After arriving to see that carpets throughout were stained and smelled, I found ants in my room including the bed and counter top. There were hairs on the shower walls and on the curtain (which also did not look clean), and to top it off, I was woken up at 4:30AM by a false fire alarm. The hotel manager did not handle the situation well.

We booked our room on the BEST WESTERN WEBSITE well in advance. Upon arrival we were told our reservation was cancelled and we'd have to pay a higher rate. She said since we'd booked through a third party website (again, their own company's website?) we would have to call BW customer service ourselves to sort out the problem. After waiting on hold, BW customer service couldn't understand why our room was cancelled. They called the hotel directly to confirm our rate. However, the desk agent demanded they fax proof. We then had to stand there while she waited for the fax to arrive. She told us she couldn't check us in until she received it. It took almost an hour to check into the hotel. We were polite and said we understood that she didn't cause the problem. However, she did absolutely nothing to help us either. It was a stressful experience. We were tired and had an extremely early flight the next morning. It was fortunate that they had an extra room and we didn't have to scramble at the last minute to find another hotel with park-and-fly. The room itself was adequate. However, we had more stress and an extended wait again the next morning. We'd reserved the shuttle ahead of time, but had to wait 30 minutes for two other groups who'd booked the shuttle at a later time. We understand the hotel wants to be efficient, but wish they'd have given us a later time or split the difference and asked the other group to show up 15 minutes earlier. As it turned out, one of the groups was late so we had to wait 45 minutes. The shuttle was a run-down minivan. There wasn't room for all the suitcases in the back and with all the people and luggage, we were packed in like sardines. When we called the shuttle upon our return to Chicago, we were told that they'd just been to the airport to pick someone up 15 minutes earlier and we were the only 2 waiting for the shuttle. We've not stayed in a BW for many years and it will be many more years until we stay at one again. I'd give them a ZERO out of 5 stars for customer service if I could.

Stayed here for one night after arriving at O'Hare in the evening before starting Route 66 the next day. The 'Airport Shuttle' they advertised was a taxi that I had to call from the airport after getting the number off the hotel - took a while to arrive too. The shuttle back, in the morning was a minibus and was fine. The staff were pleasant enough and the room ok with a comfortable bed. Lots of coming and going on the corridors, through the night so quite noisy. Overall decor was rather worn and needed an update. Breakfast was okay with waffle maker and usual juices, yoghurts and pastries. Area not great outside. The hotel did the job we needed but wouldn't go back there unless modernised. Two and a half stars really.

I booked 1 room through Hotels.com. My credit card bill showed charges for 2 rooms. When I called the hotel, they said that Hotels.com reserved 2 rooms (for the same night) and that I was a "no show" for the 2nd room. How could I be a no show? I was there - the desk attendant should have said "You have 2 reservations for tonight. Do you want to check in to your 2nd reservation as well?" Then I could have said, "Oh, I shouldn't have 2 reservations; that's a mistake by Hotels.com. Please cancel the 2nd reservation." Instead, the hotel said nothing at check-in, then they later refused to refund the charge, claimed that it was the fault of Hotels.com, and refused to do anything else to resolve the situation.

Pros: Availability when other O'Hare properties are booked, free shuttle to/from O'Hare. Decent bed. Friendly service. Cons: Worn, dated and not as clean as it could be. Shuttle is beat up and grungy.

My kids and I stayed here before our flight to Cancun. Room was clean, and staff was polite. The price was right, and would return in the future. It was our second stay here. Shuttle was prompt leaving, upon pick up the wait was a little long.. but that's to be expected in Chicago. We had McDonald's while we waited, so all worked out ok!

Breakfast was good, except for old, dried out tangerines. Our room was very cold when we checked in, heat was off. Very expensive staying two nights! $103. per nite. We had to wait almost an hour for a shuttle from airport/amtrak back to the hotel from downtown chicago

I saw all the great reviews and thought Id like to stay at a smaller place then the big high rises we usually stay at..I like smaller business to deal with. We check in and after we are all said in done the clerk says I now need your keys!!Excuse me what ???Yes she wanted me to leave my keys while we are out of the country in case she needs to move my car!!What a joke Ive never heard of this and dont ever plan on leaving my keys to anyone.!I told her I was going to cancel and she said fine...then she couldnt cancel it due to timeline and I told her Id call corporate and let them know whats going on here..She finally changed her bad attuite and let us keep our keys but we had to sign a waver...wow..rooms were fine we were just alittle upset over the problem...The shuttle driver was the housekeeper the van was wrecked and dirty but got us there on time which was the most important.On our return home we called for a ride took quite awhile and finally they called us a cab...rude driver who was tired...and I found a huge door ding from parking lot..wish this would have worked out I was excited to be away from the rat race of the airport..

It is a company policy to take the guests key when they are doing the park n fly package.The reason we do that is because your car will be on our parking lot for a extended period and in case the fire department is called for any reason and your car has to be moved we would have access to it. We have a 24 hour shuttle service and have a contact with a taxi company that we use as our back up shuttle if ours is not available. We hope to see you again.

This was a nice hotel for an overnight stay. We really appreciated the fact that we could leave our car there at no extra charge while we flew out on vacation. They also took us to the airport and picked us up when we got back.

We stayed just overnight before a trip out of O'Hare. Room was mediocre and shuttle to the airport was a very dirty minivan. Shuttle was included in the stay and parking was free not when you are staying there. Misleading from what we were told on the phone. Only plus was friendly front desk staff.

