"Excellent hotel, close to their downtown"
891yvonnel, 02 Octobre 2018

Excellent hotel, friendly staff, pets allowed. Very clean rooms. upgraded with updated furniture. Very modern and yet very cozy. Special area to let your dogs out at the front of the building. Close to the downtown shoppes.

"Best Western Emerald Isle"
Diane W, 19 Septembre 2018

I stayed 15 years ago, and because I had such a good experience, my husband & I came back. We had a very good evening here. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the hotel offers everyone a 25% coupon good towards breakfast at the restaurant next door to the hotel. The food was good too. We would definitely come back!

"Comfortable Stop While Traveling"
snogrl23, 15 Septembre 2018

Comfortable rooms that are nicely decorated. Close to the airport however, the noise from the airport is able to be heard from the rooms. Easy access to grocery stores and cafes all around. Great location to catch ferries to/from Vancouver.

"Friendly staff and large, clean rooms."
leslie026, 04 Septembre 2018

Front desk staff is so friendly and welcoming. Room was extremely clean, large, and nice fluffy towels. Outdoor parking. Lovely flowers. Attached to a restaurant where service and food was great. There is a pub about a block up the street (by the Chevron) which is really good for dinner too.

"Great stay"
NicolleBC, 04 Septembre 2018

The hotel is clean and staff was friendly. Central location...felt the cost was a little high but it was summer. The hotel gives you a voucher for 25% for the attached restaurant Smitty's. Bathrooms were a little on the small side

"Clean, convenient location"
DEEvaluator, 01 Septembre 2018

Offers a 25% discount at attached Smittys Restaurant. Good sized rooms, small bathroom. Staff were friendly and welcoming. One night for three adults including taxes around $300 several restaurants and grocery shopping within an easy walk.

"1 night"
stewart j, 23 Août 2018

Off of ferry - one of last rooms available - pricey Redone throughout and clean and very functional. Choice of pillows. Easy access and parking. Adjacent restaurant with discount given for breakfast Close to main part of quaint downtown

"Renovated. Most comfortable beds ever + 5 minutes from the airport"
katzabander, 10 Août 2018

We spent our last night at the hotel and I had the best night's sleep of our two week vacation. We had a suite and a massive and extremely comfortable king size bed. Our daughters had a queen-size bed each and were very happy. A very peaceful hotel which is so close to so many popular restaurants, speciality shops and the water front. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

"Vacation stopover on Vancouver Island transiting plane to BC Ferry at Swartz Bay"
2JRo, 27 Juillet 2018

This motel is conveniently located five minutes from Victoria Airport and five minutes to Swartz Bay. It was clean with nice furnishings, linens, bath amenities. Breakfast at Smittys next door was great and 20% hotel discount. We stayed on the outbound portion of our trip in their Killarney Suite rooms with living room, tv in both rooms, microwave, refrigerator and Keurig Coffeemaker. On return we had same level of quality in a standard room without sitting room. Located on the main street in Sidney with stores, shops, restaurants and just a few blocks to walk to the beautiful Sidney Pier and restaurants. Close to Butchart gardens, maybe 15 minutes away by car. Highly recommend for a short stay while traveling.

"Super Friendly Staff Spacious Rooms - Breakfast? "
Jen B, 25 Juillet 2018

Stayed at the B.W. due to an early morning flight out of Victoria. Was very impressed with the front lobby staff at check in , they were both funny and helpful. Lots of parking, spacious room which was clean and tidy. The hotel is also a quick walk from the waterfront which is handy. Draw back - breakfast is not served (at least not early in the am).

"Butchart Gardens"
hot4teacher63, 17 Juillet 2018

Rooms has been recently updated/remodeled. Only complaint we had was with a clerk named Natasha. Not too professional. Acted like a simple was request was too burdensome(towels). Not related to hotel. But if anyone needs to find a currency exchange without an airport visit. There is a CIBC bank in shopping mall across from hotel that will honor currency exchange

"Nice hotel, very fast internet, but too bad breakfast isn't included!"
mintchoco, 05 Juillet 2018

We stayed here after arriving from the last ferry of the day. Location was easy to find. I requested a recent refurbished room and that request was honoured as the bathroom appeared to be new. I liked how there was a separate sink outside the bathroom. The "fresh remote" cover was a nice touch. The hotel's internet was also really fast. The stay could have been better if the hotel provided breakfast. We were given a discount coupon for the Smitty's restaurant next door. However, we just walked down the street and ate at McDonalds.

"Got everything you need."
Jon L, 04 Juillet 2018

A place that keeps it simple and meets a business traveller's needs. I was there only on a short trip so I can't speak too much about extra amenities but it was clean and my stay was comfortable. Also, good location as it's pretty close, yet quiet, to the main road and not far from the water.

"Just OK!"
Patpett, 10 Juin 2018

Terrible traffic from Victoria to this place! Lobby under construction and no restrooms off the lobby! The annex is new and clean but just another motel. It's a shame when the remodel could have so much better! The Resturant next door is a Denny's in Canada....the plastic menu is about like the food...medicore! All in all I wish it was a better experience!

"Convenient Motel Close to Airport"
mms481120, 28 Mai 2018

This was a decent place to stay for 2 nights. We stayed the night before a road trip to Tofino and then stayed the night before we flew home. It has been recently remodeled and rooms are clean. The bathroom has only a toilet and tub/shower and 2 sinks located outside the bathroom. No hooks by the sinks to hand toiletry bags. The a/c kept shutting off in the night and the room got very hot. We had issues checking out, changed method of payment and was charged twice. Had to return to have it fixed. Ok for a short stay in Sidney.

"Convenient hotel to BC Ferry terminal"
Peggy S, 21 Mai 2018

Stayed overnight on our way to Vancouver. Recently renovated room with great new bathroom with 2 separate sinks made it very easy for 2 women to get ready at the same time! Very comfortable room and bed. Hotel had gym and complimentary breakfast that we missed because we had to leave to get early ferry. Would recommend and would stay again

"Excellent location "
starlitsky3311, 20 Mai 2018

Close to the highway that goes to Victoria and the airport. Staff was very courteous and the room was comfortable clearly newly renovated, bathroom was spotless. Appreciated the Keurig machine in the room and also 25% off Smitty's breakfast coupon!

"Excellent accommodations!"
headingsouth4690, 13 Mai 2018

We were very pleased with the hotel, our room and the staff! They were very accommodating of our dogs. Good location, comfortable bed, clean bathroom and appreciated the coffee/tea in room! Great internet! Helpful staff!

"Very clean, newly remodeled"
Wes-cbwb, 13 Mai 2018

We stayed here for quick access to Victoria airport for an early morning flight. The room was spotless. The hotel is very close to the airport. the property is nicely landscaped. The room was extremely quiet. We would stay at this hotel again.

"No Breakfast at the Hotel"
denlin, 11 Mai 2018

We try to stay at hotels that provide a breakfast just to save time. This breakfast did not provide breakfast. For the price, we felt that there should have been a breakfast. Also, when we called to reserve, we were told that there was only one room left. When we arrived, I asked about them being full and they said that they weren't really. Not sure why we were told that we had the last room. Cancellations?

"Overnight in Sydney by the Sea"
Patrick M, 10 Mai 2018

The hotel is easy to get to and close to everything. The rooms are spacious and the bed very comfortable. There is a mall across the street if you need anything. You get a 25% discount at Smitty's for breakfast.

"Excellent staff, lovely clean room"
Dawne M, 03 Mai 2018

We enjoyed our stay here, it was only one night, but their staff were excellent, especially Natasha, the room was spacious, clean, the bathroom has just been remodelled and was beautiful, sparkling clean and bright. They have their TV's, which are large, set on a high dresser so you can see the screen when laying in bed, wish all hotels would do this. The attached restaurant was close to our room, where again staff were very friendly, Dave was our server and was very accommodating, a an excellent young man.

"Superb Value Excellent Location"
Scott K, 01 Avril 2018

Newly renovated hotel in the heart of Sidney BC walking distance to anything and everything, quick jaunt to the highway for travel. Comfortable beds, super clean rooms, friendly staff, great security, plenty of parking!

"Great Hotel near Victoria Airport"
Dennis C, 10 Janvier 2018

Great accommodation, adjacent restaurant, near all amenities. Excellent staff, very willing to help. Helped in every way possible. Food and staff at the restaurant were very pleasant and the supper was delicious. Highly recommend.

"Close to Victpria Airport"
Shirley H, 07 Janvier 2018

We have stayed here before - great service, clean, comfortable rooms, close to the airport & attached to a restaurant .... what more could you ask for. We didn't have good luck with our dinner order at Smitty;s (could be a new cook??) but we returned for breakfast and the food/service - both excellent.

"Clean, comfortable, friendly"
ganddoutoftown, 04 Janvier 2018

We had a one-night stay after arriving late evening at Victoria airport. This hotel was perfect for Downtown Sidney, close to stores and Information Centre. Staff were friendly and room was very comfortable and spacious. Hotel is a little dated but super clean and very comfortable bed. Good on-site parking. Restaurant in adjoining building with a % discount off great breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

"Sidney visit"
KerriD26, 31 Décembre 2017

We stayed at the Best Western Emerald Isle in Sidney BC for the night of Dec 30. We had a queen suite, with 2 queen beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. Room amenities included a microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. The room was clean and very large, which was great for our family of four. The reception area and halls were also nicely appointed, clean and appeared to have new carpeting. I think their website photos of the exterior of the hotel make it look a little nicer than the building is in reality - it looks more like a motel than a hotel. However, for a motel-style accommodation, it was fine inside. Location is great as you're in the middle of town, walkable to stores, restaurants and the ocean. It's not a fancy place, but functional and met our needs - I would stay there again.

"Last minute selection near the ferry terminal"
DaQi, 29 Décembre 2017

Was on a trip with the family and we needed somewhere to stay close to the ferry terminal in Sidney. This place came up in our search so we decided to stay here. It was a bit strange to find the place as it wasn't very clear from the street and we ended up going around the block a couple times before getting in. The main building was undergoing renovation so we were at the second building which didn't look like a hotel but more like an Irish pub. Anyway, the room was clean and very spacious so we were happy. I was a bit worried about security in the parking lot as it seemed a bit open but we had no problem. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but offers a generous discount at the Smitty's restaurant at the front of the building so we had breakfast there. All in all an okay experience considering we didn't have high expectations on arrival we were pleasantly surprised.

"very nice"
Jessica R, 25 Décembre 2017

The room was very spacious and clean and the staff was very friendly, my only complaint is we got put in the room closest to the entry to the restaurant which could get a little noisy at times. I would stay here again though.

"Great spacious rooms great front desk"
Simpsons7519, 21 Décembre 2017

We stayed here for business, my room was very nice with a comfortable bed. Super spacious room with coffee and tea and a station for your smart phone. Price was great and you can walk everywhere! Free wifi and parking too. Quick to get to and from the airport. You won't be disappointed, so many restaurants and shops on this street and don't miss going to Victoria Distillers! Try the amazing purple gin! Empress 1908. We ate at Haros on the waterfront, super good food and wonderful servers!

"Best Western Plus Emerald Isle"
carolNaniamo, 21 Décembre 2017

Friendly, professional and very helpful Staff . Hotel was Clean, quiet, close to Victoria Airport. Breakfast excellent and staff very helpful as we where there during a major snow storm!! Note what do I have to trample on at great length when a few words are much easier to comprehend and remember

"Not finding Peace and Quiet in Sidney"
Brigitte H, 20 Décembre 2017

Unfortunately this hotel is situated near the Pat Bay Hwy and Beacon Ave, the main street in Sidney, and one exit away from Victoria Airport. Between the vehicle and airplane noise from outside, it just isn't quiet. As well, my husband said he could hear the people in the next room talking, which makes me wonder what makes this a BW 'Plus' property. Also, I had asked the person at the desk when making the reservation, whether this room was quiet and near the back of the property away from Beacon Ave. He said 'yes', but that wasn't the case, and this was the only room available. We never received an email confirmation for the reservation. It certainly wasn't up to the standard of other BW Plus properties we have stayed in. Unlike most Best Westerns, breakfast is not included. You receive a 25% off coupon for the Smitty's next door, which we didn't use. We would definitely look for something quieter next time.

"Clean and Comfortable"
ccg399, 18 Décembre 2017

I've stayed at this location for work for 7 weeks throughout the year. I have only stayed in the Pavillion (not in the main hotel). The staff are friendly and down-to-earth...the rooms are a bit older but extremely clean. The main hotel is undergoing a face-lift which will only add to this property. I've enjoyed all my stays and can speak with confidence that you will too.

