Paid thru Expedia, Mastercard for stay Oct 9th. New trainee was at the counter Got home to find an additional charge on my card for a deposit Phoned hotel Oct 21st and told hotel had processed a reversal and the deposit would show on my statement, and that I needed to follow-up with Mastercard. M/C told me I need a copy of the credit note and that normally deposit/holds never hit your card as a charge. Phoned again Nov 18th left details regarding both charges, name and phone number, told Manager would call me back Phoned again today, Nov 22nd rang several times and then hung up automatically. Very Frustrating.... Don't know who the CEO of Best Western is yet... but if this keeps up I will. Was travelling with my 80plus year-end old Mom, trust me there were no damages, just give me my money back
I stayed at this place in room 321 and had a mouse running around the room!! I contacted the front desk, they offered me a room across the hall, like the rodent was coming over there??? Really how does a mouse make it to the third floor?? Several other nice hotels in the area, don't stay here!!
Very good location, a lot of stores and restaurants nearby. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Very clean. Bathroom was a little bit weird. Looks like they recently replaced a bathtub with a new shower cabin, which is really nice, but looks like they have not finished the job and forgot about it as the area around the shower still need some finishing touches. Breakfast area is big, a lot of seats. A little bit unusual as it takes half of the foyer and you have to go through it if you live in the left side of the building. The breakfast was very good: scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles, yogurt, pastries, fruits. Nice coffee from the machine, good juice. Will gladly stay here again when in this area.
Check in was quick, the staff was friendly. But while waiting in the lobby to check in I had killed 2 spiders, when we got to our room, the smell of moisture and mildew was present but not overwhelming. There were multiple spider webs in the corners, the next morning I killed a large spider in the bathroom. We only spent 6.5 hours in the hotel, 5 of which we were sleeping and I killed 3 spiders in that time.
The hotel is short-staffed, but incredibly friendly. The TV in our room didn't work because someone had ripped out the cable attachment. Fortunately, our travel companion was too tired to watch TV, so we switched rooms which was nice. Overall, it was a pleasant place to stay and the breakfast was really good, too! I'd recommend this place!
The Best Western is located on Jefferson road, right near RIT and many shops. The location is very convenient and there is a new Shake Shack nereby! The staff, Angela and Robin, were very efficient and helpful. They were absolutely delightful and they handled every request with a big smile and a wonderful attitude. I am very persnickety about cleanliness and the Best Western made the grade. The room was very, very clean and the shower shined. I constantly saw staff mopping and vacuuming and tidying up the hotel. I got a 2 queen bed room and it was just right. There is a mini fridge, a microwave, a hair dryer and a small coffee pot. The sink is actually outside of the bathroom, which was great, because someone could shower and use the bathroom in privacy while another person was brushing their teeth. All and all, this was a very, very pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel.
Our second time for an overnight before a morning flight out. We used to go the Best Westen right across from the airport and after very poor customer service had to change to a much better Best Western, 10 minutes from the airport & well worth it. Rooms very nice and clean. The front girl check in is very happy, friendly & helpful.
We visit the Henrietta area at least once a year. Our usual motel, which has gone downhill over the years, now has even worse ratings. The tired this Best Western and were very happy. The check-in was quick and the staff was friendly. The room was clean. There was a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine.
We hadn't been to Rochester for years, so thought we would go back to our old reliable area, on Jefferson. I was a little apprehensive on booking, as I'd seen some not so nice reviews. The place was ok, we were welcomed on arrival by a very busy staff member Robin, and enjoyed our stay. Our room was quiet, even though next to the elevator, everything worked, and how much can you ask for.
The hotel gave me a connecting room although I never asked for it. I understand connecting rooms' door is locked from both sides, but it is still quite uneasy to stay in a room that has a connecting door to another room with strangers. Such rooms are meant for people traveling with families who book multiple rooms, not for someone travelling as a couple.
The hotel is dirty. The hotel is old and in need of a refresh. We stayed for one week. June 26th - July 3rd. The hotel is not a four star hotel. If you are looking for a 4 star, this is not the hotel. We trusted the review system and were disappointed. We had to get towels from the front desk because our room was never cleaned by cleaning crew. We finally asked for new sheets the day before we were going to leave. Being there for 1 week and no room cleaning. A spider web was on the badge sensor to get into the hotel the entire week we were there. The breakfast service was good but the cleaning staff appeared to be doing only the minimum. The result is a dirty hotel. By the end of our stay we had a stain in our toilet. We were in and out of our room during our stay. Most days for many hours. There was time to get into our room and clean it. We would have left our room if requested to get room clean. Very disappointed.
My husband and I stay here as a get away every month. We have been doing this as a little retreat for the last year and a half. We love it. The service and people ate great. Never any issues.
Disabled parking dud not have flat access to sidewalk and required extra walking. Needed to use clothespins to keep drapes closed. Drawers in room did not open. Toilet seat was extremely low and bathroom was not ADA compliant. Staff did the best they could and was helpful.
Two concerns on this stay. One: there was a $100 deposit required, more than the cost of the room for the one night, and this deposit policy is not indicated on the hotel's website. Normally, when there are atypical policies like this, that deposit policy can be found there. I always check when making reservations, so it was upsetting to be caught off guard. More upsetting, however, was the lack of any running water the following morning. I could not take a shower at all. Apparently they were installing some new showers in other rooms and turned off the water for the entire property in the final two hours in the morning before checkout. It is completely wrong to have taken my money and not either provided for a shower (and water!) or a reduction in rate. Normally, if there will be an outage, hotels inform guests the evening before or have a flyer placed in the room or under the door that notes the upcoming outage. None of that happened there, and the desk agent made it sound like travelers to this hotel should expect things like that, and indicated the hotel was not responsible. I disagree and will not be staying here in the future.
The property is mediocre at best. I stayed there on an off-week and I saw one staff person the entire time. The rooms are okay. Housekeeping must not have closed the window, or not noticed a previous guest had propped the window open. The sound of the traffic outside was unbearable until I discovered the ajar window, then it was slightly better. The rooms clearly have not been updated in a decade or more. The parking lot was in poor condition. Vehicle charging stations were tucked in the back of the hotel behind a wall that made it feel very sketchy. I don't think I will be staying at this hotel again on my next trips to Rochester.
Checked in late in the evening and when we got to the room, there were no sheets on the bed, no pillows. And who knows if it was even cleaned. When I went downstairs to complain, front desk (different person who checked me in), said they would have to cancel my reservation and rebook me at the new and way higher rate. WHY WOULD I WANT THAT?!? Especially that this is their fault. I booked this hotel room months ago. It made no sense. At the end of it all, the front desk person was the one who ended up just putting sheets on the bed. It was ridiculous.
Clean, well equipped amenities, nice buffet breakfast and tidy rooms. Bed was very comfortable - I slept better than when I am at home. Excellent BBQ two doors down too. In fact, everything you need is close, although I wouldn't suggest walking due to traffic.
This hotel is not family friendly. We stayed with our 12u travel team & we were harassed by staff several times. Asked to leave the front common area which was the only place large enough for our kids and families to convene.
The best thing about this hotel is really caring staff, in addition to being in a good location (easy access to highway and proximity to restaurants and shopping). Asim at check-in was very friendly and welcoming. In the morning, I saw Robin was constantly moving around to check on breakfast items. While she was doing that, she noticed that somebody could not move her car with the heavy snow from previous night. She rushed outside to help her and came back to continue checking on breakfast items. I noticed she was caring to all guests personally. Later, I noticed that she was calling another BW hotel for a customer who needed accessible room to make sure they had available room for him. Another nice thing I noticed when I was checking out was a bucket with snow brushes near the door so that the guests could clean out their cars from heavy snow from last night. Having caring and welcoming staff is always nice, but it was specially heartwarming for guests who had to deal with the heavy snowstorm the night before.
This hotel is one of the noisiest places I've stayed & I travel a lot. Spread the guests out across rooms when there are plenty of empty rooms. Overall, quality is good although hotel definitely showing its age.
This is the second stay at this location. The hotel itself is tired and in need of updating. I do note that the (included) breakfast was more appealing this trip than last. However, what brought me back to this particular place was the service I had received from front desk personnel during my last visit. And true to that standard, once again pretty much the ONLY reason I would choose this place over some of the more upscale venues is that the employees are first rate. Last visit (about 18 months ago give or take) it was Deirdre at the desk and one other delightful woman whose name eludes me at the moment. So this time I was determined to remember the names of the individuals who were so responsive and helpful: Angela and Robin. They took pains to see we were comfortable, adjusted our check-out time after we explained that we had to change plans due to car trouble - and then went with the flow when we needed to change them again - all with a smile and a genuine customer focus. This dedication to the guest's comfort can't be purchased by simply offering someone a high wage. The people have to understand what service looks like and feels like to the guest. Someone is doing a good job of screening and training this hotel's employees. The industry is fickle and demanding and it takes special people to be in its service. Many thanks Angela and Robin for your attention and courtesy. WalkabilityAs the name of the hotel implies, there is an adjacent marketplace with unusual stores.
Excellent service. Great staff and very attentive. Robin always working hard and making sure the breakfast area was full and stock. Room was nice and clean. Housekeeping are very friendly and hard workers.
Staff was attentive. Room was clean. Breakfast was delicious, I love the waffle machine. Robin at the front desk is a hard worked, never stopped. She always care about the guest. Matt on the night shift was also hard worker.
It is an affordable hotel room, but it lacks upgrades and amenities at other Best Western locations. My room still had towels left over in the bathroom from the prior guest. It was clean enough, but definitely needs updates.
Good location. Otherwise, very few positives. Rooms and bathrooms need upgrades. Breakfast food only 6am-9am, supply of food poor and not cosistently restocked. Trucks allowed to park across 5-6 parking spots. "Service" dog off leash on property and hallways. Did not get the king room I had booked.
First off we didn't stay, only because the hotel was fully booked. So why am I reviewing, you wonder? We had just driven 400 miles and needed a place to stay and charge our vehicle. They had two charging spots open, so we pulled into one and plugged in before we went to the lobby and found out they were full. The hotel across the road had vacancy but no open chargers. The staff at Best Western suggested we leave our car overnight, even though there was no way to reimburse them for the electricity we use (it's a perk for customers, but the stations are not metered). They even invited us to come over and have breakfast on them in the morning when we get our car (we didn't take them up on this generous offer). If we are back in Rochester, this is the first place we will stay.
We try to stay at Best Western when we travel because the places are usually a good value and a good place to stay overall. This one was was a disappointment. Very unsatisfied. Unclean, in disrepair and noisy
Right on the main road of Henrietta, this Best Western is a good value for the stay (being generally cheaper than others in the area, to begin with, and nice on top of that). If you know Jefferson Street, you know it can be hard to get in and out of places at times, but they're right at a traffic signal, so it was a nice spot all around. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and you can tell that they enjoy what they do.
While not my first choice, this hotel was all that was available on a busy weekend, and it is close to our route and our destination. It is by no means luxurious, and there were minor repairs needed throughout. The door to the room was gouged around the handle, sink stopper didn't hold, bathroom door didn't lock, minor things. Breakfast offered cereals, baked goods, waffles, eggs and sausage, but the coffee, tea and water were available 24/7. It was quiet, the tv worked, but it just feels shabby and rundown. It depends on the travelers' needs and the cost if this hotel is worth the stay.
While the women who checked us in at night was really nice the manager is the complete opposite. The bathroom had mole in the corner and we told the General Manager Levent Altintas about it on the first day of our stay. When we got back to the hotel late at night nothing was done. When I ask why nothing was done the next mornin, Levent came up with excuses but no answers. He said he told someone and assume it was done. But he did not do his job to check. He also seemed not to care about it or do anything about it. Needless to say as my daughter attends college here, I know where not to stay. Breakfast was serviceable and like snacks you get when check in.
Stayed here for 2 nights for "Accepted student" day at RIT. For the price, 1 night with 20,000 points, which seems pretty high for this place, and $95, which seems fair, you get a small bathroom that if you are sitting on the toilet you can touch 1 wall and the tub at the same time, with your knees, very narrow, The sink in the bedroom area is about 1' deep and 1.5' wide. There are too many other options nearby to stay here unless you are really on a tight budget. West part, I'm staying here next month for my other child's graduation, and they are charging me $200-$250 per night for 3 nights. For a closet. Will be my last time staying here ever, and my kid will start a 5 year program in August.
Excellent stuff great breakfast and I want to thank Angela for everything and helping me when I needed her help and also checking on me after she is so caring and did her job very well and professional
Although the facility is clean, the facility caters to construction workers, students , long distance truckers, and athletes. The mediocre unsupervised breakfast buffet was populated with young children sneezing on the food, touching their noses , then picking up and dropping their utensils, without adult supervision. Some of the parents also exhibited questionable behavior. In fact , I got very sick from eating there. They have only one handicapped room. Suggestions for better practice were met with hostility. Manager is arrogant, unkind and unsatisfactory at keeping his employees and guests in line. Crazy people make bad neighbors and I encountered weird guests daily here. Not going back. Learned my lesson. This location is Not a good example for the brand. Face it : one doesn't always get a good value from budget hotels, especially in college towns. Read reviews carefully. Post reviews promptly and with candor.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We're from Arlington Texas visiting my daughters and do this every year so the hotel we stay at is very important, how clean and the service it provides us while we are in ROCHESTER.
It has a convenient location and is close to restaurants, schools and stores but quiet. It's also close to the freeway and highways. Staffs are warm and friendly with prompt reply. It provides basic continental breakfast.
