« Very good rooms and modern setting »

If you are looking for a clean bed, good hospitality and decent neighborhood . This is your place to go and of-course the price point. Nice restaurants in the neighborhood as well as supermarkets and phone stores . So one can feel quite sorted with food and communication as well. The reception staff is sharp and helpful.

« Great place to stay »

If you want to be close to the action but not on top of it this is the place. Right on the edge of the French Quarter you can walk to everything but have a calm place to come back to. A very nice place and has a great breakfast everyday. Best deal in town!

    « An excellent option »

At the very upper edge of the French Quarter, you'll do some walking to get to the heart of things, but that's NOLA. Easy access to the Rampart streetcar. The pool and courtyard made for pleasant relaxing, though I would appreciate designated smoking areas (nothing spoils a nice quiet breakfast like somebody else's secondhand smoke, and you couldn't escape it out there). The staff were wonderful--professional, friendly, able to take care of any problems quickly and efficiently (not that we had problems). I'll keep this place in mind next time I'm in New Orleans.

« Best Western Plus French Quarter Landmark Hotel New Orleans »

Great character filled hotel on the northern edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Great location to explore the French Quarter Festival!! Everything was just minutes away on foot and felt very safe. One day we took the street car to the garden district. Breakfast was included and was good value but not amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved New Orleans!

    « New Orleans Trip »

Very nice place to stay and near a lot of attractions. The property is in a nice location and you can walk to many things including Bourbon Street. It was quiet and not a bunch of noise that would keep you awake.

    « Highly recommend »

This hotel was an excellent choice. It is on the edge of the French Quarter, very convenient, yet quiet. Just three blocks from Bourbon Street and four from Royal Street. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful. Room clean, beds comfortable, bathroom updated. Loved the New Orleans feel. Only down side: one very tiny trash can and no tissues in the room. Would definitely return there and recommend to friends.

    « Quaint!!!! »

Quaint little hotel with the cutest courtyard to relax in and enjoy cooling off in the small pool. Gave it four stars only for the size of the room which was just a little on the small side for a group of girls on girls weekend. The best part is Ty the bartender in the hotel bar, a local who gave great recommendations on the area and made ya awesome drinks your the best! Thanks for making our trip memorable.

    « Wonderful stay »

We stayed at the Best Western French Quarter Landmark while visiting New Orleans for the 2018 Jazz & Heritage Festival. While somewhat dated, it is a wonderful facility right on the outer border of the French Quarter. The staff (front desk & bar) is amazing - very friendly, accommodating, down-to-earth and helpful. We were always greeted with smiles and inquiries as to how we were enjoying our stay. While the bar staff at most New Orleans bars are not known for their friendliness (likely a product of always being busy), this not the case at the hotel. Our bartender Kay was phenomenal. This was our 2nd stay at this hotel, and while there are others closer to the

« My Weekend in NOLA »

Me and my best friend thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Best Western! It was a great kickoff to our NOLA festivities. The staff were approachable and friendly, helpful in booking events, beds comfortable, overall its own oasis. Great quality for the price and awesome location! Within walking distance from the many attractions. I cannot wait to come again, thank you for the southern hospitality!

    « Quiet and cozy »

Such a lovely hotel in the French quarter. Street cars out the front door and easy walking to anywhere in the French quarter. Staff friendly and informative. Limited parking in covered garage. Excellent breakfast and has a cute bar/lounge opened in the afternoon. Nice pool and courtyard. Immaculate. Will definitely book again.

« Fantastic value, great location »

We stayed at the Best Western French Quarter and were delighted with or stay. The room was a nice size, very clean, although very dark. The bathroom was very small with a pocket door but was well stocked with lovely soaps and shampoos and again, very clean. Breakfast was wonderful. Biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, baked goods, juice, coffee etc. All delightful. We never turned on the TV and missed out on the bar - but it looked great as well. We always felt safe and secure. Check in was fast and friendly. I would visit again anytime!!!

    « Great location »

This hotel is in a fantastic location, 2 streets from bourbon, so I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. When going up to my room I was put in the back facing the below parking and not over the garden that all the pictures show so I was a little disappointed right from the start. When walking into the room it was terribly small. The mirror and sink are not even it the bathroom and the actual bathroom just closes with a sliding closet door. The shower itself was nice. Walk in and glass doors. The beds were rock hard and the pillows were just small throw pillows. Other than the location the other part I liked was the garden and swim area. I did not swim as the pool was full of leaves and such. I had seen an employee put a self cleaner in the pool but it still didn't seem as clean as I would have thought it to be. The staff always said hello when walking past but they didn't seem very happy. Overall I don't think I would stay here again.

« Great hotel in a great location »

This is a wonderful hotel that is right outside the French Quarter. We stayed here while visiting New Orleans for the French Quarter Festival. We could easily walk to anywhere in the French Quarter we wanted to go. The hotel itself is quaint but modernized..It has a courtyard in the middle with a pool and chairs and tables that you can sit at. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. The beds are amazing, some of the most comfortable I have slept on in a hotel. They advertise a continental breakfast, but it is really a full breakfast. They offer eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, muffins, bread for toast, cereal, yogart, make your own waffles, juice, coffee and tea. Everyone there from the front desk to the maids are friendly and helpful. I can't think of anything at all negative about this hotel!

    5
    « Great place! »

This was a great place to stay: within walking distance to the French Quarter but far enough away to be quiet at night. The staff was stupendous! The pool was clean and big enough for several people to enjoy.

    « Vacation »

Really enjoyed our stay in this quaint motel. It was comfy, quiet and clean. The breakfast buffet was better than most with daily variety. The staff was most helpful and courteous. It was within walking distance from the French Quarter but far enough to avoid the noise. I would definitely stay again.

    5
    « Vacation »

From the outside, this hotel isn't the best looking. Once you enter, it is quite charming! Rooms are a little small and dark for my taste, but very clean and welcoming! My favorite thing about this hotel was the courtyard! The tables by the pool, the lights at night, the smell of the many flowers and the fountain! Very peaceful and relaxing!

    4
    « Extremely nice people »

From the time we registered to relaxing in the lounge the staff could not have been more professional, fun, and informative. Ty the bartender in the lounge is exceptional! He is funny and thoughtful, honestly an all around good guy! We had a small issue with the safe, turned out to be just bad batteries, but Brady, one of the managers, was down on the floor trying to figure what was wrong all the while engaging us in very interesting conversation. The rooms are very nice. There is a pretty courtyard with a pool. I would venture to say if you stayed here the staff will make your stay enjoyable. Although it is on the outskirts of the quarter it is well worth the walk.

    4
    « Good location »

Good location, not in the heart of the Quarter - so easy for a lyft or a taxi to pickup/drop-off and easy walk to everything. The breakfast was convenient - but being in New Orleans - we opted for brunch at several of the restaurants in the Quarter. Rooms were a good size, beds were comfortable.

    3
« Great Location, good breakfast, »

The location is really great, very close to the French Quarter and the streetcar stop. Check in took quite a while, the room was large and clean, but could do with some renovation. There was a good choice for breakfast. I tried to have a drink in the bar, but gave up after some time, because the simple question, which beer is served, could not be answered, difficult. The car park is charged with 39 dollar per day.

« Decent Hotel in the French Quarter »

My friend and I stayed here on our roadtrip for a few days back in mid-March. It is on the northern-most boundary of the French Quarter, but it is within easy walking distance to anything in the French Quarter. It is also easy to get to off I-10. We got a room with two double beds, and we were put at the back of the hotel. Our door took us out onto the walkway that faced another property behind the hotel (as if to face the direction of Bourbon St). We could see the NOLA skyline from there. It was quiet. Could the room have been bigger? Sure, but we weren't there to stay in a hotel. We were there to see the sites every day. The room was sufficient to sleep in at night. The breakfast buffet was adequate, and sometimes certain foods would change. However, if you did not get down there by 8am, some items would run out. Even the juice dispenser only dispensed apple water by about 8:30am. The wifi worked well enough every day. Sometimes I would have to reenter the password, but that was usually from having been out all day. The only issue really was the parking. It is difficult to park larger vehicles in their garage. It is best to back into the space; don't try pulling in forward. The difficulty lies in narrow spaces that are made even narrower by poles! Even more advice with the parking is to not move your vehicle once you have parked it! The parking spot is not guaranteed each day for you. Seriously, you can walk or take a streetcar or even Uber to wherever you want to go. Leave you car in the garage for your stay. That might sound counterproductive, but after the disgruntled guest I heard one night at the front desk, I knew it was best to keep the car in its spot. Long story short, the guest came back at about 9pm and quickly learned she lost her parking spot to another guest with no other spots left. She had to take her car a few blocks away to a parking garage. The other thing with that story is that I heard the hotel employee at the desk explain to the woman that the parking is not guaranteed, and that it is first-come, first-served. That very well might be, but there are a couple of issues here with that - 1. The hotel isn't exactly forthcoming about that. You tell them you have a car, they give you a permit to park it, and there is no mentioning of a "move your car and possibly forfeit." And... 2. From what I overheard, the employee behind the desk never made mention of making the situation better, whether it be free drinks from the bar, reducing the cost of the room, or even paying for the garage where the woman ultimately had to take her car. Maybe it came later on if the guest complained to the manager, but in front of another guest, it didn't sit well. But that is why this website exists - to share tips. I still recommend staying at this hotel.

« Great Value on the edge of the French Quarter »

This hotel worked out very well for our needs. My partner utilizes a motorized scooter and it was easy to navigate within the hotel and to access the french quarter. The rooms are on the small side but fine for a couple. They were well furnished and clean. The staff was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was a great value as well. About a 5-6 block walk to Jackson Square and Cafe Du Monde. Deli's and restaurants within about 2 blocks.

    2
« Best for location but a poor value »

Firstly let me say the staff here are nice as can be, friendly front desk and honest housekeeping - I actually forgot my iPad on the nightstand one morning and it was right there when I can back at night. The hotel is also great for exploring the French quarter, which is less than a 10 minute walk, and you have the street cars right outside the hotel as well as a taxi stand. My issue with this hotel, and I know you pay for location, is that it was criminally overpriced. I paid about $240 a night, in any other city this would be a $89 a night hotel. The bed is comfortable and wifi decent but the bathroom is claustrophobicly small and bereft of amenities, the closet door in my room was actually detached and leaning on the wall, and the decor is tacky and outdated as a 1970s dormitory. They also had one of the lousiest breakfast buffets I've ever experienced. I was not expecting 'breakfast at Brennans,' but the quality, freshness, variety and lack of healthy choices was simply shocking. I hater to give a 'thumbs down' to a hotel with such nice people, but unless you can get a room here for under $150 maximum, I would look at other hotels.

    « Post Mardi Gras »

We arrived in New Orleans the day after Mardi Gras to a tired messy city. The hotel is a very old hotel but has a lot of character. It is very clean and room was old but fine. About 6 blocks or so of French Quarter. We were there for two days. They offer a free breakfast which was very good. Darlene at the front desk made my stay in New Orleans pleasant and was very helpful.

    « Vacation 2018 »

Great hotel on the outskirts of the French Quarter. Our room was excellent!!! The breakfast was great, lots of options to choose from. The staff was super especially the older lady who cleaned our room everyday we were there. Def will stay here again if we ever make it back to New Orleans.

    4
    « Great location »

I loved the location of this hotel. we walked many places and if we couldn't walk, we could usually get there by streetcars. our room, 101, was really big (there were 4 of us) and right beside the pool, so getting to and from breakfast was really simple. the breakfast spread was pretty good and my gluten-free friends were able to get a filling breakfast every day (and I took advantage of making my own waffles every day). The staff (and pretty much everyone I met) are REALLY friendly! and quick to respond if you find an issue. the hotel is far enough away from burbon that you don't get the noise but it's a really short walk if you decide to visit.

    5
    « Friendly Staff »

I'll be back. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I preferred the walk in shower over the traditional tub bath combination. The courtyard pool is beautiful and a relaxing area. This was a great place to stay.

« Convenient location, good price, housekeeping needs work »

Finding a decent hotel that's not crazy expensive within walking distance of the French Quarter is no easy task - but this is one! You can walk to the midpoint of Bourbon St in less than ten minutes, and the walk is through a mix of residential becoming commercial streets. It's walkable to Jackson Square, the riverfront, the aquarium and insectarium, and the French Market. Rampart St has a not-so-safe reputation, but we had no problems (we were also never walking home later than 10pm). The front desk clerk was very helpful in giving us suggestions, an extra pillow, bandaid, whatever we needed. There is a parking lot on site which always had space available but the spaces are a bear to fit into, so plan to leave your car there as much as you can once you've managed it. The breakfast is standard Best Western, but was more than ample with plenty of variety and included hot options (scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, and one morning biscuits and gravy!). There is a decent outdoor pool with a lovely courtyard for sitting and reading. There is a full bar which never has anybody there so you can have the bartender's full attention. The rooms are on the second and third floors with a small elevator to reach them. They have outside entrances looking over apartment residences or the pool/patio courtyard. The rooms are decent, with a small table and two straight back cushioned chairs squeezed in with two beds and a tv/dresser/fridge cabinet (no microwave). However, the housekeeping staff seemed to do about 1/2 of the duties each day. The first day we got new towels and soap and dishes cleared but the beds weren't touched. The next day empty shampoo bottles and a clump of hair remained in the shower, but the beds were made - with a blanket still dragging on the floor and the coverlet merely pulled over it, and dirty dishes still on the cabinet. I called the first day and the clerk called housekeeping but they had gone for the day. Day 2 I didn't bother. :/ All things considered we would definitely book here again.

« So nice, did not want to leave »

We stayed here for 5 nights in Feb of 2018 and can't say enough nice things about the hotel and staff. Great location on the N edge of the French Quarter but not in the thick of it. The Streetcar stops right out front which is so convenient. There is a beautiful large size courtyard with a swimming pool that is kept up very nicely. The cooler weather prevented us from using the pool but we did sit out and enjoy the courtyard some. Our room was clean & comfortable. Our stay was during Mardis Gras season and we had expressed concern that we'd rather not be near a noisy elevator or traffic area and they happily put us up on the 3rd floor at the very end of the hall which was very quiet. Tracy at the front desk was so very helpful with anything we needed including booking our tours/excursions for us. Also got to know Kim the breakfast manager during our stay. She takes her responsibilities seriously. The breakfasts were some of the best we've had at any motel. Main items were changed up daily to avoid repetition which is great for longer stays. The entire staff was extremely helpful and professional at all times. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in New Orleans.

    2
    « Basic accomodations and....that's about it? »

Reasonable pricing, good walking distance to the French Quarters and fast wifi. Unfortunately, that's....about it. This location is very basic with a big negative, very small rooms. I understand, given the location and age of the property, but there are better choices you could make in a similar price range closer to Bourbon Street. Breakfast options were of a good variety, but the room was a massive letdown with less-than-average beds, would definitely choose another hotel in the area next time.

    2
« Not as good as it looks in the book »

This place needs so much work doing to it, the floor we stayed on had a safety rail, that floated around and you can see where they have tried to fix it in places, but still dangerous, the rooms are dirty, and dismal, would NOT recommend

  • 5
    « Staff is amazing »

The location is great, walking distance to most everything but far enough away from the crazy. The front desk staff was amazing, it felt like we've known them forever. Rooms are a little tight. The breakfast was delish, not a basic continental.

    4
« Ideal location for Bourbon street »

The hotel itself is very quaint and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful courtyard with pool which I imagine is lovely in the summer. The rooms were a little dated and much smaller than they appear on the photos, the rooms are very dark too and not enough lighting. The walls are quite thin and so noisy neighbours can be a problem, as we found out on our last night when a group of very enthusiastic young women on a party night were staying in the room next to us and we could hear the whole evenings conversation , laughter and raucous behaviour through until 4.30 am when they finally went quiet, i assume they fell asleep, and then again from 6.30 when I guess they woke again but as this is close to Bourbon st and the party area then its to be expected, just dont book if you want peace and quiet! The area generally was lovely, all the people we met were very friendly and Bourbon st was great, so too is the whole French quarter.

    3
    « Adequate hotel »

The door stuck and was extremely hard to open and close. The rug floor was dirty. Walking around in white socks got the bottoms of my feet dirty very quickly. Just rubbing a piece of paper on the floor picked up a lot of dirt. The pillows were very small; smaller than a standard twin pillow ... strange. The water was extremely soft. I think they use too much water softening agents. You get that soapy feeling even after all the soap had been washed off. The breakfast was adequate. Front desk was very helpful. Nice courtyard area.

    4
« Decent hotel to start our 9 state road trip. »

The staff was amazing, they were very helpful and attentive. The room was quite small but it serves its purpose. The hallways were also very narrow and when housekeeping were in the halls it was difficult to pass. The breakfast area was nice and large and the selection was alright. For the price of the hotel there were a couple of negatives. First of all it was not a very nice neighbourhood and when walking to Bourbon Street it was somewhat nerve wracking. Then it was an additional $40/night for parking at the hotel.

    5
« French Quarter Charm and Restfull »

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the past 10 years and never disappointed. A free full breakfast with 3 different build your own breakfast options along with various other options. Frequently you can even have a superb NOLA option of dirty rice made by Kim who is the manager of this area. Delicious coffee available throughout the day. Court yard is peaceful and a guest can grab a street car to various other areas of NOLA a block either way from the Hotel is located directly across from the Louis Armstrong park and Café Du Monde is a 7 minute walk from hotel plus all the French Quarter happenings. Fine dining also on same block.

    4
« Perfect location to get around the city. Nice courtyard. Extremely friendly staff and helpful. »

Nice place to stay. About 6 blocks to Bourbon Street. Staff was excellent and very helpful! A small pool Street car on Rampart connects to multiple transportation opportunities. Breakfast area was big

    4
    « Great Staff »

Stayed here on a Sunday night prior to a cruise. Quaint place not too far from the action. Front desk staff is tremendous. Very helpful on everything-just ask. Lawrentay went way beyond to make sure we were comfortable with places to go. we thank him!! Rooms are small and ours needed a deep clean-really overdue. We felt okay walking to Bourbon during the day but a little uneasy at night.

    5
    « Very Nice & Comfy »

My sister and I spent several nights here and we were very happy here. It's very close to the French Quarter - just on the edge of it, I'd say. The room we had was very comfortable - a bit small, but it was pretty, clean, quiet and very nice. The front desk was very helpful and breakfast was great. All in all a great experience and I would recommend this place to anyone. Considering what a good location it is, the rate was surprisingly reasonable which we really appreciated.

    5
    « Great Visit! »

Love the courtyard area. Best place to nap after waking up for the good continental breakfast! Rooms were clean and perfect for our stay. We were a group of friends visiting for the week. Definitely a mixed crowd there, younger people, families, older people...nice place for all. The staff was all very friendly, and always will greet you with a smile. The bartender was also very nice. We had a celebratory shot on the house for my birthday! Try the hurricane, (bartender claimed, friend confirmed, it is better than ones on Bourbon). If you like them on FB, you get half off the drinks!!! The walk to Bourbon Street is doable and safe. I'd say about 5 minutes, a couple blocks. As always, be aware of your surroundings still. The farthest place we walked to was Harrahs casino, and that was just over a mile. The hotel is located on a busy, well lit street

    3
    « Lackluster »

Based on the reviews and rating, we were a bit disappointed with this hotel. The location is good if you want to be close to the French Quarter. However, the accommodations are basic and space tight. Being that it is a landmark hotel we expected more charm and character. Breakfast was mediocre at best, with the usual choices of eggs waffle maker etc. Our room faced the main avenue and was noisy in the morning, w garbage collection around 6am. All in all, if you are traveling on a budget, this would be a decent option. Otherwise, would look into hotels that may be just a bit more money.

« first trip to New Orleans »

Perfect spot for a New Orleans visit. Walk to street car, parks, etc. Room was super clean, bed comfortable, ac/heat worked great, courtyard was so cozy and quiet. Breakfast was above average with great variety. Staff was super helpful with check in and answering all tourist questions. Downside... had to pay $39 per night to park on site.... didnt know til we arrived

    4
    « Perfect location »

We wanted a hotel that was near the action, but not in the middle of it, and this place was perfect. It is on a main street (Rampart), so it is easy to get to. It is on the north end of French Quarter, so you could easily walk to restaurants, attractions, parades, etc., but when you wanted to rest, it was very quiet. Our room had a very comfy king size bed, but this did make the room very cozy. The room was very clean, and the amenities were very nice. Breakfast was well above what you usually get in hotels like this. There was also a full bar. Parking is $40 per night, but this was clearly stated in their booking information. It was covered parking, with easy in and out and an assigned space. You might find cheaper places to park (I saw no free parking), but nothing as convenient as this. The rates were very competitive with other hotels in the area, and more reasonable than many similar ones. We would definitely stay here again, great value, friendly staff, and perfect location.

