Very nice hotel. One of the nicest we've stayed in I would give this a five out of five with a plus. All rooms either had a patio or a balcony. In the lobby there was a machine that made anything from Black Coffee to cappuccinos, lattes hot chocolate and more
Excellent location, excellent customer service. Great breakfast with fresh fruit and all kinds of food. Everyone very nice and it was a very clean hotel. I had a chance to go to Sherman Redwoods and kayak down the Russian River which was an amazing experience.
The mattress could use replacing. The room was nice. Had a ADA room with parking right in front of the door and the back patio door was by the pool. Breakfast was good. Nice area with lots of restaurants. Hotel was nice as was the pool area. There is no hot tub.
Hotel packed with construction workers who were loud and obnoxious. The 1 person who was working would not change our room. Felt unsafe. Room keys didn't work most of the time. Replaced keys at front desk, same problem. Based on other reviews expected better.
This Best Western is actually a motel with outside facing doors which I wasn't crazy about, for safety reasons. When we got in the room, the a/c was off so the room was hot. Took a few hours before it cooled and the a/c made the room smell very musty. Boy my biggest issue with it was that one of the beds had red stuff - I assume - lipstick on one of the fitted sheets. Made me wonder if the sheets from the last guest were changed. The front desk girl brought up a replacement and gave it to us to change. For $800 for two nights, which is what we paid, I would have expected a lot better. Positives - this place has one of the best breakfasts I've ever had - omelets, waffles with berries and whipped cream, cappucino machine, biscuits any gravy - you name it. Nice outside area to eat. Plus, you can't beat the location and EV charging station for electric vehicles. Bottom line, good locale, amenities and breakfast but, at this cost, save your money for something better.
Comfortable, bright and clean room, super comfy beds, shower and view were both great. Hotel has helpful professional staff, great patios and a nice pool. Kara, Shawna and Todd were each helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
My stay was overnight just to catch a flight the next morning at 6:45 AM. My biggest concern was getting to the airport by 5:15 AM. The staff was extremely helpful and reassuring. They ordered my lift for the next day and set me up in the system with Lyft to get confirmations and reminders. When I called down to ask her to eat dinner, they told me exactly a great place to go after asking what kind of food I wanted to eat. The room was extremely clean. Perfect location for the airport. I have zero complaints and recommend staying for especially if you're headed to STS airport .
WE enjoyed our stay at this hotel! the location was great and made it very easy to get downtown. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was better than most and we especially enjoyed all the fresh fruit. The pool area was great and perfect for beating the heat while we were there. The fitness center included a Peleton bike which I enjoyed using. All the staff was very friendly and helpful,
Where to start…. Pulled up outside and first thought was “a BW plus that looks like an older motel that's been converted to a BW?” Then you go into a really nice lobby where the staff couldn't be nicer, especially the GM! How did we know it was the GM you ask? He was wearing a t~shirt that proudly says so. The rooms all have balconies with a view of the interior courtyard which is lush and green, the rooms are nice, beds are comfy and the rest of the room is updated. The shower was a surprise, not the usual weak spray that you have to dance around in to get wet like all the others we've been in. The breakfast room was a big surprise, very clean which is the norm for BW Plus but the amount of variety of foods was the surprising part. I challenge you to find a hotel with this kind of variety, good luck because we've never seen it and we have been in many different hotel chains over the years.
Recently stayed here for an overnight work trip. The hotel was fantastic and located next to several places to eat. Good wifi, very spacious rooms and excellent parking for guests. I would recommend this hotel for work trips and I return regularly now.
Immaculate, quiet, safe, nice lemon scent toiletries, full breakfast. NO NOISY INTRUSIVE HOMELESS, no bedbugs.
This is going to be our new "go-to" hotel in the greater Santa Rosa, CA area! From the moment we walked into the lobby to check in, we felt "at home." We liked the design and cleanliness of our room. We got a really great night's sleep. We appreciated the choices of television programs available on our widescreen television. The breakfast was phenomenal. There were so many healthy choices -- including really good fresh fruit! The breakfast staff kept the room clean and the food and drinks stocked. It was definitely one of the best breakfasts that we've had at any of the hotels that we've stayed at during the past two years. We want to acknowledge the terrific service we received by the staff. Thank you, Sonny. We loved your baseball cap! We appreciated your positivity. Thank you, Santos. We appreciated your professionalism and personableness. Yes, we'll be back for sure!!! Thank you, Best Western Sonoma Winegrower's Inn!!!
Stayed one night with family members who were attending Sonoma University graduation. Staff was very nice and helpful.
We were told by more than one tour guide and rideshare driver that this hotel is the only thing in the vicinity that survived both the 2017 and 2021 fires. I believe it because its pretty old. The rooms are actually quite spacious and have a patio or balcony. we had a suite- double queen and a separate sitting room with fold out bed we didn't use as it looked like it had seen better days. Beds were comfortable and had nice (if a little thin) linens. Bathroom had a bidet seat (not sure if this was because we were given a handicap accessible room or if this is a feature all rooms have?) Biggest issues were a musty carpet smell we couldn't seem to ever get rid of, and key cards that kept malfunctioning. Property was full of families with noisy kids on the weekend, if you are looking for a quite place, this probably isn't it. Free breakfast was good.
A great place to stay. Cookies and coffee were a pleasant treat when I checked in. The breakfast room was mind blowing. I have never seen SO much fresh fruit at a hotel breakfast. Great job!
Our suite was so spacious, clean and fully stocked with everything I needed to truly relax with my partner. Julian at the front desk was so accommodating and made sure I had everything I needed to make my stay perfect. The jacuzzi tub was so relaxing, it was very large and perfect for my stay. I would 10/10 recommend staying here, it was nice a quiet and the staff was lovely.
Room smelt like a wet dog! The sliding glass door was broken and instead of fixing it correctly, they put a door chain on it so it would stay shut. Anyone could have easily busted right in if they wanted to. Was also very difficult to keep the room warm seeing how the sliding glass door doesn't seal shut.
This Best Western property is well designed and unique. Every room has either a balcony or patio. The design of the building allows privacy from every balcony and patio. Clean and quiet, plenty of space in the room, and parking. Very well suited for my dog as well!
We travel pretty often and the breakfast we had at this hotel was the best we have ever had. Room was clean. We had a room with a private balcony which was really nice. Easy access and lots of restaurants nearby.
The property and my room were very clean. Nice set up for my pet and I with the patio and green space. The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast was self serve and impressive. The dining area was inside and outside seating so my pet could join me. Again, I highly recommend.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past. It was an average BW stay other than loud trucks in the parking lot leaving early. I am also a Diamond BW loyalty member. My 1 star review is for lack of customer service. I called to cancel my stay but was not given a cancellation number. I didn't think anything of it until the charge for my stay showed up on my BW credit card. I emailed the hotel asking them to remove the charge but they refused to do so unless I could give them a cancellation number, which they knew I could not provide as I already told them they never provided a cancellation number. I was told this was their policy - no cancellation number, no refund. Management puts the burden of proof on the customer without consideration for past loyalty or BW status. Management would not even consider that someone at their hotel could have made a mistake. I will not be staying there again. There is another Best Western in Santa Rosa, the Garden Inn, as well as a Best Western in Windsor and Healdsburg that I can support.
Chose to stay here due to the convenient location to the Kaiser here. We drove 31/2 hours for medical are. With the reviews and jacuzzi in the room, we splurged hoping to use the time to relax and plan for our wedding. Instead the people above us overflowed their tub, which in turn flooded our room below!! We called the front desk and explained the situation and we need more towels since ours had been used for clean up. They dropped off an entire bag and walked away. Apparently they must of known they would be needed since it happened again! No call our concern, never given the option to change rooms…nothing!
The staff were very helpfu, breakfast was good and checking in was a great experience. When I mentioned that my wife was having outpatient surgery, they immediately lowered our room rate. I didn't expect that to happen. Hats off to Best Western.
The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive, rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. They have a nice breakfast spread and outdoor patio and a beautiful pool. Easy parking and easy access to highway.
This hotel definitely is the worst Best Western I've ever stayed at! The room was old, musty, filthy (blood on the curtains), back patio was filthy covered in bird poop, and the security lock was an old chain...should I go on? Please don't stay here...there are several other "new" hotels in the area at the same nightly rate.
The beds were literally the best hotel beds I've ever experienced. My kids loved the place. Would 100% stay here again This hotel is very conveniently located to area activities, with easy access on and off the highway, but not directly next to it, so no traffic noise! Staff was friendly. Breakfast provided a lot of options- something to satisfy everyone's tastes. Room was clean and beds were comfortable.
Traveling with three kids and our dog. Plenty of room for everyone. Great spaces to walk the dog on the property and an excellent park (Coffey) with a dog park less than a mile away. Breakfast was great in the morning and lattes and cookies in the evening were a perfect end to our day. Staff is wonderful!!
Ok - so I've said this a couple times before about this place and it continues to please. How many places are this consistent I ask you? Stayed here this time for just one night. We always request (and got) a room on the backside as it seems quieter to us. And of course request upstairs. This time we visited w/ my brother and we they were able to put us in rooms close by which we appreciated. Staff including front desk, housekeeping, breakfast room and maintenance were friendly and helpful. We like the breakfast buffet as it does have some options for our vegan lifestyle. Once again it was a quiet place and we slept good after being out all day. Free parking, good location off of 101 and nearby where we were going as well as the price make this hotel our go to. We like the business center as well - made it easy to do a little research. Thank you BW Wine Country Inn
Wasn't HAPPY afterwards that we checked in Saturday for 2 rooms! One room wasn't ready n other room was ready for my family… So me, my husband had to wait outside for an over hour cause the housekeeper came in rush to clean our room that wasn't even cleaned n bed wasn't even made, bunch of nasty dirty bathroom that looks like someone threw up… So afterwards they told us that they were so sorry, will give us more extra discounts that we had to wait outside while they were cleaning… I HOPE so they do have us extra discounts…
Overall I was disappointed by this hotel, especially given the price. I should have paid a little bit more for something nicer like a hampton inn or courtyard. The hotel was right off the highway and not appealing. The room was okay, but didn't seem very clean. Breakfast was highly dissappointing, eggs were overcookwed both days and brown. The guests were noisy and I'm pretty sure there was a fight in the room next to us one night. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap hotel then this might work, but the price wasn't low enough for me to consider it worth the value. A couple pros were that there were a couple coffee places within walking distance and parking was free.
I really enjoy this location. From the lovely balconies shrouded in beautiful trees, the comfy beds, clean rooms, and the delicious breakfast offerings, this place is at the top of my favorites list!!
My spouse and I went to California to celebrate Christmas with family and had a very pleasant 2 week stay at Best Western Wine County Inn & Suites in Santa Rosa, CA. The Inn is easily accessed off Highway 101, with multiple dining establishments near by. It was very clean; the staff was friendly and helpful and the included HOT breakfast was amazing! They provided practically anything and everything one could want to eat or drink, including (but not limited to) eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, an array of cold cereals fresh fruits and breads. The suite was quite spacious and very well appointed. It included a jetted tub, microwave, mini fridge and 2 flat screen tvs, as well as plenty of towels and personal care items. The king bed was extremely comfortable, and set apart in a cute alcove of sorts. We definitely look forward to staying again on a future visit.
Room and bathrooms are outdated, and should really be updated. I paid $800 for about 6 days. You would think the rooms would at least be a little more modern. The walls are thin, so you hear your neighbors (especially when they are playing loud music all night), and you will hear when people walk past your room. For $200 more I could have stayed at Hyatt in downtown Santa Rosa, which I will definitely encourage all to do. My room was not made up once, even when I asked.
This is a great hotel. The staff are professional and friendly. It is dog friendly. It is nicely situated off highway 97, but in a quiet location. It is close to wineries, the lake, hiking, and only about 15 minutes from Kelowna proper. They facilities include a small pool with a water slide, and a really warm hot tub. The breakfast includes choices of bacon and an egg dish, yogurt, fresh fruit, waffles you make yourself, breads to toast and pastries.
I stay in one of three places when visiting Kelowna. If it's west K-Town this is my accommodation of choice. Great service, clean and friendly. Close to most places I need to be when I'm required to be in West Kelowna. They've really worked hard to keep things smooth during the massive renovations occurring on this property.
Spacious clean guest room. Our room has 2 balconies and a jacuzzi tub. Very nice! They offer hot breakfast with lots of selections. Very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended
Checking in was pleasant! Breakfast had a plethora of options and was delicious! Comfortable beds! The rooms were tired, in need of repairs and updates. The exterior was receiving a new coat of paint which gives me hope that they are well on their way to completing the needed refresh in the rooms. A decent stay but I may be inclined to look elsewhere.
This was a convenient location for us in the North Bay. We really appreciated being able to charge our little Chevy Volt on the premises. The building isn't brand new but the rooms were updated and very clean which is the most important thing to me!
The outside is a bit tired and worn at this point but the inside has been redone and in very very good condition. We had a ADA accessible room on first floor that had a separate bedroom with 2 queens and then a living room with desk area, hot tub and walk out patio. Perfect for our needs with our service dog
This was a terrible hotel. Absolutely an embarrassment to the Best Western name. Dirty, smelly, things broken. The bathtub plug didn't work. There was hair aLL over the bathroom. Unsafe for kids as there are rat traps everywhere. I am ashamed I paid what I did and I won't stay there again.
If you come to the Santa Rosa area, I highly recommend Staying at this hotel. I've been working in this area for about two months and I will keep staying here until then. The staff is extremely friendly, the pool is very clean and the location is perfect for entering and exiting the freeway.
This hotel is being remodeled -- and they completely ruined to one morning we chose to stay in the room for awhile before leaving for the day to be greeted with excessive hammering to be followed by drilling and when we requested they stop for awhile - they refused. The "Suite, which is the on;y otion for a king size bed is certainly suite for comfort - no extra pillows or blanket-- odd pillows on the bed and a very small bathroom counter -- this place is not worth the price -- lok at the other BW in town -- skip this one But on a little bit of a positive - the breakfast had a nice assortment.
Stayed here for a wedding I was attending in the area. The outside looked rundown and although the room was fine and roomy it was overpriced for the area it was in and appearance. The front desk staff was great and the breakfast was hearty.
Easy to find, park and use. Front desk very helpful, had to reprogram my door lock! Breakfast is what I would term continental (bread buffet with office coffee). Location isn't the best but its serviceable. Rooms are comfortable and fairly quiet.
The Best Western “Plus” was a big disappointment. The hotel is tired and very rough around the edges, including the clientele. Every time we left or returned to our room we were greeted by people smoking cigarettes or vaping marijuana on the balcony “hallway” near our room or in the stairwell. It was not family friendly at all. Men sitting in their patio near the pool catcalling when women walked by was just gross. Many of the rooms seem to have a nice view of the small but well kept patio and the tiny pool (hotel promo photos taken from an angle to make it look larger), but we were looking at a concrete wall at the back of the front building. The room was clean but the closet door was broken, the cold water ran warm, and the bathroom outlet wouldn't hold the plug for the hairdryer, it kept falling out when we'd use it. The beds were comfortable and the hotel seemed like it would be quiet despite being near the highway, but our neighbors and our very loud AC did not make it restful. The breakfast was ample & appreciated, typical free hotel breakfast fare. The front staff were not at all helpful. Two very young kids staffing it could not answer even basic questions (like what are the hours for breakfast?). Not rude, just not helpful. Room rate was way too expensive for what we experienced. Expected more for close to $300/night. Would not stay here again.
We rented the King Suite with jetted tub. The room was one of the most spacious rooms we've ever stayed in, it made us feel like we were in an apartment. The room was neat and clean, and seemed well taken care of. Staff was friendly and efficient, check-in and check-out was fast and convenient. The breakfast room was well stocked, clean, and very pleasant to eat breakfast. This will be our go to hotel in Sonoma County from now on.
Aida in the kitchen is the sweetest lady! She was very attentive to our needs and prompt to help with all questions we had about the food. She also helped us with coffee and drinks even after breakfast was over, and directed us to finding things we needed throughout the hotel. She did everything with a smile and you can tell she truly loves her job and she's great at it!
This hotel saved us. Went to check into our other hotel, but they had a different arrival date for us. At 11pm dark 30 we found 2 rooms for 8 if us. Breakfast with Aida was delicious, she was very helpful and cheerful.
was very easy to find from the airport, right off of the freeway. When we checked in, we were given a "go bag" containing water, snack bar, microwave popcorn and a cork screw (in case we had wine). Breakfast had lots to choose from and was filling.
This is an older version of the Beat Western brand. The rooms are adequately sized and come With balconies. The air conditioner/heater works well but is a bit loud. The usual amenities are available. The complimentary breakfast is good quality and choices. Front desk staff are not the most friendly but are helpful. The rooms are clean. The bed is comfortable and there is adequate parking.
We were touched by the compassion shown to us. Especially by manager Todd Anderson, and desk clerk Shawna for our nearly 2 week stay to support our terminally Ill daughter. The staff sent an encouragement card with prayers signed by all the staff, and Todd offered his car until we could make travel arrangements. The room had better than expected amenities including fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave. Included hot breakfast was well prepared, with lots of choices, kept hot and plentiful by staff.
I usually stay in the suites because I want a jetted tub (not sure if any other room has them.) Anyways, I specifically choose this location from the pick of about 6 other Best Westerns. The $500 deposit is absolutely ridiculous. I have never paid over $200 for a deposit, and I travel a lot. I rent at least 15 rooms a year. It was horrible when I booked online from Hotels.com, and had zero idea the deposit was so much. Then it takes forever to be refunded back. Nothing about this hotel is worth a $500 deposit. I understand it's probably done specifically to keep tons of people out of their hotel, (pretty much on the line of discriminatory) but they need to step it up if that's the case. Ya'll need to do soooooo much more to justify why I should spend $850 for a one night stay. And the ants...you're charging that much but you have pest issues?
I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and it's centrally located. Shopping, Starbucks, restaurants, etc .. I was only 5 minutes away from the location of my workshop, which made it easy to get there by 8:30 in the morning. We were also given a serve yourself hot breakfast which was really good.
