Our bed was very very comfortable, clean room and fine breakfast; quiet room even if facing the street; 5 minute walk from Porta Nuova Main railway station. Close to restaurants and bistrot, close to the very centre of town. I would recommend it, definitely.
Prices absolutely out of range for the quality of the hotel and the service offered; 160 euros per night for a very small single room, with no decent table, and no space for a normal suitcase. The hotel is poky, for instance in the morning the small corridors are cramped by vacuum cleaners, bags and the service ladies' trolleys. The worst was the air conditioning/heating system, which seemed to work in full autonomy, without possibility to control it, and taking the temperature down to 17 degrees (it was mid october). We asked help at the reception and the receptionist's answer was very rude.
The room had a brilliant view from the terrace. Clean, lovely bed, nice bathroom.......Was so easy to visit all the places we wanted, knowing the hotel was so close to the station, and metro. The staff were helpful and always polite
Stayed here for five nights, and very happy with our choice. Convenient for the main station, and with a bus stop right outside, it was easy to get anywhere. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a balcony to sit out on. Great shower in the bathroom. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Would definitely choose it again.
Very good value, great location and top-notch staff. The breakfast was considerably more than expected, with friendly and helpful attendants. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone looking to have a good experience, with an eye to a budget.
Only a 5 minute walk from the train station and 15-20 minute walk into the main attractions in Torino. The staff was super-friendly, the price was great, and there was even a refrigerator in the room, which I didn't expect. The room was clean and modern. If we return to Torino, I would definitely stay here again.
Great overnight stay. Sadly we had an early flight so had to rush the breakfast as quite a bit of choice. Our room was on the 6th floor and was very spacious. View of Street and hills beyond. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Easy walk to get the airport bus. Last but not least reasonably priced
We stayed several times before in the Luxor Hotel and decided to return again. From the hotel , it's a five minute walk to the Porta Nuova and the main train station. An advantage is its own underground parking garage. Rooms are comfortable and clean and have a TV, A/C, minibar, coffee / tea making facilities and free WiFi and in our case, a private terrace. Breakfast usually is pretty good value for money, however, due to corona it was a bit limited this time. Staff is friendly and helpful.
We stayed before in the Luxor Hotel and decided to return again. The hotel is well located, a five minute walk to the Porta Nuova and the main train station. From our point of view, a major advantage of this hotel is its own underground parking garage (outside the ZLT-Limited Traffic Zone). The rooms are comfortable and clean and have a TV, air conditioning, minibar, coffee / tea making facilities and free WiFi and in our case, a private balcony. Breakfast is pretty good as well. I guess that the value for money is very good. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Stayed here for 5 nights in September. We were lucky enough to get room 701 which had a great terrace with views over the city and alps with a table and chairs which made our stay special. Room itself was a good size for a hotel of this type and well appointed. Hotel is well situated near station and just over 10 minutes to city centre. Plenty of public transport access around the hotel meant full access to the whole city was easy. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was efficient and room was always spotless. Breakfast might be a weak point, but at 3 euros a day it is still excellent value. Would both recommend and come back here.
Good check in, rooms nice and clean only stayed for two nights so ideal, 15 minutes walk to the train station and 20 minutes walk to the town, parked here so there was a cost, Breakfast was average, hotel staff really nice and helpful but would stay if we returned to Turin.
We stayed in the hotel for only 1 night but basically it wad okay. The breakfast is not wow, especially in the cheese department but again, nice hotel, clean, free wifi, good location, small balcony... If it's just a place to sleep at night, it's great
Hotel is a bit old with limited amenities. The beds were not very comfortable but was okay for a few nights. The location to restaurants, cafe's and most the sites was a short 10 min walk. Parking was pricey but convenient and the staff were helpful.
We chose a room on the top floor, which turned out to be a corner room so great views of Turin and the Alps. Lovely french doors to the balcony. The room was large and clean with a massive bathroom. We were able to park the car at the hotel for a fee.
