We had booked a room for 1 night Bed and Breakfast via the Best Western website. Arrived at hotel rather stressed as our SatNav kept sending us to a completely different location and eventually had to use Google Maps to get there. The hotel itself is very nice, pleasant room all very clean. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. We had dinner in the restaurant which was really lovely and the breakfast offering the next morning was excellent. However, when we came to check out, the receptionist handed me the card machine and told me how much she was going to charge me. I asked to see a print out of my bill, which seemed to cause her to have a bit of a huff. It is standard procedure in all hotels to show the guest their final account before asking for payment. The bill was eventually produced and I noticed that we had been charged for 2 breakfasts. I explained in French (I am fluent!) that our rate included breakfast but she said “computer says no”! I produced the booking confirmation email on my phone which clearly stated that we were on a B&B inclusive rate but she said she didn't understand English and called a colleague who did. The second receptionist confirmed that the charge should be removed, but the first receptionist was reluctant to do so. It left me with a less than satisfactory feeling about this hotel and should be a warning to others who have booked on a B&B basis to make sure they check their bill.
We were on our way from Wiltshire UK to the Dordogne, and Evreux is about half way, so just right for an overnight stay. This hotel is close to the town centre and has plenty of parking. There is also a retail park opposite. The rooms are comfortable and the restaurant provided both a good evening meal and a comprehensive buffet breakfast. We would be happy to stay here again if passing this way.
the hotel is well placed and well maintained. within walking distance to lovely restaurants in town. do note that there are no kettles or iron in the room and no drinking water.
Been staying here for business for the last 12 month. Breakfast has always been difficult. Rude and unfriendly staff especially Emanuel. If your English. It's not worth turning up for breakfast. You will be ignored. No coffee or decent service. When checking out I waited 20 minutes as Emanuel was too busy rearranging flowers and filling up already full juice pots. He just doesn't like English people. I have not gone down to breakfast for the last two months because of this. Last night myself and other colleagues were ignored at the bar and not served a drink. We then proceeded to the restaurant. Food has always been good. Services has been awful since Vanessa left. We waited over an hour for out mains. Other tables had three course before we got mains. Even though we were the 1st table in. We ended up walking out and getting mc Donald's instead. We shall not be staying here anymore in the future. Utterly disgusted with the service. Avoid at all costs.
I'm from Evreux. I grew up here. The Best Western is an oasis of international standard, safety and civilization here. It's the only good hotel we have. - You see, Evreux, in particular La Madeleine area , is a well known hotbed of violence and crime. There one attraction and it's the cathedral. Covid killed the high street and it never recovered. Every hotel is a run down hole because no sane tourist would stop in my hometown unless they absolutely have to. Located near a hypermarket, the BW not only clean and well arranged, but all the staff speaks English. In fact a lot of their staff lived abroad so they know what international clients expect. The service is top notch. Sure it's 3x the price of other hotels but that's what you pay to have access to a world class hotel where you wouldn't expect it. The restaurant is really good, it's not the best in town but it's super convenient. The place is near the hyper market so you can do shopping safely. The staff accommodates requests most hotels would flat out refuae. It's clean and everything works - maybe that's normal to you but trust me that's a rarity here. The Internet works great. When I visited there were people from all over the planet: Florida, Germany, Cali, and even Texas. They all loved it and it was fun to feel 'between like minded traveller's. PS: it's also the only place where
It's hard to put into words how disappointed I am with the way my wife and I were treated by the night manager. We arrived at 1:00 AM after having walked 2 miles from the local hospital (no Uber or taxi available at that hour). I was being treated there for a detached retina so wasn't at the top of my game. After being ignored for a few minutes, the night manager told us there were no rooms available (unlikely) and he couldn't help us find one at another hotel either. When it became apparent that we weren't leaving the lobby and with a lot of cajoling by my wife, he eventually relented and reluctantly tried to help us out. In the meantime we worked with our cruise manager in Paris (AmaWaterways, the best!!) to find a local hotel (The Greet) where we were warmly welcomed and fed. While we had to walk another mile to that hotel, at least we had a place to stay the night. While I'm confident this isn't normal behavior by the management team, it's the only experience I have. Based on this experience one star is too many.
Roadworks nearby do not help but we found access even using a sat-nav to be verging on diabolically difficult, we used the one way back entrance twice (the wrong way). Plenty of parking, some dedicated for Blue Badge users. The centrally located hotel is excellent, staff brilliant, corridors the most interesting I have found with angled doors to break ones' vision up. Bedroom well equiped for a long stay with comfortable beds, 2 tub chairs i upright chair, plenty of shelves, a handing space and a food cooler. Newspapers are welcome and in at least two languages, English and French. Care has to be taken in the shower, the fixed glass screen is too short and it is easy to flood the floor. Excellent breadfast and dinner offerings.
