Best Western La Plata Inn

Spent 3 nights. Comfortable bed, good TV. Noisy climate control system. Breakfast area staff on Monday and Wednesday excellent! Egg and sausage products need to be improved. I would stay here again and hope improvements are implemented.

We stayed for 2 nights and had no problems other than needing a re- key. It was quiet, the beds comfortable, and the staff friendly and accommodating! Breakfast offered a good variety of choices. We will stay here again!

I'm a simple guy that doesn't always need top notch stuff. Staff is friendly and breakfast was surprising decent and well stoked. I say every year for the big Budds Creek MX National, so I will most likely stay again next year.

You should be paying me to stay at your hotels. This is the 2nd one where the filth and mold were so visible. GREEN mold on the ceilings! Black mold in the bathroom. Dead bugs, signs of mice behind the bed, which looks like it has never been cleaned. Put sign out to have room done and it was not. When I asked at the front desk, they said, "you probably had the sign on the door". No kidding! The one that says clean the room. When I was told to ask the cleaning service to get me some towels, they did not understand what I was saying nor understood the room number. THIS is why the room wasn't clean. They can't read English.Good thing we leave rooms cleaner than when we find them. Drawers to put your stuff in don't open and if you do try, they fall apart in your hand. You should pay me for fixing that too. The bathroom was filthy all over. Soap scum and mold and the drain was so clogged that when you shower the tub fills to your knees. The pool is inoperable and covered. The breakfast area is filthy and gross. We didn't eat your vile swill. The rat traps out in the open were a lovely touch. Exit doors were set up so they never lock from the outside. Safety is not your prime concern I guess. You need to up your game. You run a terrible hotel no matter what state I visit and book in your locations.

The staff are friendly, warm and inviting. Everyone treats you like your part of their family and you can tell they take pride in what they do and also enjoy working there. The facility is clean, the rooms are clean, all of the appliances in the room were working and surprisingly the fridge actually had a freezer that froze what ever you put in it. The hot water in the bathroom was actually hot and the toiletries provided had a great scent to them. The complimentary breakfast and coffee was great. Ms. Shenita made it even more wonderful with her conversation and cleaning routine. Thank you Ms. Shenita for having such a wonderful soul! Thank you to Ms Cassandra for making check out a breeze and thank you to the man who checked us in (name unknown) you had a great smile and created the tone for our stay which was amazing.

I recently had a 3-night stay at this hotel and have mixed feelings about ever returning. The first room I was given (room #236) was humid, moldy smelling, had an odor that smelled like marijuana had been smoked there previously and overall caused my eyes and throat to itch. There was a random door inside the room, beside the bed nearest the window. When I went to check it out, I noticed the lock was not engaged. I quickly locked it. The bedside table was old and had areas of the wood that appeared to be scraped off. The dust cover on the lower portions of the two queen beds were old and dingy. The room had a creepy vibe overall besides the poor air quality and odors. I tried to call the front desks from the phone in the room and it did not work. I used my cellphone  and was surprised that the worker had no problem moving me to another room. She didn't even ask why. Maybe she knew that room was hideous, but why would they put people in it in the first place???The second room was much better - no problems with odor, dampness, and the locks worked. The bathroom was clean and the beds were clean. The air quality was much better though dusty from the air conditioning unit, which had filters you could slide out and see all the dust that accumulated. Would be great if they cleaned these units up on a regular basis. I slept with the window open to balance air quality. The breakfast offerings were good - decent selection, though bad yogurt choices (only two varieties- full of chemicals and dyes), terrible hot beverage selection, but they do offer sealed bottles of water- a much safer bet. The cold beverage machine had two juices (when available). The orange juice was bitter and thick- probably need to clean that machine too. The breakfast area was very clean and the staff was pleasant. Lastly, there were rocks propping open each of the security doors leading to the outside of the building. These doors were at the ends of hallways and lead to the parking lot from various points, as well as the pool in the back of the hotel. (the Pool was NOT opened, it still had the seasonal cover on)  Why these rocks were there, I don't know. Several guests kicked the rocks away so the door would close completely, but every time I went in or out, a rock was replaced, keeping the door open. I didn't use the fitness room because I felt uncomfortable not knowing if someone off the street would just show up in the building, and put us at risk.  

We stayed for 3 days in La Plata, MD. Our suite was large and somewhat met our needs, but the towels in the bathroom were extremely thin. The breakfast the first day was very cold and we felt unsafe, so we when to McDonalds the next 2 days. The internet never worked properly and the front desk offered no help. There is a pool on site, but it was covered and not in use. We are coming back in a couple of days, but are using the Holiday Inn Express next door.

Lets just say I left an extensive review for mgmt.. Good thing I always travel with my disposable sheets, my own towels and cleaning supplies. Lysol spray and wipes will be your best friend. And the breakfast is definitely a no go.

This hotel did not meet the BW standard I am accustom to. The room (#113) needs to be renovated. The carpet smells bad, there are large stains on the walls and mold on the shower walls. The bed was comfortable and there were no issues with sheets and bedding. The water temperature and pressure was adequate. The breakfast area was clean and well maintained. There was a variety of hot and cold breakfast food options which were also well stocked at 8AM. The brewed on demand coffee was good.

If I could leave NO stars I would. This place was just disgusting. Most disgustingly, our room was humid and wet and smelled SO foul. The person checking us in was so bothered and inconvenienced that I asked which card I had used to book the room, wanting to use the same card. The employee managing the breakfast was rude and unprofessional and barked at my husband so much he just left. The side doors were often propped open by a rock, so anyone could just come in. There was grime splashed all over the bottom of the bed and the chair. The seat of the chair had some dirt or food crusted all over it so no one could sit there. Never again.

We had 9 people staying here and everything was as planned. rooms were as we ordered them and were ready upon arrival. We were able to use the breakfast room in the evening to gather and have a small birthday celebration. All personnel were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

The price was great especially since the other places next to it charge alot more. It's nothing fancy but the rooms are clean and the staff is helpful. Free internet and breakfast. Would recommend to others.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Nice room, elevator clean, and great breakfast. The front desk people need some more training in customer service, but some places can't get any help at all, so that was something we let not bother us. Would definitely stay there again.

No one at front desk upon arrival to check us in. I waited forever it felt like and finally had to use my cell phone to call hotel to get someone to check me in. Towels are dingy, room is dirty, no remote for tv and phone is dead! Bed super hard and can hear every noise from hallway. Hotel has really gone downhill since our stay last year. One of the worst Best Westerns ever! Remote we finally got wouldn't turn tv off so we had to wind up crawling behind cabinet to unplug it! No service at this place at all!!!

I left early on my trip I had a few problems with the internet and getting it fixed. So, I maybe a little hard on this review. The breakfast was OK. Quite a few choices. There are a few places to eat not very far from the hotel you do probably have to drive to them. The room had a few problems like clock and the phone was dead. Room was sized right and should be OK to stay. Just watch yourself.

I arrived at the hotel and the agent was not helpful at all. My sister made reservations and guaranteed payment with a credit card. When I arrived I had to have my sister come to the hotel to swipe the card. When I was finally given a room the room had not been cleaned. When I notified the front desk I was told there was no one to clean the room and I was given linen and towels and told I had to do it myself if I wanted to stay.

