Best Western San Diego/Miramar Hotel

We stayed one night while travelling. This is an older property that has had some level of care. Breakfast was adequate. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. the bathtub insert had issues and it was like standing on a waterbed. Also, we heard a rattle at our door at 8:30 and it was housekeeping trying to enter. No knock, just coming in. There were no "do not disturb" signs in the room. Just seemed odd. Overall just an OK stay.

we enjoy staying in Best Western when we travel and this one at Miramar in San Diego was by far the worst condition hotel we have stayed in. When you flush the toilet, you weren't sure that it was going to shut off and would cycle for more than a minute. The water pressure was horrible, there was a half finished repair to the back of the bathroom door like there had been a fight and someone kicked the door in. Paid extra to have 1000 bonus reward point and received a room on the back of the hotel near the freeway and the traffic noise was unreal.

Wow. This was much better than I expected. I was surprised at how pleasant everything was and how easy best western made work travel. I will be using best western here on out and I look forward to it.

It's the best hotel for my needs. Clean, convenient to my work, excellent rewards program, professional employees, comfortable, great hot breakfast it's all good. The only thing I don't like is the tv remote and no channel guide.

We always stay here when we have businesses in La Jolla. Plenty of things down the road for whatever needs you may have. Nice staff, accommodating, and accessible. Relatively quiet and reasonable value.

Well, this is a nice hotel for a budget stay but it's definitely not a best western PLUS as the counter attendant told us. The rooms themselves are OK and probably up to Best Western standards and they were definitely clean with a good bed and plenty of towels. But the fixtures are kind of outdated not run down. For example, they have a little bitty squatty toilet in the bathroom instead of a nice comfort style fixture. For the price it's a fair deal and you better be ready to hear the Jets from Miramar naval air station fly ride over the hotel with the afterburners on wide-open which we love to hear. The parking is free but pretty tight. The hot breakfast is adequate.

Very nice room. Clean Room we selected was large had a fold away sofa Enjoyed breakfast. Didn't like bathroom tub stopper not in tub. Perfect location for visiting the zoo and safari park.. would have preferred more light in the room

Nice place. Sofa beds need new mattresses though, they were terrible. Besides that.... would stay here again. Front desk was very friendly. Good for a one night stay. Pretty good location to get to places. Pretty quiet location. Pool is a decent size too.

Was a little hesitant to stay here after reading the negative reviews but it was a pretty typical hotel stay, not great but OK. The room was mostly clean, bed wasn't real comfortable and the toilet seat in the bathroom was long past its lifespan. The hot breakfast was tasty and fresh too, much better than most free breakfasts. Loved the mini fridge and microwave in room too. Parking is limited and it can get a little noisy weekday mornings from Miramar Rd traffic and fighters from the air station but it wasn't bad. Pool and hot tub were nice and clean but couldn't find any pool towels. Great location right off the 15 before it forks to the 163 so makes it easy to drive to anywhere you want to go in about 15-30 minutes.

This room was super clean! Def better than I expected. We traveled with a little one so the ease of going down to eat breakfast in pajamas before getting ready was nice. We did not experience as much noise as some reviews mentioned.

I stayed in a corner room on the property and it was huge! Loved it. Very quiet hotel but being next to two highway, it can get a bit noisy with early morning traffic. Breakfast area was well stocked with many selections. It had a helpful front desk and they were very aware of rewards members.

This is the second Best Western I have stayed at in California and I was happy with my stay. Some of the reviews I had seen worried me (there were reviews saying lots of homeless gathered here and about ants being present) but I didn't experience either one of those and felt safe. The room was clean, except for a smear on a light switch but it really wasn't that big of a deal. The man at the front was helpful and went above and beyond when making a last minute change to my reservation. I am only giving 4 stars because the towels are a little rough and this location is a little “far” from popular places. If you rent a car it won't matter but if you're taking an Uber it can get pretty pricey. Overall, very satisfied with my stay

Overall the stay was a little stressful. We got to the room and noticed the door would not lock from the inside so we went to the front desk and address this she gave us a key to a new room. We went to check out the other room and there was people already in that room. We went back to the front desk told her that she seemed confused so we just kept the room with the busted door lock. It was a stressful night we didn't sleep well thinking somebody could break in at any time. The room was clean and breakfast was good.

To begin, I'm very picky, so when I say that this particular Best Western San Diego/Miramar has an almost unbeatable combination of location, friendly, competent professionals, cleanliness, and a feeling of safety and good vibes even when sold out is an amazing statement. We have seldom felt so comfortable even in much ritzier places. The entire staff was helpful and exceptional.This is a solid Inn. The lobby, breakfast area, and room were very clean and well maintained. Everything worked properly.

Valerie (front desk) is exceptional. Grounds were clean. I have a very expensive car and I had NO issues parking here (even though I parked on the street a few times because the spaces are so thin....people double park unfortunately). Only thumbs down is that its a stones throw away from a freeway lane and the AirForce base in less than 5 miles away (lots of helicopter sounds and aircraft in general).I really have nothing to complain about. I'll end this by saying again....Valerie was exceptional. Sweet. Friendly. Super cool reading glass frames. Very kind human being. Great lady.

Terrible stay, rooms smelled like smoke, coffee tasted so bad. They served for breakfast the same type of food and it was tasteless. Looks like homeless people has access to the hotel at the time of breakfast, it was very unpleasant to see them taking food and utensils

Was very pleased with our stay, but for some reason the room had a weird smell, it smelled like mildew and old. But other than that an overall great stay at this hotel. This is our second time back at this hotel this year. We will continue to use it.

The swimming pool is not clean. There are a mix of travelers, transients, and blue collar workers who stay at the hotel. Rooms are clean. Location is a bit sketchy, but conveniently located. It is OK to stay if you are budget-minded and want free parking, free breakfast and easy access to the highway going into San Diego.

We were concerned about the hotel after reading some recent negative reviews. However, we found the hotel to be great. The room was nicely decorated, clean, and everything was in proper working order. We would have no problems booking with San Diego/Miramar BW again.

Such a bad smell in the elevator. There is no sense of security and privacy because people can walk by your window. The air condition was almost broken with tapes attaching, making HUMMING SOUND and IMPOSSIBLE to sleep!

It is not a good place to stay. Staffs are not very helpful, no housekeeping came to our room throughout the duration of our 4 days and 3 nights stay. I requested from the front desk for clean towels, she asked me to come to the front desk and pick up the towels. The weather was a bit too warm that weekend and the ice machine is not working. Again, I asked the front desk, she said try the machine on the 3rd floor is hardly dispensing ice.

Hotel felt safe though the neighbor hood looked shabby. Quiet and great breakfast for everyone. Rooms are okay, bed was comfortable but you can hear noise travel through the door like there is no insulation (Don't know if this is an issue with just one room). kids were enjoying the pool. Lots of food options near by, close to the freeway. parking was adequate. If you are checking in after 9 PM, it is better to inform the hotel ahead.

Even though the staff at the hotel was very polite and helpful, the hotel overall doesn't meet the Best Western standards. Unless Best Western lowered its standards and now allows poorly maintained, dated rooms to be part of the brand.

Very poor service, the GM seemed very irresponsible and forgetful of things!! Just not expected from senior management, speaks of the team and work culture below. We found the team rude and mannerless, expect one. But overall very bad stay and experience..not recommended at all.

The hotel is very clean and modern. The rooms are rather large with a big screen TV and a comfortable bed. The pool is well maintained and the spa was in perfect working order. The area is very quiet because it is located on a side street and away from traffic. Overall, a good place to stay when in the area.

Highly recommend. We couldn't have been happier. Manager was very accommodating and very friendly (and funny). Breakfast was excellent. Jacuzzi was perfect. Fridge and microwave. We were right by the elevator and never heard other guests. Very peaceful place. Loved it.

Spur of the moment change of plans, late .my former home away from home was ' full" However the night shift here was more than happy to welcome a tired mechanic. He even provided a shaver .next morning feeling great I found snack and soda machines breakfast and check out personal who truly cared about my stay

Breakfast was great, staff was friendly, rooms were a little dirty - missing tiles in the shower, detached drain stop, bathroom door had a hole in it that was patched with plaster. Overall it was fine, slept great, just a lot of money for a pretty cheap hotel.

Definately exceeded my expectations. The morning breakfast is far beyond a typical continental breakfast. It's a perfect balance of warm food like waffles/pancakes and cold food like cereal and muffin variety. There is way more food I'm just giving a brief example. Hotel staff is GREAT and super helpful and very courteous.

It is sad that people who request non-smoking rooms don't always get them. Many rooms appear to be for smokers. Room was clean but smoke particulates made for a wheezy stay for us. Clothes smell of smoke and need to be washed even if not. Breakfast good. Parking is hard to find spot after 8 pm. Everyone clears out by 8 am. Lots of construction workers stay here.

We have always received great service and an excellent breakfast. Yes parking can be a little crowded but for its location and cost it is well worth it. Easy access to the freeway. The staff is great and friendly and willing to help. Due to COVID the rooms are not cleaned on a regular basis during your stay, but that is not a real problem. If you run out of soap etc the front desk is always there to help you. Never had a problem and have staed there several times.

Parking is cramped, no housekeeping service in three weeks. Rates all over the place, way higher than Government rate. Sketchy people living in the parking lot. Noisy housekeeping carts, noisy heater/ac unit.

The staff at Best Western San Diego/Miramar were just amazing, they were right there to answer any and all questions, they made sure I knew where my room was. The room smelt nice and clean. No stains on the walls, bedding almost looked new, bathroom was clean with no hairs from other people

This Hotel has been one of my most enjoyable yet. Everything from the staff to the amenities to the rooms it's always on point. What I really love is how the staff here still know how to provide excellent customer service. These days that's hard to find. The 7 Seas down the way could learn a lesson on customer service from this Hotel.

Helpful and cheerful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms.sparkling pool and spa.delicious full breakfast. We stayed with a family group of eight people and all needs were met. Location is nice and near to a lot of amenities and attractions.Will be our go-to place. Weather was great.

We visit San Diego often to see family, and the Best Western San Diego/Miramar Hotel is always our comfortable, reasonably priced "home away from home." The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and cozy. The hotel is central to the area we frequent. And the sound of the jet fighters taking off from nearby Miramar each morning is always a pleasant "Top Gun" moment!

Stayed here while participating in a weekend senior soccer tournament at nearby Hourglass Park. The staff was friendly and helpful. You can tell they care! Enjoyed the reliable and fast internet. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Convenient location near shopping, food and freeway. A good value.

Highly recommend staying here! Great service thanks to Ana (HK manager) for staying on top of everything, and hooking me up with a beautiful room. Rooms were very clean, didn't smell bad, and overall a very peaceful stay.

The staff was warm and welcoming. They really work as a team. The rooms were beautiful. Clean and amenities were perfect. Breakfast was delicious. All safe and clean. Would recommend. Will stay again.

We arrived sort of late in the evening and had a safe Covid check-in with an outdoor window. At first we had the handicapped room (bathroom is huge) right next to breakfast, but preferred a room with a couch . Amy 2 was wonderful in making the change immediately. We then spent the next five nights in room 110 -- plenty of parking. My window screen pull was broken but fixed within minutes of changing rooms. Breakfast is pretty great -- hot waffles/eggs/suassage/bacon and fresh fruit. Also they have toast, bagels, muffins, danish pasteries as well. Jerry (I think that was his name) was so hard working, smiling, and receptive to help everyone during breakfast. Service was great -- they don't come in your room unless you request it which we preferred due to Covid. However they gave us ample towels, washclothes, etc and took our garbage. It's not a five star hotel-- just a two, but very clean and practical. We also used the business office and lobby to meet with some friends. Pool is Ok and jacuzzi was working but with warnings due to covid. Very worth the money and excellent nice staff. In fact service was better than many 4 or 5 star hotels we have stayed at.

If you're staying in the San Diego area this hotel is a great choice. Centrally located, Close to the 163 & I-15, 15 min to downtown. Clean & well kept, and quiet. Superior free breakfast...bacon, eggs, waffles, cereal, etc.. Trust me, the best option in the price range!

Every aspect of this hotel exceeded my expectations...starting from an extremely helpful manager Sebastian before my stay to the condition of the overall property to the cleanliness and upgraded comfort of the room to the hot buffet breakfast. I was very impressed considering the hotel class and price!

Had A good time used the pool for couple of hours and it was very nice and peaceful, the breakfast in the morning was a great way to get our day going we also requested a 12;00 o'clock check out and that was no problem, great time.

From the start there were issues. First, the lobby was closed. Instead, there was a “check-in window.” It's straight out of a crime drama where a person is killed in a seedy hotel. However, this is Best Western. Plus, this is Miramar, not some high crime area. Usually, Elite Reward members at the Platinum level get a bottle of water or some gift, but this hotel did not give any complimentary gift or recognition for being a platinum member. Next, the concierge just gave me the keys and walked away. I didn't even know where to go to find my room. After walking around the complex, I found my room. I then went back to my car, but keep in mind that parking is very tight at this hotel. When I opened the door to my room, i was greeted with a musky cigarette odor. This is because Room 137 has a two inch gap between the threshold and the bottom of the door. It was actually missing it's door sill. As a result, bugs and cigarette smoke crept in. Apparently the hotel has a smoking area that was right outside of my room. I tried to make the most of it and hope things would get better, but they didn't. The beds were hard and the pillows were small like decorative cushions and lacked support. The tv had poor reception and the remote was dirty and would only work if you selected channel down. There was only one drawer to store clothes and belongings. Not enough for a family of four. On night two, it was more the same, but this time there were several hotel guests having a party in the pool area after 9 PM. I reported all of this to the concierge, and they did ask the guests to keep the noise down. At this point, I wanted to stay at another Best Western. I was willing to drive 100 miles if need be. I was told that all of the neighboring Best Westerns were booked, but that they would speak to the manager about getting me a discount. As of now, I have not seen that. We were going to stay a third night, but I just ate the bill and drove back to Phoenix. Right before I left, I took photos of the door and other issues. There was caution tape around the jacuzzi, but not in the entry way. Why? It looks tacky. There was trash on the grounds all around the hotel. There was even vomit on the cool decking by the pool. Does anyone clean? I talked to another who was equally appalled at the conditions. He too was documenting everything.

Customer Service seems to be dead these days, but not here. The staff here have always gone above & beyond providing CS as it should be and that's hard to find these days. Never did I get the feeling of asking for too much.

