Best Western Plus Le Canard Sur le Toit

We arrived in good time on a weekday afternoon and after my eyes had adjusted to gloom espied a receptionist hiding behind her screen. Zero welcome. Went through the usual yes, we have a reservation, name and covid check. Went to the room and fair play they are OK and clean. Decided to have a drink around 6:30 but the bar was closed - service from 8 - 12 apparently. Wandered across to the restaurant which was shut as was the 'pool bar' This place has the air of an out of season amusement park which was overdue and make over. The restaurant had very little to offer a vegetarian and was heavily loaded with duck in every conceivable form. Reminiscent of the two Ronnies Rook Restaurant sketch. If it wasn't duck then it was available with foie gras sauce........ We went out for dinner, since there was no outside seating area for a drink, no staff to serve one and the bar was closed. On our return around 9, the lights over the bar were on, but none in the actual room and no customers, yet there quite a few cars in the car park. I've watched too many episodes of Ozark; was this a money laundering operation for the mob.........?

The room in terms of size, cleanliness and decor was perfectly fine. Staff on the front desk pleasant. I thought the overall appearance of building tatty and the gardens from the limited view I had needed attention. My main issue was the food, or rather the lack thereof. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon staying for one night. I was informed that the restaurant did not open on a Sunday and other than a KFC or MacDonalds (neither inspiring choices for a non meat eater) were the only options. ( I considered taking a taxi to Toulouse but judging by the cost to get from airport to Colomiers that was not a reasonable option). Breakfast the next day was miserable. Choice of 3 uninspiring cereals, a bread roll and two dried out pastries. I had to ask the guy on reception to get me milk, for the cereal,and bread for toast once a toaster was produced.

This hotel is good value for money; nice rooms and good service. What merits special mention is the restaurant that serves clients of the hotel but also clients from "outside"; it is not really gastronimic, but it has all the potential.

Hôtel was ideal for my trip but be warned that it is in an industrial zone but not far from the airport. The personnel were very friendly and the room had a large bed and walk in shower. We had dinner at the restaurant which was very good with lots of duck on the menu... of course! Large portions, even in the menu. We had a lovely evening.

This hotel is close to Toulouse and the hotel is located in a quiet area and have lot of parking in front of and behind the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast buffet. Much space in the room.

A nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were well appointed with a clean, modern bathroom. The beds were really comfortable. Had breakfast twice which was ok; good selection of pastries and bread. Lovely grounds much not much else around it. The hotel is quite a way out of the city. It cost 35 euros each way in to Toulouse.

The Canard sur le Toit is a restaurant in an old farmhouse next door to the Best Western in Colomiers. There are well-priced three-course lunch menus, pleasantly prepared and topped off with very civil and discrete service.

Found the hotel to be nice clean & tidy, reception staff very helpful. Used the restaurant and found it to be very good and very popular though a little expensive All in all a good place to stay away from Blagnac airport

I was in Toulouse for a conference and wanted somewhere in Colomiers within walking distance of the venue. This place fitted the bill even though the room rate was a bit higher than I really wanted to pay. The hotel is situated in the middle of a sprawling mess of retail and light industrial units so the location is ideal for visiting business people, definitely not the tourist crowd. I went for a couple of morning runs and to be honest I was hard pushed to know that I was in France. If a McDonald's or KFC within walking distance floats your boat, then it's ideal. The hotel itself is just a box that they have tried to make look local by adding a red tiled roof and a few cypress trees. To say that it looks out of place is an understatement. A modern building would have fitted in much better. Having said all that, the room was spacious, clean and modern with a bath, separate shower and separate WC. The bed was enormous and comfortable. The free wifi was fast and reliable, too. The dining room seemed to be closed on my first night so I went out for a walk and finding nothing local ended up at McDonald's. However, the following morning's continental breakfast was very good indeed. It was buffet style and you could eat as much as you wanted. The pastries and bread were fresh and extremely tasty. There were scrambled eggs and bacon available as a hot option. Coffee was produced by one of those fancy bean to cup machines and was perfectly acceptable. The staff were very polite and helpful, even heading off to the local electrical store when I realised I'd forgotten my plug adapter. My total bill came to 334eu for two nights (I hadn't realised that breakfast wasn't included in my rate) which I thought was a bit steep. However, if you want a quiet well appointed and modern hotel with good wifi and comfortable beds then this might just be the ticket.

I stayed at the Canard sur le Toit for five nights and slept very well every night. Rooms were very modern and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Tested the restaurant, the duck was amazing. Swam in the outdoor pool. I would recommend paying the 10 euros extra per night for a superior room situated far away from the busy main road. You need a car to get this hotel.

We did not get off to a good start when the receptionist told us the restaurant was open when in fact it was closed for 5 days. This was not apparent from any of the websites we looked at. It turned out she meant the poolside bar which by no stretch of the imagination could be called s restaurant. The hotel was virtually empty which may account for the poor breakfast on the first morning. On the second morning the breakfast was even worse with a very much reduced choice and what there was was covered in flies. We complained but the one member of staff on duty was not at all helpful. On checking out I asked for the cost of the breakfast to be deducted from our bill but was told this was not possible so I refused to pay at all. Still in discussion with Best Western about this. In addition to the above the shower cubicle in our rom was very poorly designed and it was impossible not to soak the bathroom floor generally which made it a dangerous skating rink. We were not intending to complain but the fly strewn breakfast on the last day was the final straw. We stay at Best Western a lot and although some hotels are better than others generally the standard is high. We are currently touring France and staying at some 8 to 9 Best Western hotels. So far, either exception of this hotel they have all been excellent. I think Best Western need to look carefully at whether they want this hotel to continue operating under their name. If do then many improvements need making not least of which is having insect proof covers over the breakfast food.

I stayed for two nights. The room was spacious, clean and modern furnished. Stylish bathroom. Breakfast offers everything you need for a perfect start in the morning. Restaurant nearby. Hotel is close to the main road. A lot of traffic also during the night.

Perfectly good hotel for business. Pool looks like it would be lovely in summer. If you like to eat duck this is the place for you. I loved the scrambled egg with duck fritons for breakfast. Nice selection of duck dishes for dinner too.

This hotel is an "average Best Western"... Nothing extremely surprising in the rooms and the breakfast can be quoted as poor. The reception is just ok, and the overall cleaning of the common spaces is also not so good. But, and there is a but... The restaurant is excellent. The quality of the food on one side, the manager of the restaurant taking care of the visitors on the other side is excellent.

A hotel in the middle of an industrial estate? How awful does that sound? Well, do not be put off! You will find a delightful historic manor house (now the hotel's restaurant), a modern and comfortable hotel, super swimming pool with a bar/café serving your needs as you take in the rays, a fitness room, wifi and spacious grounds littered with benches and fountains in which to wander. The staff were delightful and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious with local and fresh specialities. A surprising gem of a hotel.
