Nice big clean rooms, parking lot was big with plenty of open spaces. Unfortunately, they don't have an elevator, and the steps had an open back which was a bit challenging to manuver with luggage and kids. I would have requested a ground floor room if I would have realized this ahead of time. They had a nice big breakfast bar. Surrounding town is small with many orchards, but not many store/ gas options on the side of town with this hotel.
Every staff member we interacted with went above and beyond. Examples - 1st one said on the phone for us to feel free to swing by before checkin time so we could leave a bag with food in the lobby so we wouldn't have to worry about bear issues while at Sequioa National Park. 2nd one said, oh hey, you're here and your rooms already ready, feel free to check in now. Such great people. I hate using big web services to arrange my stays - so dehumanizing and cuts into hotels' ability to keep afloat. I loved being able to book directly with this hotel through their own booking service. Highly recommend!
Very clean, friendly staff, enjoyable stay at this hotel. We were traveling with friends and everyone had the same experience. We would highly recommend this hotel if anyone is traveling in the area.
Basic motel. Conveniently located, quiet location, free parking, nice staff. Bed was uncomfortable (Can't wait to get back to my bed), iron leaked brown sludge on my wife's outfit, noise from upstairs was loud. Breakfast was ok. They had powdered eggs, breakfast links, assorted cereal, ok coffee and some pastries. Room was renovated but who picked all the brown?
Was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the cleanest hotels we have stayed at. Room was spacious. Breakfast choices were a little more limited than other Best Westerns and ended at 9:30 rather than 10:00 but was adequate.
Enjoyed our stay. Pool was clean and so was the gym. A smaller BW, but overall was great. Would come back to this location if needed to.
We stayed in a wheelchair-accessible room with a bathtub. Positives: There was ample space in the bathroom to maneuver in my wheelchair. The bed was comfortable. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig machine. It was quiet, for the most part. Staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Adequate parking A few complaints: The pillows offer no support whatsoever. My neck was really sore. There's no fan in the bathroom. The Keurig machine was on the bathroom counter. The breakfast wasn't very good.
We came back to the room looking to use the bathroom and found the door wide open, letting all the flies in, and 2 men in our bathroom changing out the shower handle, worked fine that morning, routine maintenance for hard water buildup. The breakfast never changes, scrambled eggs out of the box, sausage and waffles. The room was well cleaned.
Great value for the price. Motel has been remodeled and rooms were very clean. Beds were ok. Not the most comfortable but not terrible either. Lots of pillows! Breakfast includes hot options as well as grab and go. Super reasonable for a family trip.
Upon arrival we checked in at the front desk with Ben. He didn't seem to happy to be there. When one of my daughters asked what time breakfast was, he pointed to a sign that stated when breakfast was. Our room was smaller, with two queen beds, and smelled like someone had thrown up recently. We called the front desk to see if we could change rooms due to the smell, and was told by Ben that the rest of the rooms were sold out. Ben offered my husband a room freshener. Great. When my husband went to get the room freshener, he came back with a spray can of Lysol that Ben gave him. We sprayed the heck out of the area that smelled like barf which masked it a little, but now we had the chemical smell. The next morning after a terrible nights sleep, we went down for breakfast before setting off to go hiking. We were greeted by (I believe his name was Danny) who was very likable and friendly. The breakfast was good with some variety. When we came back from hiking, and went inside our room, you could tell they had probably used a carpet cleaner to take away the smell, as the carpet was damp in one area. There was still a faint smell of barf, but not as bad. They tried. We slept there one more night, and were happy to get back on the road. The plus side was that it was a good location for hiking in Sequoia National Park.
Our drive from LA to Exeter was not very interesting, with much of the land being flat, dry and nothing to see. Arriving at the hotel, it was very quiet and we felt like we'd arrived at a deserted accommodation in the middle of nowhere, with nothing much around. However, it is very conveniently located, only 5 minutes from the quaint, neat and cute town of Exeter - plus an easy drive not far from Sequoia National Park which was great. The check-in was quick and easy - they even moved us to a room on the ground floor as we had a number of suitcases and without an elevator, it would have been difficult for us to carry everything upstairs. The rooms were clean with lots of space for all our luggage etc - although a little dark which meant we needed lights on. However, I imagine this is helpful to keep the heat out. Plus an added bonus of a table with chairs for dining at. It was super hot, so the use of the pool that afternoon was a wonderful welcome. The only issue here is that the pool faces onto the main road, which means traffic passing by can overlook the pool area and people in their swim wear. It would be good if they either wall it up with privacy fences or grow some decent, tall hedges to block out the view and noise of the cars. Aircon in the rooms worked perfectly - except for the fact that it is low on the ground, so tended to blow directly onto us when sleeping despite facing the grill upwards. Internet worked well and the use of a laundry room was helpful. Breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of options to satisfy - from fruit & yoghurt, to waffles & muffins to eggs and sausage. Overall very satisfied with our stay and would be back again.
This Best Western in Exeter California was super clean and very updated. The room itself had a nice desk with chair and a table with two chairs. The beds were clean and it allowed for a nice sleeping experience. the hotel also had a laundry facility that I used and it was really nice!
The staff here were very friendly and ready to help! I was also surprised that they offered room service during our stay, which was not offered at other hotels (e.g. Hilton). Loved the breakfast also. Thank you'
We really enjoyed our stay at this location. Our room and the general areas were very clean and well kept and the staff were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was extensive and there was a large variety of food to choose from. I would recommend this Best Western to anyone staying in this area of the Central Valley.
Enjoy our stay, outstanding service. well kept property. Friendly and professional Staff, good choice's for breakfast, beautilful swimming pool, Quiet even though road nearby. rooms are comfortable bed and chairs excellent and nice size TV's. Coffee maker in room easy to work.
We arrived towards midnight, the hotel was half empty, yet - we got a room on the 2nd floor (stairs only) with heavy suitcase to carry up. The air-conditioning was noisy and bumbling and we had to change a room (a waste of 40min when we wanted to go to sleep). The room was clean, beds were comfort, but breakfast was very poor. In the morning, our daughter got injured, and had a cut in her hand,l. We had trouble stopping the bleeding. The receptionist gave us a cream and urged us to leave the room and then the reception hall. Some guests which saw us could not believe the situation, where are daughter hand is bleeding where the receptionist acts like that. We will never come again to this specific hotel. Such uncommon experience in a comparison with Best Western hotels.
This place is a hidden gem! Safe, clean, professional, accommodating and personable staff with lots of amenities for guests. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay here again when needing a place to stay.
The second of three Best Western Motels we used on our 3 week road trip around California. All the basics were performed well and the consistency that BW shows throughout it's estate is welcomed, even if they are all independently owned. We stocked up on breakfast every morning prior to our excursions to the National Parks as it is at least a 1.5 hour drive to the respective entrance stations. Mind you, given breakfast is served from 6am to 9.30am, there is plenty of scope to decide when you want to get on the road. I used the Pool daily and the fitness room on a couple of occasions as well which were well maintained throughout the visit. There is not much to see or do in the town of Exeter itself but should you choose to stay here, it has everything you need as a base for hungry NP hikers.
When we are in this area, this hotel is our first choice. Not only it is convenient located at the "foot" or access the Sequoia National Park, but the town is a placenta place to visit as well. We enjoy the local cafe's and restaurants, including one with French fair at Cafe Lafayette, but also we enjoy some outdoor fun at the Big L Ranch, where we picked fresh blueberries and enjoy an evening listening local musicians and the food trucks that careered to guests.
great customer service, clean pool, looks like brand new or recently remodel rooms. kuerig coffee maker. continental breakfast. Front desk lady very polite , ready to help and patient with all our question
Can hear upstairs neighbor from upstairs, The breakfast area is a bit small. Staffs are nice. Thank you for the free ice, and availability of the laundromat, great amenities for longer stay. The bathroom and room are clean. The clean smell of linens and towels is exceptionally standardized.
This was a very clean hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The young lady who checked us in was very kind and moved us downstairs since we had a lot of luggage. The man who was at the desk that evening was very personable and friendly. They have a nice workout room and their continental breakfast was very good. We would definitely stay here again.