We stayed here for a soccer tournament. Felt very unsafe with my young daughter. A young adult was sleeping in the parking lot in his car and appeared to be on drugs. A gentleman was on the balcony with a bong. Had to check in through a window in the parking lot as the lobby closes at 9:00pm.

We had issues with dirty needles, roaches and ants. Spoke to the office manager Sebastian, who was rude, unprofessional, and apparently his position does not allow to offer any discounts to make up for staying in a roach infested motel with dirty needles. Juan, the front desk supervisor was more helpful and understanding upon check out. Sebastian ended the conversation with hanging up on me when I asked to speak to his boss. Horrible hospitality. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this roach infested motel.

As a elite BW member, I can not recommend this hotel unless you don't mind all the noise late night. Bad: stayed in room facing pool on 1st floor, people partying loud after 1am by pool with no regards to other guests trying to sleep. Did not see management doing anything. Room safe was broken and was not fixed. Good: convenient location, room was clean, breakfast was OK in a bag due to COVID.

My family and I stayed 5 nights. Its in an ok area. Unfortunately another "guest" I think made the stay on the more uncomfortable side. The staff was great and very welcoming. The room was fine/decent.

I was hung up on when I tried to call the front office to ask why I was charged for a room I was not allowed to check in to our use. I literally slept in my car and none of the staff cared it had any concern that I had just spent almost 200 dollars to be turned away after discovering my ID was missing..

The bathroom was not clean we bought cleaner. Disappointed the pool was locked at 6pm all but 1 day. My daughter was extremely disappointed as she loves to swim & that's why we chose this hotel. The sign says 9:30 pm but at 6:15 it was padlocked shut.

I had a great experience at best western friendly staff and swimming pools with jucuzzi I mean what more could you ask for thanks best western. And with it being close to everything you can't lose this is a great vacation place as well..

It wasn't a bad stay. The decor of the room looked just like the picture on the website. Only downfall was the carpet had dirty spots that I'm sure will not come up. There were a few shady people around, but not the hotel's fault. I did see the police cruise through a few times so probably been some issues with the shady people. I was on business so I was by myself, but I would stay again, but I wouldn't stay here with my wife.

I'm a Native Californian & know my way around San Diego... but for those visiting, Freeway friendly & close to all of the fun places San Diego has to offer. The price is right!! For those who have Miramar Based loved ones.. the base is right “Next Door”. The Front Desk is very helpful & friendly- especially Juan. Grab & Go breakfast bags are better than most... warm breakfast Sandwich or Yogurt. Refrigerator & Microwave in room.

My preference is Best Western always.... they have great rates and the service is always the best, even when I travel with my family we always stay at the Best Westerns. Love the grab and go breakfast since I'm always on the go it works perfect for me ;-) Staff and Manager are wonderful.

From the wonderful check in with Amy to a super clean room I can not say enough nice things about this hotel. Close to everything, free parking, and a beautiful room. Hats off to their cleaning staff.

I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. the location is great value for the $$ staff goes out of their way to assist you in any matter Kudos to them. it is centrally located so you have easy access to all parts of San Diego

I am honestly shocked and flabbergasted that this poo-hole had the reviews it had on Expedia cause this was atrocious and frankly well over priced for such garbage. The pics online were very deceptive but had all the other issues not been present, it could have been a decent room with decor and setup; but it wasn't. I don't think I can fully cover every single issue present at this hotel but here are a few key points... Customer service at the front desk was not very hospitable. The hotel was sketchy with druggies, drug deals and lord knows what else going on at all times of the day and night. As a female coming and going by myself at various times of day and night, I definitely didn't feel comfortable and was starting to wonder if I was gonna get trafficked. Parking? Good luck. It's minimal and you might not get any on site. NOISE constantly. No peace, no quiet, EVER. The room itself was disgusting! Stains everywhere, bodily fluid stains, dirt, hair that wasn't mine on the bed, stains on the sheets/comforter, you name it there were stains and gross junk everywhere, didn't want to touch anything with someone else's hand and believe if it was already this disgusting, it probably was laced with Covid too. There were odd holes in the ceiling above the bed, maybe bullet holes or a lookout for a peeping tom? The toilet would run and loudly too out of nowhere startling the daylights out of me on more than one occasion. Then to add a layer of icing on top of an already turd flavored cake, the day I was supposed to check out (check out time is at 11am mind you) I was harassed over 5 times starting at about 6am by housekeeping, waking me up repeatedly. I have never been more pissed. And to top this off I paid how much for this nonsense and disaster!? Never again!! Do yourself a favor and run to a better hotel, this will be one of your bigger regrets if you decide to stay here, trust me.

We have been staying here for years for work, we have gotten to know the team and Sebastian. They all make us feel so welcomed and truly helpful. Sebastian is very attentive specially when we have to add an additional day.... he always accommodates us with our last minute changes !!!

We were glad that we only needed to stay one night. This was a step down from the night before at another BW location. In general, this hotel is unimpressive from the appearance to the rooms. Modified breakfast was a grab and go with poor quality and quantity. We would try something else if we are in the area the next time.

Our initial flight was canceled to San Diego so we called to see if we could cancel the first night and were told by Amy at the desk that It was the airlines problem not the hotels. She was not very understanding at all. Parking was atrocious. Work trucks taking up 2-3 spots each. Had to park at a hotel across the street. No smoke detector in our room but there was a place for one. Boot marks on the wall. Dirty sheets left on the pull out. Loud thumping music could be heard every night. Big gap under the outside door. Will never make this mistake again

I get to stay here fairly often and just wanted all to know that this motel is perfect! Very close to the air base and I-15. Super clean rooms and exceptional people; if you're headed this way, this is the motel you'll want.

The staff was friendly and helpful . The room was clean and comfortable. I extended my stay by an extra night, and the desk clerk provided me with amenities (coffee, towels, etc.) plus fresh fruit from the breakfast items on hand without my even asking. Room reservation was extended with no problem even though the hotel seemed near capacity. I also appreciated the laundry facilities and ice machine available on the ground floor.

I have never felt so welcome by any staff any where else as I have at the Best Western in Miramar Ca. Sebastian and his staff are not only friendly and welcoming but they go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable and at home as possible. The smiles are warmth are real and genuine. Sebastian and his staff have really gone above and beyond to make me feel like family. I honestly can say I genuinely respect and love this entire staff. And they all deserve to be honored and recognized for their superb job especially the Manager Sebastian he is the most genuine friendly understanding person I've met in a long time thank you for making me feel at home. Upon entering my 1st room feces was found running down the outside of the toilet bowl & in spots around the toilet. Upon entering my 2nd room mouse droppings were found in the bathroom, all around the microwave along with dried urine. And a mouse was seen while we were in the room.

I was charged twice for 1 night stay & when i told them that it was taken out my account they lied saying it wasn't authorized on their end. I had to call my bank in the lobby to prove they charged me already & the manager came out the office being loud & belligerent! he wouldn't help & when i told him i was going to record he took off & got in his car and left WITHOUT ASSISTING me! the front desk clerk was no help as well.

I had an excellent stay and the staff was friendly and efficient. Good location nice rooms. the rooms are clean and staff will cater to your needs housekeeping is excellent. Management goes out of their way to assist you in any way they can.

Modern and clean rooms, comfy beds (not too firm/soft), close to freeway but quiet, friendly and accommodating staff, parking close to any room, spacious and clean lobby with snacks and such, complimentary breakfast and internet if you care about that, lots of outlets to power your devices, fair pricing, generous member rewards program.

We had a nice stay and enjoyed our room and staff. We had only one situation with the room. We stayed in room #321. The closet has a spring loaded tab at the top of the closet door. It was broke and a large spring was sticking out. This made the closet unusable. We notified the General Manager upon our departure.

I always stay at this hotel whenever i come to San Diego. Rooms are always clean and don't have any bad smells. Beds are comfortable and have lots of pillows. Bathroom is clean and has a working coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Sabastian is great, always helpful, friendly and even remembers my name, highly recommended.

I was very pleased with the stay. Checking in was a breeze, very friendly and funny clerks. Rooms were clean and ready for us at 2pm as requested. This was a great place to stay in close proximity to all the beaches but not right at the beach. Good value for the price!

The staff and management are fabulous they go out of there way to make you comfortable and are always available. Very friendly Rooms are nice and comfortable. If you need anything they will are ready available.

Amazing customer care and rooms are cozy ! Pool is very clean and property is nice and maintained ! Bedding is very nice and comfortable and everything is kept clean and sanitary! Would recommend staying here for business or just a every day get away !

I've stayed here multiple times and have always been pleased by the service and cleanliness and friendliness of the staff and property! Also close to anything in you would be in need of ! Absolutely recommend for travel or leisure, always great prices as well ! Nice little breakfast also!!

Both times I've stayed there the room was a little musty but the smell went away after turning in the AC. Housekeeping had done a 90% job in cleaning, but I don't blame the hotel. I mostly needed the room for a restfull night and I got that both times. Definitely a HUGE step up from the Comfort Inn next door.

We should get sone kind of discounts since we didnt get to use the immenitues. Like the pool . Sutting in dining and not usung the business area . Maybe a wine bottle or a something to make it more exciting . And one bad thing : cable channel were all messed up . Cant see the tv . Fuzzy channels

The front desk staff very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean, but ours had a slight musty smell, but the AC helped with that. For me and my husband, the beds are very comfortable and great water pressure for the shower. The made service ladies are very nice saying good morning to us each day. It's close to the interstate, but we only heard traffic noise when we stepped outside our room. We had a pool view and it's close to the interstate side. The breakfast has something for everyone. Next time we are in San Diego, we will stay here again. The only problem we had (not hotel staff fault) were people coming in after 11 and leaving before 7 and allowing the doors to slam shut. People are so inconsiderate of those trying to sleep.

Very clean room, comfy bed, fast internet, pleasant hot tub open till 9:30pm, friendly and helpful stuff, well equipped bathroom, descent simple breakfast. The hotel met all my expectations, and more.

We've stayed in this hotel twice while doing seminars for MCAS which is close by. Front desk staff is always friendly and helpful with any of our needs. We will be booking there 3-4 more times before May. Hotel is close to a lot that San Diego has to offer. Great hotel and great value.

Very friendly and efficient check in. Room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Very easy access to the interstate. Breakfast breakfast good. Used the onsite laundry and it was satisfactory. Wifi was unacceptable. Only worked in the breakfast room. Manager just made excuses.

This place was a nice relaxing trip to sunny San Diego. No to far from the beach, great staff, good pool set up, and breakfast was included with my rate. It wasn't extravagant, but it was everything I wanted and the staff were friendly. Thank you!

I lived this hotel during Christmas. I only used my credit card at this hotel for deposit. other expense was made by my husband's card. after I returned to Canada, my card was used at US several times for more than 2000 USD! my card was still with me at Canada but it keeps being used at US. why that happened?? the only person I doubt is the hotel staff who took my card information. if the hotel hire someone without background check and cannot guarantee our security, I won't recommend anyone live there.

Exceptional staff! Front desk, maid service, and food service staff were kind and competent. The hotel was an excellent value. Very convenient location near the freeway. The night desk guy even moved his car to give me a better space.

Really close to freeway, easy drive to activities in San Diego from shopping to the beaches, the Zoo, Sea World and Balboa Park. Even if you wanted to take a day trip to Mexico. Rooms were nice and comfortable.

This was a great place to stay instead of driving home after Thanksgiving dinner with family. Although drive was not far the weather was bad and wanted to get off the road. Very clean and comfortable.

Decent Best Western, but there were some issues: The construction noise started the first morning of our stay at 5am, so after driving 9 hours to get here after midnight, it was early morning. There is also very limited parking at this location. On our last night, there was nowhere to park. Two cars were both taking up two spots, and I asked the person at the desk if he could find out whose car one of them was and ask him to move, but he refused. The other spot being "straddled" was a shady looking guy that stood outside each night leaning on his car, smoking, with a bunch of alcohol sitting on his hood. When I asked the employee if he could ask THAT guy to move, he told me to do it myself if I wanted the spot, and told me that guy hangs out there every weekend, smoking and drinking on the hood of his car. I was nervous to ask the guy to move (I'm a petite woman and I wasn't sure what the guy's reaction would be). The hotel across the street had plenty of open spots, but you can't park there, and the minimal street parking was taken. We circled for nearly half an hour, then I went back in the office and told him this is ridiculous, it's after 11pm and we are exhausted and need a place to park. So I finally went out myself and asked the drunk/high guy to move his car, which he did, and then we were finally able to park. Not impressed with the service here at all.

Only complaint is parking. Coming in late, we had to wait for someone to leave to park. Not close to our room either. Not sure how you could remedy this. Maybe assigned parking for each room according to guest count?

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we checked in staff (Ken) greeted us friendly and gave professional service. The breakfast was delicious and the eating area is kept very clean. I enjoyed breakfast so much I left my backpack in the eating area. When I returned to retrieve it, another awesome staff member (Juan) was safely holding it and returned it to me with all my valuables still in place. Housekeeping worked hard to make sure the room remained fully stocked and immaculately clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice relaxing getaway!

This is a very excellent and comfortable place for a short stay. We are from out of town and needed a room where it was extremely clean and quiet. The assistant manager was so friendly and went out of his way to ensure everything was in perfect order. Thanks! Will come again.

We stay at this hotel when attending the Miramar air show as it is the closest hotel. The management has changed since our last visit and so has the lobby decor. The lobby and breakfast area are updated and nicely decorated. The staff is super helpful. I only stayed one night this time but I can definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice clean hotel with a good breakfast. Close to Marine Air Base (2 miles). Stayed night before Air Show and room was nice, clean and quiet. The breakfast was also good. Check-in was quick and front desk associates were friendly and informative.

Had a very good and relaxing 3 night stay. The staff were very helpful and responsive to our requests. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and linen and towels were clean and fresh. They have an awesome breakfast with great variety of choices. Located very close to freeway, and restaurants..IHop, Carl's Jr., and a chinese restaurant across the street. Again, very nice and friendly staff..from the desk clerks, the room cleaners and the kitchen staff. Well managed property. Planning to be back here often when we visit my grandson.

Was just a spur of the moment trip. Perfect location. Was very clean room, AC was great. Restaurants located nearby. Only 20 minutes to downtown San Diego. Would recommend BW for anyone looking for a convenient place to stay. I would stay here again for sure.

Comfortable beds and linens. Close to Freeway. I like the pillows and don't understand why someone would write a review that they were bad. Breakfast was good especially the eggs and fresh waffles. The property is close to the freeway in walking distance from Carl's Jr.

