The rooms have been upgraded recently and are an adequate but not large size. Many rooms have balconies or terraces. The maid service is daily. Note that TV shows are in Italian; news channels offer more languages including English. Good water pressure, hot water, good lighting. The breakfast is a joyous occasion for those who love the sweets, cakes and filled croissants but we found tantalizing tidbits of more Sicilian fare too. Also, breakfast type croissants and sandwiches were available. Many varieties of juice and coffee beverages available. Cold cereal only and those who like eggs and bacon will find that choice cooled quickly, so take the opportunity to have something you wouldn't eat at home. The restaurant is prettily appointed and we found the dinner options to be good. The wait staff, both breakfast and dinner (opens at 1930) were very accommodating. We were particularly impressed with the service from Giovanni, a true professional. The grounds have a number of seating options and are lit up at night giving a colourful glow and making strolling a little easier. In addition to the indoor bar/lounge, there is an outdoor bar/seating area which was noisy one night (our room was close). Also, there is a wedding/party venue next door to the hotel that can get noisy depending on the occasion. We were there a week and only 2 nights was there any noise. It did not disturb our sleep. Because we didn't have a car, we were pleased to see that we could walk around the area. The hotel is located in a residential area with a park, medical offices, pharmacy, gas station, grocery, dress shop and jeweller. If you don't want to eat every night at the hotel, turn to your right and walk down to Via San Lorenzo. Across the street is Delizie Siciliane, for panini, spaghetti, salad and pizza. Note that spaghetti and pizza are not available until 7PM. This small establishment (5 tables in, 2 out) offers big servings, caters to the locals and does a lot of take-away. Next door is Dolci Tentazioni, a little bakery with a large outside eating area. It offers a variety of sweet bakery items and gelatos, plus sandwiches and hamburgers. Although buses run on Via San Lorenzo, another option is Via Le Strasburgo (turn left at the light and go about 6 blocks on Via G. Ingegnere). The red umbrellas of Voglia di Pane at the corner of Le Strasburgo are visible for a number of blocks. This bakery offers more of the bread products than the sweet and only outside dining. The charming young hostess speaks English and is quite helpful. Via Le Strasburgo is a main thoroughfare with more restaurant choices and a Credito Agricole (closest Bancomat/ATM) all within a few metres of the corner. The hotel shares a large parking lot with the party venue (Officine Baronali). The tennis club is around the corner. We enjoyed the opportunity to get a feel for the Sicilian culture by walking and dining in the neighbourhood. We walked by some very old abandoned/damaged buildings and some old arches and gates next to newer or renewed construction.
i stayed in this hotel years ago during a trip to Africa. the hotel has a nice garden inside. Breakfast was good and enjoyable THE The location is located just a stone's throw from the center of Palermo, convenient for those who want to move by public transport. Comfortable room
Very nice and clean hotel. It is outside the centre o Palermo but you have a private parking place and by bus ( number 101, just 10 minutes walking from hotel) you can get the centre. Breakfast is very good with typical sicilian food, people are friendly. Room are simple and clean and there is a garden outside to enjoy the evening. As i told you before, the hotel is outside the centre near football stadium. Plenty of non touristic restaurants and pizzeria walking distance
We recently booked a 4 night stay in the standard family room. Plus things about the hotel is the kids get their own little room, also the breakfasts were nice with good selection and coffee was nice. Breakfast staff were also friendly and the reception staff called us a taxi when needed so we're fine. The garden area outside is nice. Downsides were the bathroom was very dirty particularly the shower with black mould and lots of dirty dust around the skirtings, behind the toilet etc, also brown marks on the wall beside the toilet (eek!). The shower was very small and hardly any water pressure which made washing my hair difficult. I also got some blood on my bedsheet the first night and after it wasn't changed that day, I had to ask them to change it, which seemed odd as they'd made up the bed so must have seen it. Our room was also just above the reception area and very noisy with chatter until late at night and again early in the morning. Also sounds of furniture getting moved around late at night which was odd. There was also a party on the Friday night in the adjoining venue, which went on until 1am and was unbelievably noisy. We enjoyed Palermo and Sicily and would love to return fir a longer stay, but wouldn't return to this hotel sorry.
Be careful. The payment on the Italian web-site BW is not secure and went through without proper authorization. A few days later, someone deducted from my card, also without authorization, an annual subscription for the American First for Women Magazine. The custom support of this magazine does not follow the cashback procedure and refuses to return the money. You will lose money. As for the quality of the hotel itself - not bad, except for the presence of some biting insects in the bed - apparently, this is not in all rooms and you may be lucky.
