Hotels in Haute-Normandie: what our guests say

Best Western Plus Le Conquerant Rouen Nord
"Overnight stop solved"
stevens626, 27 Septembre 2026

After two disappointing stays at Le Conquerant it is a pleasure to confirm that the hotel has got things together. An online booking gets a confirmation email and no flurry of ‘our team is anxious to welcome you' emails. Just a friendly and efficient reception. The rooms may not ‘cocoon you in luxury' but are perfectly comfortable; well equipped; and kept to the highest standard. The restaurant has lost its MacDonalds vibe. It may not be fine dinning but provides a good offering in a pleasant environment. So, for a one night stop on a journey north it does everything we want – an efficient stop with a good room and a good meal. We will be back.

"A literary escape"
msgolondoner, 24 Septembre 2026

If you have a love for literature, France's literary-themed hotels are an experience in themselves. ✨ This beautiful hotel in Rouen is entirely dedicated to Gustave Flaubert, and every detail has been thoughtfully designed around his life, work, and literary world. From the moment I arrived, I felt as though I had stepped into a different era. The decor, the atmosphere, and the carefully curated but humble details made the entire stay feel deeply personal and wonderfully immersive.

"Charming hotel in the centre of Rouen"
Markus M, 22 Septembre 2026

Wonderfully charming and romantic hotel just in the medieval city centre of Rouen. We had a room with balcony overviewing the rooftops of the city centre with a view of the cathedral. Breakfast was excellent and the romantic package was a beautiful little add-on.

"Unique and special hotel"
mardimarvel, 14 Septembre 2026

This was a fabulous one-night stay in Rouen. If you are at all interested in literature and books you will be charmed by this experience. The whole hotel is themed around Flaubert and his works, there are copies of original scripts and some early editions on display, as well as interesting information throughout, almost like staying in a themed museum. Even down to the music played at breakfast, which is a compilation of the author's favourite pieces! The location is absolutely superb, right in the middle of the ancient heart of the city. The room (superior double) was very clean and attractive, and even had a small balcony. The staff were attentive and very helpful and the breakfast was copious, varied and great quality. I have only one small suggestion, there were no tea making facilities in the room, only Nespresso "coffee" which we dislike. Being English we do like to have our tea first thing so a kettle would be welcome. Otherwise really fantastic and we hope to return!

"Great location"
michaeldK9943YV, 28 Août 2026

First trip to Rouen and this was a perfect location to stay. Steps from the Place du Vieux-Marche with restaurants and bars, but still quiet and serene. The room was comfortable, with good climate control. There are very limited choices for food or snacks in the hotel. You will need to visit the nearby marketplace if you want have anything. Most of the main sites are within walking distance, if you are comfortable with walking one Km.

Best Western Plus Hotel de Dieppe 1880
"Convenient Location Close to the Station"
J P B, 24 Août 2026

The hotel is very conveniently located, less than a two-minute walk from the railway station. The room was small and quite dark, but adequate, with tea and coffee-making facilities and a comfortable bed. The view wasn't great, looking directly into an internal courtyard, and the shower room was also rather cramped. The lift is small and looks somewhat antiquated, although it did the job. Breakfast was very good, with a decent selection of hot and cold food and drinks. The breakfast area was also a good spot for a bit of people-watching. The staff were friendly and helpful, and most spoke good English. The restaurant had a fairly small menu, with some of the dishes perhaps more of an acquired taste. The surrounding area was quiet at night, despite the hotel's proximity to the railway station. Overall, a convenient and comfortable base, particularly if travelling by train.

"Le Havre, une ville surprenante!"
CATHERINE B, 17 Août 2026

Great hotel, situated right in the centre, with large, clean and bright bedrooms. It's really easy to walk around and explore the town, also with free bikes (lent out by the hotel).

"Perfect stay over"
tvd-vorden, 17 Août 2026

Perfect place for a stop over on our way home. EVERYTHING was right. Rooms perfectly clean. 2 large (1m wide) beds. Good airco (no noise). Lovely breakfast. The staff is supurb, the dont come any more friendly. I mean true friendly, not American friendly. Especially the waiter serving coffee at breakfast. In the past 7 years I stayed in hotels 2 nights a week, but this was one of the better ones. Thank you Best Western.

We loved the literary connection and the artistic and stylish environment. The bedrooms were comfortable and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent, a very wide choice. The staff were very helpful.
