We came out to Larkspur for our son's football game at the high school nearby and was pleased with our hotel choice! The kids especially loved the pool and enjoyed their stay with our family and a few others! Great stay, location, amenities, and breakfast!
I think the best western Corte Madera is a great value for your money. The rooms are clean with comfortable bedding, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast is delicious. Plus, the Corte Madera Center is directly across the street with lots of places to eat and shop. I also like that there is a walking path just down the street from the hotel. That allowed me to get in my daily walk easily. The only negative thing I can say is that there are not a lot of amenities in the room. Not really a problem, but others might miss the lotion, shower cap, etc.
Excellent service. Friendly staff. There is a really nice pool and outdoor firepits. The hotel is located just off highway 101 easy access. Lots of restaurants nearby. Only 10 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge so if you are going to San Francisco consider staying at this 4 star hotel.
Hotel location and facilities are great! The room however is quite dated with an old musty smell - it really needs updating. The bed mattress is super soft and springy and needs replacement. The staff were super nice and helpful. This hotel has so much potential.
We chose this Inn as a convenient spot on our trip north and desired a stop north of San Francisco. As it's near shopping centers that may appeal to guests, but stores are across the highway so not a convenient walk to shopping centers or restaurants. We had a friendly check in. If I could give a Trip Advisor extra half circle, Christina would get it. The room was good-sized and equipped well with a desk and table. The sink area was outside the bathroom which is always a plus when traveling with someone. Breakfast was quite fine. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. Buildings were oddly set about the area and ours was in the back behind a non-functional hot tub. Issues included two main lights out in the room and an odd coffee maker located too close to the hair dryer to make one ever want to use it. There was a small slab patio with two chairs that looked out at the parking lot, so… we skipped that experience.
Very nice to escape the heat and cool off in the beautiful large pool. Lovely gardens where I could walk my small dog.
This is a quality hotel for very reasonable price. Super clean, I prefer no carpet, good towels and updated bathroom. The hotel is getting updated on the outside too! But there was no loud construction.
This hotel was clean, breakfast that is included was very good. There is easy access to shopping and dining.
The room was very clean and in working order. There was a slight musty smell but otherwise no problems. My room had a porch with chairs on the lawn area near the pool so it was lovely to sit outside my room and enjoy the evening.
This was my 2nd time staying here. The customer service is excellent, the hotel grounds are beautiful and the complimentary breakfast is delicious!
This is the best hotel to stay if you are a fan of swimming. The pool is huge and love the property amenities with basketball court ping pong and BBQ grill for guests to use
OK, so I think I've definitely found the gem of the best westerns. This is probably the best one that I have been to. They have an amazing pool and they have an actual restaurant on site that gives you one of the largest breakfast I've ever been provided… This place gets five stars for sure.
On holiday weekend (Memorial Day) we just wanted a quick close "staycation" ... (we're South Bay). I chose BW Corte Madera because I had BW points ... but mostly because of the pictures of pool and it's close to Muir Woods. It's literally on 101 so super convenient, although we were pleased to not hear Hwy 101 at night. We had a 2nd floor room near lobby (no balcony) but it was really nice! Super clean and spacious. Big LG TV and nice shower/bath. Our king bed could definitely use replacement but we slept well anyway after a busy day. Best part? The huge heated pool! After a busy day out, we really enjoyed at least an hour in the pool late afternoon. Lots of sun ... also nice hot tub. I also swam in the morning; it was chilly outside (low 50s) but the pool was warm and fabulous for lap swimming. I will absolutely come back soon just for "the swims!" We also appreciated all the restaurants literally across the street. After driving around a lot, was perfect to park up and be able to walk over to dinner. There were lots of shops too like REI, Athleta. There is also a nice big Safeway so you can bring things back to the room for a longer stay as there was a larger than normal mini-fridge in the room. Also a Keurig machine, but no microwave in the room. We did not partake in the breakfast so cannot comment on that. There is a Starbucks across the street.
When I come to the SF Bay area, I will now ALWAYS stay at this Best Western. Have stayed in several other places before - including Air BnB's - but this was by far nicer and more comfortable and the best value! Room was very clean, service was great, breakfast was outstanding! Wonderful pool and even a putting green! VERY Quiet! THE BEST location - walked to Book Passage, The Gallery at the Village of Corte Madera (GREAT MALL), Corte Madera Town Center. Excellent restaurants nearby and very safe and secure!
Still here one night with our dog. Perfect room in back with huge courtyard for dog. Great people throughout. Got early checki n and late departure no problem. Lovely breakfast included. NOT luxe place but clean, quiet, safe. Cannot beat location as mall stores and good restaurants across the street. Will definitely return and wholeheartedly endorse. Pool great for families.
Well-maintained but still needs some aesthetic help and minor maintenance help, limited counterspace in bathrooms, quiet, comfortable, loved the deck, loved the grounds although they have taken a beating from recent storms, clean pool and spa, hate the cable TV service, breakfast had plenty of choices but the breakfast "room" was freezing. STAFF WAS EXCEPTIONALLY ACCOMMODATING, KILLER LOCATION WITH MID-TIER SHOPPING CENTER ACROSS THE STREET including a CVS, a Safeway, and some great restaurants. I would stay again.
This Best Western was easily the top hotel we stayed at this trip - the others were chains that begin with an "H". This hotel was spotless- the room, the grounds, the lobby, the breakfast area! No dust or anything else anywhere! Bed was comfy too! Breakfast is served in the restaurant. There was scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, and bacon served up from behind the counter- and these were REAL eggs (not powdered), real potatoes ( not previously frozen). There was also cereal, oatmeal, fruit, toasts available. They obviously take a lot of pride in taking care of their hotel!
Worked for me. Kind, friendly and accommodating staff. I needed to stay here for 3 nights, my husband was having a major surgery in San Francisco. Our first night we were given room 235, top floor, last building and farthest room! When we drove back I thought, wow, they sure put us way back! We stayed the night. We could hear loud traffic all night, really loud!! Beds were comfortable, big room, but!!!! I requested a room change next day. They gave me several choices. I chose a court side room, ground floor. Smaller but sooooo much better. The other room also had an adjoining door (I know they are locked but I was going to be alone next couple of days). Anyway, freeway noise was so much better and I felt safer and more comfortable!!!! Worked for me. I was very happy after room change. I slept well and felt secure and safe being alone. Gas station across the street, shopping, Safeway and many restaurants across the street also!!' Easy on and off the freeway if you're heading south!!
We stay at this Best Western at least twice a year. The front desk staff is so kind and helpful, we've never had an issue, the rooms are spotless, the grounds are lovely, the pool is huge, there is a masseuse you can schedule, and this time we were blown away at how comfortable the king size bed was. For real, most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel. It's a perfect little hotel on lovely grounds and worth every penny. There is also a nice shopping center within walking distance with lovely stores and restaurants.
Other than being put in the farthest away room to get to in a wheelchair and finding a traveling work crew parking their trucks across three parking lanes per truck, The room was a non smoking room but it did have a faint ill odor. Overall the stay was nice.
Leisure and birthday celebration with a some alone time with my partner. Just a getaway and celebrate my birthday together and have lots of fun together. A time to relax and enjoy each others company it's worth it.
We love this inn. I have been staying here with my family for almost 50 years! Although many things have changed in that time (they do an excellent job of updating rooms!), the constant has always been the beautiful green space in which to relax. My own children love the abundant lawn areas, the shuffleboard court, the ping pong table, the pool, the hoops, the putting green, the bonfires, etc. just as much as I did. It's so clean and comfy. At the end of the day when traveling, it's so relaxing to come home to a place like this, where you can sit outside and read or just unwind while getting fresh air with your feet in the grass, not on a concrete slab! So important…so refreshing…sets this inn apart from others by a mile. I always know I will sleep well here when I choose to come back inside. It's a mini resort feeling. There's a reason my parents chose it when I was a kid, I chose it when traveling with my children and they continue to choose it today. The staff has always been friendly and courteous. A gem to be sure. I can't say enough!
We have stayed at this location several times and it has been consistently clean and comfortable. Grounds are clean and you feel safe walking around. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is provided.
The staff was really helpful and nice. The hotel is older but kept up nicely and clean. Normal satisfying continental breakfast. Right across the street from a shopping center with good restaurants. Lovely town. Great place to stay! This one is a no brainer.
Good room size and clean. Nice neighborhood with a shopping mall nearby. Although close to highway but it's fairly quiet. Very nice swimming pool and hot tubs and an outdoor firepit to enjoy. It would be pretty good for family trips too.
Though nothing fancy, this is a very comfortable place, with really friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, an unexpectedly big free hot breakfast every morning, an Olympic-size pool and nice Executive Rooms. Not everything works perfectly, but it's good value for money and a short walk (or drive) from shops that will meet all your needs. Most of all, it's a thousand times better than the Marin Suites Hotel next door. That place can be hostile, noisy, overcrowded and dark; if you're staying in Corte Madera, choose the Best Western every time!
Our family had a great stay here just outside of San Francisco. Take the scenic winding road route over the Golden Gate Bridge. Across from Cheesecake Factory and high end mall. Huge swimming pool and great breakfast. Staff were very friendly and rooms clean.
Room pleasant and clean. Staff was friendly, efficient and particularly welcoming. Including breakfast and nice addition. Although daily housekeeping needed to be requested (policy), getting extra coffee, clean towels, and other, easy and staff quickly responsive.
Fun week in wine country!! Great food and sites. Very relaxing. Shops and restaurants across the street was very unexpected but very convenient. Really nice neighborhood as well. Was a great base camp for all our adventures!! Will definitely stay here again.
Do not let first appearances fool you. This is not your usual ubiquitous chain hotel along the highway. Behind the office spreads a quaint old time resort. You could almost imagine this as the sort of place families would return to year after year. Buildings surround a lovely courtyard with large pool. Seating areas, picnic tables, putting green, shuffleboard, etc would mean you wouldn't really have to leave the property looking for things to do but relax. True, the property is older but that may be part of its charm. It's well maintained. The room was comfortable and spotless. Quiet, too. In room Keurig coffeemaker, mini fridge (but no microwave!?) Ample electrical outlets and USB charging ports. Complimentary Wi-Fi was adequate. A substantial complimentary breakfast is served 6:30 - 9:30 in a separate building that appears to have been a former full service restaurant. Seating at booths and tables makes it less cafeteria feeling. Well presented stations with drinks, breads/pastries, hot and cold cereal, fresh fruit and make your own waffles. Attendant served entree offering of the day. When we were there it was scrambled eggs, sausage links and roasted breakfast potatoes. Juices and yogurt. Friendly staff. Location immediately off the expressway. Easy back on southbound. Ferry to SF very close. Shopping, restaurants and gas across the street. Perfect location to put down and spoke out for day trips to SF, Marin, Napa and Sonoma. Or just stay and relax. It's more laid back family, quiet couples resort than rowdy. And it's not a cookie cutter generic hotel. We'll be back!
Parked vehicle was hit and damaged by housekeeping golf cart. At first they were apologetic and said the manager would contact my son. However they contacted me instead even though he had left his information. He asked us to submit 3-4 quotes for repair and was going to email me with instructions for submitting but we he never did. Poor communication and follow through from hotel. Aside from that the hotel was fine. Other employees were friendly and helpful.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Very basic standard room on the small side. Breakfast was decent with eggs, bacon and sausage. Hugo at the front desk was friendly and efficient checking us in. The only small quibble I have is one of the cleaning staff walked in when we were outside. He was delivering extra towels and he had no identifying BW clothing. The front door was open while we sat in back and my husband was startled because he walked in without announcing himself. Usually, the staff member will knock and say: "Housekeeping!" So that was a little odd.
Front desk lady called our room on our check out day and we told her we were booking another night and she said you have 15 minutes to book the room otherwise you need to pack up and leave the room and then come back to it after youre done. We let her know that we were just waiting on the travel agent to finish putting it through right at 15 minutes she called again and we let her know that were waiting for a manager from the travel agency to get on the line so they can add our free night onto the stay. She threatened us and said you have 5 minutes to finish booking your reservation otherwise were going to have to call the authorities. We let her know once again that were just waiting for the manager to finish applying our free night and I offered to go down to the front desk so she can see what was going on. She said thats not necessary if you dont have it booked on 5 minutes then youll need to leave the property otherwise were calling the authorities. Right at the five minute mark shes banging on out door my fiancé answered and let her know that the manager was finished and putting it through right then she then screamed and said you need to leave were calling the police so i called the front desk and the dude who answered was being just as hostile & i said the travel agent manager is confirming the reservation right now but im not going to have them do that if you guys are calling the police then the dude said yeah if you can put it through right this second then we wont & remember youre in a suite room so i said yeah the one with the jetted tub right i didnt forget then the dude said you guys havent been communicating with us or letting us know whats going on at all & if you had then this wouldn't have happened mind me we literally told the front desk lady everything that was going on & that happened which i told him & he just continued to be extremely rude i told him the reservation should be there & then he said you need to come down to the front desk right this second & bring your id & a card with your name on it for incidentals also you need to sign the paperwork & then hung up on me there incidental fee is a $1 hes acting like im going to skip out on a $1 after all of this the manager offered us two water bottles, bananas, & yogurts thats it didnt even get an apology just got excuses and was told we should understand & that they are trying to run a hotel & that we need to make sire were better prepared next time. We will never come back again!!!!!
Great location near the mall and restaurants a crosswalk away. Strong mildew odor in the room. Fortunately we were able to keep the window open even though we were off HWY 101. Quiet. Good lighting in the room. No tub but a nice tight strong shower. I love that hotels are getting rid of the small plastic bottles and putting in containers that I can read without glasses in the shower which one is body wash, shampoo, and conditioner! Beautiful courtyard to sit in. Keurig coffee in the room was great. Breakfast had everything.
In for 3 nights for a wedding. Perfect location for those unfamiliar with the area to do the back and forth between rehearsal, ceremony, reception - and then east access to terrific site seeing - Sausalito, Muir Woods, Tamalpias, Golden Gate Bridge. Only a half hour from San Francisco. Also across the street from a big mall.
Basic Best Western Room, nothing fancy but nothing to complain about, clean, a big plus is the super friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again if I would visit Marin County again in the future.
I satay at the best western throughout the year at different locations , this place provides very good service, the breakfast has some healthy options as well. There is a big mall just few minutes away which was very convenient. Overall we had a great time!!!
We stayed here because my husband was having surgery at Marin Hospital. It was a perfect location, and the staff was so kind and accommodating. It is an older motel, but very clean. I loved the keurig was the best in room coffee maker, I loved that. Stayed three nights and had a good experience.
Everything was clean, the hotel room was perfect for what we needed. Shower was a little small, and the mattress topper on the bed was very soft. I prefer a firm mattress but that's ok. The free breakfast was a great benefit, saved us money during our stay. We stayed here during our trip to the SF area as we didn't want to stay in the city. We arrived at 2:00 and they let us check in early as that was a big relief as we wanted to take our luggage out of our rental asap. Everything we wanted was an hour from here so worked out great, no regrets not staying in the city
I've stayed at this hotel for many of my trips to Mill Valley. It has become my home away from home. During the pandemic, it was my refuge. The quality of the breakfast has declined just a bit, but what hasn't. I will still call this my home away from home. It's close to the shopping center than contains the grocery store, bank, and wonderful stores than provide diversion and good deals.
I really like my room location I think I was in 204, it felt cozy. I had a nice view of the outside area. Breakfast was better than most, it's served in a restaurant adjacent to the property. The bed was super comfy. I had to request a microwave but it was brought up to me very quickly.:)
I was so impressed with my stay at Best Western Corte Madera Inn. Had to go back and forth to San Francisco to appointments and the location of Hotel could not have been better. Only 20 minutes to get to appointments. Last time we stayed in the city, and staying in Corte Madera was the much better choice. Although this hotel is conveniently located off the highway, there was no noise at all. Very quiet stay. The room was clean and comfortable and well appointed. The staff were amazing and so very friendly and helpful. You truly felt welcomed. I highly recommend this place and will stay again.
I enjoyed my visit, was welcomed by friendly staff working on the grounds. Check in was fast, and room was tidy and clean. The pool is large. The property is large too, with many social areas. Breakfast was good and offered many options.
Staff is helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable. Ample parking, with a feeling of safety. Nicely kept grounds. Nicely appointed rooms. Family friendly environment with lots of options for the kids outside such as the pool, shuffleboard, Basketball, golfing tee. Nice BBQ area and fire pits.
Despite reiterating in the pre check- in email that it was imperative that my adult daughter have a handicap accessible room which I requested when I made the 7 day reservation 2 months earlier, there was no room available when we arrived after a very long 6 hour flight. The desk clerk found an alternative room situated on the 1st floor which turned out to be the farthest distance to walk to the on-site breakfast facility. My daughter has severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and also had difficulty reaching outlet plugs for her electronic devices. The room itself smelled of mildew and there was only 1 tiny bar of soap for the entire bathroom nor did the room have a microwave. The breakfast area lacked the ability to even offer self-serve juices or cereals. When we asked for scrambled eggs, we were told the staff would bring it to the table. After waiting several minutes, I approached the staff re the status of our order only to be told that I was supposed to pick it up at the counter??? Decided at that point to leave this out-of-date circa 1956 motel! In hindsight, the hotel staff upon our arrival, should have found an alternative hotel on our behalf that could better accommodate my daughter's needs.
This is a really pleasant and comfortable place to stay. There is a park like atmosphere with barbecues, picnic tables, basketball hoop, pool, etc. The best part is the friendly and very helpful staff.
The Third Best Western Motel we stayed in over a three week period as the consistency of the accommodation was good. The staff were pleasant throughout our stay and helped to recommend the local eateries in the town centre. Breakfast was plentiful and the bonus point here is the 25m pool which I used daily. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Don't be put off by the proximity of the highway, the noise was never intrusive and it served us well as we were exploring the nearby national recreation area and subsequently San Francisco.
Overall a great experience. Well maintained grounds with an excellent pool and breakfast. Short distance to the freeway and shops. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Fire pit, BBQ area with plenty of space!
This place is a hidden gem. Clean and comfortable rooms, well kept grounds and facilities, quiet area, friendly, helpful staff and a delicious breakfast. The location, close to the 101 in central Marin makes travel easy as well.
My parents and I had a wonderful stay at the BW Corte Madera Inn. The hotel has only 2 floors, but the property is really expansive. We requested a room on the second floor and were given one at the back building-- as a result we had a really quiet stay! We loved that there was a window in the bathroom and a balcony with a slider and screen in the back because we love fresh air and natural ventilation. The room was a fantastic size and had vaulted ceilings. We really enjoyed reading on the patio, which faced north-west and got lovely afternoon sun. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. We also appreciated the extra sink outside the bathroom because it made tooth brushing go so much faster. The real highlight, however, was the amazing breakfast and the exemplary breakfast staff who provided us a cheerful start to each day. We weren't expecting a hot breakfast at all, and the food and service was consistently top notch. I should also add that I really like the texting feature at the hotel, because it made asking for extra towels and toiletries a breeze. When visiting Marin I have always stayed in Sausalito, but I think that is going to change. This property is a great value for money and ideally located near the 101--why would I stay anywhere else from now on?
This hotel's vibe is of a small, family oriented east coast vacation resort. Lovely park setting surrounds a huge lap pool. Seating under shade, BBQ picnic area. Across the street is a beautiful outdoor shopping mall.
The staff was so friendly and accommodating for all of us. They went above to help meet our business needs. The internet was really good and the breakfast was beyond expectations. The benefits and service definitely outweighed the aged facilities. I would definitely come back and bring my family.
We've stayed at this hotel for over a decade. Hands down one of the best breakfasts if you can nail down a time depending on the day. Prior to the pandemic we found rooms were much cleaner. Following the pandemic the rules for cleaning the rooms changed. We understand the need for a more "hands-off" approach and experienced it at several hotels, but each had a way to communicate this with guests. However, upon arrival the rooms have been noticeably not as clean as prior to the pandemic. Getting the room cleaned during our stay was extremely confusing and difficult. Overall staff were for the most part willing to help again depending on the day and if you get there early enough the breakfast is best value around! Not allergy friendly but plenty to eat.
We stayed here before heading into SF, and after our visit to Muir Woods and the coast. Great location, and perfect for a family with active kids. The pool was heated and warm enough even when it was cool outside, and the hot tub was great as well. They also had a fire table to warm up near the pool, and other things like shuffleboard, ping pong, a gym, basketball, and little putting green to keep the kids entertained. Included breakfast was also really good, as it is in a separate building that looks like it used to be a restaurant. Had lots of options, quality pretty good too. Also right across street from a cool shopping center, with lots of dining options. Rooms were fine, we stayed in one of the back buildings and wish we would have stayed in a courtyard room, but it was still nice. The outside layout and look may be a bit dated, but we thought the property was unique and had a very nice stay.
What a nice place to stay. Lots of area in the room, large bathroom with plenty of hot water, housekeeping was fantastic , super clean laundry room , check in was easy and breakfast was very good with a large eating area, I had a small outside patio which was great for morning coffee and reading a book at night. I definitely would stay here again and it's just 15 miles from downtown San Francisco p,us a nice mall just a couple of blocks away.
Excellent location near restaurants, shopping, in walkable neighborhood, near trails. Year round stellar courtyard/ outdoor seating/ swimming pool/ hot tub. Always a great stay : comfortable clean rooms, helpful/ polite staff, including continental breakfast.