Great place to stay. Clean rooms, great breakfast, fast internet. The location is slightly awkward to enter from different directions, but the amenities themselves are excellent. I would gladly stay here again if needed.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Our ride to the airport was a hassle. We scheduled it for 9 people. Told we would have to do it in 2 groups and have one leave 1/2 hour earlier. In the morning they did not have transportation for us. They ended up calling a cab and we went at about the same time. Coming back we were told to call when we landed. It took 1 1/2 hours to get 6 of us back. 3 of us paid for our own taxi or we would have wasted another 1/2 hour. We needed to travel 3 more hours that night. They sent 1 taxi to make 3 round trips. Would not use them again

If you are a bigger party such as 9 people and a large amount of luggage's we have a contract with a taxi company that we use as back up shuttle so we can accommodate our guests because we don't want them to face longer wait times at the airport.

Check your security tapes for floors 2/3, and then ask your housekeeping department what they're thinking slamming a vacuum cleaner against peoples doors while doing the hallway at 623am. I guess we should be thankful that you're attempting to be proactive about things- but the staff wasn't overly friendly either. Read a bunch of other reviews about this property and that seems to be the common denominator here.... You won't be getting my business again, at this point.

We stayed here for an extended (2 week+) Park and Fly. Dropped the car off, took the airport shuttle, and stayed overnight on the return trip. It fit the bill very well for us. No complaints on the room, big enough, clean enough, nice enough. The breakfast was excellent! Overall, the service was very good and staff accommodating. Pool is a bit dated, but worked just fine for me (no zero depth for the kids, FYI.) Only real complaint was that they didn't have any way of jump starting my dead batter;, as I told them, a $50 jump box from Harbor Freight is a must for any Park and Fly!. Otherwise, was well-satisfied and would use them again when flying out of O'Hare.

I have stayed at Best Western Hotels all over the world and I can honestly say that this is the worst that I have experienced. The check-in was fine but it went downhill from there. The back door was unsecured and once we had a key, we had to have it reset twice. The Coke machine dispensed warm soda, the pool was out of order, and the parking lot showed signs of people's cars being broken into. When I was resetting the card for the second time, the attitude I got from the front desk was unacceptable. I don't know if everyone was in a poor mood and the hotel was in bad shape because of the winter season or not. What I know is that, as a loyal Best Western customer, I will stay somewhere else when I am in Des Plaines again. That's not good for Best Western.

Every time I visit Chicago I will stay at this hotel. To me feels like home. I feel welcome, I feel safe. I could go out for a walk and talk to people like I knew them...very friendly. Staff at the hotel always ask me how was my wall and if I have any questions or concerns that they could help me out with.

If you like to check in late at night and find black hairs all over your freshly placed wash clothes and towels, be their guest! And make sure you like buentry food for breakfast... Besides the cleanliness and hot food, after speaking with them over 5 times, they still wouldn't get my bill correct.

I am from Texas and was on business to Des Plaines, IL. I stayed at this hotel because of location. Big Mistake. The hotel was dirty, room dated, bedding dingy, staff unresponsive and the towels were the worst I have ever seen. I understand this is not a high end hotel, but I have stayed at nice BW.. If in the area, find somewhere else to stay..

Room Size - Stayed in a standard double bed room. Decently big and spacious. . Room Amenities - All basic amenities are available in the room including TV, Fridgle, Iron, Bath tub, Free WiFi, Heating control, etc. . Hotel Amenities - Heated pool, dedicated parking, basic breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, bread, waffles, juices, cornflakes, etc.). They let us check in early in the morning for a fees of 25$ which was good. . Staff Behaviour - Very professional and courteous behaviour. Exception was one of their new reception staff, for whom, the senior staff apologised later. . Location - Located in the peaceful suburd of Des Plaines. It is 15 mins from Airport. Has a lot of eating options nearby. However, connectivity to the downtown is an issue. One need to take a bus and then change a couple of trains which can take anywhere between a hour & a half to 2 hours to reach downtown.

We needed to call to be picked up as the shuttle is on demand. The hotel is exactly 15 minutes from Ohare. This was perfect for us, especially because we arrived at 11:53pm. The driver was kind, friendly and very helpful. We were hungry and on our way to the hotel knowing most places would be closing, she offered to stop so we could get something! What a truly nice offer. Upon arriving we were met with a smile and an uncomplicated check in. Downstairs lobby seemed basic but neat. The hotel smelled good. Our room was very clean, smelled fresh too. The bed was comfortable and firm. Room was spacious too! Some noises could be heard but nothing loud or disturbing. In the morning at 6am, a shuttle was arranged and prompt. The breakfast bar was opened for something quick...pretty good selection too! Coffee was awesome! Again we were back at Ohare in 15 min. Excellent service. Excellent overnight stay!

Desk clerk and manager were very helpful, friendly, and professional. Shuttle to/from O'Hare was reliable and efficient. Breakfast selections were very good. We booked through a park/sleep/fly website, parking 7 days and staying the night when we returned. This made for a very comfortable beginning and ending of the trip.

I stayed at this hotel on October 26, 2017 and was pleased at the customer service I received! My flight was delayed out of Tel Aviv and so I missed my connection in Toronto and was late coming into Chicago at around 10 pm. I had stayed at Best Western before flying out so I called for pick up and was extremely impressed with the quick pick up and even more impressed with the reception I received by the front desk who had upgraded my room and made sure to take care of my every need! If you are flying out of Ohare airport consider this hotel!

