"Happy travelers"
Debbie H, 19 Février 2019

Awesome hotel, very comfortable, clean, and quiet. Stacey at the front desk is an absolute delight! Only complaint is no breakfast included with room like other Best Western Hotels. Will stay again, hopefully they will start to included breakfast with rooms in the future.

"Beautiful Respite on a Snowy Night"
Islander280, 11 Février 2019

En route from Victoria to our AirBnB in Lake Cowichan in a winter snowstorm, after spending a few hours creeping along the Malahat in almost white out conditions, we decided not to continue in the dark. All the hotels in Duncan were overwhelmed with stranded travellers, as the Malahat had been closed due to an accident. We were lucky enough to get a room at Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn, after spending over an hour driving around to other places. Since we had our dog with us, we knew that we might have to spend the night in our vehicle! However the reception we got at the Best Western exceeded our expectations. The front desk staff welcomed us and our dog and we got the key card to a lovely room containing 2 queen sized beds. We were travelling light, since we had left our overnight items, clothes, even our cellphone charger at the AirBnB. Cold and tired, we were extremely grateful to find ourselves in a modern, comfortable space. Luckily, even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was open so we dined on Coconut Chicken Curry and had hot drinks. It was encouraging to find that the take out dishes were compostable, made of cardboard, not styrofoam. Everything about the room was impressive. Decor was inviting, beds very comfortable and cozy, lighting flexible for both reading and resting. The bathrooms was amazing with a square vessel sink, variable flush toilet, beautiful modern fixtures and a shining tub surround. It was all very classy and inviting...and abundant hot water for showers, too! Our stay was short, but we were very happy with our experience. Thank you to the staff for making us and our dog feel so welcome on a wintery night.

"Very good hotel"
Greg J, 04 Février 2019

Always enjoy my stay at this location. Hotel staff are quick and helpful. Restaurant is close proximity to your rooms. Lounge is a little farther away but not bad. Rooms are clean and updated. Express check out works well.

"Duncan's Best"
Carol B, 26 Janvier 2019

Such a great hotel. All newly renovated. Very quiet. The bedding was gorgeous. I was in a room near the elevator but I didn't hear a thing all night. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had room service as well. The food in the attached pub was delicious!

"Nicely furnished rooms!!"
YoungHoon C, 07 Janvier 2019

After the renovations, the newely furnished rooms and amenities were top notch. The rooms were nicely organized and smelled new. The restaurant & lounge at the hotel lobby were very comfortable and had great ambiance. The friendly staff was the cherry on top for this special place. The location is perfect for families and toruists visiting to and fro Nanaimo & Victoria. The large retail malls and restaurants were located conveniently within short walking distance. I would definitely stay here again!

"Avoid the Restaurant"
eghenderson, 21 Novembre 2018

Hotel room was adequate. Location is a pain to head north from. Must drive back roads to get back on highway. Restaurant service was terrible and put a real damper on our visit. Totally ignored by two servers.

"Credit Card Camping"
Sightsee57606210682, 20 Novembre 2018

My partner and I were bike touring on Vancouver Island with the intention of camping, but we ran out of daylight and energy and "pulled over" to the Best Western right outside of Duncan. We were happy to get a room last minute, but felt it was slightly expensive. We typically take our bikes to our room or leave them in locked storage (which they didn't have), but were told the rooms had just been remodeled. The hosts graciously took the time to find a spot for us to lock them up. We really enjoyed the BBQ quesadillas and local brew at the lounge as well as the Paint Night event that was going on. It created a fun, cozy, community feel to what we would normally consider "just a chain hotel." We tried going to breakfast in the morning, but it appeared closed. After coming back from Tim Horton's across the street, it looks like we might have just gone through the wrong door? Anyway, all in all, a great place for an unexpected stopover. Thanks!

"Weekend in Duncan BC Canada"
Vacation245179, 27 Octobre 2018

very nice hotel recently renovated, upgrades are well done, 3 floor with king size beds great idea, however 3 nights off season cost $447 which is making it expensive to stay just for a leisurely weekend

"Modern and fresh"
Tracy K, 30 Septembre 2018

Stayed here while visiting family. They just re-opened after a major renovation, and I can say that the hotel looks better than ever. They have all new beds, furniture, carpets, so I felt like I was staying at a brand new hotel. My room was on the second floor and the elevator wasn't installed yet, but the super friendly staff offered to take my luggage up the stairs to my room. Nice! They mentioned the fitness room will have brand new machines, so I'll try them out next time I stay here. Overall, very nice staff and very clean and modern hotel! Worth every dollar, definitely the best place to stay in Duncan.

"Evening with Family"
honeybunny2014, 18 Juin 2018

We went to the Cowichan Valley Inn Restaurant last Friday. The hotel part of the building is under construction to enlarge the facilities. However the Pub was open and serving meals. We had fairly good food. The atmosphere was not to our liking and noisy customers. The nice restaurant will not be available anymore due to the enlargement of the hotel facilities. We will not go back.

"Terrible Experience"
152sukhi, 17 Avril 2018

My family and I had booked two rooms at the Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn in Duncan, BC for May 18th, 2018. We had booked this a few month ago as our friend is getting married in Duncan. Just a week ago we had received a phone call stating that our two rooms were no longer available as the hotel is going under renovations and they will no be complete in time. We are now left with no hotel rooms for our friend's wedding as it is BC May long weekend that week and almost all of the near by hotels are full. We called this facility to get our deposit back and that has been a struggle. We called Best Western Cooperation and they told me that they will get touch with this hotel and they still have not been able to. This is the worse service I have ever received in my life. The wedding is less than a month away and we have no hotel to stay in for a reasonable price.

The Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn is a great place to stay in Duncan. It's Walking distance to Walmart, the rooms are clean and comfortable, their restaurant has great food and the prices are reasonable.

"Very good stay."
Canucksontheloose, 19 Janvier 2018

I was hesitant to book here whilst reading all the negative reviews about the noise associated with the renovations here -- people were booking through third parties which failed to disclose the reno events and were unhappy when they arrived. BW is on the ball about this: a management rep called me to warn me about it in case I didn't know so I could cancel my reservation. She could not guarantee at what time the reno noise would start or stop but I kept the booking anyways and ALL WAS GOOD. Despite the exterior of the hotel looking like a disaster area with all the fencing (you couldn't tell it was an open hotel), inside we had a nice clean room that never heard any renovation noise during our Friday night/Sat morning stay. Friendly front desk, room was not outdated and the price was very reasonable (not the cheapest in Duncan but you pay for what you get). No breakfast included but the parking lot is beside a Tim Horton's -- how perfect is that? Looking forward when it's all done and ready, inside and out!

"Cowichan Valley Inn"

Even though the hotel in under major renovations, they still have excellent rooms and service. Food is available in the attached restaurant/bar for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Location is great for us.

