"Reliable"
fcoira129003, 26 Novembre 2023

It's a good place but it lacks a few things to feel really alive: change of decoration and nicer details. The Nuxe products were a nice addition in the bathroom. Provide more additions for more style!

"Great location with excellent service"
RosesSavannah, 16 Novembre 2023

Found this hotel to be in the perfect location for walking conveniently to shopping, historic sites, restaurants. The included breakfast offered a wide variety to satisfy anyone's taste. The staff was very solicitous--when we had difficulty understanding the thermostat the night manager came immediately to our room to explain and adjust. Definitely recommend.

"Great Location, Quite Spot"
vandm, 02 Novembre 2023

We began a two-week trip to France with two nights at the Best Western Etche Ona and were delighted with our experience. The hotel is in a fabulous location on a quiet street with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was clean, comfortable bed and the receptionist was helpful. We loved walking along the river -- to the wine museum as well as around the old town. Bordeaux is a lovely easy to navigate city. We'll be back and will book again at the Best Western Etche Ona

"Great for business and sightseeing"
Morten R, 30 Octobre 2023

Great room (bed and quite room), location is excellent and very nice and professional staff. we where travelling for both business and pleasure. We had a few requests during the week and met many staff and they all did their outmost to accommodate us.

"Small Paris—Bordeaux is Not Only wine!"
BellBottomBlues, 29 Octobre 2023

Best Western in Historic near Opera Theatre, landmarks, food & shopping. Cab to hotel is a good idea. Vibrant area around the corner. The hotel is quiet due to location just off the square. Nicer than US BW (sorry!) breakfast looks great but I skip breakfast. Fine restaurants nearby. But I like to sample the take-away cancelles (sp?) sweet little cakes specialty of Bordeaux. See photos.

"Average hotel for an average."
knavarro1014, 25 Septembre 2023

No one took my luggage to the room. Have they taken my luggage to the room they would've been able to show me how to work the safe and also the coffee pot. Location was very good but the staff was not as helpful as they should've been.

"A super hotel"
rogerjones48, 22 Septembre 2023

Perfectly located quiet and great service thank you really enjoyed the stay I recommend to anyone visiting the gorgeous city of Bordeaux which is seriously spectacular in every way possible we shall be back

"Great location, good value"
ohiocouple2021, 16 Septembre 2023

Nice hotel. We had a minor plumbing problem, which the hotel fixed within one hour (on a Sunday morning!) We needed laundry service, that was completed within 8 hours at a reasonable price. We were very satisfied.

"Can't Beat the Location"
ribred16, 05 Septembre 2023

We specifically asked for a walk in shower due to mobility issues. Room 228 suited us beautifully. The room contained a queen bed (actually I think it was larger than an American queen), the bathroom was large and well appointed. The safe was at a good height; plugs were easily accessible (I need one next to the bed for my CPAP machine). There was a little alcove off the bedroom with a closet/mini bar/safe so there was plenty of room for our luggage. There was 1 luggage rack and I requested a second which I immediately received. There was even a clothes line in the shower so one could wash "small linen." (I always travel with clothespins/laundry soap.) Good water pressure. This room was next to the elevator, but there was no noise issues. The hotel is very close to the Grand Theater, several restaurants/cafes. The tourist office is about a 5 min. walk away. We stayed at another Bordeaux Best Western a few years ago, but this location was better, as was the room. Am definitely recommending it to a friend who's planning on going to Bordeaux for the first time.

"Great hotel in an excellent location"
helenmccrory19, 26 Août 2023

Fantastic hotel, excellent location, very clean and modern, nice view. Very quiet . Very helpful and friendly reception who checked me in early as my room was ready. This was very appreciated as it was very hot.

"Very small rooms but location good"
TonyGear, 23 Août 2023

Booked as part of a package with EasyJet Holidays based on reviews and location. Location could not be faulted, very central but on a quiet backstreet and easily accessible from the airport by tram. Two issues with the hotel itself, having booked a club medium room I expected a reasonable size instead the room was tiny with no drawers at all in the room and hangers for only half a dozen clothing articles. The “Club” name is certainly misleading. Secondly the air con was not working correctly, I asked 3 times at reception and on no occasion was anything done.

"A good choice in Bordeaux"
gallar654429, 09 Août 2023

Good position, excellent staff, probably rooms need a renovation, we decided for an upgrade (50 euro per night) and the new room (a suite) was very good, public parking close to the hotel at a cost of about 30 euro for a dsy

"Great value and superb location for exploring Bordeaux historical centre"
Murblood, 01 Août 2023

Great value and superb location for exploring Bordeaux historical centre - around the counter from the Opera House and Grand Hotel. Rooms very well appointed and the hotel is environmentally conscious.

"Great hotel for a short city trip"
mjantz652306, 22 Juillet 2023

Great location, nice hotel, very friendly personal, breakfast not tried, Nuxe cosmetics, Nespresso in the room Fantástica ubicación, bonito hotel, personal muy amable, desayuno no probado, cosmética Nuxe, Nespresso en la habitación

"3 Nights in Bordeaux"
TeresaMIvory, 06 Juillet 2023

Our first visit to Bordeaux, and certainly won't be the last. This hotel is in an ideal location, - more or less opposite the Grand Theatre, and just minutes walk from numerous shops and restaurants, and only about 10 minutes walk to the famous Place de la Bourse. We stayed 3 nights on this occasion (did not have breakfast). Any specific requests I had made in advance (walk in shower, - info on parking etc) were all addressed, and for anyone who is concerned - the paid public parking is REALLY nearby and very safe. It is huge, and if you take the correct street exit it can only be 1 -2 minutes walk to the hotel. (Exit by the Merry go Round!). Staff were very friendly and helpful. My only negative remarks are that the room was a little dark, - but given the aspect it is hard to imagine what could be done to change that, Also - a lovely walk-in shower as requested, - however it was lethally slippery and no rails or grips, so perhaps this could be addressed. Overall, lovely stay and I would definitely return.

"Good hotel in a great location"
Jane T, 03 Juillet 2023

It is a very nice hotel in a wonderful part of Bordeaux. It is in the city centre and is very close to great restaurants and great shopping as well as an easy walk to the trams. It is a 15 minute tram ride from the St Jeqn train station.

"Great stay at the Best Western!"
vbrook255869, 21 Juin 2023

Excellent location within walking distance of lots of bistros, shopping and sights. Tram is only a few seconds walk from hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations and scheduling taxi.

"Hotel in the midst of City Center"
Sandra K, 18 Juin 2023

The hotel is in a great location in the city center and has recently been remodeled. Elevators were newer and slightly larger than other hotel elevators located in the city center. Rooms were clean, modern, and small refrigerator with a well stocked bar was located in the room.

"Great choice!"
Maggie B, 15 Juin 2023

We were very pleased with our stay at the Etche Ona. The location can't be beat - we walked everywhere and saw everything we came to see. Like most french rooms, they are small by American standards, but it was comfortable and clean and met all our needs. Would definitely recommend.

"Perfect location, great staff!"
2000Nora, 30 Décembre 2022

I was in Bordeaux for three nights just before Christmas. This hotel is perfectly situated in the center of town. The room was small but very clean and comfortable, so the size didn't bother me like it might other travelers. I can't say enough about the staff, who were so very helpful. I had forgotten to bring an electrical adapter and when I asked where I could buy one, the front desk staff let me borrow one for my stay. They also had some great on-point recommendations for where to eat and what to see. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and to recommend it to others.

"Well located and comfortable."
Angie R, 27 Novembre 2022

Great central location, comfortable room, bed was firm but comfortable. Loved having a bathtub in the room. Nice touch is a little wall that creates sort of a foyer which means you get no hallway light-creep in your room and it makes it a little bit quieter. If it matters to you to have east chess to the restaurant/lounge/gym, don't let them put you in the annex building which is around the corner from the main property. It's not far, but definitely not as convenient as just down the elevator in the same building.

"LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!"
watraveler, 17 Novembre 2022

The Best Western Bayonne Etche-Ona's location is the BEST in Bordeaux! It was so easy to walk everywhere as the hotel is right in the middle of the city centre! The hotel staff was very kind and helpful! We opted to not have breakfast a t the hotel, as there are so many wonderful boulangeries close by. Our room was a double and comfortable. While our room did not have frills, it was fine since it was clean and comfortable. We based our visit on the location which we were glad we did!

"Excellent location"
hjonsd503173, 08 Novembre 2022

The room was rather small but had everything we needed for our weekend trip. The staff was helpful and nice. The lobby on the ground floor is small and the reception is on the next floor above, so guests must expect to have to carry their bags up there. Okay for us though. Pleased to hear that the hotel is working towards being recognized as a green hotel.

"No frills but all we needed."
Puppylady, 24 Octobre 2022

First I want to say we stayed at Best Western Etche-Ona, 11, rue Mautrec 33000 Bordeaux. There are two BW's around the corner from each other Lobby area was small but had seating for people to gather, which is what happened because there was a group people staying there. Upon check-in i believe we were told the upgraded us; staff were behind plastic shield so hard to understand. We had a little living room which was nice. Room was clean and had al we needed, though never figured out how to successfully use the coffee machine. The breakfast staff were a bit discombobulated and not keeping up with the guests coming and going. The food was self-serve but unfortunately cups, utensils etc. were only provided by staff. We walked to everything and LOVED the wine store around the corner. So if you are a wine lover you must visit.

"A lovely stay in central Bordeaux"
Martha W, 23 Octobre 2022

Wonderful hotel with friendly, very helpful staff who went above and beyond to help us with recommendations. Very glad we chose the hotel as its location is perfect for exploring the city. Overall a fantastic trip.

"This is not a 4 star hotel"
Bigred011, 18 Octobre 2022

This is not a 4 star hotel. At best a 3 star. Seems more of a group tour hotel. At 4 star I expect a bar and good lobby area. This was not the case. Hotel is a great location but getting to it by car is very tricky and confusing. Hotel doesn't really help of have good info on parking so kind of figured it out on our own. Room - very basic and they gave us a handicapped room. They felt this was an upgrade which was completely opposite of our thoughts. Room was clean and quiet but beware of only queen beds. To get a king you have to go up a few levels. Lobby - terrible. No atmosphere, small, no windows. Not sure who would use it as we never saw anyone in the lobby. Also the elevator always stopped at the lobby level and doors would have to open for the elevator to continue to your floor. This was very frustrating. Also, hardly ever saw staff at the reception desk. The staff at reception weren't very frendly and avoided contact in general. Breakfast - very basic and not what should be at a 4 star hotel. We would never ever stay at this hotel again.

"Small break in Bordeaux"
John M, 17 Octobre 2022

Stayed in Bordeaux from a Weds to Saturday, very lively town, walkable, full of bars and restaurants. Hotel very central, room comfortable, continental breakfast good. Staff very good, friendly and professional, no complaints, would stay here again, and would certainly returns to Bordeaux.

"Location location location! Darn good hotel too; a real find!"
EnjoysTheCraic, 13 Octobre 2022

Location, location location! Simply brilliant!! Close to the centre for restaurants & shopping, tourism office, opera & trams but far enough away where noise from such areas can be intrusive. It's in a small street off the main thoroughfare of a well lit area which is ideal for walking around. When compared to the larger chains such as the imposing Intercontinental next block the Hotel is bijou but it's truly a lovely friendly place. All the Staff are just lovely & very helpful - that includes Maids, Receptionists, Waitresses - everybody. Rooms are all well maintained, beds comfy, AIRCON quiet, bathrooms bright and modern with heated mirror. The general decor is very pleasing. Breakfast has a great variety of foods. This was our first experience of Best Western hotels, (Premier brand) and we were very impressed. It easily compares favourably to our usual choice of Marriott or H10 brands.

"Getting to Know Bordeaux"
Frances R, 11 Octobre 2022

We were there for a conference. Arrived a few days before and stayed a few days after. The hotel is in the middle of everything which makes it easy to walk or take the trolley everywhere. However, it is so quiet and set back from the main street that one would never know when inside that it is in such a central place! Super helpful and knowledgeable staff make it easy to be there and to get everywhere!

"Centrally located on quiet street"
lifeisforlearning, 07 Octobre 2022

Located 1/2 block off the large square in front of the Opera House, walkable to everything. Comfortable lobby. Decent-sized room with a closet, safe, stocked mini-fridge, coffee maker. The shower stall had a rain shower head and a handheld attachment and the bathroom was well-lit with a heated mirror. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of options.

"Great hotel! Great staff, great rooms, great location!"
dgunn373555, 06 Octobre 2022

Hotel was excellent and I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to any family and friends who were visiting bordeaux. Restaurant recommendations were good. Staff were very helpful and friendly!

"Lovely stay in Bordeaux"
kaneshaunag, 06 Octobre 2022

Lovely comfortable hotel in a great location. We had a club room for the extra space. Spotless bathroom. Staff really friendly and helpful. We had breakfast, which although pricey was convenient and speedy. Thank you.