Dirty torn carpet. Had to unplug clock to plug in my C-Pap. No plugs or chargers on nightstands. Mattress was horrible. It had a mattress topper. I have a very bad back. My wife has a bad back. Mattress is of the worst quality.
Best Western Corte Madera was excellent for our family. The property is nice and well kept. Staff was friendly from check-in to free breakfast, to check-out. You get an excellent price for staying here versus in San Francisco, and it is a short, quick, drive to The Golden Gate Bridge, and then over to the Pier and Ghirardelli Square.
PROS Friendly, accommodating staff. Best Western is one of the few corporate hotels who is making a real effort to communicate consistently with their customers. They are, from my experience, responsive and responsible. Everyone working at this hotel is to be commended for a job well done, including the manager. They keep the place up, as best they can, and are truly hospitable. Five stars here. The pool is terrific, though understandably busy on summer weekends. The breakfast has plenty of options and the people working in the breakfast room are saints. The common areas and rooms (we had two) are kept clean and tidy. Not easy as this is a large, five acre compound with lots of rooms. It's also an older property and all that goes with it. CONS If you are disabled, keep reading. In spite of offering #ADA rooms, this is likely not the hotel for you. The two #ADA rooms we booked were at the very back of the hotel (Room 134 and 135) as far from the pool and breakfast room as possible. Parking for the rooms is also some distance from the actual rooms themselves and requires you to traverse along narrow corridors, past many rooms opening directly onto your path (and onto you, if you happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time) In front of the so-called #ADA rooms, there are three very steep steps (photos attached) which could be dangerous for disabled persons and guide dogs. Additionally, the floors in the two rooms mentioned here are uneven, with a jolting hump between the area with the shower and toilet, leading to the outer sink. This is a trip hazard for anyone with mobility issues. The rooms were clearly not designed for disabled people. There was no place for a wheelchair, the furniture was arranged the same way as all the other rooms I saw. And while I noticed some rooms had attractive, wood or lino flooring, our rooms had badly stained carpet no amount cleaning can save. The only thing that made the rooms suitable for some disabled people is the roll-in shower. Alas, a roll-in shower alone does not make a hotel room fit the disabled. I wish more hotels understood this.
Arrived at 3p. Greeted nicely by the staff, but told check in time was 4p so I had to wait. That's fine. Our room was ready about 20 minutes later. We were given keys and shown on a map where to park and find our room. 2nd floor “pool” view! Lots of parking near our room, but no elevator, you have to lug your suitcase up the carpeted stairs. The room itself was big & vaulted ceilings made it feel bigger. Lots of windows to look out at that pool. But we didn't. We had a “pool house” view. Lol. Didn't matter. I didn't plan on watching the pool anyway. I just thought it was funny they mentioned my pool view at the desk. See photo:) The good- Room size Closet size Keurig coffee Windows that open Big pool area Nice courtyard Friendly desk staff Location TV has good cable (xfinity) The not so good- Teeny bathroom (like the size of a water closet) Thin walls (listened to my neighbor saw logs all night & I sleep with earplugs!) A/C system (Better than nothing, but it's a swamp cooler that is very loud and turns on and off all night. It did drown out the log sawmill but was so loud I took the logs instead) Bed too soft. Some may like a soft bed. I do not. Hurts my aging back. The TV is very far from the bed. I have great eyesight and if this is the dedicated tv spot they need a bigger tv. I'd stay here again if I got a deal. Not worth $400 a night (to me.)
This very clean hotel is not too far from Muir Woods and not too far from Napa. There are good restaurants and shopping across the street. Every staff member we met was professional and polite. We had a two room suite, which was very spacious. The bathroom was small. I mean, really, really small. No problems with noise. The breakfast had many options, including waffles and scrambled eggs. The landscaping is well-kept.
There is absolutely 0 noise insulation in the BW. Dogs are allowed, and everyone in the complex was woken up between 12am-2am by barking dogs. I think some owners threw their dogs onto the balcony for the night, which is why everyone could hear them. Just as you were falling asleep.... the dog would resuming its terrible barking to drag you from sleep! There's also no noise insulation between rooms. We could heard everything the rooms next to us were saying, and there's a distinct light crack around the frame of the door. We also couldn't sleep until 12am because there were teenagers (children?) running around on all floors of the extremely old buildings. Anyone who was walking or running anywhere caused the building and rooms to shake.
This is a great place to stay in central Marin. The rooms that open on to the park like grounds are especially nice and quiet. There's a pool, basketball net, picnic tables, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. There's also a guest laundry on the property which is very helpful if you're traveling for any length of time.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as an option when visiting Marin County. The room was very nice, the breakfast was good and the location was perfect! The freeway both north and south was very close.
Great setting, convenient to highway, restaurants, and shopping. Really nice room with little patio. Good breakfast, nice staff, and exceeded our expectations. Pretty gardens. We would definitely come again.
This location has the most slippery and full of lip service general manager you'd hope to avoid even i dark alley. I booked a stay on Saturday to check out Sunday and yet I was KICKED OUT and had to go to another and book ANOTHER night on SATURDAY!!!! This cowered hides behind his canned responses and ever correct anything or even attemp To do so. Instead he just runs his month thinking a response is adequate. Blows my mind how he got the job.
This was a great meeting place for extended family to gather. Great location for activities in San Francisco and hiking along the Coast. Grounds are beautifully kept and offer fun for family members of all ages- swimming, basketball, firepit for in the evening. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast provided too.
We are traveling back from wintering in Southern California and this was a perfect location for us. One reason as well was availability of Tesla Superchargers across the highway that also offer Tesla 50% off rates after 7 pm. You might want to make a note on your website how close those chargers are. Also we planned two nights each along our route to explore the areas and went to Muir Woods. Only a 20 minute drive. Also excellent high end shopping plazas with food courts and restaurants and a Safeway Grocery just across the street.
The outside may need a little TLC, but all in all it is a great place to stay. It has a little putting green to practice. Large swimming pool and spa. It has a work-out room, but we didn't visit it. Outdoor eating area and BBQ. Provides pooper bags to pick up your dog's poop. It is a great location across from a mall with great restaurants and close to shopping. Easy on/off for 101. Very good hot breakfast comes with room: scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, potatoes, bagel, coffee, juice, fruit, waffle, cereal, etc.
The staff was not only helpful but genuinely smiling and in a good mood. There is so much included (whereas most hotels charge extra for) like games, a hot breakfast, fitness center, etc. We didn't have time to do it all, maybe next time. All concerns and requests were dealt with quickly. The actual hotel is super cute with private decks upstairs and down plus the entire vibe really helps you relax. Even though its close to the freeway the rooms are pretty sound proof. We didn't hear outside noise and the heat and air worked quickly so we never had to run one or the other for very long. PROS: If you have a dog you can bring them (extra $$) and plenty to do if you have kids and don't want to pay extra $$ (basketball, ping pong, sm. golf green) Plenty of cozy sitting areas outside to eat and hang out CONS: no streaming service. They have basic cable - limited on stuff to watch. Plus it lagged and blanked out several times within a 2 hour period.
We stayed 1 night here for a Christmas party, the staff is super amazing. When we couldn't get an uber to take us to the party the front desk called a taxi service and it picked us up within 10 minutes. Nice room with refridgerator, kerig, and good size tub. The free breakfast is pretty average with eggs, bacon, make your own waffles, fruit, and cereals in a restraunt style setting. We didn't really get to use the rest of the ammenities but there is a pool and putting green. My only complaint is the bed was a little uncomfortable, but I'm a little spoiled with my mattress at home so it might just be me. Overall, good stay and would recommend this hotel.
It's great to be in the middle of Marin county and have such a perfect park like setting. I come back here twice a year and find the same staff which tells me that management must be doing something right. The employees here are all friendly and helpful.
Nice property, well kept. Great for families. Close to shopping and dining. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Each room has Keurig coffee maker and bed has plenty of pillows. Surrounding property is nicely landscaped
Corte Madera is a beautiful place. This is a nice hotel. Avery large pool and outdoor common area. We stayed with our friends for a wedding. The facility was very accommodating. I suggest going during warmer months to make use of the pool and hot tubs
The check-in process was speedy and our requests for both rooms to be together was fulfilled. We were also greeted by text to ensure that our rooms were satisfactory. The rooms were big, clean and in great working order. The breakfast was hot and cold with a great selection. The pool/spa area was clean and welcoming. There were plenty of games in the rec area for enjoying. The check-out was quick. The staff, Hugo and Diane were very efficient and courteous. Thanks for a great and comfortable stay and experience.
Friendly quiet place that needs some serious remodeling. Clean comfortable and quiet. The carpet was old and the decor dated with some freshening up this could be a great place. I travel to the area frequently and would consider returning after the upgrades.
The room was very clean and beautiful. I wanted to stay longer. The breakfast was like eating at a 5 star restaurant. I was so impressed, and will definitely be back. I felt so so salt and comfortable. We had four women trying to get ready for a wedding and room had two separate sinks and mirrors to accommodate all of us…which was amazing!! The stay was awesome.
We came here when we were evacuated from the fires. The air was so fresh and clear here from the bay breezes. We loved this hotel so much we want to come back next year “just because.” It felt like being at a resort. The rooms were spacious with two Adirondack chairs in front overlooking the lawns. There is a full size Olympic salt water pool. This was so rare to find at a hotel. Huge and hot outdoor spa. The free breakfast was in a separate building. Looks like it was a restaurant at one time like a Denny's. We even brought our dog and there was just a one night fee vs. charging us every night. It was a great location to explore Muir Woods. We also went to Muir beach and Stinson beach.
We stayed at this hotel since it is close to Mill Valley where we were attending a wedding. Wedding guests were offered a discounted price. However, the hotel is old and the rooms are outdated, there are no elevators but the staff will help with your luggage. On the plus side the beds are comfortable with heavenly mattresses and the breakfast is free including good healthy choices. The hotel is also close to HWY 101 and very convenient to the surrounding tourist areas.
Facility is older but well kept up. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Rooms were updated and very clean and beds very comfy. Breakfast selection was good with hot and cold selections. Central location - 20 min to SF; 25 min to the east Bay; 30 min to wine country (barring commute traffic on all!).
I had stayed at the Corte Madera for business many times from 1978 - the late 90's. On my recent stay I was shocked how little has changed other than they no longer have a restaurant on the grounds. The room was clean but small in comparison to a newer Holiday Inn Express. The Wifi worked well but the TV was difficult to navigate. Finding an Ice Machine was a challenge and I was shocked the hotel doesn't provide plastic bags for the ice buckets considering the sanitary concerns that we all have due to Covid.
I loved staying at the Corte Madera Best Western. Everyone was polite and professional. The breakfasts were always sreved on time and hot. The portions were plenty. All of the staff were friendly and efficient too. And I loved the pillows and bed. So comfortable!!
We have stayed here several times. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have shuttle service available if needed. Nice pool and other fun activities onsite for the kids.
We arrived tired from driving from Seattle, staff welcomed us. Our room was perfect for tired travelers flying out the next morning. Very clean, nicely furnished and with a balcony overlooking the pool. Our room had a nice wide screen TV, fridge, and coffee maker. A great value. 1
This BW is right beside the 101, but I didn't find that to be a problem, because there's enough landscaping that you don't see much of the traffic, and the rooms are all on the far side of the grounds, so I didn't hear it at all. It's a really nice campus (as long as you ignore the traffic speeding by just beyond the hedges), with a lot of two-story buildings spread out across the grounds, many with nice porches. In the middle, there's a pool, trees, winding paths, outdoor seating areas. The room itself was very nice. I loved the location, because right across the street is an upscale mall that includes quite a few restaurants, including a very good Italian one. The motel offers hot breakfast, which was OK but not impressive. It's served in a separate building that looks like it used to be a restaurant. The morning I went, the hot part was overcooked scrambled eggs, decent bacon and potatoes, dished up on a paper plate by an unsmiling worker. No toast. There was cereal and fruit you could grab. Seating inside the former restaurant was very well spaced for social distancing, or of course you could eat in one of the nice outdoor seating areas. It's kind of pricey, but I think for Marin County, it's reasonable.
After checking in to another hotel, which was awful, this hotel was a godsend! Able to accommodate me last minute, clean professional and cozy! I felt very comfortable staying here alone. The pool area is mice, however it was too cold to use. This hotel is just across the street from corte madera town center and the farmers market was happening during my stay.btons of yummy restaurant options near by too. Very lovely area and just a 20 minute drive to muir beach!
We spent two nights at this BW in mid June. Check in was easy and efficient. We found the room to be good sized and well furnished. Beds were comfy. A/C was a bit noisy and not really that controllable. Parking was okay. There is a large swimming pool and nice grounds. Location is very good with a mall across the road walking distance. We would stay here again.
It's a nice little hotel with what you would expect at the price point. Was a little disappointed that the only double queen rooms were stuffed in the back of the property. The rooms are nice, but the beds and pillows are a little lack luster. The bathroom in our room was fairly outdated and could use some upgrades. But the overall stay experience was nice.
The park like areas with picnic tables and outdoor seating areas are a real bonus. Staff are extremely helpful and fast to help solve any needs or problems. I've stayed here a number of times over the years, and they have earned my loyalty.
Our party of two checked in, One before the other. The staff was gracious to allow early check-in, helping one of our parties. The accommodation was good, clean, on the second floor, the parking ample, the staff professional, courteous, helpful, so appreciated, incl. Cristina. We did have a slight issue that arose, the staff at the check-in area, along with the manager, immediately handled the issue. They were prompt with a reply, and again, professionally, and courteously. We have 'been' with Best Western for 'some time'. We recommend this brand.
I will definitely be staying at this hotel everytime I'm in the bay area! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms were clean. A nice quiet place to stay after visiting the busy city!!
The property here is so beautiful. It is nestled next to Mt Tamalpais, and a wild bird sanctuary. There are flowers and trees and the hotel has a lovely resort feel to it. Even during Covid the hotel runs really well. Breakfast is good and the staff is super accommodating and friendly. I also enjoy the stylish decor of the rooms. I like to stay here any chance I get.
Property needs upgrades.........Some modern/current decorating touches. TV channels were very adequate and much appreciated, hot water was adequate and towels soft, furnace worked well, noise level was low, beds/pillows reasonably comfortable but decor (paint, carpet, etc.) lacked...........and room was a bit (chemically) smelly upon arrival.
This hotel's location couldn't be better! Within walking distance of shopping and restaurants, it's extremely convenient. The property is well planned out for it's size and offers a little something for everyone. Plenty of parking right in front of rooms.
Enjoyed our stay here. Only complaint is the hot tub was too hot at the main pool and the second hot tub was out of order. Everything else met or exceeded expectations. Would recommend stay here again!
We have stayed here 4-5 times now during the pandemic while working at a nearby hospital. We come as a family to take advantage of a mini staycation, as this hotel has everything you need for an escape! - QUIET - even our rooms facing the freeway have been quiet with the sliding glass door closed. Guests have always been quiet too. - POOL & HOT TUB - When the weather is warmer, the enormous outdoor pool is so much fun! It's well maintained and is salt water. Even one day there were multiple groups at the pool but everyone was able to stay in their area for plenty of safe social distancing! The two hot tubs are large, clean and hot, and we've always had it to ourselves. - GARDENS - beautiful greenery & flowers everywhere you go on the large property - SPORTS - a basketball court, putting green, shuffleboard court, ping pong table. So much to keep the kids busy. Oh, and bring the bikes, scooters and running shoes because there are gorgeous biking trails around the corner! - BREAKFAST - they are limited to grab and go stuff during the pandemic, but they make the most of it. There's a hot egg and sausage sandwich, granola bars, cereals, coffee/tea/juice/milks, muffins, yogurt, and fruit. - STAFF - always nice and helpful - LOCATION - across the street from an outdoor shopping center with tons of great restaurant options for take out. And a 5 minute walk to great bike trails. - BIRDS! - I don't consider myself a bird watcher but there are such pretty marshes and wetlands all around this hotel, the kids and I had fun spotting so many different types! This place is a gem!
This hotel is about 20 minutes to the SF VA medical center. The rooms are always spotless and front desk always very friendly. There are restaurants and gas station across the street. The beds are very comfortable and its very quiet. Beautiful courtyard with outside chairs for relaxing. And you don't have to pay for parking like you do with hotels in the city.
I'm and essential worker and am required to travel routinely. I always prefer to stay at Best Western because I know my room will be comfortable and the staff professional. It's been difficult with Covid but the staff have always worn a mask and distanced appropriately. The facilities are routinely cleaned. I feel safe staying when out of town.
Very satisfied with the room & the service. The room is quiet, spacy & clean. The room has a back door to garden, swimming pool & breakfast. All staff very nice and helpful. They also provided great breakfast with multiple choices of coffee, sandwich, fruit and so on.
This location is large and spread out. It's more of a summer resort type so you have a lot of space and comfort. The rooms are nicely sized with (2) doors; on the lower floors. They have a KICK ASS pool and spa it just makes you want to come back as soon as possible. The location has great parking, friendly & helpful staff, and it's quiet. If you want a comfortable stay away from home this would be your best bet!!
Recently, we had to evacuate our home during the Glass fire. We were lucky to find a room at the Best Western in Corte Madera. The staff relaxed their pet policy and couldn't have been kinder during this stressful time. I should also add that the room was large, very clean and reasonably priced. I had not wanted to stay in a hotel since Covid but felt very comfortable here.
We just left after spending eight nights, having been evacuated from our Sonoma County home due to fires. Couldn't ask for more helpful folks -- even at 2 a.m. when we were checking in. Clean & comfortable. Nice pool, too. Recommend highly.
There are so many amenities to enjoy and a great place to relax with friends or family or not. Conveniently located for the beach or hiking. Many options for food and shopping. Surrounded by trees and mountains.
Stayed 6/24 6/25/2020 I requested a roll away bed, it was in such bad condition you could see the springs through the mattress covers. It sunk in the middle. Clearly not suitable for a guest. I asked for a better one, the next one was held together with a bungee cord. There was not breakfast because of Covid, completely understandable, the coffee pot in the room did not work, I went to the front desk at 6:00 am to ask for another, the gentleman said he would send one immediately, that never happened at 8:00 am I called the desk, finally 8:30 am I got a working coffee pot. We have been staying here about 4 times a year for the past 3 years as my son is getting treatment at UCSF, we got back from a difficult appointment I went to wash my face, grabbed the face towel off the rack and it was a stained, torn, ratty cleaning cloth. This visit was unacceptable. These issues can't be blamed on covid. It was poor customer service and employees not caring and paying attention.
Easy on and off freeway, southbound 10. A place for family while breadwinner takes in meetings in the city. Large pool, basketball court, hot tub, lots of places to lay in sun. Shopping nearby. Great restaurants.
I received what appeared to be a recently renovated room it was in the executive buildilng set slightly away from the main courtyard rooms. The bed was super comfy and the room was clean and nice. I was worried it would be noisy but it was fairly quiet.
This is a nice, well equipped and well maintained hotel. The only down fall is the extremely limited breakfast offering. It was beyond basic and we ultimately left to eat elsewhere. Lastly, the rear little hot tub by our room was cold, however the main one up by the office was excellent
This was a great place to stay while visiting nearby relatives who had a full house during the holidays. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and affordable rooms, close to shopping, comfortable beds, good buffet breakfast.
Excellent rooms and very friendly staff. Awesome breakfast buffet. Beautiful landscape and a huge pool. The two things I didnt like was that you have to walk too far for ice. Only 3 ice machines. This hotel is big. Another problem was that there was no microwave in my room. My room was the cheapest at $150 per night and no microwave. Not good. Everything else was excellent.
I needed a hotel in the Larkspur area and came across the BW in Corte Madera due to its location and price. The hotel is a bit dated but I was happy with my choice. It is right off the 101 freeway which means lots of road noise. I'm a light sleeper but I managed to get my rest. One very nice thing about this hotel's location is that it's very close to shopping and dining. I was able to walk across the street to the Town Center, an outdoor mini mall, and found Starbucks, Philz, and a couple of nice restaurants. There was also a Safeway and Rite Aid which were handy for snacks and water. There is another small shopping center with high-end stores on the other side of 101 and the hotel offers ride service to get there. It is walkable but it would be a pretty long walk. All of the staff that I interacted with were very friendly. I would stay here again anytime.
Good choice if visiting Marin County as centrally located. Older property but rooms are spotless and staff was awesome! We travel often and not uncommon to hate the mattress. Not this one! Slept like a baby! Bathroom is small but very clean. Good shower water pressure as you never know in Calif. Did I mention "great staff"?
Hotel was very nice and clean. It is located right next to an outdoor shopping area with plenty of restaurants and a gas station. Front desk staff was very nice and there is an online option for express check in and out.
Construction in room directly under mine until 7p both nights drilling/hammering Shower is a sprinkle/not a robust shower flow Lobby clerk not welcoming Stained ceiling tiles Bathroom sparse/no counter/shelf space to put my things (toiketry kit)
The reason why we stayed at this Best Western was that it was near the start of the North Face Endurance run (that I was racing). The most important item in a room is the bed, and this hotel (at least the room) was in sore needs of replacing the mattress and springs. I asked if they had a board that I could place under the mattress but they had none. I slept backwards on the bed and had a very sore back. My wife said (she came back after dropping me off) that she was able to get some sleep in the middle of the bed. She also said the complimentary breakfast was good. No compliments to the service or front desk... not helpful and there was no offer to move us.
The pool was outstanding and you had a masseuse on site. Two whirlpools. I really enjoyed having a back patio and the tv was great. Really liked the argan toiletries and used the keurig for my own herbal teas. hot cocoa and your french roasted coffee.
