« Rundown, impersonal and hidden fees »

It's obviously not had a refurbish in many many years. It's a bit of a depressing place. The check in person we had acted like we were bothering him. The room was perfectly fine but the hairdryer is not powerful enough and sparked a couple times. There was also a hidden resort fee that we had to pay that we weren't informed of when booking online. This fee covered access to things like the pools, then one of the pools was closed. The other things like half price Michael Jackson tickets were things we weren't interested in at all. I was not impressed.

I am writing this review in Hope of a great visit to the Strat!! I had stayed there numerous times in the last 15 or so years and mostly had pleasurable stays, however the last couple of times there was some minor issues with housekeeping hot water and some overall cleanliness to the room.. I really and truly believe this is a great property BECAUSE of it's location and it's a great value!! I am looking forward to my next visit at the end of June ,I am counting on the great folks at the stratosphere to insure it is a good one, I have not stayed there for a couple years so I have my fingers crossed

« Cheap, and you get what you pay for! »

Spent 4 nights here recently and upgraded my reservation on the advice of the check in clerk. Let me just say, that I was in the North Tower, 23rd floor. My view was to the west and towards Red Rock Canyon. But not of the strip. Housekeeping did not do a thorough job, leaving behind items left by the previous occupant. See attached pics. Three apples in the fridge and a giveaway bag from a trade show that was behind the chair in the room. Also had receipts and papers in the drawer.

« Good hotel for the price! »

We stayed at Stratosphere hotel in Dec 2017. The hotel is at one end of the Las Vegas strip and may be an issue for some people, as you need to drive down or take a cab to go on the strip. It's cheaper compared to many other hotels and provides value for money. The rooms were nice, dining options, casino and overall atmosphere was average.

    « Clean & Affordable! »

The tower is a must see. Our family enjoyed the pool and view from up top. Our select rooms were clean and affordable. The restaurants and stores within the resort were convenient. We would recommend this hotel and resort.

    « Dirty room! »

20 minute $30/40 taxi ride from the airport. Right at the end of the strip a busy bus journey from where the heart of everything is but the busses are 24 hours and frequent! Check in was easy, room tax to pay. We had a room on the 6th floor horrid view of all the air conditioning units room 690 - big bed, tv and bathroom with the smallest unusable bath I've ever seen! The room was dusty and dirty, I moved the bedside lamp that showed up a huge circle of weeks old dust!! The rooms are dated, tired and old now. Casinos, shops, theatres etc good facilities. Only used the pool On the 8th floor, clean and tidy plenty of shade and loud ?horrid' music pumped out all day, plenty of beds. Cabanas available for extortionate prices I never saw anyone on on ever.... I wonder why $$$$$... Las Vegas is mental - enjoy your stay!

« Tallest Building In Vegas »

We popped into the Stratosphere and took the lift to the top of the tower. What views from the top. It is located in down town so it is a bus ride from the Strip. It was very quiet when we went probably due to the location.

« Fun time in Vegas »

A fun spot in vegas. Just a short walk to the monorail. An older hotel but has been updated to be more modern. The casino is not as large as some of the others but still fun. The rooftop pool is a lot of fun. And free rides up to the top of the tower are amazing.

« The best times are now behind »

In the ever changing pace of Vegas, age hits hotels the hardest. The Stratosphere was probably a really nice hotel 10/15 years ago, though now you can see that no real renovation has been done. The rooms are big, though of poor quality, with dark bathrooms and damages on door frames, sinks, pieces of furniture, etc. There is no breakfast (it's Vegas), but there is a big car park, free of charge. Wi-Fi works well. Very nice swimming pool on the 8th floor and great attractions on the top (SkyJump is a must) compensate the overall sense of abandonment of the structure. Casino is identical to the others in the city. Staff at reception desk is friendly and very quick. Price is low for Vegas, though it would be quite outrageous in another city, considering that it does not include anything more than the room itself.

    3
« Great Energy... Poor Gaming »

The Strat is a great weekend casino with action. Unique Thrill Rides, shopping, restaurants and strong bar drinks. However; the slot machines are extremely tight and few jackpots are won!! Renovations are needed in the rooms. A Mediocre Gaming Casino!!

« DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL »

First of all, this hotel isn't even CLOSE to the strip, or downtown. It's in a pathetic middle ground with absolutely nothing to do outside of the actual hotel. Not that you would want to go outside of this hotel because it's dangerous A-F. The neighborhood surrounding this hotel is extremely sketchy. Next: the resort fees. No one told us these were a thing when we booked the hotel so SURPRISE, we had to pay another $170 upon checking-in to the hotel. If we had planned on that, if they had just been upfront and honest about it, I wouldn't be mad. It's a trap designed to make unknowing people pay more money. The room: literally the only good things I have to say about this room is that it was spacious and the TV worked. That's it. The beds are extremely firm, only slightly better than sleeping on a stack of actual cardboard. The sink and the shower didn't drain, we called facilities multiple times and they'd come tinker with it but never actually resolve the issue. The toilet leaked water from the tank all over the floor. The shower is ridiculously difficult to get into. Had we been older, of limited mobility, or even shorter than we are, it would have been impossible. The side of the tub is probably 2 feet tall. Try stepping over that just to find out the shower doesn't actually drain. Housekeeping kept bringing us dirty and stained towels and a room service tray from the people that stayed in the room next to us sat outside the door on the floor for 3 days before someone finally picked it up. The rooms don't have a fridge and you don't get discounted meals for being a guest so you're forced to pay Vegas prices for everything and not get to keep any leftovers you might have due to lack of a fridge. We took an Uber to Target to get snacks and breakfast items to save us some money.

    « Nice Hotel »

This hotel was nice. the rooms where spacious and CLEAN which is very big in my books! There were lots of places to eat within the hotel and it was just a short bus ride away from the rest of the strip.

« This hotel is declining fast..unfortunate changes in last 2 years. »

My girlfriend and I first stayed at this hotel in April 2016, having booked a 5-day stay on Groupon. Our experience during our first visit was enjoyable, so much so that we decided to stay there on our next visit to Vegas - exactly two years later. However, our experience this time (as part of a Travelocity package) was nowhere near the same. To begin with, we were put in the North Tower (avoid that dated tower if you can!). The entire floor stuck of pot, the room looked like a 1970s HoJo's room, and a notice on the floor advised us that we would be without hot water for the next 24 hours. After over 20 hours of travel (weather delays, etc), my girlfriend was livid. To their credit, however, the front desk manager was understanding and upgraded us to the newer tower. Much nicer room, with a much nicer view. And it didn't stink. Despite the "resort fees" increasing, available services have decreased. At least the complimentary ones have. We were supposed to have been given some 2 for 1 drink vouchers upon check-in, but had to line up a second time (and the line-ups are NOT small here?even at 2 am!) to collect them. (Again, to their credit, they gave us an extra couple vouchers for our troubles.) The worst, however, was waking up each morning to loud, vibrating, drilling-type noises. This was due to ongoing renovation work in the building. One morning it was at 6am!!!! Other mornings it wasn't until 9 or 10 am - however, still early for people who like to stay out really late in Vegas, and sleep in a little bit. We complained again, and received two days of complimentary resort fees. Aside from that, be prepared for some silly rules. Don't go to the adult pool without your ID?even if you're over 50. You may not look under 21, but "it's their policy". Nor can you take flavored water onto the rooftop pool area to keep yourself hydrated in the sun (be prepared to pay exorbitantly for your drinks up there). While it's certainly far from a ghetto hotel, and to their credit they do work with their guests, it really shouldn't be necessary to have to deal with so many issues while on vacation. We've decided to stay somewhere else next time. The Stratosphere, in our opinion, has passed its best before date.

« If it wasn't for the hefty (everybody has it though) resort fee... »

As ever, a lovely room and SO comfortable. We stayed in a select king bed room. It's great that Stratosphere have continued to offer free parking, something which is becoming harder and harder to find these days for the main hotels along the Strip. The buffet was nice too, except that they could have had some ice-cream for dessert. This time, they only had frozen yogurt available. The price of the buffet was good though, comparatively to the other hotels.

    « In the clouds »

It is off the beaten path but there is a lot to do there - a red neck comedy show was excellent, Their happy hour in the roof top bar is a great view and reasonable very tasty appetizers and drinks. Little shops, nice décor, casino all the amenities I didn't stay there but certainly to go for the view, shows and dinner is very nice and highly recommended.

« Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed »

Not impressed. Had I paid full price for this, I would have rated lower. I paid $25 a night with my vacation club discounts. My expectations were low, so I am not TOO terribly disappointed. It's way at the end of the strip so a good 1.5 to 2 mile walk to all the strip hotels. BUY A BUS PASS or expect to pay a lot of money in Uber. The location is sketchy as well. Kind of a rough area. Bums are EVERYWHERE outside. Upon checking in, we went to our room to relax for a little bit before going outside. When we got into our room there was a half full Starbucks on the nightstand, tweezers, an 18 cent voucher someone got from a machine and all their stuff in our room safe. The floor had blue stuff on it, the toilet seat looked filthy but was just chipped paint and the sink in the bathroom didn't work. We had maintenance and security come up to take care of the safe issue. We went to lay down to relax and we noticed the bed was loaded with hair. We called the front desk and they just sent up a new key for a new room. No apology. Upon our arrival to the same room 5 floors up, we noticed the lights do not work well there either. Very dim in all the rooms but at least no hair in this bed!!!! The next day we got up and went to the strip. We came back to rest after walking a lot and it sounded like either an airplane or jackhammer was going. Called the desk and they were aware of it. They refunded our resort fee of 30 or 35 for the day. The second day had the same noise. When we called to see when it would end, they were rude and just said "in a couple hours". Really? Walls of the room were very thin as well. I'm sure because it's an old building. Luckily we had good neighbors. The adult pool is kind of a joke. It's tiny and not a lot of seating. We liked the family pool better for our 91 degree day.

    « 10 days of fun ! »

Just back from ten nights at the Stratosphere Can't fault our stay Had a room on 19th floor so a reasonable view and could watch the sky divers! Clean hotel with friendly staff The Tower is a must Went up in the day and again at night Ten dollars each for hotel guests for a day pass but you get that money back on drinks and food so well worth it !

First and last time I will stay there it was horrible am in the hospitality business and was disappointed with the room I was given it was a smoking room as my husband smokes so I was expecting the halls and room to have a smell of smoke but it was overwhelming the service it self was just a nightmare sheets seemed new but when pulled back there was dried up blood spots on one of the beds along with burn spots, no coffee maker, no fridge/microwave shower curtain was dirty/worn it just felt dirty never again. Here are some pics that the web site does not show you

« Turned out to be good »

My partner and I got a standard room 2 king beds. We had driven for 6 hours that day so we're a bit tired we decided to go to bed early so we could stay up all weekend. At 2am some random people managed to get into our room with their keycard. All of us were shocked they had gone into the wrong room. So they left we thought we would sort it out in the morning. Then a security guy comes and knocks on our door At 5am telling us the hadn't checked out, my partner told him we had just checked in he left then came back 30mins later saying the registration desk needed to see our I.d ?? so I went down to the lobby (was pretty damn annoyed at this point) in my Pjs with a jacket over top. And told the lady all the things that had happened that night. She seemed to be unaware of the fact that we had been asked to come down 3 times at this point. She spoke to a manager and apologised then upgraded us to a super fancy suite. (Which had a spa inside the room) we moved immediately because we just wanted to sleep. The rest of our stay was really good! If they didn't upgrade us I think I would have given them a 2.

« Good value for money »

The casino is loud and a bit smokey in places ( but not overpowering) but that's the norm for Vegas. The hotel offers nice rooms for affordable prices although the 'resort tax' is higher than the actual room price. I hate that. I don't gamble, didn't use the pool, did not even go up into the tower and still pay almost 40$ a day for being allowed to be a guest. What an annoying (Vegas) way to hide the real price for the room! The room was clean, all fine. Don't expect a Strip view because you cannot see the strip! It's too far away and the view is obstructed by apartment buildings and the big tower in front.... The hotel acknowledges that and they nowadays call it 'city view' instead of 'Strip view). Could have been 4 stars for price quality but I subtracted a star for the way you get mislead. A 32$ dollar room actual costs you > 70$.

    « Roaches »

Gross. I pd my resort fee but the ladies next to me complained and only pd 112$ resort fee for 2 rooms! Internet is hit and miss, 5 cops there one day and day of check out, I went to check drawers and there was a huge roach!!! If i take one home I'll b so mad. Complained to manager, rude and didn't care and I got 37$ credit. DON'T STAY HERE

« Nice room hot shower check-in process over an hour »

Came in on a Wednesday early evening. Hotel was open and Airy and great restaurants on the bottom. This is a recent remodel so it's much better than it used to be. The problem is the check-in. The check-in took 1 hour and 10 minutes. That is unacceptable and much slower than hotels twice as large as this one. Because of this time standing in line I am unlikely to stay here again. Always trust my reviews

    1
    « Horrible Experience »

I do not recommend! Upon check-in I waited about 30 minutes. Once we got to the desk the clerk tried to get me to upgrade to another room. I refused the $20 credit (not sure what it is) as this is some other way to charge your credit card. Upon arrival to the room we had a strong odor of bleach. We attempted to freshen up and found that the sink did not drain very fast, causing us to be delayed. My girlfriend was putting on her makeup at the dresser and said the corner smelled like vomit. (hence the bleach). We finally text the front desk and they agreed to move us to another room. This room was old with the door hanger missing in the bathroom and the air conditioning did not work well. However, we decided we would not move anymore. The other issue - everywhere you go, the cigar and cigarette smoke is overwhelming! The positive is they have a few people there with excellent customer service skills.

    « Nice Hotel »

I've been there in august 2015 with my usband. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel si just a little far away from the center of Las Vegas Strip. Nothing special, i think that it can be a little cheaper..

