Hotels in Bourgogne: what our guests say

Best Western Plus Hotel d'Europe et d'Angleterre
"Such a shame."
T G, 07 Octobre 2026

We stayed and reviewed this hotel a few years ago and vowed to return which we did this September en route to Calais. It is on a main road opposite the river where there is ample free parking and a short walk to the lovely town centre which has been recently upgraded. We were excited to stay here again but unfortunately there was a serious drain odour as soon as the front door opened, it was overwhelming. Had we not booked and paid we would have turned around and gone somewhere else. The smell permeated beyond the ground floor into the rest of the hotel. The receptionist explained there was a problem when it rained and the river opposite caused a drain surge. It is very quaint, the staff are immaculately dressed, perfect English, polite and helpful. I know it wants to maintain its character but it needs brightening up, its dark and tired. Sorry, we would not repeat this experience again.

"A good stopover"
JAHhotels1964, 18 Septembre 2026

Our room looked towards the river, with a large comfortable bed. We parked the car in the on-street parking area rather than the walled public car park further away, the hotel car park is fairly small and needs to be booked in advance. Restaurants and bars in close walking distance.

"Nice location but….."
Carol W, 27 Juillet 2026

Parking is a whopping 20 euros a night. Breakfast 20 euros. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good location but if you have breakfast and park one night's stay is then 170 euros.

"Excellent hotel run in a professional manner at a sensible price"
BMCT14, 20 Juillet 2026

We arrived for our three night stay in the middle of the June heatwave. The staff were excellent and could see that we were rather warm in our motorcycle kit! Fresh minted water available and check in was easy. The entire team were professional and efficient throughout our stay. Our room was spotless and overlooking the river. Air con throughout the hotel was brilliant. Breakfast quality was excellent and varied, constantly restocked. Secure parking available but must be booked in advance. Numerous restaurants within easy 10-15 minutes walk. Would we stay again - absolutley.

Best Western Premier Hotel & Spa Les Sept Fontaines
"Surprisingly good"
john h, 08 Mai 2026

I'm never sure about staying in Best Western affiliated hotels and have had some rather mixed experiences, but this hotel is very good. Lots of free parking and a friendly and helpful reception (in fact all the staff we had contact with were great). Our room was larger than we had expected (although not large) but it was very well decorated and had everything you need for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable and there other good ameneties. Good bathroom with excellent shower and a separate toilet. We opted for the Express Petit Dejeurner in the lounge as we don't like buffets and this was very nice. Another hotel to add to the list for overnight stops in France.

Best Western Dijon Quetigny
"Excellent service and great location for a stop over."
mandy-7, 21 Mars 2026

Excellent service - we had an issue with our dog before leaving and we had to delay and the hotel moved the booking to the following day with no issue. It is a perfect stop off on the way to the alps with plenty of amenities close by so there is a wide choice of food which also is discounted when you stay in the hotel. It is our second stop and we would book again. Parking is on site and secure for a 12 euro charge or you can park in the free part but it was very busy when we stayed on Saturday. Rooms are comfortable and clean.

"Good overnight stay"

We have stayed here before and were happy to find the good high standards are being maintained. We stayed for 1 night on our way to the Alps and enjoyed a good nights sleep and a good breakfast buffet. Friendly staff

"A Hotel where well-being and well-eating are a perfect match!"
Sylvie1201, 04 Janvier 2026

Our 5-night stay between Christmas and New Year was a wonderful experience! The staff, the Comfort Rooms, the Spa (pool, hammam and the 80' massage) and above all the culinary journey and wine tasting orchestrated by the Chef and Sommelier Adrien from our very first dinner to the awesome New Year's Eve dinner, not to forget the excellent buffet breakfast, altogether ensured some memorable moments of sheer delight! A huge THANK YOU to the General Manager and his team! I believe the Chef deserves a 1* Michelin rating! The Hotel Sept Fontaines in Tournus is well worth a detour if you happen to be in Burgundy! Moreover, it is conveniently located and close to Beaune and other « must visit » places in the area. NOT TO BE MISSED ON ANY ACCOUNT!

"Less inhospitable that BW in Tournus but overpriced"
Rytis B, 30 Novembre 2025

The hotel is located comfortably, but charges inadequately for the parking and stay. The breakfast is horrible - no vegetables, the selection is pure minimum, the food not tasty, coffee is bad. Also, there is no decent restaurant in less than 600 m from the hotel. We had no issues with the cleanliness of the room, but the hotel card didn't work when reentering the parking lot. The receptionists are faceless, the service reflects the indifference. The once historic hotel craves for renovation, new kitchen staff, new reception staff. Compared to BW in Tournus, it is not so much inhospitable as there, but the overall quality to price ratio here is even worse, to be honest.

Each visit offers a unique perspective on Burgundian wine tradition.

Burgundian cuisine

Finally, no stay in Burgundy would be complete without savouring local cuisine. The region is famous for traditional dishes such as Burgundy snails, boeuf bourguignon and local cheeses. Every meal celebrates local flavours and terroir products, perfectly paired, of course, with a glass of local wine.