Nice hotel - easy check-in - very friendly staff. The Friday night was very quiet. Saturday was awoken by partying ? or fighting ? in next hotel room. I didn't complain or call the front desk. I eventually fell back asleep. The breakfast was great - attended by efficient staff & nice variety.
Great stay and great staff. Always willing to help in everyway. Hotel is always clean and tidy. fitness center could do with an upgrade but thats a small ask. Breakfast is wonderful and loads of choices for guests.
I'm a frequent visitor to this hotel, usually with a party of 5-8 people. It's a great location, close to many stores, pubs, and restaurants and not far from the airport. The staff are always cheerful and courteous, and I am particularly happy to see that Angela and Robin (front desk/reception) are still working there. They greet us like old friends and are always happy to help out with whatever we need. Some of the rooms are more recently updated than others, but all of our (five) rooms were clean and comfortable. Particularly liked the pillows! For safety reason they are not making up rooms daily, but we were able to get whatever we needed in the way of supplies at the front desk. It was very nice to see the manager Levent pitching in to help the housekeeping staff on a busy day when they were short staffed, he was distributing clean towels, emptying trash bins, and taking requests for anything else guests might need. Safety protocols have also made the breakfast bar a bit abbreviated compared to years past, but the food was fresh, hot items were in fact hot, and everything was refilled often, I noted a billing error during checkout, but this was resolved to my satisfaction the following week. This hotel continues to be my go-to place in Rochester for many years.
Room was a little dated but clean. There was a hot breakfast with good choices. Would give it five stars except for the check in process. $100 was charged to credit card for incidentals. I don't think that was necessary since they already had my credit card info. Was also given a lot of “rules” at check in and the accompanying fines for breaking them. Don't smoke, don't sneak a dog in (twice)… didn't have the warm welcome feeling one would expect when checking into a hotel.
Several of us booked here for an event at RIT. I live in Canandaigua but I didn't want the long drive home at night, so I decided to stay here too. Discovered by way of a sign posted near the elevator that guests would not have water (no toilet, no sink, no shower) from 11 am to 5 pm. We had setup in the morning which involved hauling around tables and chairs, some quite dusty and needed cleaning, so we REALLY needed to get showered before the dinner event. But this was not going to be possible. Instead of coming back to the hotel in between, we had to descend on a participant who lives locally and use her shower. She was less than pleased to have six people using her one shower. We were told this was a scheduled maintenance, so if they knew about it in advance, why could they not email the guests before they arrived? I would have rated this a mid-size inconvenience, but I could not believe the attitude of the manager Levent. When your guests are paying for something they do not receive, and you are inconveniencing them, the way to reassure them that you do in fact care about the quality of their experience is to be pleasant and apologetic. They teach you that in any retail jobs. I'm sure there's a precise set of phrases you use to placate unhappy people. This guy didn't read the book. I must emphasize that we were not at all unpleasant or demanding, never raised our voices, merely asking questions, and Levent was surly and angry and snapped at us. Pretty unprofessional in any situation but especially when it is the hotel that caused the inconvenience. Now that I am reading other TripAdvisor reviews, I can see that this has been an ongoing issue. The water thing was a one time misfortune, but the manager is a fixture. There are a lot of hotels in Henrietta, why go to a place where someone's nasty to you? One extra star only because Angela and Robin at the front desk are very nice.
THE ROOM: Clean. Good bed. Toiletries provided. Fridge, no freezer section. Was able to get extra blanket. See notes about the TV below. CHECK IN: Very courteous. I needed to pull off the road in Rochester because I started to feel ill. I mentioned that to the front desk staff. She was very solicitous -- asked if I would prefer a room facing the street or in the back. THE BREAKFAST: Best I've had in a hotel at this price point. Fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, decent coffee and teas, bagels, waffles, cereal, juice options, etc. Nice breakfast space. THE BAD NEWS: Given that I was stuck there, I planned to watch TV. No guide to the TV in the room. I went to the desk to ask for one. She went out of her way to fetch me a guide. NOTHING in the guide matched the actual channels on the TV. NONE of the most basic channels were available, such as CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, TBS, TLC. The display on the screen was screwed up, too. There were two on-screen displays of the channel that was showing; two different shows were named and I couldn't tell if they were for the show that was displayed. I went back to the desk to ask about this. THEN she told me that they had recently upgraded/changed the TV system and it wasn't working well. Could have told me that when you gave me a useless guide. Could have told me that at check in. If she had, I would have gone somewhere else. There are several comparable hotels right down the street.
Terrible experience and treatment from Front Desk "manager". Booked a room while in transit and upon arrival front desk "manager" told us they were fully booked and room with 2 Queens not available. He then mentioned room with I King available but at nearly twice the price of our original booking. When we requested they honor our booked price he refused and became abrupt and disrespectful, then demanded we get our of his hotel as he had guests coming.. When my wife asked how we would go about getting a refund for our reservation he got louder and yelled for us to get out or he would call the police !!!
Worst Experience Ever!!!! At check in the evening manger was unable to control the abundance of kids in the lobby area. The room I was initially given smelled like sewer gas was leaking in it. The second room offered was much better. One of the kids pulled the fire alarm causing everyone to evacuate the hotel at midnight. The manager (Levent A.) stated that he would not offer any compensation for his patrons for the inconvenience.
Terrible treatment from the Manager of the hotel, one of the most disrespectful people I have ever dealt with. Will not stay there again as the room was filthy and spoke to him about it and he more or less said who cares. Staff was great but scared to do something wrong. Don't waste your money at this hotel.
Extremely awesome time, and the Staff (Angela & Robin) were right on point! While a few of the other management staff seemed extremely uptight! Other than that we really enjoyed ourselves! You are right in the area of so many Food places (Sticky Lips, Boston Market)..Right behind the Hotel is Genesee Valley Regional Market (Lori's health foods, Freihofer's Baking Co., Lee's Oriental grocery store, Cheesy Eddie's!
Stayed for the night with our 5 year old grandson while visiting Rochester area attractions. Rate was very reasonable. Close to all attractions and restaurants. Room was very clean. I need to add that our on site manager Angela was extremely friendly and professional.
Great location, friendly staff. Price better than most hotels. It was disappointing to know that if not for a few important things that were overlooked, this location would have been perfect overall..
We stayed just one night at the BW Rochester Marketplace Inn and that was good enough for me. The pros--the staff were very friendly and the rooms were (mostly updated). It's in a good location, just a few minutes off I-90, but in an area with a lot of restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was good (although crazy crowded)--it included eggs, bacon, waffle maker, bagels, muffins, cereal and fruit. The cons--the rooms were only mostly updated...my bathroom had peeling wallpaper and the fixtures were rusty. I didn't love that. Also, it was very, very noisy. We had some sort of sports teams staying in the hotel and they were running through the hallways and loud in the rooms around me until very late. and then the fire alarm went off early in the morning. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot of sleep and were actually on the road two hours earlier than planned.
Best Western Marketplace in Rochester is located close to all major highways and attractions. The staff is really friendly and helpful, and breakfast in the morning is stuffed with eggs, bacon and fresh fruits. For the price we pay, it is certainly better than most name branded hotels in the area. When we go back to the Finger Lakes area, we will stay there again.
Made my reservations online but then called to have modification and they made the changes without issue. Gave me information on the best time to arrive and when I left items in the room I called 7 hours later and the hotel manager went to the room and found the items and kept them at the front desk for me to pick up.
The reason I rated this hotel solo is not because of cleanliness or anything like that it's because we had teenagers running up and down the hallway banging on our door and the manager basically did nothing we will never stay there again we were treated very badly by the manager of the staff was wonderful but he just was very inappropriate
I made a hotel reservation for 2 nights (May 10 and May 11, 2022) at Best Western Rochester Marketplace Inn via AAA. I called the Best Western front desk (1-585-427-2700) and cancelled the reservation one day in advance of the check-in time. I spoke to a person at the front desk at Best Western. I received a cancellation number 67095. I requested an email confirmation. The front desk lady said since I made the reservation via AAA, they cannot send me an email of the cancellation. Now Best Western claims there was no cancellation call. Best Western also claims I made two reservations with the same name and the same check-in date. I also called AAA the same day to confirm the cancellation. AAA said there is no record of my reservation! I am charged for the hotel stay even though I made the cancellation.
The staff at the hotel were exceptional! We were always acknowledged and greeted with a smile. The ladies at the front desk, especially in the morning, did a great job multitasking (taking care of guests at the front desk and setting up for breakfast). We will definitely stay at this property again if our travels take us to the Rochester area.
We drove from 7 hours from Boston to Rochester to move our oldest child out of college for the summer. They had no issue saving our room for a late night arrival. When we checked in, I left my license accidentally at the front desk and the clerk called up to let me know and ask if they could bring it up to my room. The room itself was clean and modernly designed. The location is convenient to stores, restaurants and the university. The next day we decided to leave early after one day rather than staying a second night due to work conflicts and the front desk was completely accommodating - only charging for one night despite the last minute change. After we left, my teenager realized they had left one AirPod in the room and the front desk clerk walked up to the room and looked for it while we were on the phone. I was so impressed with their kindness and willingness to go the extra mile. Thank you!
With a headline like this, why aren't there 5 stars? Believe me it has nothing to do with the effort extended by the employees and management. From the executive manager (who I briefly met in the elevator) to the wonderful personalities of front desk staff Dee (short for Deidre) and the other young lady whose name eludes me (which bothers me because I wanted to mention her by name) to the welcoming housekeeping staff, these folks understand how much of a difference employee performance can make in a stay, no matter how brief. Four of us representing three generations of family stayed here (2 nights) to visit with my grandson who attends RIT. The issues I have with this hotel I expect may only be addressed at the corporate level. 1. The building, though sufficiently maintained, is tired and in need of remodeling or at the least a refreshing. This hotel is in a highly competitive environment and does not compare well with neighboring hotels in this regard. 2. The food served for "included" breakfast is not very good - barely fair. Other hotels handle this aspect better, though to be fair the general impression I get with mid-line hotels with an 'included with stay' breakfast is that the bar for the quality of the experience is quite low. The focus of the amenity is to check the 'yes breakfast is included box' and offer the lowest common denominator. Someone in corporate would be well advised to look into these problems. I believe that with a staff like the one they have and the clear examples of solid hotel management we experienced, the investment would be worthwhile. Would we stay there again? Absolutely! Welcoming, personable and professional employees really do make a difference. Absent their contribution to our total experience, we would likely book elsewhere.
So loud I could not get any rest. Not only was the adjoining room noisy, the maid was very loud in the hall talking laughing listening to music. Breakfast was extremely modest. Beds not very comfortable.
We've been staying at this Best Western at least twice a year for the past four years. We have been very happy since our first visit and there isn't any question on what hotel that we will be staying at in Rochester, NY.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The location used to be a great area, but unfortunately, the area of Marketplace is not longer a happening place. However, the location close to the thruway and the 390 makes it easy to get to wherever you need to go.
Awful place. Dingy, poorly appointed rooms with tiny bathroom sink by the room door and ugly, small bathroom. Horrible take away breakfast left my husband sick and me with spoiled coffee creamer. We have made arrangements elsewhere. Run away from this place.
This Best Western has a great staff and is in a great location. Rooms are always clean and staff warm and friendly. It is the best value for the money in my opinion. I have stayed here multiple times and will stay here again.
My family and I took a trip to New England this October. Though the scenery was indeed beautiful, we were going to inter my parents. This was a long trip from Iowa to Massachusetts and back. What I didn't know was that everybody else who wanted to travel at the same time would be picking the same routes and using the same facilities as we would be. However, with good advanced planning and the easy to use Best Western web site, we were able to make the majority of our reservations at Best Western properties. And though the properties were booked solid during the times we were there, our rooms were ready and the service was good. We were impressed.
The toilet leaks. The bathroom floor is slippery and wet. The door bolt does not lock. We only have the chain for a lock. It stinks in our room. The bed is broken down on one side from frequent use. It's a 2 star hotel for many reasons. ''Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Only stayed one night but it was a great last minute stay! We flew in late and were driving to another town the next morning. So it was a perfect place for us to stay for the night. Not too far from the airport, but far enough not to hear planes all night. It's also in a great location near stores, gas stations, restaurants, target, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Check in/out was quick and easy. Hotel seemed older but recently updated furniture, tv, etc.
The property was clean and the staff was nice and attentive. I had to change rooms because mine smelt like smoke....very strong cigarette smoke (and there is no smoking in the hotel). The night attendant stated I had to wait until morning to change rooms when the next manager was on duty. She offered me to come to my room and spray febreeze; which I accepted. The next day, I received a new room and still no towels. The later situation was quickly rectified. Overall below average experience from what i'm used to....
This is a basic hotel. The room was clean but old. The AC unit was so loud and sounded like an air freight carrier was landing every time it kicked on. The thermostat was also on the fritz. The big positive was the lone hotel manager. Considering how busy it was for college-move-in-day, I was surprised she was the only staff member on duty. High praise for her customer service. She really tried to provide the best customer service that she could. This is a budget friendly, conveniently located to UR, hotel. It is a 2 to 3 star hotel. We will probably stay there again due to being budget friendly and the location.
