200 wasn't mentioned when making reservations only when we arrived and was paying for the hotel room. Seems like that should have been told to the customer or stated somewhere on the reservations. The reservation couldn't be cancelled or you would penalized. It's made that you have to pay the 200 deposit

"Great stay with no major complaints"
Lauren D, 09 Août 2024

Not sure why there is negative reviews, as we just had a wonderful experience there over the course of an entire weeks stay. Our original plans for our vacation fell through at the last minute and we opted to head to DC area on a lark instead, and landed on staying here for proximity to the city (never took more than 20 mins to drive in), and the fact that there was a pool and free parking. we were originally here for five nights then added another night on for the sixth when tropical storm Debby upended our other new vacation plans. My biggest things for hotels are honestly cleanliness and safety. and this hotel delivers on both of those-both our rooms were sparkling queen and were serviced every day of the stay-and not just with fresh towels and garbage removed like most hotels do if they even do that every day anymore. Like housekeeping staff came in and thoroughly remade your room and cleaned it like you were checking in as a new guest every day. Breakfast was good each morning, the hot food changed a little bit each day-was always scrambled eggs, potatoes and either sausage or bacon, but one morning the eggs were mixed with peppers and onions, and potatoes were changed up too with mix ins as well. overall nothing to complain about, I started to get tired of the offerings after a while but only because I stayed so long, not because it wasn't a good. pool was great, and had a lifeguard who admittedly the first time it put me off when we were in the pool alone and he was more like security to determine who should be there, but the other times we went in he def recognized faces so it was a little less awkward. I thunk that was more me though bc I can't recall the last time o went to a hotel outside of a resort where there was a lifeguard at a pool, so it might have just thrown me off. only other thing I would say is I stayed in the even side rooms both times which do not face the highway-I cannot say if the rooms on that side are as quiet. I do know the rooms I stayed in were, which I appreciated since we had our one year old with us and getting a one year old to sleep can be a challenge sometimes 😂 make sure when booking you know that there is an up charge on rooms to have a microwave. we didn't know that with our original booking and sorely missed it the bulk of our stay. We upgraded to the room with the microwave for our final night and it was much nicer having it. Honestly that might be my only critique from personal experience. I recommend this hotel if coming to the area and you don't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of DC or want that free parking and pool. you really can't go wrong and also the price was great when we stayed so it's def worth looking at!

"One-Night Stopover on Road Trip"
michael3512, 22 Juillet 2024

I've stayed here twice for one-night stopovers on road trips down to Florida. This is a very standard, yet nice, Best Western property. The lobby and breakfast areas are renovated, though the hallways and rooms are dated (my only small complaint about the hotel). Breakfast was excellent with a spacious and comfortable seating area. The room was quite clean! Water pressure is excellent and AC worked well, too. Very quiet. Sparking clean pool as well. Hotel is in close proximity to the highway, multiple dining options, and Washington DC.

"DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !!!"
305alvinb, 20 Juin 2024

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! I had booked and paid for 3 nights via booking .com and the morning of the first.day I received a call of a family member having a heart attack and had to leave and drove back to NC ASAP, I was told I would be getting a refund for the last 2 nights,.but after contacting the hotel for 2 days I was told they changed their mind about refunding my money..DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !! management sucks and desk staff refused to give me the Manager name, so that leaves me no other avenues but to take legal actions, ridiculous!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !!!!

"Quality hotel with excellent breakfast"
nalcha2024, 03 Juin 2024

This is a clean and updated hotel with loads of parking, a clean pool with lifeguard, good rooms, and excellent breakfast.

"Great value"
martin w, 12 Mai 2024

Close to interstate, good area, room was clean and staff was nice. Breakfast was good. Free parking is a plus no extra fee's. Room price + tax

"Great hotel"
Jason W, 24 Avril 2024

I've stayed here 15 times over the past 18 months. The staff is always nice and friendly. My room is clean and quiet.

"Great location for DC area stay"
Christine_3073, 11 Avril 2024

I have stayed at this hotel several times over many years and have always been pleased with my experience. The hotel is conveniently located near the highways and close to the DC Metro stop. It's has always been clean and I can't remember a time when I have been disappointed with the service. The price for our stay was reasonable considering the prices that are being charged at other area hotels.

"The best for the price!"
aolling, 22 Mars 2024

Great location with a fair price. Completely surrounded by busy highways yet minimal noise. A great breakfast is served at 7......with bacon! Overall, a clean room, wonderful shower, professional desk clerk. Can't go wrong staying here.,

"Good hotel with a fair rate"
edwinl228, 11 Février 2024

This is one of the best BW hotel that I stayed at so far and I love the location nd easy access to freeways to all directions also. The only minor issue I have is this is a cashless property so if you need change you might need to go across the street to the Marriott Courtyard to get change.

"Revisiting a property previously visited."
Peter L, 11 Janvier 2024

The BW - Springfield, VA has been recently renovated - all rooms and all common areas. I stayed here in January 2023 and experienced my stay during the renovation process. While there were several displaced points of service; guest registration and complimentary breakfast, the first visit was comfortable and pleasant. My most recent visit, January 2024, has been stellar! The whole property renovations are complete and they are well planned and executed. I energetically encourage you to consider staying at this BW any time you are in this area because of the customer focused associate team, convenient location and the attention to property condition and care. For sure BW - Springfield, VA is a BW exemplary property!

"Bizarre place"
beaconoutbound16, 18 Décembre 2023

Upon arriving there was nobody at the front desk but rather a sign pointed towards a kiosk. The kiosk entailed speaking remotely via a webcam to someone located in a remote location (presumptively abroad) who completed the checkin process. The checkin process took a very long time for no reason whatsoever via this kiosk. Horribly loud modern music playing outside and in the lobby. The corridor of our floor smelt very bad, like something was rotting. Room was OK overall however it had some anomalies. Walls were visibly dusty, the bathroom was dingy and the AC's thermostat was inaccurate (had to set it to 62F in order to cool the room down to 70F). The pool and outdoor areas were closed off, which should have been mentioned at the time of booking. We then noticed the slip printed out for us by the kiosk stated checkout time was 11am, and not noon as per the booking confirmation. Went down to reception, and thankfully found an actual person at the desk. The staff member then proceeded to lecture us that any checkout extension greater than 30 minutes would make us liable to be charged “half the nightly rate”. Very unfriendly compared to other Best Western hotels, especially considering I'm a Best Western Rewards member with Gold status.

"Consistently Good!"
dgray1979, 14 Novembre 2023

I've stayed at the Springfield Best Western Hotel many times and they have always met or exceeded my expectations. Great overall value with recent renovations in their guest rooms, dining and reception areas. The hotel is located in the heart of Springfield and is within walking distance to the mall.

"New Lobby"
watercop, 21 Octobre 2023

The new lobby and breakfast area are a great improvement. This is our third stay here and will not be our last. With a bus stop almost at the front door getting anywhere is no problem. I am not sure about the TV Desk Clerk.

"great motel"
leroym984, 26 Septembre 2023

breakfast was great, clean rooms. Staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast area was clean and well maintained. Everything in the room worked as it should have. First room smelled smokey, they immediately changed our room. no hassle.

"Good breakfast"
Doug C, 24 Septembre 2023

The room needs to have a professional painters come in and repaint the rooms. The beds were hard and noisy. The breakfast was good even had a yogurt machine. The price of the room was good for what you got

"Stay in Best Western"
joannerennoll, 17 Septembre 2023

My room was very comfortable! There is a newly done Breakfast area that is clean, with varity of choices to eat. Coffee is great! The lobby part of newly configured check in area. Spacious..looks open and welcoming. There is a great team of people working there. They are pleasant , helpful, friendly . great team. Helpful, pleasant. Definitely recommend

"Springfield VA"
tarakoloszar, 16 Septembre 2023

We had a great stay. Friendly staff. Clean room. Nice shower. Free breakfast. No complaints. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. Fast check in and fast check out. Thank you best Western!

"Average experience."
rivlan14, 10 Juin 2023

It was fine enough for the cost for a short stay. You can tell it had been updated some (laminate floors, not carpeting), but it was not as clean as I would like and average amenities. Overall just acceptable

"Decent value "
JeffinNJ, 04 Mai 2023

While overall a mixed bag, this place gives you quite a bit for your money just a few miles south of DC. They're re- doing the lobby, so it's hard to find the front desk and the breakfast is served in the basement. Our adjoining rooms were both missing hair dryers. Our sink has no hot water until we turned on the shower. The latter was the best part of this day, an invigorating spray that made me long for the same at home. There's no water shortage but everywhere you go they skimp on shower water. Not here. The room was quiet and reasonably comfortable, especially for the price. And the breakfast spread was plenty enough.

"Overnight before AMTRAK AutoTrain travel"
Peter L, 28 Avril 2023

This property (late April 2023) is well on the way through a stem to stern update. Rooms, common areas, Registration and meeting spaces and being improved and updated. The changes are very positive! The room is quiet, bed comfortable and the bath areas are very nice. The complimentary breakfast area is spacious and the breakfast offering is varied and generous.

"Glad I choose this hotel"
br0wnkelly, 27 Avril 2023

I was very surprised about the hotel. The space of the room, the breakfast was hot, the staff was quick to respond. Hats off to the front desk lady who assisted me with check in (sorry hun, I forgot your name), love love your service and assistance.

"Disgusting rooms!"
elizaldeN213, 25 Avril 2023

The rooms are disgusting. We got switched to another room and it wasn't any cleaner. The lobby and hallways are disgusting. This is place is way to expensive for the quality. I typically love Best Western hotels. I never had any issues until we stayed here. This hotel does not represent the chain at all for the quality.

"Great price with all the basics"
Markonbusiness, 03 Février 2023

The price was perfect for the location. They are still renovating so I wasn't expecting the ritz. The rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi worked. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast was the icing on the top for me. Eggs, bacon, waffles, cereals, and even pop tarts. Parking lot is rather rough and falling apart. I hope they address this.

"Good overnight stay hotel"
Linda H, 05 Janvier 2023

I stay here on my way south because it's just off the 95. It's also close to a small mall. It's clean and although the hotel is in the process of renovating, my room was very nice and clean. It has hardwood floors which I REALLY like.

"Very Disappointing Best Western"
jbsoccer9, 28 Octobre 2022

I've had great experiences with Best Western in the past but this was bad. Our water turned off, there were no toiletries, and that's just the beginning. We might've been more forgiving if there had been a warning when we booked the room that there was construction happening on the hotel, but we didn't find out until we'd arrived and it was too late.

"Bait and switch on room!"
ReshapingRebecca, 24 Octobre 2022

I am super disappointed with this location. The whole check in situation was very strange and uncomfortable. The lady was not friendly at all! We arrived at 2:30 for check in but she refused to check us in until 3pm on the dot. We reserved and paid extra for an “executive” room with pillow top mattresses, we did not receive this type of room. Beds were shaped like a soup bowl, hardly pillow top. The shower gel, shampoo & conditioner were falling off the wall in the shower. The breakfast is the worst one I've had at a best western location. Waffles were empty. Food was not maintained. Not grab & go options. No fresh fruit, toast or bagels. Thank goodness it was only a one night stay. This place has a lot of potential based on its location. Sad that it was not the typical service & accommodations we are used to with Best Western.

"Unpleasant Stay"
Donna N, 21 Octobre 2022

Have stayed at this hotel in the past because of location. Last visit cost me $500 extra on my auto insurance deductible after my truck was damaged in their parking lot by a hit and run driver or staff member. This visit is supposed to be under new management. Poor communication, staff that likes to grandstand in drama with an audience instead of doing their own job with things as simple as supplying a key card that actually works to open the doors. TV stopped working numerous times- turns out the plug their TVs into switched outlets- outlet and cover cracked and so loose the cords just keep falling out of the socket. Who puts a TV on a switched outlet???besides Best Western Springfield, VA??? Very unpleasant stay and will be the last time I ever stay here. They do offer an iron for their amenities- whoop- T-Do!

"Overnight stay"
bluebritusa, 09 Août 2022

Hotel under renovation. Pool hours 12pm-8pm meant family couldn't use during stay. No business center/computer/printer available at property. No fridge in the room. Had to ask for toilet paper as none in room. Until renovation finished I wouldn't even think about staying here.

"Average room. Outside pool, mediocre breakfast"
danbasham, 20 Juillet 2022

Room was standard. Nothing special. Stayed on 5 th floor. Hotel was under construction. Shower was hot and good pressure. Direct tv helped. This is not our first visits here. Last time was great. Came back mainly for buffet breakfast. This area lacks. Nasty eggs, bacon was good. Home fries. Cereal cups, milk, toast, bagels, waffles. Hours run from 7-9. No one restocks. Not pleased with breakfast. Have 2 teenagers, prob won't be back.

"Finish the renovation work!"
Jim L, 04 Juillet 2022

This is my go to place to stay in the area. I was there a year ago and the renovation work was started. Now, a full year later, the renovation work is still ongoing. Unsatisfactory! It is annoying to return to a favorite place and still be faced with unfinished work.

"Loved the hot breakfast. Extremely happy with our stay."
Diwakar7, 13 Juin 2022

We stayed for 2 nights for the first time at Best Western. This is a no non-sense, value for money hotel. Hot breakfast is wonderful and service staff were always there to help. Manager Michael Hess is cordial, & ensured we are comfortable during our stay. Love to stay again at this hotel.

"Extremely helpful staff."
francesami, 27 Mai 2022

The staff was wonderful. We were trapped by a thunderstorm and the night clerk helped us cancel the reservations we couldn't reach and make new ones where we were. She even helped us find a discount. The morning clerk found a shirt I'd left behind (a favorite) and mailed it to me right away. Everyone was pleasant and efficient.

"Eh, it's okay"
ChristinaO656, 13 Mai 2022

I'm not sure I would stay here again. This was my first time staying and honestly, I wasn't impressed. My nephew and I stayed for 4 nights. The first room we were given looked (and felt) like a prison cell. It was tiny and dark and sort of grungy. But it was late, we were tired and I didn't feel it was bad enough to complain. Plus we would be out and about pretty much all day, so we wouldn't be in the room very much. However, after coming back to the room on day 2, I went to the bathroom and out crawls a large roach. Now to their credit, the front desk employees were wonderful and were able to move me immediately to a better room down the hall. I've stayed at several hotels in this area and honestly, this would not be my go-to unless everywhere else was booked up. The staff I encountered from front desk to housekeeping were amazing. The facilities need some work though.

"Good Price. I guess you get what you pay for."
rickkH7143VF, 07 Mai 2022

I was very disappointed in my stay. In fact, I checked out a day early & found other arrangements although I already paid for that night of lodging. I hope this experience is an anomaly in the BW hotel chain.

"Best Western customer for life"
MsKaren301, 22 Avril 2022

Always a pleasure to stay at this Best Western hotel. The location is great for our business needs. We have a nice quiet night when coming in the evening. Checking in and out was a breeze. The staff is great very informative and helpful.

"Rundown Place, Not Recommended !"
SuzieCW, 07 Avril 2022

Nothing much to say about this place except that is in a very poor condition, not satisfactory, dirty and disgusting. Rundown hotel from all angels. Even the front desk at the time of my check-in was in one of the rooms, might be due to some work. Too expensive what it is !! Horrible experience and DO NOT recommend to anyone. Stay elsewhere if must be in the area.

"Virginia visit"
LSV672, 23 Décembre 2021

Even though the hotel is under construction the check in and rooms were very clean. The new location of the breakfast was clean and had excellent choices (both hot and cold). All the staff were efficient and kind.

"Rough on the outside, but nice on the inside"
himeldagu404, 11 Décembre 2021

The property is under renovation and isn't that great to look at from the outside. We had a little bit of a hard time finding the hotel. But once we did, we were very happy we did. The room was clean, the beds were nice, the breakfast was good, and the staff was outstanding. The price we paid was so much better than the other hotels in the area. They seem to be trying their hardest to make their hotel better. I can't wait to come back to see the completed renovation.

"Dissatisfied"
V4620YDsandyp, 15 Novembre 2021

Stayed at several hotels in the area and this one was the worst by far. I like the area because of the mall and the quiet feel of the suburbs so stayed around Springfield after doing D.C. and Alexandria. Stayed at the Holiday Inn and the Towneplace Suites... and this Best Western. Read the reviews ahead of time and decided to trust the mostly positive ones. Big mistake. The staff is extremely unfriendly to downright rude, they don't want to work- okay so then go somewhere else that isn't a reason to be unwelcoming and mumbling and bitter towards guests. Not very customer service friendly which is the opposite of what a hotel should be. The room was not clean and was very dusty and the bed was uncomfortable. Was very happy that it was only a one night stay. Also, the neighbors were either very loud or it's just that the walls are very thin and not very well soundproofed. There are much better choices in the area than this place, go to one of those places.

"Great location, excellent service"
marvin137, 24 Septembre 2021

I have tried others BW hotels and was my first time on this. But wherever I go, USA or CANADA, you will experience the same excellence, cleanliness and superb service. The BW Springfield staff was awesome providing excellent customer service and even with all security measures they provided all services and amenities included as always.

"I highly suggest that you do not stay here"
JayZee80, 27 Août 2021

The hotel is under construction and the pool is closed and those are the best things going for this hotel. The lady doing the check ins ranges from lackluster to passive aggressive. Room itself is worn and tired. The real issue is after you check out you will get charges on your credit card for "damage" that you never did. When you call the hotel to inquire you will be told that they have to provide no proof or documentation and that this is all agreed to upon check in. You will be charged whatever price they unilaterally and subjectively determine their furniture is worth. The furniture is so dilapidated and tired that I would put an estimate the entire room's furniture market value at $12. As someone who stays 200+ nights a year at hotels and has never experienced this my only suggestion is don't stay here. I initiated my dispute with Amex and am waiting to hear back. If you are stuck here then you better video and photograph everything and timestamp it and then have multiple witnesses and notaries verify, unless you want to be held at the mercy of this hotel miraculously discovering damage days after you leave.

"Clean and adequate. Excellent for the price."
gerryapoian, 09 Août 2021

The location is undergoing renovation, and the pool was closed. If not for that, 5/5. Staff were friendly and polite. Price was very low for the area, yet the amenities were very clean and in excellent condition.