"Wonderful hotel in Bordeaux"
skimama74, 30 Septembre 2022

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The hotel is very conveniently located, near sights, restaurants, and the tram. The room was clean, comfortable, and well stocked and during the heat wave we really appreciated the air conditioning. The staff could not have been more helpful, recommending restaurants and places to visit. They went way over the top to help us, when my daughter discovered that she had left her passport in the hotel safe. The found the passport and overnighted it to our next stop in Rouen, and also kept in touch with us until we received it. You don't get that sort of service everywhere. I'd definitely stay here again.

"Great Hotel"
Joe A, 26 Septembre 2022

Stayed here four nights to start our France vacation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Chloe was especially helpful when we first arrived in mapping out some main sights and restaurants for us. We were actually in the building around the corner from the main hotel, The hotel couldn't be better situated and is an easy walk to most sights. Had a deluxe room, which was very good size with a walk-in shower and plenty of counter space in the bathroom (rare for many hotels in Europe). Daily service was very good and room always made up by mid-day! Breakfast was smallish selection but still plenty and good to start the day. They promptly asked what you wanted to drink and got your coffee very quickly. The hotel was very clean and well kept up. Air conditioning worked great, which was needed as was quite hot outside. We had no issues at all during our stay. Well done overall to all involved in this lovely hotel.

"Excellent location"
Elizabeth H, 26 Septembre 2022

You could not fault the hotel in any way. The room rate reflects the location. The staff are excellent., very friendly and professional. We wanted to speak French, but their English was perfect and they detected our French wasn't!

"Very convenient location"
Wongluk, 03 Septembre 2022

Stayed 4 nights on our first trip to Bordeaux. Took train from Paris and transferred to tram just outside station which stops close to hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is small but clean. The bathroom is the main complaint. The bathtub is very hard to get in and out of. It is an accident waiting to happen. Location is excellent.

"A pleasant stay at a great location"
rimisnotenough, 16 Août 2022

A great location in Bordeaux to start your exploration. There are two Best Westerns a block from each other. Everyone gets dropped off at the first one, then they send you around the corner to the second one. A mild annoyance at best. The Hotel Intercontinental is at the end of the block. That was clearly the luxury choice in the area if needed. Otherwise, the staff was unbelievably courteous and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping. Absolutely warm and lovely. The hotel itself is efficient. Our rooms were small but comfortable and clean. A/C worked fine. The elevator was very small. Our family of 4 with carry-on only luggage could not fit all at once. We could not really fit without the luggage either. The kids often just used the stairs. Breakfast was efficient at best but a good option if you are in a hurry. Otherwise, there are many cafes and coffee shops in the area to grab a coffee and a pastry. Shopping and restaurants were all nearby. The tourism office as well as a Tram/bus interchange station was blocks away. This is a great hotel to throw your bags down and start exploring Bordeaux. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value; clean, efficient and well located.

"Superb Hotel, Staff and Location"
Wilton2, 14 Août 2022

Hotel is situated in a very quiet side street with no traffic. It is close to the major attractions, restaurants and shops which are within easy walking distance. On arrival, we were very warmly greeted and welcomed by Chloe (she is excellent). We were provided with details of major attractions, maps, tips and information to ensure our visit was a success. Room - furnished to a high standard with a very comfortable bed and linen. Room had a bath with an excellent overhead shower. Air conditioning was very efficient. Tea/coffee making facilities were provided. There was a fridge with various chargeable drinks but also contained bottles of water at no cost. A safe was available in the room. Breakfast - we had breakfast each morning and was as you would expect - breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts, etc plus sausages and scrambled eggs. Food was of a good quality and service was excellent. Staff - a credit to the hotel. Service was 1st class from reception to cleaning staff. Would recommend.

"Excellent Hotel and Staff"
suncream2015, 30 Juillet 2022

Arrived here from Scotland for a 4 night break .The staff are very friendly and helpful .The hotel couldn't be better situated and is only 10 mins walk to the river or the old town. The rooms are a good size but not huge , we have stayed in smaller city hotel rooms. The hotel is very clean and recently refurbished. Well done to all involved in this lovely hotel. Ps Special mention to the cheerful friendly cleaners.

"Excellent location for the price"
sophiab605, 27 Juillet 2022

We needed a one night stay in Bordeaux prior to boarding our river boat cruise and this hotel fit the bill well. The location was close to the unesco walking area which encompasses a large area of the city. Our room was small but I probably could have chosen a larger room. The front desk people were fantastic, very helpful. And we even got a bottle of wine in our room for free!

"Staff care couldn't have been better"
JudyF453, 18 Juillet 2022

We had barely arrived in Bordeaux & checked in (very impressed with lobby having small pastries in all day as we'd been travelling since 2am), when my partner fell in the city centre and broke his wrist. The staff were so caring and immediately found ice packs / helped us find a taxi to the hospital etc. They carried our bags to the rooms too. We had to cut our stay short, but they could not have been more attentive and helpful throughout- thank you. Our room was fine and the bed very comfortable with good toiletries etc. Breakfast had plenty of choice and good coffee. Hopefully we will return soon under happier circumstances!

"Excellent hotel in great location"
er959, 17 Juillet 2022

Wonderful location, great staff and service who are very attentive. Will visit again when back in Bordeaux. Staff were very friendly and showed us a great restaurant option. Air conditioning in room excellent given the very night temperature in the town

"Comfortable, clean hotel in the heart of the action"
lozenge22, 09 Juillet 2022

I was a little wary of staying at this hotel, as I normally avoid big chains. Having said that, the look and feel of the hotel was very much the same as an independent, boutique establishment (and let's face it, many ‘boutiques' are owned by the big boys anyway). I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to anyone visiting Bordeaux.

"Nice and centralt situated"
Kirsten R, 28 Juin 2022

Nice hotel situated near the opera and the big shopping Streets. So very central. The room was clean and overlooking the roofs, which made it very quiet. Breakfast very nice with both cereal, yoghurt, homemade bread, croissants etc.

"Location, Location Location"
ngalvin2022, 05 Juin 2022

What a fab hotel right in the centre of all attractions, shops, bars and restaurants. All recommendations of places to eat were great and i can especially recommend the Tea Shop which is seconds away for a light lunch and the cakes are delicious!

"Good choice!"
Naes_ferrer, 27 Mai 2022

Good place to stay in! We loved our stay there. Perfect location, close to the most important points and good service. Room was big and beautiful. We also enjoyed breakfast there. I would recomiend!!!

"Superb Best Western"
rktravels33, 26 Mai 2022

The gold standard of hotels. Our room was quiet, comfortable and extremely clean. Nice touches with robes and slippers and chilled wine glasses in the mini bar. Florian was super friendly and helpful with good recommendations for Bordeaux and surrounding areas. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Best Western.

"Bordeaux escape"
BahamasAl77, 14 Mai 2022

Having stayed at various different hotels in Bordeaux at different budget levels before and none available for our visit, we chose the Best Western primarily for its central location. The hotel is less than 30 seconds from Place de la Comedie in a narrow quiet street so cannot be beaten for location and we spent our time walking although the nearest tram is not far either. The hotel is in an older building so the rooms are expectedly not huge but functional and clean. Special mention for the front desk and Marie in particular who was extremely friendly and always willing to provide recommendations to make our visit even more memorable. Will certainly look at availability for our next visit.

"A brilliant hotel with a great staff!"
Dilolwa, 01 Mai 2022

We had a great stay in this lovely, friendly hotel right in the very heart of Bordeaux. The reception staff - Celia, Florian and Louis - went out of their way to be of assistance to us - they clearly all ‘walk the extra mile' for their guests. Our room was quiet, spotless and came with a big bathroom. Breakfasts were excellent with a big choice of cheeses, cold meats, eggs, sausages, fruit juices, croissants and cereals. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a central location in a safe and welcome place with lovely staff.

"Very good"
sscott729731, 18 Avril 2022

I stayed at the Best Western Premier Hotel Etche Ona in the second week of April. Upon my arrival, to my great surprise, my booking appeared to be on a different structure from the one I saw on booking and booked. it bothered me a lot also because the structure seemed decidedly different and with very noisy public works right near the entrance. Obviously I pointed this out at the reception in the two hotels and I solved absolutely nothing ... so I tried to take the situation as it was ... and I went out for a walk, since the room would only be delivered in the afternoon. Here too, I had requested an early check in and accepted the added cost that the hotel told me to be 15 euros, subject to availability, and obviously the room available on my arrival was only a superior category with an unattractive cost. In short, I was not satisfied at all, it had started badly and they still asked me for more money (I still say because when I pointed out that the hotel in the photo that I was convinced I had chosen was the other one, they asked me for an additional payment there too. for the change) ... I had decided that I would not have spent anything in addition ... and I am not the type to look after expenses ... I was very annoyed !!! On the contrary, my review is absolutely positive ... The small room, yet absolutely delicious, bathroom products of excellent quality, all the comforts and a splendid view of the bell tower and the roofs of Bordeaux, full of light, completely soundproofed and very clean , a charm. Excellent breakfast, sourdough bread, as well as croissants, which have a full taste, and of good quality, I choose salty and I found excellent cooked and raw ham, very fresh eggs that you can choose to cook in the kettle according to your taste and small sausages ... for those who are less reckless ... there are excellent crepes, small and very fresh, to be seasoned with Nutella, strawberries, honey or maple syrup, the cheeses are very tasty. I have tried a bit of everything, the rest is to everyone's taste. The staff is without doubt what makes the difference. Courteous, helpful, efficient. We also talk about safety and accessibility. The hotel is in the center, less than two minutes you can take tram B to get around the city and on foot you can go to the main tourist places, the Cathedral and Piazza Gambetta are close, as well as the Aquitaine museum, not there is a restaurant in the hotel, outside you can find any restaurant you want, and not far away there is also a small shopping center with a supermarket. For the entrance, you go up in the lift directly to street level, so you can get to reception, on floor 0, without going up the stairs, and for the rooms the lift starts only if you bring your room key to the sensor. . And in the evening the door closes and you just have to ring and be recognized. Control is good. I recommend this hotel to everyone and I will definitely return ... it will be my first choice every time I come to Bordeaux!

"Perfect spot on location and hotel"
theroline, 13 Avril 2022

A newly refurbished hotel with perfect amenities right in the Heart of Bordeaux. Located next to the Intercontinental and opposite the Grand Theatre. You cannot get any more central. We stayed in a deluxe room with a very well equipped bright and modern bathroom all newly refurbished since lockdown . Perfect for a three night stay and we would return for sure. We stayed in room 123 on the first floor ( lifts available ) however this overlooked the car park of the neighbouring hotel which generated a lot of morning delivery noise. However this was just a small factor but we'd request a different room next time. Bathrooms provide shower Gels and shampoo and conditioners. Dressing gowns and slippers. Nesprsso coffee machine is in the room with tea and milk. A mini bar also in the room with water and a bottle of red wine. All these are chargeable so please check prices. Nothing is free! However handy. There's an office licence just on the corner near the hotel so worth a visit to buy your wine there. Staff and reception were every helpful. English speaking with recommendations of restaurants to visit and bars to drink at. Taxis are unable to drive down the road to this hotel, However we were directed by a very helpful taxi who showed us where we needed to go. 1 min walk from the square or the main road. There are two areas of this Hotel but I'd you find yourself going to the incorrect one it's ok you'll be directed where to do. It's just in the same block but round the corner. Hotel closes at 10:30pm at night so you need to call the intercom on arrival and they will let you in. Maybe a new modern key access is needed but it wasn't a problem to get in after this time. Bordeaux was amazing. The people were friendly, it felt safe, it felt like a well kept city, clean, tidy with class. Trams are 5 Eros a day or 1.70 for a single journey. Visit the Citi du vin ( wine museum ) just a short tram ride away. Perfect for a few hours and a day out.

"Excellent location and Value"

We had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Premier. Walking distance to Most of our qctivities. Very clean and comfortable beds and pillows. Great WIFI too. When asked for the optional upgrade for 15 euros we took it and it was worrh it. Our room was spacious.

"Excellent, comfortable hotel in central location"
DavidfromDorset, 22 Mars 2022

We stayed for just two nights, and were very impressed. If we were to come back to Bordeaux, this would be the place for us. Next to the Place de la Comedie, and the tram stop, but in a quiet street. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite - spacious, comfortable and quiet. Thanks for that. Helpful staff booked us a restaurant. Fine building with interesting travellers memorabilia. Breakfast had good choice, plus good coffee.

"Bordeaux Centre hotel"
phocke335147, 14 Mars 2022

The best hotel experience ever, friendly hotel in the heart of the city with good quality rooms and a comprehensive breakfast, room was quiet and plush with a nice ambiance, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a suite for our wedding anniversary stay, we'll be staying with them again

"The perfect hotel"

Quality and friendly staff was just the beginning of a great stay. The rooms were excellent, every item well done and carefully considered. And the location was perfect, quiet but close to everything.

"Wonderful little gem!!"
Cruiser58212319848, 16 Décembre 2021

We were in Bordeaux for both business and pleasure and picked this Best Western hotel for its central location and good reviews. We were not disappointed!! It's a little gem!! We opted for a room with a king bed, and it was perfect! The entire staff were welcoming and helpful. We just moved to France and Bordeaux is our closest big city, so we anticipate many more stays in this lovely, comfortable hotel!!

