Just 50m from Montpellier train station, but still very quiet so ideal if you need to take an early train. Good shower only the water pressure was a bit limited Nice bed, you can choose for a queen size bed or 2 beds next to each other Good breakfast selection even gluten free bread, we added this as a request to our booking.
A great hotel to stay at. It is right across from the train station, the tram station is around the corner and the Place de la Comédie is two blocks away. Hard to beat! The room was clean and well-illuminated. We even had a small balcony and a great view of the city. The room was nicely decorated with a French flair. The breakfast has plentiful and varied. There were different options available, and you can even have freshly squeezed orange juice. The service was excellent - everyone was eager and willing to help, very polite and professional at all times. Thank you for the many “papillotes!” Overall, a great option in Montpellier: great location, great people, good food. We will come back !
Night staff was exceptional, morning staff was also friendly. Rooms and bed were clean. Location is central but there is no parking and one has to park at the train station or nearby parking garages or find street parking. Car cannot be driven to the front of the hotel for luggage drop off since it is a train track area, so one has to walk in with luggage. Room that we got was spacious enough for 3 people. Overall happy with the hotel and would consider staying here if the price is right.
During the reservation process, I chose the more expensive Prestige room (which is a "large room" as per the description provided on the hotel's website) but my wife and I were quite shocked by the small size of the room and the bathroom. There was no place to even open two suitcases in the room. The bathroom was so tiny, without a shower door or curtain, with the result being that at every shower, tons of water finding its way in the bathroom floor outside the shower area. Impossible to stay in such a room for more than one day. In fact we had reserved 4 nights but checked out after just one night. Location wise, the hotel is unbeatable - just across Montpellier St Roch station. This is probably the main reason for the hotel being so busy.
The hotel has a great location a short walk from the Comédie, but away from the noise and hustle and bustle, opposite Saint-Roch station. There is a taxi rank nearby and a tram stop round the corner, so it is a good base for exploring the town and surrounding area. The rooms are comfortable and clean.
We had a three night stay here and the location can't be beat. The entry level queen room wasn't large but we'll proportioned enough with window that opened to an inner courtyard rather than the road which was probably better for noise. The room had a small fridge which was great and sadly missed at many other french hotels. Also a coffee machine although both days the housekeeping failed to restock the pods and we had to ask, even when the coffee machine was left on the bench and no in the cupboard. Also we didnt have hand towels until day three, we would have expected them for this level of hotel but assumed it was a cost cutting measure when we arrived. Also I informed reception on check out that the tap on the basin was very loose, something that also should have been easily identified by housekeeping. Besides these minor issues, the room was otherwise very clean and we had a comfortable stay. Probably a bit on the pricier side but few other good options near the station they seem to get away with charging more.
This hotel's location are so nice. The hotel is located directly in front of the Montepellier train station. We were enjoyed the night time around comedie square. and We had to order the breakfast. at the morning time there are not opened cafe even McDonalds...
Perfect location directly next to the train station, but still quite.. noise wasn't a problem. Lightly overpriced for the little room we've had. Great breakfast with a big selection of foods: Croissants, bread, ham, butter, fruits, yogurts, scrambled eggs... all you need.
Hotel is well located and close to local amenities. Lots of restaurant and shops near the hotel. Rooms are neat and spacious with all facilities in good working condition. The rooms are also surprisingly warm in the middle of winter. The breakfast however need a bit of improvement. I did enjoyed my stay.
This 3 star hotel offers moderately sized updated rooms with a very nice bathroom, large towels, and accommodating staff. Ask for a room with a balcony or you may end up looking at a wall. The rooms are quiet despite the convenient location next to the Gare. The lobby is small and not conducive to lingering. The breakfast is very basic. The hotel is a good value in a good location. We booked the Prestige Queen room and were happy with it. The air conditioning in the room is very good, but not great in the common areas and the halls.
Well located hotel to transport infrastructure including train (Saint Roch Station) and tram (every 3 to 6 minutes), as well as tourism services (nearby liaison office, and tourist sites in central Montpellier). There also nearby entertainment and shopping centres.
Recently renovated the hotel is up to date. Friendly welcome at reception. The room was clean, comfortable enough and quiet (I was on the third floor at the back). Good free internet. The location is very convenient, across the road from St Roch station and 5 minutes' easy walk to Place de la Comedie, from which the centre and old Montpellier are within short walking distances. I didn't take breakfast.