I booked a room from the Best Western website, then followed up with a call to be sure we could check in late because our plane didn't land until 8:10 pm. Erika was very helpful and very pleasant to work with. We arrived, even later than planned and she was working the Front Desk. She was just as pleasant in person and remembered speaking with me. I had her book a reservation for the last day of our trip, the night before we our flight. Next morning, the GM Todd, who we didn't know who he was until a bit later in conversation, was at the front desk. He helped get us a ride through Lyft and then offered to store our luggage in a secure room until we came back with our rental vehicle. Lyft was taking forever and he canceled the ride and took us himself to the rental location across town. Hebmade sure the charhe was removed from oyr rokm account. We were surpised at his generosity, and also very thankful. Made me glad I had booked our next stay already. The room, and linens were clean and the bed very comfortable. We didn't hear the freeway noise unless we opened the balcony door. Plenty of hot water too! The air conditioner was a it loud but, I would prefer the individual room heat/air to central heat/air. Breakfast was good, although we almost missed it because we woke up late! We will miss it next stay because we have to be at the airport before the my start serving. Darn. Lol. We will definitely keep this Best Western as our first choice when we visis Santa Rosa and Sonoma County. Thank you Todd.
The front desk staff was very helpful when I called before booking, even telling me what comments to put on my reservation to be sure we got a first floor pet friendly room. I had to call a second time to make a change, and again, the phone was answered quickly, and I was helped in a friendly professional manner. The room was clean, the internet worked well. I like the way the rooms all have back doors and little patios. Our room on the first floor was very convenient for walking our dogs. This hotel has a very reasonable pet policy, great areas to walk the dogs, and provides poop sacks and trash cans. There are several restaurants nearby. It's not a touristy area, but more business/industrial. The breakfast was excellent with eggs, potatoes, meat, fruit, waffles, pancakes, breads, cereal, etc. My only disappointment was that the way the hotel is designed, the rooms don't have windows, as they have a 2nd door. This makes the room pretty dark, but it didn't bother us too much. The back yard access makes up for it! We look forward to staying here again!
Are you tired of me raving about this place yet? Ok, just have a need to review one last time. This one will be shorter. So do you want to go to a place that cares about your stay? Last time, did a TA review and the owner actually read it and responded. I know what you're thinking but it was not the typical "thumbs up" stuff. Upon arrival, we were very surprised to be upgraded to a very nice room as a thank you (not only that but all front desk people were aware of it and greeted us by name each time they saw us). While I can't guarantee that you (or I) will get an upgrade, I can guarantee that this person cares about your stay. To recap why we love this place: extremely helpful mgmt & staff (front desk, housekeeping, maintenance), free parking, good hot breakfast (not just cereal & muffin), quiet location, easy freeway (101) access, clean room, comfortable bed, flexible cancellation policy and good price for what you get. While I don't expect to get a perk the next time I visit, with all the things above how can I say no. Actually, we already have this booked again later in the year. And I guess after reading this again, maybe it won't be the last review of this place after all.
Great experience again at this hotel. Clean room, great hot breakfast, fun/heated pool, great location. Room had new fluffy towels. Starbucks is next door and shopping/gas/Panera across the street. Very convenient location, just a few minutes from old town /downtown Santa Rosa for boutique shopping and wineries. Staff was very friendly.
I often travel alone for work. Being a female, I like to make sure I feel safe, and it's important to have a parking close to my door. I was able to park 10 feet from my door. The area was safe with a McDonalds, Chevron, Panera, and Starbucks within walking distance. The room had nice decor and comfortable bed and no weird hotel smell. I was pleased and would stay again.
When o got to my room the door was open and people at the hotel were showing it. Room smelled like marijuana and had ants everywhere. Beds suck and balconies can barely fit the table and chairs. Don't stay here.
Suite was spacious, great location, quiet sound proof walls, comfortable room, breakfast is amazing, jacuzzi tub was a treat. Free and easy and lots of available parking spots were a plus. Elevator was close to the suite. Lots of ants found on the counters, then ants found on the ground, and on ant on the bathroom counters. I don't expect to pay almost $500 and share a room with ants. Definitely disappointing. It's like you know staff must have noticed the ants while cleaning the rooms because every time I looked, I saw the ants.
Price was the only downfall. I cannot ever recall paying $200 per night at a Best Western anywhere. Staff was friendly, room was clean. The breakfast was nice, with nice choices to eat. I would go back to this facility.
Once again confused by what makes this a plus property. This motel looks sad and run down on the outside, and isn't much better on the inside. It could use an update for sure. The rooms are good sized, but the bathrooms are kinda sad. There was no soap in the sink area, and the makeup wipes were so old they were bone dry. We tried to have breakfast, but the room was too crowded and the options didn't look good for health eaters. We walked next door to Starbucks instead.
Friendly staff; from the front desk to maid service. Rooms are clean and upgraded. I got a room with a balcony and it was nice having a cup of coffee outside in the morning. I highly recommend. Morning breakfast was also good; had allot more options then some of the best westerns I have stayed at
I frequently travel and will always look first to Best Western for a place to stay. Great service and rooms are consistent throughout all their hotels. This particular Best Western was another great place to stay. Friendly staff, clean room, great amenities, and incredible value for the area. Whether it's for work or leisure, this Best Western provides exactly what i needed after a long day. Breakfast was hot and had variety. Comfortable bed and a refrigerator/microwave in the room for more options.
The room was very clean and had a refrigerator and microwave. It was spacious and had a nice little patio right next to the pool. There is access to shopping, Starbucks, restaurants. The location is excellent and the staff is super friendly and helpful
Completely satisfied.CLEANLINESS is our priority and bathroom are so clean .Rooms are clean .Receptionist is friendly and accommodating to our needs .Lts of parking .Veranda is so nice .Breakfast is great . Breakfast lounge so clean.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our construction crew stayed at this hotel for over 6 months while working in the area. The facility is clean and well kept. Breakfast was fresh & delicious. The staff was extremely accommodating with all of our needs
While looking for a place to stay on a recent road trip, we read reviews about this place. We often stay at Best Western and most of the time, these work out well for us. Made reservations for a couple of nights and then for another room on one of the nights as we had a bro that we were meeting up with. Reservations made online. After spending all day traveling, hiking and having fun, checked in late afternoon. Located just off the 101 (or by a main street if coming from the coast), the hotel was easy to access. Hotel was decorated for the holidays and felt good inside (it had been raining a little). We were welcomed by the front desk who were friendly and efficient in reviewing our request for a quiet room and set us up in one of the rooms at the back of the hotel. Additionally, they noticed the other reservation and told us that the bro would be put in a room close to us and we went on our way driving around the hotel to the back. Parked close to our room and up the stairs we went. Won't bore you with all the details about this place - maybe you should check it out. But some of the things we liked - free parking, very good breakfast buffet included (not just dry cereal and stale bread) - (even had some vegan options for us), friendly staff - both front desk and housekeeping staff, reasonable rates, microwave and coffee machine in room. When we commented to staff about what we liked, they said it was all due to the management who liked to ensure that people were happy. We believe that both the management and the staff are lucky to have each other and we are lucky to visit (especially during these times). Our next visit is already booked for next month. If you are anywhere in the Sonoma area, you might want to give it a chance.
It wasn't raining. We were in good moods, until we found out at check-in that the information we received from this location over the phone previously was not correct. We had been instructed to make two separate reservations, one using rewards points, and the next day for cash. So that's what we did. But it should have all been put on one reservation, so we had a hassle at check-in. At night, a bunch of frogs were croaking in the field next door. The front desk people always needed to check with the manager, so we assume they were new or otherwise inexperienced. The GM Todd came across as being a bit full of himself. He actually told my wife that he's been in the hospitality business for so long that he sees a "red flag" when guests don't want housekeeping while they are there since Todd suspects a potential "suicide." Not making this up. What he said. Since Todd is GM this place needs better management. The staff needs retraining after new GM put in place. The property has vast potential it cannot hit under current management.
This hotel was terrible. We got locked out of our room without any of our stuff and had to stay in a separate room. I'm not normally a “give me free things” person but only getting refunded $60 of my $170 stay is ridiculous. This was by far the worst hotel experience I've had. On top of that, the heated outdoor pool was fully drained but that wasn't mentioned anywhere on the websites. This stay has made me wary of any Best Western hotel and I doubt I'll stay at any of them again.
Staying in a suite room and realized we could get two rooms for almost same price for better beds rather than using a couch as bed. A learned lesson for us. Otherwise, its nice place to stay at and do have breakfast which is a bonus for my children.
I really enjoyed my stay at Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn! I stayed in the King Suite. It was beautiful! There was so much room. It was very clean and quiet! The breakfast was an added plus! This is my favorite place to stay when I am in Santa Rosa!
I would highly recommend this Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites. They were very professional and accommodating when I requested an early check in for my family. In fact, they put my family (my grown son and I, and my daughter and her young family) in adjoining rooms which was such a fun thing for my three grand girls and very helpful to us all! The room was well appointed and spacious - complete with a working balcony. The bathroom was also spacious, although in my opinion in need of an update. Now for the most important part - for me- It was VERY quiet at all times. Not sure if they have extra great sound walls? But it was very appreciated. The hot breakfast included biscuits and gravy, bacon, hash browns, waffles, etc. and the set up made it easy to access. We were visiting family in Santa Rosa and they were literally just down the road! We will definitely be back!
Needed a pet friendly hotel for one night on Thanksgiving. Visiting family from out of town. Checked in early only to find out I booked the 24th and Thanksgiving is on the 25th this year. The front desk person told me not to worry and gave us the same room we had reserved for the wrong night. They only charged us the difference in the price for the room being higher on the holiday. The room was clean and nicely appointed. Looked to be recently updated. Service was excellent. Great location. Will recommend to family and friends visiting the Santa Rosa area.
The hotel is run down and old. Stayed for 1 night. Was looking forward for the pool facility but the staff said the pool was being refactored. This is very unfair as I would have booked other hotels nearby that had the same or better facilities! Please remove it from your website if you are not providing it currently. The staff didn't offer any other explanation. They knew that this was wrong but just continued their business as usual. Breakfast was not great, most of the items were empty. Stains on bedsheet and floor and carpet was dirty. Bad odor in room
I was surprised that this hotel had consist vacancies as I was planning my trip. The breakfast was amazing! This area used to be a little sketchy but they're doing great keeping it clean. Pet friendly and lots of well lit places to walk dogs after dark.
Love getting the jacuzzi suit at this motel. I can take a hot bath while watching tv ( including movie channels). The internet is fast, the decor is lovely, and the hot breakfast is a major plus. Comes with a refrigerator and very comfortable beds. Makes other similar motels pale in comparison.
This was a very nice hotel with a balcony to sit out back and enjoy the weather. It is close to lots of wineries to do tasting and about a two hour drive to San Francisco. The breakfast here is very delicious with a lot of choices. The staff is very polite and pleasant
This Best Western is wonderful. We had a warm greeting as soon as we stepped up to check in. While the motel looks a little older, it is well maintained and the room was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were spotless. The breakfast was delicious and had many options.
This is a rather old hotel. The photos on the website are NOT this hotel. All doors to the rooms are accessed from the OUTSIDE. If you take a ground floor room, you might want to check to see if there is a sliding glass door that opens to a rather lonely courtyard. Sliding glass doors are easy to break into. Room was clean but decor was rather old. My chair had cushions that didn't even match the rest of the chair! The price is not cheap hotel but feels like it. No one could be found for check out. There is a Starbucks next door, gas station and McDonalds across the street and that's about it. No choices for good food close by.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 days for our 20th Anniversary. Shauna at the front desk was very polite and professional. Our room was located overlooking the pool. It was nice and quiet. Unless you had the sliding glass door open, you didn't hear the freeway noise. The bed was comfortable. We were told that we wouldn't have any cleaning service and if we needed anything just let them know at the front desk. Very accommodating when we needed extra clean towels and soap the first day. When we returned on Thursday night we noticed someone had come in our room and made our bed and left clean towels which was nice, even though we were told we wouldn't have any service. We will stay here again.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but would not choose this property for our next wine country visit. The price seemed competitive, but given the deferred maintenance and the really poor quality mattress, we'll choose other spots for our next wine country getaway. The mattress might be original to the property... it bottomed out, coils fully compressed, and a normal side to side roll in bed unleashed a cacophony of sounds and sensations as you can feel the springs clanking around inside the mattress. Long, long overdue for replacement.
Excellent room, larger than most Best Westerns we've stayed at with nice touches in room. Breakfast was great. Enjoyed the courtyard ambiance complete with our own small terrace with table and two chairs where we enjoyed dinner (brought back from nearby restaurant) and breakfast. Beds were super comfortable. Staff was really nice.
Very nice property. Close to shopping. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Some rooms have spas and balcony's available. Asp have larger rooms with extra bedroom if traveling with kids We have stayed several times and have been comfortable.
Very nice facility and grounds showing its age just a little. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and interesting. They even supplied metal utensils and real glasses if you preferred. I did not see the posted notice that rooms were serviced for multi-night guests ONLY ON REQUEST, so no bed making or fresh towels until I went to the desk to complain. This misunderstanding could have been avoided so easily if the check-in attendant had mentioned the rule when I checked in for a 3-day stay.
Not updated from staying quite few years ago. Decided to give another try. Smoke free rooms still smell like smoke. I visited my relatives room and it was okay, but there air conditioner was broken on the temperature adjustment.
I was a bit disappointed with the BW Plus Wine Country Inn. The location's “conveniently located off HWY 101 but the facilities need refreshing. I hesitate to complain about amenities during COVID-19 but their outdoor pool remains closed and their breakfast offerings remain limited, particularly for those that avoid gluten. For those without gluten intolerance, a McDonald's and Panera Drive-Through are conveniently located across the street.
I love staying at this hotel. Everyone is so friendly, staff is so helpful and the rooms are super comfortable. The rooms are clean and the internet works wonderfully! I highly recommend the hotel and will be coming back for future stays!
I checked in late on a Thurs. evening and the front desk woman was wonderful. I Stayed 1 night. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. It's just an older building, but you can tell they've kept it up. I forgot my toothbrush so they had one delivered to me, which I was impressed about! Overall a good nights sleep!
Dirty A/C unit. Beware if you bring food from the outside and eat in your room. By morning we had ants everywhere. When I informed the front end staff they had a careless response. Conveniently located next to a Starbucks, Panera, and McDonalds. The price and the experience were not worth it. As a Best Western rewards member I was disappointed.
While the people were nice and efficient- we would not stay here again. I realize that the area has had a rough couple of years to put it mildly- but I was not comfortable at this property. It really should not have a plus at the end of its name at this time as it seriously needs to be renovated and updated. The bathroom looked like they tried to update- but very poorly. Air con did work, bed ok but that's about it.
Room was okay, nothing special. Had an upstairs room with a balcony, which looked pretty sad with dirt-stained floor and cigarette stains on the railing and outdoor table (non-smoking room). Can't really use the balcony anyways if you don't like to smell cigarette smoke or pot. One super annoying thing to remember is the sensitive smoke detector in the room which went off after taking a shower, even though the bathroom fan was running. So for me in particular, I will try a different place next time.
It was an okay place. Basic. Nothing special. The guy that checked us in was nice. No elevator, but we didn't mind. Well, if there was one, we didn't find it. But keep this in mind if you have a lot of stuff. The bed was not comfortable. Hard. I woke with a back ache. If you book online, the special requests box is useless. They didn't assign us a room until we arrived. We had asked for extra pillows. But if course, since we didn't have a room until we arrived, they weren't there. But we went back and got some. We had a room with a balcony. The screen wasn't on, so we didn't really open the door. We couldn't get it back on, and we're thinking it was broken. It was pretty loud. You can hear traffic, and anyone walking by your door, you hear every step. It's next to a freeway, so it's constant.
My daughter who lives in rural Northern California had to travel 5 hours to Santa Rosa for a serious medical procedure. I live in Texas and wanted to find a place there where sha and her husband could stay for two nights. We found nthis place on line and thanks to Todd I was able to arrange for them to have a downstairs room and to be very comfortable. I don't know what Todd does for them, and how much he is paid-- but he deserves a promotion and a raise. He made us feel important and comfortable in this trying time. If you are a parent you will know how difficult it was being away from your child during major surgery. Todd made me feel so much better. My daughter said the place was very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend it!
I love best western hotels. I always prefer to stay at one when I travel. The staff are always friendly and go above and beyond. Even though they are not serving a full breakfast, the grab and go is good and has a little of everything.
My family was kicked out of our suite around 8:30 pm because supposedly we were making too much noise when our children where watching a movie and we were out on the patio not talking loudly or playing music it was so strange. We asked to speak with management and were refused. I have never been treated so poorly. And we had friends with us who just booked their room and again another family with children we all ended up leaving. This was the last night of our family getaway- what a bad way to end it when we had done nothing wrong!! NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY!!!
I work at the Best Western plus orchid Hotel and suites in Roseville California and compared to the king Jacuzzi suites I believe that the Wine Hotel and suites best western in Santa Rosa is a very nice set up & I enjoyed my stay
The front desk gave us extra blankets on request and gave us a discount on our room when we had to change rooms for toilet failure the swimming pool was sparkling clean but unfortunately we couldn't swim in it because of covid.
I needed to get away, a self care day to just relax and reset. Their suites have jacuzzi and plenty of space to unwind. Staff was awesome, location is about 45 min from San Francisco, the beach and is in the middle of wine country. You won't be disappointed
found a very clean and well maintained Hotel that was beyond my expectations and had a very easy time getting checked in & out..Hotel has a gym, pool and conference room for business meetings. Had a very pleasant stay and will use this Hotel again when in town.
From check in to check out the Best Western Wine Country Inn and Suites exceeded expectations. Every aspect of our stay was top notch. Appreciated the covid measures taken to insure our well being. At the price point there is no better value in the area. Had the chance to meet Todd the General Manager to personally thank him for the wonderful accommodations in these difficult times. Thank you!
The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The towels were nice. The staff was very friendly. It is hard during Covid because of so many restrictions (which I am in favor of). We only had two slight problems. I misunderstood the order form for breakfast. You fill out your choice for breakfast (limited menu) and I guess it is assumed you are ordering for your whole stay. After the first breakfast, we decided we wanted to do something else the next morning. We got breakfast delivered the second morning too and it was wasted because we didn't want it. I guess that was my fault. The other issue was the hair dryer. It had a very short chord (maybe a foot) Because I had not looked at it until after my shower and my hair was wet, I didn't want to wait for the front desk to bring another one or an extention chord. I had to be creative to dry my hair! Next time I will bring my own dryer or check before I need it. Other than those two small issues, it was a pleasant stay and I would stay there again.