    « INVASION OF PRIVACY? »

Stratosphere treats leaving your ?DO NOT DISTURB' sign on the door during your stay as a CRIME. Here's why I state that? We had a prior experience of lost properties after housekeeping was in our room, therefore, when staying at hotels we leave the ?Do Not Disturb? sign on our door and keep our room CLEAN & ORGANIZED ourselves. NO EXCEPTION to our stay at Stratosphere. On the 3rd day of our stay at approx. 3:05pm there was ONE KNOCK at the door. I went to answer the door, thinking it was my husband & son, when the door was opened by whom it seemed a male security officer & housekeeping female. The man immediately held the sign on the door knob and in a rattling motion showed it to me saying: ?since you've had this on your door we need to check the room.? As he's still talking to me he made a head motion to the female and she walked into the room. Then, she walked back towards me and said, ?unless you want us to come back later, but it'll be security checking your room.? I responded, ?you've already BARGED IN, go ahead do what you need to do.? She went to the bedroom phone & starting dialing (some codes). I asked what is this again, she said, ?we need to make sure nothing is damaged in the room'. In the meantime, my daughter was in the shower & I heard the water stopped running. I told her we had some ?people? in the room, to make sure she was dressed before coming out. Female walked out & they both left without addressing me in any way. I said, ?I guess, thanks for checking on us? THEIR LACK OF COURTESY WAS UNBELIEVABLE!... There was NO PRIOR notice/call of them coming to the room They DID NOT wait for me to open the door They DID NOT identify themselves They DID NOT ASK for permission to enter the room I called front desk, Barbara suggested we go and speak to the manager. We went to a receptionist and were referred to Julio Gonzales, Ofc Supervisor, from whom at no point we heard a word of apology, and when I said I felt I was treated as ?a criminal? just gave me a blank stare. My husband asked he wanted a written Report. A form was given to us, which we turned in to security and a week later have NOT heard from anyone from Stratosphere?SURPRISE!! At checkout, I asked Susan, receptionist, to please give us a copy of our receipt, she said ?printer was NOT WORKING? but she'd email it to me?NOT!! To Add, the hotel location is not good, (homeless people), shower had lots of dark rings around It, as if it had not been cleaned in a long time.

« Avoid the ?Elite Premier View? rooms »

Room 21-102. Avoid the ?Elite Premier View? rooms ? because there is NO view from the tiny 3 foot wide window. Room was very dark due to no natural light. Room looks bigger because they have compressed the bathroom ? tiny tiny toilet and shower (similar in size to an aircraft toilet). You have to be comfortable to be naked in front of other occupants because there is no space to dry yourself in the shower. Sink is in the bedroom not the bathroom. Room service was very poor ? I was advised to ring them every day - otherwise they will NOT make up your room (on one day ? housekeeping did not answer the phone for over 2 hours). You now need to pay for entry to the tower ? which used to be free to residents.. I wrote a glowing review for this hotel when I visited 4 years ago ? unfortunately I will never stay here again and I can no longer recommend this hotel.

    « Great Family Trip »

The hotel staff were very accommodating. We upgraded to the select rooms and our windows were nice and big over looking the mountains. The pool was big enough and not crowded. We always were able to find loungers by the pool. There were several hot tubs and they did not mind letting the kids warm up in them too. The all day pass for the tower, rollercoaster and Big Shot was a hugh hit with the kids! The rooms were clean and nice, especially for the price we paid. Although, I saw some people not rate the buffet very high, our family thought it was quite good! There is also a Starbucks and McDonald's in the hotel, which was convenient. The ice makers were a hike from our room. And it was pretty easy to hear noise in the hallways, but it did not bother us much. Basic and select rooms do not have coffee pots or refrigerators, you need to up grade to get those amenities. Overall, good value for the price.

    2
« The view from the tower is a must see. The hotel... not so much. »

The staff was great! From the bellmen who check your bags to the doorman who gives you advice on how not to get scammed by the cab drivers, everyone was great. (except that one blackjack dealer... she was unpleasant.) It's clearly and older hotel. The hotel's public areas were nice. The room was ok. Nothing fancy and a little dated, but clean and comfortable. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway. The food was expensive! $40 for 2 Hotdogs, 2 orders of Onion Rings, and 2 bottles of water!!! Fortunately, there's a Denny's next door. But THE REASON that I will not stay there again: The Location is horrible! It's in an economically depressed/less developed area of Vegas. It's at the extreme end of the strip. Very inconvenient if you like to walk around. It is a short walk, through a sketchy neighborhood, to the monorail. I know Vegas isn't Disneyworld. And that's not Stratosphere's fault. But,honestly, we never felt totally safe outside the hotel.

    2
« A convenient place to rest with casino attached. »

The room was not something that I would want to continue staying in. The carpeting, tub were not fully cleaned. The decor was not appealing in my opinion. Overall, it is great to have a room there for convenience reasons if that is what you are looking for. If not, maybe consider a more higher costing hotel/ suite like the MGM . 2 stars ????

    « Disappointment »

I am not spoiled boy and was in bad places, but here really it was big disappointment when we arrived there. It's very old facility and looks like cheap motel.I can't say something good except may be attractions on top,but you can visit it,but to stay...

    4
« Amazing presentation, lacking in delivery »

I was enthralled with the architecture of this place until we checked in and found the room just mediocre. It needs upgrading and feels dated. We had a good time here, but it definitely paled in comparison to other resorts we've stayed in.

    « FEELS LIKE A MOTEL 6 2X THE PRICE!! »

If your looking for a bare amenities lack/terrible customer service this is the hotel for you. Recently bought by Best Western but none of the hospitality of a Best Western. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!! If you do stay bring your own COFFEE POT!! Only suites have coffee pots if your lucky!! WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN!!!

« Lots of things to do »

Had a nice 3 day stay at the hotel. Pool was closed, however it was not pool weather. Lots to do, amusement rides, great views, shopping. Bus stop out front and short trip to the fremont experience. Staff was friendly too

    « Disappointed »

Stayed here for my stay in Las Vegas must say I was very disappointed hotel needs a good revamp very tired looking. When we arrived asked for upgrade on our room as this was advised, told by receptionist that it was one of the best rooms my god I would hate to see what the one we had booked was like. Will not stay here next time

    5
« I loved the stay!! tower is romantic!! »

It was nice to stay and your close to the monorail/ walking distance!! I spent the evening up in the tower and its the BEST view I have ever seen in Vegas!! Its a great place to stay I recommend it !! Go early and get a spot, Its free to go up to this part if staying there and have drinks and apps.

    4
    « Just fine »

As long as you don't expect luxury, it's just fine. My expectations were very low, so I was pleasantly surprised. The room/bed/bathroom were large and clean, if basic, but I just needed a place to sleep. The service at the hotel was good. The clientele is definitely lower middle class, but that's what you would expect.

    1
    « Not What Expected »

The location was too far from the main strip. had to take the monorail to get to any action. As soon as you walk in the main doors you smell mildew. Check-In took awhile, because the front desk clerk tried to check us in at the same time as friends we met from out of the country. It just delayed the process. The rooms were a little rundown. The first night, our A/C didn't work and it was very warm in the room. I requested another room and it was promptly changed. Of course we had unpacked and put everything in the dresser and closet, only to have to repack and unpack again. The sink in the bathroom had a clog and filled up every time we washed our hands or brushed our teeth. A lot of the staff we encountered were ill-tempered, especially at the concierge's desk. We asked a question and they answered with an attitude. We also encountered the same attitudes at the buffet. Speaking of the buffet... there was a line with about 25 people and they had one register open while another woman was just standing there along with a manager. We would not recommend the Stratosphere to anyone!

    « The Stratosphere: "Nothing's Changed Here"!! »

When checking in the other day, the Valet asked me if I'd been here before. I told him it had been 7 years ago, back when I first started coming to Las Vegas. He said " Nothing's changed here!!" and he was so right. Now that I have been in all of the LV casinos, I can say - the Strat is the low end motel 6 of the big strip hotels. The prices may look good, but after facility fees, it's no real bargain. The casino, rooms - the entire facility - has not had any work done to it in the way of refresh. I had a deluxe view room - the window was VERY small and overlooked the really bad area the property is located in. And while it was clean, it was very spartan unremarkable and not at all "deluxe". To be fair, some of the restaurants are great and the slots were pretty loose for me. If you don't care and are on a strict budget, the Strat is fine. But you're on vacation - spend a little more and get into a resort and room you can feel good about!!

    1
    « Not a good option »

We were there to celebrate my birthday and just to hang around with friends. The only good thing I can say is that the room was ready before 3pm. But very old rooms, they don't have safe in most of the rooms. Unless you pay an up grade for a better room. When we arrive they charge us 150 usd extra for a ?mandatory fee? that the reservation on line never mention. And It wasn't written on the papers. But it was mandatory. We were there 4 nights in room 9104, the lights in the bathroom didn't work properly, the bathtub was clogged twice, so we end the last night with no lights in the bathroom area. The room was old, old trash can and some rust items. At the end we spend most of the time outside. All the meals we took them outside.

« great hotel - the remodeled parts, great staff ... distressed location »

The Stratosphere offers great value for money. Many rooms have been refurbished and are clean, comfortable and excellent. Throughout the hotel, the staff are friendly and professional. The tower experience is truly breath-taking. Also parking is free - unlike many hotels on The Strip. However, the immediate surroundings are distressed - and need to be demolished. Too many undesirables at night.

    5
« Way to get to observation deck for 'free' »

Me and my husband wanted to go to the bar in the Stratosphere Tower. We went up to where you buy tickets for the rides and over to the left was another desk advertising the bar. The lady there said we could go up to the Sky Lounge on floor 107 for free. When we were on the way up in the lift the attendant said if we kept our drink receipts we could go up another floor to 108 in the lift. The view from the Sky Lounge is great. It's one floor above the revolving restaurant which you can look down on. We weren't forced to buy a drink in the bar, there was nothing to stop us wandering around to enjoy the view. We were lucky to be there for happy hour (between 5pm and 7pm) 2 of the same drinks for the price of 1. We stuck with cocktails which were about $17 each. We managed to get a good table over looking the strip. When we had finished our drinks we got the lift up to the next floor with our drinks receipt. There is a gift shop here and also the Sky Bar which was a bit dull. There was no one in it. From this floor you can go up the stairs to the observation deck which I think is normally $20 each. There is a great view of the strip from here and also the scary Stratosphere rides. So we just had to pay for drinks to get up to the observation deck for free.

« Excellent food, rooms, gambling, and drinks. »

My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time and never left the hotel.. It had everything we needed. I guess we walked one day to see the rain in another location and the other hotels outside.

    « Just okay »

Room was clean and well kept, and there were decent amenities within the hotel (shopping restaurants) but the hotel itself is disappointing. The stench of cigarette smoke makes even walking through the casino unpleasant, and it's quite far off the strip. That said, there is a bus stop for the Deuce right outside the door, which made getting to the nicer hotels and Freemont St a breeze. If I could suggest something to the hotel owners - forcing taxis and rideshares to pull up to the back makes a horrid first impression for your guests. I nearly cancelled the reservation from the back of the cab without even going inside because it looks like an absolute dump from the taxi area.

« My unfortunate experience - Would definitely not stay again! »

When we first checked in the experience was fine, asked if we wanted to upgrade to a fancier room for 20 more dollars per night - turned this down because we wanted a non-smoking room. But nice to have the option! For paying 32 dollars a night for resort fees the you would think you would get some of amenities. You most definitely do not. We had a group of 6 people (plus another group of friends) try to use the pool around 8pm (pool is supposed to be open until 11) - we were told it was going to be closing because nobody was up there. We went down to the front desk to bring this to their attention - the front desk people RUDELY told us that the pool is closed due to inclement weather. Not sure who lied and who was telling the truth. It's kind of insulting when you're paying to stay somewhere and the staff cannot be honest. I then just asked for a break down of the resort fee and what is included in it, the pool was on the list. The front desk people then said the pool is an amenity and not included in the resort fee. So again, I got different answers from different people. The internet was also very slow - so if you need internet expect to use data on your phone to load any emails. I wasn't trying to stream anything - I just wanted to reply to a few emails. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk they told me I would need to contact their internet company (tech support). I was kind of shocked that I would need to spend my vacation on the phone with their tech support. It's 2018, proper internet should be provided to hotel guests - especially ones traveling from outside the country that may need to contact home. It was not just my device everyone in my group had the exact same problem. Again, very disappointed to be paying a 32 dollar resort fee for a service I did not receive. The manager also tried to compare the hotel to Caesar's Palace indicating they have increased their resort fee so we should be lucky to only be paying so little... I'm sure Caesar's gives their customers proper amenities. They then offered us a bunch of 2 for 1 drink coupons and told us we would only need to pay half the resort fee for the first day. BUT upon checking out we were charged for the entire day, I don't have the time to argue with rude people again. So will take the hit for the resort fee for services I did not receive. Avoid this place

« Brilliant day, fab cocktails »

We visited Strasophere in Las Vegas, 2 friends went on the rides, then to cocktail bar, our Cocktail waitress Irene, was absolutely brilliant, giving advice on cocktails and food, she was attentive but not a pest, funny and extremely friendly, what a lovely lady, worth her weight in gold, Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone who travels to Las Vegas. The views were amazing

« Treatment of me Guest »

We reserved our room and was told we could be in the renovated section for a few more dollars, which we paid. Upon arrival, the room had been given away. We were offered a upgrade, to our surprise, the phone did not work, the locking mechanism was broke and the water from the tub and the shower was backing up into the sink and the smell was putrid.

« The top class hotel at las vegas »

I stayed in this hotel 2 nights with my wife for family holiday. We are sr. citizen. we have vast travel experience outside India. The Tower is a fantastic structure in the Vegas skyline with a magnificent view of the night lighting Las Vegas. It has a big fine dining place in GF. It has one rotating restaurant 106 floors above the Strip. it has big casino inside, one cinema hall. The hotel is room is very neat and clean but without any facility of in-room tea coffee facility. The backside of hotel may not be safe at night for outside foreign guests. The toilet and bathroom place is neat and clean. The market place is very near to this hotel and anybody can take cheap food outside.

