The hotel is an attractive building in a good location with free car parking. On arrival we were warmly greeted at reception and given the key to our room which was a Superior at the front of the hotel. The room was absolutely spotless, had tea-coffee making facilities and free safe. The bed was very large and very comfortable with high quality bed linen. The was a huge new flat screen TV and a very well equipped bathroom with hairdryer, toiletries etc. The bathroom looked to be brand new with fresh tiles and fittings. Breakfast was good, generally of continental style but with the addition of scrambled eggs, nice chipolata sausages lovely fresh bread and freshly squeezed juices. There is also an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub. A small selection of new gym equipment can also be used all free of charge too. There is a bar with a sun terrace which we made very good use of in the lovely weather, just off the bar there is a pool table and snooker table. We found it a pleasure to spend time using the hotel facilities and in particular the bar. The hotel's location is about a 15 min walk to the magnificent beach at Trouville and a 20 min walk to the beach at Deaville. Deauville with all its designer shops, racetrack and beach is an easy walk across the river bridge. The hotel is very close to all the bars and restaurants that line the road that leads to the beach in Trouville. A great place to stay that I would recommend to anyone.
Great little hotel situated about 5 minutes gentle walk from the quai waterfront promenade where all the restaurants etc are located. Hotel has a private, free car park ( you can leave the car for the weekend and easily walk into both Deauville and Trouville). Corinne, the general manager runs a quaint residence, typically Normand seaside hotel with decorated bedrooms in soft pastel colors (large compared to Paris hotels), a well stocked buffet breakfast (fresh squeezed orange juice), excellent cheese platter, good fresh baked bread, brioches and pastries. After all this good food at breakfast and the seafood/fish restaurants in the evening, one can workout/workoff the calories in the gym or swim a few lengths in the indoor heated swimming pool. The pool was quiet when we were there so we enjoyed not only the pool but the jacuzzi as well. There is a sauna but we didn't use this. The friendly staff at reception and the breakfast room made the stay very enjoyable (giving good recommendations for restaurants to eat at in the evening ) , always a friendly smile/hello as we made our way to and from the hotel. There are bicycles to rent from the hotel if you wish. The BW Hostellerie du Vallon is an unpretentious 4 Star hotel , a perfect little getaway, well located for the Brits arriving in Le Havre, or honfleur and those guests wishing to use it as a base to visit Normandy and its historic beaches. Definitely would stay here again.
This is a wonderful hotel tucked away in the back streets of Trouville with plenty of parking. ( good for Trouville) Good helpful reception,a very nice room with a view and balcony, good bar available at all times. Small but good indoor swimming pool. Easy walk from the main town, we will certainly return soon.
Excellent location for seeing Trouville and Deauville. Rooms are well maintained and clean but possibly a little dated. Hotel has all the facilities you need. Breakfast was good value. Being critical the reception staff need to be more friendly. Milk for tea and coffee seemed to be an issue when asking for it daily. Not sure why they cannot just put some pots in the room.
We have stayed here many times in the late autumn and they maintain their standards. Convenient to the town and its interesting restaurants, good breakfast, comfortable room - although wardrobe rather small, pleasant balcony. We did not use the pool and spa this time. This year they have introduced room service meals which are brought in from elsewhere. We didn't try them, but another resident said they weren't very good.
We were very happy with the choice of this hotel. Parking available right outside. Clean, practical rooms with a little balcony. Good breakfast. Nice social areas both in-/outside and lots to do including a spa/training section, pool-tables and a well equipped play-room for the kids. The hotel is very centrally located with a short walk to the branch as well as both Trouville and Dauville including the many restaurants in those areas. Well recommended!
We stayed two nights on our round-trip of France, and very much enjoyed the stay. Our teenagers especially appreciated the pool, mini-gym (would need to get some free weights, though), sauna, and the billiard room. Rooms are nicely furnished and adequate. Try to get a room looking out over the city rather than the back yard, even though that was OK too. Location is excellent if you want to explore Trouville and nearby Deauville, both walking distance, and it is very close to the many restaurants in Trouville. Breakfast is adequate with no major surprises, but we all left full this morning despite having very different tastes in breakfast. Finally, people in the reception were very nice and helpful, which is not always the case in France :) Recommended!