"Dependable quality and Service"
Terry S, 27 Décembre 2017

When staying in Duncan I choose to stay here every time. The rooms are well prepared for the traveller and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Although, close to the highway the traffic noise was minimal .

"every one should stay there when in DUNCAN"

"dec 1"
angelh631, 07 Décembre 2017

the only thing i had a problem with is the TV wasnt working but i was too exhausted to call down at the front desk i stayed in room 118. the only thing i would change at the restaurant is that maybe the servers would come back around more often to check on us when we were ready, but they were really busy?

"Cowichan Valley Inn"
cynthiad779, 24 Novembre 2017

Excellent service, very comfortable bed, room was super clean. The exterior is under renovation but this didn't affect my stay. The Inn includes a restaurant and pub which was great, it was nice not to need to go hunting for a place to eat dinner and breakfast. Prices were also very good..

"Under Construction"
lcur, 11 Novembre 2017

Hard to review this hotel as it was under construction. The room we stayed in needed some love - bathroom was outdated and needed a paint job! Reception area was temporary due to construction. No breakfast included at this Best Western - which would have been nice due to construction. Driving up to hotel we thought it was closed due to fencing around the building. Rate similar to other hotels - perhaps should be cheaper during construction ???

"Island traveller"
Karen M, 30 Octobre 2017

The purpose of my visit to Duncan area was strictly business and the location of the hotel was very convenient to the final destination for doing business. The hotel staff were very friendly and congenial giving great directions to other areas on interest in town.

"Diamond inherited rough"
Mary Janet M, 16 Octobre 2017

Diamond in the rough . Even thought the hotel was going through major renovations the management did their best to make us feel welcome . They gave us a nice discount on our room and the staff were friendly and helpful . Giving recommendations on alternative restaurants with print out directions . Thanks for the great stay we look forward to your finished renovation. And not to forget the workman. they to greeted guest as they passed us . Well done !

"Don't stay while under renovation"
Richard B, 13 Octobre 2017

This used to be the best hotel in Duncan, and maybe it will be again, when the current renovation is completed. My advice is not to stay there until the renovation is completed and you can be sure that you won't have loud construction noise in your room from workmen directly overhead. We booked an overnight stay in August 2017. When I booked, over the phone with the hotel front desk, I was told the hotel had some renovations going on but was operating normally, except for the pool being closed. That sounded ok, since all we needed was a comfortable room, with a restaurant nearby. But when we arrived and went to our room, mid afternoon, the noise was unbelievable. Workmen were stamping around directly above us, building on a second story. They were hammering, and running rotary saws, directly overhead. It's a wooden structure, so the noise was very loud, just as if I were running a rotary saw in the upstairs of my own house. The room wasn't fit to be occupied. This wasn't a "renovation", it was a major construction project. The front desk staff person was very unfriendly and told me that she wouldn't do anything about the noise, and wouldn't contact a manager (as I requested), and there wouldn't be a manager on site until the next day. The noise would stop some time later that evening. Oh, and my family and I could leave if we wanted to, no charge. Gee thanks. I've stayed here before and didn't expect the Four Seasons, but this was too much. I walked out to the parking lot (it was too loud to call from the room), called the Best Western 1 800 number, got shuffled around from person to person, and eventually one of their customer service managers at their HQ in the US contacted the Hotel. After about an hour, that resulted in the construction crew moving to another part of the property, not directly overhead, which reduced the noise in the room to a tolerable level. All in all, this was a very unpleasant experience. When we checked out the next day we weren't charged for the room (which I did not request), but I would far rather have had the kind of pleasant, no fuss, experience that I'd expect at a BW or similar brand name hotel in a small city like Duncan.

"Rude Staff and Management "
Barbara D, 02 Octobre 2017

I stayed one night was supposed to stay longer but the desk staff is stuck up and just stands there gossiping about other staff. Management or what I took to be management brings a kid to work with her and tells the staff he's sick but he's sitting in the restaurant around employees and guests. Then digs through the candy with his dirty hands. I think this place needs new management and staff. Food was decent and rooms were good. Renovations didn't bother us at all but the drama and disrespect for other employees is disgusting

"terrible dirty rooms"
Richard W, 27 Septembre 2017

This hotel is under renovation and should close down until the work is complete. they charge you the normal rate and give you dirty rooms and 1/2 the service. if you like a clean room stay away from this place until the renovations are complete.

"Only because it is under renovation!"
Peachlandnana, 24 Septembre 2017

The room was comfortable and I know once this Best Western is done all renos it will be fabulous! It is close to Nanaimo, Chemanius and many other attractions! Hotel staff were exceptional, helpful and friendly! It is in a great location! They have a Wonderful restaurant with Great food attached!

"Great location, great food and friendly staffs"
Simon S, 22 Septembre 2017

PRO: - Convinent location - Professional friendly staffs - Clean, comfortable, and quiet rooms - Good food served at the pub - Relaxing atmosphere CON: - Temporary closure of the swimming pool I stayed here for two nights during my trip to Duncan. I was little bit hesitant in booking the place based on the current negative reviews about this place but my experience I had with this hotel was surprisingly pleasant. For us, the renovation did not bothered us at all. I am a very light sleeper yet I had a great restorative sleep during the stay and never had any problem with the noise. On my first day, I arrived to the hotel quite late due to the delays with the ferry. I got here around 9:00 PM, very tired and just wanting to go into the room and relax. Upon arrival, I was greeted with this friendly receptionist who made the check-in process very easy and pleasant for us. She knew how tired me and my family was and made sure that we get into the room asap. I felt warm welcome from her friendly yet courteous service. Secondly, the location of this hotel couldn't have been better. Its convinent location made it very easy for us to travel around the place. It only took us ~15 mins to get to either Lake cowichian, Maple bay, Westholme, or Cobble hill. It was also only about eight minutes away from Duncan donwtown, which made us very easy to attend the Farmers market which held on Saturday. Another plus of this hotel's location was that there were lots of shops nearby. Tim Horton, Subway, and Walmarts were all within the walking distance from the hotel. Thirdly, the restaurant they have here was really nice. I was told that the pub was under the new management and the food I had here was just really good. I had a chicken pot pit. Good portion, fresh ingredients, and cozy relaxed ambiance. It was perfect for me. Lastly, the room I got was very clean. Linens, pillows and blankets were wonderful. Clean and fresh smell. Bed mattress was very comfortable. Not too soft and not too hard for me. I knew that all Best Western Hotels are required by the company to have expensive mattresses but didn't expect it to be this good. All the furnitures in the room was dust free. Washroom's showerhead and tap had a strong water pressure. The amenities they provided for us was in a decent quality. Only flaw I could say about this hotel is that their swimming pool was closed when we were there. But we knew about this ahead of the time as it was clearly stated on their website. Overall, I'd highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Cowchian area.