Good location. Reception staff Mr Kevin is very helpful and can speak good english. Room is very clean, new and very comfortable. Breakfast is OK, but can be improved by having more choices of food. Will return!
We booked this hotel due to its prime city center location. However, when we arrived in Montpellier, we tried to drive up to it and kept encountering constructions blocks and dead-ends. After cruising and trying to reach it for an hour we called them and staff was very rude and provided no info about road closures or any alternatives on how we can reach the hotel or park there. They gave us one parking garage spot that once we got there turned out to be a 15 minute walk to the the hotel according to the map! So we finally gave up and booked another hotel, but they charged us one night no-show fee and refused to have manager call us to discuss, and fought the credit card dispute. The most dishonest hotel and management I have ever dealt with. Stay away!
我们母女3人于7月2日下午带着3大2小箱,另有3大环保包,帮我们办理入住手续的35岁左右的白女,完全无视巨多行李,给我们的房间是三楼,电梯到达后,要另爬9级台阶的尽头-享尽了歧视和折磨,此生最糟糕的酒店住宿恶梦 we three(mother and daughters) checked in on July 2,2022 around 3pm , we had 3 big luggage bags 2 hand carry bags and 3 big purse, the woman (30s-40s) gave us a room 311? , you need to use lift to 3rd floor and took 9 stairs up to almost the last end. that was my worst experience ever in staying in hotel.
2-night stay Upside: (1) Location - opposite main train station, which was ideal because we arrived and departed by train; and also did a day-trip by train. Immediate neighborhood is less touristy and more local/working-class, which may be a plus or a minus depending on what you're looking for (2) Quiet - inward facing rooms don't get street or rail noise, but don't have views (3) Newly renovated - both bedroom & bathroom feel "fresh"; air-conditioning is efficient (essential in summer) Downside: (1) Bathroom design - Shower area isn't partitioned from rest of bathroom. Entire bathroom is likely to be flooded whenever anyone showers. Since there's no drainage outlet, it's not easy to get rid of the excess water, leading to slippery floors. Curious design omission for a newly renovated hotel, possibly fixed by adding a glass partition or shower curtain. (2) Safe - its placement on shelf in built-in wardrobe likely too high to reach for anyone below ~6ft (~1.83m) tall
Opposite of the train station. Clean with really good sleeping quality. Really friendly guy in the reception. Breakfast left a bit to ask for though, skip it and have breakfast in the main square (Comedie) instead.
Great hotel, right opposite the train station and within walking distance to Comedie and the old town. Recently refurbished by the looks of it. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was nice and modern too! Only downside was that there was no bottled water (although tap water is drinkable) and also limited coffee supplies. Check in was pretty straight forward. There was roadworks outside during our stay but it didn't bother us as they weren't on whilst we were sleeping.
The hotel is virtually opposite to the St Roch rail station and the Place de la Comedy and the historical areas of Montpellier. The tram system, too, is only a short walk away with single journey tickets at 1 Euro 60. Other “Day” tickets are also sold at mahines at the tram stops.
I was slightly apprehensive due to location and reading it is not a great place, but it was a great walk anywhere in Montpellier, good service, nice small room that was clean and comfortable for a good night's sleep! Did have an issue with the shower in that the water went everywhere so I tried to clean that up every morning.
Recommandations chaleureuses pour cet hôtel. DON'T MISS IT. Good situation in front of train station near tramway. If u ask bedroom on the street side u will have sun in the morning. Good breakfast. Same key for your bedroom and the door of the hôtel
Central location - walking distance to Christmas Market and shops and restaurants. Rooms very clean Bed comfortable Staff friendly and very helpful. Breakfast very basic but tasty enough Noise but not unbearable Only issue was how hot the room was and we did try to turn it down but not much joy.
Clean, modern with a very comfortable bed, location is close to centre although it's opposite the train station the area is rough at night with lots of drunk down and outs. Only complaint is the shower was no more than a dribble in room 405 and the air on was noisy and not very effective, but then it's not expensive....
Wonderful hotel. Lest then 5 mins away from the centre ,train station across the road. Not noisy even though station and trams running regularly ,Tram stops round the corner and easy access to the airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and ours was good size. Breakfast was €10 and great. A good choice of food. Definitely recommend this hotel Stayed for three night at beginning of May.