This was a great hotel. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is a full breakfast with waffles, eggs, yogurt, sausage, cereal, etc. There are a couple of restaurants you can walk to and it's immediately off the freeway which made it easy for us to go to the various places of interest. The fridge even had a tiny freezer where we could freeze about 5 water bottles to place in our cooler before we headed out to the beach. There were plugs on both sides of the bed so you could plug in a CPAP machine on either side.

Dirty, floor in even, floor shook when you or a family member walked across the room. Drawers would shake open. Charged at least twice of a normal room. A/C didn't work well in one of the room. Beds were terrible. I was embarrassed that a had to make my family stay there due to no other room available at another hot

Hotel is shop worn and really outdated. Dingy. Non-smoking room reeked of smoke. Pillows were like couch cushions; so tall they were unusable. Not the usual, really nice bed and linens. Bed very hard, and definitely not a typical queen, much shorter. Dirty bolster pillows on bed, touching regular pillows. Ew. Towels rough. AC unit sounded like a dying animal, made sleep difficult. Breakfast not the usual, very nice BW breakfast. Eggs tasted like powdered. Coffee was delicious though. Last but not least, ROACHES IN ROOM. Reported to desk clerk. He was unfazed and unconcerned.

Upon our late arrival we were greeted and felt welcomed. The staff had reserved us a great room and offered assistance and directions to local restaurants. We had a good assortment of breakfast items to choose from and check out was a breeze. A good nights rest in a clean comfortable bed. I'll be back again. Thanks.

I've been LIVING, not just staying, at the BW Miramar since mid-May on a work assignment. The staff are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. It's not a luxury destination, but the beds are comfortable, the a/c blows cold, and it's a terrific value. ONE SUGGESTION - force the truckers that stay there to park on the street. They take up far too many parking spaces and it's not fair to guests who pay the same price and cannot park on your lot. Implement a one parking space per room policy and enforce it. That's my only complaint.

Hotel is very aged and tired looking. Furnishings badly need remodeling. Upon entry into my ground floor room 114, a mouse ran out of the bathroom and hid under the tv cabinet and refrigerator. The front desk initially said they were sold out and that there were no other rooms available. A minute later she said she had a two bed unit upstairs. It had no mice but there was no desk or chair. Hotel sorely needs updating. Looks like the early 90's

Always a pleasant stay, unfortunately it is for work and most of the time we are in the room sleeping, but we always stay with Best Western. Everyone is very helpful and courteous. Rooms are very clean and spacious, housekeeping does a wonderful job in keeping everything fresh and spotless, they are also very attentive.

Assigned a "smoking" room that literally like walking into a smoking den. Stench was heavy. - appliances in room did not work (microwave and fridge) - broken furniture - pillows reeked of body odor that we had to cover with towels - dog droppings everywhere. Sad reflection of the Best Western Hotel brand. (We'll never stay in this property again).

Room was clean and breakfast good. The parking lot is cramped-not a lot of extra spots and the ones that are there are very tight for a large vehicle. Floor felt like it was sagging--maybe due to the age of the building-some good options locally for lunch. There was a bees nest at top of stairs. they took care of it right away when notified.

We shopped for price and value and were not disappointed. It was close to downtown freeway and we stayed for 3 days. Try to avoid peak travel times and getting about was easy. Usual breakfast fare included in nightly price Would stay again.

Business trip. GM was working the desk when I arrived. Was VERY helpful. Looked up my rewards account and associated my stay with my rewards account. Gave me a choice of a number of rooms Got just where I wanted.

Parking lot was very tight, and very full at night. Mattress was a bit older will need to be replaced sooner than later. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of items available. Rooms a bit small compared to others I've stayed at, however for the price, I would stay there again.

I had a long day at work and needed a nice hotel to stay and rest. I found the place on TripAdvisor website, I called while I was driving to ask for a room for that night for my girlfriend and me. I was answered right away and 15 minutes later we were in our room. It couldn't be better. It was our first night in a Best western Hotel and we will be regular customers in the future. Thank you!

rooms were nice and clean and made up nice daily and housemaid made every effort to accomodate our needs. There was a house full of other kids for a tournament and our kids fit right in. Will more than likely be coming back next year.

No wait time during check in and check out and also good staff at the help desk. I recommend BW Plus as a good choice for the families. Also at BW Miramar Hotel there are many nearby restaurants and grocery stores

The staff was very helpful and kind to me. The breakfast was very nice. Sabastian at the front counter made sure I was well looked after when one of my tours cancelled on me, he phoned and found another way for me to tour the zoo. The ladies in the kitchen made sure I had my tea and muffin very morning and the one I slept in a little they had saved it for me so when I came out my muffin and tea was there.

This hotel was our choice for this 4-night stay because it was highly satisfying 2 years ago in our first visit to San Diego. The staff is friendly and proficient, the room was clean and comfortable, and the typical Best Western breakfast was excellent as usual. We highly recommend this property.

My wife and I were pleased to find a hotel that was pet friendly and and less than a half hour drive from most attractions that we wanted to visit. Although parking was tight and the power went out that caused no breakfast to be served, we would patronize the establishment again.

The room was ready when we arrived with everything in order. It was perfect for our needs. The staff could not have been more helpful. And the location worked for the places we were going. It was easy to get in and out of the parking lot.

Check-in was friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable and I got a good sleep. I didn't have the breakfast but it smelled good. I would definitely come back. The only thing I don't like about the property is the parking is tight and if you come late, hard to find a spot. But that's just the lot they're on.

We have now stayed at this hotel on two occasions. Both times we were quite impressed with the quality of the room, the quality of the breakfast, and the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. Were were pleasantly surprised, as this hotel is much more affordable than others in the same area. We'll be back.

Located right by Miramar Marine Air Station, this is a really nice Best Western for stopovers while traveling for business or pleasure, and a special feature is they will take a dog with advance notice ($15 surcharge). What is really special is the service - warm welcome, helpful, sincere. And breakfast has all the items you'd need to get you started. Shout out to Amy #2 at the front desk. (Guess she got that name because she is the 2nd Amy they have working there).

First of all, I just have to say that working with Amy was an absolute delight. She was there when we arrived. I had called earlier inquiring as to availability of a room if we arrived a little bit earlier than the normal check in time. She was so agreeable. We ended up getting there right at check in time, so it all worked out just fine. If only Amy had been the one to check us in we wouldn't have had any of the ensuing problems. I'd rather not go into the details or how much time it took figuring out why our room key wouldn't work the 2nd afternoon of our stay when we had time constraints and had to be somewhere - just make sure you receive "all" the paperwork when you're signing in. The person who signed us in didn't have us fill out a page where you initial different things and it created a hassle for us on the second day of our stay. Enough said. The rooms are very clean and adequate. Good bedding, comfortable mattresses and pillows. There were quite a few guests there who filled up the parking lot with a variety of work trucks, cabs of semis, etc. The best thing is that they are very quiet - hit the road early so they need a good night's sleep. I wished I could have told them all thank you. They were so quiet leaving the next morning, too. You would never know so many people had been there, except for the parking lot was full. There were a few military planes flying over before 11:00 p.m., but that wasn't a big deal. We were expecting that since we were in Miramar. We just kept our room fan on all night and that served as a good enough white noise machine. The refrigerator motor was a bit of a nuisance. This is a "pet friendly" place and I have severe allergies to cats and dogs. But I didn't think to say that we needed a room that was not "pet friendly" when we checked in. More and more places these days are "pet friendly" so I'll have to be more careful when booking rooms and checking in. We stayed on the first floor. Maybe that's where the "pet friendly" rooms are located. Lesson learned. Just have to add a nice note about the maids who work there - such a pleasant group of people! Lots of smiles and kind words. That was a plus!

This hotel couldn't be any more average. Room was cleanish. Breakfast was ok. Located next to a Carl's JR is a plus. Rate was a little more than what I like but what can you expect for a last minute no reservation stay.

Normally, I love Best Western because of the service, economic price comparison and the ease of staying at one. This trip was an exceptional mess. The room did not ever smell as if anyone cleaned up. It had a dry, stale, stuffy odor. The couch had stains on both cushions (if they had turned it over, we'd never have known). The bed looked flat and firm but it was LUMPY. It felt like one of those cheap mattresses that had been refurbished. I neglected to clean up coffee I spilled on the nightstand - the next day, the bed was made but the coffee stain was still there. At 8:30 am, a maid knocked on the door asking if we'd like our room cleaned now or later? We were there for 3 nights (find someone who had checked out). Ugh! The manager knew about it and said he had mediated the problem though he never contacted us at all.

Location is hard to get to but the hotel is nice. They do have hot breakfast. Could start on time I was there for a week and it didn't open till after 6am at least twice That's a problem when you have to be at work by 6:30.

I stay at the Best Western Hotels if possible when I travel because I really like them. We checked in and as usual we were very pleased with the room. It was quiet, clean, well maintained and very comfortable. The employees were very nice. We were treated kindly and professionally. The breakfasts are great! What more can we ask for? We were completely satisfied.

Convenient location for a night in San Diego and ample parking. The bed was really hard and uncomfortable and the bathroom door did not close/latch. Not sure how this was missed before. Not sure if I would stay at this location again.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and professional. I really liked my room. It was very clean and the decor was nice as well. They provided breakfast every morning. I really didn't take advantage of the breakfast that was included because I have a personal illness that I'm dealing with that only allows me to eat specific foods. However, I did eat the fruit and boiled eggs once while I was there. I can say this much, the eating area was nice and clean. Another thing I liked about this hotel is that it was in walking distance to other restaurants in the area if you wanted to try something different. I was in San Diego on business and used Lyft the entire time I was there. I could usually get a Lyft within 5 minutes after I requested a driver. This hotel was located about 20 minutes from the airport which wasn't bad. So yes, if you're looking for a hotel to stay at for a reasonable price I highly recommend Best Western San Diego/Miramar Hotel.

We booked a room at BW Miramar because of it's excellent location. The hotel is conveniently located and well appointed. The staff is efficient and professional. The rooms are large and clean. Wifi works fast.

We stayed here while visiting relatives in Scripps Ranch. The accommodations were perfect: the large room included a couch and coffee table, king-size bed, and all the surface space we like to spread out our stuff. The closet even had lots of hangars, which many other places I've stayed tend to skimp on. The room was clean and well maintained. While we only took advantage of the free breakfast one of the 3 days we were there, it was more than adequate for our needs. We'd definitely stay here again when visiting Scripps Ranch, which was just a short Lyft ride away.

Located in close proximity to busy roads and the traffic noise was constant and loud. Put on the air conditioning to drown out the noise, but the unit rattled. Woken up early in the morning by the housekeeping cart carelessly being dragged up and down the corridor, with the cart banging up against the railings and making an absolute racket. Breakfast was good, including hot food, pastries, a waffle maker, cereal and more.

My Husband and I stayed at Best Western Miramar to celebrate our Honeymoon (traveling through the states) it was the best hotel around! Sebastian was the most helpful and sweetest person! He checked us in and out and was always so approachable and friendly! The room was beautiful and the amenities were easy to use and readily available, the elevators were very clean and smelled nice not like some places! Hot breakfast was amazing every morning! Best Stay so far!

Best Western property is centrally located. Staff is friendly and always make my stay pleasant. I have been staying here for 9 years. The rate is fair the staff is great and I always feel comfortable there.

This was a great place to stay. It was clean, a great location close to everything fun, rooms were clean and so was the grounds. Couple of things I didn't like was the parking you have to pay extra to park on the property and people sneak in and drop off advertising cards for food that you may or may not get if you order also it's not coming from legit businesses it's coming from some house you know nothing about and you might not even get your food so don't order from these places. I complained to the staff about it and the response wasn't what I expected. They can't seem to do anything about it they said. Other then those things it's a really nice place to stay.

The first room assigned have burned out light bulb and broken hair dryer, so we were switched to another room since it was pass 9 pm when we checked in. The second room had a strange urine smell and burned out porch light (so it was a dark entry) but we were too tired to complain or switch again. Stayed for 2 nights, will not recommend this place.

I stayed at the Best Western San Diego/Miramar Hotel for one night while in town for a quick trip. I picked it because of its proximity to a family event. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well-maintained. The wireless internet connection worked very well. The surroundings were quiet and the bed comfortable. The breakfast which was included in the price was standard and good. I have nothing but positive comments about my stay here.

I have stayed two different times because my son goes to UCSD and it just keeps getting better. It also has an area you can bring your pets. This is awesome deal for all and a nice place to sleep. I am middle class I dont need the red carpet and the red carpet price I need a nice place to stay while i visit my son and this is it. Thanks to a wonderful staff, price and location

Went there for a night hoping to get good value hotel after previous great experience at the Santa Barbara area with BW. The location is about 20-25 min from San Diego Downtown. the price included breakfast. I did not enjoy my stay for the following reasons: 1. Location is not nice; traveling with small kids - did not feel comfortable having them there. 2. Bed quality - very poor; hard and not comfortable; was waking up every 1-2 hours from the pain. Suffered from back pain the next day. 3. Noise: lots of noise from the approximate room and pool area around 12am; people we hearing loud music and smoking weed in their room. Approached reception - they were responsive and after 15 min it stopped. 4. At the morning I was mentioning these issues but got a very cold response from the staff members. Other stuff: 1. Room was OK - a bit of dense oder but not severe. Has a separate sink from the shower in the room; personally I don't like it. 2. Breakfast - OK; not the best but not too low.

We really enjoyed staying at this place, we were close to all things, the beach, the shops, and the restaurants, and easy access. I would recommend this place, and we've stayed more than once. It's a very nice place.

Stayed at the motel on business and I was pleasantly surprised, it was easy to get to, clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the fact that I could park nearby my door and did not need to go through a lobby. I really enjoyed the breakfast and since I was there for the week, I enjoyed the fact that they changed up the menu every couple of days.

We stayed for 3 nights. The room was clean. Although the carpet could use a shampooing. The property was nice and clean. All the staff, from the front desk, to the cleaning staff, and ladies serving breakfast, were polite and pleasant. I did not come across one staff member that looked like they were upset. Everyone seems to enjoy working at this hotel. There is no road noise, no airplane noise, but the walls and windows are thin. So you can hear guests at all hours. All in all, I will definitely look onto booking this hotel in the future.

I unexpectedly had to stay in the San Diego area. The VA hospital staff suggested staying with you. I called and got a room close to the elevator. The room was large, well maitained and very clean. The staff were are very nice and accommodating.

When looking for a place to stay for the air show, you couldn't make a better choice. It's not only a good choice for the air show however, the staff are friendly, rooms are clean and quiet, parking is free, they have a pool, they'll make you breakfast and getting around San Diego from there is easy.