"Nice small hotel at the heart of the city"
analokin, 22 Novembre 2021

Great location, city center with its main sights, as well as tram station at walking distance. Rooms are neat, perhaps a bit on the smaller side, well maintained, quiet. Breakfast not worth the price.

"Fantastic Location in the Heart of Downtown Bordeaux"
Rishi B, 10 Novembre 2021

It's hard to beat the location of the Best Western Premier Hotel Bayonne Etche-Ona. We were steps away from the vibrant center of the city. There were so many shops, restaurants, bakeries, bars, and everything you could imagine within a very short walk, and the train that goes throughout town was also easy to catch. The staff was fantastic throughout our stay. They immediately told us that our room had been upgraded because we were visiting on our honeymoon. The room was very comfortable and spacious with a fridge, nice couch, and big television screen. We slept extremely well on the great bed and felt very happy that we'd booked here. They also serve an excellent breakfast that you can have delivered up to your room if you'd like it. The location is the main reason to book this hotel, but you'll love everything else that comes with it, too. We'd certainly book here again if we wanted to stay downtown. The name Best Western may not sound like an elegant place, but we found it to be a top-notch facility and operation on all levels. Definitely worth your money!

"Comfortable in Bordeaux"
Freedom7995, 05 Novembre 2021

Excellent choice, very helpful staff. No matter what question we asked, it was immediately answered and done. The location was perfect, just steps from the tram stop, and an easy walk to many restaurants and shops.

"Amazing stay"
rnjn, 26 Octobre 2021

The hotel is located right in the middle of the town center. I could not be happier that I booked this hotel. It was so convenient to walk the city from here. We had restaurants and shops 2 mins away. Major attractions were between 5-10 mins walking distance. The service and staff were excellent. Rooms were very clean and comfortable with all the amenities one would want. Highly recommended.

"Merci!!!"
maria_patchevska, 23 Octobre 2021

I stayed there for a business trip. The personnel at the reception and the manager were very professional and polite. It is a very nice atmosphere in the whole hotel in the citiy center of Bordeaux and perfect for everybody who would like to stay for a business and on a holiday. Thank you so much for you support during the stay.

"Wonderful!"
AnneS304, 22 Octobre 2021

My cousin and I recently stayed at the hotel in two rooms -one standard and one deluxe. Both rooms were well appointed although the deluxe was very roomy with seating area and two bathrooms.( Room 111). The hotel is very clean and breakfast is excellent. The hotel is centrally located near transportation, shopping, and restaurants. Many thanks to the wonderful staff especially Chloe, Maud, and Tiago for their assistance during our stay. I highly recommend the Best Western Etche-Ona if you are planning a visit to Bordeaux.

"Great location and nice hotel"
AntoniaRobinson, 18 Octobre 2021

Brilliant position in the center of the old town, with quiet comfortable, clean, well appointed rooms. We were next to the lift and heard no noise at all. We also took the least expensive and we're extremely comfortable and not cramped. Good value all round with helpful front desk staff . Would return.

"Great Location, Friendy Staff and Comfort"
vlfrance, 14 Octobre 2021

We chose the hotel mainly for location and the price point was good. It was in an excellent location, and the property was apparently refreshed during the pandemic. It was very nicely decorated/finished, the room very comfortable with good amenities and we appreciated the breakfast with variety and the friendly and polite staff. An excellent stay.

"A lovely hotel in a great location."
ljames248772, 24 Septembre 2021

We stayed here for a special occasion and chose this hotel for its location and style. It has a small hotel feel, with friendly staff and attractive decor. The beds were large and comfortable, the bathrooms modern, and the breakfasts very good.

"Well-located and up to date"
RexallWillie, 13 Septembre 2021

The staff is very good and anxious to please. The rooms were smallish but well furnished. It is close to the Opera House and close to the river. We were within easy walking distance to most of our activities

"Perfect location, excellent staff"
PGRBrussels, 16 Août 2021

Just back from a five night stay at this hotel..it was a great choice. Fantastic location.. minutes from all the main central sites - the river, shopping, lots of bars and restaurants nearby as well as the tram station - perfect place to be based. The hotel consists of two buildings - I stayed in the Rue Mautrec part - smaller and quieter. Rooms are small (so make sure you choose the right one) but well equipped with everything you need. nice bathroom, fridge, nespresso machine. All personnel were superb ..totally professional and very helpful. For me the only downside was the breakfast - French 'continental' breakfasts are rarely WOW but this one was particularly disappointing - very limited choice of items and always the same (I know its COVID but) - how about some decent croissants and charcuterie or even fresh fruit? And 17 EUR...? You can find alot better in nearby cafes. Also reception of this building closed at 10PM so you had to buzz the main entrance to let you in after 10 PM and this proved problematic on several occasions. Having said that - the Best Western Premier Etche-Ona is still a great hotel to be based in for visiting Bordeaux - and is highly recommended.

"Simply Perfect"
Memlouise, 02 Août 2021

I'm accustomed to the Best Western brand stateside (which I frequently habit). So it surprised me to find this perfect Best Western in Bordeaux. Let me emphasize two points: the location and the service. While the room was lovely and comfortable and spotless, the location and service (and value) were remarkable. Around the corner from the pricey Intercontinental, I suspect the service here is far better, with fewer rooms and an attentive staff. Don't worry about parking if you have a car. The public lot is very close and affordable. Enjoy this simply perfect Premium hotel.

"Excellent Hotel in Perfect Location"
DennisTrojan, 28 Juillet 2021

The hotel is right in the heart of the historic "golden triangle," and one can walk to almost everywhere. For tourist sites that are not within walking distance, the hotel is next to a tram stop. The room was large, comfortable and quiet. The staff were very helpful, thoughtful and kind.

"Great stay in Bordeaux!"

"Very nice stay at this hotel"
dvautr386448, 20 Août 2020

This hotel is perfectly located, close to la Place de la Bourse and to all the shops and old town area. Very quiet street and excellent insulation. I went to amazing restaurants and cafés (Le chien de Pavlov and La Diplomate).

"great stay"
Go46361757733, 18 Février 2020

The location is one of the best you can find, if you're looking to be in the heart of Bordeaux. Public transportation is just outside the door. And, all the shopping you'll need, begins outside the door and never seems to end. Restaurants, opera and sightseeing are all within walking distance...... The rooms are a bit small, for what I'm accustomed to. But the staff was great.

"Very good"
simonjonesmedia, 11 Février 2020

Very good central hotel. Rooms are lovely, not huge but very comfortable and clean. Recommended. Very central location. Good access to restaurants and theatre. Tram line just a very short walk away. Not the cheapest hotel but worth it!

"Great Location"
ChicLiving, 02 Février 2020

I stayed here for one night at the end of my trip last June and it was pretty nice. Super clean, good location, helpful staff, taxi can pick you up right in front of the hotel (they picked me up at 4:30 am). I didn't try their breakfast as I was leaving so early in the morning. Location is really nice as it is in the middle of lots of shops and restaurants, and near the tram stations.

"Great experience and perfect location"
KymboD, 19 Novembre 2019

We checked in to this hotel in late October 2019. The check in staff were really friendly and helpful offering a city map and suggested sightseeing options, which made us feel welcomed to the city. Our room was large with a modern interior and generous bathroom and facilities. The location of this hotel is very central to everything. We had a fantastic time here and would not hesitate to return.

"Lovely 2 night stay"
stushy2016, 18 Novembre 2019

We were here as a group of 4 and were heading to watch a game of rugby. The hotel was perfect for our needs, centrally located, close to bars and restaurants we could also walk to the rugby ground which was a bonus. We saw some of the sights and did a great wine tasting at Le Pied a Terre (see separate review), enjoyed the shops and the French architecture and walked along the river, before catching our flight home. Breakfast was lovely although the breakfast room a little small for the number of guests, but the offering was tasty and well presented. Our room, which was a standard room was very good with an excellent coffee machine and good bathroom with a lovely shower. Everything we wanted was provided, hairdryer, safe & coffee..... the bed was so so so so comfortable. Everyone we met at the hotel were delightful and happy to help, great team running this lovely little place. I'd happily return to this hotel and recommend if you have a short stay in Bordeaux.

"EXcellent Location!!!!!"

Overall all Excellent, good location, breakfast, cleaning, customer service, cleaning very well located in the center, close to the trains, restaurants, shopping, etc... My window overlooked the street and there was no noise There's a tourist office nearby, Bordeaux Tourism office 12 cours du 30 Juillet 33000 Bordeaux They helped us on our excursions and you can walk around there

"Average experience with excellent location"
jlonca306629, 11 Novembre 2019

Nice average hotel in the center of the town. Can reccomend for a short stay for city sightseeing. Dinning area should be renovated to more cosy design. As ussualy for this kind of hotels you can not expect spacy rooms and other hotel areas.

"charming and peaceful"
JoelR2664, 06 Novembre 2019

the hotel is top situated, we walked everywhere by foot. it is really in the center. the room is so charming and cosy and very beautifully designed. it is extremely clean and really really peaceful (you do not hear any noise from the street. we really had good time there and would come back at the first occasion.

"Location, location, ..."
IndySwimRun, 05 Novembre 2019

Once you find this hotel, it has a great location. Caution: because vehicles are not permitted on the plaza in front of the Grand Theater (aka Opera House), getting to the hotel is a little tricky. The hotel is a very short walk to the grand plaza and other areas i Bordeaux. Although we didn't use the tram system (aka light rail), it was very close. Downside: duvets on the fed (I personally dislike them!).

"Good value for excellent location"
Laifong968, 25 Octobre 2019

The Club Medium room is smaller than we expected. Location is excellent. Close to restaurants and shopping area and several tourist attractions. Walking distance to all 3 tram lines. As the hotel is located in the pedestrian zone, we cannot have Uber drivers pick or drop us at hotel entrance.

"Great Location"
Judi W, 25 Octobre 2019

This hotel is in a great location. Close to the center of everything. Very close to the tourist office. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended restaurants and made reservations. We chose not to eat breakfast because we enjoy getting out and finding French bakeries in the morning. The bed was great. I would definitely stay here again.

"Friendly and Great Location"
jsmichalowski, 18 Octobre 2019

The staff we dealt with was very friendly and helpful, we loved the location as well. We were traveling with family and we all agreed if we were to go back, we would staff here again. Our rooms were nice and clean which is extremely important to us.

"Ideal location"
TexasPhotoLady, 15 Octobre 2019

The location downtown was ideal. It's in the middle of the major shopping and restaurant areas and walking distance from the riverfront. The reception personnel were very friendly and helpful, and the lobby was very comfortable for waiting for the taxi. The room was small but adequate and very clean.

"Exceptional Best Western Hotel in Bordeaux"
Ket C, 14 Octobre 2019

We really enjoyed our stay at this Best Western Hotel in Bordeaux. It's location is central and you can walk everywhere in the city. The only time we had to take the tram is to the wine museum, which is a 25 minute walk but we decided to take the tram instead for the experience. Hotel has 2 locations, right around the corner from each other. The general manager and the staff are excellent in answering and help us with all of our questions. Room is a bit small but it is newly renovated with nice bathroom. We highly recommend this hotel for staying in Bordeaux.

"Great location, wonderful staff"
virginiam990, 13 Octobre 2019

Clean and updated room in old manor, English speaking staff, very helpful. Near sights, restaurants, transportation. There are two parts to the hotel, from two separate houses a few yards from one another. Either one gives you access to the fitness center and one has 24 hour check in, but can enable you to check in either place.

"Great central location"
Fiona N, 10 Octobre 2019

Location in central Bordeaux difficult to beat. Newly refurbished hotel Good breakfast Comfortable room Helpful staff English spoken Parking a bit of a challenge in Bordeaux though the hotel has an arrangement with a nearby car park to discount the parking charge. We stayed 2nights and just left the car in the park and walked everywhere

"Nice hotel but expensive"
D R, 29 Septembre 2019

Really little more to say, excellent location. Decor and standard both excellent as were the staff. The room was small however and overall was expensive so would suggest breakfast in town there are plenty of places with good food and settings.

"Fantastic Location, Excellent Staff"

Our three night stay was lovely! This hotel is modern, immaculately clean and the rooms are extremely comfortable. The staff is wonderful and breakfast was delicious. Tram is directly outside and major points of interest are within 10 minute walking distance. Highly recommend.

We stayed for three nights. The location was perfect; the room was very clean, modern and comfortable. The staff are friendly and would go out of their way to help. Special thanks to Maria and Sean; they were great.

"Maria is the best!"
Venture79220, 11 Septembre 2019

My mother and I stayed here for 4 days in August. Maria was the first person to greet us and she was so fabulous! We had a difficult time finding the hotel in the rental car and she immediately helped us unload the luggage, provide a map for the parking garage location and offered us some water for the walk. The room was perfect for us - we didn't need (nor expect) a large room, as we were out enjoying the city not hanging in the hotel room. The hotel is located on a side street, so it is very quiet while being in the heart of everything. It is located close the Grand Theater and is a short walk to the river, lots of restaurants are nearby (many were closed on Sunday morning-however, it was August and lots of places were on holiday). It is very close to a tram/metro stop and the tourism office is practically across the street, so it was easy to buy any type of tickets for tours, etc. Again, the highlight of the hotel is Maria's professionalism, her upbeat personality and her excitement for the guests to experience all that Bordeaux has to offer!