"late arrival to a very nice and quiet room"
Peter S, 17 Décembre 2017

I almost always stay here when I have to stay over in Sidney. There are other choices--some decent places too, but the amenities, staff and the view when you finally get up (I often arrive late at night), is wonderful. Nice restaurant if you get there earlier in the day, but make reservations, as it gets pretty busy.

"Pleasant Stay"
dawnhankins, 05 Décembre 2017

What a lovely hotel the Best Western Plus is. We were greeted by a friendly lady on the front desk who kindly helped us with our questions regarding the facility and surrounding area. My husband had forgotten his dress pants and the staff were very good at explaining the nearest stores to buy more. We found the hotel very clean and the bed was so comfortable. As a Platinum member it sure was lovely to get the upgrade to a suite! Totally enjoyed the jetted tub! A real treat.

"2nd Visit here.."
heeter_lyn23, 11 Novembre 2017

This was our second stay at the Emerald Isle Best Western. As before, our room was clean and comfortable. Easy, friendly check in, restaurant next door. Comfortable squishy bed. Amenities. Close 5 min drive to the airport. Would stay here again.

"Excellent hotel, modern, clean, and very comfortable"
MaxFubar, 01 Novembre 2017

We happened onto this hotel by a Google search, needing a hotel for one night close to the Victoria Airport. What a great find! Not only convenient but very clean, modern and pleasant. The room (306) was very nicely equipped and overall comfort was outstanding. We were so impressed that we commented to ourselves that on our next trip to visit greater Victoria, we would stay here as a base even though it's a small trip into the city center. Great value and total comfort here. A++

"Best Western Plus Emerald Isle Hotel"
777aprilm, 30 Octobre 2017

Fantastic stay with all of the amenities! Loved everything about the hotel! Great service, comfortable room! Right across street from Mary Winspear Conference Center and did not get in car until leaving as it was a 15 minute walk to waterfront as well. Will be back!!

"Great, convenient hotel"
bunnis67, 24 Octobre 2017

Although we only stayed one night, we would surely return. Room was very clean and well appointed. The convenience of a restaurant attached to the building (on a wet Sidney day) was a great convenience. It's proximity to the airport was also very convenient.

"Perfect place to stay"
Rena L, 23 Octobre 2017

If you are visiting Victoria, or the surrounding area on Vancouver Island, this is a perfect place to stay. I stay there regularly and prefer it to all the alternative hotels and places to stay. It is a 20 minute drive to downtown Victoria, but worth the drive. It is in beautiful Sidney, British Columbia a lovely and elegant town. Very close to the airport and to The Butchart Gardens. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Fair Value; will stay again."
jonnyg970, 22 Octobre 2017

The beds; mattress and bedding best I have have had in a while in this price range. Clean and Nice. Minor issues in room if I'm picky. Slept Well. Location in Sidney is ideal for the walking around, and the airport.

"Average and Needs an Update"
haithama285, 22 Octobre 2017

There aren't many hotels in the area close to the airport so this was the ideal spot. The rooms are clean and the staff is polite. The check-in is relatively fast which is important. The hotel is old and there are 2 buildings. The hotel is 2 stories and made up of wood structure so if someone above you decides to jump up and down (which has happened) then you will have to sit and hear it all. Overall its a good hotel. Don't eat at the Smitty's restaurant attached to the hotel though.

"Good hotel close to the airport and a lovely town"
Lynn H, 17 Octobre 2017

This is a great hotel if you want to explore the town of Sidney near the Victoria airport. Victoria is just over half an hour away by bus and the ferry is close by. Sidney is a cute little town with lots of shops and restaurants. A great place for a vacation.

"Excellent Hotel"
cmorrico, 15 Octobre 2017

Excellent hotel in Sidney . Very clean, comfortable and close to everything. Room was comfortable and affordable . The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is no reason to go all the way to Victoria to sleep !

"Lovely cozy Inn"
891yvonnel, 13 Octobre 2017

Very clean, excellent service. In the centre of Sidney by the sea. The beds were very comfortable, The furniture appeared to be new, good size TV. Dogs are welcome, they were treated very well. The restaurant was very close, excellent for breakfast.

"Nice Hotel"
julievF5461XI, 06 Octobre 2017

This is a nice hotel is a little bit older but was very clean and well maintained. Its location was close to the airport, shopping and a few restaurants. The staff was very helpful and knew the area well.

"Great stay"
hiarara, 05 Octobre 2017

Nice Hotel in a beautiful little city. In waökin distance from the sea. We where in the Killarny house. Clean and spacious rooms. With a Keurig coffee maker! Comfy beds! Friendly stuff. We've got 25% off coupons for the Breakfast in the restaurant beside rhe hotel. Would stay there again as everything is in walking distance

"well appointed"
Dave W, 05 Octobre 2017

small but very efficient lobby. Newspaper available. Very comfortable and secure - - when was waiting there, began reading newspaper, but so relaxed, just dosed off for 15. Room has king bed, best one comfortwise that we have had. Smitty's does a great job serving BW customers breakfast.

"Great location, excellent staff"
PartagasCat, 02 Octobre 2017

Walk to the water, check out the shops. Super staff-helpful for recommendations, wake up calls, ideas for an evening out. Quiet, clean, great location-thanks for all the help. Conveniently located to shopping, dining, coffee, etc.

"Another successful experience"
Sheena B, 01 Octobre 2017

I always stay at this hotel when visiting Sidney and Victoria. I know I will have excellent accomodation with helpful, professional staff and it is a great location to enjoy the delightful town of Sidney.

"Excellent service and quality"
Winnie S, 01 Octobre 2017

This is a really great hotel. I would rate it as a "15" out of "10" because it was so good! The rooms are very clean and very quiet. The hotel staff were all very helpful. There is a really nice exercise room and a guest laundry room as well. Even though there is an airport a few miles away, we never heard any planes. There is a restaurant on-site for breakfast and lunch but not for dinner. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel. We will definitely stay here again if we are back to Vancouver Island for a vacation. It is about 30 minutes from Victoria but very easy to get to and to get to the Schwartz Bay ferries.

"Clean and quiet"
chantalsE4065SJ, 28 Septembre 2017

This hotel is outdated in decor, but clean and quiet for a good nights rest. There is no continental breakfast, which was disappointing, but the hotel is attached to a Smitty's restaurant. WE were also disappointed there was no pool or much for the kids to do besides watch tv. The in room internet was fair, the kids couldn't watch netflix on their devices as it wouldn't load. But the beds were comfortable.

"Good value"
Janice S, 26 Septembre 2017

The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful. The location is excellent. It is conveniently located next to a restaurant. The in-room coffee maker was appreciated. I also liked that it had a monitor with upcoming airline flights to check on your flight status.

"Good holiday"
X8762ODbrendap, 25 Septembre 2017

Clean, quiet, and comfortable with very attentive staff that saw to our every need. They were helpful on places to eat and what was within walking distance of the hotel. I would encourage anyone who did not wish to stay in Victoria to check this place out

"Vacation"
michaelcH4970TY, 23 Septembre 2017

We are Diamond Best Western guests and were given a very nice upgrade without asking. The room was large and clearly had been upgraded. Smitttys restaurant was nice for breakfast. We were given a 25% discount. Having breakfast at the hotel would have been much more convenient but certainly not a problem. Would recommend this hotel as well stay there again. Very close to Ferry.

"Spotless"
VictoriaSAlly, 22 Septembre 2017

Had the opportunity to visit with friends in the beautiful Sydney BC. When there the Best Western is my go to hotel. It is a prefect location with walking distance to everything. A big shout out to the housekeeping crew as always my room was spotless. Had a terrific sleep - super comfy bed with the gym just down the hall for easy access in the morning. I will return.

"Good basic lodging "
Bonelltravell2, 21 Septembre 2017

Had a good stay with Best Western in what proved to be a good location in downtown Sidney that has good proximity to highway 17. Easy walking distance to the wonderful waterfront and shops that Sidney has to offer. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well staffed. My only concern was that the windows that are dated and I was able to hear street noise in what is a quiet community.

"Poor service; room ok"
LeannaRamma, 20 Septembre 2017

Rooms are dated but clean. No extra blankets available in the room. Poor front desk service. Clerk was not friendly during check-in and was unable to provide any recommendations for late night (9pm) food options in the area. Please add these sorts of recommendations to clerk training and/or talking points.

"Feedback on the BW Plus Emerald Island Hotel"
markcP1604AC, 20 Septembre 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. Location close to the Victoria airport and the fact that a low cost, excellent restaurant was on site were just what we needed after an 11 day stay on Vancouver Island.

"Close to Sidney-Anacortes Ferry"
Connie D, 19 Septembre 2017

The great thing about this room is that we had a living room separate from our bedroom...totally unexpected! We were pleased that there were actually wine glasses in the room. The bed was very comfortable...great pillows! The bathroom was a bit strange with a corner shower that wasn't extremely user friendly. There was a jacuzzi style tub should that be your thing. There were 2 separate sinks on either side of the door going into the shower/tub/toilet room, making it easy for 2 people to get ready at the same time. We walked easily from the hotel to the beach with lots of shopping and eateries along the way. We found a couple of places where we could pick up breakfast and lunch sandwiches the next morning to take on the Ferry back to the States. For the price and location, the price was very reasonable.

"first class"
brucehG4275HI, 19 Septembre 2017

Great location with friendly staff. Smitty's Restaurant adjoining the hotel is a bargain with the hotel discount. Lots of good restaurants nearby and the bookstores should be viewed as candy stores. Great stay.

"Trip to BC"
christinag42, 14 Septembre 2017

Was a great hotel - clean and breakfast was great at Smittys. They also stored our fish that we caught in the walk in freezer in the restaurant. Was in a great location in the city, close to the shore and lots of other stores and restaurants.

"Disappointing"
Wantoroam, 11 Septembre 2017

This is a refurbished older building whose age is evident. Small bathroom, tiny vanity, very noisy window air conditioner. Poor parking with no CCTV and many parking stalls behind trees. Expensive compared to better Best Western properties in other cities. The bed was OK and the room was very clean. There is no complementary breakfast and a 25% discount at an adjacent restaurant.

"Delightful Hotel"
PandJRS2014, 11 Septembre 2017

We have stayed here many times - that speaks volumes! It is perfectly placed for everything you would like to do in this very pretty little town. Everyone is friendly and helpful, it offers a guest laundry, and gym. There is a restaurant adjoining which offers 25% discount from breakfast for hotel guests and a delightful natural food shop opposite offering fabulous home cooked food, hot and cold. This was a new addition to the area since our last visit and we loved it. Plenty of eating places around.

"Great hotel"
Y1255ITrachelr, 05 Septembre 2017

perfect location, easy walking distance to ocean, shops & cafe's. short driving distance to ferry terminal and airport clean, big rooms, ample off-road parking. Nice fitness room, although no swimming pool.

"Hotel stay"
Blondi63, 30 Août 2017

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel lobby was a bit dated. We have stayed at many Best Western Plus hotels and always found the price reasonable! This hotel in my opinion was overpriced and did not even include a breakfast. They did say we could get 25% off at the restaurant next door but it didn't open until 7 and we had to be at the airport at 7:30. It was ok for one night but found out the hotel on the waterfront was the same price!!

"Wow! Lovely find"
Keshet50, 29 Août 2017

Super staff and hotel was clean as a whistle . We will stay again . The hotel has loads of parking, is close to the airport. And great restaurants. As an expat, I am always on the hunt for places to stay to recommend to my friends here in the UK.

"overpriced"
Gordon P, 25 Août 2017

This hotel is very overpriced for what thy offer. No Breakfast provided, but 25% discount at Smitty's, which was closed when we arrived at 8:00pm and not open when we left at 7:00pm Rooms are 70's and bathroom very small. The staff were all very friendly and treated my Pomeranian very nicel.

"This hotel needs some upgrades"
JP_Traveller5, 24 Août 2017

We stayed 4 nights for a wedding in Saanich. The room was comfortable but the plumbing and fan were noisy and sometimes woke me up. The room was not made up until very late in the day, even the day we put out the card asking for it to be cleaned. There was no screen on the window. As a result we had some bugs in the room, including one in the bed. The front desk staff were helpful and very friendly. This hotel needs some upgrades.

"Best Western Sidney"
605jackeyl, 21 Août 2017

Very clean. Nice suite, loved having a kitchen. Within easy walking distance of the ocean front so was nice to go for a stroll along the pier and sea wall. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance as well as grocery stores, etc. Would definitely stay again.

"Very NIce Stay"
Patricia B, 17 Août 2017

We stayed two nights at the end of a trip since we wanted to see Sidney and be close to the airport. The room was very nice and comfortable and the staff was great. It was an easy walk to shops and restaurants.