We found this hotel on a search for somewhere to stay on our way to the Sequoias. It's about 45 minutes away and we would definitely stay there again. We checked in late at night and our room reservation was still there (not always the case in some hotels). The person checking us in was friendly and quick which was a bonus after driving all day to get there. The rooms are average inside. Not the latest decor but it was clean, spacious and the beds were super comfortable. We had a choice of pillow types. The fridge didn't seem very cold so we kept our food in the cooler. The breakfast was basic (eggs, sausage, toast, make your own waffles, cereal, fruit) but tasty and filling enough to get us on the road for the day. If you need a place to stay near the park, this is the place!
Good: Really big room, big bathroom, refrigerator, no noise from the road. Of Course you could hear people outside the room when they walked by in the morning but that is normal. Big plus with the pool, close to national parks, and the breakfast was more than we could have expected bad; Aircon is noisy. We closed it at nighttime, wish the bed would have been kingsize but I guess at an Inn that is not to be expected Can recommend.
Very clean and a newer looking Best Western in the town of Exeter. We stayed here as probably many people do, to start our journey to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The hotel is right off of Hwy 65 and was easy to find. Ben checked us in and was very nice. Rooms are large and have all the basic amenities. We enjoyed the Direct TV cable service and the bed was comfortable with a lot of pillows. Breakfast was free and had many options to choose from to start the day visiting the parks. Highly recommended when visiting Exeter and the nearby national parks!
This Best western was very clean, staff was very helpful in everything I requested. The breakfast was well stocked at all time's and they kept the area very clean for the next family or persons to use. Keep up the great work crew we will be back soon.
We spent a night here after hiking in Sequoia National Park. The room was large enough for 4 adults, offered a continental breakfast, and offered free parking. We would stay here again and recommend to others.
Overall I liked the room, everything is clean, and I had a friendly staff. However I didn't really like the breakfast and the fridge in my room was noisy. I didn't hear any noise from my neighbors. I would call it an average hotel, probably a bit overpriced. But the town, Exeter, is so nice, like a jump in the past!
One of the best hotels I have stayed in. I would give this hotel a five star. Friendly staff and very professional. Breakfast had a lot of options for being continental. Rooms were so clean and well maintained. Plenty of towels available. I enjoyed that there was a refrigerator and microwave as well.
Front Desk Attendant, Laura, was very courteous and helpful. Easy check-in. Room is clean and comfortable. Great location. When traveling in the area this is my preferred place to stay. Centrally locked and convenient for my business needs.
Stayed here one night on the way to Sequoia. Nice room, nice beds, nice facilities, including the pool, good access to stores and restaurants, and pretty close to Sequoia. A bit overpriced. No breakfast because of COVID. Although they did give us free Sunkist Oranges.
Clean, friendly staff, not far from food and parks. Stayed here a lot the last year and by far the best location. Wouldn't wait till the last min. Staff has aloud extremely late check in. Been able to arrive as late at 1:30a.m.
We were passing through on the way to Sequoia from Vegas. The hotel is an oasis between the two. We grabbed a snack and a beer at a local brewery and were welcomed by everyone from the bar tender to the locals and the food vendor. This hotel is a little off of the 5 and the 99and on a good rout to Sequoia. The hotel is clean and well kept with a friendly staff a great place to stay away from the maddening crowd.
This Best Western seems fairly new and worked decently well for our stay. The doors open to the outside which is odd in this day and age, but it worked fine. It was well over 100 degrees while we were there even after 6 p.m., and the air conditioner could keep up which was great. We stayed here for two nights while visiting Sequoia National Park. We had trouble finding open restaurants in Exeter and would stay in the park next time to avoid all of the driving. Exeter is a small with little in the town, and the drive into the park is not very pretty. We did have connecting rooms which was nice, and the staff was super friendly.
For $164 I expected a nice clean hotel. Killed a roach in the bathroom, took it to the desk and it was just shrugged off like that was normal. We've stayed at 6 different Best Westerns in the past few weeks and this was the most expensive and the worst one. It's old and needs updated. The bagged breakfast wasn't as good as the other ones either. Will never stay here again.
Excellent Best Western to stay at if visiting Sequoia National Park. Reasonably priced great staff and very clean. Swimming pool was the right temperature, clean and relaxing. Highly recommend this location in Exeter.
This was a typical property for its type and perhaps better than expected. The Best Western was a fairly new property, conveniently located in Exeter. The rooms were well maintained and the breakfast was better than most found in such properties, given covid restrictions. We did not use the pool but it seemed OK. Not a bad value.
Traveling the national parks and then to Disneyland with a 13yr old and 17yr old. Both the kids and adults appreciated the cleanliness and friendliness of the BW Exeter. We had to have a package FedEx to us ahead of our arrival. All went Smoothly. I would stay here again.
I stayed here over a weekend and was throughly impressed. I travel quite a bit in the area to visit family and this is the best hotel I have found in Tulare County. I once worked in the hotel industry and I was so impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and the service level of the staff. From housekeeping to breakfast everyone was fantastic. Breakfast is also really good. Pancakes, sausage, & eggs tasted really good. Not any powdered junk. Lastly want fo give a shout out to DANIEL from the night shift. He was super polite and very helpful. I stupidly forgot my toothbrush and he brought me one within minutes of calling the front desk. I highly recommend this hotel and if you plan on staying in Tulare…stay here!
Excellent service, brand new hotel. Very clean. Staff was very pleasant, high energy, courteous. Gave great recommendations for dinner, movie theaters, directions to national parks. Staff was very responsive to every request.
The hotel was easy to find and check in was easy The room was large and clean The queen beds were very comfortable The AC worked and was reasonably quiet The bathroom had nice lighting and was very clean The room had a big tv with lots of channels There were plenty of outlets to charge items The hotel had a decent gym with free weights, elliptical and treadmill They had a pretty nice pool, but the hot tub was cold. They had a good real breakfast with hot eggs, Danish, fruit, yogurt, I felt this was a reasonable option to stay between visiting the two nearby national parks.
The hotel room was clean, the staff and breakfast was okay. The hot tub was out of service and the fold out couch had the worse mattress I have ever seen, nothing but springs. We used the fold out couch for our 31 year old handicapped son and felt terrible he had to sleep on a bed of springs.
This is in a dinky cute town. We we going to Kings Canyon. We have stayed at many Best Westerns this one exceeded all expectations. The room was truly one of the if not the nicest we have been in and we have been all over Cali. Give this place a try.
Great location for our visit to the national parks nearby. We wanted to stay in a town close but not too close. This location was just about 25 miles from the southern park entrance to Sequoia. Great breakfast with the best eggs ever.
This motel was surprisingly clean, modern and beautifully decorated. We stayed there for one night while visiting Sequoia National Park. Check in was a breeze, and the young lady at the desk was very kind. We really enjoyed our stay due to the location, the nice spacious room and it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again if in the area, and I would recommend it to my friends or family.
Exeter BW is newer of the 2 hotel choices in this cute Central Valley historic town with its classic water tower and downtown Main Street of restaurants and antique stores. Stay here for Sequoia NP 30 mins east, this is closest town outside park. But they need electric vehicle charging stations!!
We chose this hotel on a weekend visit to the Sequoia National Park. We were happy with the cleanliness, the space, the amenities, and the comfort of the bed of this room. Even with the current Covid restrictions, we were given a very pleasant breakfast with the choice of eggs sausage and many other items. We would definitely stay again when visiting the area.
I stayed here for a week with my 2 boys while visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon. Clean, spacious rooms. Pool was nice and refreshing. Hot tub closed due to Covid. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. There are not a lot of options for dining around but we ate the breakfast on the road that was provided by the hotel which was nice. My only complaint was our AC unit made weird, loud noises which woke us up at night. We ate dinner most nights in Visalia (10 miles away) where there are a lot of options, grocery stores, Target, etc. Tgere are also restaurants in Three Rivers but, we didn't stop at any. We gased up at the station down the street from the hotel on our way to the parks each day. Make sure to have plenty of food, drinks, ice and sunscreen before going into the parks because there are little to no options for food and gas. On another note, check out Slick Rock park outside of Three Rivers for a fun day on the river if you have time outside of the national parks.