$156pp for RT Air and hotel at Stratosphere from Austin with Allegiant Air. The whole package was awesome for the price!! The hotel was good enough and the lobby bar was excellent! The restaurant at the top is incredible!!

    « Birthday trip »

Myself and my husband stayed here for a week, the hotel is halfway between the main strip and Fremont street. The strip is walking distance away roughly 2 miles away. The room was clean and tidy. Would stay here again xx

    « Super Smokey »

The Strat is pretty old and on the older part of the strip but the rooms were nice, fitness facility needed some work and was a little hard to find and the onsite restaurants were good. If you do stay here be sure to take the monorail up the street to get to closer things on the strip then walk. Another recommendation is to be sure to pay to go the very top and enjoy the view. For the price it was worth the trip

    « Comfortable stay »

We stayed here in July 2017 with a group tour by taketours company. Our check in was from back entry of hotel. Group manager brought keys of rooms for all guests. No experience of reception desk but it was a smooth check in. Large hotel having casino ,restaurant on ground floor. Nice large rooms with all modern facilities ,clean linen. Bathroom very good. Guests are allowed to go to top of Stratosphere tower free of cost. Stunning night views of Las Vegas from tower. Inside souvenir shop offered discounts to guests.

    « Great room on 21st floor »

Our room was bright clean and fresh. Beautiful view of the strip. Great hotel staff. Casino host comp us a meal for a 100.00 value. The roxys diner down stairs was great for breakfast. And McCauls steak house had great prices. Ate at the top of the tower. Joel was our server. He was awesome! Meal was spectacular! Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation.

« Hotel, bar and restaurant was excellent »

Stayed 3 days and tried both bar and restaurant. The restaurant was very modern inspired and didn't serve standard american food. Which was a relief after days of junk food intake. The Surf'n'Turf is famous and delicious.

I was not impressed with this hotel at all and will never return. Not up to the standard I have become familiar with at best western very disappointed. They did not even accept my best western loyalty card. Platinum .......Dis not give me my points for a seven day visit. Crooks and disgusting if Best western will not reward me for my visit I guess our relationship is over. Very disappointed with the front staff.

« Wonderful room, hotel views, awesome thrill rides but beware of verbal vs actual costs. »

We arrived around 2:30 and got checked-in immediately even though check-in is 3pm. Check-in clerk was very friendly. We booked the 'elite' room for the city view. It was well worth the extra $20. I booked over the phone. Christina was very friendly but she told me that the total price would be $137.43 for both nights. I verified everything with her. They charge just for the room charge initially and then you pay the rest when you get to the hotel. The room charge was $55.26. When we checked-in. The clerk said that the rest of the charge was $126.38. Now I know that is way more than $137.43 but I decided I must have remembered wrong and that $137,43 must have not included the resort fees. But once in the room, I never could figure any mixture of fees to come up with the $137.43-verbal or the $181.64-actual. Intended to talk to the front desk but got busy and didn't do it. Just got a printout of actual charges. Still didn't make any sense how Christina came up with the $137.43. Anyway we were pretty happy with the room and couldn't complain about $90 a night. Room was very nice. Bed was very nice. Plenty of room. Coffee was very good. Needed more coffee and lotion and housekeeping came up within 10 minutes of calling. View was wonderful. Bathroom was nice. The only down side was that the a/c didn't work properly. So part of the time the room was muggy, therefore too hot. When we took showers the window fogged over so you couldn't see out. The casino is full of smoke but once you get a little ways away from the casino floor, the smoke is gone. The reduced fee for the views on the top of the hotel are well worth it. The thrill rides are well worth it. They are very scary but you have to do it. We did the unlimited so went during the day and then went back at night. Oh my goodness at night the view was awesome. My favorite was the big shot. The view was the best-spectacular. We went several times and I would have done it more but hubby was cold. It was the end of February after all. My least favorite was the insanity because it was hard to look at the views since you are spinning but a lot of the people I visited with loved it. The xscream was the scariest for me. You must sit in the front to get the best effect. The stratosphere is on one end of the strip so you have to walk a long ways or some other transportation to get to the action of the rest of the hotels. We liked walking so it was okay. We were very surprised that several of the shops and restaurants in the hotel were very reasonably priced. Hubby got a Las Vegas zippered sweatshirt for $20. At the gift shop at the top of the hotel I got a light weight zippered sweatshirt that said 'stratosphere' on it for $30. Plus a big grocery style beautiful Las Vegas strip bag for $5. You can walk to the corner about 1/4-1/2 mile to souvenir shops and a liquor store, Turn left from there on E Sahara in the strip mall by McDonalds and there is a true Thai restaurant- Thai Pepper. inside the Stratosphere you have everything you need. There is a Starbucks coffee shop on the Casino floor. A McDonalds upstairs along with Mexican, Chicago Sandwich and more. There is pizza, icecream besides the Stratosphere restaurants listed on there website. We went to the buffet. It is a typical buffet. Service is fast and friendly and it is convenient. Over all we were very happy we chose the Stratosphere.

    « Affordable, decent hotel »

Took my then-10 year old son to Vegas during his spring break. I was worried about craziness during spring break but we didn't encounter any of that. I decided on the Stratosphere because the cost was so reasonable. I paid $10 extra a night for a mini fridge, as we love having cold bottled water or anything else that needs to be refrigerated. We opted for valet parking, which is free, and that didn't take long at all to drop off or pick up. The room was decent, we asked the front desk person to hook us up and we got a nice room on the 7th floor. The breakfast buffet was decent priced, but the buffet wasn't anything special. We utilized the outdoor pool. We got there around 11am so it wasn't crowded. The top of the Stratosphere was windy but provided us great views of the strip. I would definitely recommend this hotel for families.

« Spectacular view, infrastructure is oldish »

The view is definitely spectacular. you pay 20USD for the Roof-access - if you pay 35USD then all the "thrill" rides are included. The catapult "big shot" is very nice and surprising. The Insanity carousel was not my thing it is more about getting sick than being thrilled. The X-Scream is quite spectacular. Beginning March it was very windy and quite chilly - make sure you bring a jacket with. The Casino atmosphere was not very friendly. You had to wait forever to get a drink while playing. No Wifi in the area.

    « Haven't stayed since 2003 »

We decided to stay at the Stratosphere for a couple of nights before headed North for Christmas. We weren't really going to go to the central part of The Strip except for a Mariah Carey Christmas concert at Caesars Palace. We realized that even though the hotel is a discount deal we needed to be able to walk somewhere interesting. Stratosphere is alright but I just don't like being this far from everything. Hopefully the open space between the hotel and the interesting part of The Strip will be built on soon to close the gap. The standard rooms are horrible. Yes they're really low-cost but I would rather have more at a higher rate. So we upgraded to the better rooms and lived with the somewhat higher standard. We had breakfast at the buffet in the ground floor restaurant and it was actually quite nice. I was pleasantly surprised. However I wasn't expecting parts of the hotel to be just as the first time I stayed in 1998.

« Best views of the city with your feet on and off the ground »

The views from the hotel roof are unrivalled by any other building on the strip. Being the tallest of the hotels, it boasts the best views. If you're not a thrill seeker, then you can travel to the top in Vegas' fastest elevator just for the views. But if you're like myself then it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to ride some of the scariest rides imaginable. Each of the three rides differs immensely but share the same common factor. They are all on top of the tallest building in law Vegas. When a helicopter flies past you at eye level then you know you're high. Well worth the money

    « Amazing Views »

We stayed at the hotel hoping it would be top the line. Our room was very run down and had rust on the faucets and stains on the wall. The room was very small and didn't seem like quality. We also hoped it would be a quiet hotel because it was away from the Vegas strip, unfortunately, it was very loud from midnight-5am. The hotel did provide excellent shops on the 2nd floor and beautiful views from the top of the tower. If you are comfortable with the noise and older hotel, then I would highly recommend it.

    « Pleasant stay, clean »

Stayed in this hotel on the 23rd floor with a view towards the strip. Had a good view of the jumpers from the tower. We had a deluxe room I think it was. Room was spacious and the bathroom was clean ( big selling point for me) however it had an open shower and I was chilly while showering and no good place to hang towel to reach upon getting out. Also ladies no exhaust fan for the hubby lol The room was average with a nice large TV. The bed was just ok. Firm and felt a bit lumpy to us. Hotel was clean, but it is at the far end on the strip which is keeps the noise down a bit, and it's a bit of a walk to the hustle and bustle. Invest in the bus ticket if you don't have a car. Also the area around the hotel at night felt a bit.. sketchy. But not too much to feel unsafe walking with my husband from the bus stop. Not a big selection of "fast food" type eateries like some hotels. The buffet was priced well but the food was not good. Read other reviews and was hesitant doing it but the hubby wanted to do 1 buffet and the cost of the others were out of the question. Even he didn't like it and he eats anything. Overall it was a good stay.

    « Crap crap crap »

Everything was horrible at this place. They promise the world but do not deliver. Paid for an upgrade room, ya right.. it was right beside the elevator. That's all you hear all night. Pool wasn't open yet we still had to pay the full price on the resort fee. Casino was very smoky, hotel staff were rude. I will never stay here again.

    « Huge Letdown »

We just started our stay and my experience has been frustrating from the beginning and we have only been here 30 minutes. As soon as we walked in the door, we meet a friendly face, and she asks if we are checking in and we respond with yes. We though wow, it is so nice that the hotel has people at all entrances greeting their patrons...(we came in the back, by the self park garage). Turns out, that was not the case at all... she was trying to sell us time-share packages. I have been travelling for 8 hours and all I want to do at this point is get to my room, just frustrating. So then we go to check in, and I booked two rooms and they tell me there is only one and ask to see the confirmation. They asked if it could be under another name and I gave them the only potential names.. he said it was under neither. So after 15 minutes of holding on the phone, he comes back with oh it's under this name... the one I gave him to begin with. My husband and I have been to Vegas a few times before and we know to expect resort fees. What we didn't expect was $40 a room/night fees. Whatever.. What happens in Vegas.. but what frustrated me further is when we get to our room, it looks like a room I could pay $29.99/night elsewhere. It is a relatively large room but has minimal furniture.. It looks like they were robbed. $200 in resort fees led me to believe I was walking into something else. Unfortunately, will not be returning next time.

« Lovely spacious room and good base for exploring Vegas »

Hotel room was very spacious and clean and comfortable. Staff polite and food outlets were excellent. Used this hotel as a base to explore the strip, deuce bus stops right outside and can take you to the strip and Fremont street. Would recommend to other travellers.

    « Pleasant surprise! »

The reviews were not too great on this place but we loved it! The room was huge, clean and the beds were extremely comfortable! The reception staff were super helpful when we needed an extra nights stay! The location is abit out but nothing that a short Uber or cab ride can't fix! Have heaps of Restaurants and the view from the sky lounge/bar was incredible! Would definitely stay again!

    « Average accomodation »

The hotel is average in maintenance and room cleaning. i would recommend this only for price and free parking. is a smell a cigar smoke in every corner of the hotel. the room looks old and rubbish. the bath room is quite small, the good thing is about changing towels at every 2 days. the plates from room service stays one day on the floor until some stuff pick-up

    1
« Run down - too far away - Tower expensive »

you need lots of alcohol to stop there !! Rooms are run down, Water run off blocked - i.e. you get a bath for your feet and ankles when taking a shower - despite the water running from the shower head is so sparse, that most of the water seem to evaporate before it gets down on you. Room with a view !!!! - straight on the building's mega AC units !! Way too far away from the interesting places on the strip - you need a bus or a taxi to get to the attractions. Tower visits very expensive even for hotel guests

« Rough experience at first but customer service was superior »

We stayed at the Stratosphere for an out of town work summit. We decided to get the cheapest room at this hotel. Let's just say you get what you pay for at this hotel. The room instantly had a very distinct and strong smell. The bathroom was was a nightmare. Mold on the sinks, walls of the showers, and the corner of the bathtub had a lot of dirt. It wouldn't surprise me if the tub caves in at some point. We had to call the front desk because the bath and sink would not drain properly. They did have maintenance up right away which added a kudos. We were contemplating on switching hotels totally due to the room being grungy. The final straw was when there were yellow stains all over the bed spread and sheets. Anyone going to Vegas knows that the beds need to be especially clean and finding stains a no go for me. I decided to call the front desk once again and explain the condition of the room. Their customer service was great and they upgraded and switched our room immediately The new room instantly felt like a new a clean and comfortable room. The view was very nice as well. The beds were a lot more comfortable, and the bathroom was very spacious. The shower was large and had double sinks which is ideal for people sharing a room. Overall, the quality of the first room was a buzz kill for me, however, the new room was everything I was expecting for the price. There is a nice selection for food options, and there is a restaurant at the very top It would be worth upgrading your room and do not stay in the cheapest option. Only flaw is that our Uber trip was around $11 each way. The casino was very nice and there is a Starbucks located right by the Uber pick up. Uber pick up is in the back of the hotel not the front for anyone staying. Great hotel overall

« But they tried hard... »

The hotel is a little dated in the lobby area and the casino floor. My room was pretty nice. I believe it was one of the updated room. The food was pretty good, and the service was excellent. However, there were some problems. I was there for a conference, but no one knew where the event was in the hotel. I don't blame the staff, but I do think the hotel management needs to examine some of their processes. My room was comfortable and clean, and I slept like a baby. I think the hotel has extremely competitive prices, so if you are a budget traveler, I believe the stratosphere is a good deal.