"Lovely Best Western in Great Location"
Mamawcupcake, 14 Août 2017

We spent two nights here and we were very pleased with our accommodations. The room was spotless and the bathroom was clean as well. The location is perfect to walk to shops and restaurants in Sidney and is near Butchart Gardens. Victoria is about 30 minutes away. Very happy with our stay here.

"Best Western Plus"
christiemarchant, 14 Août 2017

Excellent room. Staff courteous and helpful. We had asked for an early check-in, if possible, as we had travelled a long distance, and with the time difference were very tired. They couldn't promise, but said they would do their best. When we arrived, the room was ready.

"The bed was FANTASTIC...too bad there was only ONE of them.....Grrrrr"
HeyNow-Hank, 12 Août 2017

I'm a Best Western Rewards member and reserved a room with 2 queen beds. While checking in, I asked about the room and was only THEN informed that the 2nd queen bed was actually a hide-a-bed. Thankfully, my 15 year-old thought the pull-out couch was cool, but an adult would have been IRATE if they had to sleep on that old uncomfortable thing. As far as i'm concerned, this was a classic BAIT & SWITCH by this hotel, so I will be unable to consider them in the future. As we walked into the rear building, a fellow was steam cleaning the hallway carpet. I asked him about it, and he told me they do it annually. In my opinion, to CLEAN a hotel hallway carpet only ONCE a year doesn't seem to cut it. The next day, I could see that the carpet was still full of permanent stains and is almost ready to be retired. The carpet cleaning must have got rid of the musty odor some other reviewers have mentioned, as the hallway and room both smelled fresh throughout our stay. The room carpet was clean but basic, and the bathroom and the rest of the LARGE room was kept very clean throughout our stay. The king bed was wonderful, while my son's hide-a-bed was ancient. As mentioned earlier, he had no complaints. A fridge and microwave were included in the room. WiFi and A/C were very good. My conference rate was C$161, which I felt was good considering they were quoting rack rates well above C$200 during a very busy time of year. I would only stay again if traveling solo or with my wife.

"Best hotel in Sidney"
brianmS2025VA, 08 Août 2017

Courteous, helpful staff, close to all amenities, short walk to waterfront. Short drive to Victoria airport, Butchart Gardens and Victoria. Rooms very clean and quiet. Would stay there again. The suites were large, very clean and very accommodating. Nice having the attached restaurant for breakfast and service was great and the food as well, especially the pancakes for the children.

"Go elsewhere"
TigerSouthCarolina, 07 Août 2017

So disappointing! This is a "plus" Best Western and that is totally NOT the case. The hotel is old... the rooms have NOT been updated. The bathrooms are from the 1990's or earlier. We were booked for 3 nights and left after 1. Lobby is old AND even though we paid a HUGE price, this hotel does NOT provide the usual "hotel breakfast buffet". Instead, they give you a coupon for 25% off at an adjacent chain. This voucher might equate to $3-4 dollars to the hotel guest... SHAME on you Best Western!

"Excessive NOISE"
Brucester81, 07 Août 2017

12:45 to 04:00 doors slamming, loud inebriated talking. No acoustic seals on doors. No attempt of staff to quell the noise of the guests. The hotel was fully booked and the staff had to turn away additional guests. Perhaps over confidence led to ambivalent attitude.

"Great place to stay near the airport."
Julie L, 06 Août 2017

Nice health food store connected to the parking lot. Beds very comfortable. Nice large room. Bathroom a bit small. Clean non-smoking rooms. Staff nice. Reception area could be modernized. We like the carpeting in the halls.

"Lovely hotel in a very pretty town"
lindacW439XA, 03 Août 2017

We were extremely happy with the location of the hotel. Everything was great. Also, the room was much larger than expected and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay here again if we visited the island.

"Headin to the airport"
164rick, 03 Août 2017

Hotel was nice, staff was friendly. Nice fitness center, although, could use a fan. Harbour is a short walk away and there is ample places for food and shopping within 5 minutes. Air conditioning in the room was a unit that sat in the room and the room was either a little warm or just right when the air came on. Bed was really, really, really soft! Not comfortable at all.

"Great location...close to the airport"
Tam L, 29 Juillet 2017

We stayed here on our way back home. There are many shops, grocery stores and restaurants in walking distance. The room we had was in the adjacent building...404. It is the newer building and I would recommend asking for that location when you book. They do not allow pets in that building. I'm not sure about the main facility. The airport was less than 10 minutes away.

"great location away from the city"
JohnnyG28, 23 Juillet 2017

Walking around Sidney is what it used to be in Victoria, nice shops, interesting history and a great water front without all the hustle and bustle and other issues downtown Victoria has to offer. Lots of places to eat, and great local beers too.

"Love the Room Layouts"
Ed N, 16 Juillet 2017

My wife, my son, daughter and their spouses were impressed with the way rooms were designed. We all had a very pleasant and quite stay. Even when we arrived late (because of the Fireworks Show at Bucharts Garden Saturday Evening), the staff was very friendly and accommodating. This was even the case when we left a little beyond the check out time. I now know where we will be staying if we ever again decide to vacation in the southern part of Vancouver Island.

"Pleasant hotel rigIt on Beacon Street"
mike r, 11 Juillet 2017

Beacon Street is the center of Sidney -- plenty of restaurants, shops, etc., and this hotel is at the end of Beacon, about 5 blocks from the harbor. The staff is pleasant and helpful (hey, it's Canada!) and the rooms are comfortable.

"Centrally located..."
Merry D, 10 Juillet 2017

This hotel consists of two separate buildings, the receptionist is in the older wing. We were given the room in the newer building. The room is clean, interior is fine, nice couch and good matrass. However, the receptionist staff who checked us in was not friendly and un-welcoming. We were tired from driving for 3 hours and we received a poor reception. She could have been more professional as the front-liner because guest's first impressions of the Hotel is from the Receptionist staff. The check-out staff was good though. Hotel location is centrally located.

"Business"
E8174NSstephenm, 10 Juillet 2017

Only stayed one night but it was great. Very friendly staff and a very clean hotel. I appreciated the breakfast place next door. I would come back with my family in a heartbeat if I can ever take a vacation!

"Convenient"
Sherrill R, 09 Juillet 2017

The Emerald Isle is conveniently located and clean. Beds are super comfy and rooms well set up. They were able to store our bicycles overnight which allowed us to jump on the trail to the ferry first thing in the morning. Staff were helpful.

"Wonderful Stay"
smartgirl34, 01 Juillet 2017

Stayed here for 3 nights in June. First two nights were in the building opposite the lobby. We had a double queen room on the lower level as we had our son with us. I was at first hesitant as I always stay on the upper floor of hotels to avoid overhead noise. I must say I was pleasantly surprised all the way around. The room was spacious and very clean. The beds were super comfy. Hubby and I have a king bed at home and I was worried it would be cramped in the queen bed but it wasn't. The bathroom was very nicely set up with the toilet and tub/shower in one part and on the outside two separate sinks and mirrors. There was a fridge and microwave and new flat screen tv. There was a computer desk and chair, also very nice and comfortable. There were also two very comfortable queen anne type chairs with a small table and lamp near the window. Even though the Hotel was full there was very minimal noise from the room above us and no noise whatsoever from the rooms beside us. There was a laundry room which I appreciated. The hallways were super clean and the air in the building as well as our room was clean and fresh. Super loved our stay for the first two nights. The third night was a bit of a different experience but still not too bad. I asked for a king room as it was just Hubby and I for the third nights stay. None were available but they did have a king suite and I was able to get the suite with a complimentary upgrade as I am a gold card member. The suite was not in the same building we stayed in the first two nights but in the building where the Hotel lobby is. I will list the pros and cons of our last nights stay: Pros -- Suite was very spacious and had a separate bedroom for the king bed which was also spacious. Very nice windows lining the room with pretty curtains. Separate living area with table and chairs for eating and a table/couch in the living room part. Also a computer desk and chair. Kitchen with a full stove and fridge and all the dishes and utensils needed for cooking/meals. . Cons: Bathroom was a similar set up to the one we had in the other building except the space for the toilet and tub was much smaller and older and the room itself was much older and worn. The bed while comfy was old and the mattress sagged abit. The kitchen cupboards are old and worn and smelled musty. Stove was older as well. The main part of the room (where the kitchen and living area is) had a very strong musty moldy odor. I put on the air conditioner but it too had a musty smell. I opened the windows and this helped somewhat but the smell was again noticeable upon closing the windows. I went to the front desk and advised of the unpleasant odor in the room. The lady at the front admitted that this side of the Hotel is older and suggested I open the windows or use the air conditioner. I advised that I had but it did not help. I asked for another room but unfortunately all they had left was a room with 1 queen bed and in the same building. I would stay here again but would not stay in the building where the lobby is. The building across from the lobby is newer and much cleaner and smells great and the beds are much more comfortable. I was quite disappointed to get an upgrade and find out the upgraded room was not as nice as the regular room I had the night before. Other than not being happy with the room on our last night everything else was great. The grounds are quite nice with plenty of flowers and shrubs which are very well tended. The lady's at the desk were very nice and helpful and I appreciate that they did their very best to accommodate my room requests.

"Mount Vernon, Washington"
Heidi B, 28 Juin 2017

Great hotel tucked away in Mount Vernon. Easy access. Grand hotel /conference centre. Walked in to the cozy lobby with fragrance of home baked chocolate chip cookies. These guys sure know how to greet their guests. Room was good and slept well on comfy bed.

"Lacking amenities for a BW "Plus""
Adam R, 28 Juin 2017

Arrived in town for a weekend garden seminar and tour, decided to stay at the BW Plus as we normally find them fairly consistent. Ended up paying $183.03 (CND) per night for a sub-standard experience. The room itself wasn't bad, it was a ground floor room with a stand alone upright air conditioner in the corner...have you ever tried to sleep with one of these running? Pretty loud, but as it ended up being the hottest June 23/25 on record, we were happy that there was at least air conditioning. The room had two queen beds, a microwave and bar fridge, and a kurig coffee maker, no problems there. Then there was the bathroom, there things really took a turn for the worse, there was a closet on one side of the bathroom entry, and a sink and TINY counter on the opposite side, barely room for anything and certainly not enough for two women sharing a room. Upon entering the bathroom proper (after asking the person at the sink to stand aside lest she get hit by the door) your olfactory (smell) senses were assaulted by the stench of old cigarette smoke. Quick trip to the outside door to the room to confirm that it was a non-smoking room (indeed it was) and back in to try and determine where the smell came from....never was determined. The tub/toilet were side by side, barely room to turn around, the plus side was that if you fell over in the shower you wouldn't hit the floor, you'd be wedged against the tub and wall instead. We asked for new towels in the hopes that they were the stinky problem, in 3 days we never received them, nor the ozone generator to run, nor was the almost blocked, very slow flushing toilet addressed - we did ask more than once, nope, still didn't happen (we were exceptionally polite...we are both Canadian after all) This hotel offers you a percentage off your meals at the attached Restaurant, there is no meeting area, no gym, no pool, but pets are allowed - for those of you familiar with Rodger Miller's "King of the road". The location was excellent, close to everything, the room was adequate but in my humble opinion, overpriced with a bathroom in need of a renovation.

"near the airport"
mollymelanie, 28 Juin 2017

Our flight arrived in the Victoria airport fairly late, so we wanted a hotel that was close for the first night of our vacation. The best western was just that. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy, and the front desk was very helpful. Good breakfast at the restaurant on site. we were given a 25% off voucher upon check in. Have no complaints.

"Buyer beware"
Roadmaster31, 27 Juin 2017

We booked this property along with other Best Western hotels via the Best Western web site for our 10 week road trip from Australia through Canada. All other hotels quoted Canadian $ and we wrongly assumed this would be the same. On arrival, our rate had increased significantly as the reception informed us that the rate quoted was in USD. All of the other Best Western hotels were in Canadian. We could have booked elsewhere for better value. We now understand Best Western Plus means it's PLUS $ if you want breakfast because you have to pay for that and it's PLUS $ exchange rate cause we charge you in USD no matter what country the hotel is located. WE WILL REVIEW OUT HOTEL OPTIONS FOR THE REST OF OUR TRIP.

"Sidney Plant Study Weekend"
semiretired46, 27 Juin 2017

This hotel was very good aside from the fact that I had to have my room key re-keyed 5-6 times during my stay. The location near to the conference center was great. And, I enjoyed staying in Sidney rather than in Victoria. The town is very small and easy to navigate.

"Great place to stay"
Cynthia K, 22 Juin 2017

Great location, nice property, nice people. Wonderful room, needs an extra bar on shower to help with easy access but loved the bathroom and tub. Very clean, comfortable bed extra chairs and a fireplace! Very convenient to Victoria, Butchart Gardens and other activities.