"Newly renovated, and you thought .."
I6181ENjamesw, 07 Septembre 2019

That you had stayed in a tiny room. It is nice, all freshly painted in soothing colors, the bathroom is functional. When it comes to the tub/shower, it is one of those that are very high, requiring you to be an acrobat to enter. If you are of my age, falling is a major concern and there are no handrails here. The unusual part of this adventure is that while drying off, as the towel touched my skin, it erupted in a fiery sting, turning bright red. This happened in Pairs also, just not as much. Some lotion quickly takes the sting away, and after a few minutes the redness is noticeably gone. So speculative thinking, something in the laundry process is irritating to me. The bed looks like a single, it is for two. Without much room on either side to move about. One luggage rack and a small closet, but we have two bags and 2 carry ons. Floor space is now a narrow path around the room. I have a flashlight to guide me in the night. It is newly renovated however.

"Business"
D3875WKbarbaraw, 04 Septembre 2019

Location was excellent. Clean and nice rooms. Comfortable bed. Staff was helpful and attentive. We were able to walk all over. Also the doors lock at 10 which gave us an extra sense of security. Good value

"Four days in Bordeaux"
N4976FNAbbie, 01 Septembre 2019

A quiet boutique hotel which is close to attractions such as The Grand Theatre, also close to trams, shopping, multiple dining precincts and the river. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.Very nicely decorated, quiet and clean hotel.

"Location, Location"
cumberland70, 08 Août 2019

This is a very nice, very clean and comfortable hotel formed I think from a number of old buildings. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The other main attraction is that it is in the centre of the wonderful city of Bordeaux, in a quiet street and about 200 metres from the Grand Theatre, central for the trams which can take you over a lot of the city, the tourist centre and many restaurants, and only a few minutes walk to the river where we had many enjoyable evening strolls. If shopping is your thing it is also close to the main shopping street. We did have breakfast here some mornings during our stay but, while very nice, at 17 euros seemed quite expensive. Our room was very nice with air conditioning, there is a lift, and a lounge area on the ground floor. If we were to return to Bordeaux we would happily return to this hotel, for what we wanted it was excellent, and did I mention the central location!

"Great location"
lsmith913060, 07 Août 2019

Nice hotel, shame there was no bar, didn't have breakfast there, it was very expensive (17 euros) lots of cafes nearby much cheaper. Stayed for 5 nights, so much to do in Bordeaux, could have stayed longer.

"Perfect hotel, perfect location"

We always stay at Best Western hotels. Always good quality . This was a really good hotel & the quality was excellent. Everything had been thought of in your room & the quality of fittings & bathrooms was excellent. Staff were helpful & efficient. We would stay here again as the location was perfect.

"Fabulous hotel and location"
dsaddi349844, 29 Juillet 2019

New decor, great facilities and such helpful staff. Room comfortable and quiet. Central to so many tourist sights in wonderful Bordeaux. Settled in very quickly and able to start sightseeing straight away. Thank you.

"Basic"
JasperRose, 28 Juillet 2019

This hotel is nothing special. We had a lovely time here, but wouldn't say it's great. The rooms are standard, the bathroom clean. The amenities don't look great. At least there's an elevator. The parking is a little confusing as it's part of a shopping centre complex and not very close to the hotel.

"Gem in a great location"
Toni740, 26 Juillet 2019

Newly refurbished hotel ... good sized rooms, very comfortable beds, excellent staff who were all courteous, helpful, ready to accommodate your request. Very good buffet breakfast and the location could not be better!

"Superbly restored boutique hotel"
Wishyouwent, 20 Juillet 2019

Absolutely loved our overnight stay at this boutique hotel, from the beautiful staircase and reception foyer to our deluxe room overlooking the avenue. The bathroom was nice with period styling. The hotel is within easy walking distance to all the local attractions. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Staff were very helpful and obliging, able to converse in English which was great as we spoke very little French. Definitely a hotel on our list to stay at again.

"Good location and spotlessly clean."
skm2007, 20 Juillet 2019

The location couldn't be better, right in the centre of Bordeaux and 1 min walk from the Tourist office, which was handy as this is the pick-up point for a lot of the tours. The staff were very friendly and the room was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The room is quite small though. even though I had selected the medium-sized option however, considering how little time I spent inside the room, it really didn't matter! I didn't have breakfast in the hotel, as I thought it was a bit overpriced, however, there are tons of options nearby where you can get a good value breakfast and also watch the world go by!

"Excellent Best Western in Bordeaux"
Inspire37145213585, 08 Juillet 2019

Excellent. Extremely well located hotel, with a highly supportive staff. Vey clean and spacious room, for a very acceptable price. I recommend the Best Western Premier HotelnBayonne Etche-Ona hotel highly.

"A Weekend enjoying Bourdeaux"
Cale10, 03 Juillet 2019

We spent a nice weekend hosted in the Best Western Hôtel Bayonne Etche-Ona and we really enjoyed the city. The hotel is perfectly located, and it´s perfect for a weekend. Probably the rooms are smaller than I expected and probably, for a longer stay it would be worse.

"Quick stop at Bordeaux"
Explorer48278647064, 01 Juillet 2019

Excellent location, friendly staff and great room. I was in Bordeaux for only one night but wish I stayed longer. I would like to stay in this hotel again and recommend to anyone who is looking for good value.

"Terrific location, amazing bathroom, very comfortable"
Bill J, 28 Juin 2019

This hotel consists of two separate buildings, Bayonne and Etche-Ona. That was a little confusing because the address our driver had was for Bayonne, but we stayed at Etche-Ona. But it was an easy walk around the corner to Etche-Ona. The staff was very helpful. Croissants were available in the reception area during the day. The beds were very comfortable. The room was quite nice, if smallish. The star of the show was the bathroom - two big sinks side-by-side, with plenty of storage place beneath. Best by far of our two week trip. Breakfast was very good, a nice buffet with scrambled eggs on offer, along with various meats, cheeses, pastries, and fruit. And excellent coffee and juice. The location is fantastic, just off the plaza in front of the Grand Theater. A short walk to the older part of the city with many shops and restaurants in the maze of streets. Also an easy walk to the tram, which made it easy to get around, including to the City of Wine museum all the way across town. We would absolutely return.

"Central & comfortable"
Pioneer35271267032, 27 Juin 2019

Very clean, well designed and top location. Room was a bit small but well decorated and with a good size bathroom with all you need provided.. Breakfast is good and staff was very helpfull and pleasant.

"Not really a boutique hotel"
GailD1096, 25 Juin 2019

We recently stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. It is very well placed to see the main attractions of Bordeaux and is close to a convenient tram line. The staff were always pleasant and the place was very clean. We had a largish room (No 101) with a spectacular bathroom that was large enough to make a single bedroom. I think this may have been one of their accessible rooms as there was a good walk-in shower and a hand rail by the loo. Unfortunately the room was rather gloomy so not one you would have wanted to relax in during the day. To read you had to keep the lights on. The storage space was inadequate with a single small wardrobe with only a foot of full length hanging space by the time you had accounted for the safe and two cubby holes for hotel dressing gowns and slippers. The only drawer was in the writing table but the room could have done with a chest of drawers and also a sofa and there would still have been room to turn a wheelchair. The decoration may have been expensive but it was decidedly plain. I notice from other reviews that when people have complained about the facilities in their room the standard response seems to be that they should upgrade and pay more. In a proper boutique hotel the management would be hoping to give every guest an excellent experience. Breakfast was first class with a large range of quality choices and the main breakfast room was stylishly decorated but horribly cramped.

"Perfect location"
tillytheminx, 22 Juin 2019

This was our first visit to Bordeaux and having stayed at other hotels in Best Western group we elected to stay at Bayonne Etche-Ona where we found the rooms rather small although the bathroom was of a good size, the beds were comfy and pillows soft. The wardrobe was small and housed the safe which you needed to kneel on the floor to access once your clothes were handing from the rail. The hairdryer in the bathroom was the worst system that I have come across okay for drying hair but totally useless for trying to style hair. I was very disappointed when requesting an early morning call together with a taxi booking for our morning flight, that we didn't receive the morning call, this prompted me to visit reception to double check our taxi was ordered, no apology was forthcoming. There also was some confusion regarding Best Western rewards, on presenting the card at check in although registered on your system I was informed they would need the card at checkout in order to receive the points, however this was not the case, on presenting the card I was informed the card was already registered, this left me very confused and wondering if I will receive the points.

"Located in the Heart of Bordeaux"
JMijaresSF, 18 Juin 2019

This was a neat hotel to stay in. Located in the heart of Bordeaux, you only have to walk half a block to the right and you're at Notre Dame de Bordeaux. Walk half a block to the left and you're at Opera National de Bordeaux. Rue de Sainte Catherine is nearby, as are all of the shopping and eating, from fancy to decently priced. Some might consider the rooms small, but having staying in Japanese business hotels, I'm used to small, though the HBEO's rooms are slightly larger. The room was very quiet, great for getting a good night's rest. There's a Nespresso in the room and you get two complementary pods and a bottle of water. Hotel staff, from the ladies at the front desk to housekeeping, were very friendly and knowledgeable. One of them even recommended a great running path for me which turned out to be a nice way to explore the city. There's no onsite parking, but the Grands Homme parking garage is a three minute walk.

"Terrific location"
putnik123, 17 Juin 2019

Actually there are two hotels with this name in two different locations (just around the corner from one another). If a taxi drops you off at one hotel, it may turn out that your room is in the other. But the hotel is in a great location, just half a block off of the main theater square, with beautiful buildings and good restaurants nearby. Two tram lines come together here, but the one from the train station (C) was not working during our visit. The tourist office is just one block away. The rooms are well appointed, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff is friendly and helpful.

"Brilliant location"
Bilje113, 07 Juin 2019

Very good smallish 4 star hotel in the heart of Bordeaux city. So it is easy to walk to all the main shopping streets and the places of historic interest. Also only a short walk to the river. If you wish to go further afield there is a tram stop almost outside the hotel. Very helpful reception staff.

"Vert Good location"
DagJohansen, 03 Juin 2019

Nice small Hotel, friendly staff, Good standard rooms, perhaps a bit small rooms, but not a problem! You can walk to everything, perfect close to Place the Comedie! this was the second time I used this hotel.

"Brilliant Bordeaux"
nltw, 02 Juin 2019

Fabulous city break and we also took a train excursion to St Emilion. Loved the historic buildings and huge choice of restaurants. All major sights within walking distance of the hotel - we walked a lot!

"Excellent!"
ted_lelekas, 28 Mai 2019

Fantastic location and very polite and friendly staff are the main attributes of this hotel. The rooms are nice, clean and well equipped and in general a great stay is guaranteed. Especially recommended for city breaks in Bordeaux, as the best shops, restaurants and places of interest are within walking distance. I will definitely be back!

"Boutique hotel with excellent location and staff."
PCTraveler46, 23 Mai 2019

This hotel has been recently renovated and was beautifully done. It has a 4 star rating. We got upgraded to a suite so we had lots of room with two baths. The room was immaculate and very quiet. The location of the hotel is right in the center of the old city and the pedestrian walking area. If you want to get beyond your walking distance the tram runs right nearby. They offer a nice buffet breakfast at an additional cost. The staff was excellent and very helpful and attentive.

"Great hotel"
Getaway03348593981, 17 Mai 2019

Ideal location, service was prompt. The newly renovated room was classy and elegant. Perfect quiet room and internet connection was efficient. Late checking in was well attended at the reception and room is well equipped with a great coffee machine!

"Very small rooms but clean and convenient"
clubnev, 16 Mai 2019

This hotel is located in the old town part of Bordeaux by the shopping area. Convenient location, friendly staff. Rooms are tiny but the bathroom had a soaking tub and was modern. Nice place to stay for an overnight trip.

"Amazing Staff with an unbeatable location"
Pramod K, 16 Mai 2019

I have been coming to Bordeaux for the Wine Exhibition for 2 Decades. My regret is why did I not discover this hotel earlier. Great front office staff. Without Mauds help I would have problems with my next days flight. She went out of her way to assist me in sending a UPS package. Excellent clean rooms with spacious bathroom with modern fittings. The location is perhaps the very best. Quiet but 5 minutes walk to the shopping street as well as Cafes and attractions.

"The extra large suite was awesome. Great value for the money spent."
Climber66704754143, 12 Mai 2019

This room appeared to have been upgraded recently. New windows, designed with very good taste. Two televisions, sofa. Several rooms. Only suggestion is it could have used a bidet...or at least a portable sprayer bidet. We could have spent a month here.

"Handy hotel"
evelynfield11, 07 Mai 2019

It is very close to the Bordeaux centre , nice and quiet, clean, smallish rooms , good breakfast, lacks charm in the room decor, ok in general areas, very expensive due to its position, very nice staff. I stayed there to be close to a conference, the conference organisers suggested it as an option.