"Decent Stay"
Leslie H, 18 Septembre 2017

Our 1 night stay was decent even with the hotel undergoing renovations. Our room was nice, comfortable and quite roomy. The staff were great and very attentive. They provided suggestions on what shopping was available close by etc.

"Definitely NOT a 4*"
trippeehippee, 15 Septembre 2017

This hotel was really a disappointment. We are typically Best Western patrons and have always had good stays at these hotels .. this one was definitely the exception. First and foremost we were not informed at any point prior to arriving that this hotel is under renovations at the moment but that wasn't one of the issues actually. Firstly, this hotel smells like an old hotel .. a mixture of mildew, cigarettes and booze greet you when you enter, fortunately the rooms don't smell like this but it's really off-putting when you enter. Secondly, Duncan was under a "boil water" advisory when we were there. This of course is not the Best Western's fault but once again we were not advised of this until we entered the room and found a notice on the credenza advising us of this. A short while later a young man came to the door offering us 2 small bottles of water, when we asked for 2 more for making coffee, he joking said that the whole thing was really probably over played and he himself had drank the water out of the tap that morning and was, in his words, still alive. He also suggested that the water is boiled as is goes through the coffee machine anyway, however when we insisted on extra, he did grudgingly hand them over. Some one should inform this young man that water needs to boil at a full rolling boil for 1 minute to effectively remove bacteria. Okay thirdly, the faucet in the tub leaked continuously all night and not just an occasional drip, a steady stream.Next, the bed was horrible .. it felt like it was 10 years old. Lastly .. the location, while handy to access, it's very loud .. unfortunately our room overlooked the entrance way to the hotel, so we heard every vehicle coming in and because of its close proximity to the highway, we also heard that noise all night, so bring ear plugs. All in all, this was definitely not a good experience.

"dismissive manager"
auscor, 11 Septembre 2017

We enjoyed a great evening with friends. Our meals had some issues. They were super busy (not an excuse) and we decided to not send our food back. I did follow up the next day with the restaurant manager and I have never been so blown off and dismissed. In fact after my polite feedback he had no plan for corrective action, and then said maybe you will come back, to which I replied gobsmacked that actually no we would not now, he then explained to me 'well that would be your choice" I suggest visitors find another 'choice' I am a local and I will not go back.

"Nice stayed as always"
khuanruedeej, 05 Septembre 2017

It's very good weekend with a calm and relax night at BW Cowivhan Valley Inn. The hotel is under renovation But we didn't get any bothers from that. So we will wait to come visit when the renovation is done!

"Back to the past"
harveyo80, 04 Septembre 2017

Live in this area for many years so when one of the Family was celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary we knew that the BW Cowichan Valley Inn would be a good place to stay.As it has always been in the past.

"Renovations"
ladinem2017, 01 Septembre 2017

Currently under renovations. No access to pool. same price. Carpets filthy. not maintained properly. friendly staff. you would think that they would have the carpets cleaned professionally on a regular basis.

"Huge disappointment "
Malissa L, 26 Août 2017

While the staff are friendly, they are forgetful and don't offer a lot in the way of information, even when politely and directly asked. We came with a special needs child and were asked if we could carry his wheelchair up the stairs sure to the elevators being out of service from constriction. It takes two steering men to lift it. Most importantly, the room was filthy. The shower had not been cleaned and garbage and food were left in the room from the previous people. Gave 2 stars as the attached pub was amazing! Great food, awesome staff! I would never stay here again.

"Under construction"
russbat, 26 Août 2017

When we reserved with the front desk, they failed to mention it was under construction. While the noise was manageable the dumpster 2 feet from our window was unpleasant. In addition, the pool was closed (also no one told us) and we were really looking forward to it after a long day on the motorcycle. That being said, everything else is adequate, not special or great, just adequate.

"Under renovation but no problem."
J4076TDmaryh, 25 Août 2017

Left it late to get hotel. Another BW found a room here for four adults. Room large enough to accommodate us with no problem. Room very clean. Went to pub next door for dinner. Good food and reasonable pricing. Hotel under renovation but no problems.

"Good night's sleep"
Debbie054, 25 Août 2017

This hotel is right off the Trans Canada Highway which made the location easy to get in and out of and back on the road first thing in the morning. Although it is currently under construction, my room was away from the construction area and had a great night's sleep. I did not hear anything. A fantastic restaurant/pub is attached to the hotel so no need to try to find somewhere to go once you arrive.

"A comfortable stay"
Island Nikki C, 23 Août 2017

I stayed here for 3 nights over a 7 day period and although it seems a little tired, it was comfortable and clean. Major renovations are being done and in spite of the noise and disruption, the hotel is mostly operational. I was pleased that the construction hours are limited. They have a young man named Isaac on the front desk and his friendly, polite, personable attitude is a HUGE asset to the hotel and he genuinely enjoys his job! Being adjacent to Tim Horton's is definitely a plus when staying here.

"making it better"
Mitchell N, 22 Août 2017

This hotel is under renovations at the moment so there are some limitations. However, the staff are great, the restaurant is excellent, the WIFI in the room works great but it cuts out when on the phone and you have to login each time. This will be a very nice hotel when it is finished so have a little patience.

"Would Not Return"
finnie2, 20 Août 2017

We stayed here while attending a wedding and only needed a place to change and sleep. The room, dated but clean and comfortable, served that purpose. But after returning to the hotel at the end of a long day, things happened to spoil our experience.Coming in after midnight, there was very loud partying going on in a room on our floor. Relatives who had returned an hour before us said it had been going on, inside and outside, since then. The night clerk finally sorted it by 12:30, too long in everyones' opinion. Using the washroom at 5 am, I found the bathroom floor was flooded from rain coming in due to renovations and we mopped it up as best we could. At 8 am the power went out in the area, not the hotels fault but the final straw as we all packed up in darkness with no coffee. When checking out and mentioning the flood to the clerk, her answer was "that's because the skin is off the roof, nothing I can do". When customers have been so inconvenienced, it would be nice customer service or gesture to offer points or the like. After our survey was completed the hotel, much as they do here, expressed regret and invited us to revisit when the reno is all done. Because of all the issues and the lack of customer care when they happened, we do not intend to do so.

"Great location"
768herbertf, 19 Août 2017

We were visiting family in Nanaimo, but after our visit we were headed for the US side ferry, and since we had to catch the early ferry, this made our journey down, not as long, made it less stressfull, even tho they were renovating in the Hotel, we didn`t even notice that. Nice clean place.

"Not told about major renovations"
Slk1989, 14 Août 2017

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding with a large group. Not told about major renovations happening at the hotel during our stay (adding a whole new level to the hotel). No elevators. Pool was closed for the whole season due to the renovations. Hallways were very dirty. Rooms were clean and average decor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Experienced a long lasting power outage on the last day of our trip, hallways were pitch black with no back up lights. Wifi was good other then the fact it would logout every time I closed my phone.

