I have been staying at the Best Western Hotel in Hillside for the past month and the service has been exceptional!! The manager Pramod has been nice and courteous as well as the front desk staff. Linda, Adiana, Veronica, Kanika and Rosa have all assisted me with all of my needs during my stay. Also the staff who cleans my room has also done a wonderful job. Nicole and a couple of the other ladies have been great. Nicole was nice enough to bring me some water and I really appreciate it. Thank you guys for making my stay great. I appreciate all you do!!

Husband had extensive surgery at Loyola and we stayed 8 nights. Everyone so kind and shuttle to hospital was a great convenience! Will be back! The shuttle drivers were very helpful and would ask each day how my husband was doing! Caring atmosphere!

I've booked this hotel before I read all the reviews .honestly I was pleasantly surprised. My room was clean and quiet, front desk staff was nice and accommodating. I give them 3 stars because this hotel doesn't have a free breakfast or coffee in the morning.

"Noisy bikers"

Had to call two nights in a row because bikers revving their Harleys and blasting the stereos. Was amazed I even had to make the calls because they were right in front of the lobby making all the noise. At 3am one started, reved, then did a burn out.

I am so grateful for Best Western at Hillside Illinois. I along with several other coworkers use the facility as a base when we are working in Chicago. Even though we're a long way from home, after A Hard Day's Work When we arrive in the lobby or in the lounge restaurant we're welcome and taken care of. It's a good way to end the day. With good friends, good food, and a comfortable place for the night. Thank you

"***Bedbugs in Room 210-A***"

I have stayed at this location on many occasions and due to my experiences, praised it in my previous T.A. reviews. On Thursday October 18th I checked into Room 210-A and all seemed as as usual. I finished some work, had a nice dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Charlie's, returned to my room and went to bed. When I got out of bed in the AM , I noticed some blood trails on the one pillow case and after dealing gow gross that was, set it aside and returned to the bedside. To my horror I discovered there were more blood trails on other pillowcases and the top part of the fitted sheet were I was sleeping. I realized in a panic that the blood was mine and that it was from bedbugs! While examining the bed area I found one bedbug, captured and flushed it. I searched for more and found a 2nd one which I disposed of as well. Next I got out the bug spray that I've had in my suitcase for 8 years and have never had to use to actually kill bedbugs and sprayed down my bed clothes and double bagged them in fear of transporting them home. After a long, hot shower I wrote and left a note on the bed for housekeeping alerting them of the issue. On October 20th I emailed the hotel I recap of my experience and heard nothing back. I called the hotel and asked for the Manager's name and email address and forwarded my original email to Mr. Roy Patel. After receiving no response I sent it again and then a third time, all with no response. A total of 4 emails to this location went without response, which is pathetic! The numerous bedbug bites I suffered on my wrists and back of neck are only finally starting to go down after a week. How miserable! This is truly the worst experience I have ever had from a hotel stay and the hotels lack of response and caring has only worsened the whole it. In the past, I looked forward to my stays at this location due to its proximity to MDW airport, it's on site restaurant, its decent rooms and its expansive, included breakfast buffet. I am truly, truly disappointed that the hotel and its management didn't do a better job at preventing this from happening and responding to me once it did. Buyer beware!

"What an awful experience "

I pride myself on being a fair and patient person but this hotel tested me to my limits. This hotel was booked through a travel company for our route 66 trip, I also think it was a last minute swap so couldn't change it. Even before we got to the hotel we didn't have a good experience, my partner is coeliac and I understand it's not not always well understood so I generally email hotels ahead of our staying there to enquire about gluten free options for breakfast which I did for this hotel and I also enquired about transfers from the airport as advertised on their website. I emailed them 4 times with no answer which annoyed because it is impolite even if they had emailed back to neither was possible at least I knew. So I rang the hotel when we landed at O'Hare to see if a pick up was available and was told quite rudely no with no explanation ie sorry we do not do this blah blah. So we took a cab for $50!!! We got to the hotel and they had only booked us for 1 night and not for the 2 nights we should have been booked for luckily I had a hotel voucher for the 2 nights. Again the girl's attitude was very aloof and not helpful at all. Next we wanted to head into Chicago after checking in, so asked at reception when I realised that the hotel helpfully provide free transfers to the forest line station, so we booked it. Again the attitude I got was like you are completely bothering them and clearly they could see that we were English a bit clueless that but received no offer of information about how to buy tickets for the train etc every hotel I've ever stayed in have always offered information about getting into the city centre as we often stay just outside the cities. Am I expecting too much? The next morning I went and asked the staff if they do gluten free options and they just didn't have a clue sometimes people don't know so I asked them to ask the chef but was told that she knew what the chef was like and knew he couldn't help even though she didn't even know what gluten free was. We booked the transfer to the forest line station again with 2 other women who wanted to go somewhere else and they wanted to be dropped off first even though the driver told them he was going to the station first. She then proceeded to get completely lost, eventually after dropping them off we finally get to the station after 45 minutes normally takes 10 minutes. The driver was very apologetic and I actually felt sorry for him because she shouted at him a lot. We got a cab back from the station because they asked me to ring a couple of stops before we got to the end to let them know, but we were told it was busy and would an hour wait and by this time I have completely lost the will with the hotel. We got back to the hotel after a lovely day in Chicago and couldn't get into our room so again back to the reception and had to get new keys. The hotel is tired looking but I don't mind that the rooms where clean and the ac worked really well. I have traveled to many countries and never had such a bad experience than I have had at this hotel the customer service was appalling, the hotel is extremely inaccessible if you don't have a car and the transfer service which is vital because its in the middle of nowhere is haphazard and some seemed to just use it as a private taxi service, but I couldn't get a 20 minute pick from the airport which is actually advertised. I have never written a bad review about any hotel I am not really the type but I needed to share this because it such a horrendous experience to the beginning of a trip of a lifetime. So if you wanted to be treated like garbage and stay in a tired smelly and inaccessible hotel pick the best Western Chicago hillside.

We stay here every year is September and couldn't be happier with the accommodations and the hospitable staff. Not only are the guest rooms in top shape, but the staff goes way beyond expectations with the oversize gathering room we used. Great job! See you next year!

Stopped in on a cross country drive. Hotel was clean and well kept, breakfast was delicious, the staff was helpful and happy. The room was immaculate as well as the restroom. Couldnt have asked for a better stay.

This was our very first stop on a 13 day road trip and thank goodness we were only there for 8 hours to sleep! The only good thing about this place is its proximity to downtown. We were there for one night in July and my kids nicknamed it "the dead fish hotel" because that's what the hallways and elevator smelled like. Thankfully it didn't smell in the room. Huge, old building in desperate need of renovation and updating.

"Six night stay"

This hotel is budget priced. Our stay was for 6 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and adequate. The hallways are dated and in need of updating. Parking is plentiful. It can be a diverse mix of people.

"Rude staff, poor service & climate control."

Lobby was poorly ventilated, entrance was full of trash and the planter has no flowers but has been turned into one big ashtray. No complimentary breakfast. Your coffee in the morning will cost you a $1.50. Understaffed and very impolite and rude people in a customer service position. Think twice about staying here.

"Worst Hotel Experience by Far"

A few coworkers and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights for a work conference. After our first night, a co worker found bites all over their body. After returning from our 2nd day conference, we requested our beds be checked for bed bugs and sure enough my coworker's bed was infested with bugs. Unfortunately, none of the staff seemed alarmed or extremely concerned with occurrence, suggesting it may be a regular happening. The best apology offered was complimentary breakfast for our group, 4 coupons at 6 dollar face value each, 24 dollars for an infested bed. I was disappointed to say the least. Some other issues we experienced included coming back to our room well after work hours and our room was unavailable due to cleaning. Additionally, rooms were being cleaned what seemed almost 24 hours a day, which during the earlier parts of the morning and later parts of the night was unpleasant constant noise, vacuuming to be specific. Some other points: lots of dogs barking condom wrapper found under the beds curtains falling off their railing

"Worst Western-Do Not Visit"

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. I absolutely do not recommend staying here. After our first night there, I woke up-to my horror-to have over 20 bites. Yes, 20. They covered me head to toe from one night at this place as there were ants and who knows what other insects in. my. bed. What I found even more disturbing than this, was the lack of surprise by those st the front desk. It seemed routine. An ongoing problem. Not only did the call housekeeping, but also called for maintenance at the same time. Read through some of the past reviews if you don't believe me-there are *multiple* mentions of this. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. I don't know about you reading this, but my main reason for needing to stay at a hotel is simply to have a place to rest my head at night. That's it. My requirements are simple. Basic. I'm sorry, but when the bed I sleep on is infested with bugs, I will never visit this place, and most likely any other Best Western; ever again. Not to mention other problems which I will bullet point for you now as this is getting long: -a condom wrapper found under the bed of the room my friend was staying in -heavy smell of smoke in a non smoking room (we had 3 rooms total and had to switch 2 of them for this fact) -barking dogs in multiple rooms surrounding ours

"It seemed routine." Our hotel has a huge roster of repeat guests. Nothing seems or is routine to our staff. We can't control smokers smoking in non-smoking rooms. We also don't knowingly put non-smoking guests into smoking rooms. We're sorry you didn't like your stay.