    1
    « Bad stay »

Was not told of almost 40 dollar night parking fee!.. run down area of town... at first was gave poor room in main back of hotel w double beds after booking king bed. We booked using points and are platinum members! Informed staff and they moved us to king in front which are much nicer rooms!!!! Staff was unfriendly! Would not recommend this hotel at all! We did not leave room and so glad it was just for one night!

    3
« Great location, rooms small »

The location of this hotel is great. You can walk to the French Market, Bourbon Street, and Canal Street. I had asked TripAdvisor members if they felt safe waking in the area and they said yes. I agree. We did walk during daylight hours and plenty of people are walking around the side streets. The hotel room was small. Parking is $39 and there are only about 45 spaces that are TIGHT if you have a truck, like we did. It was a challenge to park in the spot we had, but we did it. Breakfast was free and good. Staff people very nice and helpful. There is a bar right inside the lobby, but most of the time people only sat there with no bartender, which during the day you'd expect.

    4
« Great French Quarter Location »

A small group of us stayed here for a 3 night stay. The rooms were clean, the hotel was good, the breakfast above average. Parking was available but get in early as they fill up, and it's free parking. Good value, I will stay here again.

    « 21st Birthday »

There was 5 of us for my 40th birthday and my son's 21st Birthday so we got 2 rooms. 1 of the rooms was fine, the other yeah, no. The room we were suppose to get wasn't finished (no sheets on the bed and was only half cleaned) so they put us in another room. It was fine until we woke up the next morning to a soaked bathroom. The plumbing from The bathroom above us was leaking and was pouring down the wall, all over our bathroom floor. What a great way to start our first full day of celebrations, huh? They moved us to another room (the original room thay wasn't ready) but it wasn't properly cleaned. Instead of moving for a 3rd time, we decided to just deal with it. Completely disappointed in the hotel, the lack of housekeeping, and the fact that the elevators didn't work for the majority of the time we stayed. I could go into more detail about everything but you can form an opinion from the info I've already given. This is a mediocre hotel. There are way better ones and way worse ones in New Orleans, for the price stay in a better one. *If I can come back and upload the pictures of the bathroom, I will. Waiting for my friend to message them to me.*

« Clean and convenient location for tourists »

Nice ambience and friendly and helpful staff. The dining room is at the back with a pleasant outlook to the swimming pool. Having missed our intended arrival time the night before we were able to enter our rooms on arrival midmorning. My room was freezing, the heating hadn't been turned on. When I phoned down to reception it was promptly attended to. Apart from that the bedroom was comfortable and not noisy though it was a front room looking onto N Rampart St., a main road. I had asked for a quiet room when booking so I don't know if this was the case. A big tick goes to the free use of the computers with good wifi connection in the reception area. I would recommend this hotel.

    « Nice hotel »

Really enjoyed our Stay at the Best Western Plus French Quarter. We stayed here as part of a tour group. Rooms were quite dark but had a cosy feel to them. Hotel is well within walking distance to all main attractions. Park area was really nice and pool was warm. Would consider staying here again when we return to NOLA. Always had fresh cold iced water available in the bar area each day. Thanks for having us!

« french quarter of New Orleans »

Very pleasant stay. Temp was down at zero so did not use the pool or courtyard. Hotel was very pleasant to stay at. The outside area looks really sketchy though with Graffiti all over adjoining buildings. Area looks run down but we did not experience any problems. The hotel is very close to all the must-sees in the French quarter. Was an easy drive downtown to the cruise terminal.

« Great value for location »

It has a modern and old school vibe to it which is so French quarter. Very clean and great location. It's not in the middle of noise central (thankfully!) but it's within walking distance to everything in the French quarter. Approximately 10 minute walk to Jackson square and 5 minutes to bourbon st. Very positive experience. I would recommend.

    « Extra fun »

Wanted to spend a day on our way home in the French Quarter. So we stayed here. I would recommend it to everyone. In walking distance to everything. We felt safe walking around. Breakfast was GREAT. Service was good.

    « Awesome Hotel »

Stayed here for two nights in November. Awesome hotel loved how they managed to make it modern while keeping it looking old school. We had a room on the third floor with big comfy beds and a table. Modern bathroom with an awesome shower. The lift seemed a bit dodgy so we were happy to take the stairs. breakfast is complimentary and it was pretty good. Staff were very helpful. Complimentary ice cold water in the bar and also complimentary coffee. Location was awesome! Walking distance to everywhere!

    « Bathrooms too tiny. »

Bathroom was way too tiny and they just raised the cost of parking to $40 at the start of the year. Breakfast was so so, orange juice was watered down not even drinkable. Beds were extremely comfy!!!!

« New Orleans Get Away »

Good location to French Quarter...everything is in walking distance..so no need to take the car out of parking area...Uber any place else you would like to go...a lot of narrow one way streets in that area....

« Good time although cold in New Orleans »

The hotel on the edge of the French Quarter is a great location to walk to Bourbon and Royal Streets. The staff was great in meeting needs and was very friendly. The place was packed but it didn't lower the quality or value.

« Great place to stay in NOLA »

I've stayed at a lot of hotels but this was one of the best. Very friendly staff and extremely helpful. It is located on the edge of the French Quarter but the streetcar stops just outside the front of the hotel so you can get to a lot of places. They have parking, for a charge, and we ere able to leave our car when we checked out until the afternoon. Very helpful. The pace is not new but is well cared for and build around a garden so it have a real NOLA feel to it. I'm glad we stayed there.

« I would not stay there again!! »

We were over charged for a small room! The room was poorly lit and had a foul smell. The bathroom was not clean! We had to put towels down to walk on the floors. There was mold and water on the window seals. We got trapped in a very small elevator!!

    « Southern hospitality »

This hotel gets 5 stars in every catagory. The price is low and affordable. The location is beautiful with a courtyard that is really a sight to see. Every year when I go the big smiling faces of people who feel like family. The room is nicely decorated and very comfortable. It's at the top of the French Quarter so you're in walking distance of the heart of it all.

    « A great place to stay »

A great place to stay while in New Orleans. This is where you want to be when visiting the Big Easy. It's just a short walk from anywhere you'd want to be, but quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. Great rooms, lovely courtyard and bar.

« Best Hotel Breakfast in NOLA »

Our stay in NOLA was amazing!! This hotel has the best breakfast in NOLA and best of all it's included each and every day you stay. The rooms are a bit small for 2 adults and 2 teens but we enjoyed our stay. Within walking distance to Bourbon Street and many attractions within the French Quarter. I would stay again!!

« I like the ease of a small hotel »

I prefer the easy in easy out instead of the big hotels. Good location, breakfast, parking. Room was nice. Don't stay on the third floor if you care about stairs. I'll be back as I like to travel to NOLA often.

    4
    « Great location »

We enjoyed the location. A bit away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter, yet close enough to walk to most places. Friendly staff. Breakfast has good choices. A streetcar is close by if desired. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

    5
    « A Perfect Holiday »

BW has always been our hotel of choice. Great accommodations and service for the price, and a staff that will always help on questions regarding directions and local places of interest. Also always count on their full breakfasts to start our day.

    « Excellent »

Located in the French Quarter the staff and management are very courteous and helpful. Hotel amenities are fantastic. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and will recommend what you should see while visiting New Orleans. Overall a fantastic hotel!

    3
    « Conveniently located »

We found a good day on Orbiz travel then booked for this hotel which is located quite close to the French Quarter in New Orleans. Can't say it's the nicest hotel I have ever stayed but overall it's quite clean, breakfast and WiFi are included but don't expect nice food at least they have scramble egg and waffle making machine and free coffee! I supposed you want to eat out when you are in New Orleans :) the only thing is they don't supply toothpaste and our closest was broken (like the whole door felt off) but we didn't call them to fix it coz we didn't need it. Don't mind staying there again as I said it's closely located to everything. Tram station is right across the street from the hotel.

    3
    « Disappointed »

Our suite was not well lit. There was no place to read comfortably. The furniture was shabby. Couch was uncomfortable to sit on. No desk for using your computer. You had to hunch over the coffee table. Though we had a fridge & a microwave, there were no utensils in the room or a place to eat. Fridge froze soda, yet it had water in the bottom constantly. Only plastic glasses & coffee cups were provided. Bed was comfy, but the sheets weren't changed!! Room was NEVER vacuumed while we were there. Dark carpet showed wear & every little piece of dirt. The shower, jacuzzi & sink area were newer, but the room was not completely renovated. Lovely crown molding, but mirrored closet doors & dark walls kept the accommodation shabby looking. If you are considering this hotel note that you have to go outside to get to your room. Not great when it rains. Also, there is no food available, except at breakfast. Another disadvantage if it's raining out. We managed to enjoy NOLA in spite of the disappointing room. I guess we were spoiled from our previous vacations, but the high price of staying four days ($169 on a Thursday) increased on the 3 weekend days to $270. In my opinion, at those prices the room should get a perfect score.

    4
    « Great mini VACA »

This was a planned mini vacation with my friends that was a great time. With the exception of the cold weather we had a wonderful time. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff was always willing to assist. If i come back to NOLA i will surely consider this hotel.

    « Enjoyed Our Stay. »

Excellent location. Very helpful staff. Great free breakfast. The only negative is that my room had terrible television reception. Walking distance to shopping, historical sites and great restaurants.

    5
    « Awesome »

We loved our stay. Room was very clean. Although a microwave in the room would be nice. Breakfast each morning was amazing. All staff was super helpful and kind. Very close to Trolly line to get to all the sites and Harrah's.

« Good location within New Orleans »

This hotel is well positioned with respect to the French Quarter..an easy walk to most attractions. When using the paid parking you must be very careful not to prang your own or anyone else's vehicle....there is about an inch between the parked cars! Breakfast was delicious!

    « Quick Road Trip »

Great Vacation! This place was a little further from the French Quater but still within walking distance. I had a little bit of a hic up when I was checking in but after a few phone calls we got it fixed.

« close enough to Bourbon Street »

This hotel was a peaceful ,quiet place. Was close to street car service. You can walk to Bourbon street which is about 3 blocks away.Close enough to the activity but just far enough to get away from the noise

    « New Orleans »

the staff is friendly and helpful the room was very clean and updated the only problem we had was the air conditioner was loud and in need of repair the exterior of the building was awesome in some areas and in others were in need of repair mostly cosmetic

« Friendly staff and easy walk to attractions & streetcar »

Came down for a mini-vacation with my husband--very nice property at the Northeast part of the French Quarter & close to the Streetcar line on Rampart. Rooms were comfortable with large showers. Breakfast was great with multiple different offerings each morning and a large dining area. It was an easy walk to multiple attractions and we could just hop on the streetcar & transfer if we didn't feel like walking (we had a rainy day and this was the way to see the sights without getting wet). Very friendly staff who always greeted you with a smile.

« Best Hotel for the Money in the French Quarter »

My husband and I stayed here for the first leg of our honeymoon. I haven't been to the French Quarter before so I really didn't know what to expect. Well, this hotel hit all the criteria we were looking for: 1. Walking distance to all the sights in the FQ - check. 2. Clean rooms , comfortable beds, fitness room, included daily breakfast- check. 3. Reasonable parking rate / safe location - check. 4. Great customer service - check! Special mention to Kim and Charlene for their exceptional customer service! We are so happy for choosing to stay here. We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the French Quarter!

    5
« The best deal in the French Quarter »

What a value!! This place is right in the French Quarter. It however, is not in noise central. The place is old... and charming. This is why you come to the French Quarter! The courtyard is quaint and has a pool. There are walkway balconies overlooking the pool and courtyard. There is cheap( by the FQ standards) parking. Nowhere cheaper for your overnight parking in the FQ. The rooms are refurbished are spotless. Our room had beautiful art. Tastefully decorated too! Relatively new as well! Nothing cheap looking. The beds were ridiculously comfortable and I want to know where they got their pillows! ?My Pillow? has nothing on these. I slept better than in my own bed. Breakfasts were the best I've seen at any place at any price in the quarter.... and it's free. Sausages, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, fruit, different types of coffee and teas, breads, pastries and more. The best deal in the quarter and the people working here were completely friendly. I have to say that there was not a clogged shower, a drippy faucet nor a bad experience. Save your money and stay here. Great job.

    « Great hotel »

Nice hotel. Far away enough to be quiet but still within walking distance from mostly everything. Free breakfast a big plus and actually very good. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend.

    3
    « Adequate »

The free hot breakfast food is just okay. Coffee was terrible, juice was terrible. Staff is friendly, hotel itself is outdated, pool is outdoors only. WiFi is poor, toilet was poor or maybe the just the plumbing. Bed was very comfortable. Elevator is very small. Location is ok.

    4
    « In City Accommodations »

The BW French Quarter Landmark is an excellent hotel to stay while visiting New Orleans. It is within walking distance to many of New Orleans desirable attractions, the provided free breakfast is very good with many choices and there is on-site secure and free parking. Rooms are on the small side, but up-dated, comfortable and quiet.

    4
    « New Orleans Layover »

Great location, walking distance to everything in French quarter. Old historic building with fountain in courtyard. Rustic room, a bit dark but OK for a short stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, made us feel very welcomed. Nice selection for breakfast. Convenient car park but there is a fee. Right across from Luis Armstrong Park.

    « Great stay »

We really loved your hotel and location, would stay there again and again! New Orleans is a great place and there is so much to do and we were where we should walk to a lot of places, without having to get in the car.

    3
« Location, staff and breakfast add up to three stars »

Sometimes location wins out in picking a place to overnight, and this BW at the edge of the French Quarter has it. The most popular things to see were a 15-minute walk or a combination of streetcar rides. The staff was helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. No mis-steps there. Breakfast had eggs, meats, breads, potatoes, waffles and more. What are the negatives? The rooms are dated and dark. The soft water combined with soap makes the shower floor a little slippery. Parking is not complimentary.

    5
    « Wonderful Location - Friendly Staff »

Wonderful hotel stay...bed was so comfortable...room was spacious...hotel was in a great location across from Louis Armstrong Park...out of the craziness, but in walking distance to find it on Bourban Street and the French Quarter! Hotel Staff was the most courteous we have experienced in a very long time...we would definitely stay at this hotel again...they served a "continental breakfast" but this breakfast included eggs, potatoes, bisquits, sausage, waffles, etc.

    3
    « It's a motel »

Somewhat close to French quarters. About 15min walk. Place/room smelled like pot. Continental breakfast was good, staff was friendly. I would stay here again if no other hotels are booked. Aside from the smell of pot, it is a typical motel.

    5
    « Great Getaway »

Had an awesome time! Lavonte was excellent...top notch employee. He gave us great information about a restaurant within walking distance. Beds were excellent!! Very comfortable. The only thing that hotel needs is more trash cans. Only small one in a room isn't enough and housekeeping just came into room one day, but otherwise everything was great!

    2
« French Quarter felt Safe - This Hotel did NOT »

The common area was dirty, felt unsafe with men loitering in the halls. The staff was split. There were a few VERY nice staff members, There were some Very indifferent, rude representatives. I have stayed at many Best Western and I have never complained about Best Western, Actually, never complained about any hotel.

    1
    « Stay somewhere else »

We stayed here for three nights in November. The plus points are the friendly helpful reception staff, the fact that they include breakfast, and the location is within walking distance of Bourbon Street. The not so good points were the area as were advised not to walk down the side of Loius Armstrong park opposite ' to stay safe'. The room did not smell clean and the only way to ventilate it was to leave the door open with neighbours walking by. The room was also incredibly dark even though we overlooked the courtyard. The worst experience here was the attitude of the duty manager on the night we arrived. Our room safe did not work and as there were signs saying the safe must be used we were reluctant to go out until it was sorted. We rang reception and were advised that the manager had to deal with that problem. We waited for 30 mins and rang again and went to reception to enquire. He arrived over 45 mins later and when I pointed out we had been unable to go out due to delay he became aggressive telling us how he had had to take his lunch and deal with a blocked drain in someone else's room. Like a previous reviewer I had to muster all the professionalism I could to respond without being equally angry. He did eventually apologise and sent us a bottle of wine but I would have much preferred for the problem to have been dealt with more appropriately. In total it took more than an hour to resolve this issue. The attitude along with the poor standard of cleanliness prevents me from recommending this hotel which is a shame for the hard working friendly reception staff who do you make you feel welcome.

    2
    « Honestly disappointed »

This hotel was not in a good location..taking a trolley was not fun...everyone else at this huge wedding stayed right in town and they walked everywhere. We could have stayed at the Omni for a little more than we paid at Best Western. Awful room 3rd floor court side.

    3
« Did not meet my expectations, but slept well. »

I was not told upon arrival that there would be a parking fee of almost $30. I found out when I looked at my receipt when checking out. There was no shower curtain and the water pressure was extremely high. The room was on the smaller side, but it worked. In the end, what truly mattered to me was having a comfortable bed to sleep in and that's what I got. However, if I had know that I would be charged so much for parking I would have more than likely booked a room at a different hotel with a cheaper price. The hotel was advertising a price of $124 for the king bedroom. After the taxes and parking I ended up paying over $170.

« Letting the Good Times Roll »

? The staff is phenomenal. Every person from front desk to housekeeping to breakfast staff to groundskeepers was the epitome of southern hospitality: warm, friendly, professional and engaged. ? Breakfast was always beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. The inventive menu was much appreciated for our five-day stay. ? The grounds show a great commitment to appearance: well-swept, clean, tidy and serene. ? The daily housekeeping was attentive and caring -- welcoming us back from our outings with a beautifully made bed, fresh piles of towels, shiny clean counters and bathroom. ? The room amenities were a great surprise which included two very quiet and dependable items: AC and refrigerator. ? The Jacuzzi is a jewel and the showcase of the room ? The king-size bed was pure comfy luxe for restorative naps and nighttime sleeping. ? The closet was a delightful spacious surprise with the interior light, detachable quality wooden hangers, and mirrored doors. ? The additional sink at the bar-counter was used and appreciated often.

« First and last visit to this hotel! »

Went to NOLA for a fundraiser, that we attend every year. Have tried different hotels in different parts of the city. So we thought this one looked OK to give a try. WRONG! Upon check in 11/3/2017, about 4:30 PM, we were told that our reservation had been cancelled. We had not cancelled, so I asked who cancelled and when? The desk staff couldn't tell. However, they said we can find you a room. We had reserved (month ago) an executive king room. What we got was an ADA accessible room, that looked like a Motel 6, at best! In addition, when the front desk ran my credit card, they said it was declined. Well, that isn't accurate. So I gave them another card, declined as well. Again, not accurate. They ran the same card again and it was fine. One guy said "we've been having problems with our computer so it's probably just our equipment." That is a true statement. The other worker, said "no, it's her card, she needs to check with her credit card company." I replied, "No, it just worked, there is nothing wrong with either of my cards." It took all I had to be professional at this point, I clearly was not dealing with professionalism on the other side of the desk. At any rate, we got checked it, went to our terrible room and got ready for our function that evening. The hotel is not very clean. I have no idea what the cleaning staff does while on duty, but cleaning is not one of them. After the first night, they did not empty trash, pick up towels from the floor, clean the sink, or anything else for that matter. There was a piece of toilet paper on the floor when we checked in and it was still there when we left. I put on socks when I get out of the shower to keep my feet clean. I put on white socks and they were black by the time I left. Looked like Wal Mart feet. The hotel is noisy. The trash trucks come around 4:30 - 5:00 AM every morning and it is loud! Needless to say, this was a one time stay at this establishment. It's probably fine for people that like cheap motels. Just not us!

    3
« Excellent location + quiet; but old »

There is nothing terrible about this hotel - staff is very friendly. The location is excellent, and actually very quiet. But it really needs a huge overhaul. The room is very old, and I grossed out every time I had to walk on the carpet without shoes. The cleaning lady didn't clean our room the entire time we were there - we had shown up (3pm) at the same time she was going to clean, and just left. No microwave or fridge.

    4
« French Quarter, New Orleans »

The hotel was within walking distance of many French Quarter attractions. The staff was exceptionally friendly and made the hotel feel like home away from home. The hotel room was small and the late night returning guests to the rooms was loud. The exercise room was not cleaned all week and they did not supply items for me to clean the equipment even when I requested it. The breakfast was exceptional on the weekend, but the fruit was canned during the week. I would return because of the staff.

    4
« Good service and good value »

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was fine and surprisingly quiet. The breakfast was very good. The location was great for us, right on a trolley line and right at the edge of the quarter.

    « Wonderful stay »

I spent three nights at this hotel and it was nice, clean. I especially enjoyed the breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Special shout to the Evening front desk staff(Tae) He was so friendly and helpful. Great stay

    « Very pleasant 4 night stay »

King room on 2nd floor was very clean with all the amenities including a bar fridge. Beds were very comfortable and rooms are nicely decorated. Front desk staff, Tracy and Brunetta, were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had variety everyday. The dining area was kept very tidy and foods were filled up quickly. We would definitely stay here again.

