary. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and looked after well by all staff during the meal without them being too intrusive. The service was spot-on and the food excellent which all made for a very enjoyable evening for a special occasion. Worth going to for something that requires that 'extra bit'.

    « Regular user »

I've been coming to this hotel for the last 15 years, never been disappointed. Restaurant and breakfast are always good. Great leisure complex. Good for access to the local area the only drawback is the distance to Lincoln if you want a night out.

« Let down by the leisure club »

We stayed at the Bentley for two nights for our anniversary weekend and on the whole the experience was good. Exactly what you would expect for a hotel of this kind. A particular mention goes to the restaurant staff who were pleasant and helpful and the food was good. We choose this hotel as it had a leisure club and my partner and I love swimming. The staff there were not so pleasant and helpful. Having a pool and spa is a massive asset but the pool, sauna and steam room are in great need of a good clean and refurbishment. Very disappointing. I filled out the comments form and left it at reception along with my email address but haven,t had a response.

« Ticks all the boxes »

We stayed one night for a wedding at Kelham Hall. The hotel was clean, executive suite of a good size and fitted with all mod cons. The general appearance was a little dated. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet. There was a good selection of hot and cold breakfast foods and staff were always friendly and helpful.

« Excellent venue for a large meeting »

I attended a one day conference at this hotel and it was very good. Great space and lots of parking. Large spacious room that looked as though it could sub-divide for smaller events. The food was very good ? considering they were catering for nearly 200 people. The staff were friendly and professional and looked after us very well. The spa looked good but I didn't have time to use any of the facilities and sadly I wasn't staying here so I cannot comment on the accommodation ? but I will certainly stay here next time. Can recommend.

    « Disappointing afternoon tea »

I am a great lover of afternoon tea and I can honestly say that this one was the worst I've had. Rather than a table and chairs, we were seated around a coffee table, My mum sat on a low chair and the other two members of our party sat on a very squashy sofa with little support. The sandwiches were mostly white bread with fillings of a thin slice of ham; egg or tuna. It looked colourless and unappetising . There was no garnish or anything to make the food just a little more attractive. There were four tiny triangles of cheese and tomato on brown bread but these were lost in a sea of unappealing blandness. The cake seemed to be from a shop bought box of mini cream cakes (e.g, mini eclairs, mini cream slice etc) and all had a very wet appearance. The scones were slightly warm although I suspect, because of the slightly over browned top, they were shop-bought ones put into the oven to give a home made touch. However, they tasted very nice and the only thing that has saved this from being a one star review. When we first arrived we were the only ones in the room, however, when we were halfway through our food the room filled up with a wedding party. All the tables and chairs filled up as did most of the rest of the room with people standing. As could be expected with a very large group of people chatting the noise level was high and we could only converse by leaning forward and shouting to each other - not easy on the squashy sofa. My brother-in -law paid for the afternoon tea as a treat for my Mum's birthday so I did not feel it was my place to complain to the waitress about the food although I would have done if I'd been the one paying. I belong to two separate groups who regularly go out for afternoon tea and I most certainly will not be recommending this venue.

    « Faultless! A big thank you »

Myself and my Husband enjoyed a lovely evening here with the 'dip, dine and dream' offer. Would highly recommend everyone to take advantage of it. Lovely spacious superior King room included, very comfortable, and very clean. We spent a relaxing couple of hours in the spa area. Hot tub, steam room, sauna & pool. Finished with a laze on the heated beds to dry off. Huge white fluffy robes provided in the room too which was lovely afterwards. The offer also included a 3 course meal in the evening, lots to chose from and all of the food was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a buffet breakfast the following morning. Service was excellent throughout, from check in, restaurant & everyone we encountered. All of this for £99 per couple. I wish we could do it every weekend. Thank you Bentley Hotel.

« Little bit above average! »

Honestly. 6.5 rating out of 10 I'd give it. Rooms aren't that modern. Felt like a B&B with a decent bed. If you want to stay there based of the fact that there's a pool, you'd be better off going to a spa. Changing rooms were a bit dirty. Hot tub wasn't that brilliant. Steam rooms are too small, there may as well not be any. TV was too small (and I had a pricey room). Customer service at reception was tbh very nice. I looked terrible but the receptionist was very bubbly! Love the fact I could have a good look around pennels after. Worth the money but not "amazing". Although unless your staying at ceasers palace or a fancy place in central London and willing to flash Money through you fingers like fun coupons on a full resort, your never gonna find any hotel brilliant. Very nice though. But wouldn't bother going again. Once was enough.

« An excellent venue for business or pleasure »

The Bentley Hotel is located just off the A46 near Lincoln in the same complex as a large garden centre incorporating a number of shops and a remarkable food hall selling a wide range of local produce. The hotel is a modern building of three floors with a pleasant bar and restaurants. The staff are all local, cheerful, friendly and efficient. The hotel décor is pleasant and tasteful, everything of good quality and spotlessly clean. Our room was very comfortable and equipped with everything one needs. Well designed bathroom and comfortable bed. We stayed for three nights and dined with a group at the hotel. The menu offered a good choice and the food was excellent although the service was rather slow with 70 people to feed. Breakfast was very good with a really hot buffet and hot plates. We find that most buffets are lukewarm and plates not heated!

    « Birthday Celebration »

We chose this hotel for the family to enjoy our birthday celebration. Started off a bit shakey with customer service at the front desk being very curt, but improved dramatically when there was a change of personnel The facilitates were great, we had three rooms that were all very clean, spacious and airy. Well stocked with tea and coffee and we enjoyed the gowns and slippers. The pool was lovely and warm with a sauna and hot tub of which there was plenty of fun had. We stayed and dined at the hotel restaurant where service was superb, as was the food and wine. The staff paid particularity to my 6 year old niece in order to ensure she had everything she needed. All in all a great visit

    « Always great! »

I visit this hotel reguarly, it never fails to meet my expectations. Staff are always friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant staff. Rooms are always clean and immaculate, great facilities - I especially like the pool and attached spa! Great value too, I won't go anywhere else!