    2
    « Not what I expected »

I would highly suggest to stay at another hotel. I thought I did my research well but I guess I made a mistake. Walls are thin, it's not as clean as expected and it's too far from other casinos. We checked in and got to the room only for 7 min later a maintenance-man came knocking to check on a leak that should have been fixed. I would think that would have been done before we got in the room. Than as we enter and leave the hotel they stop couples for a timeshare presentation. They stopped us before we checked in under the pretense since we are guests we get complimentary gifts. We said no only to be stopped 2 more times where we gave in the third time. Still even after agreeing, they continued to stop us and we just have to now tell them we bought in to their presentation. I highly recommend staying somewhere else. With the cost of the room and hotel fees and Lyft rides. We could have stayed in the middle of the strip. The beds at la Quinta are more comfortable.

« Great view, awful communication »

Having made the mistake of taking the shady walk at night from Freemont Street to Stratosphere, I was somewhat grateful to arrive alive. Buying tickets is easy and the view is stunning, two insane rides are offered for those braver than me. However on the night I went, every bar and restaurant at height was closed for charity events, this wasn't mentioned anywhere when buying tickets on site and saying I was planning to grab a drink up there. Reasonable price and a great view, worth stopping off at for an hour .

    « Smelly Hotel »

Just came back from staying at this place, first night we checked in our room 17024 was old and run down. The bath was still dirty and had hair in it. Toilet hadn't even been cleaned. Next day we asked for an upgrade, that cost us another $120. It was a better room on the 22nd floor, but the smell in the hallways and in the room was atrocious. The room always smelt even when I bought air freshener. This hotel needs a lot of work. It's to old. Also it's to far away from everything and is in a very rough area. If you can, don't stay here. It's cheap and nasty and I would never stay there again.

    « Needs a Refurbishment. »

Compared with the other hotels on the strip, this hotel is looking old and tired. We stayed here whilst visiting the CES 2018 exhibition. Booked late and so not many hotels to choose from. The hotel/casino floor is very dark and dinge. Décor is bland. Whilst all casino's allow smoking, the air filtration does not work and so the place smells like an old ash tray - not pleasant, especially for a non-smoker. We had booked a basic room, but was offered for $25 a day an upgrade to one of their new rooms; so we did. The rooms are relatively small compared with US hotels. The open wardrobe, the shelf you could write your name in the dust. Their was not toiletries the first day and we found a previous customers sock on the bed side table - very poor. The upgrade room offers a coffee machine, bigger TV and safe. So the basic room is very basic. There are 2 bars and a number of eating places. But again none inviting. We did go to the bar at the top of the tower. Great view, although the bar is extremely dark and the prices high. We did not try the restaurant below, but it revolves so does offer customers a 360 degree view of Vegas.

    « Trip to Vegas »

had a room on the 5th floor had a beautiful view of the air conditioning units and a brick wall paid around 100 a night hallways smelled of smoke no fridge in room no microwave room was very average. On the good side we ate at the Italian restaurant twice Fellini's food was great, price reasonable, service awesome. Starbucks is the only coffee bar in hotel lineups from 630 am to 9am steady cup of coffee cost 4 bucks.

« Surprisingly quiet night's sleep - just wish check in queue was shorter »

Stayed here for two nights whilst on business. I wasn't expecting that much but to be honest the Stratosphere has some things going for it. First, it is not as big as some of the mega hotels on the strip, so you can get to and from your room pretty easily. Likewise, the casino is not so big that you spend forever trying to find your way around. And, I kinda like the 'old skool' end of town. Room was basic but clean and no disturbances from other rooms. Main complaint is the huge check in queue, 30 minutes wait with only 2-3 check in clerks is just crazy. Why does it have to take so long Stratosphere?

    « Unfortunate... »

I bring my husband on a trip to Vegas for his birthday every year and usually we stay at another hotel. This year, there was a convention at that hotel so it was completely booked. We decided to try the Stratosphere because it's unique and quintessential Vegas and the price couldn't be beat. But I'll say the price is really the only high point of our visit so far. We checked in this morning and they were not going to be able to accommodate the room we originally booked at that time (9am). Which is understandable, but they did have another room available that would be an upgrade and we were offered that...at an extra charge per night. I told them it was my husbands birthday weekend & asked if they would possibly upgrade us for free so we could check in since we had been up since 2am...and I was immediately laughed off and told no. Fine. So we were told we would get a text when the room was ready...no. We finally showed back up in the afternoon and stood in line to check in. Guess what? They had a room available and I never got a text. The room is sub par at best. I was immediately disappointed when we walked in. The bathroom is TINY. One plus - the pillows are good. We have been hounded 4 times so far by some diamond resort people asking to give us free stuff (aka sell us on a timeshare) and we haven't even been here 12 hours. I dread going down to the casino floor for fear of being hassled every few feet. I pretended I wasn't 25 just to get them to leave us alone. Needless to say...we will be trying again to stay at our usual hotel next year and every year following. And if for some reason one year we aren't able to stay at our usual hotel again, we will find another hotel even if it's at a premium. Stratosphere will never be an option again.

    3
    « Adequate »

Hotel is reasonable and equivalent to about a 2.5 g 3star hotel (ie. Travelodge). One thing you have to watch for anytime you check into a hotel in Vegas is their ridiculous resort fees. These vary from hotel to hotel. In our case, the resort fee was almost the same price ($29.99 a night) as the room itself resulting in the cost of our room doubling. WIFI is adequate but slow. This hotel is on the north end of the strip and not even close to the strip so rent a car before you book in here or be prepared to find alternative transportation if you want to get to the most popular part of the strip. If your favourite spot is Freemont Street then this is a good option as Freemont is a shirt cab ride away. Don't walk to Freemont Street from here as the neighbourhoods in between are quite questionable. The room itself was clean but definately dated in it's decor. But check out MJ Live if you come stay here and remember you'll get 25% off your ticket price to any show here if you are staying in the Stratosphere.

    « Pleasantly surprised »

We arrived very skeptical, as we booked during CES and there literally were barely any rooms available in the whole city. Our first impressions were a bit sketchy, as it was on the far northern tip of the Strip in an area of town I wouldn't call entirely great. Initial impressions were of an older hotel that maybe was past its prime: lower ceilings and darker than some of the other newer casinos, with the stale smoke smell. Check-in was easy, quick walk through the casino to the elevator and we were up in our room. We were on a higher floor (in the high 20s), in the newer renovated area - and we were pleasantly surprised. It was clean and quiet for the short amount of time we were there, beds comfortable. Considering how insanely cheap these rooms can be (when CES is not on), it's worth a look. Easy access to Uber from the back entrance and apparently close to the monorail (but we didn't try it - used Uber instead). There is a Starbucks on the main floor near the rear entrance for those so inclined - with pretty steep prices (USD $6.50 for a latte) - there is also a MacDonalds on the second floor for those looking to stay on a budget or more reasonably priced coffees. There is also a 24 hour fast food place with a surprisingly big menu, good for breakfast or late night eats if that's your preference. There are some little shops on the second floor too, where you can buy beer or overpriced souvenirs - as well as an oxygen bar. Overall, for the price you can sometimes get for this hotel, great value. Prices were probably the annual high during CES, but even then we weren't disappointed.

« Great Stay but STINKS of Weed »

We had a great 6 days at this hotel but as another reviewer says a really strong smell of weed, as soon as we got out of the lift on floor 12 (north lifts) it hit you, then when you came out of the room it was strong. I know its legal to buy in Vegas but its illegal to smoke it anywhere but your home and to say that floor 12 is non smoking?????!!! Apart from that we loved it, the rooms are a little tired and a small bathroom in the standard rooms however, they are spot less clean, daily maid service and the beds are very comfortable. Dont be put of by the location some people mention, we though it was perfect as you have a choice where you can go, either up to Freemont Street or down the strip!! There is a bus stop right outside with a ticket machine that takes credit card to buy a daily pass $8 or 3 day pass $20, this can be used on all busses at ease. The duece runs 24 hours and SDX til midnight, so easy and enjoyable to get around. The busses tell you where you are so you cant get lost. Plenty to do in this hotel, lots of eating options and we found the buffet to be best value for money with quality tasty options. Would I stay again, yes I will come back here, just hope they sort the weed smell out!!!

« Treated like criminal with toy BB gun »

If you conceal or open carry avoid this hotel like the plague as you will be asked to leave or find some place other than the hotel to store your firearms. We picked up a BB toy gun from Walmart - a toy widely sold across the U.S. that kids use which security confirmed - but treated like criminals. Housekeeping came into our room 2hrs after checking in (and outside the 9am-5pm notice advertised in the room) to find the BB toy gun with packaging in bin - we went to grab some dinner. Security confirmed it was a toy and no security risk but have a no gun policy - even toy guns apparently. This would mean kids toy guns too if they follow their new policy. Truth be the notice says no firearms in the hotel but according to Riley (customer service supervisor) anything that looks like a gun comes under this policy. A BB toy gun is not a firearm and the projectile rate on these was the lowest available. Btw this toy was in our room and was not been waved around in the hotel. It was bought for our road trip through the desert. Only people to know of it were housekeeping and security. We were locked out of our room. Had 3 armed security guards escort us off the premises through the casino with the toys, as we were advised us we had the option to leave the hotel or remove the toy gun from hotel. We asked if there were any other options for storage. Again advised either leave or remove the toy off premises. We were escorted outside the hotel but once we reached taxis no more interest. When disputed reception wanted nothing to do with it except advise they have a no gun policy, even toys - despite the fact we saw them check in numerous people that day with gun and pistol cases (all safe and responsible shooters who had them securely and properly stored in cases with padlocks) while waiting to check in. As responsible Aussie shooters with the strictest laws we know what a gun case looks like. Riley's comment 'l'm not doing this' twice when challenging the fact no written policy about BB toy guns, explaining the difference between a firearm and a toy under US legislation and comparing people openly carrying bowie knives as opposed to a toy gun. Btw hotel not worried about a knife at all but obsessed about a toy gun that can't hurt a person. When we asked for a list of what the hotel accepts and does not accept they could not provide. Knives though are acceptable- go figure. Apparently Riley is suppose to be upgrading the site to advise both real and toy guns are not accepted at the hotel. Not a place I recommend as apart from the escorted criminal embarrassment by 3 armed security guards over a toy, showers were luke warm, rides were good but not all available and no discount in price. Generally staff were friendly and polite but customer service supervisors have no compassion and no policy to back up what they say is hotel policy. At least later on, one security guard agreed it was a toy and the treatment was over the top. He was the only one to apologise to us. Oh the Sky Lounge was lovely and staff friendly but not enough to want me come back

« Terrible experience, I'll not be back »

We have stayed at the Stratosphere multiple times over the years, but this most recent stay will be our last. I had a three night stay booked and had splurged on the more expensive premium room as a treat. The room itself was clean and comfortable though they've done away with the tub and replaced it with a walk in shower. The shower is beautiful and very modern, but as I don't have a tub at home and was looking forward to a bath was a minor disappointment. No flaw there though the shower itself had no water pressure other than gravity. This was not the dealbreaker however. We went out and upon returning to our room found it had no power. No one at the front desk answered the phone so we went to the lobby to find we were one of a lobby full of upset guests with no power. We were told it was unexpected and they did not know which rooms were affected and power was out in the neighbourhood. (A lie, but I'll get to that in a bit). They ended up having a bellhop go room to room to find one with power, so we packed up by cellphone light and moved. Room number two had power (Yay as I use a CPAP and MUST have power), but it had no water at all. My husband washed up with six oz bottle of drinking water they gave us as consolation for the outage. The next evening we ran into electricians working on the hotel and they informed us the work was planned and each night different blocks of rooms would be affected. Sure enough, our new room was going to be without power in another hour. I'm grateful for the notice and avoiding a repeat of the previous night's chaos. This brings me to the lie: this was planned work. The rooms affected were known beforehand and the surrounding neighborhood was NOT affected. Why on earth would you book into rooms you knew would be affected? At any rate, they confirmed a room area that would not be affected so we requested a room change before the power was cut. Room number three was a downgrade. And all the fixtures were older, but it did have power...and water. It did not however have light in the bathroom. No power there. We spent the night rather than move a fourth time, but this will be our last stay ever! Did they do anything to compensate us for all the hassle? Not really. They offered a one night refund on the resort fee. That is ridiculous. They flat out refused anything beyond that. They really should have comped a meal, or offered us a room on a later stay or something. Instead, we got attitude. I'm not blaming any individual staff member, but communication could have avoided the entire debacle. Don't book into rooms that you know won't have power, and if a multiple night stay will be affected, tell us at booking and let us know we will have to change rooms so we can plan on one move. (As an aside, on a prior stay we had sewage back up into our sink and had to have a room change. During this outage other guests told us they weren't given a new room despite having paid for one and were told they could stay with no power (and no AC) or check out.) Horrible customer service!

    « Very tired hotel »

Very disappointed with this hotel, room was a family hotel with terrible views no safe no kettle.Carpets were worn and housekeeping only replaced towels each day.We had to make our own beds and clean bathroom.Aircon unit was so noisy we could not sleep. Up side is we got back to the hotel at about 23.00 each night.

« Interesting place to visit »

I had been to Vegas 5 times and never managed to get to Stratosphere, so we finally did this. Took a city bus there (had to walk several blocks after getting off, to get to entrance). Had lunch at Roxy's Diner. Good food, but service was poor. Server never brought water and a bus person finally noticed and brought them. Food was OK, price was Ok. Then we visited the top/roof. I rode the Xscream ride - loved it. It is not that long a ride really, but if you don't like heights, then stay away. There is an observation level you can walk around, below the ride level. Do this. There is a nice shop there also. Below that is another level with more shops etc. You can find some good deals on T shirts there. Glad we finally made it here. A bit off the strip and you have to drive or take transportation to get there, but, a neat place. Great views from the top. Price was about $20 (not sure now).

    « Fun fun fun »

Big hotel , as is everything in Vegas !, clean rooms with a good casino , hadn't realised you get free drinks via waitress service while you're playing at a table so that was an added bonus ! only slight downside was it's location - its right at one end of the strip so we did plenty of walking but in Vegas there plenty to see anyway.