It is a beautiful hotel with nice decorations, very polite staff, great breakfast. The toileteries are very high quality. The hotel is situated oposite of the train station but no noisy and it is a place where you would like to come back. You can buy transport ticket directly from the reception. I reccommand you this lovely hotel for both pleisure and business reasons.
One of our group is a wheelchair user and the hotel did all it could it accommodate us in 2 rooms one with an accessible bathroom on the dates we needed. The staff team were all very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable and not as noisy as we anticipated being opposite the train station. Trams could be heard as they are right outside the hotel but to be expected in this location.
As a backpacker, this hotel was conveniently located right across the street from the train station, not even a 5 minute walk. The food and main square was also just a five minute walk from the hotel. Check in was quick and the room was spacious and beautiful. Check out was a little difficult as I used point to pay for my rooms but I was still charged city tax. It wasn't much but I thought points would cover it all. Breakfast wasn't included but could be purchased for 10 euro. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Montpelier.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Gare St.Roch and a few minutes walk from the city center. It's clean and secure and the staff are very helpful. However, the room we received was not among their finest. You could tell that they lost interest in designing a good room and put everything together in haste. The aircon was blowing hard right on the bed so if you were looking for hot/cold air you'd get it blown straight in your face. The windows didn't open - dunno if because of security concerns but still. The tea/coffee machine didn't work and had to be replaced. The breakfast was okay but we've had way better ones at hotels in France so this was a letdown. Overall a good experience but will probably go for a different one when back in Montpellier.
We stayed at this hotel for a night on our way to Nice. The hotel was clean and very tidy. Tea and coffee machine and expresso capsules were provided in the bed room. There were plenty clean pillows (nine of them!) for you to use for a good night sleep. It is very convenient location and in walking distance to shops and main attractions. Good value breakfast served. There are steps on the third floor that you may need assistance if you carry a big and heavy luggage. On that day a house keeper happily gave us hands.
The hotel is very well appointed very compact. Rooms and bathrooms well designed and smart. Beds super comfy with fine linen. Small but lovely marble bathroom. Could have done with more of a view rather than two walls with a glimpse of sky. Very good and generous breakfast . And above all superb staff - all were helpful and friendly. It is a five minute walk from the historic centre right opposite the station. The street the hotel is on could benefit from being cleaned up a bit most of the mess is generated by the nearby MacDonalds.
Front Desk staff is exemplary and very helpful in every respect ... restaurants, historic sites, even an art supply store. Its location, directly across from the Montpellier St. Roch train station, makes it a very easy stay for anyone arriving by train.
It was impossible to find in a car and construction made it even worse. I eventually just parked in a garage and walked until i found it. Then paid $20 for the parking after. It was loud, no view, huge homeless person park right across the street. No thank you. The only redeeming value as to why it was not 1 star was because the staff was friendly and did their best to accommodate and i always appreciate that aspect. Many other places in the city to stay though.
Due to Air France strikes, we had lots of last minute disruptions to contend with, including eleventh hour changes to the booking at this Best Western. The staff were very accommodating and helped make what was a very stressful few days bearable. Upon arrival, the staff member at the front desk basically gave us a big hug to say, “I'm sorry about our national airline”. Check in was very smooth, the room was immaculate and big; big enough to keep a 4 year old happy for a few hours. The hotel's location makes it a very easy stroll to all the main places. The breakfast is highly recommended. You get a lot for the price and it makes for a perfect start to a day of sightseeing around beautiful Montpellier. It's smaller size means that the staff get to know you very quickly, creating a very homely kind of feel while you are there. We'd definitely use them again.
Such a shame that we were forced to make this choice. Shameful in fact. So disabled people don't have families? We had to all share one double bed which meant none of us slept much. For four nights. Not good. Otherwise this was a friendly, clean place, but ...
We stayed here for four nights while visiting our daughter whose studying in Montpellier. The location is brilliant straight across from the railway station and a few mins walk from La Place de Comédie. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We lost our remote for TV and got another one before we found it. We had a room at the back which was great and quieter than at the front cos of the trams. Room was clean and really comfortable bed, did what it said on the tin and location perfect. Great value and highly recommended.