First - a shout out to Margot at the front desk. We had checked in to another competing hotel, and it was dismal. Dirty, moldy, bugs. We went to the Best Western Corte Madera and Margot helped sort out what our extended family needed for rooms and made it all work for us. Thanks! This hotel is not a five-star, gold plated hotel, but it was comfortable, and clean and the staff was terrific. It is a little older, a little dated, but overall, fit the bill for us. We often travel to this area and the Best Western Corte Madera is on our list of places we can stay, and know what we will get. One knock - the parking here is a challenge. The parking spaces are small, and the parking lots filled up in the evenings.
Front desk service was great both checking in and out. The room had a major mold issue on the windows and made the room severely musty. Pillows suck. Pricy for a BW but more reasonable than other hotels in the area. Expansive property though dated. Sits right on 101 so the traffic noise is apparent. Easy walk to restaurants and shops in Town Center.
Very nice lobby large pool area and restaurant style dining area for breakfast. They went out of their way to keep the laundry open for me. We like to use Best Western because of there partnership with the Harley Davidson web site and we can turn on all the hotels along our journey and use them as way points. Best western has always made it easy to make changes if needed and so many times can happen when you are on two wheels. Thanks
Lots of amenities, great location, wonderful service great staff with welcoming smiles and demeanor... beautiful rooms fun stuff close by and walkable shopping and dining. Close to SF without the hassel of the city
This was a pleasant stay ---clean, comfortable room, complimentary hot breakfast and great customer service, Convenient to freeway, and eateries. Would definitely recommend! Liked best, efficiency and courteousness of front desk staff, nothing of note regarding dislikes or dissatisfaction.
Best place to stay in Marin County ..... Very clean rooms, friendly and attentive staff, good breakfast. Inside door on the ground floor rooms opens to large and very nice courtyard with your own sitting chairs or rockers, big trees, flowers, walkng path to breakfast. Nice large room with table and chairs, separate dressing mirror area. LOTS of restaurants, shops and stores very close by, easy access to the highway.
My wife and I stayed here, at the end of our 3 week Pacific NW adventure. It was a great place to relax! We looked long and hard for suitable places in Marin. Most were too expensive, or more of the Boutique Hotel variety, but this place, for the money, was the best. It had a huge amenities list! We stayed in the Courtyard King room, 1st floor. The room had a back door to a patio and chairs, to sit in the sun and relax. The mini golf putting green was right there. It had a huge pool...never saw a hotel pool with a 10-foot section! They had a nice gym, a basketball hoop, outdoor Ping Pong, and Shuffleboard! It's just off Rt. 101, but not noisy at all! Corte Madera is a great location, very close to the Larkspur and Tiburon ferries, and a 10 min. drive to the GG Bridge. The room was big, the bed was comfy and fairly firm (they have pillow top options, as well, but I requested a firmer bed, and got one). The bathroom was roomy, with lots of hot water and great shower pressure. We were there for 3 nights, for a total of $699, including all of the taxes and fees. For the middle of Marin, and the quality of the place, and all of the extras, you can't beat it. We will definitely stay here next trip!!!
We stayed at Best Western for 3 days the property is beautiful with nice walk ways, lots of trees, clean property & the amenities are wonderful ping ping, basketball, bbq, fire pit with comfortable seating, the pool is heated and big, 2 jacuzzis & complimentary breakfast has a lot of options including make your own waffles, eggs, potatoes sausage. The rooms are so quiet beds comfy and shower hot. Highly recommend this hotel.
We were at this Best Western for a friend's birthday celebration elsewhere. We were extraordinarily disappointed. First, didn't realize that this was freeway-adjacent. OK. Then entered room -- looked like it was 50+ years old. Still appeared to have an asbestos-finished textured ceiling of that era. OK. Bathroom was minuscule -- virtually smallest we've ever encountered -- NOT OK. New TV was only decent "amenity" in the room. The top bedsheet encased some sort of waffle-shaped device that gave this the feeling of 3M 500-grit sandpaper -- NOT OK. Bathroom "amenities" were as miniscule as the bathroom itself, barely similar to what we'd be given in a $99 per night hovel. CERTAINLY not worthy of our $500+ 2-day cost. Also, the sliding closet door was broken (couldn't slide!). As I write this my reaction is that this was our VERY WORST hotel stay in decades.
Always a pleasant relaxing stay with good amenities. Grounds are lovely. Food at breakfast pretty good. Location very convenient. Missed the warm chocolate chip cookies at 4pm. Always look forward to those fresh baked cookies.
We stayed 4 nights at the Best Western in Corte Madera and couldn't have been happier with the location. Complimentery shuttle service to and from ferry to downtown San Fransisco and to the Marin Airporter. Close to downtown Sausalito and short drive to Golden Gate Bridge headlands and Muir Woods. Our room was spacious and clean, huge outdoor pool and beautifully maintained grounds with lots of places to hang out with family and friends, but each room also has outdoor space with seating for two, we had a spacious balcony which felt very private even though it over looked the court yard. Good hot and cold breakfast selections which was nice for a 4 day stay so very day we had something different. Staff couldn't have been nicer and went above and beyond making sure a gift basket left for us at the hotel desk from some relatives made it to our room and cold items were put into the refrigerator, made us feel kinda pampered.
We chose the Best Western Corte Madera Inn because of its location, and B.W. reputation, and ended up really liking this place! The room was very spacious, and we were able to check in early, which was important because of an afternoon medical appointment. The upstairs room worked best for us, in spite of no elevator (upstairs rooms are a bit larger than the downstairs rooms). Great bed, pleasant surroundings. Nice view of the grounds from the window. The complimentary breakfast is served in an adjoining restaurant space, and it's nicer than average. The Corte Madera Inn is conveniently located next to other stores, and it's an easy-on, easy-off U.S. 101.
This is the third time I've stayed at the Corte Madera Inn, and the visits have always been a pleasure. The staff and service are excellent. Easy transport to and from the Larkspur ferry to the city. Great pool for doing long laps. The whirlpool spas aren't great; tepid water and not much jet action.
I must admit, pulling up and seeing the exterior of the motel, I was a little bit dubious as to whether we'd made the right choice to stay here, but we had a really lovely stay. Our room was really spacious for a family of four - a large room with two double beds, its own door to keep you private, and a separate room with one large king size bed. In between the bedrooms was a nice vanity area and separate bathroom. The rooms were really comfortable and clean. We stayed 3 nights. It was a 15 minute drive to the Golden Gate bridge and into San Francisco. Breakfast was ok, not the best but it was included in the price and did the job. Fresh fruit, eggs were on offer in a buffet style on paper plates and plastic cutlery. The pool area was lovely. Really big warm pool, lots of sunchairs, fresh pool towels, and even a couple of bbqs dotted around. Lots of vending machines around and a microwave in reception came in handy when we warmed up some uneaten pizza from lunch time. Would recommend and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we ever visit San Francisco again
The staff were all extremely friendly, professional and helpful. And the pool was absolutely amazing, My grandkids especially liked the pool basketball net. The facility also had a fitness center, small basketball court, shuffleboard ping pong, putting green and two hot tubs. We had a wonderful little weekend get-away.
The hotel is located close to the highway, shopping and dining areas. It offers above average public facilities, as lobby, swimming pool, restaurant. Rooms just average, maybe great for families on vacation, less what it will be expected in a business trip.
This is a nice hotel with beautiful surroundings, close to delicious restaurants, two malls and a movie theater. It has wonderful amenities including a pool and hot tub, both were dirty during our stay, but I know this to not be the case most of the time. The beds were alright, the pillows were not.
We got there really early in the morning. We were really tired when we arrived. The desk clerk knew n understood n got us right into our room. He was very nice n helpful. The room was big n very nice. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was great with lots to choose from. In a different building (restaurant) so lots of seating. All in all this is a nice hotel.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. It's a nice, quiet location away from the city noise, but close enough to get to the famous sightseeing spots. The breakfast area was nicely spread out for plenty of seating and space to relax. Parking is not an issue at all, plenty of spaces next to the rooms. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We especially liked the free shuttle ride to the Larkspur ferry, so we didn't have to drive into San Francisco from the hotel. If you enjoy swimming, this Olympic size pool is awesome. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Although some parts of the motel seemed dated, overall it was super clean, beds comfortable and the grounds around the pool so beautifully landscaped with amenities that felt like a mini resort. Recommend getting a room that faces the pool. We were in a back building that wasn't as nicely landscaped but still clean. Breakfast was good with plenty of seating as it is in a separate but close building. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Truly, this motel is a great value for the location.
Arrived 12 hours later than we should have due to bad weather we missed our connecting flights from UK . Checked in and we were given water and cookies , nice . The room was spacious , clean and quiet with very comfortable bed. Breakfast was included and was a short walk through reception to a separate building. This building is rather dated but it didn't matter. It wasn't busy when we were there. We found the choices to be ok , all the usual things , no complaints. The swimming pool looked very nice but it wasn't hot enough for us to even sit around it . Hotel was nicely situated for Sausalito and Samuel P Taylor park . We had a great day visiting those places . All the staff we met were very pleasant and we had a very enjoyable stay.
I've stayed here at least 5 times in the past 5 years and always look so forward to my stay. The staff is incredibly accommodating and pleasant, and the rooms are beautiful, well appointed and incredibly clean. The location can't be beat with all of the restaurants and shops within walking distance, not to mention the view of My Ram. I love it here!
This spot has such a low-key and relaxed atmosphere. Parking right in front of our room was so much nicer than big lots at hotels. It has the feeling of tranquility and peacefulness. I have come here for the past 10-15 years and absolutely love it. Don't change a thing!!
This hotel is laid out well. It is very obvious that visiting workers stay at it and are long gone by the time most of us are getting up. The things I like about this particular hotel are: quick & efficient check-in & check-out by a very pleasant staff. The room was as neat as a pin with all the little things frequent travelers such as myself demand such as consistently comfortable beds & pillows. My room was very quiet and the tv was large enough I didn't need to wear glasses. Oh, the remote worked from the bed which is a real problem at most hotels. Here you didn't need to get closer to use it. Last item is, the desk and two chairs were the right height and were comfortable for longer work times.
This hotel was so accommodating. We arrived a day early and we called and talked to Margo and Christina who graciously changed our reservation. This hotel looked like it had recently been renovated. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The setting area with wicker chairs overlooked the pool and courtyard. The breakfast area was wonderful. We really liked our stay here and would recommend it to others!
Excellent friendly staff. Hotel a little dated but very clean with lovely grounds and pool. Maybe a little expensive but this is a pricey area. Awesome service including free shuttle to the ferry! No parking hassle or fees. A great way to get to and from the city. Highly recommend.
This is our third time holding a colour workshop at this hotel, their space is perfect for 30 people rounds Great natural light and lovely view of the pool. Service was fabulous! Raul took great care of us! We like to stay on the second floor because it feels like we are in a treehouse with the shutters on the windows and vaulted ceiling. Great shopping right across the street, perfect for a conference filled with women!
I paid $134 per night (plus tax) for the room, and stayed two nights. For this price I expected an updated room that would be exceptionally clean and well laid out. My room was worn-appearing and had a strong odor of room freshener or carpet cleaner. There was only a pedestal sink in the bathroom, and no place to put your clothes to change after a shower. I dragged a chair into the bathroom to put my clothes on. The bedsheets were exactly that: a sheet with another thin, cotton-type (but very thin) blanket, topped by another sheet. I like to sleep in a cool room, but there were no real blankets available, so I had to turn on the heater. The carpet was worn appearing. The front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly, and check-in was easy. The breakfast was standard, and set out nicely and tended by an on-site person. The dining area looks like it might have been a restaurant that was closed down, so the tables and booths are older and worn. Parking is tight because it looks like they're working on some type of construction project in the back, and that took up several parking spaces. I wasn't able to park close to my room. On a nice note, right across the street is a Safeway grocery store, and a shopping mall with a drug store and other retail stores and restaurants. You can walk to them. It is also very conveniently located just off the freeway with easy on and off access. If you don't expect a fancy hotel, this will do, but be careful about how much you pay and decide if it's a good value. I probably won't return.
There are no words to describe how unbelievably comfortable the king-sized beds are. Too bad check out is at 11........Not enough time. The hotel exterior has an interesting set up with a luxurious-looking lobby that has a microwave, complimentary water and cups. But the layout of the room is very cozy and beautiful with a large, perfectly sized television that gets decent channels. The windows and blinds open and close. Closet with bathrobes and extra pillows. Lots of light in the room with a spacious counter top and large mirror. My favorite amenity was the shower. There is a sliding window in the bathroom right above the tub that not only allows for ventilation, but a BREATHTAKING view of the mountains behind you as you bathe. I was stunned. Never experienced that in a hotel room before. I can still remember it. Such a small feature to the hotel room but it took my breath away. I would revisit that particular hotel just for that view.
This hotel is great for the price the rooms are clean, the ground beautifully landscaped, there is a pool and hot tub, and it is accessible to bay area sites. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I stay here for business and when vacationing.
I wish I had more time to enjoy the property, it was lovely. Check-in was friendly, fast and easy! The lobby had a chic mid-century modern vibe. Our room provided space to rest, and get ready for the next day's business meetings!
everything you would expect from a $100-120/night hotel, however, this was $150 (paid in advance to get best rate!). Breakfast was great, lobby was inviting with fireplace and hot fresh coffee, newspapers, etc., just off the freeway yet room was quiet, spacious private balcony (though cold and rainy, could not use or enjoy), easy free parking, friendly staff.... reduce price by 20-25% and I would return.
Great location, clean, quiet, close to restaurants and shopping. Easy to commute to San Francisco without the high prices. I would very much recommend to friends. Also have a great salt water Olympic size swimming pool.
After a long drive from los angeles, richelle greeted us with a warm smile and goodie bags. there were warm soft baked cookies and coffee/tea in the lobby. richelle even gave us an upgrade b/c she saw we were traveling with kiddos. it's hard to find the wonderful customer service that richelle provided us with. we are grateful for her kindness and can't wait to come back to stay at the best western corte madera. it's the best decorated and comfortable best western we've ever stayed at!!!!!
The room was on the smallish side, but everything was comfortable, clean, and functional. The facility is conveniently located near highway 101, but road noise was not an issue. The Town Center Shopping Center is right next door, and that provided additional convenience. The staff were polite, professional, and quick.
I guess you get what you pay for and what you are getting here is paying a high price for the proximity of the hotel to San Francisco. This hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The room I stayed in had the smallest bathroom I've experienced in years and there wasn't even any place to put my toiletries. The room and the bed had both seen their better days. One plus for the room is it did have great lighting. The property does have potential. The grounds and the main lobby are very nice and the breakfast offered was quite good. What the visitor has to decide for themselves is it worth it to spend the extra money to stay at an old hotel to be closer to the city or not. Next time I will look to stay somewhere else.
They were very nice and the room was very clean. Excellent employees that are willing to help in any way. The breakfast was EXCELLENT!! It was raining when we arrived and they were helpful to get us to our room without going out in the rain.
We were visiting family in the area and needed a place for a night before heading home. My SIL had stayed at this motel when she was there and recommended it. The staff, Hugo and Rachel, were very friendly and helpful. The motel is old but still in good shape. It is being renovated. The room was clean and had a patio. The bathroom was nice but didn't have much counter space. There is a very nice Italian restaurant within walking distance of motel. The breakfast was in an old restaurant on the grounds and it was very good. I would stay there again and recommend it.
Lobby looks great, but rooms do not match; they are dreary and need a facelift. Our room smelled strongly like disinfectant or cleaning agent. Breakfast is nice feature. Proximity to our location was key; otherwise, probably would not stay here again. You get what you pay for.
Formerly the Edgewater, back in the last century, this is a wonderful place to stay when visiting San Francisco and surrounding area. Fine job keeping it up, delighful courtyard with pool, spa, lounging & picnic areas as well as a putting green and more! We had delivery food one night and ate it around a fire pit (gas) on lounges on a lovely evening. Great breakfast. Great staff, we left our car in the parking by the breakfast ‘restaurant'/lobby and BW shuttled us to the Larkspur Ferry terminal so we could go to SF without a car... perfect! Comfortable, quiet.. we will stay here again.
I have been here three nights, the heat only works if turned to 75..I talked to the desk daily, had maintenance out twice and changed rooms, complete disruption of my trip, I am furious..front desk verifies the problem..I am a 72 year old disabled veteran and can't believe I am paying for this
I spent a night here to ensure that I could get to Muir Woods early. This is a motel type property, so don't unload your luggage while checking in, since you may need to drive to your room. Location is excellent - gas station cross the road, lots of dining near by, and a CVS near by. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but again, for most people this will just be a place to stay while traveling. Warm showers, comfortable linens, and very helpufl front desk staff. The wireleness internet is very reliable and fast. The best part - awesome hot buffet breakfast! Waffle maker, bacon, sausages, eggs, bacon, everything you could imagine. It will keep you going well past noon.
Starting off with the positive sides of the Best Western: - Great location, relatively close to San Fransisco - Excellent facilities, such as a large pool, ok gym and several spa's. - Great breakfast, including a waffle-machine, scrambled eggs and sausages/bacon etc. - Enough space for the breakfast, as they use their closed restaurant for sitting space - Friendly and professional staff, great roomcleaning - spacious rooms, bathroom/shower is ok as well So why the 3 star rating if all of above is so great? Well, I could only find one downside to my 3-day stay at the Best Western... and those were the beds. Not only did I find the beds way too soft, the 2-person beds were very small as well. For those reasons I did not sleep well and felt my back ache in the morning. As a good night's rest is crucial in my opinion, I had to reduce my rating with 2 stars. No matter how great the facilities and the rooms are, a proper bed is the most important aspect.
This hotel is quite dated, but clean, comfortable bed. The staff is really nice and helpful, the breakfast is good. I'm rating 3/5 mostly because the price per night, I just don't think it's worth it.
We have been here twice now for two family events which draw relatives from east and west coasts and the heartlands. This is such a family friendly place with nice simple rooms, lots for kids to do, many relaxing common areas, a generous and delicious breakfast, and wonderful staff. What could be very stressful travel times have been relaxed, and we all have great memories of our time together.
The hotel is located next to Highway 101, as you head North out of San Francisco. It is modelled on a motel, with a ground floor and 1st floor accommodation. We had an downstairs Executive room, which was set back from the swimming pool and was reasonably quiet. You can park your car right outside your front door. The room was well presented, with a large king size bed, sofa and footstool and a desk and chair to work from. The room had a refrigerator and coffee machine, which also provided hot water for tea. It was a compact bathroom which had a shower/bath and toilet. The wash basin was situated in the bedroom, which worked very well. Each bedroom has its own Xinfity tv console, which allows access to a wide variety of tv and films. It also provides your wifi, which does not work in the restuarant or pool area. There was lots of USB points in the room, which is a great bonus nowadays, for all thegear you have to charge. There is no safe in the room, but a safety deposit box can be obtained free of charge at reception. We found the bed to be very comfortable and in general the room was very quiet, but if you are on the ground floor, you can hear the occupants in the room above moving around their room. Breakfast was included in our room rate and this was located in large diner on the complex. The breakfast ranged from juices, cereals, oatmeal, waffle machine, pastries, bagels, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, coffee on tap. Free newspaper. The staff ensured everything was hot and well stocked, only issue was the paper plates and plastic cutlery. The staff at reception were really helpful and they advised us, there was nine restuarants over the road in the Town Center shopping mall, which was two hundred yards away from the hotel. We stayed for four nights and had meals in different ones, which were to a very high standard and variety. Ideal location to travel out to all the major tourist attractions of Napa, Muir woods, etc. Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
We have been staying at the inn for about thirty years. It has been our home base when entertainment, business or medical needs bring us to the city. we also have enjoyed the shopping within walking distance. However way back when, the personal touch by someone kept the hotel top notch (a light breakfast basket and the paper were brought to our room and the rose garden was lovely). Sadly, the inn is getting thread bare and though some of the perks are still offered, the restaurant being closed and the breakfast being so mundane and the rooms in need of work makes us wish that that someone was still looking over the place.
Built 60 or so years ago you can see this was quite the place before the Freeway was built. Now located right off the 101 this is motel is run by Best Western and has multiple non- traditional amenities. (Large Pool, putting green, hot tub & basketball court) Location - very close to a mall with lots of food and retail options. Property is also directly across from a gas station with mini mart. Noise from freeway was not too bad in rooms, but loud in certain parts of property. Accommodations - you can see they have upgraded certain parts of rooms, but definitely a "Motel" (FYI - no elevators to upstairs rooms). Value - if you need to be in this area it has a very good central location. Marin is a very upscale zipcode so you are going to pay top dollar. Breakfast included (630-930), coffee available in reception till 10am. Did not get to use pool as it was closed for maintenance. Staff was pleasant
Overpriced and underwhelming. At around $200 per night I was disappointed to find: no bar, no restaurant, a makeshift diner serving breakfast on paper plates alongside plastic cutlery. Sub-standard and shoddy.
I was in the area for a 50-mile mountain ultramarathon. Comfortable accommodations before and after the race were very important. I made a great choice by staying here. The staff were great, and the room amenities perfect for my purposes.
Our room was small and loud. Right near the street. For four of us it was cramped. Fortunately we did not spend much time there. The hot tub was downright gross. Lukewarm and stinky. Didn't even stick a toe in it. The kids did and told me it was not warm. Yuck. The only reason this review is getting above average is Kyle- he works the front desk and was the most helpful and friendly person we met. He went out of his way to be gracious, kind and helpful. He will go far in life with his great attitude. Hopefully not at Best Western....someone hire him!