    « Was expecting better. »

Food was ok. Roxys being the best of the three that we tried in the hotel. The buffet worked for breakfast but for dinner was barely above institutional level food. The food at McCalls was ok but from the pomp and circumstance they gave us it should have been better. We tried several places for late night ice cream. One restaurant in the retail shops was noit there, another had gone out of business the week we were there. And the McDonalds had a broken ice cream machine for all the 5 days we were there. Good thing Roxys had a good selection of sundaes. The room was clean thanks to what must be a very hard working staff. Room was bare bones. Even with a room upgrade. The wifi was attrocious. Very slow and continually losing connections. Both my husnands and my backs would spasm before morning break from the crappy mattress. He ended up sleeping on the floor. Had to wait in line for a good 45 minutes to check in. Its slightly off the beaten path but workable with a rental car and a good GPS.

    « The Worst »

The rooms were not clean with dust mites everywhere. I went to the front desk to show them pictures of my room and the front desk attendant had an attitude and all she could offer was another dusty room. After waking up in the 2nd room, there was a huge insect crawling on the wall. By this time, I had a horrible cold (not sure if it was from the weather or the dusty rooms). I went down to the front desk again to speak to a manager and the manager, Julio, had a non-apologetic attitude about the whole situation. He told me that he apologized but said it very sarcastic. He told me the best that he could do for me was to refund the resort rates which was not enough for me. His demeanor was as if he was doing me some big favor by refunding the resort fees. I don't live like that at home and do not wish to live like that while vacationing.

« A good hotel, away from the strip with the tallest tower in the city and a decent casino, however worn down rooms »

While the hotel is highly publicized, the rooms were very disappointing as you check in. The hotel is large with various entrances, with a 7-11 close by for basics.. The hotel has the tallest tower in the city with a restaurant and an observation deck, which is open to the guests. The casino is pretty large but a little sad as well, compared to the ones on the strip. However, if you are on a budget, this is a decent hotel to stay in. Staff is nice. Negotiate the hotel buffet for lunch or dinner and it is a nice large spread. Just be aware the hotel is about a 10-minute drive from the main strip.

    « Not bad »

The good: The hotel was clean. The food was good. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The view from our room and the pool area was beautiful. The bad: It takes forever to get to the Strip. Walking isn't a thing I would suggest. The bus option is cheap but it took us half an hour to get from the bus stop by the hotel to New York New York for our show. I, personally hated that. You could Uber/Lyft for about $15 to the strip which seemed high to me but that could have been because CES was in town. Also the "free" WiFi is slow and unreliable so if you're needing to work while there this could be a problem. The last thing is we called to have our room safe fixed so we could actually use it but no one ever came in our 3 day stay. My next trip I will probably stay elsewhere.

    « Ruined birthday »

We went to Vegas for the first time last week for my birthday. When we got to the hotel it was dated and tired looking. I had asked for a handicapped room and was told none were available. Our room had no view, a funny smell and was dirty. The resort fee was twice what I had been told originally and had less things included. We woke up to go for my birthday brunch and had no electricity on the back side of the room and bathroom. I couldn't shower in the dark without assistance. We called down and we're told it would be fixed shortly.....almost two hours later, after several calls and messages we we're told to hit the reset on the blow dryer . A 10 second fix...but I missed my birthday brunch reservations and cancelled our dinner because the day got all pushed back in time. They were rude about the situation and made me feel so embarrassed as a double amputee about the lack of use of my legs and shower in the dark. I would never send anyone there. You do get what you pay for and in their case you get less....dirt, rudeness, and no compassion.

    1
    « Never again »

This was the worst stay ever. Very run down. 3 very non handicapped adults put into a handicap room with no chance of switching according to front desk. Service in casino was slow if at all. Housekeeping did half a job and then told my friend to remove the sweater from the bed or sh would not clean the room at all. Loved Vegas will never enter the Stratosphere again.

    « New Years Eve 2017 »

We recently stayed four nights at the Stratosphere over the New Year's Eve weekend. We were traveling with a large group of family. My biggest complaint about the hotel is that we waited in line for an hour to check-in. When we were leaving, someone in the elevator told me he had just waited in line two hours to check-in. This is totally ridiculous in my opinion. Other downsides include a Smokey atmosphere (I don't smoke) and distance from the main part of the strip. We picked the hotel because it was the cheapest room we could find at a major hotel/casino on the weekend we were traveling. Overall, the hotel and casino are pretty nice. The tower is really cool, and guests can go up in it at a reduced rate of $7. The rooms and hallways weren't kept as clean as I would expect, but also weren't terrible. The restaurants are also really good. We at at McCall's, Fellini's, and the buffet. I was pleasantly surprised at the food quality in all of them. We stayed in an ?Elite Premier View? room because we wanted a refrigerator in the room. There isn't much around the casino within walking distance except a few fast fast food restaurants, a Walgreens, and a souvenir shop.

« Old and Worn, but Management was the Worst!!!! »

The property is very old and worn and in addition my room was not clean. We asked for another room and the manager on duty was rude and unprofessional. The room she gave us was still occupied by another customer. We walked in and to my surprise someone else's stuff was still in the room. I was furious. Went back downstairs and asked for another room and was told we were not getting another room and we could leave. So my party and I left.

    « observation deck »

The rides are subjective to the weather, the weather gods were kind on one of the days and my lungs almost fell out because of the screams, but this was totally worth it! Its fun if you have the appetite for it...

    5
    « Happy Times »

We were not aware that Stratosphere was a partner with Best Western. We had some nice benefits with this as we are members of the Best Western. The room was very large and newly remodeled. We could look out our window and see the beautiful mountains. We could only stay a few days but the price was right. We had great service as well as free Valle service. We enjoyed the dinner at the top as well as the rides.

    « Nice Views - Very Smokey »

Vegas is full of smokers and weed, and you can smell that in the hotels and on the streets so be prepared for that if you dont like the smell. The Stratosphere has smoking and non smoking floors and I would recommend a non smoking floor just to get some fresher air. The hotel is not on the main strip but has some fantastic views, a great swimming pool, a great restaurant inside called McCalls, and the beds are comfortable and the rooms are reasonably quiet. The rooms are a little dated compared to other hotels located closer to the strip but I would recommend and return to the Stratosphere for the staff on the welcome desk, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the comfort and quietness in the buzz of and chaos that is Vegas. Definitely go up and see the view from the tower. Was truly breathtaking (mainly as I am scared of heights, but would do this again).

    « It's OK »

We just stayed here for a family vacation and the Strat is pretty lackluster. The customer service is fantastic and everyone who works for the hotel is super friendly and if you need something they are VERY quick to get it to you. The hotel overall is outdated in some places and the regular rooms leave much to be desired...not enough towels, the blanket wasn't large enough for a king bed and the shower curtain only covered half tub LOL!! The buffet was awful but Roxy's had the best french toast special breakfast so that made up for it. The Legends rock show was a ton of fun and those people are great.

    « A comfortable hotel. »

The receptionists and the bell hops were very courteous and friendly. The room was comfortable and well maintained and provided a nice view of the city. There was no fridge, however. Inexpensive meals were available from the eating places that operated in the hotel. The hotel rates were good.

    4
    « Basic Hotel »

Stayed at the North Tower. Room a little small and very basic. No fridge, no water. Followed a tour, so probably given a room with a huge discount and the whole group stayed on the same level. Free wifi was good.

« Nice value priced hotel »

Bell hops were very friendly as we arrived around 10:30 am, b4 check in and left late after checkout. Check in was very quick and smooth. We got checked in early for no charge. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a group of 7 rooms so they did their best to group on same floor. Basic rooms are adequate but no frills. No coffee maker or mini fridge. The bathroom was so small that the door rubbed on the toilet. We were on 16th floor so had a very nice view. Casino was nice but very tight during our stay. We took in the tower just b4 sunset so we had an amazing daylight and sunset view. We bought a 3 day bus pass for $20 as it is a long way from main strip or Freemont Street and not a good walk after dark . Bus stops are right in front of hotel. We enjoyed the midday sun by the 8th floor rooftop pool and were able to bring our own drinks and food since bars were closed for the season. Pool is not heated so very cold(not as bad after a few cocktails) but the hot tubs were nice. I would stay again for the value and knowing that it is not ?in the center of the action?

    « My wedding. »

The hotel was amazing. Very nice rooms and staff. The top of the world is an amazing revolving restaurant at the top of the hotel. Well worth checking out. Also the have extreme activities you can do at the top of the hotel like bungee jumping. They have a mini mall inside also. One of the best hotels I have been to. Me and my newly wedded wife enjoyed every bit of the time we spent there.

    3
    « Average accommodation »

I enjoyed the night that I spent at this hotel. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The rooftop bar/pool was pretty cool but with poor music. The rides at the top of the hotel are a rip off, they are not very exhilarating. A word of caution to someone who buys the tickets for the rides at the top; When there is the slightest bit of wind they will shut down the freefall. Leaving you with one pretty fun ride (spinning one) and a terribly boring one (faux rollercoaster.)

    4
    « Regular visitor »

Clean rooms valued price point as long as you are a regular customer with a players card. Avoid the buffet, the restaurant at the top is very nice and food is excellent prices are kinda high but you can't beat the 360* view and ambience.

    2
« the cleanliness of the rooms »

The first day that I arrived to the hotel I found someone elses hair on my pillow and I have a short haircut with red hair and the pillow had a big chuck of long black hair on it. I was so disgusted me to the point where I couldn't forget about me. Someone elses hair on my pillow is very unsanitary. I also feel like my room was never cleaned for the duration of my stay and I feel no one made an effort to clean the room either. I thought this was gonna be a great hotel but the cleanliness of the hotel makes it a terrible experience. whether or not you have the elite room or not the rooms should still be up to par. There is no excuse for something that came off another persons body is on the bed with me and I don't even know the source.

    4
« Great Value Hotel - with a great view of the strip from the top »

Compared to the rest of the hotels on the Strip, the Stratosphere offered rooms at a fraction of the price. I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving, the rooms are very comfortable and better than I expected. Great bars, wonderful view from the Sky lounge bar and the restaurant are not too bad

    5
« We got an upgrade »

I have always read bad things about this hotel but when we got there they gave us an upgrade and the room was amazing I want to go back and stay here a little scared my room won't be as awesome as it was before and I Will be disappointed I hope not plan on returning to Vegas in 2018 still debating on a hotel

« GOOD HOTEL FOR LAS VEGAS CONVENTIONS »

We had 6 rooms here for Power-Gen. The hotel was clean. The staff were very helpful. Check in took some time because of the volume. The rooms were clean and well appointed for the most part. The hotel has a pool, and a number of restaurants with 24 hour room service. We found McCall's to be the best for food quality and service. For some reason, the buffet was closed during our stay. The major drawback for me was the smoke in the casino that could not be avoided. Parking was free, and the location for us was good. Basic internet, which came as part of the room package, was not great and highly variable in performance. The enhanced internet, at $9.99 per day, was far too expensive to try. I would stay here again, but improvements in the above areas would be very welcome.

« Our "place to stay" in Vegas - never had a bad experience yet ! »

The staff we dealt with were great : Front Desk - Caesar was very nice and friendly, Barbara as always was WONDERFUL ! Cocktail Waitress - Kris was excellent - even brought us drinks as her shift ended - very nice ! We usually have eaten breakfast elsewhere - this year we had bkfst at the hotel everyday (Roxy's Diner)- a little more money but well worth it. Roxy's Diner food and staff were great !

« Great Value For Money in Vegas »

This hotel is really good value for money in Las Vegas however be aware when you book it that it is located off of the main Las Vegas strip, close to old Las Vegas by the classic wedding chapels. It takes around 20 minuets to walk to the strip however if you have a car his hotel is ideal. They also have free parking. The rooms are spacious and modern. Massive choice of restaurants including McDonalds and Starbucks. All round great hotel and great service.

    3
« We booked to be close to my sons poker tournament. »

If you book here- make sure you ask for the newer rooms, there is a difference and worth the small upcharge. Our room was clean. We did enjoy the outside "family pool" area. We did not go to the adult pool area. We did enjoy the Stratosphere roof top bar and the view is outstanding! Our friends said the Italian restaurant is very good and would recommend this. The North Outlet mall is close, as well as the "Pawn Shop" TV show. It is also close to Fremont street and driving distance to the strip. Look for public parking in back of Caesars. I wouldn't recommend walking to the strip- it's further then you think and the area aound the hotel is a bit sketchy..... I wouldn't recommend walking too far and don't go alone. Vegas is great to visit and we did have a good time.

    3
« Not the best hotel for Vegas expeience »

We stayed Friday and Saturday evening so very expensive! Room was a basic Best Western although we had paid extra. Casino was again basic compared to other hotels we visited on the strip. The bar required ID for a 12 dollar bar bill! Valet parking was excellent but use Uber to get to strip. The rides etc are for a younger age group. MJ show was excellent but was just over one hour. If you want the Vegas experience choose hotels on the strip.... But avoid Friday and Saturday

« The view is incredible »

The stratosphere looks like our BT tower but when you get in, it is definitely not. We went for dinner and the rock show for 8 people. Always book the lower level for the stratosphere as that is the part that rotates. The view you have is incredible, you do a full turn in 80 minutes and see every part. The sommelier and waiters have fantastic knowledge of the surroundings and also the food and drink. Expect to pay around $120-$150 for 2 course meal and bottle of wine per person for this experience. It is also normal for a body to drop off the side of the building while your eating, it is part of the many rides they have at the top of the stratosphere. None of us unfortunately had the drive to do any of that part but I am sure the people who did do would of thought it was a great experience. Our waiter of whom I wish I got his name was so attentive we did not ask one question because he was always that one step ahead. If you could figure out the name it would be great to give him the thanks he deserves.