Selected this location on our drive back down the west coast. We drove up from Los Angeles to Crescent City and making our way back down. Very good location, before you hit any big cities like San Francisco or San Jose. I selected a Best Western Plus through the app knowing what I wanted to expect. This turned out to be an extremely great deal for the price. You can park right in front to check in and then close to your room after. The check in was flawless and the lady offered us a choice of downstairs or upstairs. During covid there is no sit down breakfast HOWEVER you can select from a large list what you want and they will bring it to your door in the morning. I think this is actually better. The room was large, very clean and modern. From my other reviews you can see I am possibly over detailed (taking pics of shower head and clothing rod hangers), that being said all the fixtures we rust/calcium free and new looking. The sink has a marble counter top. There was a modern good sized flat screen, microwave and refrigerator/freezer. The room was modern and had art on the wall, chairs and curtains matched the decor. Remotes were wrapped in a plastic bag, letting you know it is clean. There is a sliding door that goes out to a patio which has a table and two chairs. If you want to go to the pool it is right there. 100% recommend.
Staff excellent, site/room were clean and safe. Centrally located to Kaiser hospital, freeway, gas, food. If having medical stay ask about their medical discount. Also pet friendly. As a female who travels alone felt very safe. Highly recommend! COVID precautions were very evident and felt very safe. Will stay with you again!
Not a great place, dated, but still ok due to location. Front desk people were wonderful. Room was clean. Breakfast was a frozen breakfast burrito not even heated up. only coffee was the in room coffee which is terrible
They give you a list to see what you want for breakfast because of the Covid 19 but they give you a small frozen burrito. But they still charge you full price. One apple and orange. A small cereal with a 2% milk. Horrible breakfast. They should just lower the price or give you a McDonald's voucher.
The staff was incredibly friendly. The room and grounds were clean and orderly. I wish we had spent more time at the hotel. There was a little patio with table and chairs to enjoy a glass of wine or your morning coffee. The room was also very quiet; there was no traffic noise, neighbor noise, or upstairs stomping noise. The location is conveniently close to the 101.
This property is still going under repairs from the 2017 fires but we saw no mess and heard no construction noise. Our upstairs room was large, quiet, with great drapes that kept out the morning sun. Parking was easy. I believe the elevator to the second floor was still being fixed.
We've been traveling a little more these days and want to save money while we travel. We want to be able to feel safe and enjoy the motels that we stay at too. We started selecting Best Westerns and found them to be the best motels for our money.
Even though there were plenty of empty rooms they put some workers upstairs from us who were arguing and stomping around late at night. They could have put us far from them. The front desk said they would give 10% off the bill but didn't.
Located near Hwy 101 with highway noise. Hotel appears to have deferred maintenance. The roof was leaking and a bucket was in middle of hallway. Rags were place near windows in lobby. The room entry door stuck badly. Tile missing in room. Refrigerator made a noise and could not be stopped with off button.Staff was nice and rooms were clean, but the building feels shabby.
Property was clean and functional, but is in need of some repair, maintenance and remodeling. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Breakfast was very good with a huge variety of food and drink options.
We hot a suite room when we had to evacuate during the Kincaid fire. We thought we only need one night but the desk clerk realized we might need more and blocked of our toom for us. The next day we asked for 2 more nights and because the desk clerk exceeded our custmer expectations we were able to stay before we had to evacuated the hotel room at 4am Saturday morning. During our stay the front desk, kitchen service) house keeping kept this hotel running like a well oiled machine. Thanks for a grest stay.
The downside: the AC was on at 60 degrees and the temp in the room did not get below 70. Also, the construction going on in 237, did not help with a dog in 137 barking at it. Saturday, was the worst for the construction going on. Yes, we were there for the Wings Over Wine Country Airshow, but someone had to stay with the dog in the room. In addition, as small as the room was, the price was on the high side. if the room was twice the size for the same price, there would be no issue. It would also be nice if there was a dog run of some sort for the dogs to go to. if an offer to move us to a bigger room, at the same price, due to the construction had been made, we would have accepted. However this offer was not made, by any of the desk clerks. The upside: the breakfast was good. Lots of choices, juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal with all the fixings, muffins, danish, breads, even had an option for pumpkin waffles. Very nice. On a lighter note, do not know if it is normal, but we were treated to some "free entertainment" by the occupants in the adjoining room: 138 on Friday night. Thank goodness our little one was sleeping. Trying to explain the noises coming from the other room would have been very interesting. Also, when they were done with their loud activities and left the room, they left the lights on, as the lights were visible under the door.
We stayed at this hotel when traveling to Sonoma for a family get together. First, the options in the are are limited considering how many people would want to stay in the area, but having stayed at many Best Westerns, we gave it a try. It was fine, but nothing remarkable. The room with 2 Q beds was a little cramped and kind of dark, but adequate--although not a great value for the room. I paid the same rate for a cute inn on a previous visit with more space and amenities, a wine hour and front patio. BW is a reliable brand, but this location seems to count on it's location to entice clients rather than amenities.
Nice stay, bed was comfortable, wifi worked well, breakfast was great. Toilet was clogged for no reason and when we reported it they sent up a plunger. We expected maintenance to perform the duty. Price was pretty high.
We took a second story room so that we didn't have anyone above us but for the most part the hotel wasn't extremely full and I don't think it would have been noicie on the first floor either. We were there in late September and it was an unusually hot couple of days. The temperature was over 100 on the day after we arrived and the air conditioner was necessary for sleeping purposes. The air conditioner wasn't the quietest but is was ok considering the alternatives. The hotel is located right off the freeway with easy access to head south and convenient coming from the south. Going north was a little more work. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable for sleeping.
Lousy air conditioning. So noisy we couldn't sleep with it on. Reserved a balcony room, but elevator was broken and so had to take a ground floor. Small room. Staed at a BW south of Santa Rosa-about 5 miles- for half the price and better room. Won't stay here again.
The service was excellent and it was quiet, which was what I asked for! The young man that took my reservation over the phone, was delightful, and every member of the staff I spoke to were as well! I have scheduled two more weeks to stay again!
Friendly staff especially Abiel at the front desk. Fantastic breakfast with something for everyone. You can have pancakes or waffles or omelets or simple cereals.Lots of options all cooked well and still warm.
This was the worse experience I have had in the past ten years We arrived with out bags to discover that our room was up a flight of stairs leading to a landing that was being re- tiled. After some impromptu negotiation with the tile setter we managed to clear a path across a row of tiles stepping over some wet mortar---a real safety hazard when carrying luggage. I simply could not believe that the management completely disregarded this. Our room was down a torn up pathway with loose cement and bit of tile. Looks like some sort on booby trap designed to tile you into the room. Once we finally got in the room I immediately call the front desk to inquire if there was an alternate room away from the construction. They offered to move us two doors further from the wet mortar operation and sent handyman to help carry our bags. Once trapped in the second room we did not feel safe stepping outside so we order food via door dash only to realize that the deliver person would face the same obstacle course so my wife stepped out to find the driver wandering around the lobby trying to figure out how to get to the room. The entire episode was rather stressful so we checked in early only to be awaken by the sound of resonating jackhammers. Yes construction workers were ripping up tile just outside the door. The breakfast room was a total mess with little or no fruit so we clear our early with the memory of the worse experience in our entire week in the wine country fresh in our mind --a sad end to an otherwise great vacation Seriously I have traveled all over Central and South American and have stayed at some rather rustic hotels but this place have replaced the drug infested hotel in downtown Cleveland as the absolute worse hotel experience I have had in the past ten years
My family and I stayed at Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites on the night of Friday, August 16. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with our experience, and feel it was not commensurate with the amount we paid for our room. We arrived at the hotel, tired after a long drive. When I checked in, the clerk told me where our room was, and indicated which stairs to go up to get to our room. (There was no elevator) I went back to the car, and my family and I got our bags out to go to our room. As we went up the stairs, I noticed there was a fair amount of debris on the stairway, which gave me the feeling that this hotel was not going to be nearly as nice as I had hoped. However, the debris on the stairs was nothing compared to what awaited us when we got to the top of the stairs. The entire walkway was torn up. There were tools blocking the doorway, and wet mortar at the entrance to the hallway. When my husband approached the top of the stairs, he said this couldn't possibly be the right way to our room. I went back and checked the sign with the room numbers to see if we had made a wrong turn, but we hadn't. We asked one of the tile workers where our room was and he indicated it was about halfway down the hall, and moved his tools aside so we could get through, taking care not to step on the wet mortar. The room was very nice, and clean. But having to walk through a construction zone to get there really put a bad taste in our mouths. It is honestly unbelievable to me that this would be considered acceptable. When we got to our room, my husband called the front desk to complain. Their solution was to move us to a room a couple doors down. The entire hallway was torn up, so we still had untiled hallway, but I guess we were now a little closer to the other stairway, which was at least usable and didn't require us to step over the active work in progress. Shortly after 9 am on the morning of our stay, we began hearing the sound of power tools, as work on the hallway resumed. Our stay at Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites was one of five places we stayed on a week-long road trip. It was the most expensive place we stayed on our trip (by a substantial amount) and the least satisfactory. I can well understand that construction and renovations need to be done. However, I do think a discount should be offered when those renovations inconvenience guests. When checking out, I took one of the manager's business cards, which were at the front desk. On August 20, I sent an email to the manager with the above information and a request for a partial refund. I did not get a response, so sent a follow-up email on August 26. Still no response. I remain quite disappointed in our stay at this hotel, and the lack of any meaningful response to our complaints. I am aware that the area is not cheap (we have stayed in the area before, as well as other pricy areas). However, for the amount we paid, we certainly should not have had to pick our way through a dirty, active construction zone. We will definitely look elsewhere next time we are in the area.
Filthy, over priced, and rude staff. Despite "renovations " this is an old nasty hotel. Paid almost $300 for one night. Bathroom looked like it was still being remodeled. A random wash cloth in the nightstand. Hair all over. Stains on bed and chair. "Heated pool" not really heated at all.
Our room was nice. The bed was comfortable and I was able to sleep VERY well and that in and of itself is worth 4-5 stars from me usually, however, the breakfast was terrible. They had serial but no bananas/pre-made ‘omelets' that were dry and the sausage gravy felt more like paste (and yes I rmbr what that tasted like even though it has been a really long time since kindergarten). The waffles were good, which could have brought it back up to a 4 but frankly the staff was simply there to do their job and no more. They were not friendly/welcoming/informative at all. When I ask a question I expect their attention on me and what my query is not on their co worker as if I was interrupting their gab session. That being said the fact that their beds were so comfortable would prompt me to stay here again bc really most hotels have terrible beds. The friends who stayed here as well said the same thing about the beds.
The service at the hotel was wonderful. I was having trouble on various websites finding the right set up - wanted a room with some privacy for me and my teenage son without having to book two rooms. I called hotel directly. The gentleman who took the call was very patient, answered my many questions and had a room with a living room that had pull out couch. It was ready when we arrived. However, the room was very run down... very sad looking and dark. The pull out couch was not a surface that could be slept on - like sitting on a bunch of hard wires - my son slept on top of the rather small couch instead. The breakfast was awful. Check out was easy and they called me afterwards to let me know my credit card was left behind. The staff was really so attentive and kind but the property is due for a serious renovation. It was not a comfortable place to stay.
If we're traveling in this area, this is our number one place to stay. everyone is so helpful an always smiling. it's very clean an does have internet.Breakfast included. it's nice a close for pleasure shopping or medical. very convenient. you won't be disappointed.
But it wasn't this time, currently undergoing renovation, outdated amenities, among other things. Wouldn't be so bothered but this is I believe the most I've ever paid for a best western and the lowest quality experience
We were very pleased to have a private veranda to the room and a working fridge and microwave. The room was spacious and pleasantly decorated. The staff at this hotel were friendly and efficient. Location was perfect for our trip to Safari West.
I read several negative reviews of this hotel after I made my reservations and was very concerned with what I might find. I can tell you for a fact that this hotel does not deserve such bad reviews. Our room was very nice and appeared to be recently renovated. Clean accommodations, new furniture, comfortable bed, great amenities, and all fixtures worked fine. The grounds are very kept and are extremely inviting and relaxing. Our king room had a patio looking out at their lush garden. Breakfast was acceptable with a wide range of food options. All staff encountered were friendly and treated us with respect and kindness. I would highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay.
The hotel is located in an ideal location for the weary traveler. The folks at the front desk during check in and check out were kind and very helpful. Breakfast was above average. We would definitely stay at this Best Western Plus again.
We have come to this hotel 3 times within the past few years. This is our home away from home. We are always treated so nicely, and we have had a fantastic room. The most recent stay has been the best. Apparently the hotel has been under some renovations. There are outward modifications being peformed, and we stayed in a room that had been rennovated as well. The room was beautifullg decorated! I also got the best sleep. In other hotels I have been awakened by the sun, but not in this hotel. The rennovated room had black out curtains! I also slept well because a new air conditioner installed. It had a remote control! I slept so well! It was the best sleep I have had on our road trip this year! We love this hotel because of its friendly staff, great location, heated pool, and great breakfast bar! Speaking of breakfast bar. My family and I travel often. We always compare other hotels' breakfast bar to this one. This breakfast bar has not been beaten in the 20+ hotels we have stayed in. We love the oatmeal bar, and I love how the hot food changes every day. They don't serve the same type of food two days in a row! I can have my bacon, sausage, omelettes, and scrambled eggs too!
The room was clean, spacious, and looked like it was recently remodeled. Front desk staff was friendly. Breakfast was the best I have seen (including fresh pineapple). Good location and there were no problems with the stay.
This property is dirty, disgusting & in need of a complete renovation and overhaul they're just putting Band-Aids everywhere storage bins in the parking lot, walkways are filthy dirty, rooms have oders throughout, bathrooms are dated and in need of a complete update, fixtures not working correctly, Room rates way overpriced! avoid this property at all costs!
Our room had a balcony and the view was blocked by several trees. The balcony was ok but the trees needed to be trimmed back. Our sliding patio door was off the track and didn't open and close very easily. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was good. Too cold to go swimming so not sure how the pool was.
The front desk staff needs to BE AT THE FRONT DESK when guest arrive! Not in the back for 5-8 mins while we stand up front! I called early that day and asked if there were suites available! Monica said no! Well after the she put me in a room right next to the construction in a dark room in the back! I spoke with Mohammed who saw I was a diamond member and quickly came to fix the issue! He put me in a suite for the many issues of where Monica placed me! As a diamond member she really didn't care to think about who and where she was placing me! The long hallway on the second floor OMGGGGGG!! That's so scary in the dark! I felt trapped! Then loud music from the construction team was CRAZY! Never did I ever think this would be at a best western plus! I NEVER want to go back there again! Mohammed noticed I was a diamond member and quickly came to fix the issue! He advised there was no elevator but he would help me with my bags, he came to the room with the new room key, he helped me all the way to the suite! Which was beautiful! I loved the remote air conditioning option!! I gave him one of my special vouchers I was so impressed by him! He saved that stay ! I was ready to call my reservation department and ask to be moved! So thank you so much !! But this property needs help!!
I stayed in one of the renovated rooms, however the bed and pillows were horrible and should have been replaced with the renovation, but obviously were not. The front desk staff did the bare minimum on check-in/checkout and the breakfast that was included was the worst. I went next door to Starbuck's after I checked out. And the worst part of this experience was that it was over priced due to something going on in the area.
My room was very hot and the air did not work. Went to tell the front desk and they had someone come look. He played with the setting and said there you go and walked out. There was no cold air coming out. I ended up have to change rooms. The internet was not “high speed” both the person I was traveling with and myself ended up using our hot spots on our phones for internet. I am glad that I did not book this hotel again when I come back in a week!
Do not expect wonders this is a standard chain hotel. It is good value for money, clean, in a good location, staff are friendly. It was not noisy and in walking distance to shopping, restaurants and pubs. Breakfast was great. I would stay here again. There was a laundromat 5 minutes walk away which was very useful.
With the exception of the breakfast buffet, there is nothing special about this hotel. The rooms are standard fare. There is no hot tub. It's outside of downtown and there's really nothing within walking distance except for a Starbuck's and an El Pollo Loco. The included breakfast was really the only highlight.
I must admit that when I first pulled up yo the hotel I was a bit apprehensive and wondered what I got myself into. From the outside, the solid doors and no windows don't make this place look very appealing. However, the rooms are much nicer than I was expecting. The bed was comfortable and the furniture and carpet was fairly new. I really only had one issue staying here and that was the television. First of all the channels weren't correct and I had to manually reprogram the tv in order to pick up all the stations. The hotel channel guide says they have HBO but it was actually Showtime. This was a minor issue but the hotel should probably correct it. The water pressure was some of the best I've experienced in a hotel and the toiletries were ample. There really isn't anything around the hotel but the highway is a quick drive to get you where you need to go.
This place was located in a quiet neighborhood but also close to beach, dining, and shopping. Loved the restaurant next door which we had a delicious breakfast and dinner. It also had a very extensive wine list. Hotel was comfortable, clean, and quiet.
Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn don't let the name fool you! This should not be a Best Western Plus location or should have “wine” in their name. To start off you can hear the noise from outside and also other rooms so don't think you will get a good night sleep. The next morning I asked to be moved to an upstairs room and they said once a room was cleaned they would call me so I could move, which never happened. The rooms/buildings need to be updated. Our plug in the bathroom only worked if we held the plug in the outlet otherwise the plug would fall out of the outlet. There was a light in my room that didn't even work. The second day our room wasn't even cleaned by a maid. I called to complain that evening and said I didn't have any clean towels. You would think they would offer to bring some new clean towels to your room but nope I was wrong nothing even mentioned how to help correct my problem. Also on that same day the maids left our friends room door open after they cleaned the room. For this location they charge a higher price since it is a plus location and also in a good location close to the wineries but they definitely don't deserve the higher rates.
Would really like to know how this hotel is rated a BW PLUS! Although the rooms appear to have been refurbished, everything is very dark - walls, carpet furniture. There is a balcony but with a tree growing right in front it lets in no light whatsoever. The breakfast was frankly abysmal- bacon fatty and overcooked, scrambled eggs just plain awful and the hash browns were like cardboard and tasted of nothing! Great bananas though, which became my breakfast staple! Even the breakfast room was dark and depressing. Afraid I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone. Overpriced for what you get too.
Arrived to check in and front desk clerk was very rude- wouldn't let us use the cart to unload luggage. Next we learn the elevators are broken and we're on upper floor. Get in room tv broken, empty soap, shampoo dispenser in shower . Had to move rooms. Dump of a place- very poor customer service. Only saving grace Starbucks next door.
We came to Santa Rosa for a family event, but the event hotel (Hyatt) was too pricy. The Best Western was much better value and a great find, though you can't be expecting luxury. We had a two-queen room for two parents and two kids, and it came with a balcony, mini-fridge, easy chair and bathroom with tub and sink outside. We could even connect to my parents next door. Everything was clean -- there were even two free bottles of bottled water. Beds were very comfy for economy hotel beds. Breakfast is the usual but with some warm options and DIY waffles. Not overly inspiring (and oddly no water) but saved us the time and hassle of finding our own breakfast and kids were thrilled. They even have afternoon cookies in the lobby. We loved the pool. It was heated in March (Hyatt's wasn't) and we went swimming twice. Didn't use the fitness center. There's on-site parking. The hotel is super convenient to the 101 freeway, with a Kohl's and various chain restaurants close by. Everywhere we needed to go was just a few exits away. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants affordability and convenience and doesn't care about fancy. Also note that some of the hotel is still under construction, including some rooms and the elevator was out of service temporarily.