Clean spacious room, comfortable beds, nice small balcony, just generally very good. Heat/cooling a bit hard to control - very responsive but room would get quite cool when we lowered heat and get a bit too warm when we put it up but not a big problem.
Good hotel, very friendly and very efficient staff, excellent location at the exit of the highway and in front of a shopping mall with many options to eat. varied and abundant breakfast with savory and sweet, hot and cold options. the facility is very nice but is dated and really needs to be renovated. if it was renovated it would be excellent. I stayed with my family and we loved it, so I recommend it to everyone
Scheduled to go to Yosemite, but our reservation was cancelled due to the Ferguson fire. Left with no where to stay until we were due to arrive at BW Corte Madera in 3 days. Despite checking the website and finding no rooms available, called the hotel directly, to our surprise they had one available. Cannot thank the staff enough for helping us out of a tough situation.
Quaint motor inn with good location, but rooms and facilities are worn and dated. Did the job needed, but was expecting more given all the glowing reviews. Our room needed paint and the pool area could use a good cleaning. Basketball court was cute and breakfast looked adequate.
We were greeted with a friendly smile and there was a toss up as to be on the second floor as opposed to the first. The staff recommended the first floor since we would be close to the pool and a short walking distance to the breakfast parlor. The room was clean and comfortable. Lots of outlets for your portables. Had a refrigerator and flat screen TV, but no microwave oven. There is also a Keurig coffee maker with 3 choices; regular, decaf coffee and tea. The large pool looked inviting with lounges surrounding. Kids were in there having a great time. The breakfast parlor used to be a restaurant. No hunting for a place to seat 4 people together. No hunting for a place to seat 4 people together. No hunting for a place to seat 4 people together. There was a standard assortment to choose from.
My family was visiting for a wedding and the staff was very friendly. They offered a great continental breakfast and for my elderly parents special rooms for disabled people ( equipped with shower grab bars etc..). We had a wonderful stay and I would come back.
This hotel is a restored resort with Olympic size pool, barbecue area and golf putting green. The design minimizes the noise of the interstate. It's easy to get to and close to San Francisco without the city pricing. Lots of choices of great restaurants nearby too. I stay here when traveling whenever I can
We were really pleasantly surprised by this hotel, it has a brilliant large pool, fantastic hot tubs, small putting green, shuffle board, basket ball court and plenty of space. The breakfast is good and the rooms are clean and modern. It's just outside San Fran and situated right next door to a good shopping centre, if you are looking for a great bargain with great service and facilities especially if you have children then this is the hotel for you. Book direct though, don't use the usual booking sites as we found they were quoting almost double the rate we could get by speaking to the hotel direct.
Our stay is always medical related...once a month and to have a place that is friendly, clean and reliable is important during stressful times...Staff are always respectful, understanding and knowledgable...making our stay always feels like home...
Great hotel, my family and I could not have picked a better place to stay. We used the pool, ate free breakfast every day, used the pool and hot tub every day. We loved every minute of it. It was convenient to be close to restaurant and mall as well.
We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2018. Hotel was great. Our room was very clean. There were 5 of us staying in the room, so we had a rollaway bed for our teen son. He said it was very comfortable (he is 6 ft tall) and there was plenty of space in the room for us to keep it open for our entire stay. Bathroom was spacious and water pressure in shower was good. There was an additional bar and sink in the living area, which was very helpful when all five of us had to get up and out in the morning. Hotel amenities are great. The pool area is wonderful. Lots of tables and lounge chairs, shuffleboard and ping pong. Just outside the pool area is a basketball court (which my 2 sons LOVED), putting green and lots of picnic tables and seating areas to relax. The breakfast was great. Hot food selections changed each morning and they were always good. Lots of breads, pastries, waffles, bagels, etc, And topping options were plentiful. The breakfast is served in a separate building, which used to be a standalone restaurant, so there is plenty of seating. This hotel is a great option if visiting San Francisco. There is shuttle service to the ferry or it is an easy drive into the city if you have a car. Just be careful when parking, in the city. Car break-ins are an epidemic in San Francisco. Do not leave anything valuable in the car whatsoever!!! FYI, parking at the hotel felt very safe! Definitely recommend!!!!!
This was a long awaited bike trip and this was the last stop on our trip. The Inn was excellent, relaxing and comfortable. We found the room relaxing, quiet, and just what we needed. The staff was helpful and generous with their time.
Very satisfied with this hotel! First of all the service was excellent,check-in was quick and easy and the staff were always pleasant and helpful with requests and directions. We were a family of 3 and booked the queen and double bed room. The room was located on the 2nd floor (garden building)and had a nice balcony where you could enjoy a cup of coffee made from the coffee machine provided in the room. Room amenities aside from the coffee machine, include an iron, ironing board, small ref, hairdryer, flatscreen tv,cable tv. Bathroom toiletries were complete: shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion ( toothbrush & toothpaste as per request) The hotel has a nice pool and gym as well as a heated outdoor jacuzzi in the garden building area. Very clean and well maintained grounds. Breakfast every morning consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, choice of assorted cereals, assorted bread, muffins, croissants, yoghurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal, coffee, tea, orang juice. Conveniently, there is a town center right across the hotel called Corte Madera Town Center with restaurant options, cafés,retail clothing stores,Safeway supermarket, and a big sporting goods store called REI. Also,a Whole Foods Store is also walking distance from the hotel. (Use google maps to get directions) Public transportation is easily accessible. You may take the bus to the city or have yourself brought via best western's shuttle or uber to nearby Larkspur Landing to take the ferry to fisherman's wharf. I liked everything about the hotel,it was cozy and had a homey feel. I hope management continues to maintain the quality of its service; update and maintain the hotel rooms and grounds; improve its breakfast inorder to continue to keep their clientele happy and satisfied!
This is the 4th year my company has held an employee event in the conference room at this Best Western. Raul and his team are top notch. Very helpful, accommodating and constantly ensuring that all logistics and details are being handled. We are very happy with their service and the facility
We stayed here our first night of our vacation and it was the best of our whole trip. They have toys for kids at the pool including a basketball net. Breakfast is wonderful! It set a high standard for the rest of the trip that no other hotel lived up to.
We have never stayed at this Hotel before , but noticed it was close to a shopping center and had to go back to San Francisco again the next day. Loved the place , it had all of what someone would want , plus easy access on & off the freeway.
This property is conveniently located off southbound Hwy 101, with easy on/off access. It's right off the freeway but is quiet and cozy. Rooms make you feel like you're in a cabin and not minutes away from a major city. Free breakfast in the mornings is a bonus and there's an outdoor shopping mall area within walking distance with restaurants and stores. The Wifi is spotty at best (too many guests using it). Perfect for families since it has a heated outdoor pool and outdoor BBQ and picnic area. I will stay there again.
Found this Best Western top side of San Francisco as it was Monday Memorial Day weekend traffic was busy. Stayed 2 nights caught the ferry over to S F for the day, hotel has a courtesy bus, drop & pick up. Staff very friendly & helpfull. Rooms are good. Good eateries across the road
Bathroom is small with almost no counter space, but the living area has a sink next to the refrigerator/microwave with a large counter and mirror with excellent lighting. The hotel is a couple of hundred yards from the 101 but we weren't bothered by traffic noise. If you're a super light sleeper it might be problematic, but we didn't hear anything from adjacent rooms which were occupied. If I'm worried about noise, I turn the a/c fan to run constantly but the units in the bedroom and living area didn't have a fan only setting. Full breakfast with bacon, sausage and eggs that didn't taste like they were prepared the night before. The property is at least 40 years old but is fairly well maintained and the housekeeping staff is excellent.
This was a great place to stay. The staff was nice the room was clean and larger than a normal hotel. The breakfast was delicious. It was a great visit. Thank you! It would be good for kids... The pool was nice!
This hotel had great service at the desk. They have a free shuttle that is 5 minutes from the ferry. The breakfast is fabulous and the service was great there too. The rooms were very clean but are outdated. I'd highly recommend staying here.
We were so pleased with this hotel. It is right off the highway and a short drive to Muer Woods. There is shopping right across the street with lots of choices for dinner as well as a supermarket. We ate at Pacific Catch which was awesome. The room was large with a fridge and wet bar. We didn't have time to use the pool but it looked lovely. Everything was very clean and the staff was welcoming and helpful with local information. And the hot breakfast in the morning was easy with lots of choices.
The hotel is beautiful. The location is excellent. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The pool is amazing. There is a wonderful mall across the street with many restaurants. It is probably one of the nicest hotels in the area.
The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, I wish I could have stayed longer! The room was clean and comfortable. The lobby was nice, breakfast was really nice in a separate building with lots of selections. There are upscale shopping and several restaurants right across the street. Across the highway is a huge mall. Hotel is close to the ferry taking you to SF. You can take the hotel shuttle there, or it's $2 to park at the ferry. Ferry cost was $11.75 each way. The staff at this hotel were very nice and helpful, I would absolutely come back here.
Has everything that you and a family would need. Check in was easy, staff friendly, free shuttle to local restaurants. Huge pool. Highly recommended. Convenient to everything. Very clean and comfortable hotel.
I was under a lot of stress on this trip and it was very comforting to stay where professionalism is top notch. It became apparent on our first stay that the employees take a great deal of pride in both Best Western Corte Madera Inn and their positions there. That is the reason we return every time we are in the area.
customer service was amazing and we felt welcomed with extremely helpful staff not only at check in but through out the stay. The grounds give you a resort feeling ,and being able to sit on my little back veranda with a coffee every morning made this feel like a special holiday! Rooms large enough, nicely stocked with coffee, tea , toiletries. Bed was perfect for a good night sleep! Easy drive to do all the San Francisco things, and so accessible to Marin County . EXCELLENT !
Located right off the highway. Shopping and restaurants near by. The lobby is comfortable to relax in while waiting for other guests. Water and coffee are available. The buffet breakfast was just okay. A large variety and plenty of seating. The temperature of the food could certainly been hotter and the room could have been cleaner. The bed was comfortable and the room was large. Pleasant decor. The room smelled of cleaners though. You do get used to it. The staff were all pleasant and very helpful.
A location near friends. Had stayed here before and happy to return. Location just right for my trip. Given a room where I preferred and enjoyed the stay. Will stay here next time I'm in the area. Good value.
This motel is very clean, well maintained. The staff is helpful and cheerful and knowledgeable. Beautiful flowers all around add to a pleasant experience. Maid service is top-notch as best I know. Complementary breakfast is complete with hot well-prepared food. Shuttle service to shopping centers and the ferry terminal is prompt and quite helpful. This place is highly recommended.
We were here for 3 nights and had few complaints. The room was small but clean, bathroom tiny. It could use more horizontal space. We had one of the rooms with an inset back porch with chairs and a table. Watched the birds in the evening from here. Nice! The breakfast buffet was good and reliable. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Right across the street from Town Center, new retail and food area featuring a very nice Starbucks that we went to each morning. Very convenient and out of the craziness of the Bridge area. Glad we found it.
We stayed in a family suite for a wedding. The suite was perfect for our family of 4--a king room and a double room (2 beds) with sliding doors for privacy, plus a shared bathroom. The wedding party had booked a block of rooms, and our extended family were able to get together often in the large courtyard where there were picnic tables, putting green, pool, shuffleboard, and a basketball court. The breakfast room was also large (a former restaurant), so everyone could gather there to eat a large, hot breakfast. A great stay.
While the site is clean and comfortable, it is the high quality of the staff that makes this hotel so special. They were friendly, helpful and anticipated my needs. The room was very comfortable. I'll stay here again.
Super yummy every time... love all the choices of authentic Chinese food. Orange chicken is always a good choice. Service with a smile. Have great outdoor seating also. Bring your appetite and be prepared to enjoy.
Helpful and friendly staff, excellent location across from restaurants and mall, easy access to freeway, extremely comfortable bed and nicely appointed room. Breakfast was decent and offered a variety of choices, enough for our party.
Had a lovely stay. sure it's dated - but the rooms are clean, staff is friendly, includes free breakfast, and pool area is great - with table tennis, basketball area, workout room, and large hot tub. Breakfast served 6:30a-9:30a, eggs, sausage, bacon, waffle machine, nice oatmeal spread, yogurt, danish, breads and fruit - the usual BW spread. Ckout was noon, extending to 1p. Arrived back very late on a Saturday, and there was still plenty of parking. Small mall across the street. 10min ride to Sweetwater Music Hall. Stayed in an executive suite. Fridge, no microwave. A pleasant stay, will be back.
I love this hotel with its very large executive rooms, good breakfast, caring staff. Check-in is easy. Location is terrific. You can walk easily to the shopping center with great restaurants and shops.
The value of this hotel in the bay area is good. Mattresses need to be updated. Pool and hot tub are nice. The staff is very helpful and kind. This property is located right next to the corte madera center which has anything you could possible need.
Just spent one night in Marin County and stayed here at the Best Western. Room was about what I anticipated, although it was a bit older than I realized. The bed was comfortable and room was fine, just not updated, especially the bathroom area. The room was not overly expensive and the breakfast was good. Close to the freeway and within walking distance to a nice shopping center that includes a grocery store, drug store, restaurants, etc.
Hotel is good value and great location. Restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Easy access off highway. Clean rooms, great staff, outdoor hot tub was great as well. I will definitely be back to this hotel when I come back to the area.
My family and I recently stayed here a 3rd time as it is close to my best friend's house. What makes this most recent visit stand out is that I left a very sentimental gold charm necklace accidentally in the room. Although it took me a week to figure out where I had possibly left it, it only took Christina from the front desk 5 min to call me back and confirm that house keeping had my necklace. I have such great appreciation for the honestly of the hotel's cleaning staff and for the hotel management staff to be so responsive and helpful! Each stay at the hotel has always been very positive as it is a nice hotel that has large and clean rooms with good wifi, but the staff is great and that makes a difference!
Corte Madera is a great base camp for the bay area. Close to ferry at Larkspur the crabbing boats for fresh Dungeness and the great restaurants and shopping area at north bay. The hotel is clean and quiet. After a day of walking and sightseeing the salt water pool and large whirlpool can't be beat!
This is our FAVORITE Best Western for a free shuttle to the Larkspur Ferry into San Francisco! Amazing experience!!! Great service, room quality and breakfast. We love the view from the room balcony! Must visit!
My family and I stayed at the Best Western Corte Madera Inn this past weekend in a family suite. We arrived late in the evening on Friday, and there was an employee laying or sleeping on the lobby couch at check in. Check in was quick and easy with my keys already made for me. The family suite is in a separate building at the back of the property. While the suite is spacious (with one space with two full beds and a different space with door with a king sized bed), it was old and in desperate need of renovation. I'm going to attach pictures, but everything was that old yellowy hue, and the carpet was so matted from age and wear. Parts of the shower wall was peeling off, which showed the original tile under the slap on bath renovation. In the morning, breakfast was a delight, though in another building that's older and could use some updating. The breakfast itself was abundant with lots of healthy and unhealthy options. My kiddos were very excited about the Nutella packets! On the walk back to our room, my kiddos played mini golf, and we checked out the outdoor pool (unheated) and basketball court. I also saw they have a laundry room, which would have come in handy if we'd been there longer. We tried calling the Front Desk a couple times; on one phone, the phone wouldn't dial out, and on the other, no one answered. The second morning we were there, we needed a microwave as we had so many leftovers from a delicious family meal the day before. I called the Front Desk to see if I could use a microwave somewhere. Instead, within minutes, they brought us a microwave for our use! So impressed with that kind of service! The hotel is the right price and is close to San Francisco, Muir Woods, and other sights. I just wish it were renovated a little as I really did feel like we stepped into the 1970s. Overall, service was courteous, but the room needs help. We will probably try out other properties before returning here.
We stayed here on the way to SF. The only problem with the hotel is the breakfast area. There really is not one. For such a lovely property and lobby the breakfast area was the size of a small bedroom (10x12) maybe a bit more for the area where the lovely staff prepared the food. Not the best food either as BW's go. Fine for one night, but I would have looked else where if a longer stay was needed.
We love the heated salt water pool, and the ping pong table! My husband thinks of it as a resort stay. The grounds are very pleasant. We love having the separate restaurant for the breakfast, and the grandkids love the mini golf/putting green!
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and toddler for leisure purposes. The front desk person, Kyle, was really friendly and helpful and even offered us a complimentary upgrade so our room wasn't so close to the highway. We also asked for an extra blanket during our stay and received it quickly. The room and bed were comfortable. Toddler slept well. The heating system was fast and pretty quiet. No problems with internet. Breakfast was in the building next to the lobby and had lots of options including waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt (I was glad to see plain yogurt offered), pastries, cereal, fruit. The breakfast building was a little chilly (I don't think they heat it at night), but we just wore sweatshirts to breakfast and we were fine. The only things I wish we had were a blow dryer in the room and curtains (there were shutters on the windows and they actually did a pretty decent job, I just wore an eye mask and slept fine).
I have stayed at this particular Best Western a few times now. I am always greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Breakfast is a nice variety of Eggs. protein (Sausage or bacon, sometime both) , fruit, waffles, pastries, oatmeal, cereal and good coffee, They offer shuttle, if needed. The grounds are well cared for and there are good restaurants within walking distance for dinner.
The staff are the best!!!! I can walk around to the wetlands, eat poke, ribs, burger s, shop at Safeway. The front desk staff are so gracious , helpful and friendly... what more could one want? There's a pool and maybe an owl living in the tree above the bbq... c' Mom it's a great place!!!
My wife and I stayed for one night to visit Muir Woods. This property is a great value. It is not brand new, but very well kept, clean, and inviting. Although it is off the 101 freeway, we could not hear any traffic noise. It is next to an upscale outdoor shopping mall with great casual places to eat. The breakfast included eggs, sausage, hash brown, french toast, fresh apples, bananas, yogurt, bagels, coffee, juice, tea, self-serve waffles, and, in my opinion, worth about $15 per person. This property is an all around great value with an exceptionally friendly staff.
Great hotel and great value. LOTS to do for the kids. I wish we stayed another night just so they could do things around the hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Hot breakfast included and staff was great!
We stayed a few nights and it was nice. The room was small but comfortable. There is a heated pool but we didn't use as outside was too cold. Breakfast is good, enough choices. Check in and check out was efficient and staff was very friendly. Will come back to this place.
After two trips across country, staying in Bed Westerns, I can say Corte Madera is my favorite. The rooms all have outdoor entrees in fact my room had two, a front door and a back door leading out to the Superior Courtyard. The pool is fabulous, it's huge and always very well maintained!
I always stay at the Best Western Corte Madera Inn because it's quiet, clean, comfortable, and the staff is very helpful. The staff go out of their way to be helpful, which I really appreciate. Because of this, I always choose to stay at the Corte Madera Inn.
On the 27th of November I arrived at this Best Western around 11:30 pm. I had been driving many hours. Upon my arrival I went to the temporary lobby setup around back. I asked for a room with 2 queen beds. With much hesitation an older male front desk clerk located some availability. I had to mention that there was vacancy online. He stated a price, and I told him that I had seen it online for less to just give me a five minutes and I would purchase it myself to save. The clerk got so irritated that I wanted to save money that he refused service and told me I belonged at the travel lodge across the street. I was so flabbergasted. I have never experienced a customer service rep of such poor quality! I drove in the opposite direction about 10 miles and stayed at the Novato Best Western instead. I would not recommend this hotel while they have such poor employees representing their establishments!!
Very nice old school motel. Rooms dated but ckean an functional. Internet good, location really good in central southern Marin. Downstairs rooms have nice outside patios with chairs. Really nice staff all around. It was interesting to stay at hotel in small town I grew up in.
Rooms were clean. Staff very friendly. Great location next to shops. Breakfast was awesome, my kids loved the breakfast and so did we. Price was a little on the high side. It was thanksgiving week, but still rather high for BW.
This is a nice place to stay, beautiful property and grounds, clean rooms, excellent staff. Within a short walk are numerous restaurants and shopping opportunities, and a nice mall just across highway 101.
We picked this location because we saw other reviews that is was a good family place and great for kids. We particularly wanted the experience of the heated pool and the outdoor fire pit or fireplace. Even though the website says there is a heated pool, the pool is not heated. There was a renovation going on in the lobby so it was messy and we could not lounge there near the fireplace. There is no mention on the website of a renovation. The pictures on the website are way better than the place in person. Also you can not use the outside fire pit on a cloudy day! This area has lots of cloudy days! This place did not live up to the reviews we saw. This rooms were clean and a good size. The free breakfast was good but you can get these things lots of other places for less money.
This property has it all. Great location and service to the Larkspur Ferry for the world traveler, The staff goes above and beyond the name of service. There is world class shopping and dining right out your door. We have visited this property at least once a year....we love it.
Very nice hotel, the front desk people are very helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to honor special request. The beds are amazing, so comfortable. There are places across the street to dine along with a small shopping center.
I travel to Marin County weekly for work. I have stayed at the Best Western a number of times and will continue to return. The staff is very helpful and professional. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The property's location with respect to freeway access, proximity to San Francisco, and value cannot be matched.
Did not feel safe. The room was clean but dark and dingy and the breakfast was not good. I stayed only one night. There are few options in the area. The location is great as it is near sites and good restaurants nearby. It was not what I expected given the affluence of the area.
Easy to get to just off the 101. Nice room, comfortable bed and a generous breakfast buffet made this a perfect stay to make our flight out of SFO the following day painless. Staff at check in was very friendly and helpful, giving us a great recommendation for dinner.