« Trip to New Orleans »

We had a king room on the second floor. The room it self was small, not much room to move around. The price was right and the breakfast was great. Just a few blocks away from Bourbon Street. Easy walking to area attractions. Did get nervous when some people tried getting off our city tour bus just east of our hotel and the tour guide said, ?You don't want to get off here. There are places in New Orleans that you just want to stay away from.?

    « Simply great! »

Great location, great breakfast, great staff, great price( come on guys!), great patio w/ pool....ok?..rooms are kinda small, so what, make it work, don't complaint and be happy!! Just enjoy yourself and forget about..Laissez le bon temps rouler!

    « Simply the BEST! »

Always the best! Safe and perfectly located in the French Quarter! I tell all friends and family about my stay at the Best Western. I would t stay anywhere else. If I had to, it wouldn't be the same. The staff makes this place the best. Of course, if the staff wasn't friendly and courteous , I would not return, but I have returned for the past 6 years every year at least once or twice a year!

    4
    « Good location »

Great location on Rampart St, Right on the edge of the French Quarter and opposite Armstrong Park. All the French Quarter is easily inside walking distance with Bourbon St just a couple of blocks away - which is close enough in my opinion. Also situated right on one of the streetcar lines. The hotel is OK, rooms a bit dark decorated in brown and beige, more functional than attractive. The included breakfast is basic and busy but does the job as there are many eateries nearby. Staff all helpful and pleasant and rooms clean. There is a small pool area as well. So, not great, morbid by any means, a great base I'd you want to use it just as that.

« Two days in The French Qtr 10/12 and 10/13 »

My wife and I along with our 19 year old son spent 2 days at the BWPFQL in a standard two double bed room. The hotel was very convenient to all things French Qtr. Quiet and clean but small room with friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast is good and more than sufficient to begin your day. Dont spend the extra $ for courtyard view. After all the French Qtr itself is the star and you wont spend much time looking out your hotel window at the courtyard. Its no more than a ten min walk to anything in FQ and is directly across the street from Louis Armstrong Park. Also hotel is very easy access from interstate.

    5
« Top of the line service! »

The customer service here is above and beyond! Battery in my car died and Lawrontay, the gentleman working the front desk, got us checked in and then helped me repair my vehicle! Room is great, location was on point, and the service is spectacular! Look no further than this hotel! Ask for Lawrontay and he will get you taken care of!

    « Nice quiet hotel »

This Western Hotel is on the north end of the French Quarter. It's close enough to walk to anything you want to see in the quarter and far enough away from Bourbon St that you won't be disturbed by the noisy tourists and buskers. Our reserved room with a jetted tub had a broken pipe so the manager gave us another room at half price until we could move into the reserved room. Room 301 where we ended up is a handicap accessible room on the street side of the hotel, so there is some traffic noise but not much. The bed was very comfortable and the room is large. The towels are plentiful and very fluffy. The room had a fridge. On the fourth day the hotel staff moved our stuff into one of the hot tub suites for the last 3 nights of our stay. These suites are on the ground floor off of the courtyard garden. Again the bed was very nice and the suite was quite large. This room had a fridge and microwave which was great for heating up leftovers. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. We got a lot of great suggestions about where to eat and how to use the tram. They also were happy to make reservations for tours. The breakfast was plentiful and typical for Best Western. All in all a good place to stay.

    5
« Great location and amazing breakfast »

We booked this hotel for a wedding and we are very happy with your stay. Yes the parking is tight (so is everywhere in NOLA) and the rooms are small but we only slept in them. The rooms would feel bigger If they didn't stuff them full with so mosh excessive furniture but was till done. The paint smell outside our room was a little nauseating but I assume that will be temporary. This is a nice, clean basic hotel within walking distance to the action. A couple blocks from bourbon and royal street and about a 10 min walk to the square. But the breakfast might be the best hotel breakfast we have had! Clean, comfortable and helpful staff.

    « Great hotel »

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a large group, the hotel overall was very good. Friendly staff at the front desk which done everything they could to help you, also the bar staff we came across were great! Only 1 problem what came up with staff was that one of our friends who stayed here at the same time had some money stolen from her room, which a master key was used to enter her room. Which was reported, apart from that there was no problem. The rooms where clean, beds were very comfy and offered everything you need while staying at the hotel. The pool was really nice, with lots of sunbeds and seating around the edge! There is a small gym with cardio machines and free weight machines which was nice. Breakfasts in the mornings offered a variety of different foods which was all good. Free wifi Location of the hotel was very good! Only a 10 minute walk and your in all the action of the French quarter such a bourbon street and where it's all happening in New Orleans! Would defiantly recommend this hotel

Overall experience was great. The room was a little small but we made it work. (Only stayed one night). The breakfast was good and the location was also. We enjoyed the walk to the French Quarter. The tourism taxes and parking are a bit much.

« Great staff, great value »

The staff was great, especially Darlene. The location made it simple to find your way around the French Quarter. Loved the free breakfast every morning. Room was clean. Cab stand right outside the door.

« Great front desk staff »

We booked this hotel online and were definitely not disappointed. Rooms are great, beds are very comfortable and the breakfast was great. Home cooked oatmeal, waffles, sandwich fixings, including shredded cheese and salsa. Only surprise was the $26 per day for parking, but I hear this is normal with all hotels in the city. Upside was you could come and go as you please. Front desk staff, including Robert, were very helpful with directions to trolley stops, stores in the area and to the French Quarter.

« Great place to stay »

Stayed here in September 2017. The hotel is everything we hoped for - great location on the edge of the French Quarter with a tram line right outside the front door. Great room on the third floor overlooking the courtyard and the pool. Good breakfasts and friendly staff who fixed a minor problem very quickly. The hotel is close to bars and restaurants and shops, all of which are easy to get to on foot. We hope to come back.

The AC sound is very loud, can't sleep well at night. Parking lot is too compact, it's difficult to park. Not much choice for breakfast. The room is much smaller and narrower than pictures. Beautiful yard but we can't see it from our room.

The staff at this hotel is outstanding. The room and premises were very pleasant. The room was not large but well appointed. The bathroom was small but clean. The location worked well for us and the rates are reasonable.

    « Great location »

Stayed 3 nights. Great location within walking distance of French Quarter and all the night life. Good breakfast and polite helpful staff. Only slight criticism is that we couldn't find any bar staff on Wednesday night so we couldn't get a drink. Silly little things like no shampoo but 2 conditioners, no coffees left on one day. Also room is very dark but I guess this helps it stay cool. Overall good stay and good value mid week.

We were able to check in early which saved a lot of hassle for us. The staff was always friendly to us. The location is fantastic and we were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast was good and had a lot of options. Will stay here again!

« Great staff! They went over and beyond to help my first trip to New Orleans be a great trip. »

Would recommend this place if you are Okay with walking to the action (ie Burbon street and various restaurants). It was pretty quiet nights so you can actually get some sleep. Only thing i would say that would really help is an in house restaurant or room service.

    « Family trip »

Close to the French Quarter without the noise. Walked almost everywhere. Breakfast saved a lot of time & cost. Parking was on site so less loading and packing up. Pool was quaint. The hotel has an elevator. Needs a microwave to keep the family happy.

Room 246 Still had the last tenants clothing. Exterior Door jam was busted. Loud construction nearby. Pillows were very small. Room was very dark. Remote did not work Small shower only. Moved to room 305 Bathroom door did not shut. A/C unit made rattle noise. Room keys did not work after first night, has to get new keys. Nice big pillows! Plenty of light! Hotel over sells parking lot. Double parking of cars in the lot. Must leave keys with front desk so that they can juggle cars, which lead to damage to our car.

My fiancé and I stayed here this past weekend. The hotel was beautiful and so was our room. Very romantic. All of the staff was very friendly to us. The ladies at the front desk were wonderful. Ty the bartender was also very friendly and kind. The hotel was in a great location. Perfect walking distance to the French Quarter. Quiet enough of a location too. We will definitely come back and stay here again.

« Great location, good hotel »

The location, just on the verge of French Quarter with 5-minute walk to its center sells this htel easily. But it has also more to offer - quaint insides and nice architecture, a very nice pool, breakfasts slightly better than all other motels and a good service. The price is OK for New Orleans and this location, though you have to pay additionally for th parking. Overall I had a great experience.

    5
    « Location, Service »

This was the most amazing hotel I've been to in this price range. They have beautiful rooms, a historic property, a pretty (if small) pool, a bar, free, (REALLY GOOD) hot breakfast. The service really is phenomenal. It is only a few minutes walk away from Bourbon street, only a few more from Jackson Square, right near where a few walking tours depart, and across the street from an amazing park.

    « Great value! »

Located on the edge of the French Quarter, we expected some unwelcome excitement during our stay, but we were pleasantly surprised! Lovely decor, clean, comfy, secure parking, friendly staff, inviting courtyard with pool, and walking distance to so many attractions! This place really has it all!

    5
    « Great customer service »

This hotel is located in French Quarter away from the noisy area but close enough to walk everywhere. The rooms had unique layouts due to the historic nature of the building. What stands out here is the great customer service in all areas. The front desk staff went above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast staff were so hard working and very personable. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and the eating area was relaxing and beautiful.

« Good value for French Quarter »

We stayed here two nights of our New Orleans stay. It's a clean and quaint hotel, with pretty good breakfast. Easy to walk to the French Quarter and all it's hot spots. My only suggestion is for them to lighten up the guest rooms a bit. Our room was located down a hallway and with the dark decor, it made it difficult to get going in the morning because there was hardly any sunlight. Other than that, a solid choice.

« A Quiet Retreat on the Edge of the French Quarter »

This small, almost boutique hotel on the boundary of the French Quarter offers a quiet respite from the hullabaloo of Bourbon Street, and the French Market just three blocks away. In the centre of the hotel is a shaded, landscaped courtyard with an al fresco dining area, and swimming pool. The rooms are clean, comfortable and roomy, with good amenities. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful with booking tours, and answering questions. Breakfast was varied and delicious. There is a welcoming bar and lounge, which is a great place to meet fellow travellers.

    5
    « Amazing Staff! »

Clean up your own dishes! The Bfast staff arent waitresses. Unless you are leaving a tip, don't be ugly. They work hard for you to give you an amazing Bfast to start YOUR day. All staff was amazing here. Please give more space for vehicles. Thank God I had my convertible to be able to get in my car by opening it up. To pay $28.50 to park in a tight space but having posters saying "Not responsible for your car" is not so cool & you know what you are doing, clearly.

    « The French Quarter »

Upon arriving we were enthusiastically greeted by Lawrentay, he was extremely polite, courteous and knowledgeable. The hotel was very nice and comfortable, the pool and courtyard were very relaxing. We even ate breakfast by the pool, which was a good breakfast. Onsite parking was a great plus and I never felt worried about the safety of the car or its contents. It was a short walk to bourbon street or even down to St Louis Cathedral and then to the Central Grocery and Deli for the famous Muffuletta.

    4
    « Great spot »

This hotel is very nice, very convenient to bourbon street, great restaurants and bars. Ask at the front desk about Oceana! Nice pool and patio area, fairly quiet as well. The bar is well-stocked and bar staff is friendly and fast

« Everyone makes you feel at home here!!!! Very helpful! »

Great place to stay, and to take the family. Wonderful pool! Friendly staff. Right in the edges of the French Quarter! Just 3 blocks from Bourbon Street and 6 blocks from Decatur Street. Two blocks from St Ann's street with a straight shot down to Jackson Square.

« Ms. Kim was wonderful »

So I just came back from New Orleans and I must say I had a excellent time. A huge part of that was because of Ms.Kim, I met her at breakfast the first day and she immediately made me feel comfortable to ask her questions about the city and the hotel. She made sure me and my friends had everything we needed and definitely went the extra mile. When I come back to New Orleans I will definitely stay here again and I hope to see Ms.Kim there again. If you want a affordable, clean, hospitable, and good location hotel look no further. P.S it comes with free breakfast and it was the bomb!!!!

    « i say yes »

the hotel decor is older, not so modern but thats ok. the elevator is small and the parking spots are small. the shower is small and stand up only, no sit down tub. the room has no microwave. the room was clean and comfortable. the staff were super nice and welcoming. walking distance from what i consider the far end of new orleans. also what i consider colorful flag end of new orleans. walking distance to the french market. fridge in the room. did not try the breakfast, bar, or pool but i was grateful for the options. the cleaning staff was kind enough to leave a friendly note when they were not able to make my bed due to me leaving my open suitcase on top of it while i was away. i appreciated that. overall super stay. i recommend and i will return.

    « One night stay »

The location is within walking distance from Bourbon St. Parking is terrible, they stack the vehicles in and when it's time for you to leave it could take a while. It took them one hour to move the cars so that I could get out.

    « Great location »

Great hotel, room, and staff. There was no parking but they will assist you if you pay for parking. $20-30 depending on size. Location was great to leave car because everything is in walking distance.

« Not too far from the shenanigans »

Had everything we needed for our first trip to NOLA. If i had to complain, the parking lot would get filled up and you would have to let the front desk hold your keys so they can move cars around themselves if need be. This might be a huge problem if a vehicle was damaged during the stay. Proximity to bars and restaurants wasnt too bad. Being in NOLA, you could probably throw a rock in any direction and hit one of the two. Most places that we went to was about a mile to 2 miles away though. Brisk walk or easy uber ride. Didnt use the pool but it was always poppin with guests. Breakfast was always packed, but i was only there for the coffee. Rooms are well kept. BEWARE THE HOT WATER, their water heater is the bees knees to it turns up real fast.

    « great experience/ friendly staff »

I transferred from the Holiday Inn at the Superdome, after receiving subpar service there. I believe my experience was primarily driven by the rate I was paying, which was rack rate from the visitor center upon entry in the state. Based on my observation, other guests were fully served, while I was fully ignored when needing service, which primarily related to requesting additional towels or utilization of the pool. There were 3 family reunions going on at the time, which had completely overtaken the hotel. The staff did not seem to have the ability to accommodate other guests. The pool is located at ballroom level, which accommodate any large functions, the spill over from the family reunions did not allow other guests to enjoy the facilities. Effectively the family reunion took over. Further the rack rate was going up 300% for the weekend stay. I had no problem paying a higher fee at the best western, including the parking fee; however the Holiday Inn did not deserve such rare even though the beds were more comfortable. The subpar treatment as a third class citizen was enough to deter me from switching from the Holiday Inn to the Best Western. Additionally the Best Westetn is ina preserved historic district, very quaint, friendly staff, lacking a bit in accommodations, but well worth the switch. Hotels should not judge customers by the rate they are paying!!! Overall I recommend the Best Western, which is also conveniently located in the French Quarter. I also want to add that this is my first review ever, which is to be taken with a grain of salt, but generally there are two spectrums. Completely satisfied and unssatisfied. So obviously in terms of the Holiday Inn I am completely unsatisfied and feel that the treatment I received was based on the rate I was paying. For the rate it was acceptable; however for $200 plus a night, plus parking - NOT worth it, considering the shower had no pressure, the toilet did not flush fully, the AC created a 1 inch puddle on the balcony from all the condensation and not to mention all the noise throughout the night. If you are paying anything over $100 including parking for the Holiday Inn, you are wasting your money. Breakfast is not included either!!!!

This is my 3rd night here. It's in a good position to everything in the French quarter. It's clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided is quite good. They don't have a restaurant here for evening meals but there's so many good restaurants around it's not a problem. Housekeeping are very late coming around if they come around at all. All in all this is a good place.

« Fabulous location and excellent service »

This Best Western proved to be a great place to stay in New Orleans. The location can't be beat. It is on a streetcar line and we were able to walk to the stop and then tour the city with our $3 day pass. We walked several blocks into the heart of the French Quarter one evening for a fun dinner on Bourbon Street followed by some jazz.. The hotel offers an excellent hot breakfast each morning and that was appreciated, too. The room wasn't large but our king size bed was super comfy, The hotel is built around a courtyard and the ambiance was very nice. The staff was wonderful -- sharing ideas for restaurants, showing us a map and explaining how to get around on the streetcars, and making sure that a taxi arrived right on time to take us to the airport.

« Great Hotel in a great location »

I've stayed here at the Best Western Plus French Quarter Landmark hotel two different times, and have really enjoyed my stay both times. It's located in the "neighborhood" side of the French Quarter and close to Armstrong Park, Frenchmen Street, and The Marigny. If you want to get away from all the traffic on the busier side of the FQ but still be in the mix this is the place to be. Highly recommend.

    « French quarter hotel »

The hotel is within walking distance of the French quarter World War II museum and the aquarium staff is very good rooms are clean but the beds are very soft making it hard to sleep on it was also hard to regulate the air temperature and the heavy curtains did not shut all the way so I had to use a hanger to keep the light out At night.

Overall the staff at the Best Western were extremely polite! It was my first time in New Orleans and I had an awesome time. The highlight of the Hotel stay was the great hot breakfast made by Kim and the rest of that breakfast crew. Kim was kindhearted and was always seen chatting with guest. She was helpful with highlighting some places my group could go for some good jazz and good food. She was super helpful and always did it with a smile! Always good to be in a place where you feel at home! Thank you Best Western and staff for a lovely stay!

Great staff!!! The staff here is awesome and the amount of effort that they put into their job is amazing. I always saw smiling faces and if I needed anything they were always there to help. « Good priced for the french quarter »

It was a good location and price, but the parking was like a sardine can. The staff were very friendly. The tv channels kept going out and the room was musky smelling, the hotel lobby was very unique. And the pool area was beautiful.

    4
    « Great location »

We use Best Western as our 'go to' hotel and the Landmark was very good in most respects. The staff were great, the room very clean and with good facilities. The only two observations would be 1) that it was very dark and the brown walls and decor made it even more somber and 2) the air con was very noisy even on the lowest fan setting (they need to be replaced by more modern efficient units for the light sleepers amongst. us!). That criticism apart, breakfast was great and the location is perfect for seeing all the sights especially as the tram goes right past the hotel.

Very good. The only thing that was different, which was not on any online hotel.com, was that you would have to pay for parking. I was glad I did because it would have been hard to park outside in the street. Service was fantastic. Employee's helped with any question we had. Breakfast was fantastic. I had no problem and will book again in the near future.

    « Great value »

For me it was a great location, the staff is friendly and the rooms were clean. Bicycle rentals a few doors down allows easy access to the French quarter via back roads. The bar and lounge offers a place to relax after a busy day.

    « Good Value »

The hotel is a good value. It's quaint and comfortable. I loved the courtyard. It's close enough to walk to most points of interest but away from the madness that is Bourbon Street. The breakfast is enough to fill you up and start your day. Easy to access the streetcar or catch a cab if needed. Quick 4 blocks to all that is NOLA.

    3
    « Nice Hotel »

This is a nice hotel. It is located in the back of the French Quarter so it's not too loud. Overall experience was nice. My only issue is the parking rate. There was no information regarding a parking fee during booking. Parking is $20-30 per day. I had to pay almost $100 just for parking, and was also billed $100 for incidental fees which is refunded after check out. Kind of a bummer on a trip where these were additional fees.

    3
« Close to Bourbon Street »

We booked into this Hotel for 4 nights. The Hotel is average with one small sized lift, rooms were small and so was the bathroom with a shower/tub facility. The breakfast provided was also average. The only advantage it was two blocks from Bourbon Street and the Street Car was outside the Hotel which went to the main strip, Canal Street. For the cost per night, we could have booked another Hotel of a better standard.

Housekeeping was mediocre, often didn't leave things like towels or did leave their cleaning supplies. Pool and courtyard were lovely other than the rat. « Not helpful staff/ Dirty »

My buddy and I arrived on May 19th around 4pm. First we parked in the tiny parking garage. Which was difficult in our Toyota Camry. I get to the counter and give them gentlemen my name, he says we do not have a reservation. He does further digging and find one I had canceled a few months before, but could not find the one I booked through Priceline. A lady tried helping him and blew her off and she left and he pretty much told me it was all on me to find out what had happened. We spend over an hour on the phone going back and forth with Priceline and front desk staff. When finally the guy at the desk realized my information had been there all along and that someone at the location never put my information into the system. I left annoyed with no apology for their mess up. I just wanted to start my trip is was 6:30 at this point. Later, I realized I had not gotten a parking pass and did not want my car to be towed. So I stop by the counter around 8 the same night and the other lady who had been at the counter the whole time I had been having these problems. Pretty much told me not to worry and they would take care of the parking. 2 days later I check out and they lady charged me for the 2 days and said there was nothing I could do. I was leaving to go to Florida for a few days so did not have time to waste another hour of my trip trying to get the charged fixed... The rooms are fine but the pics make them seem much nicer than they really were. I saw left over beer bottles that sat on the stairs for 6 hours. It really could use a good cleaning. I stayed at the Marriott French Quarter a week later for 40 bucks a night cheaper, nicer hotel, and staff. Should have just stayed there both weekends.

