Honestly the staff was super nice and helpful during all hours of the day. The breakfast was great and easy to find. Location was great and convenient for our trip, we would return again. The parking is also fantastic and easy to find. 10/10..
Do not eat here unless they fumigate the hotel. While eating breakfast on the 2nd day of my stay I saw a roach cross the floor of the dining area. Towels provided were thin and scratchy and not enough provided for the people staying in the room (3). Pillows were small squares and the queen bed felt like the size of a double. I would advise to spend a little more and stay somewhere else.
Room was spacious. Bed comfortable. Good shower but the towels were a bit thin. Breakfast ok and the area was well looked after with items being topped up. People on reception very pleasant. The location is right on the edge of Visalia (I had chosen it for that reason) and easy to get on and off the freeway.
I always stay at Best Western since I've always have great experience with the hotel and staff until my stay at Visalia location. The front desk staff named Kim was very rude and should not work with costumer service. I never had experience such rudeness from a BW staffs until my stay at Visalia location. I requested to get some bedding for the sofa bed and she seemed like she was being bothered and not willing to accommodate my request. Everything I asked her, I get a response back with such rudeness. I will never stay at this Visalia location just because of my experience with her.
They had lice. They had big giant bugs in their bed, and they also had bedbugs that I have pictures of. They are very dirty. Don't stay here you have to find other places this place will give you bedbugs and lice The management sucks and they don't want to give you no refunds
Very comfortable and clean, good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. The only drawback was that I couldn't use the wifi because it refused to offer me the opportunity to put in the password. The staff tried to get me in, but it just wouldn't work. Staff told me this happens often with laptops. Well, sorry, folks, I don't have a tablet! Fix your wifi!
My friend and I had a very nice experience at the best Western the staff was Very friendly and helpful. Amanda, who worked in the breakfast area is the kind of person that gives 200%, she was so kind, sweet, attentive and joy exuded from her. She was also very helpful. She gave my friend and some traveling advice For our trip into Sequoia national Park. I would go back to this hotel just to say hi to her. Also, there's an orange cat who hangs out near the entrance of the hotel. He is also very sweet, I know he is not part of the staff But he did add nicely to the experience when you miss your cats at home.
Everything was cleaned except for the floors. Cheetos and hair were still on the floor. The fridge was broken in the room.
Our room was clean and all staff was super friendly! But…. super noisy, we hardly slept. Ice machine was used half of the night, loud engine noises from nearby freeway and airport. Also, the elevator was misfunctioning which was a bit scary.
We had a nice stay and beds were comfortable. The customer service was great! The breakfast host was very personable and made sure to greet everyone. I was acknowledged as a Platinun member. Swimming pool is outdoors. Laundry facilities were convenient.
Very clean every corner, everything we needed and wanted, very friendly and proficient staff; all 5 of seniors of us in 3 rooms were so satisfied with overall experience of our stay. Surprise we've got 24 hour coffee and hot drinking water (for tea). Will definitely come back and recommend.
This is a fantastic hotel for business. Kim at the front desk was super helpful and also so kind- we had to check in quite late. They make food for happy hour and even gave us spaghetti that they had leftover. It was delicious! Rooms were very clean too!
Ok for one night passing through. But it is on the highway, the swimmingpool is on the highway (not very relaxing), most machines in the gym were broken. There is no place to sit outside, no bar. No charm. Beds are good, staff is nice. But there are definitely nicer places close by/in the town. Would not stay here again.
Only bad thing about this hotel and every other one is the stupid odor of marijuana in them that is never addressed. Should be banned in hotels. If guess smell like it they should be turned away
We stayed here for two nights. Breakfast the first morning was picked over and not much left even though it was an hour before closing. When I went to the front desk and asked if there was any more bread, one of the women sitting there came over and started restocking the bread, yogurt and boiled eggs, etc. The second morning there was another woman on duty and she was on top of things. We went to the pool and the water looked clean but the pool floor was littered with dead bugs. I actually got the net and removed at least 30 dead bugs myself because I really wanted to swim and not step on bugs. Also, the side tables and chairs were dirty and had cup rings on them. The pool area really needed a good cleaning. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The maid on duty changed out the towels for me and removed my trash when I asked her. She was very helpful. The guest washer and dryer are operated with a QR code which you scan and pay for with your phone. I thought this was really cool and much easier than having to get change and feed in quarters. The hotel was easy to get to but far enough from the road that there was no outside noise. However, the air conditioner was very loud and made the wall vibrate.
The whole time I stayed, my room was never cleaned, linen not changed, and trash overflowing. Every single day I had to go to the front desk to reactivate my card to be able to go into the room. All employees were really rude with attitude like if I was bothering them. They only have one ice machine working and taste disgusting like dirty water. My only favorite part of this is the breakfast is good and the lady that works there is an amazing person. She keeps everything stock up, doesn't allow the food to run out and everything clean.
We stay in this hotel as a base to Sequoia National Park. This hotel is beyond our expectation with spacious room, decent free breakfast and clean amenity. In addition, the location is safe and quiet with ample free parking spaces. Staffs are courteous. .
From the desk to the cleaning to the breakfast staff - all were professional and friendly. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned and the mattresses were very comfortable! If we're in the area again, will definitely stay here. Great location, wonderful staff, very clean rooms, and a wonderful night's rest!
Not bad location considering that I didn't book early to attend an annual convention. Hotel staff were all very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. I loved the fresh waffles.
This was a decent place overall, and a good base from which to visit Sequoia and Kings Canyon NPs. Room was well sized with a comfortable bed, although all the doors in the corridor were quite loud and tended to clunk shut with a noticeable noise. The shower was great, with plenty of hot water, and there were some excellent products to use. Breakfast was fine and exactly what you'd expect from a hotel of this status, although nothing special beyond that. We were very happy to see bacon on the menu, but unfortunately it was so undercooked and flabby that we couldn't eat it. The breakfast area was clean and the staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel offers free dinner a couple of nights a week, which was a pleasant surprise. Parking lot was big enough and seemed safe, and the area was quiet. There's a nice green park just down the road.