Bed was fine as was water pressure. That's it. No employees were wearing masks even though there are signs that say it's mandated. Only 1 towel available and no hand towel for a 2 person stay. When another towel was requested, we were informed that they were "out" and doing laundry. Hallway and neighbor's room smelled of cannabis and smoke in a non smoking property which caused breathing issues throughout the night. Will not be returning
My husband and I spent two nights at the Best Western about fifteen minutes from our house. Prospective buyers were looking at our house all weekend, and we figured it would be easier to just be out of the house altogether. It was kind of strange staying at a hotel so close to home! We showed up on a Friday afternoon looking for a room, and were given a nice-sized room with a king-sized bed, which en be ded up being very comfortable. Very clean room. There are many restaurants and stores close by to the hotel, and we walked over to Sticky Lips BBQ, one of our favorite restaurants, for dinner on Friday. Short walk, just a couple minutes. Slept so great we missed breakfast, but our daughter and her family dropped off doughnuts for us. We made it to breakfast the next morning, and ate in the spacious and sparkling clean dining area. No hot breakfast yet due to Covid-19, but lots of choices to either grab and go or sit and eat. Constant attention to cleaning up and replenishing supplies. Great coffee! The best part of staying at this hotel is the staff. So friendly and accommodating, it's obvious they truly want to make their guests happy. Great place to stay at a great price!
My wife and I spent one night here on our way home from visiting family. After a long day of driving, we were looking forward to dinner and a comfortable bed. Angela at the front desk was wonderful, helping me to apply some best western gift cards I had, which for some reason cannot be applied online at the time of booking. She offered us complimentary soft drinks and told us about some area restaurants, which we greatly appreciated. We were assigned to room 124 on the first floor, and while the room was a bit dated, the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The bathroom was tired, with peeling wallpaper and caulking, but as clean as possible in its condition. Towels were a bit thin and skimpy, but functional. Sink was just outside of bathroom, which is handy, and water pressure was good. Additionally there was a small fridge, but it wasn't particularly cold, despite our efforts to turn down the temp. Checkout was perfunctory, but fine. It's worth mentioning that my wife noticed when we got home to New Hampshire that she had left her personal pillow in the room. I attempted to call the hotel directly, but was immediately put on hold, where I waited until I felt that I had been forgotten. I called the Best Western customer service number twice and both times waited on hold for at least 15 minutes until I gave up. I left a voicemail message and a callback number, as well as an e-mail, but have heard nothing from either the hotel or guest services. I called the hotel again today and was told that no pillow had been found, but that they would call me back if it turned up. There is no doubt that we left the pillow here, but maybe they don't want to deal with the prospect of arranging a return of guest's belongings? While it was certainly our negligence having left the pillow behind, the inability to reach someone regarding the incident and the mysterious disappearance of the pillow itself have left sort of a bad taste in our mouths. We have had mixed experiences with Best Western in the past, and subsequently are often reluctant to stay with the chain. Between the gift card hassles, (which are not the fault of the hotels themselves), the property inconsistencies and this latest incident, I am less likely to stay here, or at Best Western in general, in the future. Despite all of this, I will reiterate that Angela at the front desk was the bright spot in an otherwise somewhat underwhelming experience.
Hotel is very clean, rooms are cleaned doors have a sticker to show they've been cleaned that rips when you first open the door. The front desk staff member was super nice! Made me feel very welcome, was very informative and made check in nice and easy.
This is a hotel that you stay at for a reason not because it's a great destination in itself. It's in strip-mall, chain restaurant/store city. That said, it was a comfortable room at a good price. The staff was polite and always wore masks around guests -- they did take them off when not around others, which is understandable, but always put them on when we approached. Breakfast was limited due to Covid, but they still had a pretty decent selection.
Good helpful and friendly staff. Room was clean and well decorated. Convenient location for food nearby. Internet worked well and the coffee was good. The elevator was a bit intimidating. But aren't they all?
The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The usual shampoo and lotion in the room also came with hand sanitizer and antiseptic wipes. Coffee and tea available 24 hours. Breakfast was cold foods and prepackaged to go bags were also available. I was happy they had this much considering COVID. Definitely would stay here again.
Home away from home experience with family and friends. Closest location to all center of attractions at the Market place. I enjoy my weekend. I look forward to another stay in another location very soon.
Upon arrival I went to my room and found long stringy hair All Over the bathroom. During a national pandemic this is very concerning and shows the overall cleanliness of the whole room. Went to the lobby and told the staff, which were accommodating and met my concerns as best they could. However, the Second room I went into, there was a dirty washcloth draped over the shower curtain rod, and the bed was sunken in beyond normal sleeping arrangement. The cleanliness is terrible and should be recognized during a pandemic and is very concerning.
This stay was done in a hurry the front desk lady was amazing she took good care and was very particular about our needs there pool here is amazing The biggest thing is being from another Best Western I may be picky but when I see good I tell it. Being a brand new best Western welcome to our family. Please visit our best Western in Des Moines any time this is a welcome place for Mayo.
I would recommend this hotel. The check in process was fast. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff members I've encountered were friendly. There was a lot of parking available. There is a lot of restaurants and fast food places on the same road.
I won't be back. Ouvious things in Hotel were dirty which makes me nervous that sanizing is not being done during the pandemic. Also ouvious items in need of repair like toilet seat missing one bolt and loose shower knob. Also put in room on top of others when social distancing is supposed to be in effect. No visible hand sanitizing stations available in public areas. No alternative breakfast options due to breakfast room being closed and was not told in advance there would be no breakfast at all.
I enjoyed the professional and reception of being welcome during crisis covid 19 and protest going on nationally. Staff kept us safe and inform by checking on us. Had a safe and peaceful night. No worries.
Recently stayed here again for the first time in over 10 years. The property is showing it's age and maintenance appears to have slipped since my last stay. Floors stained , wiring hanging in elevator with electric tape used to hold it up. Pictures missing in the room, tub constantly dripping in our room. That said the hotel was quiet for the most part the staff was friendly and the hotel fees where reasonable. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. I think the property is over due for a renovation.
I stayed with my son while visiting RIT, conveniently located to the school and restaurants. Very clean hotel , breakfast was good , friendly staff , the rooms were comfortable. Our toilet did not flush the knob was broken, when I called the front desk the staff member came running up with a new room key right away , I thought that great service fixing the problem right away . I would stay here again .
Drove all night arrived at 8am told front desk wanted a quiet room,Got room on first floor Outside was A dumpster, they were remodeling the 2nd and 3rd floors and were drinking everything to the dumpster And in the driveway in front of my room,it sounded like a construction site which it was.I have stayed at this Motel several times and have enjoyed my stay. I should of been told of construction as I got no sleep.
My child left clothing in the drawer. I called and they said they would contact the head of housekeeping. Said they keep items for 30-60 daysl No one called me back at all. I was willing to pay to ship the clothing but heard nothing. Called again and heard that the head of housekeeping was fired??? So, we lost our clothes. Thanks.......
I was looking for a hotel in Rochester to stay for a family get together. I did not want to stay at the suggestion. This hotel was so nice! Check in was very easy. The front desk person was friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean. A nice bed, refrigerator, coffee machine, and microwave. My only complaint, is the bathroom is so small. The sink is outside the bathroom. Its a little claustrophobic. The breakfast is good. Eggs (they were a little strange), pastries, cereal, fruit, potatoes, and meat. There is a coffee and hot water dispenser that is always on!! Even a juice machine that is always on. The lobby sells frozen dinners, soups, and drinks. This is good for the winter. You don't want to brave the cold when you are hungry. The staff is so very nice and helpful. It is walking distance to restaurants and stores. Nearby most of Rochester. I ubered around and had no problem. The price is really good. I will definitely stay here again, if I am in town.
Friendly staff. the hotel is located in the convenient area parking was easily accessible and the staff was extremely attentive. plenty of places to eat around the hotel as well as menus available at the front desk for ordering in
Nice place with friendly staff. It has had some upgrading since the last time we stayed here. The continental breakfast was okay. The sink and mirror are in the room so you can't use them if someone is sleeping. Good location.
Terrible new manager there's a reason why so many loyal customers have left best Western if you are diamond select means nothing here stayed 3 times a week for last 6months told manager about maid on 3floor yelling slamming tolet seat didn't care never complained anywhere else just this place told co-worker if I didn't like it I can stay somewhere else no problem that s what I did
Everything was wonderful as usual until we met with the new owner/manager. He is young and is guided by his father. They plan to make changes for business reasons and not for the good of the clientele. We are looking for another hotel to stay at while we visit our son at a nearby college.
The service was excellent, the hot breakfast was very good, the room was clean and we could control the temperature, there was plenty of hot water, everything works, no issues, the staff was kind, even cleared snow off of our car when they overheard us worrying about how we would do it as we had not brought a scraper. Just a wonderful place to stay, and they let you leave your car there if you are flying out of the airport after staying a night. Alas no shuttle to the airport, but still worth it. Highly recommended when coming in our out of Rochester.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby, breakfast area was always clean. The room was clean, not overly new, but updated and comfortable. It's close to a lot of places and walking distance to many restaurants.
When we visit the Rochester area, we always stay at this Best Western near the Marketplace. It is close to shopping areas, restaurants, and the University, The staff are friendly and helpful, and the price for the buck is better than all the hotels in the area. The newly renovated rooms are modern with nice decor, and the breakfast is fresh and plentiful. Thanks Best Western Marketplace, we will come back and stay there again next month.
Place redone but they left the old beds. Too high and hard. Feel all the springs. Mold un washroom. Washrooms are dated. Nice staff and great shopping location. Breakfast is not bad. Could use better coffee.
Such a lovely place to stay in Rochester. There is nothing wrong about this property. It is super clean, very well kept, comfortable, well furnished, and has amazinf staff. Angela at the front desk should get staff of the year award for not just this property but of all places around the town. Room was very spacious, clean, and very well furnished + stocked. Bathroom was clean, fixtures a little old though, however shower pressure was WOW. Breakfast was much better than what you get at these typenof places Staff make sure that your stay is made even more pleaseant. Rates were muh better than similar properties around the area. Definitely worth staying!!
Best Western has the nicest, cleanest, friendliest and affordable places to stay. We always look for a Best Western Property first. The workout rooms are very clean. From when you first walk into a Best Western until you walk out it is very honey and quiet.
Words are not enough. Messed up reservation.2 night room not cleaned. No telephone. TV did not work. Light shorting out - fire hazard. Rude FD staff. Manager tried to make it better, but kept getting worse. Moved to 3 different rooms the first 2 hours. Reserved hdcp room, did not get till nt 2, after I complained A LOT!!!!@@
We always choose this hotel when in the area. Clean. Good location. Attentive staff, friendly and helpful. Amenities are good. Free WiFi available, workout space with new equipment, clean and well kept. Rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful and comes with your stay.
Hotel was very clean and newly remodeled. Staff is friendly. Breakfast (quality and variety) was very good. Location convenient to RIT and UofR. I would stay again and recommend the hotel. Decent value for the money.
Nice place to stay - Room was great, good breakfast and attractive appearance. I was disappointed in how log it took to check out when leaving. I wanted a receipt but it took so long I finally just left my key card and walked out.
Arrived 9/27/19 Thank you Amanda and staff for making this a pleasurable stay. Your hard work and understanding inspite of the elevator challenge will be remembered!!! The hotel is well situated close to restaurants and shopping. The staff is very friendly and helpful
Thank you Amanda for taking care of us during our visit. Your customer service was excellent. Also thanks for the venue recommendation......we had a wonderful time. Will recommend this hotel to others
good location as it is right off the highway and close to shopping and eating establishments staff was excellent - helpful and friendly and warm room was spacious and homey - good nights sleep - but the bathroom could use some upgrades - nothing major however just age. would stay again if in the area
Reserved a two queen room but ended up with a two full size bed room. The beds were comfortable and room was generally clean but not spotless. We didn't mind that the hotel did nit have an elevator but it would have been nice for other guests if it was posted on the hotel web site. The breakfast was sparse. Probably won't stay here again.
On a long trip from Vermont to Wisconsin, we were looking for a hotel. The first hotel kept changing the cost every five minutes so we decided to try this one. Best Western was great: clean, great service and friendly staff.
We have stayed about 6 different weekends at this particular Best Western -always praised it. This past visit - house keeping entered our room with the Do Not Disturb sign in the lock. They took our towels and did not replace them. The next morning we had to wait for the towels to be washed and dried before we could shower, this delayed the time that we could leave for home. The feel of the staff was different, we understood why after we where told that they had a new manager.
The carpeting in this hotel is very old and full of allergens. The lighting in the rooms is very poor. Washrooms are extremely small. There is no pool on the premises. Not good for a vacation place. The walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbors TV and people in the hallway. Mattresses are old and soft.
We stayed here for a college move in and had stayed previously on a college visit. The hotel is good for the price. Convenient to colleges, shops, food. The beds are very comfortable. The room could use sprucing up. The curtains in our room were broken. The bathroom is very tiny with a sink area in the main room. The sink area has little space and difficult for more than one person to get ready or even brush teeth. There is a second separate mirror but no power outlets nearby for hairdryer, etc. Room could have been cleaner, bedside lamp dusty and fridge needed wiped down. Food container from previous guest was in the fridge. We had stayed in April and had a better experience. Still the breakfast was good and only comment there was there was no regular (unflavored) tea available.
Check this place out amazing super clean very well staffed excellent location breakfast is the best has everything you need amazing value I've stayed at all the other hotels this one wins I will never anywhere else
Provide a clean, comfortable place to stay. Mattress was so worn and uncomfortable. Big pit in the middle, swallowing the occupants, rolling us towards the center. Not a good night's sleep, and awoke with an aching back.