This is by far the nicest BW I've ever stayed at. Every staff member was so nice and helpful and genuinely wanted to help you with anything you needed. Everything was so clean and nice as well. It was a pleasure staying there.
So nice to be able to back right up to the room. Clean, spacious, quiet room. AC was cold, and the kids loved the pool. Town itself was very nice, lots of options for food, gas,, grocery and close to Sequoia. Would recommend staying here.
As close to flawless as I've seen in a Best Western. Completely unexpected, because it's so far off the beaten track. Clean, quiet, and the room was so well done I took photos to show my wife of some of the details (we're doing some remodeling). Special thaks to the young lady at the front desk--I needed quiet to work on my laptop, she put me in the perfect room. I only come to Exeter to visit family; I will ABSOLUTELY stay here again.
We travel a lot and were in California for a week visiting four National Parks. As Exeter is close to Sequoia and Kings Canyon we stayed there two nights and do not regret the stay. First impressions are everything and the person at the front desk made a great one. My only regret was not writing her name down. The hotel is neat and clean, the breakfast was great and did have an Hispanic touch which I appreciated. If in the area again we would choose this as our place to stay.
This is mainly basic hotel. However rooms are spacious and location is very quiet. Still a couple of miles to Sequoia N.P. Not much to do in Exeter however but Sequoia N.P. is superb ! So definately recommended to stay here on your way !
This was a nice hotel. The front desk clerks, Ben and Maria, were very friendly and efficient. The room was large and clean. Breakfast was good and well stocked. They had hot options as well as the usual items.
The property is in a nice location for touring the Sierras, visiting locals or just driving through. I was please at how clean, neat and modern the facility is. Breakfast is extensive and the local charm is nice.
this is a fine hotel and very friendly personnel. When we had a problem to find our room the girl on the reception came with us and took our luggage; The breakfast area was very nice and everything you needed was there. The lady from the breakfast was also very helpful. If I'm in the area I will book this hotel again
Very clean room. Minus the few flying bugs . 4 bath towels which I haven't seen in awhile. The breakfast was better than I expected. Hot eggs, sausage and all the usuals. The bed was comfy and the A/C worked. A shout out to Ben at the front desk who was very nice and helpful.
Went for a friend's wedding near by the hotel, check in was 3 but the wedding was at 4 so I needed early check in and they got me in way earlier than expected which helped a lot. Super close to the town.
Stayed one night here en route to Kings Canyon and it was ideal, especially after a night in tired old accomodation in Kernville. Very clean, well kept and comfortable, with a great bed and excellent laundry facilities. Room was quiet despite the property's close proximity to the busy main road; the site itself is well-kept and tidy and the only slightly offputting aspect was the outlook from our room, which faced onto a trailer park. We're not well versed in breakfast offerings at this type of accomodation; it seemed okay to us if not lavish. Would stay again if we were headed into the Grant Grove entrance to the national park.
Great place to stay , extremely clean, comfortable, good value, great breakfast . I will use Best Western any chance I can. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had good pressure, didn't get to use pool, maybe some other time. We stay on 1st floor, and it had a covered walkway to office . Overall I give it an “A+”
The hotel is clean, very comfortable, the place to stay if you are visiting Sequoia. The park is about 30 minutes away. The rooms are bit noisy. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast very limited, and the pool was OK.
We stayed in the park for 2 nights so we could see Kings Canyon and Sequioa National Parks. I would definitely stay IN the park if you can (we did Wuksachi Lodge). It's a far drive out. But, this was where we stayed after we left the park on our way back to LA. And it was great! Friendly front desk, free breakfast (not the best though), and nice rooms. We had 2 adjoining rooms for 6 of us. Large, comfy. We drove over to Visalia for dinner and not far. Overall, very pleased! And good price for the room.
This Best Western seems extremely well run and the rooms, beds, etc have been upgraded recently. Definitely worth a stay when passing through on the way to Sequoia. The rooms were clean, albeit a little noisy (free ear plugs ARE offered at the front desk) and it is a "motel style" in that the rooms open to the outside. Bad for noise, great for loading/unloading the car. The breakfast is surprisingly good, as a southerner I'm pretty picky about my biscuits and gravy but they pulled off a good version. All in all, for the money a very good value, would definitely stay here again if I was passing through the region.
Nice average best western hotel. In a nice distance to see Sequoia national park. The pool is nice - and you get complimentary wifi+pool Towels during the stay. the breakfast is also included and its quite nice. Average American style breakfast with eggs, wafels, Bread etc.
Room was in real good condition and had no issues. It was larger than most for similar price. Clean. Has outside entrance. The only issue I had was that they don't have enough parking on the south side for all the rooms. We had to park on the north side when we got in later than everyone. Breakfast was fine. The room may have been a little small though. Staff was very nice and let us check in a little early since the room was ready
Thank you reviewers. Based on your opinions, we opted for Best Western in Exeter over staying somewhere in Three Rivers. It is worth the extra 30 minute drive to Sequoia. The hotel was clean and updated with a large room. We loved the town of Exeter...great people and excellent restaurants.
Worth every penny. (Use your AAA perks) Quiet place, clean, friendly staff. Check-in and check out process was the easiest and fastest I've ever had. Complimentary breakfast had a few different choices if you travel with kids. Overall one of the best hotel experiences. I recommend and will defenitely keep in mind for future travel.
I spent two nights at Best Western Hotel Exeter to visit Sequoia National Park. It was 1/2 hr drive to the Foothill Visitor Center so very convenient. It was 10 min drive to Visalia where all the restaurants and malls are. The hotel rooms were spacious and clean. A/C was nice and powerful. Swimming pool was clean and towels were available at front desk. Jacuzzi was very hot but didn't bubble that well. Breakfast was decent. There was water station in lobby to refill your water bottles. Coffee is also available during the day in the lobby. The hotel was close to several gas stations. It was a good location to stay for Sequoia National Park. I recommend this hotel.
Exeter is a wonderful tour company who really conveys the real Russia, not what you read in the news back in the United States. Fantastic guides, great connections for normally unavailable experiences, fantastic hotel accommodations in Four Seasons hotels. I can't wait to travel with Exeter again!!!
Hotel is located in the small agricultural/rural location. Very nice place to stay if going to Visalia or on route visiting Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park. We've stayed at this hotel various times when going to Visalia for a yearly festival. Although a short drive from Visalia, we think it's worth it to get the great price and very quiet location.
Nice play to stay when visiting the national park and the beautiful area. Easy to find and easy access to park, horseback riding, movies and restaurants, and other outdoor activities. Oranges are fresh in office and are in groves nearby.
Stayed here last night on our way home. I thought the hotel was less than 5 years old it was in such great shape. Found out this morning that it has been there for 20 years. Watched the College Football Championship on a nice HD TV while sitting on a decent sofa. Breakfast was better than expected, hot food and the rest. We would definitely stay there again if we were to run up to Sequoia National Park. Unfortunately with the government shutdown the park was closed. Would definitely recommend it.
Nice room not too far from sequoia National park. Easy check in. Nice coconut scented toiletries made in Canada. The sofa bed was a bit too soft (little support). Breakfast was good with some hot eggs, sausage and other items. Located between a citrus grove and open space.
Although this was a nice place to stay, it might the hotel I fancied the less. It's located in the middle of nowhere and there was not much to do around. Saying that, it's a good hotel to stop for the night.
This review is for the location. My family and I had a really nice vacation this past summer, I was planning to stay here, but I took to long to decide where to stay and when I finally decided they didn't have the 2 nights we needed (not their fault). We stayed somewhere else a little bit farther, but we went to eat at this restaurant close to this hotel on our way back from day 2 at Sequoia and I realized that this place would've been a good choice. I do recommend this hotel if you are looking for a hotel not too far from the National Park.