"A nice alternative to staying in downtown Chicago."

The Best Western Plus in Hillside is conveniently located between O'Hare Airport (about 9 miles) and downtown Chicago (about 13 miles). If you have a rental car, it's easy to drive to and park at the Forest Park train station and take the Blue Line into the city. It's also convenient if you want to visit Oak Park to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright Center and do a walking tour of the homes he designed there, or visit Hemingway's birthplace. The rooms are quiet, there's a nice outdoor pool as well as a good exercise room, and the bar offers a variety of nightcaps before turning in.

"Weekend trip"

Hotel was not what I was lead to believe it was by their web page. Lots of truckers, railroad people and construction people. Had a no smoking room and people had smoked in it! Bedspread had burn hole. Staff was nice but I would not stay there again.

"Chicago Full - good alternative "

O'Hare cancelled flights so all downtown hotels filled and I had not made a reservation (everything open day before). Consequently we booked here one night and planned to move downtown for remainder of trip. We decided to stay here because (1) parking free vs up to $80 downtown (2) free shuttle to train and $5 roundtrip for 20 minute ride to downtown (3) quiet (4) cheaper by a lot. On the downside (1) full breakfast but not well prepared (2) hotel is worn. Rooms are clean but hallway looks old.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was efficient and friendly. We eat at the bar/lounge and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet ($6) is a great value. It had a big variety including fresh fruit. The pool looked well maintained but it was a little cool the day we were there. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in the area.

The bad: Hotel is shabby in some places. The first room we were in had ants; we were moved promptly after I called. In our second room the beds and pillows were lumpy but we were so tired we slept the whole night anyway. The good: Front desk service was incredibly polite and accommodating. We didn't know the 1st floor wasn't elevator accessible; they arranged a handicap room for us that worked better- and this was on a full Friday night. The breakfast is a $6 buffet and it is totally worth it! Coffee, juice, delicious fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, potatoes, French toast, waffles, etc. The staff here was very friendly too. This area of the hotel is very nicely updated. It runs til 11 and check out is at noon which was nice. Location is super easy to get to!! Easy to get back into town or head home (east in our case). It's in a nice neighborhood and felt safe outside (we got back at 1am and there was no loitering etc). Close to a Target and other shopping options. We didn't use the shuttle but they have info posted about it, looked like a good service if you need it.

In my experience the service has always be above and beyond. The rooms I have stayed in have everything I need. . refrig, coffee maker, micro wave. AND the pool just opened for the season. The location works well for my work obligations. I love most the friendliness of the staff.

"Not a fan of this particular hotel..."

This is definitely an older hotel with LOTS of rooms. The walls are thin and the room was smaller than I expected. The TV remote was missing batteries and our room (on the 2nd floor, north wing) had a beautiful view of the alley and overfilled dumpster. When we arrived and got out of our car, there was a super foul stench in the air that we could not figure out what it was. The front desk clerk was not friendly...at all. Overall, the room was clean I guess, but because the hotel is old it probably appears not as clean. Also, no free breakfast at this hotel.

"Horrible Service"

I just stayed there last week and it turned into a horrible experience. My husband made a reservation for me and confirmed with them that transportation to and from the airport would be provided. I wasn't going to stay in Chicago the night before flying out but I thought for the hassle of not having to drive in Chicago I'd stay at this hotel and spend a little extra money. When I arrived to the hotel I confirmed with the front desk that transportation was provided. I was given a ride to the airport, but when calling for my transposition back, I was told they don't do that. I asked to speak to a manager, who again told me they wouldn't do that. I got him to call the manager we booked with, who confirmed we were told we would receive transportation. A half hour of waiting at the airport later, I was told they would make arrangements for my transportation, but I would have to wait another hour and fifteen minutes for the van to pick me up. I was not going to wait around for 2 hours for a ride that was promised to me, so I had to fork out another $30 for a taxi, plus the $70 I wasted for the "convenience"... don't waste your time or money with these people.

"Heartless"

My daughter's flight wae cancelled out of O'Hare and the airline would not let her have her bags. This was at 1AM on May 15th. She didn't have her medication , no clothing etc. The next flight out was 3PM. She called me in tears and I found her a room at the Best Western in Hillside. She got there and chech-in was at 3PM........ Heartless people would not let her cancel and they had no rooms. Where is thoughtfullness, kindness, helpfullness?

This hotel was near what we needed to do but also was close to restaurants and stores to pick up those pesky items you forget. They have 24 hour shuttle service to the L stations and other locations, as well as quick service from Lyft drivers.

You will not beat this place for the money - skip Extended Stays, etc and settle on in to the Best Western Hillside - you will not be disappointed! I challenge any restaurant to top their tacos, outshine the bartenders or front desk staff. Try it, I guarantee you'll like it.

I used shuttle service and the driver was a people person. overall good experience with the staff, I booked multiple rooms for my family. They had good experience with staff and rooms as well. I will definitely book with them again.

"Clean and comfortable"

Hotel overall was clean and comfortable. Beds are comfortable and the room was clean and had everything that was needed. There's no free breakfast! That will improve the stay. And also more check in reps on the weekends. We had to wait about 10 mins before being checked in.

"5-10 minute drive to Blue Line"

I stayed here for two nights in late December, 2017. The room was clean and worked fine for my needs. I had less than a 10 minute drive to a convenient Blue Line Train station at Forest Park. I could leave my car at the Forest Park Station for $6 and conveniently ride the trains into Chicago. Best Western also has a shuttle which may have taken me to the station, (not sure) but I wanted access to my car when returning late from the downtown area.

No complaints. Easy enough to find. Kind of annoying to go in circles because Frontage Road is one way. But that's not the hotel's fault. All of the appliances in the hotel room worked properly. The restaurant breakfast package is excellent value. I would stay here again.

Well designed property with good amenities and a courteous, helpful staff. The well stocked bar and lounge was large with a good menu. I recommend the grilled chicken salad. Plenty of selections for the breakfast buffet. Very enjoyable stay.

"Rundown"

This is an older building that needs repairs. No hot water in the sink. Couldn't control the temperature on the AC/Heater. Beds were in poor enough shape that my wife and I both got back aches. Deffinetly would not recommend this hotel.

There is a band playing in the banquet hall that is vibrating my bed and the banquet hall is in a different wing. To add to that housekeeping was vacuuming the hallway outside of my room at 8:45 p.m. Don't stay here if you want to rest.

"The best nightly rate and breakfast in Chicago and good location"

Whenever I come to Chicago and it's usually about three of four times a year for about 6 to eight nights, I stay at this hotel. The location is very good, plenty of stores for shopping and food. Right off the highway and the staff as a whole is nice, the employee in the is GREAT, she is about 6feet tall, really nice smile and is very professional, I have seen her service up to 15 people with NO help, the rooms are dated.

I we started out staying here first but it cost so much for a family of 3 that's how we got to that NASTY MOTEL 6 I would love to stay here all the time if I could afford it because it much cleaner I also like the staff better

This was a nice, reasonably priced hotel with free parking within 30-40 min (depending on traffic) to downtown Chicago. The guys had ribs for supper at the restaurant that were delish! Clean rooms, lobby, bar, restaurant and staff was personable who also seemed to enjoy where they worked. We would stay here again.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. One way to avoid the nasty traffic is to take the train in. Our shuttle takes our guests to local train stations, from where you can go anywhere in Chicago.

The hotel lobby is very inviting. The front desk person was not very friendly nor inviting. Reserved a non smoking room but was given a smoking room until I asked for the non smoking room. The room was sub par. The sink clogged up and the room was a little dingy.

"Nice hotel, but..."