Stayed here for one night on our journey south and can't praise the hotel and staff high enough . Every aspect of the hotel was excellent , special praise to Vanessa who served us lunch , she was professional, friendly and efficient and an asset to the hotel . The whole experience made our holiday very enjoyable and we will certainly use Best Western Plus again
After a pretty unpleasant stay at the B&B hotel in Amiens the night before, we were a bit apprehensive - but we need not have worried, this hotel was really nice. Very easy to get to, the main car park was full (afternoon event on at the hotel, after which the car park was fine) but we paid a few euros to use the underground car park, which was very pleasant, and has direct access to reception. Hotel boasts that all rooms are soundproofed and air-conditioned: yep, tested this, and they are. All the amenities you'd want: fridge, kettle, coffee maker, decent TV, good fast WiFi, comfy bed, very clean room and nice staff. Hotel location is good - it's a short(ish) walk to Evreux centre. A totally blameless hotel, recommended!
From the friendly welcome to the comfortable room & great food, this hotel is our number one choice for an overnight stop whenever we drive to Charente. There is a car park on site. It is easy to find and has a petrol station & supermarket in close proximity
Fantastic hotel - everything works well, the rooms are well appointed and the staff are universally welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet is well presented and all the products quite delicious! A veritable pleasure - un grand bravo à toute l'équipe!
A comfortable, 4-star hotel very conveniently located, close to the centre of town. We also chose to dine on Sunday evening, which was a pleasing revelation: very tasty and well presented. Breakfast was copious and diverse.
It's a good hotel for business trip with available parking on site, with available breakfast dinner. Conference room is available if needed, location is a little bit remote but in walking distance to town centre so it shouldn't be a problem if you want to have a meal in downtown
Great hotel for a a night. Clean rooms, good shower, staff was friendly and helpful. Location near shopping centre and downtown. Gas prices low at the gas station across the street. The restaurant was closed when we arrived, but they gave us a list with options for other restaurants nearby.
Very disappointed in the lack of sleep, due to the aircon making a boom boom boom noise all night. When speaking to a member of staff they admit there is a problem though out the hotel with the aircon. My question is why do they not get it repaired?? Close the hotel for the duration of the work. Surely this has to be better than everybody suffering from the terrible noise of the aircon!!!
An excellent hotel, very modern with large air conditioned rooms,we had room 310,tastefully decorated.Great value for money with a fine bar area and restaurant attached. The staff are very helpful, warm and welcoming .The hotel is just a 15 minute walk from the town centre. The photos on the web sites don't do the place justice!A really great hotel.
Impressive modern hotel with excellent on site parking and friendly and efficient staff. Quality room, with good lighting, comfortable bed and adequate storage. Coffee machine (with coffee and tea options), though we couldn't get it to work properly. Aircon, though it wasn't possible to adjust it and we left the small double-glazed window open – a bit noisy, but cooler. Good size TV, but CNN the only channel in English. Nice bathroom, with modern walk-in shower, though lighting a bit dim. Separate and tiny WC. Large, attractive restaurant with good breakfast selection, attentive and professional staff and really excellent food at dinner. Far better than any of the meals in the four Mercures we also stayed at. Easy to find by car and a 15-20 minute walk to the interesting Cathedral.
great service very comfortable room and delicious dinner in the room. we asked for twin beds in a quiet position and got exactly what we wanted. This Best Western is one of the best, very helpful receptionist when my mobile stopped working and I had to try and sort it at the reception
We stayed here for one night during out outward and return journeys between Yorkshire and the Dordogne, in rooms 117 over looking the front of the hotel and 108 at the rear looking at a stream. Thoroughly modern, clean and efficient hotel. The rooms are basic and comfortable with large king size beds. Ideal for our single nights. My only criticism would be there's only a coffee machine in the room, no kettle or tea for those of us that prefer that in the morning and the separate toilet is too small, you cannot stand at the lavatory and close the door. Whoever designed this? Looking at the depth of the bathroom there should be equal depth to this room. That aside the restaurant is excellent with a good choice and daily specials. The bar is comfortable for either aperitifs or post dinner drinks. Breakfast is the total self service buffet affair, again with a wide choice to set you up for the day. Yes I would stay here again despite the shuffle into and out of the lavatory.
The Best Western Plus Palais Des Congres is a typical business hotel located next to an exhibition centre. Stayed here for 4 nights as a base for touring the area before returning to Paris. My room 225 overlooked the front entry and where I usually parked as parking was free for the uncovered ground level spots but you had to pay to park in the basement. The whole place felt modern and the bathroom was no exception with a large shower with both a rain head and handheld shower heads but no door, a decent sized vanity and a separate wc but the door into it made it difficult to enter. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed, large tv, desk and chair. There was a little sitting area with two chairs and a little table but while the chairs looked nice they just were not that comfortable and you wouldn't want to sit there and watch TV for a couple of hours. There was a little glass doored fridge but it was very low down and it was hard to fit a 2 litre bottle in it. There was a capsule coffee machine and some handy shelves and the closet was adequate and above the fridge were some shelves and a safe at eye level. The hotel is opposite both a big hypermarket and the conference centre and a short drive from the centre of the city.
All round a great stay. Some small issues but probably down to the current crisis we are all experiencing. The rooms could be cleaner as we found hair in bathrooms and toilets. The coffee machine was full of calcium. These are just small issues but need rectifying.!