We celebrated my daughters bday at this location.Very friendly and helpful staff.We had cake by the pool area which was nice and not crowded with people because it is a smaller property.There is many walking restaurants we chose a Cuban restaurant next door.Definitely good price and clean hotel.

I never write reviews but I felt compelled to do so on this occasion. My husband and I are in the process of building condos which require many trips back and forth to Chicago. I booked a room at this hotel around 1 PM. I got home at 3 PM and my husband informed me he had chest pains and we needed to cancel until later further notice. After getting my husband to the appropriate medical attention, I called the hotel to try to cancel and get a "refund".... They said they had a 24 hour policy and there were no exceptions. (I booked 2 hours earlier???) I called priceline, whom we booked through, and they tried to negotiate on our behalf, but were also told no. I will be calling priceline again to ask for a credit, but find this heartless display of humanity appalling and will never book with this hotel again and potentially not through priceline.... Not only did the "owner" hang up on me, he showed no compassion at all, and was more concerned about $100 than client satisfaction or my husband. Apparently it was "assumed" I was a lier? This was an emergency situation, not a "change" of plans..... AND let's face it. If the room was available at 1 PM there was no risk of "loss of income within 2 hours." Sick to my stomach.... all I can say......disgusted.... Guess, I now know why Best Westerns are NOT on my corporate travel list.

"So Kind and Accommodating"

Our flight into Chicago was delayed for four hours, causing us to check in at 4 a.m. Exactly as advertised, the hotel sent a shuttle to the airport to pick us up at that ungodly hours. They granted us late checkout (noon). Not surprisingly, we slept right through the breakfast supplied by the hotel, but they told us of two restaurants within walking distance where we could get breakfast and even though we were checked out, not only allowed us to store our luggage there while we went to breakfast, but upon our return, had their shuttle take us to the car rental agency at the airport. They accommodated us so kindly every step of the way.

The BW Des Plaines is not fancy from the outside and the lobby and hallways are not very modern, but the rooms are very clean and neat and well maintained. Air conditioner was good; TV lots of channels. Bathroom clean, with basic amenities. Pool not open when we stayed, which was OK, cuz we didn't want to use. They provided helpful airport shuttle (although the vehicle used was somewhat battered and not too clean) with airport about 15 minutes away. While many reviewers have raved about the breakfast, we were actually somewhat disappointed as the morning we were there, they didn't provide any meat (sausage or bacon) with the breakfast. This was one of the reasons we selected the hotel and therefore a little bummed out when not offered. We learned that they vary their breakfast menu and don't provide meat everyday. :-( Staff very helpful. George was particularly helpful and friendly. Overall, a good place to stay though.

We stayed here for a family reunion and we were very satisfied.Very pleasant staff and the rooms were very clean.The area was good and near many restaurants where we ate lunch.We will definitely be back.

Very friendly, professional staff. Room was very clean, and like the fact that the windows open for fresh air. Plenty of free parking available which is not common for hotels close to O'Hare Aiport. They also offer a local shuttle service.

I love to go to this property to use the inside pool they have. It is quiet and not a lot of pool or crowd. The breakfast and the room has drastically improved because I have been coming here regularly two years now.

We were happy with the breakfast, service at the front desk, clean room and bathroom was clean. A restaurant was next door from other meals. Plenty of food there. The only negative was hearing the phone conversation outside of the room before 6:30 a.m. The walls are not very thick.

We had two rooms and both rooms were very very clean! All of staff were very friendly. Helpful!! Curtious Breakfast was very enjoyable the lady that worked there was so... friendly helpful with kids! Pool was very comfortable not to cold not to bleach beds comfy rooms comfy didn't have 2 room suite but did put us close together

The hotel is in need of sprucing up the rooms, updating the decor, fixing little issues associated with each room (ceiling stains, door deadbolt not working, new carpet, better towels, etc.). It appears some of the necessary renovations are underway, however, more could be done faster.

Flight canceled. Needed hotel. Sketchy, unclean. Slept with chair against the door and took me forever to get to sleep because I was regretting my decision but couldn't go anywhere else. Stained sheets, cigarette ashes in sheets, old furnishings. Then their "airport shuttle" was a grimy, dirty mini van. One good thing - the staff were very nice.

The location of this hotel is great, just a few minutes from O'Hare airport. Located in mainly a residential area,you are walking distance to several restaurants and neighborhood shops. The room and the hotel were very clean. Free breakfast in the morning was better than some others I've experienced, good selection. Free parking behind hotel but is poorly lit and rather secluded. Although I personally felt safe it kind of gave me a "Criminal Minds" type feeling that a stalker could easily be undetected. I would think a lone woman might not feel comfortable parking back there if arriving after dark. Overall a good value for your dollar.

This hotel is in a nice location close to airport.I spend my honeymoon there.We enjoyed the Jacuzzi room.Super clean rooms and nice staff.I do plan on coming back because rivers casino is near by and it's a convenient hotel not too expensive.

I stayed here few times with my husband and daughter and they have made huge improvements.The breakfast is hot with many varieties,all the room furniture and carpets are brand new.Whenever we want to use the pool and have some family time we go there.We also used their Jacuzzi rooms before and they are so relaxing.