The room is well done; bed was comfortable. It was equipped with a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and re-charge ports. The room was very clean. Hallways were well lit, There is an exercise room. There was a restaurant on site, but nothing in walking distance. Some reviews spoke of the rooms being loud as the hotel is by the interstate. My room was on the back side of hotel and was quiet, no traffic noise. On the negative side, breakfast is not included. Most hotels similar to this have a complimentary breakfast. They provide a coupon to get a breakfast buffet in their restaurant for $6.00. It included eggs, hash browns, meat, pancakes, waffles, fruit, juice and yogurt. It was pretty good. The main reason I booked this hotel was for their shuttle. They provide a free shuttle to: O'hare airport, Forest Park Blue Line Station, Brookfield Zoo and restaurants, shopping etc within 5 miles of the hotel. You have to reserve the shuttle in advance. It goes once an hour. This worked well; going was no problem. BUT getting picked is very POOR service. The hotel definitely needs to do something about this. They have 2 shuttles. But yet most times I had to wait over an hour; once almost 2 hours to get picked up. Pathetic! I always stay at hotels with shuttle service and never have a wait like this. The shuttle drivers were good. It was not their fault, just so many people using the service and bad traffic. If you are staying at this hotel for the shuttle you may want to reconsider.

This hotel is located next to the freeway but very quiet and inviting. It's on a hill and is separate from other businesses around it. The breakfast advertised many items, however, it definitely lacked many items. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

I've stayed for business and leisure here many times over the last several years. Food is always great, plenty of free parking, they allow dogs and have lots of grass, rooms are comfy and clean. Staff is always helpful!

"Needs renovation"

Very old rooms. Small pillows and not comfortable beds. Water pressure is very bad. Smoke smell in hallway. Only thing good about the hotel was the staff who were very polite and helpful. But it's not worth the money or points.

i stay at this motel about every other day on business and have never had a problem with any of the staff until they employed the current night clerk lady Shawn, she is extremely and one the most unprofessional people I have had the displeasure to experience, on more the one occasion i have had to wait while she is sleeping in back room or while she eats or gets food before being checked in and always without an apology. dont let one bad apple spoil your stay,the rest of the staff are outstanding

Overall, the Worst hotel ever!! Although, This hotel sits on a gold mine for the location near the city of Chicago. There is a great surmount of guest staying at the hotel and yet, it really feels as if your staying at a motel rather than a real hotel. Looks very cheap looking from the outside but, the inside is the same, and the staff look like they came off the streets!

My father had surgery at hospital. BW was a hospital suggestion. Staff did very good job,nice room, clean bed and comfortable. Breakfast buffet given discount where can you go for $6 and get breakfast buffet.

After calling many hotels that came up as pet friendly on the usual price line type sites and they didn't allow pets, I called BW and asked about a pet friendly hotel in the area of Melrose Park, IL. The operator, a human being suggested BW Plus Hillside. We were given a room on the first floor that wasn't very far from an exit. There is plenty of room to walk your dogs away from the traffic. We will be back!

Check in was great. I was in a line of one and the desk clerk was doing fine, however, the manager saw a customer waiting and took care of me. The room was clean and well maintained with a comfortable bed. Breakfast, though discounted not included with the room was well done. A standard breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, waffles etc. The buffet was set up nicely and enough for a bus load of people, which is good because that's what they had. They moved right along and it went well. Although, not there for the bus check in, I met them on the way to their rooms and they seemed satisfied with the service. A friendly staff only made the experience better.

The hotel is next to the highway, so it's easy to drive to both Chicago airports and surrounding areas. The hotel itself is average, rooms and hall need an urgent update in furniture and decoration. Rooms are quiet, bathroom small and wifi works ok. Breakfast is just 6,95 USD, very good for the price. Excellent parking area.

The outside of the hotel looked like one big ashtray, the staff is not knowledgeable on the rewards program, They don't ask you if your a member of any groups so that your payment can get lower. EX Armed forces, AARP. For the price they charge your not treated like a 5 star customer. no parking for diamond or higher Customers. They don't offer smoking rooms as like other Best Western Hotel do.

Easy commute from O'Hare Airport and to Downtown. Met my needs. Breakfast was quick and convenient, very affordable, great start to the day. I plan to return for future visits to Chicago and take advantage of other amenities.

There are the attractions of Grant Park, not to mention the theatre district and every kind of food in the world. Near the hotel is Fitzgerald's Night Club, a nationally recognized American Roots music club. And there are the Frank Lloyd Wright houses in Oak Park. Chicago's Brookfield Zoo is also nearby.

I hated it!! I was supposed to stay 4 nights , but I left after 1 night because the exit door near my room slammed so hard that it shook my door and the wall around it. I wasn't going to put up with that for 4 nights, so I left.

More staff available at the front desk for check in/checkout. They only had 1 person checking people in/out and answering the phone. 2. Offer turkey bacon as well as regular bacon and omelettes. Otherwise the stay was good.

Not a bad hotel, except for the continuing noise all night from the adjacent I290 expressway. But the hotel can't change its location!! Other than that, what else is there to say? An OK hotel. I probably wouldn't stay there again, but it's an OK hotel.

The only thing I found lacking was that the fixtures could use a up grade. Great value service was good and location made it easy to run into Chicago from here. They gave a great deal on breakfast and I would suggest this hotel to stay in when you are staying in Chicago and are on a budget.

Long walk to room for disabled not sensitive to moving us. Mold on ceiling broken furniture no fan in bathroom. Breakfast was 10.99 and nothing to brag about. Staff not sensitive to disabled and wanted to charge more to get us closer to elevator

Centrally located between O'Hare and also Midway airports, downtown Chicago and nearby suburbs as well as being located right off of the Eisenhower Expressway, makes this hotel extremely convenient. The staff are attentive and the facilities are excellent. Plenty of shopping, gas stations, and entertainment are nearby. Banquet hall and bar are a plus factor.

The front desk staff were nice. Other than that we were pretty dissatisfied. Interior is shabby, pillows are tiny square things, AC is atinky and needs a filter change or something, parts of the bathroom were not especially clean. There are better places to stay.

"Disgusting Receptionist."

I and my family arrived at this hotel on the 16th of July. The checking in process was very easy and quick, we were delighted since we traveled on a long flight and we were very tired. We read online that the shuttle would carry us from the airport to the hotel, unfortunately by our mistake we ended up going to the wrong terminal and by the time we got to the pickup location the shuttle was already gone. We ended up taking a taxi which cost us $50 US from O'Hare International Airport to Best Western Plus Chicago hotel. During our stay at the hotel, the shuttle was a big help at dropping us to stores & fast food restaurants. Unfortunately, they couldn't take us to downtown Chicago as they said they would. Me and my family were very disappointed but tried not to make it so important. A next thing with the shuttle service is when they're picking you back up. It's such a hassle and you must wait very long. It got to the point that me and my family just got an Uber to drive us back to the hotel. The bedroom was clean when we got inside so as the bathroom. My only complaint about the bedroom is that the bed sheets and pillows were very cheap and uncomfortable in the middle of night I woke up to sore neck and arms, the sheet cushion would go to one side of the sheet making it fall off the bed. In the bathroom, the ceiling had moles on the ceiling which I found disgusting. The breakfast was good but the eggs could've been more seasoned with cheese and black pepper. Overall, I would give this hotel a 3-star rating but an incident changed my mind. Now to the receptionist. At the end of our visit one of the receptionist was very rude. The attitude she displayed was so absolutely disgusting. The shuttle driver told the woman that their needs to be two trips to the airport since me and my family have a lot of luggage but instead of listening and trying to resolve the issue the woman gave so much attitude and totally disrespected my mother which results in me in giving this hotel a 2-star rating, should've been 1 star but I'm being generous. The receptionist I'm talking about above is a light skin woman and she is the one that directs the shuttles. If you want to be treated with respect, I wouldn't advise anyone to stay here. But if you want to go ahead, everyone else's experience is different. I had more to share about my experience here but I have a life to get back to… sigh.

Thank you for writing a review. Please know, the shuttle has never served the Loop. It does take guests to local train lines which travel downtown. The shuttle is a courtesy, not a guaranteed ride. That said, what happened to you was wrong. We apologize for your mother's experience. If you read other reviews, you will see that we are all about respect. What happened to your family was unacceptable. The woman in question will be required to explain her behavior.

Rooms are great and people are friendly. Great breakfast that includes eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage fruit, and cereal. My bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom seemed very clean as well. I would stay here again.

This hotel has a very nice outdoor pool area. Every stay is an enjoyable one. With a hot breakfast offered every morning it's a great way to start the mornings! The rooms are very clean and each room has fast wireless internet connection!

This was my second time staying at this hotel and both times were very good. I appreciated that they have a pet friendly section so I could travel with my dog. My room smelled clean and fresh. The staff was very friendly. My room was very clean. Both times that I have stayed there I ate in the restaurant. They have a great menu selection and the food is really good. I would definitely stay there again if I were in the area.

Terrible heating and cooling. Was extremely loud. People in hallways were very loud and inconsiderate for other people's well being. Did not sleep well at all. Was awakened all hours of night and morning.