Had a disabled room (104). Very large even if of odd shapes. 2 bathrooms, one a wet room. Very nice bed, could have been a little higher. The bar prices were very good and the food was superb. The staff were very helpful and the price at weekends is very good. Disabled parking right outside the entrance and there is a large underground garage with a lift to all floors. The old town is very nice.
The hotel was easy to see from the road, but we found it awkward to find the way in. The outside car park is very small for the size of the hotel - not sure if there is additional underground parking. Reception area large and airy and the reception staff were pleasant and friendly. Our room was large and clean. There was a walk in shower and a small separate toilet. Nice big fluffy towels and toiletries. Bathroom was spotless. Air conditioning efficient and WiFi quick to connect. Our room was at the back and was very quiet, overlooking a residential area and small river. There was a Nespresso in the room, but a kettle would have been more practical. Breakfast was the usual hotel fare with hot and cold food, cereal, yoghurt. It was constantly checked on and topped up and the tables were cleaned and cleared quickly. There was a discrepancy with our bill on check-out as the offer on the Best Western website was not showing on the hotels system. However we had a printout of the offer and the manager amended the bill to reflect the tariff we had booked. Opposite the hotel there is a large Cora shopping complex with a fuel station.
staff excellent, a great place to stay and very good value. Great stopover from southern France to channel. Rooms are spotless as are public areas. Rooms are also of good size. Cant think of anything wrong to say abut the place
I might be missing something about this town yet the number of times I have stopped there over the years, it just felt ....flat. We tried to book into some of the town's other budget hotels in the suburbs for dinner and a room, and we found that often their chef could not be bothered to turn up!! Assuming it would be expensive, we drove here as a last resort because we needed dinner and a room at any cost. And because of their willingness to to work or some other wonderful ethics, the staff and quality of room, food and very sweet service was all a Complete Delight!! The grand piano in the central hall was also very tempting to play, and a lovely detail nice to see anyway. This is now our first resort at a super rate during the week. when we need to stop in this town we'll certainly be back. Thank you to all at BWPPdC for keeping up the ante. Very Well done.
Maybe 20 or so visits I've made to this hotel over the years. Great staff, good restaurant, well appointed rooms, free parking, easy walk in to town and across the road from a huge Cora supermarket. What's not to like?
Rooms were very clean and the cleaning personnel catered to you.The overall service is very good, I would stay there again. I did have an issue with the breakfast charges, no one noted when you ate or not, so I was charged everyday for it.
Stayed here for 2 nights, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Beds are memory foam which I liked. Good powerful shower. Breakfast offered plenty of choice. Had dinner in tge rest on one of the nights and the food was very good. Staff were very helpful. Big supermarket across the road for any of the things you forget.
We stayed in 2010 when it was a Mercure and since B Western took over the whole place has been renovated (2012) and it's much improved. It's on the outskirts adjacent to a business park and opposite a hypermarket but so easy to walk into the centre (15 minute max). Another benefit is free parking and there is an small underground garage. Rooms are functional but well equipped and modern rain showers have been fitted. The air conditioning was a bonus in the recent hot spell. Buffet breakfast @ euro 14.50 was good value with a selection of hot and cold dishes available in the nice dining room. Nespresso available as well as tea etc. For dinner you can do no worse than walking 50 metres to Cote Terre et Mar.
This hotel ticked all the boxes - quiet room, comfortable bed, excellent shower. There was a large TV in the room and very good wifi. We ate in the restaurant twice as we were too tired after travelling and watching the tour de France to venture out. The food and service were superb and great value for money. The only gripe was that on the first night we had to wait a long time to be served in the bar.
This is a very comfortable hotel close to the centre of Evreux and near some very good restaurants. We had am efficient and friendly welcome and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Clean and well furnished. There is a nice bar and restaurant on site.
This is not a 4-star hotel by any sane definition of the term. This hotel has amenities to the level of a 3-star hotel at best, and offers a very confusing experience to any customer foolish enough to believe what's written in the "Guest Directory", a work of pure fiction provided in the bedroom (and translated by an amateur). All the information on room service availability times in this book is WRONG, with room service in fact unavailable for most of the day. Also, do not believe the menu in the lift promising two dishes available from Room Service "24h/24". This is not true, and the alleged 24-hour snacks and drinks available at reception don't exist either. There is no vending machine. In fact, this hotel has absolutely the worst catering to the needs of late-arriving guests that I've ever encountered in any hotel in the last decade. If you try politely asking for any such luxury as a bag of crisps or can of drink at night, you will be looked at as if you had just demanded that a mountain of cocaine and an army of prostitutes be brought to your room. And don't think you'll be getting any nuts or crisps in that minibar either. Mine contained 3 soft drinks (two of which were water) and that was it for the stay. When I tried to return to my room after going out, I found that the lift refused to take me to the 2nd floor, preferring to take me on a scenic tour of the basement, then the ground floor, then the basement, then the ground floor, etc. until I was forced to take the stairs (fortunately I'm not disabled). Obviously I informed reception though nothing was done about it. When I finally got to my room, the key card refused to work and I had to take it down to the reception again. The desk staff did something to reset it but I do not remember any apology or explanation being forthcoming. Maybe I had just strayed into a particularly boring part of Lewis Carroll's Wonderland. The cleaners were definitely the nicest and most helpful members of staff in this hotel, so I feel kind of bad about reporting the mould I found on the small shower head, but it is mould and I know some people can be made ill by that stuff so if you have an allergy, be warned. Apart from that the room was clean, and the food was very good although certainly not cheap. In fact the food is the main reason I am rating this "Poor" and not "Terrible". I've stayed in a lot of 4-star places and this was the second worst experience of that kind I've ever had.