This hotel had all we needed-a pool,internet, parking and breakfast. we had a conformable stay and had someone with us who didnt mind driving into downtown on the one day we could tour(before a concert we attended at United Center)

I booked this location due to its proximity to the air port, their extended parking allowance, and price. I was out of the country for 15 days and most places only allow 10 days of parking with the stay. This place allowed 14 and let me pay one extra night. When I arrived to leave my car their van driver was out sick but they hired and paid for a taxi for me. When I returned their van driver arrived within 15-20 minutes. It was a small white minivan so initially I overlooked him upon his arrival thinking he would be one of the larger shuttle buses, but he had my cell phone and called me and we were able to connect. I checked in and was told my room was being upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi tub, free of charge. What a wonderful surprise after flying for 10 hours. My room was huge and quite comfortable. I went out to my car that had been sitting for two weeks to see the battery needed to be jumped. Luckily I carry the cables so the hotel driver came back to lend me a hand which was fantastic. I tipped him but it saved me a bit of money in calling a professional. My bath and sleep was quite comfortable. In the morning I went down promptly at 6:30 to take advantage of the free breakfast which included waffles, strange eggs but good enough, cereals, yogurts, fruits, cakes, muffins, coffee, tea, milk, juices etc. I filled up and checked out so I could get my long drive home started early. I am happy to recommend anyone to stay here and will be back again.

Gina & I stayed at the beginning & end of our recent vacation on a park/sleep/fly deal. It's a nice enough motel, not deluxe but perfectly adequate for a night's sleep. It's in a quiet location & a decent neighborhood near O'Hare International Airport (ORD). The room was clean & well-stocked, with a comfortable king-size bed. Parking is limited, we lucked out & were able to park in one of the spaces underneath the building, affording some overhead cover. We didn't get the breakfast they offer as we had an early flight & had to leave for the airport before they started serving. There are microwaves & refrigerators in the rooms, we brought some breakfast sandwiches with us & put them in there. I recommend doing likewise if you have an early flight. We also missed the breakfast the day after we returned as we slept in later, but there is a family restaurant called the Silver Stallion a couple doors down that was pretty good, also a Burger King & a Chicago-style red hot place across the street. The shuttle service was prompt, getting us to the airport in plenty of time. On our return there were apparently some miscommunications delaying pick-up, but we did finally connect. Overall a reasonable value. I would park-sleep-fly here again.

This was the designated hotel for my former employer. It wasn't my favorite place to stay at, The hot breakfast items usually made me sick so I usually only ate cereal, the elevator seems to be messed up, No matter what room I stayed in I always heard traffic on Lee St, I never really had a positive experience with the staff, My employer would arrange a shuttle to take us to work and that never seemed to be on the same page. The front is always hard to get in & out in with such a limited turn around. I would not stay here if I ever come to town.

This BW may appear unpretentious on the outside - the parking lot is in the back and the hotel appears smaller from the front. The hotel itself was great - we stay at a lot of BW hotels and once again we were pleased with the overall quality of the hotel. The bed was comfy, the room was clean and well-appointed. The breakfast was typical for BW - some hot items, make-your-own waffle, and an assortment of usual breakfast items. There's plenty of choice to get the day started and not have to eat out for breakfast. Most of all the staff here is wonderful. Our room was nice and clean, bedding was fresh and comfortable, the concierge at the front was pleasant and professional. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

I chose the hotel after recommendation also because of the FREE Shuttle Bus for arrival & departure from Ohare Airport The Hotel staff were extremely helpful. The Italian Shuttle Bus driver was especially polite & helpful. I can't wait to stay again.

Parking could be a problem. Going to the airport was fine,but coming back to the hotel, the hotel might have you a call a taxi that they did pay for.The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. Would probably stay here again and use the park and stay option.

Good bed to sleep in. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. For the money it is well located for my purposes and met my needs. I was woken at 3:30AM by the trash man emptying the bin at the back of the hotel. Stay up front on Friday.

First we get there and tell us our room is still occupied by a lady that was at a class across the street and she wouldn't be back until after 6:00. They claimed that they couldn't just grab her stuff. So they told us when we got back from our concert that we could switch rooms. So we go to our concert and come back, the lady who had been working the front desk failed to tell the employee who took over for the night our situation. So my husband explained and the lady said well you can have the room, there shouldn't be anyone in there anymore. How do you not know? We were afraid we were going to barge in on someone sleeping because it was after midnight at this point. So we go up to the correct room we were supposed to have from the beginning. The hallway smelled like marijuana. The room from first glance it was nice and what we paid for. Nice and clean, however we woke up the next morning to shower and all of the shampoo and conditioner containers were empty. This hotel left us pretty disappointed. To get there and have the issues right off the bat like that was unbelievable. We even booked on the best western website directly and still had issues. We won't be returning!

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. The room was nicely sized for the king bed. Had a nice desk, fridge & micro. Sheets & towels appeared clean, the rest needed a good thorough cleaning from the carpet to the walls all the way to the front desk. The back stairwell smelled like trash every day. There was a broken bottle at the entrance Sunday night, it was still there Tuesday night. I sat in the desk chair & leaned back almost tipping over in the broken chair. I fired up the iron, made it through 3 shirts before water started dumping all over my pants. I went to make a cup of coffee & the coffee pot didn't work. Luckily the front lounge had some. There was a pet black ant that visited me every night when I brushed my teeth. I left a note about the chair & iron and they replaced them, I left another note on my final morning for the coffee pot, so I imagine it was replaced. Overall it wasn't all that bad, just happened to get all the issues no one said anything about. Sleep well my TA friends:-)

This was a clean hotel, with mini fridge & microwave. The parking at this hotel was very tight though, very small parking lot. Hard to find parking. Shuttle was on time leaving, coming home we had to call a taxi. The hotel paid for it. It's a cheap place for Ohare travel.