We stayed here for 3 nights for a big birthday. The positives - we arrived off the overnight ferry at about 8am and were able to get into our room straight away, for which we were very grateful. The hotel is easy to find (I was a first time driver on the continent and was worried about this) and has lots of parking. It's very convenient for the town centre, and the beach and Deauville are easy walking distance too. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet, looked out over a small garden then on to adjoining properties. And the wifi is probably the best I have ever had in a hotel. And now the not so good... as I said we got into the room at 8am which was great - but while the bedroom had been cleaned, the bathroom had not. Used towels, a full bin, sand and hair in the bath, lipstick on a glass. We had to ask twice at reception to get it cleaned and even then we got clean towels and the bin emptied but had to deal with the glass and the bath ourselves. Now to be fair, when we checked out they didn't charge us for a couple of glasses of champagne, but frankly I would have preferred a clean bathroom. We weren't overly impressed with the breakfast buffet although only visited it once; the fruit salad looked a bit weary, the coffee machine was out of water and the member of staff wasn't rushing to fill it up again. The worst bit of all though was outwith the control of the hotel and so we don't blame them for it, but the extensive and noisy lovemaking of the young French couple in the room next door was a regular interruption day and night, they were still at it when we left so I hope for the sake of the next inhabitants of room 221 they were checking out that day...
Very nice hotel, located 15 minutes a way from the beach. Very clean rooms ,good mattresses and nice stuff. At first we wanted to change our room ,because i have allergies to cleaning products, the stuff were very helpful and we got a room that was good and we were happy. Also we traveled with to small dogs and they are dog friendly hotel . We enjoyed our stay there ,the parking was fre as well.
The hotel had been completely refurbished. Our bedroom was delightful in lavendar with silver wooden furniture and lavendar/grey/white tiles. The bed was comfortable and the shower was one of the best I have used outside of my own home. There was a small balcony but the boundary was solid so when sitting on the balcony we could not see out. Breakfast was good but basic and could have had more variety. The dining room was large and looked inviting. It would have been good for evening meals although they do not offer them. They seemed to be working on a minimum number of staff. There was no-one in attendance in the breakfast room although the receptionist made the coffee and took our order. What staff we saw were very friendly.
Welcome staff, nice big rooms, beautiful buffet breakfast with good selection. Large car park which is free, unusual in this area. Myself and my partner have been staying at this hotel twice a year for the past six years and we have never been disappointed. On arrival, we park the car, check in and within minutes walk in to Trouville and enjoy the atmosphere and a seafood lunch at the restaurant Le Noroit on the quayside. Deauville is another five minutes walk away where all the nice shops are.
This is the 5th Trouville hotel we've tried, and it seems to be the best combination. The building is either new or recently remodeled: everything is fresh and proper, no faded paint or worn carpeting or nonfunctioning appliances. The housekeeping is efficient, and the breakfast buffet is well done. We've already made a reservation for our next visit. One extra of note is that the lobby areas of the hotel, the bar, game room, and indoor pool are well-maintained and available if the weather outside isn't very good. Another plus is that the free WiFi works properly.
We stayed at this hotel because it had free parking which is a bonus in Trouville where parking is difficult and costly. The room was cosy, clean and had a balcony overlooking the town. The bathroom was a good size and there was space to hang clothes and used towels. Breakfast was a buffet breakfast with plenty to choose from and some local products in a pleasant room. We used the small pool which was refreshing after a days sightseeing. There is also a very small gym, a sauna, steamroom and showers by the pool. Situated a short uphill walk from the bridge that goes between Deauville and Trouville it is ideally placed to explore both towns. Although quite a walk back from the beach in both towns. The staff were friendly and helpful especially on reception, although we were disappointed to be charged when requesting extra teabags for the room..
very well located hotel, close to the city centre. you can leave our car and explore evrything on foot. nice and spacious room, well equipped with bath. good spa facilities with swimming pool, hammam ans sauna.