Terrible customer service. I went out of my way to place my 2nd guest on the reservation because I wouldn't be arriving until almost midnight. They arrived earlier and the front desk staff was put out for even having to do their job at all. Then they denied them checking in, even though they had the Expedia email with both confirmation numbers and their name on it. The hotel called hours later and said they FINALLY reached out to Expedia and were wrong. I show up at midnight and there is no one even at the desk which delayed check in and much needed rest. Just a dump with incompetent staff. Average hotel rooms….if they actually let you check in. Use one of the other hotels close by.
We frequent this area for work a lot and are constantly picking Best Western Visalia for the service and quality. Kim is the Best at the front desk; goes above and beyond to make sure our stay is great. And additionally Dawn, she's great, and provides great housekeeping- keeps the rooms perfect for us. Great choice to stay!
The room was large with very comfortable beds. The shower was good with lovely body wash/shampoos etc. Amanda was amazing and helped two Brits to have an amazing time visiting Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP - she was so friendly and helpful. Amanda also put our minds at rest about a trip to Yosemite - we made it!
Beatrice in the front desk was super nice she was really helpful and made the check out process a breeze and the lady serving breakfast had a positive attitude that brightened our whole morning and it is a shame we only stayed one night would leave 10 stars if I could!!!
Wish I could've stayed longer ! Great Experience! The breakfast lady was so nice ! she greets you with an amazing smile and compliments !! It very clean !! fresh breakfast!! brings out fresh food every ten minutes !! front lady at the front desk was super amazing as well !!
Great hotel. Greeted by friendly staff and check in was quick. I was tired from traveling and was able to check in early and also received a surprise room upgrade. Very nice. Room was spacious and very clean. Housekeeping was very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed my stay.
All the staff at the hotel were very welcoming, from front desk to housekeeping.. We received a free upgrade and the room was very spacious and very clean. Free guest dinner of spaghetti was a nice surprise. Breakfast was good, lots of choices. Will be back.
Front desk did us proud by getting my wife and I into a beautiful suite up on the 3rd floor. Oh my gosh! A living room with a tv and a bedroom with a tv. What the dickens! Wow! And the shower/bath had some fancy shampoo and bodywash! Oooooh, this is luxury. Yes guys. My wife and I love Best Western. What a great hotel!
As an Elite Best Western Rewards Member, I was expecting a more welcoming exchange. But in the beginning the front clerk that attended to me was extremely negative, everything I asked for was a simple NO! The TV was not working, she came and fixed it, but the moment you turn it off and turn it back on the same problem, no signal. I was wondering why she can't change me to another room! Next day I decided to check out, then the person that checked me out started to give me a tough time, looking for the manager and no one could find her, another unprofessional clerk. No one has a radio to call each other, but they kept me there for another while. I left terribly upset. Best Wester has always been my favorite hotel when I travel, and this one Vasilia, CA was the worst experience so far for me, I won't recommend anybody this place.
Quick check in. Received a room upgrade at no extra fee. Kim was efficient and pleasant with checking us in. The room was spacious and Clean. There was enough towels and facecloths and we had everything we needed. The ice machine worked. There was enough spaces to park.
Had a family health issue and needed to reschedule. They refused. Took my $350- and gave no service. No sympathy; no support; no customer service. Worst Western is more like it. Will never stay at a Best Western again.
Amazing staff, very friendly and kind. They go out of their way to keep things clean welcoming. Rooms were clean the breakfast was great and again the staff was so welcoming and friendly other hotels should learn from them
I attended the Soroptimist conversation and thought your wait staff was terrific as well as the women that was the bar tender outside during our happy hours. Your housekeeping staff was very helpful and friendly as well. Our food was Ok but my friend who also attended is a vegetarian and her lunch one day was only a plate of lettuce. Nothing else. Sad!
very clean and quiet room, friendly reception, but two things kept from being a 5, first the TV kept losing sound, after booting it and talking to desk girl the second time, she said it has happened to her, she unplugs the tv, when I did that nothing, but booting cable box did, problem solved, passed it along when I checked out, also knob for shower loose, it will be fixed I was told, nice place, far away form anything, lots of big truck parking
We've been on a 3 week visit to California, Nevada and Arizona…we've stayed in Best Western's everywhere they available. The quality of care and compassion shown by the staff at the Visalia Hotel was the absolute best! We were provided with a comfortable, clean room with smiling staff who were eager to exceed your expectations. Amanda, the breakfast hostess was outstanding, she went so far above and beyond to make our stay amazing! She's also an excellent tour guide and will gran a map and help guide you safely to your desired destination. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting or passing through the area…if you plan to visit Kings Canyon this is the place to stay!
I come to Visalia to visit my rapidly aging mother. It's emotionally draining, so if things go wrong where I'm staying...it just exasperates things. This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, not marred to the point of shabby. Get the whirlpool room if you can! All the employees were super nice and very accommodating. This is now my regular place to stay!
The location was great. Within walking distance of a very nice park, complete with duck pond. Our 3rd floor room faced west so we had a great sunset view. We walked to the neighboring hotel for dinner, as they had two restaurants on site. The room and bathroom were very clean. It is an older building, the doors had a small gap between the door and the door jam, but it did not interfere with closing or locking the door. Breakfast was great, a lot of choices and staff was on hand to assist if needed. All the staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful.