"a place to stay on a beautiful island"
N8349CMmichaelt, 22 Juin 2017

This hotel is very clean, everything working properly & neatly placed in room, washer/dryer avail. beautifully blooming flowers around property, great restaurant (which can be accessed fm within hotel), good location to Buchart Gardens, Town of Victoria about 20 miles south, Duncan & beautiful port of Naniano north, the nice water front of Sidney just blocks away - very good place to stay for vacation or business.

"Grounds Are Beautiful"
Vicky L, 22 Juin 2017

This is a well run property. Fairly modern decor. Our front desk gal at check in was a gem. Room was clean and quiet. We stayed two nights. Bed was comfy and towels fluffy. Great location since you can walk to restaurants, shopping and if you want to catch buses to sites (butterfly/insect garden and/or Butchart Gardens) or south to Victoria

"Very good place to stay in Sidney."
George J, 21 Juin 2017

We enjoyed the one bedroom suite. It had all we needed for our four night stay. The location was handy to groceries. The suite was big enough for entertaining. The only opportunity for improvement I found was the Internet connection. It would bounce in and out. It would allow emails to be received but would not send them. I had to go out and find a WiFi connection in order to send emails. We enjoyed being right downtown close to the restaurants and bookstores.

"Pleasure Trip"
RetiredXray, 21 Juin 2017

This hotel is a fine place to stay away from downtown Victoria. The check in receptionist was very friendly, courteous, & professional. The suite we had was clean with all amenities in good working order. The bed & pillows were to our liking. There was no noise heard. The experience at this hotel was very pleasing and would definitely give a high recommendation to stay.

"My third stay at the "Emerald Isle" hotel"
PapaHow, 15 Juin 2017

This hotel is well situated on Beacon Avenue (Sidney's main street) , close to many of the necessities you find a need for when travelling (Pharmacy, Grocery store, Gas station, etc.) The hotel has laundry facilities in the Killarney building (across the parking lot from where you check in). The staff are very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Arriving early is not recommended as the cleaning staff have a very regimented way in doing the rooms in a particular order. This is not a reason to avoid this facility, rather just advance notice. The hotel is extremely comfortable and caters to many choices of room style, pricing is about average for the better hotels in the area. Lots to see and do in the area and just a half hour drive to Victoria. There is a great local inexpensive bus service to the city if you don't want to drive. The front desk are happy to provide directions to the bus stop. You can walk to just about everywhere in Sidney. Close to the airport and ferry terminal from the B.C. mainland and also the Anacortes ferry in the USA.

"Nice Location"
Barbara W, 09 Juin 2017

My room was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be noisy guests at about 2:30 in the morning. I really appreciate being in walking distance of shopping and restaurants. I was able to walk to the water and enjoy the view from a small restaurant.

"Great location"
marjoriel658, 07 Juin 2017

We went primarily to see Butchart Gardens. The hotel was really well located near everything. We could walk to along the main street to the ocean and all the great restaurants and little shops. The drive to the Gardens was easy and well signed. The room was comfortable and had a lot of space.

"Feedback"
Sharan C, 06 Juin 2017

It was my first time in Victoria and I'm more than glad I chose this hotel for my stay! Was in such a convenient location -will defiantly come back. However the wifi would always disconnect me from BW. Besides that little error I enjoyed my stay!

"Would Stay again - business"
P1625WAcarolinel, 06 Juin 2017

Clean, large rooms. I stayed in the Killarney wing - room was large and had a soaker tub along with a shower. Shower was small and not a lot of room to stock shampoo/face wash/razors etc. The shower was slow to drain. The toilet was also a tad noisy. However these are small things to point out - I travel twice monthly for work and best westerns are always my first choice. The key words here are that it is CLEAN. Close to all amenities, including walking distance to Sidney Pier (restaurant right on the pier is fabulous), grocery store, shoppers drug mart and health food store along with the highway are right across the street! Smitty's restaurant is also attached to the main building and the hotel offers a 25% discount for breakfast from 7:30 - 10am. Wifi was great, lots of room to organize business files in the room as well. Iron, Kettle, fridge, microwave all in good working order and clean. Close to the airport, so can be a bit noisy.

"A Quick Stop"
poddyBritishColumbia, 04 Juin 2017

An excellent, convenient location for a stop over to and from Victoria International Airport. No shuttle however. Some rooms are pet friendly but a separate building does not permit pets. Works for everyone. Sidney is a book town so if time to spare there are a number of good book stores.

"A very uncomfortable stay."
levi51, 31 Mai 2017

Way too expensive for the lack of quality of this hotel! The room was dingy and dark black mold on the windows, pillows lumpy and uncomfortable, dirty carpets. originally I booked for 3 nights-after seeing the room I told them we would leave in the morning - they then charged us a lot more for the one night.

"Great Getaway DEAL!"
Rose S, 28 Mai 2017

My girlfriend and I needed a little getaway and it was last minute, as luck would have it, as we called to reserve for the night they had just got a cancelation. We took it and really glad we did. It was a busy weekend for tourist and each place we called were all booked. So we came in to the front desk, and right away, service was friendly and most helpful. They even changed our quoted rate and added 2 tickets to Buchart Gardens and shuttle both ways as part of the package. $125 VALUE! The hotel was perfectly clean (barefoot worthy), the room and bed was comfortable and had a greats night sleep. They have the Kuereg coffee maker and had plenty (6cups, 4 coffees and 2 teas). We didn't use any of the hotel amenities as we were out all day and into the night. Great location, not far from anything (15 minutes to airport and even less with the ferry). Restaurant I would recommend is Haro's. And walk along the sea boardwalk, it is so beautiful. I envy the people who live in this town and yet so close to Victoria. I would definitely come and stay here again.

"Good location for access to airport early"
shirleye565, 24 Mai 2017

WE chose this hotel for its location and that it was on the airmiles list. It was very clean and great for the overnight stay. A 5 minute drive or the shuttle to the airport, on the main street so accessable to many ammenities and walking distance, around 15 minutes to the ocean.

"Don't stay here unless you are prepared for poor customer service"
835kallyr, 24 Mai 2017

I was checked in to a dirty, unmade room. The beds were stripped of bedding & the previous clients checkout papers were on the desk. Once I advised the staff, they let me know there was no way. When they realized the error, they didn't even suggest to put me into a new room instead of waiting - I had to suggest it. Checking out, there was $100 noise fee put on my room. There was a large number of people in the hotel that weekend that had got noise complaints and written warnings. My room was not one of those rooms. When advised that was incorrect they said "the charge remains, it is what it is."

"Another Great Stay"
S8486YGdianeg, 04 Mai 2017

Our room was comfortable, quiet and private. We were on the Island to visit our mom who is in a care home. Since we no longer have a home base when we visit, we have found this hotel is the closest thing that meets and exceeds our needs every time.

"Great place to stay"
gbecker13, 29 Avril 2017

Great spot near the airport. Spacious room, decent work out room, friendly staff. About 30 minutes to downtown, but a nice enough drive. Handy to the ferry terminal as well. No breakfast included - but there is a Smittys next door.

"Lovely property!"
KathyRR4, 26 Avril 2017

Very comfortable and clean room. Great location - walking distance to waterfront and close proximity to the airport. Very quiet room. The room decor looked as though it had been recently remodelled and was very comfortable. Large screen tv in room was nice touch Would definitely stay at this property again if in the area.

"Good Location Near Ferry and Airport"
Lisa P, 25 Avril 2017

Arrived later in the evening so did not spend much time looking around the building. Staff was polite and efficient. Room was clean and beds were ok - loud plumbing noises from another room early in the morning woke us up (5 am) but we were staying there to be close to the ferry for an early morning boarding so not a big deal for us but would have been if we had wanted to sleep in. Definitely an older hotel but location and price made our stay very satisfactory.

"Good location and one of the cheaper options in town"
Thomsonbg, 19 Avril 2017

Although there has obviously been renovations done over the years it is hard to hide the age of the building. Not well lit rooms (gloomy) but they are a good size with comfortable beds. However the bathrooms are tiny. The noise from the hallways is very discernible. Parking is limited. Good location and was able to walk all the way down the Main Street to the pier and back easily. F you need a short stay place near town it is good. The air conditioning is only from a portable machine.

"Sidney By The Sea"
Daniel H, 09 Avril 2017

Excellent, central location only a few minutes from the ferry and the airport. Close to Victoria and the Trans Canada Highway. Lovely small town feel with an awesome waterfront. Will definitely recommend to others and we will stay here again.

"Sidney BC Best Western Vacation Stay"
Christine S, 08 Avril 2017

This is a very well-located Best Western in the town of Sidney On The Sea. Sidney is a very lovely town with much to do in it, with a relatively short drive down into Victoria. The Victoria International Airport is nearby as well. There are many beaches in the area, and a lot of hiking and camping possibilities. The Best Western was clean & quiet, with an attached Smitty's Restaurant. There are also many local and chain restaurants in the town, including a Tim Horton's and a Starbucks, Pizza Hut, MacDonald's etc. Sidney hosts the Salish Sea Aquarium, and in the summer, one can take a ferry over to the Salish Island Spit. Well worth the stay!

"Great place if you are flying out of Victoria airport or taking the ferry from Schwartz Bay"
Capnhi9er, 02 Avril 2017

We were flying out of Victoria and came a day early because it was supposed to snow over night and we didn't want to face the Malahat in the snow. Glad we did. Very pleasant hotel. Staff was prompt, friendly and helpful. We had the one bedroom suite on the ground floor. Marvelous. The room is spacious and comfortable and the beds are great. I couldn't believe all the electrical outlets. We travel with lots of devices and we plugged them all in and used less than half the outlets. It also has a Keurig coffee machine that makes wonderful coffee. (hint: if you drink it all up, you can get more in the lobby :) The hotel is right on the main street but because it runs back from the street it is very quiet. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. We had a good breakfast at Smitty's on site (not included in room price). Even in the snow it was only 10 minutes to the airport. We love flying out of Victoria airport. It was voted the best airport in North America for good reason. Next time we fly, we will stay here even if it is not going to snow.

"Great Location inSidney BC"
Sherrie B, 28 Mars 2017

Front desk staff very helpfuland friendly Rooms well appointed and the Park and Fly feature was great for us. Within Walking distance of all amenities and 5 minute cab ride to the airport which front staff made sure they had ordered for us:)

"Always Comfortable"
ccg399, 25 Mars 2017

I've stayed at the pavilion section of the hotel several times now. It's comfortable, always clean, large room, and quiet. In addition, they have the fitness room there and guest laundry...both are nice when on shift.

"Convenient comfortable place to stay near Victiria"
Eagle3775144, 14 Novembre 2016

We spend a couple of days in early October and found the Emerald Isle a convenient comfortable place to stay near Victoria and the ferries. The rooms are spacious with larger than usual bathrooms, comfortable beds, and the wi fi, TV etc worked very well. The B W offers a discount for breakfast at Smittys Restaurant however they close well before the supper hour. There are a couple of decent restaurants near by so it really was not an issue for us.

"Nearly the BEST"
Trent R, 13 Novembre 2016

Well maintained and comfortable rooms. Smitty's Restaurant adjoining with discounts for hotel patrons. Ask for a room away from the main street to insulate you from the early morning noise due to the nearby delivery traffic that came EVERY morning by 5:00 am.

"Nice room, clean hotel"
maitiemouse, 07 Novembre 2016

We stayed two nights during a recent visit to Victoria. We were very pleased with the room, it was roomy, clean and easy to access with our dog. We were provided with a microwave oven, mini fridge and coffee machine. Only complaint was the brand of coffee, but we roast our own, so maybe we are spoiled. We were pleased that rather than two beds we had a bed as well as a sofa for sitting on rather than depending on a bed to sit on. The TV was a bonus, not only did they know how to use HD, we got more channels then we have ever received at any hotel including the time shift channels allowing us to watch SNL at a reasonable hour. The movie channels were awesome as well. We were also pleased with the bathroom layout, with the toilet and bathtub separated from the sink and mirror so I could get ready while hubby was showering and he could shave while I showered. Bonus was a soap dish. It is so annoying when you don't have a soap dish and the soap gets slimey all over the sink counter. The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly and we were provided with a Globe and Mail for free, which was nice as we were away from home so could not print off our weekend crossword puzzle to do. The only complaints we had were that the hotel is in direct line of the airport, and we were woken early in the morning by the planes taking off and landing. The only other complaint was the woman in the room next door left her small yappy dog in the room, but the front desk promptly located the woman and reminded her pets are not to be left alone in the room. Neither of these complaints are a direct reflection on the hotel and were unavoidable. Smitty's is connected to the hotel and we were offered 25% off breakfast, which was nice. The meal was filling and service there was great.