"Great location"
Penyfro, 06 Mai 2019

Good quality rooms in excellent location close old town, tram stop within easy walking distance. Lots of bars, cafes etc within short distance. Staff very attentive and spoke good English, recommended and booked restaurant on first night

"Again alovely stay at a property within a breaths distance of everything."
sniemira, 05 Mai 2019

I thought last time I stayed here that really I had found the perfect place in Bordeaux. My last review here told of how this hotel saved my stay and therefore when we came back this time it was a no brainer to stay again. We were not disappointed. The room was perfectly amendable. Really comfortable bed with good shower and nice surroundings. There is a small gym if you wish to utilise this and a small breakfast room. The staff are happy to work with you if like us you are really tired and have a lie in. The location could not be better as it is next to the opera house, a short walk from the Golden Triangle and equidistant from all of the shops and restaurants. The river only a short distance further. really the perfect spot to enjoy this amazing city. I would not go anywhere else. Just a small criticism I was given a late check out as it was my birthday and yet really had to push for it as the communication was not up to scratch. However, did get this in the end and the staff were lovely. Will be back.

"great location"
Jeffrey H, 03 Mai 2019

The hotel is in a great location and the value for the money can't be beat. The staff is also very helpful. You could not ask for anything more by staying at this hotel if you are looking for a decent hotel, great location and comfortable rest.

"Fantastic"
niftydublin55, 29 Avril 2019

We spent a week here recently. The location is perfect within walking distance of the main sights and right beside public transport. The reception staff were extremely helpful especially Maria and Florian. The bedroom was disappointing badly designed with very little storage space. Only one drawer in the whole room. I felt the bathroom was unsafe as there isnt a grab rail or an anti slip mat in the bath. There isn't a walk in shower. Breakfast is expensive at €15. You can get a very good breakfast nearby for half the price.

"Horrible room and bad breakfast"
Culture13631933441, 22 Avril 2019

By far it was the worst room I have ever seen in a 4 star hotel: very small with a terrible bathroom without bathtub. The breakfast is catastrophic, no choice in a very tiny area, where clients are literally piled on each other, with only one person for the service. This hotel is definitely not worth the price, even if the location is good.

"Two nights in Bordeaux Centre at a Hotel"
Passenger57003537679, 20 Avril 2019

Best Western Premier Hotel Bayonne Etche-Ona is brilliantly situated for easy access to the trams and sights. We had a std room which was very clean and comfy. We asked for a quiet room as we are used to country living, and it was! The windows are quadruple glazed... Teas and coffees in the room were limited to 2 cups and after that there's a charge. The fancy coffee machine was wasted on us as we'd just like a dinky kettle and more tea and instant coffee... Breakfast is good but overpriced in our opinion at €17 pp. Everything is delicious except the sausage of which I had one bite and had to leave...BTW, I love sausages usually. If you're on a long tourist stay then get a day pass or two from the nearby tourist office for lots of sights and travel. If on business, don't bother. Our room was a bit small, but accessible nevertheless, and to be expected in a central hotel at this price. The shower and toilet were very good, powerful, clean and with pplenty of toiletries. Overall, pretty good, a tad overpriced and a bit stingey on drinks

"Terrific welcome and service"
Annie K, 16 Avril 2019

The staff on reception are so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble - maps, suggestions where to eat, booking taxis, trains. You name it they were happy to do it! Spotless rooms, lovely decor and right in the centre of Bordeaux. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you!

"Service with the most wonderful smile."
MEM777, 08 Avril 2019

Situated in a street just off the main square in front of the Grand Theatre, this hotel is the perfect location for exploring the beautiful city of Bordeaux. The rooms are spotless and well equipped, air conditioned and really comfortable bed. Proximity to the city tram was a real bonus and we were also withi walking distance of all the major city attractions and restaurants. Rooms were serviced promptl each day of our stay which I really appreciated. Reception staff were courteous and helpful but that smile belonged to Maria who was absolutely exceptional. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and her recommendations were spot on each time. Customer care at its best.

"My wife didn't like the lighting"
Mike H, 05 Avril 2019

This hotel is located in a great spot near the square and close to many restaurants. We arrived on a "Saturday and it turned out to be at the time of the festival. The taxi could not get us to the hotel because roads were blocked off. We did get close enough to walk in a round about way. My wife complained about the lighting in the room for makeup. The customer service was good but the elevator to the front desk is in a small area around the corner with a mirror facing the elevator probably so that you can find it. The dining room is small for breakfast and it is cramped. But all things considered it isn't a bad place to stay.

"I am not quite sure why this hotel has four stars"
N C, 01 Mars 2019

I am really not sure how this hotel can have four stars. I can only speak for the room at which I was accommodated and must say it was plain horrible: It was microscopic with no space. The bed was like a niche with maybe 33 cm to the left and right of the bed untilt he wall. The mattress was very uncomfortable too and seemed "worn". The entrance door to the room (I seem to remember it was room 102 or 112) was also sad and reminded be of the door to enter the broom closets in schools in Sweden back in the 1990s. I cannot really say that at 150 eur per nigth the hotel was very expensive, but neither was it at all cheap and considering the quality of the room I do not know why this should cost this amount. At checkout the girl at reception was very nice, but that is really all positive I can say about the hotel + that it is conveniently located in the middle of Bordeaux.

"Excellent Choice"
Viagg16, 15 Janvier 2019

The hotel is very well located with easy proximity to the tram lines, restaurants and shopping. Our room was spotless and comfortable. We did not avail ourselves of the hotel's breakfast as there was an abundance of patisseries and cafes nearby. Also, there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

"Highly recommended "
RobAdams35, 06 Janvier 2019

Stayed for one night for friends birthday visit. Staff exemplary, very professional, courteous and helpful. Room and bathroom very nice, bed super comfy. Will definitely stay there next time I am in Bordeaux.

"Very pleasant stay"
ELizaveta_23, 31 Décembre 2018

Stayed for a night and were very pleased with the quality of the service. Polite and pleasant staff. Very good quality of sleep/bed. Super central and just behind the main touristic street with all the shops and restaurants.

"Chic hotel in the heart of Bordeaux"
Anne M, 09 Décembre 2018

Two buildings recently fully renovated with the finest materials. Luxurious rooms and amenities. Friendly and helpful staff. Located on two quiet streets in the heart of Bordeaux and just steps from the tram and a short walk to the tourist office. Perfect for business and pleasure. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful experience.

"Art Deco Near the Center"
Peripatetic_Engineer, 22 Novembre 2018

This recently renovated art deco style hotel is convenient to the city center. Typical of BW in Europe, the hotel is a renovated historical building. Rooms tend to be small but are well equipped with a mini bar and safe. The bathroom had a rain shower as well as a hand shower. Breakfast is available and while there is no restaurant, a bar/lounge is planned. Staff here is friendly and all were very helpful.

"Superb Hotel with very reasonable price for value"
S_Mastel, 10 Novembre 2018

Our stay at the Best Western Bayonne was exceeding our expectations. We went to bordeaux for a very short period of time (only 2 days transfer) and felt that the Best Western is location wise the perfect spot to stay for us. Once we arrive we ve been welcomed very kindly by the owner of the hotel. After the short conversation, also retrieving 1st hand suggestions about Bordeaux and the important activities of it, we had a short tour through the hotels facilities. The rooms were very clean and had their own charm, complementing the culture of Bordeaux but also had influence of the 'Belle Epoque' which we really liked. Overall I would say that the rooms were offering exactly what we needed. The staff was all the time very kind and attentive which I didn't really expect. We are happy to recommend this hotel to every traveler due to its' nice quality and also because of it s perfect centre location, just a few minutes (max 5) away of the main Piazza, where you will find some amazing restaurants, wine bars and rooftops. Thank you again for hosting us, it was truely enjoyable.

"Everything perfect"
B Y, 25 Octobre 2018

Great location short walk from Quinconces B & C tram. One block to Opera Square. Pleasant staff, Good continental breakfast. Room had all pluses: quiet corner room, good lighting, comfy bed, fridge, coffee maker, free bottled water daily, free Wi-FI.

"Great location"
Stephanie P, 19 Septembre 2018

Good hotel in a great location. Walking distance to sites, shopping and restaurants. Nice staff and housekeeping. Water and Nespresso machine in the room. Room for two was teensy relative to price, and aside from a very small closet there was little room for luggage or to unpack.

"Superb location, decent room and amenities"
TJIH, 16 Septembre 2018

The hotel is very conveniently located only a hundred or so meters away from Place de la Comédie where the main streets of Bordeaux converge and hence in a short walking distance from a lot of attractions, restaurants, shops and the Garonne river. Also, tram line B has a stop in just around the corner from the Rue Martignac entrance. For those looking for a decent supermarket, there's a Carrefour at the nearby Marché des Grands Hommes shopping center and a Monoprix at the Saint-Christoly shopping center a bit farther. The Club Comfort room was not that large, but there was still enough space for two people to simultaneously navigate comfortably. The basic features and amenities like the air conditioning, the bathroom facilities, the bed and the mattresses and pillows were of good quality even though the amount of storage space (wardrobe, bedside tables) was very limited. Our room was facing to an isolated inner yard and there was no noise from the street at all. There is no restaurant in the hotel, only a cocktail lounge, but considering the offering in the vicinity, this should be no issue. A pricey French-style breakfast was served in the small lounge, however, it seemed to be more or less comparable to the offering available in the neighborhood. Check-in and check-out were completely smooth. Since we arrived a couple of hours before the check-in time (15:00), our luggage was taken in the storage and once we returned, it was already waiting for us in the room. Check-out only took a moment, and the receptionist already had a phone in her hand to order the taxi before I asked. The staff in general was very helpful and they were fluent enough in English.

"Great Location and Rooms, Poor service and Breakfast"
woodgreenforest, 15 Septembre 2018

A amazing location in Bordeaux although expensive and customer service wasn't the best. A number of people including us didn't go back for the breakfast because of the poor quality, lack of service/care for guests. We weren't prepared to pay 5 euros for an omelette or another 5 euros for a glass of orange juice on top of the 17+ euros for the breakfast they offer. We were the one table at breakfast yet needed to go and ask reception for help to get someone to serve us coffee which was very poor quality. Would have appreciated some service or care factor. We ended up searching for local options rather than struggle with this every morning. After mentioning to reception we'd like to eat elsewhere for the remainder of our trip we were met with arrogance and hostility which we didn't expect and made us feel uncomfortable for the following days (there was only one woman who treated us rudely and like we weren't welcome). Gym is very basic with no weights and poorly kept. No lights or a/c in the gym at any time of the day....even though we had requested early access to the gym on one of the days.

"Great location if you don't travel by car"
JerzyK118, 11 Septembre 2018

The hotel is modern and adequate, but I wouldn't call is great except for the location. In particular, the room was ridiculously small for a couple. Most of its space was occupied by the queen bed, and we kept bumping into each other or into the furniture while trying to walk around it. Same with a small and cramped bathroom. The location, though great, has some drawback if you're arriving by car, as we did. The hotel doesn't have a parking. The nearest underground parking is some 400 m away and you need to be prepared to shlep your luggage over the cobblestones over this distance. You also pay for the parking through your nose. I believe the rate is ca. 24-30 euros per 24 hours. The hotel claims to have a discount, and handed us a card to use when exiting the park. However, this system is highly complicated, and didn't work for us ("card expired"), and there was no attendant to ask for help. In the end we payed double. My advice: if arriving by car in Bordeaux, choose a different hotel outside the city center with its own parking, and use the tramways to commute.

"Would stay again!"
UandB, 10 Septembre 2018

The hotel is in the perfect location, just around the corner from the main square and main shopping area. The staff are excellent, helpful and informative. The bathroom was small but very cleverly designed, and really well finished. The bedroom was small, but we didn't spend too much time in it so it didn't matter. The bed however was a little too small, just your regular double bed. Otherwise it was a 5!

"Excellent value"
european-traveler101, 07 Septembre 2018

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. They have 2 locations one block from each other. The first one is next to the Intercontinental hotel and the other one is behind. I guess we got lucky and went directly to the right one. It would be helpful to make the location clearer at booking. When you look at the Intercontinental hotel, take the street to the right. You will walk by the first location. The room (#124) is small but ok. It was very clean. The AC worked great. We don't really like rain showers but the bathroom was fine. The front desk staff is very nice and they always have croissants waiting for you. They also gave us extra water on our first day as the supermarket was closed on Sunday. There could be more English speaking channels on TV.

"Small Boutique Hotel in great position"
TonyinOz, 03 Septembre 2018

Great position, but tiny bedroom, bathroom ok, best bed we have slept in, expensive breakie, half price down road! Very helpful and friendly staff good aircon. Rrecommended for the price and position, a bit hard to find, need to check wnich building you are in to help taxi driver.