"Never staying there again"
H6786VWandreae, 14 Août 2017

Went for our sons wedding , manager was not helpful at all , did not inform us of the renovations until 2 days prior to our visit. No pool and was a fight getting a room opened so we could change into our wedding garb

"Hotel was in construction looked terrible, roof leaked water bathroom. Hallways stunk of vomit. Didn't feel clean."
186terrels, 14 Août 2017

Dirty feeling not nice at all!! Hallways stunk of vomit, very hot and humid and workout room and our bathroom was leaking water from light fixture in roof. Told front desk lady and she didn't even seem surprised.

"Renovations dampen holiday travelling"
butchie54, 13 Août 2017

This Best Western was adding a third floor which resulted in no elevator nor a pool to relax in after a long day of driving. Restaurant/pub had great food but not part of the hotel association. Not the easiest to drive into.

"Under renovation"
L H, 07 Août 2017

It is under renovation and looked decidedly dodgy upon arrival in the dark. It does not look much like its website photos so we were quite taken aback. There is no lobby, no elevator, no breakfast, and the upstairs hallways were dirty. The room itself was fine; it was clean (though aging) and had a good bed and linens. It is noisy in the morning from trucks. Tim Hortons is next door. If you need a place to sleep in Duncan, this will do. If you are on holiday, maybe choose a different town.

"Oh well..."
Mike H, 05 Août 2017

I can't say I recommend staying here. We made a last minute decision to go to Vancouver Island and when most of the other chain hotels didn't have room, this one did. I'm not saying it was bad but I would spend $20 more to stay somewhere else. They are renovating but I think they are making a bad decision on how they are doing that but let's see.

"Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms"
akdvan, 03 Août 2017

We were attending a wedding at Bird's Eye Cove Farm. We were allowed to check in 2 hours early which was very helpful and allowed us to get ready with plenty of time to get to the celebration. Bed was very comfortable with crisp, clean sheets. Clean bathroom with plenty of towels. Internet reception was good, overall would recommend for families.

"Keep looking"
P5257ELstephanieb, 31 Juillet 2017

Looks like it was built in seventies and maybe renovated in eighties. You can hear traffic all night with trucks down shifting. The bathroom is right out of the 80's as well. The place smelled like cigarettes covered up with cleaners.

"Renos, really?!"
ErinFeil, 24 Juillet 2017

They were in the middle of renos so the outside looked kinda sketchy however the interior was clean and fairly up to date. It was nice to have the bar/restaurant on site. Room was fairly spacious. Could've used a magnifying mirror in the bathroom but, how picky are ya gonna get? Lol.

"Comfort in a good location"
Tom G, 18 Juillet 2017

Comfortable hotel with a friendly, helpful staff conveniently located a couple of miles from downtown Duncan. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovation but inconvenience to guests is minimal. Breakfast is not included with room, but had some great eggs Benedict at the attached restaurant.

"Bond"
658ashifi, 14 Juillet 2017

Very good hotel for the value. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean and decor was up-to-date. Close to the town and shopping. Tim Hortons is next door. Will stay here again when in this area. Hopefully soon.

"Under renovation"
David B, 11 Juillet 2017

Whole place is being renovated, which is good, and the work didn't disturb me, but facilities are limited. Staff and room were fine, comfortable bed, usual room amenities except no microwave. wifi was good. Pub onsite was good for food and drink for dinner, but didn't offer breakfast until 7 am. I had an early start so had to stop elsewhere. I'm sure it will be up to usual BW standard when reno is complete, but until then I probably won't stay again.

"Rooms are very clean and the breakfast was awesome!"
Sylvia Y, 04 Juillet 2017

We are family of 9 booked three rooms and spent one night only in the Best Western. The location was really easy to find, just beside the highway so very convent to all other tourists spots! The hotel is renovating right now so it probably doesn't look as good at this moment; however, inside of the hotel is clean and service of the staffs are very helpful to compensate! Breakfast was not included but 15% off with the room coupon and was very tasty! I think I'm gonna stay here again if I ever need to go upisland in the future!

"Not the best sleep"
terrydA3227PM, 03 Juillet 2017

People banging doors 11:30 pm standing in the hall ways talking I had to go and ask them to be more considerate order lasagna was not told it contained mushrooms I am allergic did not eat or could be bothered to send it back went to tims I had to get up at 5:30

"Always quality"
desireet2017, 03 Juillet 2017

I can always count on Best Western for consistent quality in hotel and staff. I arrived quite late and the kitchen was about to close but they stayed open so I could have some dinner. Very much appreciated!

"Cozy place with great value"
readyourmind, 26 Juin 2017

I visited from South Korea for business trip, the place was cozy and quite even the room was facing the highway. I had a very comfortable stay and had no jet leg at all for my short 5 day visit to Canada. I was greeted very warmly by the staffs, and what amazed me was how attentive they were for even small needs/requests. The bar service was good too, and as a matter of fact, organized event was taking place on the day I visited, and I enjoyed it very much. This is a strongly recommended place with great value!

"Transition"
Kenneth M, 25 Juin 2017

Hotel under renovations so pool was unexpectedly closed. Room was not sufficiently clean and was moved to new room without hesitation. Hotel staff acted quickly to remedy any issues. Staff polite, responsive and professional. Honored any commitments they made, Impressive. WOULD GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY. GOOD STAFF, worth a look.

"Business travel to Duncan BC"
John H, 24 Juin 2017

I travel for business a lot and stay at many hotels/motels. I enjoy staying at the BW Cowichan Valley because of the location. The building itself needs some updating, which is happening now, the rooms are very clean. However I also have been very impressed with the staff.

"Excellent staff and great food"
Ginja L, 22 Juin 2017

hey this is Ty the paint guy and I haven't taught Paint Nite here for a while, but I miss it. The staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. It's a really good vibe in here and the food is great, classic pub style food. My personal fave is the beef dip, so check it out!!

"Thank you~! I made successful business trip schedu in BW Cowichan Valley."

"A Gem On The Island Highway"
davidjoanv, 16 Juin 2017

A well-appointed hotel currently undergoing renovations. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, operating in a very efficient manner. A fine dining room providing excellent tasty meals and very attentive service. We will very definitely be staying there again.

"Friendly Staff & Clean Rooms"
Bianca E, 15 Juin 2017

Stayed a night in the BW Cowichan hotel and would definitely stay again; the staff was very friendly and attentive, the room was well kept and clean, and I slept great - the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

"Best Western- Duncan, BC"
96sherib, 14 Juin 2017

The staff at the Best Western in Duncan, British Columbia were very friendly and helpful right from making reservations on the phone and then again in person when we checked in. Staff were eager to please, professional, efficient; very helpful in every way. Good luck with your renovations to add a third storey; business must be good!