We were in St. Helena visiting a family member who was in the hospital. The hotels in St. Helena are a little out of our price range so we decided to stay in Santa Rosa. Our room was a little dated, but very clean. It did NOT have a smell like some hotel rooms have. The carpet was clean and the bathroom was clean. The towels were very nice and soft. Probably the nicest towels we have every had at a hotel. The front desk clerk was very helpful and accommodating. We wanted a room in the building where the lobby was and the clerk accommodated our wishes. The breakfast was great! The food was fresh and there was a variety of items to choose from - Fruit, oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, etc.
Great location next to Hwy 101, wineries, restaurants, and shopping. I'd recommend requesting a quiet room away from the street. Great complimentary breakfast spread with a variety of food to choose from. We were pleased with our stay. Clean rooms. Nice balconies on 2nd floor overlooking the pool. Complimentary cookies and coffee at the front desk. Small gym with new equipment. Good customer care. I would recommend giving it a try.
A very nice place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was clean and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was a delight with many options and different choices each day. I would definitely stay here again.
Driving through the neighboring streets to get to the inn, I thought uh-oh, I hope I didn't put us in the bad part of town. I had. Next I thought, I hope this place isn't a dump. One look at it and I knew: I had. "Inn" sounds so attractive: it just means the individual room access is from outdoors, from the parking lot, a place you don't want to be for very long. The room showed modest wear and tear; lots of people had stayed there before. The mattress was too soft. The closet was in the back of the room, it was too small, and it had no light. The bathroom had no wastebasket. We could hear the thud-thud-thud of footfalls coming through the squeaky floor and ceiling above us. The room had no USB ports for charging phones and laptops. So why tell me the inn had been "newly renovated?" I saw nothing that remotely looked like a renovation. "Newly renovated" clearly implies the place has had a noticeable facelift. This place hasn't. This was my 46th wedding anniversary. We are Best Western Rewards customers. Frankly, we deserved better treatment. Best Western, get your act together.
We stayed at the BW Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites a couple of weeks ago with our senior German Shepherd. The ground floor rooms have a nice patio that opens into a common green area great for a quick safe walk. The breakfast was amazing with anything you could want. The staff was very helpful. The TV was a bit funky, once you get used to HD, going back is hard : ) I would highly recommend this property!
Really great service & Staff and super clean rooms. Breakfast service was great, too. Super easy access to the freeway and wine country. Can't wait to return again to this hotel. See you all in the spring.
Easy highway access, well maintained grounds, friendly staff checking in and out. Room was clean and spacious, with fridge, microwave tv and an ALarm Clock a rarity it seems these days. Breakfast was a variety of choices from fruit to waffles, eggs, bacon, breads, pastries, yogurt and cereal, oatmeal etc... There was even fresh blueberries. The staff was present replenishing items as needed and SADLY keeping area clean for those who never learned to clean up after themselves :) Thank you Hotel was quiet at night and well lit parking lot.
We always stay at this great hotel when we are in the area and have always received polite, prompt and very reasonable rates. It's nice to have the breakfast, but we usually have a 6:00 am flight out of the Santa Rosa Airport, so we miss it. I like the fact that there's always a national newspaper available. The wifi is simple and fast.
Check in and hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious (handicap room). Make sure if you cannot do stairs to say so on your reservation. Our room had two patios, blackout curtains, micro, fridge, counter top big enough to hold drinks and serve wine and micro food. The hotel is older, but It is minutes from the cute downtown, freeway close, and Starbucks is literally next door and brand new. You will be only a few blocks from the firestorm damage from the Napa fires, which is incredible- you can see the community coming back.
What an experience we had at this hotel. So it thanksgiving weekend. We are about to fall asleep and the fire alarm goes off at 11:30PM. We evacuate. Others doing same and one particular couple is having a difficult time with there dog. It is absolutely going crazy over the fire alarm. So much so when the false alarm is over the do is gone. The lady is really upset as she is driving around the area. I am out there with a flash light trying to find the dog. But no dog the couple has to leave for home the next day but no dog. My wife sees the dog a couple of days later with a homeless man but we lose him. He was trying to find the owners and the maintenance guy at hotel saw him and got the dog. They called the couple and drove 6 hours back to get him. We were checking out on Sunday morning and there was the lady and dog thanking the on duty hotel management. We had a great stay and a very happy ending.
Room was a little small, but comfortable. Liked the convenient patio next to the sliding door. Very good hot breakfast with bisquits and gravy. Staff was friendly and courteous. Convenient access to the freeway.
This hotel was missing the "PLUS" in the Best Western. The hotel room and over all appearance was not worth even a $59.00/night stay let alone over a $200/night room charge. There were cigarette buds all over the property and it was just straight creepy! The worst place I have stayed in years! This place makes me want to take the Best Western Chain off my list of hotel stays for all future stays.
This is a great hotel that's conveniently located off the 101 freeway in Northern Santa Rosa near wine country. I stayed here twice this month, and both times I was greeted by friendly staff. The breakfast was great and my room was clean and spacious. Good showers and comfortable beds. The hotel is still undergoing some renovations from last year's fires, and will continue to rebuild along with the local community. It felt good to support them, and I would definitely stay here again.
This is not what an experienced BW traveller expects from a BW Plus. Not horrible, just crumby. That is all. Small dim room, bed ok, hot buffet ranged from dry to curling at the edges. A little seedy but not really dirty. Ick.
Read all negative posted reviews on this B/W, there true. This is not a B/W Plus. Old hotel under constitutions, I think the staff is still in training......The breakfast & front desk cookies were great,
We booked at the last minute, asked for a quiet room. They accomodated. Pleasant staff, good breakfast, clean motel, easy to locate, many things to see nearby, loved the balcony! We would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for motels in this area.
We stay at Best Westerns all the time, so we had expectations of a certain quality of hotel, especially since they had a Plus in their name. The Plus needs to be removed. Dirty stairwells, outdated rooms, hairdryers that only worked on low. The room was clean, the reception staff was good, but otherwise this hotel was a disappointment. There were many containers around the property, so renovations or work may be in progress (they were replacing the elevator). We will not return.
Hotel ok but comfort level not great! ***I asked for more coffee and all she could find was decaf ***dont get a downstairs room!!! Ceasing creaks and it's loud when u r trying to sleep. ***again... maids clean upstairs first????? They woke me up every single morning tromping around over my head. They should definitely clean downstairs first! Will NOT stay here again.
Our recent visit to the Wine Country in California included a stop at the Wine Country Inn. The hotel staff was great and the room was spacious, with a balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was the typical chain-hotel breakfast - packaged muffins, waffles, pancakes, etc. No complaints since that's what we expected. The only complaint I have is that the price for a one-bedroom, including tax, was over $300! Those are NYC prices! We had virtually no choice, though, since it was the summer and most everything else was booked.
Recently stayed here for an overnight work trip. The hotel was fantastic and located next to several places to eat. Good wifi, very spacious rooms and excellent parking for guests. I would recommend this hotel for work trips.
Beautiful clean exterior and interior. Park in front of room a bonus. Noise from guests next door and above not sure can avoid. Needed new mattress. Will stay for every back to school shopping visit, clean and safe.
The hotel is nice and has some nice areas on the property to relax in. It was under remodel during my stay so I'm sure it is only going to get better. Be warned the area around it looks like some sort of apocalypse had occurred, all the buildings and surrounding structures are demolished to the ground.... but all the standing buildings looked to be brand new and well kept.
This BW has the best staff, best location, right off 101, clise to shopping, rooms are great, property is beautiful. Patios and balconies face lush landscaping. This area was devastated by fire but you would never know by this property.
We decided to visit the Santa Rosa, Calif area for vacation. I looked online for hotels nearby the Sonoma County fair, and came across the BW Wine Country Inn. We arrived on a Friday afternoon about 3:30 pm to check-in, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were ready to go... The rooms were standard, King size bed, large TV, small desk, and a nice armchair with foot stool. The bathroom had all the freebies you would expect, soap, makeup remover, mouthwash and plenty of towels. The shower had built-in dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The nice surprise was the balcony with a small table and 2 chairs. It was nice in the evening when the weather cooled down. My only complaint was the housekeeping staff. On Saturday, the staff came in about 1:30 pm to clean the room. But Sunday, as we were getting to head out for the day, they showed up at 9:30 am, told them we were leaving and could they please return later. We returned about 6:00 pm, and we noticed the room was not cleaned. The dirty towels were removed and the tip left on the dresser was taken, no other cleaning done. We called the front desk, who promptly called housekeeping, who showed up 5 minutes later. I asked for towels and told the staff no other cleaning was needed. When I mentioned this to the front staff at check-out, they did not seem very concerned...
We had three 2-Queen Suites for 2 nights and thought the rooms were very nice and a good value. The rooms each had 2 queen beds in a separate bedroom + a sofa bed, along with a large in-room jacuzzi tub and a refrigerator and microwave. There was a small but well maintained outdoor swimming pool and a small fitness room which we used both days. The free breakfast had a lot of variety, but average quality. Free homemade baked cookies were available in the lobby each night. All of the staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. We were able to take a delayed checkout on the last day of our stay. The hotel had easy access to Hwy 101 and was relatively close to a lot of the attractions in the area. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others.
I would go back to this motel no problem .staff and rooms are great and when you have needs they do everything to help. Breakfast was great and very clean . loved the coffee and had a pancake machine that honestly my kids loved .
Let me get this out of the way up front. Someone in housekeeping loves to turn towels, tissue paper, and toilet paper into fun shapes - animals, flowers, etc. We loved it. Kind of the highlights of the stay. This hotel sits north of Santa Rosa, but isn't too far from the town's amenities. We recommend the Salsa Zone nearby. The hotel is easy to find right off the 101 and has a nice entrance. Staff was friendly and service was excellent. The hotel has a nice pool and an interesting layout. Unfortunately, we were stuck on the second floor with no elevator in sight. The room was huge, unnecessarily huge - lots of empty space and fairly clean. Breakfast was your standard fare, but the hotel was lightly attended for some reason, so there were never lines for anything. The ice machine was downstairs next to the pool, which was a bit of a bother. We liked our stay and would stay again, but the hotel is a bit of an odd bird, and I can't really put my finger on why. At least it's quiet.
My visit started out before I even arrived, the front desk employees were just wonderful! I had an afternoon party to go to and needed to get in my room early to get ready. They were wonderful in making that happen. The room was clean and roomy. I had a nice patio and access to the pool. The only thing I can say that would be more helpful is the signage on the road, it is small and the hotel sits back a bit from the road which makes it hard to see, mostly at night. I only wished I could have had more time to enjoy the pool.
The scrambled eggs were so over salted, it tasted as if there was a full teaspoon of salt per egg - even my husband couldn't take a second bite! The automatic pancake maker, cute in concept, in practice produces very thin and cardboard-like pancakes that can't be cut with a plastic fork. I did enjoy the fresh fruit and oatmeal. A big thumbs up for the fresh blueberries! The room was so-so, like a Motel 6 type, but old and worn with age, in need of a deep cleaning, lots of signs of wear, bathtub worn and chipped, and their use of “brown grout” in the bathroom looked gross to me, as if was used to hide the dirt. There were three dispensers in the shower: shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. No bar soap in the shower area. Unfortunately there was no “shower gel” in the dispenser, which of course I discovered once I was in the shower and wet, so I washed with shampoo. :-\\ There were no pool towels out by the pool which of course I discovered upon coming out of the pool, cold and dripping. Also no jacuzzi. This place appears to be a popular spot with construction workers and families with small children. Just an observation. It was a disappointing contrast to the lovely Best Western where we had stayed the previous night in Redding. The light above the sink was out. The most frustrating part was the room keys or door lock didn't work well. We had to try the keys about 10 times (no kidding) to get the door light to finally go green so we could open it. Same result for both keys. (And no, we did not demagnetize the keys by putting them next to a cell phone) A man who was staying in the next room was helpful, saying the locks/keys are finicky - seeing me standing at my door he came over and tried to help me get my door to open. After a few attempts he shook his head and shrugged - then Hey presto! “12th try's a charm!“ he said “Just have to keep trying, I guess!” Everything else was fine. We slept well and the check-in/out service was quick, staff courteous, but we will stay elsewhere next time.
The property is long past its prime. Desk clerk claims "some rooms are not yet renovated." True understatement. No serious reinvestment in years here. But they still attract weekend visitors due to its location. Expect to drag your luggage up some aging outside stairs to a shabby older room. But the outside area near the swimming pool looks better than the building areas.
My fairy and I really enjoyed this hotel. Our room had 2 balconies overlooking the pool, we just wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the pool. The only issue we had while there was the internet being a bit slow, and the staff's lack of knowledge of where to get wine (considering it is a wine country hotel). Otherwise, it was a great place to stay, and I would definitely go back if I was ever in the area.
My stay at Best Western was delightful, but somewhat pricey. I felt everything was very comfortable, the breakfast was good, the room was clean and the maid and counter service was excellent. I would seriously consider lodging there the next time I'm in Santa Rosa.
The exterior of this hotel is very outdated and reminded me a little of a Motel 6; however, don't let that fool you. Excellent service, wonderful caring staff and manager, super clean comfortable rooms. I would highly recommend!
I was very pleased with my one night stay here and didn't encounter any of the issues others have commented about recently. I found my room to be clean and recently renovated, with no odors of any type and I slept very well. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which was one of the reasons I stayed here. It was more than adequate to start my day and featured something for everyone, i.e. eggs, sausage, cereals, pancakes, baked goods, etc. With that said I think the biggest asset at this property is the front desk staff. I found each of them to be friendly and very willing to help and answer questions. They made an effort to get to know me and have a conversation, which I don't encounter at a lot of other places.
Terrible stay. Worker in the next room was pounding away in late afternoon. The TV didn't work, the shower didn't work, the room still smelled of smoke from the fires. Breakfast was poor and the room was so noisy with the TV blaring that you had to shout to talk to your tablemate. Staff was rude on check-out. Will not stay here again until things are fixed, even though it is the most convenient hotel for my visit.
Property pictures are typical of these places - reality is different - not so great in this case. The property is not rundown or anything but it does not live up to BW Plus standards if there is one. It is a big property but quite old - the rooms are pretty old and this place needs update badly. We got 2 double queen suite and it smelled like some laundry powder through out our one night stay - glad we just went there to sleep and left early next AM. Breakfast is usual carb/calorie laden stuff - they have a pancake machine which confirms all of the machine food offerings at the breakfast. Cereals, oat meal, fruit slices (not bad), juices, donuts, etc. are offered. Carpets are not clean, the overall place needs a lot of TLC. Wouldn't stay again - not for the price we paid.
the staff are very friendly an quick in checking you in an out. the breakfast is very good.we travel often an stay here because it's close Its convenient for business an leisure .The prices are great here just book at least 30days in advance. Also if your stay at other locations sign up for the rewards as you earn points here an can use for free nights. the breakfast is included an good here.
My wife had eye surgery scheduled early on March 7 so we decided to stay here the night before rather than spend two hours driving up that morning. Our check in was fast and friendly, and our room was immaculate and very nicely appointed. The room looked out over the pool and a very pretty courtyard, and the bed was excellent. We returned for breakfast after the surgery, and of the numerous Best Westerns we have stayed at, both the breakfast room and the breakfast itself were the best we have experienced. Various cereals, hot oatmeal, pastries, juices, eggs, bacon, and two firsts: biscuits and gravy (delicious treat), and an instant pancake machine. As much as we enjoyed our stay, it was all the more amazing given that only a few months ago the disastrous Sonoma County fire had been burning right up to the hotel. The hotel is an oasis in the midst of the surrounding devastation, and we are happy to have stayed there.
Not a great stay Room looked ok at first walk in the saw black grease stains on bed an back of closed door Bathroom fan sounded like it was ready to explode Bath heated worked however smelled like it was ready to catch on fire Bath floor had glitter all over Needless to say for $200 a night I wish I'd stayed elsewhere!!! I chose it's location due to proximity to local airport Actually checked out an hour early just to get out of room I only had four hours sleep but just felt uncomfortable an unsafe there
I have stayed at this hotel 6 or 7 times in the past 3 months for work. Shauna who checks me in the in the evening and Abel (sp?) who checks me out in the morning are very friendly and helpful. Abel even found a loaner laptop charger for me when I forgot mine at home. The rooms are comfy with a mini-fridge (with 2 complimentary bottles of water) and a microwave. There is a clock radio with mp3 ports next to the bed and lots of outlets next to the bed. The free breakfast is the best I have seen at a hotel with pancakes, bacon or sausage, cooked eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, lots of fresh fruit and more. They even have a topping bar for your oatmeal, yogurt or pancakes with over 12 toppings to make them yummier. There are lots of healthy options if you are trying to go low calorie for breakfast. Make sure you sign up for BW Rewards before arriving. Rewards members get a nice welcome gift at check-in that includes microwave popcorn, a snack bar, candy and a wine opener. the hotel has a nice central courtyard with pretty trees and the pool area.
We ended up wrecking our car andx had to extend our stay with our dogs. The staff was extremely helpful and made this stressful situation much easier to deal with! They made sure we were able to stay inn the same room and made check a breeze! The breakfast was okay, they did have fresh fruit and that was great!
This hotel is right next door to Starbucks. A great value and free warm breakfast daily. The front receptionist was very accommodating. We stayed here since we had an event at a winery 9 miles away. I would stay here again.
This is a very basic hotel in an area of much nicer hotels. Anywhere else this hotel would be a $70 to $80 per night hotel. There are much nicer Best Westerns in the area for around the same price. I booked the rooms without looking at the hotel first. It was very close to area we were working so it worked but in comparison to the Best Westerns it was way over priced. Staff and breakfast was good.
We have stayed there for the past four years if not more. The hotel has had different names in those years from Holiday Inn to Best Western. The cost to stay was the highest ever this year. And being dog friendly is ok if THE DOGS DIDNT BARK ALL NIGHT!!!
Nice place. Enjoyed the breakfast (nothing fancy but still good). Clean room with comfortable bed. Internet was a little slow but Ok. Front desk person at checkin and checkout was outstanding. Only issue I had with room was the TV remote didn't work. Also, in fitness room, the treadmills face the mirror and the TV is behind the treadmills so you have to watch it through the mirror.
please never ever stay at this place. the room smelled like hell and someone started banging all the doors near my room at 3 am this was really scary. dont stay here especially if you going with kids.