This hotel is good value for the money but not outstanding . A bit impersonal but clean and tidy and free parking , which gets a little difficult over weekends. We had a side Superior room. The bed was big, but the mattress rather over-firm and the pillows were hard and lumpy. Bring your own! Also, no comfortable chairs to sit in and a rather dark outlook . The balcony furniture was basic, not great for relaxation . The location is convenient for the restaurants /shops, but a bit of a walk to get to the beach. The swimming pool looked clean and nice , but not somewhere we spent any time in ourselves. Another small gripe was the tiny towels and no milk being offered with the hospitality tray of teas and coffees. The room service menu was curious and had virtually no choice. Not really suited to children's tastes and I suspect only there at all in order to 'tick a box'.
Just a walk down the road and you are on the seafront and close to the bridge to Deauville and the harbour. The Hotel is quiet, no road or guest noise. Breakfast catered for all tastes, not slow, as others had remarked . Had the swimming pool and jacuzzi , sauna and steam room all to ourselves lovely! There was also fitness room again empty. Another room housed a pool and billiard tables, next door table tennis and 2 PlayStations. The other bonus a free car park. We will definitely be back.
Stayed for one night in mid-May. It was a very nice hotel that was centrally located to the town and beaches. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The bar was small but accommodated our group, even after hours!
Stayed over for one night in pre-season. Stayed there before. It's a little frayed around the edges but rooms were bright and very clean. Hotel was quite empty and and is run on a shoestring (reception doubles as bar service). We found the price for a smallish room pre-season for 150 euro a bit too steep. Heavy thunderstorms and downpour marooned us in the hotel at 8:30 pm and they did not have umbrellas on loan..
Turning on to the car park, my jaw dropped. It's an amazing looking hotel, rooms are great and grounds are lovely, location to the town and Deauville are an easy walk. Food is a plenty in the two twins that spread along the river. The only down side to the hotel is that it's souless. There seemed to be nothing drawing to want you stay in it food or drink wise. But that wasn't a problem with an abundance of both so near by
Very nice hotel in a swiss chalet style in Trouville, short walk 10 mins to a load of fish restaurants. And Trouville beach. Also short walk to Douville shopping and the beach. Great stop off place - a lot of development round the marina looks like it will be very nice in a few years
We spent 2 nights at this hotel with another couple at the occasion of New Year's eve. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but really small for a 4 star hotel. Very convenient location at walking distance from a lot of restaurants and from Trouville beach. A bit further from donwtown Dauville. We regretted that no inside restaurants were available though. Also we were disappointed by the fitness facilities, quite rudimentary for a 4 star hotel. To end on a good note, breakfast was to our satisfaction and staff really nice and pleasant. So all in all, an average impression for the price paid
We arrived after a very long journey and although we were four hours ahead of when are room would be ready, they had already prepared our room knowing that we would like to rest after such a journey. How about that for service! The room was very comfortable, the swimming pool small but acceptable but the car park could be congested ar times.
We love this hotel. It is great value and the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The kids love the pool and sauna area and really love the breakfast. It is well located, a short walk from the town centre and harbour. We can't fault it really and will definitely go back next year.
This calm and charming hotel satisfied all my needs during my business stay. Tasty breakfast, cosy bed, and relatively nice reception service. I also had a balcony (311). The only lowlight is strong air conditioning in the bathroom. I would also add more vegetarian warm dishes to the breakfast menu.
On arrival at the hotel you cannot help but admire the building. The rooms are lovely with their own balcony. The benefit of its own car par in what is a very busy sea side town. The hotel does lack any ambience as there seems to be no interface on entering the reception area and walking to the lift. Working out the food system in the buffet is not as easy as one would expect either. But overall a very nice place. And would return again without hesitation
The hotel is located at back of the town with a free car park which has a slope, can be congested when hotel is full. The premises are immaculate including the room and bathroom. We had no problem noise. Leisure Centre has a small pool but adiquite you have to ask reception to switch on the steam room and sauna which is normal in a small hotel. Did not use the bar found it very expensive. Breakfast was limited but adiquite. The down side is the location if you have a hip or knee problem with a up or down walk, it is a 10 minute walk to the resturaints 20 to the beech. Free WiFi
Located a bit of a walk from the beach, this hotel is good as the centre of town was very busy to drive through. It has its own car park which got very full, with people double parking everywhere. It is up a hill but I would rather walk than drive! Our room was on the 2nd floor and had a balcony which got the sun in the afternoon/evening. Good size but with no air conditioning. It was very hot so we asked for a fan from reception, which although was noisy, cooled us down at night. A safe was in the wardrobe. The pool area was very nice and much needed after a few days around the D day sights. The steam room and sauna where off when we went, we needed to ask reception before we went down. The spa bath only seemed to work on one setting (might just be me) but was nice. Didn't use the gym but looked good. The bar was very quiet when we where there, but was nice with pool and billiards, a tv and an outside part. A 15 minute walk to the beach and 5 mins to the start of the restaurants. The main road is just places to eat. Lots of choice! Breakfast was a good choice, ok coffee which they brought out to you but the sugar was on the main table. Had to remember to bring some with me when I got my food. Bit strange. A very good hotel, great location. No air con is a shame. Would give 4.5 if i could.
