Best Western Premier Royal Blue

I booked a Double Room with City View through Booking.com for two nights. My individual Booking.com confirmation specifically stated **“Bed type: 1 queen bed.”** When I arrived to check in, however, the hotel told me that they could not provide a room with the confirmed queen bed and instead showed me a room with two separate single beds pushed together. I did not accept or occupy the room. I contacted both the hotel and Booking.com immediately and requested a refund. Booking.com contacted the property several times regarding the problem. The hotel subsequently emailed me asking me to provide my Booking.com confirmation, specifically asking for evidence that a queen bed had been confirmed. I sent them exactly that: the confirmation clearly showing **“Bed type: 1 queen bed.”** Unfortunately, after I provided the documentation they requested, the hotel did not respond to me or resolve the refund. The most disappointing part of the experience was not simply that the correct bed configuration was unavailable. Problems can happen. It was the way the matter was handled afterward. I arrived for my reservation, did not use the room when the confirmed accommodation could not be provided, supplied the hotel with the proof it specifically requested, and still received no meaningful resolution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Premier Royal Blue is a boutique hotel (no kids) and located in the centre of Leipzig. Built in 2024 the hotel offers 66 rooms over 4 floors. Furnishings and decoration provide a charming atmosphere. Compimentary welcome drink. Service is friendly & helpful. Our nicely furnished & decorated room had dest & chair, club-chair, air-conditioning, TV, Nespresso facility, wardrobe with safe. We had a bathroom with washbasin, toilet & shower. All was clean. A good buffet breakfast is served: cold cuts & cheeses, breads & toast, cereals & fruits, milk & yoghurts, juices & preserves, rolls & croissants, tea & coffee. The Premier Royal Blue hotel is a comfortable & quiet, and we had a pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

Our room was good sized and beautiful. The bathroom was also spacious. Quite a bit of early morning noise out our window. The front desk staff were very helpful. Held bags before check-in and delivered to room upon check-in. Also froze ice packs for us. Breakfast had a great selection. Location is perfect for walking to sights. Parking is at a car park quite a distance away and expensive.

the location is unbeatable, but comes with hidden problems. The hotel needs to be more tansparent. One of the most annoying things for me is that its not stated on the website that there's no option to park in front of the hotel to offload luggage. I called the front desk on the phone to ask for clarification when I was nearby: where was the hotel? The address in on Grimmaische Str. 19, while the entrance is on Nikolaikirchhof! None of these are stated on the site. The front desk was substandard in telling me what my park options were to offload my luggage. I parked on Universitatstrasse for 5-10 minutes to offload luggage and got a parking ticket. Also, the all-day street noise from bongo, guitar and jazz-playing musicians is insane.

Arrived very early for our check in time as we had travelled from Berlin to Leipzig to see the RB Leipzig game followed by a Nena concert in the same area so would not be returning to the hotel until late so were keen to check in and see our room before we needed to leave. The Reception were very kind and accommodating and went out of their way to ensure our room was ready for us. Our room was fantastic! Extremely large, lovely seating area and very large bathroom. Also had a beautiful view of the church next door. Area around the hotel is very pretty and very walkable to the main station. Breakfast was more than adequate but a little limited due to the small area where the buffet is served. Staff were very friendly and the bar is great and open around the clock if you like a very late night drink!