Hotel is an older property, but clean and well kept. Desk staff was friendly, room is clean, and the restaurant far exceeded expectations! We stayed on a Wednesday night, and the lobby was busy. The bar & restaurant were nearly empty, but we decided to eat here anyway based on the TripAdvisor reviews. I had ribs (1/2 rack, which came with a generous & fresh salad) and a HUGE helping of potato wedges.... It was all delicious! My friend has the taco pizza, and it was larger than expected and also tasted excellent. The coffee was very good as well. We did not have enough room to eat dessert, so I cannot comment on that, but would certainly try it, given the complete success with the other choices. The 2 dinners & beverages came to about $25 total with tax!

The guest relations at the front desk were so professional and helpful! Would highly recommend this hotel! The front desk employee was so caring and nice! We had a few unforeseen issues and she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to solve the issues! The hotel itself was very nice and clean. The restaurant was very clean and nice, also!

"Not Happy"

I made my reservations several months in advance for three rooms. Two king size rooms and one room with two queen beds. On check-in all three rooms were with double queen beds, but the staff quickly fixed this issue. The main issues with this hotel were that a pool was listed on the website. When we checked in there was a sign on the counter that the pool is closed for repair from June first until July 31st. If this had been listed on the website, we would have changed to a hotel that did have a working pool. In addition, the ice machines on the first floor were out of order. The breakfast offered was good, however the price of $6.00 was a little high. That was the price whether you had a bagel, some fruit , a bowl of cereal, or the full breakfast. Since everything was on the buffet, you had to pay $6.00 for whatever you choose to have for breakfast. I guess that is the price because the restaurant inside the hotel puts out the breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel location.

"Inexpensive; Lots of Room for Improvement"

We stayed here during the 2017 National Restaurant Association show. It's about 14 miles out from McCormick Center and downtown, but inexpensive. Rooms were clean, though kind-of poorly designed (bathroom counter falling off of walls (need more underneath support, especially in the front); technically not enough room for 2 double-beds (there should only be 1 king-sized bed in a room that size), which results in no leg room between one bed and the heater/ac unit against the window; thin walls so we could hear our neighbors carrying on late at night). The breakfast buffet? Hopefully they give every guest enough $6.99 coupons to last their entire stay because honestly it's not worth $10. It's the typical morning fare you'll find in every hotel (eggs, potatoes, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, etc.), except that most hotels would consider this their complimentary continental spread. The staff we interacted with (bartender and front desk) were pretty friendly. The lady at the front desk helped my coworkers with printing their boarding passes the morning we were leaving. If I were to come to the area again, I wouldn't rule this place out, but I probably wouldn't make it my first choice.

I'm calling this average but there is no "good" category. Room was clean, A/C unit noisy (as usual for these types of buildings). Staff considerate and helpful. Breakfast as expected too. Needed a car (though we anticipated that) to go anywhere.

Only stayed 1 night after arriving at MDW on our way to Springfield,had a good sized king room which was nice apart a noisy bathroom fan and a/c unit(but we found on this trip all the a/c units were noisy in all the hotels,Oz doesn't suffer from this problem),the breakfast buffet was not only very good but also good value for money($6.60) with loads of items and waiter service for the tea & coffee.All the staff we came in contact were polite & friendly(unlike others on this trip).

The Best Best Western to visit when in Illinois. The rates are very reasonable, the staff is amazing, the new chef makes your food order perfectly, overall the experience was complete satisfaction each time we stay.

"Family gathering for repass service."

I needed to plan a family, funeral repass service on Wednesday 6/14/17 for the gathering of family members beginning Fri ending Tues 6/20/17. Sales Mgr. Jagat "Jay" D. Pandya, was very helpful in securing sleeping rooms for family. Check-in staff was friendly and professional even after the expected sleeping rooms doubled. Food, Banquet Mgr. John was caring, patient, understanding as well as helpful. John recognized in fact that I did not know how to anticipate the number people that would attend. In choosing the room he took in consideration the elderly and those in wheel chairs. In that short time I upped my numbers twice. The lunch was delicious. The kitchen staff was fast, courteous and helpful. The bar staff and night cook staff were also very helpful. The pizza and salad was a big hit. The lobby and lounge areas were very busy but clean and well managed. This hotel has been my "go to" hotel for years but I've never needed EXTRA SERVICE. The in door pool was down and there was a sulfur smell in the lobby bathroom and the banquet room (I did not report this to John).

Had a king room reservation, got to my room and it was a double. It seems it used to be a king based on the size and location of the headboard and the no space between the 2 beds and the wall or window. Because there was no headboard on one of the beds, the electrical outlet was right by the pillow, it was loose and exposed. Had to cover it with extra pillows during the night. Moved to another room the next day. Too bed I didn't have the energy of switching rooms when I checked in and saw it's a double. Also, the duvet covers on the bed were just nasty. Bad odor and quality. Next day I moved to a king that was nicer, at least I didn't have the feeling that I'll get dirty if I touch anything in the room. Right ny the highway, but noisy. Good location. Breakfast was great value for the money. Breakfast service was bad. I got there 2 hours before the end of the breakfast. There was no bacon or sausage left. I asked the staff to replenish. They brought bacon after 10 minutes. I asked 3 more times for sausage. They finally brought some at my table when I finished the breakfast (30-40 minutes). I still tipped them...it was probably the kitchens fault not the server

The front desk staff are wonderful, so are the people working the breakfast bar. And that is everything positive I have to say. There was a sock and a plastic bag from someone else in my room and the TV remote was missing, all stuff the cleaning staff should have taken care of. I know there was cleaning staff since there was always a cleaning cart in the hallway. The bathrooms were tiny. The exterior needs the landscaping refreshed. The location is difficult to drive to safely.

Hotel was much better 1-2 years ago! Has become degraded somewhat, with complimentary breakfast removed also. All light bulbs in room did not work. Condition of lobby was dirty. All in all, one gets what one pays for, but this hotel was much better in the past.

"We've stayed here before"

As time passes changes happen sometimes for the better sometime worse. Such it was the case this time. I'm not saying it was a bad experience by any means. The manager had changed as did her demeanor. She was courteous but not as personable as her predecessor. The room A/C didn't work, the security guard was also the maintenance person which took him away his guard duties. We were moved to a different room, which was comfortable.

We chose this hotel because of the free parking and shuttle service. The hotel itself was very busy but everything went smoothly. The shuttle service was great and easy to use. The rooms were mostly clean, I think one of the hand towels in the bathroom was used and rehung and the vacuuming could have been better. Other than those two things the hotel was great. I am a very picky hotel person and I would choose to stay here again. The Breakfast is worth the price--ask at check-in for a reduced rate voucher.

Great hotel and very helpful people there, would stay again and tell friends and family. I liked the transportation to and from where we needed to go l Nice and friendly shuttle to and from Hotel The L was an experience in its self for our first time but got the hang of it. Then caught a bus to the Navy Pier which was awesome. did so much in 3 days can't wait to visit again.

My group stayed one night and had breakfast the following morning before we left on our way to Minneapolis. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillows and it was quiet for sleeping. There is a bar, meeting room, an exercise room, Internet, ice, laundry facilities, an outdoor pool, safety deposit boxes and photocopying. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of food and wonderful servers.

Hotel room was clean with comfortable beds and pillows. Staff was friendly. Had to wait to check in for over an hour because we arrived early and rooms. Check in time was 3pm and we arrived at 1:45. The transportation vans that take patrons to train station or airport free of charge were always booked so we drove ourselves to train station. Breakfast buffet was very good and reasonably priced. Swimming pool was drained and closed so we were unable to swim. For that reason we will be staying elsewhere when we return to Chicago July 14,15. Take an UBER car and download the app in downtown Chicago. Taxis cheat you out of money by taking the long way around to your destination. So many homeless people in Chicago. Very sad! Overall our trip was enjoyable despite the little minor annoyances.

The hotel has a very good casual fee. One minor issue was my room who seemed like was connected to another locked room, I could hear the television in the other room. But it was brief and minor and did not interfere much. The place is close to the city and close to Oak Park, close to the expressway. I will stay there again. I travel for business.

At check in: agent was very slow and when I ask if she had a non smoking room or if she could help me in anyway as Im a non smoker all she said was no and can't do anything in no way customer friendly at all. Hallways stunk of marijuana and Room stunk of cigarettes! I could not sleep at all and I woke up with a huge headache! Your lobby was gorgeous and your breakfast was great! Your staff during breakfast were excellent always on top of everything and super friendly always greeted you asked if everything was okay.