« On the spot booking of Hotel Startosphere in Vegas »

We turned up to Hotel Stratosphere in Vegas thinking we had a booking. To our surprise, I had accidentally canceled our booking. I urgently went onto Booking.com and found a 66% discount for a Stratosphere select room which is a queen size room and two doule beds for $498. At reception they gave us the room for $472 for 4 nights. So it makes you wonder about using a third party app. Decent room clean and comfortable beds. Big bathroom and good and prompt service when we asked for extra tiwels blanket and pillows. Main area of casino smoky as expected. The hallway on the 14 floor is a little smoky, but again my kids who are teenagers couldnt smell anything. Pillows could be normal size and mattress is comfortable and strong on the edges unlike others that I have experienced collapse on the edges. I would give the room a 3.5 overall. All staff we have engaged with have been helpful and pleasant.

« Great Hotel just slight distance from rest of strip »

I found for the price the room I stayed in was large (coming from Europe) and was cleaned daily. Nice large Television to watch. Very comfortable bed and nice size bathroom. I had no complaints on the bedroom or actual hotel. Only slight downer is the position of the hotel as a distance from the main strip but is half way between the strip and downtown Las Vegas. But their is a bus stop nearby so not too much of an issue, believe buses are 24 hour as well. Across the road from Stratosphere is SLS Las Vegas which has a monorail station if you prefer. The eateries in the hotel were o.k. but I was usually either on the main strip or Downtown when having main dinner. Overall I recommend this hotel if on a budget but if want to be in middle of action then find a hotel further down the strip.

    5
    « Customer service »

The rooms are great, all the restaurants are amazing and the customers service is beyond compare from the valet to bell service to room service to just about everyone. Check in was quick & the staff very helpful. I am going back in January and taking my daughter and son-in-law for her birthday. She can't wait to ride the thrilling rides on top of the tower. And the view from the tower, especially Top of the Strip restaurant is breathtaking.

Stayed at the Stratosphere hotel in May hotel room was ok but you could hear what next door was saying also we were near the lofts could hear the Americans talking to each other at all hours of the morning like 2-3am pools were very busy one quite noisy party pool much in need of renovation but ok for just to sleep in

    « Pretty nice place »

We had to go to Las Vegas for travel related business so stayed at the Stratosphere because of its location. The place is clean. The room was spacious and clean and fairly quiet. The only negative is the cigarette smell in the casino. I wanted to contribute to the local economy but the smell kept me from being on the casino floor for less than an hour.

« Not worth the price »

Stayed at this hotel with family from out of state that wanted to visit Las Vegas. When I made reservations I was under the impression that the hotel was in the strip. Found out it was on the strip, but downtown. Had I known this before hand, would not have stayed there. Paid extra for a room that had a refrigerator and coffee pot. To our surprise, when we arrived late one night and wanted a cup of coffee "surprise" the coffee pot did not work. Did not bother calling for another one since it was already late and had to get up early the next day. Not a place to visit again.

« They charge me twice the deposit »

I reserved the hotel by Booking. At the beginning, they charged me a deposit... I don't have problem with that, but they charged me again when I was there. So, I paid the deposit twice... when I sent an email asking for support, they never answered me. It's a shame, because the hotel is nice for that money. Ignacio Madrid.

« I got married at the Stratosphere »

Our wedding and stay less than eventful! After you paying our money for a wedding...we were pretty much on your own! We couldn't find our wedding planner for assistance, after we paid our money, If I sent out a search party. The photo vendor they use for wedding photos did horrible work! The poses and quality of the work was very unprofessional. The rooms are just okay. You can get much nicer accommodations in Vegas...If I could do it again...I would pass on the Stratosphere. The nicest thing about their wedding packages are the advertisements that they use to get your business!

We enjoyed our three night stay at the Stratosphere. The check in line wait was a bit too long, not sure why there are no self check in kiosks We did not use the housekeeping services, as we did not want to be disturbed as the girls were out late. The hotel bar at the top of the tower had an amazing view of the strip at night. The staff in the top of the tower were friendly and efficient. I walked out the front door the first night to go to Walgreens, one block away, but quickly returned, not feeling safe. I would not recommend walking outside at night. Uber is quick and efficient and I would strongly suggest to get around that you use them. The hotel itself has lots of activities, tower, rides, casino. There are no fridges in the rooms. The gym was very minimalistic, but had machines, no staff. The pool outside on the 24th floor is closed for the winter.

    « Dingy and depressing »

This hotel is in need of refreshment. Just gut it and start over. Definitely has an interesting and unique look from outside but that ends as soon as you step through the door. The casino as well is dark ,dank and smells as if you bathed in ashtray butts. Would most definitely not return.

    « Average stay. »

The wife booked the stratosphere as a surprise for my birthday. Overall it was an average stay. The original room they booked us in was updated but we had an infant with us and the room only had what reminded me of a hospital shower. We requested a room change for something with a tub. They happily acommedated us. On the gaming floor I found all of the dealers and servers to be miserable and not very friendly, which led me to gamble in other hotels on the strip. It was nice to have free parking because most places are beginning to charge, but for the amenities and type of service we received the $30/day resort fee is a bit excessive. We didn't have a terrible experience, and the wife tried to keep the vacation on the cheaper side but I doubt we would stay here again.

« This is an old people hotel »

First trip to Las Vegas and friend booked this hotel for a week. If I could go back and do it over, I would not have. I was told the location wasn't bad as it's on the strip and everything was walking distance but I don't think it was it was at the end of the strip and was kind of ghetto. We had a rental car, which is unnecessary in Las Vegas, there's Uber which cost probably $12 on average from the stratosphere to like the bellagio which is the area you want to be not the stratosphere. If you want to save money you could get a 24 hour bus pass for $8 which was what we did sometimes. Did not care for the room, very outdated, dirty carpet and ugly bathroom and was kind of small and felt cramped sharing with 3 people with 2 queen beds. Walls for thin enough that we could hear couple in the next room arguing early in the morning and people walking in the hallway. This hotel and casino good I guess if you're over 50 and drag around an oxygen tank, not so much if you're younger and want to be in the hip and happening part of the strip. More complaint, didn't even get a discount at the brunch buffet for being hotel guests.

« Whether you walk or take the Monrail, this is a great hotel. »

I've walked to the Stratosphere several times before, and always found the atmosphere inside (the casino and Tower) to be quite inviting. This is my first time staying at the hotel and I must say that I'm impressed. Yes, the hotel is far away from "the Strip action". But that is easily remedied by taking the Monorail (behind the SLS). Actually, it takes 12 minutes to walk to the Monorail. In another 12 minutes, you could actually be at MGM. So, anyone who says that the Stratosphere is "too far away" simply isn't being accurate. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were great, and I'll definitely be back again. (side note: inexpensive alcohol can be purchased at the Circle K down the street; don't go to the 7-11 behind the hotel on the side street).

« Lots of smoke in cassino area. Security not good. »

So as soon as we walk in the cigarette smoke is so bad in the cassino we couldn't breathe but we had to walk through the cassino to get to the hotel desk. When booked it said both pools were open well wrong the adult one was closed for the season and the other closed at 5. Well we had places to be all day so no pool time for us. Also we noticed a menu under our door for delivery but it was not from any of the hotels restaurants. So that being said anyone can walk in to this establishment and can go to any room door. We did it we went up to the penthouse room door and did not need a key. We noticed guys selling and smoking weed in the parking garage and later seen them wandering the halls they obviously were not staying there. So security was next to none Wich is sad because we were there just about 6 weeks after the concert shooting. So instead of staying there all 4 nights we moved after 2 and got off the strip to a nice place called Santa fe station. A bit older and still a little smokey in the cassino but you had to have a room key to get from the cassino to your room and that made us feel safe. Oh an we won alot more money there too.

    « Visited in 2010 »

Stratosphere has good rooms. With nice view. Earlier they used to charge extra for tower visit. Bit far from all the main hotels and airport. Overall it is one of the nice places in Vegas. Breakfast was good and many varieties. Lobby was nice. Hotel has taxi and limo available on entrance.

    « Pleasantly Surprised »

I've visited this resort a few times but never stayed until my recent visit. We asked for an upgraded recently remodeled room and were very happy with it. Granted these Vegas resorts do not have in room amenities such as a refrigerator, microwave or coffee maker, understandably since there are plenty of places to eat in the building and hanging out in your room is not what you do in Vegas anyway. We had late night drinks and apps in the tower bar which were fantastic, as was the adult pool bar pina coladas! Fantastic I'll stay here again! Yes its a walk down to the center of the Strip (Venetian) if you're not up for it take a city bus, 3 days unlimited ticket for $20!

« Wedding with a few hick ups »

My daughter got married at the Chapel in the clouds in October 2017. We purchased the 'Stairway to the stars' wedding package (roughly $ 1800 on the weekends) and our wedding coordinator was Daun H. From the booking to the day of the wedding it was extremely difficult to work with our so called wedding coordinator Daun. It was very difficult to reach her by phone and emails would get no replies. I had to contact her because when I got my contract for the wedding it had the wrong time and a wrong contact phone number to reach us. We also had booked the wedding reception at the Crafted Buffet (Stratosphere) for 2:30 pm. When I checked online a few weeks before the wedding I saw that the buffet hours had changed and that it was now CLOSED from 2-4 pm. I immediately TRIED to contact Daun and got no reply for a week. It took another week to resolve the issue - I'm still wondering what would have happened if I didn't check the hours of the Crafted Buffet myself ? Since we had never been at the Stratosphere before we expected our wedding coordinator to show us the chapel and reception venue the day prior to the wedding (as stated in the contract). When we tried to make an appointment to meet with Daun we were told that she was off that day and could send us the neccessary information by email !!! The day of the wedding Daun never even introduced herself - she came out of the office took us to the elevator and turned around and left..... Upstairs in the chapel area we found the butler Mario. Another nightmare.... He was very rude and arrogant. We caught him more than once rolling his eyes and after the ceremony when all our guests were standing and waiting to take a few photos with the happy couple ,he came running through screaming " Excuse me" and ripping the white paper carpet off that went down the isle.Very unprofessional. Now to the positive parts - the chapel was beautiful. Our guests enjoyed the view and the minister Carlos V. was very nice. The photographer Anthony did a great job too. The highlight was the Crafted Buffet. We booked a semi private room that turned out to be private (we had almost 50 guests). Our guests enjoyed a great variety of tasty food. The set up was very nice with white table cloth and flowers on every table. There were 3 waiters that constantly removed finished plates and refilled drinks. The buffet manager Larry was on top of things and came by numerous times.

    « Hidden Gem... »

Since it is farther down the strip, many people don't want to stay at the Stratosphere but this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. I've stayed in the select tower and the rooms are nice, clean with spacious bathrooms. The hotel has everything you need. In additon to the casino, there are retail shops, restaurants, shows, rides, bars/lounges, pools and happy hours everywhere. Rooms are reasonably priced and parking is free if you have a car or you can catch the bus from the hotel down to the main part of the strip. Love this place!

    « Halloween wedding »

Got married on Halloween Day at the Stratosphere. Third stay with the hotel and we just love it! Staff is very friendly, rooms are decent and the price is fair. Tattoo shop, Fat Tuesdays and McDonald's all inside. Great restaurants and amazing food. The view from the top is to die for and the rides are amazing. Two rooftop pools that are great! Little tip, sign up for the rewards gambling card, you get discounts through out the hotel when you show it when paying. Only complaint is when you call down to the front desk for extra towels, soap etc.. I had to call two and three times to ask where my stuff was. Other than that, I highly recommend. It is a smoking facility so be prepared for the strong smell, non smoking floor or not.

« Good, but read on to save some money »

So the Stratosphere is probably the last casino at the northern end of the strip. It was a $15.00 Uber ride from the airport, though I believe they have a shuttle for free. Check in was seamless, very fast and our room was ready early at 2.00. We ended up upgrading to one of the tower rooms, and I probably wouldn't again. We didn't use the safe, and I guess the TV was nice but probably not worth $100 for the week. Loved the hot water, the bath was actually a good size, and the toiletries were lovely too. Full size blow dryer and iron and ironing board and heaps of coat hangers. No coffee maker at all, which made me as an addict very sad. So, tip one, ignore the overpriced Starbucks on the ground floor, and head to the McDonald's on the retail (2nd level), they have a Mccafe and do a nice cappuccino or latte for only $3.29 for a large. You can also get a fruit and yogurt parfait for breakfast there for only $1.19 (delicious) and a fruit oatmeal for $2.19, also delicious. The gift shop opposite Starbucks on the ground floor has breakfast cereal (Cocoa Puffs, Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, etc) and milk if you want that, for about $2.50 a cereal. Wish I'd found THAT the first day! Room service is actually pretty much the same price as the restaurants in the casino, surprisingly, and the food is awesome. The food at the Chicago Cafe was disappointing. Bland and a bit stodgy. And expensive!! We didn't try Roxys Diner, or the pizza place, but as I say, room service was pretty much the same price so we went with that. Uber is the best way around town, we found. We hoofed it out and got an Uber home most times. The fashion show mall is about 7.00, and the north premium outlets are about 9.00 (go there to the Cheesecake Factory, it's amazing). Other than that, there are cheaper gifts just across the road at the souvenir bonanza, but not later in the afternoon, it's a bit of a dodgy area, we had beggars accost us a few times. The outlets are not cheap, you can buy the stuff much cheaper online. Other than that, the Stratosphere is a good place to stay. The tower amusement rides seem good, the tower jump is $120 pp and you have weight limits. The Roni Josef salon on the 2nd floor is lovely, I had a haircut and color and it was a good value deal, you get a 20% discount as a guest. Great staff. The gym is clean and well stocked, towels and water provided. The casino is clean and not as smokey as most on the Strip, the rooms, hallways and elevators are really clean. Definitely far and away the best part of this casino hotel is the staff. Everyone, right down to maintenance and housekeeping, are super friendly! Really genuinely friendly, not the fake stuff. It was a pleasure to run into the staff everywhere. They loved a chat, and I really enjoyed interacting with them.