« Parking Spaces are too Small and Staff not Helpful »

Parking spaces are waaaaay too small. Also, there are poles in the parking lot. I advised the front desk clerk that I did not think I would be able to park. There were only 3 spaces left and they were between other cars andpoles. The front desk clerk said, "You can do it, I do it everyday." I asked if there was any other parking. She advised there was not. I attempted to park and bumped another guests car and a pole due to the tight fit. Staff and manager made sure to tell me that they were not responsible. I advised I was not parking there and the manager advised that I could park in a handicap space. There were other cars parked in the handicap spaces for the same reason. Bad beginning to my stay. Will not stay again because of the rediculous parking situation.

« Comfortable rooms, very helpful staff, nice ambience. A great base to tour NOLA »

We stayed for two nights and did not like the first room offered. The staff went out of their way to find us a better one, which they did. The hotel is built around a courtyard with a pool and plenty of tree shade. The breakfasts were adequate, with to and cold options, although their idea of yogurt and mine may not quite be the same! The staff helped us book tours and gave useful advice: thanks.

We enjoyed staying here. Friendly staff, clean, great walking distance to attractions in the French Quarter. Our immediate need for 2 rooms was taken care of. We had booked rooms at a different hotel, which was more expensive and did not meet our expectations.. SO thankful The Landmark Best Western was close by to rescue us!!!!! The continental breakfast's were always good.

« Wanted to stay longer »

Loved New Orleans and this hotel was in a great location. Yes you had to walk 3 blocks to the action in town but so many interesting little streets to discover on the walk. Very friendly, helpful staff. My only down point was that there was no food available other than the big breakfast. Buy your dinner downtown and all problems solved. Staff helped with touristy stuff and fixed any issue.

The breakfast at the Best Western French Quarter Landmark was the best I have seen in years and the staff were exceptional. The rooms were standard, but the showers were what made the rooms, I wanted to take the shower home with me. Also the hotel has a great pool and relaxing atmosphere. I would stay away from the pool bathrooms though.

« Comfortable hotel in the French Quarter »

This hotel ticked most of the requirements for our vacation:- Ease of transport- Streetcar line and bus route stop close to the hotel and a taxicab stand right outside ($36 to or from airport- cheaper and quicker than the multi-hotel shuttle buses for two people). Within walking distance of attractions- Armstrong Park (across the road), Bourbon Street (5 minutes), French Market (10 minutes), Natchez Steamship (15 minutes), and Aquarium (20 minutes). Quiet hotel- although in the French Quarter, the hotel was peaceful and undisturbed by the sounds from Bourbon Street. Swimming pool- not huge, but quite adequate and cleaned daily. Complimentary breakfast- Quite a reasonable selection of hot and cold foods but the tea bags are a bit weak. It is a pity that the restaurant did not open in the evenings, as one does not always want to eat out. Comfortable Room- Ours had a double bed (some have twinbeds), Coffeemaker (no teabags, but not insurmountable), En-suite facilities (this included the BEST shower cubicle that I have found in any hotel, anywhere). The staff were friendly and very helpful. The free WiFi worked great. The a/c is good but a bit loud. Unfortunately, our room was one of the last to be serviced daily, but apart from that, a good choice of hotel.

« Best service and convenient location! »

We were looking for a centrally located hotel within walking distance of French Quarter, near the streetcar stops and in easy distance to catch a bus to JazzFest. This hotel filled the bill. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and made our stay pleasant and worry-free. They even allowed us to store our baggage the last day of JazzFest, after our room rental expired, then picked up for our taxi ride to the airport. The only disappointing aspect was the rooms (not just ours) seemed damp. It did rain during our stay, but the rooms should have dried out with the air conditioning running. Other guests seemed to have the same issues, but that was the only thing. We especially liked the courtyard for breakfast seating and happy hour/evening drinks with friends. Our visit was so good, we checked into parking fees and off-season room rates for a return visit. Thank you Best Western Plus!

    « Great location »

Great location. Rooms are too small. Pool water is cloudy. Excellent staff. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Hotel is older than it appears in pictures. Great location but hotel is too old for my taste. Rooms are too muggy despite having the air conditioning running all day

    « A great place to stay »

We really felt welcome at the Best Western Landmark from the moment we arrived. All the staff looked after our every need. We were directed towards just the right activities to enhance our trip. Can't wait to return.

    « Nice, But........ »

Good location. Overall, first impression was very good. The room, however needs a little TLC. We had room 216 which overlooked the courtyard. It was quiet and the bed was clean, But the room needs a good cleaning. The walls around the vanity were splattered with toothpaste spray, the door in the Water Closet needs to be closed and cleaned; because the inside of it was dirty. And we had to move the table to make room for our luggage and the wall behind the table looked like someone had spilled milk and it had not been cleaned. We traveled with a bus tour, and I did not want to complain because our Tour Operators were wonderful and we were only there for 2 nights.

« Best Western Plus French Quarter Landmark Hotel, New Orleans, LOUISIANA »

Very poor accumulations, very uncomfortable bed, very old room The staff was nice and friendly, but the room not too good. My bed was a small single bed with a very uncomfortable matters , even though I had asked for and reserved a king bed.

    « Quiet comfort »

Good room on the second floor facing the lovely court yard and pool. Rooms revamped and comfortable. Very quiet although it was busy with many tourists coming and going. Breakfast is the standard Best Western, no thrills but tasty and filling. Friendly reception. Pay parking (daily tariff) next to the hotel. Easy walking distance to most of French Quarter or take the trolley to Canal Street.

« Great place to stay »

Great place to stay. The staff were very approachable and willing to answer all questions in a friendly manner. The location gave us easy access to public transportation. It was nice to be across the street from a park. The vibe in the hotel was relaxed & friendly. It was a great place to stay.

    « Hidden Gem...Almost »

We booked the king suite with the jetted tub (because it was the only one of a few rooms available.) So, this place is very charming even though its a "motel", the rooms open to the courtyard, not the parking lot! Our ground floor room was conveniently located by the pool and courtyard, which was nice! Courtyard is very charming and while we didn't use the pool, it seemed like a nice place to cool off. The room, even though the decor is a bit dated, was still charming BUT, it was sooooo humid in the room! When sitting on the sofa, once I got up, my pants felt wet. I could not figure out why it was soooo humid in the room? (The humidity outside was not too high at all.) The room also had a heavy incense smell that was a bit annoying and aggravated by airways. The motel is also very convenient to the French Quarter, which was nice! The parking garage is tight and not really made for large vehicles (which there were plenty!) but we were able to inch our little CRV into a tight parking spot. I would have rated a 4 if the room had not been soooooooo humid!

    « Nola hotel »

Good hotel a short walk from bourbon st. Has a pool that no one seems to use except as a smoking area. Rooms are small and are crammed into 2 or 3 connected buildings. Luckily we got a room in back of the hotel where it was away from street noise. There are many rooms that have windows that look out onto an interior corridor. No body would want one of those! The breakfast was OK. What more can you expect from mass produced scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and make it yourself waffles? The staff was very good, especially the front desk! They were always pleasant and attentiveto the guests. They helped answer questions about the French quarter and make suggestions for sightseeing and dinning.

« Room to small on vacation could have been larger. »

I can't talk enough about the room could have smell better not so old. The place, was just right for getting where you need to go,just wasn't the picture I saw on the internet the elevator look something made for doll just could get myself and luggage on it.

« Me and the guys. »

we arrived after a long drive and the front desk welcome was pleasant, professional and quick. Gave us time to unwind in the lounge before going to our room. Breakfast was good and then a nice dip in the pool.

« Economical yet close to French Quarter attractions »

Good for the budget minded traveler. Walkable distance to restaurants and Jackson Square. Very little open space in courtyard. Small pool. Our room had no area to relax in when it was raining and the hotel does not have a restaurant on site. The only time we had an issue with the maid service it was rectified immediately.

    « Absolutely wonderful!! »

We couldn't have had a better stay! The front desk staff set the tone on our arrival, straightening out some confusion we had with our room. Within 10 minutes of getting into our room, Darlene called to make sure everything was satisfactory and to ask if we needed anything. When we were ready to go out for the evening she cheerfully pointed us in the right direction with a smile. The next morning Tracey was there with another smile to set us up with an incredible tour. Breakfast was hot, plentiful, and delicious. On our return Darlene greeted us like old friends and suggested a couple of ideas. The next morning Tracey again took us in hand, getting us set up for another great tour. When I lost my phone at the hotel it was waiting for me at the desk, and both Tracey and the general manager were concerned that we were hot, tired, and frustrated at not being able to figure out the street cars. They got us straightened out and sent us on our way with some great tips. The room was smaller (similar to a European room) but with everything we needed, including an iron, refrigerator, plenty of power outlets, hairdryer, coffee pot, and an air conditioner that kept the room at the perfect temperature. Beautiful courtyard with a nice pool area, tables, and a fountain with a conversation area. The hotel is on a busy street, but it is an oasis of quiet in an often noisy city. Easy and lovely walk to all the sites in the French Quarter, and easy access to streetcars and city bus lines. Every staff member we met was friendly, helpful, and so pleasant! We will definitely stay here again when we return to New Orleans!

Great place to stay in the city. On the best side of the French Quarter. quite and easy to walk from to any-where in the Quarter.Main street out front, some parking, best local price for parking and you are there in the city.

    « Quaint Hotel »

This is a quaint hotel that has a lot of charm. The ambiance is very inviting and it's nice sitting and relaxing in the courtyard. The location is perfect for partying on Bourbon St or jumping on a trolley to go sightseeing.

« Great hotel, AMAZING stuff!! »

The hotel is located in the French Quarter, within minutes of walking to the Bourbon Street and the rest of the attractions. There is a parking among the street on the other side for $3 an hour (free on Sundays), or you can park at the hotel for $28. The stuff that works in the hotel is amazing, I have never see better customer service in my life, and I have been to many hotels around the world. I don't remember their names but it's the stuff that worked in the lobby on Saturday, April 15 around 4:30pm, one more time, big thank you for your pleasant welcoming. The rooms are very clean and have interesting New Orleans charm, the bathroom is very good as well. We were in the third floor, I used the stairs and the elevator, everything is convenient. The breakfast is between 6:30am and 9:30am, there is variety of food and it totally worth to have in in the morning, instead looking for restaurants around. The pool area is also good although we didn't use the pool. I will definitely recommend the hotel to everyone out there, couple, singles, young people, old people, parents etc, this hotel will take care all of your needs. I will definitely use in the future. The only confusion that I had were the drapes. Can the drapes on the window be closed all the way to make the room completely dark or is not possible? I was not able to do it, it may be me. This didn't affect my vacation.

« Rude attitude of front desk »

The whole overall attitude of the front desk is leave us alone and don't ask me questions. The front desk lady used my address on my ID to sign me up for their rewards program without asking me and when I asked later what it was she told me to call the hotel insisting that everyone is required to sign up. I asked if they had toothpaste and she said it will be in my room and it was not and gave it to me when I came down to the front desk again. I asked for another blanket because it is paper thin and I was cold. She said they did not have any and said she will look for one and bring it but I never heard from her about it again. The front desk had a uncaring fake attitude.

Great hotel and great price. Perfect location to walk to all of the things going on in the French Quarters! Staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the managers helped us find a restaurant and area we wanted to visit by printing out directions and information that we needed! Thank you for your help!

« Great hotel for the price »

Stayed here after winning it on Priceline. It was a great Hotel! They have a pool which we did not see anyone using because of the weather, but looks nice enough when it is warm. The breakfast was surprisingly good, with both cold and hot foods served. The room was clean and decent. Probably the best part of this hotel is a location. It is within walking distance of the French Quarter. We walked to Cafe Du Monde for beignets one morning. We also enjoyed walking around Armstrong park across the street. Would stay here again!

    « Great location »

Was visiting New Orleans for a weekend with my 2 adult daughters. Hotel was in an excellent location - so easy to walk to Jackson Square and the heart of the French Quarter. Breakfast was good, and nice to have it included. Staff was very helpful. Rooms are small, especially for 3 people with 3 suitcases, and beds are Full, not Queen. But would recommend hotel for a short stay.

    5
« Great place to stay »

The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the French Quarter, yet nicely quiet at night. The room was clean and had everything we wanted. Donna at the front desk was great, making you feel welcome and arranging everything from pedi cabs to swamp tours. We would definitely recommend staying here!

At the outside edge of French quarter but walkable to Canal & Bourbon Streets. Rooms are smaller than most rooms today but clean and well equipped. Easy access to Hopon/hopoff buses. Louis Armstrong Park directly across the street had several neat evening event during our 5-day stay. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful

« Great location great people »

The Hotel staff we're incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took care of things for me before I even asked. The breakfast was good with eggs bacon or sausage, a waffle maker, yogurt muffins bagels Etc. The courtyard was nice although it was too cold to swim in the pool in November. Room was clean except for one day when a cleaner left a bag of towels in our room. The location was nice because it was just a few minute walk Into the heart of the French Quarter but far enough away to avoid the noise. Just across the street from Louis Armstrong Park which was also a beautiful place to be.

    « Enjoyable stay »

We stayed three days and our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We walked to all the tourist hot spots and one of the trolley trams ran past the hotel. We were glad that we did not stay closer to Bourbon street as we like to sleep at night.

« Clean, comfortable, and friendly hotel »

Our room was one of the less expensive king bed room. The two windows look out to an indoor hallway,so not much of a view. It was fairly small but well equipped. It was clean but had a slightly musty odor. The continental breakfast was good. The location is great, just a short walk to all the action but in a quit area. Parking was around $28 per day. The staff was excellent! They were all extremely helpful. I would stay again but would upgrade to a garden view which was beautiful and the pool looked inviting, however since it was November it was to cool.

« Nice hotel in excellent location »

This was our first stay in this hotel and it was a very good experience. It is a well maintained older hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Because it is located in the outer part of the quarter it is much quieter than many, yet it is within easy walking distance of the heart of the quarter. Breakfast is more than adequate with the usual choices of waffles, eggs, yogurt, cereal, etc. On our departure day we ordered johnny's po boys delivered to the hotel. We ate our sandwiches on the lovely patio of the hotel while we waited for our taxi. Nice way to end our visit to New Orleans. Highly recommended.

« Great Location ~ Super Friendly On The French Quarter's Quiet Side »

11/11/16-11/14/16 - I traveled here with my daughter for a fun girl's weekend. Arrived at the hotel around 9am and was able to check in to our room right away. The free breakfast runs until 9:30am & we were able to partake. What a great breakfast! Enjoyed it every morning. Hotel is in a perfect quiet location. Armstrong Park is across the street. We visited a Gumbo Jazz Festival there. We did the " Hop on Hop off City Tour Bus" for the 3 days and the bus top #4 is catty corner from the hotel. When visiting Bourbon Street go left outside the hotel and go down a block to St Ann street. Safer and more foot traffic. Hotel has only one Elevator and it is really tiny. There are 3 floors but just use the outside steps. The flight of stairs are so easy to use. The front office staff is so wonderful, friendly, helpful and will book any tourist program you need. The small lobby bar is so affordable - after paying the touristy prices on Bourbon Street. The beds are comfortable and there is a locked safe in the room. In the past I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton (business account) but this time it was on my personal account and - I will and have recommended this hotel to my friends and family! Stay Here!

    « Pictures lie »

First off paid for an Executive room, purchased on hotels.com, big mistake. The picture and the postage stamp room we paid extra for don't exist. When I checked with desk, regarding the reservation, which by the way is on the front of the very very busy hotel street, the clerk at front desk said "You can check out"' to which I replied, okay paid in full with hotels.com, feel free to refund my money. She said sorry nothing I can do. No manager present.....housekeeping was nice as they had to come clean all the fingerprints off bathroom door and said it needed to be painted, sorry. 30.00 a night to park in their garage, which you have to do the parking, and the spaces are so small. Not sure why they are charging, not like they are doing anything other than saying, hey park your own vehicle here ya go. Bathroom so small, you can reach the mirror and the shower if you stand in the center of the bathroom. Bathroom claustrophobic, so tiny, your knees almost hit the for when you sit on the toilet. Rooms are old and decor is very tired.

« Quiet Area And Within Walking Distance of Attractions »

Very quiet area with nice small hotel bar, good breakfast, clean rooms, private courtyard with pool, friendly service and private hotel parking. We have stayed at the Landmark Hotel before in a quiet room facing the courtyard, which is a must when booking at this hotel, but this visit the room was next to the elevator, this is why I only gave 4 stars for this stay, otherwise it would have been 5 stars. The noise of the elevator from 11:30pm to 2:30am continuously woke us up, so when booking a room ask for a room facing the courtyard but not next to the elevator! The hotel was is just a few blocks from Bourbon St. and a nice walk to Jefferson Square and the French Market. One of the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus stops is just a few blocks from the hotel on Rampart, very convenient! The Hotel is right across the street from Louis Armstrong Park which has a very nice park which I highly recommend to take a stroll in during the day.

« Friendly staff, very big palcd »

Stayed here as part of a tour. The location was good, about 5 minutes off Bourbon St, wouldn't walk alone though back - definitely pick a well lit street. Got to the room which was all the way in the back - if you plan on having a lot of luggage or small children make sure you check where your room is from the front. Not a huge deal for me but if you're carrying small children and a lot of luggage it can be a struggle as the hallways are small as well. Otherwise got into the room, reception called shortly after to ask if everything was ok which I thought was extremely nice! Room was clean, two queen sized beds. Great views especially with sunset. Bathroom was clean, towels etc provided. Hung around the pool area for a couple of drinks. There's also a bar that only takes cash. Would definitely recommend this place !

    4
    « Great Location! »

Only a few blocks away from Bourbon St - but far enough away not to be affected by noise - the Best Western Plus French Quarter Landmark Hotel is a terrific location for tourists who want to enjoy the nightlife but are looking for somewhere quiet and comfortable to retreat to so you can be well-rested for daytime sightseeing. A good range of choices for breakfast - and if you're after espresso coffee, there is a little cafe along the same road that you can find what you need to start your day.

    4
« Comfortable and Excellent location »

Right on the edge of the French Quarter, close to all that New Orleans has to offer. The rooms are comfy, and well appointed. Check in was easy and the clerks were able to point out area features for us to see. Although these are older buildings, it has everything to be included in a modern hotel.

    3
« Great location within walking distance of the action »

At first glance, I was apprehensive about staying there. We were part of a bus tour and these were our designated rooms. Our room was very small; you couldn't really move around too much. We had two beds in our room but I can't see how 4 people could ever stay in one room. The bathroom was very small. Obviously we were in the older section as other couples on the same tour were in a newly renovated section and their room was absolutely gorgeous and modern. The establishment has a pool but I never saw anyone in it while we were there. It didn't seem too clean or inviting. On a brighter note, they have a wonderful breakfast every morning and they are within walking distance to Bourbon Street and all other points of interest in the French Quarter.

    4
« Friendly and helpful staff »

This hotel is on the edge of the French Quarter but a short walk to all the action with lots of bars and restaurants near bye. It has a nice pool located in the centre of the forecourt with plenty of loungers and tables around it. The inclusive breakfast was good and plentiful but ends at 9.30am on a weekday with extended times on the weekend. Rooms are clean and comfortable but as is fairly common now, A/C units are located in the rooms and can get very noisy at night. If it's not too warm it would be better to keep it down or turn it off as it can disturb sometimes. Overall a very nice mid range priced hotel for the location. Staff are very friendly and able to arrange the booking of various tourist attractions if required.

    4
« Close To Bourbon St And Quit »

Very nice hotel, great service, good complimentary breakfast, nice small quit bar, pool, fitness room and a relaxing courtyard with a fountain for relaxing. You defiantly want a room facing the courtyard but my only advice is ensure it isn't a room next to the elevator. This was the second time I stayed at the Landmark Hotel, first time was a quit room but this time was a room right next to the elevator which seemed to be used from late night to early morning. The constant noise the elevator made kept waking us up during about a three hour period. Otherwise great friendly hotel. Close enough for walking to Bourbon St, French Market, Jackson Square and the Landmark Hotel is right across the street from Louis Armstrong Park.

« Well placed, but let down by the rooms »

We stayed for three nights as part of a tour of the US. I picked the hotel because of its presence in the French Quarter. In that respect it was within reasonable walking distance of the main attractions, albeit other more modern hotels, outside the Quarter, were nearer those. The rooms were small, dark, with only one chair, and that was needed for a suitcase. No microwave, as is usual in this price range. Reasonably comfortable beds. There was a small open air courtyard with a few tables through which you have to pass to get to and from the breakfast room, this was used by smokers, who also used it during the day, there was therefore an ever present smell of smoking, I am not a reformed smoker, but I do not really enjoy sharing the smoke.A small pool in that area. Parking in the car park at the hotel was expensive at $28 per day, although that was competitive in the French Quarter where it appears the norm.Breakfast include and decent.