Staff were friendly and helpful and location was convenient. Despite strong smell of cleaner, our room was downright grimy. dirt on carpet, stained chair, and ants popping out of night table during the night. my kid didn't care about ants, so at least one of us slept well! hope not to be back.

We stay at this location when traveling to soMD. (13 times in 10months) Front desk ladies, Breakfast Hostess and housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful. Location is easy to get to. Free hot/cold breakfast. Pool open during warm weather. Smoke free building.

The lady at the front desk had such a mean attitude at check in. It took three hours for a paid for in advance reservation. We had to have Expedia intervene and she was So rude and ignored us on the phone. Then come to find out she said she's a manager when I asked to speak to one. I had a confirmation a receipt and still she wouldn't let us stay. Once Expedia fixed it then the room was nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable. Bonita at breakfast was nice and the biscuit and gravy was good at breakfast. I have never dealt with a worse front desk person ever! Won't be back cause of it.

Beautiful hotel inside and outside! Clean and comfortable- exactly what you want from a BW. But the cherry on top; the staff. Front desk. Breakfast host…both make you feel like family. Even better, they make you feel like family elders by going the extra steps to make sure you're happy. This BW is worth going out of your way for.

nice halfway hotel for us, could be a little cleaner, breakfast staff was wonderful. the beds were a little noisy & the pillows too soft. is was set a good distance off the highway so the traffic noise was reduced

Room was fine except we could hear everything the man in the next room was saying on the phone. The sound came through the doors that could be opened to turn the room into a suite. Best Western needs to do something to insulate these doors so the sound doesn't travel so freely from room to room.

Bathroom floor was dirty, toiletries were missing and hair dryer was broken. There appeared to be a missing end table from next to the bed. The front desk did provide a replacement hair dryer but did have to wait a bit for it.

The free breakfast was not worth the price. The deadbolt on our door did not work. There were paint drops everywhere. The staff was excellent. From the desk personnel to the cleaning staff to the breakfast staff, all superior.

No better than a Motel 6. Horrible road and parking lot noise. Abominable wifi signal. TV signal that was lo-def and more like antenna reception than cable. Best thing about the experience was the desk clerk and the cleanliness of the room. Everything else was dismal.

Firstvtime staying at this hotel.Every space was super clean and the staff very friendly and fast.The pool was clean and the pool area was also very clean. Only thing they can change is the TV high, but oder than that my stay was great.

I'd stay here again. The breakfast they offer is excellent! It has hot and cold options and something for everyone. I was with my elderly mother, and the staff was beyond helpful in her care when needed, down to the room's location. We stayed here during covid, and they appeared to be diligent about sanitization. We enjoyed our stay here.

Walking into the room you get hit in the face with mildew/ smoke smell. The AC unit was leaking soaking the carpet. The towels were DIRTY I could see a stained hand print on them. When I asked the front desk for new towels she reluctantly went to get new towels handed me 2 “new/clean” ones and then proceeded to tell me “ this is all we have you need to bring down your dirty ones” I have never stayed in a hotel I was told to bring down my DIRTY towels! The front desk staff was extremely rude. When asked to switch rooms because the mildew smell was to much they switched us to a room with no pillows. The washing machine broke, Ice machine stopped working, fixtures were broken or just not working. The side doors were always open( which if closed you would need your room key to get in) this allows not only anyone off the street to come in but it makes the hallways EXTREMELY hot! I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Do not stay here. All the rooms smell like smoke and mildew. Pool is cloudy and slimy. We had exposed wires on our broken light switch their solution was a piece of tape to cover it. Smoke detector hanging off the wall. Ants in the room. Jesus needs to take the wheel here.

The absolute worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. It was so dirty, and the smell alone was enough to knock anyone out. Their solution was to spray the rooms, which help for a few mins and went back to smelling pure mildew. I swear it looked like the hotel hadn't been cleaned for weeks, maybe even months. Sheets were ripped, fixtures broke throughout the facility. The ONLY thing that look halfway descent was the front lobby, and even that was iffy.

Everything went very well from reservation -to check in -to check out. Room were clean and spacious. Covid restrictions in place and worked well. Breakfast was altered, but went great. Will definitely stay there again.

My stay at the Best Western in LaPlata Md. was great the staff there were very friendly and courteous and helpful during my time of check in and I would highly recommend any one I know to stay there if ever in the area and need a place to stay for overnight or however long

The staff and rooms are great go out of there way to make you welcome and comfortable. Especially for us who have to work out of town. Close to job and plenty of shopping and restaurants to dine at .enjoy my stay when I'm here

A very nice place to stay that you feel safe in, nice and clean , rooms have plenty of space and the breakfast room has plenty of options. Out side was a birdfeeder what has plenty of bird to watch especially while it was snowing.

From the moment I walked into the lobby, I knew I had chosen well. Their entire staff provide a "Home Away from Home" during my 15 night stay. It was a difficult time in my life after losing my dad the month before in Arizona and these wonderful people treated me like they knew me their whole lives. Clean rooms which are kept up and easy to tell that the hotel has Leaders, not just Managers.

I have been staying at various hotels during this pandemic and this Best Western is by far the best place I've stayed at. Despite all the new rules brought about by COVID this hotel has been able to adapt and still keep everyone safe. Kudos to the owners and staff for their outstanding service.

My family and I were traveling and decided to stop for a nights rest, this was the only hotel available in the city so we were grateful.1st off they lied about the sizing of the beds in the room, there were bugs and dust throughout, stains all over the bed sheets And pillow cases. water damage all over the walls and the door that connects the next room was falling apart. We had to change our own sheets. The staff was very rude !!! The shift manager was extremely passive and dismissive when we wanted to explain the unsatisfactory condition of the room. Especially during the time of a pandemic ! Terrible experience.

Clean room, nice people, amid COVID19 scare, very down to earth people. This location is always a good value, not too far out, but not too close to the city either. Local amenities are good, Generally makes working in PG county a little less stressful.

My husband and I are relocating in the area. Bad timing for us, but while we are waiting to move into our new place it has been very overwhelming with everything.The staff here are like family, meeting any need I have had. Thank God I was able to find this Best Western of LaPlata. I would highly say to stay here. You won't be sorry.

Good hotel at a good price. Comfortable and clean, hot breakfast and a very caring and concerned operations manager who put us in an upgraded room when we informed her of some problems with the room we were in.

Clean, comfortable room. Very friendly staff who was most helpful and did everything to make a pleasant stay. Good breakfast selection with typical hot and cold choices, coffee, juices...all the usual fare. Will definitely stay again when back in the area !!

We had to come into town in January for a funeral and decided to stay at this hotel since the funeral was in LaPlata. When we first arrived we were greeted by a very nice hotel manager, so check in was very nice. It kinda went downhill from there. When we entered our room, our room was extremely warm. The heat was on full blast. We turned the heat off but it was so hot that we decided to leave and go shopping. When we got back it was more comfortable. I did notice that the room was nice and clean and the TV was nice. When we went to bed I turned on the heat again since it was very cold outside and within a few minutes the room became really hot again. I kept trying to get the room comfortable and I could never get comfortable. I was either too cold or too hot. My husband felt the same way. It made for a very restless sleep. The next morning when I got into the shower I had the exact same problem with the water....just a little nudge one way and it was way too hot (really, really hot) then a nudge the other way it was too cold. I also found the bed to be uncomfortable. The room was also very small and tight. We struggled with getting comfortable our whole stay. Also, the breakfast was not good. The eggs appeared to be powered eggs and some of the power wasn't mixed well (gritty). I thought they were supposed to have oatmeal but it wasn't there the morning we went which was a disappointment. The coffee wasn't good. Also, our room was right near a side door and I kept hearing the door bang closed the whole night. I just couldn't get comfortable in this hotel. I won't be back.