We stayed in the garden building and it was lovely! Probably the most comfortable bed of our 2 week trip to California. The room itself was very nice and spacious with a high ceiling and very nice ambiance. Enjoyed the additional kitchen-like area where there was another sink, fridge and Keurig available to use. Also used the awesome outdoor 25m pool which was great for doing laps - not something you often see at hotels. Breakfast was also a good selection. It was pricey, but seemed to be the going market rate in this area at the time.
On arrival we realised this hotel was a gem. Close to excellent shops and restaurants with courtesy transportation to Larkspur and the San Francisco ferries. The room was clean well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were courteous really efficient and overall made our stay very enjoyable.Having a heated pool close to the city was a real bonus.
Hotel was in a great location. The rooms were a little dated though they were clean. Very friendly staff and great breakfast. Meeting room space was very nice and all touch points were guest centered.
We were headed to Santa Rosa after traveling down the Oregon Coast when the wildfires broke out & we had to change plans on short notice. Since we were flying home from Oakland we decided on a Sausalito visit. Found this BW which was a short drive to both & easy to access as it was just off the exit. Room was nice with a second door exiting onto a pretty courtyard with a putting green. Breakfast was much better than any hotel that includes breakfast and the breakfast room was really the size of a restaurant. Beautiful lobby & friendly staff. Definitely a more upscale BW that would be appropriate for a longer stay. Nice pool too. I would definitely stay here again.
I have stayed at this hotel twice and will continue to do so.The hotel is located across from the Corte Madera Town Center which has great restaurants and shopping. The rooms are clean and well furnished, The staff is great like you would expect from Best Western - this is my go to place when I have business in San Rafael.
A nice hotel/motel place close to Muir Woods. The rooms were clean and tidy and are mainly all arranged around a central garden area with a large pool and hot tub. The kids loved the pool and the adults loved the hot tub. The hot tub was very hot and open late in the evening which was nice. Breakfast was included in our price and buffet style. The hotel is close to a large shopping area with a large supermarket (Safeway) and restaurants to eat out.
this facility is dated back to the 1960's. Rooms are in dire need of upgrading, small toilet bowls, old carpeting, noisy hallways, cramped parking stalls. Good location is the only compliment that can be given. Close to shopping and dining.
The hotel itself was nice but the night desk clerk Michael was unbelievably rude. I had left my key in my room and when I called to get a new one he gave me a hard time. When I complained to him about his attitude he said if I don't like it I can check out. So he was willing to have the hotel he worked at lose 3 nights of business so he wouldn't have to be kind or accommodating. I let him know that I'd file a complaint and his parting words of maturity were, "what are you going to do, call your mommy?" Where do they get these guys?
My "Deluxe" room had a tiny bathroom with a small stand-up shower in it--no bath tub. The room itself was slightly larger than a typical BW room, so perhaps it was a deluxe, but for $245 at a BW, I would have expected a lot nicer. No liner for the ice bucket and I question if the glass cups provided had been freshly washed. The coffee maker worked fine but the TV remote was glitchy with the volume button. Probably won't stay here again unless I it's about half of what I paid.
The room was large, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The grounds were well groomed. I would stay here again in the future. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There are great restaurants and a couple of shopping centers close by. Easy access to the freeway.
This is an older, low-rise property. It is very well-maintained and has nicely landscaped grounds including a pool, basketball court, gas barbeque and an outdoor conversation pit with a gas-firepit. The one thing that needs to be noted is it has two floors and NO ELEVATOR. If it had an elevator I would give it 5 stars.
Convenient, clean, very nice pool, great breakfast. Very good location - across the street from a high end shopping center with restaurants, etc. Movie theatre around the corner; yet quiet. Freeway very close.
I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. We had very professional people on staff, had a hot breakfast every morning and a general great overall feel for our stay. The hotel is a little dated in comparing to modern hotels but hey make up for that in excellent service and hospitality. I stayed there for a week with my wife and we both enjoyed that we were close enough that we could go to San Francisco with no issues and still stay in the area for nights when we did not want to run as much. Quality place to stay.
Stayed at the end of our vacation and a great place to wind down. Got the same room as previous years. Rooms have been updated with new decor and furnishings. Breakfast has improved since our last stay two years ago. Plenty of choice from - fruit, cereals, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, French Toast, yoghurt, waffles to make, toast/ bagels, fruit juices, pastries as well as tea/coffee, milk. Kept well stocked right up to closing time. We were there when the wild fires were happening so the hotel filled up. No change to service though. The pool is very nice - a good size, reasonably heated and hot tub plus another hot tub on site and is set in a well-kept garden area with seating areas and games. The pool was quiet when we were there this time. Other years a swimming club has used it so busier then. Easy to get to the interstate and local shopping areas, as well as San Francisco and surrounding areas. Not too much noise from the road. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Hotel services and location was excellent. Staff was attentive and very helpful to 1st California visitors. The breakfast was very good. Location was great for us, short ride to San Fran and convenient for other sites, Napa & Muir Woods
I was @ the Corte for a business meeting and warmly welcomed by the reception staff. The setting was close to being a resort with large outdoor swimming pool, basketball court, putting green and cozy fire pits. Only meal served was an ok breakfast buffet, but there were several good restraints within walking distance at the nearby town center. Just make sure you stick to the crosswalks as there can be some fast moving traffic nearby...but the drivers respect people in the crosswalks
This place is AWESOME! LOVE all the fun stuff they have on the grounds: Shuffleboard! Ping Pong! Putting green! Fire pit! Huge pool with a basketball hoop! SO much fun for families! Such a nice change from just watching TV after a day of touring!
Have been back with family and now with friends multiple times. Has so much to offer - location, amenities- pool, hot tub, outdoor basketball court, picnic tables and more, good breakfast. Plus we get BW rewards!!
The room had a porch facing the pool and garden. Wicker chairs made it a pleasant place to sit. The room was large with a comfortable bed and good pillows. Seating area with a table and chairs. Ironi and ironing board which I actually used. The room could use some updating to make its brighter space. The bathroom was adequate but with an extremely loud fan (connected with the light) so one mostly used the space in the dark. One other drawback was the thermostat which refused to change the room temperature no matter what I tried so I turned it off.The breakfast was really good - especially the oatmeal and scrambled eggs. The food is served in an adjacent building which obviously had been a restaurant in the past. The good food made up for the rather sparse and odd space. The front desk staff was really great - especially Cristina.
This hotel is always booked out and now I know why. Excellent check in and service. Room was so clean, bathroom sparkling. The bed was almost too comfortable! Spacious large room with window overlooking the pool area, just a gem. Refrigerator, Keurig, microwave and extra sink make up all of the needed amenities. Wifi was very good. I would definitely stay here again, if I can ever get a room.
The hotel was nice, staff was friendly and it was very convenient being right off the freeway. The bed was absolutely horrible. I maybe slept for about 3 hours. It was way too soft and bouncy. We had booked our room with a king size bed, and when she had “upgraded” our room, it was with a queen size bed.
A little bit older hotel but nice and kept up very well. Updated Rooms with comfortable beds. Great Free Breakfast. The commute across the Golden Gate Bridge every day to Pier 39 area was not bad at all. My Family and I would stay her again.
A convenient stop for family visits to Marin. Rooms and bathrooms always clean. Cooling and heating system are easy to operate and efficient. Front desk personnnel are helpful, friendly, and offer good recommendations re checkin options.
My husband and I stayed here as part of our move out of state, and were treated like visiting royalty by Nora at the front desk. Very helpful with parking for moving truck. When she heard we would be on the road too early for breakfast, she ordered two go boxes for us to take with us the next morning. The hotel is nicely appointed, cute and spotlessly clean, but it was Nora who warrants the 5 stars.
The room was very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located by the freeway and has a mall within easy walking distance. The mall has lots of restaurants and a Safeway. I requested a microwave because there wasn't one in my room. The free breakfast is ok, but I preferred to stock the room fridge for breakfast and snacks. The front desk staff were very helpful.
There was a man staff who was bad in service and his attitude at the front desk, but the other staff apologized on the next day. The breakfast was delicious but just few items could choose. Overall, I think everything is good.
Super friendly and professional staff. rooms are clean. good fitness center with an Olympic size swimming pool that is heated. Very close to shopping and dining whether you want to walk across the street or drive five minutes across the freeway
The service and cleanliness of this hotel were very good. Enjoyed staying here and liked the proximity to San Francisco. The breakfast offerings were good and well prepared. Nice pool and hot tubs, didn't get a chance to use them though.
We were attending a wedding in Ross and this hotel was convenient to both the wedding and reception. The front of the building isn't anything special but the lobby is very nice and would be a great place to sit and read. The room was small but nicely appointed, bed was too soft for us and the bed linens thin and need to be replaced. Most of the rooms have a small outside sitting areas and I wish we had had time to enjoy a cup of coffee out there. The grounds have a lawn area and tall shade trees that make it look peaceful and relaxing despite being able to hear highway noise. For shoppers a large shopping center with both Nordstroms and Macy's are just a short distance away. We though the room rates were high for a weekday.
We stayed at the Best Western Corte Madera Inn and when we walked into the lobby for the first time we were amazed at how nice it was. The staff was courteous, helpful and knowledgeable about great restaurants in the area. We spent our weekend hiking in Muir Woods and other coastal trails and it was nice to return to the hotel where we could lounge by the outdoor fire pit, the pool and out private patio which allowed us unrestricted access to the lush green landscaping.
Nice property, great location and nice rooms. We had 5 rooms for our Cross Country Team and it was an excellent place to stay. Close to Shopping and Restaurants. Also close to Marin Headlands and Golden Gate Bridge.
Easy on -off of the 101...wonderful swimming pool and lovely grounds. Breakfast was very good. Our room was very comfortable and quiet even though it was very close to the 101. Have stayed here two times for a total of 6 days...always a great place.
We stayed 1 night and were a late arrival and early departure, therefore we weren't able to explore the amenities of this property. Overall we can't wait to come back and stay longer. The pool was huge and had a basketball hoop! It was great to see a large property have a large pool to help avoid overcrowding in the warm months. As for the room it was very clean and decorated nicely. Would prefer a queen bed rather than a double. Loved how the shower had no shower curtain, personally I hate shower curtains. Breakfast was good, but overall would like to see more healthy options offered. The staff was helpful and friendly.
We travel as two families Two couples with one kid We book this hotel very last minute We had a family suit which is two bedrooms that give us pretty good privacy I am surprised that they have mini golf and two hot tub on site They also have some pool toys and table tennis on site Very good for family with kids The room is a little dated but bed is pretty comfortable
We had a lovely stay at Corte Madera. Lovely clean, quite accommodation. We sadly weren't at the hotel long enough to use many of the facilities, but breakfast was good. The staff on reception were very helpful and provided us with information about the local area and where best to find a place to eat for dinner. I would recommended this hotel.
We were just here for overnight. The staff is friendly, the room is clean, and the experience is good. Although this is not a new hotel, it is a good stop in Northern California. It is located right near the freeway for easy access and near a mall.
Best Ever. Best Western Rocks!! Nothing even comes close. Mot superb customer service. I will NOT stay at any other place whenever I travel. I ALWAYS receive High Quality Service and Rooms whenever I stay. Love It!!
convenient place with ample parking and easy access to freeway. Great pool. Should get restaurant back working again. breakfast ok, but would be easy to improve. Staff is very friendly and professional
Excellent all around. Decor is dated but OK. Heat/AC is a bit of a mystery but it does work well. Not enough choice in settings and temp range. Need flashlight to read dial. Near freeway but one hardly hears it during the night, which is rather amazing considering location.
I just stayed here the location is fantastic next to two upscale shopping centers one is across the street the other across the freeway and they will take you there as well as to the Ferry Boat to San Francisco CA in Larkspur. The staff is nice the rooms are clean and there is a fantastic large pool which is heated they have changing facilities and other recreational opportunities also as well as a workout room. The breakfast is included in the price and very nice, too. All in all this was a nice one night getaway for me.
This is the second year we've stayed at this hotel, and we really like it. The outdoor pool is only really comfortable if it's warm outside, but my kids seemed to like it. The room was comfy, all rooms have a terrace and a view, and there were nice amenities in the room. Even a jogging path nearby. Thumbs up for us!
We have stayed here now on two separate vacations (2011 and 2017) when visiting San Francisco. It is better value than hotels in town, the climate is that bit warmer so they have a nice outdoor pool, and the rooms have balconies or patios and are spacious enough to have two chairs. There is a fridge and coffee maker.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. The location was perfect - nice shops, hiking and restaurants within walking distance and an easy ferry ride to San Francisco. The grounds were beautiful and loved the pool, fire pit, mini golf and gorgeous greenery and flowers. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. It was completely sound proof from any outside noise. Also, every staff member was friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed with Kyle at the front desk who was so kind and helpful as I was figuring out a plan for the day. You can tell he truly cares about the guest's experience and takes a lot of pride in his work. I will definitely stay at the Corte Madera Best Western every time I make a trip to No Cal!!
The best part of this hotel is the beautiful grounds and pool. Also the location. It has a decent hot breakfast. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Individual balconies and patios are nice unless you are on the freeway side. Beds are comfortable, but our room needs updating. The price is high for the quality of the rooms.
We stayed here for 5 nights. The location is awesome, convenient to ferry! Hotel is very clean, but needs updating. Staff is awesome and helpful. Breakfast served daily, easy to get in and out quickly. Had a plumbing problem and the room was damp ad smelled like mildew. They were sold out so had to stay in the room and move the next day. Waiting to hear if we will be refunded for that night.
Great location for Bay area and Muir Woods visit. Could use updating, I expect more for over $200.00/night. Room larger than average, but smaller beds. Could barely shut bathroom door. Extra activities for children to keep busy.
The swimming pool was great. It had a dedicated lap area and a non lap area. Also had basket ball and putting green plus fitness center. breakfast was good. Bed was not comfortable. could not turn light on in bathroom without the fan staying on which I find annoying. drapes did not close to keep out all the light.
Quaint enough, convenient along 101, good breakfast. But WAY overpriced, feeling taken advantage of for traveling on business at vacation time...I'm a Diamond Best Western user and got no break whatsoever.
Nice place. It could use a little tic as to condition of upside carpeting. Also in the bathroom there wasn't a regular light. The in room Keurig coffee maker only had a couple of decaf pods and no decaf tea.
We truly enjoyed our summer vacation here. The whole pool area and the pool itself are gorgeous. A very family-friendly place with a nice garden. Breakfast is excellent, too, the only complaint: silverware and porcelain would be nice instead of plastic and cardboard: such a mountain of waste every morning in green California.
The Corte Madera Inn (Best Western) is clean, safe, and convenient to the freeway for travel. They offer a wonderful breakfast and the grounds have mature trees, green grass, putting green, basketball hoop and a huge pool. The beds are comfortable, and there are generously sized second-story room balconies - porches, really - that overlook the grounds!
Nice hotel away from bustle of San Francisco. Shuttle provided to/from Larkspur ferry to get into San Fran. Slight problem getting picked up on return but OK. Toilet blocked on last night but managed to clear it (has happened before to us at same hotel in 2011, reception didn't seem surprised. On Sat morning leased breakfast room out for a seminar, breakfast provided in lobby but insufficient tables. Generally small whinges, overall a nice hotel in a quiet area, next to shopping area.
We had a great 2 night stay here. A real 25m pool and also a hot tub. Very supportive staff at check-inn. The breakfast was good including both cold and hot eating. Large room. Walking distance to restaurants and mall. Driving into SF city was appr 20 minutes.
Great location just northeast of San Francisco over Golden Gate Bridge. Nicely decorated. Friendly and helpful staff. Provides free shuttle to / from the Larkspur Ferry. Took advantage of this service so we wouldn't have to ride our motorcycles back across the GGB.
Nice lodging in a good location in Marin county. Close to San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. Good restaurants and movie theatre with walking distance to hotel. Great staff! Very pleasant pool and courtyard for relaxing.
Lived in the area for many years, never knew what a beautiful property this was till today. Lovely large pool, putting green, basketball court. Great location. Room was clean and it had a small fridge, and table with two chairs. Clean with a nice balcony.
This Best Western has a basketball court and I was unfortunate enough to be located next to the basketball court. There was there were boys playing basketball constantly in the evening and starting at 7 a.m. in the morning so there was constant bouncing outside my room was not able to enjoy the balcony due to the bouncing. I was already situated in the room before the bouncing started so I did not want to pack up and move to another room.
This is a beautiful hotel. I always have good luck at a BW in California but this is one of the finest. Excellent staff, and a truly gorgeous pool. Big enough to really swim in ! My room was perfect, and the staff is A+.
No bottled water provided in guest rooms. Breakfast were bad for the price paid. Room numbers are too small, very had to see during the day and impossible to see at nights. The staff at front desk were friendly and helpful.
We stayed here as a quick stopping point, but wished we have been able to enjoy the hotel and take advantage of all the amenities. The pool looked fabulous, and the grounds were nice. The putting green was a nice addition, and the hotel is close to a lot of great places that would be nice for an extended stay.
There is nothing good I can say about this place. The breakfast was awful, the spa had too much chlorine, the bed was old and sagged. The hotel does not live up to the Best Western standard, more like a cheep motel. Really, stay at anther hotel.
Don't let the fact that it is close to the freeway deter you.....Once inside the grounds, its like a mini resort. Breakfast was amazing and delicious, the pool was olympic size and the grounds were just beautiful. Best nights sleep I have had in a long time.
Had a nice stay here. Nice location that is near shopping center and right off freeway. Free breakfast was good. Pool was nicely warmed and clean. Rooms looking into courtyard near pools are nice. Would stay again.
We were told that we booked a room in the courtyard by the pool 5 months in advance. When we arrived the room was not ready and had to wait 2 hours, which would have been no big deal if it was noon but this was at 4 pm. Finally when checked in and got stuck with a second-floor room in the very back of the hotel with a view of the parking lot.
Always accommodating, clean quiet rooms. One thing we do miss is breakfast brought to the room. The outdoor space around the pool is so peaceful even with the freeway so close. Close to shopping and SF.
I recommend this hotel. Very close to San Francisco. I go to UCSF at least 4x's a year and always stay here as it is less expensive than San Francisco and it is about 30 minutes away from the hospital depending on traffic. If you have children they have plenty of activities including the pool, basket ball hoops in pool, regular basket ball hoops, shuffle board, ping pong and mini golf
Wonderful stay...when life is a challenge and you need to have continual medical care with frequent long distance travel to hospitals and doctors it is important to have a comfortable and restful place to lay your head...the "BW Corte Madera Inn" has proved to be the place...
This is an older property but if your looking for the basics at a reasonable price with breakfast included - this is a safe, clean place to stay! Easily drive to Muir Woods or the beach or they will take you to the ferry stop and pick you up for free.
I used to stay here often when I had business in San Rafael. When I was planing a trip to Point Reyes recently I decided to make this my home for the night. It was nice to return to this property after all these years. The place has character and is located in a resort like setting near the Corte Madera Town Center. Our room had both a front and back door. The back door opened onto a lovely sitting area in a park like setting. During the evening I joined other fellow travelers around a cozy fire pit before turning in for the night. The next morning we enjoyed a complementary hot breakfast in what was once a restaurant located next door. The restaurant now appears to be used for hotel functions such as meetings and the guest breakfast. The place has a large pool, a putting green, a gym and a basket ball court as I recall. The room had a Keurig coffee maker and the WiFi was very reliable. The Best Western Corte Madera Inn is a great place to stay if you are visiting Marin County or nearby San Francisco.
I have stayed at too many Best Western to count and they all say they will do what they need to, to make your stay right. That means something will go wrong. I have stayed at the Corta Madera BW once or more times every year, from 2009-2017 and never had a problem. Staff was over helpful, room super clean and everything in the rooms and whole hotel worked. Great place to stay and huge mall right across the street.
Check in staff very helpful. Room quality average. Odor in room and beds not very confortable. Location good. On site restaurant only used for breakfast. Have to across busy freeway off ramp to get to the mall for lunch and dinner. Pool is nice size and gated area.
Great stay At Best Western! Loved the service and the rooms. The beds are so so comfy. Clean and welcoming. And let's not forget breakfast. It was So good! And they offered lots of breakfast choices for guests.
great place to stay and to explore marin county lush green area forest , heated pool , jacuzy ,morning breakfast , guest rooms , the staff was great, I will come back again to this same hotel , that's a promise to myself and my family ..
The hotel is clean, and full of amenities for families - pool, basketball court, putting green, good daily breakfast and well-informed and willing staff. The location is excellent for access to the highway.
Friendly, had warm chocolate chip cookies at front desk. Would stay their again. Swimming pool heated and very clean. Grounds nicely maintained. Breakfast was good parking good. Location very good. Nice
If you are willing to travel a little out of the city, this hotel is so worth it. I based my booking and stay from reviews here on Trip Advisor. I'm so glad I picked this hotel. It is my preferred place if/when I'm in this area again. ALL of the staff were very helpful and friendly....this includes guest check-in, maid service and restaurant staff. The grounds are as beautiful as they are impeccable. Flowers and foliage planted all around. When we stepped outside to go to breakfast, we enjoyed the breeze, the rising sun and the stroll around the pool to the restaurant. No signs of litter or trash. Just beauty. The rooms are updated and quite roomy. We had 4 people in our room and we all had space to set up our luggage and sprawl out a bit. The bathrooms were spacious as well. I like that they have an extra sink next to the bathroom. That way, one of us could brush our teeth while someone else was showering. They also have a Keurig in this area in case you need your coffee first thing in the morning. Our room was in the back of the property. It was always quiet. I never heard another guest until the morning of checkout. Across the street is a shopping center. We walked there several times for dinner. Great food anywhere we ate. The breakfast offered really did not change from day to day, but it was always good and filling. We plan to take advantage of several great amenities next time; heated pool, hot tubs, BBQ pit, fire pit. This time we just chilled in our room after many busy days of sightseeing, hiking and exploring.