"Noisy and annoying."
ddavis7769, 11 Juin 2017

Last night we were in room 101 (Sat. June 10). Got to bed around 11PM - a friend gave us the room in support of her charity. The room was fine, front desk staff great. About midnight, somebody moved in upstairs. They were heavy footed, needed a long shower and one of them practiced running the length of the room frequently (maybe a child). There was parking outside our window. It was also a meeting place for partiers and people who honked their horn everytime they locked their car - which was often. About 3 AM a bunch of drunks came down the hall and somebody fell into our door loudly. At 3:45AM some a..hole phoned our room. Seemed surprised we were asleep and then hung up. Very tired today! Front desk was very nice when I mentioned it this morning but I am still tired. Been there a few times - probably never again.

"Another excellent visit"
michaelwI5786VY, 10 Juin 2017

Even though the hotel was undergoing some restoration it did not affect an excellent visit yet again. We had an excellent room and ate in the pub as the dining room was closed. Close to Duncan and it was easy to get there, although the hotel is close to the main road there was no road noise. Close to Tim Horton's for quick food.

582earnestb, 07 Juin 2017

Staying in the Cowichan Valley Inn is always nice , we were sorry the restaurant was not open as we have eaten there on occasion while still living in the Valley but will come back when the renos are done .

"Good stay"
Rick S, 07 Juin 2017

As the facility is undergoing renovations it is hard to give a fair assessment until all work complete. The service however was terrific in all capacities. The rooms and hallways have been redone. The stay was clean and comfortable. When the renovations are complete I feel this property will be a little hidden gem.

"great accomodation in Duncan BC"
helenlJ2255YY, 05 Juin 2017

very convenient place to stay while in Duncan or Cowichan Valley area. As we usually attend the annual swim meet in Duncan, this hotel is a great place to stay for the meet. It is within 5 minutes of the Aquatic centre and also downtown Duncan its self. Easy access off the highway from either direction. .

"Highway friendly"
R P, 04 Juin 2017

Excellent value and location for the money. Very convenient to the highway. The restaurant met out needs after a long day of driving. The house staff met all our needs and provoded us with extra morning coffee. The motel is currently uundergoing some renovations but it did not effect us in any way.

"A quick Pass through Town"
JimboCanucks, 03 Juin 2017

We stayed here to visit family in the area. We were greeted nicely upon our arrival and provided with great information about the area and facilities. Unfortunately, there is a big reno going on right now. The room is a typical room, nothing spectacular but as we were on the highway side of the facility there was traffic noise, predominantly Harleys by the sound of it, that could be heard so a room facing the back would be preferable. On our departure we were again treated very pleasantly.

"Great place to stay while working in the area"
jenniferarmour, 23 Mai 2017

Good clean comfortable rooms with good internet service. The pub offers a large variety of meals that are more like home cooked than hotel restaurant style. Good sized portions and reasonable prices. I have stayed here numerous times while working on a project in town. I have never been disappointed by this hotel. I would not hesitate to stay here again. No fancy pool or amenities but that was not a requirement for my trip purpose.

"Excellent"
les c, 07 Mai 2017

Fantastic hotel. I've stayed at this hotel many times since the eighties and have never had a bad stay. The restaurant and pub are great. Only a few minutes from downtown with lots of facilities nearby and right on the main highway but still very quiet.

"Very Nice place to stay in Duncan"
T8952YXkarenc, 06 Mai 2017

This was a very nice place to stay, Quiet and off the hwy but close to all amenities. The location is close to loads of shopping and car sales centers. There is a nice looking dining area and neighborhood pub, I never had a chance to check them out but they looked great.

"Great clean place to stay"
Janis S, 24 Avril 2017

The restaurant was great! The staff pleasant and friendly. Recommend the prime rib for dinner. Saw people having breakfast which looked great too. Very clean restaurant. The room was clean and quiet for being right on the highway. Would definitely stay there again.

"Only hotel I stay at. 20+years"
Reava S, 20 Avril 2017

I've been staying at the best western in Duncan for the past 20 years. It's been a great place to bring my kids and now that they are adults I bring my dog instead. The staff is and have been so welcoming and helpful. The Best western is and will always be my #1 place to stay.

"friendly staff, nice place to stay."
alexconway44, 14 Avril 2017

very convenient for business. meeting room was available which we reserved as well. also has a very good breakfast menu albeit small dining sized restaurant but suited our needs well. i would definitely stay again. the staff were very attentive and friendly too.

"A great place to stay with friendly & attentive staff!"
marmar-1991, 01 Avril 2017

It was my first time in Duncan, BC & I stayed at the Best Western Cowichan Valley Inn for two nights! The double-bed room I stayed in was very clean and cozy - the bed was so comfortable!!! For someone like me with chronic shoulder/neck/back pain, a comfy bed is a must on my list when I travel & BW Cowichan Valley fulfilled it :) They also had a Keurig coffee machine (with coffee/tea pods, sugar packs, cups, etc) as well as a large screen TV with cable! The WiFi worked really well on my electronic device, which was very nice because I needed to complete many tasks on my device. Friendly and attentive staff made my stay much more enjoyable as well. Kisandra, the customer care supervisor, was very sweet, easily approachable, and always smiling too! It makes a big difference to visitors when you are greeted by staff who seem very passionate about their jobs. I also had a chance to eat at the restaurant/pub in the hotel and their food is great!!! I had the cod burger & coconut curry, which were delicious! You should also try their fries :) A relaxing atmosphere at the restaurant/pub & friendly staff were definitely a plus! I was told by the staff about their upcoming renovation/upgrades, which is exciting news! I'll definitely be staying at Best Western CVI when I re-visit Duncan!!! Thank you everyone at BW CVI :)

"a great place to stay any time"
Craig G, 30 Mars 2017

this hotel is the best hotel I have staid in and the people are very friendly and the food is great and every time I go to Duncan I stay there and it is easy to get parking even for mt 10 ton truck and the bed are very good and the rooms are very glean and quite and the swiming pool is all ways clean and if you need any thing the people will get it for you or will tell you were you can go to get it

"Great place to stay :)"
Sehee P, 29 Mars 2017

I had a good stay in this hotel. Nice and quick service and comfortable bedroom with good quality facilities. I could see workers smile faces when i ask for something and they listen to me right away. And the food i had in this hotel was really good so i love it. I would like to visit and sleep here again.

"Great Place"
sfcstar7, 26 Mars 2017

Best inn I've ever experienced so far. Good location, good rooms, good food, and good service. I used the guest conference room and it was just the best facility. It had everything we needed for our meetings: laptop, projector, projector screen, and mic sound system. Such a great place.

"Dog Friendly"
Sue G, 14 Novembre 2016

Stayed here while my home was being made wheelchair accessible. The room was comfortable and worked well even though my 28" wide wheelchair didn't quite fit through the bathroom door. All of the staff were pleasant and accommodating. The food at the restaurant was good, especially if you like fish tacos.