Room was nice and clean. Beds were very comfortable. No complaints. Check in they asked for $100 deposit because I paid online with a hotel reservation company. Breakfast was good. Eggs were ok. Sausage was good. Cereals Anne fresh Waffles were good.

No problems the hotel was very clean, the bed was comfortable. Rhonda took care of breakfast and was amazingly hospitable. Front desk people were great too. Parking is easy. I would definitely recommend.

I had an emergency at my home two days before Christmas. The emergency required my family to be completely displaced immediately. I called best Western and made reservations for rooms immediately. I have a very large family of seven and four in-laws in town for the Christmas holidays. My parents are in their 80s, my children, my grandson, and my in-laws. The staff at the hotel was absolutely wonderful. They were very professional and very pleasant to deal with. They did everything they could to accommodate us. It was Christmas and we were in a hotel with no gifts or anything. But, your staff managed to make a very sad and stressful Christmas as Blessed as it could be considering the circumstances. When we arrived they were waiting and extremely helpful. We were there for a week and were extremely pleased with everything. They could upgrade the breakfast, not bad but not the best either. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!!

Hotel staff was very friendly, check in was quick. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was amazing. The free breakfast was great, they had waffles, oatmeal, sausage and toast.

The staff at La Plata Inn went above and beyond for my family who was having a hard time during their stay. They were patient, and genuine in their desire to help. To put it simple, They are awesome. Thank you!

My family and I were in town for a funeral. The hotel was great! The staff were kind and courteous. They were efficient in meeting my needs. I felt that the staff was also trustworthy. A housekeeper had left a note stating they weren't able to make our bed one morning because they weren't allowed to touch personal belongings, and we had left an iPad on the bed. We rented a queen suite, it was comfortable for the 4 of us, the environment was clean and the climate was comfortable. The room had great water pressure. I would highly recommend staying here, and I will definitely choose this hotel for my future trips back to visit family. They for sure had the best coffee I had on my whole trip, and the breakfast was delicious.

large bathroom, super clean, great room, updated with great bedding for very comfortable sleep this hotel was soooo much better than the upscale hotel we stayed at in cleveland that was double the price. I was concerned if it would be nice since the rate was so inexpensive, but it surpassed my expectations and will be my hotel of choice for that area when we visit family again. Breakfast area could be larger, but may have been packed more than usual since our stay was over the Thanksgiving holiday and lots of families. best to go for breakfast as early as possible for good seating

Can hear every noise near your room. We were assigned a room in the middle of an area filled with contractors that don't understand quiet or thoughtfulness towards guests. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. Not everyone eats SOS.

The staff at this hotel are the best. They are very friendly and helpful. The room was fine, but we were unfortunate enough to get very loud neighbors. At breakfast the food was average but the room is small and very hard to move around.

The hotel and rooms, (several family members stayed), were very clean and the staff was very attentive. The breakfast area was also very nice and had a good variety of breakfast foods and drinks. There was also plenty of parking and a well lit lot.There is also adequate parking for boats and trailers with provisions for charging batteries. The gym was also clean but had exercise equipment that had broken cables and was in need of repair. The pool area was also nice but the pool water was cloudy and appeared to need attention. If we were not exercise oriented we would have rated the Hotel a 5 as everything else was perfect.

While I will say that everyone was very nice and courteous, the room left much to be desired. As soon as we opened the door we were met with a gross smell- a mix of stale smoke and damp musk...even my 4 year old commented on how "yucky" the room smelled each time we went in (in fact his first comment when we got home was that he was glad he didn't have to sleep in that gross smell. The floor felt damp and we made sure to wear our shoes the whole time. I'm not sure what it was, but it was unpleasant. We did not say anything to anyone because we were already aware that both hotels in town were fully booked and we didn't have a choice, but it would make me hesitant to stay there again.

This hotel is clean , has hot breakfast and staff is very nice!!! would stay again. if you are looking for a nice clean hotel this is one. when we arrived staff was nice and fast check in! when we went down for breakfast next morning, staff was very helpful.

Check in was easy and fast and so was the check out.... Room was clean ...We had no issues ... Breakfast area was nice and clean with a good variety ... It was a good deal $ and for a nice clean room while passing thru

The following is evidence of cutting corners: • No luggage rack • No electric outlets on desk for charging • Doorknob to room was loose and had to be turned just right to get the door open • Lamps are rickety and easily knocked over • Not enough hangers in the closet Other negatives: • The A/C unit does not cool the room to the degree chosen – and why two thermostats? The one on the wall appears to have no real function, yet it is turned on and the temperature setting changes with the up-and-down arrows. However, the settings on the unit under the window do not change simultaneously. To cool the room, we relied on the controls on the unit under the window. • Musty smell in hallway seems to be coming from the carpets. Hallway A/C unit next to our room was unplugged – if it was running, perhaps it would have diminished the musty smell. • Breakfast area is very small • No cooked oatmeal • Employees don't smile and say hello There are positives: • The refrigerator has a freezer compartment. • The front desk employee at the time of check in was very friendly and service-oriented. • If you can put up with the negatives, the hotel offers a good value. I'm not sure if we will stay here again when returning to the area.

The ladies at the desk are wonderful. Courteous, polite and very sweet. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Parking is great even with a boat. They have outside plugs to plug your boat in. They even have cookies for a late night snack!!

Overhead construction in lobby when I first arrived. Keycard reader took several minutes when I tied to get into my room.....every....single.....time! Fitness center machine was broken. On a good note, the breakfast was ok.

I was in town for a visit with my Aunt. She passed away the next day. I'm glad I got to spend time with her before her passing. Thanks for making my stay welcoming and enjoyable. I'm coming back saturday for the memorial but sadly you are full house. Maybe next time.

We stayed in the king suite which felt like a spacious one bedroom luxury apartment. It was bright and open with four large windows in the living room area, a huge separate bedroom large enough for a king size bed, ottoman, tv stand and bedside tables. The bedroom even included yet another large window, closet and private entrance to the bathroom. The bathroom was also spacious and bright with updated fixtures, plenty of clean fluffy linens and sparkling clean. Our teenager was able to comfortably sleep in the living room area on the sofa bed and still have some privacy, the kitchenette and own TV . I will definitely stay here again when visiting family in the area. I could not have asked for a better experience for the great price. Someone is paying attention to the details here and it SHOWS!!! Fantastic job.

The Facility continues to upgrade both interior and exterior . The addition of additional outdoor Electric access makes this a great place for fisherman, with adequate parking for our Boats. Kudos to the entire staff.

The is our second stay for our team at the Best Western in La Plata. We enjoy staying here because of the staff, location and quality of the rooms. Wi-Fi works well and is password protected. Breakfast is basic, but warm and has many selections. Many restaurants are within an easy drive down highway 301. Staff was always professional and friendly towards us.