    « 'Didn't Get The Basics Right' »

We stayed one night in this hotel after it was recommended by some friends. First the good points - the staff were great and very attentive, from the receptionists through to the bar staff. The beds were lovely and comfortable and my daughter remarked that it was probably the comfiest hotel bed that she had ever slept in!. Unfortunately that's where it ends. The rooms just weren't cleaned properly. There was coffee stains in the cups and empty sachet packets left in the tray. Our bed wasn't made up properly and the sheets were rejects. The bath mat was stuck to the bottom of the bath and was dirty. The walls were also really thin. We sat listening to a wedding party laughing and joking until the early hours and you could hear them flushing the toilets.. I would probably rate this hotel somewhere between a travelodge and a Holiday Inn..Can't comment on the Spa as we never used the facilities.

    « Better than expected »

Visited with my family for my grandma's 90th birthday party. After reading some pretty bad reviews on trip advisor I was not sure what we were going to get. We were seated promptly at 7pm which was good because it was a little on the late side for us with a long journey straight afterwards and two teens who had to be up early for work the next day. Not sure if there was an earlier time available as we didn't make the booking. Service was attentive and efficient although I DETEST being called Madame and it was laid on really thick every time I was addressed. At one point a waitress came to ask me whether I had ordered my main from the right hand side of the menu (a la carte) or left (set) - seeing as it was only on the right hand side she could have looked that up for herself, but anyway... I had only a main course which was pretty good, even if the chicken did look a bit on the pink side. I didn't get food poisoning. The vegetables, salad and chips were generously provided and I sincerely hope that we weren't excessively charged for these as we seemed to get far more than we asked for or needed and a 90 year old lady was paying the bill so I hope she wasn't ripped off. On the down side I did see a dirty paper napkin and fork under the table as we were seated and the carpet looked pretty filthy. Also, the toilets were being shared with a wedding and were pretty disgusting and smelt of vomit. But apart from that it was a nice meal and nice occasion.

    « Lovely Hotel & friendly staff »

stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding which was elsewhere, upon check in staff were friendly and polite, they were efficient and check in was smooth. We went to our room- 233, located on 1st floor, was extremely clean and tidy, fairly modern. The bed was extremely comfortable and my other half enjoyed browsing the pillow menu.. We didn't eat there but enjoyed the complimentary biscuits and coffee- Nescafé. There was ample parking, with a wedding on at the hotel on the Saturday night we didn't struggle to park. Location was great, fairly central, I would recommend this hotel and I would stay again.

« Great for Family Celebrations »

I often go to the Bentley for meals when I have visitors they had a good selection . to choose from the staff are always helpful especially Giovanni the Manager . I recently went with 5 friends on my 80th Birthday everything was perfect . the following week I went with 16 members of my family age range 2 to myself at 80 we all had a great meal all fresh food .. and completely different menu from the week before. I hate a restaurant that does not change the menu. I have heard they are changing the menu in May to try new things I will be going to sample this It is good to try new things But I hope they do not spoil the type of food they produce at the moment

« Nice hotel, great staff! »

Firstly, let's just say we turned up so early people were still checking out! I had to drop my son off in Caythorpe at 10am and thought I'd chance my arm in getting the room early. The receptionists were brilliant, they knew the family room we booked was needed (101 or 102 with 2 bunk beds!) so this was one of the 1st rooms they cleaned, we only had to wait 15 mins and we were in! Brilliant. The hotel itself is situated on a retail estate next to a garden centre on a busy junction so it's not easy just to nip out for a nice walk with the kids, but the pool made up for it, really nice, quite big and a steam room and sauna right next to it. We had lunch in the bar when we arrived which was nice, and reasonably priced. We had dinner in the pub opposite the entrance which we would recommend. All in all a really nice hotel and very accomodating staff. I gave it a 3 rating because of the location, if this was a bit more rural it would ahve been perfect.

    « Delightful weekend »

Our room was pleasant and satisfactory. Friday's supper in restaurant was most acceptable, as was breakfast both mornings, though Sunday's remaining wedding guests meant it was a busy room. Staff coped admirably. The pool is gorgeous; slightly disappointing that jacuzzi was out-of-order on Saturday. Hotel not in a beautiful location, but easy parking and short distance from city centre. It did help enormously that Lincoln - a lovely city with much of interest - managed to produce sunshine after an unpromising start to the day. Overall, a great stay which we hope to repeat at some point

« Excellent hotel, accommodation, bar, restaurant and food »

A very enjoyable stay. We arrived very early but staff prepared our room quickly and let us in. We had a superior room, with a lot of extra space including a settee and coffee table. One of the settee cushions was rather crushed from use, but otherwise comfortable. The beds were great, just the right firmness, nice feel to the sheets and pillowcases. WIFI reception was good. The food was good and service efficient. Overall prices were good value. Car parking very easy with plenty of space. We got a peak into a family suit on the same floor - it looked fantastic for a family, sleeping 5 in a huge bedroom and had a separate living room for parents after the kids are in bed.

    « Great hotel »

We stayed here as we needed to be close to Lincoln. Huge car park was packe when we arrive but the hotel staff explained that there was several functions on at the same time. Checking in was very easy with very friendly staff and the room was brilliant. A big room that was well appointed with everything we needed. A nice modern bed that was very comfortable in a very quiet room. Breakfast was on a self serve basis with staff bringing any drinks you needed. Great hotel fully recommended

    « Highly Recommend for a break »

Booked for 2 nights from 25th March so we could do the tourist bit in Lincoln and chill out. Large car park and not very inspiring building from the outside but how wrong can you be??? From the moment we walked through the doors we recieved 5 star service from EVERYONE. We were checked in by the Manager and he was so welcoming and genuinely interested in our visit, he advised us on our visit into Lincoln the following day and gave us some great tips. We then went to the room which was larger than a lot of uk hotel rooms we have stayed in with everything required for a 2 night break including dressing gowns which is most unusual. We went into the bar for some lunch and the bar staff were great and again could not do enough for us, prices were very good for a hotel with fresh sandwiches made to order including garnish and crisps under £5 We had booked massages in the spa which are very good and reasonably priced and we then used the hotel leisure facilities which again were better than the average ones including 2 hot stone beds by the pool. The beds are the best we have slept in at any uk hotel and they even had a pillow menu to suit everyone. We chose to eat out for dinner both evenings but again breakfast was very good and although on Sunday it was very busy, out of nowhere several more staff appeared to help clear tables and get people seated. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and i believe you rate a hotel not just on its facilities but also on the staff and that is the reason i have rated it a 5. Thank you for such a lovely relaxing break.