I spent 5 nights here and had a quiet and enjoyable stay. The room was modern with a good coffee machine and comfy bed. The bathroom was also well appointed. Service was very good and there was a decent selection of food at breakfast. The warm food could have been better. Used the restaurant twice which was very good. My only gripe about the hotel was the fact that every time I used the shower it was uncomfortably hot. No amount of adjusting the valve helped.
second time we visited this hotel with six friends last Saturday. we all got excellent, clean and very well equipped rooms. nothing negative can be said about the rooms. the whole hotel looks very clean and very modern. we also had dinner and breakfast in this hotel. both were ok. price/quality of this hotel and restaurant is very good, especially during weekends. to be recommended
We chose this hotel as a stop over on our way to south West France and we were not dissappointed. It's easy to find d and has a free car park for guests. The receptionist was really friendly and had a lovely warm smile to greet us. The hotel is fairly new so all the rooms are modern and well appointed. The beds and pillows were exceptionally good and gave us an excellent night's sleep. The hotel is on a main road but the double glazing in the bedrooms keeps noise to a minimum. We had a 15 minute walk into town in the evening to get a meal which gave us chance to stretch our legs after driving all day. The hotel restaurant looked nice and got good reviews but we wanted the walk so didn't try it. A great hotel and we will be back.
One night in the hotel on our way through France. Nice room and lovely meal in the restaurant. Good breakfast. I left my Kindle in the room and did not realise I had done so until the hotel emailed to say they had it. They helpfully posted it home for me
I thought this hotel was pretty good overall. Stayed one night on the way to Calais from southern France. Bedroom clean, very comfortable bed, staff friendly. We slept soundly. Because it was raining we ate in the hotel restaurant which was OK but nothing special. I would consider staying here again as it pretty much does what it says on the tin.
We had a fantastic stay at the Best Western in Evreux. From the start, the entire staff went above and beyond to accommodate our fairly large group and bent over backwards to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The hotel receptionists were particularly helpful and amazingly friendly. I have yet to experience this kind of hospitality in any other hotel I've ever stayed in. Evreux is an excellent town centrally located between Paris and Normandy making travel/touring extremely easy. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel!
We mostly use Best Western in France as dog friendly. This was our first time here. In spite of arriving 20mins before the restaurant closing we were made welcome and was no problem getting dinner ( 10pm). Excellent steak frites ( entrecote) and carafe of Bourgueil. Very friendly and helpful staff, multilingual. Our labradoodle is fairly big but was made a fuss over.Evening was enhance by coach load of English "boomers" having a singsong and then a local couple getting engage ( down on one knee, flowers then many cheers). Town centre is 10min walk, pretty town with small river. Rooms were large, quiet, comfortable; separate loo makes them a 4 star outfit. When paying she waived the usual charge for having a pet. Nice touch. Also, is secure parking.
This hotel is not bad. It is not great either. It is not located in the centre of Evreux but about 10 minutes walk from it. I guess a plus is that it is across from a large commercial mall, in case you need to buy anything. The rooms are ok without any big luxury. This is very much an executive hotel without much charm. The people at the reception desk were polite and professional. The carpet along the bed in the room was wet (probably a leak)? Apart from that the room and the bed were ok. Basically I was not thrilled but for 80 euros a night, this was not a rip-off. Probably one of the best options if you come to Evreux for a limited period of time. This would not make the grade if you were considering it for a honeymoon or a special occasion...
I stayed here just 2 nights while on business in the area. The front desk was very friendly and helpful upon arrival. She booked 2 taxis for me to take me where I needed to go on Monday. The restaurant dinner was pretty good & convenient since there isn't much else around. The breakfast buffet include a large selection, including scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage along with the more traditional Euro breakfast offerings. The wifi was top notch and the rooms were larger than your standard Euro rooms. There is a workout room but it's very small.
We used this hotel as a stop-over en route to Paris. It's perfect for travelling as it's located right alongside the main route through Evreux, is easy to find and has plenty of parking on site. It's also located opposite a large Cora supermarket, which was good for us as we had some shopping to do before we left. The rooms are great; large, with big, comfortable beds, and good bathrooms. It all feels very new. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and had good meals all round. Service at dinner was a little on the slow side, even though the restaurant wasn't busy, but we had plenty of time and were quite happy to relax and enjoy the meal. This hotel is excellent value for money on weekends.
Nice hotel with mostly very friendly helpful staff. Room was nice big bed, good shower, good ac. Hotel seems to have a strange rattle every now and again that all our party heard. Good stay. Only negative was breakfast that seemed to close early and was being packed up under us....