Very nice staff and place was very clean. Mrs Casandra was very accommodating with us as we did have to move rooms, however she made the transition smooth. Property was being renovated at the time we stayed and even the construction staff was nice and courteous.

Great stay at Best Western. Donya was friendly and helpful at check in. Our room was nice and clean. Breakfast was good,like that we had options. I was not disappointed Definitely will stay here again!

The staff was friendly and the rooms seemed to be fairly updated. It was nice to have the breakfast choices they offered. Our disappointment was with the cleaning service. Upon arrival we had to ask for all the toiletries including soap. We stayed for 4 nights. The 2nd day the bed was made but not much else was done if anything. We asked for toilet paper & towels which was a good thing because the next day they didn't clean or replenish towels or anything at all...the room was how we left it. The bed was not changed the whole 4 nights we stayed. I can overlook the cleaning not being as thorough as my standard but I don't think we were asking too much to have some attention. The receptionist at the desk wrote down our concerns to give to the manager but of course there was know follow up.

We recently stayed in BEST WESTERN Hotel and this was one of our favorite hotel from now onwards. The staff is amazing their specially Missy and Cassandra and the breakfast lady . They are very friendly and professional at same time. Rooms are clean and the breakfast is nice. Huge parking. We will definitely come back . Thank you all

Very nice and clean hotel. Check in and check out ladies was nice. They all new great places to go. The breakfast was wonderful and great staff. This Best Western was awesome. My room was nice and clean.

i like the hotel stay. Room was Clean and Comfortable. Visit often because of my business. Also its very nice location in town and nice connectivity to the business centers and route. see you again and hope will maintain.

check-in the lady was nice and quick gave good directions to were my room was at. As soon as I walked in my room it was nice and clean it smelled fresh. Breakfast the food was wonderful had a lot of verity of foods fresh fruits was a plus.On my check out it was other young lady and she was also nice and happy The staff was nice and pleasant. I will always stay at this locate when I visit Maryland again.

I stayed only a few hours when at 11pm my mother woke up scared that something was biting her. Although skeptical, I decided to check and found a bed bug! I asked the Manager to pay for her bill to be seen at Urgent Care and he responded, "These things happen." Stay here at your own risk. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express next door.

The hotel is located in the heart of La plata which worked well for me. The staff was super friends and the rooms were quite nice and updated. They only do breakfast till 9 so make sure you get up early.

I absolutely love the best western in laplata,Maryland.. They have the best staff EVER!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a place to stay in laplata, Maryland or even just to get away

This hotel was dirty there were bugs the staff was rude the free breakfast made me sick. I was staying there on business and working nights. The staff repeatedly ignored the do not disturb sign and just walked into my room while I was sleeping. When I finally decided I could stay there no longer was when they put my room next to a room that was under construction. When I complained they told me there was nothing they could do about it. When I said that I would have to check out if they could not solve the problems I was experiencing the Hotel manager sarcastically said "bye... bye... bye". While I was cleaning up my things to leave hotel staff surrounded me in a threatening manner. After I checked out I received prank phone calls from the hotel. They then called my employer to say that I was rude when leaving. I've stayed in multiple low cost hotels before and this is by far my worst experience

I stayed there for three nights. When we checked in in the early evening, I asked some questions to a receptionist; she replied courteously and jovially. The first impression from its receptionist in the early evening is so good so that I can't still clear off the image: She ia an amazing hotelier. Let me describe the hotel itself. First, it's affordable- under 100 dollars per night. (Definitely, don't expect frills.) Second, the lobby area is so big so you could use it for your own living room. Third, the room is spacious and clean with shampoo, facial soap and body soap bar separately provided; breakfast options are not many but they serve all basics; washer and drier is on site (you can use them with three dollars) with fast food restaurants nearby. Lastly, there's a good receptionist. Of course, there's the other staffers there but I can't tell anything about them because I went to work early and came back to BW La Plata Inn around 7:30 pm. Anyway, I recommend this hotel to any business travelers in that area.

We were in the area to meet friends and and chose this hotel because of the location. Staff was excellent, and the room was clean and comfortable. As we were driving with a long trip ahead of us, we really appreciated the small refrigerator in the room. Would definitely stay here again!

Needed a place to stay while visting friends. The first room had an issue and after was offered an upgrade to a beautiful suite. Nice place. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I would stay here again.

Room was clean and looks like it has been renovated recently. Bed was comfortable and bedding clean and crisp. Furniture was not worn out. Only issue was that the tub dripped water which was wasteful and annoying-told the front desk staff in the morning. Breakfast was good-eggs, biscuits, gravy, oatmeal, yogurts, coffee.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and fresh. Thank You!! Hotel now has a good elevator (despite older reviews) Workout room had a great variety of exercise options for a small space. All amenities needed are in the room and worked well. A/C kept room comfortable despite heat wave in August. Breakfast and coffee lounge were ready early every day. I would recommend adding walnuts or pecans or almonds to the condiments carousel for oatmeal / yogurt. It's not fancy, but the hotel met all my needs. Staff working hard to make this older hotel meet current expectations.

The employees at this hotel are examples of who should hold customer-oriented positions. They are wonderful. Hotel is a bit dated but it works for us. The breakfast is not a lot but just right. The room where it is held is crowded and small though.

Beware - The staff goes in your room when you leave, goes through your stuff, and your credit card disappears. Then a five (5) weeks later, Best Western charges unauthorized charges to your card, without permission or even contacting you. The bathrooms were dirty upon arrival, the key cards and door locks malfunction daily, leaving you locked out until the manager pries the door open with a crow bar. House keepers claim they DON'T speak any English, when you ask for a cleaning of your room. The swimming pool is green cloudy, and dirty! My daughter and friend were itching and broke out in a rash. Upon my first day there, I arrived and a former guest was there fussing about charges weeks later, that she didn't authorize. BEWARE!!

Good stay. Clean room, pleasant, welcoming desk. only problem was the smelled like a smoking room. I noticed the room across the hall had towels around the room. Would stay again.We were even given the option of rooms.

Walked in to a front desk that was unattended, but didn't wait more than 5 minutes for someone to come. The room was very basic, no frills. Coffee maker in the bathroom, small pillows and not enough coffee supplies. Reasonably clean and offered an outdoor pool that the kids loved.

Hotel staff was not helpful. Didn't get anything for being a rewards member, nor did desk clerk give the rewards points, even though told that we were a rewards member. After checking out, I asked if they gave me points and they said no, and they couldn't since I had already checked out. Had to contact Best Western Corporate to get rewards. We needed a hotel for an overnight stay during our trip from North Carolina to Massachusetts. The Best Western La Plata (Maryland) Inn was located conveniently for our stay. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast area was clean and well-organized. The food selections were adequate.

Stayed at this location for 3 nights as I came in town to relocate for work. The hotel itself was clean, breakfast was delicious, and overall I would have happily given 5 stars except for an interaction I had with the assistant manager... After my first night there, I went to work and when I returned I found my room clean and ordely, but a small bag that had my prescription glasses in it was missing. I can almost understand how it may have been mistaken for trash, but that does not excuse the response of management. Clemencia (assistant) seemed unaware of the issue (though she had been informed while I was standing there) and very non chalant about the fact that I was now out over $200 + missing my eye glasses, but kept stating there was nothing she could do...without ever offering ANY possible solution or asking what could make me ok with the whole situation. On the other hand an associate, Sabrina, was awesome in trying to make me a satisfied customer through communication and empathy, though her hands were tied to do much more than that. I may give this location another shot someday due soley to the customer service of the associates plus the cleanliness and price relative to the area... But I am HIGHLY disappointed with the management's lack of willingness to rectify a mistake one of their employees made! Now I paid $240 for room fees + just over $200 for a new pair of glasses for my stay at the Best Western.