Stay here every year for the Miramar Air Show and coudn't be happier. Comfortable Rooms, Nice Pool Area, free breakfast! It is also convenient to of course Miramar as well as many local restaurants and shopping establishments.

We stay here once a year when we go to the Miramar Air Show. It's the closest hotel to the base and a great spot to preview the Blue Angels practice the day before the show. The rooms are clean, updated, and comfortable. The cost is high for the quality of the hotel but that may be due to the high demand on this weekend. The parking lot is cramped and crowded. The pool is cold as it's always in the shade. The staff is friendly and capable. No complaints.

Went well from the start to the end. Great location. Great staff. Was welcomed in the morning at check out by Great management. The stay met all of my expectations. Parking was in front of my unit for easy access.

My stay was great at the hotel , staff is very informative and friendly. The size of the room and bathroom was pretty decent . They have smoking rooms which was great for me as a smoker . I used uber to get around . there are some nice restaurants near by.Overall a very nice stay.

My stay at this Best Western was really great. All the staff at this Best Western was very friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean when i checked in and the maid cleaned the room everyday. The breakfest was very hot and very good also. I really enjoyed my stay there and the price was reasonable also. Would stay here again at this Best Western Hotel.

We spent 12 nights at this BW. The first night, the A/C unit was like a Mack truck idling inside the room. We asked the front desk next morning for a fix or a room change. Within an hour or so, maintenance was checking out the problem and told us they would replace the unit. When we returned that night, it appeared to be a new unit and was blissfully quiet (well, as quiet as those things get). Nice job! Breakfast was crowded a couple of times but mostly OK. Selection was good - the usual waffle makers, cereal, fruit, pastries, bread, muffins, yogurt, small hot buffet - varied parings of scrambled eggs, omelets, sausage, potatoes (and inexplicably once, baked beans). Decent quality and efficiently maintained. The room was clean and quiet (some traffic noise in the morning). There were elephants upstairs but we never heard their voices. Biggest negative would be parking. There is simply not enough of it and it is packed tighter than an Olympian's spandex. Still, we always found a spot SOMEWHERE, even in the spots by the front entrance marked "15 minute parking only". The front desk acknowledged that was OK. Overall, this was a very decent value for the price and I would have no qualms about returning.

Housekeepers need retraining in proper health conscience cleaning. Using the same towel to clean the toilet then the sink counter means possible health problems. Microwave not cleaned and questioned if floor vacuumed. Very poor. Only surface cleaning. It would seem no pride in their work.

Love this place, I always try and stay here when working in the San Diego area. Near freeways, easy access to everything. Rooms are clean, housekeepers do a great job. All staff is friendly and they have a good variety of breakfast items.

We stayed here for a weekend to visit my son who's in the Navy. Upon arrival, everything appeared to be neat & clean. However, the ceiling had stains & the carpet was very dirty. I walked around barefoot the first night & my feet became dark & dirty. Didn't walk around barefoot after that. We weren't looking for anything special. The stay there got the job done. Staff was friendly & stay was calm & quiet. Convenient that parking was free & right next to hotel (as many hotels around the area didn't have parking or charge for parking). Breakfast was decent. Would recommend to others as an average stay if you just want the basic lodging.

We chose this place because it was close enough to San Diego during Comicon without being insanely expensive. We were not intending to attend Comicon but went to SD to drop our daughter off at the airport and make a little vacation weekend out of it. It is in an area where there are multiple breweries for which my husband was happy. The room was adequate. The breakfast was fair. The swimming pool was inviting.

The outside is not impressive, but the rooms have been recently renovated and are immaculate from bed to bath. Wifi is good. Certain rooms are noisy due to heavy traffic outside. Management provides sympathetic attention to guest needs.

We stayed at the BW because is was the closest to San Diego without being too pricy. Room was good and the King bed allowed for a couch area. PTAC needs servicing and the walls were thin. Breakfast was solid. Overall a great room for the price and well located for all of San Diego.

The hotel does show some wear, it is in the north part of the city and quite some distance from the ocean/beach and other major San Diego attractions. It is clean and comfortable and, the price while high is competitive for the area. We were there on extended family business and remained in the Mira Mesa area 90% of the time for which it was ideally suited. The hotel is surprisingly quite despite being close to the Marine Corps Air Station. I can remember only hearing a plane once while there. I thank the staff for their good work. This will be come our choice hotel for family visit to San Diego.

Recently stayed for 3 nights on our first leg of our 3 week road trip. Pleasant area on the Marina loved the views out the front, nice walks along waters edge lovely little pier as well. Room was large, comfortable, clean, and had everything you needed. Didn't use any of the amenities i.e. pools etc but looked nice.

It looked really good in the pictures but in reality renovations are needed. It is relatively old and worn. Many rooms allow smoking, so be prepared to get one of those. The bath tub was a complete disaster, we did not want to shower in that. I felt the need to rub the sink with disinfectant wipes before using. While the mattress is comfortable enough, the sheets don't fully cover them and the blanket and its covers is gross. I will avoid Best Western for the future. You just never know what you get because they have no standard. There are other hotel chains that have a 100% satisfaction guarantee that don't even allow these things.

The Hotel staff was very accommodating. I was there for a business meeting the next day and I accidentally booked a smoking room, but wanted a non-smoking room. Manu, was a big help and got me into a non-smoking room for the night at the same rate. The room was clean, and everything worked as it was intended. I was also pleased with the quality of the complementary breakfast. I will definitely stay with them again.

Another quick and easy trip to San Diego found me at the BW Miramar. Check-in and check-out was efficient, as always. Everyone is personable and professional. Internet worked just fine, room was comfortable. It's not the Ritz, it isn't meant to be, just a good place to get a decent night's sleep that's very centrally located. My only

Stayed three nights for a wedding in SD. Fast and friendly check in. Breakfast was great! The staff works very hard to make sure we all get what we want!! Thank you! Clean rooms with the house keeping staff making sure again, our needs are met! Thanks to them!! Pool, pool deck and tables and spa are VERY, VERY CLEAN! Our electrical outlet in bath area for hair dryer went out. Called the front desk and Miguel showed up SO fast to replace the entire outlet without cause. He knew exactly what needed to be done and proceeded to repair it so efficiently!! Thank you Miguel... we were getting ready for our Granddaughter's wedding and I sure needed that outlet!! He saved me!! Lots of different places to eat within a short drive and close to the 15 freeway!!

They offer a good rate and the our room was clean and nice. But there is a reason for everything. This hotel is quite isolated. Not much choices to eat in the area unless to drive somewhere except there is an ihop across the street. The hotel is also surrounded by large streets on every side (except one) which could make it noisy for light sleepers. Night front desk clerk was rude. I had problems trying to log into their computer to get my boarding pass. I asked for help and she just said "use the other computer." I tried and that didn't work either, so I went back to the front desk but she disappeared. Her attitude was "don't bother me" so I didn't.

The hotel was in a good location and easy to get to. The hotel staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean and updated. My only concern was that the sheets were so wrinkled that Im not sure that they had been changed. Perhaps it is a new trend, but I prefer clean, crisp sheets with no wrinkles. We decided we were so tired that we didnt care and the bed was very comfortable. There was a simple breakfast bar provided which we did not take advantage off.

Stayed for 3 nights - the rooms were comfortably appointed and clean. It's nothing fancy but perfectly suitable for easy access to highways and to Miramar MCAS. There is noise - but you have to remember it is next door to an Air Station! I would like to call out Emma in houskeeping - she was terrific!

It was a decent Best Western. But had a rough night sleeping as a result of neighbor noise, then late night (4am) pool party. Rooms are okay, beds comfy enough, property nice, breakfast was just okay.

We had an awesome stay for 3 nights. Everybody was helpful and accommodating. We arrived late at night and we were welcomed with quick checked in and and helped us with our luggages. Clean facilities and got a big beautiful room on the first floor. Even got a bonus Sofa Bed. Great buffet breakfast! It was an awesome stay and will definitely go back again. Real nice friendly staff.

This hotel is old but well maintend. My room was clean and well stocked. This room has sofa bed, business desk and chair, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, iron/board and large screen tv. WiFi was very good and breakfast is free.

I was happy with the room it was clean, the service provided was good the breakfast was really good the internet was really good the people were polite and professional. The location was perfect. I just did not like they don't have some one to pick me up at the airport I was scammed by the taxi driver. I feel it should be offered in a package to the a room.

This hotel is now at the top of my list. This was the first time that I tried to find a place that accommodates smokers. What was amazing was that the room didn't smell smoky at all. Overall, the entire place is incredibly clean and the staff go out of their way. For one, my room attendant was extremely attentive to my needs. It is impressive that the staff begin their rounds early, and it is easy to schedule room clean-up at a desirable time. Sonia was the best in making sure everything was clean and in tip-top shape. Reception is also extremely easy -- no one sits around while you are waiting at the front desk -- they do everything to ensure that their guests are taken care of. Overall, this is probably the best value in San Diego.

The hotel is clean and well maintained. When we had to extend our stay for a few days due to work, Evelyn at the front desk was very helpful. There are good restaurants nearby, and there is convenient access to the city and surrounding areas. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Awesome stay all around the prices were greats compared to other similar hotels in area for quick last second booking for 3 nights. They allowed our small dogs to stay in a available suite for pets for a great nightly rate. Would highly recommend for simple clean room and good rates. I had accidently left my brand new 3 series apple iwatch in the room and I believed to had left it in the pull out couch bed and my family had forgot to look and checked out of the room already without the watch or looking. I thought it was gone for good. But good thing Sulema was servicing our room and was able to find the watch tucked away it was in sofa bed hidden. She is a life saver and very awesome I appreciate her returning my watch. It was a gift from somebody special to me and I use at work daily. Thanks million Sulema... (PS she also had our room nice and clean and restocked room supplies as needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Customer service was a 10 out of 10) Thank you.

Clean and comfortable, these rooms are 1/2 the price of the hotel across the street. While checking out my wife noticed her license missing, after a thorough search.....nothing. Within 2 hours we were called by the owner of the hotel Mr. Patel to inform us the license had been found and he was mailing it back to us. Thank you.

This is not a high end hotel. But it's clean and well maintained. The bathroom could do with a facelift. But I would stay here again if my budget required it. Location is okay, but it's not really walking distance to anything other than a few fast food restaurants and gas stations.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and quiet. They have a small buffet for breakfast in the morning near the lobby. I highly recommend this place for a stop over. Super great if you have kids or grandkids! Happy travels!

Compared to other hotels we checked in the area, this hotel is well priced. The wi-fi and TV worked great and they offer a free breakfast. Easy access to the 15, too. Nothing stands out as an OMG, but as a generic inexpensive hotel, you get your money's worth.

I had to take care of business in Chula Vista and San Diego (2 seperate locations). I really like the location. I am only 30 minutes from all 3 locations. Plus when I need to drive back to San Francisco I'm on the freeway back out of town in less than a minute. I have stayed here several times over the last 3 Years and everything is always consistent, clean and accommodating.

I was booked this hotel for a 1 night stay for work. The lobby was actually very nice and well decorated/spacious. The front desk associate was also very friendly and helpful. I was placed in a room in the very back which was a little sketchy for me since I was staying by myself. I walked in and the room WREAKED of old lingering cigarettes. I was immediately ready to walk out. Idk if this hotel has any type of smoking policy but I've honestly stayed in motels that smelled better than this room. The room in general was pretty dingy and the red carpet was gross. I didn't even want to touch the light switches especially in the bathroom. In all honesty I didn't even end up staying the night. I really had no expectations that any other room they could offer me would be any better so I left. Thankfully my family that lives in the San Diego area came home early from a trip out of town so I was able to stay with them instead. If you have an option stay somewhere else unless you're okay with suffocating from the disgusting smell of old dirty cigarettes then feel free to take advantage of the free breakfast in the morning. 2 stars for the nice lobby and friendly front desk associate.

Bright spacious lobby, great guest services, clean, comfy room and hot breakfast what more could you want . . . I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I go to San Diego a lot for business and usually dread the hotels and the rudeness of the staff at the hotels in hotel circle or downtown. This time I opted for staying at this hotel closer to Miramar based on another parents suggestion. The staff were a delight during my 10 days there. They were friendly and more than helpful. It was nice to be treated so well by the General Manager and his other staff. Thanks to them I had an enjoyable visit with my son and was able to catch up on my reading by the pool.

Room was good, Beds were comfy and worth every penny. Free parking and free internet was a plus. decor a little dated and AC was a little dated. Need better coffee. undrinkable. Hotel is convenient since its close to the freeway but not to close

Bright friendly Lobby, wonderful guest room spacious and comfortable. Good internet WiFi, decent breakfast. Staff were all like friendly. Some extra touches like offering soy milk in addition to regular milk for breakfast.

Great bunch of people work here, everyone greeted me with smiles, the room was large, clean, and I felt like I could walk around in bare feet! breakfast was adequate especially since its free, I took advantage of it and was pleasantly happy. Staff obviously not familiar with their own best western rewards programs. Was unaware that members have recognition programs and rewards program points allow for certain accommodations. Was not impressed with the staff

Conveniently located near MCAS Miramar, within convenient walking distance to Well Cleaned & Maintained, Personable staff dedicated to providing a pleasant stay. Nice breakfast selection well stocked for a quick getaway in the morning.

The customer service was acceptable. The hotel itself is older, and overdue for a re-model. The refrigerator was very loud, the carpet was marginally clean, and there was a smell of urine around the bed area. I usually subscribe to the "you get what you pay for" adage, when it comes to hotels. I took a chance with this one($90 per). I got what I paid for...

I would spend a little more to get a nicer room and better food somewhere else. For the money saved it really was not worth it. The employees were not overly friendly. The location is pretty central to everything you want to do and easily accessible from the freeway. The rooms smelled musty and were not overly clean.

I was not verily impressed by the Best Western. However, I stayed at the Hilton a few nights before and that was like a resort for about 10 dollars more. I mean I will say the lobby is really nice, but I felt like I was in a hospital bedroom when I got to the room. Maybe because it was a handicap room? Either way, I guess overall I'd say worth a night but I wouldn't do it again for 10 bucks more there is a Hilton 9 miles north that feels like a resort.

I stay here when I have business in the San Diego area. This last stay I left behind in my room a much needed medical item. Manu and his crew went out of their way to send it to me the next day so I would have it in time. I always have a terrific stay here and the staff is always helpful, courteous and friendly.