This hotel is a very nice place to stay. It is very clean. The staff is very welcoming and they make you feel like you are home. The breakfast bar is well stocked and clean. The rooms are very nice and the bed is very comfortable.
Very nice hotel. Very helpful staff. The free breakfast was very substantial for a free hotel breakfast.. The rooms where clean and comfortable. I needed to park my 6x12 trailer on the property and they where very accommodating and very helpful.
We were very pleased with the professionalism and courtesy given us. The continental breakfast was very good, with more options and variety than some hotels call a breakfast. The location is very convenient to the airport, restaurants and shopping.
Stayed one night while travelling back home. I have stayed at this hotel before, and was quite pleased with it. Certainly why I did not hesitate to stay again. It was a pleasant surprise to see the front lobby renovated as well as the rooms. The breakfast area has also undergone quite a change. This establishment is first class and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Very comfortable stay. Thanks to the staff.
The hotel is always clean and staff friendly. Too bad that the complimentary shuttle was eliminated as it was one of the reason I always choose the hotel for my stays when visiting my son in UR. Rooms are nice and clean.
Room was clean, pleasant, comfortable. Breakfast was fine, the attendants were friendly and warm. Quick drive to the college, easy location. Great price on booking.com. They changed my room promptly and without complaint (they had put me in the room right next to breakfast area and I thought it might be too noisy).
I had forgotten a transformer for my CPAP (medical equipment) They found it and took it to a FedEx for me to have it shipped to my home. This saves me considerable time and money. The place was clean, well lite. Great breakfast. The downside is that it has small bathrooms with the sink in the main room. Not my ideal layout but doable for a couple for a day. it was kind of pricey for the age of the place, but then again I was a walk-in and the other hotels in the area were full.
Stayed 4. Nights, room was clean. Breakfast was good, the beds we comfortable, bathroom was clean. Parking was a little expensive. Rooms we quiet at night, plenty of ice when needed. Overall we would stay here again
The situation could have turned this into a 1 star review but the manager and her staff like Angela went above and beyond to correct the error of losing my reservation and ensuring the rest of my stay was up to my standards. They were tentative and had some of the best customer service I have received in awhile again especially for when the situation started sour. Will recommend to anyone if passing through or needing a place to stay in Rochester
Fairly priced. The front desk staff was terrific. However, the cleaning staff was horrible. I went to my room and found a dirty coffee cup from a fast food restaurant in the drawer and a plastic sandwich bag in the bed between the sheets (good chance they weren't washed) and a dirty pillow. Called the front desk to explain and they were terribly sorry and gave me a new room. I was checking this room and found a bunch of junk (plastic bag, hand towels and lotion bottles) between the mattress and box spring. I left a note for the cleaning staff to please clean it the next day. They did not. I left a note again the following day. Still nothing. Next day (again with a note), same thing. I gave up. They just kept throwing my notes away. Then, I had empty cans and bottles, and they didn't take them out of the room when I had cleaned them up and left them on the floor. So again, I left a note to recycle and they did not and the garbages and hair in the shower hadn't been cleaned out on this day either. Overall, an alright stay, but maybe the cleaning staff needs to be audited or something.
The staff here is friendly and helpful, and it was a quick check in. The room was a good size, it was clean and the bed was comfy and it also had a fridge and microwave. I also found the room rate to be quite reasonable. The free breakfast in the morning is a bonus, not huge, but certainly enough to fuel you up before you leave. Waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, toast and fresh fruit. There is also quite a big eating area to accommodate a large number of people. There is lots of shopping and restaurants in the area, it's in a great location. I would certainly recommend Best Western Rochester Marketplace Inn to family and friends!!!
Staff was awesome, great breakfast spread. Lots of free parking and the htel was clean. Rooms are a good size, very clean. Bathroom is small, however practical. For the price it was a great value. Rooms are not fancy but practical and clean. Location is good too, has many stores and restaurants near by.
I was in a bind and had to cancel the room before my family checked in. I spoke to the manager whose name is Andrew Ciccone, this man couldn't have been nicer. Not only did he authorize a refund but he went beyond his responsibilities. He actually called Expedia a (3rd party vendor) for us and told them he approved the cancellation based on our situation and told them to please give us back a full refund. That is what I call amazing customer service. Andrew I hope upper management rewards your hard work because you truly are an amazing asset for this company. Best Western Marketplace Inn has a loyal customer for life. I am going to recommend and endorse this hotel to all our friends.
Nice people, good breakfast selection and a good value. Plenty of dining and shopping opportunities close to the property. One of our family members flew in and the proximity to the airport was also a convenience.
Spent 2 nights at BW while my son visited RIT for a campus tour. Rooms were nicely appointed, clean and quiet. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good, and had a nice variety of choices and dining area was clean. We will be returning any time we visit our son at college.
We were visiting family about 2 miles away so, the location was very convenient. I haven't stayed in a Best Western for a while so I was surprised and delighted to see the high-end appearance of the room. The two-bed room looked like a higher priced place with the bed linens, microwave, frig, TV, etc. It was a comfortable stay. The breakfast area is well organized with a breakfast bar in the middle. The hot food included eggs, potatoes, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and a waffle machine. There were juice choices, yogurt, pastries, bagels, and toast. If you were a cereal person, there was instant oatmeal and toppings as well as three kinds of cold cereal. The attendant for the area was kept busy cleaning and restocking. She does a great job. It was nice to see snacks, frozen meals. and ice cream for purchase right in the lobby if you were too tired to dine out.
Breakfast has many options. Bed and pillows are comfortable. the staff is fantastic and always make you feel welcomed. We have stayed here six times in the past year and already have two reservations for later dates.
This Best Western always makes their guests feel very welcome. The associate who takes care of the breakfast bar makes sure that it is keep very clean and well sticked. If This Best Western makes its guest feel very welcome. The associates who takes care of the breakfast bar keeps it very clean and well stocked. If you need anything the associates makes sure that you get it. The rooms are very clean. All the staff is very helpful. We enjoy coming to this Best Western.
Hotel is very modern and amenities are top notch. Customer service here is the best I've had and I travel a lot. Beds are comfy and wifi works well. I stay here every time I'm in the area. It's also right next door to sticky lips which is a great place for dinner and entertainment.
Just checked in today and wanted to say we are super thrilled by the hospitality of the front desk hostess Stephanie. She was a joy and very friendly in helping us and answering all our questions. Great location as well!
Lovely friendly staff and great quality rooms. We booked a twin room with plenty of space and very clean. Excellent buffet breakfast included, even had ‘free from' options. Would definitely recommend.
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and kept a friendly atmosphere for the entire facility. We were completely satisfied with the accommodations available. Thank you for having such a great facility in this location.
This is an older Best Western, but they are doing the best with what they have. Staff is super friendly and helpful; breakfast outstanding; Manager has a great personality. The room was clean and spacious, but the bathroom is old and very tiny, and the teeny sink area has no place to put toiletries. Bathroom aside, our stay was pleasant, parking free, bed comfortable and TV good. Price also very reasonable.
As the address says marketplace, and it is. Close to the mall, restaurants, fast food chains, stores and the interstate. Our stay was nice for it was our first time to stay next door by the breakfast lounge.
Everyone was beyond friendly There was a nice selection for the breakfast. There was a waffle machine, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, toast, muffins, sausage, cheese and salsa for the eggs, and juice.. The room was extremely clean. My only issues were the tub not draining properly and the eggs, and gravy were cold. It was a great price for what you get and a good location.
Toilet not secured to the floor, pubic hairs on the sink and washcloth, young adults screaming and slamming doors until 3am. TV didn't work. Food was not good. Left super early and showered at the hospital
Nice room. Friendly front desk staff. Left before breakfast. Would like to go back and stay a little longer, to try the restaurants behind it. And breakfast. Close to alot of stores and restaurants. Around the corner from Monroe Community College.
Excellent location. Very clean and updated. Unbelievable continental breakfast! Not just grab and go foods. Hot breakfast, many beverage choices large eat -in area. Excellent value. I'll definitely stay again!
Clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Great location to many shops and the Strong Muesum of play was only 7 miles away. If your looking for a hotel close to downtown but you dont want to stay in DT this is the place. Big variety of both hot and cold breakfast served everyday!! Not just on the weekends. Eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, waffels, cereals, yogurts, juices ect
The rooms were clean and comfortable. A great general location by lots of shops and places to eat. The hot breakfast was good. The morning staff members keepIt spotless and are replenishing food regularly each are attentive to the guests a truly great experience!
The staff was friendly and attentive from check in to check out. The room was small but clean and had everything I needed. Check out was a breeze, My stay here was stress-free. I would definitely recommend Best western
Parking lot is dark and, last night, was slick...could have used more salt. Check in was pleasant, room initially appeared OK until I tried to turn on the TV. Could not get remote to work and TV's have no power buttons on them (must be a hotel thing). Long story short, turns out the TV was unplugged from the back of the TV (not at the outlet). Initially wrote it off as it had come loose and fallen out. Not the case, the ONLY way to turn the TV on/off is with the plug. Found this to be unacceptable and therefore the 3 rating. One would think that housekeeping would make sure that everything in the room works...isn't that part of their job? Other than that, room was quiet and I slept well. Breakfast spread was good for hotel fare and the woman working the breakfast room is like the Energizer Bunny. She was certainly full of energy, keeping everything cleaned and stocked. More employees should be like her. Also, not ideal for working or reading in room...too dark. Would probably stay here again depending on the purpose of my visit to this area.
Have had great stays at this hotel. The rooms are very clean and have been updated within the last year. Nice TV and fridge in everye room. The beds are very comfortable. There is a nice breakfast spread as well.
We stayed here 4 nights. The room was clean enough, the workers at the front desk were very friendly. I had asked for a gluten free breakfast option when booked and although they have a sign saying they're proud to offer the gluten free options, there wasn't any signs saying exactly what was and wasn't gluten free. When I asked the worker which options were in fact gluten free, she had no idea. Needless to say we ate breakfast elsewhere most days. The last 2 days we were there I was woken up by a drunk in the hall screaming and cursing. I called down and complained on the second night. I also made them aware that in our room the light between the beds wasn't working properly, I thought it was due to the fact that the plug was maybe loose. So hubby and I pulled the bed away from the wall and found that aside from kleenex and dirt/dust behind there, the plug was actually damaged. I let them know at the front desk and they gave me a gift card for $25.00 for my next stay. For the $ the hotel was good enough, I'd stay there again.
We found this hotel in the booklet from the roadside park and were very happy with everything including a very good breakfast in the morning. it was thanksgiving weekend but they still gave us a good rate. We will be back if we get a chance
Great place to stay. The staff makes you feel so welcomed. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast bar is good, The staff makes sure that it is well stocked and they keep the area very clean.
This Best Western is the best we've stayed at yet. The staff treat you like family, the breakfaet is fantastic and the rooms and beds are comfortable. Stayed here for six nights total this year.. There are many hotels in the area but we like this one. We visit several times a year since my son is a college student at RIT.
Quality Breakfast, clean rooms, friendliest associates, unbelievable hotel rates with such awesome amenities. Hotel is located in the heart of the city. Very close to the airport. Uber and Lyft run 24/7. There are tons of things to do just within walking distance. If you enjoy shopping like me, then you are in the right place. The Wegmans store is open 24hrs, and it is not far from the hotel. There are also nice restaurants, movie theater, and big shopping mall nearby.
I am currently staying in this hotel as I visit family for Thanksgiving. This hotel looks nice from the outside, to the lobby, and inside my room. The customer service is excellent. I give this hotel A+ for everything. The staff truly made my day. Thank you best western Rochester market place.
If it was up to me and not corporate I wouldn't go back .My sink in my room had a leak. The refrigerator did not cool any food I bought wasting all of my food. The fitness room had broken equipment which could hurt someone. The doors to the outside did not lock security was lacking.
I am always pleased with the customer service. I stay at Best Western two nights a week for work. I always stay at same hotel. The service is alway great. They always remember who I am. If I have any issues it is always resolved in a matter of minutes
This is our second years in a row (3 times a year) of staying here. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and convenient location. Front desk manager is extremely helpful and friendly. We will continue to stay here as long as they quality and price continue to be this good and our son is at RIT.
I have stayed at this hotel before and have always been pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. The wireless internet works great and the breakfast is an added bonus! The only drawback is that it is on a somewhat busy highway and you can hear the traffic from your hotel room at certain times but I would still recommend this hotel as a place to stay!
We were in rooom 232 and when we went to our room I noticed that it did not have a luggage rack to set our luggage on instead of having to bend over every time we needed to get some thing from our luggage. All othe hotels we have stayed in have had at least one luggage rack. I pointed this out to the clerk on duty and he said he would look for one and bring it to our room. Never heard from him again. we had problems with the toilet not being secured to the floor properly and the faucet not properly installed as it sprayed water all over the wall if not careful. Informed clerk at checkout concerning problems. We have stayed at several Best Western and this is the first time we have been disappointed.
Good location, right on Jefferson. The lobby was renovated a couple of years ago and looks nice. The price is reasonable. The elevator smells like mold and mildew. It is not a new smell, it has been there for some time.Every time you go into the elevator you realize why is lower priced the other hotels around (because you have to hold your breath for the entire ride).
Over the past 3 years we have stayed at this hotel at least 10 times. The staff are all cordial and go out-of there way to ensure that we are comfortable. I am disabled, and all the staff, but especially Amanda and Robin, are extremely helpful. Anytime that we come to Rochester in the future we will definitely stay at this hotel!