    « Great Place »

Service was top notch, room was very clean with everything needed. The staff throughout the casino and eateries was very friendly and helpful. Great place to visit and stay. Roxy cafe and buffet were superb

    « Old reliable. »

I have not been to LV for over 6 years and just recently went back for a week to check things out. I have been going to the Stratospher Hotel for many years before and did not see the need to change hotels for this trip. The hotel is still pretty much the same and for me that is a good thing. Seems like the restaurants that I remembered and enjoyed are still there as is the great service to the hotel guests. There is really no need to leave the hotel during your stay unless you want to the the LV sightseeing thing which I did not. The room was upgraded and very comfortable and for the little time I was in the room it was fine. I always enjoyed coming back to the Stratosphere.

    « Very disappointing experience »

I booked this hotel at around 100$ per night for 4 nights. The hotel is disappointing for the following reasons 1) no coffee machine in room 2) no safe on room 3) dated decor (flaky paint, old furniture, old curtains, noisy zircon) 4) mouldy bath tab I would definitely not come back here. I am currently staying in and if I could I would book and move elsewhere already, If I had paid less than 100$ per night inc resort fee I would probably think differently. I think the fair price is $40 a night

    « Good view »

Good hotel to stay in Vegas. The room is big enough for 2 people, enough amenities but I can see some thick dust in a fire alarm in the room (probably hsk seems never notice them). Recommend to choose the high floor so you can see the beautiful view of the city. Even this hotel doesn't have landscape attraction likes others, but it's full with activities, especially if you can enjoy view on the top floor (well I just stayed for 2 days in Vegas so I didn't have time to try it)

    « Very disappointed! »

Was there for 7 nights, went with husband as part of a team for a baseball tourney in LV. Made reservation as part of airline package and even paid extra to upgrade room. Check in was crowded, but went fast - had to walk through smokey casino to get ANYWHERE - including all elevator banks to rooms, restaurants and parking lot! We had room on 20th floor - which was evidently the "upgrade." My first impression of the furnishings was "upscale Motel 6 from the mid 1980s!" The dresser was a dresser/desk/closet unit that looked like a cheap press-board laminate unit as were the bedside stands. Bed was comfortable and nicely appointed. There was NO coffee maker, NO refrigerator or microwave - things one would expect to get especially with the "upgrade" since we were there for so long. The room temp was a problem - thermostat was always set on 66 - but temp never got below 74 - and was often 76-77. Very noisy - could always hear the next door guests - talking, coughing, urinating, whatever...... inconsiderate folks in the halls all hours of the night...... Now for the bathroom - didn't have to worry about stealing the towels - most were stained and some had "bald spots." The toiletries were okay - but for some reason the housekeeper kept taking our soap bar each day and didn't always leave a new one! Also sometimes the light wouldn't come on when you turned on the switch. Fitness facility was in poor shape - some fitness machines didn't work or work right. Weights were strode about, some missing. One of the other guys on the baseball said it was so bad one morning that he actually tried to straighten it up! It doesn't appear to be monitored, and it not secured for guests only. They did have towels and water (however it was warm) - and had 4 TVs mounted for general viewing rather than incorporated in the machines. No sound from TV - only loud music all the time. Although our room and floor (i think) were non-smoking - as mentioned, you had to walk through the smokey casino to get anywhere. We enjoyed "Roxy's Diner" and ate several meals - but still could smell smoke. I came home with a sinus inflammation from it! Did have dinner at the top of the tower, and was good - and enjoyed drinks at the top lounge. Great views - and don't have to be hotel guest to go there! I wouldn't stay here again, - and after the fact - got told by friends who have lived there - they wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

« Away from the action »

I stayed for two nights on a buy one get one. The room was comfortable, and had a descent shower. It is between Fremont and the main part of the strip, so if you don't have a car, you might want to stay someplace else.

« Packed Full Of Activities »

We ended our 14 day Western Bus Tour with three days/2 nights in Las Vegas at the Stratosphere Hotel. This Hotel is packed with so many activities from Pools & Spas, Thrill Rides in the Tower, entertainment & comedy clubs, restaurants plus casinos. We saw as much of the Stratosphere & of "The Strip" as possible in 2 1/2 days with only a few hours of sleep per night. Our room & the entire Hotel/Casino were very clean & the entire staff was outstanding. Our Breakfast in the Buffet was very good. Overall, the Stratosphere Hotel met & exceeded all of our expectations.

    4
« Nice rooms for a good price but location is not ideal »

Rooms and service nice, but located far away from the other hotels on the strip. Overall good service and inexpensive place to stay if you don't mind waiting for the bus. The observation deck is cool.

« Location and hotel suited us. »

I stayed here 15 years ago so I know the casino and knew it would suit my party. Good location as we like the famous strip and also the lively Freemont St area, and the Strat is in the middle. We checked in after a 5 minute wait, there were plenty of staff checking people in and they were very helpful as were the staff all over the casino. We upgraded to the select room and as there were 5 of us booking 3 rooms we got a very good discount. We had 1 room on the 22nd floor which is a smoking floor, which I wanted, 1 room on the 23rd and 1 on the 24th which are non smoking. All the rooms were perfect with coffee making facilities, large tv and refurbed bathrooms. Yes, you do smell smoking on the 22nd floor, which you would expect but not on the other floors. The casino is well maintained and the italian and the steakhouse are well worth a visit, really good food. As for the tables and machines, I would say the payouts are better than the strip although if I had one negative it would be that there is the odd croupier and pit boss that are poor with their attitude and professionalism. The roof top pool and tower are well worth a visit. The sight from the tower are unbelievable. The pool is nice to chill at after a long flight, cool music, cocktails and hot sunshine. We didnt mind the walk to the strip, it takes around 15 minutes but there are buses that run up and down there frequently, the discount tickets of $8 for 24 hours for the bus didnt really work for us as it stops a lot and it was cheaper using taxi's as there were 5 of us. All in all the Strat suits me for its location and what I expect from a Vegas hotel. I would recommend and stay here again,

« Cheap price, old hotel »

It was a cheap price for the room per night for Las Vegas. Although it was over 100.00 after all the taxes. The carpet was very worn. The beds were old. I was surprised that people smoked all over the hotel and casino.

    « Honeymoon »

We decided to come to Vegas for part of our honeymoon trip because of the atmosphere and we were trying to spice up the second half of our trip. The Stratosphere had very good customer service at the registration desk and I liked how you could just text them with any questions/concerns and the immediately text back. It actually wasn't too noisy, on the 23rd floor anyways, but that could be because it is "off season". The hotel room itself was very small, had little to no pictures on the wall and for me it makes it a lot less "homey", the bathroom had little counter space and/or anywhere to hang small hand towels which made it odd. Barely any water pressure in the shower i think the toilet took all the pressure because every time i flushed the toilet i jumped at how loud it was and how much force it had! I know this sounds like a terrible hotel but really it was not. Obviously they assume you will not be hanging out in your hotel room which is probably why most of the above statements I made were true. The casino itself was nicely taken care of and we enjoyed the MJ Live show they offered. As expected in Vegas the food and everything else was outrageously expensive....they had a really nice buffet though! Really good!!!!! The stratosphere is at the tip of the strip so it is a hike to get to all the madness. We walked about 6 1/2 miles altogether and hadn't walked the entire strip. We checked out their rooftop pool for adults only and had a $12 Bloody Mary (with one olive) and people watched while they played some good music. It was an experience for sure. Topless women and alcohol.....not my kind of party BUT very entertaining to watch! It was very clean and security was watching everything. The girls that worked there were very nice except one had a scowl on her face the whole time buy i can only imagine having to deal with crazy drunk people all day! All in all our stay was average. We would go back literally for just the sports betting....SO fun! Vegas is Vegas....if you want the lights and smokey casino's you are in for a treat! Friendly people and good customer service will always bring you back.

« Not a bad place but we didn't spend much. »

Arrived from LAS with a $19 lyft. Checked in early, did not get the updated room, but that was OK. 17th floor towards the mountain. Room was clean and a smoke free floor, the first floor was a typical smoke hole. About a 7 minute walk to monorail, we had bought discounted passes on line. Decent food choices on 2nd floor of hotel, a McDonald's and IHOP also just outside. Did a show at the la comedy club, it was great. Did happy hour at the 107th floor at sunset, very nice. then walked up to the top at no cost. Spent 2 hours at the adult only pool, was a very mixed crowd but pleasant, no pressure to buy drinks, but you must show ID to get on the floor. Bottom line, would I stay there again, yes I would.

    « Vegas Stay.... »

Stayed three nights with our tour group. Bit old but comfortable room. High time to do some renovations to modernise the room. No tea/coffee making facility, but there is a starbucks right next to the elevator. No room cleaning on the first day. Make sure to go up the tower to get 360 degree view of the Las Vegas strip . Magnificent !! Dinner Buffet was quite good. Long queues at the reception. No need to pay for taxis or Uber. Bus stop right outside the hotel will take you to the strip, Fremont St and airport.

    « Daughters 21st Birthday »

This was the 2nd time we stayed here. 1st time out of 8 trips to Vegas we stayed at the same place. I like the easiness of the layout and there is a bus stop going both directions right outside the door. We had 2 rooms in the updated tower on the 18th floor. Nice view. Beds were super comfy too!! We ate at Roxy's Diner and the buffet. I would recommend both. We went up into the tower and rode the Big Shot. All in all the Stratosphere is an excellent value for the money!!

« Freindly staff good value for money »

Its situated at the very top of the strip a little way out but that didn't really bother us as we took the bus down to the strip or walked for the mono rail. What I liked about the hotel was the price, the clean room recently refurbished and the friendly helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there thanks.

    « Not what I expected. »

Booked the Stratosphere hotel and casino because my wife had stayed here before 10 years ago. Well it's apparent they haven't updated the rooms in 10 years. We were asked at the desk if we wanted to upgrade to a better than standard room that we had booked. We said no. Big mistake. If they ask if you want to upgrade your room, I would recommend it. Got off the elevator and smelled a very musty smell. Got to the room and while it was ok. Standard definitely means just that...standard. No refrigerator. No coffee pot. No safe. King bed was just ok. Pillows are very flat. Bathroom is very small. I will say the hotel & casino employees seem very nice and helpful. Bonus points for that. We got a room with no view. Kind of disappointed in that. My fault. I should have done more research. Nothing real bad, but nothing real special either.

« Another great enjoyable stay at the Stratosphere »

We have stayed at the Stratosphere several times and have always been treated great. The staff, especially in the Host office are very helpful and accommodating. We love the Top of the Tower Restaurant, the Italian restaurant and especially Roxy's. Most of our meals we ate there. We did go downtown twice to the other hotels but we really enjoy and feel at home at the Stratosphere at they do have a wonderful comp system. We will be back.

    « Smoked Out! »

The staff was totally awesome! The restaurants and other amenities were awesome also. However, the air ventilation was terrible!! If you have any type of breathing condition it will only get worse here! I walked from my room to the parking garage through the lobby / casino area and once outside I smelled like an ashtray! If the air ventilation was better I would stay again.

« Good option in the city of best hotels »

Las Vegas has the finest hotels in world so cant give 5 star to this one! We had booked a tour and hence ended up here BUT, this hotel provides the view of Las Vegas from 100+ floor and thrilling rides. This observation deck definitely gives it an edge over other hotels. Nice comfortable stay.

Do not stay here. Hustle from the moment we walked in. People trying to sell us diamond resort. They funnel you to the desk. Is not the check in. Went to check in. Early check in not available as requested unless we wanted to upgrade. We waited the 2 hours, came back, room still not available. We paid for king delux in New tower. Lori from Albania stated it wasn't available unless we wanted to upgrade. Asked for a manager, Rielly the supervisor came out, restated what Lori told us. Both were rude and condescending. Should I mention i called a week before to confirm room selection in new tower. Neither person cared. Rielly finally gave us a room. We got to the room... sheets and blanket stained, carpet dirty, bathroom filthy. Sink won't drain. Stains on wall. Don t stay here

    « Yellow Las Vegas!! »

Las Vegas is a place out of this world! No one on this world has ever seen theme based hotel cum casinos in such a magnitude. The city is full of entertainment of tourist attractions of theme based casinos, night life, restaurants, helicopter rides. There are very beautiful casino cum hotels like Venesia,Ceaser, flamingo,French,New York,Stratosphere, circus circus etc., We had helicopter ride over Red Canyon and Las Vegas in late evening which was life long experience with thrills. It is costing nearly 80 dollars per person online. Top of Hotel Stratosphere is amazing experience in night hours. Take cab for internal long transfers using free first time Uber,Lift etc. Buy souvenir from world's largest gift shop near hotel Stratosphere. Visit Hoover dam and Grand Canyon by road which are nearly at 4 hours distance from Las Vegas. Hotel Stratosphere rooms are narrow and having normal. However, it is thrilling experience to play Casino and night view from top. Over all every one must visit Las Vegas.

    3
    « Beware hidden fees »

I researched 4 different travel sites and travel search engines and all of them indicated that Stratosphere offered one of the best deals on the strip, with prices listed as low as $27 on one site, however it was late and we could no longer book online so we had to bool at the hotel. They charged more than double the rate listed because of ?resort fees? and some other fee of $35, which the travel sites don't display until the final booking page. It is a sneaky bait and switch or foot-in-the-door advertising tactic, so buyer beware. The staff were not very pleasant or helpful and the guy who checked us in took 10-15 minutes and really struggled and had to go ask for help in the back room. The room itself was nice, good view, clean. There was no extra amenities in the room that made this feel like a resort, just seemed like a regular hotel. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets and bedding. The casino was your average casino, but they do have the rides on top if you have money to burn. We were so annoyed about the hidden prices that we didn't want to spend any money or gamble at the hotel at all just on principal. The regular price wouldn't be so bad, but taking away the options or at least using hidden fees just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. We have no interest in returning.