    « Wedding! »

Had our wedding at the Bentley yesterday, fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Lovely room for both ceremony and wedding breakfast. Gorgeous food, beautifully clean rooms with the comfiest beds, excellent facilities. All our guests commented on the high standards of the hotel. Staff and management couldn't be more helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Can't thank The Bentley enough for making our special day extra special.

    « Carvery »

Attended a family meal at the Bentley carvery one Saturday lunchtime recently. While we do eat out we haven't visited a carvery for several years, preferring to cook at home, from scratch. Obviously I haven't been in their kitchens but from the texture and taste I would be very surprised if the roast potatoes or Yorkshire puddings were home made. It was Beef or Turkey and the same gravy for both... (my homemade turkey gravy tastes very different to beef!!) The bread was stale, puddings decidedly average and again I would strongly suspect bought in. Not at all the quality I would expect for approx. £16 for 2 courses (as it was a family 'occasion' we weren't paying the bill). As guests we did not raise our thoughts at the time out of politeness to our hosts, indeed I don't think there was anything per se to 'complain' about, it's just thst in our opinion, it really wasn't very good at all.

    « Ok »

Working in Newark, I booked here for one night. The carpark was very busy but I just managed to get parked. The welcome at reception was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, a decent size and nice and quiet. I had a bar meal but the bar is tiny and very bust and I had to wait for a seat. When I sat down I had to share the table with other guests.....which was not acceptable. The bar meal was ok as was breakfast .

« Spa day hen starter »

This place was perfect for the hen party starter. We had a blast together. The peaceful and relaxing atmosphere along with a few glasses of bubbly and chocolates. We had a massage each and I must say the massage was amazing. I felt so relaxed I could have fallen asleep for hours after wards but we then went downstairs to the sauna and spa areas. The one downside was this was family time in the pool and there children playing and having lots of fun. This couldn't be helped but it would have been much nicer if we had better timing, a bit of grown up time. The hot tub was great and if we had more money to splash out we would have loved to have more treatments but it was too pricey for us girls. Great afternoon though! Also, the staff were perfectly polite and attentive.

    « Very good. »

I stay here when visiting my employers head office in Lincoln and of all the hotels in the area I've been sent to (Damons, Pride of Lincoln and The Pyewipe) The Bentley is the best. Comfortable, clean and fairly well equpped rooms although if all rooms had a trouser press it would be an improvement. I've visited the bar only twice so I can't give an informed review except to say I didn't dislike it and my colleagues tell me the bar meals are good. I haven't eaten in the restaurant other than for the buffet breakfast which is very good and the quiet efficiency of the breakfast staff is a joy first thing in the morning! I certainly would have no hesitation staying here if I ever visit the area privately

    « Don't judge a book by the cover »

Went for a weekend to visit Lincoln and I admit from the exterior view the hotel doesn't look that attractive .... I think it's the green colour! however the service, the executive room we had, the food, spa facilities at the hotel were excellent. The staff particularly were friendly and welcoming nothing was a problem. I've stayed at many highly rated hotels some of which have disappointed but I'd definitely stay here again.

    « Wedding night »

I was most disappointed that there was no complimentary champagne in the room other than that we had a fab night in the carol suite and breakfast was amazing and would recommend it for a stay the jacuzzi was lovely but a little noisy and we we're worried about disturbing other guests as we are both early risers the Bentley is easy to find and you can relax with a massage or have use of the swimming pool

    « A little disappointed »

A friend was staying at the hotel and invited us to join him for dinner. He was very happy with his accommodation and the facilities but I think we found the dinner to be a bit of a let down. We opted for the set menu even though the choices were very safe. The the starter of avocado prawn salad was missing one essential item. The avocado. I found one piece. Then the main course arrived. The hake was cooked well but the choice of vegetables was bland to say the least. The mashed potato was lumpy and the carrots, broccoli and red cabbage boring. Lincolnshire has a much more varied choice and should be used here. The price of £23.50 per person for two courses was too high. The bright side was the waiting staff were attentive and polite. Thanks to Hannah for managing to put up with the two jokers I was dining with. I would recommend the hotel as a place to stay but not to eat.

    « A very satisfactory hotel. »

A clean, quiet, comfortable hotel adjacent to a large attractive garden centre. An very good size swimming pool, gym and spa. Not cheap and would have expected breakfast to be included for the price. Nevertheless a good hotel.

« Stay OK, Payment System Needs Amending »

Stayed in an executive suit which was very nice and had a lovely massage at the spa. Only concern was the payment system, I had to have my card authorised upon checking in, and then paid when I checked out. I then went to buy some food at the supermarket and my card was declined, £132 had been taken from account twice, hence I was overdrawn. I then had to spend the next two days of my annual leave not being able to do anything as I had no money. Three days after checking out and it has still not been credited back into my bank account. The pre authorisation part needs to be rethought?

    « Lovely family celebration »

Just returned from a brilliant family birthday getaway. Booked the hotel for my mother-in-laws 70th birthday and stayed with my 2 children aged 8 and 12 and 4 other family members. The staff were extremely obliging, upgrading my mother-in-laws room for minimal cost, ensuring ice buckets were in rooms. All rooms were lovely, the family room having bunk beds for the children. The robes in the rooms were really nice so we could just nip through to use the spa facilities. The pool, sauna and steam room were a big success with all the family, very clean and pool a lovely temperature and depth. We dined in the restaurant, again staff very helpful as dropped off balloons and cake prior to checking in. Being gluten free the menu was confusing, not accurate, may need looking at by the chef, some things stated they were gluten free (no g under description) but on questioning were told did contain gluten and vice versa, made me rather anxious when choosing, however the staff were really helpful and ensured what I chose was gluten free, thankyou. Children's menu good choice and value for money. All the family had a great time would definately return and recommend to friends and family.