We visited family in area so stayed 2 nights at BW in La Plata. Our pre visit rate was ideal. The hotel is clean, quiet with comfortable rooms. Breakfast was typical but has hot and cold choices. Only problem was the refrigerator froze all our food. Check the temp if you visit. Good place to stop in La Plata

I was disappointed in my stay this year compared to last year. The air conditioner made noise almost all night. The bathroom door wouldn't stay open, the paint on the bathroom ceiling was stained and pealing and the water in the shower changed temperature every minute or so. It went from hot to cold to really hot to really cold. The room my daughter stayed in was supposed to have been non-smoking but it wreaked of smoke and they had to change the room. It probably should have been cleaned and freshen better until the odor was gone, before using it for a customer. The breakfast was OK and the hotel is very conveniently located to restaurants. The TV worked great and the fridge worked well. It does seem to be very popular so I hope they take this review and make things better. I'd really like to come back next time I'm in this area.

We stayed at the Best Western with our group for one night as we were competing at the local High School the next morning. Once we arrived, everything was ready to go, rooms assigned, quick information brief about the amenities of the hotel, exceptional job to the young lady that checked us in. Great selections of restaurants are within a five minute drive, Wi-Fi works well and is password protected. Rooms are clean and well maintained. We will return to the La Plata next year and the Best Western is where we will stay again.

Our stay here over a Thursday night was uneventful for the most part. The place is small, but the room was clean and the water pressure was very good. We had no noise problems, and the complimentary breakfast looked good, although we did not have the time to partake. Our only issue was a bad light bulb that did not get replaced while we were there, but that did not impact our stay as there were plenty other light sources in the room.

One of the best complimentary breakfasts around! Extremely helpful & courteous staff, nice accommodations and amenities. Very close to many restaurants & shops, but still is quiet because it is on the edge of the commercial district.

The Best Western is outstanding. The check-in is quick and efficient. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The hotel itself is also very clean. There is plenty of parking in the front and rear and access to the rooms are very easy from the parking areas.

Did not enjoy my staff. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly but gave me 2 didfeeent rates when I arrived and I was not pleased with the odor in the room. I discussed my issues with front desk staff and nothing was done since I used hotline ( which I'll never do again). I was hoping for some sort of compensation since me and my guest were not pleased and got told there was nothing that could be done.

My first time to visit Best Western and it was not bad. They offer a continental breakfast and the lobby area was clean. My room was on the first floor and the curtain doesn't close all the way and the window was covered with a sheer curtain only. I could sit on the bed and look outside to the rear of the property. My room itself was clean and comfortable. The bed was nice and firm. I did notice several extension cords connecting their appliances. I didn't really need any front desk assistance but they were nice at check in. Bathroom was stocked and they provide a safe and iron w/board. Also plenty of parking. In room fridge and microwave. Overall this was a nice visit and the price was good and the location is good too there is a lot of businesses around the area. I would stay here again.

I had a door down in my room that led to the next room so anyone in the next room could enter my room. I reported it and even asked to just go into that room but they said no one would be allowed to rent that room. I still was not comfortable but went along. Later that night someone rented that room. Also the curtains did not close over the window so anyone could see in my room. The direct TV went out for a time.

This was my first stay at this hotel and it will most likely be my last. Clemencia and Donyeah were extremely nice about everything, but nothing was really resolved. My girlfriend came to visit and she was immediately grossed out by the bathtub in the first room. It looked stained and totally dirty. Then we got a second room and I had to force the door open. The sink sprayed us and the shower kept ringing. It was not what I'd expect from a Best Western. And they had the damn nerve to ask for $100 upfront for incidentals. How dare you ask that as a hotel with so many problems? You should be giving me $100 so I'll stay. I want a refund instead of points. I have to wait for the general manager to call me. That could take a week or it many never happen. And I also didn't get to enjoy my upgrade because the room was dirty. I was very disappointed overall

The room had a musty foul odor. Lysol provided by front desk clerk but no offer to move to another room. Also, faulty window (would open but would not close due to broken hinge). The overall appearance of the hotel is average. The breakfast was very good. The service from the front clerk at check in and check out was very good.

The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is awesome, but the staff is the best part of the LaPlata Best Western. The rooms are very clean and if your visiting friends or family in Southern Maryland it is centrally located and convenient to shopping and restaurants.

I've stayed in this hotel since it was built in my home town. It is clean, comfortable, and the staff is very helpful, courteous and engaging. The pool is great, the convenience of the location while having the amenities such as the gym and the laundry facility are very appealing to me. And it's 25% cheaper than the other local options with similar amenities.

Desk service was GREAT as was the housekeeping staff! The kitchen area was very clean and neat and the girl who was manning the area for breakfast, Shamekica, did a FANTASTIC job! Hotel manager was asked to call us and has not. Our room was not cleaned during our stay. We removed the do not disturb sign at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and specifically reported a problem with the AC (leaking water on the carpet) the room was not touched. We were given a token reduction in the rate, which is not satisfactory.

The person at the front desk was extremely pleasant and was very kind when I called ahead to see if our room would be available for early check in. She assured me there was one available. The woman that attended the breakfast room was helpful and kept things filled in a very timely manner. Loved that they had nice clean self serve laundry.

It was a great place, with wonderful staff. Front desk people where just absolutely wonderful. Apparently the building had gone through recent renovation and it looked very nice. Everything in the inside had been done, along with brand new mattresses. If you have to be in that crazy area, this is the place to stay.

The Best Western La Plata Inn is located on Crain Highway on the south side of town. It looks like a nice enough place when you drive up, which contributed to the surprising first impression I received. Upon being handed my room key, the pleasant and personable front desk clerk mentioned that the door lock was tricky, that I might have to try and retry a few times before it opens. As I walked through the hall toward my room I noticed walls and doors that needed touch-up paint along with the worn and outdated carpet. In addition to the temperamental lock, I found that you had to lower your shoulder and shove the door in order for it to open. I couldn't help but think, “Why would you rent a room that needed any kind of maintenance?” To make matters worse, when I got into bed and turned out the lights I realized that the toilet was running. I reported it the next morning and it was fixed by the time I returned that evening. The lock remained an issue throughout my four-night stay. The room itself (other than the initial plumbing issue) was fine, although it definitely could have used more electrical outlets (a common issue in older properties). It was clean and spacious, the air conditioning, appliances and complimentary wireless Internet were all in good working order, and the bed was comfortable. The satellite television would intermittently go out, but that was due more to the thunderstorms we experienced than the actual equipment. The main building is set back from the highway, so the place is quiet in the evening. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast area was well-maintained and featured (in addition to the usual “continental” fare) eggs, sausage/bacon, waffles and biscuits and gravy. I ultimately ended up having a decent stay, but since the ownership of this franchise clearly has not made maintenance beyond the bare minimum a top priority, I can't rate this property anything more than average.