"Amazing location!"
Evilmisspolite, 02 Septembre 2018

This place has an amazing location. It's just a few steps away from St. Catherine shopping street and other popular attractions. Rooms are clean but very small. Reception is also cramped. Breakfast is very basic. Croissants, cheese, yogurt, scrambled eggs..among other small things. The only nice thing about breakfast was that you can boil your own eggs. Be aware that the reception closes at 10:30pm, and that they have another location around the corner, so you might have to check in the other side if you plan to arrive late. I would only stay here again because of the great location and good price.

"Great location"
stansthanunathan, 24 Août 2018

Really fantastic location. Highly recommended place. Good but not great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Elevator has some quirks!! It can be a bit annoying. It stops at level 0 even if u have not pressed the button!!

"Nice experience overall "
travel4funatlanta, 15 Août 2018

Fantastic location. Cannot ask for anything better. Highly recommended just for location Good room with great a/c!!! Breakfast good but not great. Not exactly value for money Elevator is a bit irritating. Every time you want to get to street level and press RC the elevator stops at level 0 before processing to RC. It is more irritating in the way up!! U have to keep flashing your key card near the reader at least 3 times before we could get to 3rd floor Very polite and efficient staff I would recommend this hotel surely

"quality to price"
Paula H, 11 Août 2018

I love the Best Western premier chain of hotels in Europe, an ideal option for the individual traveler: always in a top central location, an adequately priced boutique hotel very well managed which make you feel pampered and given the attention of a guest of honor. In contrast to bigger hotels, located next door, that are pricey, anonymous, and cold. I just spent a week at Bordeaux Bayonne best Western and enjoyed tremendously the central location and impeccable service. Thank you! Pauline H

"Please stay here and do yourself a favour"
David W, 02 Août 2018

Excellent location with fantastic staff and the rooms were the best we have stayed in anywhere in Europe. The access to the main areas is just a stone throw and the restaurants are everywhere. Walking is a must and no transport is required. Will come back here again.

"Beautiful Bordeaux"
Mark P, 15 Juillet 2018

This is a fine, modern hotel, great rooms, great service from very knowledge staff who speak multiple languages and are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the middle of everything so you can walk to most places or take a tram if it is a bit further out or to get to the train station. The hotel is very clean and so quiet! I recommend the breakfast which is an all-you-can-eat full buffet and less expensive than the surrounding cafes. The price was a bit over our usual budget but it was peak time in summer and we took a superior room, so worth paying a few extra sheckles.

"Excellent place to stay in Bordeaux - AC was appreciated"
Kim H, 14 Juillet 2018

We stayed several nights and felt we were in the heart of the city. Plenty of places to eat and areas to walk in. The room was very nice and the AC was wonderful. It was not a fake temperature and we appreciate that very much to sleep comfortably. When we return to Bordeaux again we will be back.

"Best location, excellent condition, expensive considering the size of the room"
michelvoyageur2018, 09 Juillet 2018

We were upgraded to a higher category. The bathroom was large and bright, but the room was not very spacious. The location is perfect to visit Bordeaux, close to shops, restaurants, and public transportation. High prices in Bordeaux town center.

"You will not find a better location at the price"
tony c, 02 Juillet 2018

This hotel is close to everything you might want to do in a short visit to Bordeaux. As you might expect it is safe, comfortable, well appointed and quiet, with helpful and welcoming staff. Note that both parts of the hotel are very small, with limited public areas and small and crowded breakfast rooms. If all you want for breakfast is coffee and croissant, there are many options close by, but if you prefer a fuller breakfast, I would advise that you take the hotel's - it is busy but the staff work hard. For lovers of expense, luxury and grand spaces, the Intercontinental is round the corner - I would recommend the BW, however!

"Beautiful Bordeaux"
Wendy M, 30 Juin 2018

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel while visiting beautiful Bordeaux. We had a suite which I think was the largest room in the hotel. It was great for a longer stay. The staff were helpful. But the breakfast was just adequate. Location was outstanding with a quick walk to lots of shops, restaurants and bars. We loved Bordeaux and plan to go back someday.

"A very pleasant and well appointed hotel just off the main square"
Michael V, 24 Juin 2018

The room was reasonably spacious - lots of hanging space etc. A very nice bathroom with walk in shower. No view though - and we did pay extra for a superior room. Breakfast was 17 euros each - so we gave it a miss - plenty of cafes in the square. A nice, peaceful, well appointed hotel

"Stylish and with a great location"
Michael L, 24 Juin 2018

A very comfortable 5 night stay in a "Club Comfort" double room. The bed was large and extremely comfortable; the room was quiet, impeccably clean and well appointed. It was small, and did not have a lot of storage or desk space (one large wardrobe, with shelves and a safe); but served us well. The Smart TV had a great picture, although we could only find 2 English channels. They could do a better job of providing instructions for its use. I agree with other travelers about the Nespresso. The machine was great and easy to use, but you only have one regular and one decaf packet at a time in the room. The bathroom was large, with double sinks, hairdryer and a rainfall shower with plenty of hot water. There were robes, slippers, great towels and amenities. The lobby is small, but warm and inviting. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The only warning I'd give is to be sure you know which property you are staying in: this hotel has two parts in separate buildings around the corner from each other. There are two separate reception areas, and they are not connected. Our taxi dropped us off at the wrong one, and we had to then carry our luggage out of it and around the corner about 200 feet down a cobblestone street to get to the right place. I'd also skip the breakfast. There are some great places very close at better prices.

"Great Location "
Sheilasam, 20 Juin 2018

Couldn't have been more central for getting around Bordeaux on foot or public transport. Room small but served the purpose for a 5 night break. Not much hanging space for 2 people. Bed very comfortable and bottled water provision was most welcome. Nespresso machine a nuisance- and with only two sachets provided a day for 2 people there is no margin for error. A simple kettle would fare better. Would recommend the hotel for a stay in the City-but skip breakfast as it is expensive and there are plenty of alternative places available on the doorstep.

"Perfect location Perfect hotel."
TheFloodys, 16 Juin 2018

Beautifully refurbished, spotlessly clean, comfy beds, great air con and lovely toiletries. We had a big bathroom and a large walk in rainfall shower. Perfect location for getting arround Bordeaux and restaurants and bars. Thought the breakfast expensive at €17 pp so we ate out.

"Center or Internet?"
Goodbunny415, 11 Juin 2018

This hotel is located in the center of the city that is very convenient. It's also very clean - especially the bathroom. For some people it can be important- the toilet and the bathroom have different entrances. The towels are thicker and larger than in many other French hotels. Our room was a reasonable size. The issue that is important to know in advance is their parking situation. The hotel is situated in a pedestrian zone, so you can't unload your suitcases in front of this hotel. You will need to drive to a public parking and then carry your luggage 300-400 meters to the hotel. And if you don't know where the public parking is, if you are not comfortable with European small parking spaces and if you are not so comfortable with manual cars, that can be a little overwhelming. And finally the Internet signal was absolutely unacceptable. Both days the downloading speed was 1 and uploading speed 0.05. Nothing can be sent or received. So if you care to be in a clean hotel in the center of the city - choose the Best Western, if reliable connection to the Internet is important to you - find a different hotel.

"Beautiful hotel in Bordeaux"
mcewen589, 11 Juin 2018

This is a really lovely hotel, absolutely perfect location in Bordeaux. I was upgraded to a suite, which was peaceful and spacious. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. You are minutes away from all that is available in the city centre and, trust me, if historic surroundings, great restaurants and magnificent wine are for you, then look no further than this city & I heartily recommend this hotel as the place to stay while there.

"Heart of Bordeaux"
ChrisABeaune, 31 Mai 2018

Over two visits, we stayed in each hotel of the Etche Ona, on rue Martignac and on cours de l"Intendance. Both hotels have recently been refurbished and were very comfortable, albeit the (standard) rooms were small. Nice bathrooms. The staff, which seems to flow between the two, were exceedingly friendly and helpful, from lugging luggage to helping with the lobby computer. Housekeeping was very good: they even realized we disliked the heavy quilt and added a single top sheet. Beds were good, towels were thick and they even provided a washcloth. Breakfast was adequate in crowded dining rooms. The best thing about the hotel(s) is their location, right in the heart of Bordeaux.

"Perfect Location "
virginia70, 17 Mai 2018

This hotel, though not a grand hotel, does a terrific job of serving its guests in a friendly and helpful way. The female front desk staff is charming and helpful. You can't find a better location in Bordeaux, and it's a good price. We were happy with this choice.

"Small but perfectly formed"
Angela B, 17 Mai 2018

This is a Great hotel in central Bordeaux which is perfect for business travellers or tourists alike. The rooms are large and well appointed with all the amenities you would expect. Bordeaux is such a beautiful city that I would expect guests not to be spending a lot of time in their hotel.

"Very good Hotel Great location"
braidmacd, 01 Mai 2018

Right on the tram line and you can connect most anywhere. Nice clean rooms with modern bathrooms. Good Wifi. We skipped the €17 breakfasts , did one breakfast at the Marche, that was fun, pastries, tapas and oysters for breakfast. We walked to the three restaurants where we had dinner ( L'Entercote, Le Noilailles, , Melodie as well as Boites Huitres and Bistro Montesquieu for lunch They have an annex, fully staffed a block away. It is a €10 cab fare from the train station and €50 taxi to the airport

"Helped us out when our original hotel was so bad we had to leave, Thanks!"
sniemira, 07 Avril 2018

My husband and I had managed to book the hotel du theatre for its location, but on arrival found that it was way below standard. Due to Easter we had to spend one night there, please see review, but were rescued by Best Western Premier for the other three, The staff here were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough tto ensure that your stay was comfortable. They stored our bags safely on arrival and departure and had them taken up to our room. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was generous. I must also say that the location is second to none, in a quiet street a short walk from the opera house and within the golden triangle for shops and restaurants. All of Bordeaux in front of you. I would recommend it.

"Good location, basic hotel"
diamen56, 04 Avril 2018

Hotel is actually rather basic for such a price. Nothing special, not any particular atmosphere. Staff is good but not extra either. Everything is good but nothing is Great or excpetional lets say... except the location! Location is just amazing, everything so close around! Rooms are rather biggish so quite comfy to stay at... One weird thing is the lift though....super slow and stops every single time at the reception....

"Great location"
Becky L, 21 Mars 2018

This hotel has 2 locations which are a few steps from each other. I was told one building has bigger rooms than the other. Both buildings are at excellent location, just few steps away from the Grand Theater and InterContinental. The room ( comfort Club Level) we had was very tide for 2 adults and we only had carry-on luggages. If we had 26” check-in luggages, it would had been a fire safety concern. I was told because we were staying for 4 nights, they couldn't give us a bigger room, funny way to service customers who stay longer! Also, the big mirror next to the closet was useless due to lack of lighting. It maybe trivial, but I find it funny to provide only one regular and one decaf coffee pods for the Nespresso in a room with 2 guests? Most of the time, the front desk staff were very friendly. We do love the location though, we walked everywhere, and took the tram to the City of Wine.

"Nice hotel in excelent location"
MarkAdriaanse, 14 Mars 2018

The hotel is located in the middle of the city centre next to the high street (with luxury brands like Hermes and Louis Vuitton) and close to all the interesting things to see and do in Bordeaux. The hotel had a classic lobby but the rooms and bathroom were modern and clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff did speak fluent English and was friendly and helpful. As Bordeaux offers more than enough very good restaurants (but it turned out there are not as many restaurants for breakfast) so I did not book for the breakfast in the hotel.

"Great place to stay in central Bordeaux "
BobMiller65, 11 Février 2018

This hotel is in a great location The hotel has been refurbished and the rooms are very well presented especially the bathrooms Breakfast is good The only down is there is no restaurant However you are surrounded by great eating places

"Fantastic, modern room in the best location. "
Dean S, 03 Janvier 2018

Really like this hotel. Fantastic location, free upgrade. Room and bathroom are beautiful. Very helpful staff and 50% discount on car park. Very close to all must sees and bars. Only criticism is no English TV. But we are in holiday. The shower is brilliantly.

"Staff, cleanliness, and location "
Captabdlee, 02 Janvier 2018

When I write a review or evaluate a hotel, My main point is the staff. The staff can make you enjoy your stay even if you are staying in 2 stars hotel, in the contrary they can make you feel the opposite even if you are staying in 7 stars hotel. This hotel has the perfect staff, I can't praise them enough. Moreover, spotless rooms and perfect location. If you are planning to stay in Bordeaux, you will not need a car as you will be in the center and surrounded by several cafes, restaurants, and shops of several high end brands. Finally, the house keeping found a personal item that I forgot to pack, I received an email to advise me about it and to check if I would like the hotel to mail it to my address. Well done.

"Great location, very clean"
User, 01 Décembre 2017

We stopped for one night in Bordeaux and we are very pleased we chose this hotel. It is in the city centre within walking distance from restaurants/bars . The room is quite small but very clean (thank you Khadija!). We were extremely pleased with this hotel and will definitely stay here again!

"Tucked Away"
Pat5414, 07 Novembre 2017

When arriving via cab from the train station we were dropped off at the "main hotel" only to find out our room (twin room) was actually at the adjacent property just a little way down the street and around the corner. Our room was not ready on arrival (approx 3pm) however since we chose to sit in the lobby they seemed to hurry to finish up. Nice room with a great shower. The breakfast was good with a very nice selection. Loved the location close to the main square, tram line, etc., yet tucked away on a side street. The highlight was hearing the music from the square!