"Noisy and Old"
Ruperto, 12 Novembre 2016

This was one of the noisiest hotels we have ever stayed in. The old timber frame structure transmits noise from the adjacent highway, between rooms, corridors and floors. The heating and refrigerator units are also noisy in the rooms. We needed a good night sleep on a business trip and didn't get it. In addition it seems to attract kids hockey teams playing at the near by arena, that created a lot of noise in the corridors and rooms. I won't stay here again. Its a tear down.

"Service provided by male bartender in the pub was atrocious!"
Kassidy_McLeod, 01 Novembre 2016

If the type of service provided by the male bartender is commonplace, I will NEVER return again. Stopped at the pub on my way up Island and experienced the most disrespectful bartender/supervisor I've ever encountered. He was rude to customers, had a terrible attitude and berated his staff, who were clearly trying to pick up his slack by the looks of things. I even witnessed one of the other servers crying after he spoke (aka barked) at her! How is this kind of behaviour allowed in 2016??!

"Clean and quiet weekend"
Alexander M, 31 Octobre 2016

We needed a convenient place for one night to visit friends and relatives in Duncan. This place is next to the highway - a two story building with an attached restaurant and lounge. We were worried about road noise over night. But we were given a room at the back, and heard nothing. The room was clean, the queen-size bed was comfortable with more pillows than needed, and the rate was reasonable. The internet worked well. As a bonus,Tim Hortons is next door.

"Unimpressed with internet, and noisy"
Lauren S, 31 Octobre 2016

This hotel is located right off the highway, so it can get rather noisy at night time. The hotel was completely booked solid so I was unable to switch rooms - no earplugs provided or sold at the kiosk downstairs. Internet is slow/doesn't connect - would not recommend if you're travelling for business.

"Comfy Bed, Clean and Affordable"
Michelle H, 24 Octobre 2016

The room was sufficient. Nothing special and the bathroom was kinda small and old but it was just fine. The bed had a duvet which was much nicer than those horrible sheets. No breakfast included but for our purpose that was fine. We stayed here because it was close to shawnigan lake (20 min) and we came from the lower mainland so took the Nanaimo ferry. It was much easier than the Victoria ferry. Lots of great breweries and cute little towns to visit.

"Oct 13-15"
S8486YGdianeg, 17 Octobre 2016

We have always stayed with family in Duncan until recently when that was not an option anymore. Cowichan Valley Inn is a very neat, clean hotel, with an excellent pub with great food. This was our 2nd stay here. The staff is friendly and super nice, and the hotel itself is comfortable and quiet.

"Older, but still good"
Karina H, 20 Septembre 2016

When I first arrived, the age of the building had me concerned... however the room was clean and comfortable, and the toiletries were eco friendly. There is no elevator, and noise transfers quite easily between the rooms and the hall, but there is plenty of parking and the staff were friendly.

"Lunch in the pub"
rvod, 18 Septembre 2016

We met a friend here for a very late lunch, we were the only people in the bar. The server was very nice and food was served quickly. We tried the clubhouse and the chicken pesto melt, both were average, but better than regular deep fried "pub" food. I am sure they get a lot of traffic here in the evening, the place is large enough that you don't need to hear other conversations, and the seating is very comfortable. If we hadn't booked a different hotel for the evening, we would have stayed here, it seemed very clean and well kept.

"Great place to lunch"
YoubouDebbie, 12 Septembre 2016

Recently had lunch with friends at Cowichan valley inn great grilled chicken burger with fig jam sliced green apples Brie cheese lettuce on ciabatta bun was $14 with side of choice. Big comfortable booths lots of parking. Pleasant atmosphere big windows lots of natural light.

"Last minute overnight stay"
Renee M, 22 Août 2016

My husband and I booked a last minute 1 night stay (with our dog) at the Best Western Cowichan Valley in. Booking over the phone was very pleasant, easy and the staff were very friendly. We arrived at 10:00pm and check-in was quick and easy. Only down side was the card deactivated and I had get new ones (apparently they're very sensitive). The room was lovely, clean, spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The room had everything you needed, coffee maker, mini fridge, toiletries and even shoe polish.I also grabbed a snack to go at the pub, the chicken burger and cesar salad were excellent, however they forgot to put mustard on the burger (menu said mustard yet there was no mustard). We didn't have a chance to use the pool but overall had a very nice stay.

"Great Staff, Great Pool, Great Breakfast"
jamescQ6890WD, 14 Août 2016

We stayed one night while touring the Island. It was only our second day of nice weather so the pool was a great bonus. Check in staff were great with information and were very friendly. The breakfast deal in the restaurant was perfect for a mid size breakfast.

"passing thru or business trip"
Lisa J, 04 Août 2016

Very convenient, great staff! Good food! And a great place to unwind and have a glass of wine in the lounge after a long day! Restaurant opens super early so you can have breakfast before those early meetings!

"Nice rooms & facilities, crappy shower "
Dan468, 03 Août 2016

Would have given this a much higher rating, but for the awful shower. Excellent staff, great pub, and nice little restaurant. Dinner in the pub was a treat, with the large selection of beer, and broad menu. However, the shower seemed designed to be awful: no door, so it is just open; odd plastic cover on the drain, with sharp, broken edges; no ledge or shelf, so the soap had to sit on the floor when not in use. I would come back, but try for a room with a conventional shower. Also, on the side away from the highway.

"Very comfortable Best Western Hotel"
beachdreaminCalgary, 02 Août 2016

Stayed 5 days at this hotel. Great location on the North side of Dunan close to the Lake Cowichan turn and Walmart shopping. Luxurious king bed and down bedding. Updated rooms on the smaller size but perfect for the 2 of us. Excellent food and nice atmosphere in the pub. The pool was warm and inviting. Stay at the back of the hotel for peace and quiet. Except for one unfriendly lady at reception, the staff was friendly and helpful.

"Great Spot"
LLHH, 26 Juillet 2016

Convenient on off from the highway. An on site restaurant and seperate pub both of which are very good. Comfortable rooms with quiet ac units and comforters. The gym was basic with several cardio machines and a few free weights. Super friendly staff. A nice outdoor pool area. Suggest you ask for a room overlooking the back and pool as these rooms are quieter. A Tim Hortons next door and a new strip mall across the street. Very nice place to stay.

"Stayed one Night Annual Cycling trip"
CapitanVictoria, 26 Juillet 2016

I must say for the most part I like this hotel....nice outdoor pool, good lounge excellent food.....however I am an avid cyclist...my bicycle is high end and quite expensive, reluctantly they let me store my bike in my room...they do have a lock up in the basement ...most establishment's have no issue with storing..your bike in your room. We rented 5 rooms...11 riders...purchased supper and plenty of drinks....3 years ago we stayed downtown close to the Casino.......we will probably look at the accommodations in that area for next year.