"AWESOME HOTEL"
nickbJ5217CN, 01 Novembre 2016

The Emerald Isle in Sidney bc, is a great place to stay while you are on the island. Just 15/20min away from Victoria, it isn't far but not to close either, situated in a great little harbour town, with everything you could ever need on a visit & the airport is just 2min away The staff are very friendly & polite, room service / cleaning of rooms is to a very high standard, nothing is ever to much trouble I will never stay anywhere else when I'm on the island

"Excellent accommodations & Service"
Shirley H, 01 Novembre 2016

We fly to Victoria often to visit our son & family who live on the Island. We have stayed at different hotels in the area but none that compare to this. The service was excellent, accommodations above average and lots of FREE parking. It is located close to the airport and we received a coupon to enjoy breakfast at the attached restaurant. Sadly we had an early flight and couldn't take advantage of this nice perk. Highly recommend and will definitely make this our place to stay on all future visits.

"A great Host Hotel for a Conference in Sidney"
Margaret J, 31 Octobre 2016

I stayed at this hotel for the week end to attend a conference at the Mary Winspear Centre. I was able to literally walk across the street to attend the conference and leave my car parked. The BW was close to restaurants so again no need to drive. A great location for my needs.

"convenient hotel near the Victoria airport"
Karen R, 10 Octobre 2016

We chose this hotel because we had an early flight the next day out of Victoria airport (which is actually in Sidney). What a find! The hotel is on the main drag in Sidney, a lovely town with a beautiful harbor and many shops and restaurants. The hotel has a nice gym, and is well-appointed with wifi and coffee, etc. It looked like it had been recently updated. There are facilities to print boarding passes in the lobby, and the staff can help with ordering a cab for airport runs.

"Nice clean room, convenient location"
Rob C, 09 Octobre 2016

Although we only had a very quick overnight stay, the check-in was very quick and courteous and the room was very clean and tidy. The location was very close to the highway with easy access and plenty of parking. It is also conveniently located next to the gas station and places to get a quick bite to eat. Overall we felt that the hotel represented good value.

"Convenient Location"
Janice S, 01 Octobre 2016

The hotel is conveniently situated close to the airport and ferry terminals. The rooms are large and clean with appropriate amenities - fridge, coffeemaker, internet. There is a family restaurant attached to the hotel. A free breakfast is not included but you do get a 25% discount on breakfast in the restaurant. There is plenty of free parking. Overall, good value for the money.

"Nice hotel good location"
magdog17, 27 Septembre 2016

This little hotel is very clean and in a great location. Lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance. It is perfect location for people staying overnight for flights or for the ferry. We stayed in the extra wing they have and the rooms are clean and comfortable and it very quiet.

"You know what you are getting because they are consistently good"
Jeff J, 26 Septembre 2016

consistently good, you always know what you are getting and that makes choosing a hotel easy. I always stay at Best Westerns except when they are full and then I have to figure out where to stay. its like a home away from home.

"Okay stay.."
Gina B, 25 Septembre 2016

Overall an okay stay, have had better rates from superior hotels. The check in service and the pre-authorization process was not great. and Check out was worse .... I shouldn't have to explain how to close out a pre-auth.

"Met our expectations "
Oakley11, 24 Septembre 2016

The hotel meets the best western standards. Clean room, very friendly front desk staff. A smittys restaurant is on site. They are installing new lighting in the halls so while the electricians were working the halls were dirty but the halls were cleaned when we returned in the evening. Overall it was what we were expecting

"wonderful stay"
David S, 20 Septembre 2016

Our room was wonderful. It was clean, quite, an Oasis on a very busy trip. Location was perfect to walk to venues, dinning, and the harbour. Also close to the airport and ferry terminal. We will be back!

"Not going to try this one again"
Allan K, 19 Septembre 2016

An early departure from Vancouver Island made us decide to stay in Sidney for our last night. selected the Best Western from user reviews. The elevator had garbage in the floor upon arrival and it was still there in departure. The room had a strange smell to it. The air conditioner was a wall mount type and was very loud. Room was small. Cleanliness in the room was good. Overall however we will not return to this location.

"Stayed for family wedding"
S S, 18 Septembre 2016

After the wedding rehearsal we thought we could check in early, the girl at front desk says to call back at 2 to see what they can do, this was for the 1 out of 4 rooms we booked . We came back after doing some sight seeing from 11am it was now 3pm to ask if just one room is ready as we were very tired and needed a quick rest before the family bbq we had to be at by 4:30 which we were late for! They couldn't offer any rooms as they weren't ready. And was advised that check in is at 4pm. My husband had already taken all of our luggage out of the car at this point not knowing that we couldn't get a room yet. So we sat on the benches with our luggage outside waiting for 4 pm. We weren't too pleased with the fact that when we came in to ask for early check in they couldn't get one of those rooms ready by 2 or 3 pm as they knew we were from out of town. Once we finally got the room at 4 pm they actually had all 4 rooms ready well look at that , I guess they don't have early check in even if they had the rooms ready. Anyhow after all that the rooms were nice and clean and spacious, and modern. I would definitely stay there again knowing now for sure you can never check in early, you gotta wait till 4 pm. I was just happy to know that the rooms were very nice and clean and that was so important.

"good stay"
James W, 15 Septembre 2016

check-in was a little confusing as the clerks were unsure how to use points, but figured it out.the hotel itself looked very nice and the area we saw and stayed in was well maintained, both in and out.we were surprised that we had to use the restaurant next door for breakfast and had to pay for it. there was a 25% discount for being a hotel guest.the service was good and the food ok and over priced. everything else was just fine.

"good location - nice place for a couple of nights"
Jennifer V, 12 Septembre 2016

I like that it's near the ferry terminal and is walking distance to the waterfront which has some cool art and a short history walking tour BUT for the value paid, I wish the free breakfast was included rather than a discount to a restaurant. Anyways, the check in was easy, room was clean, beds somewhat comfortable (pillows a little flat), and the area is quiet at night. The Save-On-Foods grocery store across the street was convenient because a lot of restaurants we felt like eating were closed by the time we arrived via ferry so we got ramen bowls at this store (boiled water via microwave) and our cashier found out that we were visiting from out of town and gave us the club member's discount.

"Great Property"
HadleyKatie, 10 Septembre 2016

This is a very nice property right in downtown Sidney within walking distance of the entire downtown and waterfront. The staff is courteous and helpful. I had two problems, however, which brings down the rating. The stand alone AC unit, which works wonderfully, was broken on my first night, the room was stuffy. The unit was promptly changed out the next day. The second problem is that the housekeepers failed to clean my room on my second day. I advised the desk at 5:00 p.m. that the room had not been cleaned. The attendant advised that my room was noted "no service". I responded that I did not want the sheets changed daily, but that everything else was to be cleaned. In fact, the room was cleaned on the first day! Bottom line: don't try to be environmentally conscious, just have them clean and change everything, every day. I put the wet towel on the rack on the first morning, so they were not changed. The second day, I threw them into a pile in the bathroom and, well, they did nothing at all. The desk attendant stated that I would given some sort of compensation upon check out, but that will be tomorrow. Let's see if they follow through Nice property and nice location, but communication needs to improve!

"Looked tired, but very refreshed inside."
CharliesM0m2014, 06 Septembre 2016

A little pricey for the room, but it was large and clean with great water pressure. Accepted out dog without any problems, very close to main shops and was a nice 'home base' for the wedding we attended in Sidney. Saved driving back home late at night.

"Just what we were looking for - quiet & clean"
Cuteluke, 05 Septembre 2016

We stayed overnight and it was just what we were looking for. We had a fabulous room on the 2nd floor that was huge. The room was spacious, quiet and the bed very comfortable. The air con is quiet The location is good - close to the shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The Keurig coffee maker, fridge, and bar sink is a bonus. We thought the price was reasonable given that it was high season and a long weekend, plus parking is free and the quality of the accommodation is excellent. (I slept for 12 hours - can't remember the last time I did that). Sidney is a tourist town and is close to many tourist attractions and the ferry. Would highly recommend for short stays.

"really not worth the price"
popamiw, 01 Septembre 2016

breakfast is not included in the rate: they only give you 25% discount on the next door restaurant. This is really bad and very uncomfortable in my room I didn't even have a kettle to make a cup of tea: when I asked for some hot water they told me to do inside the restaurant and ask them. I was shocked!!! I asked at the reception on how to get to the airport by bus and the answer was "we don't have an idea". I had to check by myself: the bus is just few minutes walking from the hotel and it costs only 2.5$ For all the reasons my review of this hotel is negative. Really overpriced for what I got: no breakfast, no kettle in the room, very poor support at the reception

"Nice location"
SLPlovesPE42, 30 Août 2016

My Mom and I stayed here for 2 nights while we visited Victoria and Butchart Gardens (arriving via ferry from Anacortes, Washington). We had the last room down the first floor hallway that meant from our room door we could see directly into the restaurant (Smitty's). That was a little odd, but it wasn't a big issue. The room was large, clean, and well furnished. The two double beds were comfortable. The little table with two additional chairs were a nice added feature for when we felt like getting take away pizzas from Mariner Pizza our first night for dinner (it is at the north edge of the same property as this hotel) -- definitely see my separate review of the pizza! The free parking and free wifi were very appreciated. The area felt safe and we walked all over Sidney in the afternoon and evenings and never felt concerned. Our only sources of disappointment were the following: - the room had a bit of an odor...something like old smoke smell oozing out of the walls? We were there during a particularly hot week, so perhaps that released some old odors into the air. The in-room AC unit seemed to help with the odor, which was nice (since, as other TA reviewers have noted, the first floor windows do not open), but the odor was still evident on my clothes inside my suitcase after I returned home. - the towels were not soft - I completely appreciate that they were definitely clean, but they served to exfoliate while we were trying to use them to dry after our showers. Some fabric softener might be beneficial during laundering. - the door to our room stopped working (stopped reading our card keys and wouldn't read several sets of new ones made for us by the front desk) during our stay. The maintenance gentleman fixed whatever the problem was after he came in at 9 a.m. the following morning, but it was a bit inconvenient to not be able to come/go as we liked due to having to wait to have the front desk person be available to come use their master card key to get into our room. (The front desk person was very apologetic and helpful when it happened. She should be commended for trying to take care of the issue as best as she could without a maintenance person there to fix the problem.)

"Great place to stay - short term"
Dennis07, 21 Août 2016

The hotel is located just off Beacon Avenue which is the main street in Sidney. It is a couple of blocks off the Pat Bay Highway which joins the ferry terminal to Victoria. It is a pleasant and easy walk to the water front and the walkways along the ocean. There is also a large grocery store across the street. The check in and check out worked well. The room was large, clean and pleasant. Everything worked in the room including the wifi. The one downside is that there is no pool and there is no complementary breakfast at this Best Western.

"Very Nice Best Western"
Beachwatcher14, 15 Août 2016

This is a very nice Best Western. Our room was clean, comfortable, and seemed recently updated. Great air conditioning unit (worked well, and was great for white noise to block out street and airport noise). Very convenient to Sidney shopping and waterfront attractions (walking distance to everything). Seemed a little higher priced than other Best Westerns, but considering it's in the heart of a tourist town, was actually pretty reasonable. Great restaurant right next door.

"Large Suite Type Room"
jamescQ6890WD, 14 Août 2016

We stayed one night as we were leaving the Island after spending a week touring. Great location to the airport. Friendly staff. The location is within easy walking distance to the ocean and all the downtown. The room was large like a suite with lots of extras.

"Friendly service great room!"
Scott M, 11 Août 2016

Nice property on the main road into Sidney. All the staff were friendly. We were in the annex building which was across the parking lot from the lobby. We had a very large and comfortable suite. Will stay here again when in Sidney!

"Everything you need"
anningram97, 08 Août 2016

I spent 5 nights at this hotel and it ticked all the boxes. Large room with 2 double beds, wifi, tv, desk and chair, 2 more chairs with small table. Large flat screen TVs. Most all super location for Sidney, just walk out the door and you are on Beacon Ave, the Main Street, with loads of cafes, restaurants on your doorstep and Also close to Butchart Gardens and a short walk to go Whale Watching.

"Fantastic location, pretty grounds, excellent parking"
11Jerry, 07 Août 2016

Easy access to roads. Very good parking, spaces are nice and wide. The grounds are well maintained. Walking distance to businesses. Comfortable, clean room. Best in room coffee we've had at a hotel. Sidney is a very walkable city, and there is excellent parking. The summer farmers market on Thursday evenings is wonderful.

"Perfect hotel in Sydney B.C."
PandJRS2014, 07 Août 2016

We have stayed at this hotel six times. Each time the hotel has been beautifully kept, immaculately clean and with courteous friendly staff. It is an easy walk to the sea front, passing lots of lovely shops on the way, and excellent restaurants.