The front desk were so nice and breakfast was great. Refrigerator and microwave are available. What I really like best here, customers are able to use computer and access a printer which is very important for me.

This hotel is well kept for an older building. Rooms have been upgraded. Air condition worked great! The beds were extremely comfortable and the wifi worked awesome. Didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked well kept and clean! If I have to stay in the area again I would definitely come back to best western LaPlata.

You really don't want my review as there is so little to say on a positive note. Sagging bed, dirty linens, dust created by a light repair was never removed, smoke odor apparent, etc. good rate but not worth it.

For business purposes, I use this hotel at least 10 times per month. The staff at the front desk or the most professional and courteous individuals I've had the pleasure to interact with. Very helpful from check-in/out with anything in between i.e. forgot my shaving cream or tooth paste. That level of customer care is pervasive throughout this hotel.

The staff was friendly room was big and the price was great. I had stayed at the Holiday inn Express for a few days before I got there and it was way better and s lot cheaper. The only thing was the clean up people didn't vacuum the room.

I recommend this as a fine, relaxing place to stay if you are passing through this rather out-of-the-way area of Maryland. The room was fine, the price a relative bargain, and the swimming pool clear of mess and noise.

There are a lot of shady places along this stretch of Route 301. This one is a good value and clean. Nothing fancy but the room was clean and the beds were good. I skipped the breakfast since it did not look good. Only issue was the connecting door did not lock properly. I got in late and decided to trust my neighbor would not open the door. I alerted desk the next morning.

Traveling south with my girls, I got stuck in DC traffic and decided to call it a day, looked at TA for local hotels with pools, and good reviews, BW la Planta came up, I called hotel directly and asked for a room, told there were plenty available, gave my name, phone #, stated I was in traffic but was 15 minutes away, she wanted my cc number, I reiterated I was 15 minutes away and in stop/go traffic, can't reserve room "wit no numba " ok. Hotel was moderately clean, room ok, pool was tiny but ok, " breakfast was uneatable.. egg things and pasty sausage, weak coffee, sour milk. Ok, check out.. drive home.. my daughter realized she left her ring on table, she had placed it over the push button rendering it almost invisible, called two days in a row, went thru the story 4 times.. no ring. Oh well my fault. But I doubt front desk even looked, each time giving the verdict within 1 minute. Far better hotels, for same price. Never again Best Western.

No sleep!!! U guys need to do better!! Not only did I loose out on sleep but I thought it was fireworks at first!! Then it sounded like explosions!! I was told breakfast ended at 10am, came at 9:15 and it was shut down!! Terrible!!

This motel is always clean. Employees are friendly and helpful. Pricing is reasonable. We have been staying here for years and never had a bad experience. Plenty of restaurants nearby for meals. Good free full breakfast.

The receptionist (Donay) checking us in was so friendly and kind. It just made all the difference when you're tired after traveling and find someone like this. Our room was super clean and the bathroom was stocked with a LOT of towels, which was loved. Great gym and pool are on site too. This hotel was $45 PER NIGHT, cheaper than any hotel in Waldorf - which is just 9 miles away. The town of LaPlata has everything you could possibly need so why stay somewhere more expensive? Not us - we'll be back to this hotel soon.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, an overall enjoyable experience. Close to walmart, target, and best buy. Good food was close and we enjoyed our stay during our conference. Even when there was problems with my flight that delayed my arrival, the hotel staff were very understanding and held my room until i could arrive.

We were very pleased with our choice of this hotel. The newly refurbished rooms were lovely - and we loved the beds and bedding. When we checked in, the fan in our room was excessively noisy, but the desk clerk came to see it (the refurbished rooms were so new, she hadn't even been in one yet) and immediately moved us to a nearby room. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and had all kinds of choices. Everything was just right - including the price.

we liked out room however i seem to think that the best western plus is much better. we stayed in the best western plus the night before and it seems quite superior to just the plain 1. i would however stay at again when in the area. we r also staying at another BW in Oct in Key West again.

They don't tell you when check in is and then check in other families before those that were there first. A/C broken and unable to be fixed correctly. Not to mention if there is a wedding party on an upper floor - it will keep you up all night!

The room and the bathroom are very clean, with everything you need: microwave, coffee maker with coffee, tea, decaf coffee bags etc. The room was quiet, the blinds are great, we have a good sleep. The hot breakfast is poor. The distance from Washinghton is about one hour driving with traffic. Very nice staff! Congratulations for the efforts!

The staff was welcoming, the room attractive, and the entire premises extremely neat and clean - including our room and the breakfast room. We also found the rate very competitive. And of course the lovely cookies are a special touch!

Mehta and his crew have done a terrific job of remodeling the hotel. A new elevator, new paint, furniture, fixtures, carpet.... they have really put a lot of investment back into making a good hotel even better. I've been staying there for three years now as business takes me all over. They constantly strive to provide a better customer experience and succeed.

Warm welcome from Missy on Friday. Cookies at the reception only on Friday. The hotel is undergoing renovation so some areas are dirty. The exercise room was dirty, the equipment dirty with dust and sweat all over. Not clean glasses, no towels and the room was cramped with equipment. Even under renovation it should have been cleaner. The breakfast was very basic and the breakfast area was clean. The mattress on the bed was not very good and we slept poorly.

This Hotel is always clean. The Staff is extremely pleasant and always remembers us whenever we arrive. The breakfast is good with a nice variety. The beds are a little too soft for us though. Instead of spending money on larger TV's, I would like them to spend money on firmer mattresses. We are glad that they have installed the elevator. .

Everything was fine except for the phone, room was clean, comfortable bed, quiet, nice breakfast selections, vending machine in 1st floor didn't carry sodas, that was a bomber. Otherwise the location is centrally location to restaurants, fast food locations along with pizza deliveries

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a slight problem checking in, but desk clerk was friendly and excellent in helping us to resolve the check-in problem we had. All was resolved and our whole group enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Stayed here "again" while traveling to Ct from Fl. They are remodeling, so pardon the mess. Our room was completed so we weren't affected. Our room was great. The staff is the best. As always, the Staff and property were excellent. Even though 1/2 of the Hotel were under total renovation, we were not affected one bit. In fact the hotel staff went out of their way to make it an enjoyable trip. The Maintenance man , Emory, was very professional and provided us with efficient assistance with electrical concerns for our Boats. Kudos to the entire staff. We will be back.

It's a nice hotel for people on a budget. Not fancy but it does the job. They offer a very nice breakfast with the room. All sorts of cereals, pastries, hot food (eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles). The coffee was excellent. The location for me was perfect. Only 2 miles from where I needed to be and not far from shopping, fast food, etc.

While this is an older hotel, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is good and the service is excellent. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to check in with you to ensure that you are well taken care of.

The room was very clean and neat. WiFi was very good, no problems at all in that aspect. Rooms were quiet and well lit. And, if you get hungry, there are plenty of restaurants and shopping down the road, to the right.

I'm a property manager at a large resort. We always try to hire people for attitude and then teach them what they need to know. I think the manager of this hotel has done the same thing. Each person I came into contact with was pleasant, efficient and so nice to deal with. My room was fresh and clean, everything worked and no sounds came from other rooms...very important for a light sleeper.