Nice facility and very helpful staff. Very clean room. Bed was excellent. Quiet. Ample parking and elevator. Good selection and good food at hot breakfast. Restaurants nearby. We would definitely stay here again.
The location was great. The breakfast was good with a lot of choices but hot items were luke warm. The room was clean, except for the bathtub. Bed was comfortable. Refrigerator worked good. Shower faucets didn't work well and tub didn't drain. Air conditioner didn't work well. Bathroom was small. Internet worked great. Very noisy. Doors close loudly when someone leaves their room. Staff at desk was not knowledgeable.
Amanda, at the front desk, was awesome! She was so friendly and helpful. She made us feel like royalty. Our room was clean. Our bed was comfortable. The location was great. Definitely would stay there again!
We had a very good stay there everything worked out great . The rooms were very clean, the service was wonderful. The front desk worked with us from the first day. Giving us early in to our rooms. Nice and clean breakfast area and good food.
Decent price in a neighborhood where there are many choices. Facilities are fine for the most part but I have to nitpick with two things regarding the rooms. First is the fact that the sink is outside the bathroom. I'll never understand the reasoning behind placing the sink in this location. Many people like to have privacy while using the sink. The second issue is with the small, square pillows. These are unsuitable for most sleepers as they don't really allow for turning from side to side. Again, in most respects the hotel is fine but the two most important things one needs a hotel room for are sleep and personal hygiene and the rooms come up short in both areas.
Facility was clean and staff was friendly. Breakfast buffet was good with many choices but did not include waffles. We had chosen to stay there at the end of a day of traveling because of the pool, only to find out it closes at 9PM. We arrived near that time and would have loved to quick go in the pool. Wish they kept the pool open later!!
Disappointed by general manager Amanda Robinson's failure to respond to our requests for explanation. We reserved a Handicap Accessible room for 6 Aug but at check-in were sent to unit 330 NOT accessible. We both have medical issues and made several trips to the bathroom off the lobby during the night. We have been staying at this BW for years, but failing a reply, we will plan to find a more reliable way to get a good night's sleep in the future.
Hotel very clean and service was great . Would stay again for sure at this hotel in Rochester. Breakfast was very good. The room was extremely clean. Location of hotel was great. Alot restaurant s around.
the people at this hotel make our stay a pleasant experience. from checkin Fernando, brakfast host Robin and front desk Amanda and all the other people... very clean and a safe feeling enviroment. good fresh hot breakfast and the room was very nice. All made for a pleasant stay.
Great Location, Great Price, Great Room, The Greatest Bargain in the area. Many choices in the area to complete any stay or meet any need. I enjoyed the daily hot breakfast at the hotel and dinner at Golden Corral one night and the Longhorn Steak House and Lunch at Olive Garden ( both just blocks away). My wife enjoyed the shopping at her favorite stores also just down the street. Looking forward to my next visit.
Liked the hotel and staff but the internet did not work and I had tasks to complete that forced me to go to the local mall to get online. The phone in the room did not work and I missed a wake-up call.
Excellent service by this hotel, free breakfast , very clean, clean washroom, just felt like home. Stayed for 7 nights and really enjoyed the stay. Amanda was manager and she was awesome as well Tiana front desk Receptionist was also great , will go back again.
We stayed here for our reunion for Ntid, this place was great, clean and Brkft was a variety. Although same hot food otherwise was good. The staff were great. Great location with all stores & restaurants around.
Hotel has nice clean rooms. Very friendly, helpful staff (especially Amanda-she went out of her way to fix a problem). Will definitely stay here again. Very good location near many fast food placed and department stores.
The check-in process was a little slow with an employee who could use a little more training, but she overall she was friendly and the hotel was very nice. (Though the bathroom was a little small). It was also walkable to several good restaurants. Breakfast had a good selection, but the quality of some of the items was a little low and the setup/layout wasn't the greatest. Check-out with the manager, who was very friendly, went fine. I would definitely stay again if I'm ever back in the area!
This Best Western was very clean and the clerk that checked me in was excellent. I liked the room and everything in it was well placed with everything I needed. Easy to access, plenty of nearby places to eat, my only complaint was the walls were a little thin and you can hear lots of outside noise. Very good
Not a bad place, but it needs some work. Rooms and hallways are a little rundown. I used my Phillips screwdriver to tighten the handles on the coat closet and the room door's safety latch. There was just one bar of soap for the sink and the shower. There is no TV channel directory in the welcome binder and the info on the TV screen does not match the channels on the TV. We could not get local Rochester stations at all. Soundproofing is inadequate; I could hear another room's TV at night. Breakfast was OK, but there was no waffle batter. Finally, they screwed up my bill, which they promptly fixed after I called, but that shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. Room was adequately clean and comfortable, so definitely not the worst place we have stayed, but with a little work it could be much better.
Conveniently located off the highway. Great parking. Wonderful, calm and very understanding staff. They truly work with parents and the days of stay. They give great discounts on staying over a little later than check-out time. Close to shopping and restaurants. It's my go-to place when I visit Rochester. I have a 3rd reservation coming up in August 2018 when I drop my son off for his first college year. Decor - it's a Best Western. Lol.
We were placed in the king suite , but after unpacking we found that the toilet would not flush. Front desk staff tried to find a plunger . We then moved to another room with 2 beds. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. Got a call around 8 am that the toilet issue had been fixed in the suite so we moved back there for the following 2 nights. The suite was dated, yes, but it was clean and had lots of room. The staff were so friendly , and seemed to really care when asking if we needed anything. Breakfast was ample, and we enjoyed it all 3 mornings. We will return !
Usually enjoy stay at this facility, but this time there were some issues, ants in room, electric issues, noise burned toilet seat. Was ok quality for the money staff were courteous breakfast nice. Like that coffee tea available all day
Stayed here one night for business. The outside of the hotel and lobby were both nice but once you get into the room its a different story. The blinds are old and dusty, the couch in the room was old and stained. The bathroom was the worst as the toilet looked like it had not been cleaned in days and the shower had hair and dirt on the bottom. The hotel did have a nice location to local restaurants and the breakfast was also very satisfying in terms of options and overall taste.
We went to Rochester to join friends form Pittsburgh, and both couples stayed at this property. Facility was clean and well appointed, the breakfast was good, and the staff was friendly and professional. Overall, a good stay for a good price.
More than adequate for our purpose. Would like listing of local restaurants, local map available. We were traveling to explore colleges for our grandson. Complimentary full breakfast was a pleasant surprise, Hostess kept breakfast area very well stocked and was friendly.
very nice very clean i travel a lot and this was one of the best places so far. i would recomend it if youre in the area also they have a decent breakfast amd they have rewards points so they add up quick
This hotel was a little gem. The room was nice, comfy, and clean. The hotel had a business center, which was helpful for printing out a few things before the open house. I asked for an additional blanket, and I was handed a down comforter similar to what I have at home. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay.
We only stayed 1 night as we were in Rochester for an open house at RIT for our son. We will definitely be returning to this hotel for future visits as our son will be attending RIT the next 4 yrs. The room was clean, the location was perfect, surrounded by many restaurants and shopping opportunities. The complimentary breakfast was a perk especially for the price. The staff were extremely friendly. The location was a few minutes from RIT. This will be our go to hotel when we visit Rochester in the future.
Being close to our sons college we decided to give this hotel a try. We ran into some problems with cleanliness but the manager and general manager went above and beyond to make it right. We will give it another try next time in town. Very close to everything and in walking distance to great bbq.
professional, courteous, and friendly. never had an issues . the shuttle was a bonus. Daniel was excellent in checking in. Amanda was also polite in making sure my shutte was on time. Will definitely be returning here again soon.
Room was nice and comfortable. Convenient to shopping, food, and other amenities.Great restaurants are in walking distance, Regional market for Rochester was directly behind, close to gas stations. Breakfast was okay, good selection of items, good selection of juices. Area was kept clean, Sidewalks were shoveled after snow event.
Pleasant accommodations. Above what you would expect. Not a luxury hotel but clean, well run, and comfortable. It's well located in the Rochester area. Very good nearby restaurants. In fact there is a good rib joint and a very good seafood store/restaurant adjacent to the property.
Very nice hotel with modern rooms and comfy beds. Flat screen tv's, and very close to the mall and several restaraunts. Staff is extremely helpful and courteous. Have stayed here many times and will continue to stay here!
I booked this hotel for when I dropped my daughter to RIT. There was a very large snow storm when we got her and the parking lot was cleared. The breakfast area was very nice and the breakfast was ample. I went up to the room and everything looked like it has been replaced. We went to use the refrigerator and it was warm and smelled. We needed the microwave and found it unplugged. When I unplugged the fridge to plug in the microwave I noticed the extension cord hooking the TV, Light and refrigerator together was a normal 2 prong extension cord, with NO ground. I also noticed the grounding part of the refrigerator plug was broken off so it could be used. On one side of the plug there was an adaptor for a grounded plug so I plugged in the microwave. Then when I shut the lights out I realized the microwave was going off!! Now I realized why the fridge didnt work!! UGH!
Last time I stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago, renovations were being done. The lobby remodel looks very nice. The room does not seem to have had the same total gut renovation with the same quality as the lobby. The rooms look old and worn.
Breakfast is adequate. I had very good sleep, and the beds were comfortable. I appreciate that my room was changed for free after I reported it, but I'd still like to have a refund of the nights spent in that room where I found bed bugs despite checking in the first place. The manager never got back to me with any record that it was documented that they were found.
Very comfortable room, very good value, caring and helpful staff (housekeeper insisted on taking luggage cart back to the lobby for me), and a better than average breakfast. Excellent location also. In room climate control worked well and wasn't noisy or blast air. The tub area and bathroom ventilation were a bit less impressive than the rest, but worked acceptably.
Stayed here for a few days in the King suite. The room was huge, and for the value of your money it can't be beat. The hotel was quiet and the staff were friendly. Nothing to complain about, would recommend to other travelers.
Stayed here for a weekend to attend a local music festival. Place was conveniently located and had an ample amount of restaurants, bars and shopping nearby. Rooms were clean as was the lobby and rest of the Inn. Staff was friendly and accommodating. If you're passing through and need a place to stay, I recommend this Best Western.
The hotel is very accessible from multiple interstates and very easy to find. The entire staff goes out of there way to accommodate you. The remodel that have been done since I was last there improved it 100%
I stayed in this hotel twice in a year and I found this hotel very economical and value for money. Good thing is that hotel staff is friendly and co-operative, clean and comfortable hotel. Breakfast included in the package which was quite decent one. Hotel provides laundry facility as well which is quite convenient to use. The only thing which I did not like was that the washbasin was not in the washroom but is provided outside of washroom and in the room. Strongly recommended for the travellers looking for Value for money and comfortable stay.
We visited this hotel because my son had a Junior Prospect Hockey Showcase here. His team stayed at this hotel. I checked out a day early because I found what looked like a roach in my room. I was also woke up by a false fire alarm 30 minutes before my alarm was to go off. The room was dirty and the sink was not in the bathroom but right when you walk in the door. I would never stay here again. I checked out and went to the Double Tree Hilton up the road.
The price was great and the room was clean. Bathroom fan was a bit loud and dim lighting over the sink. Overall clean room and location was great. it was near good restaurants, large mall and ice hockey rinks. it was perfect for my stay and would stay there again.
Very comfortable and clean. Great location with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Staff really helpful and friendly. Good-sized room with plenty of space for 3. And you get cookies in the evening!
On an extended family reunion trip to Buffalo, we continued to Rochester, NY to keep an appointment with a business in Rochester. We were so impressed with this hotel that I can't speak enough praises of it. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. They took time to say hello to us everytime they saw us and inquired as to how things were for us in the hotel. We particularly loved the microwave in the room as we are big pop corn eaters in the evening. There were several places to eat within walking distance (maybe five minutes at the most) where we could choose from a variety of types of places to eat. The rooms were super clean and the breakfast was first rate, especially since my better half is diabetic and has to watch what she eat. Very few hotels take this into consideration and while they may say a free breakfast, we can't eat what they serve, so is it free?
Very comfortable stay. Large room. Very comfortable bed. Frig and microwave. Close to everything. Wonderful staff. Very clean. Good breakfast selection. Only complaint - coffee wasn't the best. Best Western is consistent in their presentation and service.
Good location. Kitchen needs to be equipped for use. Had we known there wasn't going to be anything in it we would have brought some cooking implements and dishes. Very noisy with cleaning staff and heavy doors slamming. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a good size.
this has a great location close to everything around. The room was clean, and of a good size. bed was comfortable and we had a good sleep. Sink is small but if you are only staying a night who cares. we have travelled all over in the of October month, spending more time on the road then at home, so this place is A ok in my books. front desk was good, breakfast the lady kept it full. will stay there again
This is a newer hotel in a good location with free parking right outside the door. The front desk agent was very personable and professional. The room was very clean and well appointed. Would stay here again!
great place for the money. Seemed to be an older building with renovations. Staff very friendly. Breakfast had a variety of items to chose from. Room was clean, happy that refrigerator and microwave included.
This hotel is centrally located, has easy access on and off the highway with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. It is updated and clean and staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered is the worst I have seen amongst Best Westerns but luckily there are plenty of food options within a one-mile radius. For the great value and cleanliness of the hotel you can eat offsite. Just don't count on the complimentary breakfast and you will enjoy your stay in an upgraded and clean hotel.