My son and his new wife stayed here on their honeymoon. After returning home, they received a $150 bill for severe smoke damage to the room that already smelled like cigarettes when they arrived, along with the hallway outsie the room. Neither of them have ever smoked and requested a non-smoking room. He has asthma. She works in Healthcare. When my son called to dispute the charge and asked to speak with the manager, the front desk clerk hung up on him. So, I called on their behalf and was very calm and level-headed. When I asked to speak to her manager, the same front desk clerk hung up on me also. I do not recommend this property.
The location is ideal if you're going to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the staff was helpful. Especially Vanessa at the front desk and Amanda, on the kitchen staff at breakfast. Amanda helped us out quite a bit, the best part was you could tell she enjoys her work. She was not only eager to help but she had a great attitude, with a smile.
Checked in to a room and found red stains on the towels (possibly makeup or blood). The following morning staff confirmed that the incident was not noted. All we received was: "I'm sorry. Here's your bill." Breakfast was not very appetizing. Hotel was somewhat clean and morning staff was friendly.
Many amenities I took for granted were not working. Had to go to third floor for ice. I was on the first floor. The vehicle charging station was broken and was told it had been down for over a week. I was not aware of this prior to my arrival and was in a panic as I rely on charging my vehicle at the motel.
The hotel is roach infested. Had to buy our own roach spray to keep them at bay. Manager was never available. Wouldn't supply coffee refills for the Kuerig machine that they swore didn't exist but didn't bother to give us another coffee machine. The elevators reek of marijuana smell and they don't keep elevator permits posted. Their response was here is a $50 discount but we strive for excellent customer service. When you walk outside the sewer smell is overwhelming. Warning…don't stay here!!
very comfortable, very good customer service at front desk. One of the few hotels with laundry we encountered on our two week road trip. Visalia is a beautiful town. We stayed there and from the near by hotel took the Sequoia Shuttle to the park.
Loved the location, easy on and off the freeway. Loved that they have free continental breakfast. Felt very welcomed when I checked in. The rooms were very nice and clean. Overall it was a great comfortable nights sleep.
We made an unexpected trip to Visalia due to my son in laws father passing. When we called to get a room for a night, Kim was the wonderful woman who helped us and saw to it we were comfortable. She is a compassionate and attentive person and made a difficult trip easier. We were able to rest and the children swam. The breakfast was a big hit. Everyone was friendly and smiling. I have stayed there before and always been well taken care of. Thank you Kim❤️ For making us feel like family.
I stay here once or twice a year. It's a clean quiet hotel which is exactly what I need. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are nice. I usually have my dogs with me. There is a pet fee but that is pretty common where pets are allowed. Overall a good place to stay at a decent price.
I am not sure why the service here is only mediocre at best but the rooms are clean, the location is good, and its quiet for being by an airport and freeway. I didn't have issues with the room, cleanliness, or ammenities with one exception. The internet here is not great, its pretty slow and likes to drop connection, I think this has to do with how busy it was and the type of equipment they are using. But if you have a 5G phone with hotspot then either AT&T or Verizon will net you full signal at the hotel (on Verizon I was getting over 600 Mbps). The real issue is service, its not great, okay at best. Breakfast was a mess, the waffle iron was not clean or prepped (I had to do that each morning), the bread was not fresh tasting, no English muffins, and cereal milk was only cool. The hot breakfast choices did not look super appetizing. The service staff though were really the low point. Check in was fast but they really just took my card and ID then handed me two keys and said "enjoy", no explanation of directions, amenities, or breakfast. And after having hiked all day they decided that 6:30pm to 8:30pm was a great time to use a power hammer to chip out old tile in the hallway. So yeah that was not great.
We arrived late I booked a king suite, the room was large but when I went to pull out the sofa bed, there were big stains and the bed was broken stuck in the sofa. We were moved to another room and it too was dirty hand prints on the walls in the bathroom. This hotel is a good location but needs a good cleaning and upgrade for the price they charge!
Traveled from Florida to Visalia for a All for wonderful wedding ! On Memorial Weekend, We ended up getting in a day early ! BW had a room clean and ready, and we didn't have to move rooms ! Great Hotel ! Clean perfect service ! Hot coffee and breakfast (free) This is why we Love BW
Great service! Room was clean and appears recently updated. Electric car charging was the reason we chose this hotel, and it worked great. Only thing missing and keeping this from a 5 star rating were outlets next to the bed. There didn't appear to be any restaurants nearby, but the hotel served a free delicious spaghetti dinner, which was a nice surprise. We'll definitely consider this hotel for our next trip to the area.
This hotel is convenient to the activity locations in Visalia, CA. Room was clean, quiet, and staff was very responsive to my needs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has business or pleasure in the area.
This Best Western Hotel is so outdated. There are very few outlets in the room. We had four people in our room all with phones, Apple watches, other electronics and there were not enough plugs to meet our needs. The room was from the 1980's. It wasn't updated at all. I had to go to the desk to get more tissues, toilet paper, and a wash cloth because housekeeping didn't check that when they cleaned the room from the last guest. The lobby looks updated from the early 2000's but the rest of the hotel is clearly from another era. Not a good one. I would never come back to this hotel again. Ever. It was that bad. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else is Visalia than here. There seemed to be a nice Wyndham hotel just next store that had me wishing we booked there.
Easy on and off from the freeway. I knew to stay there as I have done so a few times. The facility is slightly off the highway so it is quiet. As always, clean room with everything in working order. The staff was pleasant, as is always the case.
The room smelled. Everything was disgusting including the food. I was afraid to touch anything. My daughters feet were black just from walking around in our room. You could feel the dirt on your feet. One of my pillows smelled like a dirty body. I could go on and on. My advice find a different hotel!
Front desk went out of their way to make me feel welcomed. Rooms were big and clean. Breakfast options were better than expected. Dinners also unexpected and will come back for. Checkout easy. Good experience.