    3
« Cheap find in the French Quarter/Historic look »

The room was small but decent and for the price I was satisfied. The elevator is very small and bringing luggage up a pain so travel light if possible. Breakfast was free and was good. There is a pool in the middle of the courtyard and parking is available on location.

« Beautiful courtyard amazing staff »

This hotel was great. We had the best experience with the staff and the courtyard view is amazing. We rented the hot tub suite and the room was great, very clean and spacious. Its not to far of a walk to make it to any destination in the french quarter. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip

    « Good location »

Hotel is on the edge of the French quarter but still only 3 blocks from Bourbon St. Short stroll through the streets. Rooms are tiny however but if you're not in there constantly you'll be fine. Great little breakfast set up and bar. It is a bit out dated but you're paying for the location. Still not a bad place to stay. Hotel is a bit of a maze so ask where your room is at check in.

« Close but not too close... »

We returned back from NO last week and had a great time in the French Quarter. We stayed at the Best Western which was on the edge of the French Quarter and we found it was far enough away to keep the party away from us but that we could easily find our way home even after a long night on Burbon Street. We only took an Uber a couple of times and that was when we decided to leave the French Quarter otherwise everything was within walking distance. The hotel had a complementary breakfast which we utilized twice during our stay. The food was not overly exciting but included eggs and bacon or sausage, muffins, toast, bagel, oatmeal, and cereal. It was filling and free, both a bonus. Our room was good with a comfortable bed and great shower. I loved that it had a fridge and hair dryer. We did not use the pool and I only saw one person in there during our stay. Looking at the pool from the upper levels it looked dirty. Up close the water did not look discolored so it may be that the bottom needed to be repainted but it was questionable enough that we stayed out. We spent some time at the hotel bar and the staff was great. We also thought that the front desk did a great job. We arrived late morning and check in was 4pm so they offered to keep our luggage for us which let us go wander. We also had a late flight home and they offered a late check out and again offered to keep our luggage until our taxi arrived for airport pickup. We did not have our room cleaned due to the time we stayed but the staff always said hi to us in the halls. Overall for the price and location we would definitely stay again.

« Wet Carpet Went it Rains »

Was in New Orleans this past spring and stayed there on the second level. The room was too dark and creepy with heavy, dark upholstery, etc. When it poured rain, the carpet just inside the entry door to the room got quite wet, so the room was a bit musty. As you know, New Orleans can get a lot of rain. It was a nice walking distance for me to the rest of the French Quarter and the lovely old theater where The Book of Mormon was playing at the time. I enjoyed walking in and out of bars with my friends and listening to the various jazz spots. At least, it was a convenient place, but there was construction on the road outside and maybe there still is.

« Good value for money »

One of the best run Best Western Hotels we've stayed at. Extremely well run. Very pleasant staff. Lovely pool/courtyard area. Good breakfast (but no grits!). Convenient to French Quarter, On/Off Bus Depot, Louis Armstrong Park, Rampart trolley line. We've stayed here twice and have been happy all around both times. Will stay here again on our next visit to NOLA.

    « French Quarter Stay »

Great location, nice accomodations, friendly staff, only one negative...having to pay a hefty parking fee everyday at the hotel's parking garage. The courtyard was a beautiful place to relax. A small pool is there, too. Only a couple blocks away from the fun and craziness of Bourbon street. Breakfast included and an in-hotel bar.

    5
« Great Location; Fun, Convenient Stay... »

My family (husband and two sons, ages 18 and 13) booked a cruise which left from a port in New Orleans. We decided to book a few days extra stay in NOLA so that we could see the city. The hotel is located on the outside of the French Quarter so you don't see the party scene (unless you want to) but is conveniently located so that we could easily walk to different sites we wanted to see (parking is scarce and expensive and everything was close by). Louis Armstrong Park is just across the street.

« Perfect Location, Renovated, Quiet! »

Spent two nights with my adult daughter and could not be more pleased. The room appeared to be recently renovated and finishes were good. Lovely full size tiled shower (no bath). Our room was on the U-shaped surround of the courtyard, which was lovely and full of greenery, a fountain, pool and several shaded tables. The breakfast was disappointing with low-end standard fare. But the service in all areas of the hotel was excellent. It's at the upper edge of the French Quarter and everything was easily walkable. The added bonus was the opportunity to see more of the lovely architecture. This is a great place to visit with a group of friends/family. The courtyard affords the opportunity to gather and socialize without everyone piling in a room or hanging in the lobby (both awkward options!). It's a very intimate feeling hotel.

Very comfortable bed and nice size room, Plenty of outlets in the room to plug in various devices. Staff was very friendly. In walking distance of French Quarter attractions, however side streets were poorly lit making it a little uncomfortable walking back to the hotel at night.

    « Not much for the $$$$ »

We chose this hotel because you could self park your car. The rate was $28....a day to park which is not bad for this city. It is a few blocks to Bourbon St. The room was small and dated. The water pressure was poor and the shower had mold in the grout. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « Good Pick »

Love the hotel it was nice. You could tell the building was old but most building are in the French Quarter. Staff was nice and professional. The only downfall was the parking. But I knew that going in and the staff was kind enough to let us know there's was parkin down the street. Would definitely stay again whenever I'm in that part of New Orleans.

« Convenient and had parking »

All in all this was a nice place to stay. They do charge for parking on a daily basis but we didn't mind paying it because we never would have been able to park otherwise. Was within walking distance to most everything and breakfast was OK. Our room was next to an elevator which was noisy, especially when people were coming back to the hotel late at night. It was clean and the staff were very nice.

« Crammed space, good location »

Because of the limited space in your room items will constantly be competing for it. We had a courtyard room and barely had enough space for our luggage (forget about using it for 4 people). The obvious place for bags is either in front of the door (blocking it) or in between the beds. There's hardly room for your toiletries and you have to remove them if you want to make coffee. Also, the a/c is half a foot from a bed, so you have a constant cold flow over your bed. That said, the location is really good: you're just blocks away from all the fun in Bourbon Street; there's a streetcar in front of the building and you are only steps away from the Armstrong park. Breakfast was rather good as well with plenty of eggs and bacon.

    « So beautiful »

Great place to stay, close to French Quarter and hotel has everything one needs, pool, fitness center, breakfast, internet, bar. Our room was decorated so nice and was clean! So so Clean, the front dest people were very helpful with directions to local dining favorites.

    « Mardi Gra »

Took a shuttle to this location. It was right across the street from Armstrong park! walking distance from the cemetery and french quarters!! I loved the location. Far enough from the crazyness but walking distances from coffee shops and food. On our last night we decided to dine in bartender recommended a spot not too far from the hotel they deliver! Even better we had some cocktails while we waited!! The food was amazing!!! Shrimp Po boy jambalaya beans u name it!! I love the patio fountain area! It was a lil pricey but it was worth it!! House keeping was friendly! Front desk aswell! Love NOLA

« Great place for a home base if you are going to explore the Quarter »

We stayed at this hotel for Decadence based on a recommendation and I'm glad we did. The location was great and we walked to the fun bars in the Quarter. They knew we were there for Decadence and had drink specials at the bar and even put up decorations. They are very gay friendly, which is good considering half of the hotel was there for the celebration. We walked home at all hours of the night and felt safe.

« A Quieter Side of the French Quarter »

This is a great hotel from which to enjoy the best of the French Quarter and still get a good night's sleep. There is a very good restaurant, simply called EAT, 2 blks away on Domaine St. Try the Bread Pudding.

    5
« Great Value for the Pric »

I have stayed multiple times because of the free breakfast (saves quite a bit of money) and the affordable rates. Book early and you can save a ton of money. I saved over 400 dollars booking 6 months out.

    « ENJOYED IT »

Killed two birds with one stone. Went to check out some investment opportunities as well-as to tour the city. We had a great time, and we enjoyed the stay. The location was perfect, and the staff was great.

    « Good value »

In New Orleans at the moment and Very impressed with the friendly staff and quality of the room. Especially the great size TV and quality of the channels. Having a lift available for our luggage was great. Good location only three blocks from Bourbon St.

« Still My Favorite New Orleans Hotel »

This is our third visit to the Best Western Landmark Hotel and it is still, in my opinion the best place to stay while visiting the French Quarter. This visit was during the very busy Labor Day Weekend and the hotel was full, but every staff from the ladies at the front desk to the men and women taking care of the breakfast bar or cleaning the rooms, every staff is friendly and genuinely helpful. The location is perfect, just a short walk to anyplace in the FQ, but separated by one block so less congested. Very convenient parking at a reasonable fee, and easy access to a major street so no driving on the narrow streets in the FQ. Really nothing negative to say.

    5
    « Great Location »

I chose this location because it was in the french quarter. It is just a couple of blocks off of bourbon street and just a short walk to the st. charles trolley line to the garden district. The room was clean and had been updated recently. The bed was comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. There is parking at this hotel for a fee. Very friendly and helpful staff.

    « Visited July 2015 »

We loved our room, the breakfast, the ambiance of the courtyard and pool area. If you are shopping all day, plan on taking a pedi-cab back to the hotel, and wear comfortable shoes. Verti Mart delivers DELICIOUS food to your room at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    4
« Just outside the crazy...a nice spot. »

A good hotel, we were made to feel welcome by the reception staff. Pool could have done with a bit of a clean, and the bar could have stayed open a but later, but the rest of the hotel was comfy and clean.

    4
    « French Quarter location »

perfect place to relax. small cosy courtyard with a fountain and a pool. right next to Bourbon Street where everything happends and also walking distance to everything we wanted to see on this trip. the only negative was all the roadwork right outside, but you couldnt hear anything from the room

    4
« Easy access to French Quarter »

This hotel is nice and very comfortable. Easy walk to Bourbon street and all the French Quarter. Pool is small but in a nice garden courtyard. The staff was great with every request. Very convenient parking and biker friendly!

    4
« Good service, good stay »

The staff was great and accommodating. Ty is a great bartender. Good looks and good attitude. The breakfast was nice and we liked the interior rooms because they feel larger than the rooms that overlook the pool.

    3
    « Convenient position »

We stayed here for five nights and the hotel was in a good spot to explore the city. The breakfast was excellent but perhaps could finish a bit later, perhaps 10am. Our air on was very efficient but a bit noisy. Our room at the rear of the property needed pairing as the colour made it a bit dark and the door opened directly onto a walkway. The staff were helpful and the hotel, although busy was quiet.

  • 5
    « Beautiful, peaceful courtyard! »

Unfortunately, we only stayed one night, but the courtyard surrounding the pool was so peaceful and serene. The ambiance was breath-taking! Truly, this amenity is a hidden gem of this property. The only thing missing was music playing in the background.

    3
« Convenient Hotel in the Quarter »

Hotel is situated just to the edge of the quarter and away from the noise along Bourbon St. Hotel was clean but definitely needs upgrading. Breakfast was good and the staff is very friendly. Way overpriced parking (public parking rates for paying guests!) if you drive a car and no other parking options nearby. This was not mentioned at the time of booking with a third party online booking service.

    5
« Small but clean and lovely »

On the edge of the French Quarter and directly across from Armstrong Park this is a very lovely little place. Don't be afraid it's too much of a walk, it's not. We walked to the river and back probably 3 times a day. Where ever you stay in the French Quarter there will be walking. The front desk was always pleasant and booked all our tours for us. Nice little continental breakfast, nice court yard, nice pool, and nice price.

    5
    « Couldn't ask for more »

Staff were accommodating to switch our room from 2xdbl to a super king. Handy to French Quarter attractions. Breakfast is good. Room features a fridge and proper shower. Free wifi works well. Pretty building.

    « Recommending to friends »

Great hotel in the French Quarter. This was our first visit to New Orleans. We were welcomed by amazing jovial staff who were full of excellent suggestions for places to eat and visit. The best thing we did was leave our vehicle parked. (There is a daily cost for this.) We were able to walk to Jackson Square and explore the French quarter. What fun. Our room was clean and the air conditioning was quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and relaxing, a great way to start our day. We loved this older hotel and look forward to coming again.

    3
    « Good Location »

Well placed to visit and explore New Orleans. It is easy to walk the French quarter taking in the local architecture. This hotel has a shabby interior in desperate need of cheering up. Pool and courtyard area are very nice. Parking is an issue with this hotel. Parking is limited and if you go out in your car there is a chance you won't have a parking spot when you get back.

    4
« Nice hotel in French quarters »

Nice clean hotel in French quarter area - about 10 min walk to Jackson square. There is train car line being built on rampart street which will be great addition once finished. There is $28.75 cost for self parking. The only complaints were that the toilet paper holder is too far (opposite wall) from toilet so you need to plan ahead or get off to reach it! The beds are full size (not queen) FYI if you need bigger beds...

    4
« I mean it is Best Western... »

The front desk staff was amazing and very accommodating. There is free Wi-Fi and breakfast!! The free breakfast comes in handy when you've had a little too much fun the night before. Overall, it's the Best Western and it served its purpose. The room was clean, staff was nice, food was good, and the location is very convenient.

    3
    « Enjoyed our stay! »

Older hotel with a "smell". Mainly noticed in the lobby area. I have to say that the staff was great and the breakfast was really good. Just a basic older hotel but we really enjoyed our stay. We were able to walk most places.

    5
« Great location and excellent service »

We stayed here for 2 nights in July. Staff were super friendly on arrival and very helpful with restaurant and tour recommendations. Our room on the second floor overlooking the courtyard and pool was a bit dark (as were most of our Best Western hotel rooms) and the décor could do with some refreshing but it was comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed talking to the hotel manager who was running the bar that evening. Breakfast both mornings was excellent - a good variety of options and the staff were vigilant in replacing and replenishing items. The best scrambled eggs of our entire 3 week holiday! You do have to pay for parking but after all it s the French Quarter! All in all a great stay.

  • 4
    « Great Location »

Very close to Bourbon St - maybe 5 min walk. Room was nice although a bit small ( older hotel ). Do not try to get into BF early - 6:30 Sharp!! Only stayed 1 night so didn't utilize hotel for any tours etc. Parking is limited and have to pay about $25 on top of your room. Cars are packed into gated, covered area and cars are blocked from exit - attendance starts about 6:15am to begin to move cars. Would stay again if in NO.

    4
    « Well kept rooms »

The outside seemed so so with road construction and noise. Armstrong Park right across the street - all fenced in and eerie looking - was our first exposure to this hotel. However, the staff were great and the rooms were updated and very comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate and filling. Our family of 4 felt safe and comfortable. Oh, and also walking distance to all the sights in the French Quarter

    4
« Nice room for the money »

I didn't find anything wrong with the hotel. The staff was nice and very helpful. The room was cleaned well everyday. It was in walking distance of the French Quarter. The breakfast was OK but no complaints about it. The room wasn't very big but it was just my wife and I and we were only in the room to sleep and shower.

    5
« Value for money, clean and Safe. Brilliant Location »

It lived up to our expectation of a Best Western Hotel Its located in the French Quarter and is very very central. The river is about 14 minutes walk, Burbon Street is literally 5 minutes. We did all that we had to do from here. As it was very hot outside we would visit a place then come back for a rest and then venture out again. Even though its so close to all the action it was far enough for a peaceful nights sleep. The breakfast was fresh English breakfast and the staff was extremely warm, friendly and lovely. We were a family of 4 who opted to stay in a single large room. Cost (incl breakfast) was $ 740 for 4 nights. Adequate parking for a fee. Will recommend this for family folks who require a no frills place. Very safe for one with two young daughters. They have a decent pool which is welcome in the terrible heat. The housekeeping staff were very warm and made us feel at home.

    4
« Good hotel but not a good value for the money »

Good location, friendly staff, good breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking is atrocious. Be prepared to either double (or triple) park in their tiny lot, or park on the street. My real complaint is that, while I fully understand high season and high demand can drive up rates, this was not a $250 per night hotel. In any other circumstance this would be $100 less per night for a comparable hotel at another time/place.

    5
« Great room, service and perfect breakfast with reasonable rates. »

Just took my family travel NOLA. Stayed at BW for one night. The room is very good and the breakfast is very good. My family enjoyed the trip Just 10 minutes away to French market, jeffson squar and bourbon street.

    5
    « Amazing BW Courtyard »

We arrived late at night and were disapointed by the "conditions" of the city (construction, deterioration). The BW was bright and welcoming. The open courtyard was incredible with the fountain and pool. It is an oasis. The room was small, but that was expected in an older city.

    3
« Friendly helpful staff, tired hotel , great setting. »

Staff in this place are great, the place itself is very tired and needs a refurb. Great location for exploring the French quarter. Breakfast is great with amazing waffles you cook yourself. Good coffee and cold water on tap and complimentary all day really help

    5
« Great Time and Location! »

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was great and the hotel is really nice. would recommend this best western to anyone. Nice size TV and courtyard and pool area are nice. The bar is nice and the people are great and very helpful.

« Great Hotel in the French Quarters »

The people working there were very nice and friendly first off!! They were very informative and helpful with us it being our first trip to New Orleans. I wasn't really sure what to expect when we headed up to our room but when we opened the door it was more than what i expected. The room was very, very clean and up to date. The room was spacious enough for all 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teen girls). We had no problems getting fresh towels and the other essentials we needed. The room had a fridge but no microwave but you may could have ask for one. The breakfast that was included with our stay was very good also. The only bad thing at this hotel was parking which is NOT included in the stay! You have to pay $28.25 for each day that you will be parking at their facility and they do a security deposit on it till you check out. For example we prepaid online for our room which was $321.56 when we got to the room to pay for 3 days of parking my card was charged $184.75 but when we checked out it was corrected so it ended up being $84.75 to park at the hotel for 3 days. Just letting everyone know because we wasn't told about that security deposit beforehand. Also the parking lot doesn't have to much room either. We was driving a Sonata and had a very hard time parking it cause of the tight squeeze. Another thing with the parking is that since there is limited parking spots cars get pulled in wherever they can fit so you may get blocked in with more cars than just one. However the people at the front desk do take care of that if it happens. So if you get blocked in all you do is tell the front desk and they have all the keys to the cars that are doubled parked so they move them for you to get out which we only run into this problem 2 times since most of the time we walked since it was so close to everything(maybe 2 blocks from Bourbon Street). Also you may want to note the hotel is NOT responsible for any theft of damage of your car so if it gets scratched or whatever its on you. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

    4
« Good spot for the price »

This hotel is on the edge of the French Quarter where they are installing new trolley lines so it was challenging to drive there. Parking anywhere in NO is difficult and pricey. We paid $25 a day to park at the hotel. The air conditioner was loud and went on and off all night. The hot breakfast was terrific. Eggs, sausage, toast, yogurt, waffle, juice, and many breads. The bar in the lobby is fun in the late afternoon, but the bartender was sick one day and didn't show up. We went down the street to a lovely specialty bar. There is only one restaurant close to the hotel and it was closed. We used the pedi cabs to get to and from the French Quarter spots which are about twice as expensive as regular cabs. Front desk called a cab for us.

    5
    « Happy traveler »

Nice visit to New Orleans. Everyone at this Best Western was great. Front desk as well as bartender (we weren't ordering drinks, just asking questions) answered all our questions, gave us good advice and the room was wonderful. Would stay here again.

    2
    « Don't believe the hype!!!! »

Pictures on website are deceiving. Driving on the street where the hotel is located was horrible due to massive road construction projects. Rooms are small and dated. Wifi connection was horrible in the rooms. Every time the AC unit turned on and off it sounded like a lawnmower. Very noisy. Television went out several times. We were scared to turn it off. Let's not forget the water pressure in the rooms. There was NO pressure, just a trickle. Took forever to do anything using water. The showerhead needs to be cleaned to allow the water to actually come out. Took forever to rinse off. The AC unit in one of our rooms was leaking and soaked the carpet. They placed a loud fan in the room to dry the carpet. The best thing about our stay was the hotel staff. They were nice and very helpful.

« Good hotel, good location »

I liked the layout of this hotel, with room doors facing the courtyard. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was provided and had a good choice. The location is excellent, just opposite Louis Armstrong park and a 5 minute walk to Bourbon Street. I would recommend this hotel to stay in.

    5
« nice hotel in good location »

my wife & I checked into the hotel in the morning, we were warmly greeted by Tracy the receptionist who quickly checked us in, on entering the room we were pleasantly surprised, it appeared very clean & modern, a very big bed, nice air conditioning which is essential, the room was spacious & had a nice bathroom. there is a nice bar in the hotel with very friendly barman, & also free wifi throughout, the breakfast, egg, bacon, tomatoes, toast or cereals with yogurt & fruit was nice, all the staff took time to say hello & ask if everything was ok. there is a few quiet bars around the hotel, but it is only a short walk to Bourbon street where you will be spoilt for choice. overall for the money we paid we were very satisfied.