"Surprise from Best Western"
yiptong1714, 25 Mai 2021

I usually stayed in Best Western, they are very good value hotel but not this location. Gym is closed without any notice on website, it said modified bfast but actually it is a grab & go, hotel should let us know the updated situation. No maid come to clean room or replace new towel, very disappointed.

"Older facility but good"
610vicc, 12 Mai 2021

We stayed there as did friends of ours. We had rooms that were next door to each other and the room was big enough for us to get together and visit. They were undergoing some repairs or remodeling so that was a negative but I know those things need to be done. All in all it was a good place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

"Excellent stay!"
Joy1234_1, 09 Mai 2021

I had en excellent 4 night stay. The renovations are looking wonderful! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. My room was clean and they left me two towels, extra boxes of Kleenex and toilet paper for my stay which was an awesome idea for covid times. Lay and the staff were amazing and I will definitely be back!

"Needing retraining"
hartzhartzell, 08 Avril 2021

Night staff needs retraining, and willingness to better serve guest. They should not have their cell phones out or use them when guests come in. COVID19 may be an excuse, but no reason for poor service, food. And care of guests.

"A great stay"
carlar0bins0n, 01 Décembre 2020

Best Western overall is a nice place to stay. Staff is exceptional. It is always clean and up to date. It was up the street from the mall. A lot of places to choose from for dinner options. It is close to the metro.

"Clean, comfortable, friendly staff"
Robin B, 18 Mars 2020

Our room was clean, comfortable and well stocked each day. This is an older hotel, so the rooms are not "posh", but perfectly functional and we experienced no problems in the 8 days we stayed here. The beds were very comfortable. I would normally be in pain after 8 days in a hotel bed, but I slept very well and very comfortably every night. The breakfast offered a good variety and plenty of seating. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and especially pleased to be paying half of what the hotel across the street charges.

"Great bang for your buck."
sonya7396, 10 Mars 2020

Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were very quiet and clean. Check in was super easy and the room was a great price. Perfect for a quick stop to refresh during a working weekend. Would stay again!

"Very Nice Hotel!"
Mobile32787722152, 06 Mars 2020

Very nice hotel in a very convenient easy access location. Plenty of food and shopping nearby. Staff were all very nice from check in to check out. Clean room and comfortable bed. Excellent hot and cold breakfast included. Fitness center and internet included. Will stay here again for sure! Thank you Best Western for a very pleasant stay!

"Decent budget hotel"
KC_in_NY, 14 Février 2020

Stayed a number of times and found this the most cost-effective place to stay long-term. While the overall place is dated, they've renovated the rooms so it's not as dreary. Found each room might be missing something or configured funny. The most fun was trying to figure out the shower settings to get hot water or trying to get soap. They have a workout room, but it's basically a treadmill and one machine that's missing the attachments. Based on this, I would have given it two stars. I do have to say the breakfast options are pretty good here. I like the cappuccino and yogurt machine. Found most of the staff pretty friendly too.

"One of my best stays"
haroldineb, 05 Février 2020

Was there for Navy Business and enjoyed my stay with you very much. If I have to be in the area again don't mind staying there. The event did take place in DC, however, when I first got the invite thought it was in Richmond, VA.

"very good"
zorbamahatirou, 09 Janvier 2020

nice refuge brave staff and goodservices,i recommend it to everybody realy in perfect location, easy for all kind of transportation, and exits to different hways. quiet and safe location and parking lot

"Best stay at Best Western"
kikisidspire96, 16 Décembre 2019

I recommend Best Western. The rooms were comfortable with well stocked amenities with crisp clean linens, soft absorbent towels and cloths . The floors were covered in "wood" tiles which gave the room a feel of cleanliness opposed to carpet. Waking up to a breakfast that resembled a cooked meal at home (eggs, bacon, waffles,pancakes...) was the perfect start to my families morning. The breakfast was hot and fresh and we were able to take a plate up to the room for my husband who had slept in after a long travel which in return kick started his morning. The coffee/Espresso/beverage station that was available 24/7 made us feel very welcome. Thank You so much for the great experience with your location at BW! The Siddons/Spire family

"Good value/easy access to DC"
Barry B, 09 Décembre 2019

Nice room in a good location off 95/495. Quiet and clean room at a reasonable price. Good hot and/or cold breakfast with lots of choices including pancakes and waffles. Not far from Springfield Mall and Metro.

"Very pleasant satay"
Thomas S, 02 Décembre 2019

This is an older but well kept up and clean and quiet hotel. Some of the hotel's strengths are the wide breakfast menu, the water pressure in the shower and the ability to regulate the room temperature well.

"Good bed but smelled like mold"
aaronrobison13, 03 Novembre 2019

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The first time was great, but this time.... I was less than thrilled. I stayed in a more expensive option and got a worse room that smelled like mold and mildew even after someone came up and fixed the problem for a few hours. Followed by the fact that the room always felt like it was wet and humid in the room almost like the air conditioner wasn't working right either. Which again was supposed to be fixed.

"Great value. Decent enough location."
PresLibraryFamily, 01 Novembre 2019

About a 5 minute drive to the Franconia-Springfield metro stop (which has a huge garage and is free to park at on weekend), this hotel is a good value for visiting DC as long as you have a car. It is also near a mall. There is really nothing walking distance from this hotel. I felt perfectly safe. Staff were pleasant and the free breakfast was great. If you are not familiar with DC or don't get there much then maybe this isn't ideal. However, if you can deal with the 1/2 hour metro ride to get to the heart of DC, this is a clean, safe good value hotel.

"Not bad"
Edward1976, 23 Octobre 2019

This is average, the staff at checkin was very friendly and professional. There was a strong deodorizer in my room. I guess it's better then smelling bad? Plenty of parking. The shower was hot and had great water pressure!

"I was pleasantly surprised"
Vega2003, 20 Octobre 2019

The room and bathroom was surprisingly tidy and clean. While there was a strong air freshener smell when you first walk into the room, it isn't overpowering and I found after 10-20 minutes I didn't notice it. Wifi was FANTASTIC. It was nice to have a large selection of tv stations. Bed was comfortable, pillows were sad. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. There was a fair amount of noise from other room doors closing, and highway but it didn't affect my sleep. Breakfast was fantastic. Yogurt machine with multiple toppings, mixed fruit, waffle makers, bacon, eggs, potatoes, etc. Overall, I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

"Good Stay"
patelgan, 14 Octobre 2019

Had a good, clean room, at a fair price, with no problems. Breakfast was very good, with lots to eat, lots of bacon and sausage and eggs and waffles and pancakes and the side items like oatmea and ceral and sweet rolls and toasted bread. Hotel was in a good location, not far from Washington, and close to the Washington Subway.

"This could have been a disaster, but it wasn't at all."
watercop, 08 Octobre 2019

Mr. Khan turned what could have been a major problem into just a slight annoyance. We had to change rooms due to a problem with the toilet. He went out of his way to help us move from one room to another and offered to help move us again. I told him about being disappointed about the fact that there was no shuttle, which is what I liked best about this location the last time we stayed here. It appears this unit is going through a change. Maybe when things get straight they will have that service again.

"I will NEVER stay here again"
firewireg, 07 Octobre 2019

We had to leave a $50.00 security deposit in order to stay there. Room was overly perfumed. After the fire alarm went off and the fire department came and left no one told us that it was safe to go back to our room.

"Fantastic Staff"
philmaggie, 25 Septembre 2019

Whilst all the staff were warm and very friendly. The room very clean and comfortable. The wonderful receptionist Loren Gsa really made the difference on seeing I was upset trying to deal with a toll company as a person from the UK gave me her phone to call them so I wouldn't get any overseas phone charges. WOW I can't remember the last time I received customer service like this fantastic. Had a great stay would highly recommend

"Good value hotel"
stevecT8545WB, 18 Septembre 2019

Very good value hotel with great service. Breakfast was fine, wish there was more fruits but hey, can't ask for the moon! My room had a microwave and a fridge, but keep in mind not all rooms have those.

"The Room Met our Needs"
Cedar_Park_chump, 14 Septembre 2019

We stayed at the Best Western Springfield while we were visiting metro Washington DC this summer. Four of us stayed in one room. The property is a little on the older side, but decently maintained. Hotel staff was very friendly. The room was clean, smelled fresh, and met our needs, but was a little on the crowded side. The soap, shampoo, and conditioner is in a dispenser instead of bottles. Also, the hotel is one of the few I have seen in which there is a lifeguard for the pool. The rooms could use some improvements. The shower curtain was too narrow and so we had problems with water on the floor after showers. The bathroom door is not plumb and is very difficult to close. There are not enough outlets in the room. If you stay, you need to bring a power strip for your electronics. This room was one of the few we in which we stayed on a long road trip which didn't have a refrigerator. The hotel had a good free breakfast with a better than average selection. However, the dining area was small and cramped. The first morning we ate breakfast, it was hard to get a seat or move around. We chose this hotel because it had a good price. There are some trade-offs, but still the hotel met our needs.

"Great Hotel"
AMNYC1988, 12 Septembre 2019

Near Washington DC very friendly helpful ample staff with a desk that is staffed 24 hours, large clean rooms, great hot breakfast with a nice selection , easy location near the highway, I would stay there again

"A convenient and clean place to stay"
suze1360, 26 Août 2019

I read the reviews for this BW before I made reservations. I was very pleased with how easy it was to access from I-95 N (right at the base of the Mixing Bowl), but VERY easy to leave the hotel and get on the Inner Loop. Likewise, it was very easy to exit the Outer Loop and return to the hotel. I plan on staying there again next May. The only down side were tractor trailers using Jake brakes during the night, but I always fell asleep quickly afterwards. The breakfast was one of the best free breakfasts I have had.

"A week long stay "
671tamiw, 20 Août 2019

Spent a week here and overall room was nice, breakfast bar was great with more variety than any hotel I've stayed at previously. Location was close to everything you could need and near expressway to get everywhere you could want to visit. Pool is fabulous with life guards. Only down fall is it doesn't open til 1-9. If you have any scent related issues this may not be place for you. They use a strong deodorizer in the rooms. In my room it was located on the window. Take it down put in clean trash bag tie it shut and problem solved and when you leave put it back. Simple. Room was clean and updated except the keycards those were a pain in the butt had to get them reactivated several times a day. That was annoying. Overall great option for a long term stay.

"Good breakfast, convenient for attractions"
avem270423, 12 Août 2019

The room was good for the price we paid and for the location since it was close to the attractions. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. The beds were not so comfortable though and the ground flor did not have a microwave and refrigerator , though the staff move one for us from the top floors. The breakfast was good with all varieties.

"The most unloved hotel on our trip."
Miatarider, 10 Août 2019

This hotel is located right next to the freeway and off-ramp. The rooms are very small and crowded with oversized furniture. They fit 2 full sized beds because 2 queens would never fit. The bathrooms are equally small and no shampoo or soap were provided. We asked for some at the front desk but they didn't have any. However, the rooms were clean. The morning breakfast was also disappointing with those fake scrambled eggs and the waffle area was very messy. The one high point of this hotel is the swimming pool, but they only keep it open from 1pm to 9pm.

"Needs some TLC"
Mechelle M, 08 Août 2019

Check in was good, Adell on reception wasfriendly and knowledgeable. Our room was on the 4th floor looking down onto a roof and the motorway, the window had a large crack. The floor was lino and the room of decent size. There was no king bed available so we had a room with two doubles -they were tiny -so much my husband and I slept in one each and we were not big people. The room looked worn out and in need of a renovation more than just painting over the problems. The pool was a good size and looked well maintained. The breakfast was good with the inclusion of fresh fruit which was appreciated. However the dining room itself was in need of a facelift with some seats taped up and in general just run down. The building itself has limited street appeal and the small reception on the side does not stand out. Overall a good stay but probably paid too much for the standard received

"Great Hotel"
Jason C, 07 Août 2019

Friendly staff, and always clean rooms. The manager gives me great rates for my extended stays at this hotel. I have been working in the area for almost a year and will come back to this hotel again the next time I am in the DC area.

"Scammers"
SteveRos257, 29 Juillet 2019

I booked this because I thought it was a decent hotel at a decent price. Well, first I called and the night manager, Adel, said there were no rooms available. Then I went online and booked no problem. I arrived at 9pm and the parking lot was maybe half full. Check in was easy, as long as you don't mind seeing an armed guard with an extended magazine in the lobby. If you pay with cc you have to give an additional $100 security deposit, $200 if you pay with cash. That is a red flag to me, but I ignored it. I got to my room at approx. 930pm and checked out at approximately 620am. Breakfast was average, scrambled eggs and sausage. But imagine my surprise when I see a $400 charge on my card!! I called 4 times to inquire and was finally told it was for room damage! I was told the tv was broken and discovered by housekeeping. No way, I never touched the tv, but now have to prove it. This place is shady!

"10+ Stars"
545wandae, 29 Juillet 2019

We have traveled all week and will be in the DC area for a few more days. Our stay here has been the best on our whole trip! If we could give 10+ we would! Outstanding service, room, breakfast. This was truly remarkable. We've paid much more for some run down beat up rooms. Walking into our room last night was such a relief and pick me up!!!! Thank you so much for everything. We booked our room for one more day and will just travel back tonight to stay here again. Excellent service!!!

"Pleasantly surprised."
edenberries, 26 Juillet 2019

Best bed and pillows ever. The free breakfast was quite a spread. I stayed four nights and never had to eat a repeat meal. It saved me some money an started my day off well. The staff were friendly , professional and accommodating. I had a couple of instances with the tv an computer connections but they were resolved immediately. The room was a little dated but overall clean and comfortable It met my needs as a single traveler. The pool was great. I have no real complaints. It was a good deal for the money and easy to get to places from.I would use it again.

"Nasty "
P3129XYlorip, 16 Juillet 2019

Not an ideal location. I'd still sleep in my car before I'd sleep here. The room was dirty. Sheets had Stains and burn holes. Dark rooms and the light switch didn't work. Hallway and room smelled bad! I refused to stay.

"Worst Hotel Experience for a barn "
gkerubel, 06 Juillet 2019

Works service and hotel experience Ever: I came in after my long flight into DC, I could not check in the hotel even after 3 pm because the receptionist is doing night audit, had to wait an hour, after that she was not able to find my reservations which I made and paid online with hotels.com, had to call hotels.com to send her the reservation information, which she still was not able find in the system after two hours I said just give me a room and sort it out in the room, when I got in my room it smelled like a barn, didn't get much sleep in the morning tried to sort the reservation issue and to confirm i was not charged in addition to what I already paid online, could not get a receipt, but my credit card was charge for the stay, I was given just a blanc paper written no charge with name and signature of assistant general manager.... told me that is how they provide service with rude treatment.... left the hotel with work treatment and hotel experience, would not recommend to anyone... Beware

"8 day stay"
Resort32966424604, 01 Juillet 2019

rooms were clean veryday, breakfast was great, pool was great, the only thing hotel does not have is a laundry room for guest to use, becomes useful when staying over a week. overall everthing was great

"Rolling Thunder stay"
Compass34533906759, 25 Juin 2019

Had a pleasant stay at this location friendly staff great selection at breakfast. Didn't use it a very nice pool on site. We were there for the last Rolling Thunder Ride in DC There were 1.5 Million Motorcycles that came to the event. Would stay here again

"Nice place for a stay"
Daniellestewart69, 09 Juin 2019

I enjoyed my 3 day stay at this hotel. Room was clean when we got here and then the hotel staff kept it clean while we were out. Pool is nice and it is also handicap accessible; there is a pool attendant on duty while the pool is open. The breakfast has a good selection of items. The hotel is within 20 minutes of Washington D.C. so long as traffic is light. Adequate lighted parking with easy access to entrances.

"US Visit 2019"
Praveen K, 06 Juin 2019

I stayed at this hotel. This is OK OK place to stay. prices were including BF, but BF was just so so. 100% identical manu was there for all days - no change. but considering the price, can be said as OK

"Horrible!"
Kenj2993, 03 Juin 2019

First off, this was one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. The ad online didn't not reflect what the room had to offer and the hotel staff was not helpful or accommodating. I stayed here with my family in a double room and had planned on using the microwave in case I wanted to heat my food or a refrigerator to store my food. That didn't happen. The ad for the room said that it had both of those but were nowhere to be found. Compared to other rooms with double beds, this room was tight and not worth the money at all. I asked for a change of room because my grandmother was not comfortable on the mattress provided in the room. The room change was not accommodated until 1am. Housekeeping NEVER came by the clean, change sheets or towels, empty trash can, NOTHING. Why have a housekeeping department if they aren't going to do their jobs? All of the staff must have chose the wrong field for their careers and clearly don't care about guests staying here. The saddest part is that when I needed something, I was made to walk all the way down to the front desk to get it. This is a joke of a hotel and to be in such a nice area in Springfield in close proximity to the town center and metro and nice places, you guys treat this place like a damn hostel. I paid for the room through a third party discount site provided through my job but it should have been free. Never will I even consider this room and I wish I could get a refund. Horrible room. Horrible hotel. Horrible “hospitality “. Just close your doors please and save everyone from this nightmare.

"Hire a window cleaning service"
Climber34027792978, 28 Mai 2019

The window to our room was very smeared (probably from a child),and the windows to the dining room were filthy. Also, open up the blinds in the dining room to allow the natural light in. Attention to these details DOES make a difference.

"You be the judge"
Label1963, 27 Mai 2019

Dear Best Western Staff- Care to provide an explanation as to why you would be unwilling to cooperate with an investigation regarding the theft of a vehicle from your property?? No video?? How about your supposed ‘security staff'? That's all I have to say.

"Worst Hotel Experience!"
ShackZ3, 17 Mai 2019

Tiny beds, worst service EVER! The hotel felt like a college dorm room with drug smells in the hallway and loud noise throughout the night, from other guests! And when talking to the front staff about it nothing was done about it!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!

"Friendliest breakfast"
Kathleen W, 09 Mai 2019

We were in town for a family event and looking for a basic place to stay for the weekend. Everything went fine with our check-in. What I really want to highlight was our breakfast experience. Vundee, the breakfast hostess greated us at the door and made us feel like we were "visiting grandma". She was so warm and welcoming and kept asking if there was anything she could do to make our breakfast better. There was a wide variety of breakfast food which was served hot. She continued with pleasant conversation and wished us a pleasant goodbye when we left. On our second morning the experience was equally as good. This was certainly a bright spot in our visit. The desk clerks were pleasant and professional. Our room had a funky smell. It wasn't overpowering but it was noticeable. It was clean and comfortable and seemed to be in good repair. Apparently there were a few busloads of high school students in the hotel - we had no idea. We didn't hear a sound. The only indication we had was that the elevator seemed slow, probably from the crowd.