Good quality hotel, helpful staff but the reception was somewhat under staffed at peak periods when the bar was busy. The room was excellent with everything expected, certainly worthy of the 'plus' rating by Best Western. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet. The town is well worth a stroll a mix of old & new, the cathedral far bigger than expected. Overall a good experience.
The hotel is very modern with large clean rooms that look like they have been recently refurbished. The Car parking is plentiful and easy to access. The only complaint we had was that they could use more staff on in the early afternoon. The lady on reception was also doing the bar and sorting out booking for everything else so drinks were a bit slow. I will say that all the staff were great and helpful and made our stay.
this newer hotel has a great lobby with piano and bar, where we watched the Monaco Grand Prix in style. Room 122 was comfortable with excellent AC and linens. The Best Western Salade was terrific, full of meats and veggies for only 12E. Free parking and WIFI, and Great Front Desk Staff at all times.( only Con; The snooty, blond girl in the restaurant who laughed at us needs further service training.) We would come here again.
Excellent hotel in a lovely town in France. Stayed here for a business trip and the hotel is very welcoming and comfortable. Ideally situated a short walk from the town centre and approx. 15min walk from the train station, Evreux is a lovely place in Normandy. Although the town has plenty of options to eat and drink we decided to eat in the hotel after a day travelling and for the convenience. The restaurant is excellent for dinner with a wide choice of food and drinks. The breakfast is continental as you would expect in a French hotel and again set you up well for the day. The rooms are comfortable and very clean so the hotel met all of the expectations of a Best Western. I asked reception the night before to book me a taxi for the following morning which was done with little fuss and the car arrived exactly on time. definitely worth another stay.
An upmarket hotel for a reasonable price. Modern, clean, very friendly and helpful English-speaking staff. Excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast which is open every day. We use this hotel as an overnight stop on our way back from holiday in central France so our holidays always end with an excellent dinner and a good night's sleep. The hotel also has good parking facilities.
I stayed with a school group at the Best Western in Evreux. All the staff 'bent over backwards' to be helpful... the students were very impressed by the rooms... all en suite with lovely decor. They were more impressed by the breakfasts which were abundant...and enjoyed the pancakes and bacon! We had a lovely stay and this hotel should be recommended for its positive ambiance.
I haven't found a better hotel for our stopover on the way to Calais from S.W. France. Most rooms have showers, but you can request a bath at no extra cost, the beds are large and comfortable with good linen. The restaurant is good and service is efficient and friendly One complaint is the coffee and tea maker which is in a very dark corner in the passageway. A chair or stool in the bathroom would also be appreciated.
My wife and I have stayed at this hotel several times. In fact, we always stay here when we are in Evreux. Unfortunately, we will not be staying at this hotel again unless the following issue is addressed by the manager and we receive assurances that it will not happen again. In fact, we will report this issue to the Best Western Head Office if we do not receive a satisfactory response. The issue is as follows: On leaving our room on the morning of our departure on Sunday 8 January, we were shocked to see that the 'clean' sheets for the bed had been placed on the floor in the corridor outside our room. In other words, they had been placed directly on the carpet where people and dogs (the hotel is, unfortunately, pet-friendly) walk every day. Those sheets are then placed on the bed where people sleep. This is disgusting! Disconcertingly, when we reported the issue to one of the ladies on the reception, she looked at us as if we were stupid. She told us that it was perfectly normal to place the clean bed sheets on the floor and that other hotels do this as well. Her attitude was, quite frankly, very disturbing and very insulting. We have just spent the last 110 days staying in hotels all over Europe (we are business travellers) and not once have we seen clean sheets and towels places on the floor. It was normal to see this in hotels across Europe 10 or 20 years ago, but these days, most decent hotels have realized that not only is it extremely unhygienic to place 'clean' bed linen and towels directly on the floor, it is also very dangerous for people who suffer from allergies. Floors and carpets, no matter how clean they look, contain dirt, dust and germs. All in all, it is a disgusting and negligent practice and it should be stopped. Most hotels take the clean bed linen and towels directly from the trolley to the room. Sadly, not the Best Western in Evreux. The most disconcerting thing for us was that the lady on the reception thought that what we were saying was nonsense. The look on her face was that of ridicule. She clearly did not take our complaint seriously. That was a mistake. My wife and I take matters of hygiene very seriously. If we stay in a hotel where hygiene is not satisfactory, we make certain that this is made public and that the head office is informed. Bad hygiene in hotels is unforgivable and we find it sad that a reputable chain like Best Western does not enforce high standards of hygiene. If the receptionist in this Best Western thinks that a complaint about hygiene is a joke, what other things are wrong with that hotel? It does not bear thinking about. The receptionist half-heartedly told us that she would pass our complaint on to the manager. I very much doubt that she did this. We will not stay here again until we are reassured that the practice of placing 'clean' bed linen and towels on the floor is stopped. PS: In our photo, you will see that the clean sheets are actually on the pillow cases which are in direct contact with the carpet. Just to remind you, you put your face on the pillow cases when you sleep :(
Good hôtel for business Travel, restaurant open until around 9/10PM, breakfast are very complete, hôtel very clear, quality of food are OK, just be careful, parking outside is small and full quickly .