I can guarantee you will be able to have a good nights rest and feel safe at this establishment. The Visalia Best Western is very clean and inviting, they offer a very good continental breakfast and the staffing are very pleasant.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Margo was wonderful. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast had a large selection of items to choose from and was well stocked. The evening meals were a welcome surprise and greatly appreciated
We had a lovely experience here, the lady that booked us in gave us a suite as she was amazed we had come from Spain. The room was lovely with a small balcony. My only complaint is that eventhough its double glazed you hear the traffic through the night. Breakfast was ok
Our supposed handicap ADA room did not meet ADA standards. There was no shower chair and no shower extension. The beds were not ADA compliant and were as hard as rock. The AC unit worked for fifteen minutes then stopped. There is not enough room to use a wheelchair effectively. The ironing board was broken. There are no USB charging stations in this room. Road crew kept slamming doors for over an hour from two to three pm. Overall awful experience!
We stayed here three nights over Labor Day. It's very convenient to the freeway (and regional airport) and a straight shot into downtown Visalia. The staff were quite helpful. The breakfast area is smallish but adequate. There is pool which we didn't use. Pet friendly.
Where to begin? Dirty, bugs, unkept. I spent a week hiking in SEKI. After my trip I wanted to reward myself with a hot tub soak. Fortunately for me, the Best Western in Viselia has a whirlpool suite. The room was very large and well appointed, the price for the room (almost triple a typical Viselia room) would have been worth it if it was clean and maintained, but was in need of attention. It was clear that someone threw red sticky juice EVERYWHERE. The paint was stained and most light colored surfaces were wiped down, but any dark surface was still covered in red sticky goo. It was even on the ceiling. There was an infestation of bugs (not sure what they were) but they were even in the ice machine. They were fast, and I did grab a few pictures. The whirpool was functional and I did get my soak, but the hotel's maintenance person needs to learn how to calk and mount hardware. The bed looked ok at first, but i noticed greasy headprints on the headboard that should have been wiped down, and the next morning as I was checking to make sure I didn't leave anything I noticed a few yellow crusty spots on the sheet (the side I didn't sleep on) As far as the rest of the facility, the lobby was clean, staff was nice, breakfast area was clean and stocked sufficiently (for COVID times). Some other things need attention. In my hall as you exited the elevator, the maintenance or maid room in the hall had missing handles and locks, just a black hole, even poorly painted M in place of a room number. I did mention this to staff upon checkout, but was too tired to fight or be moved when I started to notice these things.
Checking in was simple. The staff was really nice. Breakfast tasted similar to pre-covid. We loved our bed but felt the rooms need to be remodeled. Even if housekeeping cleans the room, the furniture is old and the carpet really needs to be changed out.
I've stayed quite a few times they have great semi truck parking for guest only and the rooms are very clean. The staff is always friendly and will remember you after a few stays. They have a few different breakfast options and have food at night. It's in a good area right off the main road.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Went out of their way to meet our needs. When asked for directions, they happily printed directions for us. Were always professional and polite. They even provided small dinners at night for those of us
Friendly staff but cold breakfast and a television that didn't work - fixed by hotel staff member but then unable to operate once it was turned off and then back on again. Good location next to airport and freeways.
Stayed for 4 nights and ended up in 2 different rooms. The suite balcony room overlooking the parking lot was very private and surprisingly quiet (apart from the highway traffic - but not much you can do about that). The suite was large and comfortable. The A/C wasn't loud and annoying. Only issue was the ice-machine. There's only 1 on the ground floor. Not a huge deal, but if there were ones on each level it would be a plus. The staff was extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was typical continental. The staff did a great job at keeping everything available. Overall a great experience and I would recommend it anyone visiting the area and/or the Sequoia Natl Forest. It's about an hour and half to the Sequoia and Kings Canyons entrances, but the ride is spectacular.
The staff was very friendly and efficient. I traveled with my dog and they were very friendly with him. The room was very clean as well as the hotel in general. There were no loud rowdy guests and I slept very well. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The overall experience was great. I would stay at this hotel again.
Average room. Comfortable bed. Large TV. Great hot fresh breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes. Juice, banana yougurt. Little slow Internet Very friendly staff. I didn't like that the bathroom door doesn't stay open. When I go to the bathroom at night turning the light on makes it too bright.
We will NOT stay here again. BW Visalia overcharged us and refused to change the charges. We reserved a room, but had to change the date due to Corona Virus pandemic. By telephone, we changed the date, and the telephone reservation representative at BW confirmed that the Military/Government rate remained the same. We also verified the "Pet Fee." However, when we arrived, the Visalia Hotel desk clerk handed me a slip with a higher rate, which I questioned, showing her the confirmation on my computer at the lower rate. Neither she nor her supervisor, nor the Hotel Manager would budge, so I paid both the higher rate and the higher pet fee! After arriving home, I emailed both the Visalia Hotel Manager and BW national with screen shots of the confirmation and of the Visalia web site showing the lower Military/Government rate for the date we stayed. All my emails to the owner and to BW national headquarters remain unanswered! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel! We will never stay here again--nor at any other facility owned or operated by the same people.
Stayed here because of evacuation from fire. Quite expensive by Visalia standards. Rooms are ok but have stained carpet. Pretty rough clientele with lots of people sitting around the parking lot smoking. Exterior doors have key cards, but the doors were propped open with trash. Very limited parking. Last summer I stayed in a variety of Best Westerns in the Nevada, Idaho and Montana. They were all Best Western Plus and were much, much better than the Visalia hotel.