"Great stay"
Roy T, 07 Août 2016

The staff and facilities made this stay the best of all the stays we have had over the years. The staff, especially Donny, were very helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely stay here again when coming to the island.

"Good location, good for one night"
gogirl2011, 06 Août 2016

We needed a place close to airport for one night and this fit the bill. I still found it expensive for what it was.... Basically a motel style room that had a musty smell. The front desk lady explained that they could not open the windows on first floor for security reasons but I think they should prepare the room by putting the air con on, which we did immediately upon arrival. The beds were very comfortable as always with best western and the rooms were big. They give you a coupon for 25% off breakfast at the attached smittys who has was good but I would have liked to have seen a bigger discount considering the location and obvious attachment to the hotel. Easy and fast late check in at midnight. Met our expectations.

"Great location"
Catie4, 03 Août 2016

We stayed for 1 night last Thursday and were happy with the accommodations. Check in was fast and easy and the room was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Location was great and close to the harbour. On Thursday night they close the street and set up the market with many vendors and wine/spirits/beer tasting and food. We bought some double hot horseradish. We had an excellent veal snitzel with mushroom sauce. Also had some Pilipino food which was tasty. The hotel is across the street from Tim Hortons, star bucks, Shoppers, grocery store and bank. Also the 5 and Dime all day breakfast. Smitty's is attached to the hotel and guests get a 25% discount but we still found our breakfast bill to be high even with the discount. Outside of the hotel there was a unique spiney Cactus type tree which was a neat attraction.

"It's been upgraded"
islandrockin, 30 Juillet 2016

Since my last visit 3 years ago the room that I stayed in this time has a nice new upgrade. I was given a suite as a comp. upgrade and it was very nice in size and amenities with full kitchen, living room etc.. Clean room comfy bed and in the Killarney wing it was quiet The location of the hotel is Ok Reasonable rates. Free parking

"Beautifully appointed & great location for ferry, airport & Butchart Gardens"
Linda H, 23 Juillet 2016

Beautifully appointed suite with king size bed. No kitchenette. Great location coming to or from ferry & airport and for visiting attractions such as Butchart Gardens & Butterfly World Smitty's Restaurant on site - great food & great prices. Only peeves: Long black hair found in bathroom. Jacuzzi tub jets not working - no instructions available & reception staff had no knowledge of how to get it going.

"Most Reasonable of the Airport Hotels"
Greerzo, 21 Juillet 2016

We stayed at the hotel before flying out to Vegas. It was conveniently located. The town was a lovely place to walk around. We were able to walk down to the water and have a lovely meal. The taxi to the Airport was $13.

"Not all rooms are equal."
Canucksontheloose, 11 Juillet 2016

Upon reviewing the past reviews on TA, I requested the separate Killarney building for my family's stay because it was a newer facility and quiet. Requests are not guaranteed and although I booked a month in advance, coming in for 1 night and very late from the airport, we were put in room 124, which was at the end of the main building. Upon opening the door, a waft of musty air hit me but we were so tired, we just wanted to get to bed. The dank smell never left the room even after opening windows and my pjs reeked of the same odour the next morning. I am a BW member for over 15 years and not all BW reach the same level of excellence. On the positive side, the room was spacious, clean, had a Keurig machine, and all the tv channels were accessible. But the fridge was loud and a portable a/c sat in the room, indicating the age of the facility. The woman at reception was very cheerful and gave us discount coupons to some nearby attractions. The BW is not on the harbour but in easy walking distance, and this is reflected in the price. I will think carefully to book again here as it is not worth the stay if put in an older, musty room.

"It was very Comfy, especially after a rustic cabin stay"
Chelsea G, 11 Juillet 2016

We were only here for one night, but I would easily stay again. My 5 stars is based on other hotels similar to this. (I stay at a lot of Best Westerns.) We just did an overnight on Victoria, and I wanted to be closer to the ferry port for leaving the next day. Our room was in the Kilarney (hope that's right) section. It was spacious, quiet and very clean. The beds were comfortable. I loved the double sinks outside of the bathroom. We were two adults and a 6 year old. It worked great!! They do not do a breakfast, but offer a discount at a place on site. It was like an I-Hop or Denny's.

"Clean, Quiet, Convenient!!! Very nice stay!!!"
Banny11, 07 Juillet 2016

Our visit to Buttchart Gardens was enhanced by our pleasant stay to this hotel!!! We travelled by the Brentwood Bay ferry for the first time and really enjoyed our stay in Sidney!!! We have stayed in lots of hotels and this one ranks among the cleanest and quietest!! The quality of food at Smitties restaurant for breakfast with a discount and the convenience to banks, shops and the gardens made our trip a very pleasurable one!! Thank you!!

"Very clean, friendly staff, awesome location"
Summershining, 07 Juillet 2016

This place is perfect location near shops, liquor store and restaurants. It was clean, big rooms, and the staff especially Sally at the front desk were great. Everyone so friendly, makes you feel so welcome. I highly recommend this Motor inn.

"Wonderful Place to stay!"
Carol J, 28 Juin 2016

Had a great stay. The only thing was the lighting in the rooms. It was very convient...10 minutes to the Victoria Airport. Could walk the main street right to the ocean. Many lovely little shops and eating establishments. Would recommend highly.

"Nice hotel on our way to BC Ferry"
chipmay, 25 Juin 2016

Our family stayed at the Best Western in Sidney on our way to the BC Ferry to Vancouver. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. We happened to arrive at the hotel on the day of the weekly Sidney Street Festival, which began about two blocks from the hotel. We enjoyed visiting the vendors and did some shopping. It also was an easy walk to the pier at the end of the street. Our hotel room was near the adjoining Smitty's Restaurant, which served a great breakfast. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this hotel.

"First visit, GREAT find!"
Rick G, 21 Juin 2016

Newly renovated, I stayed in the Killarney Annex, which houses the new weight room. Basic, but good. Room was spotlessly clean, and for being literally a few steps off Beacon Ave (main street) virtually NO traffic noise. It's close to the airport, so now and then some air traffic, but not dreadful. Check-in and desk staff 100% welcoming and wonderful. Grounds in full flower are a complete delight. About a 10-15-minute stroll to the beach front, with great little knicky-knacky shoppes along the way. About a 15-minute drive to Buchart Gardens, which you should have on your bucket list! A very pleasant stay, indeed!

"Gem of a hotel"
Rick G, 21 Juin 2016

Literally steps off Beacon Avenue, hardly any traffic noise; it is near the airport, so there is very occasional air traffic. Room spotlessly clean, and the hotel has obviously been recently updated. Grounds were in full flower, and quite lovely. A most pleasant stay!

"Noisy and dated"
jeffmyers769, 19 Juin 2016

Company (unfortunately) books us this hotel regularly. If you get the street side rooms, you not only enjoy the noisy road, but also the constant peeping crosswalk all night. Rooms were recently renovated, but still look dated. The air conditioning is mounted straight through the wall, which increases the road noise even more. At least the rooms are clean. Cable TV gives you a wide variety of channel you cannot watch, there's a list with the few channels that are available. One of the least favourite stays throughout the company. Also staff doesn't seem to care what rooms they give you. Cannot recommend!

"Sweet Suite"
Judy R, 18 Juin 2016

We booked a one night stay for a family birthday party nearby. Our recently renovated room was located in the annex of the hotel. It was a spacious and comfortable suite, not just a room. The front desk staff was very accommodating because we were trying to check-in early. By the time we had lunch at the adjoining Smitty's restaurant, they had our room ready. I would definitely recommend this spot for easy access to quaint Sidney and also to the ferry terminal.

"Very nice hotel, friendly, helpful staff"
IslandLife21, 13 Juin 2016

We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Really nice rooms and the location couldn't be better for being in downtown Sidney. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. and we can't say enough about the incredible scenery in the area.

"Weekend"
Jason C, 03 Juin 2016

Hotel is much nicer on the inside than the outside. Clean and comfortable. Used points so can't comment on the value but a pretty good hotel. Close to ferry and airport. Grocery store across the street and about a 20 min walk to the ocean.

"Pleasant stay"
Philly31523, 01 Juin 2016

Beautiful large clean room and bed. Nice area. We were impressed with service and value here. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Fitness facility was great. Very close walk to downtown shopping and great places to eat. We got lucky and got to enjoy live music from a couple of street bands!

"The Inmates Run this Asylum"
PoloRalphLauren, 28 Mai 2016

Well-- I can't review my hotels stay here because I couldn't even get a reservation. I am looking to book 6-8 rooms for a conference in September 2016 in the Sidney area. I contacted all the suitable hotels in the region (and got back quotes for accommodation from all EXCEPT the Emerald Isle. What I received back from someone named Kailah (who claims to be the front desk supervisor) was an e-mail that they do not accept reservations from groups during the "busy summer months" (her words). Since when is the last week in September part of the busy summer months? And since when does a hotel turn away guests asking for information? I followed up by contacting Best Western corporate offices to find out that yes they do accept groups (of up to 10 rooms maximum), they do still have availability for the rooms requested and she was as puzzled as I was about the hotel's response. Pathetic, is all I can say. AND... guess which group will NOT be staying at this hotel in September nor ever recommending it to anyone else.

"Convenient to Victoria Airport"
Kim G, 26 Mai 2016

The Hotel is 10 mins from Victoria airport and very convenient. The bed is average, the AC is a wall unit and very loud. The bathroom is clean, but needs updating. Easy walk to downtown and harbor area, shops, dinner. The staff are great!! I would stay here again b/c of the staff and location.

"Incredibly Clean and Comfy"
rjones432, 20 Mai 2016

I stayed in Sidney for six nights while traveling for business in May 2016. The Best Western Emerald Isle was by far one of the cleanest and most comfortable hotels that I have had the pleasure of staying at. The location provides quick and easy access to and from YYJ airport, as well as easy walking distance to many of the restaurants and businesses along Beacon Ave. It's also a short water to the water at the end of Beacon Ave. to enjoy the ocean air! ps. the adjoining Smitty's Restaurant was a nice convenience also.

"Great choice for a getaway to Canada"
Paul D, 18 Mai 2016

We often visit Victoria, but taking our car across can get expensive. A very simple choice, especially for Washington State visitors, is to visit lovely Sidney, BC. The best way to get there is to take the most scenic ferry ride in Washington State, the Anacortes-Sidney ferry that winds through the calm and scenic waters of the San Juan Islands for almost the entire trip. Be aware that it runs only from about March to mid-September. Once you land in Sydney, the Best Western is about a half-mile walk or a short taxi ride from the ferry terminal. Visitors coming from British Columbia also take the year-round ferry from Tsawassen and land at Schwartz Bay only a couple of miles from the hotel. Sidney has the feel of a small, seaside town, with many food choices, some wonderful museums for kids, and trails that can get you to various nearby marinas or beaches. Want to go into Victoria? A regional bus, which originates at the more distant BC Ferries terminal comes through Sidney and heads on to downtown Victoria. The hotel is clean, and rooms are generous. Views are nothing special, but you didn't come here to stay inside. Your best view of the sea is always enhanced by smelling the salt and feeling the spray on your face, not far away. Helpful staff. No free breakfast, but you'll get a discount at the pancake house in the same building.

"Clean and Comfy"
Michele H, 16 Mai 2016

My husband and I stayed in Sidney for two nights while visiting family near Sidney. Very clean and comfy hotel. Will be back as we are moving to the Victoria area in about six weeks and will need to scope out the area for a rental property.

"Conference in Sidney"
Rolf J, 16 Mai 2016

I stayed at this hotel to attend a pilot's conference at Victoria airport. It had an excellent location with walking distance to restaurants on the waterfront and was just minutes from the airport. The staff member who checked me in neglected to mention that my room was in a separate building across the parking lot from the lobby, but otherwise it was a very good stay.

"Need additional cleaning when transitioning between guests"
Paul W, 15 Mai 2016

It is a nice hotel close to shopping and ferry. The overall stay experience was very good, other then the first night where I found nail clippings on the carpet. I would have given it higher rating if not for the nail clipping. Breakfast selections were good compared to other hotel offering complimentary continental style breakfast. Definitly would stay there again but I will check the carpet cleanness before accepting the assigned room.

"Vancouver Island Trip"
Alex M, 09 Mai 2016

Convenient location, standard facilities. Sleeping building separate from main building, not a positive! 25% discount on B 'fast. May stay again.. Sidney is good for a day visit and close to all transportation options.