We stayed one night using the stay and fly option. There wasn't a "true" parking space available and cars were parked anywhere that would fit a car. We along with others parked our car along a curb on the narrow driveway which led back to the parking lot that was full. We left our keys as instructed and were told they would move our car into a parking space when one became available. Not acceptable!!! If I pay to stay at your property then I should have a valid parking space.

We have been running 100% occupancy which can be challenging sometimes since we are only a 50 room hotel.We always take the guests car keys to ensure once the parking cleared up in case of over capacity to move it the next day into a spot if you are doing the park n fly program and wont be able to move it yourself. We also have a contract with a restaurant parking next door in case we run out of space our guests can park their for no charge overnight. Used this park and fly hotel for first night stay, a week of parking, and a last night stay for a vacation trip. Impressed with day and night desk clerks, very friendly and efficient. The hotel was busy when we checked in. Parking lot was full, but they have a satellite lot that can be used. You leave your keys and we were informed they will move your car, if necessary. We lucked out and a space was open when we returned from dinner so we didn't actually test that arrangement. Our room, 224, was spacious and clean. Shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in mounted containers. Had excellent internet wifi and television service. Room had an alarm clock and the hotel does wake up calls. We had an early flight and scheduled a shuttle for 5:30 am. Driver was on time. We were the only ones on the van. The hotel provides a "To Go" breakfast of fruit and muffins. Nice touch for early departures. Our return flight was late. It was about 1:00 am when we called for a pickup at the airport. The desk clerk gave me a number for a cab company, Community Cab. The cab company gave us ETA of 12 to 15 minutes. The van arrived in 14 minutes and we had a pleasant ride with an engaging driver. Hotel picked up the ride cost. We were checked in quickly and coincidently got the same room, 224. We had a late morning and ran into two disappointments. I found that the body wash container was empty, after I was in the shower (note to self: check status prior to stepping in the shower in the future). We got to the breakfast area about 0930, it closes at 1000. The eggs were rather dry, the potatoes that were left were inedible. But, there were other choices that worked and the coffee was good. This hotel is located in an area that has several good choices for dining. Overall, I believe this was a good value and would stay again, if the situation arises.

Like most people, when I have to catch a very early flight (or am returning from a late one), I'm often grouchy and just want everything to be easy and stress-free. The staff at the Best Western Des Plaines couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly, which really improved my whole travel experience from beginning to end. Though the lobby and halls could use an upgrade (they had sort of a lived-in look), the hotel room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I was very impressed with all personnel, from the desk clerk to the housekeepers to the shuttle drivers, and I will most definitely stay here again.

Staff was very helpful.The room was cleaner and updated. The lobby was in need of a cleaning. We were using the place to park our car while we caught a flight to Cal. The let us grab a cup of coffee and something to eat before we left even though it was before breakfast time.

Unfortunately, everything was very good till check out. I was in a hurry to depart, but there was no one at the front desk. I rang the bell but after 2 minutes, no one showed up. I inquired with a service employee and he said he would get someone. After a minute or so, no one so I rang the bell again. Still no one. After about 5 minutes total, the front desk person showed up to check us out. Very, very unusual and frustrating.

My daughter and I had a weekend getaway for the first time and we were not familiar with Chicago. Jackson was very nice to meet at breakfast. He asked us what we would like the following morning for breakfast and the following morning there was sausage out at our request. He also helped us figure out how to use the Uber and Lyft car services including figuring out how to use the promo code for the discount. It really was a great trip. I would stay again!

I missed my connection in Chicago and the next plane wasn't until early morning the next day. It was late and I didn't want to sleep at the airport as I had just spent 15+ hours on the airplane from Shanghai to Chicago due to weather and delays. Best Western in Des Plaines was an ideal choice to overnight since they had a 24-hour shuttle that could take me back to the airport at 3:00 am. Kudos to such a great staff.

"A Quiet Place to Sleep"

I was attending a dinner function nearby, and I didn't want to drive back home for the over an hour trip. I checked in quickly in the afternoon and went up to my room to change for the dinner. The room was clean, and had a medium sized refrigerator, coffee pot, free wi-fi and a great flat screened TV. After I returned after 11:30pm, I slept peacefully and woke up the next morning and made myself a cup of coffee. The room and hotel certainly did not disappoint. Now this is a hotel, with rooms inside, and an elevator. It has an exercise room and a pool. It's not a three star hotel, but it certainly met my needs for a place to sleep.

I come here for work regularly. The hotel staff is exceptionally helpful, friendly and extremely courteous. I wish all of the Best Western hotels were at this standard of customer service. This is by far one of the best hotels that i stay at and should be treated as model as to how a hotel should be operated. I stay here quite often. The hotel staff is very nice and breakfast is great. nice little workout room, and very nice pool. The hotel is in a great location with plenty to eat that's within walking distance. They also offer a hotel shuttle to get to the airport at no cost to you. We stayed here for one night on an overnight layover. It was very clean and comfortable. The only minor complaints are that the eggs weren't that great at breakfast and there was not half & half for the coffee, and we also felt the instructions for where to find the shuttle at the airport were kind of confusing. But overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend staying here.