We had a wonderful 4-night stay here recently. We went for a superior room which was well worth worth it - really spacious with a balcony, enormous bed, large bathroom. Breakfasts were great; pool was a bit small but enough for a refreshing dip every day. I am a light sleeper but found the hotel very quiet at night, sound proofing seemed to work extremely well. The only problem was, well, the seagulls, which scream all night sometimes. There was no air con but I really liked being able to open the window at night; I hadn't known that seagulls don't sleep at all. Despite that I did sleep well. Loved this clean comfy and well-run hotel.
My first impression was that the hotel looked excellent. Very stylish and clean. We paid for an upgrade to a superior room. The room itself was large, clean and modern and had a nice little balcony. However my experience thereafter was a let down. Our shower was broken - there was no temperature control. It was only scalding hot and impossible to use without hurting yourself. We had been travelling all day and it was hot so we needed cool showers. We reported it to reception who came to look and said they couldn't do anything until the next day. We were only staying one night. We asked for another room but were told the hotel was full but we could use the swimming pool showers. Not great that we couldn't shower in our room given we paid for a room upgrade. The shower was not really fixed the next day. We were able to shower in a less hot temperature but there was still no temperature control so we couldn't adjust it to anything else but very hot. Early in the morning the fire alarm went off waking us from our sleep. The staff had seemed to have overcooked the breakfast pastries. So we couldn't shower and our sleep was disturbed. There was no apology about the fire alarm and no staff came up to the 3rd floor to assist the disabled person who could not walk down the stairs. The breakfast was overpriced at €16 each. Much of the food took some time to be replenished when it ran out and the choice wasn't great. No one staffed the bar and often there wasn't anyone on reception. Overall, the hotel had potential but was poorly managed.
We got here after a long journey - it's difficult to find, but that's not unusual in the narrow French streets and not a fault. Parking was a disaster, the car park is just not big enough. The bedroom I had, which was an upgrade was very nice with a huge comfortable bed, lovely pillows. I had a balcony although the view was nothing special. Spectacularly clean - which is always a bonus. The breakfast was a typically continental affair with quite a good choice. So all in all, so far so good. However, although there is a bar there is not a member of staff to man it, so you have to walk through to reception to find someone to serve and the member of staff on duty the two nights we were there was not ok, but lacking a bit in "mein host" qualities. Of course, the one thing which is ALWAYS missing is a decent cup of tea, even in an expensive hotel. I wouldn't criticise the hotel for the noise the seagulls made, but it does mean that you have the balcony door open and the gulls wake you up, or you have it close and it's quite but much too hot - some air conditioning would be good!
I stayed at this hotel with a Road Scholar D-Day tour. The hotel is off the main road and accessible by foot or car not bus but luggage was handled by the hotel from the bus and back. I found the rooms neat and clean with nice balconies. I did find it awkward to have turn on stairwell lights. The breakfast was buffet and had good selections. The restaurant was good but it was about a 10 minute walk to the seaside restaurants and these are superb.
We enjoyed two nights here on a trip to Normandy. Our room was a good size; clean and bright. The internet worked well with minimum difficulty logging in. We had a good breakfast with helpful staff who dealt with our special requests. The hotel was nice and quiet at night. Easy access to the things we came to do in Trouville/Deauville. Would stay here again. Not a scenic location but practical. Bathroom amenities not as good as other places we stayed on this trip. Parking was easier than with other hotels. Overall, good value for money and a pleasant place to stay.