After a string of bad hotel in the area while my fur baby was in the hospital, this hotel was such a breath of fresh air! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the room was nice, the area safe, and breakfast was tasty. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice pet friendly place!
Great service! Convenient design of rooms, with sweet little porches or balconies with table and chairs in a park-like setting (not affected by the nearby fires). Very pleasant hotel! Superb staff! Extraordinary breakfast! Best bacon I've ever had (light, crispy). Many choices. And Starbucks is next door. This was the Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites in Santa Rosa, CA. Highly recommended.
I knew when I booked it this place it was on the midst of the burned zone, the hardest hit neighborhood of the Nor Cal fire storms. The room is fresh and clean. Lots of fresh paint. I am sure they had their hands full with fire clean up from smoke damage. The exterior has ruins on the back side across the street of the KMart Store and what appears to be a motel on the 101 side. I do not smell and smoke at all and I have the sense of a beagle. It has been raining though. I am glad to bring my dollars to this neighborhood and the hotel was great. Wine Cou try is open!
This was a trip that had been planed for months. However, the hugs Tubbs fire had burned through the entire area surrounding The BW Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites. With all the devastation from the fire around them the entire motel staff had done an incredible job of getting the motel in tip top shape as well making an incredibly welcoming environment. My wife and I have stayed here several times before and I believe it just gets better with every stay. And again, with all that had gone on around them, this may have been our best stay yet.
The area of Santa Rosa was very hard hit during the recent wild fires. We booked before the fires but decided to still go stay at the Best Western since it was still open. The hotel itself is fine. We were very glad that we went. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The breakfast was phenomenal. It was a full breakfast not a continental breakfast. You are about 35 minutes from any winery. The price you cannot beat in the area. Overall a great place to stay.
2nd time stayed here in the last few months. The first time was before the fire storm and the last time was after the firestorm. In the first stay we had a second floor room with a balcony overlooking the garden area and the second stay we had a first floor room with a patio next to the swimming pool. Both stays we had no noise, tasty breakfast, comfortable room. On our second stay we parked in front of our room, and our room was located close to the breakfast room. We always make reservations a week or two before arrival, and try to arrive at the hotel between 2 & 3PM (to avoid the commute traffic). And our goal is to checkout between 9 & 10AM. All staff were friendly, accommodating and strived to make the hotel clean, comfortable and have the guest glad that they stayed here. They succeed with us.
This hotel was quite nicely decorated in the sleeping area, but the bathroom was very dated and very dirty. Years of mopping detritus had accumulated in the corners of our bathroom. The fixtures, tub, etc., were old and grungy. The rest of the hotel was fine, and especially so since it survived the fires.
No bathroom products, window screen missing, room not ready had to use hotel bathroom to get ready for a wedding. We would probably not stay there again. Although the location worked well for the event we were attending.
Booked this 6 weeks in advance as part of a weekend holiday with my best friend and his wife, who I rarely see as I live in another country. My husband and I drove from Seattle to Woodland in 10 days and did it nomadically (no bookings, just found places when the sun went down) and out of all the motels and inns we stayed in (which were at the range of $85-120 — we're not picky travelers), this was by far the most expensive we've stayed in. Unfortunaty, it was also the worst, specially for the wopping price of $235!! As you can imagine, we had high expectations. When we checked in, the duty manager, although was very nice, seemed to not be aware of our booking. We then asked if we were in the system, she concurred! She proceeded to ask me if I knew what kind of room I got and I had to look thru my email to find it. My husband, then again, asked if we were on the system or not because she was asking all these questions and seemed to still noy be aware of our reservations. But she still said yes, we were in the system! Then later on comments that she had written down my first name as my last name — after I had spelled out my last name to her and shown her my ID! This was the very first thing I did when I came to the counterpart to check in. Further, when later asked for further Information on the phone, she kept replying with an “uh-huh,” which really didn't really bother me too much, but as I work in Customer Service found it very unprofessional, especially since she was the duty manager. Breakfast I found okay. My friend said it was like prison food, but (1) ive never been to prison so I wouldn't know and (2) it's not the worst I've had. Room was also disappointing. The white areas were grey. The lights flickered. The balcony light did not work. The complimentary shampoo/conditioner bottles were there, but all EMPTY! But the bed, pillows and sheets were okay. Location is close to a lot of local places to eat. We went to Cooperage Brewery to hang out and it had a very good, chill vibe. But thats for a separate review.
This is my second full week staying at this location. The manager and three front desk ladies have always been kind and helpful with my check in and check out stay. I chose this location for value and its amenities. After speaking with the Manager, he was able to work with my daily schedule. In my chosen career, I stay in hotels weeks at a time, and he was able to accommodate my needs. The breakfast bar has cereal, branded yogurt, hot breakfast like eggs and sausages, and fresh fruit like pineapple! I enjoy the replenished fresh fruit. This hotel has a workout room and is kept clean and tidy. They have a workout room worth working out in, and that has plenty of equipment and space for three people to feel comfortable . The rooms are dated, and sometimes there are carpet pulls and staining. However, this hotel is always booked with the working class statue. I look forward to spending this entire work week at home away from home.
We needed a room for a family of 5. This room was the most expensive one on our tour around California however it was a treat for us after being cooped up in a car together. Lots of space for us all to not be on top of each other. Very clean and a hot and tasty breakfast that satisfied us all. The room has a spa tub inside the room. Not sure why a room that puts up 6 people would have a tub in the living room but that's what it has. Might be more appealing if my kids were not with us. Nice to park right up at the door and unload but if you stay upstairs there is no lift for the suitcases. The person at the desk was a little short with us but after visiting the McDonald's and dollar store for laundry soap we determined it was the local normal. Not rude just matter of fact and not willing to smile at all. I say the cons are not having a laundry available for guests however there was a laundry place within 10 minutes to take care of your needs.
Returning from The coast, we decided it would be convenient to stay in Santa Rosa. We had stayed in Napa the night before but wanted to get over to Somoma. Staying in Santa Rosa BW was fine not quaint but regular.
the room had dirty looking rugs with a huge stain as you entered room. outlets in vanity area and on wall near bed would not hold a plug and when we complained they only fixed one. When three women are staying in a room, there are a lot of hair dryers and it was very frustrating. The breakfast was sufficient but when we told the person in charge of the room that one toaster was not working, she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. ????????
Very nice place. Rooms & grounds were well kept. Hotel staff were very friendly & helpful since I asked for a earlier check in time. I had to drop off my car at the dealership at 1pm. they let us check in right after that it made for a nice afternoon in a comfortable room instead of the car dealership. Thanks
Our room was wonderful...and they allowed our sweet dog to stay as well. It is clean and the people working there are so very friendly. Their breakfast was good too! Our son went swiminng in the beautiful pool...very nice. Sadly, I forgot my iPad in our room. When we arrived home we phoned and spoke to Kiera who works in the office...right away she said she has the iPad there in the office and the very next day she mailed it back to me.She was wonderful..I received my iPad in no time. I want to thank them so very much for doing that! I will recommend this Best Western to all who go to Santa Rosa...thanks again for everything! Vikki
Stayed one night for work and the late hour I arrived must have meant I got the worst room in the house. Rooms are clean inside and neat but outside looks like a prison block with big heavy doors and no windows. You can hear eveything that happens in other rooms and when they cleaned the room above me, it sounded like an elephant charging back and forth across the room. Beakfast was what you generally get in a hotel like this. Staff in the breakfast room and at front desk were fine - not overly friendly but not rude either. Gym was very basic. It did look like there were some "better" rooms that had views over the pool. Maybe ask for that if you have to stay here.
Great place to use as a place to do a short wine tasting tour they are located off the highway easy access to both Sonoma and napa counties. a tasting room is located on the other side of the highway from a tasting room to start. Then many other vine yards are near by. Killer taxes though residents should do something about that. great breakfast though. Cool self serving pancake maker!!!
This was a very nice hotel. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. We were on the first floor and there was a nice patio outside of our room. It had one of the better breakfasts I have had at a hotel. Staff was very helpful. Not a lot of places to eat dinner nearby but close to the interstate.
I come to the area frequently and each time I enjoy myself here. The staff treat guests extremely well and it's always clean, comfortable, and any needs are met right away. Breakfast has lots of variety so it's hard to get bored by eating the same thing day after day.
This is a nice hotel to stay the night during a wine tasting event or passing through. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is slightly dated however it is clean. The t.v. is small but it is a flatscreen and they offer a lot of channels. The fitness room is small
Room was very large and excellent for my husband's wheelchair. We had the 2-room mobility accessible suite that included a pull-out sofa bed. Plenty of turn-around space for him and a fun sofa bed for my 10-year old daughter who loves adventures.
I gave five stars not because it is a five star place but because they took a 3 star motel and improved upon it. I was skeptical when we pulled in, but was pleasantly surprised. While the doors are exterior the place still feels safe. The doors have a deadbolt and chain lock and the patio sliding door also has a chain lock if you are on the ground level. All room have patios or decks that open out onto a beautiful courtyard and pool. Various areas are quite shaded throughout the day. The motel is conveniently located near HWY 101, Applebees, Kohl's, and Starbucks. The rooms are nice and large. We had a king size bed and still had plenty of room for bikes and suitcases. There is a microwave and mini fridge in the room which is really nice. There is also a coffee maker.
We enjoyed complimentary breakfast. This hotel is across the street from a large shopping mall and in a very convenient location. MThere are many fadt food restaurant to choose from. Staff is very nice and helpful.
We stay here anytime we go to Santa Rosa. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. This time we did not like the breakfast eggs. They were individual little omlettes and tasted terrible. If you are staying in S.R. stay here.
Handy to freeway, nearby eating and shopping. Registration was quick and front desk staff were very friendly. Our room was quite dated but was adequate for our 3 day stay. Parking was available right outside the room. The bed was reasonably comfortable but the pillows weren't really to our liking. Our room was to the back of the hotel and it was very quiet at night. Breakfast was good and the staff kept everything well stocked and tables cleaned up as soon as people left. I felt the price was a little on the high side but not outrageous.
Location in Santa Rosa is fine, close to the highway. Our room was comfortable for one night, containing two queen beds, a pullout and a separate spa tub. Check in at 3 was a problem for us, coming in for a wedding which was at 4. We ended up changing in the public bathroom which was suboptimal. The room was available before 3 and we were able to do our final touch ups there. This was probably the best BW I've ever stayed at.
Excellent amenities and friendly, helpful staff that went well above and beyond the basics. I stayed 5 nights, and would highly recommend this place. It was clean and comfortable, and the hot breakfasts were a nice plus. The grounds were pretty and well-maintained. There were many places to sit outdoors, and the rooms had outdoor patios as well.
For $200 per night I was expecting more. Honestly, this looks like a former Motel 6. The rooms are per usual, nothing special, that open to the outside which you may or may not like depending on your taste. Certainly makes it more convenient to get to your room from your car but certainly not as safe & quiet as a hotel with interior entryways. There was no spa/hot tub and we never had a chance to use the pool or onsite fitness room. Nor did we get to partake in the free breakfast as it didn't open until 6:30am and we needed to leave at 5:30am for the Santa Rosa Marathon. There were several marathon runners staying here and it's unfortunate that they didn't see to open the breakfast bar earlier. Finally, and this may be a nit, but I guess I'm spoiled with my hi-def TV at home because the picture quality of the TV in the room was awful. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable but $200/nt just seems way overpriced.
The room carpet had a large oil or automotive grease spot. It also generally needed a good cleaning. The pillows were second rate. The room was dark and dingy. The breakfast was very second rate and the serving area was badly picked over. The room acoustic were poor. We could hear every movement in the room above us.
Rooms were clean and decent. We had a room with a balcony which made a big difference. We were able to sit on balcony, while we enjoy drinking a bottle of wine from one of the wineries. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good
Great Hotel I especially like to out door private patio to drink coffee or relax at night. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. When you make the size of the comments so long people will opt out of filling this trip advisor comment out.
I arrived at this hotel on Wednesday and have enjoyed our stay. We have a king suite with jacuzzi tub. It's a really nice spacious room. I love having a patio off the bedroom and living room which looks out to the pool. The pool is nice and clean. Breakfast is nice, too. They have a variety of options, including healthy items. They have cookies in the lobby as an added touch. I have to say it's been a very nice stay. The bed is nice and comfortable. I've slept really well. For the price, it's really a good deal. I highly recommend the king suite though.
I had made a reservation to stay here for early August 2017. When we arrived they told me i had booked a smoking room. I said that is impossible and asked for a non smoking room. The attendant told me she had tried to call me and let me know that they could give me a non smoking room earlier in the day as they had a guest that wanted a smoking room. However, my phone records did not show that i received any calls from this location. I think rather they gave away my non smoking room and then tried to cover it by saying i had a smoking room. The room stunk, it made all my clothes stink, not just smoke smell but mold. It stunk so bad i had to wash all my clothes when i arrived home the next day. Do not say here. This is the 2nd best western i have stayed at in Santa Rosa and they are both dumps and scandalous in how they treat their guests.. When i checked out they did not ask me about my stay, i'm sure they already knew. This is not a best western plus don't stay here.
We stayed here August 4th and 5th 2017 for the Lazy Bear event a few miles away in Guerneville. We had room 234. We always ask for a second floor room because I am a light sleeper and have been in too many hotels where you can hear noise from above. The room was on the small side but comfortable and clean. The furnishings were all in good shape. Nothing looked worn or tattered as we have found in some hotels. We had a balcony with table and chairs outside a sliding glass door. It seemed nice on the balcony overlooking lovely landscaping but we did not have the time or inclination to linger there. The room was also adequately quiet. I did hear an ill behaved child running by our door at one point but otherwise we were undisturbed. The king bed was on the firm side but very comfortable with four pillows. The bathroom was clean and adequate but the tub was basic and wasn't worth bothering with unless your a small child. The sink was outside the room with toilet and tub. The included breakfast was adequate as well but nothing exceptional. For me, the hot eggs, bacon and sausage were inedible as guests laid the handles, (the part everybody touches), of the serving spoons directly on top of the food whic turns the food into a Petri dish. This is a common problem wth buffets. The general public apparently doesn't know better? I guess it would have helped if the hotel provided plates on which to set the serving utensils. The pancake machine was great, though. You push a button and two pancakes come out the side. Cold cereal, yogurt, and assorted baked goods were available. My biggest complaint about room 234 was the Phillips flat screen tv. It did not appear to be high def at all and, in fact, the picture seemed a little blurry. It was also stuck on "letterbox" on many channels. I picked up the remote to check the tv settings but Best Western uses their own remotes with the tv's that claim to be more hygienic than a regular tv remote. This remote does not give you access to settings so you can't adjust the resolution and whoever set it up originally, apparently did not set it for true high def. Also, you can not use the hdmi. We travel with portable devices that can connect to tv's through the hdmi. With many hotels, this is no problem but the Best Western remote at this Best Western does not allow a guest to do this so no Netflix or Roku or other modern options many of us have at home and some of us travel with. I would love to see more people mention this in their reviews on Trip Advisor as I think it will be more and more important as we get used to alternatives to just the cable or satellite options hotels offer. Hotels should be attempting to give their guests access to the minimum of what guests have at home.
We booked this hotel for the Ironman Santa Rosa, based on it's proximity to the Courthouse Square where most of the festivities took place. It is an easy drive to get from this hotel to the square. But that's where the pros of this hotel end. We've stayed at many Best Westerns, preferring the Best Western Plus, and have had mostly very good experiences. We've even begun showing some loyalty that way, looking for Best Western as our first choice when we travel. This hotel is NOT a Plus, and I'm not sure how Best Western allows it advertise as such. The rooms open to the outside. The pool is very small (and noisy). There is no hot tub. The rooms are small and reek of chemicals used to cover the fact that these rooms have previously been smoked in. At check-in we listened to the clerk talk on the phone to someone asking to be able to get a room "for a few hours" (she told her none were available). When we inquired about a late checkout for our last day (a Sunday), which would be the morning after the Ironman race (and we might have wanted to sleep in), we were told to "check that morning, and we can tell you then." Um, what? I have to wake up, check and see if I can get a late check-out and then go back to sleep to enjoy it? We got up early and left instead. On top of all this, you pay a premium for rooms in this area, so it's extra frustrating to pay mid-range hotel prices for such crappy accommodations. We do intend to return to Santa Rosa next year, but we will NOT be rebooking this hotel ever again. In fact, our experience here has made us leery of booking Best Westerns, as we thought the 'Plus' here meant it would measure up to what we've experienced in the past (the St George Abbey Inn being the high bar for a Plus hotel). Very disappointed, and would not recommend to travelers unless you're okay overpaying for a low-end motel.
We had a positive experience here, like most Best Westerns, they delivered clean rooms, friendly, accommodating staff and great facilities. The pool was great, the breakfast was excellent and the staff was fantastic.
Racially bigoted staff. Insulted my Significant Other who happens to be Native American, insinuating that she did not belong in the dining room and insisting on seeing her room key. Insulted her in front of other guests. TERRIBLE! She is a very beautiful, well educated teacher, and a sophisticated woman of color. You people are beyond the pale. We checked out immediately after I expressed my displeasure to everyone in the lobby who would listen!
Outside hallways are under construction, fights in the parking lot, dogs barking through the night, shabby, worn out rooms, uncaring front desk employees, poorly functioning AC room units, old bathroom toilets and showers. NOT worth $155 per night!
This facility is ok for the run of the mill motels. Nothing special. Rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast is the generic free breakfast offered by most hotels. The breakfast staff was ill equipped to deal with the Sunday morning rush, but they did their best. The tv reception was awful. Will note that this was the Sunday after the Ironman so the hotel was full. In summary, this facility is acceptable but,in my opinion, over priced. Regarding a review made on 6/20 by Ken B. This facility does not have an indoor pool. In my opinion average motel with a big price tag.
Stayed here for one night: liked the courtyard with it well maintained garden. In the garden there is a sitting area where one can meet with friends or simply sit and watch the birds. Our room was on the 2nd floor, it was very clean, the shower was powerful, we slept soundly and we were not troubled by any noise. The morning breakfast was quite good, the staff refilled dish trays before trays became empty. They made the scramble eggs which were quite good, plenty of ingredients included in the eggs. I had three cups of coffee as they offered real cream not the powdery stuff. The breakfast had a steady flow of customers but the staff kept everything clean and responded immediately to requests.