Moved rooms several times cause of issues in each one of them.....charged for having guest over, about$100 on top of my bill cleanliness was horrible like the rooms never got moped or vacuumed not satisfied
overpriced for what you get ceiling lights had live bugs in them, dusty remote and phone, room look outdated the television were outdated, staff was unprofessional did not have good customer service, we had to come down twice to have our keys activated because the front deak activated the wrong room and on another the front desk deactivated our keys, the hotel is in the outskirts of visalia not nearby anything would recommend staying somewhere else where the hotel appreciates your business it felt like we were asking the staff there for a favor rather than they were serving us
All the staff were very friendly and helpful from front desk, breakfast and housekeeping! The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was good. Great location right next to a park with a pond and easy access to freeway. Also pet friendly.
Great Staff, excellent service and very friendly and helpful!! THANK YOU LONI for making dinner for my husband while he is working out there! We will definitely recommend this hotel. Also, all the staff were great to and pleasant.
Went very well and will be back again. With the group rate that we are getting, it is really a bargain for me to stay here and besides all the arminities that you are providing is like dressing on the cake.
Clean and spacious room, friendly staff, good selection of breakfast food, only thing is if you are going to use the pull out couch make sure to ask for blankets and pillows they are not in the room already for it.
The most important thing in regards my stay at this hotel is it was clean. As far as other issues: The first three days I was there the elevator didn't work and neither did my room key. There were several times I responded to the front desk and was never greeted by anyone. One time I had to wait approximately five minutes before I saw anyone or anyone would even acknowledge me. Not acceptable. The breakfast they provided was "ok", nothing to brag about. Scrambled eggs were runny, bacon over done, and sausage could have been cooked a little longer. The potatoes were tasty and so was the gravy. If you were there more than two days it was the same food minus either the bacon or sausage. Not much of a variety from day to day.
My husband and I were getting away for the Thanksgiving holiday, and have stayed in the Visalia Hotel before. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean, and breakfast is ready at 6:00am.
One night stay while attending an event. Hotel was clean and relatively quiet. Everything worked well. Full breakfast was yummy and hot. Check out was speedy and courteous. I think this place will be on our list for a return visit in the future.
Best continental breakfast with many hot food items and so many choices. Good clean room for breakfast area. Very clean, nice room, comfy beds and honored our desire to be in close walking distance from the parking lot.
Was charged a full rate an was provided with no discount even after asking for CDL drivers and AAA discounts which I have both. I had used my credit card to hold the rooms but explained I would pay cash at check out to avoid charges on my card an asked to have a note on my file explaining so. Hotel staff charged my card before I had ever asked to check out , 3 hours before my actual check out time. When I came to check out an to pay cash for the rooms the hotel staff an manager Ms. Loni told me that the charges may or may not go back on my card in about two weeks even though I did pay cash. The hotel manager was very rude an unpleasant. The rooms had a fowl odor an the towels felt disgusting making a shower after a long day of driving and working questionable.
Everything was fine in our big, quiet room, except that water pressure was somewhat low in the shower. Cleanliness everywhere was great. The breakfast area was small but the food was fresh and tasty, while the service was great.
This was a nice, clean Best Western at the edge of town. The pet fee was a little high, but they were a little less restrictive than some others. Pet rooms are on the second floor, but there is an elevator.
Breakfast was a plus. The rooms were decent and the service was nice but the hotel needed better ventilation at the time of our stay. I'm not sure if it was due to maintenance at the time. But we had to purchase a fan.
The staff is always amazing. The rates and military discounts are a plus. Whenever we go to visalia we always stay here. The rooms are very nice, clean and cool for you when you come in, because it seems to always be hot when we visit Visalia..lol
The price is what attracted me, however the service was a 4 star experience. I would choose this particular Best Western every chance I have to go to area, which is about once a month. I slept well. I had an awesome breakfast. It was perfect!
I recommend this hotel 100% Breakfast is awesome and lots of options. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and showers clean and great water flow. Microwave and fridge were clean and worked well too Pet Friendly sets them above the rest
We were here on route to Sequoia and this is a really good option as it puts you around an hour and a half from the park. Nice newly updated and very nice calming color scheme. Breakfast was fantastic and especially the woman who tends the breakfast was AWESOME! While we were enjoying our breakfast we saw someone who was confused by the waffle maker and she jumped in and ended up making waffles for both of them. EXCELLENT service! And it wasn't like a, here let ME do it kinda thing. It was "Do you want me to make you one? Do you want one?" She was sugar sweet about it. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Visalia
We stayed at the hotel with our baseball team. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable. The staff was incredible. They took care of anything we needed, including getting our uniforms cleaned. I would recommend staying here anytime you are in the area.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best western. Prices per night were reasonable price. Not too expensive. It was very clean, good breakfast and the staff was very polite. And i was able to get some sleep. Wasn't noisy at all.
We stayed at the Best Western Visalia on our way to Oregon last week. We arrived very late that night and we were all exhausted. Happily, we found the staff very friendly and organized. They got us into our rooms quickly, and the rooms were very clean, thank goodness! The next morning we enjoyed the included breakfast, and went on our way rested and ready for the long drive ahead.
This hotel is 45 minutes away from Sequoia National Park. Very easy drive to get to the park. The room was big and comfortable. The breakfast area is a little small, but we found seating both mornings.
Based here for Sequoia/Kings- hard to get lodging closer- cute town and lots of dining options in the San Joaquin Valley- you will be driving no matter what. Hotel was clean, breakfast was good and we could take fruit or hardboiled eggs for snacks. If you can't get lodging closer to Kings then this worked well.
This hotel is fresh and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The manager Lani was very personable and accommodating. My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again.
If this property was a rehab I didnt see it . The staff was great very friendly well informed . I have worked in the Hotel industry and I know great when I see it . the room was above avg. the control were at the right level .
We stayed in the hotel on our trip from Yosemite National Park to Sequoia National Park. In the hotel, everything was just perfect. Fast check-in and check-out, the very big room and very good breakfast.