Arriving found not much parking space. Check in was flawless. Desk clerk was friendly. But going into the room found that I had no face cloths. But the room was very clean. Hotel offered wifi. My second and third nights were differ though. First night had bottled water, coffee both decaf and regular along with condiments. However, on the second and third nights they were not restocked.

To Whom It May Concern: I have made many reservations with this establishment for years now. There has never been a time when the hotel did not live up to it's expectations. This is considered a business establishment, so I understand that at this moment the hotel is going under renovations which is for the greater good of the business. I arrived at this Best Western after conducting a talk. I was surprised to find that the hotel was undergoing major renovations around and about the lobby area - the elevators were totally inoperable as they appeared to be under complete reconstruction. As I booked this through Hotwire I expect that there was no way for any such prospective guest to know, but even at that, I did not feel this hotel currently merits what was a 3 star rating. Most 3 stars hotels I have visited have featured a working restaurant at the very least, this one did not. All that said, my room was fine, comfortable and quiet, in spite of understanding that there was a wedding party also present. Additionally, the prospective renovations architecturally suggest that this Best Western will be quite attractive once the extensive work is finished. I would like to go again just to see that.

We made previous reservations having stayed at Best Western before. This particular hotel did not live up to our expectations especially with the AC which was substandard. The indoor pool was nice and the breakfast choices tasty and the area clean. Overall could have been much better if the air conditioning on this very hot day was better.

We ,a group of warriors came to say farewell to our KIA battle buddy in St Mary Maryland.The hotel was a little farther then thought but decided to stay because of the energy of the staff...The morning breakfast lady is an amazing "grandma "type and always had a smile and a "good Morning".The entire staff that we had contact with knew why were there and offered condolences and compassion.

There were a few maintenance problems with the room - non-working telephone reported (not taken care of), found no notice that I had to request sign in codes for the internet, room door needed maintenance (not reported-should have been evident to the cleaning staff). Some things were excellent (or better than "Very Good" and other things fell between "Very Good" and Average. Considering the fact that they were totally booked that night, it was a very good night.

Room was nice and clean. Air conditioner was nice and high when we walked in a nice relief from 90 degree heat. Breakfast was ample. My only complaint is the pool was greenish. Not very enticing. Would stay there again

Joined the BW rewards program online a day before for $10 off. Quick and easy checkin. The mini fridge had a freezer section as big as a small microwave which was exactly what I needed to freeze my water bottles. Comfortable bed (with memory foam), cable tv and WiFi worked well. Soft towels and hot water in the shower. Got a 1st floor room as requested during my reservation 24 hrs in advance. Good hot breakfast items were available..egg/cheese folds, sausage and hash browns. The elevator was under repair but I didn't need to use it.

My first contact with the hotel was by phone. The clerk went above and beyond to answer my questions and assist me with making my arrangements. I was able to check in quickly upon arrival. There are renovations of some kind in progress on the bottom floor. Twenty minutes into my stay, a kid started runny and yelling in the hall near my room. I asked to be moved. They handled it like pros. Not only did they move me with a smile on their faces but one of the clerks physically helped by carrying my things upstairs. There is no elevator to the second floor but I found that my room on the second floor looked better than the one on the lower level. Room was basically clean but there was a few problems. The bathroom mirror had not been wiped clean. The fridge was not clean either. The linens were fresh and that matters to me more than anything. Overall it was a pleasant visit. Nothing fancy but I did have a quiet night to rest.

The place is a bit old but really as clean and friendly as can be. They serve an excellent free breakfast. It is much better than more expensive places. By the way, the shower was great. Will definitely stay again. Also it is located right on the main drag near restaurants and more.

I've stayed at a few Best Westerns and I gotta say this one gives off a fancy warming feeling. The comfy chairs in the lobby, the full breakfast in the mornings, the cookies in the evening and the staff. I think the girls name is Kell or Kelly but she is so sweet and makes this place feel like a five star hotel, always smiling and quick to help. I will be stay here each time I pass through the 301.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the last 5 years or so. It always feels like our home away from home. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are always clean. The breakfast is always plentiful and delicious, and the most recent time we stayed a few weeks ago, they even added a few extras! The cookies in the evening are the perfect end to the day. If you are looking for a reasonable priced, nice place to stay away from home, this is the place!

Every year our family has a reunion in Charles County, MD, and we have stayed at the Best Western, LaPlata many times before. We have always been very satisfied at this hotel. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great rates. We usually book for the week after the 4th of July, weather is hot, the Wicomico River is welcoming. No complaints!!

This trip we stayed in a suite. It was pretty spacious having two rooms, two beds and a pullout sofa. The bathroom had two doors for entry from either room. It also had a small kitchen area and two ac units. My only negative about this room is the furniture could stand to be reupholstered or replaced. I couldn't see anyone sleeping on the pullout. Other than that it was another great stay at this property. As with my previous reviews they have parking for boats and outside plugins for power. The staff are always very pleasant and very easy to work with and housekeeping had everything looking new after our return from the river.

Staff could not do enough for us and our 3 kids. Room was huge and had plenty of room for all of us. Pool was small but fun and refreshing. Breakfast had lots of options and was good. Checkin and out was quick and seamless.

We had a wonderful time. The cost was affordable and fit our vacation budget. The pool could have used a better cleaning. it had a bit of hair and what not floating in it, but it wasn't that bad. Over all we would stay here again if we were ever in the area.

We stayed here last year & returned again this year for a fishing tournament. The rooms are clean & Comfortable. The pool & Patio are very enjoyable. & there was plenty of parking & Power for the boat & trailer. Free Breakfast was pretty good & the staff was exceptionally pleasant. We will be back.

The attendant was very pleasant at check-in, greeting you with a smile (and offer of cookies or fresh friut at desk was a plus)! The hot breakfast was surprisingly good with not only waffles but sausage gravy and biscuits! The bathroom was a disappointment-not as updated as I've been in other hotels in this chain. Mattress was a bit lumpy :-(

My stay at this hotel was ok, nothing outstanding. It was an average stay. If your looking for a decent place to stay and rest this is the place for it. One thing I didn't like is I could here people talking also when one of the room doors closed our door would shake as if we were in a wind tunnel.

Staff was awesome! Extremely helpful and helped us carry belongings upstairs when elevator was out. Having to write 200 characters on here though is a pain in the butt. And this is STILL not enough. I am NOT interested in writing a novel.

Used for fishing trip. Nearby Potomac river.. Parking was adiquate for bass boat. Power for charging batteries was on timer at parking light poles. Quick in and out acess onto us route 301. Many nearby places to eat and shop.

Stayed for a night on a road trip. Staff lovely. Received a little gift bag with water, peanuts, and chips upon check in. Bottled water provided in rooms. Location good near restaurants. Room well done with nice decor. I didn't eat breakfast but it smelled good. There is some construction going on right now but it was not bothersome except that two handicap parking places were blocked. I was traveling with a family member who had mobility problems so that was a bit of a concern. Overall very nice and recommended.

The rooms are large and luxurious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good with a selection of fresh fruit. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It's the first Best Western hotel I've stayed in and I'm so impressed I'm going to consider staying at others.

I like the little spot it was quite and friendly, it was right across from the police department, I was close to places to eat and had more than enough place to park. I could do this location again if the prices was different for me.