The weather was awful but the hotel was nice. Very good price and a short drive from the city. Nice to have a restaurant in the hotel for convenience. The house keeper tucked in my kids stuffed animals each morning and they really like that. Very thoughtful. Overall and excellent experience, would stay here again.

"I would stay there agin"

This hotel was fairly nice but the staff could improve a bit. It would have been nice for the staff to be more informative. We checked in late at night for an early morning flight. We took the shuttle to the airport, which was perfect. We did the park and fly-which was extremely hard to find a parking spot at 9 PM at night-but we had no idea if we had to put a tag in the car to say we paid for the park and fly option-we worried our whole trip that we may come back to a towed car. Also, we were never told how to get shuttle back from airport to hotel. I figured it out after calling, but it would have been nice to arrange a pick up since I was told it would be an hour to wait for shuttle. I realize there is traffic but I don't think it is hard to check flight statuses of arriving guests and arrange their time accordingly to be there when we landed. If this was an option, this wasn't shared with us. Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable, it just lacked in providing information. I can't say the price is really that great of a deal for parking and fly. Other hotels offer same price and may be more helpful.

the hotel is clean and big, the room is nice, they clean your room everyday we got some clean towels. It was close to the venue for the festival we were attending that weekend is a Little bit expensive but I guess is because of the location. no problems with the parking! what I love about the hotel is the big corridors they look amazing.

Checked in with a bus tour from Columbus, Ohio. Wonderful surprise. Nice and clean rooms. Full Breakfast with waffles, eggs (omelet and scrambled), sausage, bacon, melons, apples, oranges. It was wonderful!

"Good in some ways"

The housekeeping staff and quality of the room were great. They kept supplies of coffee and condiments stocked up well and kept the room clean and tidy. The service in the catering areas and reception though were rather rushed and understaffed. The quality of the staff were very variable and they were very overworked. I made probably over 12 attempts to get the breakfast vouchers that were included in my room rate. In the end I got them gradually. Quite what the point in having breakfast vouchers are I don't know, when surely it's easy for reception to communicate to the restaurant which rooms have breakfast included. Or else if a breakfast voucher is really necessary why not just give one voucher with the dates of stay and that gets shown each day and ticked off. We walked into the restaurant the second night of our stay with about a dozen customers in there and was told we would get a quicker service in the bar? So we went in the bar and had exactly the same menu, probably cooked by the same chef. We ate in the bar many nights after that and the bar tenders were rushed off their feet. One night we ordered a drink before our meal and the drink arrived after we finished the meal, he gave recognition that he bodged up. I really couldn't complain because the entire time he was in front of me he was wandering from one customer task to the other, throwing bottles in the bin, working probably faster than anyone and not having a split second break to take stock of what he needed to do next. Having been a hotel manager I know what that is like when you get busy times. But equally he was understaffed because he was not just a bar tender, he was a waiter. And no doubt the restaurant staff were probably diverting customers to the bar every night. In fact some nights when I looked in the restaurant it was completely empty and their were lots of people eating in the bar. The same could be said of the receptionists at certain times of the days. The drinks machines on each floor are a great idea, saves you going to reception or the bar when you needed drinks (and there is no bottled water provided in the rooms). Unfortunately I managed to get drinks out of the machines on the first day, but the remaining 6 days the machines were empty on all floors. Being a Platinum Best Western member I would have thought they could at least provide bottled water in the rooms, Accorhotels even give you one free drink at the bar. The only way my status was acknowledged was at check in with a rather reluctant and tired worn out voice, saying thank you for being a Best Western rewards member.

I have stayed here many times for business, and have never been disappointed! The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, the breakfast buffet is great, the lounge never disappoints, and workout room has all of the amenities you could ask for.

"CIS Meeting"

The service was outstanding. People who really care. Internet that was able to keep up with video streaming. My room was quiet and I actually got a good nights rest first night there. I found the transportation excellent for my four trips to O'Hare picking up guests for the meeting. All the people in our group had an excellent time.

We had a late flight from Midway Airport so we stayed here for the night. We arrived around 10:30 and were able to still order food from their lounge/restaurant. The sandwiches were very good. After seeing large portions served to the tables we decided to split a sandwich(which was plenty) Rooms are dated but clean and they had a nice staff and plenty of parking. Because we arrived late we did not see much of the area, it is was located right off the interstate

Guests looking for an evening out should consider Fitzgerald's Night Club, just a few miles east of the hotel. "Bar Needs Some Attention"

Been here a few times, this past year. Front Desk Staff, Great! Rooms, Great! Breakfast Buffet, Great! Bar - NEEDS ATTENTION! Staff very slow to re-supply drinks and take orders from Patrons at Bar, despite being alerted to their presence. Last week, one of my Colleagues got up and walked out after being ignored for 20 minutes, plus. Despite no more than 20-25 people in the room, the Patrons appear to be a bother to the Staff. The last night we were there, last week, my Colleagues didn't bother going down to the Bar and ordered outside food to be delivered. A fairly decent hotel, except for the Bar Service.

Booked a express deal on price line for 99$ plus tax. Breakfast is 6-7$ extra. Breakfast buffet is really good but is not as good as the pictures on the website. If you are going to downtown, 290 can get really backed up easy commute to downtown if traffic is good. The hotel is clean.

"Lady working Late Night"

Never got to check in the room because the lady at the desk must of been having a bad day and she took it out on us. She would not take our credit card. She wanted us to pay cash. I was willing to pay cash however when I asked her that I will need a receipt since I was paying cash, she said that I would get one when we checked out. Typically when I pay cash for a room at checking anywhere I stay at, the front desk always gives me a receipt. That's not the case in this hotel. I also believe she might need some customer service training. I think she was the same lady I spoke on the phone to make a reservation a few nights before and I had to call three times because no one would pick up around 1am in the morning. When she did pick up she was very upset and Irritated. I must of woken her up from her sleep. When I told her it was my third time calling she said "no, the phone never rang you are wrong" and that "it was better to book on-line". Needless to say the Extended Stay Hotel next to them were able to accommodate me and my family and was able to pay with my credit card.

"Decent for the Price"

I arrived late in the evening and checked out early in the morning, so I didn't spend much time at this hotel. Maybe I missed out on some of the better features of it; however, from what I did see and experience, I was not overly impressed. I'm a Best Western Platinum member, so I've stayed at my fair share of them. The room size was good and had everything that a BW Plus should have, but it generally seemed tired. The Wi-Fi connectivity was good enough for what I needed, but most of the TV channels were not in HD. The customer service at the front desk was adequate, but not what I would describe as friendly. This hotel seems to check the required boxes, but not much more.

I like this hotel because it has a huge parking area. Internet works in the room, pretty good speed but unfortunately face time hardly work. It has good small gym area. This hotel is close to target and other stores.It is just beside interstate 290, this is only drawback,because all day and night you will hear highway noise even in closed windows. you can't open the window because its so loud outside. I stayed for 3 days, cleaning was very good. the lady change the bed sheets every day. I checked every day. It is at center of Chicago. you can go to downtown or to north or west.

Me and my friend were just staying over night for our flight to CA. When we first arrived , front desk was very hectic, it's was a shorter older woman , we waited probably 5-10 minutes while she ran back and forth with the phone constantly ringing (*mind you when I called in to make sure my reservation when through I had to call 5 times because no one would answer) she said our room number out loud , I work in this industry that is a HUGE no ! 3rd shift front desk didn't pick up the phone either when I called in the morning . .. I believe it's the owner he was very polite and nice . When I asked for a replacement key, he verified it was me with my ID . I really felt like he cares . The shuttle driver was also very nice , it was the female . Overall nice stay , rooms were good . I'd say retrain your front desk , there was no reason so a wait time like that but no line ..

My family and I stayed here again last weekend (October 1, 2016). This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. This hotel is located right off the expressway which makes it easy to get to and from other locations in Chicago. We booked 4 rooms this visit for ourselves and other family members. The desk clerks were friendly. Our rooms were very neat and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the message on the shower felt fantastic! This last trip sealed the deal. I decided that this will be my "Go To" hotel whenever I visit Chicago. This hotel is very nice at a very reasonable price.

I met Shirley three years ago in the dining room, seek her out she will take care of you like your Mom or Grandma. You will know her she is in her 80s and works around the younger staff. I wish they would employ more elders like her. She takes care of your needs and is great testament to God's love. The hotel staff is friendly and willing to help make your stay pleasant.