Hotel is situated very conveniently nearby the Train station, just a walk for some 4-5 minutes, good choice for train-travelers. Our room on the upper floor was large, with balcony, morning sun and a sideview to the Alps. Good sleeping quality, quiet on night in the neighborhood. Rather comfortable stay, good breakfast in a smaller breakfast-room, friendly and helpful staff. A walking distance to the city's most important monuments (of course, there are also a lots of hotels in the area much more near to the for ex. Egyptian museum), but we were happy to stay here. Overall, in our opinion, it was difficult to find a place for lunch in the city, a lots of them open only after 7-7,30, but it is of course a question of habit and taste. And a suggestion: do not stay for hours in the line for entrance to Mole Antonelliana (in time of our visit there was queue for 4,5 hours), there is a much better place to see whole the Torino from above, with beautiful view to the river Po and majestic Alps - visit the park near catholic church of Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, lying bathing in the greenery on the other side of the river, you not going to be disappointed, see my pictures here.
We stayed a few days in Turin but we knew this hotel yet. This time we tried a room at the last floor and we appreciated the great room and the balcony with a fantastic view of the city. Good price and a friendly staff will bring us again in this hotel
The rooms were clean and reasonably spacious. We had a couple of problems that were sorted out immediately by the front desk. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is basic but very good value at 3 euros. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room at the back as louder street noise (horns etc) filters through. Very conveniently located for main station and not far from restaurants and bars. Lovely wine shop 200 metres just down from hotel (left as you exit) where you can taste local piedmont wines & have a small snack. Unfortunately we stayed at a peak time with a big European football match, so the hotel was overpriced for its rating - but then so would every other hotel in Turino have been. Looking at its current tariff, it's good value.
Situated just a few minutes' walk from Torino Porta Nuova, the Luxor was exactly what we have come to expect from a Best Western Hotel. A nice, large bedroom was perfect for one night and we would certainly return if the need arose.
I almost gave this hotel quite a bad review. The first room we were given was cramped and hot and while the air conditioner didn't produce cool air, the sink didn't produce hot water. We went to ask to pay for a room upgrade but luckily the concierge recommended we try a different room at the same price level. What a difference! The second room was much larger, had a bigger, nicer bathroom with hot water and was cooler than the other room. Once in the second room, I would say this hotel is quite good for the price. In other words, it really depends what room you're given. The breakfast was reasonable. If you like pastries, those are quite nice, but there need to be some healthier options (the only fruit option is canned fruit salad in sugar water and the only cereal options were sugary and chocolaty cornflake things). The location is quite convenient for trains, but less convenient for main sites and restaurants. Internet was nice and fast.
We arrived by Train from Rome (Frecciarossa) & needed a room close to both train stations as we were travelling on to Paris by train. After arriving at Torino Porta Nuova Railway Station we managed to walk to the Hotel with our bags, just a short distance. Checked in & were given a room on the top floor which had views across Turin. The room had a deck/balcony with a table & 2 chairs. The room was adequate for a one night stay & had all the amenities that you would expect in a Best Western Hotel. We checked out in early in the morning so did not sample the provided breakfast. The cab arrived on time & took us to Torino Porta Susa where we caught the Train to Gare du Lyon, Paris. I have attached a screen shot of the WiFi in this Hotel done with SpeedTest, the results are not startling but provided basic emails only, would not support iPhone Facetime, not enough bandwidth on the top floor. Check my Photo's of the room for a better evaluation.
After being here three years ago, we decided to return. The hotel is situated well, at the edge of the Turin's historic centre and close to the Railway Station. From our point of view, a huge advantage of this hotel is the private underground car park. Rooms are comfortable and clean and have a TV, A/C, minibar, coffee-/tea making facilities and free Wifi. Breakfast is good as well, no complaints at all. Staff is friendly and helpful.
We were at the hotel for 2 nights, it was very comfortable, rooms very clean and nice, good location if arriving by train, a little bit far from the centre, but still we walked ther , about 15 minutes. The breakfast was very good and the satff very helpful ( specially Francesco) I recomend this hotel
It is worth the money. Location is near the train station. Just a few blocks away to go to some tourist spots. Hotel is renovated and the room is good enough with comfy bed and a nice view if on higher floor. The room is spaceous. Restaurants has a nice breakfast buffet and their manager is nice too with children. I recommend this hotel.
I had given a room on the 6th floor. Looked like a suite. Amazing I was speachless. Amazing staff amazing room. I could see even the Mole from my balcony. Yes I had an amazing balcony on the 6th floor! Thank you so much guys you made my Tiring and exhausting week. Thank you! Will def come back
We stayed one night in room 707. Lovely balcony view within easy flat walking distance to everything. Bathroom was immaculate and room size was great. Check in went smoothly. Breakfast was disappointing, Sale of Nespresso machines (instant coffee) in Italy should be forbidden.