"Pre cruise 1 night stay on Rue Mautrec part of hotel"
lignum, 15 Octobre 2017

The location just behind the Grand Hotel could not be better. Convenient for shops, trams, river etc. We got a bit lost trying to find it getting off the airport bus at Meriadeck as it is not straightforward for a stranger. The directions say to walk past the cinema which you cannot see from the bus stop. Our de luxe room was a good size with 5 foot bed (had wrongly assumed a 6 foot would come with de luxe) with a huge new shower room. Coffee maker in room with minimal items on tray ( 1 tea bag ) and no kettle for tea. Always a gripe for English people ! The breakfast buffet was very good with a hot option as well as continental, and eggs to boil yourself. There was smoked salmon to go with the scrambled eggs. All staff encountered were lovely, so helpful. Tram line B is near the hotel which made getting to our cruise from Quai Chartrons very easy. It is 3 stops and 1.60 euros each. We would stay here again.Bordeaux is a lovely city with friendly people.

"Great stay"
DanielAiroldi, 15 Octobre 2017

Stayed 10 days in total. Very nice rooms, clean and well looked after. Lovely, attentive staff, this hotel is in a seriously great location, close to attractions, tram stops and shops. I'll be back, loved it that much!

"This is a wonderful hotel"
teacher050, 12 Octobre 2017

I must admit that when I made the online reservation for this hotel, I was less than excited since I'm not fond of chain hotels. Having stayed just one night at the Etche-Ona, I now count this hotel among my very favorites. This is not a "prestigious" hotel, yet everything about it was just perfect. The location, the wonderful staff, the tastefully modern guest room and public spaces, the breakfast buffet -- everything was perfect in every way. The location could not be better. Directly across the street from the Grand Theatre and in the heart of the centre ville, yet tucked away in a quiet, side street, the hotel is within walking distance of lots of tourist attractions, including several really good, really popular restaurants. There is a pedestrian zone close by with lots of shops, and the waterfront with its beautiful "miroir d'eau" is minutes away. Absolutely perfect location. The staff is among the nicest and friendliest I've encountered. In addition to helping me with questions about restaurants, taxis, and the like, the women at the reception desk went out of their way to engage me in conversation, which I really appreciated since I was traveling alone. I really loved my room. It was modern and spare and spotlessly clean. Good natural lighting, too. The bathroom was more than adequate, and I was delighted to find two wash cloths! And the shower worked equally well as a handheld and stationery shower. Complimentary bottles of water were a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was ample: yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, hard cooked eggs, sausage, smoked salmon, a variety of bread and cheese, juices, and hot beverages. Nice presentation. I would come here again and again, and I would recommend this hotel heartily to any traveller.

"Solid 3-star hotel"
Patrick C, 21 Septembre 2017

Very nice boutique hotel with some notable pluses and minuses. Excellent location within easy walking distance to major highlights including the tourism center, restaurants, the opera and associated plaza, and upscale shopping. Very convenient to the tram which is convenient to getting around. Excellent staff, wonderful full buffet breakfast. On the negative side, there is no in-house parking. One must drop their bags off in the entry way off a narrow alleyway, then drive to a parking garage and walk back. Not too burdensome unless it is raining. The lift will only accommodate two people and two bags. Negotiating the parking garage (including payment) is not straightforward. No bar in the restaurant! The standard room is quite small--two people with two suitcases fills the room. Bathroom is excellent, especially the shower set up. The breakfast room is small and cramped, the chairs are too big for the tables. Breakfast staff are very helpful, and when too crowded, a sister hotel/restaurant is right around the corner (note, be sure to confirm which Best Western you a registered for). All-in-all a solid 3-star hotel. Would I stay here again? Probably, now that I know the drawbacks, but in an upgraded room.

"Great location"
Eva L, 08 Septembre 2017

Our room was nice but small. The basin was wrong designed so there was water all over the place, very annoying. Nice france breakfast, where you can boil your own egg. The location makes up for everthing!

"Great location, clean and tidy"
lvchuyeebb, 04 Septembre 2017

It's located in the heart of main area, the opera, which enables walking distance to the entire city. Room is nice and clean. Nice staff at reception who are helpful and pleasant. Just there isn't much space in the public area but overall it's a very nice place to stay. FYI, ringing the bell to get inside is needed during 2200-0600. Think it's for security control, yet I feel like rushing back to Dom during childhood.

"Ideal hotel in the city center and very friendly staff"
Step-Phil B, 29 Août 2017

As soon as you come in, you feel welcome. The service is excellent, friendly and warm. You will be explained what you can visit, enjoy in the city. You have plenty of space in the room, bathrooms are modern and really pleasant. Every corner is tidy and congratulations for the Rituals products!

"Super Location, helpful staff, rooms could be a little better, lacking some `basic add ons'"
vicanberyl, 29 Août 2017

This, when we eventually `ratuionalised' its' location was a super choice. Originally 2 old houses were combined, accounting for a somewhat `eclectic' layout -- reception on the first floor; need to use room keycard to get lift functioning - but caught them 'on the hop' when 6 of us were stuck in the lift for over an hour very late one night. Hotel is in a small passage off one of the main streets, just round the corner from the Opera and round a facing corner from the main shopping street, rue St.Catherine. Didn't have the `expensive' breakfast on advice from other guests, but lots of eating places around. Location is perfect for sightseeing, most place within a few minutes walk, or it is very close to a tram stop - BTW one can buy a tram ticket which interchanges with the ferry boat if you fancy a `sail' or a simple trip to the Wine Museum ( a `must' though at 20 Euros, somewhat expensive. There is a restaurant with spectacuar views there ( 10th floor) but the food was disappointing. Much better value at the Ground Floor snack bar. Lots and lots of good eating places close by , (ask receptiion for recommendations ) mainly off r. St.Catherine and in 2 squares. Try Le Chien de Pavlov for a different take on dishes - amazing what the chef/patron can do with an egg, or some duck. Pity though they lacked knowledge of their wine list, but certainly a gastronomic experience at a reasonable ( for France) price. The rooms was reasonably goos. Alittle on the small side and lacking some of the extra toiletries; also restricting the amount of coffee available by the in room machine, although the staff were helpful in rectifying omissions and extra helpful using their computer to confirm flights and make reservations Bordeaux is certainly a place worth visiting for a few days and I would certainly recommend this hotel and stay there in future.

"Great city centre location."
Tim C, 29 Août 2017

Second visit to Bordeaux. On previous visit based ourselves too far out of town so lost out on a lot of city centre amenities. Hotel located over two properties. We stayed on Rue Mautrec. Quiet location with very little traffic. Room was spotless clean, every day. Good room facilities, tea/coffee maker and complimentary water supplied every day, excellent bathroom, however, in agreement with some other comments supplies were a bit on the skimpy side. Breakfast was basic but plentiful, usual selections with scrambled eggs the only warm food option. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location and close to all amenities.

"Not all rooms 4 star and it is guest responsibility to check housekeeping standard"
b183811, 25 Août 2017

Assigned v poor 3 star at best room without shower next to lift at check in. Asked for room with shower and was advised they were available at 10 Euro extra charge. Had a pleasant eveining in town and returned to hotels good central location for a reasonable nights sleep (can't expect silence in a city centre). Starting to use room facilities in the morning and discovered that none of the usual amenities were available - coffee machine but no coffee milk or tea, no shampoo or conditioner etc. Complained at check out but receptionist (after twice trying to charge 36 euros for breakfast we did not have and refused at both booking and check in) shrugged and advised it was our responsibility to check the room and report this on arrival.

"Excellent location, lovely staff"
elke9719, 24 Août 2017

We just returned today from beautiful Bordeaux and 3 nights in this hotel. Firstly, Bordeaux is a wonderful city and surpassed my expectations (which were already quite high). Secondly, this is a lovely hotel. It is in the old part of the city so don't expect huge rooms but you have everything you need - spotless clean, great shower, wonderfully helpful staff, good breakfast. Overall a charming place, will definitely return. To the hotel staff, thank you for a great stay!

"Wonderful Kind Staff a charming Hotel"
liskarin, 23 Août 2017

My partner and I stayed for 4 nights in August. My Partner got ill on our second night and the ladies at the front desk immediately got us to the Hospital took care of our luggage and all assistance for our comfort. The room was small and I would go with an upgrade next time. The bed was wonderful, fine linens and pillows, quite location. Perfect Location in the Pedestrian area. Great outdoor places all around to drink and eat and elegant shops everywhere the Opera House is 7 minutes slow walk and the major shopping street . The tram is very close and you can go everywhere for 1.50EU. I would stay again next time.

"Excellent deal for the location and amenities"
Ladybug0911, 31 Juillet 2017

We just returned from our trip to Bordeaux and could not be any happier with the hotel. The location is steps away from St. Catherine, the main road for shopping and dining, but is also only a few blocks away from the river, which is perfect for walking. It is easily accessible to out of the way alleys and side streets that boast less touristy restaurants and shops. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful. I left my phone in an Uber the first day and they were able to communicate with the driver in French (which I don't speak) to get it back to me and coordinate the meeting location. The rooms were ample for two people, were spotlessly cleaned, coffee and water was refreshed each day. We were a bit hesitant because the Best Western brand in the U.S. is not the most highly regarded, but this is our second experience at an overseas Best Western and it was excellent. I would highly recommend.

"Bordeaux City Centre"
JohnPratt88, 23 Juillet 2017

We are a family of four and our plan was to spend two nights in Bordeaux before travelling to the country and the vineyards. This hotel has a perfect location to view . the historic city centre . It is literally two minutes walk to all the major sites . As a 4 star hotel we would say location is its main benefit . The staff were pleasant and efficient but we didn't eat in the hotel because of all the restaurants available within walking distance . The biggest disappointment was the lack of toiletries - no conditioner or soap and no plug in the basins . Basic but not in any way luxurious. That said Bordeaux is such a beautiful city that you forgive this for the stunning location . Parking is not easy but for 15 euros per day ( special rate for the hotel ) there is secure parking within 100 metres of the hotel . We would certainly return to the hotel but would also look at alternatives.

"Welcoming and conveniently situated"
Julie F, 17 Juillet 2017

All fine and no complaints. Easy check in and helpful staff. Very convenient situation for walking around Bordeaux. Probably most enjoyed the ambience of the breakfast area and the quality of the buffet.

"Holiday to France"
George B, 16 Juillet 2017

We stayed here for two nights and the location is perfect it's on a small side street off one of the main squares and has excellent tram transport almost at the door. Tourist info centre and Gordon Ramsay's restaurant are around the corner. An abundance of top class Bistros, restaurants and wine shops surround you. The hotel was nicely decorated and our room was very comfortable and clean. I particularly liked the bathroom with double sinks and large shower. Breakfast buffet was small but adequate for our needs and the tea was served in a cute kettle shaped teapot which set my wife up for the day. Lovely Staff at reception and they speak very good English. We will return to this hotel and this lovely city.

"Great Hotel...difficult to drive to...lovely updates!"
Davi D, 19 Juin 2017

This hotel is perfectly located for walking the now beautiful city of Bordeaux! However, getting there to drop off your bags by car, even for the well-travelled, can be quite tricky. Still, having stayed there many years ago, and coming back this year, I am so impressed with the quality upgrades to the rooms, temperature controls, and service. Still, the staff are not 24/7, and when you need to leave for an early flight, you miss breakfast (begins at 7 am). Again, they were lovely to provide us yogurt and other items for our breakfast the night before. No luggage assist was available, or desk assist. Still I would recommend this lovely hotel!

"Amazing hotel right in the heart of the city"
DBailey635, 16 Juin 2017

"We're not going to La Rochelle any more... I've booked us a hotel in Bordeaux" said my partner. I didn't get any say in the matter, but I'm very glad of that fact because she's a hotel booking genius. The recently refurbished Bayonne Etche-Ona (the Art Deco building in the pair of hotels) was perfect for us. Located right in the heart of the city, within singing distance of the Grand Théâtre, almost everything you'll want to see is close by. Step out into the narrow side-street, turn left and the B-line of the tramway is right in front of you. Cross the road, down another side-street and you're on the main shopping street next to Galeries Lafayette. Turn left and walk a little further down the gentle slope and you'll reach the river and the Place de la Bourse. Despite being so close the Cours de l'Intendance, the room was almost silent. There was no traffic noise. I'm not sure it that's due to the traffic restrictions or the many panes of glass that separated us from the outside world. Only the low hum of the air conditioning was noticed. Our double 'Club Room' had a comfortable bed with immaculate linen, desk, large flat-screen TV, a well-stocked mini-bar and quality coffee maker. The private shower room continued the modern Art Deco style theme from the bedroom, and had a rainfall shower and spray. The sink was very well lit from above and from behind the large mirror. Toiletries and a hair-dryer were provided, although the latter wasn't very powerful. We also had a separate toilet room, although without a sink. The hotel itself was neat and tidy. The common areas including the reception and dining room are on the small side, but that's just a limitation due to the age and design of the building. There was a small gym in the basement, but my partner and I didn't avail ourselves of this facility. The staff were very friendly, English speaking, and we always got a cheery 'Bonjour' as we came and went.