Location is its main selling point, close to Sequoia NP. Walls are thin and workers leaving early are loud as they leave. Restaurant choices nearby leave something to be desired. Wish we had come later and had dinner before we arrived. It was clean and breakfast was okay.
This hotel is well-maintained and a good place to stop if you are heading to Sequoia National Park. Check-in was fast, the staff was friendly, Wi-Fi worked well, the lobby area was inviting, and our suite was roomy and very clean. The breakfast had a wide variety of items and was kept replenished as needed. A special thanks goes out to Daniel, the front desk clerk. He went out of his way to help me and to make me feel welcome.
We stayed here for 3 nights, it was a great place to explore Sequoia NP from (about 45 mins to entrance) We had a king size bedroom, there was lots of space. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The towels and linen were good quality, towels were fluffy and a decent size. Good wifi, no problem with the speed. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, there were the usual hot options of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. The attendant kept the breakfast area well stocked and clean. The pool looked inviting but we didn't use it. The laundry was clean and worked well. Would definitely stay here again.
Whilst our first impression on checking in was not so good (receptionist Ben very brusque not people friendly) and then found the fridge in room allocated did not work, Within minutes the General Manager Neil came to the room and put everything right and sent an e-mail the following day asking if all was well he also delivered a box of yummy cookies - superb response and service. Hotel is situated on a main road but has lovely citrus groves to the side and mountain views to the rear, motel style two floors high without lifts. Rooms are large with sitting area, spotlessly clean spacious, well equipped with all very modern amenities to the extent that the microwave have charging points for phones etc. Good pool area, excellent breakfast which included a variety of hot items. We like to have an early evening beer around the pool before eating so that ruled our driving and whilst the closest restaurants are within a 20minute walk they are on a very busy road without sidewalks. East meets West was good Asian/American food and (Me & Ed's Pizza delivery an excellent alternative). Hotel is a 40mins drive to Sequoia visitors centre so suited us great for our three night stay and would definitely stay again if in this area and would highly recommend this exceptionally well run hotel . Thanks Neil for the superb customer service from providing information by e-mail during the booking process to making us feel very welcome.
A typical Best Western, easy to find. All fine, rooms large and clean equipped with all necessary stuff. Team very friendly and supportive. Rooms dipper with large TV, coffee machine, fridge and microwave. Fast WiFi.
About half an hour from the Southern entrance of Sequoia National Park. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is fine. Wifi works like a charm. I had a problem with my cell phone and the manager kindly and efficiently helped me out.
We arrived late and got out early the next day. We were treated like regulars and provided with many tips. Also a good recommendation for the dinner was there. A hotel as you wish, friendly, nice room and very good service.
We stayed here when we visited Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Great choice! Room was very clean and comfortable. Mini refrigerator in room, microwave and mini Keurig coffee maker. Close to restaurants in Exeter. Outdoor pool and hot tub. Easy to access. Good breakfast choices in morning. Was sad that bacon was not an option any of the 4 days we stayed.
We were looking for the best place to stay in order to get up to Sequoia in the morning. I think this motel offered the most reasonable price for a well kept room. The room was large and clean and the refrigerator had the largest freezer section I have encountered in a motel. The breakfast was typical for a motel, but the staff was was excellent.
A good place to stop on the way to/from Sequoia National Park. Recently remodeled. Comfortable rooms. No tea in the room though. Breakfast in the lobby, better than most motels. Swimming pool and spa.
We booked this hotel for our visit to Sequoia. We were all very happy with our visit. The breakfast were of American standard and had a good variety of things to choose between. The room was modern and clean, staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Sequoia any more times.
We spent a night here during a road trip, before heading to Sequioa NP the next day - about a 45 minute drive. This hotel looks brand new. The rooms are BIG and spotless. Very comfortable. The on site laundry room was a plus, as was breakfast. Highly recommend, if you are looking for a place to stay in the area.
Lovely hotel. Overnight stop after many days travelling. Nice relaxing hotel, good nights sleep in clean spacious accommodation. There was a breakfast included in the price which was fresh with several hot options. Overall great!.
The rooms are big and clean. There is also a pool outside for relax and a fitnessroom to use. The breakfast is usually international. The staff is friendly. Fast and free internet. So i recommend it and come again.
We stayed 3 nights after a busy few days in San Fran. What a contrast. Large, clean room , friendly staff ( Shout out to Ben on the front desk, great helpful guy as well as the dude with the blue hair , I didn't see your name badge, sorry ) great pool and close to Sequoia National Park. I would stay here again. Our 11 year old loved it.
We stayed at the Best Western in Exeter for a weekend since we were attending a wedding nearby. The room was clean and very pleasant with a nice sitting area and a good tv. The air conditioning worked well and pool was small but incredibly enjoyable -- and made the valley heat tolerable. Staff were very helpful -- and breakfast was a good one. I'd definitely recommend it. It seemed a little pricey for the area -- but the room also was considerably nicer than the other motels of other brands that I've stayed at in the area. (Great water pressure, good hot water, comfy bed, lots of space.) It's not far from Sequia/
Decent clean room. The AC was incredibly loud at night. They need real pillows not just weird square sacks - so sleeping wasn't great. Breakfast was okay - eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, pastries - the usual. Convenient location to Sequoia.
It is a clean hotel. The hotel check in did NOT inform us that there was a water contamination in the city and that ALL water needed to be boiled before using. So I had already brushed my teeth and used the ice from the ice machine before we found out. We found out because we were hungry and decided to go find dinner. That's weird! Everything is closed? We saw a sign on a door. ALL restaurants closed because of water contamination. Ok? The next closest town with good food is 25 minutes away and we have starving kids that had wanted to eat and swim. This was 8:00 pm. Next subject: you can hear EVERYTHING! I mean EVERYTHING from the other rooms. Phone alarms, conversations perfectly. Lots of fighting going on between husbands and wives. The wives kept screaming at their husbands! I hope I don't do that.
Real nice place. I wish you the same luck as I had when I arrived. Got room on end. Parked directly in front of room door. Room spacious, with fridge, microwave, iron/board, hair dryer, king bed. A relatively quiet area/ no businesses nearby. Wifi worked great. Big screen TV with a clear picture and many channels.
We stopped here for just one night. Great hotel. We were checked-in in only a couple of minutes. Our room was one of the nicest I've stayed in. It had a huge bed and a separate seating area. WiFi was quick, good channels on the TV, spacious bathroom, and the breakfast was very good. We walked into town where there are plenty of bars and restaurants and it only took about 15 mins. I highly recommend this hotel. It's in an ideal location for visiting Sequoia National Forest.
We stayed her after visiting Sequoia National Park before heading to the coast. It was a great hotel, the staff were friendly. The room clean and spacious. We were able to rest after a long day on the road. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast but there were plenty of choices and the food was fresh and the staff was very consciousnesses about refilling everything. I would recommend staying here if you happened to be passing through.
Clean and quiet spot to rest your head. Friendly staff. Nice alternative than a hotel on Highway 99. Breakfast O.K. Traditional american meal. Waffles, eggs, muffins, biscuits, sausage, coffee, sugar cereals.
Only stayed one night, but found this to be a great motel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Gave us great advice about restaurants and sites to see in the area. The rooms were excellent. Wifi worked well and the breakfast was very good.
This was the best Best Western we have stay at. Great room, great service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. I have stayed at other Best Western hotels and this hotel exceeded my expectations.
Came with my bike club for a weekend of riding in the area and stayed here. The rooms were nice with comfy beds and a clean bathroom. The staff worked with our group and allowed us an early check-in so we could get ready for an afternoon ride upon arriving. The wi-fi worked well in our room and had good reception with my Verizon phone. The make your own breakfast in the morning was really nice with a make your own waffle maker, some scrambled eggs already prepared, cereals, pastries, juices, coffee and milk. Exeter is a very small town with only a few restaurants and places to stay. This was probably the nicest place to stay in town and on the gateway to Sequoia National Park.
Excellent! I would definitely recommend this hotel! Clean, quiet, nicely decorated, A/C and heater worked perfectly, convenient location (it's around 35 minutes away from the Sequoia-Kings Parks), friendly staff, free parking, and they had warm breakfast.
Rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is good with several options. Close to Exeter, Visalia, Porterville, and Lindsay. It's a bit of a drive to the interesting part of Sequoia National Park.
Most expensive hotel I stayed in over a seven day period. Amenities did not match the price. Main hotel sign did not come on until well after dark due to auto turn on feature set to daylight saving time. Made finding the hotel a bit pos a challenge. TV remote is too basic to be useful and TV was set up in French.
CA Highway 198 is a great east-west route if you want to drive from Sequoia National Park to Pinnacles National Park. Turn north on Highway 25 to Pinnacles. BW is always a good value. We like the cleanliness, efficiency, the satisfying breakfast at the BW locations. Staff was friendly and helpful, too.
This is my favorite place to stay when I come into town for an event I participate in showcasing products from The Cocoa Exchange at the Exeter Woman's Club 'Christmas in October'. At Best Western, Vanessa... what a wonderful and lovely person. She remembered me from my visit last year. The entire staff is amazing and the hotel is always clean and comfortable. The T.V. remote quit working and was immediately replaced with another one. They always are working to make sure guests are taken care of.
In the past I have stayed at over 40 Best Western properties and this one has to rank in the top five. Everything about the hotel far exceeding my expectations: nice and quiet location, clean and spacious rooms, very competent and friendly staff, close to the national parks, and great wifi. In a heart beat, I would recommend this property.
This is a very clean facility and the rooms are modern and updated. The breakfast is very nicely presented and the food choices are good. The pool and hot tub are very clean. I recommend this hotel when traveling to this area. We had a very nice stay at this hotel.
Room was much bigger than expected, new convenient coffee maker, and very comfortable furnishings / bed. Breakfast was well furnished, area cleaned, and with good selection. Late night check-in was flawless and friendly.
Best Western Exeter was a great find! The room was very clean and decorated well. The beds were super comfy. The room had a microwave and fridge. The breakfast was very good with waffles, eggs, sausage and biscuits and the regular breakfast extras. The hotel is an easy 40 minutes ride from the Sequoia National Park gate. I would definitely stay again if I am in the area.
Couldn't wish for a more comfortable hotel. The room was clean and well equipped. Reception staff were helpful on arrival and - this is a good test - even more helpful at 4 a.m. When we departed ! The hotel is ideally situated for the best of Visalia. It's a no risk choice
We stayed at this hotel for 2 days in October and it could not have been better. The rooms are extra clean, roomy,, in great working order. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The front desk clerk, when we checked in went out of his way to help us . I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Exeter
The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful. Even though I was late for breakfast, they still allowed me to grab a pastry for my nephew. This is a great value for the money. I would definitely return.
We arrived late at night, and the front desk was very accommodating- getting us checked in very quickly. New hotel. Bed was very comfy. Very quiet. Top hotel, and we will stay here again. Thanks for the great sleep!
We drove from Lake Tahoe through both King's Canyon and Sequoia and I was more than ready for a good nights sleep in a clean hotel. This hotel was just outside Sequoia and convenient. It was very clean and well decorated. The breakfast was tasty. Would stay there again if in the area.
The Exeter Best Western Inn & Suites was the perfect location between both National Parks. Day 1 my husband and I toured Sequoia National Park and day 2 did Kings Canyon. Plenty of restaurants nearby to grab dinner in the evenings. Comfy beds at night to recharge for the next day!
I could not find any lodging of any kind in Porterville, near the main road, Hwy 99. I looked for a while. This town is about 10 miles north on that same highway. The orange trees are so beautiful for miles and miles. Sequoia trees are east, in the mountains.
We stayed in Exeter when we couldn't find lodging closer to Sequoia National Park. Excellent hotel with everything we needed while traveling to multiple National Parks. Traditional breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee and juice. Washer & Dryer available.
Returned to this hotel for the third time during our trip to the national parks. Each stay was positive in that we were treated with courteous staff, the room was great, bed comfortable, workout room adequate, breakfast everything one would want, and pickup and delivery to and from the airport was quick and uneventful.
This was absolutely the best Best Western we have ever stayed in. Rooms were large and clean. Bed was very comfortable. The staff eager to serve and help. If you are staying outside Sequoia N.P. , this is the best place to stay.
This was a return visit & I was over pleased all over again! My trip to Exeter was a place to stay while visiting Sequoia National Park, which is about 50 miles northeast. The 2 queen-bed room was comfortable, quiet, clean, well maintained, parking was easy to locate near the room, staff was cheerful & helpful, check-in was quick as was check-out. I will be back again.
We stayed one night here on the way to Sequoia. Really recommend it. Friendly front of house staff. Large, clean, well air conditioned rooms. A small gym which we used (and a very small pool which we didn't). Just on the outskirts of a lovely quaint little town. Breakfast included and included a rapid lesson on waffle making! A great stop-off. Well recommended.
Best Western Exeter Inn and Suites was surprisingly good -- very clean and well-maintained. The pool and hot tub were terrific after long days of hiking. One negative: an in-room safe would have been appreciated.
Great value for money. Large clean and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Visited Sequoia which is about 30miles away. Swimming pool great too. Pizza Factory restaurant nearby well worth a visit. If you are looking for somewhere to stay near this national park would thoroughly recommend this.
This very nice motel is located about 40 minutes drive from the South entrance to the grand sequoia park where the giant trees live. It feels like being at a lonely god-forsaken place, but there is a little town Exeter nearby, where a few restaurants and a petrol station can take care of you and your car. Rooms are pretty large, service is smilingly, and the breakfast is varied and worth it. -price wise, it is a good value for money.
We arrived late after a long day in the car and couldn't have been happier to see the hotel and our room. The room was clean, very large and so comfortable. The next day breakfast was so nice to have more than coffee and yogurt! If we are ever in the area again we would not hesitate to stay here. We actually considered if we could base our sightseeing from here, but just didn't work this time.
Guest rooms are spacious and clean. The property is very quiet at night. The staff is fantastic. The entire hotel was recently renovated and it is very comfortable. Breakfast has a lot of options - even some that are healthy.
Clean, room was nice, service for t front desk clerk was nice and helpful. The hotel facility was a lot nicer than expected especially being quite a distance from bigger cities. We would stay there again if we need a room in the area
I stay at this BW property several days each month. Over the years, it shines as the best BW property I have stayed at. It is exceptionally clean, offers a very reasonable breakfast and has trained caring staff. It is very difficult to keep a hotel property running well and consistently. I totally respect these owners for doing such a great job. I stay at a lot of BW properties and this one never disappoints (some others do!). They have limited space for the fitness equipment here, so that is marginal, but I do use it every time I stay here. Frankly, they should have the BW "Plus" designation. I have stayed at BW Plus properties that are not nearly as nice or well run as this one. It is a great stopping point on your way to Sequoia National Park and the quaint town of Exeter is like Mayberry. It is famous for its murals throughout the town and the many antique and collectible shops. It is worth a walk around town, even if you are just on the way to the Sierras. I cannot imagine you not being pleasantly surprised by this BW property.
We really were pleasantly surprised by this new small hotel. It was clean, neat and the morning breakfast was excellent. The check-in person could be the President of the Chamber of Commerce. She is so welcoming and helpful Exeter is a small community. Had a wonderful downtown town and nice little restaurants which were totally unexpected. Don't miss the murals in the downtown area which depicted the history of the area. Sorry Best Western but your very nice little hotel was edged out by the murals.l
Excellent value. Stayed there on a trip to Sequoia. Easy drive (1hr) to the park. Reasonably fast internet, password changed daily. Good breakfast witha selection of hot items, pastries, fruit, cereal and yoghurt
A "sisters trip" from L.A. to Sequoia and Yosemite then onto Cambria and Santa Barbara. We stayed at a couple of VRBO homes, a small boutique hotel, a couple of big name brand resort hotels, but this Best Western really was a wonderful find! We got rooms next to each other. It was new, very clean, quiet and a very relaxing place to stay. If I ever pass through this way again, I will definitely stay here. Close to the very cute town of Three Rivers and on our way to Sequoia. And Ben Salazar was a funny and kind person to greet us upon arriving. Great Stop!