Beware that hallways are not air conditioned and are ridiculously hot, bring your own body hair essentials as we had 3 conditioners in our room. Bath towels are barely child size and thin. Hair dryer broken. Internet horribly slow. Had to clean our breakfast table prior to setting down.
We stayed here just after Easter as part of a week long road trip, where we stayed at three different Best Westerns. This hotel easy to find right off the freeway, clean and well maintained. Beds were very good, rooms were clean. We had booked a family suite which became unavailable due to construction in the hotel so we were given a king suite and a king bedroom instead for the same cost, so great customer service for the girls working the desk, I really appreciated their friendliness as well as their professionalism. Hotel interior was about 80-85 degrees depending on whether you were in the lobby/upper floors. I'm not sure why it was so warm, as it was 60-75 outside. It was near unbearable. Rooms had air con so we could adjust the temp at least in there. I asked at the front desk and they said it's just always hot in the hallways and lobby. As it's under construction, I highly recommend they fix this. There's no point in showering in the am, if you're going to leave breakfast hot and sweaty. Breakfast was sparse. I went up and down from our room to the car three times in an hour and the food was never entirely replenished. Bacon was low quality and my daughter said the eggs didn't taste right. That said they had plenty of other options, it was true to brand- meat, potatoes, waffles, eggs plus breads for toast, cereals, juices. We've had better best western breakfasts. There were people moving in and out cleaning things, but I never saw the bacon replenished even though it was near empty when we got there. They did have a large tour group move through an hour before we arrived, but having known that in advance, I thought a better effort could have been made to replenish the food. The coffee was very good though. This hotel is about a 1.5 hours from the Sequoia's southern most entrance. Having driven North from the Southbay and continuing north, and driving through the park, I realize now we should have just stayed in Fresno after driving through the park, rather than doubling back before continuing on to Yosemite.
I had to call my daughter from out of town to help me with the 3 flights of stairs I'm a cripple the elevator went out on the second day of my stay. The place was way too hot spa was out. I could have used it because I was so sore climbing up and down the stairs. I have had back surgery and knee surgery. They would'bt credit any amount on my stay because it's a Franchise!
We checked in to this hotel without a reservation. Got a good discount because it was late. Wayne at the front desk was trying to resolve something with a merchant service and had been on the phone for over an hour when we walked up. He apologized for having to be on the phone but got us checked in. He was very professional. The room was very comfortable and squeaky clean
Woke up in the bed after sleeping like a baby. Homely warm breakfast and fun staff that enjoy their workplace. Had fun with my friends and an excellent stay over all. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Right next to the freeway so it's easy to get anywhere.
The Best Western was a better value than other hotels close by. Typical Best Western amenities and pet friendly. Convenient location close to convention center and downtown. We were visiting for an event at the convention center and it was only a few minute drive.
Overall, it is an OK experience. Here are the positives and negatives: Positives: - Spacious room Negatives: - Noise level in the morning (starting 7-8am) is unbelievably bad, could be my experience only - When I first got in the room and about to go to be, I saw pubic hair and some long hair on the pillows. Although looks clean overall, it is not encouraging at all to see that
This hotel is in dire need of real maintenance and upgrades in their rooms. From towel bars falling off the wall, to toilets running after the flush and overall they need to make sure everything in the rooms are in good working order and not falling apart. The chain in the toilet tank actually broke and had to call down to get it fixed. When we wanted to print our boarding passes the printer next to their computer was extremely low on ink with no new cartridge available from the desk to replace the depleted one so we couldn't print our passes. As far as the ?Business Center? where you should be able to use their computer with a little privacy as a hotel guest, it is located across from the check in counter with basically no privacy. The bed pillows are small and uncomfortable and should all be replaced in my opinion. The clock radios are not set with correct time and don't have a clear way to do so and even one of the employees I asked didn't know how to set them. Lastly we requested a wake up call at 6 am and didn't get it until about 12 minutes after 6! We probably won't be back.
Clean hotel next to a park. was in town for work for two months and the only issue I had was parking was a bit of a problem because the hotel was very busy. Occasionally one or two guests would be noisy but most of the time the place was quiet.
The suite was nice and spacious, overall very relaxing, suitable for hosting Hospitality during conference stay. Breakfast was Healthy and enjoyable, fresh and Hot. The staff was friendly, and very helpful, she even signed me up for to be an rewards member and explained how the rewards program works to benefit me and my family stays at this hotel everywhere!
We stopped here on our way to Southern California. The front desk clerk..Jameson was the best thing about this place. He was patient, friendly and very accommodating. The room (118) was roomy but in need of an update...carpets stained. The room was next to ice maker and the breakfast room which I thought would be very noisy. We didn't hear a thing! Very restful sleep. We were informed that a tour group was checking in later in the evening and they liked to drink in the breakfast room...that did not happen which was good. The only draw back to this group was that they ate most of the offerings at breakfast by the time we got to breakfast at 8 a.m. I would have thought the hotel would have planned ahead for this large group coming in. There are no restaurants close by to this hotel... don't think we will stay again. Again, Jameson was great!!
Stayed here for one night and we (traveling with my wife) were delighted with the stay. Friendly staff and nice complimentary breakfast. The room was very comfortable and clean. All at a very reasonable price. I would certainly chose this place again.
Checking in & out was a breeze. Hotel seemed quiet which is always nice. Elevator floor was dirty. Room was bigger than expected and didn't know it had a fire place but was disappointed that it didn't work. It would be more romantic if the fireplace was in the same room as hot tub. Hot tub seemed fairly new and was very much enjoyed. Only complaint is that attention to cleanliness needs to be a bit finer. Chocolate splatter on ceiling above bed, nail polish (I'm hoping) splattered on bathroom baseboard, entire suit needed a dusting. Balcony was really nice as well but could had used a sweeping. Staff was friendly. Has a pool outside but didn't get a chance to use. Overall satisfied as this trip was a gift to relax and that I did.