The room was clean and simply furnished with good use of the available space. Customer service was good. Whatever complaint we had was taken care of. For e.g, when the Internet slowed down, they offered to change the room for us.

The check-in experience was very well handled and efficient. Diane was great answering my questions. She also gave us a restaurant guide to assist us during our stay. The room was clean and we loved having the refrigerator and microwave for use during the stay. check out was efficient and fast.

Attended the Breeders' Cup in Del Mar and stayed here due to location. Due to a later flight, we had to check in near 11pm. The front desk personnel was very friendly and attentive. He gave us all of the information necessary about the hotel & accommodations. Our room was spacious, even had a couch. TV was new and had a number of channels. Most of all it was CLEAN. Also had a complimentary breakfast which included eggs, sausage, cereal(s), waffles and other items. Also had different beverages and plenty of seating. Food wasn't fantastic by any means, but what can you expect? Close to main roads, Interstates and all major locations (downtown, airport, Del Mar track, Torrey Pines, etc)

Hotel was very clean and staff very The hotel was very clean, and all of the staff were friendly. The breakfast was typical, but served hot with a nice selection of items. Location is good. Can get to any ppart of San Diego within 15 minutes or so.

If you have a lot of luggage, expect to be placed all the way on the third floor. Also, if you check in late, expect to be placed in the worst room they have, which faces the freeway. And lastly, if you mention you will be sleeping in, expect them to schedule AC repair for that day and a dozen large men will stomp around on your ceiling waking you up.

Every stay at Best Western is nice. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. Nice towels. The decor is updated and modern. Parking was right outside of the room door and the exterior of the building was kept clean.

CAL FIRE needed a place to house a large strike team and Best Western was amazing!! They took really good care of our Firefighters for 14 days. They made them feel welcome and even chatted with them in the evenings. Our Firefighters told us their rooms where always clean and they always had fresh towels and has many pillows as they needed. We went daily to pay the bill and the staff was always friendly and helpful. Juan, Diane and Mr. Patel always greets us with a smile and processed our bills quickly and efficiently. We will absolutely use this location again.

This is a comfortable hotel located approximately half way between San Diego and Escondido, just outside the gates of Mira Mar MCAS. The rooms are decent sized, the beds are comfortable and the staff is friendly and accommodating.

Staff, especially the Manager there is very kind. We stayed at this hotel for the second time due to my son having eye surgery again. We didn't know what time we were going to leave the hospital. The Manager made every effort to ensure we were able to get a late check out and was very patient with us. When we finally checked out at 2pm, he remembered to ask how my son was doing.

The staff is amazing. So friendly and helpful, every single person working here is doing a great job. The breakfast is pretty good. Freshly made waffles you get to make yourself. So yummy. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. Id give a 5 but the bathrooms are a little small and older. There has been plenty of free parking and we had 2 vehicles. Great rates cant beat them. I work from home and was able to print several items for work from their business center. Worked out perfectly. Also did a load of laundry, again smooth sailing. The fire department staying here didnt hurt the scenery :) God bless em! Id recommend.

Overall staff seem to be on robot mode with no consideration for others. The breakfast at this one compared to most best westerns was meek. The property, pool, and rooms were clean and the general area seem to be safe

We stayed for 6 nights to attend events in the area and visit friends. The hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful and fast to respond to any requests. We would stay here again if we needed to be in the area.

You get everything you need for an overnight stay and complimentary breakfast. If you need anything extra you can request it. I purchased the 2 beds room and the room was well prepared. We didn't need to request anything else.

This place is in a shady area of town where you park at your own risk of being broken into. Men like to loiter in the parking lot which makes it uncomfortable as a single woman traveling on a business trip. This located is outdated and of poor quality. The breakfast are is depressing with poor lighting and rotting fruit in the bowls and no options for vegetarians or vegans. The non-smoking room I booked had a strong odor of cigarettes. The bed was very uncomfortable. The TV quality was pretty poor as it is just a monitor with a duplicated signal so If you're thinking of using your laptop and an HDMI cord to just watch Netflix from your computer, forget it because the remotes don't allow you press input. Please do not stay here. Ever.

Attending a conference in San Diego downtown I opted to stay here, 20 miles north to avoid $50 per day parking, etc. I was very satisfied with my choice. This is a well located economy facility. Its not luxury but it is a good value.

Beds were uncomfortable. The room smelled musty, other than that the room seemed clean. It was perfectly located between all our destinations too. Hot pool was great after a long day of walking 7 plus miles.

Stayed at this hotel for one night . It was clean & comfortable & the price was right. I thought the planes from Miramar airbase would be noisy but never heard plane noise while there. It was quiet & comfortable & fairly priced. Breakfast was included.

Nice hotel close to VA hospital in La Jolla. It's nice that they have a refrigerator and microwave in every room. I also like that breakfast is free and you don't have to pay for parking. All of your expensive hotels charge for everything including water!!

Food was terrible. The room was noisy due to the air conditioning and the hair dryer nor in room coffee maker worked due to a faulty wall plug. It took two days to get it fixed. The parking lot was under construction and guests had to use on street parking.

There are many choices of Best Western hotels in San Diego. We chose this one because of the price, and we were not disappointed. Breakfast was good, although they occasionally ran out of items during the breakfast hours and were scurrying around to keep everything going. The room was good and the bed was comfortable. I especially liked the very roomy counter space around the bathroom sink. That isn't always the case. Good choice for a good price!

The rooms were damp and smelled like smoke and mold. The manager did not offer to move us or allow us to cancel our reservation. We stayed only one night and then had to pay for the second night even though we did not stay there. Very stubborn and uncaring general manager. Circular reasoning with an over focus on the almighty dollar. Super disappointed. Cleaning and desk staff are kind and doing the best they can. Manu the manager is the problem.

front desk staff was great. rooms were clean and comfortable. they actually came out to let me know where i could park as the lot was full when i got back in the evening. in a more industrial/commercial area, but easy access.

BW hotel is a good hotel to stay in San Diego. It is very close to the high way, not even 2 minutes to hit the high way. Gas is just opposite to hotel and all types of food options with in 1 mile. There are lots of Indian restaurant so no issue of food for veggie s. recommended for stay.

It's so hot in San Diego lately and the room air con is so noise and we could not sleep and I had to turn off the air on after midnight and our room bathroom light was broke and they replace new one quickly but still the lights on and off constantly . When we arrived in the room smell old carpet .

The room was spacious but the property is a bit older so the room had the "older apartment" smell. It wasn't a "bad" smell it just didn't fresh. Aside of that the room was clean and spacious I was actually surprised at the size of the room I was expecting something smaller for the price. It even had a couch. The shower was great almost instant hot water and plenty of pressure very clean bathroom also and no waiting for the water to get hot, that was great. The bed was comfortable and the linens were very clean and crisp. I actually slept really well. The free breakfast was actually a big surprise, I enjoyed it and the breakfast area had plenty of seating, coffee and the news was on. That was also a surprise and there was plenty of options for an included breakfast. I thought I would have to choose from toast or muffin, but they had eggs, sausage a waffle station where you make your own fresh waffles, toppings plus a variety of muffins and breads, juices etc. much more than I expected again. The only two downfalls to this hotel for me were the old property and the room not having a fresher scent and again the room didn't smell it's just that it reminded me of that apartment smell but my no means was it smelly or offensive in fact it brought back memories of my old apartment and I actually kind or liked it but was just expecting that fresh hotel room smell I guess. Overall my stay was better than expected and the staff at the front was courteous and friendly. Based on my experience I would stay at this chain again. I think the free breakfast is the real bonus here.

Over priced compared to where we stayed the night before. We stayed at Hotel Karlan-san Diego double tree by Hilton for $7 more on a Saturday. We stayed here on Sunday. First room had a blown outlet, with no power to night stand wall. Manager moved us into another room. (Thank you) Then, second room smelled like stail air. Took awhile to vent out. Shower drain was clogged, and had to wash down some small spiders. Staff was very nice.

nothing special, over charged, maybe because of the summer, thats why everything is over charged even in the middle of no where like this hotel, Thanks God, I was just passing, so one night was ok, but I won't recommend this to be your summer destination, I saw nothing around this hotel than highway, maybe because I wasn't looking.

We stayed for two nights. The room was well apportioned and comfortable. I couldn't hear any noise from The neighbors. This place is popular with truckers and other professional drivers, but is not rowdy or run down. Breakfast in the morning was first-rate. The staff was fantastic, going the extra mile to see to our needs. My hat's off to them.

Generally a "trucker" hotel (lots of trucks parked on the streets and the lot), but very amenable to business travel and close to the busy La Jolla area. Staff always helpful and accommodating. I've been coming here for 3 years on my business trips and will continue to do so.

We stayed overnight after a business trip. Hotel was clean, well stocked. Free breakfast was average, but room was small. They couldn't accommodate a late check out so we paid the extra night so we could keep room until 6 pm and paid for this at checkin. Around 5:45 Pm they called and told us we were occupying the room and didn't pay for it. After three calls they called and said they figured it out without an apology.

We needed a place to stay for one night, and they had a vacancy. It is not necessarily a destination motel, but nice enough to leave your bags and explore the area as well as being a good value. The room was old style but clean. Bathroom was barely large enough to turn around (but also clean). Beds were comfortable. I believe there was an in-room fridge but I did not need one. We were on 2nd floor and elevator worked fine. Outside corridors. Complimentary breakfast served in the morning was satisfying enough and got me through the morning. It was perfect for what I was looking for, and I forgot to mention all the staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

My husband, my daughter, and myself stayed at this hotel. We came to a conference very close by to Landmark Forum for three days. For the most part, we were gone all day. However, it was rewording to get to our room after a long day. Our room was super clean, and provided all that was necessary to give us the comfort and rest we needed after a long, long day.The area doesn't have many hotels to choose from. However, from the three hotels Best Western was by far the best option. They matched the price, and there is no fee for canceling or for parking. It also included breakfast, and the room had a small refrigerator and a microwave plus a coffeemaker.

We made a quick trip to San Diego as my granddaughter was leaving for boot camp the following day. Manu was wonderful in helping me with my reservations over the phone. When I met him later in the day he was equally gracious. Thank you Manu! We only spent one night there so I don't have a lot of tips. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and roomy with a fridge and microwave. We had adjoining rooms so it made it even more comfortable. We didn't have time to use the pool but it is close to rooms and others seemed to be enjoying it. This hotel is within minutes of MEPS so was excellent choice for us. The room rate was very affordable. The complimentary breakfast was very good. They offer waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, and an assortment of hot and cold cereals. Manu and the staff treated us very well. I would stay here again.

Stayed here overnight when we went to Aquatica, about 30 min drive from there. The room was clean. They have mini fridge, iron and hair dryer. They serve complimentary breakfast which is a plus- make your own waffle, omelette, bread, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, coffee and juice. The only thing that night was it too noisy up until 11pm near their pool area. The a/c is kinda loud, but working.

Best Western is very accommodating and i was happy with the stay during my visit. The front desk staff was very helpful. The only issue I had was that they didnt change the sheets when i asked the last night of my stay but i was leaving the next day so it didnt matter at that point.

Me and my family stayed in this hotel for 5nights it's not fancy hotel but it's great customer service better than some 5 stars hotel I was in before , I have to mention one of the great ladies at the front desk she did great job all the time her name is Savannah and the breakfast lady Valencia she is so sweet and she was running around helping every body all the time .

My sister, my niece and I stayed four nights. We were quite impressed with everything including the clean rooms, friendly staff and the great breakfast. It was quiet and very comfortable! We would recommend staying here to anyone!

Happened to pick Comic Con weekend to go to San Diego. :/ First time stay at this Best Western. Staff was absolutely great. Room was clean, had everything we needed. Comfortable bed & breakfast was good. Front desk staff friendly & Helpful. Breakfast staff was friendly & kept restocking to ensure everyone got a choice of their items. Best western never disappoints me!!!

We stayed for two nights during a family road trip of California, and had two rooms. Both were clean and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The outdoor pool area, whilst small, was quiet and well maintained and car parking was not an issue - free to use too! The only considerations I would point out was that the bathrooms were very small (albeit had great showers), and if you're looking for days out in San Diego, you're about 30 minutes drive outside the main attractions / centre of San Diego - except the aircraft museum which is only a 5 minute drive away! Overall, I wouldn't choose to stay here again if I was looking to sight-see (i'd look for somewhere more down town), but if I was looking to remove myself from the hussle and bustle, it's ideal.

Found an empty condom box in one of the drawers and some of the cleaning staff were unhappy with the management not seeming to care about their employees. But overall a decent experience and a good place to stay

The hotel is about 20min north of the city of San Diego and only a 1.5 hour drive to Disney in LA. Great value, clean room and pool. Great stay without having to pay a ton of money. Staff very friendly.

This was a convenient and fairly priced place to stay in San Diego. We were 20 minutes to Sea World and downtown. Friends who stayed downtown had to pay $50 per night for parking. We never had a chance to use the courtyard pool but we appreciated the pastry, egg, sausage, cereal, and waffle breakfast options. Perfect for us that they start serving at 6am. Room was clean and everything was in working order. Beds were a bit on the firm side. WiFi didn't work with the password we were given. Our main goal was a safe clean place in San Diego with breakfast within a budget and this Best Western checked those boxes. It is no longer a Best Western Plus. You can see the old sign on the ground in the parking lot. I forgot to ask front desk about the change. The breakfast included with the price of the room still makes them better than other Best Western hotels in the area but there must be other requirements to keep the Plus title.

Staying at Miramar was convenient for attending a wedding/reception and visiting family. Very nice and clean. Daughters enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was great. Parking lot was a little tight for our rental minivan. Easy access to highways.

The family was in San Diego for a week, attending a junior golf tournament, held in Santee. This Best Western is close freeways (N/S) and thoroughfare (E/W). Arrived at 1 AM, but, called ahead and spoke to Diana. She efficiently left a message for Juan, to set up our late arrival. Top floor/away from the freeway, as I requested. Very quiet and A/C and refrigerator were sufficient. The room was clean and the cleaning staff on the 3rd floor was good and didn't disturb us. Breakfast is good, with hot and continental style. If you need more, IHOP is across the street or there are plenty of ethnic eateries in Mira Mesa (2 miles). If you like Chinese food and great service, make sure you eat at Chun's, across the street (Holiday Inn). Kids loved it so much (potsticker-order ahead. 20 minutes), we ate there five times! There are two gas stations across the street to gas up. If you need to practics prior to your golf rounds, Stadium Golf is top notch (all grass range, short game and putting areas)! Nicely stocked pro shop, too. Hit under the lights, in the cool air. I15 South and take the Aero Road cutoff. Try Ponce's in Kensington, also off I15 South, take the Adams cutoff. Great service and food. Expect a line. I definitely recommend Best Western-Miramar, for your travel needs!