    5
« Nice Place to Stay »

Our family enjoyed staying the night here. It was nicely decorated and clean. The view of the courtyard was absolutely beautiful. My teenage stepsons loved the salt water pool. It was reasonable priced and within walking distance of Bourbon Street.

« Great hotel in nice location »

We stayed over night on this hotel and can say nothing bad about it. Yes there is construction going on outside the front of it. However, we stayed in the back of the hotel and noise wasn't an issue. The hotel is on a great location. It is located on the "edge" of the French Quarter - close enough to be near all of the 'action' but far enough away to keep things quiet. Breakfast was adequate and plentiful. Staff was outstanding.

    3
« Average Hotel in a Good Location »

It was well situated on the edge of the French Quarter with bars and restaurants nearby. However the staff were not as friendly and helpful as many smaller hotels in the US. The hotel was classed as a Best Western Plus but the staff, service and breakfast were no better than much cheaper standard Best Western hotels. Also the hotel room and bathroom were smaller than average. Parking was expensive at $28 per day including tax,

« First visit to NOLA »

Lots of construction going on & whilst you don't hear it - surroundings don't look great Lots of young people take over pool area Hotel quiet at night though DONT go near Bourbon Street- it stinks Frenchman Street better good music & garden district classy with nice bars Streetcar only $3 and covers all good areas . So surprised & disappointed with how dirty new orleans is!!!??

    « ONe negative only »

Perfect location, very nice front desk staff and maid service.Nice pool side for drinks etc.Very reasonable tariff.Walk to pier, Bourbon St.Tours arranged promptly. The negative was the pompous polariser, patrick the bartender.Self opinionated, rude, injecting himself into bar customers conversation without invitation and giving his political views without asking. Not suited for the job, maybe would be ok in another position away from direct customer contact.Perhaps cleaning or yard work?

    4
    « Good location »

Overall I was happy with the hotel. The look of the hotel was very New Orleans. The rooms were on the small side but were clean and nicely kept. Loved that there was parking even though we had to pay for it. Breakfast was good, everything we needed. Bourbon street was an easy walk from the hotel.

    4
« Fun Stay in NO! »

We were in for a long weekend to our favorite City. cost was a concern so I researched the internet for a reasonably priced hotel in or around the French Quarter. I stumbled across this hotel which was priced nicely and rated highly. I was not disappointed as there was nothing negative to really say about our stay here at the Best Western. It was directly across the street from the Zydeco Festival at Armstrong Park which was a fortunate happenstance. Far enough away from the craziness of Bourbon Street and Frenchman Street yet still a fairly short walk for all the fun. Highly recommend!

    4
« Great stay with a rustic feeling. »

I stayed at this hotel and was very satisfied. The outdoor of the building is really old but being the french quarter, it should look that way. The inside of the room was really nice for an old building. All the amenities were working. The breakfast buffet was really good. Staff at hotel were very professional.

    4
« Best Western New Orleans »

Great friendly informative staff! Bar staff was great! Pool was ok. Hard to maintain with all the trees nearby. Street construction in the front is a bummer! Parking charge was a little steep, but I only used it one night. Proximity to Bourbon Street was good.

    2
    « Ok stay »

We just finished a three day stay at the Best Western and overall were disappointed with the stay. The price was overly expensive for what you got and they add additional tax not included in the original price. They charge each vehicle between $20-30 for parking daily. The rooms were small, the beds were not fit to sleep two people each and they weren't serviced on a daily basis. The TV didn't work properly either. The hotel is smack bang in the middle of road works for the new street which won't be finished for a while making it quite noisy and dirty. The location was ok to the French quarter but there were much nicer and cheaper hotels available after looking up on the Internet the day we arrived. The pool was also full of leaves and dirt. The only saving grace was the free breakfast in the morning.

    5
    « Hotel »

This is a great property. I felt safe and at home. The whole staff is friendly and always have smiles and kind words. It was a little pricy for a Sunday Night, but we were just passing through. When I go for an extended stay I will go on a week night for sure. Breakfast was great and the beds were comfy. The room was a little dusty - but they have road construction right down below. (The road construction was not a bother to our stay) The quarter is within walking distance and a nice walk at that. We did not have time to walk to the river.

    « Anniversary weekend!!! »

We love this hotel is right in the middle of everything right where you need to be the workers are very friendly the breakfast was good and it's a great place just to chill and relax after a long day of shopping and walking and they let us have our baby with us which is a dog and we were very very happy with this place

    4
« Very clean and great location close to quarter »

Very nice staff and great full breakfast. Easy to walk to french quarter and river. Good value. Only complaint is a very squeaky door and had a bit of trouble regulating air conditioner. Worked great but would get so cold. Fixed the door as soon as I asked.

    « Nice stay »

We stayed almost a week in a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the courtyard. The room was clean and large enough for us with a big shower. Breakfast had a good selection and the courtyard was a pleasant spot to relax between excursions. Location is right on the edge of the French Quarter, everything is within walking distance (if you don't mind walking). I'm so glad we stayed in the charming French Quarter and not out in the Business District to save a couple dollars. The only complaint is the "taxi" they called for us in the early morning to go to the airport did not seem legit. An unmarked van "not expecting to take a credit card". A little sketchy for 3:00 am. Call for your own transportation, all taxis are marked as such and have to take credit cards.

« Great place in a quiet part of the French Quarter »

This historical hotel, once the site of an all girls school, is a charming and comfortable place to stay in a quiet part of the French Quarter. Located across from Louis Armstrong Park, it is conveniently located yet far enough removed from the action that you can enjoy a restful stay without feeling like you are missing any of the fun. The rooms are appointed with modern conveniences yet are styled in a way that reminds you of the Era when this building first stood. Covered parking and a welcome pool with a lovely courtyard are some benefits offered to guests, as well as a full, hot breakfast and a bar/lounge area off of the beautiful lobby. Hotel staff are knowledgeable and courteous and offer a concierge type service when booking tours and making reservations.

    5
    « Welcome Home Service »

Staff were friendly and accomodating. Anything we needed they were of assistance. They made you feel like a part of their family. Would highly recommend this hotel. The only thing missing was a restaurant, but there are plenty within walking distance.

« Great for the price »

This place was absolutely great for the price! At check in Ms. Darlene was so kind and offered suggestions because we just came down here on a whim. She got us on a tour for the next morning and made the check in process go really smooth. Cute little entry way and bar, good for before going out. Bourbon Street is just a quick walk down the street (only like a block or two) and really easy to get to. I give it a 4 star because it could be updated and the bathroom was a little sketchy on the cleanliness but overall this is a great place to stay and we will definitely stay here again.

« Very Good even with rollaway bed issue »

Overall, me and my two travel companions enjoyed our stay. It's nothing fancy but it does the trick and has a lovely courtyard, We were comfortable and took advantage of the pool, lounge/bar, internet, and complimentary breakfast (which was very good). We faced the courtyard so the noise level was low. North Rampart (hotel street) is full of construction right now and looks awful - I'm happy we didn't have to deal with that much. During check-in we were initially refused a rollaway bed even though it is offered when booking and I was assured it was possible (but not guaranteed). I advise people staying that need one to call the hotel (not the BW 1-800 number) to verify. I dealt with the 1-800 number and they told me that rollaway beds aren't guaranteed but that is based on availability and not whether it actually fits in the room. The front desk informed me during check-on that a rollaway fits in King-bed room but not a room with two double-beds (which we reserved). After some discussion with the front desk, we were accommodated and did get the rollaway requested - but it was worrisome for a couple of minutes there. I sincerely appreciate the staff's willingness to give us the rollaway as 6 days sharing a double with my brother or best friend would've been extremely uncomfortable and would've significantly affected my trip. Overall the staff were friendly and great.

« An outstanding hotel that truly cares for it guests! »

This hotel showed us what outstanding customer service is all about. The Manager on Duty, Mr. Glen Johnson went out of his way to guide us to his hotel (about 20 minutes on the phone with my wife) guiding us through all the detours due to construction. He assisted us in suggesting nearby eating options which proved to be excellent. He was very caring in making sure the breakfast items were constantly replenished. We will not only return to this hotel the next time we're in the area but we will surely go out of our way to recommend this awesomely ran hotel to our family & friends!

    5
« Great place to stay »

This place was clean. Everything worked. Staff was friendly. Close to everything in French Quarter, and right across the street from Louis Armstrong Park. You won't have to drive anywhere, and you will be able to experience much of New Orleans.

    5
« Great place that is close, but not too close to the action »

Great place to stay that was only a short walk to everything. Once they have the trolley lines done in front of the hotel it will be even easier. The room was clean and big enough for us. We enjoyed that breakfast was included, definitely was a deciding factor in choosing a hotel. All of the staff were pleasant and the bar tender was friendly. We had a great time!

This hotel is situated on the edge of the French quarter so it is a nice quiet place to return to after the noise and chaos of Bourbon Street, although it's only about a 10-minute walk away. I shared a fairly spacious room with my girlfriend on the second floor. It was very comfortable and there was a small fridge in the room so it was simple to have a cool drink on hand at all times, whether it was water or beer. Breakfast was included with the price of the room and there was a really nice variety of bacon or andouille sausage, eggs, toast, cereal or a make-your own-waffle station every morning. The one thing I might mention was that there was only tinned fruit cocktail available, and being as we were in the south, a fresh fruit salad would have been wonderful. A small courtyard area with a pool was definitely appreciated as well.

    « A great place to stay! »

We were very impressed with the friendly& helpful front desk staff, relaxed atmosphere, and clean updated rooms. The courtyard and pool area were a wonderful place to relax and recharge after a long day exploring the city and surrounding area. The French Quarter was easily within walking distance and the park across the street beautiful.

« Close to Bourbon St »

I have stayed here several times over the years. Conveniently located to Bourbon St,, good breakfast, nice pool and friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean, décor slightly dated though. Fitness facility ok, some treadmills and a universal weight machine. Nice bar on premise too.

« Attended a wedding in the French Quarter »

We thoroughly enjoyed everything at this hotel. The staff are so helpful and friendly-everything from check-in/front desk staff to breakfast staff. Always polite and courteous. It is walking distance to everything, we even walked over to the Warehouse District to go to the WW II Museum. Our room faced Armstrong Park, the street car line is under construction, but it only woke us up one out of the six mornings we stayed at the hotel. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms could use updating but it was fine. The only reason I reduced my review to four stars was due to the very poor water pressure, showers took a long time, but I was even able to wash my long hair and get it clean. We just had to allot more time, the temperature was fine. We walked to the hotel every night at various times and felt safe, there were always others out and about. I would not walk alone after dark anywhere in the French Quarter, just too many out if control folks out there. I recommend this hotel, it is a great deal.

Very nice hotel on edge of French Quarter You can walk to anywhere you want to go. Has parking available and close to restaurants. Staff is very nice and helpful and do a good job making your stay all it can be.

« Near to French quarter but need some walking »

The hotel has comfortable rooms, a good pool, and is a walking distance far from bourbon street... I didnt like the breakfast, so I preffered to buy some things to eat on my room. It is right in front of the Louis Armstrong park, easy to go.

« Ideal for our purposes »

An excellent buffet breakfast is provided. The overall environment is pleasant. The wi-fi is free and trouble-free. It is easy walking (from this spot on the edge of The French Quarter) to all that matters if you are a jazz fan.

« If the French quarter is where you want to be this hotel is ideal »

The hotel is as you would expect from Best Western - clean - friendly - very comfortable and yet individual. Our room was on the first floor and was very comfortable with a big comfy bed. There was a coffee maker in the room but if you don't drink coffee it is of no use - a kettle to make a cup of tea would have helped. Breakfast was a good choice of continental items and always kept fresh - the cleanliness is of a high standard and the staff ever helpful. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to Bourbon street and about 10 minutes to Freshman or Canal street so very well located

« Excellent stay at the top of the French Quarter »

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we walked through the front doors. We stayed for 4 nights, and couldn't have asked for a better location. The hotel is at the top of the quarter across from Armstrong Park... just five short blocks walk from Bourbon Street. Quick taxi/Uber service from hotel to anywhere you want to go. Breakfast was hot, and plentiful. Staff kept tables cleaned quickly for more guests to dine. Rooms were clean and big enough for three adults to not feel cramped at all. Bartender Ty was fun and made one heck of a Bloody Mary... and we will remember his meat pie next time we visit! Darlene at the front desk was an amazing help to us several times throughout our stay. The courtyard was a nice place to sit and relax and take a dip when it was super hot in the afternoon. Overall, I'd choose this hotel over and over again! Thanks BW for a great stay!

    « Excellent! »

Perfect location if you want explore French quarter. The personal is nice and helpful, can give you advice how and where spend time, make reservations and tours. Rooms are clean. Very reasonable price, I have very good experience, will came back again

    « Not bad! »

The hotel overall was pretty good!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size for two and stayed mostly quiet. I was afraid the room would smell as musty as the lobby but was pleasantly surprised that it didn't. The courtyard is gorgeous and great place to hang out at night if your staying in. The location of the hotel was pretty good, close to everything but the can be pretty shady at night. My only real complaint really is the bed. We had two double beds and I wish the pillows were a bit bigger and nicer, and the mattress a bit more comfy, it was pretty hard.

    « Post cruise »

Stay here for 3 nights after a cruise. Good location on edge of the French quater. Breakfast was good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We arrived before checkin time and they stored the luggage for us and gave us WiFi access. The lift was outside our door and was in need of some grease as the door was very noisy. When I mention it on day 2 they moved us to the rear of the building which was very peaceful and they had the lift fixed by lunchtime. Great place to stay and would stay here again.

« Old charm hotel across from Louis Armstrong Park »

Great location and great service...Beautiful courtyard with a pool, fountain, and serene sitting areas..Daily breakfast with traditional eggs, sausages, cereals, oatmeal etc. We stayed there 4 nights and were feeling at home.. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff, swift taxi services offered ( if required).. Hotel is older but do not get taken aback by that: this is New Orleans and this hotel fits right in..It is romantic and slightly decadent.. If you are looking for top notch modernity, you are in a wrong city...Surrounding area is safe to walk at night just be aware of your surroundings and do not walk alone ( usual principles of walking at night in many other cities in the world)...

« Great location & even better service »

A quaint little motel with loads of character. Great location-can walk anywhere in French Quarter or downtown at a pinch. Friendly & helpful staff went above & beyond-good advice about where to go & what to do in NOLA (& not where to go). Buffet breakfast was excellent & barman excelled with preparing late night drinks. Special mention to the staff/management who have also gone above & beyond to track down a stray laptop computer & return it halfway around the world. Love your work guys-we won't stay anywhere else if/when we come back to New Orleans.

« Best Western Plus on Rampart - Northern most area of the quarter »

Nice hotel. Clean. Has a nice courtyard which is quiet. Pool could use an upgrade and maybe a hot tub. Free Continental breakfast form 6-9am is fabulous. Great variety and hot food available. Scrambled eggs and either sausage or bacon every morning. Area at night fall gets a little dicey and you should be very aware of your surroundings. Neighboring bars are very friendly. Armstrong Park is right across the street and is beautifully decorated with statues and history. Again, not recommended at night. Three blocks off Bourbon makes it a great location and just far enough from the loud music and crowd noise each night brings.

    « Issues with smoking »

Nice, convenient hotel. Staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. The only problem was that New Orleans law allows guests to smoke in the courtyard around the pool. This is NON SMOKING hotel but their silly law allows guests to smoke around the pool in the center courtyard without any regard to other guests. All the rooms circle and open into this courtyard and the smoke wafts up into your room even with the door closed. It comes in with the air conditioning. Some guests also had to be reported for being very loud in the courtyard after quiet hour. Our stay was good except for the smoking issue. The laws should be changed. Smokers should smoke out in the public street, not hotel property!

« Best Western St. Christopher »

The staff was friendly! Especially Malcom who was our concierge! Always a smile for you and took the time to visit. Excellent service! You were welcome there and you never felt like you were just a job to them. Rooms were simple and clean. Nice breakfast. Very short walk to the Quarter. 1/2 block from the street cars if you want to get around outside the Quarter.

« Great Location for Great Hotel »

Located conveniently in the French Quarter, you are just a hop, skip and a jump away from the best time of your life. A quaint little hotel with a private courtyard and pool, it has a serene environment inside without removing you from the hustle and bustle outside. The rooms were large and very clean, the staff is very accommodating, you get a hot breakfast every day of the week, and as usual, the price is highly competitive. Thank you, Best Western. When I'm back in New Orleans, you are my hotel of choice!

    « A Very Pleasant Stay »

This Hotel is a block from the French Quarter. We were able to walk or take a streetcar almost everywhere we went, even though the Rampart Street line was closed for repairs. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The room was pleasant and very clean. They served a real breakfast with a variety of hot and cold items. One minor problem and one caution: The air conditioner blows directly on the bed, so that you tend to be fairly cold when it is on and a bit warm when it cycles off. And there is a charge for parking that is not clearly stated in the hotel description. On the other hand, all hotels in or near charge for parking, and this one's parking is on-site. As for the charge, the terrific breakfast is more than adequate compensation.

« great hotel in a great city »

In walking distance of Jazz fest. I wish we would have spent more time. The breakfast was very nice, staff was diligent in keeping eating area clean. The front desk staff was very helpful in helping us with directions. Will stay there again.

    4
« Great location, nice property »

There aren't many choices for a full-service hotel in the French Quarter, so the Best Western deserves a look. Though located in the corner of the Quarter, nothing in the neighborhood is very far away. The hotel is the sort of nice, clean property you'd expect in the budget business travel category. Nothing is spectacular, but everything is fine. It's an old building, but everything in the French Quarter is old. The staff is very nice, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is fine, and the bar is staffed. So it's a great choice if location is important, with no real downside.

    4
    « situation very goog »

We like the situation of this hotel. We can walk from the hotel to Bourbon street. The room we clean, but we have to go to the front desk to have coffee in the room. No desk to write, and only 1 chair in the room

« Preferred location, comfy bed & room »

Easy to walk everywhere in the French Quarter from this hotel, including Basin Street Station where the tour bus stops. Also easy to walk to JazzFest fairgrounds. They have a tasty breakfast. We liked the room's decor, supportive bed, powerful hair dryer, lovely decor, clear TV picture, and adjustable A/C. Brought our own pillows, though. We also liked the secured parking area. Nearly 40 paces from the hotel is MeauxBar, one of the best places we ate during our entire stay.

« Jazz Fest- Family Style »

My family and I stayed here for a weekend while attending jazz fest. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The courtyard was a beautiful way to unwind each morning for breakfast and each evening after a big day in the city. The room was clean and had a view of Louis Armstrong Park which is located across the street. The hotel is located in a quiet area of French quarter yet just a few blocks from Bourbon Street. This was a great place to stay with our children and felt safe and relaxed. Thanks for making our first trip to New Orleans a treasured family experience.

« Great location and rooms »

This hotel has a great location just on the edge of the French Quarter making a lot of the main attractions within walking distance. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, clean bathrooms and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good too. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

« Great location close to Bourbon Street - only 3 blocks away »

We arrived early and our room was not ready but we parked our car in their parking garage and took off sightseeing. When we got back our room was ready and it was very comfortable and nicely appointed. The courtyard and pool area was nice - very French Quarter look. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was good. Would definitely stay here again. The only problem we had was getting there. They are putting in Street Car tracks and there are detours so be prepared.

    « Amazing Customer Service! »

On vacation in New Orleans, my friends with us stayed at this hotel on Rampart St. Although we were not able to book a room here, the staff was still helpful to us with site seeing etc. Lawrentay and Darlene at the desk were the best! They informed us and directed us to the best deals! So friendly and smiling all they time. Just plain regular folks that we enjoyed. I thank them for all they did.

    « Awesome stay »

I would highly recommend this hotel. The location was very convenient and safe. The breakfast that is included was excellent and kept well stocked. The staff go above and beyond to help make all guests stay more enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable..

    « Overall Great Experience »

Location was great, room was client, staff was helpful, especially the gentleman who checked us in! He was AMAZING. Staff was very informative when I asked questions. Only complaints are: pool was ICE cold so we were not able to swim at all and excessive chain smoking guests are allowed to smoke in the courtyard completing hindering mine and my children's ability to enjoy the courtyard as well. Very disappointed that smoking is allowed in the courtyard where children are.

« Friendly staff, great location »

I've stayed at this hotel several times in New Orleans and it is always the first place I look for reservations. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is amazing. They know your name after check in and regularly communicate with you throughout your stay. It's a wonderful, quiet location and just a few steps to the French Quarter or Harrah's Casino.