The staff, particularly Nora & Eva, were extremely friendly and helpful in getting me a great room at a wonderful value. I was not only impressed with the quality and cleanliness of my room, but also with the huge pool area! I very much enjoyed swimming laps in the heated saline pool, and then relaxing in the spa. I will definitely stay at this hotel again when I'm in the area!
Wonderful. I will definitely stay again. I go to the Bay area on a regular basis for medical visits. This hotel is close to San Francisco and also close to great shopping. Someday, I may just come down for the shopping!
This was a very nice, very safe and cozy hotel. The property was easily located off the freeway, and was near several stores and restaurants. The staff was professional, pleasant, and eager to serve. The parking was adequate, even though the hotel was fully booked. I had a nice porch in the back with a couple of chairs overlooking a garden.
Best Western is a great hotel chain BUT the BEST Best Western has to be The BW Corte Madera Inn (Corte Madera CA). #1 reason is the staff such as Utshab at check-in. #2 Breakfast every morning - not continental style but a big bonanza of a breakfast, coffee, juice, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, waffles, oatmeal or cold cereal, yougurt, pastries, bagels etc (I had it all every day) #3 location - close to SF city, close to ferry terminal, close to wine country, next to 2 shopping malls - it's smack in the middle of anywhere you want to go in this region. and last but not least #4 the room you sleep in feels like home, well decorated, clean, and room to move around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Comfortable, clean, updated rooms. Many activities for kids including ping pong, basketball, and big, beautiful outdoor pool. Large selection of foods in the complimentary breakfast. Two malls nearby with many restaurant choices. Only 10-15 minutes from San Francisco.
Corte Madera BW proved to be an excellent jumping off spot to a San Francisco visit. Free shuttle to ferry made it convent and cheap. Most importantly, staff allowed us to store our vehicle in their lot (where they could keep an eye on it) at not cost- A great relief and convenience.
Very convenient when we are in the area to visit family. This trip was a fam reunion BBQ/ softball gathering at the Corte Madera Community Park up on Tamapais. We were out in the heat for 8-9 hours and could come back, shower, go swimming ( sometimes the pool isn't working but glad it was this visit), sit in hot tub at the pool or by our room. We also took advantage of the picnic area to have a smaller family celebration and have cake. It's typically ideal for our visits.
Very expensive for the type of hotel. The room had a weird smell. Right location, very close to Sausalito. The hotel has transfer to the ferry, although the values are not economic, it is a valid option
My husband and I love this hotel! We come down for the Dipsea run in neighboring Mill Valley. It's a super short 15 minute drive to get to the start and lots of great restaurants Mill Valley has to offer. It is also a quick drive to the Golden Gate Bridge and into the city! The hotel has an amazing pool that we swim laps in but families can also enjoy. There is also a fun putting green and basketball court! We can't wait to come back next year with the kids!!
Love the location, is close to Larkspur Ferry Station and the hotel will provide you with a ride to and back from the ferry, so you can visit San Francisco and enjoy the ride. Also, close to mall and a variety of restaurant within walking distance. The people who work there it is absolutely adorable, friendly and try to help you solve any need you may have while staying with them.
Very nice setting, friendly and accommodating staff, a great free breakfast every morning, clean and nicely decorated, close to everywhere we needed to go for the weekend. My husband and I really enjoyed our time there.
I've stayed here many times and am never disappointed. The accommodations are comfortable and very clean. The staff is always helpful, and the breakfast has improved over the years. The location is excellent and many good restaurants are within easy walking distance.
This BW conveniently close to San Francisco and Marin County points of interest, including Sausalito. In a different location (further from the SF Bay Area) I would rate the rooms, below average for a BW Plus, particularly at the nightly rate. The biggest plus to this hotel is the quick shot into the city in the morning (about ten minutes, if not peak of commute), and proximity to many great eating spots in Marin. The room was clean and functional. Although we didn't take advantage of the included full breakfast this trip, we have in the past and were very satisfied with presentation and quality of the items.
This hotel was a great find! It was very convenient to where we were going (into San Francisco) and what we wanted to see before getting there (Point Reyes and Marin county). We also really enjoyed the resort-like atmosphere of the place. We arrived on a hot day and used the pool right away which was delightful. It's huge and very well kept. Our room faced the pool and the fire-pit which was lit each night, nice touch! Little putting green in front of room too! Even though it's right next to the freeway (101) it was very quiet. Also right across from big mall where we had an excellent meal at Pacific Catch. Room was very nicely appointed even if a little small. We even had a little deck with chairs and a hanging planter. Nice walk-in shower. Breakfast was in a big comfortable restaurant area and offered a good variety of items. Liked the croissants. Very helpful staff at front desk. Short ride over Golden Gate to SF (15 minutes away) and lots to explore in Marin county (Point Reyes takes up time: it's big and a ways away but very wild), Tiburon and Sausalito really pleasant and picturesque right next door. Mission in San Rafael very pretty from outside.
I was a bit apprehensive about staying at a Best Western. My son was getting hitched and they made arrangements at this inn. I had to get a suite because there were 6 adults and a toddler. They said it was two bedrooms with no sitting area, which gave me pause, but it was cheaper than renting two separate rooms so I went for it. When I checked in, I wasn't impressed by the lobby but when I got to the room, I was pleasantly surprised with the layout. The rooms were big enough with privacy doors and there was a little breakfast area with a mirror and a sink with a cupboard underneath. The bed looked lumpy and uncomfortable. But to say that their service delivered is an understatement. Six adults and a toddler made for sustained disarray so I was very impressed when the maids managed to create a semblance of order to the rooms. They were very responsive to our requests and were very honest. I tip daily and told the lady on the first day where the tip money was located. The second day, the maid cleaned and didn't take the tip we left. We didn't see her to tell her before we left. Plus we left jewelry and electronics laying around. Didn't have time to use the safe. We were always rushing to get to the events. But everything was intact. Nothing missing. And the bed that appeared lumpy was quite comfy. The second mirror above the sink was pretty smart with four of us putting on makeup. The pocket doors kept the noise out of the rooms so when my grand-baby was fussing, it diminished the noise. There was a small patio outside of the master bedroom that allowed us to open up and spread a little. The location of the hotel was perfect...pretty close to the freeway entrance...across the street from a mall that had a Safeway so we could buy some groceries...and there was a second mall across the freeway that the hotel shuttle could take you to. The complimentary breakfast was okay. It appeared that they brought food in from elsewhere into the abandoned restaurant space next to the hotel. I hadn't really looked at the reviews prior to going so the big beautiful heated pool was a nice surprise...not that we took advantage of it. But it was beautiful to look at. All in all, we enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again. I don't know how to do .5 stars or I would rate it 4.5 stars with a slight subtraction for the breakfast quality and no sitting room. Nothing truly substantial. Super stay!!!
Wonderful place to stay, especially with kids .Great garden area to have a gathering. Fantastic breakfast room. Close to Sausalito, which has terrible parking, so used Uber which worked perfectly. Great shopping across the street.
Great location and weather! Movie theatre, shops and restaurants all within walking distance! Comfortable, clean rooms and beautiful pool area! Highly recommend! From SF so it's my go to place for a quick getaway!
I always stay at Best Western hotels when I'm traveling. Corte Madera is the best Best Western hotel that I have had the pleasure of staying at. The courtyard, salt water swimming pool, and all the other amenities are great for families. We were able to use the grill and that gave it a home type feeling.
Corte Madera Inn, a Best Western Hotel, was a stunning surprise and much more than I expected for a favorable price. Right off the freeway, yet you feel like you are in a restful resort. Close to great dining and shopping and convenient to take the ferry to San Francisco. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are extremely pleasant, well trained and helpful. I room was perfect. Breakfast was a nice bonus. I highly recommend the Corte Madera Inn. I will be back.
Outstanding service, great location with a big shopping area right across the street. Huge outdoor pool with 2 hot tubs, area for mini golf and outdoor fire pit. Great choice for couples or falimiles with kids. I would definitely recommend BW Corey Madera Inn!
The hotel was quiet. My room had a fabulous view! It was clean and comfortable. The easy chairs were comfy. The staff was wonderful - so friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a nice view and the food was realy good and service was great. I enjoyed it all and I will recommend it to my friends.
Beautiful hotel in all aspects. Grounds are well kept, beautiful pool / spa area. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Make sure to ask about the shuttle availability as they may forget to mention it at check in. Location is very convenient as well.
The Best Western Corte Madera Inn offers a really pleasant place to stay at quite reasonable cost, especially if you book well ahead of your visit to get the best rates. It is quite convenient to San Francisco with a car, only a short ride over the Golden Gate bridge.Rooms are very comfortable, and many open onto a central pool area with little porches and comfortable chairs outside. There's free wifi and a coffeemaker. Breakfast at an adjoining restaurant that now only serves this meal to hotel guests is excellent and included in the room rate. There's a large shopping mall across the street with several good restaurants. The pool is large enough for lap swimming which makes it unusually big for hotel-motel pools. Be sure to be very clear on wake-up calls--I believe I did not get one but they insisted that I had been called and apparently didn't hear the phone ring.
Hotel was comfortable. Location of room was good. The room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Location is good for where we will visit. Parking is somewhat small for such large hotel.
Wonderful place to stay while visiting San Francisco. Breakfast is outstanding. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Good location for ferry travel. Nice pool and outdoor area. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
We spent a week here in April while visiting family. It was very convenient to the 101 highway, shopping, and places to eat. Our room was to the back of the facility. It was large and very comfortable. It came with a balcony. Plenty of parking. Beautiful grounds. A large, salt water, heated pool that our grandsons loved. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back.
We stayed here one night, but have stayed here many times in the past. It is a lovely hotel with excellent customer service. This time the courtyard was planted with colorful impatiens and was manicured to perfection. Our room was nicely appointed, clean and spacious. There is a nice pool and attractive lobby. Their breakfast has the regular offers Inks but is several steps above the norm. The location is convenient to Marin, San Francisco, and wine country. The staff was professional and helpful on this visit and every visit in the past
We reserved two rooms for four people, one of whom uses a wheel chair and requires a peaceful stay. Our stay was part of a conference, and being able to stay onsite was especially helpful. We required an ADA room, and unfortunately, the only one available at the time we booked was the very last room at the end of the property. The hotel front desk clerk was especially helpful, and checked a number of details at my request. I truly appreciated his friendly and patient assistance. Since there is no wheelchair access in the more pleasant areas of the property (near the pool, lawns and sitting areas, we had to walk along the parking lot from the very back all the way to the front of the property -- that was also the only way to reach the breakfast area in the morning. Check-in and out was easy, and there were no surprises. I have stayed at this hotel in years past, and it seems they have maintained the property well. Despite its age, there is a lovely feel of Marin, and we enjoyed our stay this time. The mall across the street offers easy shopping and dining, and a place to walk, crossing only one busy street near the freeway on/off ramps. I will book a stay there again, and hope their access for mobility impaired guests is improved during future renovations.
I was in Corte Madera for a conference and the conference was itself in the same hotel. Nearby in the mall were many eating places and if you drive you can get to other interesting restaurants. The staff was friendly and tried to help when we had issue with internet and noice from the road. The TV could be upgraded.
We've come back to the Best Western Corte Madera every year for a dozen years. It's really conveniently located in Marin County with restaurants you can walk to in a beautiful outdoor mall across the street, and easy access to San Francisco, Sausalito, Tiburon, San Rafael, Berkeley, and more. The continental breakfast next door has a wide selection and comfortable tables and booths. We wouldn't change a thing.
Nora at the front desk was very helpful on info. Nice, comfortable rooms, love that there were a lot of different ammenaties. Complementary breakfast was very delicious, u make ur own waffles which was pretty cool, and very delicious. Cristina was amazing with her service, just absolutely love her!!!
We had a sort of family reunion in the area and wanted to go to a nice restaurant and spend the night in Corte Madera. This hotel was the best option around and we weren't disappointed. The room was on the small side but had high ceilings and a balcony which was so nice. The room was clean and had a good feel. The bed was very comfortable which is the most important thing to me.
Just an area in California that needs that extra customer service. Poor quality mattress. Communication needs to be excellent and well thought out. Neither exist at this location. Accommodation should be inviting without excuses and lack of compassion.
We have stayed here before and that's why we came back. Close to Fisherman's Wharf and convenient on our way north. Great pool and breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful, gave us a great tip on a local restaurant.
We were out to explore the SF area, the staff at this hotel were very nice and helpful. The room and amenities were excellent (esp breakfast) location to SF and Muir Woods outstanding, within 20 minutes
Sorry we all where eating in the morning as a family and my daughter look up and saw a rat in the restaurant we had just finished eating out appetite was gone ! We made the staff aware right away I don't think they new what to do we left right away .
Loved this place, perfect room layout, breakfast and facilities. We stayed at 7 places on our road trip and this was our favourite. Great location with shopping and food facilities in walking distance. Staff were really helpful :-)
We usually stay here when in Marin County. It is a comfortable facility that is well maintained. There is a large outdoor pool and hot tub. A good free breakfast is provided. The hotel is within walking distance of shopping malls, and restaurants. There are running and biking trails nearby.
ee stayed here for the handicap facility and they have a great staff, great accommodations and great service. They went above and beyond. They even accommodated us with allowing me to take breakfast, which was great, back for my aunt in the room
We primarily stay at the Best Western Corte Madera when coming back from an east coast trip to late for our drive home. Occasionally we stay when we have an appointment in Marin County, an event in Marin..
My family of four stayed for 5 nights recently while attending a wedding in Mill Valley. The pictures don't really do the hotel justice. I was afraid everything would be old, but we booked the hotel as it was on the list provided by the bride. In reality, the hotel is in very nice shape, the breakfast was excellent (compared to most other free hotel breakfasts), and the grounds provided some needed diversions for my sons. The rooms were fairly large and all four of us fit nicely, though the closet and dresser space is pretty cramped for a group. The putting green looked tiny in the pictures, but was large enough for us to have some competitive putting matches. The basketball backboard was small, but workable again for some fun one on one or horse games. The pool is huge. The location is a major selling point for the hotel. You can get right on/off the southbound lanes of 101. It took just a bit of practice to learn how to navigate northbound. It's about 15 minutes to the Golden Gate Bridge, so our trip into the city was easy. Marin Headlands and Muir Woods were about 15 minutes away too. The Larkspur ferry is even closer if you don't want to drive into San Francisco. There's a strip mall directly across the street with some restaurants, so you could get by without a car if need be. There's also an upscale mall on the other side of the highway that had many upscale restaurants, but you pretty much need a car to get there. Breakfast is currently served in what looks like an old diner type restaurant. It looks like the building is for sale, so the breakfast situation might change soon.
Please review survey for comments I made. Review dates and locations. Staff great. Points promotion nice. This is starting to take longer than I thought. I do want you to know I like that property and will be sad if it's renovated and won't be able to go there anymore
Excellent value, very friendly staff, well maintained and accessible, having a guest laundry changes the way I can travel (e.g. light) and knowing that the midnight staff is so friendly makes late arrivals a pleasure.
Very happy with the hotel and staff. We were quite happy because this hotel had a two-bedroom suite. Our only problem was that the bathroom in the suite was not suitable for our handicapped member and we had requested a handicapped accessible bathroom. They did not notify us that they could not accommodate that request. We managed to make it work and were very happy with everything else at this hotel. Another key factor that we liked was that there was a large mall across the street from the hotel with nice restaurants.
We have Rapid Rewards & have stayed in many Best Western Motels. We were in San Rafael for a Thanksgiving celebration with a large family & choose this motel for it's location. It was a bad choice due to a very poor mattress & inferior bedding - way past it's use. Also the room had lingering smoke in it.
I wanted a place for a base camp to explore the Marin Headlands and also a place to relax where we (me and 2 kids) wouldn't go stir crazy. This place was awesome! Very close to the city as well as Golden Gate Rec Area. Quick trip to Marin Headlands, Muir Woods, Marine Mammal Center, Sausalito, etc. Lots to do at the hotel - awesome heated pool, 2 hot tubs, basketball, putting green, ping pong, shuffle board - we did it all. Great breakfast in the morning - eggs, waffles, sausage, oatmeal, pastries, etc. Very helpful and courteous staff. Also bonus, there is a large 1 screen movie theater right next door. The property is a bit older but the room was comfortable, clean and decorated nicely. Beds were super comfortable. Our room had a shower stall only which was fine and water pressure was great. Also I felt like it was a good value.
The area of the hotel felt safe and well lit. The rooms were comfortable and easy access to grocery store, highway and restaurants. Hotel is older but grounds were clean and staff were nice and helpful.
We stayed in this hotel for my husband's high school reunion. Wanted a place that was within distance of various meeting places in the area. Nora checked us in and when we asked for a room away from the noise of the freeway she upgraded us and we were very pleased about it. Room was fine, we slept well. Breakfast is hearty but don't get there late because they run out of things like scrambled eggs and french toast. But lots of other good items are available. All in all, it was a great stay except for the HORRIBLE storm and rain and wind!!
This is one of the worst BW hotels we have ever stayed in - has a '60's look to it - but don't be fooled - it is time to demolish and build anew here - lots of acreage - could be a great location if the building was up to date - rooms are small - very poorly furnished and literally no vanity space - having both a front and and a back entrance does not help - breakfast was OK - but would never want to visit here again - we visited Northern California and stayed at several other BW hotels, all of which were excellent to very good - this was one of the more pricier hotels of the BW hotels we stayed in and certainly a poor value -
Good location however being near freeway makes it noisy. Ridiculous breakfast room with insufficient seating. Mediocre food. My room had a distinct mildew smell in the bathroom. Cheap toilet paper. Stupid WiFi which needs to be logged into every time. Inaccurate thermostat on climate control. Comfortable beds. Low sinks in the bathroom. Oh my back! Hotel needs some serious refurbishing. Other then that I can't complain. After all it is Marin County!
The location of this Inn was excellent for our traveling purpose. Easy access to the freeway and shopping nearby. Clean, comfortable room and staff was very friendly. Buffet breakfast was tasty. Pool looked very inviting, but it was raining!
This Best Western is located next to the freeway and across the street from a shopping center. We ate at Pacific Catch , an Asian fusion restaurant at the shopping center. it was really good. This Best Western is only average. The breakfast is average. They serve it in the lobby and there are not enough tables, however. There are no inside hallways, so this establishment has a "motel' feel to it. There a salt water pool, a fire pit, picnic tables, putting green and a park-like area. The room decor is dated, but ok. Everything was clean, except for our carpet, which needed a good shampooing. Overall, this Best Western is OK, average,
This is sort of a mini-resort with a lap pool. putting green, barbecue area and an interior garden supporting room patios on the lower level. The rooms are nice, the beds quite comfortable. My room had an extra sink as well as a small fridge. There's some vending by the pool office but there's a rather upscale strip mall just across the road which includes a Safeway grocer. And just across the 101 you'll find a larger anchor store type mall. Breakfast is free and the Chronicle newspaper is provided. Wi-Fi works OK. and there are a couple of lobby computers for quicker speeds and printing if necessary. Several times when I returned late afternoon, fresh cookies were available at the reception. You can get here directly from the SFO by Marin Airporter or just take the Larkspur Ferry from the San Francisco terminal. Either way, contact the hotel at the drop off because you'll be up the road a bit and the other side of the 101. Highway planners make it difficult to walk anywhere around here with ease.
This is one of my favorite Best Western Hotels so far. It's to bad we only stayed for a night. The compound has an outdoor pool, garden and if I remember right, there's an where you could have a bonfire. There's also a restaurant where they serve the complimentary breakfast. The staff were very accommodating too! We had a very nice stay.
Had a great experience. Lovely clean spacious room, comfy beds, nice amenities. Easy to find, right near freeway, very pleasant stay! Warm salt water pool, Jacuzzi, complimentary breakfast. Staff was courteous, friendly, and very helpful. Plenty of parking, so did not have to park far from room.
He repeatedly cursed at my son and his friends, was rude and very condescending. He yelled at the boys and at me. The lady at check out was very pleasant and kind. Pool lights turned off before they were scheduled to.
This is a sad Best Western. They have tried to update this place but they just need to tear it down and start all over. The room smells VERY musty, the shower area was gross because of its age, the noise from the freeway makes it hard to sleep and I am always uncomfortable staying in a hotel where your door opens up to an outdoor walkway. There is really nothing good I can say about this place except the people that work there are very nice.
Each year my wife and myself drive from BC to Southern California. We often will take a different route just to "change it up". Which ever route we decide to take we usually try to stay in a Best Western property. This hotel was the same high quality we are used to. Well done BW Corte Madera.
Loved this place. It is slightly dated but we loved our patio courtyard room. The pool is fantastic. We were there for a wedding in Sausalito and this was a great location. The staff were also very helpful in arranging our rooms.
Good location, easy freeway access, great shopping right across the street. Always clean, comfortable rooms, now they have added a nice breakfast buffet. Since this trip was for our 50th anniversary, we splurged on a suite--loved the featherbed! Friendly staff, quiet location--we never consider any other hotel when we go to Marin County!