"Mr."
Daud K, 28 Avril 2019

Best Western has easy cancellation policy, good breakfast, nice staff and affordable rates. We stayed for eleven nights and did not face any problem. When I requested a room change, the staff was helpful to find me a quit room.

"Worst BW I ever been"
Arrix, 13 Avril 2019

Noisy and terribly smelly room, poor cleanliness and service. Breakfast with no fresh bakery of any type. While leaving I asked to get my invoice emailed. They were not able to satisfy my request even after 40 mis on hold. I am used to lodge at BW hotels, but, really, this is the worst I stayed.

"Should be called the "Worst Western""
Natalie D, 12 Avril 2019

When we arrived at 4:45pm, it took 45 minutes to check in. Yes, 45 minutes! We had driven 9+ hours to get to that destination and that was the service we were greeted with. The rooms were not "clean" yet at 5:00pm. They were arguing with us about the type of the room we had reserved and paid more for on the Best Western website (executive double beds). After 45 minutes of them trying to figure out why the software wouldn't show clean rooms available, the girl at the front desk realized it was there all along and they didn't know what option to select to find the type of room. So they wasted our time. Everything was extremely unprofessional and inefficient. The front desk staff was also rude about the type of room we had reserved. Once we got to the room, there were dark stains on the walls near the beds and over the tv that looked like poop or mold. Yes, very gross. There were also several holes in the walls that need to be patched. I will NOT be staying at what I now call the "Worst Western" ever again. It was an awful experience. I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone who goes to the area either.

"THERE IS NO SHUTTLE TO THE METRO!"
Robin H, 04 Avril 2019

For our Washington, DC vacation we chose this hotel because of the less expensive nightly rate compared to other lodging closer to the City. BE AWARE before booking here that although in the past they had a shuttle to the nearest Metro station (and you'll read about it in the reviews), they no longer offer that service. You can catch a bus in front of the hotel for a 15 minute ride to the Metro station, or it is a 35 minute walk to the Metro station, neither of which is ideal when the weather is bad. In addition, there are major highways that run through that area. We made it work but would choose a hotel closer to a Metro station next time we visit. Having said that, we liked the hotel itself as it was very clean and felt safe. The rooms are up-to-date and everything works great including the small refrigerator and microwave in the room. There are many choices of hot and cold foods for breakfast so we never went away hungry. It would be nice if breakfast went a little later than 9 a.m. because, coming from a western time zone, we had to get up VERY early (according to our bodies' clocks) to make it on time. The employees were friendly and, were it not for the difficulty in getting around the area without a car, we would probably stay here again.

"Look Elsewhere"
HiHoHiHoRDU, 31 Mars 2019

I struggle between 2 and 3 stars, but either way, I'd look elsewhere. I'd probably give 2.5 stars if it was possible because 3 is "average" and this was definitely below average. There are many other options in the immediate area. First of all, the room was super noisy. I could hear pretty much every car on the freeway outside. Second, the bathroom is very small and the fan was so loud it woke up everyone in my room. Had to hold the toilet handle down to flush correctly. One night the sink mysteriously would not drain, but it drained by the morning and then was OK. Bed is OK. Not terrible, not great, but there's no real comforter, just a light blanket. Room lock didn't work well either. Had to try to unlock at least 10-20 times every time before the lock would work, even after getting a new key. Getting that new key also took quite a long time. There was only one person working the front desk at 8:30pm and it took about 15 minutes to check in 2 people in front of me in line. I think the rooms have been updated, but it feels like they did as little as possible to be able to say they were updated.

"Best Western Springfield, VA"
jigarciab, 27 Mars 2019

Low cost hotel... not fancy but average rooms, good for a few days. Breakfast included - average to low quality. Location is great to visit DC area, restaurants and shopping malls. Service was average, check in and check out process was fast. Good high speed internet and TV programming. Overall experience was average!

"Clean, Comfortable Rooms; Convenience, and Nice Staff"
GodLovesYou, 24 Mars 2019

I have stayed at this Best Western nearly 40 times in the past year. Rooms: The rooms and bathroom are always clean. The bed is comfortable and the sheets are soft. The towels are soft. The Executive level rooms have a microwave and refrigerator and a larger desk and more comfortable desk chair. Free Wifi is good, never had problem with connection dropping. Convenience: Close to the 495/95 highway exits, near Backlick Rd. 1.4 miles to Franconia-Springfield Metro, Aldi and Giant grocery stores and CVS short drive away. Bob Evans located on the other side of the bridge. Variety of restaurants nearby. Breakfast and Staff: Nice, complementary breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, good coffee) located in lobby building and you can get a hot tea or coffee there at night. Vundee, the little Asian lady who does breakfast, exemplifies and surpasses the finest customer service and making guests feel welcome and cared about, like family. In the hundreds of hotels I have stayed at and restaurants I have eaten at, I have never encountered anyone as genuinely and consistently friendly and welcoming as Vundee. She truly is cares about people in her heart and wants to make sure the customers are satisfied and delighted. She greets people with a warm smile, and “Let me know if there is anything I can help you with” and quickly works to handle any concern. No matter how busy the hotel is, Vundee works hard to refill things and still keeps her smile on her face and letting her customers know she cares about them. Vundee makes breakfast wonderful and helps each person have a better day with her smile and caring. Vundee truly is a shining star at the hotel and makes me feel glad I have come back. Vundee is the "Best" in "Best Western."

"Nice Hotel"
mauricej154, 11 Février 2019

Beautiful uodated hotel, conveniently located among restaurant's, mall, fast food, easy exit on and off Interstate 95. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. No issues with amenities throughout my entire stay, highly recommended.

"You get what you pay for."
Journey40354323509, 18 Novembre 2018

The room was clean. The staff that cleaned the rooms around me were very loud. The bed was uncomfortable it sank in the middle. The TV picture quality was poor despite the TV itself being a newer looking high def type. The hvac unit was incredibly loud the second day so I turned it off while I was in the room. Not the worst stay I've ever experienced but definitely not the best either.

"Great price, good breakfast, good location"
classicallyme, 01 Novembre 2018

I was driving to Connecticut from the Carolinas and needed a hotel in the DC area. I was arriving quite late, after midnight; and this hotel allowed for late check-in. It was about half the cost of the other hotels that were slightly closer in! (I believe there was a convention or something in DC that caused all the prices closer in to be so high.) The room that I was in was clean and serviceable, and the breakfast spread the following morning was great! They had both an automatic pancake maker and a waffle maker. The staff both in the breakfast room and at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. I'm stay here again in a heartbeat. This experience gave me an awesome impression of Best Western as a hotel chain.

"Great for what you get"
Kelli B, 29 Octobre 2018

Chose this hotel based on price and its location to the Franconia/Springfield Metro. I was a little leery going in, based on the location, a small triangle of a spot between an off ramp and a few streets. We were on the third (of five) floors, near an end, and I appreciated that there was ample parking and easy access to the rooms. We returned to the hotel after midnight, and I was not worried about our safety in the parking lot. I was pleasantly suprised by the vinyl plank flooring--I liked that it seemed easier to clean than carpet, and there didn't seem to be a noise/echo issue (also a concern). The room was poorly lit with just three table lamps, but that wasn't a big deal. The two garbage cans in the room were also very small. The fan/temperature control worked well and was neither too loud nor too quiet. The two beds did not seem to be the same age, as one caved in a lot more when I sat on it (again, not really a big deal, and I slept fine in that bed). The two biggest surprises--the cable TV did not have HGTV or Food Network. I don't think I've ever been in a hotel that doesn't. It did have several dozen other, lesser known channels, and my daughter had no complaints about the in-room wi-fi. The other surprise was the breakfast! I've only had a better free hotel breakfast at a Courtyard! This one included make your own waffles and pancakes, fruit, yogurt, cereal, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, a nice little coffee/hot chocolate machine, and much more (too much for me to remember just a day later). The breakfast room had plenty of seating, even with a lot of guests, and was very well staffed, with constant replenishment. If you want a fancy hotel or luxury room, this definitely isn't it. But if you're looking for a place to stay on the cheap, this is a very good option for a lower line hotel. I used a prepay-type website and correctly guessed which hotel I was getting, paying about $65. This was worth it.

"Wonderful hotel!"
Holly C, 18 Octobre 2018

This hotel isn't fancy, but for the price it can't be beat! The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, shower hot with great water pressure. And the breakfast was better than that at any other hotel I've stayed at. Eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes, and much more! The breakfast attendant was friendly and kept everything clean and full, even though there were a lot of people in the breakfast area. We would definitely stay here again!

"Good find!"
mdaby3, 16 Octobre 2018

This hotel is only about 3-4 miles from the Franconia-Springfield Metro station. Be aware that it costs about $9/day to park. The hotel itself is good--clean, easy access, really good breakfast! Parking is generally close to one of two doors, so you're never that far from the building. Our room was clean, with hard wood type flooring, which to me is much better than carpet. The AC worked fine, the shower was fantastic. Our TV didn't work the first night, was fixed the next day while we were out. The front desk person (Shantelle?) was excellent--very helpful. Plenty of small local restaurants in the area. Will stay here again if the need arises.

"Decent for a visit to DC"
bowlco0476, 13 Septembre 2018

Room was small. It was very damp and dingy. Although it was somewhat renovated in our room, the work was done poorly. Fixtures were loose in the walls and ceiling had water damage. The price was right for a 4 night stay near DC and a metro station. Springfield is a great location on the blue line to see all the sites in DC and surrounding VA area. Lots of shopping and food options near the hotel. Breakfast was great and staff was very attendant to the food and needs of the guests. Front desk addressed any questions and issues I had. Beds were comfortable.

"Few Minutes Away From DC"
Scarlet1128, 01 Septembre 2018

Stayed here with my hubby for a visit in DC. It is near DC though it will take around 30 minutes to travel because of traffic. Their breakfast time is shorter compared to other BW so guests should wake up earlier to avail free breakfast. Though this hotel does not have laundry services, there are lots of laundry shops near the area around 6 minutes away. Room and bath are clean.

"Washington DC from Virginia"
Nasser-Eddine R, 27 Août 2018

The hotel has a nice location close to many highways that may get you to various destinations. It is easily accessible with a GPS but would be difficult without it. The rooms were clean and the service was very good. They have a quite nice and diversified breakfast.

"Clean, Comfortable, Great Value - #1 Choice"
GodLovesYou, 24 Août 2018

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable hotel room with a good free breakfast and a great value, Best Western in Springfield is my #1 choice. I have stayed here five times and plan to stay more in the future. My first experience, the hotel front desk person had announced my room, but since then, I have not had a problem and they have been very helpful and exhibited wonderful customer service skills. The rooms have been consistently clean, and the bed and sheets comfortable. The room I had stayed before was upgraded with a refrigerator and microwave. The Executive level room are about $10-$15 more and offer the refrigerator, microwave, and bigger desk and more comfortable desk chair (versus a square desk and padded wood chair) and a larger flat screen TV. The lotion, conditioner are really nice (organic, olive oil, honey). Compared to the Comfort Inn, the Best Western free breakfast is much better and really good - eggs, sausage, diced potatoes and an area for waffles and pancakes. Yogurt, breakfast pastries, plus some fresh cut fruit. The coffee is much better at the Best Western too! Best Western offers a small pool if you want to cool off in the summer. I am a Platinum Best Western Rewards member, and on one of my stays, I found on the desk a jar of Andes mints, a bag of snacks and water, and a very nice welcome back letter from the hotel manager. I was thrilled and felt very appreciated, since I have never received a welcome back letter let alone all those wonderful gifts at a hotel before. Join the Best Western Rewards program, and book the hotel through there. It will offer you a great rate and then you can partake in the wonderful drinks (water, ice tea, soda and snacks) - take up to 4 when you check in. Also, check the Best Western website, since they offer an elite status hotel matching program where they will give you an equivalent Best Western program status as you have in any other hotel chain - good for one year. For the value for the money and getting a clean, comfortable room and bed, the Best Western in Springfield is my #1 choice! This hotel has made me a Best Western hotel convert where I will now look at Best Western hotels when I travel.

"Overall Very Nice"
Ad88girl, 20 Août 2018

The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, and the food was tasty. Aside from a few cleanliness issues in the room, we were very happy with our stay. It was also close to several attractions, like Mount Vernon and Smithsonian.

"Average budget hotel near Washington DC"
mayank1412018, 16 Août 2018

Its an average budget hotel near Washington DC. I stayed there for 2 nights. Bed was not very comfortable and furniture was old. The complimentary breakfast is excellent. Good food joints near the hotel.

"The 2 Star rating sums it up."
GoItaly2011, 29 Juillet 2018

We picked this Best Western primarily for its proximity to the function we were in Springfield, VA to attend and also because my husband is a Best Western Rewards member and for their AARP room rate. Various comments in the previous reviews ring true, the most disappointing of which was the comment about getting to the breakfast area early or having little to no items available to eat. We were there for 2 nights and the first morning woke very early so had our pick of a large selection of items to choose from. The second morning we arrived in the breakfast room at 9:10 am and were told that the waffle station and the pancake machine were closed at 9 am and no bread items or pastries were available. The Juice machine had run dry also. There was still a large pan of scrambled eggs, and another of bacon available; coffee, cold cereal, and skim milk, PERIOD. We made do with what was available. However, when another guest inquired about getting something else, one of the women working the breakfast room responded rather abruptly and petulantly that breakfast was over at 9 am. The other guest acquiesced but I intervened and said "Excuse me Miss, I don't mean to be rude, but we were told by the Front Desk when we checked in that Breakfast was until 10 AM." At that point the other guest told the woman that he had also been told 10 AM. At which point the employee became a little defensive and went on about the end time being 9 AM and I suggested to her that she should inform her front desk coworkers not to tell guests otherwise instead of blaming us. After all of this, the same employee, by way of apology, brought us 1st two blueberry muffins, then shortly thereafter added to danish pastries to the plate, and finally brought us two yogurts "for later." I thanked her but didn't have the heart to tell her we neither had the time or the inclination to consume the fruits of her apology and simply took them to the front desk and left them there. Other than that, the rooms were adequate and clean but could use a spot of paint and polish. The beds were comfortable. The pool looked divine but we weren't able to take advantage of it, and, except for the woman in the breakfast room, all of the staff were friendly and most helpful.

"In need of repairs"
david082303, 25 Juillet 2018

The bathroom door was broken would not shut the room was dirty no overhangs between buildings had to walk in the rain to get the breakfast had to stand in the rain to open the doors to the building and bring my belongings inside the people at the breakfast rude when asked for items they said I would have to wait that somebody would get to me when they can had to ask multiple times to get towels and never got them

"Not very happy..."
makerofdreams1, 28 Juin 2018

We always enjoy a good Best Western. This was not one of the best. It was raining when we arrived. The office where you check in and have breakfast is not attached to the rooms. You must go outside to another building. When checking in they said please sign here for $150 deposit per night. I said for what? Incidentals, in case you break something........ I said I've never been asked for this before. No signature. No room. The rooms are small. The beds are double bed and not queens. I did call and check before arriving and told they were queens. Called again told doubles. Hmm, communication problem. The staff was nice though. When arriving in our room we checked it thoroughly and found the bathroom floor was not very clean. Wore shoes until took care of that problem. Also, the toilet paper hangers were on the back of the toilet. I did go downstairs and talk to front desk, because they had just put $150 hold on my card if something was broken and this was not on the wall. When going back upstairs we stopped to get ice and water was dripping on us from the third floor. I went back to the front desk to let them know..it was in a dangerous place. He asked if it was from the third floor and I said yes. We checked back 45 minutes later and still dripping and more water. We left shortly after and it had been taken care of. Things happen. What we are not happy about...and I suppose this is my fault. When checking out I left a throw...blanket... folded in a chair. We thought we had everything but when we stopped later we realized we did not pick it up. I said BW will keep it and perhaps they'll mail it to us. I'll call them when we get home. We were already almost five hours out. I did call and the young woman that answered said we found nothing. I said they would have to since I know exactly where it was when I left the room. It isn't hiding. She said hold on and went to check and said I will talk to ..... and will call you back. She took my number and the dates (which I already gave her) when there, etc. She NEVER returned my call. I hope whoever has the throw/blanket enjoys it. So, that makes me sad that someone that works there would take something and not put in lost and found. I thought BW was an honest company. When going through the papers from traveling when I got home, I looked over the paperwork the young man gave me when there..He said what is your email? I told him because I am a BW member. I said did you find it..Oh yes, he replied. Um, I don't think so. The letter he gave me says that he gave was for a new member and I'd be getting an email later. Hello!!! BW points should all go on one card..not many or they don't add up. So, I will call BW main office to clear this up. In the meantime... I will steer clear of Springfield, VA. Best Western due to the dishonesty. How sad. I will say this... they serve a breakfast that covers everyone. And, there was a security man setting in the hallway when we returned late that evening. Hmmm

"Avoid if you can"
rmgmichelle, 15 Juin 2018

When I arrived at this hotel I wasn't expecting a lot because it is a 2 star. I wasn't however prepared for quite how bad it was. The staff were regimental about times and were not even willing to consider checking you in 15 minutes early. Forget breakfast after 9am everything was being cleared away. The rooms are dated, shabby and tiny, the linens are worn and need replacing. We found stained towels in the bathroom. Although it says non smoking a previous guest had and the odor in the room was awful. The beds were full sized and uncomfortable. After asking for a different room we were refused. Had 2 nights here and although we had a lovely break and enjoyed the city having to come back to this hotel certainly spoilt it a little.

"Bare bones but ok"
K H, 07 Juin 2018

This hotel is very bare bones and basic. The room reminded me of my college dorm room. It was clean. Breakfast is included but be sure you get there early. We got there during the last 20 minutes and the staff was angrily telling us we needed to be there at the beginning if we wanted food as they cleaned it up before the official end of breakfast time. If you're looking for a basic place to sleep this will do.