"Great Location, Staff Not So Good"

I checked in on 8/20/16 and assigned a room by the male attendant. When I opened the door to the room it became obvious someone was in the shower and their clothes were on the bed so I backed out. When I returned to the front desk there was a different attendant who proceeded to insist there was no one in the room that I'd just left. After I insisted there was she backed down and assigned a new room. When I requested she make sure I would not be charged for the 1st room she became perturbed and stated didn't I give you a new room. I explained the mix up was by Best Western and not me. The new room was fine but I found the staff was not very friendly over the course of my stay. The

I found this room through Expedia, although I normally check the BW website. The rate was excellent; it made the choice of hotel a no-brainer. The hotel is easy to reach, was within a reasonable distance of the places I was visiting, and the room rate (a special deal) was a steal. I'll come back if I ever need a hotel in this area in the future. (Usually I stay with family.)

I checked in for one night. Check in staff excellent and process went fast after 15 hours flying from Dubai. Room ok, good value for money. However wifi is 0/10. I had so much work and a conference call and was dependent on this but wifi didn't work. Tried to communicate with AM staff but seems no one bothered. TV quality is also bad .

Nice hotel close to the highway, competitive pricing, & clean. Their restaurant offers a breakfast, although not free guests receive a discount and the food was excellent. Definitely would consider staying here again. Only 10 min drive to Living Word Christian Center!

This hotel is conveniently located. The free parking and free WIFI made it an acceptable choice for us. It is slightly rundown, but the hotel staff was friendly. The restaurant served decent quality food, but the waitstaff was not very friendly or welcoming. Had to search for morning coffee and felt put off.

"I will NEVER stay here again "

When we first checked in, they told us if we need a shuttle to call the front desk. We called at 3:00 for a shuttle. They told us it will be ready at 5. We went down at 5 and she said it still wasn't ready. The shuttle driver said do they need to go somewhere. I'm not on a ride so I can take them. He told us all we had to do was come down stairs and they can take us anywhere we want to go in 5 miles and to the O'Hara airport. That's not even the bad part! Our room was covered in ants. They were 'nice' enough to switch our room. Then once we switched, they turned around and gave it to someone else. They ended up having to give them another room shortly after they checked in. The rooms are outdated! The towels are cheap and old. The bed was just okay. There was nothing special about the room at all. The breakfast was good ($6) and one guy who worked the front desk was nice. I wish I got his name. They shuttle driver and the restaurant workers were nice too. The little lady at the front was NOT friendly at all. The wi-fi was down for almost a day. Oh well, I will never stay there again.

"A comfortable stay"

check in was simple, I had booked my night on-line & they had a room allocated. It was on the 2nd floor & there were two lifts. Staff were friendly & efficient. The room was spacious & clean, the bed was freshly made & comfortable. The bathroom was also clean. The room had a fridge. The limited view was of the motel next door. Wi-Fi was free & was strong. There was a wall air conditioning & it worked efficiently. There was noise from the corridor from conventioneers returning late. The motel is on highway frontage road so you need a car to access local eateries &shops. I would certainly stay here again.

Very clean hotel. Only there for overnight but had a very nice view. Would stay there again. When we got to the room, the air conditioner was on and it was cool in the room. It was very hot and humid outside, so it was nice and cool for sleeping.

"Surprisingly updated and very clean"

I must begin by saying there are aspects of this hotel about which I cannot comment. I was sequestered at this hotel during jury duty, and the jurors had to move as a group, guarded by sheriff deputies to ensure 1) our safety and 2) that we had no communication with outsiders. As a result, this review covers the room, the restaurant, and the bar only. The room was surprisingly updated, having fresh carpet with no stains. The bathroom was newer, with granite, a working hair dryer, and an additional sink/mirror outside of the main bathroom so that two people can get ready at the same time. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the mattress had a bedbug protective cover. The restaurant offers a buffet as well as a menu. The dinner buffet was surprisingly large, and included a pasta station where you could choose from a number of ingredients. The breakfast buffet included a number of hot dishes, hot cereal, cold cereal, juices, etc. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets received favorable reviews from the people in my party. One person ordered off the menu. Her dishes were well prepared and the portions were huge. The bar area is surprisingly large and attractive, but beverage options are limited. They offered house wines only, no wine list, and a member of the party asked for a cocktail that they were not able to provide due to lack of ingredients. If I needed a hotel near that location I would not hesitate to go there again.

We came to Chicago for a metal music festival. Bunch of people stayed in this hotel for the festival. The pool side was fantastic, noone to bother, very clean pool. The staff was really nice and easy going. THE BREAKFAST WAS TO DIE FOR!!! They had mad variety and a big platter of bacon that just never ended, needless to say perfection. The rooms very very clean, the cleaning staff was awesome and very friendly. The beds are super comfy and there is more then 2 pillows! WIll definitely be back for next year with a group again.

"Last Minute Find"

Due to bad weather in the northeast, many flights out of Midway were cancelled, leaving hundreds of travelers scrambling for hotels. I grabbed a booking for one of the few reasonably priced Midway area hotels, only to find they were overbooked. By this post, virtually all hotel rooms in the entire Chicago area were booked, so the online booking service that made the double booking offered to send me to this Best Western Plus. Since I had no other option, I decided to take it and hope for the best. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find that check-in was quick and easy. I had a room on the top floor in the north wing. It was larger and had more features than a room I had paid twice as much for in the Loop. It was clean, especially the bathroom, and had a fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea maker as well as a large flat screen tv. The free wifi worked, but was a little slow. I could hear the family next door as the kids bounced around, but luckily they went to sleep the same time I did! The a/c in the room was freezing and loud when I first checked in, but I figured how to turn off the fan and it was fine then. The hallways are quit warm though. The cafe downstairs had a nice breakfast buffet with a make your own waffle station, eggs, bacon,oatmeal, cereal,fruits, etc as well as a menu. I was charged less than $7 for the buffet, which I felt was very reasonable considering the variety of hot and cold foods. I could not get into my airline's website at the business center to print my boarding pass, so I am not sure if the site was down or if it was the computers at the hotel. There is no shuttle to Midway, so I took an Uber for under $40. For those with a car, the parking lot appeared quite large. Considering my only other alternative was to sleep at the airport, I was very glad to have found this Best Western and felt comfortable staying there.

located at Illinois within 10-15 minutes of downtown yet in a noiseless area with enough parking. rooms are spacious , clean , hygienic , offer good view and are storing small mini fridge, wi-fi, ironing board, aircon, hair dryers and colour flat screen cable TV. ice machine on every floor ! small but comfortable restaurant brimming with guests during breakfast which of course not complimentary but one can buy discounted coupons . fax, photocopying services , fitness centre and pool are available.

The room was very clean. The staff were friendly. I couldn't get the wireless password to work, but the staff were able to get me connected. There is nothing close enough to walk to for restaurants, but there are a couple or restaurants that deliver. I stayed here for a test I had to take, otherwise, would probably look elsewhere.

The hotel management is very shady! After I checked out I was charged pet fees when I didn't have pets. I spoke with personal and managers 3 times about charges on my credit card and they said it would be taken care of but never did. The pool has neighborhood visitors that come every night even though they don't stay at the hotel. Location and cost was great though..

If the Westin is booked, then I come here but if the Westin is booked maybe I'll try DoubleTree. Staff was rude, barely said two words. Didn't tell me the amount until after he swiped. The rate online was different than what he charged me. Didn't provide the Wifi password. The hot water wasn't working. May be they were having a bad day that day.

"Good location"

This is the second time we stayed at this Best Western.The best part of this hotel is its location right off 290. It's easy to get to and from the city. Free wi-fi and parking are a plus in Chicago. Breakfast is available, but it would be nice to have it included in the price of the room. I'm not sure why some BW's do and others do not. It was a 90 degree day when we arrived. The air conditioner was on when we got to our room. It was very loud and rattling terribly, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep with all that noise. My husband went down and requested a different room, which was no problem. Cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms are very good. The room is on the smaller side as is the bathroom. I'm not sure why I didn't have as good of feeling with this stay as the last time. Maybe I was just tired. Even my husband said maybe we should look for a different place on our next visit.

Good basic hotel. Busy place but staff were helpful and attentive. Clean and bed was very comfortable. Bathrooms are a bit small. Convenient location, decent value. Breakfast buffet is worthwhile, decent hot breakfast selection with fresh fruit.