Visited Montpellier during a rugby trip and chose this hotel for its location and it was perfect, everything within a few minutes walk, rooms were lovely and look recently refurbished, reception staff helpful and friendly, never had breakfast in the hotel, there's a brasserie across the road that does a morning offer for €5 and a patisserie a couple of doors along, only downside to the hotel was the smell of drains at the entrance but I doubt the hotel can do much about this, my room on the second floor had a lovely wee balcony which I imagine would be lovely in the spring/summer months, I was woken by the trams very early morning so if you are a light sleeper this hotel is maybe not for you....when returning to Montpellier I would stay here again
Friendly recently refurbished hotel with a very good breakfast, close to central Montpellier, trams, and railway station. Room was small but very comfortable with excellent lighting and plenty of power points
We had a good room overlooking the railway station and place where all tram routes converge. Only noisy when window open. A "disabled" wet room where water was slow to drain was our only problem. Staff were excellent - very polite & helpful. Did not take breakfast. Would have preferred a kettle instead of the coffee maker.! Would chose this hotel for any return trip.
Location is great if you are travelling by train, and easy to walk into the city and see the sites, restaurants, shopping. Just a few "seedy" looking people after sunset but street is fairly busy so probably harmless. Room was great size, comfy bed, so comfy in fact we stayed an extra night! Bed gets a 10/10. Modern and clean, great to have tea and coffee fascilities in room. We had a room on the third floor facing the train station, it was a bit noisy with the windows open but quiet otherwise, air con worked well. Breakfast was appropriately priced for the selection available. Would stay here again.
We stayed at the hotel for three nights because of the price and location. Getting to the hotel from the airport by public transport is easy and quick. Just take the shuttle bus 120 to Place de l'Europe and then tram 1 for another four stops to Gare Saint Roch, it all takes less than half an hour and costs €2,60. The hotel is located across from the station and within easy walking distance to the town centre. The rooms are tiny but nice and clean. We unfortunately had a room next to the elevators and facing the air conditioning installation in the back on the first floor. It was therefore a little noisy with all the humming from elevators and air conditioning and no view at all. The window couldn't open and staff couldn't find the key to do so. The room is too small to keep your suitcase open. You can literally just walk around the bed. There is free wifi in the room, a safe and closet and some coffee facilities. We didn't particularly like the double bed as you constantly wake up when the other person is turning around due to the mattress. Breakfast was really nice with fresh products. We were happy to move on as we didn't sleep well at all. On our last day the person responsible for serving the breakfast didn't show up and the reception staff had to do everything on her own. Purely a sign of really bad management. The reception lady did her best but a manager should have been present to resolve the problem. Many guests were quite angry and were complaining. All in all it's a decent well priced hotel in a good location.
I booked 2 rooms. One had a frosted glass locked window. The other had no view as a wall was located about a metre from it. I asked if we could be moved but was told that there were no other rooms. I felt very uncomfortable in a room with locked windows. When we went down for breakfast the tables were covered with dirty dishes and food and the breakfast dishes were not being replenished. When I asked the receptionist what was going on she told me the person responsible for breakfast hadn't come in and that when she had contacted the manager she had received no help. The dirty dishes were still there in the reception area when we left at about 10am. This was indeed a disappointing experience.
It's well located if you are going to explore Montpellier but also other areas of languedoc-roussillon. The main square and town centre is 5 minutes away, the trams are around the corner and the station across the road. They provide a good breakfast at a fair price. The rooms were a little small for three people, including a teenager but they are clean and quite stylish. Also they need to get the services right, as the majority of the staff appear to need a little more training in hotel management. I'm sure they'll improve with time.
Great little hotel close to the train station and a short stroll from the main square. Comfortable beds and well equipped room with fridge. No parking, but long stay available at train station opposite. Really nice two night stay to end our holiday.
What a beautiful city Montpellier is - it takes your breath away and is definitely worth visiting longer than just 24 hours like we did. Anyway, we stayed in BW Comedie St Roch next to the railway station because the price they offered on their website was one of the lowest in the whole city and included a decent breakfast (eg cold cuts, scrambled and boiled eggs, baguette and pastries, pancakes) . The overnight stay didn't cause any disappointments: the bed was really comfortable and the aircon and wifi worked well. The room was a bit on the small side, but that didn't bother us. There even was a Nescafe coffee maker in the room. Also the staff was friendly though undermanned in the breakfast room. The only negative thing I could mention was that our room was on the first floor next to a street and the windows didn't keep the noise out. So if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room somewhere else in the hotel. I would definitely stay in Comedie St Roch again!