"Basic things missing!"
kidzrule, 08 Mai 2016

We flew in from Toronto and reached really late at night and the time difference didn't help. The room was nice and clean, but it was was really sad that there were no complimentary water bottles in the room, a basic requirement in my opinion. Then we woke up in the morning and wanted to drive out right away as there was no complimentary breakfast provided either... frustratingly, no "to go" coffee cups were in the room so we had to leave without our morning coffee!

"Return from Duncan B.C."
Michael J, 04 Mai 2016

The stay at the hotel was a preparation for my return to Ontario. I was entirely pleased with the hotel and the staff that took care of me. The greeting receptionist facilitated my wake-up call and arranged for the taxi for the next morning. She ensured that, since I would miss breakfast the next morning, I had something to eat. She also estimated the cost of the taxi. I would stay at this hotel again.

"Our Favorite Place to Stay"
Kathy S, 28 Avril 2016

Once again we have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. We had an early flight and the location was perfect for easy access to the airport. They also allowed us to park our vehicle in their lot while we were away. As usual, the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a great place to stay near the airport or near the lovely downtown and waterfront area, the Emerald Isle is an excellent choice!

"Very Comfortable"
Vernon L, 26 Avril 2016

Close to everything, very comfortable, friendly staff, good restaurant next door, big clean room, handy internet access, nice to have a refrigerator in the room, convenient to shopping and access to the highway, lots of parking

"Good Location"
Gaylene B, 20 Avril 2016

The hotel is on the main street of the lovely seaside town of Sidney. Close to Starbucks and other restaurants, book stores, clothing stores. The hotel is associated with Smitty's restaurant and offers a discount for breakfast. Our room was large and clean, but the heater didnt work well and it was cold. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. A convenient ten minute cab ride to the Victoria International Airport.

"Clean, Large Suite"
Mark L, 17 Avril 2016

Needed a hotel to stay in overnight so that we could make an early flight the following morning. The woman in reception was excellent and knowledgable of the area. Room was large and spotless. Bed was very comfortable. Close to all amenities. Gym area was good. Discounted breakfast at Smittys the next day was a bonus. Would absolutely recommend this to others.

"Dance competition stay"
Randy U, 15 Avril 2016

Hotel does not have hot tub as advertised. Would have been useful for all dancers in dance competition over 4 days. Multiple families booked this hotel based on hot tub on site Average hotel otherwise.

"Great location"
Sheryl W, 08 Avril 2016

Great location, Starbucks across the street. Enjoyed a walk down to the ocean and resturants. Excellent staff , very pleasant and helpful. Nice hotel although a little musty smelling in the lobby and room. Enjoeyed our stay.

"Perfect Airport Stop"
Thundercat1234, 02 Avril 2016

My family of 4 recently stayed here after a late flight into Sidney and we were very happy. The hotel itself is a little older but it has been fairly recently renovated. It was very clean and we liked the close proximity to the airport. There was also a 25% discount for the attached Smitty's restaurant. The hotel had in-room Keurigs which we loved. We wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

"Everything You Could Ask For"
Tricia T, 24 Mars 2016

I got to stay in recently renovated rooms in the Killarney building, which is detached from the main building. The room was huge and was very comfortable with new furniture and carpet and double bathroom sinks. There was a large fitness area with lots of equipment and weights and also a couple of self-serve washing machines to do your laundry. I was very happy with my room. This hotel is centrally located in Sidney with supermarkets, restaurants and shops within walking distance. Parking is free. Wifi is included. I even got a free upgrade to a King room with a jacuzzi. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Just Average"
mrsnourse, 23 Mars 2016

This hotel is in a great location, close to shops and Victoria. It is dated but adequate. The suite with the kitchnette and separate bedroom with king bed is more suited to a couple than four adults. The sofa/hide a bed is a love seat. No one would be comfortable on it. The hide a bed should be taken out a replaced with something useful. In my opinion that suite is overated and almost deceitful. We moved to an ordinary one bedroom suite without kitchentte and was satisfied.

"Wonderful weekend away"
Valorie S, 22 Mars 2016

This hotel was very good. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The keurig coffee pot and fridge and wonderful extras. Great location within walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. I would highly recommend this hotel.

"Right in the heart of downtown Sidney, B.C."
Len R, 18 Mars 2016

Great Hotel in downtown Sidney (by the Sea). Walking distance to everything. Great staff. Beautiful rooms. Close to the Airport. If you are interested in long walks, there is a 10k path around the Airport.

"Everything You'd Look For In An Overnight Stay"
Karen C, 18 Mars 2016

Got here late on St. Patrick's Day 2016. Stayed in a double room on the main floor. Top marks for courtesy of desk staff, cleanliness of the place overall, super comfortable bed, really quiet room (Surrey's a pretty quiet town). The rooms are half updated, with contemporary fixtures in the vanity part of the washroom and 70's vintage fixtures in the shower. Can't recall the last time I had to turn two knobs to adjust the shower water temperature. Or seen an 18 litre per flush toilet. There's Keurig coffee machine in the room - and it's nice that they provide real cups and glasses. Room came with a little microwave and fridge, too. Nice place. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

"Beautiful place!"
Rick P, 13 Mars 2016

My wife and I were on a business trip (March 2016) and this was a stop on the way through to Victoria, B.C. The room is spacious and very clean. We felt like royalty being in this room (208). The bed was sooooo comfortable and we got a great night's sleep! The keurig coffee maker is a bonus as I do love my morning coffee...and this machine makes it quick! This is what you'd expect from a room on a business trip.. The staff were very courteous and polite. Very helpful as well in answering all of our questions in regards to the area. Definitely recommend this place!

"Business trip"
Fernando S, 12 Mars 2016

I come to this hotel every 6 weeks or so on business. for 10 years. In the past years or so the rooms have been renovated. I usually get upgraded to suit which is large, clean and modernized. The hotel is about 5 min. from the airport and very close to all amenities. Great functional place to stay.

"Clean, quite and conveniently located to YYJ"
mitca, 08 Mars 2016

We stayed overnight at the BW Emerald Isle Hotel as we had an early departure from the Victoria Airport. Check in was relatively quick, the room clean and very quite. Parking is free for your stay, and the hotel does offer long term parking at a cost.

"15 Night Stay"
hildog, 06 Mars 2016

Great location, close to ferry and airport. Sidney is quiet with all the amenities you might need. Right across the road from Tim Horton's, Save on Foods and Shopper's. Liquor store as well. Washer and Dryer on site which I used a few times as I was there for 15 nights. Beds comfortable. My only complaint would be the pillows and lack of channels on the TV. A channel guide would help as well.

"best western sidney bc."
Lillian B, 28 Février 2016

Excellent hotel, staff and gym. Handy to nice restaurant. Location of this hotel was handy to everything we needed in town. Was disappointed in not getting a short later checkout. We have stayed in Best Western hotels in Canada and the U.S. and this was one of the nicer ones.

"Worst experience in a Best Western Hotel"
Robert S, 19 Février 2016

If you want to confirm you will never stay in a Best Western Hotel again, visit the one in Sidney BC, Canada. Suggesting it is a seaside location when it is ten blocks away, makes one laugh. Demanding a credit card imprint when there are no services on offer is tantamount to credit card information theft. The welcoming staff almost scared us away. Two other staff tried to make amends, but after the first experience, the rest of the stay was downhill. The food in the neighbouring restaurant was inedible by human standards.

"Nice spot"
AmphibiousMedic, 16 Février 2016

One night stay - Seaside building - Very quiet, nice beds. Internet was fast. Front desk provided a light snack for an early departure. Fantastic service with check-in. Just an overall nice hotel with a great walk score.

"Very Impressed with this property"
Adam K, 12 Février 2016

After a lack luster stay at the Chateau Victoria we decided to stay at the Emerald Isle. I was very impressed with the property. We staying in a suite with 2 queens. The size of the room was excellent, very large with lots of living room. The added Kerig is an awesome touch. The rooms are very clean and have all the amenities that you would expect. The fitness facility is great and has more than most hotels I have stayed at before. The best part of the stay was the overall customer service, the front desk staff were excellent and went above and beyond what I had been expecting. They even made us and the kids a take away breakfast bag since we were going to be leaving early. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

"Perfect location"
moretravels2013, 11 Février 2016

We stayed 5 days at the Emerald Isle. Our room had been renovated, it was comfortable and very clean. The hotel is walking distance to everything in Sidney. Pleasant and helpful staff at the front desk.

"DON'T STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT SILVERFISH"
474shelleyh, 09 Février 2016

Our room smelled extremely bad and when I got up in the dark and turned the light on there were SILVERFISH slithering all over. I don't know if you can carry silverfish home with you or not but I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. It is NOT a BW standard hotel. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!!

"Overall good, but missing some things"
Bryan Mr S, 05 Février 2016

The good: Staff was friendly, rooms were nice and clean. They also allow pets which is a big thing for me. There is an attached Smitty's where you can get a discount and the food there is pretty good as well. The bad: The videos online show a hot tub, but I couldn't find one. I was really disappointed. Also, I did have one issue. My access card got deactivated twice while i was there. Probably because of my wallet phone and the magnet it uses to keep the wallet closed. Also the bathroom has a fan/light combo in it. (when the light comes on, the fan does too) And the fan is not quiet at all. It's hard to take a nice and quiet bath when that thing is running. And i'm not one to take baths in the dark.

"Quiet, and helpful staff."
Ian M, 03 Février 2016

We stayed at the Best Western in Sidney as a launching pad for our trip to Palm Springs (and its early morning flight). We were picked up by the hotel's shuttle at the ferry (we're from one of the Gulf Islands) EXACTLY when they said they would be there... it was raining, cold and waiting around would be miserable). We got into our comfortable room quickly and soon made our way to the adjacent pub next door. Excellent food and and a drink special! We got a 5:00 am shuttle to the Victoria airport. The driver was helpful and courteous. We will definitely stay here again

"Better than average but quite very good"
Justin A, 03 Février 2016

Overall the experience was good, better than just average not quite very good. Friendly staff nice enough rooms but the sound from the hallway carried into my room too much, the door did not seal at all when shut. For the money, I would have spent a few dollars more for higher quality hotel.

"Very Nice Hotel Well Located Near Airport And Ferries"
Westgateman1, 02 Février 2016

We were very pleased with all aspects of this hotel from the exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff at the front desk, to the very nicely appointed room, the great bed and the hotel's location just off the highway. Has an elevator to reach the 2nd floor. Offers a 25% discount at the Smitty's restaurant located on site. Also lots of other eating options right nearby. Would highly recommend this hotel.

"Just Where and What I wanted"
John H, 01 Février 2016

Right in town, minutes from the airport and close to the Marina. Excellent and convenient charging service provided for our Electric car. Comfortable and quiet with everything needed very close by. The attached Smitty's Family Restaurant and hotel provided breakfast discount saved a lot of time and the food was hot, fresh and excellent.

"White Socks stayed white."
Debbie J, 28 Janvier 2016

Booked thru Expedia based on reviews and location. Check-in was effortless, but watch the bill automatically charges you for newspaper. Received a coupon for the Smitty's Restaurant. We did not use it, wanted to eat a local hang-outs not a franchise/chain. Parking was directly out the front of the Hotel. Wifi was included and fast. Facility was clean and completely smoke free. Room was large and included a microwave and fridge, hair dryer, ironing board and TV, We didn't use any of these facilities. King sized bed, cotton poly bedding and smaller pillows. Used extra blanket and I wish I had asked for another. Walked around in the room with white socks and they were still white when I took them off.. that is something Bathroom was very clean with lots of towels, soaps, shampoos etc. Sink(s) were directly outside the bathroom also with towels, hairdryer and toiletries. Only beef! No place to hang shaving kits and personal items in sink area.

"Warm, Clean and Friendly"
Alfred S, 24 Janvier 2016

We did not book our room in Sidney until we were on the Ferry going to Vancouver Island. Our room was ready upon our arrival at 2 p.m. The room is very bright, clean and well laid out. A real plus was having a desk for our lap top. The front desk people were very accomodating and friendly. The beds were firm and comfortable. Location is right downtown Sidney and within walking distance of the water, I would certainly stay here again.

"Excellent experience"
samalakoff, 01 Janvier 2016

Had a very positive experience. Everything was great. Loved that it was a 3 minute walk from my relative's condo. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. Shared it with my daughter. Had an earthquake experience while there which was exciting. Everything was good!

"So comfortable"
Kathy S, 22 Décembre 2015

After a long day travelling, the Emerald Isle was a perfect place to spend a night. The staff was welcoming and very friendly. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the waterfront. As always, the beds and pillows are amazing and we had the best sleep ever. We would definately return again. Thanks!