Spent two nights in Hotel Luxor a few days ago and found it to be well located for central Turin attractions. Parking is available in its underground carpark (fee applies) and the hotel is within walking distance of most of the central city. Buses and trams are almost outside the front door. The main railway station is about one block away. Breakfast was available for 3 Euros, which is excellent value, and included good espresso coffee.
Turin was my first stop in a cycling trip through Italy. This meant I had to get my bike sent to the hotel ahead of my arrival. I emailed the hotel beforehand to arrange this and they were very accommodating, agreeing to sign for the package and store it safely for me. Leonardo, who works on reception, is really friendly and speaks especially good english. The breakfast is worth the extra money if you are on a budget, as you can eat a lot for a very low cost. It is fairly basic but there is a good selection of things. The location is great; very central, right by the main train station. Overall I would recommend.
I went to spend a weekend with my sister. We shared an enormous room with a king size bed. The spa hour was great. I really enjoyed and the receptionists were very nice. The breakfast is far the best !!! Though... everything was excellent :)
I booked a family suite which had a small balcony and a view of the street. The room was nice and modern actually, and quite spacious. The bathroom was nice and big as well. The breakfast was not too bad and the location was close to the train station. Overall it was definitely better than what I had expected.
This is a very comfortable hotel. We booked a standard room, which was quite large and well equipped, with a large ensuite and a balcony. The bed was very comfortable and the room really quiet. It was equipped with a kettle and a couple of small cups. Wifi connection was quick and stable. The breakfast was substantial with a good choice. My only criticism is that the reception staff were pretty dozy. On check in, we were told that we were booked on a room only basis, whereas we had paid in advance for the bed and breakfast rate. The receptionist quickly corrected herself when we pointed this out. On the second day of our three night stay, the television failed. We reported this to reception, but nothing was done about it. We complained about this when checking out, and the receptionist agreed that this should have been dealt with. On the positive side, the hotel is very well situated, just a few minutes walk from Porta Nuova railway station and the terminus for the airport bus. The main tourist attractions (Palazzo Reale etc) are an easy thirty minutes walk through the shopping arcades. There are a few restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel; I would particularly recommend Ristorante La Conca in Via Assietta for the quality of food and reasonable price. All together, I recommend Hotel Luxor, notwithstanding the charming but lackadaisical reception staff.
What a great surprise to see how close the hotel was to the railroad station and to see it had a jacuzzi to relax the tired feet after walking all around the tree-lined city. Desk personnel were always helpful 24 hours a day with recommendations from where to find a computer plug that fit the sockets to a tasty restaurant and what the best local offering is. Another big plus is the Ottimo Gelator just across the street!!! When lots of italians register for this hotel you as a tourist know that it's a good one - good coffee and croissants for breakfast then out and about from this convenient location.
As the title suggests, we moved rooms after the first night. The first room we were given smelt of cigarette smoke. This seemed to be coming from the next door room, it was horrible. First thing the next morning we spoke to reception, assuming we had somehow been allocated a smoking room. We were told the hotel is entirely non-smoking, but the very helpful lady on reception immediately offered us a change of room anyway. Well, what a difference! I'm fairly sure it wasn't an upgrade as the room was the same size and very similar in layout, but it was so much nicer, brighter, lighter and far, far less cigarette smoke (we did get a tiny bit, but not enough to worry about this time). In the second room the air con was switched on, it was off in the first room (it was March and many hotels seem not to turn their air con on until much later in the year). This may have been because the second room faced the road and it was therefore too noisy to sleep with the window open. We definitely needed either air con or an open window, the rooms, both of them, were far too warm for us otherwise. If you prefer a warmer room, you'd be fine. The hotel is a bit dated in its decor, well the two rooms we stayed in were, but it is clean and the location is great. Easy to walk to the centre and with loads of good restaurants on the doorstep. My main commendation though is the staff, they were wonderful, all of them. We would stay here again, but we'd be choosy about the room we were given.
Stayed for 3 nights in a superior room with terrace on the 7th floor. The room was spacious and very well equipped as was the bathroom. All the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The Reception staff were great. A very good breakfast with quality produce which, for us, lacked nothing. Would definitely stay again.