« Excellent: Dip, Dine and Dream »

The room was possibly the best hotel room we've ever stayed in. It was spacious with room for a sofa without being squeezed in. The bedside lights were pivoted so they could be moved nearer for bedtime reading. Bedside lights are so often inefficient for reading. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, the dressing gowns were soft fluffy ones rather than towelling. We were able to control the heating in the room ourselves. The pool and spa were lovely, we went on a Sunday and it was quite quiet which was great. The menu was fairly extensive and the food was good with decent portions. All the staff were friendly, helpful and approachable. The only downside was the fact that we couldn't have the bedroom window open because we looked west over the A46. Even with the window closed we could still hear the traffic. There would have been no problem asking for a room facing east if we'd thought of it when we booked.

lovely hotel, top quality staff, and the best breakfast, using good quality local ingredients, leisure facilities excellent, large pool and the best Jacuzzi. We also used the therapy facilities, many thanks to all concerned

    « Disappointed »

I stayed here with my family for a night,We stayed in a suite, the bath in our room was dirty and definitely needed an upgrade. All the furniture didn't seem to match and wasn't the best looking. The bed was very uncomfy to sleep on. The heating kept making a noise all night. Not worth upgrading to a suite.

Our first visit to this lovely city & this great hotel. All the staff were welcoming & friendly with excellent knowledge of the area ( the ones we spoke to live nearby ) The bedroom was really spacious, warm & comfortable. « Excellent mattress and night's sleep »

Enjoyed a 'mini break' here with my sister. The hotel is easy to find and parking no problem. We arrived a little early and the gentleman on Reception managed to allocate our room at the time. There was a bit of confusion about us being allocated a 'smoking room' which i think had something to do with the website but once sorted we found our room was spacious and functional. It was intended for one person and only had one robe/towel but the cleaning ladies who were working on the corridor were extremely helpful and friendly and gave us an extra robe and biscuits. We headed to the bar where the lovely elderly bartender was very friendly and chatty. After an evening in Lincoln we returned to the bar and again were met with friendliness by the girl working. We retired for the evening and I had a wonderful sleep as the mattress is one of the best I have slept on, (also the Prosecco helped!) Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and we used the swimming and spa which again were clean and excellent, particularly the hot stone lounger (when you can get on it)It is a lovely spa area and would be nicer if there were more chairs or loungers. Most of the people working there were very helpful and friendly, especially the bar staff and cleaning staff and it is in a good location for travelling from London to Newark. Taxis cost £8 into Lincoln and the taxi driver was very friendly!

« Staff very friendly and facilities very good »

whatever minor problems I exprerienced (eg unable to use heating on a cold night) were addressed immediately and with very good interaction.Staff very friendly.First time I have holidayed on my own. I have no fear of a lonely experience any more. I was made most welcom. The hotel is modern with a good pool and spa and fitness facilities which I made good use of. the food was good and varied. the position handy for all routes around Lincoln.Roads are excellent in the area. Parking at hotel was always available. Ifg there is any complaint I would say that because it is set back a way from the road and surrounded by other businesses the signage needs to be much more conspicuous

it was a birthday teat for mother at 93. Food was far below standard we expected. Starter was three pieces of limp asparagas in a basket, Main course was adequate but not exciting and the gateau was stale. service was top drawer. Complaints made to management and staff but still had to pay an exhorbitant bill. Had a management call some days later to follow up with appologies

    « Wonderful »

What a wonderfully relaxed hotel to be in. Staff all very friendly and cannot do enough for you. Rooms lovely and clean with tea and coffee making facilities. Plenty of shampoo's etc left out in bathrooms. Complimentary slippers and gorgeous white fluffy dressing gowns to wear. The Spa facilities excellent, pool, steam room, sauna, gym, whirlpool. My husband and I both had back massages which is well worth the money, I had the warm stone back massage which is wonderful. Food excellent, so too is the service. You do not have to eat in the restaurant, we ate one evening in the lounge bar area and it was lovely. Breakfast lovely and hot and buffet style. Loved the white towel swan left on our bed with the chocs. Pennells garden centre is next door to the hotel and well worth a visit. All in all a wonderful stay. We have been twice now.

    « Ideal break »

On a recent visit to Lincoln on a family visit, my wife and I booked into this hotel for two nights. Ideal location as it is on the A46, approx 10 mins from Lincoln city centre, the hotel has plenty of parking space and the hotel is of a high standard, reception staff very proficient, rooms of a good size beds very comfortable, clean and well maintained, The restaurant is of a good standard, staff and management very helpful, food of a good standard and plenty for any traveller.

    « Excellent Stay »

Stayed here 2 nights for a birthday treat and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was lovely and so were the staff. Breakfast excellent and the food in the restuarant was delicious. Im a vegetarian and the veggie option was superb and obviously homemade. Spa facilities attached to the hotel are very nice. Would recommend the Rasul mud treatment! All in all would recommend The Bentley Hotel and Spa

« Carvery Lunch Price Is Increasing »

The price for the two course Carvery Lunch has increased to £15.25 for the over 50's. The quality is just the same, delicious but Rolls and Butter are no longer served unless you have a starter. As I have said, the food is delicious with both the Roast Beef and Turkey lean and not tough. The chef was very friendly as he managed to cut the meat far thinner than I ever could! These were complimented with Sausage wrapped in Bacon, Stuffing Balls and Yorkshire Pudding. There was a good choice of vegetables; Roast and Mashed Potatoes, Cauliflower and Broccoli in a Cheese Sauce, French Beans, Cabbage and Swede. For Dessert we had Tiramisu and Mango Cheesecake. Best Western Reward Points are no longer awarded unless an overnight stay is taken.