I was in town for a trade show, and having enough points for a free room, it seemed like a no brainer. The lobby is fairly OK. Nothing special. The breakfast area looks interesting, in a good way. I will not be sure until tomorrow morning. There are 3 floors with an elevator. There is also a long (50') pool that appears very clean, and of course I forgot my bathing suit. #$%%[email protected]#. The room was fairly decent in size. Probably a little roomier than the average. From what I can tell, there are no real issues. Plenty of plug ins in the room which is important these days. Gotta plug in the two phones, pad, and disco ball. As far as noise, I won't be certain until the wee hours of the morning. At this moment, the mini fridge seems to making its share of racket. Also, there is a auto detailing (or something) across the alley with the occasional air compressor running. I figure that will stop pretty early. At least it is not by a freeway, but there is city traffic, which should also peter out with the passage of time. There is no need to worry about the pressure in the shower knocking you over. They have considered the safety aspects of the shower, and it safely comes out at a fast dribble, but not so fast as to cause injury. There are a number of eating establishments within just a couple of minute walk. One that I can recommend is the Silver Stallion, but there are others. The majority of which are taco oriented. I would probably have given this facility a rating of three and a half to three and three quarters, but that is not allowed, hence the three star.

My wife and I just stayed the one night at the Best Western Des Plaines Inn following traveling to Chicago. The rooms were adequate and the staff were very pleasant. The shuttle bus was out of service when we arrived but one phone call and the hotel booked us a taxi direct from the airport and paid the bill without problem. All in all a good stay with comfortable bed and a reasonable breakfast.

First things first, the free continental breakfast was great considering me and my friends are broke college kids on a breakaway road trip, and also considering Chicago isn't the cheapest of places. However, that's probably the only good to come out of it. To begin with, the check-in process was obnoxious as the hotel clerk didn't recgonize my reservation at first (I booked through hotwire). Show him the reciept and was able to give me a room, only after giving a fee for having 4 guests, which was already included in the hotwire payment. Then, charge me twice and so I had to come down and speak with him again and not only did he not accept my request for a refund, he belittled me for being a "kid". At that point I was 20, and my friend who was with me was 21 so perfectly able to make the reservation. After the next two days of talking to management, they assured me the second charge would be corrected in the upcoming business days. It never did. It wasn't until months later (maybe up to 4 months?) and repeated calls going nowhere. Every time I called the management staff would ignore my request and blamed me for my own problems. Enough of that though, the room was fine, clean, and in working condition. Especially for $40 a night split between 3 other people. Location was conveniently close to some good shopping centers and restaurants and also the metro station. Would not recommend soley based off of the customer service I had. Would recommend the room if you want a cheap place to stay outside of Chicago.

I picked this room because it was the lowest cost with an in room hot tub. It was near our goal in Chicago. Breakfast was good, the usual stuff. Some parking spaces were under roof and lighted which felt good due to truck with stuff in the back. Nice place, normal hotel otherwise.

Got a room at the last minute as my bus was being repaired overnight. Dest clerk was very good and gave a recommendation for a great place to eat within walking distance. It was only two doors down. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast includes fresh home made scrambled eggs. not the usual microwave stuff. I recommend this property when you are in the area.

The first impression we got from this hotel was that it was very much outdated. Wrinkled curtains, dirty floor, elevator smelled like old greased motors. The floor seems as if has not been waxed in decades. When we checked in our room the carpet was completely damp and made our feet wet. We had to place all our belongings off the floor. Bed sheets were old however they were clean. The shower was very old and no complimentary soaps just a dispenser with soaps. If we had not been so exhausted from our drive from Minnesota or worse with our children we would've checked out immediately. Just glad we were only there to sleep a couple of hours. We didn't even eat the breakfast just in a hurry to check out and be on our way to the airport.

Terrible service. Staff is rude and on the take for over priced shuttle rides, etc. Noisy and dirty room. Very slow internet. I complained of noise that kept me up all night but they would not comp my room for that night. Did move me to the top floor and the noise was much less.

We stopped at this hotel without a reservation on our road trip. Michael checked us in. He was very pleasant and offered many suggestions for dinner. The hotel was very clean. There was a worker cleaning the floor in the evening. The room was large and inviting with a microwave and fridge. The pool was very clean. The breakfast area was quite large and very clean. They had the normal Best Western breakfast. The woman who handled the breakfast was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed 1 night prior to going on vacation. our flight left very early the next morning, so the breakfast room attendant prepared us a "to go" bag with some danish, fruit and also we had some coffee. They shuttled us to the airport and we left our vehicle in their safe parking lot for 10 days, for FREE. Upon our return from our trip, they picked us up at the airport about midnight and we stayed at this hotel for an additional 2 nights for an event we were invited to in Chicago. The breakfasts were very good and hot. Coffee was a little weak, but we like ours dark. The pool is nice and there is also covered parking available on a first come basis. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. It is very quiet also.

