"Good alternative to others"

Booked in the Ibis Styles in Macon but did not like the look of area nor the look of the hotel so drove on until we found this hotel. Dead centre of town with gated parking - we got the last spot so do reserve - the staff were brilliant, the room more than sufficient with a lovely view over the roofs for miles! Very comfortable stay for the one night before pressing on but in my store of places to stop!

This is our third visit to this hotel on route to Provence and we'll be going again. Access from the motorway is easy and the hotel itself is in the centre. It is outstanding value for money. The rooms are very comfortable and the public area is welcoming with a free Nespresso coffee machine. "Express" breakfast is terrific in terms of price, range of food and its quality. There is also secure parking at the rear of the hotel that you can book; I suggest you don't park in the road outside because bird droppings are a problem! In addition, the staff at reception are excellent, friendly and helpful. Tip: There is an Irish bar just across the road from the hotel that serves very good salads.

The receptionist working on Saturday may 31st in the evening is an awful violent man. He verbally assaulted a young woman. She walked in and asked if she could use the washroom in the hotel. The receptionist said yes. After she was done, she tried to leave and he had the front door locked, started walking towards her screaming that she shouldn't have used the bathroom if she wasn't a client. She tried to tell him she was a tourist and she didn't know it was not allowed but he kept screaming at the poor woman. She was visibly shaking. He finally let her leave but that behaviour was unacceptable!!!!

Absolutely loved it here, the team were more than helpful, could t do enough to make my stay comfortable! Would highly recommend you to stay here. No matter what you need the team will get it sorted for you. I asked for a room Fan and it was sorted even though the hotel doesn't supply them as an option! First class service.

"Reasonable transit stop"

Average but tidy and disciplined transit-like hotel with spacious connecting rooms for kids in that part of France. However the staff is friendly and happy with rooms ready in 5 minutes even though the arrival time was at around noon as in BW Les 7 Fontaines in Tournus. The breakfast is poor. The location is within a walking distance to the center. Good parking. Many charming restaurants nearby. A real relief after horribly managed BW in Tournus.

"No heating"

The heating did not function. The water in the toilet was running the whole night. The rooms are very small, no upgrade for my diamond select status. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, easy free parking on the road in front of the hotel.

Nice welcome when we arrived in a downpour. Spacious room with a comfy bed. Spotlessly clean but one niggle was the soap dispenser in the shower was empty after on squeeze. Good breakfast buffet. The parking is a bit tight but very convenient.

Our first praise must go to the fantastic staff member who checked us in. He was very friendly and polite - unfortunately our visit coincided with a holiday in France so many local restaurants were closed and the hotel does not have a restaurant... The reception staff kindly recommended a nearby burger place (which was excellent!). The room was very comfortable and had been cleaned to a high standard. Our room featured a balcony that looked out onto beautiful vineyard hills and parts of the town. Breakfast was good quality (I often judge a breakfast by the standard of the coffee, which in this case was great!). Whilst it was a little bit tricky to find the hotel initially by car, I would say that the location is fine. I would also say that it is worth traversing into Villefranche for this hotel because it was a great stay.

"Comfortable Hotel"

My husband and I stayed here for three nights when we were in the area for a wedding. The hotel staff were consistently pleasant and helpful. Check-in and check-out was efficient. Staff spoke a multitude of languages. An iron and ironing board were provided upon our request. The hotel's location is very convenient to the main shopping street in the area, although we visited during summer holidays when many of the shops closed for a week or two and just left a sign in the window. The room and bathroom were immaculate - the housekeeping was consistently excellent throughout our stay. Wifi worked well. Parking was easy to come by, and there is no cost if spots are available in the courtyard. While the hotel has a single elevator, it moves quickly and never caused us any delays. Only a couple small things that could be improved: first, the bathroom amenities consisted only of one soap in a dispenser and a small bottle of lotion. While the soap is meant to be shampoo/hand soap/shower gel, it just seemed out of place in such a nice room to have such minimal amenities. Second, the television channels were very limited and the reception was spotty. This isn't a place that you should need to watch much television, but we found it somewhat frustrating when the connection would often cut out during the evening news before bed. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

The staff were exceptionally organised, friendly and helpful upon our arrival and there was plenty of parking available. The rooms were a highlight - spacious, stylishly decorated, an incredibly comfortable bed, and shutters that ensured an undisturbed night's rest. Only stayed one night, so didn't have a chance to use the gym. Restaurants within walking distance, and a lovely park across the way to enjoy. Breakfast was pretty standard, with a good selection of options available. I would definitely stay here again.