Wanted to try this hotel for sometime, but we were put off by its proximity to 2 main roads - but we needed have bothered because we had excellent nights sleep you couldn't hear any traffic noise at all. « Very nice place, but... »

Great place, nice breakfast, nice rooms, onsite leisure complex (gym, sauna etc), but... I found the free and only available WiFi to be very poor (0.5Mb download/bandwidth), which made it difficult to do any business work. Phone reception (EE) was also poor with some areas have no reception at all and other areas having 25% of full signal on 3G. Not much can be done about the phone signal, but the WiFi could certainly be improved.

    3
    « Busy location »

My husband was in Lincoln on business for a couple of days and his company made reservations at the Best Western Plus Bentley Hotel and Spa. It wasn't what we are used to but it was clean and satisfactory for the price. The front desk staff was efficient and business-like but not overtly friendly. It was a bit boring for me as my husband was out on business and the hotel is a bit out of the way from the attractions of Lincoln city center. It fit the bill for the business trip but we would definitely choose something with more character near or in the historic areas of the city were we to return.

    « New Year Break »

My husband and I wanted a quick break before the end of the festive season and we chose the Bentley for an overnight stay on 1st January. It was very quiet during the afternoon and we virtually had the Spa facilities to ourselves which was lovely. Dined in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service. The only spoiler was a few guests who insisted on going from room to room slamming doors and were very noisy up until almost 11pm. However would definitely stay again.

I recently spent four nights at this hotel and found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. They quickly responded to a technical problem in our room, which was clean and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant staff made us feel welcome and we enjoyed our swim at the spa. We will definitely return.

    « Christmas spa break »

When we arrived I didn't realise it was next to a busy road, but you would never know soon as you step into the hotel! We really enjoyed ourselves. The spa break is what I thought was needed between Christmas and new year and certainly wasn't disappointed! With the deal we had was use of the spa,a free treatment, pool, two coarse evening meal a room for the night and then breakfast,I was a little dubious with the cost of the deal being so cheap, but the food was spot on and plenty of it,I thought maybe we was only aloud certain things on the menu but we could have what we wanted to a value. The steak was cooked to perfection!! The breakfast was a buffet, and the full English was spot on! The staff was very friendly and helpful and I found a very laid back relaxed atmosphere in the place as a guest! The room was perfectly cleaned and the bed was so comfy! I will definitely return and recommend this hotel!!

« New Years Eve celebration »

We arrived and had a drink in a separate bar / lounge area to the seated dining room, was nice just to relax for 30 minutes . Went through to the main dining area to find we had been allocated a table for 2, have done similar events and found ourselves crammed on a larger table with people we don't know. Our starters were bought to us with the remainder of the food being a buffet style, plenty of choice of very high quality also plenty of vegetarian choice which is great to see. There was a singing group on initially, which as a first impression was ok, but in my opinion not great. This was followed by a disco, the DJ seemed to read the audience well and played a variety of suited music. If it had stayed with the disco I would have no complaints, however the singer's took to the stage again, to me the lead singer was a little worse for wear on the alcohol front and the whole thing turned into no more than a mediocre karaoke. If I was to take this into consideration it would be a 2 star rating. We possibly will book for next year, however would want assurance from the managment that the disco (which was far superior to the singers) be given more time and that if these singers were given a second chance keep them in tune and off the alcohol. That said, it was quite a good night, but could have been better

    « Christmas Stay »

I am not sure what all the hype is about this hotel as it didnt stand out that much to other hotels I have stayed in. The only part of the stay that boosted my score was the Leisure Club facilities. Clean and well maintained. Unfortunately the gentleman who checked us in acted like he was drunk and had an unpleasant amount of aftershave on, obviously had too much fun at the works christmas party. He was also flapping, panicking, giggling and charged us completely the wrong price. The room wasnt up to the best standards of cleanliness.... yellow stains on the floor, dust etc. This is what let the score of the hotel down. We also moved rooms throughout our stay, because the first one had a floodlight shining straight through the window! Overall, not the best stay I have had.

    « Xmas treat »

My wife and I had a lovely time last year at the Christmas day carvery and decided to do the same this year with the addition of our youngest daughter and son in law. We arrived on time and were quickly taken to our table which was allready for us. The drinks and starters were promptly sorted by the friendly staff and the starters were very enjoyable. We were then invited to go to the carvery to get our main course and I was able to try the other meats on offer instead of the turkey I was going to have, there was plenty of food that was hot and well cooked. Finally the sweets ordered arrived after a suitable pause which was then followed by coffee/tea and small mince pies, so overall a lovely Xmas dinner and thanks to all the staff for making it a very good day.

    « Excellent Hotel »

An excellent hotel - modern, clean and spacious. Large car park. Friendly staff. We had the Executive Double which was a lovely large room with a full size TV and was well equipped, as was the bathroom (which also had a magnifying mirror - vital for those, like me, with poor eyesight who struggle putting make up on), also robes and slippers. 24hr room service, offering a full menu, was also available. Sadly, I didn't get time to use the lovely pool, but it was included in the price. Breakfast was very good, freshly made and plentiful.

    « Xmas Party »

Had a great party, buzzing atmosphere, nice meal and plenty of dancing to a reasonable disco, would definitely do it all again, brill. The meal was three courses with two or three choices on each including vegetarian option, the whole place was very Christmassy with the decoration and lovely Xmas trees. The hotel is located off the A46 at the start of the Lincoln bypass so easily accessible too.

    « Poor Christmas Lunch »

Attended a Christmas lunch yesterday. The meal was very disappointing. It arrived fully plated up and the texture suggested it had been hanging around before serving. The sprouts were solid, the rest of the veg dry apart from the roast potatoes. We were in a party of 50, not a massive crowd for this type of venue. The dining was laid out nicely and the staff attentive. This class of hotel should do better.

« Great bed, friendly staff »

Sadly these are the only positives of this Hotel. A free breakfast isn't included with the price of the Hotel. There is a supplement charge on top for the pool, of £15.00 Somewhere between Trip Advisor and the Hotel this information needs to be corrected.