The location is great, close to Chicago O'Hare, but also close to a nice shopping mall with Woodfield Mall, there's a Taco Bell around the corner, which clinched the deal for me. But also there is a Metra station close by to go downtown or a bus to Skokie that gets you to Wrigley Field. The hotel is clean, has breakfast, pool, gym, good house-keeping and the price is very good for the location. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I chose this hotel because Best Westerns usually provide a higher level of service & offer a great breakfast for an affordable price, also I needed a quick overnight hotel when I didn't make it through ORD customs & TSA in time for my connecting flight. If I could choose again, I'd probably stay somewhere else. Here are a few reasons: -The linens, carpet & shower curtain were very worn & tattered. Time for replacement on all. -My rotary dial phone in my room was not even connected to a phone line. I pulled out the furniture to try to find the cord but it wasn't there. Safety issue much? -Breakfast was average but not the usual Best Western spread I've come to know & love. Eggs were the only meat/protein product on the bar. Of the two waffle makers, 1 was broken & the other was partially broken-no alert to notify you when your breakfast was fully cooked. -The hotel advertises a shuttle service, but no driver is on duty so they hire out private taxis-odd, but effective. Seems like it would be expensive for the management. -The body care dispensers in the shower were not appropriate for the products being dispensed. After about 5 minutes of pumping the hair products, I gave up & dug in my luggage for something I had on me while dripping wet. Side note: I do appreciate the hotel's earth friendly approach to eliminate little sample size bottle waste, wished the dispensers worked. Beds & room were comfortable though-heat worked, sheets were clean but there was no comforter-found that odd. Just sheets & a blanket. Overall, it was a mediocre stay.

Room was OK. Clean but nothing special. Pool was closed, but we wouldn't have used it anyway. My 4am wake up call was never made, so it's a good thing we used the alarm as a back up. Shuttle to the airport was on time, but our pick up when we came back took 2 hours!!! I realize that the airport was probably busy but when I called for pick up, I was told 20 minutes. After 30 I called back and was told just another 15 min. After a bit, the Driver called and told me that the traffic was bad and it would be another 15 min. After 1 hr 45 min, I called the Driver and she said that we needed to go to the next door down and it would be 5 min. When she arrived she had another group that had just been picked up, but told us, she had driven by twice(we watched carefully and never saw her). Maybe this was all just a mix up but just tell me the truth.

Book room online after viewing website which showed that they had everything we desired. At time of check in we come to find out the pool is out of service which was very disappointing because it was something we were looking forward to after a long day in chicago museums. Tread mill in exercise room was also inoperable. The room however was clean and acceptable. The breakfast was good with fresh eggs and self serve waffles and other items. The parking lot was completely filled with cars parked around building half on the road and half off which seemed to a fire code violation. There was no room for our car in the hotel lot and had to park in a neighboring lot. Over all the stay was good for the price which was fair with 10 days of parking

Very clean rooms, parking is horrible due to park and fly. They allow too many cars in the lot. It was hard to navigate a SUV with cars lined alongside the fence. Free breakfast had a nice variety but there were not serving utensils with the muffins or waffle maker. There was not water offered to drink and no fountain that we saw. My daughter does not like apple juice or milk

My mother was in the hospital here for surgery and we knew were would need a convenient, reasonably priced place to stay. This was it! We were within 3 miles of the hospital. The hotel was clean and staff was very accommodating. The only problem was the parking. Definitely needs more spaces and monitoring of cars that park directly behind other vehicles, making it difficult to back out. But I highly recommend this hotel otherwise.

This hotel is very good choice for park-fly-night situation when you need to park your car, and spend night(s) before/after your travel. The rooms are clean and have TV, refrigerator, coffeemaker and etc. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast has many choices and food is fresh. Shuttle works on demand without delay.

The hot tub not working and when it was brought to the attention of the desk, I was told the manager was not available until two days later. the remote not working, it was fixed promptly. , the water pressure low, odor throughout the hallway

Dear Guest, I apologize you didn't have a good experience operating the Jacuzzi jets. Our staff did take the initiative to check the tub soon as you brought the concern to their attention but didn't seem to find the problem. Some guests like the pressure to be very strong and since it is a tub Jacuzzi it is limited pressure. We hope you will give us a second chance and try our new remodeled Jacuzzi tubs as we will be doing a project on that soon.

Brief overnight before an appointment, this hotel was clean and safe. The breakfast was basic hotel fare; nothing special but totally adequate. Parking was easy. There are a few under room parking places if you get there at the right time. There is an indoor pool and fitness center, but we didn't use them. We had stayed here before and chose to come back.

Hotel was clean, staff friendly, experienced no problems. Parking is limited and cramped. We stayed here before flying out of O'Hare Airport. Staff was flexible for early morning (5:45 AM) early trip to the airport. Driver was promptly on time. It took about 20 minutes to get from the hotel to the airport.

The overall experience was good, but some of the staff was not as helpful as others. We had an issue with the heat in our room (Not working even when on high) and 1 staff member was helpful in checking and restarting it, but the 2nd front desk clerk was not understanding. They offered for us to change rooms, but as it was 11pm and we were checking out the next morning it was not worth it. He was NOT understanding of us wanting to be accomidated for this (The temp outside was -2). Overall it was a good choice for our family (we had 6 rooms) but I am not sure I will choose this again.

Dear,Guest I apologize for the inconvenience you faced with the heat unit in your room during your stay. Unfortunately, sometimes the equipment breaks down and our maintenance staff fixes the problem right away if they are present at the property. If the maintenance staff is not working as it was in your scenario because it is past working hours then we have the housekeeping staff try to restart the unit and see if it fixes the problem. If it still doesn't work then our last option is for us to move the guest as they offered you to a new functional room so you don't experience this problem throughout the night as it was cold. We hope you will give us a second chance to make your stay a much better one.

My reservation was supposed to include airport shuttle and parking. When I checked in they charged me a daily fee for leaving my vehicle at the facility. Clearly understand what you are paying for when you make your reservation.