"Staff was not so friendly "

Hotel was clean and right off of the highway. I went to the front desk to ask a question and actually stood there for about 3 minutes while one lady was on the phone, another woman who I was standing directly in front of and a man who was at the other end of the desk fiddling with papers completely ignored my existence. It wasn't until I finally said "excuse me, can someone tell me where the pool is located" that I actually got someone's attention. It wasn't even the woman I was standing directly in front of (she may have been Asian) she still continued to down right ignore the fact that I was even there. The man at the far end of the desk spoke up and gave me directions. He was friendly in doing so. Housekeeping is a whole other story! The woman who cleaned my room told me that she was quitting and that was her last day because she could not work alongside of the Mexicans that steal. She told me to never leave anything of value in my room because chances are they would steal it. I was shocked. Maybe she was saying it because it was her last day but it still left me weary of leaving my things in the room. From that day forward (I stayed 7 nights) I kept my do not disturb sign on the door and only asked for fresh towels and trash bags. The pool was a fresh place to sit out and enjoy the sun. Most of the other hotels in the area have only indoor pools so it was nice to find one that was outside. It was clean and well maintained.

"Descent Hotel"

Our first night at this hotel was not great. We made reservations about a week in advance and called to relay our arrival time on check-in day. My reservation was for a non-smoking room for four days but we had to accept a smoking room during check-in because no non-smoking rooms were available. No apology given; take it or leave was the attitude I received from the individual at the front desk. Long story short- talked to the manager the next morning; he switched our room and offered us a free breakfast. Aside from the inconvenience of having to relocate the next morning and the take or leave it, unapologetic attitude of that individual at the front desk during check-in, our stay was otherwise uneventful and the second room was clean and smelled a lot better.

Worst pick up time. More than 40 minutes. Next morning going back was less than 10 minutes because our driver did not take the freeway and told us that some drivers take the freeway to actually "kill time". It made sense. Our room was fine. It was big, only two (non-watchable) news channels in TV: CNN and Fox. Room had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Everything was clean. Restaurant served food. However, the disconcerting factor was the waitress. She was quite old and she was not happy due to some physical problems. It made us so sad that eating was simply a difficult task. Food was bad. Pizza was cut in little squares like we have seen ONCE in Norway!!!! The bar person was wonderful and the drinks were good. Wake up call did not work and the management did not care at all that it did not work. Fortunately we were jet lagged and were up early any way. Will I stay there again? Probably not.

Really enjoyed this place. We were in an RV and towing a car and they had plenty of room for both. We could see out rig from our window so it was very handy for checking on it. It was a 15 minute trip from downtown so we were able to enjoy the city without worrying about parking a 32 foot RV.

Me, my sister and my mom stayed a weekend at this hotel, friday through monday. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were neat and well-cleaned, and adequatley sized. The staff was Friendly and helpful, and were allways availave to assist you with whateveryou may need. The only minus would be the breakfast buffét, which wasn't included (allthough that's what our booking information told us). The food was not fantastic, but not flat out bad either. Overall, we had a good stay at the best western Hillside.

Honestly, the only thing about the stay that was good was the rooms. They were clean! Flat screen. Air unit didn't really cool the whole room well, but it wasn't awful. My main complaint is with the customer service. There was one lady there working the desk that was very nice and helpful. The rest acted like they didn't want to be there. We went into the bar late to get some food and the bartender was very rude to us. He acted like he was annoyed that we were even there. The business center is laughable. One working computer out of two and the monitor is set so high on the wall you have to strain your neck. Also, the printer didn't work! I needed to print concert tickets and I literally had to go behind the front desk to use their computers to print something. Ridiculous! Last complaint is, it's so hot in that hotel. Hardly anything is air conditioned. So in the summer heat, you walk in to an even hotter hotel. The hallways and stairways aren't air conditioned, so walking to your room or to an elevator can cause you to work up a sweat before you even get outside! We won't be back.

Hidden Gem not too far from Downtown Chicago, Great Food at Charlies Cafe, if that's the name of it.... The Bar is not overly crowded but the bartender Brent is amazing.... Makes the best drinks thus far... Which is perfect so you can just crawl back up to your room and crash out!

I stayed there for 2 days during my joining the trade show in Chicago. Although it is far from Conventional Center in Chicago, but it is a good hotel with good price there. The room is large and very clean. There is free service for shuttle bus from hotel to Philadelphia Airport.

State of Illinois requires holders of licensing through the Dept. of Registration @ Education obtain continuing education credits each licensing period. Being one of those I attended a seminar at the Best Western. Typical conference room setting, however, every detail seemed to be addressed. Continental breakfast, hot & cold beverages, etc. Typically when attending such an event the room temperature seems to be an issue. Quite comfortable here. Minimal noise distractions and the lunch provided was remarkably good. I have attended more of these events than I care to count over 38 years and find the Best Western to be one of the best.

This Best Western is a nice place to stay. The spacious rooms are equipped with a small refrigerator & microwave. The beds & sheets are nice, but because the hotel is right off of the highway the rooms it is a little loud at night, but definitely not unbearable. The staff is also very friendly, and that's always a bonus. I don't have a complaint about this hotel!

The room was very clean, as were the hallways and public areas. Bed was comfortable. The bed had 4 little square pillows which were pretty soft; I prefer a firmer pillow, myself. The desk workers were polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a great deal and very convenient. Other than someone talking in the hallway at full volume at 5:00am, we had no issues with noise.

While the room was nice, the facilities seems to have challenges with maintenance. It is an older facility and there was not a way to access the north tower from parking, so we had to access through the Lobby from either the East or West tower entrances. The lock on the west entrance would not work and another customer let us in and let us know they had the same problem. Half of the channels on the TV were snow, but the rest were ok. The biggest problem was Internet. For most of the 2 days, we had no Internet. Wireless seemed to be ok, but no internet. While in the core of the building we had Internet, but once we got to our room, no internet. We called and talked with the front desk many times, but no resolution. Each time we were told they would call us back, but no call back. We also called the Internet Help Line and they gave us a ticket number, but never got a call back. On each of the issues, we communicated to the front desk and received no confirmation anything was ever done. This was a family trip and we were wanting to use our phones and computers to plan our days outings. The challenges only added stress and made it more difficult to plan. The saddest thing is that no one at the hotel really cared.

"Noisy hotel"

too noisy to sleep, change to another room, seems a little bit better, still noisy for the corridor air conditional. carpet is very old and not smooth at all. The receptionist is good, but the other employer looks unsympathy and not willing to help you with the luggage or help you move the cart.

"Dog Friendly"

We have stayed at this hotel quite a few times over the last few months. The staff is always friendly and our dog has always been welcomed as soon as we enter the hotel. Great breakfast - easy to get in and out of the city. Beds and baths have always been clean. This is a dog friendly hotel but we have never had a room that smelled like a dog. All that and the price is great!

"Very nice hotel"

I stayed at this hotel for a seminar I attended recently. It was very nice. The fitness area was bigger than most hotels where I've stayed but equipment was dated and broken down. I brought my own equipment so it wasn't much of a concern for me. There was a decent restaurant and a nice bar with food as well and a pool table. The conference rooms were nice, slightly warm, but nice. And the rooms were nice also. It wasn't a 5 star hotel but it was definitely suitable for the purpose for my visit. I would definitely stay there again.

Best Western Plus Hillside provided great service and quality at a great price! The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the pizza from the lounge was excellent as well. The room was clean and comfortable. Would stay again for sure!

Overall everything was ok.....the room was clean but it's outdated, has that old hotel smell.....the front staff was always helpful....the bar/grill was not that impressive, the people working were very very unfriendly.

Very reasonable compared to other motels nearby. The bed was very comfortable, very clean room, easy check in and out. Helpful staff. The room was very quiet. I appreciate having a smoking room if one chooses.

I stay at this Hotel every time I come to Chicago and that is just about every week for a week at a time and all of the staff are GREAT and go out of their was to help in anyway they can If Breakfast was put out a little earlier that would be great.

This is a nice place. It's not fancy and is an older hotel, but it is a nice quite place. The staff are friendly and courteous. The restaurant down stairs had a decent breakfast and a pretty good dinner. The exercise room is pretty nice. The equipment could stand to be upgraded though. You can run outside down near the high school and feel safe. I found a route past the school, over the hill past Target that covers about 4.5 miles. All in all a nice place to Stay.

Nice enough place to get some much needed rest. Very nice buffet breakfast in attached restaurant. Staff was pleasant and the rooms were clean and tidy. I would recommend this place for a family or for business.

We were in town on business. The room was good and we had everything we needed. The second night we were there the power went out. This however was the fault of the 70 mile an hour wind and not the hotel. They did everything they could to help. It came back on in about 5 hours so we were good.

"Great Value for the price"

Not my most favorite travel location but the price is right for what this location offers, including an excellent breakfast buffet. Other options nearby are far more pricey and really don't offer much more. I'd love to see the old bedspreads get replaced - this would be a big image boost for this Hotel. Front desk and restaurant staff are great but the bar/lounge staff could afford to be a little more cheerful and attentive. Rooms are fairly large. Lighting could be better for working at the desk.