    « Never again »

We booked here for our friend's party, the drinks and food were very over priced, the staff although plesent enough seemed distant and uninterested. I booked into the spa for a massage that should have been an hour, after 40 mins it was over and I didn't feel any different, I've had better for less money so won't be visiting there again.

« Visit for Christmas Market »

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel as we were visiting my son at Uni in Lincoln and shopping at the Christmas Market. We have stayed in a few hotels in Lincoln in the last few years and were very happy with our stay at this one, which we hadn't stayed in before. From arrival to departure the staff were very friendly and helpful, the ladies in the breakfast room (nothing was too much trouble) and the lady who cleaned our room (short red hair) were especially lovely and helpful. Our room was nice and clean, with dressing gowns and the usual toiletries. A little more of the milk cartons would be nice as standard, but these were available on request. Breakfast was lovely and my daughter was offered to take a muffin out with her afterwards as well which was nice....as we normally sneak one in a serviette :-) Overall very nice hotel, the pool was great and just the right depth for both swimming and standing, with no deep end which is good for kids' safety. If I'd had more time I would have used the spa for a few treatments as the prices looked pretty decent. There's a lovely garden centre next to the hotel as well, selling all sorts which was good for a potter. Car park was very full, but we managed to park when we needed to so it was fine. It was about a 15 minute drive to Lincoln town centre (with traffic) but we knew it wasn't in the centre when we booked. Will definitely use this hotel again....was a little pricier than others we've stayed in but they don't have a pool and spa so you get what you pay for!

« Only average for a large event meal »

I attended a large function last Friday, and it was generally ok, but I could not consider it better than average. Although not necessarily a fault of the hotel, on arrival, the car park (including overflow area) was completely full, thus finding a parking space was both time consuming and chaotic. In view of these circumstances, perhaps the hotel could have appointed some form of 'traffic warden' to offer guidance on arrival. The above issue also meant that leaving the car park/exit road on departure was also very time consuming and frustrating. The meal itself was ok. The main course actually very good, but the starter and dessert only average. The service was pleasant and prompt. There were severe IT issues with the presentation after the dinner, and the PA system was poor. Again I'm not sure if the hotel itself was directly culpable with this issue. I'm not sure this place would be high up my wish list if I was organising such an event, based upon this experience.

« Bentley or brewsters no difference in food quality »

The service from the new female waitress was ok The starters came mine and my friends was pâté which was very average in it's appearance not homemade sliced from a packet I asked for mayonnaise The restaurant manager said mayonnaise on your pâté I said yes it's for the lettuce When he brought me the mayonnaise the spoon in the mayonnaise was dirty with a red mark on it The restaurant manager did apologise and replaced my starter as I had spread Mayo across my food when he returned he did say sorry again but did also comment it was just dried on cranberry sauce The starter came with 2 very small pieces of very slightly toasted smart price bread We asked for a couple more pieces of toast the female waitress obliged I'm sure they were taking the mick when about 16 pieces appeared again barely toasted When the waitress came to collect the plates I did tell her the lettuce was very brown around the edges which I had left on the plate She said she would tell the kitchen The main courses came The restaurant manager asked us if we wanted some sauces I said yes please can I have some English mustard He returned and didn't ask how much he just put a big fancy splurge on the edge of my plate I thought this was odd and a bit rude but let it go After we had just started eating our food the restaurant manager did return and ask us if everything was OK But we had just started eating so made real comment We all talked about our food whilst eating The chips tasted greasy, The vegetables arrived on a flat plate uninviting and these were very soft and mushy The fish over cooked The beef poor quality We all were very disappointed We had come to the Bentley for our friends 65th birthday When the restaurant manager came to collect the plates he said was everything ok To which we replied no You could tell by his expression and his body language that he was not happy that we had said no he didn't listen as every time we said something he made a comments The became aggressive in his behaviour towards my friend Even though we told him this was one of the worst meals I had eaten in a 4 star He still offered us the desserts and coffee menu what a joke !! Our friends was extremely upset This was supposed to a special occasion for our friends 65th birthday a meal at the Bentley hotel NOT as it turned out The restaurant manager needs to respect people views and comments Thanks to a helpful general manager he did refund £30 back off our meal and listened

    « Christmas Market »

This hotel ticked all the boxes. The executive rooms were spacious and included dressing gowns and slippers and rooms had sky sports if needed. The leisure complex was very impressive along with the changing facilities. The evening meal was excellent and the breakfast was buffet service which allowed you as much or as little as you wished. Along with The excellent customer service from all staff including reception, dining room and bar service we would definitely return.

« Needs to review its menu and fast »

We came for a Christmas party and was very disappointed with the food. The menu was bland the spoil was like slop, the girls working didn't know what the soup was and told us it was pea and ham but it was Defo chicken. The main I had was squash with half a squash, melted cheese at one end and then dry veg, no sauce!! The turkey looked just at bad! Also when I git my cheese half my biscuits were missing!! We weren't expecting restaurant food but the food we got was awful! I hardly ate a thing. The staff were lovely though and very efficient. They were very cheery and in great Christmas spirit. Especially the bar staff.. They were ace. Now on to the DJ, when asked by another party goer if he could play a song he replied with the fact that he couldn't as his play list was set???? What??? Really on party nights!! He also played the same song twice!!! That said we had a good night as we always do when out in a group but would Defo not go there again abs definitely would not recommend it to anyone. You need to revise your party nights and bring them up to date.... It honestly was like stepping back in time!

    « Christmas market visit »

We booked this hotel for our visit to the Christmas market as most others were fully booked. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The leisure facilities were excellent and the staff very friendly. The only problem was we thought it was within walking distance of the centre. It was miles away so we had to take a taxi each way at £10.30 fixed price. We would have giving this a 5 star rating but due to a drunken incident in the room next to us at 3am that was horrendous we got a sleepless night and we learnt next day that police were called. Although the reception staff apologised it ruined our stay and no compensation was offered for the worst nights stay at a hotel. Our friends also had a bad sleep as in their room 355 there was a constant droning noise that kept them awake all night. When they complained they were told that it had been reported before but again no compensation for a lost nights sleep was offered. A small gesture would have been appreciated and as a result we will not be returning to the Bentley. As Best Western Gold card holders we did expect better. So if you are going to the Christmas market next year try to get a hotel within walking distance, better book now!