"Excellent Value"
MW98382, 08 Juillet 2016

This hotel was excellent in every way. We especially enjoyed the attached restaurant/pub. We had an excellent meal and just a walk down the hallway to get "home". Much appreciated after a long day of driving. Highly recommend.

"Excellent!"
NeverHome22, 30 Juin 2016

Exceptional. Hats off to the housekeeping staff and all the staff who made our business stay a pleasure. This property gets 5??for cleanliness and I'm picky. I would recommend this to any & all. The CV Station Pub attached serves excellent food with a sincere smile.

"Perfect little spot"
Ted P, 08 Juin 2016

The Staff was very courteous and the hotel rooms were very updated and clean. A nice perfect little hotel with only 2 floors. This hotel has no elevator so if you have trouble with stairs you should request the 1st floor. Other than that it is full value for what we paid!

"Decent place to spend a night"
Jennifer P, 06 Juin 2016

Spent a night here for a swim meet. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. There was a fridge but no microwave. WIFI worked well. Location was quiet. Check in/out was quick and pleasant. Service at breakfast was great. The server reserved us a nice table by the window. Breakfast was good. BREAKFAST is NOT included in the room rate. I would stay here again.

"Great Experience"
MikeAndPauline, 01 Juin 2016

Canadian hospitality combined with great value! All staff were very friendly and went out of there way to accommodate. An excellent experience in all respects. (Only sorry that our weekend stay meant missing out on the breakfast specials!)

"Clean, convenient, and free parking"
Sandlew00d, 28 Mai 2016

Great front desk staff. Very helpful in finding directions and local attractions. Had breakfast at the hotel breakfast room....great food, fast service, and reasonable prices. Rooms a good size. Great internet service. A great place to stay while visiting around Vancouver Island.

"Best Western Cowichan Valley"
831elsies, 19 Mai 2016

I've stayed here overnight three times in the last 3 months, while on Vancouver Island house hunting. It's comfortable and convenient. Last time we were put in a room on the highway side of the building. That was a bit noisy with the traffic.

"Dog Friendly / Complete Comfort!"
Patrick F, 08 Mai 2016

We enjoy this hotel every year at the Tyee Kennel Club Shows. They are dog friendly and offer a reasonable rate for ground floor accommodation and have a very large grassed area for walking dogs away from busy traffic. Beds are excellent. Both Bar and restaurant serve good food at reasonable prices, and they have a Tim Horton's in the Parking lot, and a Walmart just up the road for things you may have forgotten from home. .

"Amazingly friendly and helpful staff, spacious, clean and comfortable room."
melsea, 27 Avril 2016

Kelsey and team really helped me feel welcome, relaxed and settled. After checkout there was further help when I ran into a jam. Without hesitation, they let me store my stuff all day while I had to deal with a dead motor battery before I could get out of town. They never hesitated to support me, were funny, friendly and helped me feel secure in an unexpected turn of events. The staff helped me quickly go from an initial feeling of being stranded to safe and with a plan. The room was spacious, pleasant and provided all I needed. The Keurig coffee maker + pods were a nice touch. While the location is still a few kilometers outside of town (I believe they have a free shuttle into downtown) , there is a 24 hr Tim Horton's right next door, a Subway across the street opening at 6:30 for food options outside of the hotel. The Forestry Museum across the street is worth the $12 entry ticket if you have some time. I will definitely stay here again when coming through Duncan.

"Great week at this Best Western!"
Elaine F, 23 Avril 2016

We enjoyed our week at this hotel and found the staff were both friendly & helpful! The rooms were cleaned promptly each day, with supplies replenished. Loved having breakfast in the nicely decorated breakfast room! Also, being next door to a great coffee shop was a plus! Will definitely return to this hotel in future!

"No Elevator"
terrygO4897US, 15 Avril 2016

Hotel staff were very friendly, hotel was clean & beds were comfortable. My only complaint is that there is no elevator...not good for people that have knee problems or if having to cart heavy luggage.

"Best place in town"
Elayne R, 01 Avril 2016

We have stayed at this hotel many times and always have had a great stay. The hotel is safe with an inside hall and very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are very clean and quite large. They have all the amenities. We highly recommend this hotel.

"Excellent 3 day stay!"
Ron O, 26 Mars 2016

We had a very nice stay in this location. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and it is close to everything in Duncan. There's also a good restaurant onsite. We had a room facing away from the highway and it was very quiet.

"Usually Pretty Good"
Dan B, 18 Mars 2016

For some reason this stay was very pricey and too boot the cable was not working in the evening. The cable is not really the hotels fault, but just felt I paid way too much for a Murphy bed (one of the last rooms) and no cable after a hard days work.

"Pleasantly Surprised!"
richardwS5250EC, 16 Mars 2016

Very accomodating and comfortable. Wonderful staff and room service that addressed all our needs. We have stayed at different BW's before and found them Good to Excellent. We knew of this location however it sits back off the street and almost hard to see. Once there, we found it delightful! Cozy restaurant with white linen and pretty decor (not overly large but like it this way), and a fun bar/pub attached. We didnt have time for the fitness room or other amenities but hope to stay again and for a longer period of time. We recommend you staying there for a smaller cozier stay!

"Great for a place on a budget"
Jorge_sainzmx, 08 Mars 2016

Of all the places in Duncan, BW is a great option if you are on a budget. The restaurant is great (don't ask for the cumin crab cakes though!) and the pub is superb. A lot of parking spots and at Duncan's quiet side...

"Awesome Front Desk Staff!"
Kailah S, 07 Mars 2016

The Front Desk staff were exceptional and the room was very comfortable, especially the bed & pillows! Even though our room faced the main highway the noise was not too bad and did not last throughout the night as I woke up at one point & noticed it was extremely quite outside!

"Disappointing stay"
Christine D, 21 Février 2016

Poor value for the money. I had to get the housekeeping staff to replace all the bedding as it appeared the room had not been cleaned. There were stains on the duvet and sheets from the previous guests. I used disinfectant wipes to clean the room myself before agreeing to stay.

"great service"
Ludwig P, 20 Février 2016

great place friendly people and very clean hotel needs some updating but rooms were very clean , breakfast was excellent and staff super friendly would highly recomend . The location was good right next to highway , the loundge although out dated was relaxed and had great dinners

"Nice quaint stay"
Kelly W, 03 Février 2016

I like this hotel as it is nestled in the large trees on the outskirts of Duncan. it is likely the best of the hotels located there and is offer sold out. Book Early. Although is look ominous from the outside it is really nice for a motor inn. rooms are very clean and have the comforts of any 4* hotel. Free Wi-Fi. great little restaurant with great food. there is also a bar/lounge with snacks and more casual atmosphere. I love staying here when I pass through.