We booked two rooms for two nights. We arrived first and checked into our room. My nieces arrived shortly after us and were informed that their room had been given away by mistake, even though they had already paid in advance. There was a lot of chaos at the front desk, and they gave some story that made no sense, as to why the room was given away. We left to do some shopping, and the front desk phoned to say they had a room, and gave another nonsense story. They were finally able to check in. The room was fine. Very small bathroom area. Fridge and microwave were good. Very crowded room though. Breakfast was less than expected. Sausage patties were like hockey pucks. Eggs were formed like round flat patties and totally cold. Hash browns were pretty much empty. I saw them scrape about a half cup of hash browns into the tray. Fruit was almost gone by 8:45, with only two pieces left. Waffles and toast were fine. Overall it was very under-whelming. For some strange reason we had different people try to enter our room multiple times. Not sure why they were so confused, but I found that very odd. Overall, the price was right ($113 CAD). Location was great for shopping. And since we only used the room for sleeping, it was fine. But I will look elsewhere next time.
Good basic hotel in Rochester. Only about a 10 minute drive to the center of the city. There are numerous restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores within walking distance or a short drive. The hotel is located in the middle of a huge retail area. Breakfast was good, not sure what the complaints were about. There was plenty of hot and cold options, food was good, hours were reasonable (6-10am). Again, numerous food options are close by if you don't like the offerings. Room was very clean, beds were comfortable. I did have some noisy neighbors but that's not the hotel's fault. Staff was friendly and quick for check in/out.
Bed was wonderful breakfast great. Only negative sink space a little small. Good location. Very helpful on information one of the better motels on our 23 day trip. That's all I have to say about that.
Visited RIT easy to get to from I-90 lots of restaurants nearby visited the numerous malls before the college tour which is just just 2 miles down the road hotel was clean check in quick the breakfast was great plenty of food I would stay here again
I booked last minute to come visit my daughter, was able to book the previous night to stay the following but knew the next 2 nights would be booked. Once arriving, I was able to stay the entire 3 nights at a very reasonable rate. Staff are very pleasant and friendly. I stayed at a Holiday Inn the previous weekend to which I won't return too. Best Western will be my first choice from now on....
A comfortable hotel in a convenient location. Friendly workers that seem to care for the customer. Clean and not overpriced. Breakfast is not that great but I think this is a trend for the Best Western brand except for a few that are willing to go the extra step.
We were given the last room available which was a handicapped equipped room. The shower had a drainage system that drained out all over the bathroom floor. The tv was not working and the phone in the room to call the main desk did not work. Breakfast was terrible
Friendly and helpful staff, room was clean, bed was good and food was near the hotel. Happy with a our stay and would stay again. Breakfast wasn't too bad. We were on our way home from Maine and the hotel was everything we needed.
The rooms and service were fairly typical for a Best Western - good, but not great... about what you'd expect for the price. The breakfast, however, was not up to normal Best Western standards - nothing was fresh, the breakfast room was not very clean, and the waffle batter was not prepared properly so the waffles were not even edible.
We enjoyed the friendliness of hotel staff very much. They were very nice and cooperative. We had some noise from the neighboring rooms, as college athletes were staying in the same night on the same floor, and they were up and active until 2:00 am, talking and frequently opening and closing doors. The breakfast was moderate.
Clean hotel, recently renovated, close to shopping and restaurants. Friendly helpful staff with a large and restaurant like breakfast area. Small poorly designed bathroom. Good value compared to other nearby chains.
Stayed there 5 nights for college check in late August. Great and convenient place. Close to everything. Front desk was very responsive to request. I had a broken towel hanger upon check in, called to report and she came up to check and fixed it next day. Only thing is the front desk lady said she would comp me 20000 points and I still have yet seen it deposited into my account.
The hotel has been renovated within the last year. The rooms were nice and clean. Fridge worked extra good. It would've been nice if they had a guide to TV stations. They had one on the television, but the channels didn't match the channels of the tv. Breakfast was typical BW breakfast with waffle, eggs, bacon or sausage cereals, muffins etc. Price was good and though slow, the internet connectivity was solid even at my room which was the last room at the end of the hall.
A nice hotel located in a cool and calm area. It has all that one might need in a well-located hotel. There are loads of stores, movie theatre, event places and good restaurants around. More interestingly is that things are less expensive there and you also have access to UBER in case you don't want to rent a car.
My check in experience was the young lady talking about how exhausting all the was she had to do because of the pilots that stayed there the night be before and never asked if I was a club member. I then checked in my room to discover the AC was broken. The solution was to put me in the handicapped room next to the breakfast area ( very noisy). This room had a leaky toilet , it had a leaky seat wax ring/ seat gasket causing water to flow into the tile with every flush. Possibly the worst hotel experience I had since I price lined a hotel in Rhode Island and was in the direct flight approach for the airport. If the second room was the best they could do I think I will be taking a break from Best westerns for a while.
Stayed there for one week. Toilet was small, wall in toilet was cracked, basin was outside the toilet and small. Can't help but splash water when washing face. Bed was decent. Pillows too small and soft. Breakfast was the same every day. Maybe that's the standard for 3 star hotels. The worst were the staff. Except for Amanda, the rest were simply atrocious. No smile. Not professional. Poor communication. Suzanne really shouldn't be at the front desk. No smile, slow worker. Looks frustrated. I only chose BW because of my good experience in Paris BW. Looks like standard in this franchise varies widely. I won't be staying at another BW for some time. You get what you pay for is the saying. I paid $89+taxes for my room. One of the cheapest in town. I think I'll pay $20 more and go to Hampton Inn the next time.
We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed our experience. They keep a clean property here from the lobby, breakfast area to the rooms. Excellent location close to shopping places like Big Lots, Target, Ollies and Burlington Coat Factory. Good food options close by as well. Enjoyed the hot breakfast each morning. Options included scrambled eggs, sausage, bagels, waffles, juice etc. Complimentary water, Coffee & Tea was available all day long. Overall I would recommend this Best Western Marketplace location over other BW's and other hotels in Rochester. Good room rates and good property.
This hotel was ideally located next to or near numerous eateries. It was clean and comfortable for a one or two night stay. The breakfast quality was poor in terms of choices and taste. Hotel was quiet and easy parking.
This is a relatively new place with all of the most modern amenities. We liked the walk-in shower - when is the last time you took a bath in a tub? Everything is top-notch. The people were all very helpful and caring. Convenient for shopping and to interstate roads for the on night stopover.
Booked a room for a weekend stay via the airline site and received a confirmation number so I had confidence that the room would be available, which it was. Review would have excellent but no rooms were available 90 minutes after the designated 3 p.m. check in time. The desk clerk notified the housekeeping supervisor and between the two of them, found a room that would be available soon. Area where the Best Western is located has excellent access to highways, shopping (including a Costco for cheap gas), and various dining establishments so that was great for me. Because the reservation was prepaid, I never received any type of invoice (even one that was marked "paid") which I thought was a bit odd. Overall, the room was clean, comfortable, safe and quiet which is what matters to most travelers. Would I stay again? I would consider another stay but would call the Inn directly to make arrangements. Valuable lesson learned for me.
The hotel was great for our needs and was located in a good location. Amanda, a front desk staff person, was awesome! She was knowledgeable and friendly. There was a great BBQ restaurant within walking distance.
We had driven for 4 hour and Amanda at check-in was absolutely fantastic. She checked us in efficiently and even made some cookies for us which is not usual on the weekend. Her bubbly personality and friendly service is an asset to this hotel. The room was very clean. The beds comfortable. Wifi worked well and breakfast was very good.
Really enjoyed the check in procedure. My room was very clean and bed was so comfortable. I went out on the town till 1am. Was very disappointed when I came back and there were no parking spaces near my room. Not very safe for a single woman. When I came in the gentleman at desk was not as personable as the ladies when I checked in. He acted uninterested when I said something about the walk to my room from parking lot. I said it would be nice if there were #'s at least 1 near each room. Also there was a semi taking up 5 spaces right by my room. In the back where I had to park there were 2 pick ups with trailers attached taking up 3-4 spaces each. The clean room, bed, very friendly morning staff and yummy breakfast made up for parking. Overall was very good.
Hotel room needs updating bathroom very small and need of major updating caulking come off could offer more choices if breakfast items like egg choices meat choices staff was very nice and friendly hotel close to shopping
We were in town for a wedding. Hotel was nice, clean and in a great location. Amanda at the front desk was extremely helpful and attentive. She is possibly the most personable and friendly front desk staff I have had the pleasure to deal with in our travel. Thanks Amanda!
This hotel is very clean ! Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Check-in was very fast and the staff very friendly. Very large breakfast area that served a hot breakfast. It was very tasty and the staff kept it very clean. We would definitely stay at this hotel again the next time we are in the area.
Don't expect too much out of the room size. We stayed in a double queen and it was very cramped! Other than that we had a great stay! Great staff and delicious breakfast! Will definitely stay here again when visiting Rochester! They also honored my husband with a military discount even though he is no longer active. They are the only chain that we know of that honor veterans as well!
This was the fastest check in process I've ever had. The receptionist had our keys ready to go and showed me the password for the WiFi without even asking. Ready to go in less than a minute. The room was very nice: comfortable bed, good shower, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The room was updated and clean. Breakfast was good, in a tastefully decorated room. Very nice.
Had to check in early. They made accommodations to help us do that even though they were sold out the night before and had to clean all rooms. Front desk and manager, amazing. Very clean, neat. We had 2 14 year olds with us and they loved it too.
The hotel rooms may be a bit dated, but the staff is excellent The cleaning staff, for the most part, is good, but Amanda at the front desk stands out! She always makes our stay at this hotel memorable. We expect to return at least twice again this year.
Very clean and comfortable king size room. All required amenities for a business trip including WIFI, Micro, refrig, working A/C, clean bath area. Ample parking and access. Convenient to many restaurants.
Apparently this location has had a pretty huge renovation. I never stayed here before, but currently it's very clean & current looking— I'm as happy with this spot as the Hampton Inns that were my previous 'value priced' choice. The front desk staff helped me with a room upgrade (I have the BW Club & they also will match your level with other hotel affinity programs, which is great). Everyone I've met has been pleasant to deal with on the phone & in person. Free, cold water bottles in the lobby is terrific new idea. Coffee always on tap & good full breakfast adds value. Fridge and microwave in the room is so convenient. I've had no complaints after my first two stays at this location and will choose them again as my #1 choice in Rochester at this price level.
The room was horrible. There were flying ants all over the room (in the drawers, on the windows, the sink, etc.) We had dinner in the hotel room, and we noticed some of the ants even got into our food/drinks. It was absolutely disgusting. We even though it may have came from the ice machine, because we had gotten ice and noticed our drinks had black dust/particles in them. Soon we noticed that it was INSIDE the ice. We thought maybe these were the ant eggs! We are not professionals about insects; all we know is the room was disgusting and we were freaking out all night unable to sleep comfortably.
Overall the hotel is clean and well maintained. We had a couple of items that broke in the hotel room, but they were fixed by the time we returned later that day. The coffee at breakfast is not very good, but the food is fine, hot and varied. I particularly enjoyed the potatoes. The staff were courteous and helpful.
Newly refurbished - this place is welcoming and secure and a very short walk to a great BBQ restaurant & bar - after a long days travel - it's nice to have a couple drinks, eat a great meal then go back to your room without having to drive. I have stayed at this place on 3 separate occasions and would enthusiastically recommend it to fellow travelers - The staff treats you as they would appreciate being treated.
We stopped here on our way back from Camillus, New York, after visiting our Aunt. It was an easy off exit. Accomodations were good and we would stop here again if ever in the area. We always like having a breakfast before we start and the quality of choices was good here.
everyone was nice & helpful to us. Stayed 1 night then went to Niagara Falls. Came back for 2 nights. Breakfast was nice lots of choices. Both ladies at breakfast went out of their way to make sure we had pently
My stay at this hotel was a most enjoyable experience. The hotel is well maintained, excellent staff and in a great location for restaurants, shopping and close to the city and main highways. The Best Western Marketplace is a great hotel to stay in for a day or a week and has the best hot breakfast I have ever had in any hotel.
We stayed at the Best Western Rochester Marketplace Inn which was very nice and exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. The hot breakfast the next morning was also very good. We came here for a concert at the Blue Cross Arena which is only 5 miles away and will do so again!
Excellent value. Hotel staff provided excellent service and the hotel is very clean. Breakfast is good. Decor is very nice. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I return to Rochester. I highly recommend it!
I will say its a perfect hotel and i will refer to my friends and other family members. Breakfast was good. breakfast place was also good. neat and clean. Staff was cooperative.Location was nice because it is located at the center of the city.
This Best Western has stepped up to the plate with a new renovation. It was a very nice place to rest our heads and recharge. Great common area also to try and catch up, plug in and get a little work in as well!!
Not as good as it could be, the room we had before 125 had not been repaired from April. Get the staff there to do there job and perhaps if the manager was around thing might get done. She was not there on our first visit and was not there this time either
Always stay at this hotel when I'm in town on business. Staff is really accommodating. Hotel is near numerous restaurants, fitness centers, a mall, pretty much all you need on a business trip. The hotel itself has been recently upgraded and is quite contemporary now.