This Best Western is a great choice when needing a hotel in Visalia. The staff is accommodating, the rooms are very clean and nicely furnished, and decent breakfast options are offered. It has the same, if not better, value as some of the higher priced options in Visalia that we have tried. We come into Visalia to visit family, and always stay here.
We needed a couple of nights near Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks as our trip to Yosemite fell through due to the fires - this place was the only one we could find last minute. So with no expectations, we visited. We had two rooms for 2 families of four. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The pool was enjoyed by the kids after long days of sightseeing and it was open till 9pm which was great. They have a laundry which I was able to use and the staff gave me their own detergent because I did not have any of my own. They were helpful with any requests or queries we had. Both families had a good stay here.
My new go to hotel is the Best Western chain. Their hotels do not disappoint. This hotel is in Visalia - off of exit 102. Main Street is by exit 107 a so you'll have to drive or Uber - but it's worth it. We stayed during our visit is to Sequoia and King's Canyon. The staff was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was on point - even my son who is highly allergic to nuts, enjoyed a safe a nutritious breakfast. 3 adults and one 11 ur old stayed in a king bedroom suite - living room, sofa bed and rollaway. It was perfect. The drive into the parks was about 45 minutes - Sequoia had construction and that slowed us down a bit. Glad we stayed in Visalia though - the cities closer to the parks are tiny - a lot more options in Visalia - in terms of restaurants, food delivery, etc. Additional hotel perk included an onsite washer / dryer. We stayed for 3 nights - did all laundry before checking out. It was perfect!
Great place to stay to tour Sequoias and other Parks. Found staff to be friendly and helpful. Hotel was convenient to Sequoia and King's Canyon. Rooms were clean and pleasant. Hotel seemed newer. Would stay there again.
We needed to a place to stay so we can drive easily to both Sequoia & King's Canyon NP. The hotel itself is located a little off from most things. It is about a 10 min drive to get to supermarkets, Walmart, or to the downtown. (There is nothing by the hotel besides an Arco gas station). It's an hour drive to both Foothill visitor center, or north directly to Kings Canyon Visitor center. So the hotel was good staging area. The hotel was clean, and from the pictures looks great. However, we had severely outdated rooms, and a shower head that had minimal water pressure. Although we did have a refrigerator in the room which was nice. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel, so I cannot offer info. on those amenities. They did have an adequate fitness center, as if hiking 5-7 hours wasn't enough. It did its job.
We had a reservation for 2 night: 1 we were about to pay and the 2d was a reward night. Reception completely messed up with this free night. One lady at checking didn't fill in the papers in a right way and the other lady at checkout couldn't fix it for 40 min. We woke up early to go to the national park and instead of this we were just waiting, and our kids were so tired of this waiting so they got crazy. We got into all traffic jams at the entrance to the park and in general it was a disappointing experience. Finally lady charged us for 2 nights and refunded one. In general the cleanness of the hotel is fine, but the carpet in the room was extremely dirty. My little one walked bare feet and they got almost black. They I walked in white socks and they turned greyish-black in a few minutes. There were not enough tables for breakfast, people were waiting in line to get a table. The air conditioner in the room was noisy. You can also hear very well your neighbours from upstairs walking. Pillows are too thick, not comfortable to sleep, I ended up using a towel instead of a pillow.
We needed to a place to stay so we can drive easily to both Sequoia & King's Canyon NP. The hotel itself is located at the edge of Visalia. It is about a 10 min drive to get to supermarkets, Walmart, or to the downtown. (There is nothing by the hotel besides an Arco.) It's an hour drive to both Foothill visitor center, or north directly to Kings Canyon Visitor center. So the hotel was good staging area. The hotel was clean, but you can tell it was not done being renovated. We were on the 5th floor with severely outdated rooms, and a shower head that had minimal water pressure. We didn't eat or drink here so I cannot offer info. They did have an adequate fitness center, as if hiking 5-7 hours wasn't enough. It did its job.
This hotel is an ideal base for visiting the redwood national parks - the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. You could also visit Yosemite at a stretch. It is a cheaper option than using the hotels nearer the parks.
Stayed one night. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. It had a off-putting smell. I did not feel that our room was as clean as it should be. Do not get ice without looking inside the chute- GROSS. I would never stay at this property again and would not recommend it.
The room was very clean as if appeared to have been recently remodeled. The bed was comfortable as I experienced no back pain which is unusual for me. The breakfast was plentiful with a large selection of protein and carbs. Area was very clean. The internet was a good connection and I rarely lost service in 7 days. Much better than my previous hotel in Visalia. The staff was very friendly and caring. They helped me with a scheduling conflict I had which relieved stress for me. My only somewhat unpleasant experience was the noise that came through the door of the connecting room. I wished I had some weather stripping to seal edges and minimize the noise. At one point, the
We stayed only a night and found the check in staff friendly and helpful. Our room happened to be on the first floor and near the lobby bathrooms. Thankfully, with the AC running all night we heard nothing. We also didn't hear the highway or train or airplanes that were all within sight. The room was spacious and although I didn't like the floor plan it was good for our needs. Our son slept on the sofa bed and it was almost awful. It was old and the springs would poke him in the back. The beds were new and comfortable enough. The towels were tiny and they only gave us 2 so we asked for more. The pool was nice and the hot tub was SO HOT! We would stay here again for a night but not more than a night.