We thought the "Plus" would make this hotel ok. Wrong. The room had a bad odor, the back of the doors were dirty, the exhaust fan did not work. Breakfast eggs were cold. The hallways and walks were dirty. The front desk only said they would tell the management. She could have cared less.
A little shabby on interior appearance - a lot of work needed to be done. It is quiet as it is off the freeway a bit and rooms are pretty spacious. Breakfast offering not as good as other best westerns I gave stayed at
This is a clean, quiet and comfortable Best Western. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this Best Western. There was a power outage the day we were leaving and the staff went out of their way to make sure there was some breakfast for us.
This place is freeway convenient and clean. We had a spa suite first floor. Nice large room, Bed not so great, more than a bit hard. This is where the problem is, if there is a guest above you it's noisy and annoying. No steps were ever done for sound proofing. There's better choices in Santa Rosa for sure.
We've stayed here several times. They have a sharp, friendly staff, the rooms are clean, the pool was clean and inviting, they provide decent WIFI that was easy to connect to, it's in a quiet area, it has easy freeway access.
Checked in a little late on our stay, around 9 pm Had to wait a little while for front desk agent Kurra, when she returned she was very apologetic and helpful. Learned she is taking care of the entire property alone. Kurra is one of the hardest working and committed resources I have met in quite a while and I travel often. And she obviously loves her job and what she is doing. Thank you Kurra for making it a great stay.
Hotel was easy to find. Doesn't look like much from the outside but it is clean and up to date. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choices. Front desk staff very helpful. Beds were very comfortable.
The staff at this Best Western in Santa Rosa is the best! They made us feel at home and took the time to take a genuine interest in us. Our family was there for 2 nights awaiting the arrival of our grandchild. Abel took the time to ensure we were comfortable and taken care of. This is hard to find and made our experience there so comfortable and stress-free. . Our room was great--enjoyed our outside patio! Breakfast was great and staff refilled items constantly. We will go back!
I had a staff member stay here overnight, in a typical room- nothing fancy. However, the staff member was having difficulty due to the card we gave her to pay for expenses and even locked her keys in the car and couldn't get to the rest of her things, including alternate payment. The GM, was so nice and so helpful, he allowed her to check in and rest while the locksmith was on his way to open the door. As a Gov facility, there is usually no one available to help with situations that occur after hours except calling the boss at home. I didn't hear about this until the next day. Everything was handled there in the moment, thanks to Todd's patience! We would definitely book here again- Thanks again, Casandra & Janice.
First time at this hotel. Things started off fine but when we got to our room, someone was already there. Went back to the front desk. They apologized profusely and gave us another room. Again someone was in the room. This time the front desk staff didn't waste anytime and upgraded us immediately to a suite. Nice surprise and we appreciate the desk staff for making the decision quickly. Later the staff told us the people in the rooms didn't check out as expected and no one followed up.
Excellent hotel, clean hotel, great location, breakfast was great with many options, food was hot and great selection. Staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Hotel is right off Route 101 so you are close to everything.
Unfriendly red head lady at front desk and awful chemical cleaning smell in rooms. Incredibly expensive for the quality of the room and the front desk attitude. The hotel appears rundown and is need of an upgrade on the outside and definitely in the rooms.
So we check in and go to our room. No liners in any waste cans, the wheel on the refrigerator was miss so when I went to open it the thing fell on my foot. The entry, to our surprise, wasn't spring loaded. So as we drove off my wife noticed the door was open. The automatic wake up system on the phone didn't work. So we didn't get a wake up call. The room was dated and smelled.
Since you asked me to post this I will. Our room was dark and dingy and the AC unit had to have been from the 70's and barely kept the corner it was in cool. We had great service from the gentleman that checked us in and out and helped us finally get our bill straightened out and 3-4 calls and a few emails. The lady I spoke to at the front desk on the phone earlier in the week provided no customer service other than taking our money for the room and had zero concern for the situation we were dealing with and her attitude and tone made it very clear how important and valued we were to BW. Did I mention how I tripped on a loose and broken tile on the staircase and how I landed in a puddle of water left mid staircase by whoever did the power washing before we arrived?
This was the third time I stayed in the Best Western Wine & Country Inn and Suites. I stay there because everything is consistently good and I find the staff very welcoming and friendly. The cleanliness of the room is what I expect to find and am never disappointed. Any request made is fulfilled without hesitation.
Santa Rosa is a busy place. It's been around a long time and as such and as with most California cities there are a lot of old trees and shrubs (big shrubs) which can make finding buildings difficult. So if this a location you're interested in be prepared to drive slow and look twice, if your GPS says you're there you are. The Wine Country Inn is another of Best Western's great properties. In door pool, work out room, and of course great rooms and beds. The area around the hotel is chocked full of amazing things to see and places to visit. As always I carb up the morning of the Games and this hotel has a wonderful breakfast. Everyone should travel to northern California so much to see and do. And when in the Santa Rosa area put the Wine Country Inn on you list of places to stay.
Our room was good and both beds were really comfortable. This was a girls weekend and we only stayed one night but having the Applebee's across the street for a drink in the evening and the breakfast in the morning, our party of three was very happy. I recommend this hotel as it was clean and cozy and easily located and the staff were all nice
Disgusting, uncomfortable room that was excessively hot with only a tiny wall unit AC. The room smelled like it hadn't been used or cleaned in months. Shower head water pressure was sporadic and the sheets were completely stiff and even had a blood spot on them. This location is a disgrace to Best Western.
We stayed here twice, a week apart. The property is old and is being renovated. The interior of our room had been updated but the outside just looked tired. The metal doors to the rooms, while painted, were dented and left a very poor impression. The breakfast buffet was typical heat and serve and met the minimal expectations. Probably would select another motel in the area if in the area again.
We arrived with another couple to begin our long awaited California vacation and were extremely disappointed from the minute we arrived. The girl at the front desk was not very helpful. She almost seemed bored. When we checked in and went to our rooms our friends room smelled of cigarette smoke so we asked to be moved. We all were moved to the 2nd floor...no elevator and no help with getting our luggage up the stairs...to find that the landing to the rooms was under construction with tile partially installed. Our room was not very clean. We couldn't wait to check out the next morning. This is our first experience with staying at Best Western and did not leave a good impression.
Staff was great and location was great! Very nice room, even had a back patio with sliding glass door with a table and chairs. Room was very quiet and many nice restaurants are nearby for your dining pleasure.
Pro: (1) >30 restaurants within a mile drive, a dozen within a short walk. Fast food to gourmet. Most rooms have a patio overlooking the pool area (too cold to swim :-( ), very restful, (3) breakfast includes cheese omelets or cheesy scrambled eggs - much nicer that the typical plain variety. (4) Depending o TOD easy on and off of US 101 freeway,(5) very quiet rooms despite closeness of US 101 - NO road noise! Con: Actual entrance hidden in foliage and hard to find. WiFi 5G not available (faster and less crowded than typical 2G WiFi)). Even WiFi 2G does not work in breakfast room (wake to cartoons). Rooms need a night light for us old folks (2-3 bathroom visits in the pitch dark).
We are Best Western club members and often stay at Best Western brand inns and hotels. However in this case, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, the monitoring of the continental breakfast area (all three coffee pots were empty when we went to get coffee, no napkins, no eggs, etc.,etc., and no staff in sight until another guest went and found someone), the lack of caring and friendliness in the staff, and the value of the the price paid for the lodging. We stayed at a beautiful inn in Oregon with great views of the ocean, which was very clean, had a well-stocked and comfortable continental breakfast room, coffee and tea available all day, and an extremely friendly and gracious staff for much less per night.
This was just a 1 night stay and it was great but the only issue was I thought the bed was old and it wasn't a good nite sleep but my hubby had no problem. Breakfast was yummy. It was a dog friendly hotel
There are always limited locations in Santa Rosa. Usually Best Westerns are fairly decent, but not in this case. I do not know how this hotel achieved a plus status. The hotel looks pretty run down. There are patches in various places around the outside of the buildings. The hallways are very dirty with spills everywhere. The hallway outside my room seems to be rotting under the tile and it is collapsing in several places (see photo). The room smells old and musty. It has a sliding door so that has been open since I arrived. I think the only thing driving the room prices is the location. It is way overpriced.
This hotel is nice . . . close to the freeway with no freeway noise . . . good shopping options close by for the traveler who forgot something. Starbucks is next door! Some fast food options are across the street. The free breakfast was outstanding as it offered options for everybody. They're installing a much needed elevator . . . nice pool. Downtown Santa Rosa was very close and fun to explore.
Attitude from hostess at checkin, NO TOWELS IN ROOM (didn't realize until I was already in need of one), and got no credit off the bill at checkout when I complained. Bed sagged in the middle. Internet was slow. All in all, not happy. You'd be better advised to stay somewhere else.
We stayed in a Suite with a Jacuzzi tub & it was great! Our Suite, room 224, had 2 small balconies, one off the bedroom & one off the Living Room, both with table & chairs. The refrig/micro area included a spacious counter top & sink + a comfortable Living Room area. The beds were super comfortable & were in a separate room. In addition to the Jacuzzi tub, there was a standard tub/shower. 2 TVs rounded out the perfect room! We will definitely be back!
From Hotel name I was expecting a more rural setting. It was not. However Immediately off Hwy 101 made it convenient & the hot breakfast included had many choices. Room was adequate. Price was moderate.
Great location for eating shopping while using medical facilities in north end of Santa Rosa. Great pool. Well trained staff. Attractive rooms and concerned staff. Dealt with my early arrival perfectly
When we drove up to the hotel, we were disappointed by it's drab appearance. The check in was very friendly, but we discovered that our room was on the second floor and there was no elevator. There is some kind of renovation being done to the elevator and exterior flooring. Room was very sparse, dull, drab and very stuffy. The air conditioner was an older model and did not cool the room at all. Facility seems old. Our last couple of stays at a Best Western have been very disappointing and we will probably not use Best Western again.
Very nice place- good location- good value for the price- the staff was very friendly and helpful- good free breakfast- rooms very nice- I would recommend to others. I would stay here again if I was in the area.
Found a room late at night. Everything okay but bed was very soft, saggy and lumpy. Breakfast was adequate but I am vegan and oatmeal was only option. Seemed somewhat overpriced for motel with hand dispenser of shampoo and soap in shower.
This hotel was a great value. Very clean, and everything was as it should be. Will definitely stay here again. It is a perfect jumping off place to see the Sonoma wine country. Santa Rosa is big enough to offer a great selection of restaurants in every price range.
The staff was helpful and very nice. Excellent breakfast. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Bed was very comfortable. Pretty grounds. Location convenient to Starbucks, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Coddingtown Mall. Easy access off the freeway.
Hotel is very "tired" and needs upgrading to merit its "Plus" designation. Room keys did not work upon check in, maintenance had an attitude toward us until they also could not make the key work. Changed room had a damaged towel bar, which they did fix promptly. No towels were changed on our 2nd day, nor coffee service replenished. We had to go to front desk to get them as we were informed that housekeeping had gone home. Hotel needs to pay more attention to customer service, which we expect from a BW Plus.
We stayed here before the Wine century bike ride. Location is perfect for the start of the ride. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful in choosing our room. We asked for a quiet room and it was quiet (2nd floor). The room was clean and spacious. The bed was a little soft for us (but we like firm beds). Breakfast had many choices and the manager opened early to accommodate the early morning bike riders. We definitely will return.
We stayed at the Wine Country Best Western Plus in Santa Rosa for the first time this trip and had an enjoyable stay. The room was good and bed provided good nights sleep. The location was central to the restaurants we wanted to visit and provided easy access to the highway while being far enough removed to not have traffic noise.
Booked into a smoking room. Spent the evening trying to air it out so we could sleep with not much luck. Cigarette burns on the carpet Unkempt exterior with weeds. questionable females in the parking lot. Irregular shower temp.
The staff and breakfast were great and the room was clean with refrigerator and microwave. Unfortunately the facility is tired and in need of refurbishing, particularly for the prices charged. We were initially given a room on the first floor (at our request), though when the guests above us arrived, the floor creaking as they walked about made a change necessary. The front desk personnel were agreeable and moved us to a second floor room. We had a very restful night on a very comfortable bed. Also made use of the relatively new treadmill in the fitness room. There was also an elliptical machine, combo weight machine, and recumbent cycle (though only one of each).
Room cleanliness, terrible shower, (Shampoo, body cleaner crap, & conditioner mounted on wall in dispensers. They suck!) mostly unfriendly employees except breakfast room. Air conditioners in my room & others with me in their rooms were not working good. Desk clerk said 'Open doors, there is a nice cool breeze & it will cool room down'. WTF??? Breakfast offerings & lady who runs are far superior to most hotels I've been too. Would not recommend this hotel.
Nothing special here. It was a place to lay our heads for the night. I'm not sure we'd have done any worse at a Motel 6 though, where the price would have been a lot less. The place needs updating, in my opinion, to merit charging what they get for a room. I guess you get to do that in wine country.
Clean rooms, great service, good night of sleep. Outside of hotel could use some upkeep. Hotel is a bit far from downtown so if you plan on eating or going out in the downtown area another hotel may be a better choice. Great place to stay while visiting napa/sonoma.
I stayed at the Best Western Plus Wine Country location for one night with a pet. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk staff were very friendly. My stay was during the middle of the week. The one night I stayed there was very quiet. The parking lot was very well lit and there is a grassy area for pets. The pet room did not smell like a pet room at all. I brought a puppy pad which my dog used. For the money, it was a great value. It is located three miles from the Sonoma County Airport and around the corner from Trader Joes. I felt safe the entire stay. My room came with a microwave and a refrigerator with two bottles of water. I would stay at this Best Western again.
Quiet room, very comfortable bed and got a great night's sleep, location perfect for what we came for. Friendly staff. Would stay here again. Room comes with microwave and fridge, nice big TV and great bathroom. You will enjoy it here.
Very conveniently located, with very clean nice rooms and comfortable beds. Very hospitable stuff, enough of good breakfast to sustain you through your next stop. Mark it on your map if you need to spend the night in the area.
We chose this hotel for proximity to wine-tasting and cycling routes. Good option for both.-- short drive to a great ride out of Guerneville and multiple Dry Creek Valley vineyards. Comfortable room, friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
In an effort to save money on lodging during our visit to Napa we were excited to find a reasonably priced Best Western only 30 minutes from Calistoga! However- we were pretty disappointed. Given the proximity to such a beautiful region, we expected a little more. The room instantly had a damp smell and really poor lighting. The beds had what felt and looked like a curtain, that was so uncomfortable that we took it off, leaving us to cozy up with a sheet. The towels smelt a little off, but can't place the smell. The hotel was outdoor entry, which is fine, we just don't prefer that. The soap barely lathered. Luckily we were barely in the room, more of a place to put our things and sleep- so if that's your purpose and you're looking to save money- this may work for you!
front deck personal very helpful and friendly we were there to attend a wedding at a nearby hall there was a block of rooms but we opted to rent a suite it was very spacious the Jacuzzi tub was the largest of any hotel we have ever stayed at the room was very clean but dated the heated outdoor pool looked very nice but the weather was a little too cold for us to use it the workout room was better equipped then most but not what I was looking for so the front desk people referred me to the local 24 hr. fitness which was very well equipped and only charged $25.00 for using it and was within walking distance all in all it was a very pleasant stay and if I was in the area again I would definitely stay there.
We stay here once a year visiting my husband's family. It really is like "coming home". Cozy, comfy room, great location. Always quiet. Glad this year to see some additions to the breakfast menu. Always a welcoming staff.
Our stay was mostly what you'd expect from a mid-tier hotel. the only hiccups were that the WiFi connection was terrible, and the clerk at the front desk who checked us in tried to charge us extra for our service dog. Other than tat it was pretty nice
Friendly, helpful front desk but dark, dingy room, noisy neighbors, and walk to breakfast in the rain. Property appears to be old, poorly laid out, and over the hill. Expensive for what you get. Brings to mind the phrase "the last resort".
We stayed here for 3 nights and were very pleased with the overall experience. There are not many choices in the area where the quality of the hotel and price meet this well. I will stay again when we have the opportunity.
Great place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast was good each morning. Room was clean and the small balcony was great. Location adjacent to shopping and Starbucks. Freeway was close and easy access.
Usually we prefer choosing Best Western for their value & locations near most or our favorite places to visit. We've been going to a lot of places in retirement all over the western US. I especially like it when they serve a full breakfast.
Spent four nights here for vacation in Wine Country , a really good experience as is our typical experience with Best Western. Didn't like first room- 2 bed 2nd floor, hotel was full, asked for king first floor and moved there next day- great ! All good
Just off the 101. Easy access. Beautiful room and comfortable beds. Very clean and comfortable rooms with patio. They will accept pets. The staff is very attentive. Called the property for directions when I ended up at another Best Western property in the same city. Great directions given. Arrived within 15 minutes after talking with the manager.
Great central place to stay while visiting sonoma wine/beer country. Friendly staff, decent rooms. Good price compared to nearby hotels. Good coffee in the morning, and option for early bfast is great.
For the price, I anticipated better sheets (which were worn, rough and threadbare), pillows (which were lumpy and old), towels (again old and thin); and the small screen television mounted high on the wall was uncomfortable to watch; there was a lack of decent toiletries; limited fresh air and natural light (only source in a dark room was the slider facing the outdoor table); a very small room as my husband and I had to keep stepping aside to prevent bumping into one another; and in dire need of an update. Am still tired from my lack of sleep (actually no sleep) on Saturday night. At over $225 AAA rate a night, way overpriced. Have stayed, many times, at the four star hotel Omni San Francisco in a lovely, spacious, well-appointed room with comfortable bedding, towels, upscale surroundings (available today for about $20 more, standard king room). Or the Sentinel in Portland. The Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn & Suites in Santa Rosa was not a "Plus" ... more of a Motel 6! Will never come back. Only plus was the staff I met who were very professional and courteous. We stayed there because of location and availability. What a mistake! Never again.
We had stayed at this hotel before when visiting family. Same use this time. Was a great proximity to all the things we wanted to do - wine tasting, Culinary Institute of America, and lots of driving around to visit sites.
Great to have a balcony or patio off the room. Property however needs to be updated and maintained. It is overpriced for the value and does not seem to meet the same standards that other BW Plus hotels that I have stayed at.
Run down, poorly maintained. Gas leak smells in room and around property. old furniture that smells squeaky doors, poorly flushing toilet. Noisy, lose floor tiles. I would not recommend this property, it was the worst Best Western I have ever stayed at before. Next time I will chose another property in the area
An older but well kept Best Western hotel ideally located for wine country and shopping. Several decent restaurants very close, and a Trader Joe's down the road. Each room has a patio or balcony and there are mature trees surrounding the rooms, which cover the freeway noise.