Hotel is very clean, and the breakfast area was well maintained--food was fresh, staff was actively making sure food was stocked and messes were taken care of. No pool. The staff at this hotel was friendly, courteous and helpful. Rooms were quiet and well insulated. My only problem was the arrangement of the room itself. We are a family of four and sharing a sink that has about 5" of counter space on either side is a real pain. Add that the bathroom door opens right into where someone would stand in front of the sink and you have a real problem for trying to get up and out of the hotel in the morning. Other than that, the room is small, but the beds are comfortable. Not sure I would stay here again with a family, but one or two people in the room would be fine.
Stay here weekly and rarely have any issues. Friendly and helpful staff that are always ready to help. Love earning my rewards for items or future stays. Close to many restaurants/shopping facilities.
Very pleasant experience. Very large breakfast area with more than adequate seating. Meal was typical fare for hotel breakfast. Area clean and replenished quickly. Bathroom very small and tub old but functional.
We chose to stay here overnight as we had a 6 am early flight the next day. We stayed here rather than close to the airport as many of the restaurants we like are located close by and the airport was 8 minutes down the road. We had a room near the main road so it was a bit noisy with traffic. We left early and did not get to see the free breakfast offered. They did offer a "grab and go" for those leaving early, water and granola bar type items.
Don't expect much from free breakfasts but no hot items like eggs or bacon, just waffles. Only fruit was bananas. And only fake Cofffemate creamer for coffee out of coffee "machine" which bummed me most.
We stayed two nights here. The reception at check in was friendly, quick and efficient. We somehow zapped both our cards and needed replacements, and that was done in a matter of seconds. The room was very clean and comfortable. A/C was quiet and didn't interrupt our sleep. The room had a fridge and microwave, along with the usual coffee/tea machine and television. Free wi-fi seemed solid... we had no problems getting on and surfing. The hotel had no vacancy the first night, but there was no noise from other rooms or in the hallways. In terms of location, I don't think there is anything you can't find within about 5 minutes of this hotel! There are several shopping areas and plenty of dining options. Downtown Rochester is about 10-15 minutes easy highway driving from the hotel.
Did not disappoint - better than I expected. Many hotels in area are run down and I have requested my money back twice in the recent past. For what I paid, I was hoping to not have to do the same this time. The room ws clean and smelled it. Recently renovated. The lobby ws bright and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. I recommend.
We found this hotel to be friendly, clean and close to what we wanted to do. Also this location has great eateries all around for those nights you do not wish to drive. One of the most friendly outgoing staff I have ever met, helpful and very informative about the area.
So many of my family members were in town this past week/ weekend for a funeral, and the level of service shown to us during this time was 5 star worthy. Everyone was so helpful, kind and accommodating. The staff was outstanding, the rooms were very clean, and breakfast was nice. The only thing is that I wish they had their own shuttle to/from the airport. We took cabs when we first arrived. They share shuttle service with other hotels so u may have to wait a while. Otherwise, everything was great!!
Very nice staff ! Staff is helpful always asking if you need anything Very attentive while checking in your informed on internet information password and offer help if any complications and inform you on breakfast schedule always friendly and pleasant ,checking out is fast Very satisfactory.
Superb and attentive staff, clean and comfortable room, decent complimentary breakfast, easy parking, all was very good. Have stayed there before, and will do so again. Absolutely no problems. (Great cookies upon our arrival!)
I stayed for 4 nights. The room was clean and was close to the business I had to go back and forth to. The front desk people were very friendly. I love that they put me on the first floor. I would definitely stay there again.
I have stayed here several times during the renovation and tolerated the problems that come with it. The completion makes a good impression. The breakfast area is now huge and very inviting. Rooms are very large and well equipped. A very good hotel.
The hotel is in a good location for the business traveler. The people at the front desk are very courteous The breakfast was mixed, first day was good second day eggs were cold. Coffee is terrible. Exercise equipment needs upgrade
Prepaid for hotel so booked a week or so in advance and got a great price. Very comfortable bed, good space with a micro, fridge and good work table, however a tiny bathroom making for difficult morning maneuvering for a couple. We always appreciate a fitness room, and the one here is more than adequate. Large, clean lobby with a decent breakfast that was better than most chains. Only negative was desk person who checked us in on arrival . He clearly wanted to be somewhere else and probably should be. On the other hand, the woman taking care of the breakfast area in the morning was lovely, pleasant and most efficient. Would definitely stay again.
The old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Well here I think you get even less than you pay for. The lobby and gathering area were average, the carpet in the hallways and rooms was old. None of the rooms had door seals at the bottom. All had the carpet ripped out in one strip were a door seal should be, leaving exposed cement. The rooms were average or below average. It wasn't a bad place to stay but for over one hundred dollars a night I expected slightly more facilities or amenities. There was no pool, there was not shuttle or transportation help, the breakfast ended at 10am on the dot. The employees were the one saving grace of this hotel. They were friendly nice and helpful, despite having a lack of resources at their disposal. They did the best they could with what they had. I would not recommend staying here, I would pay the extra $30,$40, even $50 a night to stay somewhere else. There was a double tree across the street. I'm sure they have door seals on their rooms.
I like Best Western hotels, because, unlike the bigger hotels, there's a more Homey feeling, and they are considerably more affordable. A couple of problems, in the bathroom, but overall a pleasant Day Trip for me.
The remodel was still in process when we stayed, although I was told it was 95% complete. Wallpaper was peeling and clearly still to be changed near elevators. Room was clean and updated. Unfortunately the bathrooms were not remodeled. Plumbing fixtures under toilet were in poor condition. Cigarette burn on bathtub. Water control knob for bath was loose and in poor condition. It was still a good value for an overnight and convenient to RIT for a college visit.
We stayed two nights at this hotel because it was busy weekend in the city. Lobby is nicely redone and the breakfast area was bright and clean. We stayed in a renovated room but the wall paper and base boards must still be old as they were pulling away from the walls. Bathroom very small and dingy. Hallway walls still look run down. Other basic hotels in Henrietta are less expensive and offer more (pools). Staff were very helpful. A redeeming quality! A work in progress shouldn't charge so much.
It is difficult to find a decent, clean hotel that allows pets. We were very pleased with the room. It was surprisingly spacious and clean. We have a little Bichon Bolognese we occasionally travel with and he seemed to be as comfortable as we were. The desk and breakfast area staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was fine and just what we needed to start our day. There were eggs, breakfast meat, and yogurt which was good for my husband who has celiac disease and cannot eat any type of bread item. We would definitely stay here again.
Very affordable option for overnight stay...Quiet, inexpensive quality clean room. No frills, so just basic quality room . Great location and a lot cheaper than hotels near by....Easy check in and check out. If looking for hotel with great location no frills, inexpensive stay this is the one for you
Before you book, check the status of the construction at this place. It was inconvenient to enter and exit the room. Instead of walking thru the hotel, we had to walk around the outside of the building and re-enter thru a side door with our key (which did not always work....so we had to go around outside once again and get new keys). For breakfast, this was a problem. We booked three nights because we were biking along parts of the Erie Canal. We had beautiful weather! I can imagine the construction being a major inconvenience if it rains or snows. We travel a lot, stay in Best Westerns a lot and this was not up to Best Western standards. I could not tell if we had a renovated or unrenovated room. The bathroom definitely was not new. The breakfast was good but the seating was very limited. Shop around....there are better choices for the price in this area. I felt I overpaid for this place.
Workers were very nice. Free breakfast was included. Stayed in room on first floor which hadn't been renovated yet. Convenient location to see Rochester Institute of Technology. Lots of retail in area and restaurants. Staff helped me when I told them I was on crutches and called in that info before we arrived by giving us a room on first floor.
Everything was excellent, although construction was taken place, it was still enjoyable. The workers were very accomoding as well. There is a soft spot at the end of the hall by the door on the first floor. Carpet is covering it, but it sinks. Also in my room, 122, in the bathroom, the shower and wall has a gap by the door, it was not sealed.
We booked this hotel not knowing that it was undergoing renovations. The room was dusty and had my allergies going. Got bitten by something that left me itchy. Getting breakfast on the weekend in the makeshift location was a whole other issue. The quality was under grade compared to other Best Western locations I have stayed in. There was no apology for the mess and construction zone right as you walk in the door. Not a good experience at all.
We were so surprised to walk in the front door to discover the entire lobby and all the front of the hotel was gutted! No on told us about renovations when we made reservations weeks ago. We were not happy, but Marquis who checked us in was very talented and capable. He gave us a discount for our room rate and he found us a hotel across the street where we could use the indoor pool. We had been told that one was available to us when the reservations were made. The room was adequate, the beds very comfortable, but the sink was tiny and right next to the door. Was not inside the bathroom with tub and toilet and had no way to obtain privacy. One very positive note was the excellent free, hot breakfast. The food was great and the dear woman who prepares it, and then works tirelessly to make sure everything in the breakfast room is clean and all the food is kept stocked is a gem. She never sits down and does a truly fantastic job. I thanked her profusely, but I wish I had gotten her name. All in all our stay was fine. But I would have preferred to know about the renovation.
I would suggest any parent that is visiting your loved one to stay at this property. I will be staying here several times over the next four years. The price structure could be more affordable for RIT families.
Best Western is a business that you can rely on and know that you always get a quiet clean room, good service and abundant breakfast for reasonable price. Renovations, well, happen, and they happen to everyone. I don't think that interrupted normal function of the hotel and created any major inconveniences for people staying there - at least I'd say the hotel's employees are putting a lot of efforts into making their stay as comfortable as possible. I'm sure when the renovations are over, it'll all be worth it.
My stay at the Best Western Marketplace Inn was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I arrived at 1:15pm on Friday and asked to check in. The front desk employee looked up from whatever he was reading and informed me that check-in was at 3pm, Then he went back to what he was reading. After a short pause I asked if anything was available, after which he reluctantly found me a room. The hotel itself seemed much like a bombed out hotel in a third world country. The lobby had no floor or walls. Obviously in the middle of renovation, the noise from the construction workers and the housekeeping staff talking out in the hallway made my much needed nap impossible. Sunday the elevator wasn't working. Housekeeping skipped my room on Sunday. I don't want to continue listing complaints here. I'll just say that if it was my hotel I would warn the customers who already had reservations about the construction and offer rooms in the other local Best Western Hotels in the city. And I would hire more accommodating employees with better English skills. The room rates will have to be extremely low for me to take a chance on this kind of experience again.
Place was undergoing construction during our stay so the lobby was a mess. The inside was kind of a dump with old, stained carpets on the hall floors, and the exit sign in the hall hanging by a wire on one side. Toilet didn't work but they moved us to another room immediately. Bed was comfortable and clean, sheets smelled somewhat of bleach (which actually was a good thing to me), shower worked great and towels were fine. Air condition worked well (and was needed). Breakfast was ok, Dunkin Donuts next door! Cheaper than other nearby hotels.
All in all not a bad hotel. The renovations that are ongoing made getting around the lobby a chore. But on a good note it is going to be very nice. The breakfast was more than I expected with eggs and sausage.
Renovations were being done in the lobby area so we had to walk outside of the hotel and through the side doors to get to our room (which was located on the main floor). This wasn't a huge inconvenience. There were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 young kids) and the room was spacious enough for our needs. We got a room that was newly renovated and it was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly. Breakfast was pretty good and had ample selection. Overall, we were happy with our stay and would consider staying here again!
Negatives: Lobby is a mess, barely have part of a new floor down. Hallway and walls stripped down where we were placed. So, moldy smell everywhere. Really not good to place guests there. Even taking allergy meds doesn't totally help. Had to request desk to get a maid to bring fresh towels after we returned to our room hours later. We did see someone who looked like a maid having a break in the breakfast room watching tv. At this point, didn't care about housekeeping but any other hotel would have had the bed made, garbages emptied, coffee replenished. Last time we stayed everything was great so, maybe just unusual time. BW really should just have closed down the hotel but its proximity to RIT is a moneymaker. To be fair, significant other opted out of getting another room offered at the BW airport location by BW phone customer service. Plus side: great location to Thruway & other locations, lots of restaurant choices, Robin in the breakfast room replenishes the items in a timely manner & keeps the tables very clean. The room itself was pretty clean but def needs updating. Had microwave, great refrig, hairdryer, iron, USB outlet on the desk, good bed with crisp linens. I would wait at least another month before coming back.
This is my preferred hotel in Rochester NY. I have stayed at this hotel about 10 times in the last few years. The rooms are quite large and nicely decorated and very clean. It will be great when the renovations are complete.
This hotel will be very nice when renovations are complete. In the meantime, it's a bit of a mess with half of the hotel lobby behind a curtain and areas off-limits. The elevator smells awful, but it can't be avoided without walking out of your way to the back stairwell. The room itself was nice. It was clean. My biggest complaint was the pillows - they were almost non-existent they were so flat when laying on them. Due to this factor, I did not have the greatest sleep. In hindsight, perhaps should have spoken to the front desk about this. Breakfast was mediocre in my opinion, but definitely on par with some of the better continental breakfasts offered at hotels (my boyfriend enjoyed it very much). Scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, muffins, pastries, yogurt, waffles, etc. were all offered.
Main reason for choosing this hotel was its proximity to RIT. Knowing BW quality, it was easy to make a reservation. The room was spacious and clean. Wifi was fast and breakfast was plenty. Staff was friendly and check-in/out was quick. Parking was plentiful and seemed safe.
Our first room had a very bad smell, and the air conditioning did not work. When we requested a new room, we were given one immediately without question. The second room was very comfortable, smelled clean, and the air worked.