I stayed here while on business in September of 2016. Hotel staff are very pleasant. Room was clean. Breakfast was awesome. Great pool (saltwater). Will come back and stay again for pleasure this time.
We have been guests here for over 20 years, some years as many as three times, and the level of service has been maintained; the breakfasts are still very good even though Best Western has insisted on HOT breakfasts which precluded the delivery of the breakfast to the rooms. The furniture and linens have been replaced over the years as has the paint. AND the beautiful grounds with pathways, croquet, and a firepit which is lit in winter only add to the beauty of the very old and beautiful trees.
When our friends told us they had booked all of our rooms at this Best Western for this night, I was apprehensive as it had been a long time since staying at a Best Western. Upon arrival, the property looked older and I was afraid the rooms would be dated and musty. To my surprise, the rooms were renovated and very nice. The beds were very comfortable and all was clean. The TV's were not HD though and very hard to watch with the old style fuzzy reception. We had decided to go elsewhere for breakfast and the staff was very nice to pack us each a to go bag with bottled water, fruit and a granola bar for later. For the rates charged I do feel they need to fix their TV's, but besides that, this is a nice place to stay and I would stay again!
Best Western Corte Madera Inn is unique for three reasons: (1) its extensive grounds, which include several recreational options and pleasant garden areas for just relaxing; (2) its particularly pleasant and attentive staff members; (3) its great location: though it is immediately adjacent to highway 101 the hotel was quiet; it's also right across the street from a lovely shopping center with excellent and pleasant dining options. The facility is older but is in good shape and very comfortable. The very large pool is heated, which is not always the case in hotel swimming pools and is in a garden setting. There is basketball, shuffleboard, table tennis, and a fitness room. Every member of the hotel staff was genuinely friendly and pleasant. Our stay was a very enjoyable experience.
I like the place- nice decks overlooking a central grassy courtyard/pool area, with a lot of space. I don't mind the doors to outside- the climate is pretty nice. The bed in my room was very comfortable, and it seemed things had been renovated in some kind of recent past. Really convenient for access to 101- the on ramp is just immediately left out the front. Good restaurants in a nice smaller shopping center with a grocery store across the street. A great place for access to the north bay area. I'll stay again.
Grounds look nice, great pool, good location, shuttle to the ferry to San Francisco. Accommodations though are a different story. The property is in dire need of renovation. Our mattress cover was extremely lumpy, the foot of the bed was on an incline and didn't want to bother finding out why. The carpet on the stairs to the second level is disgusting. The staff at the Front Desk was OK but definitely not forward with offering help or information.
This is the only place we stay when going to the bay area.. It's right off the freeway and there are lots of shopping and restaurants nearby..The staff is great, the rooms are nice and the bed was really comfortable...
My daughter and I drove up here to have a quick weekend away to a place we had not been and also to have some fun. The hotel is very close to restaurants and there are a few really nice drives to small bay area parks. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff are great at making recommendations and making a guest feel welcome.
This is my second visit & I think great location ,only about 12 minutes north of Golden gate bridge & San Fran . Hotel is fairly quiet . has good home feel to it. front desk people very friendly & helpful . & very, very close to great restaurants & shopping. I will be back again.
beds where comfortable and breakfast selection was pretty good! Love the waffle maker and always love my oatmeal. We checked in late so unfortunately we did not use the amenities. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi looks so inviting though. Hopefully our next visit we will get the chance to jump in.
This is an older hotel. The rooms varied a bit..I looked at a few. They all smelled weird - like bad body odor. I stayed in an executive king which was okay decor-wise and functionally. The pool is fantastic (a key reason I chose this hotel) and the staff were pleasant and nice.
This is your basic clean hotel. This is an older property, but has been maintained very well. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was decent. I would stay here again as the location was great (middle of Marin) and the price was very reasonable.
Lovely place to stay, serving a good breakfast and the Olympic size, heated ,salt water pool and grounds are very nice. (tip: request a room in the rear where it's quite) Good location for visiting Muir woods, San Fran, etc.
This is a lovely, expansive property near shopping in Corte Madera. The gorgeous California weather beckons us outside to enjoy the huge pool, ping pong, basketball or even bird watching on the property. The location is close to Sausalito and the Larkspur ferry into San Francisco, and Mt. Tamalpais hiking. Napa and Sonoma are also within an hour's drive.
This is my FAVORITE type of a Best Western. A well maintained older property built when no 2 B/W's were alike. (Caveat, older properties usually mean smaller rooms). The property has an on site eatery,( currently only used for breakfast but going thru the permitting process to return as a restaurant/bar),a swimming pool large enough to serve as the local swim club,2 hot tubs (though 1 is not beside the pool), basketball hoop, putting green, and a shuffle board court, (the ONLY one I remember outside of Fla). Most (but not all) rooms have a separate balcony or back porch. FOOD? Across Madera Blvd is a small mall with 5 (current) eateries and a Safeway Mkt. Across US101 is another mall with 4 eateries , and 1/2 mi from that is a Nugget Mkt (with FRESH take out food)! The onsite/free breakfast is as good as any in this price range. The ONLY down side to ME is the TV channel choices. The hotel subscribes to a service with for fee movies which apparently uses the tactic of less free channel choice to induce sales ( but with the onsite recreation choices who needs TV)?
We stayed here for a family visit and we're very impressed with the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the room, and most especially the swimming pool area. Our room had a back door leading on to a little patio with wicker furniture and a hanging basket. The whole area was planted with flowers, there was a small putting green and the pool was pristine. We sat outside with our morning coffee and wished we had a few more days here. We definitely plan to return, and at under $200 a night we can certainly afford to.
We loved the grounds with mature trees and green lawn, plus saltwater pool, hoops area, putting green, BBQ area, etc. - all viewed from our upstairs room with a deep, covered porch. It just felt like a lovely home away from home, with a yummy, healthy (and complimentary) breakfast served each morning. Daily fresh towels. We chose this hotel for proximity to our adult kids' homes as well as price. So glad we found this place!
If it was just about the room, this Inn would have been sufficient and well positioned for day trips to both San Francisco, Muir Woods, and north to wine country. But there was also the small putting green, basketball court, an expansive pool, TWO hot tub spas, a fire pit on the poolside patio at night, and a full breakfast on the property, which literally made it hard to leave every morning for sightseeing and tourist activities. Also, reception, service, and maid staffs were efficient and friendly. Actually cancelled a reservation at another location to return to this Inn for the last night of our vacation, if that says anything.
The rooms are unbelievably TINY!!! Forget about two people in the bathroom at the same time. If I had to estimate the size of the room, I'd say it was 12x14 TOPS. Never again. The location of the property was right off the interstate, which made it convenient. Breakfast was very good also. The staff was very friendly, but our experience with the room completely muddied all of the good things.
My family stayed two nights while visiting San Francisco. The pluses: Above average breakfast, reasonably short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge (We took the fairy - fun!!), well tended grounds, nice pool area, and nice lobby. We had a family suite with a king in one room and two queens in another, which was perfect. It is also WAY less expensive than staying closer to town. Minuses: The rooms are a bit older, the hotel itself is feeling some age. Our mattress was very uncomfortable and needed to be replaced. It isn't a scenic area, basically in a mall. A decent value for the money.
This hotel was clean and the landscaping was nice. The location was near the freeway which was convenient. Our room was a bit old but the bed was comfy. The large lap pool was great! Overall though I felt it overpriced for what we received.
The hotel is in a good location. The property is safe. It is conveniently located next to a large mall with many good dining options. The rooms are clean. The breakfast is the best free hotel breakfast I have seen. There are many extra amenities the hotel offers ( pool, hot tub, mini golf putting, table tennis, outdoor fire pit). The price is high, but competitive for the area.
The property is run down in general. Outside benches too dirty to sit outside. When I walked around on the carpet in my bedroom for 15 minutes before bed, the bottom of my feet were black with dirt. Had to wash them to get in to the bed. Wi-Fi not working and in spite of multiple complaints from multiple guests they just kept insisting it was everyone's computers. I finally called the internet provider myself and they reset the system for the entire property so that we had internet access the last two days of stay. Front desk staff would smile politely at any conversation, tell you they would talk to the manager when they returned (evidently there is rarely a manager actually present) but not one time in three promises was I ever called back. The included breakfast is what you would expect in a $79 per night motel. They charge $200 + per night for this very poor hotel.
My wife and I very much enjoyed our time in the Corte Madera area. Each morning we took advantage of the fabulous 25 yard pool followed by a good quality, self-serve breakfast. A great start to the day followed by a day of hiking on Mount Tamalpais or trips to the National Seashore reserve at Point Reyes. We were in paradise for the entire holiday.
This hotel would have been acceptable at a rate under $100 but for the price I paid it was terrible. Wi-Fi not usable for most of stay (3 nights) causing me to lose work time. Room outdated furniture, no office chair and dirty, worn carpet. Hooks in bathroom were too high to reach, towels up too high. Fan in bathroom drowned out tv.
The location was great, just off the freeway entrance. It is within walking distance of the mall to the south hosting Barnes and Noble and several good restaurants. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and reasonably new. The TV in-room was a little small and far away from the bed, but we didn't come for television. The pool looked nice but it was cool. Breakfast that came as a part of the room price was good and was a good addition.
Check-in was at 4 pm; my family and I arrived at 3 and were told our room wasn't ready and to come back at 4. Fair enough, as we arrived early. We came back a little after 4 and were told our room still wasn't ready and to check back 10 min later. 10 min later and it still wasn't ready. We were told "10 minutes" repeatedly. I spoke with the Service Manager and apparently she needs training in customer service, as she could have cared less. The front desk receptionist was nice enough, but obviously had no control over the situation. While i was at the front desk, another guest tried to check in and was told their room wasn't ready, either. This was around 4:30 pm, well after check-in. We were finally able to go to our room around 5 pm. I might have been more understanding about the delay, had the staff cared more and at least offered an apology. But they obviously didn't care- I would never stay here again based off their attitudes. Very poor customer service!!
Even though we're an older couple, we liked the community feel of families with kids of different ages, and the space to engage in different activities, like small range putting, basketball, ping pong, pool, jacuzzi, fitness room. Peaceful cabana atmosphere. We really like this place, but it is a bit pricey and crowded on summer weekends.
Our group of ladies enjoyed the stay, hotel try to accomedate much to our needs as far as opening the middle door to be accessible for two room and an extra pull out bed. Breakfast was awesome with the hot scramble eggs, sausage and toast, etc.
This is an older but well maintained property. It is minutes from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, Pt Reyes, Mt Tam, Ferrys etc without the hassle of parking etc. in the City. The salt water pool is fabulous for playing or lap swimming (hot tubs could use upgrading, though they did work and were Hot!). Basketball hoop was also a nice diversion. Breakfast was usual basic BW fair but used an entire restaurant facility next to hotel so wasn't crowded like most experiences. Grounds have a resort like feel. Shopping mall with dining options right across the street. This is a popular location and we will definitely book again.
The hotel consists of multiple two-story buildings and a breakfast building which used to be a stand alone restaurant. If you are southbound on 101, the exit literally puts you at the hotel's front door. The large pool, shuffleboard, fitness room, putting green and available gas grill make this dated property seem like a resort! The rooms and service and continental breakfast were up to par. Note: The guest laundry is only open 9 to 9 . (I know there are other travelers like us who usually plan on doing laundry late at night or early in the morning.) We would stay again.
Check bed for insects, I had a wierd bug on my sheets, I had to kill it myself. The room size was very nice, other friends that were part of my group had smaller rooms. One of my friends showed up and got to his room and it was not cleaned yet (430 PM) but he was given another room, had to move luggage twice. The windows in my room were open when I arrived and I had a hard time securing the lock. There are lots of good restaurants near by, I went to Marin Joe's which is a local favorite. The is a good mall near by. We were asked to leave the dining room so they could close it while we were having our morning coffee.
Spacious clean room with desk, sofa, chair, flat screen, granite, fridge and we asked for a microwave and they delivered to the room within 10 minutes. The breakfast included everything! They even have a full restaurant to sit in and enjoy your bountiful breakfast! Actually, this place served everything....eggs, meats, waffles, bagels, assorted sweet rolls, oatmeal with granola, dried fruit & nuts, cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt and many assorted drinks. Amazing $15 per person breakfast for FREE!
I did not have reservations at this hotel but saw it off the highway and decided to stop and see if they had any rooms available AND if I could afford it. Yes and Yes. I was totally surprised at all the amenities they had. An Olympic size - HEATED outdoor swimming pool, several hot tubs, basketball, ping pong, shuffle board not to mention the room was wonderful. I heard they are going to tear it down and build something else. That would be a tragedy. This place is a one of a kind.
My husband spent two nights here to attend a wedding. Never again. The rooms were nice enough, if you can sleep through the noisy air conditioning unit. I called to see if we could possibly check in earlier. The woman said they could have a second floor room ready and I asked about an elevator. We were told there is an elevator, but when we arrived less than two hours later were told there is no elevator because "this is an old property." So okay, we opt to come back in another hour for a room on the first floor. Walking into the room I tripped on the higher than normal step onto the porch. I banged up my shins and knees pretty badly and almost hit my head on the wall. I called the front desk and asked if they might have ice packs or maybe some bags for ice. The man at the front desk told me where the ice machines are. That was his response - where to find the ice machines. Checking out, one of the women at the desk had accidentally dialed 911 and both of them were trying to stop whatever was going on with the phones and call off the police. Not impressed with this hotel at all. It is in a great location and that must be the selling point.
My family and I spent four nights at this hotel. Even though this is an older hotel, the room was clean and very comfortable and the continental breakfast was good - included pastries, bagels, muffins, sliced bread, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon every other day, and french toast every other day. The staff was always helpful and pleasant. Two things I really enjoyed about this establishment. The grounds around the large pool were very relaxing. Activities besides swimming included ping pong, shuffle board, putting area and a basketball goal(does need a new rim). BBQ gas grill available to the guest. Location - close to Muir woods and Muir beach, not too far from Stinson beach, and a quick drive to the Larkspur ferry which we used to go into the city. Much more relaxing and affordable than staying in San Fran. Even with the ferry cost for a family of four, it was still less expensive than staying in the city. Much more peaceful of a setting compared to staying in San Fran. Grocery store and restaurants within walking distance. I heard there the hotel is looking at making some major changes to the property. I hope the owners do not lose the charm of their lovely pool area. This truly makes the property. Again, I highly recommend this hotel!
Super pleased with the cleanliness, the look and feel the Comfort level and the staff was awesome great pricing awesome food at their morning Buffet we were overwhelmed and how great it was. It was just overall great
The Best Western Corte Madera is and has been a wonderful property to stay. It is near many restaurants and shopping opportunities, as well as being centrally located in the lower Napa/Sonoma area. Staff is extremely conscious of guest needs, and the accommodations are always spotless. This was not the first nor the last time I will visit this property.
We stayed for 3 nights and totally enjoyed it. The breaky was nice, the shops were close, the free shuttle was very handy and the pool was great. Fantastic location as a great shopping centre/restaurants were within walking distance.
the breakfast offered was nice at this hotel. Pool was very large and warmed. Two hottubs were great. Other amenities like ping pong table and basketball hoop and putting green made it try to be a resort. But really just a nice hotel. It is old, but they are trying to keep it up.
We stayed here for a weekend and found it very comfortable. Spacious well groomed gardens with handing baskets, a nice pool, and outdoor activities. While we were there the inn was completely full, yet the staff was courteous and prompt. We needed housekeeping for a couple things and they were right on it. The breakfast was good with a lot of menu choices. I would have preferred a coffee mug instead of paper cups, but that's a minor issue. All in all, a good motel, especially for families.
This is a beautiful location. They have awesome entertainment for children. A large pool, shuffleboard, table tennis, a putting green, bar-b-q, hot tub, and fire pit were among our favorite features. This was a very family oriented location and our grandchildren loved it. Our room had a porch that overlooked the park like interior courtyard.
Easy check-in process, helpful staff. We had 3 kids with us so stayed in the family suite--1 room with a king, a separate bedroom with 2 queens (or doubles?). Our suite was quiet, comfortable. Kids loved the big pool, one of the biggest I've seen at a chain hotel. 2 hot tubs! Ping pong! Great to unwind after a day in the car. Easy access to Muir Woods (about 25 mins but go very early due to NO parking!). Hotel breakfast was in a weird old western-style restaurant, typical buffet.
Older resort style motel, Good condition, great pool, extremely friendly staff, great service. Good central location in SF Bay area near ferry restaurants, Muir woods and wine country. Convenient for to making day trips
We stay here when in town to visit family. The motel is conveniently located, easy to get to and has a restaurant on site, pool, etc. It's also very close to a mall if you need anything. The staff has always been helpful when we've stayed. It can sometimes be a little higher priced than others nearby, but there are others that are more expensive and this is a good price for what you get.
A very average Best Western with a room that was nothing special. There was a very attractive swimming pool on the property that we never used. The Best Western serves its purpose by providing a place to sleep, but I think that I would like to try a different place when we return to the area.
Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was generous and in an old restaurant stop there was plenty of seating. It had a great pool and grounds! Seems like a throw-back to older, family retreats but right near shopping and the highway.
Just average experience and I was expecting a nice breakfast best on prior reviews but the breakfast was disappointed in the way it was serve with paper plates and in a empty old restaurant that had dirty old paint. I did not like the coffee dishes place on the bathroom sink. If they improved, I may come back otherwise I will not.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The rooms were very clean. The staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful. I loved the pool and hot tubs. My son could shoot hoops, play shuffle board and even do some golf putting. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to the people that do not like to stay directly in San Francisco
Friendly staff, roomy rooms and comfortable beds. Wish we could have taken advantage of the salt water pool. Great location with some excellent eating options nearby. Looks like a great place to spent a couple days and would be terrific place to bike from.
The Corte Madera Best Western is awesome! It was a little out of our way, so I had to talk my husband into staying here, but it was so awesome we may stay there again. The pool area is the best we've ever seen, with lap lanes and a large hot tub. The ground floor rooms around the courtyard have relaxing chairs outside, and we enjoyed letting our 2-year-old run around in the courtyard freely without worrying about cars. She was able to ride her tricycle there, and we also were able to use the barbecue grill, which was very convenient.
Few hotels in Corte Madera. This property is located adjacent to a town center/shopping mall offering numerous quality restaurants and adjacent to US101. I've been staying here for over 15 years while visiting family..
A great location for visiting Napa, Muir Woods, Saulsalito, Point Reyes. Easy access to the highway and plenty of eating establishments within walking distance. Also offers a free shuttle to the Larkspur ferry for a bay ride to San Francisco!
This is a typical Best Western, nice rooms, decent continental breakfast and friendly helpful staff. I probably need not say more but its location is worth comment. It is right by US101 about 10 miles north of the Golden Gate but I was not aware of the traffic in my room. It was an ideal location for an evening trip down to Marin Headlands to view San Francisco at sunset, which was part of my plan. It is also good value for this area.
We needed to be close to San Francisco without breaking the bank and we chose this Best Western hotel. It is an older hotel but well kept. We had a 2nd floor room with a balcony overlooking the pool and it was just dandy. We were welcomed with chocolate in the room which is a nice European touch. Breakfast was good as was the bed. An extra perk came from the front desk when I was asked if I was driving a rental car. Seems that there are no longer tool booths on the Golden Gate Brisge and you are charged by a photo on the license plate. If it is a rental car, the fee is jacked up by the rental car agency so she suggested i go online in the Business Center of the hotel and prepay the toll. saved me a bunch!!!
Very nice hotel with a large pool and recreation area in the heart of Corte Madera. The location is directly across the street from the shopping center, and next to the 101 fwy. Overall, great stay, but would say rooms are a little overpriced for the property type. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here the night before a trip to Muir woods. The room was very nice and in a very quit location. They have an excellent buffet breakfast that is included in the price. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice settling. Professional, courteous staff members. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Nicely appointed with nice little extras such as a Kuerig coffeemaker and half and half in your room (instead of powdered creamer) and chocolates next to the bed. The grounds are well kept and have basketball, putting green, shuffle board, fire pit, a huge swimming pool and nice hot tub. Breakfast was good both mornings and included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, oatmeal, fresh fruit and an assortment of pastries, Gavalia coffee with an assortment of flavored creamers. Staff kept food fresh and full. The property is well lit in the evening and there are choices of good places to eat within a short walk. They also offer complimentary shuttle service which we took to the Ferry.terminal. Driver was very nice and punctual picking us up on our return trip. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
This is a very nice hotel. Very close to the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. It's actually very centrally located if you are going to San Francisco and the surrounding vacation spots. If you are going to UCSF it is about 20 minutes from the Parnassus Campus.
expensive given there isn't any turn down service or anything out of ordinary offered. Breakfast served on paper plates buffet style from a really worn our restaurant an it couldn't be called gourmet unless one had no experience of he world -bit of a wake up call required
I was very pleased with my stay at this Hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Grounds were well kept and room was clean and warm. Room had a balcony overlooking the pool but was quiet. A unique mall is a walk across the street with excellent restaurants. When I was there there was a local farmer's market. I will stay again. Only tiny complaint was the heavy perfumed smell in the room.
I have been to this motel several times and it is consistently good. Right off of Highway 101 in Central Marin. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Price is high but probably market rate for this area. Staff is friendly and service is very good.
Great place to stay while visiting Marin county which has so much to see. Good people, good accommodations, and a great breakfast. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. The restaurants within walking distance were excellent.