« poor billing at check in and check out »

Booked the room through Best Western at one price and receipt said it was paid in full =, once we checked in, staff said the room was not paid and was at a higher price than stated on receipt. Was told parking was 9.00 a night and charged 28.00 a nght at check in. On check out they wanted us to pay the parking of 28.00 a night again. We feel this was a scam. Will not stay in this Best Western again

« Nice stay on the edge of the french quarter »

Comfortable, quiet, updated rooms and an absolutely terrific breakfast. Employees are pleasant, courteous and helpful. There is not a large selection of restaurants close by but the heart of the quarter is only a few blocks away. Room could have been cleaned a little better and the AC/heating unit was on the noisy side. Like alot of the french quarter, the area is a little run down but all in all we felt safe and the NOLA folks are friendly and helpful.

« Nice hotel in great location. »

We found this an ideal location for exploring the French quarter, and it is situated opposite the Louis Armstrong Park. Nice rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff. Only negative was that we returned one day to find that the housekeeper hadn't visited, so our beds were still not made. Arrive early if you want one of the limited parking spaces provided (extra cost).

    4
« Great Location great staff comfortable sleep »

We arrived after midnight and the man on the front desk was very friendly and happy to help us. The room we had was a good size and the bed was comfortable to sleep on but we were close to an ice machine so we could here people going past a lot. the pool looked good although we didn't use it and the breakfast was hot and tasty. The location of this hotel meant we were only a 5 min walk from bourbon street and about a 78-10 min walk from the french market and other great sights.

« On The Edge Of The Quarter »

I meant to review this a while back. At the time of travel there were a lot of road works making the whole street where the hotel entrance was a complete mess. It is situated kind of on the perimeter of the french quarter. The hotel in general was adequate with a nice court yard and pool, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. With regards to my room,it had no access to natural daylight it always seemed dark and depressing, It however was very clean. The hotel also offered a nice breakfast included in the rate. I once walked from the hotel to Canal street at 10am in the morning, instead of walking through the french quarter to get there I turned left and walked along the perimeter of the quarter. As I was walking past a gas station all of a sudden a mass gang brawl erupted. I mention this an example of how unsafe it felt if you happened to walk the wrong way out of the hotel (I would advise to enter the quarter as quick as possible). Other than this incident my stay was OK.

    5
« Close to the quarter and the stores. Great area to walk from. »

Only problem is the construction in front of the hotel but it did not bother me because I was either walking or taking a taxi. I enjoyed walking each morning and taking pictures of the nearby houses. Taxi's were easy to catch.

    5
    « Beautiful and convenient. »

This hotel is beautiful, arranged around a lovely central courtyard. The rooms are quite small, but nicely decorated and spotless. Tracy and everyone at the front desk were very helpful. The location was wonderful. Easy walking to anything in the French Quarter, and across the street from Louis Armstrong Park. Also withing walking distance is the Backstreet Cultural Museum, a quirky little nugget of Mardi Gras Indians history and culture. There is currently construction on Rampart in front of the hotel, which is unsightly, but not loud. They are extending the streetcar line to Rampart, which will make this hotel even more conveniently located. We will be back!

    5
    « Very pleased »

Last minute trip to NO and couldn't get reservations where we normally do. Wasn't to sure about the location of this place but took a chance. We couldn't have been more pleased. It is a couple of blocks further from some spots but ended up being more peaceful. They have a nice large courtyard where you can have a drink and relax. Rooms were large and very clean. There was a good breakfast. Will definitely go back.

    3
« Friendly Staff, Disappointing Stay »

The staff were very nice and friendly. The courtyard was lovely but smoking was allowed so we could not enjoy it. The pool needs a good cleaning and smoking was allowed. Very noisy nights in courtyard

« Great property within walking distance to the French Quarter »

A friend and I stayed at this property for the Rock and Roll New Orleans Marathon and decided to make a weekend out if it. The hotel is on a busy street, but if you get a courtyard facing room you don't really hear anything. The property is walking distance to the French Quarter and Louis Armstrong Park. The room was clean as was the hotel. The breakfast was a standard breakfast - but what one me over is that they served breakfast at 5am for all of the runners (this was not expected but awesome). The staff was always nice, and went out of their way to make one feel comfortable. The property itself is quiet (meaning no loud party people). Overall, highly recommend this hotel.

« Reasonable Hotel in the French Quarter »

Staff was helpful & very friendly. Room was clean & comfortable. Noticed that rooms were quiet. Morning breakfast was included with room & you certainly would not go hungry. This was a nice convenience. Proximity to Royal St. & Canal was reasonable. Overall, while not a posh Hotel, it was very adequate!

    4
« Nice hotel for a family stay »

This hotel is close enough to the French Quarter and Jackson Square to walk, and has several nice restaurants within walking distance. Our room faced over the street, and the décor was a bit dated, and the room small, but I think that's typical of NOLA. We were attending a dance competition with our daughter at the Mahalia Jackson Theater, and it was a nice easy walk through a very pretty park.

    4
    « Nice place »

For the price, it was very nice. We liked the pretty courtyard and pool area. Our rooms were nice; small bathroom, but everything was clean and in working order. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good (but the same every day). I'd stay here again.

    4
« Lovely old New Orleans building with peaceful courtyard close to French Quarter »

Found this Best Western-PLUS hotel online and chose it because of the location, the overall value and accessible on-site parking. The decor and comfort of the room, bed and furnishings were really quite nice as was the lobby, the breakfast area, the bar/lounge and especially the lovely courtyard setting. The worst problem with this stay was no fault of the hotel staff -- it was the ongoing reconstruction for the Trolley tracks! Driving was difficult on the bumpily patched street surface and the heavy weekend traffic. If we stay here again, and I would if the street repairs were completed, I use public transportation (Trolleys, buses, taxicabs and pedal cabs) rather than try to navigate the are by car.

    « Best ever »

This is one of the very best stays we have ever had! The staff was professional, personal and every staff member was extremely polite and courteous! The personalized service was outstanding and the room was impeccably clean and decorated! The front desk was very helpful no matter how many times we asked a question and the breakfast was delicious with a good variety! We applaud you, Best Western Plus!

    « Perfect! »

Hubby chose this hotel for our wedding anniversary and our first ever visit to New Orleans - he made a great choice! The hotel is perfectly situated in the most northern part of the French Quarter, across the road from Armstrong park, in a quiet location away from the noise and craziness that is Bourbon Street. We walked everywhere from the hotel, Bourbon St was just 5 mins away and probably 15mins to the riverfront. Our room was immaculate and very comfy. The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful, especially both the bartenders (one of whom makes a mean Sazerac!!). The courtyard with pool and fountain is a lovely place to have coffee in the morning after the included buffet breakfast. We'll definitely be back!!

    5
    « Beautifull hotel. »

We had the best time in this hotel. Very nice rooms, and a nice space to sit outside in the evening. Breakfast was amazing with hot and cold buffet. At walking distance from Bourbon Street and all the other nice things in New Orleans!

    « The French Quarter »

Our stay in New Orleans was made better by the hotel and it's location. We walked to all of our destinations from the hotel and the visitor's guide that we had received from the hotel was very helpful. The staff was great and very helpful in our stay and made it great.

    4
« Conveniently located and reasonably priced »

This hotel is located on the edge of the French Quarter providing easy walking access to all the main streets in the area. The hotel is a good size for this district and has a spacious courtyard for relaxing with drinks or eating breakfast. The hotel is a bit older and is starting to show signs of wear and tear. The rooms are well appointed, a bit small but clean. On our visit, the main street was under construction for the new street car line. It created a dusty environment but did not affect the hotel per se. Considering the condition of many of the hotels in the quarter, I would recommend this hotel.

    4
« Great Staff Clean Hotel Nice Location »

    This budget-friendly hotel is located on the outskirts of the French Quarter. It only took a short walk through a quiet residential neighborhood to get to the heart of the French Quarter. I found the hotel very clean and the complimentary breakfast completely adequate. It was surprisingly quiet although you would hear an occasional group come in after a fun night out. This hotel would be good for families and business travelers. I could recommend this as a very nice and affordable place to stay;

    « Excellent location »

We stayed here for the start of Mardi Gras and the location was just perfect. Efficient check-in by staff but had to wait for room as it was not ready. This was no problem for us at all. We had just missed breakfast but tea and coffee was on tap all day at no extra cost which was a nice touch. When our room was ready (we were in the main block) we were pleasantly surprised how roomy it was with king sized bed, fridge, iron and ironing board and good bathroom with bath tub. It overlooked the lovely courtyard and pool area. The hotel didn't do lunch or dinner but staff were very helpful in suggesting a deli for lunch, where you could bring your sandwich back and eat in the breakfast area, and were helpful in suggesting where to eat for dinner. Bourbon Street was only a few blocks away which was very convenient. All in all, very attentive staff, good accommodation, excellent location, lovely courtyard with pool (although it was too cold to use it when we were there). Free wfi with small buriness centre. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

« quaint quite french quarter »

Stayed here one week before Madrigal. The place is very appropriate for the area. Nice court yard. Rooms are nice a bit small. It is just 3 block from Bourbon Street and all the other great things that the French Quarter has to offer.

    « Mardi Gras 2016 »

It all starts with the staff. Every staff member I encountered were true professionals and courteous. From the time I walked in, they treated me and all the guest like family. Staff was knowledgeable of the French Quarters. They made great suggestions on where to dine & best area to catch the parades.

« Excellent hotel and close to the French Quarter! »

Nice room with all the amenities. Just blocks from the Quarter. St. Ann street is the best option for a walk to the Quarter and is well lit at night. A hot, continental breakfast was available. All family members found something they liked. Courtyard was beautiful and very peaceful to soak up the atmosphere of New Orleans.

    4
    « Comfortable and quiet »

Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Parking was tight would be my only gripe but hey, it IS the French Quarter. Overall I'd certainly return with no concerns! Courtyard was large, lush and quiet. Great night's sleep!

« Great location and staff »

Had a wonderful time for 4 days in New Orleans in part due to helpful staff. Great recommendations for food and music. Location is 1 block from Bourbon St and everything is walking distance. Room was clean and we'll appointed. Smallish due to age of building but not cramped. Breakfast bar saves time and money. Valet was helpful with baggage and very polite. Should have taken names as all the staff were friendly and knew the area well. Price was very reasonable for location.

    4
« Nice room and wonderful breakfast »

The walk to the room is outside, but along a pretty inner courtyard and pool. The room was dark and older, but handsome. The air conditioner was very loud. We kept it on constant fan, but at 74 at night, so it was quieter and turned the temp down during the day when we weren't there. The scrambled eggs are incredibly good and nice crisp bacon also. We're good walkers and enjoyed walking all over the French Quarter and beyond. It is along the upper edge of the Quarter, but only a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street. No crowd noise.

    4
« Average hotel, Great free breakfat »

Stayed for one night. Friendly helpful staff. Convenient spot if you want to enjoy the quarter but be away from Bourbon and closer to local joints although everything is close in the quarter. The rooms were nothing special, beds were comfy enough. Breakfast though was on point and offered many hot and cold options. The only thing that I found wrong with the place is that the Wi-Fi sucked, but you can't win them all.

    « Excellent Stay! »

We used to live in New Orleans and my wife hasn't been back since we evacuated from Hurricane Katrina. We stayed at this hotel: Feb. 26-28, 2016. We LOVED it!! The hotel has that New Orleans charm, the breakfast is great, the location is FANTASTIC (3 blocks from Bourbon), parking is safe, the staff is professional / courteous, and the rates are reasonable. Next time my wife and I plan to book a king size room?we CAN"T WAIT to book this hotel again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    « Mixed review »

Location is okay, but the hotel itself is noisy. Our air conditioning / heater was incredibly loud and the foot traffic outside our room was noisy. The check in was moderately informative but done by rote with little awareness of the responses. Room was comfortably large but could use a refurb.

    « Persoanl »

It's was better than any one of the 5 star hotel I've stayed in. My spouce and I were very impress with the friend people. Not to mention a real breakfast; not "continental" like most place. I will stay every time I'm in the City of New Orleans; location is a real plus.

    « Nice Hotel »

While it includes the name "French Quarter", it is on the very outskirts of it, and a very long walk to the festive areas of the quarter and convention center. Would recommend cabbing it to those areas, which is cheaper than another parking fee. That said, it s a quiet location. Rooms are about what one can expect for a Best Western.

    5
« Authentic style hotel with great service »

The hotel is located on the edge of the French Quarter across from Louis Armstrong Park. It is a moderate walk to the main attractions (Bourbon Street, French Market) through lovely neighborhood architecture. While the hotel is very modern, tit does not look like a typical Best Western. The architecture is very loyal to the New Orleans style, including a beautiful courtyard with a pool. The real highlight of our experience was the staff--they were friendly, helpful and looked for every opportunity to make our stay a delight. Well done!!!

    « Well worth a visit »

Easy to find hotel in the french quarter, close enough to be in the heart of all the action but far enough away to be a great location from the action too... Hotel has a great courtyard right at centre of hotel, which can get a little noisy at times when crowded but hotel security quickly calmed everyone down to an acceptable level. Rooms were great with very comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was a pleasure too, lots of southern cooking and ingredients showing through in it. At the time i was there Atlanta were playing NO in NFL, so hotel was crowded with fans but was still quiet enough for a good nights sleep.

« Mardi Gras in NOLA »

Overall nice Hotel, nice area. Rooms are small if your tall you may want to avoid the bathroom, the water pressure is really low and the water is kind of slimy sticks with your skin after your dry. I've stayed at other Hotels in NOLA and can't blame the water source. Parking is a bit cramped if you drive a SUV or Truck be careful. Breakfast is good for being FREE but I would rather eat at many of the great restaurants...courtyard area is nice as is the bar. they also have no security and the rooms doors face out anyone can't just walk in and out on this property. The street where the hotel sits is under major construction so lobby and bar are covered in dust. Staff of the hotel were good allowed me to check in early. Like I said Hotel was decent would not however be my first choice more of a back up plan.

    « Great Place »

I recommend this place if your traveling to New Orleans, the location was perfect, the hotel and staff were perfect they also have a free breakfast. parking was safe, walking distance to pretty much everything.

« On the edge of the French Quarter »

I was worried that we would be a bit too far from the "action" of the Vieux Carre, but not indeed! The sights and activities were all within a short walk. Check in was quick, the staff at the front desk friendly and helpful with suggestions. The room itself, as noted by other reviews, is on the small side, but who cares, who is spending time in the room anyway! We were only there for one night. The breakfast has both hot and cold breakfast items, and while it was busy, the staff kept things well supplied. There is some construction going on in the street in front of the hotel, but that was not bothersome. I hate paying for parking, but it's a city--what are you going to do.... The parking area is kind of small, and the parking spots themselves are smallish. Dont' take a big car or truck!

    « Comfortable and convenient »

Stayed for 3 nights. Staffs at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Car parking is available and is $28 per night. Our room was on the second floor. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The wash basin was outside and it drained very slowly. Bathroom was clean. The room was well stocked with towels and toiletries. House keeping staffs were friendly. Breakfast was good. Overall the stay was very good.

« Service was great location not bad »

The service was great and the hotel was pretty. We got a suit and it was very spacious! Location was good as far as getting around to places. 3 minutes walking to Bourbon Street, 8 minutes to Canal Street, 10 minutes to Cafe Du Monde (Really good! Don't let the line scare you. It goes faster than it looks. Stay on the line close to the street. That's the it down line.) The only thing I didn't like was if you crossed the street to the other side of Rampart you were officially on the dangerous side of town. BE CAREFUL. locals may joke that it is the ghetto. IT IS THE GHETTO. We didn't have a problem because we didn't cross. Other than that it was an awesome time. GO TO PRESERVATION HALL. It is a super cute experience. 5 minute walk from this hotel.

    « Comfortable, convenient area »

Not the best street but, inside the hotel, security seemed good, so I felt safe enough once I was in and during the day, and it was close to safer streets. The lobby and dining area, for the price, could have had a better atmosphere (there was a bit of a musty smell). The room itself was comfortable and was cleaned well. The staff could have been more helpful, certainly they could have been friendlier. There were a lot of older people there (in their 60s +) when I was there, not sure why that was.

    2
    « Disappointing service »

The hotel itself is fine but two times the housekeeping staff left our door open so when we came back after long days out we found the room wide open. The safe was not accessible so our passports and valuables were left unsecured. Having left the door open we would have thought they would have been in there replacing towels or making beds but neither of those things were done. We spoke with management and received an apology but we're not offered any compensation. Disappointing.

« A motel in not the best area »

When we arrived noticed the street was in construction as cable car rails were being installed. Area was away from French quarter but in walking distance. Place shown its age. Plus side receptionist helpful and kind. One elevator- room for two people. Room showed age. But plus side free wi fi, coffee maker in rom , large screen tv and many many channels to choose from. Free breakfast and coffee maker Lovely garden in back of property

« Quick two night stay after our cruise »

Our first trip to New Orleans and it was a memorable one. The location was perfect, on the edge of the French Quarter, everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. We shared our room with another couple and we we had plenty of room, towels etc. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful directing us to several worthwhile attractions and restaurants. The hot breakfast was excellent and the pool and restaurant areas were spotless. Great experience, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend to friends

« great place to stay »

On the edge of the French Quarter and Louis Armstrong park, this location is my favorite to go in New Orleans. hospitable staff, great rooms, quite and walking distance from lots of great places. A nice courtyard rounds off the experience.

« Great place to stay. Lovely breakfast »

We stayed here for 2 nights after our cruise. We arrived early. The staff was very kind and stored our luggage so we could go eat before we checked in. The hotel has nice character and rooms. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Great location »

great location: close enough to the Bourbon street experience, far enough to get a quiet night's sleep. All amenities were great. Breakfast was fulfilling! was a nice 15 minute walk to center of New Orleans and all the tourist sites. we had a great time.

« Get stay in New Orleans »

We were down in New Orleans for several days last week. We stayed at this hotel. Exceptional service. Front desk people were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast that was included was hot and fresh. Room was well looked after. Bartender very friendly. Short walk to everything in the French Quarter. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone deciding to visit the French Quarter.

    5
« Beautiful, understated elegance, very helpful staff »

Our room was in the original old building. It had a very nice traditional decor. It was very clean and had a good-sized refrigerator and a safe in the room. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, juice, etc. Desk staff were very helpful and friendly.

This hotel in New Orleans was on the edge of the French Quarter and allowed immediate access to it in just three short blocks..The staff directed me to a great restaurant that was awesome....Cant wait to go back..

    « I really loved this hotel! »

The hotel is very nice and well maintained. The rooms were a bit small but not an issue for me. The breakfast was pretty yummy and it was very convenient to have a bar at the hotel (something to do while my friends finished some work). I will definitely recommend this place!

« Nice hotel for a good value! »

We stayed at the BWPFQ the week of January 18. The staff is very friendly and helpful for the first time NOLA visitors we were. They provided an area map, told us about the safe route to take at night, affordable transportation, and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast consisted of build your own breakfast sandwiches (eggs, cheese, salsa, and a type of meat. The type differed each day), bagels, fruit, cereal, waffles. There is an outside courtyard that is really pretty and peaceful. Id take my coffee out there and sit. My only complaint was that we were in room 206. When you walk off the elevator the wall you are looking at is the wall that is shared with the headboard of room 206. So the elevator and outside door to the balcony was very loud. So my suggestion would be to avoid 206 if possible.

    5
    « Comfortable, quiet, & clean »

We enjoyed out stay here. It was a busy weekend, but quiet here. Typical Best Western full breakfast. They had a bar & pool, but too cold for the pool. Well kept and clean. Rooms are comfortable. It was a long walk to Burbon Street, so we took cabs most of the time.

    4
« All the charm at a reasonable price »

Just on the edge of the French Quarter this hotel offers lots of charm and friendly staff. I noticed people of all ages staying here but no one was bothered by the young party goers. I had a comfortable quiet room. The breakfast offered lots of variety. It closes at 9:30am though so get up early because it is worth the effort to get fresh made waffles.

    5
    « A Gem »

A find, located near the periphery of the Quarter, away from the hustle bustle yet walkable. I will stay here again and highly recommend the property to others. The staff is beyond courteous, they go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable.

    4
« Clean, fun and accessable »

I was a little concerned about the location of the hotel, but was absolutely fine. All in all, I enjoyed my stay there! Tucked away in the north eastern part of the French Quarter this Best Western provided a free breakfast, free internet, a comfortable lounge/bar and very helpful staff. The courtyard was nice and has a pool (that could use a good scrubbing). The room was a decent size, however I wish some of the furniture could have been smaller to maximize the space. My king sized bed was extremely comfortable too. My only nitpick was the bathroom - the water pressure was low and I think they had hard water. Took forever to wash soap off my hands and a long time to rinse soap off in the shower. Room service was efficient and I never ran out of towels or soap. We chose this this hotel for it's location, price, free breakfast and free internet.