This hotel is great! We were looking for a hotel kind-of close to the Sequioa's, without paying an arm and a leg. This hotel fit the bill. It was reasonably priced and a good location. Plus, the breakfast was a good selection and the staff were friendly.
We were very happy with our 2 night stay here- I am a light sleeper and no banging hotel doors all night. Beds were comfortable and clean, and it was nice to have the small refrigerator and microwave too. Kids liked the pool! Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this hotel for two nights only, as a gateway to Sequoia National Park. Exeter is sleepy but charming, and the hotel is modern, clean and well equipped. There is a small pool, and a basic but perfectly reasonable breakfast was included.
This is a pretty new hotel. Very nice. The rooms were big and very clean. We were greeting by a guy I laughingly referred to as Mr Personality because he had none. We arrived around 8 pm. I tried to let him know the next evening how wonderful the breakfast was and what a good job the lady who was keeping the breakfast area clean and stocked did. He acted like I was inconveniencing him by telling him that. Anyway, the breakfast area had a great selection including a waffle machine. We had no complaints and I highly recommend this hotel.
Stayed here for one nightafter a day at Sequioa Nationa Park and it was the best nights sleep we had in the last week. 2 queen Beds very comfortable, room clean and spacious ,shower good, breakfast ok, staff very pleasant and helpful.
After looking at many options near Sequoia National Park and looking at reviews, I am happy we chose this inn. Very comfortable. Quiet, for a motel. Only could slightly hear nearby rooms. Looks new. I hope it can stay as nice. Priced well for location. Breakfast is typical of a good Best Western. Easy morning drive to Sequoia.
Loved our visit here, super friendly staff, immaculately clean from front desk to entire room. Super spacious room with two king size beds, pillows super comfy, hot shower, awesome (and needed) air conditioning, microwave, and refrigerator. Free wifi, excellent TV. Huge breakfast selection, we wish all motels were as nice as this one.
Excellent room and staff. I would recommend as a quiet alternative to nearby cities. Full breakfast included in the rate but I still think it was too high for the location. That may be why others have chosen the nearby hotels.
Heading to Sequoia National Park about 4 hours outside of LA with my wife and father-in-law. My wife booked this motel as a stop before heading out to Sequoia in the morning. At first glance, the hotel offers a pleasant appearance as a stopping point along the way. The rooms seem adequate, clean and comfortable. Although they claim to be full, it appears as if no one else is staying here. The motel is often used by truckers who work the beautiful and scenic Orange groves along the way. I checked into the local scene, and except for an old, small town bar, there's not much to do around here. There's a small pool and jacuzzi that I intend to try, and I guess the next step will to "chillax".
Nice hotel, stayed here one night. Big room, good bed, clean. Breakfast standard, not very special. Parking in front of the room, motel. Friendly and helpful staff, would certainly stay here again. Recommendable.
We always prefer Best Western but thought such a relatively small hotel in such an out-of-the-way place would not be as good as usual. To our surprise, the rooms were even more generously sized than usual and everything worked perfectly. We particularly liked the extra-large room fridge. As always, the beds were super-comfortable and the room-darkening curtains were adequate to ensure an excellent night's sleep. The breakfast was as complete and tasty as we have found anywhere. Too bad we probably will not be here again, as we would be happy to repeat the stay.
Staff was friendly and helpful. My room was always clean and fresh. I stayed for 5 days with my two kids and we were comfortable. I really like that a computer was available for guest to use Internet and printing.
This was our third stay here, it is always clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, except for the scrambled eggs. The town is very interesting. We always enjoy our stay here. We plan on going back next April. If you visit Exeter, be sure to check out the murals around town.
This is hands down the best hotel in Exeter, CA. The room was clean and new. The hot water was super hot. I'm not kidding here. My wife said she could boil eggs with the water. The water pressure was a bit low but the hot water made up for it. The coffee maker was an off brand keurig and it sort of worked half the time. We really didn't need the coffee since in the morning we had an ample amount at the free breakfast. Which leads me to the best part of my trip to Sequoia--the sausage gravy, biscuits, sausages, eggs, orange juice, etc. I think I plan these trips for my family just so I can eat these free breakfasts.
I booked this for a family spring break road trip as one of our legs, stopping at Sequoia National Park. Exeter is a more affordable location, and I'm so glad we stayed here. Although it's approximately 45 minutes from the national park, it is still a perfect accommodation option (I'd do it again!). I passed the other accommodation options that were closer, and they were not nearly as new/nice. We had 2 rooms at Best Western Exeter (my family of 4, and traveling with grandma), and both rooms were very clean and seemed newly decorated. Surprisingly nice (we've stayed at many Best Westerns, and have seen all types)! The unexpected highlight, traveling in early April, was the incredible scent of orange blossoms coming from the next door orchard. OMG the entire town of Exeter smells of this fragrance! What a treat. Visit in spring if you are lucky enough. Downtown Exeter is tiny but cute, and the main drag has many art murals around, and some cute mom & pop shops and restaurants (& the best donut shop with the biggest apple fritter you've ever seen!). Back to the hotel - the kids had fun in the jacuzzi & cold pool, both were clean. The breakfast was great - started us off with full bellies. Would happily stay here again if ever vising the INCREDIBLE Sequoia National Park & General Sherman Tree. The drive from the hotel into the park passes many great sights along the way, as well - stop wherever you see something cool, there are many worthwhile adventures to be had! Until next time... :-)
New hotel with BW decor and quality. The room was a king size bed suite (see my photo). The bed was comfortable, room was clean with more than adequate towels. The coffee machine is an individual Keurig. The breakfast was near the lobby with a good selection of foods, tables to sit, & TV mounted high. The staff woman in the morning assisted me with finding the type tea bag I wanted - big selection of tea. At check-out she also helped me with a highlighted map to get me started to my next destination. Evening staff directed me to a good place to eat (food was great, btw)! I have already recommended this BW to family & friends. I will stay here again. Located not far from Sequoia National Park entrance; less than 2 hours drive.
The room was clean and comfortable. The shower was nice. We had a small problem with the frig/freezer in the room, but it turned out that it had been unplugged - an easy fix. The hot breakfast was good, and the breakfast room was roomy. The front desk staff were all nice, friendly and efficient. We had a few questions about dining in the area, since Exeter is a relatively small city, and they answered them well.
my wife and I really enjoy our stay, the room was clean and fresh. I liked the idea that they actually had real coffee cups instead of paper, if made the room seem more homey. The breakfast was much better than the ones with just waffles and pastry's, My wife is diabetic so was nice.
Located in Exeter, a town we had only a vague image of. The hotel is relatively new, and though on hwy 65 it's quiet in the room. Second floor was a good location. However with no elevator carrying luggage up may be a hindrance. The town has a very vibrant and quaint downtown area.
Clean room and comfy bed. Good place to stay overnight if you are visiting Sequoia and King's Canyon National Park. Free breakfast the next day is find for a quick, cheap cup of coffee. Good assortment of cereals, juices, breads and yoghurt. Almond milk was also available too which was unexpected but great.
Excellent hotel, a little out of town, but an easy walk into town. Room was clean and large. Fridge, coffee, microwave etc as to be expected with a Best Western. Bed comfortable and nice bathroom. Staff friendly. Buffet breakfast good. Easy parking. Stayed here en route to see the giant Redwoods - particularly 'General Sherman' Recommended
Very nice and clean hotel with a nice breakfast offering in the morning. The pool and the hot tub were also nice. The fitness room looked good but I did not use it. Close to town and restaurants. Nice Staff
I usually stay in Tulare, Ca at the Town and Country, but they were booked by the time I realized I would need a room for the night. Took a chance on this one and I'm glad I did. It is 10X's nicer and quieter than Tulare, although it's about 25 miles out of my way. I will probably stay here from now on when I work in Visalia.
Great service and good rooms. Fridge and cofee/tea in the room. Only downside is that there is too little light in the main room. Adding a light in the room ceiling would solve this. Recommended if you want to visit the Sierra Nevada - especially the sequoia national park.