Very comfortable, clean and attentive staff - would recommend you stay here if in town. Although on the main road is very quiet and parking easy - 4 mins walk into the town centre and good restaurants around.
This was an overnight stop on the way back from Andorra, very nice rooms and the staff could not have been more helpful. We ate in the hotel and the food was excellent, much better than I expected. I would definitely recommend.
due to a problem with the car, uk assistance put us up here for a few days. nice sized room with aircon, very clean, good sized TV, wi fi a bit variable, nice bathroom. best to get down for breakfast early - leave it until 09.00 and there's not much left and bacon/sausage are a bit cold. good selection of teas. staff all pretty helpful with varying levels of speaking english. Evreux isn't really a touristy place but quite a pleasant little town nonetheless. if you're out for a drink, oddly everywhere seems to close at 8.30pm... handy hypermarket over the road, nice swimming pool just behind that too.
I stumbled on this facility looking for a hotel in Evreux and am very happy I did. The staff was extremely professional in appearance and manner and very friendly. The price was more than I wanted but I decided to stay anyway. I'm very happy I did. The room was roomy and comfortable, extremely clean and quiet even though I faced a busy intersection/roundpoint. The WC was smaller than expected is the only complaint I would have. I would without question stay at this facility again and will probably book in advance on my planned trip next year. I had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was excellent and the price quite reasonable. Service was friendly and excellent. Breakfast at this facility was also very good with a wide selection. I was extremely satisfied at this hotel.
Good hotel in reasonable location; 10 to 15 minutes walk to main centre. Rooms nice and free WiFi throughout. Also Free parking. Staff very helpful. Good for overnight stop if heading south or back to channel ports. Also convenient for Givernay (for Monet garden). Evreux great cathedral but quiet night life.
Excellent hotel, great staff, lovely big room with power shower & aircon, fine attention to detail throughout. Had a 3 course dinner in restaurant which was very good. Would highly recommend and would stay again!! We didn't have breakfast as had to leave early which was unfortunate. Thank you.
We stayed three nights on our way back to UK. Hotel is short walk to the beautiful town with plenty of shops. Across the road is a large supermarket with petrol station. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Room was air conditioned with a small fridge. We ate every night in the restaurant and the food was delicious. As we don't speak French we had a menu with English translation. Breakfast was good with a good selection to suit every taste. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.
We stayed for two nights as a treat after a few weeks of camping in France. The rooms and decor are nice and modern, but our first night was a dreadful experience. There was a problem with the air conditioning that started about 4am, it woke us up making loud noises every few minutes. We turned it off and opened the window as the room was too warm without it. The noise from the open window was dreadful with music and people shouting outside. We didn't manage to get back to sleep, it was the worst nights sleep of the holiday. I tried to explain this to the receptionist in the morning but she didn't want to listen and cut me off explaining. I was given a key to another room with no apology and no assistance. We moved rooms and this new one was fine except the hairdryer and shaver plug didn't work, which was inconvenient. We had dinner one night in the hotel and it was lovely, but they were obviously short staffed so the service was patchy. Do check the bill as ours had breakfast put on it but we didn't have it. All in all, it was okay when things worked but not worth what we spent. The first night of not sleeping and glib response really tainted our stay.
Just a few minutes walk from the centre of the town, this is a smart modern hotel with secure parking, spacious rooms, nice bar and great breakfast. Proper bathrooms with powerful showers as well. We didn't eat at the restaurant this time, but the menu looked good and the prices are reasonable.
we stayed one night in this hotel on our way back home.the whole hotel is spotless clean. rooms are spatious and very well equipped. breakfast is excellent and the restaurant is also ok. we got a very good rate so in our case definitively value for money
Nice welcome, nice room, nice visit experience. Really good value and nothing was too much trouble - all I can say if you need a hotel in Evreux use this one! This is a franchised hotel and the Franchise was every where, he should feel proud of his hotel and proud of himself!
We stayed overnight at both the beginning and end of a holiday elsewhere in France. Plenty of parking, though the hotel was very quiet. The reception staff were efficient and welcoming; the hotel is spotless, with pleasant rooms including particularly comfortable beds. Attractive dining room with responsive service and a very good breakfast. We had a couple of niggles with one room: the sink was partially blocked, and the hairdryer not working. The receptionist immediately offered a change of room, so no real complaint, but I'm surprised the cleaners hadn't picked up at least the issue with the sink in the first place. Would I recommend this hotel? Certainly-and 10/10 for Justine on reception for her energy and enthusiasm: she's a credit to Best Western.
Motoring through France we stopped for two nights at Evreux and found the hotel clean modern and bright. The restaurant was functional with a decent menu and the staff were polite and helpful. The wines were surprisingly good and reasonably priced.
A very clean hotel, close to the town and major routes...ample parking.. Restaurant is exceptional, food is delicious!!!!! Lovely breakfast.. We would highly recommend this hotel. and the staff..Brilliant!!!