"SPringfield Rocks!"
tweety92107, 29 Mai 2018

The staff was great. Everyone was kind, friendly and helpful. Daniel and Danella at the front desk were exceptional. Valerie,Mills and Vundee were great, too . I will stay here the next time we are in town.

"Great breakfast, so-so other stuff"
dorsalmo, 28 Mai 2018

This place has the most variety of any hotel breakfast we've ever had. Excellent. Unfortunately, the rooms have some issues. Our first room had a bad air conditioner, but even the one they moved us to was more damp than it should have been. The towels never seemed to dry. Also, the floors (not carpet) are apparently swept but not mopped. The double beds we had were hard. Not sure if the queen beds they supposedly have would be better. Lights off in elevator. Having the pool open (even though it was before Memorial Day) would have been great because it was hot.

"Heavy Handed Nonsenese"
Michael M, 19 Mai 2018

I had made my 8 day reservation 2 months ahead. They had sent me an email asking if I wanted to check in 10:00. I arrived at 11 and my room wasn't ready. I worked all day and returned at 6:30. This time they said they didn't get my room request. I pointed it out to them that it was on their copy of my sign in sheet. I'm always put off by a business that treats me like a criminal, who lies to me when they meet me, or one who goes out of their way not to trust me. Non-smoking hotels are very common. Smokers typically smoke outside of them. I don't smoke. But this Best Western Springfield required me to sign and initial that I would pay them $400/day if I even smelled like smoke from being in a room with it, or whatever. My co-worker does smoke and I smell smoke on her all the time. Would it transfer to me? I had a reservation for 8 days, and cancelled after one; My feeling is if they don't trust you, why should you trust them. On another matter, the furniture is very dated and in need of an update. The breakfast was good and the gym was adequate. The Lobby is a mess. The good news is they gave me as a rewards member 3 small bags of Famous Amos cookies. The TV worked, the hot water was hot and there were plenty of towel. I couldn't get past the bad taste from checkin and left 7 days early. The are better places in Springfield; you can see at least 5 of them from the front of this hotel, but this one is near the bottom

"Best western Springfield va"
marybottomley, 19 Mai 2018

I have been very disappointed with our stay thus far. We came to this hotel because of the amenities it offered, especially the shuttle to and from Metro. Unfortunately we were only able to use the shuttle to the station once, and it was not available to pick us up. Again for the rest of our stay, it is not available. I would not recommend this place. I know we will no longer stay at this hotel. If I had not paid for 4nights I would check out.

"Very nice hotel."
Karon C, 18 Mai 2018

Very nice hotel, great staff. Excellent breakfast, great staff in breakfast area. Great water pressure for shower. Clean, hardwood floors/flooring in the room! Every hotel should have this flooring instead of carpet. Microwave and mini fridge needed to be requested which I failed to read.

"Great location, clean, excellent breakfast"
_greenham_eva, 10 Mai 2018

We chose this hotel for its convenient location and past positive experiences with Best Western. To our surprise, we received a "welcome back" note and some chocolates from the General Manager. (We had not stayed in a Best Western for a while because our kids moved to locations where there were none nearby.) In addition to the chocolates, we had a great stay.

"Decent Hotel"
bsebonsai, 01 Mai 2018

I stayed here for a couple weeks. Its a mid range, decent hotel. Clean and convenient. They did have several false fire alarms while I was there. Maybe 3-4 over the course of a few days. Otherwise, the breakfast is ample, and the beds are comfortable. It is right off I-95, so you will hear a bit of traffic. Nothing major.

"Great hotel"
travelerI7790PW, 27 Avril 2018

This hotel was a surprise, but a good one. It is in a great location close to shopping and food. The rooms were clean and roomy and the staff was great and responsive to needs. The full breakfast is very good and substantial and the breakfast manager, Vundee, is cheerful and friendly, and worked hard to keep the breakfast items replenished. All of the food was tasty. I will definitely stay again if I am in the area.

"Economical Hotel conveniently located for long term visit to the Washington DC area."
Wilson S, 21 Avril 2018

This hotel makes visiting the Washington DC area economical and convenient. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly making the stay even more pleasant. The accommodations are somewhat dated, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good each morning giving a great start to each day. The hotel is near the Metro station and the hotel provides transportation to and from the station on a demand basis during the daytime hours. Check with the desk each day. There is a bus that stops within a block of the hotel and is very convenient.

"Bad experience"
edelcoco, 20 Avril 2018

Stay at this hotel at your own peril. Old and outdated compared to comparable properties in the immediate area. The staff could be more attentive. Never use the shuttle service since it unreliable and required an extensively long wait to return to the hotel.

"A bit out of date"
Judy R, 19 Avril 2018

All the positive- the location is close to the metro rail. The breakfast was better than many offered. The coffee is available all the time. There isn't a fee for parking or the shuttle. The shuttle runs until 10 pm. The front desk morning clerk has the prettiest, radiant smile and a personality to match. Our room was clean. Negative- there are no signs to the lobby. When you turn into the parking lot there is a small building in front of the hotel. This is the lobby and breakfast area. (It used to be a restaurant.) The entrance is on the side of the building making it difficult to find. The shuttle vehicle is showing its age. The shuttle driver was listening to loud profane rap the last evening we were picked up. Not the best way to end my day.

"Inexpensive stay while you visit DC!"
Joe58156, 13 Avril 2018

This Best Western is just a bit more shabby than some of the others we've stayed at, although the rooms are pretty clean. The A/C was pleasantly quiet. It's a good value! Tip: the hotel is right next to the interstate. I suspect the rooms are noisier on the highway side than the other side. We were on the other side on the top floor and there was no traffic noise. Great feature: free shuttle to and from the Metro. From there it is a 5-6 dollar ride (takes about an hour) to, say the Washington Monument. This is a LOT better than dealing with traffic and parking in inner DC. The staff were good; the breakfast is just OK. Overall, a decent place to stay at a good price.

"Amazing stay"
jhabbersett, 04 Avril 2018

This was one of the best hotels ever stayed at. Breakfast was amazing with a ton of selections. Beds were comfy. My son (3.5) loved the hotel and playing in the room. Great staff. Easy on and off access from major highways

"Pros and cons Compared to Comfort Inn"
GodLovesYou, 25 Mars 2018

Two night stay on business, here are my pros and cons: Pros: - Breakfast (hot items) were better than Comfort Inn in Springfield. The scrambled eggs looked more like eggs and tasted fine and the sausage links and patties on the two days were warm and not too greasy or dried out. Push button coffee machine made a good tasting cappucino and other coffee variations. Tea, cereal, and fresh fruit. Yogurt selection and pastries (bagels) were more limited. Make your own waffle and a push button pancake maker made pretty good pancakes. See the picture. Each time you push the button corresponds to one pancake, and you should get a message that says making 1 of 2 pancakes. The first time, I pushed the button nothing happened, but the lady who worked the kitchen helped me. - Bed was a little softer and more comfortable than Comfort Inn. - Amenities: Mouthwash, hand lotion. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are found in the shower behind the picture of Washington D.C. Push the section to have it come out. Hair dryer in a dresser drawer. Iron and ironing board in room. Coffee maker with caffeinated tea. - Use your hotel room key to access the hotel room building. There is an elevator and steps close to each other. - Fitness room (see picture) is in the hotel room building on the first floor, mid-way in the building. Treadmill, rowing maching, bike, limited weight equipment, cold water, and towels. Outside is a pool (open during the warmer months). - Good location - immediately turn right after you go over the bridge on Commerce St. Over the Rte 95 bridge (Commerce St) and around the corner is a shopping center on Amherst Ave with a Giant grocery store, CVS, and Pig Sandwich restaurant, and Homewood Suites. Mike's American restaurant is close-by. Best Western is across the street from Courtyard by Marriott - If you are a Best Western Rewards (frequent stayer program) member, there are a few parking spaces in the front. You can pick four items from the check-in display upon check-in (bottles of water, sparkling fruit waters, soda, mini-Oreo cookes, Rice Crispy Treat) which is nice and will save you $1.50 for a bottle of water in the machine. - Upon check-in I was told there was going to be an extra hold on my credit card for the security deposit (so the issue that other traveler's raised with the manager being a crook was really a non-issue). Comfort Inn also did this. When I got my credit card monthly statement 3 days later, the security deposit was not on there. Cons: - The hotel room building is separate from the lobby and breakfast building. When it is raining and snowing, it is a pain especially having to find your key to badge in to get in the building. - No refrigerator or microwave in the room. The Comfort Inn had a big refrigerator and a microwave. I was able to use the microwave in the BW breakfast area. - Two different front desk clerks announced my hotel room out loud in front of other men waiting. As a woman alone, I really did not want everyone in the lobby to know what room I was in. That was security issue. - Located near I-95, you may hear traffic noise. It really didn't bother me. The noise from the people talk the halls and slamming a door between 11:00 pm and 1:00 am on one night was more annoying. - Room key didn't work several times. 1. After checking in, it worked for the building door but not the room. 2. Extended my stay the first night, second day, got locked out. 3. Worked in building but not room. I did not have this problem at the Comfort Inn.

"good location"
Debby S, 25 Mars 2018

This BW is in a good location to get DC Metro and be able to park free. The hotel is small and near interstates which makes it noisy. Staff was ok, but not the friendliest! Breakfast was good! Bed sheeting appeared old and worn. The heating system in my room began smoking triggering the alarm. I was immediately given a new room.

"Horrible experience"
michelemS1101TS, 06 Février 2018

Did not get the Rooms that I reserved. I was told they did not have rooms with queen beds in them. And I did not get connecting rooms with my friends. When I talk to the manager none of this was true.

"The General Manger is a Thief"
Brud C, 06 Février 2018

This motel is about as bad in overall quality as you can get. My nephew booked a room through a national booking agency (as is very usual) and paid for 10 days UP FRONT. A family emergency created the necessary cancellation after day one. Proper notice was given to the motel, the booking company (which agreed to the refund but claims they had paid the motel already, and it was up to the motel manager to refund his money), and then the manager REFUSED to refund anything because of his "policy". I could go on about the attitude of this stall, the motel condition, not to mention this illegal action by this so-called General Manager (failure to furnish or complete services paid for.). This is just finger pointing but will leave us no choice but to file an action (plus costs) as well as to write to the parent Franchisor for some sort of sanction against this site in causing this public nightmare.

"Suprise $200 charge when you check in"
RebeccaPirate, 23 Janvier 2018

I go to check in on Sunday night and they told me there is a $200 room deposit. I was shocked and very upset because no where when I booked the hotel there would be an extra charge for a room deposit. Especially that much. I didn't express my disappointment to the clerk because he didn't make the rule so why take it out on him? So I get to my room and try to set the sleep timer on the tv and the remote doesn't work. It's only good for turning on/off, changing the channel and turning up/down the volume. Had to manually do it myself. The floor was uneven so if you stepped on the certain side of the room, you lose your balance and almost fall. The bed springs keeps making noises when you are moving and wakes you back up. I went to get something to drink out of the vending mechind and load and behold, someone unplugged the vending and ice machine and I had to squeeze through to plug it back in. It was off for a long time because the soda was very warm. It's also sad that I had to take pictures of the room to make sure that they can't keep the deposit money for any reason. I am disappointed in this hotel and I will be calling my credit card company to make sure they put the $200 back on my card or the hotel will be in deep trouble.

"Good location, good room, no view"
ktseng, 17 Janvier 2018

The location was great, 30min drive to Washington DC, near Springfield Mall. Plenty of parking places. High security with all doors accessed by room key only. No nice view to speak of, the building looked like a old apartment from outside but the room was clean and modern. Most impressed was the complimentary breakfast, good variety! My only compliant is the room not carpeted and no fridge.

"24 Hour Coffee"
Jo Ann R, 05 Janvier 2018

There are many things I like about this Best Western, I would say location is #1, it's close to the Mall, Metro, Restaurants, & Beltway. Staff has always been accommodating and friendly. I am a coffee drinker and I love to be able to come down to the lobby and get a fresh brewed cup 24/7.

"Plentiful parking"
lowranzoh, 22 Décembre 2017

This hotel offers plenty of parking, even for trailers. The rooms are modestly decorated and the rooms had very comfortable beds. WiFi has a strong signal and the TV selection of channels was nice. The price for the rooms are priced lower than I would expect to pay. So if you want comfort for a lower price than surrounding hotels, this is the place I would recommend.

"Making money"
larrydT9584NP, 09 Décembre 2017

Best western takes and holds your money for an additional gain on top of paying there high prices for the little time you spend in there rooms. I have given up staying at there locations. I have spent days waiting on my money back for so called incidentals. Thay still havent and probably will not...even though i slept on top of the covers and came in and went straight to sleep and got up 5 hours later for work. Not a recommended hotel unless you got plebty of money for them to make more off of you

"This is a Good Clean Place"
77Mack, 04 Décembre 2017

This is a Place where my Business Associates and I stayed. We were there 1 night and all the rooms and the stay was well Except for someone left HAIR in the tub. I refuse to give a bad grade for that because that was an over site on someone's part. The place was great location also slept well and the shower massage was excellent!!! Plus no bugs and clean carpet.

"Our Stay at Best Western, Springfield, VA (21-26 NOV 2017)"
L7434DGmarkr, 01 Décembre 2017

Our Experience at Best Western, Springfield, VA for 5-Nights was Very Pleasant. The Facility is well maintained, clean and our King Bed Room was Very Nice and Comfortable. The Complimentary Breakfast was Outstanding. The Hotel Staff was Very Helpful, Friendly, and Professional.

"Great Value"
BignRichKris, 19 Novembre 2017

This was my 2nd stay at this property, and it really doesn't disappoint. Clean & comfortable, free parking & wifi, and AMAZING free breakfast spread. Conveniently located to restaurants and shopping, plus quick & easy access to the Metro and the interstate. My only complaint would be the lack of a refrigerator and microwave, and outdated electrical outlets (we had to get creative to keep our chargers plugged into the wall socket). We will definitely return for our next trip!

"Great for the price"
JNOMI, 18 Novembre 2017

This hotel is great for the price. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, and there is a free hot breakfast. I stayed here for a conference in DC. It is less than an hour ride in on the Metro, and I saved over $350 by staying here and riding in. This isn't a 5 star hotel by any means, but for the price I was more than impressed. My favorite part was not having carpet in the room. It just felt cleaner. You could tell they had done some updating, and that some things were not updated, like the bathroom door that didn't shut all the way. That was no big deal to me though. Overall, I am very satisfied with my stay here.

"OK to stay"
kevin d, 17 Novembre 2017

The hotel was OK in a convenient location. The room was comfortable. It had a fridge and microwave, two beds, a dresser, a clothes rod and hangers. There was plenty of parking and lots of restaurants and stores nearby.

"Excellent stay and super breakfast"
Jetaul1, 16 Novembre 2017

Hotel was very clean, but the most impressive part was the breakfast. It was set up almost like a cafeteria. Make it yourself waffles, scrambled eggs and the fist time we have ever had "push button" pancakes. Only breakfast suggestion is to have sugar free waffle/pancake syrup. My wife is a diabetic and must have sugar-free. Did have some car noise in the evening (we were on the 4th floor)

"D.C. Trip"
F5531MZjuant, 13 Novembre 2017

Extremely satisfied! Great location! Easy to get on major highways! Many restaurants, stores, and shopping mall nearby! Brkfst was amazing and the rooms were nice and clean. Will definitely stay again

"Wonderful stay at the Best Western"
melissa08252017, 13 Novembre 2017

The hotel staff, especially the breakfast host, were really friendly. The rooms are very clean. It is nearby many restaurants and stores, in which a shuttle can escort you to. Check in and check out were fast and simple.

"Great two days stay"
tielingwang, 12 Novembre 2017

I and my husband had two days stay in Best Western (6721 Commerce Street, Springfield VA 22150) on November 2017, I booked hotel online and I got all detailed booking information soon after booking. Before the trip day, they sent me online check in and prepared the room ready according to my arriving time. The room was very clean and house keeping was very good, the breakfast were excellent, overall we had two days very good experience in Best Western.

"Below Best Western Standards"
Raymond S, 11 Novembre 2017

Heating system was loud. Noise from nearby highway made it difficult to sleep. Most important, the bed was much to small to sleep 2 adults. The breakfast and the service for that meal salvaged this disappointing stay.

"Do not distrib"
jeffreym524, 07 Novembre 2017

House keeping just enters the room after being told no housekeeping needed General manager is very rude after spending $1200 there we moved to a much nicer hotel a block away for the same price and received more respect from the hotel staff the breakfast is much better don't waste your time or money at best western springfield

"great stay!"
Evybrescia, 07 Novembre 2017

Everyone I encountered at this hotel was professional, helpful and friendly! The room was very clean. the continental breakfast had many options which was all wonderful. There was a small bag of treats in my room when I arrived with a couple of water bottles. There is free wifi and a gym as well. Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Overall a wonderful stay!

"Perfect"
tomikaMc, 03 Novembre 2017

We spent 3 night in this hotel.Room and bed size already OK. Hotel location perfect with car and subway you can reach easily Washington DC. Breakfast tipical american but try to offer various food day by day. We spent 3 night in

"Not the best"
Cpowe2015, 03 Novembre 2017

Not the most comfortable. Did not sleep well. Felt itchy the whole night in bed. Breakfast was the highlight. Good variety, for coffee and fresh yoghurt. Good value and neighborhood was nice. Seems like an older building.

"Good Economy Hotel"
fmccaffe, 02 Novembre 2017

The hotel is fine when looking for no frills The hotel is clean, the shower works, there is a pool, but it's fall so it's closed. The hotel doesn't have pictures, on the walls. The room has a single serve coffee maker. The staff is friendly, the one kitchen staff person was funny. There is a complimentary breakfast, basic fare, nothing to rave about, but absolutely fine. The maid service was a tad suspect. The one day the maid didn't show until I left for dinner. If you're looking for a basic and clean room, this is a go. For the money, it's a 5, if luxury, a 3 on a scale of 5, 5 being high.

"Good location, clean hotel, GREAT breakfast!"
firebirdluver, 29 Octobre 2017

Close to Metro station, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel is pretty good, the breakfast is great, the shuttle service is horrible. We spent over two hours of our vacation waiting for the shuttle. (It's less than a 10 minute ride to the Metro; they could have made several round trips in the time we waited).