    « Amazing »

Wonderful hotel, great staff, lovely room and amazing food in the restaurant. The evening meal was out of this world, and we sent compliments to the chef. Staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. Parking was very difficult, but the hotel was fully booked. We had an amazing stay and didnt want to go home .

    « Christmas party night »

This must be the smallest xmas meal ever. Everything was cooked well but portion sizes were very small and we are not big eaters at all. The meringue dessert was awful, all cream and no meringue ! Didn't expect to go home hungry after what we paid ! Service was good but after our 3rd disappointing meal experience its doubtful we will return. Such a shame as its a lovely venue.

« One of my best Xmas presents »

I was given a voucher for 2 nights for 2 people last Xmas and came with my sister. We had a great time and would like to thank especially the restaurant staff for their help, friendliness and care of us even when very busy. The food was lovely. We liked the location as we could take a bus into Lincoln where we also had a good day. The proximity of the garden centre was an added bonus too. The room was comfortable and well provided with those essential items. We used the spa facilities although were a bit nonplussed when wanting to use the facilities on our last morning as we were told we should have booked and also were not eligible to use the resources other than the pool. This was not clarified on our initial booking in. Overall we had a very good stay thank you.

« Great location great hotel »

Stopped here recently it is a great location for visiting Lincoln and surrounding areas. The rooms are fairly spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. Added advantage with it being a BW Plus is that it has a spa including a swimming pool great to chill out in before evening meal. Used the restaurant for Friday night meal was really very nice would recommend but could tell most guests didn't use it probably too tight. Staff very helpful and they serve a good breakfast. Liked it a lot good VFM

« Our Experience for a stay to visit the Christmas Fair »

Our overall experience was excellent. Executive room excellent, clean, well decorated and comfy, plenty of towels of all sizes and bath robes. Plenty of hot water for showers and no waiting, The booking in and out was efficient and accurate, The restaurant food and service cannot be faulted and the quality of the meals and menu again excellent. They even allowed my wife to choose what sauce she wished for her main course, first class. Overall the staff we very professional, Sophie went the extra mile in her service in the restaurant and the whole Hotel gave a professional appearance and delivered a first class value for money experience. The management must be congratulated for their leadership. We will see you again, thank you.

    « Bentley Hall Hotel »

Comfortable, clean, pleasant, no trouble. We liked the unforced helpful attitude of the staff. The swimming pool is most suitable for occasional swimmers as the floor is level & the water not too deep even for short persons.

« Clean and tidy. Comfortable stay, »

Not too far away from Lincoln city centre, with good access roads and free parking. Comfortable rooms and a decent TV for a change. Friendly and helpful staff. Great swimming pool facilities but no children allowed in the pool after 6pm. Will definitely stay here again, subject to price.

    « Great Hotel »

While the outside doesn't look special the inside is! The staff are all friendly and very helpful. Spa is great and all the services brilliant. Only downside is the location near a busy road, but we requested a quiet room and got one so that was no problem at all. Great stay.

    « Good business hotel »

This hotel punches above it's weight and is very good value. Staff are efficient, friendly and able to communicate well. The room service was very fast and of good quality. Minor grumble is that breakfast is not served until 0700 (not good for those of us who have to be on the road at a sensible time). There is an early room service breakfast but mine was served with warm cheap orange juice and ordered items missed off. There is a nice 15m pool and hairdressers on site.

« Nice hotel but bizarre breakfast service »

A really nice clean hotel with attentive reception staff. My only issue is with breakfast. It is supposed to open at 7.00 but they are always a couple of minutes late and when they open the doors not everything is out - apart from for one particular guest who waltzes in past the waiting guests before 7 and gets served in the dark. Not great for the rest of us when you need to get into the office.

« An excellent hotel despite the drab exterior appearance »

We stayed 3 nights at the Bentley Hotel, as a family with 3 rooms including a disabled adapted room. Initial impressions were disappointing when pulling into the car park as it is located on a very busy road junction of the Lincoln bypass and the exterior appearance is modern in a motel sort of way with characterless signage. The initial impression didn't last however as once inside the hotel was excellent - well appointed and clean rooms, friendly staff, lovely food and great leisure facilities. If you are sensitive to traffic noise some of the rooms overlooking the main road were a little noisy but not bad enough to disturb our sleep - the rooms at the rear of the hotel were quieter though. We would definitely pay another visit to the hotel if we are in the Lincoln area again.

    « Excellent 2 night stay »

The hotel is easy to access by car at the southern edge of Lincoln, only a few miles from the A1 junction at Newark. Very comfortable room, good dining and also bar meals. We didn't have time to try the leisure facilities.

    « Fabulous place »

I attended a bitrhday party 31/10/2015 and stayed overnight at this Hotel, the whole experience was wonderful and the attention to detail was impressive, everything went like clockwork and the Birthday party was a great success. WE stayed in the Lauren Suite which was very special and comfortable, with plenty of room to entertain our friends - if you want comfort and quality with friendly helpful staff this is the place for you!

    « Sunday Lunch »

We have recently visited this hotel for a Sunday Lunch with family - sorry to say we were very disappointed!! As we were being treated by my Husbands father it didn't seem appropriate to complain. We were in a conservatory at the side of the restaurant and it was soulless. The carvery was on a free standing unit at the side of the room. There was absolutely no atmosphere. The food was luke warm - the vegetables were overcooked and mushy !!! The Yorkshire pudding was like rubber and the stuffing rock hard.. We have eaten at another Best Western recently and there is absolutely no comparison. On a more positive note the staff looking after us were lovely - so friendly, professional and helpful

« Great hotel on the edge of Lincoln »

We had booked one night as we were attending a 70th Birthday party in the afternoon. From booking in until we checked out we could not fault anything. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. This was a private party with a two course meal - the food was excellent and the room was nicely set out. The room was great - big and really comfortable. We had breakfast the following morning which was a help yourself buffet. Great choice and plenty of it. Unfortunately we did not get the chance to use the pool or spa - hopefully next time.