Hotel was OK with clean rooms and okay customer service. Parking area was not that big but we managed to find a slot after waiting a moment. Price-level was great since 4 people room cost 88e. Neighborhood is quite busy and full of buildings which was a surprise after seeing the pictures of the hotel yard.
We are currently staying at this hotel - rooms 407 & 403. Our rooms are at the back, facing the high apartmentblocks that are on two sides of the hotel. Outside walls are moldy and green. You have to keep the curtains closed to prevent the neighbours in the apartment blocks from looking in. Impossible to open a window, anyone can walk in. The curtains are torn. Small rooms, no space to put a suitcase, no hooks to hand a towel. Some people in our group reported that there is no hot water in the shower , fingers crossed. Dreading the two nights that we booked here. Will definetely not be back.
Good hotel for a night stay, rooms very spacious, good breakfast, lovely bar where to end the evening. The barman was do helpful and well mannered. Not much restaurants in the area if not travelling by car, but we were told about a nice restaurant in walking distance thanks to the receptionist
Service, cleanliness, the staff all great and very helpful for whatever you need...you do get service with a smile. The garden is relaxing and peaceful, and for a very good pizza place not far from here in walking distance I highly recommend as well Pizzocotto.
In Jun/July 2019, a tragedy occurred in my life and had to find a way to move forward and a place to stay while I took care of my things as I needed to leave my home due to a terrible situation. I booked myself into Casena Dei Coli, a place I had wonderful memories from, so I thought, I'll go there to feel safe while my life was falling apart. With a minor issue during ordering, which wasn't their fault, they helped me get a room, one that I almost lost due to this mistake of online booking through a third party. Deborah who was handling the situation was an angel, like many that week, so many wonderful people came to my rescue, hidden angels all teamed up and showed me what a wonderful soul so many had in my most desperate hour. From Deborah the receptionist to the manager, to the kitchen staff, they were all incredibly supportive and kind, it brings a tear to my eye how wonderful they were with me. Attentive and understanding of what I was going through, they took good care of me. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, it is a perfect little heaven, hidden from the rest of their surroundings. With wonderful room service, amazing breakfast with delicious items to enjoy, they gave me an incredibly safe and happy environment to pull through during my tragedy. I will forever consider them part of my most precious memories from Palermo. Everyone was beyond helpful and beyond perfect in their care for me and the hotel is amazing. I've been there many times and I will return again and again. I'll send friends there and I'll bring whoever I'll travel with there as well. I know I praise them a lot, but I don't do this just because… I'm not paid to say any of this, I am speaking from my own experience and their service and professionalism was beyond perfect… they are a true hidden gem in Palermo… utterly kind, utterly professional and my stay there was healing. Thank you to Deborah, to the manager that day, to the kind dude who helped me out after work… Because of you all, and so many in that week, I got out safely and with so many helping souls who I now call dear and close friends. My highest recommendation goes to the staff and this hotel for being so professional and going out of their way to make me comfortable and offering care and assistance in my time of need. I'll be seeing you all again shortly when I come back visiting. Have a happy New Year and a successful one! Gracie mille amici ❤️
Really nice hotel and excellent, very helpful and polite staff. Rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. Food very good especially breakfast. Drinks expensive but a nice little place less than 200 mts down the road.
First the positives. This hotel provides large, modern rooms with excellent bathrooms. There is free parking and breakfasts are OK Now the negatives. It is very difficult to get into and out of Palermo. If you have your own car you can risk it but the city is so crowded that parking is a nightmare. Public bus services are very poor. You can wait forever without one ever making an appearance and that's after the 1.5k walk to the bus stop. The only sensible option is a taxi which costs about 16 € to the centre of the city. An expensive round trip. The junior members of staff are helpful but the reception desk was useless. We had to ask them if they were there to help us or not they were so obdurate when we made simple requests. Throughout our stay they failed to provide us with a card to switch on the power to our room. Instead I was obliged to switch on the power via the main distribution box. The safe never worked. The hotel is surrounded by low rise flats and the area is severely lacking in amenities. There was a takeaway pizza and bar at the end of the street but the first worthwhile restaurant more than a kilometre away. In short, the hotel is an average base for business users. It hopeless for those on vacation, especially with children.
Breakfast was fair. Rooms were basic. Very noisy and rooms were hit. Staff were not nice and very rude. Refused to help. Iv stayed in different hotels in the area and this is the worst. I will not be returning to this hotel.