This is a good hotel for a stop-over in Evreux on the way to Calais. The Reception is friendly and the rooms are quite large and pleasant, with good decoration, comfortable beds and excellent shower and washing facilities. The 3 course dinner for 25 euros is good value for money and all in all we had nothing to complain about until the following morning We had negotiated a deal with breakfast included, but the receptionist knew nothing about it, although she did finally concede it. Because the bill when printed out was in tiny and unreadable type, we did not discover until we examined it with reading glasses a short while later (luckily before leaving) that we had been charged for wine and soft drinks at dinner which we did not have. When we returned with our queries it took a long time for the receptionist to re-imburse us for the extra 40 euros - as we were not given a bill to sign for our meal and there was no itemised record except for the erroneously entered items on the final account, it was difficult to prove and she had to take our word for it. We would have been happy to put this mistake down to a clerical error had it not taken such a long time to resolve. This was an awkward situation, arguing with the receptionist in the hotel lobby was not the ideal way to end our stay and left an unpleasant taste on an otherwise enjoyable experience
Nice room, clean with modern amentities. Free wifi with good speed. lobby bar. Dining room with excellent breakfast. Good location, in central business district. Good parking on surface lot. Should be one of the first choices in Evreux.
Easy to find (driving a rental car), excellent facilities and staff service. Very good restaurant open until 10 pm. Large store and reasonablby priced fuel across the street. Strongly recommend for anyone planning to visit Monet's house and gardens in Giverny.
Positive: -Comfortable rooms with shower, clean, nicely decorated. - breakfast ok although boiled eggs are cold Negative: -Don't eat in the restaurant!! I ordered steak with French fries, and they were horrible. Dark brown and not crunchy as they should be. They were burned, almost black. Just look at the picture I took. It's a disgrace to serve people these fries. -There is not a single electricity plug in the bathroom. I brought my own hair dryer and could not use it in front of the mirror. There is only a electricity plug at the writing table in the room. Very inconvenient. -Coffee maker in the room but no tea. Could be improved. -Only 3 things in the minibar: 2 waters and a coke. Why not more refreshments? I arrived and was thirsty and wanted a snack. Nothing there: no nuts, chips, … Could be improved.
We weren't sure what to expect in Evreux, it's not a city we've visited before. When we arrived we were glad hat we had chosen this hotel. Our room was large and well appointed, though it was near the lift we were never disturbed. Our welcome at reception was great, very friendly and this friendliness was evident from all he staff. The breakfast was super, lots of choice, dinner in the restaurant was very god. No complaints from us.
A hotel that leaves no wishes open for the casual business traveler - fro ma fresh breakfast bar with ample selections, to a restaurant with surprising high quality of the menu and dishes (the lamb shank I consumed was absolutely fantastic!). Rooms are well designed for work and relax, with the exception of the rather small windows, that do not let in much natural light and might make some people feel a bit 'chamber-like'. The hotel is located across a supermarket and small mall - very nice for those who like to get their stuff at location. We walked into the city for dinner in various restaurants and the walk from the hotel (15-20 minutes) leads along very cozy street with small shops and a variation of architectural highlights of a town typical for the Normandy. Worthwhile to do the walk.
We stayed for just one night, as it seems many Brits do as they travel through France. The secure underground garage is useful,if like us, you have bikes on the back, and a car full of "stuff"! The direct lift takes you to a modernist reception with friendly English speaking staff. Very comfortable room and perfectly quiet night sleep was had. Breakfast at €14 is not expensive for a hotel and offered anything you might reasonably want. The restaurant was busy by 8pm. The food was good and the wine list very acceptable. Overall, very good value for money We will certainly use again
Until the management takes control of the distasteful allowed practice in this hotel for smoking in every room despite the law and the signs at every level and on each room, I shall not rate this hotel any longer. The smell is awful and embedded into the linen, the carpet and the curtains. I use this hotel for convenience and I have changed rooms on numerous occasions without great success. Get a grip please, this is not the 1980's anymore!
My wife and I stayed at this hotel several times during the summer. The staff are always polite and the rooms are always comfortable. We also stayed here last year and we will continue to do so whenever we pass through Evreux on our way south.
We stayed here for one nights stay on a road trip in France and it was lovely! Bedroom was very big, with a mini fridge, water in the fridge and the shower was lush! It is next to a main road but didn't make any difference to our stay. It had private parking. There were english and french menus for the dinner in the evening, room service including breakfast to the room as well. The cocktails were lovely, kir royale was my fav! The food was some of the best that I had out there, it was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and the buffett breaskfast was outstanding. The little pastries were to die for and there was a huge selction. The staff were really friendly and helpful. A great hotel.
Stayed one night on our way from Dieppe to Perigord. Efficient check-in, despite language problems. Nice clean modern room, reasonable size. Good dinner in the hotel restaurant (couldn't be bothered to go looking elsewhere). A bit lacking on atmosphere, but pleasant wating staff and decent food. Really good breakfast in the morning to set you up for a long drive or hard day's work! Bit of a way from the town centre, but easy enough to find the motorway from here. Would return if in the area.
If you are looking for a good hotel, clean, efficient and with good food, this is excellent. I have stayed here on previous occasions and will continue to do so in the future. We put them to the test of arriving at 03.00 and were pleased to discover they were expecting us. It was presumed we were not going to leave the room till mid day - no problem!