We were in this hotel for 2 nights. It's located 10 minutes walk from the train station Porta Nuova, but something like 25 minutes by foot from the centre. The surroundings are empty from bars and restaurant so you should be prepared to walk a little bit when coming back in the evenings. The hotel is nice, even if they still register your documents at the beginning of your stay, something that other hotel chains I have fidelity cards did not, maybe is the policy of BW. Poor information leaflet on Torino. Room was huge, so was the bathroom, clean and new. We had no breakfast there so I can't say. Free and good wifi.
Great hotel, near to the city center, with high speed wi fi connection and cheap buffet breakfast. Highly recommended ! My room were on the sixth floor and the views were amazing ! Coffee & tea in the room!
We stayed here on business and will come back to stay if/when we come back to Turin. Nothing was too much trouble. We had to print off documents and scan some information, again all was done with a smile and efficiency. Local maps were supplied and information about the buses and tram were explained. We had a nice double room which was clean and functional. Breakfast was good with a reasonable range of food. However the best thing about this hotel is the service of the staff. Really exceptional!
During a pleasure trip to Turin, we stayed at the BEST WESTERN Hotel Luxor, conveniently located near the main train station (Porta Nuova). Each member of the staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended and reserved two very good local restaurants. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The included breakfast was very good. We recommend the hotel for the budget-minded traveler and we will return there when next we visit Turin. Plus, the view of the alps from the top floor was amazing.
Great location near the main station and 10 mins walk to the hustle and bustle of Via Roma in Turin. The staff are friendly and attentive - the rooms are reasonably priced - spotlessly clean and very comfortable with free Wifi. There is plenty of parking in a basement with secure access. The breakfast is great value and a good start to the day!
The negatives: The triple room that they gave us was not like the one we have seen on Booking.com's website when we made the reservation. They gave us a Double room with an extra bed... :( It was not comfortable at all for 3 adults. The positives : Breakfast was really good for a 3 stars hotel and has a very reasonable price.. (3 euros). Most of the staff was great.
Hotel location is great. To visit main attractions you can walk five to ten minutes. Your car can stay in hotel garage. Room was clean, bathroom was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is acceptable.
I have stayed at this hotel three time in the past while visiting family in the Turin area. The rooms are spacious and reasonably priced. Very convenient to the Porto Nuova train station and the Turin Metro. The rooms on the seventh floor all have spacious verandas with excellent city views. The breakfast was very good. The staff are all very responsive to service requests.
I stayed in this hotel with my wife on 2nd of august 2016.Nice hotel. conveniently located.Staff was really friendly.Rooms are clean and comfortable for the price we paid.Breakfast was also good.plenty of selection. No noise outside
Location is excellent, near Porta Nova. Hotel staff were very useful and friendly. Room is big... cleaning every day. I had bacon (no.604), but you must know that there are room without bacon. Breakfast is very good if you are stay there couple of days (there are ham, eggs, sweets....), but if you stay longer period of time breakfast could became terrible because it is every day the same. I was three weeks and every day was exactly the same. So, my suggestion for hotel, change something from time to time.
I was a bit concerned that this would feel like a chain hotel, but in fact it was lovely. Room relatively spacious, and a huge bathroom. The decor was nice, although a fair bit of dark wood, and well double-glazed so quiet despite the central location. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The hotel has its own car park, at 16E/night, but as it was Sunday night we were able to street-park nearby without any problem.
Atmosphere of this hotel is lacking, just a big, typical business hotel; the reception was handled by people in suits. Good for just a short stay. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were sufficient. Breakfast was pretty good. Enough space to sit.
I needed a hotel for one night after traveling from Florence and before leaving for Amsterdam the next day. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the main train station and easy to find. I was warmly welcomed by Sandra. My room was nice and had a lovely balcony and jacuzzi bath - perfect after a long day of travel! The room was comfortable and clean and a perfect spot for an overnight stop.
Turin is a large city with a lot of traffic. Driving to the Hotel was however easy as it`s location near the main train station is very accessible. It has its own underground garage which was very convenient. The room was average and the breakfast was basic, but the Hotel is very near the city centre and this is the best plus it has. Remember that the city centre is traffic restricted and so it is best to view it on foot. The Palazzo Reale, Egyptian Museum and the Cinema Museum are within walking distance but to reach the Museo del Automobile it is best to take the efficient underground which is a stone`s throw away. There are quite a good number of good restaurants in the area as well. The service is impeccable. All in all I enjoyed staying in this hotel.