You can not go wrong staying at this hotel... the staff are extremely awesome. They go above and beyond to see that their guests are taken care of. They were gracious in helping me with my bags, etc., and relocating me to anther room on the lower floor when one was available. I highly recommend this hotel and will be staying here again.
It was right on my way to sequoia national park, and it was in my opinion a very quick drive up to the park. the room was beautiful! clean and spacious. the price is comparable, and the staff was extremely welcoming. The bed was sooo comfortable and the sheets were crisp and new feeling. I loved it!
Here in the small farming town of Exeter, lies a hidden jewel sort of out of the way. But what a treat it was while I stayed here. I stayed here to go to Sequoia National Park. The room was great and the breakfast was average.I base that on staying at two of the best in all of the B/W's that I have stayed at. All in all a very good place to stay.
Do not hesitate to stay at this hotel, the people were friendly and the breakfast is very good, its just a great place to stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going thorough that part of the country. We were very satisfied.
New facility in a nice community It was about 40 minutes from Sequoia National Park, and the drive to the park was very scenic. The hotel was convenient and perfect for our stay The staff was accommodating and very pleasant. Breakfast included several options and was a nice start to the day before going to the park
This hotel was right up to the expectations of a Best Western and if I was in this area again I would stay there! The rooms were clean and relatively new. The service at check in and throughout the stay was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the service there was great too! We also received a welcome give when we arrived which added to the stay.
This is one of the better Best Western hotels. The rooms are spacious. The internet is good and fast. Breakfast is included and you have many choices. Staff is very friendly. I can recommand this hotel if you are not so far away from it.
We chose this place because of its proximity to Sequoia Park - about 45 minutes away. Hotel has two floors with outside entrance - no elevator. From outside, it looks like the 1950's. There also isn't much else to choose from in Exeter. Room was good size and clean - no complaints there. Front desk staff had a list and map of restaurants in town. We went twice to East Meet West run by an Oriental couple who were very friendly and who produced very good food. It's about one mile north of the hotel. Breakfast was ok, nothing great.
Staff at check in was super friendly, helpful and with a great sense of humor. We asked for a recommendation for dinner and was told to check out Charles Street - a great recommendation. Lisa runs the breakfast and does a fantastic job of ensuring all the guests have everything they need and enjoy their meal.
This was a nice hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was good and it is reasonably priced. However, it is a long drive to the entrance to Sequoia National Park and then a very long drive to the visitor center. There were also a very limited number of options for places to eat. We drove into the little town and found only a Subway, a Burger King and other fast food places to eat. Don't know that I would stay here again just because it wasn't convenient.
What a surprise to find this little gem of a hotel. We extended our stay from one night to two after we checked in - as it was a long drive from LA. Beds were very comfy, breakfast was excellent, room was modern, updated and very clean. And the pool was lovely - it was 105 degrees there! Bring your suits! Just down the street was a little town with lots of interesting shops and restaurants. First night we ventured to Visalia and went to Quesadilla Gorilla for dinner which we HIGHLY recommend, 2nd night we went to Frosty King in Exeter for great mexican food (yes! Frosty King!). The sequoias are about 35 windy, windy miles away - what a beautiful drive and this was a great hotel to come back to after that day trip.
Only an hour from the Sequoia National Park .New , clean, and very good breakfast.the price was good considering California is pretty expensive. Quality sheets and pillowsu won't be disappointed.Tv, microwave,. Great place to rest your head. Not much to do in town
I was very surprised to find this new feeling hotel was 17 years old. Great service, breakfast was decent, and rooms were outstanding. The only complaint i had is my room (207) had a very loud air conditioning unit. Other rooms belonging to associates did not have loud units. I grew up not far away and know that part of the draw for this particular hotel is that is 30 minutes from the very expensive lodging in Three Rivers and is a much cheaper alternative for vacationers visiting Sequoia-Kings National Park. Ben at the front desk was very helpful throughout our stay.
Beautiful Hotel in the middle of nowhere! We stayed here on a trip to visit Sequoia because there were no affordable accommodations left closer to the park for our travel dates. 45 minute drive to and from Sequoia was rough but the hotel was nice to come back to. Only complaint is one evening had to wait a few hours to shower because there was no water on in the hotel. Otherwise the breakfast was good (scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon, waffle bar and continental breakfast fixings) , the facility was immaculately clean and the staff friendly and helpful.
This hotel is a very good place to stay in the area. Well maintained and clean. The staff went out of their way to help us with a myriad of questions and good answers. I felt secure and safe at the hotel.
My husband and I stayed here for one night while we visited Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Parks. This place is newly updated and, once the door is closed, it feels more like a hotel than a motel. Super clean and comfortable. The coffee wasn't bad either. We would stay here again.
Our family was traveling on a tow day road trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon and decided to stay at this hotel which is just outside the two parks and national forest (about 20 minutes). I totally recommmend staying at this hotel when traveling on a budget. Great price for a great room; and beds were perfect (had a great sleep). Breakfast was good; they stated they are working to make it even better. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Enjoyed our stay here, clean, comfortable with friendly helpful staff. The purpose of the trip was to hike Sequoia National Park, good location. There are bed & breakfast places much closer to the park but they're expensive and most are not eye appealing from the outside.
Great for a 1 night stay for a trip to Sequoia National Forest. Clean, nicely appointed room, Free Breakfast, Cute little town. Pool and Jacuzzi were great after a long day of hiking. Rooms were decorated with the beautiful Giant Forest Redwood trees. Mini Suites with 2 beds - perfect for a family of 4.
The appearance and cleanliness of a hotel are huge for me and this one was fantastic. Even my kids noticed the difference from the hotel that we had stayed at the night before. I'd recommend a stay here.
Very nice. There was some confusion about my request for a ground floor room when I made the reservations but this was corrected when I arrived. The room was clean and comfortable and the air conditioner was on so the room was cool when we got there. It was over 100 outside.
Good customer service ... only issue was housekeeping. ..I wanted my room serviced and they turned my door hanger around. Other than this the room was good and the staff at checkin was great. I woulD recommend
We chose this location to be close to Sequoia National Park. The hotel was wonderful, with touches that made it unique to both the area and the management. The pool was clear, clean and refreshing, with the hot tub right there. The continental breakfast had a nice selection of items, above the standard offerings. The staff was very helpful. I absolutely would stay here again.
Great first impression when you entered the room. Very clean, nicely decorated. Parking right out our door. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast to start your day. Don't hesitate on this one!!
Enjoyed the stay at this hotel, nice little town, area was very quiet with easy access to and from the property, travel to catch our ride to the Sequoia's was less then 3 miles from the BW, nice areas to eat with in less then 3 miles.
Hotel is very well maintained, clean and quiet. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is nice, light and healthy selections as well as waffles, eggs and sausage. Only about a half hour drive to Sequoia National Park. Easy to get to, right off the highway. Would stay here again if we visit the park again.
Exeter Best Western is a great hotel / motel if you going to Sequoia National Park. We normally stay at 4 to 5 star hotels. I have never stayed at a Best Western before. It was a great experience. The room was decent size and very clean. The price was great. Free breakfast in the lobby every morning that was good. Nothing fancy, just coffee , juice, yogurt, cereal, bagels, and pastries. Beds were comfortable. They should consider adding HD to the television. Overall great stay for 3 days.
Partially updated rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. AC is cold but a little noisy. Free continental breakfast was very decent. Office staff was very friendly. Stayed here because if proximity to Sequoia Nat Park. Be sure to go into the main town and see the hand painted murals on the buildings.
Stayed here on way to Sequoia National Park. The hotel is clean and comfortable, which is all we really needed. The staff were very friendly. Did use the pool and hot tub, which were nice. The breakfast was basic, but good enough.
This was the cheapest hotel during our 9-day trip to California. And, it was actually the cleanest and most impressive for the price. Internet worked well. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, but the staff person there was very attentive and constantly refilling and checking on things. we just needed a place to stay after visiting Sequoia.. we didn't want to drive three hours to the west coast tired.