"great rates and breakfast, high speed internet"
738mahat, 28 Octobre 2017

good speed for the internet, location is fine. Breakfast is above average and the staff is extremely friendly. The only thing is the shower faucet required a bit of force to pull out, but other than that, the accomodation is amazing for the rate offered.

"Average BW not up to standards I expected from a BW"
120evelynd, 26 Octobre 2017

The room was basic, clean and adequate but it was the first hotel that did not have a refrigerator in room. They said that it was a "standard" room that did not have this ammenity. Why was I not advised at time of booking. The shuttle hours were unsatisfactory on the weekend and we were not informed. Staff were reserved and woefully uninformed about the area and details of how to get around. They know nothing about the metro service. The worst part of my experience- that I was advised at check in that they would place a hold of $200 on my credit card and would not be returned to me until after 4 days. Outrageous!!! I have never had this experience.

"good value"
586bradn, 24 Octobre 2017

My stay was OK, but my TV must have had a bad cable. The walls are thin and had a noisy neighbor but they went to bed early so I was able to sleep. Good value, Nice Breakfast and good parking. Got the job done.

"What a wonderful surprise"
Brian S, 23 Octobre 2017

Ive spent a lot of time in Springfield, Virginia hotels over the last six months constantly avoiding the Best Western based on my opinions of the chain it self. Boy, was I wrong. All of my regular hotels were booked up so I booked what was the cheapest rate of all hotels and took a chance on the best Western in Springfield. Not only was the hotel centrally located to every major road, but it was clean, The parking lot was weed free, the pictures were trim the windows were clean and the front desk manager was so nice and generous. when I arrived he offered me free drinks and snacks went over everything about the hotel, thanked me for being a rewards member and gave me the room key. I was so wonderfully surprised by the clean new carpeting in the hallways fresh paint clean smells and when I got to the room was blown away by the hardwood floors, full amenities and incredibly comfortable beds. The electronics were new, the windows were clean and the bathroom was clean. it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had and I will no longer be staying in any other hotel in Springfield other than this one. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs to stay short or long term. We also ordered out for food which was delivered very quickly and they had an excellent selection of carry out and delivery restaurants.

"Good location, fine for 1 night"
LaurelMc, 14 Octobre 2017

We stayed here just for 1 night. It's in a good location, easy on and off 395, near a shopping mall and lots of restaurants. The hotel has been updated but think more needs to be done to make it a very good hotel, but that would increase the price which was very reasonable for this area. The breakfast buffet was great, actually served in what must have been a restaurant, old decor but large to accommodate a full hotel. Also, noticed the busy street noise even thought we were on the 5th floor, should have asked for a room on the other side of the street. The bed was comfortable.

"Great place"
707leonardc, 11 Octobre 2017

This was a very good Bestwestern! Everything about my stay was perfect. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Washington DC area. The breakfast was really good. The rooms were very clean. Over all a great stay!

"Very good stay when visiting Washington D.C. "
Yoram L, 10 Octobre 2017

We stayed 5 nights and we enjoyed it. The complementary breakfast was rich, fresh and very tasty. It is possible to go from Springfield to Washington D.C. with the blue metro and avoid the hassle of driving and parking. The only issue was the bed which was quite soft. So in my opinion this hotel is one of the most cost effective choice when visiting Washington D.C..

"Just okay..."
Tara L, 10 Octobre 2017

The outward appearance of the hotel left a lot to be desired. First, it was difficult to tell where the front door was. Since we couldn't directly tell, we had no idea where to park. The lobby was a very quaint area but the person working was nice. The overall outside appearance was outdated but inside the room itself seemed to be recently updated with laminate flooring throughout. The top linens looked nice but the ones under appeared worn and discolored, old. This hotel is positioned right under an overpass and our room looked right out at that overpass so we could hear the traffic. Our biggest issue was when I went into the bathroom and couldn't get out!! The door obviously had previous issues that weren't addressed and it happened that my closing the door was the final straw. When I went to leave the bathroom the part of the door that latches could not pass over the latch and so couldn't open. The bathroom was TINY so I quickly got claustrophobic and started panicking!! My boyfriend tried to open from the outside as I was trying from the inside. After a tremendous amount of him ramming the door and me trying to rip the door off the hinges, we got the dumb thing to open. A maintenance worker did come fix it right away but it was too late for me! Overall, we got an okay experience. We have stayed at several Best Westerns out west and because we had great experiences, we chose BW in VA. This one was not of the same quality as those we've been in before. Could we tolerate another stay here? Yes, but I'd probably look elsewhere first.

"DC trip"
John A, 09 Octobre 2017

The hotel was just south of Washington and had easy access to 395 to get to the sites we wanted to visit. The cost of the room for 4 nights did not exceed $300.00! The breakfast provided was very good except for the crowds of people. There was at least one day where it was just too crowded to get to the food and be able to sit down. Otherwise, we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself. Staff was good and took care of our needs.

"Less than expected"
Tina0579, 06 Octobre 2017

No fridge, and No safe in our room. One bed creaked badly A 45 minute wait at the train station for the shuttle to arrive after phoning, and then a second call. Good breakfast, though. Very helpful Thai lady.

"Great Hotel"
David W, 03 Octobre 2017

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very quiet and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Lots of choices. Easy access to visit DC. Room was clean and reasonably large for family of 3. I would recommend to friends and plan to stay here when in the area again

"A good value"
sNoProblem, 02 Octobre 2017

So our search for the best value for a three night stay in the Alexandria area led us to this Best Western on Commerce Ave in Springfield. We had stayed there a few years ago and weren't that impressed. However the listing on the web stated that it had been remodeled. So we thought that we would give it s try. On Trivago we learned that a reservation required a $200 "security" deposit. We then went to book the room on BW's web site where a security deposit was not required. ????? Upon checking in we were told that we would be billed $50 a night for "incidentals". When asked for details what this meant, the clerk said it was a damage deposit which was refunded 2 or 3 days after we checked out. Arriving at the room we found that the tv would not work and the toilet was clogged. TV was replaced that night but it took until Hugo the maintenance man used tools that Michael the night maintenance was either unable or unwilling to use that the problem was fixed. The bright star of our stay was Vondee the hostess at the complimentary breakfast buffet. Warm and hospitable, she started our mornings with a smile.

"Vacation to know D.C."
MarcoABCB, 01 Octobre 2017

Good option to sleep, quiet and clean. The room didn' have a good smell due to air conditioned, but not so relevant. The breakfast was good, some options but few varations. Basically it was the same every day. Could be better. The price could be better as well.

"Good hotel, good staff"
VenusDWino, 01 Octobre 2017

We had to stay in a hotel while our condo was being prepared to go on the market. This Best Western certainly fit our needs. The free shuttle to and from Metro was very important to us. The pool must be very nice when it's open, but we were staying after Labor Day and that is a hard close-date for pools in the DC metro area. Bed linens were smooth, cotton, smelled good (not "perfume-y" and the waffle weave blanket was perfect (wish I had one). We were put on the 5th floor which was ideal. I'd change 4 things: 1. Provide a desk chair that adjusts to the very high desk. Keyboarding on your laptop was made more difficult b/c the chair is SO low. 2. Provide more light. 3. Hang the art on the wall at eye level, not up close to the ceiling. 4. Offer non-sweet breakfast options, juices, fresh fruit of better quality. And lastly, give Erica at the front desk a raise!

"Not bad for the price"
779lyndas, 23 Septembre 2017

This economy hotel is a short drive to Franconia-Springfield Metro. It's a little hard to find the entrance to the hotel, and a portion of the parking lot is directly under a highway ramp, which was kind of interesting. It is clean, has good breakfast options, and the staff is nice. The rooms are fine for two people, fairly small for more than that. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when looking for a place to sleep. I would NOT stay here if I was planning to hang out or hold meetings. I didn't see space for anything like that.

"Comfortable room and great value"
Thomas B, 23 Septembre 2017

Was in town for business and needed a convenient hotel. The location is handy, right off the interstate. I was surprised that the interstate noise was not noticeable on my side of the hotel. The room was very clean, neat, and comfortable. It is obviously older, but in good condition with normal amenities. Little gift bag was a nice touch. Staff was polite and professional. Bed was comfortable. I got a great rest for a good price.

"Enjoyed my stay"
rachelpG8694GA, 21 Septembre 2017

Nothing fancy, but the room was clean. The staff was super friendly and easy to deal with. The breakfast was really good!! The beds were nice, a little less firm than i like but they were comfortable.

"Disappointed"
Joseph H, 21 Septembre 2017

Most Best Westerns are a great place to stay for service and comfort. The low toilet and lack of safety rails in the bathroom did not make this a Senior guest friendly place to visit. All aspects of the accommodations were fine. Employees were outstanding.

"Clean Hotel"
218betsyw, 19 Septembre 2017

Not a bad hotel very clean. Only issue was not having a working outlet by the mirror to dry hair nor did it have a complementary hair dryer on the wall as most hotels do. other than that it was a good stay.

"OK, but nothing special"
588kayep, 08 Septembre 2017

I booked a queen room, but ended up in what appeared to be a room with a double bed. The room was clean, but "tired." Some bathroom floor tiles were cracked, as was the sink. I did have a refrigerator and microwave -- something that wasn't guaranteed at the time of reservation -- so that was a bonus. I wasn't able to try the breakfast, as I had to checkout before it was offered. Overall, my stay was OK, but not worth what I paid.

"Such a Welcome Rest Stop"
Georgia Marie D, 29 Août 2017

This place is under construction & renovation, but the rooms that have been renovated are awesome! The pool is really nice as well. Shuttle to public transit from hotel. Really nice staff!!!! Great breakfast! Really "cooked" food! Wow!

"Totally undesirable!!"
Veronica A S, 21 Août 2017

Phone didn't work even though it was plugged into the wall, toilet didn't flush well and eventually got stopped up and staff in the hallway was extremely noisy at 1 am. Really didn't care for the wooden floors. Breakfast was very good. Will not stay there again or recommend it either.

"Mishaps at Best Western"
245mudassirn, 16 Août 2017

Our Room# 423 which was assigned to somebody else too and other family also sneak in while we were resting. ( double book) Best Western should contact Interior designers to re0disign the settings of the room. Rooms should be designed to make use of every possible item easily.

"Would not want to spend more than a couple of days here."
Parrotheadjoe, 14 Août 2017

This is not a terrible hotel, it's just got some wear and tear on it. The front staff was pleasant as well as the house keeping team and we had no issues with either of them. Though the property was clean, it did show signs of heavy use. Our bed was fairly comfortable and the linens smelled fresh. As with most properties that see a high turn over, the carpet and flooring was somewhat stained in our room and there was one very sticky spot between the wall and bed. I would give it a higher rating but the property is, to put it simply, average. Happy travels!

"great family place"
NAP37, 14 Août 2017

The hotel is elderly, but is being renovated. I had one of the renovated rooms and it was excellent. The daily breakfast had both hot and cold items including eggs, bacon, cereal, waffles, coffee and other cold drinks. The 2 ladies in the breakfast room were smiling, helpful, and knew their jobs. The check-in/check-out staff were professional and knowledgeable.

"Washington DC trip"
C S, 12 Août 2017

We had no qualms with our stay. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping were courteous and did an amazing job. We started our mornings with an excellent breakfast (and this food was good!) and came back every evening to a clean room and fresh towels. The motel itself is under renovation and I'm very excited to see the final results. Good luck and thank you for taking care of us. Your hard work did not go unnoticed!

"Great hotel"
Judith P, 10 Août 2017

The day before I arrived Ms. Joy called to confirm my reservation and inquired about any special accommodations. The day I arrived I was greeted by Ms. Stella. I requested the second floor due to past reviews stating that the 2nd floor renovations were completed. She called housekeeping and requested a clean room on the 2nd floor. The room was clean and deodorized. The following 3 day, my children and I ate complementary breakfast (6am-10am) which included: fresh waffles and pancakes, hot syrup, bagels, croissant, sliced bread, danish, muffins, eggs, bacon or sausage (rotation), potatoes, coffee, tea, cappuccino, hot chocolate, cereal and orange/apple/cranberry juice. The beverages and cereal are available 24 hours. The shuttle driver in the morning Ms. Abigail was a delight. The first day I took the shuttle, she made sure the seats were clean. We had great conversation and upon request she recommend a great place to eat (Cocorico - Peruvian). Request pick up from the Metro was never a long wait. Throughout my stay I was greeted by Ms. Erica, Ms. Joy and the entire front desk staff while going to pick up the available 24 hour beverages. Each person greeted me and inquired about my stay. I truly am happy with my trip. The first and best experience visiting Washington, DC. I am a real customer and I was not paid or given a discount for my review.

"Good for an overnight if traveling"
Bob D, 09 Août 2017

We selected this property because of its proximity to I-95 - we were traveling south. The entrance to the lobby was the smallest I had ever seen - I actually saw it after driving around the parking a lot a few times to try to find it! the lobby and restaurant are under one room but the rooms are in another building - a short walk but not indoors - rain and snow and cold weather would definitely create some problems. Fortunately we were there in the summer. The buffet breakfast was average. Not sure if I would stay here again despite the low room rate. You DO get what you pay for.

"Very bad experience"
jianl251, 08 Août 2017

We were shocked when we open the door at the first day check in because there was someone there already. And got shocked again there was same situation after staff change the room for us. Eventually, we got a room with spider and wrinkle, black dot sheets which looks like has been used for 10 years. The second day we were asked to check out and put all our family luggages in the car and check in again later afternoon. This time , we got a room without the spider but with new decoration material smelling......

"Very happy with the stay"
Coldgin_01, 06 Août 2017

We stayed here visiting DC for the first time. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and clean and the breakfast was great! They have a shuttle that will take you to the metro station close by and the nearest mall.

"Best Western Springfield, Springfield, VIRGINIA"
759armenk, 05 Août 2017

The night checkin staff were very unfriendly and were not accommodating. When I asked for AARP discount they looked at me like I was trying to cheat the hotel and asked me to produce my card. Much to their surprise, I showed them my card. They basically sent me away when I tried to give them my rewards card number. They sent me to their business computer and told me to enter it there with no guidance on how to do it and what web site to use.

"Awesome stay, I choose this hotel any time I want to get away."
bettyp846, 03 Août 2017

The staff was very friendly. Close to the mall and right off the highway which made it easily accessible to everything. Great amenities, breakfast was awesome and the hotel even through construction was very clean.

"Excellent Stay"
Mack0621, 02 Août 2017

Staff was extremely friendly and more than willing to help. Morning breakfast was the excellent. More selection than I have ever experienced for a free continental breakfast. Rooms were clean but starting to show their age, but the hotel was going through a complete renovation so believe this will be taken care of shortly. Excellent location, less than a mile from a large mall. Will definitely stay here in the future.

"Would probably stay again"
B7365OOnicolep, 29 Juillet 2017

We had an issue with check in. We arrived at 2:30 but didn't get a room until 5:00 which was very disappointing. However, other than that we enjoyed our stay the staff was very friendly & the room was clean.

"Construction work and Room Service"
margaretsW4596QI, 29 Juillet 2017

Drilling and hammering started at 715am I realize work needs to be done, but wait until 9am to start work. Also, room service was knocking on the door at 8am. If you are on vacation, you try to sleep in a bit, especially if you have been doing activities all day.

"Excellent value"
N3525ORjasonh, 26 Juillet 2017

Most reasonable rate for the Springfield/DC metro area, included breakfast is a plus as is the shuttle service to/from Metro Rail. The facility is undergoing renovation during my stay but the intrusion was minimal. A good size mall and shopping mall is near by and plenty of eating options. Overall, a hidden gem in the DC area.

"Bathrooms/Rooms"
Nichole H, 24 Juillet 2017

Rooms and bathrooms were a bit small but we made do. Also would have liked to see ice machines on all floors. Loved that there was a life guard on duty. Loved that we were able to gather in the breakfast area as a group to eat dinner or to hang out.

"Hotel upgrades"
Tykeshia H, 18 Juillet 2017

The hotel is a great location to get on and off the interstate. The Springfield Mall is near by. The hotel need patio covers for guest to protect them from the main building to get to their rooms. All rooms should have microwaves and refrigerator, you should not have to go to the main building. The drink machine need to have ice and a water spout. All guest do not want juice, water or coffee during breakfast. My card was submitted twice and I wasn't notified by the hotel of the error, I had to call them to notify them and have it resolved.

"Good hotel, great breakfast"
Jennifer V, 17 Juillet 2017

We were staying here for a week and it was pretty darn good! The staff was really friendly, there was a free shuttle service and an amazing breakfast 'buffet'. Even though they were renovating the building the place looked clean and they kept everything quiet! Super hotel!

"GOOD ROOM, GREAT BREAKFAST, AND ALL AT A REASONABLE PRICE"
garywU4158PY, 17 Juillet 2017

We stayed three nights. The room was clean, and I saw no bugs. The beds were comfortable, and cleaning staff did a fine job. There was plenty of hot water, and the pool was well maintained with a life-guard present during operating hours. THE BREAKFAST WAS AWESOME and delicious. My family and I were NOT disappointed. The staff were helpful and had good attitudes. The only issue we had was with our microwave.

"Very good"
Michelle C, 13 Juillet 2017

The service is excellent and the personnel very friendly and helpful. They are currently renovating which was sorely needed. You actually have to go outside to get to the lobby/breakfast area, which I find odd. Great breakfast choices including pancakes and waffles. They don't offer sugar-free syrup. The coffee is from a 'choose your hot drink' machine. I admit it does taste better that the brewed you get at other hotels. I didn't use the pool but all the kids there were happy!

"Great Stay in Springfield Va."
G2309ZPmichaelc, 12 Juillet 2017

Great location near interstate and Springfield-Franconia DC Metro station. Reasonable rates, clean comfortable rooms, nice outdoor pool and a great and plentiful breakfast included. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

"Bad smell. Run down."
Pamela W, 03 Juillet 2017

This is a terrible hotel. The room smelled awful. The whole place was run down. The tv didn't work and when I reported it, no one came to help. I will never stay at this hotel or any others in this chain again.