Large property, with nice rooms! Huge heated salt water pool, several Jacuzzi. The Staff is really nice, and the property is really clean! There is really nice shopping mall across the street with lots of places to eat, and shop.
This place reminds me of a time people would be socializing outside together, and not focus on material things. People are by the pool smiling and sunbathing or exercising. I think this is what really makes this location relaxing. A community vibe and enjoying the great outdoors.
This was a great pick for our family trip; it was conveniently located near the highway (but no highway noise!) so we could travel easily to San Francisco and other interest points in the Bay Area. The hotel is located near an open shopping area with several good dining options and major retail stores within an easy walk from the hotel. Hotel amenities were great for family entertainment (putt-putt golf, saltwater pool). Breakfast offered a consistently tasty variety of food selections.
Second time at this motel and we're sure to return again! Enjoy ambling along the gardens and relaxing by the wonderful pool. Rooms large, clean, comfortable and light. Especially prefer the upstairs rooms with high ceilings. The establishment has a authentic retro feel about it that captures your attention in a positive way. Staff very accommodating to our room needs; we really appreciated their service and kindness. Breakfast , although typical buffet, is made more enjoyable in the location of the former restaurant.
This hotel met our needs perfectly in terms of location, convenience and price. We were in the area for a family function so really depended on the location and convenience to the event. All encounters with the staff members were good ones. They were friendly and attentive. We rate this hotel overall good value for the money.
This hotel really impressed me! Front desk service was fast, efficient and very helpful with everything. We got a free upgrade upon arrival which was a nice surprise as well! The room had a keurig, with a variety of coffee and tea, which is always a nice touch. We didn't use the pool area but there were many who were swimming laps and the area looked clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very good, it was a hot breakfast which not all Best Westerns offer, and had a waffle maker, sausage, bacon, occasionally French toast, scrambled eggs, cereals, oatmeal, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and assorted pastries. The selection varied a little day to day but you get the idea. This is a motel style hotel with the door located on the outside but the area is safe and right across from a plaza with some shopping and restaurants. The hotel offers a shuttle to Larkspur to take the ferry over to San Francisco if you don't feel like fighting the traffic. Depending on the time of day, the shuttle can take less than 10 or more than 20 minutes to get you there with traffic so plan accordingly. Great location, 20 mins from Muir Woods, 15 mins from Sausalito, 20 mins from San Francisco and right next to 101 S. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel!
This property is quite dated and would be a two star $75 motel anywhere else. Unfortunately, Marin hotels/motels are very overpriced. Front desk service is very slow and sometimes incompetent. Restaurants recommended as "excellent and close by" turn out (when you read the reviews) to be a bare step above fast food. We asked for a late checkout, then were locked out of our room when we returned 15 minutes early to pack up and check out. The delay in sorting this out and getting into the room made us late to our next engagement. Rooms are dark and low-ceilinged. Breakfast in "The Porkhouse" was minimalist. A place to crash, but I wouldn't expect more.
The staff was welcoming and attentive to our needs. The hotel was charming. It felt like a vacation spot and not just a hotel. The room was very clean, and smelled fresh. The bed was comfy and we had plenty of nice pillows. Breakfast was hot and fresh, and quite tasty. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely stay again.
the hotel staff were courteous and professional. the facility was comfortable and the pool was quite excellent in size and maintenance. the full breakfast was excellent in quality and service. i made my reservation directly with hotel staff and found them to be very engaging and helpful
We recently stayed here for 3 nights and this hotel delivered on absolutely everything! Firstly, it is very conveniently located right next to a very large shopping & restaurant complex full of great eating options etc. it is also right beside the ferry to take you across to San Francisco (and the hotel will even take you to the terminal free of charge whenever you like!) Secondly, the amenities at the hotel are great. A very generous recreation area (gym, basketball ring, ping-pong, bbq & pool) along with a nice little open gas-fire pit to enjoy a glass of red wine on a brisk night. Thirdly, the generous cooked breakfast is served in a very large restaurant-style building adjoining the hotel. Heaps of table space & well catered. Finally, the rooms are absolutely fantastic. Well fitted out, spacious, comfortable, great wifi signal etc. lots of parking available. This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at. The staff are very helpful & courteous and a credit to the Best Western Chain. Well done! AAA+++
We booked several rooms for my daughter's wedding in Mill Valley. The hotel was close by, had nice amenities for families, and the staff were very warm and personal. I'd highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place for a large group.
Spent two nights there and not only is it very economical for the Bay Area, but the rooms are very large and comfortable. I was very impressed with the professional attitude and the courteous approach of the staff...from the room cleaners to the desk. The location, if you have a car, is ideal for visiting Marin and the City. Very Impressive.
This is an old motel that has had lots of recent updates. Beds are great, coffee in room (Keurig) was better than coffee at breakfast, better than average breakfast with lots of seating for a group since they have taken over an old restaurant. Nice size pool that actually accommodates swimmers, rather than "splashers". Fire pit outside is nice but shuts down at 10. Fire in lobby is also nice for those who want a gathering place after 10. Price was great for our wedding group, especially for this area. Great shopping and restaurants are very close.
The location could not be easier next to a freeway ramp. The decor of the lobby was wonderful, as was the room. The breakfast was a winner. I did not see an elevator, so if carrying heavy bags, keep it to the first floor.
I was really tired and wanted a good night's sleep. I was not disappointed. The receptionists were very friendly and even guided me to the excellent "Brick and Bottles". The room was very clean and spacious. Sleep quality was also very good. The pool looked awesome.
The Hotel was in a great location. It was easy to get to from the freeway. Also the disabled rooms where well equipped. The handicapped parking was hard to find. All special items where in the room when we arrived (2 extra pillows and 2 blankets).
Room: Clean, all functions (wi-fi, TV, lights, plumbing) in good working order, nicely arranged. Staff: Courteous, helpful, professional, friendly Beds: THE BEST! Breakfast: Terrific! This is the second time we've stayed here and on both occasions we found it to be an excellent value.
I'm a frequent Best Western customer and have stayed at this location on numerous locations. During the last two weeks I've here, booked an expensive room twice and was never informed that the hotel was experiencing a major boiler problem and that their advertised Olympic pool and two jacuzzis were not working and shut down. Also there was significant ongoing construction to the area right next to my room ( drilling and jackhammers starting at 8am). One has to appreciate that the fact that the main reason guests stay at this property is for the quiet and for the pool and spa amenities. I could accept the situation more easily if I had been notified about it or if the rooms were discounted to reflect the situation-- neither was the case. I am a frequent guest here, and when I spoke to the manager about this he knocked the price down $20 and that was about it. No real apology, no concern about the fact that the property is being misrepresented if amenities advertised are not available. This isn't a one or two day thing-- the construction is ongoing, and the broken boiler happened 2 weeks previous to my stay and according to the manager will likely not be fixed for 2 additional weeks. I think that by not mentioning these significant issues to guests BEFORE they book, this hotel is misrepresenting their accommodations. I'm a platinum Best Western rewards member, and this just doesn't cut it in my book.
Went to book a room there for this weekend, mostly upon the advertisement of a large heated outdoor pool for my kids to enjoy. Fortunately, I asked the person on the phone before booking the room, who told me that the heater for the pool had broken recently and she didn't know when a replacement would be installed.
We stay here with our employees and the location is perfect for them because of surrounding stores and dining. The hotel is kept very clean and the staff is very helpful & friendly. We will be working in the area for the next couple of years and we will continue to stay here.
This older hotel has been updated and has comfortable, adequate rooms. The rates were very reasonable compared to staying in the city. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was clean and quiet. The breakfast was average, but included in the room price. We usually stay at the Hampton Inn in South San Francisco, but they did not have any rooms available with two beds. I was traveling with my two daughter's and needed 2 beds. This hotel offers rooms with two queens and also a room with a queen and a double. This was not the most amazing hotel that I have ever stayed in, but would definitely consider staying again. Having clean rooms and a friendly, helpful staff are very important to me and this hotel has both.
Clean and nice decor, good accessibility to freeway and location. Amenities good - nice pool, BB court, sitting area outside room. Very pleasant atmosphere. Bed nice. Not a lot of shelf space in bathroom.
Very friendly staff, very clean rooms and a large very large and inviting pool. The breakfast was not extensive but was enough to get you going in the morning. The location was great and within walking distance to many services.
The hotel is very clean and the amenities are exceptional. The only setback I had experienced was having to walk to my room, I was here on business and did not have a vehicle. But this was remedied the next time around when the front desk accommodated my request immediately for a closer room to reception.
it is old and needs updating, there is no elevator to the second floor and the steps are uneven and hard to climb with the luggage, there are rotted places on the railings, and the toilet kept running every 15 minuets.
This hotel provides shuttle service to the Larkspur Ferry. Altough an older establishment, the hotel is maintained well, the rooms are comfortable, the staff terrific. We have used this hotel every time we've traveled to San Francisco over the past 35 years and have not been disappointed on any occasion.
Great stay. Thank you. We've stayed before. The location is great. The accomodations are comfortable. Our recent stay did not have a view but the room was appropriate for my husband's disability. We are coming back.
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the last 5 years +. The only good things I can say about it would be the pool (which I have never used) and the breakfast. In every room I have stayed in the beds have been in terrible condition. You can see the huge dip in them. After all this time I can only assume there are no good beds at this hotel. The condition of the hotel needs WORK. It is old old old! After this last visit I will never stay here again. For a small amount of money more you can stay in much nicer properties with nice rooms. This property has an excellent location to shopping and restaurants. They need to tear it down and build something worthy of the money being spent to stay there. They should without doubt be stripped of the Best Western name!
The rooms and in-room wi-fi need to be upgraded. Great location allows for you to stay busy, but I likely would not again stay here due to the run down rooms. At $170 for a motel room, that motel room better be really nice. The rooms here look, feel and smell like the 70's.
This motel has continued to be an excellent choice to stay close to San Francisco. We are in the city in 10 mins. The grounds are always well maintained, beautiful pool, excellent breakfast in a very lovely area of Marin.
Staff was excellent! I loved their smiles and friendly demeanor. Room was comfy, wish it wasn't so far because I wanted double beds but other than distance it was fine choice. I wish the light worked right away when I went in because I arrived late night so I immediately spoke to someone about fixing it. And they came the next day.
Rooms are very clean and some what updated. Comfy beds and a decent free breakfast. Fridge in the room is a nice thing to. It just smelled closed up until we opened the windows for some fresh air. Love the location as it's close to a bunch of our regular destinations.
Great location for sight seeing San Francisco and surrounding areas, used the ferry to go to Pier 39. Motel staff were very helpful , we didn't use the facilities as we were too busy going out but I thought that the golf and basketball was a great idea. Would go back again if we were in the area again
Enjoyed out stay at the Best Western Corte Madera, Ca. Everyone is so pleasant, free breakfast, pool and activities. Even in the rain, we all went into the outside hot tub...Fun! Would stay there again.
This is a very nice hotel, better than the Marriotts I usually stay at. When I have to be in the bay area I will stay at this hotel. I loved it. The room was beautiful, very clean, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. I have no complaints. I was not able to try the breakfast buffet due to my circumstances but it sounded more like real breakfast than continental. If it was a full breakfast buffet then the cost of the room is reasonable. I am a senior veteran with AAA and AARP and I thought I might get a little better rate but the breakfast I could not partake in may have justified the price. This hotel is right off the freeway, easy to get to and VERY quiet. I was very impressed and very satisfied. Good bye Marriott!
I stayed in Best Western last weekend and it was good, excelent people, rooms clean, area clean , close to mall in corte Madera, my daughter school in San Rafael (Dominican University) was perfect choice. I will stay again next month.
I stay here at least once a year and have never been disappointed. The rooms are clean, good sized and have enough furniture for a couple. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is a hot meal with egg, waffles, sausage/bacon and the usual continental fare. Located across the street from a shopping mall that has several restaurant choices and nearby another large mall.
This Best Western has a lot going for it. Location and weather. A large outdoor pool and hot tubs throughout the complex and is set up for enjoying the temperate climate of N. California. The rooms are in quiet setting even though it's right off a busy thoroughfare. It's family and single person friendly. And convenient to shopping. We highly recommend it and keep coming back whenever we are in the area.
My partner and I along with two other couples stayed at the Corte Madera Best Western for New Year's Eve. We were attending a party in the area and this was the perfect meeting place for all of us to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rate was very reasonable and I appreciated the fact that it was also very clean and quiet.
Very reasonably priced and extremely clean and quiet . Excellent location close to San Francisco and wine country. Great shopping at The Village Shopping center and directly across the street...You will not be disappointed.
We had to stay one night before a medical procedure at UCSF in San Francisco. This hotel is right next to the freeway with easy access. We always stay at Best Western if possible as their amenities are wonderful and their service exemplary.
This is the second time we've stayed at this hotel for our Christmas Eve family gathering. The rooms are adequate and the breakfast this year was much improved over 2 years ago. The heating system was bit noisy during the night but it was cold so we needed to leave it on. There was a fairly large gap where the door closed letting in cold air. Some fresh weatherstripping would probably help.
Nice hotel. Excellent service. Professional staff. Would, will, stay again. No real complaints. Can't beat the location relative to my work in San Rafael. Traffic conditions are perfect. We will stay here again. I have recommended to our staff to stay here. Thanks
The staff here is always wonderful. The rooms are always clean and spacious. Very easy access to the 101 freeway, gas, and there is a great barbecue restaurant in the same parking lot. There is lots of great shopping very nearby. I've stayed here for both business and leisure and recommend it for both. The breakfast is good and convenient. Ample parking makes it convenient for coming in and out.
Room was very clean and comfortable, all the fixtures and heating system worked correctly, very close to good restaurants and shopping, grounds and parking very clean and well maintained, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, I dont usually single out staff for comment as i know it is a team effort to service and satisfy a guests stay but definitely special mention must be made of Tamir on the front desk, during my many years as a business traveller rarely have i come across an individual who excels more than he at customer service. Congratulations to the whole team and to the management as well who i am sure are responsible for this high level of customer service. Don Fonceca
This off-road hotel is like no other I've stayed t of its type. It's lie a mini-resort. Full size olympic pool, two jacuzzis, basketball court, putting green, fireplace in the lobby, free breakfast buffet (and better than many are restaurants). The staff is very kind and helpful, and the hotel grounds and rooms are clean. We really enjoyed our stay, and plan to make it our place when visiting points north of San Francisco including Muir Woods, and Muir and Stinson Beaches.
Bed was incredibly comfortable. The heater/air conditioner was quieter than any hotel I've ever stayed in. Internet was more dependable than any other hotel I've stayed in. I appreciated having an in-room refrigerator. Everything was clean. Housekeeping staff was friendly and professional. I loved the deck outside my room. The pool temperature was just right.
Bugs Bugs Bugs, Good news is there is a Safeway across the street where you can buy a bottle of RAID. My suggestions is spray the room at check in go back across the street to the Cheesecake Factory and have dinner then buy some clean sheets, return to the room install sheets and sleep. Next day go to the city and check into a real hotel.
This is a lovely hotel. Close to shops and restaurants. The grounds are like a little oasis with lots of outdoor space to play or rest. It is close to the freeway on and off ramps with a gas station across the street. The staff was accommodating when I asked to have a microwave put in my room and there is a little refrigerator so I could bring my own food. The room was comfortable and clean and had a great balcony that I could enjoy - which I did! I always enjoy staying at this hotel.
Check in was quick....meaning she didn't say anything beyond hello and here is your key while her "trainer" was there sipping coffee and just staring. We went to our room and left not knowing the bathroom spelt like mold. At this time I am to tired to complain...just shut the bathroom door. Kids screaming in the courtyard. Because I booked through Orbitz (as they owed me a free night) I am not awarded my points. But, as a Diamond member I can now see how you play. Never will be back...will never recommend. Novato Oaks Inn is the way to go. Disgusting. Oh, by the way I dont complain....rather write a review that sticks with people. First time here I loved it.....that's is when I used my Best Western card number to book. It is a shame.
only one con... - asked for an accessible room... not only did we not get an accessible room, but we got a second floor one. complimentary breakfast was ok. very nice rooms though! and nice staff, will stay again
Extremely pleasant stay. Clean, attractive upstairs room had small balcony looking out through shade trees to courtyard/pool. Some might have found it small, but it was completely adequate to my needs. Front desk people were good-humored and helpful getting me straightened out after I had taken the wrong exit. I had a room on the side most distant from the freeway, and slept well there. An excellent seafood restaurant across the street. Very happy to find a Recyclables wastebasket beside the regular one. I'd certainly stay here again.
I never thought a Best Western would be so nice! Huge pool and lounge area. Check in staff were super friendly. Remarkably good room quality for the money. The location is relatively close to Muir Woods.
this hotel will take advantage of people who need to stay on a weekend when other hotels in the area are filled. We needed to be near Petaluma CA and all B.W. hotels were full due to some event going on in the area. Only available BW hotel within 20mil range was BW Corte Madera. Not any nicer than BW Novato but about $130 more a night. They do not give discounts for military or veterans as most BW do and they take advantage of people's desperation at a later date. This was a good BW when I stayed there over 5yrs. ago but has raised prices on a daily basis are too high for what it is. Rooms are nice but small and it is older than most. People are nice and food is as good as any other BW I stayed in.
This is an old school hotel that has been updated. The front desk was friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean. The bed was very comfortable with fresh white bedding and a great mattress. We had a small balcony overlooking the huge pool. The breakfast, served at a restaurant next door was included and very well done. The location just off of Rte. 101 was easy to sightsee both north and south.
Had stayed here last year and enjoyed. Had the same room again and the stay was just as enjoyable. The Pool is a great asset and the surroundings are very nice. No Interstate noise in my room but very convenient. My room had a balcony and it was very enjoyable to sit out in the evening. Breakfast was improved from last year with a better choice of items which would now suit most tastes. My only negative was I had asked at check-in about using Traveller Cheques to pay for the room & was told they would be accepted. However when I came to check out they would not accept them & I had to find a bank to exchange them which luckily I did near by as I was flying out that morning so any delay was not welcome. All the other Best Westerns I had stayed in that vacation had accepted them.
We recently used this hotel for a family wedding. It was convenient to our venue and to the city of SF, the staff were very accommodating with room changes, shuttles to ferry, even shuttles to our meet and greet party. Although the rooms are a bit dated, they were clean, and quiet.
We stayed at the Best Western Corte Madera Inn during October 2015. This hotel has friendly staff, however the hotel is old and in desperate need of major renovations. I would not recommend hotel. It is extremely overpriced for the value received. Consider staying elsewhere.
We find that convenient location nice grounds, make this hotel a good choice in Mari. The rooms could be updated, but the grounds are nice. There is a pond full of a variety of bird, an above average pool, a place to shot hoops, exercise room, etc.
Keep in mind--my company paid for my stay at the Inn so my review is not because I feel like I was cheated out of any money. I would also like to say the staff was extremely kind and courteous. Popcorn ceilings and noisy wall furnace if you run the heat/air. The rooms have actually been updated with carpet, decor, counters, but it is still old. If you are a swimmer they do have a great outdoor pool. They also had a nice outdoor patio by the pool. For the price though, I'm afraid I can't recommend the Inn.
Minor issues, like a small bath and a humming noise 24/7 from the refrigerator. Loved the balcony. Very clean. TV picture wasn't very good, but wasn't there to watch tv. No room in the bath for toiletries.
This best western is very very dated. What made it better was the room we had, has a rear exit door to a large court yard with pool, fire pit, bbq grill, court, miniature putting, ect. Also had a very nice breakfast. Would we stay again, maybe?.
We stayed 3 nights. Excellent room, pool, breakfast and guest laundry room. Loved it! Very nice people working at this hotel. The whole experience was so wonderful we turned a 2 night stay into a 3 night stay. Would go back if we could. Best Western Rewards Customers!
We stayed at Best Western, Corte Madera for two nights due to its proximity to San Francisco and the sights in Marin County. Check-in was quick and efficient and the staff friendly. Rooms are in several two-story buildings and our room (127) was at the rear of the property. It was quiet, clean, had a nicely-firm queen bed, and was a good size for two travelers. There is a large pool, jacuzzi, and a small guest laundry on the premises. A good buffet breakfast is served in the small BBQ restaurant adjacent to the parking lot. We also ate dinner there and thought the food was very good. Each room has an outdoor seating area and the common areas are full of flowers and nicely kept up. Our room rate ($175 per night) was reasonable for the area and far less than the rates charged over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Only negatives were a loud air conditioner in the room that was signaling it was due for service. My wife likened it to a "jet engine" noise. Fortunately, I always travel with ear plugs. Also, the guest laundry area had only two washers and two dryers. They were inexpensive ($1.00 each), but one washer was out of service. If you have a lot of laundry to do you might want to check out one of the laundromats in the area. I reported both problems at check-out and my feeling was that these issues would be addressed promptly.
Always stay at this hotel in the Bay Area. I particularly love the lap pool on the property. Staff is always great. Location is perfect for getting on Hwy 101 and doing business in all directions. Many good places to eat and shop in the area.
We used this hotel as a starting point for a tour of Northern California. The hotel is older but is by no means worn down. Everything was clean, in good repair and the bathroom had a shower that did actually work very well, not your usual leaking thing that puts water all over the place and it had a glass door, too (I hate those curtains). The outside area of the hotel looks nice and features a unusually large pool for a BW hotel. Breakfast is your usual BW dependable self. Nothing special we were missing some more fresh fruits and found the coffee from the "Keurig" machine in our room much better than the one in the breakfast area. Staff is really friendly and helpful. All in all we felt welcome and enjoyed our stay.