Excellent front desk staff member Melanie checked us in. She was efficient, friendly and helpful; also patient with me when I had to call the front desk because I couldn't figure out how to turn on the shower. 5 out of 5 for her!! Rooms-another story. Both had cleanliness issues-one with a bag of garbage still left in the room; the other was not vacuumed well as there was a spill of seeds crumbs or something covering the carpet between the beds. Upon checkout Sunday 4 25 at noon, I reported both these issues and also that a fluorescent bulb in one bathroom needed replacing. No comment or apology was made. Love the area and this is very convenient for where we visit! It is on a small highway but near a less busy part of it, still close to all kinds of shopping and restaurants along the road. We would find it difficult to repeat our stay though, because of the cleanliness issues and non response to my notifying about them.

We stayed two nights while visiting friends. While a older establishment, everything is updated, clean and quiet. Breakfast was more than acceptable with eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, biscuits and gravey, fruit and a interesting coffee machine. The coffee is made to order from ground beans. Best coffee we have ever had in a motel. The price in mid April was wonderfully low. Would recommend

Exactly like I say in the title. I won't stay anywhere else. As a regional rep I travel 3-4 days every week. When I'm in La Plata I only stay at the Best Western. Mehta and his team here are on top of it. The rooms are always clean, smell fresh and the beds are comfortable. The location is convenient to everything. Shopping and restaurants are close by in either direction. The building sits back off the road far enough that traffic isn't a noise concern. The property kept up and clean. Breakfast is usual fare. I'll stay here ever time without fail.

I work about 15 miles away and have stayed at various places in La Plata as well as Fredricksburg Md. Best Western La Plata is my go to. Price is reasonable, rooms are just fine, and the ladies at the front desk are always super nice and helpful. I left my phone charger one time and of course was not feeling to positive about my chances of seeing it again, but I called in and the staff jumped on it for me and had it waiting for me at the front my next time by. Pharrah and Cassandra run the show at night and in the morning respectively, and they always make me feel right at home - thank you ladies! )

the hotel was average in every way. it was near plenty of food options for breakfast lunch and dinner. i had a hard time getting the room to get cool enough to sleep even after going to dinner for an hour and a half and leaving the air conditioning on full blast in the early spring time. the pillows were aweful and i couldnt sleep due to these two things!

Been staying here every time that I am working in this area. The staff is so nice ,never have any trouble checking in or out. Room is always clean. Location is great everything that you would want when you are out of town working.

The employees at this Best Western are accommodating over-and-above! We were on a business trip last weekend and needed to leave the hotel at 5:30 am for work. They put out a complete breakfast for us at 5 am!!!! On Saturday! The hotel is nicely appointed, rooms are clean, lobby is spacious and inviting. & The breakfast can't be beat. Great at the regularly scheduled times, and amazing at 5 am! Many, many thanks to them for making our stay as comfortable as possible.

Very comfortable, would stay there anytime. Small town but great place. Stayed there with a family of 5. Spacious well organized and distributed room. At a very reasonable price. Had a microwave and sink. Only one bathroom in the suite though. But great place overall.

In need of some deep cleaning and deodorizing on the carpets, along with the door locks and saftey bars being replaced or secured better. The beds were very comfortable (for my taste) and the bathroom was clean.

This has been a great hotel for us. This is our second time staying here, and we will stay again. Hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a good choice and internet works great. Only thing I wish they had were different tv channels.

When i arrived some teens were playing boxing in the drive way. I windered if i should move on but i was tired. Alicia welcomed me and made any worries I had disappear. The room was comfortable clean and well appointed. The night was quiet. The bed was comfortable. The large flat screen TV was easy to use. They offered breakfast till 09am which is too early for me. Worth staying at while in La Plata.

We have stayed here many times in the last 15 years when we visit family in Southern Maryland. It is always clean; super friendly employees and good breakfast. Since we are Gluten Intolerant we cannot eat what the "carb only" items that a lot of motels have so we are always pleased to have a great start to our day. We stay here so much we were upgraded to a Suite, which I loved. Just wish I could have enjoyed it longer!

We have stayed at a number of Hampton Inns recently and this was out first stay at Best Western and it was far and above what we had in the past places. Only need is a walk in shower rather than a tub in a handicapped room.

The room and bath were both clean, the bed soft as a cotton ball. I could see that the room had some resent remodeling done for the better. This hotel is close to a lot of shopping and places to eat, located on the main highway but not a lot of road noise. I will continue to stay at this hotel when I am in southern Maryland, also the price is fare.

Hotel was certainly adequate for a 2 night stay. Breakfast was really good with a ton of choices, both hot and cold. Room was clean and bed was nice. Shower head was in need of a an upgrade, but was okay for 2 days. WiFi was good and TV was adequate. Had a decent recliner/ottoman and the desk was sufficient.

Clean, convenient with a friendly staff. Bit of a mix up with whether they were "let friendly" or not, they apparently are with an additional charge. Manager straightened the situation out quickly. Breakfast was good, within the range you'd expect at a moderate priced hotel. Sort of what you hope to expect.

If you don't have to stay in Dahlgren, recommend staying here - 17 mile drive, but worth it. Hotel is in a good location and is nice stay. Nothing too fancy, price is right. Service and staff excellent.

Overall our stay was average. The customer service could have been more pleasant from the front desk staff to the eating area attendant. Our housekeeper was nice. The entire reason I gave three instead of five stars is because the room was not cleaned thoroughly. There was hair (not mine) in the shower area. Stains of all colors on the sheets and towels. The toilet had a rim of grim in it as well. The bed, while squeaky, was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was satisfying. They offer a waffle station and a variety of hot and cold foods. They do not have an elevator, so if you are on the second floor (only 2 floors) be prepared to lug your luggage up the stairs.

Booked the hotel for my husband who was traveling in the area. Should have read reviews before I made that mistake. When I called to make certain he was there and checked in I was immediately put on hold by the front desk for five minutes. When the front desk person came back to the phone I was informed that they could not tell me if he was there because their system was down. Would hate to have had an emergency that needed to be addressed. Her response was "well you could call make in fifteen minutes, I cannot do "nothing" to help you right now. Last time we will use this hotel and maybe even the entire chain.

I stayed here for 3 weeks while working in the area. The manager Yagnesh, went out of his way to speak to me and make me feel welcome. Phara, the night clerk, was amazing. We talked a little while I was checking in and she placed me in the perfect room. Quick direct exit to my car on the first floor by the conference room. I went back and asked if I could reserve it for the entire 3 weeks! Phara and I connected quickly, and she went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and safe. I highly recommend this hotel.

I use U.S. 301 to skirt the mess of D.C. and its perennial construction on I-95. There's not a ton of Best Western properties on this route but just when I reached the limit of my driving fatigue this one appeared. There was one room left (apparently there was a sporting event in town) and Kendra checked me into it with every evidence that she was delighted I stopped by. The room had every amenity I expected, comfortable beds, hot shower, and quick internet. Checkout was easy and quick and they have an outstanding 24-hour coffee bar that I utilized with gratitude on my way out. I like this hotel - I'll stay here again.

I stayed at the LaPlata Best Western about a dozen nights this year for business. Rooms have been consistently in very good shape and staff very friendly at an under $100/night price point. TV service wasn't quite at the level I am used to from home, but otherwise was just fine.