First time staying at the Miramar location. Staff was friendly, room and property was clean, breakfast was excellent. They have a small store in the lobby for snacks and drinks. Only complaint was the limited overnight parking so arrive early.

We recently stayed three nights in a 2 queen bedroom. Rooms are spacious and clean. The pool is very busy during summer months so suggest not relying on this. The staff were very accommodating and helpful with information about local events. The hotel computer and printer are free and great for booking events and tours. There is no laundromat here. Local coin operated is approx. 3 miles away. The location is close to local shopping centre (10min walk) and the water (2min) which offers lots of attractions like the USS Midway and Seaport. Recommend unloading luggage at check in as there is no access to rooms from parking area. Enjoyable stay.

We visited our son at MCAS Miramar before his deployment. We found this Cheap hotel a mile down the road from the base. Because of it's price and proximity to the base we booked it. We were somewhat concerned about the quality we would be getting for the price. To our amazement, This place was clean, staff was very friendly, and breakfast was awesome!!! Would stay again for sure and recommend to anyone staying in Miramar! Great job!

I shopped hard before making my reservation. Most comparable motels were priced over $200.00. The BW wasn't the cheapest, but it was a very good value. Everything was neat and clean. The room smelled fresh and clean. The staff was courteous and helpful.

Great place to stay and it is conveniently located. Will stay again. Staff and front desk very friendly and helpful. Parking can be difficult but definitely not a deal breaker. Will stay again if in area.

It was great place not far from the things we wanted to do in San Diego with in a short drive. Free Parking, free breakfast, and free internet for a great price. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was cleaned nicely and cleaned daily.

Everythings pretty good here. Breakfast a little sparse, but besides that, everything is okay, Its a bit expensive also. The staff is very good and friendly, and the rooms are clean and well maintained.

This hotel was in a convenient location. The breakfast was a big hit with everyone in our family. The woman staffing the breakfast room was exceptionally nice. The room was adequately spacious for us 4. It was a quiet location as well. Would definitely stay there again.

The first choice for a hotel, if you're staying in San Diego, should be Best Western, Miramar. The hotel boasts an incredible staff under the stewardship of Manu. Juan at the front desk wears a perfect mantle of professionalism and courtesy. He always goes the extra mile to help out in any way he can. He is also the very picture of efficiency. Crystal and Diane are two other gems in the BW chain. With unmatched efficiency and genuine caring, they make the hotel feel like home to its many patrons. Staff is friendly. Hotel is clean. I didn't have any problems during my stay. The breakfast is continental and okay. Bed was comfy. I will stay there again if in the area. Close to the highway and a gas station. 20 min to the beach.

We stayed here for 5 nights while attending a wedding and doing some sightseeing. The location was convenient to San Diego, Escondido, and Ramona. The room was comfortable and quiet (away from freeway noise). Hot breakfast was good and well-stocked. The thermostat on the A/C in our room did not work properly and front desk staff moved us to another room.

Had A Comfy bed with great wifi - was very clean- easy access to freeway and restaurants, nice amenities in the rooms -has a very friendly helpful staff! The elevator was a plus too, plenty of parking

Bad enough to report to Better Business Bureau! Reported to corporate Best Western. Out of thousands of miles of logged traveling - this was the worst experience I have ever had with management anywhere, any chain, 1 star to 5 start properties. This General Manager is either the worst communicator - ever- or he has honesty issues. There's not much room for other interpretations. He is fast to blame BW for what he did. THEN days after, he has someone (I think one of his employees) write a letter of apology for him (!) for just the "watered down orange juice." Wow - reallly????! General Manager had three opportunities to tell me about the deposit would be charged after all - and kept changing his story. He had three versions of just why I got a surprise $30 charge on my card! He did remove it the next morning after I complained a lot! Still - he bumped up my points required AFTER I was in room, checked in! 1) At reservation - agreed to waive deposit as I am media. 2) Check in - when he again confirmed he would waive deposit. 3) AFTER HE INSISTED HE NEEDED MORE POINTS FOR MY STAY - AFTER I WAS ALREADY CHECKED IN !!!! Best Western Customer Service added 4,000 points so that they could deal with his insisting to bump up the points AFTER check in. Overall - seven (7) hours of troubleshooting this horrific management nightmare - lost sleep, and noticed other ways he cuts corners on the property. Breakfast - waffle batter is watery. Orange juice is watered down. Coffee is Nescafe - but watered down. Breakfast goes to 9am and hot food ran out before 8:30am and was not replaced. Parking lot tandem spaces block the disability ramp up to the walk. Big trucks park there. Area is not that great. Room was okay. Just a VERY STRESSFUL stay and Best Western would not comp the room when the franchise refused to provide any refund for seven hours of troubleshooting this greedy nightmare! ... The only positive - Diana at the front desk is nice and tries to help. Place has a pool and guest laundry.

Staff is what made the experience. Great team, very kind and sincerely interested in my stay. Breakfast is a plus, nicely remodeled bathrooms in the room. Very clean and well maintained. Exceeded expectations.

I have to travel to San Diego a couple of times a month for medical reasons. This was my 3rd time staying with them. They are very accommodating here and it is conveniently located right off of I-15 for easy access. The staff is very helpful.

Nice hotel with friendly staff in good area of town. They allow payment via credit card ahead of arrival for quick check in. Good restaurants are not too far away. Early breakfast time. Really like the extra snacks in the lobby which can be billed to the room.

Juan at the front desk was especially helpful. I asked him for help several times, and he was very professional. The breakfast they include in the mornings isn't bad either. Not a bad place to stay for work.

Our room overlooked the pool on the main floor. There was one ice machine on the opposite side which was a little inconvenient. We tried getting into the pool various days and there was always something, whether it was bird poop or dead insects getting in the pool seemed like it would get you sick rather than relaxed. Our room was cleaned up very nicely on a daily basis. The hotel is remotely close to all the San Diego attractions.

Had work at Miramar Station, which was 5 minutes away. GM Mr. Manu Patel, I appreciate the excellent customer service I have received from everyone I spoke to and have met. Mr Manu, Diane & Amy were all extremely professional & extremely helpful with all my requests. I'm sure those that I didn't meet and assisted our workers for Smith Electric Service were just as delightful too. When I come back to the San Diego area I will most definitely visit your best western, whether it is for work or pleasure. we stayed in april & May-both were the same service

We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was pleasant and friendly however there were many issues with the property that could not be overlooked. The room itself was well furnished complete with a seating area along with the sleeping area. The parking was difficult around the hotel with some parking being diagonal, straight in and parallel also the traffic flow should have been one way but it wasn't well marked as such. I had a room on the west side of the property which was away from the Interstate but overlooked a major access to the highway so had constant road noise. Also breakfast area only had seating for 20-25 people and hotel has over 100 rooms. Luckily we are early risers so we got breakfast before the crowd arrived. Also the elevator smelled of smoke each time that we used it.

I frequently make trips to the San Diego area on business. Most often times a day or two at the most. They are always very friendly and accommodating. They know me by first name and treat me well. I never have any issues when I call for reservations or when I show up. Feels like home.

The hotel was very quiet. The breakfast was very good, except on the first day. I do not eat meat and was very upset when I saw ham in the scrambled eggs. Valencia, the staff person for the hotel in charge of the breakfast saw how upset I was and somehow found me some eggs with no meat. She stayed calm and was very helpful. She calmed me down and the rest of the morning asked me several times if everything was OK. I really appreciated her and from that point on there was no meat in the eggs for the rest of my 4 day stay. I plan to stay at this hotel every time I am in the area.

The room was large and included an extremely comfortable king size bed, a couch that sat 3 a desk amd small dresser that held a nice size flat screen t.v. The room could use some updates but overall it was clean and comfortable and well worth the price. The breakfast in the morning is so good! Crystal who workes at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating and she definitely knows how to make a good hot breakfast. You had the choice of eggs or waffles with fresh fruits and sausage or pastries. Definitely a plus to our stay.

The location was great. Had a final dinner with friends at Chuns Restaurant across the street. Staff was friendly and courteous. Would recommend this Hotel anytime for anyone in the area looking for a clean quite place to rest for the night or longer.

I got to spend 7 weeks in hotels thanks to a neighbor who wouldn't fix a plumbing leak. I spent most of it at the Best Western off Miramar Road. This hotel had friendly, helpful manager and staff and was quieter than the first place I stayed. Beds were still a little hard for me, but again better than the other, pricier place.

OK motel type room. The interior of the room is nice, but the noise overnight and in the morning was loud and woke me up. The parking lot was partially flooded in the morning. For the price paid, the hotel does not seem worth it. Maybe from about $40-$50 less.

Our hotel bathroom ceiling had a leak in the roof, the bathroom floor was flooded. I had to use our clean towels we needed to bathe with to clean it up! The maid woke us up early in the morning from cleaning the room next to us, by knocking the vacuum against the wall of our hotel room! Said we couldn't change our bedding until the second or third day staying with the hotel!

Like to think that's Western for a wonderful stay taking me at the last minute when I ride the staff excellent great hospitality great communication friendly and warm and I appreciate every bit of it and two into my room was beautiful excellent I would recommend to anyone and Tim sister came and stayed with me as well it was her and her husband enjoyed it and I think and tremendously

I found this hotel to be among the most affordable in its category and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The rooms are clean and up to date. Sink area was very large and had coffee machine, hair dryer and safe. Hot breakfast included, just eggs, sausage and waffles from scratch along with continental breakfast. They have snacks and drinks for sale at front desk. When I first arrived there was a mix up on the room as they gave me a smoking room. Not sure if it was my fault or Hotels.com but they were able to switch it with no problem. Would definitely stay here again. Overall great experience.

I recently stayed here for 6 days while in the area for work. I had a room that faced West, towards the Marine Base.... Over all my stay was great! The room seemed updated compared to other Best Westerns I have stayed at in San Diego. The room was clean, the bed was comfy w/lots of pillows. It had a microwave, a small fridge, and a small in room safe. It had a flat screen tv with adequate channels & REAL good wifi... I only tried the breakfast 1 day and it was OK, (did have some sort of scrambled egg dish, with sausage, pastries, etc...) Even though the hotel seems packed, i had no issues with any noise From the rooms next door...but, if you have a room on the West side, there is a very busy & noisy road very close. There is not a lot of food choices walking distance, but for military, the commissary & exchange is a few minutes drive away.

Great place for a quick visit. Friendly staff. Wish there had been an option for early check in, as we arrived much sooner than planned. No fault of the staff though. Overall a very pleasant stay. Would stay there again.

The room was clean and comfortable and they don't use down or feathers in the rooms. The staff was very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to insure that we were happy with our stay. It is an older property that needs a little updating but everything was well maintained and clean. It is conveniently located off Interstate 15 and Miramar Road so is easy off - easy on. We felt safe and welcome and would stay there again.

I'm kind of a regular at this hotel. The front desk staff is really great. I see Crystal most of the time. Every time though she makes you feel welcome and is glad to see you. She also prepares the continental breakfast too. Crystal goes the extra mile for us drivers that come in early with having the breakfast set-up earlier than expected! The rooms are consistently clean and new coffee makers makes the stay a whole lot better. I'm a day sleeper when I stay, noise level is average. Nighttime is real quiet.

The hotel was very clean, but some issues with parking. It seemed any evenings and you couldn't park near your room. Also, some lack of control on parking that was not guests and some security concerns. Overall a good stay for the price though.

We had a great time at Best Western San Diego/ Miramar hotel. We booked our trip in order to spend 3 days at Legoland, and decided to stay 2 nights in San Diego. The hotel is clean and quiet, I was impressed by friendly and accommodating staff. The highlight of our visit was at breakfast, when we had chance to meet Valencia, she was amazing! She really went out of the way to assist us and every other guest. Great place!

I've stayed at many Best Westerns with great staff, breakfast, rates, comfortable rooms, but Miramar location is an exception. The beds were springy worn not comfortable to sleep on, rooms poorly insulated I can hear the guest up stairs walking, outdated decor and very dark carpeting. Eggs were overly mixed that they were mooshy

We were having work done on our house and had to be out for two night. Best Western was able to accommodate us. The rooms were clean and the staff was able to work with us on checking out later than normal.

Had great service from Juan at the front desk and Valencia in the breakfast area. They both went above and beyond to make our days enjoyable. Had some problems with the in room safe not opening but they were able to helps us out and get us on our way on time. Valencia gave us breakfast on our first day even though we were messed up by the time change that had made us late.

Well maintained hotel good for family stay. The rooms were clean and rates were good. The safety was one good point out here. Overall the staff was really nice and helpful. They provided things going out of their way to make it an enjoyable stay.

I made my reservations and told them I want conjoining rooms so when I got there they didn't have any so I couldn't let my kids stay in a room by themselves but they charge me anyway for a room I did not use

Very nice clean older hotel with a pool and hot tub. Complimentary breakfast. Worked great for base camp as we traveled around the area. Marine base is nearby and downtown is 20 minutes away where you can see the USS Midway and Gaslamp District.

It's been a while since I was here and this property has been upgraded! Very nice! Nice rooms, improved breakfast area, pool and jacuzzi with lots of seats. Rooms are clean and spacious with fridge and microwave. There is a gas station and Carl's junior next to hotel.

The hotel is located very close to the 15 Freeway so we had no trouble finding it. The room was of fair size but the bathroom and shower was very small. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. Checking in was easy and the hotel personnel were very friendly. They served a pretty good breakfast in the morning. They did have cable TV but they did not carry the Dodger channel and they were in the playoffs so we went elsewhere to watch the game that evening. They have no newspaper if you enjoy a morning paper. I would stay there again but for no more than one day. Also had a nice pool.

Came down to see the granddaughter play in a volleyball tournament. The hotel is within a reasonable distance from the site of Alliant U campus. The hotel was clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the towels were the best (softest and dried better) than any other we have had this year. Almost like home. The internet connected easily, but the desk provided in our room was small and the only light hung above in the ceiling. The chair provided was not an office type chair, unable to adjust the height. This made internet use a bit more difficult. Breakfast was normal for a Best Western. We chose to go to the IHop just across the street instead for more variety. And that was an experience in itself - a positive one. Overall it was a great price for San Diego. The room was more than adequate for our purposes. And our room was quiet and dark enough. Hate the taxes in San Diego for visitors. Seems to be a growing trend, soak the tourists.