"it served the purpose"
Carolinemp56, 03 Juillet 2017

needed 3 nights for business in DC easy access to metro .beds were comfortable large breakfast variety .eggs and meats were tasteless. elevators were erratic dining area was poorly organized and did not flow well. would not recommend for a leisurely family vacation I felt like we were sleeping under the overpass

"Nice hotel"
dwilder21, 29 Juin 2017

Hotel is great for the value. Staff is friendly, nice breakfast with lots of choices, kids loved the pool, and only a mile away from the Springfield Metro so it's easy to get to Washington DC. Plenty of parking and hotel offers shuttle service.

"Dirty, sewer smells and bedbugs"
David H, 29 Juin 2017

The hotel is quite dirty and run down. Our first room had very wet carpet and a strong sewer/mold smell. Our second room had bedbugs. Running water was frequently unavailable. The building overall is in general disrepair/filth. Unfortunately, the management does not take customer health or safety seriously. Rather than address their issues they choose to avoid/ignore customers. The desk staff are apparently unable to reach the manager on the premises and he does not return/answer phone calls.

"Ok service"
angelsX9228FV, 27 Juin 2017

Hotel looked great staff service kinda sucked security guard had to go look for person at front desk security officer was kinda rude the pool was amazing and the breakfast was kinda good had lots to choose from

"Good value"
Sy_mobiletech, 27 Juin 2017

Older building with few amenities and services. Great staff that tries to do their best and keeps the place clean. Needs updating and at least a microwave at minimum in each unit. Although they did let you use the dining area 24/7, you would have to walk all they way down to reheat any food... Good and hot breakfast, but quality was average. Overall stay was worth the value.

"Excellent location"
corky1948, 26 Juin 2017

The easy access to D.C. and surrounding areas is a big plus! The price is a real bargain. The breakfast is a minimal success but overall I would say this is a great choice for someone visiting the area. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby if you have a car. The parking is plentiful. The pool looked great and it was the first hotel I've seen that actually has a lifeguard on duty, which is great if you have kids with you. They are remodeling some of the floors but I didn't find it any inconvenience as we came and went.

"Nice, close to malls"
juanclima2016, 22 Juin 2017

Good for price/quality, nice staff, close to great malls and Washington DC area. rooms are clean and bed are good enough to rest. The hall was quite smelly to chemical cleaning products but nothing that bad... Pool was amazing

"Great location"
Lenora B, 21 Juin 2017

The staff was courteous and friendly. The hotel is located near I-95, I-395, and I-495 intersection. But the noise level is not a problem. The breakfast buffet is very nice and dining area pleasant. We enjoyed our long weekend stay here.

"Very convenient for access to DC"
jennifervJ8373PJ, 21 Juin 2017

The room was comfortable & clean. The breakfast was plentiful and varied daily. The shuttle to the metro station was prompt & easily attainable. The staff was polite, personable, and welcoming. I liked that the pool had a lifeguard on duty!

"Affordable in D.C. area"
M88CYkatherineb, 17 Juin 2017

My sons have nut allergies, and the breakfast attendant was happy to show us the box for a breakfast item so that I could read the ingredient label. A change in travel plans led us to check out a day early, and the hotel refunded us our unused night with no trouble.

"Overall I would reccomend to anyone!!!"
Angela T, 15 Juin 2017

Great place to stay worth the money. I would recommend anyone to stay here you will be happy. The breakfast was amazing and it was all included in your stay. Check the hotel out if you are in the area!

"Bad customer care and lack of cleaning of the rooms"
L7570SRvanessaf, 15 Juin 2017

The room was terrible had to be changed rooms took pictures blood on the beds water damage to the entertainment center the mini fridge look like it had been beat on plenty of dents and marks the air conditioner has never been cleaned it was the worst part other than the blood on both beds and had to be moved rooms and the water is either ice cold or scalding hot no in between

"Convenient Location"
320cheric, 10 Juin 2017

This hotel is right near the Metro Rail into DC as well as a beautiful mall. I felt safe and there were lots of choices around the area for dining. We went three blocks to the railway station and hopped the train to DC. It was about 25 mins into downtown and so convenient.

"Disappointed"
522lynna, 07 Juin 2017

I book four room and was told that the double room would be connecting so the family could be together. I was never told about a 200 hold if we paid cash instead of credit care. The general manager was the person that checked me in and he was rude and unprofessional. He need to work on his customer service skills. I was very patience and try to fix the problem with no help from him. He was just trying to find out who I talk to so he could get on the employee because they should not have told me that he stated.

"Outstanding"
168virginiah, 06 Juin 2017

The staff was really nice. Room was comfy and the breakfast was simply amazing. Was in the area for my brothers retirement from the Army it felt like home away from home. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the SpringField, VA area

"Rolling Thunder"
JTF6994, 30 Mai 2017

2017 marked the 12th year for me staying at this hotel for Memorial Day weekend to be in DC to honor all veterans. 8 years ago I met dozens of Veterans at this hotel from the U.S. and Canada that served the U.S. from WWII through present day. We have all made this an annual event and stayed at the Springfield Best Western usually booking more than 30 rooms. This year when my Canadian friends arrives they were told that they only had rooms for 1 night, even with documentation that their 19 rooms were reserved for 3 days. The hotel management refused to honor their documented reservations and forced them all out. We discovered that the hotel still had enough vacant rooms to accommodate them all, but had increased the prices approx. $55. per night. My Canadian VETERAN friends, many served in the U.S. Armed Services in Vietnam, and traveled a great distance, and we're all turned away. This practice is the most despicable and disrespectible act I've ever seen from a business, especially toward a veteran. Boycott Best Western.

"Mold in bathroom"
RebeccaPirate, 28 Mai 2017

The service was nice and the bedroom was nice as well. But the bathroom, I found mold on the ceiling, on top and side of the door frame. You couldn't see it on the door frame unless you look into the corners of it. That's not healthy what so ever and they need to get this clean.

"Good for 8th Grade Trip - Small glitch for chaperones."
Kathy M, 28 Mai 2017

We have stayed here for several years in a row, and it's really the perfect stop for an 8th grade class. It's allowed us to be near enough to both DC and Mount Vernon for those tours. It also has entrance doors on either ends, with a keycard, so we don't have to enter through a lobby. They have a really good breakfast setup in individual rooms in the basement for the kids, with great food, plenty of protein and carbs, eggs, fruit, cereal, breads. On this trip, however, all of the chaperones room's keycards were deactivated after the first day. So when we returned to the hotel, on our second night's stay, the kids had all managed to get in to the hotel and we ended up being locked out. We got into the hotel, soon enough, but were locked out of our rooms. This includes the nurse, who had all of the kid's medications. It was remedied pretty quickly, but still frustrating. Regardless, we do really like this hotel, very accessible from 95, nice rooms with microwaves and fridges, very clean, and the breakfast is a great perk. We will definitely return!

"not that good"
Elas L, 27 Mai 2017

the check in was the worst we where arriving from 6 hour long road trip she made us wait two hours in the lobby we checked in at 6 while check in is at 3 because the room was not ready. that is it.they want this to be two hundred words and i do not have any extra comments to add so ignore this part.

"Worst experience"
Kufa D, 24 Mai 2017

Nothing to say about front desk staffs they are the worst they charged me 2x after I found from my bank statements I made call. Put me 3x for 20 minutes didn't try to explain I tried multiple times with out success finally I called my bank and the promised to take care

"8th Grade D.C.Trip"
Lanie110, 22 Mai 2017

Stayed here with a group of ninety-eight 8th graders and had an average to above- average experience. Overall, the hotel was exactly what you would expect from a Best Western....average rooms and average amenities. Having said that, one group of four female students had a toilet that over flowed in their room. Maintenance was in their room to fix the problem within moments. We couldn't have been happier with how quickly staff responded to repair the issue. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. We will absolutely be staying at this hotel again.

"Perfect and practical digs for a city visit"
Z561NJandreal, 21 Mai 2017

After some slight confusion identifying the location of the lobby, the rest of our stay only confirmed our thoughts of coming back this Best Western for our next DC excursion. The staff is what makes it wonderful. They were welcoming, helpful and kind, and from what I saw, treated all customers with the same respect.

"WORST WESTERN HOTEL"
James S, 07 Mai 2017

They should remove the word "Best" from this hotel. The carpet in the room looked so dirty, they should throw it out. Bed was lumpy and not comfortable. Wife did not feel safe at this location. Hot water was inconsistent and the bathroom fan was noisy. Halls need to be updated. The hotel pool looked like a cesspool.

"Disappointed"
C587QProbertk, 02 Mai 2017

Too many little things were not satisfactory. Poor directions, clogged bathroom sink, no TV channel listing in room (Previous BW did have in-room channel list), lousy eggs at breakfast. Staf was nice although not able to rpovide accurate directions to hotel from nearby locations.

"A conveient and comfortable place to stay"
jamesmD8744GJ, 02 Mai 2017

I've stayed at this hotel multiple times and never have had a bad experience. Room are clean and comfortable, staff is professional and deals with any issues quickly. Great value for anyone visiting the D.C, area, and convenient to both the highways and the Metro.

"Pleasant hotel"
Donald A, 29 Avril 2017

Good location, excellent breakfast, pleasant staff. It was easy access to the highway and several good restaurants in the area. Could use a little cosmetic updating, but overall not bad. The lobby area was small, but breakfast area was very roomy and pleasant with a full array of beverages and hot and cold offerings.

"Not Happy"
Eileen S, 28 Avril 2017

When I travel, I always do my research on the hotel or b&b that I am considering. I had to do a lot of research for this trip to D.C. because I was going to be there during spring break. Since I was going to be there for 7 days, I didn't want to spend a hugh amount on the hotel, but I wanted a place that was clean and comfortable. I searched first for places in Maryland and D.C., but they were charging too much. There were quite a few that I will consider when my stay is for 3-4 days. Since I had a rental car, I looked in Virginia. I was happy to find Best Western Springfield for a good price and it was near I-95. When I arrived around 7 pm, I was tired from driving all day. I had planned to pay for my room in cash at the end, but with a credit card hold at the beginning. I was told that not only did I have to pay up front, but needed to add a $200 refundable deposit. When I questioned the clerk about this because this has never happen to me before, he called the manager from the office. The manager said this was the hotel policy. Since I didn't want to use all of my cash up front, I decided to put it on my debit card. I gave the debit card to the manager and he entered the information into the computer. He then told me that my card was declined. I knew I had more than enough money in my account, so there was a problem. He entered the card info again and it was still declined. I did have my credit card, but had not planned on using it, I then gave it to the manager so that I could get my room. There were 4 luggage carriers stacked up against the wall. Neither one of the male employees offered to get one for me to use. I called their attention to it and said that I couldn't take a carrier off the pile. Slowly, the clerk came from around the desk to get one for me to use and followed me out to my car to get the rest of my luggage. When I got to my room, I noticed that the refrigerator and microwave were not there. I decided to deal with that in the morning. The room was not updated, it had the large noisy heat/air unit under the window. Breakfast is served in the building where you check in, separate from the building which houses the rooms. The ladies who serve breakfast were very friendly and helpful. While at breakfast, I decided to call my bank to find out why my card was declined. The account manager could see where my card had been declined twice because the expiration date was wrong. The manager had entered 08/19 instead of 07/19. When I finished breakfast, I talked to the Accounting Manager who was behind the counter, and explained my situation. He didn't understand why the manager from the night before had entered the numbers manually when all he had to was swipe the card. I asked if he could cancel the credit card charge and put the charges on my debit card like I wanted to do in the first place. He did so and swiped my card and there were no problems. He gave me a copy of my charges and what he had done. I then asked about the refrigerator and microwave, since they are in the website picture of the room the room that I got. He called and ordered them to be put in my room. I went out for a few hours and when I returned, my door was ajar. Thinking that housekeeping was in the room, I called out as I entered. No one was there! My room was open with all of my belongings there! I called the front desk to inform them what had happened. There was a short apology, but I never heard what had happened or received an apology from the manager. Needless to say that I won't be recommending this place to family and friends.

"Home away from home"
June A, 27 Avril 2017

Very professional staff, the location was great for us.Samona the front desk person was great perfect for the job .The manager was sitting right there in front of the office with the door open did not even say anything or show a little gesture will be better if he can give the guest a little gesture that guest are welcome in his place.other than that everything was good.

"Excellent!!!"
allisonc985, 25 Avril 2017

Superb experience. All hotels should take notes from BW Springfield and learn from them!!! From the moment I walked in the lobby, until the moment I left, I had a smile on my face. Staff is extremely polite and helpful, service is extraordinary, rooms are spotless, beds are comfy. What more can you ask for?

"The price is this hotel's best feature"
RobertJF57, 25 Avril 2017

There are 2 good reasons for staying at this hotel. One is the price and the other is the convenience to I95. After that there is little to recommend it. While the hotel is clean and the staff pleasant, the building and its surroundings are ugly. The cramped location put my room facing an elevated highway on ramp. Other possible views are not much better. Strangely the hotel office and restaurant are not attached to the hotel building! As a result you must venture outside to go from one to the other. Not much fun in inclement weather. There is no main entrance to the hotel. You either enter through a small side door and then walk through a stairwell to access the first floor hall and the elevators, or you can use the larger door facing the swimming pool. This is more convenient but on this day a garden hose was stretched across the sidewalk, creating a trippping hazard. My room was ok, but featured a claustrophobic bathroom barely large enough for the tub and toilet. It measures about 6 by 6 feet with a 7 foot ceiling. The sink is outside in the main room. Breakfast was mediocre, and the food offerings played hide-and-seek, for they were tucked in various corners of a restaurant building not originally designed to be a cafeteria. For some things you must walk into what initially appears to be an employee only area. The former main entrance is permanently closed, and everyone must squeeze through a small side door, through which only one person can pass at a time. To sum up it is a decent place to spend a night, but nothing more. If you are looking for a hotel that is a destination, and not just a place to sleep, go somewhere else.

"GREAT ROOM, GREAT STAFF!"
Randy K, 20 Avril 2017

Stayed here while attending meetings for 3 days in the area. The hotel, and my room were very clean. The fitness room was great for cardio, and the FREE breakfast was much more than I expected. What a GREAT stay and GREAT staff. Will definitely stay if my travels bring me back to this area.

"Coach driver"
tobygb, 18 Avril 2017

No Fox News however they do have CNN...hmmmm tv's are flat screen however the pictures aren't HD...rooms are clean and the location is convenient for DC. Not being able to catch up on what is going on in the world, well I'd compare this place to United, they just don't get it..

"Comfortable, clean, good location"
Mark B, 12 Avril 2017

Luxurious , instantly hot showers. Comfy beds. Near restaurants. Minutes from D.C. But half the price. Traveling into D.C. From here we were treated to a mini tour of the monuments. It really is a delightful drive into the city. Breakfast was good. I only give 5 stars if there is a bar/restaurant on site. But this is a very nice choice.

"If you like breakfast, great hotel!"
amelias565, 01 Avril 2017

Rooms are decent, clean, and comfortable. Staff is curtious and helpful. Its the breakfast that is so great about this hotel though!! Better than any other hotel I stayed at. The variety was great, the food was good, and staff kept up on making sure it was stocked. Good traveling experience at this hotel!!

"Very good for the price"
skp201, 27 Mars 2017

I didn't check the review before I booked the hotel because I was in a hurry. But I was so surprised by the service and quality of this hotel. Staff at the front desk was so friendly. They offered free choice of gifts to us. Everything was good except it took us a little time to find the front desk when we first arrived because it was separated from the main building and I wish they put up a sign to help people find it.

"Long day of Travel"
harryhD6435EE, 27 Mars 2017

After a long day of driving it was good to find a clean affordable hotel and room. Employees were helpful and the breakfast was good. Quite a lot of items on the breakfast menu. One glitch, tried to pay bill with another credit card other than the one used for holding the room, however original card was charged. Was told by staff they could not do anything about it as card was already charged.

"Old but decent value"
RayP2739VH, 03 Mars 2017

Good breakfast but small room. Had been updated except mattress sagged. Tight space, low ceilings due to age of building. Small lobby and pleasant breakfast room was in a separate building requiring you to go outside. Breakfast was best part of stay.

"Relaxing shower"
Triniarima, 28 Novembre 2016

The staff are awesome in getting me settled and familiar to the environment. Not a social hotel, you get in sleep and go about your business. But when you are in, the shower is an awesome deal and so is the internet. Breakfast is awesome too, no regrets having breakfast there. The downside, the building interior sure does need a face lift, layer of paint on the frames, constant repair folks throughout, door card reader takes you a while to let you in, and elevator service has it interruptions. Just don't put the key card near your phone. In all, not a terrible experience if you just want to find a quite place to sleep, with hot showers, and awesome breakfast.

"Be aware"
stvjhonva, 01 Novembre 2016

A drug dealers center? There was police activity at the hotel. All kinds of weird guests. This is not your family-friendly or peaceful vacation type of place. It is not really conveniently located either.

"Worst Hotel Stay Ever"
Elizabeth H, 25 Octobre 2016

I have never wanted to write a review more than I do today. I stayed at the Best Western in Springfield Va for 8 days. On the day on check in I am informed that if I want to pay cash it will be an extra $200, so I find a bank where I can put the money back in my account as I am not going to pay you an extra $200 for paying cash. I the get checked in and am told if my room smells like smoke from my clothes they are going to charge me an extra $400. I then get into my room and it smells like someone just went to the bathroom in there. I go back to the front desk and they change my room. In the 8 days I am there housekeeping came to my room a total of 3 times. I emptied my garbage in the hall garbage can and had to go to the front desk to get additional towels. The elevator broke 3 times in the 8 days I was there and on one night the entire floor I was on smelt like drugs. I also had to get my key card redone a total of 7 times while I was there. It comes with free wifi which does not work. I was there for work and to look at homes as I am relocating to the area after the 1st of the year. I had to stay at work late every night and go in on the weekend just to use the internet as it did not work at the hotel. This hotel was not worth the money I paid them to stay there. I will never stay at a Best Western again.

"A good stay"
Armin F, 21 Octobre 2016

It's a bit old design where breakfast is served but overall it's a great experience it's a small hotel with great staff conservice the hotel entrance is unassuming but as you go through the door you're greeted by a friendly staff Mirna.