    3
« Great location, ok service, good beds »

Stayed in this hotel. It is located right at the edge of the French Quarter. The staff is friendly, the rooms are what you can expect in an older tourist hotel. Everything is clean, everything works just fine. The shower is not for 6 foot 4 guests. There is a safe deposit box in the room. The breakfast is ok but not spectacular. Check-in and checkout are quick.

    4
« Quiet location sufficiently close to the French Quarter attractions »

We arrived in NOLA on Thanksgiving weekend and were really glad that we stayed here and not in or near Bourbon Street. Nice hotel, good rooms. good breakfast and extremely friendly and helpful staff. On the edge of where you would likely want to venture at night, but walking down to the hub of things was not a problem of an evening - less than ten minutes stroll. Very good value

    4
    « Overnight stay »

Close to everything. Nice hotel. Staff seems friendly. The bar area nice. Easy to walk to the fun of New Orleans down on Bourbon street. Room was clean. Kinda of dark but it was nice. Shower was awesome would love to have it in my house.

    « Great Location »

Great location ! Louis Armstrong Park is across the street. There is a corner convenience store 2 blocks away which we used to stock the refrigerator with soda. They make great sandwiches there as well. All of the quarter is walking distance, yet the hotel is not near loud noises from Bourbon Street.Offers an excellent hot breakfast and has a great patio area with a small fountain and a pool. You do have to pay to park but that is standard at most places in the quarter. The parking area is secure and even walking at night, I never had any problems. The staff was very knowledgable and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

« This was a perfect place for my vacation! »

A group of my friends and I wanted to be in New Orleans for New years eve! We wanted to see the French quarter etc. This hotel was in the perfect place. The French quarter was right behind this hotel. It took less than 5 minutes to walk to the French quarter. It was far enough though that it wasn't too loud! We weren't hearing music and screaming all night which was super nice! This hotel was clean!! (To my standards and they are really high) The staff was super friendly and answered all of my dumb questions! They gave us suggestions on what to do, where to eat and where to stay out of. (There were four of us girls) The breakfast was great!! They had waffles, eggs, bacon, bagels, muffins, yogurt etc etc Tons of stuff! I was pleasantly surprised. **When I come back to New Orleans, this is where I will stay!! Parking a car is between 25-30 dollars a day. It was super worth it because any other places to park were super expensive.

    « LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! »

This hotel was perfect! The staff was very friendly, the complimentary hot breakfast was the best I have ever had, and the location is great. You are minutes walk from Bourbon Street without having to hear all the craziness once you decide you want to sleep. Its across from Armstrong Park if you want to take a stroll. Canal street is not far and Cafe Du Monde is a 15 minute walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    1
    « Terrible hotel »

The rooms are disgusting, they smell like cab air freshener, ugly and crammed. Its on a very loud street that's also one of the most dangerous streets in New Orleans. Lots of muggings go on there. Way Over priced, for such a bad hotel in a bad area.

    4
    « Good Choice »

This hotel was located across the street form the Louis Armstrong park, a slight 2 block walk to Bourbon St. a great location. Taxis were easily available, the staff extremely helpful, the lounge great for a nightcap and a good breakfast to start the day.

« Best place ever, hands down. First time to NOLA, gets no better... »

I am 60 years old, a world traveler for decades, and yet this was my first time ever visiting New Orleans. I am so, SO happy I stayed at the Best Western Landmark Hotel, at 920 Rampart Street. We walked so much over our five days there that I actually lost 3 pounds! Yet the hotel is just three blocks from the major hub where you want to spend much of your time. The hotel is impeccable in all ways: LOCATION, staff, cleanliness, gigantic rooms, awesome shower, great maid service, and so much more. The breakfast buffet is hot and plentiful, with everything you could want for an included hotel buffet breakfast. The service staff is friendly and knowledgeable and helps you out with everything. We stayed there for five days, and were thrilled with the closeness to other places in the French Quarter, yet the privacy and safety factor of staying in this hotel particularly. When I do return, I will stay here and here alone. The only "off" thing I can tell you, just because I am being totally honest here, is that you need to be an NBA player with about a 5-foot arm span to reach the toilet paper holder on the wall in the your bathroom (we were in #349). It was so far away from the toilet that we were cracking up! Where is the hidden camera here? ?? We fixed this by grabbing an extra roll from the maid's cart, and keeping it on the floor near the toilet. Who wants to get up in the middle of, you know what, to stretch across the room to get your paper? All in all, a super easy fix, and this place is amazing. I recommend it 100% for 100% of anyone going there. You'll love it! Patty Hook Wadsworth, IL

« Best western French quarter »

Location is good in the day wouldn't walk alone at night It's a cute looking hotel Free breakfast Free wifi Had a courtyard facing room which was nice to look out Most staff were friend, but some were not. My issue is the walls are paper thin. You can hear through them These ladies kept having drama talks out my door. I could hear everything word for word in the room The second time I asked them to go else where. Also then door had a gap from the wall There for there was light coming through all night. Also the alarm clock lights up the room bright.

    « It's even better this year!! »

Several people deserve special praise: Summer at the front desk was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful, she wore a bright, cheery smile that put you in a good mood and made you smile back;Simone and Clairbell in the breakfast area managed to serve a large group of diners and got them all what they wanted; and John the doorman did a very good job. This Best Western delivers great value for your money. It is just a few steps from Canal Street and the French Quarter. It is fairly close to the Superdome and Harrah's. The excellent employees add greatly to the value. We will return.

    « Excellent Inexpensive DEAL! »

We loved our stay at this aging but Consumer friendly hotel. Our room had a very comfy bed , a large bath area, a fabulous huge TV, views of the FRENCH QUARTER neighbors' walled gardens, and plenty of room and storage. Included was a full hot breakfast, a gorgeous, landscaped park like outdoor pool area, daily paper, the use of 3 computers, free wi-fi, a lovely lobby with large overstuffed chairs. PLUS it's in the Quarters' quiet area, just a couple of short blocks from the HEART of the Quarter!

    « Avg stay »

Close enough to Bourbon street but also far enough. Walked daily and nightly to all areas of French Quarter and seemed fairly safe. Continental breakfast was typical, could run longer as many sleep in and not enough tables. Lobby bar is small but friendly. Desk staff were helpful. Had a room with stand up shower which was nice. Heater/AC is loud and so are elevators, limited tight parking. Street in front has major long term construction as they put in street cars. Would go back again.

    « Great location! »

This property offered a great safe location in the French Quarter with rooms compatible to the location. The lovely court area provided a pool and quiet sitting areas to enjoy. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable regarding tours and directions in the area. Would definitely recommendation this Best Western property!!!

« Lovely relaxed stay, super convenient »

Has the feel of a bed & breakfast with the privacy and services of a hotel. Lovely courtyard, generous time for breakfast, great coffee, experienced and professional staff, super convenient parking (costs extra), clean comfortable well appointed rooms. Within walking distance of the hot spots and right across the street from Louis Armstrong Park & Congo Square. But the feel is quiet and low key. Our room opened up to the courtyard, and we left the door open much of the time to enjoy the lovely air.

« NIce place, great staff, great breakfast amd soon to be a good location. »

Yes you read my title and say.....soon to be a good location? Well they are bringing the trolley rail system literally across the street from this hotel soon! This will make the hotel a gem because you will be able to reach all of Nawlins within 50 steps of the front door! THis place is only a short three block walk to Bourbon Street! The linens and beds are great, the room staff was very friendly and pleasant, all of the staff whether in the hallways, by the pool or just in passing always said "Hello" and that is really nice! Keep up the good work and if I may suggest put a "tip"bowl out by the breakfast because it is so well run and tasty they deserve some tips!

    « Love it!!!! »

Once again... Driving: this time, from Miami to New Orleans...crazy tired, and only hoping to get into a nice hot shower Surprisly much more than that!!!! Fall in love already with the lobby, the pool area (inside patio) was exactly as the pictures showed and better in front of your eyes!, the charming place, and the bedroom... Love it!!!! From the color of the walls to the decoration, bed, comfort ... And shower ?? Everything was great!! Located at the right place for you to walk around the area, surrounded by restaurants and bars and shops and history... Great breakfast! Smiles from most of the team members. 100% recomend it

« Very pleasant stay / great location »

Typical Best Western. Interior is not the newest standard but still very comfortable (and actually like they present it on the pictures). The room was quite big and very clean, front desk and housekeeping staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast includes a good selection of food and drinks. The courtyard area is kept clean and invites you to have a coffee / drink outside as they offer a few tables and chairs with umbrellas. The outdoor pool is well maintained and you can use it from dawn till dusk (officially). We had a room facing the courtyard on the first floor and could hear the elevator (like 3 additional rooms away) from time to time. Also, you hear people sitting in the courtyard. Still, we felt not disturbed. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the New Orleans night life. Parking is available but quite pricey (still, if you compare to other places they have regular prices)?

« BestWestern is the best place to stay in NOLA »

This location in NOLA is excellent, safe, clean with great staff and services. Close enough to everything in the French Quarters and far enough away that you can get a good night's rest. NOLA tours will pick up and drop you off at the hotel.

« Great Location and Staff! »

This hotel was in a great location! We were able to walk all over the French Quarter and to Bourbon Street. Also, the Louis Armstrong Park is right across the street. Accommodations were great and the rooms were really nice. The staff was TOP NOTCH! They helped us with everything (restaurants, cabs and booking tours). They were so friendly - especially Bernetta. She made our stay amazing. Only downside to this hotel is street noise (but you are in the French Quarter). Otherwise, great value for location and amenities!

« Very Nice Place to Stay in the French Quarter »

This hotel is on the northeast corner of the French Quarter, approx. 3 blocks from Bourbon Street and a couple blocks from Louis Armstrong Park. We booked it because the price was reasonable and we have been pleased with other Best Western Plus locations. Once again we were satisfied. Since this is an older building, the rooms were a little small, but definitely satisfactory. Our room had two double beds; I don't believe they have rooms with two queens. The bathroom had a nice shower. There was a refrigerator in the room but no microwave. The room also had a safe in the large closet. The hotel has a very nice courtyard with an outdoor pool. Breakfast was offered 6:30am to 9:30am and was pretty good. The eating area was kept clean. The staff were very friendly. Parking was approx $100 for three nights, which is reasonable in the French Quarter. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    4
    « Great Location »

The hotel has all the basic necessities and is located just off the French Quarters. We loved that fact that we could walk to Bourbon Street and that the hotel was just far enough from all of the crazy when we were ready to walk away and return to the hotel for the night. I am assuming that sleep might get interrupted at closer hotels. This was the perfect distance away. Taxi's conveniently park right out front and makes it very easy to head back to the airport. Included hot Breakfast was just right to start our days and included Waffles, scrabbled eggs, sausage, cereals, fruit, etc.. Our only concern was that there was a odor in the room when we arrived. Thankfully the weather was nice which allowed us to air it out which helped. Due to the location and having all the basic necessities, I would stay here again. I like that we are just far enough away from the French Quarters that we were able to sleep in peace, but close enough to join the crazy for a bit.

« Nice Property good location »

I really enjoyed my 4 nights at this property, room was lovely, had quite a 'new orleans' feel, loved the central courtyard with pool (too cold to use though) lovely trees and a real French feel. Breakfast is included and is very good - was supposed to be just continental, but scrambled eggs, bacon or hamburgers were provided every day, as well as the rest of the continental food. Its right on the outer grid of the French Quarter, but this is good, as its only a five minute walk to Bourbon Street or down to the river walk, but its a quieter area than being right in the middle of it. lovely property, I'd stay there again

Typical Best Western motel with off street parking and room doors facing outside courtside. Comfortable bed, free Wi-Fi. No bath tubs - showers only. Easy walking distance to Bourban Street and Frenchman's Street. Friendly, helpful front desk staff. The maid's service carts were very noisy - a problem only if you are trying to catch a few z's mid day.

« Desk personnel were exceptional, room not! »

We arrived at the hotel early and were offered a room near the elevator or we could wait a few hours (check in was @ 4pm this was 1000am)...we asked if we could park. We noticed signage indicating parking at the hotel was $20-30 per day (this wasn't indicated on the website). We did park in a tiny cramped undercover parking space and went back to the desk to inquire about the parking charge=$22.50 / day, though we didn't know how this amount was calculated. Again, very personable & helpful assistance at the desk, full breakfast excellent, elevator musty, room not so clean, internet not working, one phone not working. Shower liner wasn't even hung, just fabric curtain AND YOU HAD TO RUN AROUND IN THE SHOWER JUST TO GET WET! POOR, POOR, POOR WATER PRESSURE!

We 7 of us in 3 rooms stayed here Oct.15 to 20 2015. I have stayed here before and once again I wasn't disappointed. The Staff at this hotel is so good they welcome you and are so helpful from the front desk to house keeping a great job. The Hotel is in a great location walking distance to all in the Quarter and Frenchman st. Armstong Park is just across the street. When the North Rampart street car is completed it will be even better. We would like to thank the staff for a great stay once again. Best Regards

Just came back from a weekend getaway with the neighbors and can't say enough nice things about your hotel! From the check-in to check-out everything was wonderful! Will definitely come back, we were with a party of 8 and all of us enjoyed ourselves immensely!

    « LOCATION BEST FEATURE »

Its location, N. Rampart, puts it at the border of the French Quarter. The location is a short stroll way from the partying of Bourbon Street and Frenchman Street. Could use some updating: broken railings (including on 3rd floor which could be dangerous), mold in shower area, poor lighting. Staff was very polite and helpful.

    « Nice hotel »

We stayed in a king room 202 for 3 nights. Our friends in 206 had the exact same layout but much more space. Both rooms had an interior hallway and overlooked the outdoor pool and courtyard. The bed was very comfortable with upgraded bedding. The rooms need more lighting at the doorway/closet area. It was difficult to see in the closet and room safe. The elevator is a very small European style that holds 4 people. Again, so poorly lit you had to bend down to see the floor numbers. Doors closing in the hallway can be heard throughout the night. The continental breakfast had the usual fare. I would suggest they need fresh fruit instead of canned fruit cocktail. We went to the bar several times and our bartender Ty was friendly and efficient. Great martinis!

This hotel is nothing like other Best Western Plus locations we've stayed in other cities. The room is too small for the oversize furniture and the dark brown walls make it seem even smaller. Worst of all, though, is how dirty it is. the shower (no tub - just a tiled shower) has layers of crud around the perimeter. If I had water shoes with me, I'd wear them but I didn't bring them along. There's a layer of dust on the dresser/console unit and one of the lamps either doesn't work or has a bad bulb - something that should have been checked. There is no outlet in the toilet/shower room, so you have to turn on the overhead light to use the toilet at night instead of being able to use a nightlight. And the air conditioner - could it get much louder? We're very disappointed at the overall state of this property. The location is okay, but don't be fooled by the pictures online - it might have been that nice once, but it isn't now. The single redeeming feature is the staff - they're very pleasant and helpful.

« comfortable hotel, very good location »

This is a very comfortable hotel, with friendly staff, decent rooms, nice setting and excellent breakfast. Everything you need in a hotel at this price. It is located opposite Armstrong Park, just a few minutes walk to Bourbon Street and on a main road so felt safe. Hotel has a small pool which we didn't use because of the weather. Bar area was good though

« Super hotel, but location.... »

Hotel itself was excellent: clean, nicely decorated, lovely courtyard, great breakfast spread, & quiet. A streetcar line is being put in in the front of the hotel so the construction was quite loud in daytime. I requested a quiet room & got one in the back so all was well. My only reservation in recommending the hotel is the location. It's on the northernmost edge of the French Quarter, which I thought would be nice, being several blocks away from all the hubbub. That was true, but the downside was having to walk through deserted residential streets at night to get to and from the hotel. The desk clerk told us not to walk down any street east of St. Ann Street after dark. In 3 nights there, we didn't have any encounters but the quiet and solitude were disconcerting & my husband carried pepper spray. There are few restaurants that far north so even if you aren't out till the wee hours, you still have to be out for dinner & maybe some music. Additionally, sidewalks are very uneven or broken up & the streets are poorly lit, making for some trip hazards. Cabs were always right outside the hotel & readily available in the French Quarter, but I'm cheap when a venue or restaurant is only 5-6 blocks away. Another downside was the distance to catch the streetcars. We rode Amtrak to NO, so getting around for us was by foot, cab, or streetcar. Next time, I'll pay a little more & get a hotel on either side of Canal Street.

« First price, third class »

Hotel is not well looked after. Absolutely overprized (ca USD 300 p.N. incl. car park) , for this price it should be a luxurious place but it is a dark third class hotel. There was a constant bad smell in the room, window could not be opened and the AC was noisy. During the rain the terrace cushions stayed outside, ashtrays were never emptied, the man at the desk ate his meal whilst I posed a question... Merci!

    « French Quarter »

This property is right on the edge of the French Quarter, you are only 3 blocks from Burbon Street and a few more to Jackson Square you can walk the entire French Quarter and then come back to your hotel with a nice friendly lounge bar right in the lobby

Friendly, Clean, Price is right. We arrived Late and left early. Ate in the hotel. Breakfast food was OK, Fresh fruit and sweets are great. Eggs, and meats are eatable at best. Nothing more to say. We travel a lot and we like Best Western the best.

« It's a best western in the French Quarter »

Like the title says it's a Best Western. Once again I am not a hoity-toity traveler. So this hotel was just fine. The room was a standard double room, I thought I ordered a standard king, oh well. The room does some nice features. The shower has a sliding glass door and pretty nice tile. Flat screen tv, nice lamps and a table that seemed to be forced in to fit. The bar and lobby are nice and have nice ambiance. The computers for printing boarding passes were issue free. Location is a few blocks from Bourbon Street. If your walking go up and down St Anne for safety. My wife and I walked everywhere from the hotel to Jackson Square to the harrah's casino to Frenchman st. No complaints as far as the hotel goes.

« Decent Place to Stay »

First thing: Parking is very tight and limited. I was lucky to get there early on Thursday afternoon and find a spot to park. While others in our group had trouble finding some where public to park on Friday afternoon. Second thing: Hotel room is very clean and I thought it was very cool how they have rooms on the court yard. Very old time New Orleans style. Room has blackout curtains so it made sleeping there really nice. Third: I didn't really like the shampoo and soap the hotel provided. I would highly recommend having your own. The smell of the shampoo and conditioner were terrible and the bath soap just felt like it was still on you even after washing it off. I would have liked to stay closer to Bourbon St but it is still in a very convenient location. Not a bad walk at all. Construction on Rampart makes it a little hard to get too but that's not the hotels fault.

Perfect for the French Quarter - Clean and quiet but close to everything. Helpful and friendly staff, right across from Armstrong Park and walking distance to Jackson square and Canal Street. Breakfast was good and the pool and exercise room were clean.

« $100 deposit that will be refunded, be aware »

We were not aware of the $100 deposit due at check-in, but it was refunded at check-out. We were able to pay cash. Great hotel, nice rooms, good food. Would stay here again as it was reasonably priced and walking distance from Bourbon Street.

    « I didn't want to leave »

While Google-ing places to stay in the French Quarter, this one caught my eye for two reasons number 1 being price and 2 the photos. It was like stepping back in time in the lobby, reception, bar and breakfast area (not in a bad way) they have kept it so well and the wood features are beautiful. The room was a good size with a king bed, couch, desk, chairs. The room was very clean and even the little extras in the bathroom were appreciated. The staff - well what can I say except they were exceptional. Reception staff were so friendly and not just to us, while sitting in the lobby we observed them deal with others and no matter how many questions people asked they were only too willing to answer and show maps, give directions, local info etc. Breakfast staff were right on, as soon as anything way getting low it was replenished, everything was kept clean, they were very friendly. Breakfast itself was good, better than a lot of hotel breakfasts. Bar staff were friendly and only too happy to chat, share their local knowledge and even give a locals spin on places to eat and visit General staff as in concierge and housekeeping etc were on the ball, everything was great and nothing was too was trouble. They were friendly and before you even had a chance to say good morning etc they greeted you with a smile. One thing I noticed in the US was most of the time service is great, they are very high on customer service however at the BEST WESTERN PLUS French Quarter Landmark Hotel, it is probably the best service I have ever seen and experienced. You can tell they are a team. It might sound like I am raving on but the hotel is really a credit to their staff. The garden, courtyard and pool area is so nice, just so relaxing. The only thing is (an it's not a complaint) more of a wish is that they had dinner, traditional Louisiana food. The dining area is so nice and I think being able to enjoy dinner there would be the icing on the cake so to speak. We stayed here three nights and it just wasn't long enough. I didn't want to leave. However we will be back again.
