"Don't go there!"

We arrived on Sunday evening at about 6.30pm in the rain. Having been advised on the Bookibg.com website that reception was open 7 days a week until 9.00pm we were surprised to find all the doors locked and no staff in sight. Our telephone call was answered by a message only so there was no way to get in. Luckily my daughter's partner is French so he rang from the U.K. and after four or five calls someone answered. That took nearly an hour. (In the rain). Booking.com also tried to contact them but got no response. In the end we found that they had emailed us at midday on the Sunday with a passcode for the secondary disabled access door but of course as we were driving we knew nothing about the email. The chef was there but in a foul mood presumably because he had been disturbed. He was extremely rude and stamped off in a huff saying the restaurant was shut and breakfast was 7-9 am. Not a good start to our 3 day break. Then we found the bedroom door could not be fully opened because the bed was too long, or rather the door was hung the wrong way, and the bath with shower over was raised about 8” off the floor so my partner struggled to get over the bath edge. So did I and I'm 6'0”. Also the shower screen door could not be fully opened because it hit the bath tap which was mounted on the side of the bath. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on the second night but that was very poor. In the end we didn't complain as we were already so fed up we wouldn't know where to start and so we cut short our stay and moved to a decent hotel for the third night in spite of the fact that we had already paid for 3 nights. Booking.com tried to obtain a refund for us but even they couldn't raise any response from this awful place. If you must stay here avoid bedroom 208 but my advice would be to look for somewhere better than this. Best Western get your act together!

"Not for working trips!"

Stayed on 04.03.22-05.03.22. Was charged for breakfast, but reservation was made with breakfast on Best Western site. But I can't use breakfast as I was informed that on sunday it starts at 0800, but at this time nothing was prepared and personal informed that breakfast starts at 0900. I was disappointed. Left without breakfast. If you are going for worktrip or going to ferry, I don't recommend you this hotel if breakfast is important for you.

"Warning: claims "free cancellation" but won't reimburse"

I made a reservation through Booking.com at this hotel because they are noted on their site as "dog friendly" but was forced to cancel a few hours later because reception called to let me know that they don't take dogs over 10 kilos (mine is 14). I received confirmation from Booking that my reservation had been successfully cancelled at no charge. A day later, the hotel debited 66.60 euros from my credit card. After calls and emails to the hotel requesting a refund, they kept insisting that my cancellation was non-reimbursable and would only offer me a hotel voucher (which even if I was going to travel in the area again, I can't use because they won't take my dog). The bottom line is that they didn't honor their claim of free cancellation. Disappointingly, Booking was not helpful in solving this issue, but only redirected me to the hotel, which continued to refuse reimbursement. Fortunately, my bank was able to recover payment after I filed a charge dispute. I just thought I should warn others, as I'm sure this isn't the first time this has occurred at this hotel.

"Total rubbish"

Arrived at hotel at 2.30 PM nobody at reception doors lock, found back door open, shouted rang number on reception no answer left message did not return call. In the end found cleaner on top floor who didn't speak any English and could not help. Return at 4.30 PM said we arrived earlier but nobody was around was told the cleaner should of helped no apology. Went to check out at 8.20 AM and again nobody about, was g to have breakfast but was all locked up. Also the smell from the oil refinery is terrible so you cannot open your window. The lift is a joke you couldn't even get a wheel chair in. DO NOT STAY At THIS HOTEL.