"Stay away !"
johnmichael212009, 21 Octobre 2016

Never book this hotel threw a 3rd party vendor . If you do you will pay 100 plus dollars to the vendor and 200 dollars to the hotel . They claim they will put the money back on your card after check out . Its been 7 days and nothing . I don't care about holds etc but to deal with that and a run down trashy hotel . No thanks ! I come to the area for work about once a month and have stayed at all the local hotels and this one is BY FAR the WORST . None of the other hotels have a 200 dollar deposit and I book all of these hotels with 3rd party vendors . Stay away and if YOU CANT BOOK THREW THE HOTEL DIRECTLY . NO DEPOSIT IF YOU DO THAT.

"Not so good, but cheap"
????? ?, 20 Octobre 2016

Advantages: cheap hotel; good breakfast; location near shopping centers and restaurants; parking. Disadvantages: not very helpful reception; door's room opens only from the fifth attempt; internet needs to reconnect every two minutes (!); very narrow bed for two people.

"Manager cost this a 5 star rating"
watercop, 18 Octobre 2016

Everyone and mean everyone (especially Yasmine, Bri, cassif, and Abigale) would make this hotel a 5 or more star hotel easily. [Please excuse the spelling of the names. I know they aren't right, but you know who you are]. The manager is the only reason I don't give this a 5 star rating. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel or the people who do the work. The manager's face would break if he smiled. One night I asked if they would sell me a stamp. I was told there are stamps in the office and the manager had them. The next morning the manager's response was, "We don't do that." Well, I don't give 5 stars to a manager who can't be polite or even smile. I think I heard him say hello once in 4 days. The man has the personality of a brick. There is such a contrast between the staff and the manager. I think we stayed in 10 different hotels on this trip. This one had the best staff of all.

"Reasonably priced accommodations, convenient location. If leaving room late, call front desk"
PGuarda, 17 Octobre 2016

We just spent Thu-Sun at this hotel. Being close to DC, room and bathroom are small but comfortable. Breakfast changed offerings every day and it was plentiful - coffee and juice machines are great. Even though it is very close to a big highway interchange, we were not bothered by road noise. We did have a couple of problems: our magnetic keys needed to be replaced every day, even though I kept them away from my any magnetic source. On our first morning we kept the "Do not disturb" sign until 10:30 or so. When leaving our room we saw a housekeeper still working on other rooms so we thought that our room would be eventually made. When we returned in the evening, it had not been done, no towels changed. The front desk told us that we had to call them to alert them about a late room exit. Anyhow, this was not a major issue and our room was properly service during the rest of our stay.

"A Mixed Review"
Perkolator, 14 Octobre 2016

This was our first visit to this facility, and we stayed 6 nights. We had made prior reservations for 4 nights, but plans changed, and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. I've given this six-story hotel something of a mixed review. It is an older facility, and has been retrofitted to some extent to accommodate ADA requirements for handicapped accessibility. The roll-in shower was accommodated at the expense of the bedroom. There is a queen-sized bed, which looked a little “lumpy,” but was surprisingly comfortable. There was not enough room between the foot of the bed and the unit housing the refrigerator, microwave, etc. to get the wheel-chair through, so that my wife was confined to the door side of the room. There was a square table in the corner of the room next to the window which served as both table and desk. It was so close to the afore-mentioned unit that there was insufficient room for the desk chair, so using the “desk” required sitting in front of the air-conditioning unit under the window, and again my wife was confined to the other side of the bed, so had to watch TV from the bed. There was some issue with the wi-fi, and it kept kicking computer off. It was usually possible to re-establish contact, but sometimes had to wait a while. There was also some sort of issue with the card keys. They would sometimes let us into the building, but not into the room. I had to go to the office 4 times during our 6 night stay to get the cards re-coded. But breakfast – oh my, what a spread! There was both a waffle maker and a pancake maker. They had eggs and bacon, sometimes eggs and sausage, biscuits & gravy, and of course, the normal Danish, bagels, oatmeal, juices, coffee, tea, milk, yogurt, etc. There was also an array of toppings such as raisins, brown sugar, and fresh chopped fruit including strawberries, melons, grapes, and dried pineapple! Needless to say, few guests skipped the breakfast! On the weekend, there was quite a wait to get a table. There was really insufficient seating room to accommodate the guests in a six-story hotel in a reasonable time, but the wait was worth it, and the people working the kitchen were outstanding!

"Nice Stay"
Jermaine G, 02 Octobre 2016

I stayed at this location from 28th Sep through 3rd of Oct 2016. Coming from Hawaii to here was a great drain. Once I got here, the clerk got me checked in really fast and I was in my room in no time. Once I got to the room, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. They do need to update their showers. The door and key also needs to be updated as well. Overall it was pretty good stay. I would stay again.

"Poorly maintained"
g0urangab, 27 Septembre 2016

Bathroom was not cleaned. Air condition was noisy. Elevator was not working. Potential customers need to look the inside of the room. Although price is compatible and location is good, quality of the hotel was not good like othr best western.

"Highly recommended"
Leo F, 17 Septembre 2016

This Hotel, its staff and surroundings were all of the most excellent quality, and I'd recommend it to any travelers in this area....or for someone if they were intending to stay for a length of time.

"Slum"
lodhe, 14 Septembre 2016

Shuttle service from metro is terrible. Room keys don't work, elevator out, air unit sounds like a jet taking off and does not cool, sink is clogged, toilet clogged, have not cleaned room in three days, sink water hot and cold is backward, manager lost credit card billing sheet charged us twice, bed has huge dip in it, desk has no chair, liquid stains running down walls, I have seen several mattresses being taken out of rooms, this is just a gross slum hotel not worth what ever I have caught from it for the savings.

"Nice Hotel"
L2646YGanthonyt, 12 Septembre 2016

We stayed overnight at this hotel so we would be on time for the Auto Train. Staff were all very nice and helpful. The breakfast was terrific. Had the regular fare for included breakfast, with a little bit more. Room was very clean as were the entire premises.

"Great Experience"
Chalice T, 26 Août 2016

The location was great. Close to freeway. Easy access to many restaurants and a mall. Signage in area was good...beat Google maps. Swimming pool well maintained with a lifeguard. Very refreshing. Check in was a little slow. Breakfast was the best I've ever seen. Great selection and presentation. Seating was ample and comfortable. plenty of parking. One of two elevators was out of order. slight inconvenience. Evidence of ongoing upkeep to the facility was uplifting.

"Home away from home."
SJW_Leader, 23 Août 2016

The staff is what made this hotel great. Nevermind the good breakfast option, including the coffee machine that makes really good (for a machine) mochas. Clean, quiet, safe, easy access to restaurants, shopping, highways and a free shuttle ride to a nearby metro station. I strongly recommend considering this hotel.

"great staff."
wayned261, 22 Août 2016

The hotel is next to a major highway but I never heard a sound. Easy access to and from, Great friendly staff. A VERY busy traffic area but that comes with this area (not the hotels fault). If I ever go back to this area I would stay here again.

"HOLE IN THE CEILING!"
Noelle S, 05 Août 2016

Besides the numerous other issues we had with this place. A leak in our ceiling that we complained about the first day turned into a full blown 6 inch hole in the bathroom ceiling by and around the light fixture that was very obviously done by a person attempting to check it by the third day Practically flooding our bathroom, soaking our stuff and almost causing me to hurt myself from slipping. As an avid Best Western lover, I will NEVER return to this hotel.

"Basic Comfortable"
MARCUS G, 25 Juillet 2016

This hotel is a little older and could use some modernization. The staff could also use some better training. The agent that checked me in did not know what to do and relied on the manager on duty for a large amount of help. There were some good things, the hotel serves a hot breakfast every morning with a selected few items and some cold items. The hotel could use an update to the facilities and bedding. One major issue is the elevators are constantly out, and it was inconvenient when staying on upper floors. The double beds were small and the headboard were lower than in the pictures. The value you pay is okay for the area. The hotel is very close to the shopping mall and restaurants. It is also right off of the interstate for travelers who are just passing through. The hotel is cleaned very well despite the age. The hotel also offers a free shuttle from the nearby metro station for guest who want to go into town and not worry about driving. Make sure you check the fridge to see if it works because the one in my room was out. As many other reviews stated, please be sure that you can cover the incidentals fee. That was a major inconvenience.

"Don't Stay Here!!! Especially if you book through a booking service!!"
Andy P, 24 Juillet 2016

I booked my stay through Hotels.com. Upon arriving they asked for my credit card to put a $200 hold for "incidentals" even thought the room was paid in full in advance. I can understand having a number on file but not holding a charge for $200!! That would have taken all of our money to eat on. At the same time there was a man at the other end of the counter complaining that he stayed there over a week ago and that $200 still had not been released back to his card 8 days AFTER check-out. He was out of money. I had the manager come down and explained that I had no idea to be prepared for another $200 deposit, and he said I had two options. put down the deposit or find another hotel. I did not have the money for another hotel room OR the deposit, we were up there for a funeral at Arlington Cemetery. At that point we were in his office when he received ANOTHER call from another customer complaining about the same thing the man at the counter was, that he did not get his deposit back. At this point the manager said to us, "'There is nothing more I can do right now, I have to go check rooms..." REALLY??? Three customers complaining and you are walking away from all of us? Anyway, I proceeded to go back out front and starting getting water dripping from the ceiling in the lobby. The staff placed a DEAD potted plant on the floor at that point to stop the water from saturating the rug, which was pretty filthy. I pulled out my phone and called Hotels.com and explained the situation to them. After about 20 minutes, and a call to the hotel by them to verify this, Hotels.com moved our reservation to Motel 6 in Springfield. The staff there was incredibly accommodating! Anyway, upon leaving, I asked them to call the manager back down so that I could have a word with him before we left. After a 4-5 minute wait he came back in. We went into his office, and I told him I had been in business management for over 30 years, and I have NEVER walked away from a customer without somehow resolving a problem. He then lied to me saying he offered me the option to waive fees, etc. at which point I called him on it, called him a liar, and said that this would all be reported to Best Western. A friend was with me the entire time and could not believe the shenanigans this crooked so-called manager was trying to pull. Photos of the leak, flower pot, and a full report have been sent to Best Western Corporate as well. Don't waste your time, efforts, or money on this filthy, crooked, corrupt place.

"Cheap i sall I can say!!"
Keith D, 22 Juillet 2016

Dirty room, make sure you can afford the $200.00 refundable deposit when you check in. Very nosey and the ac was very loud. So far not impressed and will not stay here again. Close to shopping and metro.

"Undisclosed security deposit, leaky roof, horrible management attitude"
emphrogs, 21 Juillet 2016

Prepaid the room through Hotels.com but upon arrival was informed that an additional $200 deposit was also required. This was not disclosed when room was booked, and hotel "manager" (a title used VERY loosely) said it could not be waived under any circumstances. While standing at the hotel desk complaining to the manager, another customer was also there complaining that his "fully refundable" $200 deposit had not yet been refunded although he had chosen to move to another hotel five days earlier. While trying to solve this situation rainwater was dripping from the ceiling onto the lobby carpet, unsuccessfully being contained in the large pot of a dead plant which had been moved to the middle of the lobby floor. After a heated discussion with the "manager", who turned his back on me and walked away in order to "go check rooms", Hotels.com came to the rescue by arranging for a room in a different hotel. The attitude of the front desk staff, and the manager, was horrible.

"DO NOT STAY HERE"
Diana W, 21 Juillet 2016

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. The staff is unprofessional & the toilet flooded the room. Outlets didn't work. We were moved to another room and the door had to be opened manually and the toilet once again flooded. SAVE YOUR $!!!!!!

"Seek else where"
Sheila W, 21 Juillet 2016

It may have been computer error, or gross negligence. As I was checking in 5 families were complaining that they had been giving keys to rooms already occupied. The manager was polite but looked very frazzled. I quickly cancelled my stay. As I was leaving more were coming in to complain. I ended up staying at Homewood suites.

"Out of service elevator"
Bill L, 20 Juillet 2016

The facility's rooms occupy a long rectangular building with an elevator at either end. Our room was on the 5th floor on the end of the building where the non-working elevator was located. This necessitated walking the hallway to get the elevator and walking back to access the room. Even with that problem left out of the evaluation, the hotel was an average ordinary facility with nothing to make it outstanding or memorable. The "wow factor" was totally absent.

"Terrible customer service - don't stay here!"
Mo Q, 17 Juillet 2016

The customer service is terrible. I waited for the "free shuttle" from the Metro for more than 30 minutes. It didn't turn up, even though I called the hotel reception twice. In the end I had to get a taxi. When I got to the hotel the staff informed me I had to make a $200 down payment because I was an Expedia customer - even though I'd already paid for my stay in full online. Then the staff told me I had to wait for a room to be cleaned before I could check in - even though it was 30 minutes after the check-in time, and they were checking in other customers while I was waiting - clearly there were plenty of clean rooms already available. When I finally got to my room there were no towels. Also, the elevator isn't working, the vending machine isn't working, my room is right next to a noisy freeway and I can hear the traffic....all I can say is that this hotel is not worth staying at.

"Cheap prices"
Karen P, 05 Juillet 2016

The bathrooms had mold on the walls. Some of the furniture was broken. There were not enough outlets for charging your devices. The one good thing was the cheap prices; you get what you pay for. The hotel is close to the metro, which was the main reason we chose it.

"Good deal"
Inga P, 30 Juin 2016

This hotel was a pretty good deal and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The first room assigned had a chemical cleaner odor and when we informed the front desk, we were immediately give another room. The breakfast was okay, better than many complimentary breakfasts and the pool looked inviting.

"Dont stay at Springfield Best Western"
David B, 23 Juin 2016

This hotel falls way below the level of the Best Western Brand, they should rent rooms by the hour, only I am not sure those clients would stay there either. The staff was rude and confused, sent me to a room with a lady already sleeping in it, couldn't figure our which rooms were available, the hotel is falling apart, very poor condition, Did I mention how bad the staff was ? My first ever post, but they have me that motivated ;-(

"No heart"
Angela Y, 19 Juin 2016

I have been staying at this hotel for business purposes nearly every other week for the past 2 years because of its location and low price. Unfortunately, I have seen extreme staff turnover, especially with the general manager position. Whenever the owner hires what I experience as helpful, caring staff, these people either leave on their own or are terminated within weeks (sometimes days). The rooms have old carpeting and old lamps. There are places in the rooms that have never been cleaned (behind furniture for example). Breakfast includes powdered eggs (which I think are absolutely awful). The fresh bananas and oranges were replaced with a canned fruit mixture (also not appetizing). Coffee in breakfast room and lobby is not freshly brewed and put in carafes; instead it comes out of a single serve machine (using instant coffee), although there are multiple choices such as lattes or cappuccinos. Even though I am a platinum level reward member for Best Western, I do not get any of the perks upon check-in. Also, my credit card is charged the full price of my stay before I even arrive at hotel for check-in.

"DC Vacation"
Linconites, 16 Juin 2016

Convenient location for a wedding and travel into DC. Staff is very friendly. Rooms very comfortable, but our room keys didn't work and they had to find us another room. Breakfast selection has a lot of variety, but average in quality. "Business center" = 2 computers, but only one works and a guest doing grad school homework on the other until late at night when we needed to check into our flights, Desk didn't seem to mind. Wifi is average, server unresponsive.

"Convenient"
Louis I, 02 Juin 2016

The location is near Washington, D.C. and therefore convenient for tourists. It is also close to the North-South Autotrain station which takes you to the Orlando, FL area. We always stay at this location when in the area

"Hotel"
Miguel P, 31 Mai 2016

Overall the stay at Best Western was average, the free breakfast is a lousy benefit, the items were cold and the place was not kept up. So for breakfast use a different location. The Maid Service was outstanding, the room was clean every time we came back, we stayed for three nights. The Life Guard at the pool did her duties in an outstanding performance. She checked the concentration frequently to ensure the chemical were maintain also had all the guest follow procedures. Thank You

"Clean and inexpensive"
Joyce B, 22 Mai 2016

We went on a family trip. There were 5 of us and we had 2 rooms. We picked this hotel because it was in close proximity to Washington DC and it was a price we could afford. Rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable. Continental Breakfast was great, not just bagels and muffins, they had eggs, bacon, waffles, toast, cereal, juices, yogurt..a really great spread. The hotel it self is has out dated decor, but like I said it was clean, just run down. My only issue was with the Free Shuttle that can take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. It runs from 7am till 9:45pm. The Metro to get into DC takes about 1 hour depending where you are going and what time you leave. Now in order to get the shuttle back to the hotel you have to leave DC by 8:30pm at the latest in order to catch the shuttle. That does not leave you time in DC to have dinner or enjoy the night life at all. I think the shuttle hours should be extended until at least 11pm or even later for travelers. Just and FYI to take a cab from the Metro station to the hotel is $11.00 for a 3 min ride and to walk it takes about 30 mins and it is along side major highways, I would not recommend it at night...very scary! All in all a good value hotel that needs some updating.

"Clean and comfortable."
odonna56, 21 Mai 2016

This was not a luxury hotel, but needed something in Springfield and most hotels were booked. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the beds and pillows. Room 205 was clean, everything worked and had everything I needed. This area was very quiet and this hotel was more than I expected. Breakfast was ok, and had some variety. Don't like the nescafe machines. What happened to real brewed coffee? The shuttle was very accommodating and made it easy to use the Metro.

"Best Western"
DMSims, 18 Mai 2016

Nice, clean, friendly..... So pleasantly surprised at this conveniently located hotel. I plan to stay here again in the near future. Staff have been great. Only negative is pool not open yet.....Grandson disappointed in that. Family friendly and breakfast included.

"My experience"
Ivan N, 29 Avril 2016

Location, well, when we checked in, they gave us a 609 room, the toilet was running there. We returned back and were given another room, 627. The hotel seemed to be empty, but they anyway tried to give us a room with drawbacks and facing the big noisy road. They could give us another side of the building, but I didn't ask for that. I just understood that there was such an opportunity for them. My night sleep was a nightmare because of noise. Another thing is the gym, guys, there is no gym! There is a room 112, where they put Schwarzenegger equipment's leftovers, since he was not a bodybuilder yet. There was a non-working running machine, broken pullover, working cycle, stretches, rowing machine, that is ALL! No dumb-bells, nothing else. But frankly speaking it is non-pleasant to be there. Of course there was no swimming pool as well.