Good value and service and easy access from freeway and town Limited parking is challengine but there is overflow area. Close to golf and airport. Convention center is about 5 miles from the hotel on Hwy 198
We stayed at this hotel for our 2-day visit to Kings Canyon & Sequoia. A great location for traveling to and from the parks. The room, particularly the carpeting in the room, appeared a little aged, and the a/c a bit noisy at night, but was overall comfortable and acceptable. Our room wasn't cleaned the day after our arrival. Not sure why it wasn't done, but it was late evening when we returned to our room, and considering that we were checking out the next morning, it wasn't a big deal. Desk clerk and breakfast room staff were very friendly and helpful. We would probably stay here again.
Bed was exceptional. Staff was attentive, professional, and caring. Night staff even delivered ice to my second floor room when I called abt location of ice machine. Turns out, second floor doesn't have an ice machine. This BW has front door access only—which is a great safety feature. Safety wasn't an issue here, however, as the location was excellent. Truly enjoyed my stay at this Best Western.
I booked this on a whim when a road trip of mine changed directions. It is next to a highway and an airport. Which is very convenient, but not a relaxing environment. I was on a leisure trip. This seems like a great property for business people. The property was clean with a great staff. The breakfast was above average. Does have an outer dirt parking lot for big rigs and if towing. Has outside noise, but didnt hear it in the room. There is a very nice park 1/4 mile away, you pass it driving in. I suggest get take out and eat there, if desired (on your drive in). I struggled finding a restaurant within 3 miles. I was happy with my stay.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating , room was very clean nice to see that some hotels still actually care about cleanliness will deff recommend for future stays. Breakfast selection was also great
I stayed there with a friend while in town visiting family. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others looking for a place to stay. The front desk staff were friendly, the breakfast was good with a variety of choices, the rooms were very clean and the housekeepers on top of it when asked for towels or anything.
I love this place staff was very helpful and friendly . Rooms were very clean and stocked . Breakfast was the best there were many different choices . This place is well worth the price . Pool and jacuzzi was great as well
BW Visalia is an excellent facility. Interior of property has been totally renovated. Outside in really good shape Nice gardens. Hotel staff are friendly and caring. Breakfast was excellent Lots of choices. This property is excellent value for the dollar.
Interior and exterior are beautiful! Staff was so friendly. Rooms were cozy and honestly one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. Definitely the nicest Best Western I've seen. Wil definitely recommend to friends who visit the area.
My husband had a ball tournament in Visalia and we wanted someplace close to the ball field to stay. This was it! We could have walked from the hotel to the field. Room was clean, well appointed with modern furnishings and fixtures. We had both a refrigerator and a microwave. Bed was comfortable, with a desk and chair with ottoman. Relatively quiet, weekend, two nite stay. Where they lost me was with the complimentary breakfast. First day coffee was weak and cool, otherwise adequate selection. The next day the selection of food was widely narrowed, no yogurt or breakfast mea. Coffee was warm and more flavorful the second day. Staff was welcoming, personable and helpful.
We stay at many hotels. They don't have to be fancy but they need to be clean. Although the staff was great we walked into the room. The bathroom smelled really bad not sure what the small was and they use fabric shower curtain. The shower curtains must be laundered. It was moldy and smelled bad. Grossed me out. Also the guest towels had a long strand of hair that just made me gross out. I know this happens but these are small details that make a difference.
After a long drive we found this great newly remodeled hotel. We were immediately greeted and made to feel welcomed. Walking into our room it was clean and new. The staff helped us with finding a place to eat after a long day on the road,. I would stay here again.
This hotel is about three hours from the coast and two from the mountains. It is a great place to recharge, relax and repack. Downtown Visalia with several restaurants is just a 5 minute drive due east. I came home from my last road trip without feeling worn out thanks to this hotel.
we have stayed here before under another chain name, it is clean and friendly, breakfast was ready ay 0600, all the amenities worked fine. this was just a layover stop, not an extended stay. the beds are new and hard.
Cindy @ the front desk was so very friendly and helpful when we checked in, She even helped with finding a restuarant for us! The Room was very clean and an awesome comfortable bed. We woke up and had their free breakfast and they so many choices from eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt and muffins. I would highly recommend staying @ Best Western. We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back soon. Thanks, Lynn Davis
If the amenities (pool, hot tub sauna) would have been open I think it would have been a fantastic stay. Overall the hotel is good value for the money. Breakfast was delicious with options, grounds were clean, room was spacious and I really enjoyed the pond down the street, we fed the ducks and walked around
I am giving this stay a double negative 00. My main complaint is the fact the bathroom had not been cleaned there was hair in the tub, and on the floor. So gross, I called the front desk, spoke with staff they said they would send someone down. They did not, I had to go down and get help. They came and look proceed to wipe out the hair in the tub. They should of cleaned the bathtub, not just wiped the hair out. So overall they failed. I will never recommend this one hotel nor stay here ever again.
Down home friendly hotel It's going through an up grade but I didn't even notice place looks great and the breakfast was good . Great place to stay . I will be staying there in the future with my famliy so we can drive to the forest . Oh and there was a beautiful park with nice tennis courts right across the street . And this place was close to the airport .
Customers Beware, This place now under new ownership/management. I pd 120.00 + tax , July 6, 2017, for jacuzzi suite. I am so disappointed and disgusted with the conditions . No toilet paper, no kleenex in dispenser, bedroom a/c did not cool during a very high temp summer night, therefore, could not sleep and then to top it off, the nocturnal cockroaches all over bathroom, shower, vanity, closet and kitchenette bar sent me packing in total disgust at 4 a.m. after a complaint was brought to the staffs attention. No resolution has been offered to date. I gave this place a 5 star rating and review when it was Comfort Inn. I had a great, peaceful stay. Now, a 1 star review is too high. What a shame!
Good location, located right off the interstate. Overpriced. Dirty sheets. Stains on wash cloths and carpet. Live bugs crawling near bed. Hair in the in-room coffee maker. We would not stay here again.