"Nice, but dated."
familyskitrip2008, 27 Janvier 2016

This property is fine, do not get me wrong. The people are friendly, efficient and caring. The lounge serves good food and the staff are attentive. But the whole place is dated. The room was dated, the bathroom was dated. The bed was nice, and so was the shower - nice pressure. All in all a nice place from the people perspective. Safe and clean. Just needs a facelift.... Would I stay here again: for sure.

"Great service and staff"
chatchBc, 18 Janvier 2016

Stayed on a rainy weekend in January. The website said no pets but we found out you can have pets in the lower floor rooms. Maddi served us on the front desk, she was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant and pub attached to the hotel are quite good. There is a Tim Horton's right next door as well. Once caveat would be the rooms on the highway side of the hotel can be a little noisy.

"Good pub"
Reece911, 18 Janvier 2016

Stayed 1 night for a awards night that was hosted there. Good clean rooms, slightly older hotel but well maintained. Everyone was good, beds comfortable and room nicely decorated. Also had naturally free wifi but LTE seems quick there anyways.

"Well managed, with my dog"
Kidssleep, 02 Janvier 2016

This motel is clean, well staffed, and well cared for. We stayed only one night, after New Years. We noted that the staff were cheerful, despite the day after the celebration, and they were knowledgable and helpful. Internet connection is possible, as the wifi works well, the passwords are provided without asking, and there is a computer and printer in the lobby. The associated bar and restaurant has a great kitchen, and the food was imaginatively prepared and tasty. There is a wide selection of beer, and a "flight" of beer to taste is on offer. Our room was clean and everything worked. There are sufficient electrical outlets available. Our small dog was welcomed with a fee, despite noted to the contrary on some web pages. Tim Hortons is next door, and I was able to accommodate my addiction to their coffee. In my experience, it is rare to find reasonably priced accommodation of this quality, and I will return again when I am in this area.

"Delicious Diner and Drinks!"
andalusian101, 11 Décembre 2015

There is a formal Dining Room or eat in the beautiful comfortable Pub. Both are great. I had the CVI beef Burger and a glass of Malbec. Best burger ever. Well presented on a wooden board with a split order of garden salad and fries. Hubby had Beef Stroganoff and Guinness Draft. Serving sizes are large. We usually go for Prime Rib Dinner but it was not being served this Saturday evening due to Christmas parties. Service was great as usual. Excellent lunch menu and well known for their outstanding Eggs Benny at breakfast. We didn't stay in the hotel, just went for dinner.

"great place to stay"
movievic, 10 Décembre 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights under airmiles then because it was great on our return thru7 days later stayed another night.breakfast was one of the best that we have enjoyed in our travels with the variety and quantity. Embassy restaurant left a lot to be desired for an evening meal

"Best Western Duncan B.C."
Jeff B, 07 Décembre 2015

great experience. Rooms are very clean. All the small details were in place. Lounge was well run. Food was good. From the outside not a lot of curb appeal. once inside very clean. Lounge service was very pleasant.

"Hotel okay, but not enough value for the dollar"

My wife and I needed a place to stay while visiting Duncan for a function. All of the smaller rooms were booked, so we paid extra for the executive suite that was still available. Upon getting into the room, I was disappointed with the condition of the walls, trim, it looks like upkeep wasn't a priority. The room faced the highway which was very loud, and the biggest problem I had was the bed. It was very uncomfortable (and was a fold down Murphy bed, not a proper queen that was advertised). For $170, I expected quite a bit more, especially when we were recently in a similar sized hotel room in downtown Vancouver last September, and was considerably nicer, and about $50 less for the stay.

"Pleasant Hotel"

We stayed just one night as my wife had to be in Duncan for day surgery. We were pleasantly surprised to find a good quality Best Western in a small town. The room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. Despite being on the outskirts of the town the hotel is still close to the center and access is easy. The breakfast was very good and not overpriced.

"Hotel was okay! Staff behind desk unprofessional"

Hotel room was great and comfy, I went back up after checking it which they let me check in early which was really nice but when I standing there all I could hear was people talking bad about each other which seemed really unprofessional

"Overnight in Duncan"

This hotel is conveniently located close to where in Duncan that our friends reside. The staff was very good, but the hotel itself is aging and could use some renovations. It is a two storey building with no elevator, so you must be able to use stairs if you do not want to be on the ground floor. We ate dinner in the restaurant and had a very good prime rib meal.

"Pleasant stay"

I was not sure what to expect at this hotel despite the photos posted here and on the hotel website. Some colleagues had suggested it was a tired hotel. To my great surprise, walking into the room, I felt relieved. The room was freshly painted, and simply but tastefully decorated. The bathroom was very clean and had a good supply of nice sized towels. The bed was very comfortable, although the fluffy pillow didn't do much for me personally. Nice linen. I appreciated a nice desk with a very comfortable chair. The hotel also has a nice restaurant and pub. Would recommend staying here.

"Always a Good Choice"

Stay here every trip when I can get a room. Great pub/restaurant on site. Clean and quiet just outside of the main town with many amenities available. Recommend staying here when you can, but call ahead, it fills up fast.

"A quick overnight"

We were staying for a quick overnight visit. Had tried for a room in our normal places in Victoria but no luck on short notice due to Thanksgiving. Very pleasant alternative. Rooms have been updated since our last visit many years back. Staff friendly and attentive. This is a great base to do farm, antique and wine touring of South Vancouver Island.

I was completely satisfied with everything except that I missed the continental breakfast that I have come to expect as included when staying at a Best Western. The location on Highway 1 was most convenient.

"Good place to stay but Hot tub and pool not working"
EliseAlberta, 03 Octobre 2015

Stayed here on Sep 13, 2015. Best Western is usually a good chain, plus it was close to restaurants, etc. After our second attempt to stay in a place with a pool and hot tub we learned for our next stay to ASK. They were not working. Hotel was clean and comfortable and price was on par to what we like to pay. Breakfast was in a restaurant on site, so we had to pay. French toast was on French bread, but very thick with just the outside dipped and cooked, the inside was white bread that was hard to cut....I had to ask for a steak knife to cut it. I should have insisted on something else to eat....my mistake.

"Updated and comfortable"

I was here several years ago. It has been updated with flat screen tv, new bathroom counter, good quality carpet, Kuerig coffee and a sitting chair with foot stool. If you are travelling light, ask for a quiet room on the second floor. It you have a lot of luggage, stay on the first, since there is no elevator. The pub fare suited our taste for two nights.

"Best Western best Hotel in Duncan, BC"
Murray David K, 19 Septembre 2015

Other than the carpets in our room needing a thorough cleaning this hotel is the best in this area. All of the staff are most accommodating and willing to provide all advice and help on any of out requests. Excellent personalitiess in all of their facilities.

"Weekend away"

Room needs some upgrades and a few repairs. If you stay here stay on the top floor. Stayed on main floor and could hear the shower, toilet flush and people walking around in the room over head. The Bar/Lounge attached to the hotel was great. Food was real tasty and servers are very pleasant and attentive.