The staff was extremely helpful and will make you feel at home. The hotel location is very good and safe... not far from one of the major plazas (Piazza Costello). I would not hesitate staying there again.
Hotel is very clean and spacious. Bathrooms are clean and big. Rooms have coffee making facilities. The hotel is only 5 mins away from train station porta nuova and 10mins away from the centre. Highly recommend the hotel. Price is reasonable.
Stayed for 2 nights and had two nights of very little sleep. No soundproofing at all here every noise is echoed everywhere. People shouting and banging at 3am and the staff slamming doors constantly from 6am onwards. On top of this the air con wasn't working but according to the receptionist it is not allowed in Italy anymore. Glad it wasn't summer the room was hot enough in April. Disappointing
I stayed one night at this hotel and I truly enjoyed my stay. The staff was great at check-in, they assisted me with the wifi, and were able to lend me a converter for my laptop. I do wish breakfast was included in the stay and not an additional 3 Euros because in the states breakfast at the Best Western's are usually included. Other then that breakfast was really good, I was pleased at the buffet bar. Checking out was also easy and the staff had a cab to take me to the train station in less then five minutes. I would stay again if I ever visit Torino, Italy.
Excellent stay at BW Luxor. Nice clean hotel very close to Porta Nuova station - room nice, clean and comfortable, breakfast good. Reception staff were very helpful and Turin is a good city to explore. Visit the Mole to get fantastic panoramic views of the city. Overall no problems.
Stayed here for one night. Hotel is basic but well equipped. Breakfast was lovely and free wifi offered. Good location for Porto Nuovo station (10 min walk). Great value compared to other hotels in the area.
A very convenient location - just a 3 minute walk to Porta Nuova train station & walking distance to all attractions. Rooms are pretty small - but decent with amenities like wifi , coffee maker , refrigerator etc Breakfast included & was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room & furniture look dated , no access card and no lounge at Reception. A nice choice overss
Nice and welcoming hotel with a great staff although sound insulation is VERY BAD and you can hear people taking a shower! This is not the fault of the staff but the day we slept there there was a removal van which was doing so much noise! The staff made us a discount for that! The breakfast is amazing with a large choice of food for all taste! A lot of gluten-free products and a nice commitment for the planet! Thank you!
Typical Italian Best Western hotel. The rooms are quite spacious and well equipped. Mattresses seem pretty new, so nothing big to complain about. If you want to go into detail and try to complain, then the small TV and leaking shower heads are not ideal but you will get over it. Ground floor is newly refurbished and breakfast room looks great. Breakfast itself is decent but coffee from the machine is quite bad. Elevators are still from the 70s but work perfectly. The hotel is situated right at a big street but the cars outside were never too loud, so nothing to worry about. It is not quite in the city center but a 3 minute walk from Porta Nuova, the main train station, which makes the hotel easily accessible.
Walking distance from Porta Nuova, Staff was very friendly. Room was good sized and had a comfortable bed.Low noise level which helped us rest well. Continental breakfast included in price was a great value. Bus stop conveniently located outside the hotel. We walked about 1.5 miles to the shopping district and the museums. Free Wifi available in the room which was great
Travelling by train we found the hotel easy to locate. Room on first floor which we requested and received was adequate for our short stay of two nights. Likes: Friendly welcome from reception staff which is great when you have had a long day travelling. Quiet room, good A/C and location Dislikes:plastic/paper cups.
All in all, the hotel is very nice. Rooms are spacious and clean although, my room's interior was quite dark. The bathroom was equally as roomy and clean and well equipped with amenities. I stayed in a room at the front of the hotel on the first floor. My room, like all those facing the front, had a small balcony one could step out onto for a relaxing and refreshing breath of fresh air, as well as to observe the hustle and bustle of the busy neighborhood which lie below. Although my room faced a busy street, the noise and activity of the street below did not hinder my sleep or relaxation. The only demerits I would give this hotel are that, upon arrival, the front desk receptionist never informed me where the hotel's restaurant/breakfast room was located or at what time breakfast began in the morning. He would also not allow my friend to come up to my room. The other problem I had with the hotel is that the in room wifi could only be used on one device at a time. In addition to being quite annoying, it's very inconvenient having to keep logging into and out of the hotel's router when simply going from iPhone to laptop.