« Get the plumbing sorted! »

In October last year we stayed at the Bentley and had a very hot shower that would not switch off. Luckily it was on our morning of departure so we abandoned our hotel bedroom and checked out. The manager deducted the cost of two glasses of wine to compensate for the inconvenience - which were very disappointed about. However as we liked the spa facilities and the rest of the visit had been good we decided to give it another chance this year. This time we had very Luke warm water in the shower and could not use it. Instead we had to walk down two corridors in our dressing gowns to use a shower in the staff quarters! We were given a free glass of wine each to compensate for the inconvenience. This is not only inadequate it is insulting as I very much get the feeling that this is regularly how the hotel deals with their plumbing issues. As for the rest of the stay , some of the staff are really nice but the receptionist when we arrived spoke too fast, was unfriendly and was trying to race my elderly mother through the signing in process. Also our room safe did not work ( and it did not work last year). Finally we ordered room service and were sent the wrong food - we had lost the will to complain by then and my elderly mother was getting very distressed by it all. We would like to be able to use the hotel again but I am not confident that another year will see any improvements. We mentioned all our issues to the nice receptionist on departure but she didn't seem to be able to do anything about it. Disappointing!

    « Brilliant Place »

I have stayed in this hotel many times as I used to work for a large company in Lincoln and our training is not far from it. The rooms are lovely, nice and fresh and clean and up to date. I have tried food in the bar which is always tasty and good to eat with reasonable prices. I have also eaten in the restaurant the food is excellent I couldn't fault it they also do a set menu with a choice of starter main and sweet it's about 20 pounds upwards depending on what you want I have ate from that many times I used to look forward to going to the hotel. The staff are great nothing is a problem to them. I give it top marks and although I left the company where i worked due to disability I will return to hotel for sure . .

    « Surprising Gem! »

Arrived and was slightly disappointed by the exterior - reminded me of Crossroads Motel! However, what this lovely hotel lacks in looks it provides in service level in spades. The staff could not have been more helpful - at every turn, and without exception. The pool, spa area and changing rooms are very clean and tidy and the gym well equipped. The restaurant food was great, and very reasonably priced. Even when my chilli pasta dish was a little too hot, the food was changed without any question and importantly without creating any embarrassment. I'd taken some helium and balloons to use to decorate our table for lunch the next day (meeting relatives), we'd mistakenly bought an empty cylinder - the hotel quickly sorted out the helium for us and even put the balloons up. I would also mention the beds were the most comfortable I've slept on in a hotel for quite a number of years. Lots of pillows and a pillow menu, slept soundly for 10 hrs!! Lovely quite hotel. Fantastic weekend, all down to the staff and the ambience. Would definitely recommend.

    « Our Wedding weekend »

A fantastic hotel to have your wedding at. We had the most amazing day, well whole weekend really. The hotel couldn't do anymore for us throughout the whole weekend, not just on our wedding day. All staff members were polite, professional and very helpful, they were excellent with all guests especially the younger ones. The food was was excellent not only at our reception but in the restaurant too. Giovanni and his team are a credit to this hotel. Thank you all again Mr & Mrs Wade.

« Weekend went swimmingly for the Grandlings. »

A bit of a cool reception from a rather abrupt desk attendent on our arrival but we ignored it and found our booking for a family room for the weekend all in order. Huge room well appointed with three beds and bits and bobs to keep the grandlings occupied. Best bit for them was locking their pocket money in the safe then safely retrieving it. Bathtime then bedtime in clean and tidy surroundings with lots of towels and bath robes. Could have done with a fridge for cool drinks and bottle of milk etc. Breakfast was a buffet selection, reasonable but have seen a lot more choice and a lot better cooked food in other hotels of this class. First friendly staff we'd met in the breakfast room, efficient and helpful. Swimming pool was a must for the youngsters and this was the main reason for choosing this hotel over any other in Lincoln. All in all for two days B&B for a family room we paid £282 which I thought a lot for what was a fairly modest hotel. Still musn't grumble as we did have lots of room, and quiet too..

    « Week End Break »

This was our first stay with a Best Western hotel and found it to be a very pleasant stay. We had booked a two night stay (Fri - Sat) with breakfast and was not disappointed. Greeted by desk staff and booked in very quickly then onto our room. The room very clean and to our surprise adjacent to the A46 ground floor no noise of traffic was noticeable. Complimentary drinks plentiful in our room, bath robes, extra blankets, hair dryer also available in the room. At breakfast greeted and seated, food is buffet style and plentiful also very well layed out, no reason for going hungry. The whole area is kept to a high standard and wouldn't have any trouble recommending the Bentley Hotel to anyone. Unfortunately our schedule did not allow us time to use the leisure facilities but we hope to return in the future. We found all the staff, front desk, waitresses, domestics very pleasant indeed

« Reviewing the spa only »

I tried this spa for the first time this week, I had an amazingly relaxing facial and I would thoroughly recommend it. At first the surrounding seem a bit cold but the treatment room was very cosy warm and welcoming. My therapist had just the right mix of firm and gentle. I was given a loyalty card and will certainly use that.

« Nice week end break »

We had an overnight stay to visit family. The staff from the moment we arrived were very friendly. Our room 120 was on the ground floor and was lovely and spotless with plenty of room not just a bed but two armchairs and a table to sit at. The bathroom was very good too. The bed was big and firm and we had plenty of pillows to choose from. As we were guests at the hotel we were allowed to use the spa facilities. I took advantage of the pool where you were given a towel and a locker all for no charge . The pool was a big and brilliant for swimming in. There was also a steam room and sauna and a hot tub. The bar was just the right size and the staff were brilliant a pint of Guiness and a J20 was £6. Breakfast was just what we needed to start our day and you could have anything you liked from porridge cereal to a full breakfast which is what we had all well cooked. Constant hot drinks were offered and plenty of toast . Every one from the manager right down to the cleaners spoke to you as you passed. I would definitely come back again.