Doesn't look as good on outside as inside since it is just a bit old fashioned style but the room was large, new looking and clean and modern. Great rate too. Breakfast was a bit lame as most hotel breakfasts are but they do have eggs and sausage and waffles.

Our first ever trip to San Diego was wonderful and having a comfortable bed in a well-equipped room with a considerate staff, tasty breakfast and a perfect location right by the freeway helped make it so. Can't wait to come back!

I stayed here for three nights while attending the Miramar Air Show. The hotel is conveniently located to the northeast of the base and very close. It was easy and convenient to drive south on Kearny Villa each morning to the preferred parking entrance for the air show. The hotel is somewhat dated and is much like a motel, with exterior passageways and doors opening to the exterior. It does have an elevator, and a pool. The staff at reception were pleasant and efficient. A breakfast buffet is available, with eggs, waffles, little sausages, juices, etc. The breakfast was filling, but that's all I can say about it. The rooms were spacious, but very basic. The blankets on the bed was the thinnest I have come across in over 30 years of travelling. The rooms were relatively quite and were functional.

Every amenity hoped for in a hotel of this caliber. Good rates. Desk personnel couldn't be more helpful, especially Crystal & Diane. Standard room (1 king) very clean, large, excellent climate control, plenty of electrical outlets, bed comfortable (except the top sheet - do they use starch in the laundry?), good lighting (and I like it bright), extra mirrors including a full-length, sofa & a large desk, microwave & refrigerator, free continental breakfast included waffles, eggs, & sausage as well as pastries, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit. Everything worked in the room. Enough parking. Conveniently located with easy access. Our keys wouldn't work when we first arrived. Diane responded immediately and compassionately, and finally switched us to an identical room when it seemed that the problem was with the lock on the first door. We were on 2nd of 3 floors - elevator fast & quiet. No complaints whatsoever!

Lovely and very helpful staff. They would receive a 5 star rating! The hotel itself a 2 star, therefor our three star overall. The great part about the room, the curved shower curtain allowing for amore spacious feeling while showering in a narrow space. Watch out for the surprisingly low set toilet. We are tall people, but not giants and what a surprise it was to land at a lower altitude than expected on the commode. Lumpy pillows, lumpy and very soft bed (though we acknowledge that everyone has their preferred firmness in both pillows and mattresses...beware if you prefer a firm mattress) crackly not so comfy sheets, very noisy and quirky window unit air conditioner. For the price paid we did expect a better breakfast bar. Dried out pastries and scrambled eggs that seemed made from the dehydrated powder eggs available. The little sausages were quite tasty, the coffee...well, we were not at Peet's, after all. Thank heavens for Raisin Bran & Frosted Flakes! And thank heavens we had purchased elite seating at the Miramar Air Show with free breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks. :)

I was pleased with the appearance and amenities at this hotel. The room was nice and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. It was a good location, close to UCSD. I preferred this hotel over the BW at Golden Triangle.

towels were nice, sheets made a crackling sound (heard they are in the process of changing them to cotton/polyester). clean room. door automatically closes. hope they have a stopper in the back to hold the door open. this would make it very easy to load/unload or carry in/out luggage, etc. pillows were too high.

nice clean room. nice towels too. not those thick towels. pillows were too high. good sheets but they made a crackling sound, wonder why ? door closes fast and hard. have to watchout for those fingers. overall nice hotel

Tired, really tired. Traveling with our dear four-legged older Boston Terrier, who's also exceptionally well-mannered. BUT, not all hotels take dogs. This BW did and the room was on the bottom floor and two doors down from where we parked. The room smelled CLEAN---not of cleaning materials.The bed was very comfortable. We had plenty of hot water for showers. I highly recommend this Best Western!

This was a serious disappointment. Restricted search to BW in the area for a quick overnight from Phoenix. Everything feels run down. The carpet is super thin and buckling -- the doors and elevator are kinda crappy And that's OK but ... the stuff I came to expect from BW were suddenly not there ... Decent mattress --- um, no --- stuck on a played-out pillow top AC is a total clunky window unit --- noisy all night Narrow entrance - semi-trucks parked everywhere (loud) Avoid

This place was just fine for a quick San Diego Visit. Rooms are older but clean enough. Breakfast was fine. Pool was fine. Nothing wrong at all with this place and we would use it again for sure with our kids if we need to head back to SD any time soon.

I traveled to attend a conference to the near by University and had to stay in this listed location. Despite my sickness with my allergy, I had a good night sleep. The room is very clean. Russell at Front desk is friendly and helpful.Sadly, there is this mean manager by the name Manu, walks in to say that he do not have a fridge to keep my little to go box. He was mean and rude. His negative attitude ruin my day to the say the least. He checked on every staff in " do my way" attitude. He has no customer service skills and unfriendly!!! Do not stay in this location at all!!!

We stayed here last night and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel across the street was literally $80 more per night & I highly doubt that would have been worth the price. The staff was very friendly. I checked the best western website & searched for specials & found a 48 special that saved me an extra $10 so take the time to search the site & sign up for the rewards program. The free breakfast was sufficient & what you would expect, Danish, waffles, cereal, Apple, banana Etc. I would stay again.

Great place to stay. Central to many locations with a wide variety of eateries. Would stay again. The rooms were well cared for. The maids kept the rooms very clean and neat the grounds were also neat and clean.

We booked several rooms for the busy July 4th weekend. The staff was great and provided all support we needed with a smiling face. Excellent location and comfortable rooms. I would highly recommend this hotel to every user family or business.

When we checked in at about 4:30pm on August 8,2016 Juan was on duty. He was a great assistance in helping me with directions to places we needed to go. This was our first trip to San Diego and we had an early doctor's appointment the next day. The directions he gave us took us directly there.

The front desk day employee Juan was extremely helpful with any questions and provided excellent service. Rooms were clean and a bit old for the price but OK. The breakfast make your own waffles was a nice touch but they sometimes mixed ham into the scrambled eggs which some may not like very much. Make sure you slam your door a bit when you leave as the door will not close all the way on its own. Was much quieter than other Best Westerns i have stayed.

It's expensive to stay in San Diego...especially in July. We went down to see a Giants game at Petco Park and to go to the various beaches and tourist attractions around the area but finding a central location to stay at that wasn't crazy expensive was impossible. The best deal that we found was this hotel up near the Miramar Naval Air Station. If you stay here and want to spend time in central San Diego, allow yourself plenty of time to get there...especially on a weekday. The Giants game was on a Friday night and the traffic was horrendous. Be prepared to sit in traffic a while. Check in was a little odd. A gentlemen at the front desk checked us in and he seemed to either be the manager or owner of the property. He was a nice enough guy but as I was standing there he received at least 7 phone calls in a row. I was tired from a long drive and just wanted to relax and was surprised that he put the various phone calls before somebody who was standing right in front of him. It seemed a little rude. He was apologetic and proceeded with my check in. He mentioned that I went through an online third party to make the reservation which was true. He then mentioned that they had underpaid him. He said it was no problem and not my fault but it was obvious he was not happy with that situation. Once again, he was very nice but this seemed a bit misplaced. The room was clean and comfortable. The free wifi worked well as did the a/c. Free breakfast was fine with waffles and continental breakfast items. I found it odd that the two milk pitchers were rigged so that only a trickle of milk would come out of them. This was intentionally done since both had the thumb actuators removed. I read this as an attempt by the management to save money and if that's the case it's a bit tacky. Plus, the person who maintained the food was very slow to replenish the milk pitchers which were very small to begin with. There seems to be a bit of a homeless problem in the area. I saw a guy who obviously was not a guest walk up to an outdoor electrical outlet and charge his phone. On another occasion I witnessed a guy ride up on a ratty bike, jump the locked gate around the pool, and take a bath in the hot tub! We had an unobstructed view of him washing his hair, socks, and "junk" right there out in the open. He didn't strip down completely naked fortunately but he did have a severe case of plumbers butt. I did call the office on him. It sounded like this was a common problem. Maybe they need to invest in some security. There are also an inordinate amount of signs on the property that state that the hotel is not responsible for items lost from guest's burglarized cars. We didn't have an issue but I wonder if this sort of crime is common there. Next door to the hotel is an auto repair place. I witnessed one of the mechanics pick up and park a car in the hotel's parking lot. The hotel lot is pretty small so hopefully this is a not a common occurrence. Despite all this, overall we had a pleasant stay. However, I'm not sure I would recommend this place. In a pinch, maybe. I'm going to give it 3 stars based on the odd things that happened during my stay.

The hotel was great for the price, very clean and great staff. good location north of San Diego, small pool but very clean with sun and shade available. Breakfast was good and if you go before 7 am it is like eating at home alone. Good food located a short drive away with movie theater as well. Many choices and a good mid way point out of the direct San Diego area. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Nice average hotel that's about 20 minutes from downtown.Some friends and I stayed here during Comic Con and it was easy access onto the highways. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we called down for extra towels they were up within 10 minutes. If you don't mind a little drive to downtown San Diego, this is for you. The room could use a makeover but was fairly clean. There is a swimming pool and whirlpool on the premises. Decent selections for their complimentary breakfast. I would definitely stay here again if needed to.

I am a frequent guest, and they care enough to remember I have stayed with them in the past. Hotel is clean inside and out, staff is friendly and the rooms are very comfortable. Very convenient location me when I am in San Diego for Business. Thank you!

This Best Western had great customer service from the moment we checked in Juan greeted us with a smile, gave us a nice welcome. Roberta in the kitchen, was always refilling the food, helping with the waffle maker, and wiping off the tables for us. Housekeeping staff was very through in cleaning what needed to be cleaned, linens and trash removable from the room. Finally, this location sits at Miramar Rd and I-15 interstate. RT.163 & I-805 are 5 minutes. 20 minutes tops from airport and downtown San Diego.

My wife and I had to travel to San Diego for a major surgery for her at Thornton Medical Complex in La Jolla, CA. Not knowing if we would be there for a week or a month, and neither of us ever traveling there before we were unfamiliar with the area at all. Being budget conscious, we initially stayed at an extended stay hotel in the Fashion valley area. After a week of testing at the hospital we learned my wife would need a surgery and be in the hospital for possibly a month. The hotel we were in was adequate at best and not really a good commute to the hospital, plus my in-laws and daughter would be coming for the surgery so we wanted a hotel closer to the LaJolla area. I saw some good reviews for the Best Western Miramar and called to check on room availability for our family needs. Diane, the manager took my call and invited us to come and check out the property. Upon arrival I was very impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel common areas and that carried over into the rooms also. Diane was more than helpful, worked with us on a very competitive rate for our rooms, and took the time to walk us around the property and showed us several rooms. Plus this hotel was only a short 15-20 minute freewayless drive to the hospital. It has an outdoor pool, hot tub area that is very adequate. It is adjacent to a freeway, I-15 and is easy to access your way around the San Diego area. It also includes a daily hot breakfast that varies a little from day to day, which means a lot if you are having an extended stay. Roberta was the employee who took care of the breakfast area, and she was always on top of things keeping items full and asking if anything was needed. I was there from April 16 thru May 10 2016 and had to extend my stay several times due to my wife's hospital discharge date changing, and I never had one problem with any of the changes. I will honestly say I was treated like I was family while I was there, with Diane, Roberta, and the other staff members inquiring how my wife's recovery was going,and they made sure to see her after she was discharged and before we checked out. This hotel is close to many restaurants and businesses. I would definitely stay there again. It was the cleanest hotel top to bottom I have ever stayed at, and I have stayed in 5 star hotels many times and they have nothing on this hotel. Factor in the staff and you will not be disappointed. If you are looking for suites and valet parking, than don't bother, but if you want a clean,updated,top notch staff in a safe area than this is the spot. The hotel is just off Interstate 15 and Miramar Road. It's within a few blocks of banks, restaurants and shopping centers, and it's convenient to MCAS Miramar. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable and quiet.

We were in town for a family reunion. The location worked for us and the property was clean and well priced for the summer season. We were very impressed with DIane at the front desk especially as she helped us when we had an air conditioning problem by switching rooms for us. The breakfast room staff were very efficient and friendly! Mr. Patel was friendly and helpful when we were checking out! We will stay here when we come into this part of San Diego in the future!

We could walk to the front gate. Very convenient location. Clean, functional rooms complete with refrigerator and microwave. Great Chinese restaurant across the street. Good value. Russell at the front desk was very courteous and professional.

The room was on the second floor it was clean and quite. I came and went w/o any problems getting around town. I loved getting up in the am and had a very nice breakfast to choose from and then your desk staff, a young man named Conner helped me to find a starbucks and a place to walk in the early am in the cayons. The staff is friendly I would stay at this location again. DId not have a chance to swim in the pool.

The hotel is very typical for a Best Western Plus Hotel. It is about 15-20 mins away from the San Diego Zoo, the rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast is good, there is even a pool and Jacuzzi to relax in if that is your thing. There is plenty of parking and there are elevators to get to the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms. It is close to the freeway but with the A/C on I didn't hear much road noise, if it bothers you just ask for a room not facing the freeway but that may get the pool side which after 9 when it closes should be relatively quiet. The staff was really nice and friendly. I would stay there again, only thing is that there is a Carl's Jr and a Mobil gas station within walking distance... but nothing else too close for convenience purchases other than in the lobby at hotel costs.

Diane(front desk attendee), was so helpful and kind to me. I was just getting off work and needed a place to rest. She blessed me with a wonderful and quiet room. She was caring as to even remind me to eat before I rested; because she seen how exhausted I was. I wanted to also say "thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" to Isabel( room attendant). I have never seen a hotel room so emaculently clean!! Isabel you have some blessed hands. God Bless you and Diane for making my stay so peaceful!!

Stayed 5/19-5/25. Would stay again. Staff very helpful and courteous. Cleaning staff were very nice. The room was great. Nice choices of food for breakfast. Elevator worked great as we stayed on 3rd floor.

Very dirty, Old furniture. Nothing near by. I would not recommend this property! It was very aged. The price did not reflect the good standards at other BW locations. This property was not worth $109 bucks.

The staff is excellent, the accommodations are excellent. The location is near Miramar USMC Air Station. Interstate 15 is nearby which connects to San Diego's interior including Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. Nice place.

My husband left a $600 divers watch on the side table in the hotel. We were doubtful that we'd ever see it again but went there anyway to see if they had turned it in. We are eternally grateful for Yasmin's honesty. This watch was a beautiful gift from my husband's late father, so it means a lot to us that she turned it in. Thank you Yasmin!