A lot of guests like our breakfast buffet as did you. Chicagoland is an expensive place to live and to visit. As you point out, our price is a great alternative to downtown hotels. The overall quality of the hotel was good and the rooms were adequate. The beds were excellent. The only downsided was that the refrigerator in the room was extremely noisy. I don't think the housekeeping staff are honest; I left behind items that I llater call for and was told they were not there. Anyone working the front desk should be properly attired as that sets the tone of "first impression" of professionalism.

Nothing spectacular just clean and quiet,very relaxing , fresh smelling pillows,carpet looked clean non smoking room was great didn't have to smell smoke,heat was great...overall will try again..great job staff.

Overall, a good value for the money. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Restaurant offerings are good. Desk personnel are nice but the bar staff is not very attentive or friendly which drags down the overall appreciation of this location. Rooms are generally clean but those old bedspreads? Gotta wonder about them! I take them off the bed immediately withy as little contact as possible. You might as well too since they don't fit properly and will end up on the floor anyway. I travel a lot and can live with this location's shortfalls for the price charged. If they would address the problems noted, I would rate them as 4+ out of 5

The room was very clean and nice., I had a problem with internet connection. Restaurant was Delicious!! The Best Western signature pizza was the most delicious I've ever had. Enjoy your stay in chicago, 30 minutes south of o'hare airport.

Nothing fancy about the rooms but the restaurant is nice. The staff was very accommodating and cleaning staff did a great job. The hotel was easy to get in and out of with easy access to the highway. The workout room was not good. The treadmills were terrible. With every step the treadmill would stop and the weight equipment was old and falling apart. Just an average hotel but wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

"More than you can expect for that price"

The hotel was perfect for our trip. The rooms and the bathrooms are very clean. The beds are comfortable. The area is safe. The customer service was awesome, the staff was very kind. It has free parking (unlike most hotels in Chicago) and you can find a lot of empty spots. The wi-fi is free and works perfect. The breakfast is good. By car, in 20 minutes you can arrive to Chicago downtown. You can drink a few beers inside the hotel in a nice bar. In a conference room there was an awesome sale of vinyl used. This hotel is 100% recommended.

The hotel was confusing to get to, plus we were in the middle of an ice storm, which made it more difficult. Just before checking out, we realized that something must have been leaking from the heater because the floor felt damp underneath and we could feel cool air.

Really easy access to the freeway. We were visiting family in Oak Park, which has very limited room options, and we found getting to and from Oak Park really simple. We wanted to change our reservation to arrive a day earlier and leave a day earlier and they were very accommodating. Bed was excellent and our dog got her first ride in an elevator and thought the little moving rooms was quite interesting! We will stay again when in Oak Park.

I stayed at this hotel for business. As I always use Best Western and this was listed as a "Plus" hotel, I certainly expected better. The desk manager at check in would not accept an electronic company card that I had stored on my phone and I had to use my personal card to pay. The manager said that "I have to have a card to swipe" - what year is this? When I got to my room, I noticed that the paint in the bathroom was peeling in many places. In addition, the vanity was so low that i had to bend over to reach the sink. This place needs some renovation- looks like 1980s decor and fixtures... I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

My reason for choosing this hotel was for the free parking. their reputation as well as easy access to the freeway. The room was comfortable and clean. We had stayed at a hotel across the way from rush memorial and Best western beat that stay by a mile from the service and friendliness of staff reliable internet service.

I found this hotel to be comfortable and clean - the room temperature was perfect, the room was basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely decor, TV and a decent sized fridge - there was a microwave and coffee/tea making faciliities. I am only commenting on the room as I did not have breakfast there. I would definitely stay here again.

"Moderate hotel, OKAY but nothing special"

The hotel is OK if you stay over for 1 or 2 nights. We stayed over during our first 2 days of the Route 66 trip we did in the Summer of 2015. Hotel is a bit old fashioned, offers free parking as well as possibilities to have dinner. Additionally, there is a bar in the hotel for some drinks during night. Location is quite far from the city center and halfway from O'Hare Int'l Airport to Chicago City Centre. Overall, average hotel which is OK for the money.

Stayed at this location several times in the past. it always a good experience. The location has a Bar and restaurant that has good breakfast buffet and it is convenient to area shopping and downtown Chicago. I would stay there again.

A nice hotel and easy to get to from O'Hare airport. Plenty of parking spaces. The free WiFi is stable and gives decent speed. The lounge/restuarant located in the hotell gives very good value for the money.

"Nothing special at all about this hotel"

Well the hotel was ok i guess but has nothing special to it. Room was very basic and not great looking. It was clean and had the basic amenities. Check in took forever. I had to wait 15min at the counter before someone showed up. It's located in a questionnable neighborhood. It's far from the city centre and far from the hotel. So not very well located. It's not cheap either so next time for a little extra i'd rather stay downtown. Personnel was ok but didn't make the stay more enjoyable. Just a ok hotel

Thanks for writing a review. We have no idea what you mean by calling our location a questionable neighborhood. The hotel is old, but we try to keep it well-cleaned. In good traffic, we are a twenty minute drive into the city. And our shuttle will take guests to a nearby train station for easy access to downtown.

Overall the motel was clean and the staff was good. It is really close to a highway and the sound carried, but you get used to the noise. I would recommend staying and I would stay again. The value is excellent.

First time at this former Holiday Inn location and i loved the service, room, bar area and restaurant. Everything was as I requested and in good proximity to Midway Airport as well as O'Hare. The bar had pretty good food, cold beer and Thursday Night Football. The breakfast buffet was only $6.00 with my BW status and very enjoyable as well. I woudl definitely recommend this location and stay here again. The fornt desk agent was even kind enough to get me a bottle of water and i got 250 additional BW points instead of a goody bag. Nice touch Hillside!

"fine for a night"

Stayed here as I had a conference at a nearby hotel. Chose this hotel due to a very reasonable price I found and based on reviews thought it would be okay as I only needed to stay for a night. Unfortunately our room was right across from the ice machine so it wasn't the quietest spot. However, the room was clean. Didn't have the most restful night as it seemed as if the fan turned off and the room became stuffy. We tried dinner (soup and salad) at the restaurant, everything was fine and nothing to rave about. Although the server did disappear for awhile and I noticed others were getting a little anxious because they were needing more drinks. Overall, I wouldn't stay here beyond one night due to the poor sleeping quality and it's limited access to stores and dining options within walking distance.

It's value for money the personnel was very kind friendly and efficient. The free drive to the forest park station very helpfull. The Hotel is very clean and cosy. The only problem is the bad wifi. I wish for the best..... Keep up the good work

Very nice hotel. Clean room and helpful staff. No complimentary breakfast the they offer $6 all you can eat in their restaurant. Good value and excellent service, much better than any complimentary breakfast.

Don't let the award plaques overimpress you about this very average property. I'm skipping this one next time for more amenities at lesser costs from the competitors. Good for a pinch. Not an easy location to find without a GPS.

We were looking for a room for 1 night while in the process of moving. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean, but the view was of the roof. My son used the exercise room and loved it. It was quiet and we had a good sleep. Breakfast was OK, but not what we expected. Food was cold, and they were out of a lot of items. The coffee was the best part of breakfast. We would not do the breakfast again.

Special mention for very helpful receptionist Pramrod. Chicago city centre is a very expensive place to stay and add to that 60 dollars a night to park.so we moved out of downtown and found Chicago Hillside very reasonable price,good rooms and FREE parking along with an all you can eat breakfast for 6 dollars.The hotel also run a free shuttle to the railway station and pick up (you may have to wait awhile in the evening) All in all a really good place to stay.

"Rude staff"

First of all, I never write reviews. Best Western will never get another dollar from me. The lady working the front desk in the early evening was great. However, at night when I called to get picked up from dinner, it was a different lady working who was extremely rude over the phone. After an hour and half of waiting I called a second time, and she was agitated and hung up the phone. When I arrived back at the hotel, and addressed my feelings on her customer service skills, she became very defensive. Spend your money elsewhere. I don't know much about their management there, but after placing a call and leaving a message, there was no returned phone call. Doesn't surprise me.

The hotel needed better shuttle services, When you wanted to go someplace on time you late. Need more drivers, and more shuttles. The rooms were clean enjoyed the appearances of the room. When you called the front desk, it took them a long time to answer the phone. Sometimes it took them a long time to get pick up.

Thank you for writing a review. Your main theme was our shuttle. Respectfully, the shuttle is a courtesy, a perk of the hotel, not something guaranteed. Traffic is most responsible for the timing of the shuttle runs. If a guest needs absolute certainty regarding transportation, other arrangements should be made.