"4 NIght Stay"
hildog, 15 Décembre 2015

Great spot to stay in Sidney. All amenities are close by and it is a short walk to the ocean. Clean rooms, service was great! Staff were helpful with helping us find a good place to eat. Sidney is a quiet little place but there is lots of little shops, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and grocery stores. We will be returning for a week at the end of January and this will be the hotel we stay at.

"Had to ask to receive discount"
Wolf E, 09 Décembre 2015

I'm a BW Diamond Member and should receive free upgrades anytime they are available. I asked on check in to get upgraded from my queen reservation to a king room and was told you were sold out and sorry, no upgrades available tonight. I went to my room and within 5 minutes from check in went to BestWestern.com and was able to make a reservation on line for a king room, so clearly they were not sold out and someone simply chose to ignore my request. As well, when booking the flexible rate as a BW Reward Member I am supposed to receive 10% off the rate as per their current Winter 2015 promotion (which I an registered with), but I had to ask the next morning to receive the discount, I should have received it without having to ask.

"not bad"
William T, 08 Décembre 2015

the hotel is not bad in this town. i checked lots of others and this should be the one that to pick. I will go back again if i visit this town again in the future. too bad no breakfast included with the amount of money paying. over all i give them six out of ten

"Good location, could use a refresh"
Allan A, 06 Décembre 2015

Had to make a last-second booking at this property due to a vehicle breakdown while heading to the ferry terminal. Booking on mobile was very easy. The hotel is in a good location within easy walking distance of most of what Sidney has to offer. It is also close to the airport making it a convenient stopover point. Everything in the room worked but the furnishings and decor are dated. Road noise was noticeable from the room (110) but I was able to turn up the fan to drown it out. The bathroom vanity is pretty small but the shower temperature and pressure were fine. I found the bed to be okay but a little on the firm side for my liking. I wasn't in a great mood after my car broke down and this property was close and convenient. I could use a refresh but it's clean and convenient. I don't have much experience staying in Sidney but based on what I saw it would be a decent choice.

"Excellent Service"
Glenda L, 05 Décembre 2015

Myself and three other ladies stayed at this faciflity for two nights. Girls weekend for fun and shopping. Upon booking I put a request for extra pillows. Upon arrival we were able to check in early as our room was ready. The front desk clerk was very nice. We are settled in our room for about twenty minutes when we received a phone call from the front desk to ask us if everything was satisfactory and did we need anything. This was a first for all of us having stayed in hotels before. About 10 minutes later we had a knock at our door asking us how many extra pillows we would like. The beds were very comfortable, the room & bathroom were very clean. When it came time to check out the front desk clerk divided our bill into 4 portions without us even having to ask. We had a 25% discount at the Smitty's restaurant for breakfast which we were able to enter from our hotel. Overall our stay was excellent and I would highly reccomend staying there.

"Nice Walk to Downtown"
Maggie J, 03 Décembre 2015

This property has just been renovated and looks great. Love the rooms. Close to the airport and a pleasant walk to downtown. Bed was super comfy. The staff were professional and polite with a great sense of humour. We also had 25% discount at the adjoining Smitteys compliments of the hotel. Would stay here again!

"A super little motel"
Spencer A, 27 Novembre 2015

My stay in November with this motel was very pleasant. Not only did they have a smoking room you would never know that it was because of its cleanliness also staff were amazing with helping with any questions due to tourism. Although the white spot next to it not so good very expensive and mediocre food. But I cannot take that away from how good the motel is I would recommend it to anyone just coming off the ferry that needs a rest because that's the place which you will be sent into a peaceful setting. Thank you to the staff and cleaning crew kudos a number one job

"Remodeled Equals Good Value"
Tom B, 24 Novembre 2015

I stayed at this location for one night on business. This is my second time at this location. The other time was a quick, 'in and out' as I had arrived late and had to catch an early ferry. This happened about 2 years ago. I don't remember the rooms being this nice. My room on this trip has everything I would want. It is very large, has a fridge, a 42" flat screen with an HD cable box ( many channels) and a Roman walk-up tub. I paid about $100 for the room on a Monday in November. Off season, yes, but still very good value.

"Best West Emerald Isle"
David O, 23 Novembre 2015

I was in Victoria on business and was looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay for one night close to the airport. I was very impressed with the facility for the price. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and the staff was helpful - great for an overnight rest stop. Additionally, there were several restaurants within just a few blocks of the hotel from family to elegant.

"Stay of Best Western in Sidney BC"
Frank B, 14 Novembre 2015

Excellent value for the money, Staff is well trained and very interested in my well being.. The manager has gone out of his way to make sure myself and my dog are well taken care of. I will recommend this hotel to ALL!

"Great Value..nice little get away"
HayleysMom_12, 13 Novembre 2015

We stayed in this hotel while attending a concert in Sidney so we did not need to drive home afterwards. We were very pleased with the room...it was huge. We had another family staying in the hotel so we were able to sit comfortably and visit before heading out for dinner. Great staff, rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Sidney is a great little spot to go for a morning walk and grab a coffee.

"Close to the sea"
Robert H, 12 Novembre 2015

A very quiet hotel on the main street, Beacon Ave., but tucked away off the street. There is a Smitty's restaurant attatched to the front on Beacon and the hotel entrance is behind. Good but subtle signage guides you in. Front desk check in was fasr and pleasant. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and accomodating. I had a room with two Queen beds. Had the usual amenities. Very, very clean. Excellent shower. Beds very comfortable with lots of pillows. Room AC/Heater worked great, easy to set and maintain room temperature. Sidney is a laid back town with lots of coffee shops, book stores and art. Lots of outdoor activities but dont expect fast pace or night clubs.it is a place ro relax, walk the seaside, stroll about, ride a bike and browse. Also a short drive to Victoria and all tge big city you could wanr with a British atmosphere.

"So comfie"
wendyt720, 12 Novembre 2015

Although my stay was only one night I must say the room was super comfie and spacious. Having a microwave, fridge and coffee pot made it so much easier to catch my early morning flight. Being on the main floor was so helpful as I was travelling with my dog.

"Stay in Sidney BC"
K5605BBrichardt, 09 Novembre 2015

It was very nice, but we wanted to stay in Victoria as it was closer to the Blackball ferry, but the two Best Western's in Victoria don't take dogs. It would be beneficial I am sure if more of your hotels took dogs as we have often found that we don't get to stay where we want because of it.

"Okay for people Expensive for Dogs"
Marsha M, 06 Novembre 2015

i stayed at Best Western because it was close and convenient for the business I was doing. It was very average... 'queen' bed, tv, coffee maker, mini-fridge. Accepts dogs, but unlike many places e..g. Laurel Point, provides absolutely nothing for the dogs, not so much as a biscuit and charges $15/night/dog.... I've stayed at many many 'dog-friendly' hotels and motels and this one was, in my opinion, out of line with its dog pricing. The attached restaurant, a Smitty's, is very good in its class.

"Clean comfortable close to airport"
ancientmoods, 01 Novembre 2015

Clean comfortable close to the airport. Downtown Sydney restaurants and ocean walkable. Quiet. Yoga studios are near by, again within walking distance. Lovely to wake up early and stroll along the ocean .

"Island trip"
alice d, 30 Octobre 2015

We enjoy the consistent quality of the Best Western when we travel We would prefer the old style coffee makers as the new ones only make one cup at a time and are not environmentally friendly. Enjoy the hotel's proximity to the downtown are of Sidney and having the restaurant next door.

"Littel overpriced"
Wolf E, 28 Octobre 2015

Nice hotel overall, getting lots of upgrades (new carpets etc.), but they see you coming in Sidney ... not much competition in town and their prices reflect it, this hotel is consistently higher priced than other comparable BW properties in BC, must be due to little competition, proximity to airport and ferries? At times I do compare prices with the BW in Victoria and it can be $25-$35 cheaper/night in Victoria, but then you have to drive an extra 1/2 hour each way

"Very Clean and Well Maintained"
Louise872LouiseG, 25 Octobre 2015

Our Family stayed here for three nights in early October. The hotel is located right downtown in Sidney BC, but don't worry about city noise because the whole town closes up between 6 and 8pm. If you're looking for night life this is not the hotel (nor the town) for you, but you prefer the quite at night and quaint shops, and cute restaurants right on the ocean this is the place for you. The rooms were very clean and the hotel and grounds were immaculately maintained. The only down side is that they don't have a pool; they do have a whirlpool but it was out of order when we were there. I would suggest skipping the Smitty's restaurant that is right next to the hotel as the food was ok but nothing to write home about. I would suggest going across the street to the Five and Dime diner for amazing breakfast. For dinner there is a four star restaurant in the Sidney Pier Hotel, or Theo's on Fifth Street (2 blocks away) for awesome Greek food at very reasonable prices.

"Poor reccommendation"
Lindsay M, 22 Octobre 2015

I had booked a room for 4 through central reservations... They had one Suite left. It had a King size bed and a pull out. When we got to the room the pull out was a single. There were no other rooms available . We were there for a family funeral and family members had to find other accommodation! Not happy!!

"Sidney Fine Art Show Weekend"
Kelly Gr C, 21 Octobre 2015

The hotel is a few minute walk to the Mary Winspear Centre, it has a restaurant attached and a well organized business centre. It is within walking distance of grocery stores, liquor store, pub and the beautiful waterfront. It was perfect for the business I was attending during the Sidney Fine Art Show with friendly and helpful staff. If you're a tea drinker you might want to bring your own kettle.

"Comfortable stay"
SFVanCity, 19 Octobre 2015

Always like the Best Western brand, but as anybody who has traveled know, some are better than others. Location-wise, it's very convenient, with restaurants and stores all within walking distance. We stayed at a suite with a living room and bedroom. Like the 2 sinks outside the bathroom. Wish they installed a towel bar by the sinks though where one can hang the hand towel or face towel, but that's a minor quibble. Overall, the room is comfortable, quiet, and most importantly, clean.

"Quaint and Handy"
Glenda B, 15 Octobre 2015

This is a comfortable hotel with friendly staff. The hotel is close to the airport and Swartz Bay ferry terminal. It is handy walking distance to downtown Sidney and the waterfront. Rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a small laundry room with one washer and dryer. We have stayed here 3 summers in a row. Plenty of parking. The only negative was the hot tub. It was filthy with a dirt ring around the tub at the water level, and severe foaming which is indicative of dirty out of balance water.

"A comfortable one night stay"
Tammy D, 13 Octobre 2015

I've always enjoyed the quality of the Best Western Hotel chain. The Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The Restaurant had great food and friendly staff to.The room was comfortable yet smelled of dust.It was very quiet which made for a nice sleep experience.

"Good Location"
Gay J, 05 Octobre 2015

The location is convenient, right off the highway on Beacon Street and close to the ferry terminal. There are restaurants and markets within walking distance. Also Beacon Park and the waterfront walkway are easily accessible by foot. The hotel room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The room they gave us was right across the hallway from the hot tub/exercise room, we were a little concerned about noise but it was surprisingly quiet.(maybe off season)

"Nice hotel, staff need to work on customer service"
Blair G, 02 Octobre 2015

Nice hotel and overall the staff was friendly. Our request for a quiet room was not taken seriously and we were placed in a room that faced a street as opposed to a room facing the parking lot. The staff member that my wife and I talked with was not very understanding. Eventually things were made right and an apology was offered. Slept with earplugs after the first night and everything worked out, but felt that this hotel dropped the ball when it came to meeting our needs.

"Good location"
NanooseBay_12, 30 Septembre 2015

We had to put our 88 year-old mother on the plane the following morning. The attentive clerk on duty arranged everything we needed, and the following morning at 3:30 AM Mom was in the cab on on her way to the airport, just minutes away. It's an old motel/hotel but clean and nicely kept with wood paneling and tasteful lobby furnishings. VERY professional staff. The rooms are old but clean and just a few years behind the times. It's the basic motel from the 1990's, well-kept. Those who are looking for the urban-spa experience won't find it here. This is just a GREAT place to spend a night for airport connections. The airport is just a few minutes away, and $11 by taxi. It was just what we needed.

"Nice staff... poor experience"
Jeff L, 29 Septembre 2015

The hotel was very noisy, overall the staff was very friendly. You do get a coupon for 25% off for breakfast at the smitty's beside the hotel but if you have to leave before 7am it is kind of useless. I stay at a lot of Best Western locations throughout the year and I have to admit I was not overly impressed with this location. This hotel seems to be geared more towards tourists and less towards business travel, this is understandable given the location. I will be back in Sidney in a few weeks again for work and will most likely drive to Victoria for a hotel.

"Comfortable"
Ss987, 26 Septembre 2015

We stayed before our flight home. We had a king bed and it was comfortable. The room had a Large flat screen tv, wakeup service, the carpet looked new and the room was clean. Checkout was fast. Parking was easy. This hotel is less than 5 mins from the airport.