This hotel was great for our group. We were centrally located for the activities we would be participating in. The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful with our needs. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Had a wonderful stay here at the best western Miramar, all staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a lot of suggestions and tips from juan at the front desk on what to do with the kids. We felt very welcomed here at the hotel will definitely be planning a stay here again!.

The hotel is a great place to stay. The amenities the room provides for the guest are great. The front desk, are always very helpful. Especially, when there are bilingual people like Juan. He is a very extraordinary person. Always willing to make your stay as pleasing and relaxing. He is very professional and makes guest come back every time and stay here.

The staff here is amazing! They are helpful and friendly without being pushy. The rooms are clean and stylish. The location is great if you are visiting the MCAS, and is relatively close (within 20m) to La Jolla Beach. Just a great place overall.

My last stay at this hotel was pretty eventful. Upon the arrival my pet reservation was not on file and the night concierge was more than helpful in getting that taken care of. Entered the room and found the toilet to be clogged with multiple bars of soap. Not sure if this was a malicious act of a previous renter or a careless maid. Easily fixed with some assistance from the night concierge in locating a plunger and some elbow grease from me. The furniture is beginning to show its age, the swivel chair would not remain elevated, and the refrigerator/microwave cabinet was broken and needs replacing. Overall the stay was fine and still cheaper than other hotels in the same area.

Our company books rooms for our techs that travel all across the US. This hotel was paid through Expedia, however still charged the guests personal credit card. When we called the hotel to discuss this error we were met with a stubborn, rude attitude not willing to make the situation right. Shame on you Manager Manu and shame on you Best Western. Last time I checked this is stealing. So beware when staying here and keep a close on on your credit card charges.

It's location was convenient for all of our destinations. The staff was very pleasant and helpful during our stay. The housekeeping staff did a great job on the room and graciously assisted me when we had any questions. Roberta was congenial and very efficient in looking after a very busy breakfast area. Diane and Juan at the front desk answered all of our queries and were very personable.

We have stayed at this location 3 years in a row now. It has always been a great experience for us! From the time that we checked in, until the time we checked out the service from the staff was amazing!!! The two women that cleaned our room were great! Their names are Gloria and Elsa. Roberta was awesome with breakfast in the morning and very nice to talk with! Our overall experience here was great! We will definitely be coming back next year! Thank you all!!

Very conveniently located when staying in san diego.we stayed for 9 nights in comfortable and clean large room well equipped with fridge and microwave. Reception staff helpful. Good breakfast included. Tea and coffee freely available 24 hours a day in the breakfast room. Good Chinese restaurant 2 mins walk away and other restaurants a couple of miles away. Excellent bathroom facilities including bath as well as shower.

Good motel if you need to stay in the MCAS Miramar area. Only 20 minutes to MCRD San Diego. Breakfast was good, as well as great WiFi access. Excellent location & easy access right off the I-15. Number of great restaurants within 10 minutes of motel

Clean, personable staff, food nearby, liquor store nearby. Check-in was pleasant and painless. They provided a continental breakfast...which was fine. Centrally located near everything. All-in-all...a great stay! Thanks!!!

Having bounced around a few different places in San Diego, I was so pleasantly thrilled when I got to this Best Western. Everything is impeccably clean, obviously new, and aesthetically pleasing. Visiting someone on base, this location is absolutely perfect! The quick and easy highway access is a huge plus. My drive to the beach (La Jolla Shores) was an easy 20 minutes, helping gather information on where to eat as well as the closest shopping mall! I absolutely loved everything about this place!

I stayed at the Best Western Miramar off the 15 since it was close my daughter's house. The room was large with a king size bed and couch that made into a sleeper, clean and the service was good. The breakfast was the usual type that is provided from 6-9 am at hotels and fine for me. The rate was very good for the San Diego area since it not located outside of the main tourist area but the location adjacent to the 15 means that all the major tourist sites and beach is within 20-30 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel for someone traveling and stopping for the night or families on a budget.

Rooms are impeccably clean & have been upgraded a lot from previous stays. Hangars that don't come off are virtually unusable for some of us disabled guests but for an older BW, the lobby, breakfast and guest room were a comfortable stay. Friendly, helpful staff, too!

Overall the hotel was ok. We stayed here for two nights, it had free wifi and breakfast. The reason Im giving 4 stars is because our room smelled really bad, it smell like cigarette. When I made the reservation I asked for anon smoking room but I don't know what happened we ended up with that one. Also, its a little bit far from tourist area. Price is not too expensive.

All the staff was great...but the one who stood out was Roberta. She was very pleasant every morning and did the best to accommodate us and our soccer team. Thank you Best Western San Diego/Miramar, we will be staying with you again if in that area

The location was very close to MCAS. The hotel appears to be in need of updating. Cracked bathroom sink, furniture was worn/old. The breakfast they offered was okay. Scrambled eggs, link sausage, dry cereals, juice, coffee, small muffins and Danish.

Room was a non-smoking room and we were required to sign a waiver that we would not smoke in the room. Neither me nor my husband smoke and the curtains along with the air coming out of the room ac/heater unit reeked of cigarettes. The king mattress was not supportive to where neither me or my husband got a good nights sleep. Desk chair would not stay in position, when you set on the chair it would start sinking to a lower position by its self. Bathroom door and door handle, the door handle was ready to fall off and then the door its self was cracked where the door handle lead to the handle strike plate in the door frame

This hotel is very close to a main freeway in California and close to the military base, so we would have expected more traffic noise. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was and except for the rain, which puddled outside our room door, we were very comfortable here.

Horrible experience. We had ants all over our beds and counters. They moved us into a different room with even more ants. My daughter refused to sleep there yet it was too late to find another hotel. Stay away unless they guarantee no ants

We have stayed here several times while visiting San Diego. We have been also been greeted by friendly staff, spotless lobby, room in perfect appearance, breakfast is very extensive. We do not think of any other place to stay when visiting San Diego for business or pleasure. Always a pleasant experience staying here.

We are ALWAYS pleased with the overall experience at this location in San Diego. The minute you walk in everything show spotless. The rooms are exceptional and everything in order. The staff always friendly and helpful The breakfast has a great variety including waffles, eggs, sausage, and all the other breakfast items. This is our first choice when needing to stay in San Diego for business or pleasure Great location to everything.

We were in the area for a Medical referral. The Hotels closest to the hospital were very expensive and out of our price range. This hotel was only seven miles from the hospital and the rate was very reasonable. We had a last minute change of an additional adult guest. the staff was very accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the near future. The night clerk was very friendly and reassured us that we could easily reach the hospital time for the next days' appointment. the Breakfast hostess Roberta was very kind and let the guests know that more food was cooking as the serving area supply seemed low. The Day clerk was very courteous and even went back to the room to check for a forgotten phone charger part.

After arriving at the Hotel we noticed the bathroom light was burned out. When we left the room we contacted the front desk to have it fixed. When we returned later that day not only was the bulb not changed but the room was not serviced. Came back to no towels and ants crawling in the sink and bathroom due to the garbage from breakfast not being emptied. The top sheet on the bed felt like a disposable sheet, the pillows were small and very uncomfortable, bed was very hard. The A/C-Heater rattled like crazy and would sound like a generator when it kicked on and ran. Very disappointed in this hotel. The front desk just did not want to help, told us no one was there to fix problems and to turn on all the lights in the room so the wife could see to get ready. Not the right thing to say!!!! Best Westerns are usually great to stay at but this one slipped.

We were staying at this location for a soccer tournament and would have breakfast each morning in the lobby. Me, my wife and daughter were very pleased with all the attention Roberta gave everyone, making sure we had everything we needed, restocking all the popular food items and keeping the area very clean. She made the experience a positive one. I would suggest the hotel check on the blow dryers in the rooms for replacement as the one in our room was non-functional. Not a major issue though.

A room was ready, but for some reason we had been scheduled for a smoking room. We asked for a ADA room and we were placed on the bottom floor which seemed to be a good location. However as the night progressed, the room turned into a noise fest...Soccer tourney kids and families were a bit noisy to say the least. Wifi was very good. Ants......drippy shower.....and a microwave that could not be turned off....door had to be ajar....leaving the light on.....that wasnt so bad. The breakfast menu was good, your general buffet style (eggs, sausage). Cereals, waffles, fruit, muffins etc..... Mattresses were not the greatest, but my wife slept so I was happy. You get what u pay for.......moderately priced. They did offer to take $25 off my bill....which I declined.

We stayed for a soccer tournament in Oceanside called Surf Cup. We had to stay this far out because there were no other options but this Best Western definitely made it worth our while. They were awesome with the kids, granted us early breakfast times, let us use their community room for meetings and to bring dinner back. The hotel is very clean. They also monitor all areas using cameras which is great in terms of keeping the kids out of mischief and making parents feel safe about them moving around from room to room.

The first room we got is at the second floor. There's a very strong smell when we got in and the light beside the bed couldn't work. Most important of all, the light in the bathroom worked bad... Kinda disconnected...Then we ask to change our room. It was ok when we first got in (at least better than the first one). However, we found out that the door of the bathroom is not ok as shown in the picture. The hair dryer doesn't work. Most important of all, there's an ant coming out of the soap that I just opened!!!!!!!!! It's disgusting!!!!! And it's shown in the second picture... ( I even took a video of that ant but just don't know how to upload it...) it's not worth the money to stay here.....

the staff is welcoming and friendly ...breakfast staff very accommodating and friendly. ..room clean and all in good working condition....the big plus here is the staff...always friendly and helpful. very quick to answer a need and then fix it for you....close to the freeway with good access...

Simple without much to offer nearby but it was clean, quiet, and the staff were helpful and polite. Great for being a central location which is close to everything. The only problem in the room was a leeky toilet which affected my sleep somewhat.

Here for a wedding and family vacation. Easy access to San Diego and Temeculah, so was perfect for us. Staff is super friendly and will go above and beyond to help out with anything! My wife was heavily pregnant at the time, and the night staff allowed us to steal about 12 pillows to help her get through the night! Don't be afraid to ask for suggestions for food places near there, as everyone that was recommended to us was fantastic! If we are ever in the area again, this will be our first choice!

My husband and I love to get away once in awhile to San Diego. Our son is a new marine stationed at Miramar MCAS...This Best Western is 2 miles away from entrance to the base. I have to say on each of our 4 stays we have had all positive experiences!!!! We especially look forward to dealing with Juan ! He is very accommodating to our wants and needs !!! The price is great too!!!!!!

I had to drive down from northern CA for Sunday business. I left later on Saturday evening and I knew I would have a late check in so I called and let them know. When I arrived at 12:47 AM,Crystal(I think that was her name,I was tired) at the desk said my name as if she was expecting me??? I had called 5 hours earlier and spoke with someone else! She checked me right in and I was in my room on 2nd floor by 1:00 AM. This is my second time staying here. I like the location as it is close to the fwy's that I need to access that lead me to three different locations to where I needed to be. All areas of destinations were within 15 minutes of this Best Western, which to me is most important for what I do. I was just saying to my wife that I would stay here again with her and kids if we came in for fun. Mind you, it is not a beach resort location, but if you are in San Diego for multiple activities, I would recommend staying here. Parking has been good and I don't find myself constantly "looking out the window" to check on my vehicle. No squirrely people lurking throughout Hotel. I travel often on weekends, and it seems sometime Motels/Hotels can be party spots...not here, quiet on my last two visits. I come down to San Diego at least 3 times a year for business and will continue to stay at this Best Western in the future. FYI, They have coffee all night! Regards, Scott B.

We stayed there for 7 nights mainly because of proximity to the Miramar Airshow. The staff were friendly and helpful. The lady taking care of the breakfast room does a fantastic job of keeping it clean and organized. I must say, though, it would be nice to have a variety of jams to put on your toast - I got sick of only grape jelly all 7 mornings. The apples were inedible - hard as a rock and tasteless. California is renowned for its fresh fruit, but there was none to be found here. They have a very nice outdoor pool and hot tub, which we enjoyed for the first 4 evenings. The hot tub wasn't hot for the last 3 nights and in spite of several requests to do something about it, this issue was never resolved. No apology or explanation was given. When we checked out my wife realized that she had left a necklace in the room. We phoned the next day and fortunately a housekeeper ( "Gloria") had found it. We really appreciated her honesty and would like to extend our sincere thanks. In order to get the necklace mailed to us the hotel's manager "Manu" insisted that we pay for the return postage plus an extra $10 fee for them to take it to the post office. Two weeks later we received the necklace. Other than these issues, we found this hotel to be typical Best Western - quiet, comfortable beds, helpful staff.

This hotel has made improvements in cleanliness of the room. It was average during a previous stay in July, and has made improvements to above average. The location and price is great. Parking is onsite and entry is controlled by 2 driveways which are under review by staff.

Hotel was fine in most respects, and I stayed at the hotel last year on the same weekend for the airshow. This year, on the second day, my fiance had marks on her skin aligned in a row of two on several exposed parts, like the foot, forehead and shoulder. We were not sure what they were and ten days later the marks are still on her. This hotel has had reports of bedbugs before, and after investigating this and examining the bites, they are from bedbugs. We stayed in room 302. We are currently having to destroy some clothes that were laying on the bed and thoroughly clean others. I would be careful at this hotel, and I hope the management can do something so it doesn't affect others. It is unfortunate, as the breakfast and ammenities otherwise were fine. BT

I was in town for the Miramar Airshow. This hotel is located right next to MCAS Miramar. Base access was 5 minutes away by car and the airshow could be seen from the room! The hotel itself has friendly and helpful staff and there is enough room to park your car nearby.

This location is perfect for any business traveler coming to San Diego Miramar area. The rooms are always clean and fresh and the service staff is attentive and helpful. I have stayed here many times and it is always my first choice. Located close to many restaurants and easy on off freeway access.

The hotel was centrally located (easy access to all major routes), clean, and the staff were very nice. The room we were in was equipped with a refrigerator and microwave and there were also washing machines and dryers on site, which was extremely convenient. Breakfast every morning was very convenient. We would like to give special recognition to Marcia who was running the breakfast area every morning. She kept everything clean and stocked and she was always very pleasant to speak to. We definitely noticed when she wasn't working one morning. :)

No complaints about the place. The staff was very nice and accommodating and was able to get us into a room even though we were early for our check-in and our initial room was not ready yet. They were very understanding of our situation.

When it came time for breakfast there was a lady named Marcia that was amazing, polite and so efficient. We actually wanted to stay longer because of her. Rooms were clean, TV was nice and a great shower. WiFi was pretty weak but it still was free.