Long wait at check in but employees were friendly. Room was dirty. Free valet parking was helpful and friendly. Roxy's Diner had good meals. Rides on tower were confusing, Never did get to do any of them just went to tower for view that was beautiful

« This Is One Stratosphere Story that Will NOT Stay in Vegas »

To celebrate our anniversary, we booked a stay at the Stratosphere. After standing in a long check in line, we got to our room on the 16th floor with a "premier view". What the room didn't have was a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, grab bar in the slippery tub area or a safe which we usually find in our hotel rooms. The day before we were scheduled to leave our room was burglarized. Here's what we do know--on Thursday, September 21st, between 11AM and 4PM our room was cleaned, the non- functioning air conditioning was fixed and our room was robbed. We immediately reported this and a young female security guard came to our room with a form to fill out and information to call the police and the "Risk Management" of the hotel which we did. Some of the big things that were taken were our carry on luggage which contained our passports, cell phone, car keys, a filled cosmetic case including hair cutting scissors, a sports coat and slacks. Some of the smaller things--are you ready?--they chose to take 2 used deodorants, a used razor and a Fleet enema and several other miscellaneous things. We did not realize the full extent of what was missing until we were packing to leave. When we reported the rest of the missing things we thought the hotel had some sort of insurance to cover such losses (that Risk Management). WE WERE WRONG!!! We were never offered so much as a cup of coffee to make us feel better or offer condolences. In fact, after cancelling our passports, we needed to down load some documents needed for replacement and they were going to charge us to use their computer. We are good, follow-the-rules travelers. The hassle of the time, cost and inconvenience of this situation has piled onto the feelings of violation, frustration and anger. I don't want this to happen to my fellow travelers so here are some tips. #1) If traveling within the US, do not use your passports even if they are convenient to use. #2) Find a good hiding place in your room for valuables. You'll notice our money and jewelry were not taken. #3) Should you ever have to make a list of losses, add the statement "at this time" to your list because as you pack up you may find other missing things. #4) Be sure you understand what the hotel feels is its responsibility while you can speak to someone face to face rather than through phone calls when you get home. We have to use our insurance to compensate for our losses which has a $500 deductible. Enough said.

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's great having the casino there too, fab place to people watch. Check in was very slow but once we got to the room we were pleased, very nice & modern. The Italian restaurant & the steak place are both very good. The sky bar does 241 cocktails until 7pm so that was great. Loved the pool area. Parking was also plentiful & we could always get a spot.

    « It was Terrible »

I had not been to Vegas in a long time and did not no where to stay. The Stratosphere was terrible. The room was not adequate. No coffee maker, the tub ledge was too high, nearly fell out of the tub the first night. The heater did not work correctly. We woke up sweating. The window ledge filled with water from condensation from the heater not working properly. The second night there, the bathroom light cut off and would not come back on, had to call maintenance. The casino was dark and hardly any people in there. The area around the hotel is a bad area. Too far from the strip too walk, had to Uber everywhere. The restaurants in the hotel closed early and the only place open was the supposedly award winning Roxy's diner. I had a meatloaf sandwich. It was disgusting. I would not have even fed that to my dog. The server even admitted to me that no one likes the meatloaf sandwich. Went to the club upstairs. The view from there is amazing. They gave us coupons for buy one get one free drink. We used them and the bill was still $65.00 for 3 drinks. It was not worth the money. I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!! EVEN IF THEY GAVE ME A FREE ROOM!! NEVER!!

« Horrible experiece beautiful view »

Decided to getaway for a few days with friends & family following Hurricane Harvey. We were promised 3 rooms on the same floor. At check in, the lines were hideous. Our rooms were on 4, 11, and 21. I asked to be moved, they charged me $ and still had us in separate floors. I asked for a manager 3 days in a row and called after returning home and as of 1 week later, I have not yet spoken to management. I've stayed at Palace Station, Excalibur, Bellagio and Rio and never a disaster like such. When we checked out, the line was across the casino floor. Poor management. I suggest visiting the Stratosphere for views but never an overnight stay. To the V.P. who never returned my call, Mr. K..... You will not have to worry about us again. Peace!!

The room was mostly clean but the hallways had a subtle distasteful bad odor. The staff were helpful and cheerful during all of our encounters. The slots were a bust and the buffet was mediocre at best.

« Amazing stay at Stratosphere »

I am just about to finish my week long visit to Las Vegas. I have had an amazing time. I made the right decision in staying at the Stratosphere hotel in Vegas. Everything has gone right. The room is large, clean, and comfortable. It also has a wonderful view. However, that is not the best part. The service and staff have been friendly, attentive, and helpful. I especially have to mention Alexis and Gaby. At the 107, the Skylounge here at the Stratosphere, Alexis ais always in motion and still never too busy to take care of even a single guest with a smile. I made certain to let Gaby know how incredible Alexis has been. I wanted to let others know here as well. Go stay at the Stratosphere. Get drinks at the 107 Skylounge. You'll have a great tiem. Guaranteed.

    « 3rd time there »

This was my third time staying there from UK. As ever I had a ball, friendly staff and good facilities at a reasonable cost. However I only have a couple of minor issues which are. It now costs $5 for guests to get into tower......... Not much but it should still be free. I booked a smokers room, none available although it was BOOKED IN JANUARY. Finally, I was lucky enough to get a Handpay of $1465, but $440 was deducted in tax, when I asked the staff about whether a non US resident gets a rebate in home country UK, they were at a loss and had no clue

    « Awesome Stay »

I do like this hotel. It had everything in it that a person could need. I really enjoyed the Tower Lounge. It is beautiful at night. The second floor with all the stores to shop and eat from are great. The hotel even have several show rooms. If I wasn't a hotel hopper, I would stay here every time.

The room was clean and neat. Service people were helpful and efficient. All the desk people were great. Buffet was very good and we ate at couple other restaurants and they were excellent also. All in all it turned out to be better than expected.

« We love the Stratosphere. »

It has plenty of slot machines and the table games are fun. The rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable and we love that it is not as crazy as the strip. There a plenty of restaurants to choose from and they are right near Dennys, IHOP, Carls Jrs. etc. The staff was professional and courteous and we enjoy staying here. Next time your in LV check them out.

Stayed in the "newly" renovated rooms. Well... it was worth what I paid. Received an offer for BOGO night free. Thank goodness they don't charge resort fees on free nights. Was okay when you don't spend much time there. View was of wall. Not happy with cleanliness! Tub was stained. Housekeeping never vacuumed and didn't throw all the trashes. Perks were only paying $5 for tower visits but remember when it was free. Roxy's diner was fun and good food. Shops are lacking. Pool was okay but doesn't allow outside drinks and has limited seating, especially in shade. Parking is super easy and still free! Thank you!! Probably won't stay again unless it's a really super deal.

    « Wonderful time »

August was my birth month and I wanted to do something special for myself. Checked out Flight centre's last minute vacations and I was sold on the flight and Stratosphere hotel deal. Upon arrival I was advised of the daily resort fee that I had to pay. The gentleman upgraded my room to the 14th floor. I loved the room; I could see the people jumping from the skyline and that's where I saw IHOP. The room was amazingly clean. Everything was well up to date and no smells. TV, iron, ironing board, phone, soaps etc. The 2nd floor of hotel has shops and restaurants. Went during the week it wasn't as crazy busy as the Monday, that's when some weekend folks leave. The hotel has lots of slot games, pools, fine dining is on the main floor. Loved Roxy diner and they also had live performances at night- I had the most amazing cheese cake to celebrate my birthday while I watched an Elvis Presley movie. Although this hotel is not really close to the strip there is the Deuce double decker bus-$20 offers unlimited rides for 3days. This bus takes you to the strip and also up to Freemont St. Vegas offers so much but this trip, since it was my first time , I just wanted to explore. Went the visit the hotels on the strip, there's something always happening and so so so much to feed your eyes. Make sure to wear comfy shoes, carry water, if not a hat then shades- it's HOT. Also make you go to Freemont St there's so much to do and see. NEAR the Stratosphere hotel there's Walgreens, a huge gift shop and liquor store. People where always friendly and helpful. The only negative was food... big portions and expensive considering I went solo. For Most of the places the food portions are good for two people. They also offer a lot of two for one buffet coupons. I had the best experience traveling solo; nothing was scary. People are also busy having fun and don't pay too much attention on other people. The bus was just an amazing bonus. If i ever go to Vegas again I'd go to Stratosphere-definitely well priced hotel and perfect location. Located in the middle between the strip and downtown. Hope y'all find this beneficial

    « Nose peg required! »

1st hotel on the 2017 road trip across USA. Booked this hotel because it was cheapest and only staying for 1 night before picking up car in the morning. 10hr flight from UK, check in was quick which is good for Vegas but that's probably because everyone else is at the more expensive hotels. Non smoking room stunk of smoke and alcohol as soon as I opened door but I couldn't be bothered to complain. Wi-fi didn't work till midnight! Room was basic, dirty, noisy a/c, no mini bar, bed was uncomfortable. Never used any of hotels attractions so can't comment.

We enjoy the views on the of stratosphere. People fall in line to get in to the top to see the views. Specially at night it's nice to look at the views of Las Vegas. Don't missed it if you to Las Vegas they have bar. The highest bar on the top of stratosphere.

« Don't stay here - Long lines to check in/out rude staff!! »

First of all the location isn't great... (wrong end of the strip) Also we waited around 20 minutes in a line to check in because they didn't have enough staff working! The woman that checked us in was verging on rude and very unhelpful when we asked how much the buffet costs. She said we should call them from our room, but didn't give us a no. and there wasn't one in the room. Our TV remote didn't work and the front desk said they would send someone up... no one came. The buffet staff were generally friendly and helpful. Apart from one staff member who asked me questions whilst I was eating and became frustrated and angry when she couldn't understand my answer with the combination of my Australian accent and the food still in my mouth. Finally we nearly missed our airport shuttle as there was a line to check out, and the man behind the counter asked 3 times what room we were in. My partner told him 3 times and he replied "no" rudely, until finally saying "ok."

« OK, not on strip, they will charge extra for a decent room. Very good rides in tower. »

Room - very nice - but they are fixing up the hotel. You will see bad ratings on various sites about the rooms. So you pay extra for a remodeled room. Not on the strip - and not in a great neighborhood. So you have to walk or take a cab. Great rides and view in the tower. But you can go there for a few hours - not stay there. Best thing to do is look at a few sites and get the best price - maybe just as good on the strip. The Reo - off the strip is also very nice.

    « Amazing time »

Travelled alone, had an amazing time, staff was very friendly, specially the swimming pool barstaff, I also thank the security for escorting me back to my room after passing out by the pool, they was friendly about it not like the ones here in the UK. Loads of places to eat, few shops, the room was pretty dark, but it didn't bother me as I was hardly ever in there, only down fall was, it's abit far from the main strip, that's the only reason why I wouldn't stay again, but couldn't moan about the price of staying there. Thank you to all the staff.

    « My 50th and our wedding »

Lovely hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was always clean. Pool on the 8th floor was great. Ate in Roxys diner which was great and had a fantastic steak sandwich at McCalls (see photo). This hotel is right at the end of the strip but there is a bus stop right outside and you can get The Deuce bus to the strip. We hired a car and had great free valet parking at our hotel so no probs at all.

« Not expensive hotel but far from the center of the Strip »

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights for very good price. The room was modern and clean facing the city. There is a lot of walking inside the hotel. It is not next to the strip's center but we had a car so it wasn't a big problem, but you can't just walk to the center. We ate in the buffet, it was pretty good. You have free access to the top of the tower, were there in the day and night, very nice view. The overall service was good.

« Dreadful treatment of guests while major refurbishment going on. »

What a terrible way to treat guests . 3 of the 4 nights we were here we had major work going on directly above our room, as did many other people. Drilling, banging on a major scale. We went down to the lobby to complain to find around 50 other guests doing the same thing! The manager, CHristopher was rude and ineffective. Seemingly uncaring about people's holiday being ruined. Some guests actually had part of the ceilings had come down with water flooding in. His response? Not my problem. Resort fee refund only (a paltry 26 dollars!) his attitude was simply shocking.

    « Good price »

I did enjoy the pool area a lot. The fact that there was always some chair available is a big plus! It is important to make sure that this is always the case and that people don't reserve chairs for nothing. I also found the room clean enough but minor things would make the better for example a little plate for the hand soap so it does not hve to be directly on the counter, there was also some hand prints on the window that stayed there the entire 4 nights stay. Of course it is not the nicest hotel here but when you oay about 30$ a night it is way more than what you pay for. I upgraded to the 21st floor which i think has nicer rooms because i did not find the that much in need of repairs. Elevators were efficient too so was check in and check out.

« A bit tired and not so great service »

Our group of 13 checked into the hotel - this process took in excess of 1 1/2 hours and it appeared to be a problem to get everyone in the same tower, let alone on the same floor. Staff just did not seem that concerned about us. This was strange as we expected in a large "glitzy" establishment check in would have been quick and efficient - our experiences in much smaller, more basic hotels and places was far better. The rooms are very average and in need of an upgrade - all of us had a view of the other wings of the hotel which was a little disappointing. we also found that the hotel is very far down the strip and is quite a walk to the "action".

    « Excellent experience »

Even though it is an older hotel, it was clean and comfortable. the rooms were reasonable and I have no complaints. Discounts to the tower were a big plus. The topless pool was not as cool as it sounds but you don't get to choose who goes topless..

    « Should be condemned »

Absolutely disgusting!! Originally booked for 4 nights in a package. The only reason I didn't leave after seeing the room was because it was after 11 pm. The lobby is run down & old. The room was even worse. Shower didn't work properly & sprayed water everywhere. Toilet didn't flush properly & ran all night. No amenities in the bathroom. When I called the desk they said there was nothing they could do but sent up amenities. The room was old & rundown. Overall extremely disappointing. Needless to say I checked out first thing in the am & went somewhere else.

    « Avoid it »

There's no Tea and Coffee Maker in the room Far from main city hub where the main action is Old dated hotel, looks like a motel, dirty old carpets and old colour. There's no maintenance at all Individual air-conditioned in the room is so noisy that it's very hard to get a chance to sleep
