Sure Hotel by Best Western Saint-Quentin Ouest
"Won't stay there ever again"
Борислав П, 16 Août 2026

No parking was available even after I got the confirmation that they will book a spot for me. Very disappointed as I had to spin around the hotel few times to find somewhere to park. / On the street and not safe /.This is not the first negative comment about their parking. The came up with the technical issue reason lol. Room size ok for family of 4 but no air conditioning, absolute nightmare in the summer. Can't even sleep as you are literally boiling, sweating all night long. Loud music all night long from the bars which are basically infront of the hotel. Not recommended for a family stay.

"Nice hotel but avoid the breakfast"
JuliaH961, 03 Août 2026

For a recent family overnight stay we had 3 double rooms, one of which was made up with an extra bed for 3 young adults. All of the rooms were slightly different and the check-in staff v pleasant and efficient. My big and comfortable room didn't have a mini-bar fridge but that didn't matter as my sister's did, and they all had a kettle. The aircon was thankfully efficient and my shower was great. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, we recommend l'Annexe which is very close. Where this hotel fell down was the breakfast, we felt very sorry for the one person trying to serve breakfast and run check out at the same time. The « hot » part of the buffet was bacon (which set off the fire alarm) and scrambled eggs. For 6 of us there was enough bacon for one sandwich and by 09H30 all the viennoiseries were gone. So for me I consider breakfast was an expensive tea for the road, and I brought my own teabags! When you book on Best Western website it's called hotel & spa but there's no spa at the moment.

"Great small hotel near Reims, France"
Connector17596002414, 17 Juillet 2026

Surrounded by by vineyards, the Chateau offers a beautiful restaurant and bar with great views and very good food and service. The rooms are spacious and also provide beautiful views. And when Chateau's restaurant was closed, they recommended and great restaurant in Reims (about 20 minutes away).

"Excellent room but shame it was a very hot Sunday!!"
Ustaritz, 24 Juin 2026

We chose this hotel more for the situation as we were returning to the UK but were more than pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Good location in town with great underground parking. Modern hotel and staff made us very welcome. Our room was truly excllent and there can be no complaints at all. It included a very spacious, sunny terrace but, unfortunately, it was just far to hot for anything other than drying clothes and towels! Again unfortunately, it was a Sunday and the World Cup was on in the bar area and also outside which meant only the restuarant for us. This was more than acceptable until a party of about 20 came in and shattered the peace!!! The normal dining menu was suspended and instead a "Bistro" menu only was available. The sole reason that we might not consider using it as a stopover in future would be the distance to the autoroutes but the town looks as if it would be well worth a visit,

"Trip to Soissons with the grandchildren"
Claude B, 15 Juin 2026

Great location in a very quiet and safe area. The rooms are spacious, featuring a double sink in the bathroom, and both the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Parking is conveniently available under the hotel. Breakfast is served until 10:00 am. On the first morning, we arrived at 8:45 am, but the buffet was not well-maintained, and several items were missing; we had to ask the staff to replenish the food. On the second morning, we came down at 10:00 am and experienced similar issues.

"One of the worst places we ever stayed in"
Luc S, 04 Mai 2026

Completely run down and old fashioned - it looks like no maintenance has been done for ghe last 20 Years. Extremely incompetent staff, friendly but behaved like they were a bunch of friends having fun. The bathroom was full of mould and the bath towels smelled bad. The room and bed were clean. We had a spacious family room with 2 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms had a very noisy minibar positioned just in the middle of the room (luckily you could simply unplug it). The magnetic card system for the room door was broken and I had to run down to the reception 3 times as they insisted the card got demagnetised- but the problem was the lock. The worst was the restaurant: we had initially booked a table for 7pm. At 6.30 I called them to let them know we would arrive 1h late because of traffic. The guy on the phone insisted they would not accept delays of more than 30 minutes in order not to disturb the service for the other guests but he would check with the kitchen. He ultimately told us that it was fine but we should not arrive later than 8pm (knowing the restaurant is open until 9pm). So we rushed on the road to get there in time, only to find out that the restaurant was completely empty and we were literally the only guests!! Completely outrageous! Cherry on the top: the burger we had was the most disgusting burger I probably ever had. This is by far not a 4 star hotel… not even a 3 star! Better to take any of the cheaper 3 stars in the same area.