Hotel was good for an overnight stop, breakfast (included in price) was really good. There wasn't much around for dinner, we had to drive to Vasalia for dinner, ate in a great place called BrewBakers. Really good food.
Stayed one night on our way to Sequoia national park. Clean comfortable room, good night sleep and a nice breakfast. But what makes this hotel exceptional is: left my fitness tracker (gift from my kids) behind, realized later that evening, very upset, called hotel who advised me to call and speak with young woman at front desk. I called following morning and my tracker had been found by housekeeping and the young woman graciously arranged to have bracelet shipped to my home address. I was overwhelmed by the housekeeping staffs honesty and the young woman at front desk who helped me, I will be sure to tell this story to friends and family and would definetly recommend this hotel.
We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was. They were doing some remodeling and painting when we arrived for early checkin. The hotel is a diamond in the rough as there isn't much in the surrounding area to include three rivers. The drive to Sequoia Natl Park is about 30 minutes depending on how fast you drive. From the entrance of the park it can take another hour or so depending on where your going so I would factor that in to staying here. Driving through Three Rivers I didn't see anything quite as nice, and enjoyed the BW Exeter seclusion and not as crowded as the Three Rivers options. Would definitely stay here again when busting the area.
The property is quite new and very clean. The service was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub as the sun was setting after a long day of touring. Our room was more in line with a room at a BW Plus. The breakfast was excellent and well stocked in spite of being a holiday weekend.
Stayed here for one night. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was close to Sequoia National Park. There were fellow hikers staying at the hotel as well. Seemed like a popular place to stay. Would stay again.
This is probably the best hotel in the area in every aspect. Affordability, cleanliness, friendly staff and closeness to the Sequoia National Park entrance. The only problem with this hotel is that they have only 32 rooms and fills up quickly. So make your reservation in advance if you'd like to enjoy this little gem at the gates of Sequoia!
Hotel was in a good location for sequoia national park. They were extremely helpful in accommodating us for an extra night. The room was comfortable but was very dusty and Spoke to reception about it and when we got back in the evening it was a lot cleaner. Breakfast was included in the stay as well and wifi in the room. The staff were very nice as well. Great laundry facilities too. The only downside was we were woken up very early hours of the morning with people coming back to their rooms
nice rooms, great value , friendly staff. Close to Sequoia NP. fridge in the room. Loved having breakfast included. would stay again. only 2 miles of the main road to the National Park. Pool and hot tub,
I stay here frequently for business. The hotel is clean, well run and the staff is very caring and professional. This property is actually nicer than some of the Best Western Plus properties I have stayed in. It is the best choice in the Exeter area and a good stopping point on the way to Sequoia National Park.
This hotel is in very calm and small city. Access to Sequoia NP gate takes about 40 min. Breakfast is very excellent. Bed is little bit small for two adults and of course, this problem is same for most best-western hotels. In summary, this hotel is very comfortable and good for this price.
Very good and clean hotel, I would recommend it to my friends and family. It was better then I expected, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. It was a great environment and it was very good service with the breakfast and in morning and all. Overall it was a great place clean hotel.
The room smelled like they used too many cleaning products and fabric softener to attempt to mask some other offensive odor. I could not get past the smell to notice anything else on which to comment.
I recently stayed at this hotel during a visit to Sequoia National Park. This hotel is a little way from the park entrance (40 minutes) but it was the only hotel available last minute over the Thanksgiving weekend. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The rooms had clearly been renovated recently and were obviously well looked after. In terms of value for money this hotel is a good option for a brief stop prior to exploring the beautiful southern portion of the Sierra Nevada.
This hotel has been updated with beautiful textured wallpapers, paint and a nice new bathroom. The hotel was quiet and staff were very kind. Size of the room was great to two people as well. Would stay again!!
We stayed here as a home base for visiting the General Sherman tree and Sequoia National Park. It worked out great for that. The park is a short drive though once you get in the mountains it is a slow drive with windy roads so it takes over an hour due to the windy road and slow speeds you need to drive at. The hotel itself was nice. Lots of easy free parking, nice breakfast area, and the room was decent, though a bit on the smaller side (especially the bathroom area). It has that motel feel with parking right outside the room door. This is right on the outskirts of town, though the town is small so restaurants are not far away. It is by many orange tree groves so that was fun to see. For a place to stay for day-tripping into the Giant Sequoia forest, this worked out great. Thanks for reading.
Nice rooms, very clean, and good parking. Great bed. Free breakfast a definite plus. Located near a major highway and in a quiet area. Reserved two rooms, and children where happy with size of bed, and the bathroom and shower....plenty of hot water for all.
The hotel is small, but it has verything needed incluing free breakfast. It is nice and quiet within a few blocks of city center. The room is clean. The hotel staffs are polite and helpful. I stayed in a suite for 3 nights and got some much needed rest.
The was a fairly decent hotel. Room was clean. Bathroom was old style with the sink/countertop outside from the tub/toilet. Pool and hot tub in good condition. Breakfast was full with a variety of choices and kept fully stocked.
As a Gold Card holder, I've stayed at quite a few of the Best Western Hotels. This one is one that is highly recommended. I know I will be returning! What a wonderful staff. My room was clean, bright, and it is a friendly place to stay. Thank you for providing me with an excellent experience.
We checked in really late on Friday night. The woman who checked us in was very nice and assured us that because one of our parties would have to switch rooms during our stay that she would make sure that it would be done for us seamlessly- AND IT WAS!!! That was FANTASTIC!! Everyone was very nice!! The breakfast staff! The place was beautiful and clean! The beds were comfortable!
Overall the hotel is average. We are rewards members and tend to stay at BW when we can. The room was clean, but the bed was way too firm for us. There were noisy people upstairs of us that we almost had to call the office on before they finally quieted down. So from that you tell that sound carries here. Breakfast was what you expect. There is absolutely no good dining in the area. Travel to Visalia for any dining.
Very nice place to stay IF you are able to get a reservation. The site is relatively small and books up quickly, especially during the summer months. Fortunately, the tourists have gone and I'm able to stay there with no problem.
We could not believe how clean this hotel was. You would think it was brand new. The only down side was the pool was to cold. Other then that if you want clean and comfort this is the place for you! The breakfast was nicely displayed and well maintained
We stayed here for one night and found very good with all the facilties like micowave, Fridge, Ironing Table with iron, even cloth drying cord. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was freindly. Breakfast was good.
This facility provided for a very nice stay coming out of Kings National Forest and Sequoia National Park. The staff was friendly and responsive, and provided good information on the local restaurants which were fairly close and provided an adequate dinner. The facility's rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.
This is a very clean and friendly place to stay. If you stay here, be sure to check out the town, really neat murals. The town is very nice and friendly. This was our second stay here, in April we were here for the Three Rivers Jazz Festival, this time we came back to just enjoy the town and the other places to visit. We will be back again in April.
My wife and I recently stayed here for two nights while visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The hotel is located just out of the business area in Exeter, so, it is fairly close to services and stores (although preferable to drive). The rooms seemed to be fairly new, and they were clean, nice sized, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The included hot / cold breakfast was pretty much the standard fare for Best Western. The location was approximately 28 miles from Sequoia NP with about a 40 minutes drive via CA-198. TV and wi-fi services worked well. Of the BW 6 hotels where we stayed during our trip, I would rate this the best, and would definitely stay there again.
I was in the area for a wedding. Check in and check out was great. Staff was super friendly and helpful, even gave me toothpaste upon request. Room was sparkling clean and smelled fresh. The mattress was amazingly comfortable as well as the pillows. The breakfast was listed as "continental" but they had hot eggs and waffles in addition to a plentiful selection of the normal continental menu. Coffee was strong and fresh. Didn't use the pool but it looked very clean. Overall I think this was the best Best Western hotel I have ever stayed at. 4 Stars!
We stayed here for an early start to Sequoia. The room was very clean and comfortable if a little 'business' for a casual stay. We used the pool and spa which was a nice place to cool off and relax after a long day driving. Breakfast was also good, plenty of options to choose from. There is a gym too with treadmills and bikes.