Room was decent for price but found bug in bed first night, there were druggies in parking lot behind hotel and lingered into hotel parking lot. One guy ripped off fence panel breaking it. Reported to front desk. Didnt not feel car safe in parking lot. Landscape was a mess brought level of property down. Surprised when we arrived have stayed at other BW before and nothing like this. Pictures of hotel as is should appear on web site.
I booked two rooms, and stayed at this Best Western for one night, and to summarize our stay in one word, that would be "No". No hot water in the lobby for tea No decaf coffee in the lobby No wine glass available in the hotel No wine opening available in the hotel No breakfast trays No waffle machine (which we look forward to when we stay at Best Westerns) The only "yes" we got was check out at noon (instead of 11) at one of our rooms. Rooms and hotel is a bit dated, and the carpet felt dirty. We had dinner at the Applebee's near by, which was a decent meal. If we ever stay in Santa Rosa again, i will try to get a room at the other BW in Santa Rosa.
This was our first stay at a BW PLUS (still not sure about the difference in the three levels of Best Western properties). The room was fine and the bed was very comfortable. The TV was a nice slat screen (what else these days) until we turned it on. The reception was poor. The breakfast, for a motel, was a true vale - many choices and well presented. I do think $220 a night was at least $50 higher than what we should be paying.....
Stayed for 2 days during Labor Day weekend - had the honeymoon suite. The room was great. Fancy towel hearts and animals, HUGE Jacuzzi tub, very clean and spacious. The staff was helpful and friendly. Laid by the pool and relaxed. Plenty of food choices with the complimentary breakfast and the gardens were pretty and well maintained. Easy access to freeway and close to wine tasting, restaurants, stores and night life. We enjoyed the hotel and the grounds so much, we decided to stay in!
Great Hotel. Convenient amenities. Clean pool. Great Breakfast. Would definitely stay in a Best Western again. They have come a long way from the past! Right on par with Holiday Inn now. Price was affordable for the quality of the room and the central location to restaurants and stores.
We had 2 rooms for 2 nights. The staff was awesome. Breakfast was good. Loved watching the hummingbirds in the fountain. We used UBER to get to wine tasting for minimal cost. Worst Best Western we have every stay and the worst is we recommended Best Western to all our family that came for a wedding. All the rooms smelled so bad that we had to continue to spray air freshener every time we came back to the room.
Right off the exit. Covered by trees do Nit miss it. Check-in was smooth and desk agents was professional, efficient and friendly. Very knowledgeable of the area. GM gave us good lunch recommendation. Looks can deceive ones inside the rooms they are well maintained. The bed is so comfy. Breakfast more than we thought they'd have and it was filling and yummy. We spent sometime at the pool relaxing after a rough day (ha ha) of wine and dine. Must stay, book early specially for holidays.
I booked this property at the last minute after seeing some updated reviews for my original hotel. I was not disappointed with my choice. This hotel has been modestly updated, is affordably priced and CLEAN. Even the towels were above expectation for the price point. I was in town for one night to run the Santa Rosa Marathon so while I didn't get the breakfast, I had a great night sleep, fast wi-fi, friendly staff and overall, felt safe staying alone as a female traveler. If I run this race next year, I will return to the Best Western.
This was fine. They served a buffet breakfast which was okay. It was quiet in the back of the hotel. We had a real problem with the wifi. It was close to the wedding and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
We stopped here in the last night of our 6 day road trip. We discovered Best Westerns on this trip and decided to round out the adventure on theme. We've now become connoisseurs of Best Westerns so we can easily compare amenities. The room was nice, freshly remodeled and clean. I even gave my small children a bath in the tub, which I rarely do in a hotel. We liked the unlimited supply of soap and shampoo, though were sad to see that we only had 2 towels. The breakfast set up was the best we've seen, with warm items and even a pancake making machine which was grounds for excitement. The pool closed at 10 and so we only had a minute to enjoy it. There was no jacuzzi.
This was our second time staying at this motel and again we enjoyed the clean rooms, quite surroundings and the pool area. Unfortunately, we had the same experience with the breakfast area as the comment on July 25, 2016 from Christie L. We arrived at the breakfast room at 9:00am to find no hot food was left. The nice lady maintaining the area had to keep telling people that more was coming. After waiting 20 minutes a tray of hash browns came out and a 10 minutes later some omelets. Both were gone immediately by the other people that were waiting. The food should be replaced before all of it is gone.
We stayed here one night to go to a local wild animal park. The rooms were nice, reasonably priced and clean. The pool area was great, my daughter loved it. I wish we would have been able to stay another night. I would stay here again if we ever needed to.
Had an engagement in Healdsburg last week and this was the closest half way decent choice. It is just an average/typical Best Western property imo but definitely pricey since it happens to be near Sonoma wine country. Very basic and dated rooms and bathroom. The best part was the morning breakfast which did have plenty of hold/cold options. Plus very easy access to hwy. 101. Not a big Best Western fan!
We had a family event in Sebastepol, and Santa Rosa was the closest place with decent rooms. I like Best Western, and this one was good. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was better than usual. Good selection.
There are quite a few Best Westerns in the area. We have tried 4 of them. Last year we discovered this one and have gone back a few times. It is clean, comfortable, convenient to wine country and great restaurants. It is right off Highway 101. It is also very quiet - be sure to ask for a room on the 2nd floor. The staff is very nice and friendly. I do not understand the 1 review that said this motel was aging. I believe it is the newest BW in the area and is in fine condition. The nightly rate is a real bargain compared to other motels in the area.
The surrounding area is not especially nice, but good access to the freeway. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Small odd shaped bed pillows. Friendly staff. Family friendly hotel. Lots of parking. The amenities were limited. The sofa in the room had flat cushions, making it uncomfortable. Bathrooms were very generic. The breakfast had a lot of choices, but not all items were refreshed during the posted breakfast times and nobody wiped down any of the tables, so guests were looking for napkins to wipe down their own table. The cookies at check-in were a nice touch. Jacuzzi tub in the suite actually shared a space with the kitchenette, so did not use.
Your basic stay hotel. No charm, no extras. A hot breakfast, a pool and a reasonably comfortable bed and clean room. Close your eyes and you could be in any metro area in the US. Rooms in this area - even the 'family' hotels are priced way higher than other locations.
This Best Western was a comfortable, reasonably clean motel with comfortable beds. It is also aging and in need of TLC/updating, especially the bathrooms. The flat screen TV was an upgrade from previous stay, but the remote was problematic.
The staff was very nice, helpful with direction, and explained everything very clearly. The breakfast was delicious, very rich menu, great pool, great location and very quiet. I loved it. !00% satisfaction, I would recommend this hotel and I will stay in the future again.
Spent one night at the property while in the area touring. Ok experience, and decent value, but not sure we would want to stay for a long period. Staff very friendly, but while clean the facilities are getting a bit old. Looks like maintenance is being kept up, but can't do much about 'old'. And this is the type of property where a lot of trades folks stay when in the area. Lots of pickups in the parking lot - not that there were any issues. Relatively quiet, and rooms were reasonably sound proof, if a bit warm. Room air conditioner was to cold to sit near, but not terribly effective in cooling the room. We were on the back side, so no street noise, BUT there is a Goodwill recycling center on the lot behind the property so it might be noisy if you stayed in during the day. This is a two story property with NO elevators, so if that is an issue be sure to ask for a ground floor room
Mixed review for this location of a normally great chain. While we did not find the staff to be very friendly, attentive, helpful, etc (except the nice lady in the morning at check out) and finding it was a little awkward, it was a little better inside. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, handy microwave/fridge/coffee pot/iron and had a lovely little patio with a table to enjoy the beautiful weather. The wi-fi, while free, was a bit unreliable, but they did provide a decent breakfast selection which was helpful. The location was what we needed to attend a remote wedding, but i wouldn't stay there again for the same price. It is right near the main highway so there are things to see and places to eat right nearby.
Although we received a great military discount, the rooms need some more attention. It was just average and the bed was not real comfortable. Most of the TV channels were full of static. We were glad it was just for one night.
We stayed one night and although the beds were comfortable and we slept well, it certainly was not worth the price. The place is in need of a deep cleaning. Breakfast suited our needs and we grabbed some cookies at check-in.
The room was tidy but clean at all. For instance the TV remote had a nasty stickiness, like old soda spill, on it. The staff at was not caring and had poor attitude when they were informed of the lack of cleanliness of the room. Nothing was done. A random person took items and charged them to my room and the staff didn't check their I.D. "Sorry" doesn't protect my identity.
Happy for our 2 day stay! Friendly staff, clean room and linen! Pool lovely cool and clean! Bed linen needs updating! Could remove some extra furniture in the room, bit cluttered! Air con cool and quiet! Fridge and microwave were handy! Quiet location
We were going to a winery event and wanted a room for the night. Given that the event was the same week-end as the major Sonoma Car Races, it took a bit to find a place to stay in. Luckily the Best Western Plus Wine Country Inn and Suites had a king size room. We reserved several weeks in advance. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The bed is a bit taller than some beds to sit on. Its the type of place where one can also park very close to the door of one's room. We had a first floor room. That is a nice feature. Our room also had a patio and a few steps away from the swimming pool area. We enjoyed morning coffee on our patio. There is a coffee and tea maker and supplies in the room. The room also had a comfortable sitting chair, microwave, refrigerator, and flat screen TV. We watched a movie on one of the TV channels after our winery event. The bathroom is on the smaller size, but its nice that the sink is separate from the bath room. We went to the breakfast room. They have a good variety of hot foods (egg, sausage, pancakes), and cold (cereal, yogurt, baked goods), juice, and coffee and more. As such, for a Best Western it is very good. It also has several tables in the breakfast room. Staff is good. We got checked in quickly and efficiently. While we enjoyed our stay for one night, the price we paid (most likely due to the Sonoma car races) was higher than I usually pay for this type of Best Western. As such, I have rated it average. If you get a better price, it would be a very good stay for Santa Rosa ara and is close to the 101 freeway entrance and exit. There is Free Wi-FI as well. The hotel landscaping is nice with some palm trees and other plants.
We've been on a two week road trip with pleasant stays. However this place has horrible service. My husband was I'll so it start off with me having to haul three suitcases up the stairs because there is no elevator. My son has a disability and needed to use the pullout couch. Not only did they not help with the pullout setup, I had to go down to the desk to ask for a pillow. An hour later I went down again and they said they didn't have any extra pillows but they gave me a pillow case. ( I really think they didn't want to get off their butts to get one because they rolled their eyes when I asked.) Then low and behold later I realized the shampoo dispenser in the shower was empty and I was so fed up with their attitude, I used body wash! The room was large but the whole place doesn't feel particularly clean. I'm not one to make a scene but one more "I can't help you" and I'll scream!
Very quiet and serene! Did not hear other patrons when in our room. Nice private balcony. Great location to travel to wineries and casino! Great breakfast! The outside area needs better upkeep compared to pictures, but we enjoyed our stay
We stayed at a Best Western while visiting the Santa Rosa area. Have stayed at many Best Westerns in the past with few if any problems. While realizing these are not expensive hotels, we do expect the basic needs to be met. Have never had such a bad mattress - neither of us could sleep. In addition the parking lights shown into our room at night even with the shades drawn. The breakfast was self serve - nothing special.
We were drawn in by "Plus" designation, but this property is miss-labeled. It is convenient to wine country, and compared to other properties, it probably is a good value. The problem is: noisy, construction workers, possibly homeless groups in parking lot next door, renovations in progress, and outside corridors accessible to anyone. The breakfast was mediocre usual fare, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, yogurt, and cereals. Non fat milk not available. Get there early before construction crews arrive because most selections picked over by 7 a.m. The staff were helpful and doing the best they could do with an old motel that should be completely renovated.
BW very nice clean place to stay. beds very comfortable. Pillows fresh and soft the way I like them. Breakfast very good great selections and fresh. Price was great on line as opposed to front desk. Example Napa Valley stay one night on line $159 plus tax front desk $235 plus tax
The room was great. Everything was clean, and they offered free cable, wifi, and a desk so that you can conduct business if necessary. There is a gym on site, as well as a pool. The complimentary breakfast, was one of the best that I have had at a hotel. It will cost you more than staying at another hotel, but worth the price.
In a great location, but pricey. Food is average and room was tiny and overcrowded with furniture. We asked for a king but had to settle for two queens. The location is quiet but the hotel is very dated. It is also hard to see from the street (thank goodness for GPS.)
this hotel is in a great location , easy access to highway and close to center of town. staff very friendly and helpful. the hotel is clean and quiet , the grounds well maintained and the flowers were a nice surprise.
Recently chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Santa Rosa Fairgrounds and Healdsburg. It was the perfect place to stay. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was more than adequate. Would stay again.
Nice hotel, room was clean, nice shower. Bed was comfortable. We were upstairs in the back corner and could hear some noise from the next room.Front desk lady pleasant. Free cookies in office and they give you a goodie bag which consisted of cork screw, popcorn, granola bar and lollypop also 2 bottles free water in refrigerator in room. We were looking forward to using the swimming pool and were disappointed that the pump was not working. Breakfast included hot and cold foods which was nice but the pancake maker was broken. Walking distance to Kohl's. McDonald's and other fast food across the street. Starbucks next door.
Nice, clean hotel with good service and friendly people. Good overall breakfast. Room was very clean and had a cool little patio area to enjoy. Shower was very good and the bed quite comfortable. Close to wine country, many nearby restaurants, and also good proximity to the freeway. Santa Rosa is a nice town if you know where to go. Many options within 10-20 miles to go wine tasting. Beautiful area with the surrounding foothills in the distance.
The only highlight is the lobby. After check in, its all downhill. Dirty rooms, not well maintained. Food under the bed. Floors dirty and needing mopped. Broken tiles(with warning sign). Ice machine moldy. Broken pool (no mention during check in) would be a okay breakfast if it was stocked and the serving trays were not chipped and cracked. $30 value for $150 just because its in wine counrty?
I checked in on 5/26/16 around 4:30pm. The young woman at the front desk gave me room 217. When I went to open the door, I opened it to find someone's purse open, with their luggage and other personal items inside their room. I called the front desk from outside the room to inform her that she gave me a room that was occupied. She told me to come back to get another key for a new room. The hotel property is very large, two story building & NO STAIRS! I was carrying 3 bags and my heavy suitcase, traveling alone. I put everything back in my car, drove to the lobby and got another key. Not once did she offer to come bring me the key, or have housekeeping open the door for me. In the process of going back and forth I dropped my phone somewhere on the property & it is now lost. Ended up having to pay for a new phone before going home. What a terrible experience
We were reeled into a multi-night BW stay during an extended road trip by an offer of a $50 gift card if we stayed at two or more different locations…only to be told when we tried to request the card that we somehow fell between a brief “Spring” and “Summer” promotional lull when it was not available to guests! This, despite the receptionists at two locations AND a front-desk placard telling us that we qualified! We think it was a blatant case of bait-n-switch consumer fraud, at worst—or misinformation, at best…and irritating enough to prompt us to book into the Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn (where we've always been satisfied) during our three upcoming summer trips. So, BW keeps its $50 gift card and we spend our $2,100 hotel budget elsewhere. Go figure. BW isn't that great, anyway—not nearly as nice as the competition, in terms of typical location, cleanliness, and service. We've had issues there with stale breakfast food and a lack of in-room necessities like clean towels and TP, so we're happily moving on. BEWARE of any "deals" offered by these scammers!
This hotel is perfect. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good and it's nearby to shopping, wineries, and dining. The hotel staff were very nice and the hotel is clean and inviting. Highly recommend.
A disappointment. We had a double queen room that was terribly crowded for space. We could not walk on one side of one bed, though it was not against the wall. Walking between the end of the bed & the desk was difficult if any one was sitting (even close to) at the desk-you could skinny through. Our grandson was with us & 3 people in that room was CROWDED! Sink was very high, I'm 5'0" & had to stand on tip toe to bend over sink. Breakfast was ok but not well monitored as our second morning there was NO coffee until someone went to desk. This was evident all 3 mornings as there was shortage of most foods by 8:00. On the plus side the beds were comfortable, room was clean. Staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful. Loved the little patio! The grounds were lovely & well maintained.
My family will never stay here again. The front desk activated another person's key for our room and they were able to open our door. Luckily we had the latch on the door. Management was not very sympathetic even though this could have been a theft/safety issue. They explained that it was only a few minutes inconvenience for us...
the free breakfast and internet great. The bed super hard and uncomfortable. There was nothing outstanding about service or room. It is out of the way if you were wanting to walk around the downtown area.
This is a convenient location with a Starbucks and Applebee's within walking distance. The property was clean and comfortable, however the area for the bathroom sink is small. The bathroom (shower/toilet) itself is much bigger. We were in town for a function at Sonoma State and since we were only there one night, there was plenty room for two of us. I would ask for a suite if there had been more than two people in our party. The road that runs parallel to the 101 is easy to access and there are a lot of other restaurants within a few miles. The breakfast looked yummy, but we decided to eat elsewhere.
I enjoy staying here. Very friendly staff. Love the sliding doors and a small patio wtih table and chairs. Feels private and peaceful. My husban and I love staying here. A restaurant and a mini mart right across the street! Love staying here and will continue staying here for many more trips!
i have 3 kids so the room seemed pretty small. the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned. i had to clean it myself. their were no bags in the trash cans. the thermostat was broken on the fridge and it froze everything.they were doing construction on the outside of the hotel so it was kinda loud. the walls were really thin and i could hear the people next door and above me. besides that the room was nice and i liked how there was a sliding glass door leading outside. the beds were really comfortable. and i liked how the lights could be dimmed and had a timer that turned the bathroom lights off.
There were 8 of us who stayed here the last week of April. Great place. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was very good with much variety. The grounds and pool area were beautiful and well kept. Even though it was chilly, I took a short swim. Quiet for being close to the freeway.
Great Room. Helpful, competent, cheerful staff. Hot breakfast included each morning. Convenient location near Highway 101, Kmart, other shops, restaurants, and gas stations. The general manager, Todd, went out of his way to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I had a great stay and will definitely stay here on future visits to Santa Rosa.
Friendly receptionist and easy checkin. Room was clean but carpet was pulling out from the the moldings. Good shower/water pressure. All was going well until the couple in the next room came in. I could hear everything they said word for word. I could also hear their TV loud and clear. And just when they calmed down the guests in the room above came in. Every step across the floor was heard loud clear. I don't think you should have to hear every time the neighbor flushes their toilet. It's clean, it's safe, but it is loud.