This hotel is being remodeled and for good reason... Hallway carpets are filthy and smell in stairway areas where AC is not on, key entries on side entrances are not all functioning and rooms are aging. I had to carefully walk around tools and materials stored in the room where the only ice machine is located and there are tarps surrounding the lobby. Ownership should just close for a month and finish the remodel. It's not fair to subject customers to this inconvenience and hazards.
As someone else mentioned, this hotel is better for families than couples. Alot of noises in the halls such as the many kids running up and down the halls early in the morning and housekeeping having conversations directly outside the door about how dirty a certain room was when they checked out. Location is great, gentleman at check-out was very friendly. Breakfast was pretty good - the lady working was doing an excellent job; she was so quick and patient with certain impatient guests asking for more of whatever ran out but I hope she knows her hard work is definitely noticed. May stay again in the future.
Rooms not ready, obviously past check in time or this would not be an issue. Also under construction and no place to sit and wait for rooms. Rooms once cleaned are nice. Lots of kids in hotel for soccer tournament. Refrigerator and microwave nice for families. Furniture in good condition. Very nice mattress, not to soft or hard but bring a real pillow. Small square ones provided.
Making our annual shopping trip for 3 days this hotel is an ideal location. Currently the lobby is undergoing some renovations, which does not affect check in and day to day stuff. Checkin was quick and efficient with cold bottled water and chips offered. Our room (305) was clean upon arrival... King bed, easy chair, desk with office chair, fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Bathroom amenities included shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Complimentary wifi was fast enough to stream videos. After shopping when we returned to our room, it had been made up and cleaned. This Best Western is ideally situated with a mall close by, easy access to the highway and there are lots of restaurants close by to satisfy everyone's tastes.
I stayed here for 2 days. This is a nice hotel. Front desk manager is friendly and humble (He offered us some water bottles for our journey at the time of checkout). Rooms are clean. Hotel is located next to many restaurants and shopping paces.
The hotel is being renovated, so the lobby is clearly under construction, but the employee at the desk was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. I did have a little trouble with the TV, but I figured it out fast enough.
It was under construction. But, the room I had was not awesome but okay. The major complaint is that my room was next to the exit door and when the contractors started work, early in the am, they would use the door to go from floor to floor and it just kept slamming and slamming. Got up way to early because of that.
The room, beds and accommodations were excellent, and all staff were unfailingly helpful. What a pleasant place. We stayed an additional night. We have had so many unpleasant surprises in other Hotels, but this was ideal.
No hot water, under construction, over worked staff, breakfast poor, shower water did not drain quickly so up to your ankles in dirty water, short on towels, hotel over booked to the max, horrible odor in rooms and hallways, stained carpets, Bed comfortable
Rooms are small with bathrooms even smaller. The front office staff Priyan and Victoria are good. But Marques (i guess that's his name) is rude. The breakfast is so so and the place gets crammed if there are more than 10 people. Wouldnt really recommend nor would I go again
We have stayed at this Best Western before and were always pleased with our stay. There is a lot of work going on now and rooms are being updated. I'm very happy to hear the breakfast room is being enlarged. The staff as always were very pleasant and helpful.
We were very pleased with our stay. Our commendations were clean and the staff was accommodating. We also enjoyed the free breakfast, which was fresh and yummy. We would definitely stay at a Best Western again for business or family trips.
Staff was extremely pleasant. Rooms were small but neat and clean. Prefer sink in bathroom, but no big deal. Breakfast was enough. Renovations didn't bother us. Cookies in lobby were awesome! Very convenient to restaurants and freeways.
This hotel is a great value with the breakfast every morning and dinner (M-Th). Marquis seemed to be working every time I passed by the front desk. He was very pleasant and definitely is a credit to the hotel. Give that man a raise!
Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Marcus was super polite and very helpful. Hotel had some minor renovations going on while I was there, but it did not affect may stay at all. The hotel is one turn and 2 minutes off of I-390 and also one turn and 2 minutes from MCC. There are numerous restaurants just a close.
the staff was very pleasant. The room was big. The breakfast was plentiful and covered the basics, fruit, bread, proteins, yogurts, cereals. The bathroom was very small you could bag your head on the door while sitting down. The sink was out in the room. Overall thought it was a good value for the money.
We have been visiting this hotel 12-15 times a year since 2009. I am so happy to see the renovations finally beginning. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. Such a nice change. New carpets in halls and guest rooms are beautiful. The granite sink counters are a nice update. I love that the bathroom doors now open out into the room, giving much needed space in the bathroom. The new lights/lamps give the rooms a more contemporary look. The curtains are also an improvement. One comment, which may be rectified already since I mentioned it at the desk and in my comments to the hotel via email - Signage is needed at the tops of the staircases at the end of the hall and center of hotel notifying guests that there is no access to the lobby. Lobby access is available from the far staircase and via elevator. I am grateful that they are renovating the lobby and making the breakfast area larger as this is very necessary. I can't wait to see the progress the next time I stay.
Been to this place 3 or 4 times. Wifi has worked in the past, inconsistently. Have work to do, can't get it done. Front desk is kind, but ultimately no help. Seems the problem is in the renovated part of the building. Nice people, great price point. Can't stay here again.
diner buffet offered monday through thursday was very good. great selection, healthy choices for those eating healthy, and great desserts. a great perk for the price of the room. free breakfast was as expected, not bad ,, not great. wi fi was great. streamed movies with no buffering. would stay again if in area
checked in late at night, asked for extended check-out options, as a BW rewards member I was offered a 1pm check out. Was woken up by front desk at 1130am asking if I was ready to check out... SMH. Room issues: -Room had only 1/2 roll Toilet paper, no full roll, (with the thick recycled paper they use, this is an issue as a roll is very short!) -Desk chair actually broken (left side all detached, base wobbles), cannot lean back at all! -lamp unplugged in room -clock incorrect (not chaged from DST switch 2 days pevious) -bathroom is so small you cannot open the door without getting into the bathtub/shower!
We were staying for one night and the bed was so uncomfortable. It was all saggy and hips hurt sleeping on it. Room was mostly clean but boy it looked old and dated and worn out.Found someone's old sweater under a bench in the room. Will try Holiday Inn next door next time!
Other than the spottiness of the Internet and the New Carpet smell in the room.... My stay was great! The Staff was Friendly and professional. Breakfast was hot and hit the spot. I didn't have the chance to take the opportunity to have the free dinner they offer during the mid-week, but, I am sure it was superb!
Conveniently located. Good restaurants nearby (some within walking distance). Nice rooms comfortable bed. Just hope after renovations the bath/toilet area is bigger. Internet worked great. It would be nice if towels were a little bigger.
The Best Western Rochester Marketplace is a great place to stay. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is good as far as hotel food goes. Good proximity between airport and downtown.
I stayed at the market inn location which is a great location. Stores and restaurants all up the strip. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are clean. The complimentary breakfast is a great perk and the staff are all very helpful. The lobby is perfect for gathering your thoughts before heading out and there are computers for you to use. Definitely staying again.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would we stay there again. The room are too small and the bathrooms are tiny. The staff (except Priyan) are snooty and rude. The breakfast is pathetic. Overall a bad choice.
Been a while since we've stayed at a Best Western, usually opting for Hampton Inn or the likes. Were assigned this hotel as apart of a sports tournament. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the gal at breakfast is so friendly and on top of keeping the food area cleaned up. The lobby looks pretty dated/ could use a refurb. The motel overall seems old. The room is fine, on the small side; beds are fairly comfortable. The bathroom is obnoxiously small, you have to turn sideways to shut the door. The sink is on the outside of the toilet/shower area. There was mold along the edges of the ceiling tiles in our bathroom and the baseboards of the bathroom weren't in the best shape. There is NO privacy available, so if you are dressing and someone opens the door everybody sees everything. The super small bathroom doesn't leave much space for changing clothes. Room had a mini fridge and microwave which were helpful. Breakfast was full and hearty- eggs and either bacon or sausage the days we were there, plus a waffle maker and full complement of other continental-style breakfast items. They don't offer evening meals/snacks on the weekends, so no insight into that. They did have fresh baked cookies out in the evening. It's located close to the interstate and there is a little strip mall with a liquor store and a few restaurants on the block. A little farther down (less than 1 mile) is another shopping center with a grocery store and other restaurants. We ate dinner at Tully's. Great chicken fingers, otherwise the food was fairly typical. They did have a good selection of beer, a game room /arcade for the kids to hang out and pretty cheap shots!
I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family. The room is very clean and all the receptionists are very friendly and knowledgeable. The price of the room is very reasonable with free breakfast.
The Best Western Marketplace Rochester NY was very nice ,Quiet, Clean and had a wonderful Breakfast. Beds were comfortable, Plenty of towels, Bathroom was a little small. They are remolding the 3 floor, and we were not bothered by dust or noise. Close to everything . Staff was very helpful. Hockey family ,Schenectady , NY
hotel has a nice appearance, is very clean and the staff are very nice. especially nice was the lady in the breakfast room. can't say enough about her, she was obsessed with keeping area clean and she would talk with the guests and inform them of the weather that day and what to expect on the roads. my complaints have to do with the beds. the matresses were terrible. woke up with a sore back every morning. also, when more than 10 rooms were rented out there was a problem with the hot water keeping up with demand. had lukewarm showers on 3 out of 5 morinings. plenty of hot water at nite though. staff tried to correct but did not succeed. may choose a different best western on our next visit to rochester, ny.
Needed a hotel on short notice and I wanted to use my BW points. Called central booking and there was no problem getting a room at the hotel that I wanted. I felt that the number of points required to book a stay at this hotel was consistent with the quality of the hotel. The bathroom was a little on the small side as I had to squish in beside the toilet and tub to close the door. The cleanliness of the room was top notch and very much appreciated. I would use this hotel again and I do recommend it for those travelling in the area. I was travelling to Palmyra, NY for some Mormon church history experiences but, as a loyal BW Rewards member, I chose to stay a little further away in Rochester because of the presence of the BW hotels. I am glad to be a BW Rewards member.
Stayed here for an RIT visitation. The staff was friendly and prompt. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel is centrally located to major highways, restaurants, shopping and RIT. Beds comfortable and room was quiet. Fresh cookies at check in was a bonus. Couldn't ask for anything more.
All of the staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was nice, large and spacious; refrigerator and microwave were nice to have at our disposal. The hotel location itself is close to attractions and other doings (shopping, eating, activities) making stops back to the hotel convenient. We have no complaints other that we had to come back home.
Having always stayed downtown while coming to Rochester NY, this was a bit of a diversion but proved to be an excellent find and will be the go-to stay in the future. Very easy access from the interstate and very close to Marketplace mall and other shopping. As well , close to major restaurant chains of all varieties and tastes. and equally easy to take advantage of the downtown attractions . Exceptional breakfast choices. . Highly recommended
This hotel is conveniently located and close to shopping, restaurants and colleges. The hotel has easy access to major roads. I chose this hotel when I was relocating my son to Rochester, NY. There was a lot of shopping for household items to be acquired: furniture, miscellaneous. With very short trips, I was able to get things done very quickly. This is a place to consider for moving in college students, new residents etc. Only issue is that, the bathroom is rather small, but works fine for 2 persons. So this worked OK for my wife and I.
We have stayed here a few times when visiting RIT. The hotel has always been clean, and comfortable. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel is located in an area that is convenient to RIT, as well as many wonderful restaurants, yet is in a quiet area of town. The rooms are fairly spacious and well appointed. Breakfast is included and has many options available.
Broken phone and broken coffee pot. I surprised we didn't get replacements or discounts for over $100 for two. There was coffee in the lobby and the breakfast buffet was good with a very attentive worker. The bed was comfortable, a few things needed fixing. I heard they are about to renovate. We didn't did many hotels off the turnpike and were glad to find this one.
The place was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable since breakfast was included. To my surprise, they had free diner Monday thru Thursday. I used their shuttle daily to travel back and forth to go to RIT.
Good location, Nice Staff however the rooms need an urgent update. Very old furniture, small bathroom, didn't like the place, wasn't very clean. Felt that I was paying too much for what I was receiving.
rochester, ny was a great location for our overnight trip. the area was safe and a lot of things to do! being from ohio, we felt completely safe at this hotel. the staff was extremely helpful with suggestions about where to eat and things to do. loved the cookies in the lobby!
This motel is quiet nice. Only a few miles from the Rochester (ROC) Airport and right off of the interstate bypass, with plenty of local shopping and restaurants. Located within minutes of down town Rochester, this is a very good central location for visiting all that is in the area. There was a lot going on in the Rochester area the weekend we stayed here so the motel was a bit congested as far as parking and breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, there was nothing really special to speak of. Pretty typical, juice, coffee, dry cereal, bacon and scrambled eggs, some sweets and yogurt with bananas one morning. Saturday and Sunday morning were very busy and many items were not available because they simply ran out of food items. Not good! In the evening warm cookies were available in the lobby. This was a nice touch. We really did not interact with the staff much but they were friendly as we passed through the lobby. Our room was comfortable and the linens were fresh and clean. For some reason we were put in a handicap room so the shower was large but tended to allow a lot of water to flow onto the floor! Over all, I would recommend this motel.
Room's are clean and the bed's are AMAZING! Breakfest is served hot and the staff is wonderful! There is free dinner next door which is a VERY nice feature and lot's to do close by! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this hotel to anyone that is OR will be traveling to the Rochester area.....
For one night stay this hotel is good. Rooms are small, washrooms are small. It looks builder forgot to build the washroom and later this was noticed and build. Carpets are dirty and sticky. over all its ok.