I am not sure how you booked the reservation but sometimes when it is done through a third party system the parking is free during your stay but there is an additional fee or a package deal you have to book to leave your car parked if you are traveling. Exterior and interior of the building was in need of repair. Because this hotel offers park and fly services there was not enough parking spaces available. Had to park next to curb and was blocked in the morning when checking out. Will not return to this hotel.

We recently had a guest hit the side of our wall with his car by accident so we are in the process of going through an insurance claim and getting the minor damage repaired. Our hotel is very famous for guests who do park N fly package. These guests leave their car parked at our property while they travel so that is why sometimes we experience the parking lot being full. everything was what I expected. Breakfast bar was great. pool area not that excited about wanted a hot tub but none. Front desk people were helpful. The beds were comfortable; Its location was close for food and shopping

We had family come in for a wedding and 10 rooms were booked. Received two free breakfast coupons. One person was sitting with us took a bit of my food and they brought over a bill to charge that person for a meal. Use your head people know what battles to pick. I will never return to any Radisson. Nor will all my family and friends Rooms were dirty small loud

Please beware of this Hotel. There was a very foul smell on the second it was so strong it smelled in the rooms. Could not sleep due to this. Hotel would no refund nights not stayed. Thieves. I had to book at another hotel across town and dispute on my credit card.

Perfect location for a quick trip to visit friends. Greeted by friendly, helpful staff. Free parking. Comp breakfast was fair with waffles, eggs, oatmeal, juice, fruit, pastries, toast and another type of side that changes daily (potatoes, biscuit/gravy, sausage patty. Plenty go coffee! My only disappointment was the size of the bath soap. One very small thin square of soap for the sink. To be fair, there is a device in the shower that contains body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. We solved the sink (which is outside the bathroom) soap by going to Walgreens and buying a bar! Easy solution. The beds are comfortable and the room was a good size. I will return for another visit...but will bring my own soap!

For the money, this was a great place to park and fly. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Since it was cool outside we did not have a/c issues other earlier reviewers mentioned. We were tired and disorganized and the young man at the front desk was very patient and helpful. He took time to clearly answer all our questions and provide the shuttle information we needed. The shuttle driver was friendly and timely. Breakfast was standard fare and plentiful.

was picked up promptly at O'Hare after I called when I got in at 12:15 a.m. only problem was when I asked to use the computer and did I need a password. was told by the desk clerk I didn't need a password and the computer was on. could not get the computer going and had to get the desk clerk to turn it on and the login phrase and the password. please don't waste people's time. tell them how to turn the computer on and the password.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in September 2015. Check in was easy, we were there 2 hours before check in, our room was ready, so we were able to go straight to the room. The room was clean, and beds were comfortable. I appreciated that the sink and counter were seperate to the toilet and shower. I didn't like that you had to be in the room for the AC to work, as it was 90 plus degrees and when we got back to the room it took sometime to get it to a comfortable temperature. For some reason the people above us were very noisy (sounded like a herd of elephants) Who walks around that much? They were up at 5am so we were too! The pool was nice. The morning breakfast was decent, although they needed to be more organized with plates, condiments etc.. We waited for for plates, then syrup, then napkins..... Overall, I would stay here again. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The price was very reasonable.

Looking for a hotel with a park n fly. This hotel had a park n fly at no extra charges. They had someone take us to the air port and when we returned 7 days later, he picked us up at the air port. This is the first time we stayed at a Best Western, was not disappointed. I think this is my new best friends..

"OK hotel but probably would not recommend"

Hotel was clean. Furnishings in room were reasonably newer. Bed was comfortable. Whirlpool in room was old but large and worked OK. Cold water handle on whirlpool leaked when turned on. A/C was old and plugged into a wireless sensor that turned off the A/C when no movement in room. Good for hotel to save energy but bad if you are staying in room. Room got stuffy overnight. We left A/C on low when we left room for the day but it was hot and stuffy in room when we returned because sensor turned A/C off. It took the old A/C unit a few hours to get room to good temperature after we returned. Breakfast on first morning was OK - eggs & french toast for hot items. No breakfast meats. Hot items were completely empty when we came down on second morning. Parking is only behind building. When we checked out on second morning, there was a van parked next to us with sliding door open. Van was full of people packed together and sleeping on floor of van. This was a little disconcerting to say the least. We would probably not stay at this hotel again.

We have recently replaced our AC units with brand new ones which are energy saving with a sensor that turns on when a guest is in the room and turns off once the guest leaves the room. I apologize if you experienced a few minutes wait for the breakfast items but sometimes if the hotel is full occupancy the food runs out quickly. "Overnight to and from Chicago"

We flew to Chicago to vacation for a week and stayed here the first night and the last night because they had an airport shuttle and because I could rent a car from Enterprise (just a mile and a half away) for about half of the cost of a car at O'Hare. The shuttle was very prompt both ways and the hotel was very nice. It's an older property in an older neighborhood, but it's safe and there were several places to eat within easy walking distance. The sports bar down the road was a nice place to get a beer. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was more than just a continental one and offered eggs and bacon as well as the other usual fare. Our only problems were an alarm clock and hair dryer that didn't work. They tried to fix the clock, but I told them it wasn't an issue. My wife had a "hair emergency" when she found the dryer didn't work, but the maintenance guy came to the room at 8 AM and replaced it with a new wall unit. Again, it's an older hotel so one needs to assume a few hiccups. Overall, I would stay there again on our next trip.