"Good, clean place to get your head on a pillow"
FairfaxBob, 28 Avril 2016

I rate properties against their peers, and a "good" from me is not a knock. This property is in the middle of a surface level refurbishment. The rooms are on the small side, but the furnishings are in good shape, and the room was clean. This hotel seems to cater to bus tours, which can create jams at the breakfast buffet and in the elevators in the morning. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and of good quality with good variety including fresh fruit. A large (6 busload) group of kids had just finished breakfast when we went to breakfast, and the breakfast room was clean, orderly and had been completely restocked. In summary, this is a good, clean place to put your head down at a reasonable price. Ask for an even numbered room, as the odd numbers are on the I-95 side of the building.

"Hotel Nice, front desk staff, not so much."
Robert C, 24 Avril 2016

This hotel was very clean, very nice stay. The fact that they have a shuttle service to take you to and from the metro was a bonus, how ever, the times for the shuttle were not posted anywhere, and when we asked staff about bus or taxi service, we were just told "I don't know" No offer to give us info on cabs or bus service. also, no listing of nearby restaurant's in the room.

"Safety Concerns and Poor Training"
morningstr2, 03 Avril 2016

I will never stay at any Best Western again! This is the second time I am breaking up with the Best Western Brand. The first time had to do with poor customer service about 7 years ago in the DC/Maryland area, and ironically, this time, although it is a completely different Best Western, I am again unhappy with service and attention to details at this Springfield, Virginia Best Western. My husband and I travel several times per year for leisure; and, personally, I also travel a few times per year for business. We are simple people...just need good customer service, comfortable bed and pillow, and most of all safety is our number one criteria when selecting a location. We even recently travelled to Barbados in the West Indies and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel we stayed at. So I am baffled by why here in the U.S. that some hotel brands can't get it right. My observation has been that it had a lot to do with lack of proper training. To be fair, I will write about the "Wins" & "Losses" with this location, but first I'll talk about the "wins": "Wins": Great location - close to the Springfield Mall; quick/reliable shuttle transportation from the "Blue Metro Line - Springfield station to the hotel---less than 3 miles. We were lucky to have Abigale (I believe that was her name) as our shuttle driver for most of our stay and she was friendly and patient. We also experienced a very friendly and patient customer representative on the morning we checked in. We were having trouble locating Abigale/shuttle van, and had to call the hotel a couple of times and each time, there was warmth in the customer service person's voice and she tried to give us more specific direction on where to wait for the shuttle van. Other "wins" were the breakfast bar and the comfort of the bed/pillows/linens. The breakfast bar offered at least one "different' item each morning in addition to the regular items that offered something for anyone. Mattress was comfortable, linens soft like home. Excellent coffee and good variety of juices at breakfast! So what is there to complain about with such glowing "wins?" "Losses": Flight arrived early and we called ahead to see if we could check in early, and the friendly customer service person said yes. We arrived and were greeted by a big smile and she said, "I am so glad you found the shuttle." So far, so good until she moved us to a room that was ready. The room rate changed drastically which she did not catch but I did. No problem since I caught the mistake before signing the dotted line she asked me to. She offered an explanation which I disagreed with ---I wanted the same rate that I got on Hotel.com and she didn't argue; rather, she called the manager over and after about 10 minutes, the adjustment was made to the Hotel.com rate. (Side note: Be mindful who you book with as other booking sites were a lot less than what Best Western offered us.) We headed up to our room. It's basic; if you are looking for fancy accommodation, this is not it. But my husband and I don't need fancy stuff so it would have worked for us. With no sleep for more than 24 hours, we were looking forward to a nice night sleep but the toilet wouldn't stop running after we flushed it. By 2 AM, it was too much to take. Here is where things really went downhill fast. My husband tried calling the office but the room 409 phone didn't work so he called from his cell phone. The lady at the front desk told him to hang up and use the room phone, and he explained that it didn't work. He explained about the toilet noise. (You also need to know that the toilet in room 409 and room 401 both leak at the base after each flush so don't be alarm if you see water.) Approximately 15 -20 minutes later, my husband called again to find out the status of his complaint. She told him she was with a customer and that he had to come down stairs to get the key to a different room. Keep in mind it's now about 2:20 AM. He asked her if he wasn't considered a customer also. It appeared that customers at the counter get priority but if you are staying there then you didn't matter. So, my husband went down stairs and got keys for a second room ---room 407. A gentleman in the lobby with her came up stairs with my husband and temporarily fixed the toilet. We later discovered he was the security guard and the purpose for him to come up with my husband was to help us move but we thought he was maintenance. Because he was able to temporarily stop the toilet from running, we decided to sleep the rest of the night, don't flush the toilet again, and move early in the morning. This is when my worse nightmare happened. As I was fidgeting with the key to open the new room which was 407, and at the same time I realized the room was ocupied, a lady from across the hall came to her door and astonished me. She asked why was I going into the kids room? I am trying to explain that downstairs front desk moved us to this room and I showed her the two keys with the room number clearly written on the envelope. She insisted that it must be a big mistake because it was the kids room and they were there until Saturday. The entire time which seems like eternity, I am getting fearful that someone will come out of the room with a gun to shoot me because I am trying to enter a room illegally not to mention that it was a group of children. Finally, I was able to go back to our room 409 and told my husband what just happened and couldn't help thinking what if we had really decided to move in the middle of the night? What if we had walked into a room occupied with sleeping children at 2:30 AM? It got worse! The lady who gave us the key argued that it was the Best Western system and not her who made the mistake. That the system should have never allowed her to move us to an occupied room. That it was the security guard fault because she tried to get him to come up and see us since my husband's initial call. Every excuse was used but she still didn't seem to get the fear I felt, how insecure we felt that this could have happened to us...some strange person walking in on us because of the hotel mistake. My husband reminded her how unprofessional she was with him during the two calls and she quickly blamed it on the security guard/maintenance guy. Later the morning, we asked to speak with the manager, and we don't think that he quite understood the level of my fear of being viewed as a child molester or something worse for trying to enter an occupied room. Maybe I am being dramatic, but all I could think about while the lady across the hall was questioning me was what if she has a gun since many Americans believe in the right to bear arms. Again, maybe I am being dramatic, but I was scared of what could happen. The manager was not the least bit helpful. All he said was 'let me know what I can do for you" and explained that we were given the wrong keys. We explained that we didn't want to get the lady fired, rather, there seems to be a lack of training because even the nice lady who helped us at check in didn't know how to move a guest from one room to the next without increasing the room rate. Another loss: We went without bath gel and wash rags for three days until we asked for them. Keep in mind that there was maid service every day but they didn't seem to notice that all the wash rags were used as well as shower gel. Just some minor details that were missed. For safety reasons, I will never stay at a Best Western again.

"Stay at Best Western"
Ashok G, 01 Avril 2016

The location is perfect we have a mall next to it and convenient to the freeway access. The stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I stayed on the sixth floor and the room and bed was comfortable The breakfast was good, it would be better if they provided hot oat meal. The cappuccino coffee machine was excellent. The elevator makes noise while opening and closing ,

"Not bad, could've been worse."
Molly E, 26 Mars 2016

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights this past week. We got a good deal on the room (considering it was Spring Break week we couldn't find a better place for the same cost). My parents also tagged along this trip but we got separate rooms. We stayed here about 9 years ago with my in-laws. It definitely has improved since then. Directions were clear on how to get to the hotel. When we checked in, the gentleman working was a little baffled and almost shy (he had mentioned it's not where he usually works) but he was friendly. Many reviews here said there was a $200 hold on their account while they stayed, but when we inquired about it he said that we were excluded since we booked with a 3rd party. My parents had trouble with their key cards so they had to have them fixed, but overall the rooms were clean. The shower was excellent (with hot water abundant and good water pressure). The rooms are outdated as stated in many reviews, with bland colors (but they're renovating it seems, with added "new" wallpaper in certain spots, and new air conditioning units in some rooms). We were most surprised about how comfortable the bed was (especially after walking 7-8 miles per day in DC). The breakfast was okay at best. It had different varieties each day ranging from make your own waffles to eggs and turkey sausage to a packaged jimmy dean breakfast sandwich. It did the job. Shuttle service was good besides the last day, the shuttle took 1 hr to pick us up, but overall was reliable. Might stay here again, but would consider other options first.

"Depressing hotel"
pippin5, 22 Mars 2016

My first impression upon seeing this Best Western was that it was a factory or jail that had been renovated into a hotel. The stark office is in a separate building so you have to use your room key to enter the main building. The elevator is slow and noisy. The halls are dark and brown. The room was dark and brown. The bath towels were clean but thin and worn. Same for the bedding. The windows do not open but it probably would have been too noisy anyway. The free breakfast was ok but the breakfast room was out in the separate building with the office and just seemed strange.

"Very convenient location to DC."
Wayandjen, 21 Mars 2016

We were very happy with the hotel shuttle to the Metro. The breakfast was good. Not happy with the fitness center, very small, not many machines. We were very unnerved about a drunk person in the hallway passed out on the floor at 6 am when we went to breakfast.

"Springfield Best Western"
John A, 12 Mars 2016

The only reason why I gave the exterior a 9 versus a 10 is that the exterior registration sign seemed to point beyond the check-in office so we walked around the building and no one offered to help us from inside the lobby. We ended up walking around when we could have simply come into the front door that wasn't clearly marked. Other than that this was a great experience. The room smelled great, was very clean, and the complimentary breakfast topped off our stay. Will definitely stay here again this time next year.

"It was OK"
jmspk19, 08 Mars 2016

The location is strange, kind of in the middle of a bunch of overpasses for the interstate. It was fine though, and parking was plentiful. The entrance/lobby was separate from the hotel building itself. Check in: Was quick and easy, although the $200 hold on my credit card is outrageous for one night, and for a room that doesn't allow purchases (on the tv, room service etc). The room: Was very small, and cramped and had old, beat up furniture. I've heard some rooms have been remodeled...mine had not. It was clean, and the bed was comfy enough. The remote didn't work the tv. I went down to the lobby to get another one...still didn't work. I ended up programming my phone to do it. The internet was slow, but ok. If you had any work to do, it would have been frustrating...but it was fine for browsing. The bathroom was small, but good enough for me. Overall: I would likely not stay here again because of the obscene hold amount on my card. That is way too much for a hotel like this. I've heard of $50...but $200 is way over the top. That combined with the other small issues would cause me not to come back. If they lowered the charge to something decent, I would consider it.

The hotel is clean and well located. The Staff is very help full and professional. When we checked out at 5 AM the desk clerk went out of her way to make sure we had muffins to take with us. The shuttle service is a very big plus.

"Convenient and comfortable"
Oldmoviefan, 25 Février 2016

It was ok. The TV and heat worked great and I needed it that night! I had little time to partake of any amenities except the breakfast. I would have liked a little less traffic noise, but one cannot have both convenience to the Interstate and major roads AND lots of quiet.

"Best Value in Springield"
jrodneyb2, 20 Février 2016

The staff at this Best Western is extraordinary. I have stayed in most of the hotels just south of DC and I haven't found better value anywhere. The location is convenient and quality of service is better than nearby hotels that cost twice as much.

"Good, Economic Place"
jfdelizabethnj, 10 Février 2016

My positive impression started at check in. For various reasons, our first reservation was for Saturday and Sunday, and the second was made for Friday. Stacey, at the desk, made it his priority to connect the two, to avoid me having to check out and check in on Saturday morning. All I asked was that he ensure we would be in the same room for the entire stay. It took five minutes, but he wanted to make sure we were well served. The bed was the most comfortable bed in a hotel that we'd found in a LONG time. The room was neat, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was good, too. The cost for an out of season stay was $50.00 per night, which in that area is very low. The Best Western is right next to Interstate 95, but it was quiet and a pleasant stay. The hallways are kept completely clean, and the entire place smells clean. My wife and I would be glad to stay there again whenever we're in the area.

"Good Experience"
Gangaram K, 05 Février 2016

Too much of traffic sound into the bedroom. otherwise it was good. Excellent location. Breakfast is nice with so much of variety, I enjoyed it. Over all i'm happy and would recommend others. Okay ..... thanks and see you again next week

"Nice 2.5 Star Hotel"
J8036NArichardb, 03 Février 2016

The room I stayed in on the 5th floor was clean, newly remodeled (believe the whole hotel was remodeled in the last 3 years), had a refrigerator, mini-microwave, tea/coffee service in the room. Free parking and free wifi. They offer a decent free hot breakfast that is one of the best in Springfield area hotels. This hotel has improved a lot in the last 2-3 years.

"Off to see the Wizards...."
T C, 21 Janvier 2016

We traveled to the DC area to see the Washington Wizards and Miami Heat basketball game on Wed Jan20. The Best Western hotel in Springfield Va. was clean and the service was great. The hotel employee at the front desk was Stacey, he was a wonderful and very helpful. Thank You, Stacey...

"Almost a 4!"
Coldduck, 20 Janvier 2016

This hotel is like the little train that says, "I think I can..." The continental breakfasts are very good by including eggs, bacon, breakfast sandwiches and more. The rates are very good, and it's very close to the Springfield blue line Metro station. In fact the hotels shuttle van will take you to the Metro station and will pick you up! It's very close to a major mall too. The downside is our room suffered from poor ventilation. Moisture from the shower condensed on the outside window and it was a constant battle using towels to soak up the water. The room was in pretty good shape. The staff was also extremely friendly and professional. Would we stay here again? Yes, because the pros outweighed the cons.

"Vacation"
Than N, 19 Janvier 2016

We were visiting family and spent some time in DC. We decided to stay here because of the location and good price. It was close to area shopping, restaurants, and DC. The facility was good for the price. Breakfast was good as expected. My only main complaint was there was no cover to unload your luggage. It was raining and it would have been nice to have a covered area like other hotels.

"Best Western"
Hilda D, 21 Décembre 2015

Excellent Service. I will definitely come back to this hotel to stay. The staff was very professional. The hotel is at a good location. I really felt safe. Breakfast was very good. The coffee was off the chain. There was a Mall (Springfield) up the street. I did some of my Christmas shopping.

"Met my needs"
Suzanne C, 18 Décembre 2015

The hotel was affordable and convenient to the Metro. The room was quiet and comfortable. There was a good choice of items at the complimentary breakfast. Staying here allowed me to make a business trip at the end of our budget year.

"Wonderful!"
tommyvercetti8, 15 Décembre 2015

We wanted to visit Washington D.C. without spending a fortune for our hotel. So we chose the BW Springfield for two nights. Lots of space for parking, a super-friendly staff and a nice swimming pool. Yes I know, the swimming pool is surrounded by the Freeway & the Hotel Parking...but that's fine to me for swiming a round after a day of sightseeing :) The rooms are spacious for two persons and there is a nice breakfast buffet. If you go to D.C. by car: park your car at Jefferson Memorial for free and take a rental bike to explore D.C.

"Best Western Springfield, VA"
Stuart W, 07 Décembre 2015

A great value with great service. The staff shines, especially Stacey, Erica & Michelle. The complimentary breakfast offers choices, especially mocha. There is an outdoor pool & no hot tub however, easy access to the interstate & metro offers quick access to all DC has to offer. When considering quality, service and cost, this hotel usually tops my list.

"Tricky location"
Axl, 04 Décembre 2015

Had a hard time getting to it even with GPS. Aside from that, room was clean, bathroom spotless but furniture was chipped and dated. It has an odd lobby separated from the main building. Parking is dark needs more lighting. Excellent breakfast, loved the coffee machine! Would stay again if in the area.

"Great place"
Louis I, 24 Novembre 2015

This hotel was very convenient and a great value with varied ethnic restaurants, shopping, and Washington D.C. not very far away. We appreciated the helpfulness and courteousness of the staff. If in the area, we would definitely stay again.

"My home away from home"
William F, 24 Novembre 2015

Stacey and all the staff are very friendly and professional whenever I check in. The breakfast is always hot and fresh and Erica the attendant is always there to greet me with a smile. The shuttle service is also a plus and is really handy taking me within a three mile radius.

"Everything I needed"
Bill D, 05 Novembre 2015

The hotel was very clean, and the staff was exceptionally friendly. When I made my reservations, Stacey was on duty and he gave me great directions....I would have had a very difficult time finding the right road at night, in the rain, without his very clear, precise directions. I had chosen this hotel because most do not have ethernet connections in the room (most hotels have wi fi and my computer does not connect to wi fi). Stacey told me they had two computers in the lobby, and I could plug in right there. It worked out as well as I could have hoped. The breakfast was eggs, pork sausage, waffles, pastries...much better than just a stale bagel many hotels offer. For the DC area, this was value for the $105/night I spent. I will stay here again.

"SPRINGFIELD STAY"
506caryh, 02 Octobre 2015

First time visit to Washington, DC. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great location with complimentary shuttle service to the Metro. A good selection of items for breakfast. We would definitely consider staying there again.

"Mostly comfortable"
revrickie, 24 Septembre 2015

The room was mostly comfortable. There was a couple of things that I found problematic. A fire alarm went off one morning. We were told to disregard, although several fire trucks came. We never found out what happened. There seemed to be a lack of communication between the front desk and everyone else.

"Pay the extra money!"
Wauhop, 23 Septembre 2015

Thin, flimsy blanket so it was freezing even with the A/C turned up and only two working outlets in the room. It was clean, and for the price decent but probably the worst nights sleep I've had at a hotel in a while.

"Very Bad Odor in Room"
Ernest C, 17 Septembre 2015

I had to be moved twice during my one week stay. Once because the TV did no work and a second time due to a strong chemical odor from construction in one of the rooms on the floor. The chemical odor was so bad in my room that it was giving me a very bad headache .

"Great value, breakfast, location!!!"
Stephen R, 15 Septembre 2015

Ok, so the hotel is surrounded by other big chains. All in newer, fancy looking buildings. However, those also come with a bigger price point. We were hesitant about staying at this Best Western, however, after reading reviews thought it was worth it. We were VERY happy with our decision. The staff was amazing, Stacey at the front desk in particular. The bed was ridiculously comfortable. The breakfast was probably the best complimentary breakfast Ive had. The options were different each morning and its set in (I'm guessing) what use to be a Waffle House or something. Location is right near a Metro station (which they provide a shuttle to and from), along with being near a mall and some shops. It was super easy to catch the metro, go into DC, then hop on back. Price was great, and I would certainly stay here again.