Room: I slept in room 321. The Room was quite, as cold or as hot as I liked, spacious and welcoming. The shower was great and the bed very comfortable (king). Wifi was available in the room and at a decent speed rate. This room's window over looks the hotel's entrance. Staff: Top-notch! They were incredibly helpful and friendly. Our check in for 10 people took less than 5 min really. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and offered great local food recommendations. Location: Very close to food locations, but I didn't get the chance to look at sights for its proximity. The traveling Circus was only one block away though... Price: 89 Euro/night was very reasonable price for the room, location, and accommodations.
We stopped here on our way south and were ambushed by the level of service, food and hospitality. Smiles galore. Helpful hints and graciousness were everywhere. I had two expensive bikes on the back of the car and it was helpfullly suggested that I could keep store them on the car in the secure underground car park '(but don't tell the manager I told you!' ;) ) Now that is service. Delicious meal in the restaurant. Recommended.
Always been using this hotel and restaurant whilst on business in Evreux. Best place to stay by a mile in town. Staff is extremely friendly and always go out of their ways to help. You feel very well looked after. The Maitre D is a very nice character full of attention when eating in his restaurant. The food is always excellent and varied and priced at a proper level: a full on three course meal of fresh cooked food of the local specialities either be meat of fish for no more than £17 quid add a bottle of a very nice Bordeaux wine this is just about £50 for a complete menu for two. Can't argue versus the quality. Highly recommend even for short stay. Btw car park outside is free whilst underground is available for a fee, perfect.
Like others, stayed here on the way back to the ferry. From an unpromising exterior, we didn't have much expectation but as soon as we were inside, it was lovely. Staff very friendly, room excellent and restaurant really really good - and that was on a Sunday night. You can park for free outside or pay to use the locked underground car park. Very cheap deal through Expedia so great value all round. Opposite a big Cora supermarket should you want to stock up before heading to the ferry :-) Will definitely go back if we need a stopover again.
Cannot fault this hotel on anything. Staff very professional, The restaurant is excellent with superb food at a very good price. Very competitive on price compared with some lower grade hotels. The menu changes and has a good selection of fish and meat. I cannot understand why the restaurant isn't full at weekends. The people of Evreux are missing out on a brilliant meal!
Stayed one night on way back to Ferry. Hotel superb and very comfortable. Restaurant very good with great choices. Breakfast gave many options from full English to comprehensive continental. Will stay again.
We stayed in the Best Western Palais de Congres twice whilst travelling to and from the South of France. The meet and greet was very friendly as were all the staff who were efficient throughout. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well appointed with good facilities. Most of all the bed was huge and very comfortable. We did eat in the restaurant on both occasions and the staff were helpful and efficient whilst the food was ok. Starters wise the oven baked Camembert was very nice but a big dish probably best shared. The cold beetroot soup with goats cheese was pleasant. Guinea fowl was well cooked although the salad was a mish mash and could have been better. All the mains were ok without being outstanding. Chef seems to have an obsession with potato soufflé/omelette's which are uninspiring at best. Sweets were ok and my wife liked the profiteroles. The wine list was good and fairly priced and we did have a cracking bottle of Sauterne. On both evenings the restaurant was fairly quiet. I came away with the sense that the food was being prepare without much enthusiasm and attention to detail. Sad because it could/should be better. Evreux is a nice town which is worth a walk around. The cathedral is beautiful and there are some nice shops. It wasn't busy even on Friday night but we liked it. In conclusion I would definitely use this hotel again. Although in no way is the food poor I hope the hotel can lift the standard of food to that of the accommodation and the service which are very good.
Great hotel. The rooms are clean, well presented and modern. The restuarant is great, fantastic food and service - good breakfast too. Reception and bar staff are very helpful and chekout is nice and quick. Good price too. Will happily recommend and plan to use it again in the future.
This is our second visit to this particular hotel, which is well situated for traveller going north and south. The private car park is immediately adjacent to the hotel The room we used was 108 which was very near to the lift. Our view out of the bedroom window faced side street and was quiet on a Saturday night The breakfast and evening meals were excellent, both in quality and quantity, representing very good value for money. We booked this hotel in advance and got a very good deal.
We needed somewhere to stay en route to the South of France. Just looking for a clean comfortable bedroom and good quality food. Found exactly what we wanted in this hotel. Helpful attentive staff too, Will definitely use this place again.
Great hotel and staff very welcoming, bedrooms are modern and very clean/new. Great evening meal at good value comps to chef and even breakfast was good which is a struggle in France. Would visit again!
Great value hotel with the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on away from home. My wife for the first time on our 32 day tour through France , Spain and Portugal slept all night without waking. Close to a delightful town with it's charming canal we certainly kept the best until last.
Exceptional staff, lovely rooms, great food !!! Stayed in Evreux on business - this hotel was very central with some lovely restaurants near by, the restaurant in the hotel was fantastic. Would recommend this hotel for any type of stay, business, couples, friends and Solo - not sure if they have family room Thanks,
Check-in was very good. It is within walking distance of a mall (right across the street) and within walking distance of the center of town. We enjoyed the bar/lounge and it's friendly patrons. The staff was very helpful and caring. If we return to Evreux we will stay here again.