"very disappointing in many ways"
inspector61, 31 Mars 2026

lovely position and nice building ,helpful receptionist called Jad , bedroom was adequate and bed comfortable. No English tea or T V programmes. Dining room furnished in a cheap style not fitting the building, menu basic with little choice. The bar stock very poor no choice of liqueurs. Breakfast no one in attendance, tables not laid, poor choice of food, no croissants and when we eventually found a young to ask he did not want to help us , eventually he wet to get some and was very rude when we thanked him .The water for coffee or tea was not hot , there was no decaffeinated coffee There was no one, on reception when we left, fortunately we had paid our account the night before, so we could not report a drip from the ceiling in the toilet in room 107. we left our keys on the desk. This is not the standard for a 4 star hotel. This could be a lovely hotel under good management and properly trained staff. also better furnishings in the communal areas

"Hotel is tired, neglected and short-staffed. Clearly mismanaged. Food abysmal"
Eatmorefood, 20 Novembre 2025

On arrival I was given the code for the car park which is directly opposite the hotel, so easy to locate. However, having a right hand drive car, by the time I had keyed in the code and saw the barrier rise - I dashed round to the drivers door - and started to drive in, only to hear a loud bang on my roof, which was the barrier coming down. There is clearly no sensor on the barrier, so anyone in a right hand drive vehicle will risk damage. A word of warning for those who prebook parking like we did. Several hours before arriving at this hotel, I got an e mail telling me that the car park fee had been taken from my bank account. At check in the sole staff member tried to charge me for parking and only I had retained the e mail, he was quite insistent. He appeared surprised when I showed him the e mail showing the payment extraction. We were given a large bedroom on the 3rd floor by the only staff member visible in the entire hotel. The mattress was much narrower than the bed. Heating controls in the room just did not work. The bathroom had a towel rail, with a thermostat alongside, but that would not work either so on a cold November night, showering in an ice cold bathroom was no fun. After the initial experience, I thought a drink might be appropriate, so the same person who had dealt with check in, poured me a glass of Calvados and a tiny glass of champagne which was lacking any bubbles. Interestingly, the Calvados came with 5 small dead flies in it, so either the glass had not been checked or drinks are not sealed properly. When I highlighted the protein in the Calvados, I was not able to get another from another bottle, as this was the last bottle in the hotel, so I accepted an alternative drink, which to be fair, I was not charged for. Getting out of the hotel was an interesting experience as all interior handles on the external doors are missing - presumably broken and not replaced. The plant holders which line three floors in the open area outside the lift - had lots of stale dried compost still in them, which may have helped cause the numerous cobwebs around them. Clearly no cleaning at all in this public area. Breakfast is apparently available from 6.30 to 10.00. It has no service whatever - we came down just before 09.00 to find cold bacon, cold sausages, lukewarm eggs, the worst selection of cheap supermarket bread and croissants and smoked salmon that tasted strongly of disinfectant. The special house coffee pods disintegrated when inserted into the machine and what came out eventually was undrinkable. It certainly did not taste of coffee. This hotel should be ashamed of their breakfast offering. The worst we have experienced in many French hotels, including some with 3 star ratings. No staff appeared in the restaurant at any time, so nothing is refreshed or heated and of course there was no interest in whether we required anything other than the rubbish food sitting around. Check out revealed again one other staff member who demonstrated a couldn't care less attitude. Overall this hotel showed all the signs of gross mismanagement and a total disinterest in customer service. How it has a Best Western Plus affiliation is beyond me.

"Good hotel"
Neil M, 24 Octobre 2025

Very good hotel just off motorway, the reception was friendly, the room good for 3 stars, bathroom needed a bit on modernising. The food and service in restaurant was very good. Will be back.

"Disaster"
Vincent D, 29 Juillet 2025

To be honest, I thought the receptionist who checked us in was stupid. He couldn't speak a word; even a greeting was too much. Once in our room, we found half a sandwich and a sandwich wrapped in aluminum foil from the previous guests in the refrigerator. On the bathroom vanity was a half-inch of dust with loose electrical cables in between. Clearly, the cleaning team consists entirely of small people who can't see over the top of the vanity! We were also eagerly looking forward to the spa facilities. But that, too, was a nightmare! Sure, we could use the jacuzzi and pool, but that was about it. Loose tiles everywhere, a non-functioning Turkish steam bath, air vents practically rusted through everywhere, sunbeds on the terrace torn, no windows to see through due to moisture buildup between the double-glazed windows, and so on. This, too, is far from what you expect from a 4-star hotel! Ordering a drink at the bar in the evening was also quite an experience. The evening receptionist also had to manage the bar and (with all due respect) had absolutely no experience or knowledge. She claimed ice in a gin and tonic wasn't necessary because it came from the fridge. Think again!!! And they'd never even heard of a wedge of lime or lemon! A glass of house red was also quite a challenge. Where was the wine again...??? This hotel desperately needs a manager who knows how to tackle things, who invests in sufficient and, above all, skilled staff, and who can get everything back on track. This hotel has completely gone off the rails, certainly doesn't deserve a 4-star rating, and is unworthy of being a Best Western!!! Aside from the need for trained staff, the only thing that could save this hotel is a more than decent renovation of all areas, from the lobby and rooms to the spa area. Under the circumstances, you certainly won't see me back in this hotel. Please take proper note of this review. It's not five to twelve, but fifteen minutes past twelve!