The hotel was super easy to book I got a great deal on hotels tonight and when I called to reserve a specific room the staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location right next to the 101, near a gas station and food. The hotel is very nice, setup great, they have a heated pool and free breakfast. The lobby is neat, organized and very customer service oriented. The staff was great, very helpful and accommodating. The room was nicely kept; older furniture but in great shape. And when I booked a pet friendly room and they were not available the staff was very accommodating. The room was quiet, each room has a little deck. The gardening and Landscaping is great, it keeps away the noise of the highway . The stay was great, the bed was very comfortable, nice big bathroom and very quiet overall.
I happen to be disabled, with a spinal cord injury. This Inn has come to be my "Home away from Home",when in their area.I'm always safe and looked after by the caring staff. They've been so kind to me I'm humbled.I cannot,in words, express my appreciate to the staff my he artful appreciation I have for this group of people. The disabled rooms/suites are all newly refurbished and designed to enable travelers such as myself. There's also more than ample parking conveniently available.......
We have stayed here many times over the past few years and have always been happy with our stay. This trip our reservation was not in the system, probably my fault as I had booked rooms at several different Best Westerns locations at the same time, and they were kind enough to find us a room in a very full motel. It looked like they may have been updating and or remodeling some rooms so inventory I am sure was tight on a Saturday night in the "Wine Country" of Sonoma and Napa areas. The front desk person, Cathy I believe, was wonderful in taking care of us. As was Maria the following morning. Breakfast was hot with an assortment of breakfast items. If you are looking for a place close to the freeway with easy access in and out, this is a Great place to think about.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Even when an issue did arise (A burnt out light bulb that was smoking) the staff were quick to respond. The breakfasts were amazing as well. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are headed to Santa Rosa!
The only problem we encountered was the Oder in the room. It smelled stale or as if some one had smoked in the room. Other than that, great location, great price and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The property was dirty with very uncomfortable bed. I would not recommend staying at this Best Western. The only plus would be its easy access to the freeway. The property was pretty much empty but they put someone right above us, very noisey.
I have stayed at Best Westerns in CA and AZ and have always experienced clean and modern facilities. I was disappointed by this Best Western. The exterior was run down and the room furniture was nicked and stained.
Overall not a bad stay. Bed was awful. Not comfortable and linens were scratchy. Near a busy street, but overall noise wasn/ttoo bad. Immediate access to Hwy 101 south, an unusual access route to Hwy 101 north.
It is not the ritz, but for the price, it is very comfortable. The room was good sized and had everything you need for a good nights rest. They offer breakfast, but we didn't make it up in time to enjoy it.
I had a great stay at this Best Western Hotel, the lobby was welcoming and clean. The staff was helpful when checking in and out. The room was clean, modern and very comfortable. The location was very convenient to the freeway, restaurants, shopping and other things in the area. I would stay here again if I am in this area
We booked a night here so we can spend the weekend wine tasting. We had a great time and found the hotel to be easy to get to and very clean. I wish it was in warmer weather months as the heart shaped pool looked very inviting. The staff was nice, the breakfast decent (too much pepper in the food) and the room was comfortable w/ a small patio to finish our picnic and wine. We will be back here on next visit to the area.
This place was wayyy over priced. I paid 182.00 for one night and the room was NOT up to par. Very disappointing. If you don't mind the travel the B.W.has a great property in Rhonet Park that is nice.
the room was a little costly but overall i had no problems the staff was great, location was good.cant talk about the pool didnt use break fast got there about 20 mins before it closed was out of hot stuff.
Went for Valentine's weekend. What a mistake. Staff did not make up room on one day. The second day - did a perfunctory cleaning. When we complained about it to hotel staff - not interested in correcting issue - instead they were very argumentative.
Very happy with all, and the breakfast options very plentiful, by far the best inclusive breakfast I have experienced. [ Must try the pancake machine, wish I could buy one for home ! ] Staff was fantastic and very helpful. Location ideal for day trips in the region.
I wanted to give it a very good because the amenities and service are stellar, but the outside appearance and maintenance and location pulls it down to average. Breakfast was great, free internet, pool and amenities very good and room accommodations have a pastoral inward view of pool and landscaped areas, location is good for travel but it's in more of an urban area right by the freeway. Reasonable value for the area.
recently spent a week in Santa Rosa and choose the hotel to stay in. The room was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful when I had a question and the bed was comfortable. Price was very reasonable as well
I stay here once a week. Very clean and accommodating. Nice people, clean room, never a problem. Would recommend to anyone. There is a restaurant across the street also, so you don't have to go far for food. Nice pool area, and you get a small balcony. Pretty quite place also.
This hotel was OK. I did find that it was over priced in comparison with other hotels we stayed in the previous week. In our room, baseboard in closet was broken/crushed and not repaired. For a PLUS, seemed a little shabby. I DO find that BW pet rooms, generally, are often less appealing/clean/etc. than those for other travelers. It would seem that MORE effort at cleanliness would be in order, rather than less. At least, this one didn't smell bad.
My husband and I traveled to the area for his business. I booked this hotel online, I looked at the pictures of the rooms, and choose the king suite, it looked to nice and inviting! When we drove into the front of the hotel, It looked pretty run down, and I thought "what the heck did I get us in to?!" Walking into the lobby I could tell that was refurbished, and hoped the rest of the hotel was like this as well, and that the pictures of our room were accurate. THEY WERE! we walked into our room, it was clean, and neat, updated! A large Jacuzzi tub was just to the left as we walked in, there was a bar with a fridge, microwave and sink. The living room area is spacious with a couch and coffe table, there was a sliding glass door going straight out to the private patio with a table and 2 chairs. The master suite was in a separate area, which holds a king size bed (that had the cutest little towel art on it with a heart and swan made out of towels, kinda like you see on a cruise ship), another TV and a desk area, as well as a desk and sitting chair, there was a couple areas for luggage, a decent sized closet, and a bathroom with a toilet and shower as well as a separate bathroom sink. Nice decor, and crown molding. OH and there was a second sliding glass door off the master that had a 2nd private patio. We had a pool view, and could hear the fountains off in the distance, very relaxing. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was after seeing the outbuilding looked older and outdated. If we are in the area again, we would stay here again! There is a Taco bell, Arbys, McDonald's, Gas station, Starbucks, and Khols all within walking distance.
My husband and I stayed here for one night on our way through Santa Rosa. We didn't stay in Geyserville because the reviews we read indicated we would be better off in Santa Rosa - wrong! This motel looks great via their web description and it's fairly pricey as well. It's a BW Plus so we thought we would be getting some first class BW treatments - also wrong. It's an old motel, and definitely needs some remodeling. For example, the security lock on our door (which leads outside to the back of the building) had been damaged so that once you managed to lock it you had a terrible time trying to get it open again. The bedding was flimsy, the sheets were thin and scratchy, the room furniture dated, there was an old musty smell to the room, the heater/ac worked but the controls were all scratched up..... We had just stayed at a Hampton Inn in Arcata and expected the same level of stay - very wrong indeed.
The area isn't great but the hotel amenities make it more comfortable. The rooms themselves are comfortable but both times we stayed here we experienced problems - first time was a plumbing problem that caused the toilet to constantly overflow and the second was an electrical problem with the lamps that caused great concern and a restless night as no one showed up to address.
Took them 4 tries to get me a clean, non-smoking room. Would have gone to another hotel if they weren't all fully booked at that point. The lady at the front was friendly but before going to the 3rd room she checked it out for me, said it was clean and non-smoking, but as soon as I went it, the room smelled terrible. Will not come back here again if I can help it.
Good service and breakfast. However beds are not comfy and facility could use an update. Never used the swimming pool and it looks warm and good. Nice and polite staff. Better with 2nd floor rooms. The location is good.
happy we chose BW Wine Country Inn & Suites for our Christmas night stay over. It will be our choice again next year. After Christmas dinner with family it is so nice not to drive back home after dark
Friendly staff and the room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was better than we expected. The one complaint is that the hot water in the shower was inconsistent. We'd stay there again if we found ourselves in Santa Rosa again.
A group of girlfriends and I spent the weekend here in November in two of the beautiful suites. It was only a 20 minute limo drive to our wine tasting destinations in the Sonoma Valley. The suites were perfect for us, with the spacious living room area to gather in while getting ready to head to dinner in Downtown Santa Rosa. The staff was very friendly and we will definitely stay on future trips!
We paid 176.00 for a suite at this best western. The jacuzzi bath had pink slime and hair in the Jets. The floors looked as though they hadn't been swept or mopped and there was stuff spattered all over the wall behind the trash. Also there was dirt on the sheets when we pulled them back. ( photo below)I was super bummed that I wasted my hard earned money. The room has a nice layout for our family. It just needed a little more care. Very out dated and needed a good cleaning.
Wonderful stay! Our suite was perfect to accommodate a gathering of friends. Rates are very reasonable , and the location is perfect for a day of wine tasting and an evening on the town. We'll definitely be back!
this hotel had much higher ratings than it deserved-- the room was very small for having 2 queen-sized beds in it, the bathroom was tiny and had a very low-flow shower head that made showering take longer-- took forever to get shampoo and conditioner out of longer hair, which meant longer showers. The bathroom was also not heated, which made for very cold bathing during 30-40 degree weather. The location is fantastic, and it was nice to have breakfast available, but having rooms opening out onto exterior hallways is not kid-friendly and this should be mentioned in the description. I know, it's a Best Western and isn't a luxury brand, but it felt more like a Motel 6-- disappointing even for Best Western.
This review is for the hotel, but mostly for Maria Garcia. The hotel itself is what youd expect from Best Western- clean and tight. What you dont usually get is exceptional customer service from an underpaid and underappreciated staff. There was no end to Ms. Garcia's going out of her way to make my stay as productive as possible. I needed an extra hour in the room- done. I needed to leave a car overnight- done. I needed to use the ice machine to fill a cooler- done. She, and the other staff at this place are great people and I hope management recognizes them as such. Im going to return here, not because I love the rooms (which were fine), but because great staff made my stay effortless. That's you Maria.
Facility is showing its age, but fine for one or two nights. Landscaping needs a cleanup. Decent breakfast. Quiet location with fast food nearby. Comfortable bed. sd;fkf';glkas'[pgfkad.vkjroitjerpgk;lvm';lajfg[arkt;l,mv;'ldmvlm ;'aflgkj[ajg'fkjfk;LKERUGPRTK
The condition of the units and walkways are akin to the saying "lipstick on a pig". Deadbolts on the doors that don't latch, hallways filthy dirty and in need of repair. Issues with the remote control for the TV. Watered down coffee and orange juice for breakfast along with bacon that's so thin and tough it's hard to chew. Wouldn't stay there again!
We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room. We rented a suite which was quite comfortable. It was well designed with a living area with couch, chairs, desk and TV plus an additional TV in the bedroom. Very nice 2 person jetted tub was a nice bonus. The rooms were clean and well appointed.
We had a non-smoking room and the entire bathroom and sink area reeked -- not of old smoke, but new smoke coming from somewhere undetectable. Just ghastly. Yes, the hotel publicizes it is smoking and non, but if you hate secondhand smoke (yes, it kills), don't stay here. The ice machine worked but was half-broken, the toilet backed up (but Lucy swung into action when we called), breakfast was better than most BWs, no hot tub but a decent enough workout room. Just too bad about those smokers, who still don't know what a menace they are to the rest of the world working hard to stay alive.
Great staff tried the Motel 6s that were past terrible. I called and they got me a room late at night ASAP. What do you know wven with air conditioning. No more Motel 6 here anyway. Thank you very much!!
No other hotel for us in the area. The rooms are wonderful but it is the staff's consistently professional yet warm and personable attitudes that will bring us back again and again. It is not just a job for them. They care and will do whatever they can to help. It feels more like going "home" than to a hotel.
Stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding in Healdsburg. We were not in the room very much so all I can contribute is that the beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, location was good, I think there was a fast food restaurant close by. Our room had a small patio that lead out to the pool. I had booked this room way in advanced because of the harvest season was in full swing and all hotels in area were expensive. This was about middle of the road. The Santa Rosa airport was close by.
This was a sweet hotel just on the outside of Santa Rosa and the main airport. Although the rooms were fairly plain they had coffee and a fridge and a microwave. They were very clean and quiet. The towels were new and soft so the shower was a good one. Breakfast was a very nice surprise and included in the very reasonable price. A fully cooked spread with eggs, sausage and biscuits, hash browns and bacon. Along with the normal juices, toast, bagels, cereals and sweet rolls. The room was big, clean and filled by courteous staff. There was also an outdoor pool and a large fitness room. In all a good experience for a quick stay over. It was a 5 min ride to airport and the same to the historic district.
Nice hotel for the money. We were expecting a much more resort like hotel based on the photos from the website but overall it was a pleasant experience. The location is a bit difficult to maneuver with traffic but we learned a few tricks and appreciated its proximity to restaurants, retail and freeway access.
We stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Rooms are old, need renovation. The smell of z room was horrible, looks like someone has been smoking in it. The breakfast is a disaster specialy for the price we paid. Wouldn't stay in it again.
Looking for a great hotel at a great price in the heart of wine country? This is it!! The room are meticulously clean; the staff fantastic and helpful; the grounds very nice. The free daily breakfast is much more than the basic continental breakfasts offered by most hotel chains. Breakfast offerings include fresh pancakes, two egg dishes, bacon, creamed beef gravy, yogurt, juices, hash browns, English muffins, bagels, and fresh coffee. This alone would safe a family of four at least $30 a day based on local restaurant prices, The hotel's location is perfect, Located one block from highway 101 approximately 20 minutes from vineyards in all directions, 20 minutes to the Russian River, 35 minutes to Pacific Ocean sights (Jenner, Bodega Bay), There are higher prices hotels in the area that don't offer what this one does,
I stayed overnight at this hotel and it was comfortable. Each room has patio with two chairs and a small table that overlooks the garden/swimming pool, depending on where your room is located. Aside from this, I was most impress with the breakfast room. There are plenty of tables that can accommodate a group of 4 or 5 people. There are additional tables outside if you feel incline to enjoy the weather. Hot breakfast and waffle maker are the two essentials that I look for, and this hotel has them.
The room we stayed in was spacious with sliding doors out to a patio that had a table and chairs. Nice size TV with good amount of channels, a mini fridge and microwave. Also as always BW front desk staff were great; Wifi is included in the hotel rate, 2 waters in the fridge as well as breakfast in the breakfast room. This may not have been the best "Plus" Best Western hotel we have stayed in because they usually have a more upscale feel to them but I felt the little extras I mentioned made it a comfortable and pleasant stay.
This hotel is rated as a Best Western Plus, but we felt it fell short of that rating. The beds were not comfortable - the bed linens and towels were thin and in poor condition - the hotel feels cheap even though the décor is nice and the price is not cheap.
I have stayed at this hotel before and was not terribly impressed. My room was bottom floor by the street, it was loud and the room was old. I stayed again about 6 months later on a upstairs outer room and the difference was like night and day. Rooms upstairs had been recently remodled, nothing fancy but nice and clean and modern. My room had a lttle patio facing the inner court yard I believe the room was 242. Overall the quality and the price was good and the room was quiet. Breakfast was pretty good with a decent variety of items in a good amount of space to eat and get around. The exterior will fool you, but the inside is nice, don't judge this book by its cover.
Very old hotel. Room was musty smelling. Shower very difficult to operate. Brute strength needed to get handle to turn on. Bed sagged when we sat on it and was very uncomfortable. Enjoyed the veggies in egg mixture for breakfast... a highlight. Staff was friendly but when unable to answer a question about room rate eligibility her co-worker was abrupt and barked out that they don't honor rates in question. Somehow that was offensive to ask.
have stayed here a couple of times. staff is always friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable. breakfast is very good.. overall a great place to stay. theyhave a good location, and starbucks Is right next door
When I first booked the reservation, I reserved a room for Friday and Saturday night. I made a follow-up call to extend the reservation to include Thursday and Sunday night. Rather than booking it as one stay, the staff member booked three separate reservations that resulted in the annoyance of having to check in and check out for each reservation. During our stay, Friday afternoon, our shower handle broke. We had to call twice before someone came to fix it, and while the maintenance man was diligent in trying to repair it, it was not fixed until the following day and we were never told when we could expect it to be fixed. While a broken shower is an inconvenience as is, we were staying at the hotel as part of a bridal party, and the wedding was all day Saturday. With a still broken shower Saturday morning, my friend (another bridesmaid) and I had to scramble to other friends' rooms to shower for the day. Additionally, the only set of clean towels we saw the entire duration of our stay was the first day. Visibly dirty towels were not replaced, and it appeared that used towels we had placed on the ground or on our beds were just re-hung. We were extremely dissatisfied with our overall stay.
We stayed at this property for 3 nights for the first time and really enjoyed our stay. This is a "Old School" drive up hotel which we really liked the convenience of. There is a second floor with no elevator, so we requested a first floor room and it was given to us. Our patio room was right across from the pool and breakfast room. Our patio had 2 chairs and a table to sit. The grounds of the hotel are really nicely landscaped with pretty flowers and fountains. The pool was really too cold for me to go in even at 100+ degrees outside temp.(the pool was not heated) We had a king bed room with a frig. and a microwave. We received upon check in a "goody" bag with a few snacks and a wine opener. Nice touch. There were also 2 bottles of water in the refrigerator complimentary and replaced each day. The breakfast room is very large and there is also an outside patio to dine at.The breakfast was served from 6am to 9:30am M-F. Bananas or apples, juice machine, coffee with flavored creamers, bagels, breads to toast,cereal,yogurt,2 kinds of scrambled eggs;one with cheese, one with peppers hash browns,,bacon or sausage, depending on the day., & a pancake maker. The breakfast really hit the spot, many choices. The hotel also has a few meeting rooms and a fitness room. There is coffee and cookies in the lobby in the afternoon. We chose this location because it was centrally located to go to the North wineries and the South wineries. The wi fi worked great in the room and on the patio. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. The room was a little dark and could have used more lights, but we loved the light above the bed. We were pleasantly surprised at how we loved our stay here.
I read a couple negative reviews, so I was hesitant, but was pleasantly surprised (or lucky). Yes, the building appears to be a bit old, but I was tickled by the interior courtyard arrangement and how the rooms were cut to accommodate a small private patio. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms appeared to be recently remodeled. There was some new paint on an old accommodation as someone previously mentioned, but it was done very tastefully.
This is not the typical Best Western architectural layout. I believe it may have been converted from another hotel brand. The access to the premises is a little difficult but doable with some minor effort. Coming off the Southbound 101 freeway requires a right turn at the traffic light and then an immediate turn to the left across a busy street into the hotel parking lot. It is a two story hotel without an elevator. The breakfast was good and served early starting at 6 am.