"Great hotel in great location "
rivegauche111, 15 Juin 2017

Super hotel. Staff is really nice and food good. We had a suite which was spacious, super nice and the bed was really comfortable. The location is perfect for culture, sightseeing and nightlife. We will definitely come back here. It's a home away from home.

"Wonderful LOCATION, NEWLY decorated Rooms and CAN DO Manager!!"
Travellerplus_10, 15 Juin 2017

We stayed here 3 nights and LOCATION is wonderful!! on a small side street off a main square it has excellent Tram transport just past the door, Tourist info centre across the street, Centre of Town, Gordon Ransay restaurant next door(if you ever wanted to try his food in France), plethora of top class Bistros, estaurants and Wine shops in ALL the streets across from you. Fast food also close by if kids in tow!! HOTEL: We were lucky enough to stay in a beautifully renovated Suite in the Rue Mautrec building(there are two close to each other). The other rooms in this building equally are newly removated and truly lovely and as expected smaller than the Suite. STAFF: Lovely Staff at reception and they speak good english. BREAKFAST: We like breakfast and the Buffet had hot and cold options and plenty of baked items, Yoghurts and fruit. Coffee was plentiful and good! MANAGER: Madam Laurence is an eanest 'can do' lady and has over 20 years experience in the industry so you can imagine she goes over and above to make sure that you are treated well and the Hotel stands out amongst the many here. We did encounter an issue about lack of experience by the front reception in not providing information but Madam Laurence was on to it after we mentioned it!! I travel enough to be able to say this Hotel is a 'great' option in BORDEAUX and is certainly an option if you want to have access to most everything.

"Concert visit"
christopherhV7046VY, 12 Juin 2017

Happy hotel very handy for our concert venue Good parking facilities with discount. Friendly and welcoming staff. Quiet room even when facing main street Very adequate breakfast. This was our ninth stay this concert season and we see no reason to look elsewhere

"Wish I would have known that you need to use a public parking...."
Issie94, 28 Mai 2017

Room was great, friendly staff, great location...the only thing I wish I would have known prior to booking is that you can't drive to this hotel and have to use a public parkade...where we got our suitcases stollen. It's a 15 minutes walk from parkade, so since we were there for 1 night only, we downsized our luggage, leaving our big suitcases in the trunk of our rent a car...next morning our window was broken and bags were gone. At check in I told them I left my bags in the car, never once did they warn me that Bordeaux was not safe on a Saturday....2 other vehicles had the same thing done

"Bordeaux "
cahill4, 18 Mai 2017

This hotel is in the perfect location to fully enjoy the charms of the city of Bordeaux. The staff was professional, eager to provide assistance, and always had a smile on their face. The rooms were efficient. Highly recommend.

"great location"
Paul L, 17 Mai 2017

charming hotel in a great location in the centre of town. Rooms a bit on the small size but thats what you get in Europe. Reception was friendly and everything was ready for my arrival. I would stay there again

"Great location BUT get the parking details if you've got a car!"
Charmagne68, 15 Mai 2017

We arrived in Bordeaux and had programmed the hotel address into the GPS in our hired vehicle. SO difficult to find what with traffic, pedestrian walkways etc. We could see we were around the corner from the hotel but we couldn't get there. Once we'd found a public parking lot, and lugged our luggage to the hotel, we were told of the access code to drop luggage etc. A little late guys! Otherwise, a comfortable, clean and well situated hotel within walking distance of most must sees.

"Great visit"
Dave T, 07 Mai 2017

We stayed on a short business overnight. Stellar location on the main square downtown. No restaurant but plenty of choices close by. Excellent breakfast choices in the morning. Extremely friendly staff. Will stay here again.

"Unbeatable location..."
Jose Luis G, 06 Mai 2017

Great option to stay in Bordeaux. The hotel has two buildings 200 ft separated one from the other. Rooms are small but comfortable. Very nice mattress and pillows. Good amenities and accessories. The TV content is diverse with programming options in five languages. Breakfast is just ok, not many options. WiFi is free but kind of slow. The hotel is located right in the heart of the city center but still not noisy at all. The only downside is that if you are bringing a car, the parking is located 3 blocks away from the hotel and the drop on drop off area does not exist. Other that these, it is a great option in Bordeaux.

"Great hotel!"
Robyn L, 03 Mai 2017

We couldn't believe this wonderful hotel was a Best Western!! It was so nice, staff was very courteous and helpful too! Highly recommend this hotel! It looks like a chateau when you pull up the driveway.

"Great Hotel"
AMT543, 02 Mai 2017

Excellent location, right in the middle of everything. We stayed here for one week and were given an upgraded room that was very nice and modern. 4 stars by American standard. The entry and lobby are very simple, but the rest of the hotel is great.

"Location location location"
phillipsterry510, 22 Mars 2017

Amazing location right in the centre of city, located in a small side street so very peaceful. Plush decoration. Lovely staff, all the usual facilities you would expect for a four star hotel. A real winner

"Good value but irritating service"
Rosemary L, 26 Janvier 2017

We arrived an hour after check in time and still had to wait another half hour for our room to be prepared. In addition reception could have given us better directions for finding the hotel and parking beforehand e.g. telling us that central Bordeaux was closed to traffic on the Sunday we were visiting (the first in the month) and that we would have to ask for access through the barrier, and also giving us the name of the parking we were heading for so we could follow the clear signs in the city. Having said that, the hotel is good value for such a central location. The rooms are uninspiring but perfectly adequate. But it was irritating that so much of our short visit was wasted finding the hotel and parking and then checking in. I expect better from Best Western.

"Business trip"
gabrielal734, 26 Décembre 2016

I order my room on line and I selected the room with bathtub and I paid for it. Then, when I arrived I got a very small room with no bathtub. In addition, I also requested an extra blanket since it was a cold night.

"Best location, clean and convenient"
CDFBologna, 27 Novembre 2016

I liked the bathroom amenities a lot and it was clean, with a view of the city in a small room. The bathroom was tiny but the shower new and excellent. I was a little disappointed to be charged for an extra bottle of water we asked for but overall the place is greatly located close to the tourism office, opera (called Grand Theatre) and one of the longest shopping streets of Europe. Super safe are. The lift does not go straight from the ground floor to the upper floor, everything stop through the reception at the first floor but one gets used to it. I wish Le Monde newspaper would have been available rather than the Figaro but that's a personal taste thing. I will probably book myself there again when I go back. P.S Everything is smaller than what you see on the pics: reception, gym, etc.. surprised us the most when we got there.

"Quiet city-centre hotel"
faiers, 17 Novembre 2016

Peaceful Art Deco oasis in the heart of this bustling city. A short walk to the Grand Théatre, close to shops, very close to a tram stop, yet very quiet. The room was small but beautifully decorated and the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was quite expensive, but good. The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly.

"Good Location"
carolyncU5533UX, 08 Novembre 2016

This is a cute hotel with friendly staff and it is very well located. The breakfast was very disappointing for this level of hotel. There was almost no liquid soap left in the dispenser in the bathroom and it was not topped up during my two night stay, which did not leave a good impression about the housekeeping staff. Access to the hotel by car is difficult but it is close enough to everything to walk

"OK"
Jan Vidar K, 07 Novembre 2016

Location is good, although the hotel entrance is not too easy to find since it is hidden away in an alley. From a price point of view, not exactly cheap, but compared to the others in the area quite OK. The breakfast served to the room was good.

"Great location. Perfect for a quick stay!"
Wendy215, 06 Novembre 2016

This hotel is right in the heart of everything you would want to see and do. They have two buildings. We had 4 groups arrive separately. Each group was dropped off at one building, went upstairs with luggage and all to the reception desk only to be directed to the other building. It is just a short walk out and around the corner. We had manageable luggage, it was during the day, and it wasn't raining, so it was OK. It would be worth an advanced inquiry before you arrive. The room was small. The shower was large. Great for a one night stay. The front desk keeper was very nice and helpful.

"I love Bordeaux"
cabwinelady, 06 Novembre 2016

Everything was wonderful and the location was perfect. Just a step away from the heart of the city--shops, cafes, attractions. I enjoyed being right where all the action was and highly recommend it to everyone!

"Concert B & B"
christopherhV7046VY, 31 Octobre 2016

Hotel is very well placed for central Bordeaux. Parking is handy and hotel easy to find. Welcome wonderful now we are regular visitors. Rooms very adequate but eating limited to breakfast only and not a very large room. Quiet atmosphere - perfect for our overnight needs.

"Clean, efficient and comfortable"
i4nc, 25 Octobre 2016

Very friendly and efficient welcome, room was very clean and comfortable. Restaurant recommended for evening meal was first class and good value for money. Ample, fresh and tasty breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

"Excellent Location"
Collybean, 24 Octobre 2016

Stayed 3 nights in this well situated hotel in the centre of the beautiful city of Bordeaux. The entrance is on a narrow one way street, our room overlooked this and was very quiet with very efficient double glazing should you need it.The hotel was nicely decorated and our room was very comfortable and clean. I particularly liked the bathroom with double sinks and large shower. Breakfast buffet was small but adequate for our needs and the tea made with boiling water set me up for the day. Reception staff pleasant and helpful. Will return to this hotel and lovely city.

"Perfect hotel, fantastic location."
kmiraleis, 22 Octobre 2016

We brought a group of 29 people to stay in a combination of Doubles, Twins or Single rooms. Everybody in the group loved the hotel. The location is excellent for discovering Bordeaux, it is situated very close to a tram stop. There are wonderful shops, restaurants and bars in short walking distance. The hotel staff are very friendly and eager to help with any enquiry. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is perfectly adequate offering a choice of good quality breakfast items. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. Although very centrally located there is no noise at all in the room. The bathrooms are very clean and modern with every amenity available. I would definitely return to this lovely hotel.

"Great Location"
Jane5600, 04 Octobre 2016

The hotel sits right in the centre of Bordeaux and is close to restaurants, shops and sight-seeing. However, pulling up outside the hotel in a car is quite difficult as its up a narrow road (one car deep). We used a taxi from the airport so stopping to offload bags wasn't a problem as the car behind us kindly waited. Check-in was smooth and efficient. We booked a junior suite and I have to say the room was lovely. The bed was very large and very comfortable. We had a separate sitting area, however this was not separate to the bedroom. The room also provided us with 2 bathrooms which was very nice to have. Also, this is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. It was immaculate. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Not much choice, pastries, ham, cheese, yoghurts and cereals etc. The coffee was lukewarm and the tea was undrinkable (I know, I know, I was in France and they don't drink tea, but really, how hard is it to make a nice cup of tea). Overall, this hotel is fantastic, decorated in Art Deco style, comfortable, great staff and a great location. We would definitely stay there again.

"Great location & large room"
Travelbugs1004, 02 Octobre 2016

Lovely hotel located in the heart of Bordeaux close to trams, cafes, shops & the water. Room was massive, clean, comfortable & staff lovely & professional. Bathroom - well we had one each was large & clean. Breakfast delivered to our room early before our departure was really good. We were thoroughly looked after for our wedding anniversary. Definitely our place of choice when we're next in Bordeaux.

"Mixed review "
Solitude1, 18 Septembre 2016

The room is modern , clean and quiet. However the deluxe king is the smallest room I could imagine! Room width is width of bed with small table on either side. Two people can not walk in the room at the same time. There is no place to have suitcases or store clothes. There is a small closet but with suitcases on floor can not open it. Hotel maybe in great location but space is definitely an issue fir more than one person in room.

"Poor service level for a claimed 4-stars best western hotels"
Julia G, 25 Août 2016

This is not a 4-stars hotel for sure. 3-stars may be. A very poorly equipped gym. A very poorly organised laundry service (they did not pick up the laundry from my room, in the lunch time they told me they would pick it up soon, in the evening the other receptionist told me that they actually do not pick the laundry up and I have to bring it to the reception, so in the end of the day I do not have clean sport clothes for tomorrow morning). Limited choice for the breakfast. Very disappointed. This is not the level of service I would expect from a 4-stars best western hotel.

"Great situation."
anns914, 19 Août 2016

Ideally situated in the centre of the city- close to the river and main attractions. Staff were helpful and friendly, allowing us to store our cycles safely indoors overnight. Room was small but modern, clean and with everything you'd expect, such as hot drink facilities, great shower and free wi-if.

"Few days in Bordeaux"
Liza-K-pie, 14 Août 2016

A great hotel in a perfect location- completely central. Staff super friendly and very welcoming. We had a suite and the room was nice, great bathrooms but not a super view. We didn't go for their breakfast as it was quite expensive for what it was.

"Great location."
mjp203, 09 Août 2016

We stayed in Chambre Deluxe or Triple which consisted of 2 singles pushed together plus a an extra single added. Room was very clean with a large bath including separate toilet area -- nice upgrade from the Best Western St. Michel in Paris. We had good luck with the BW properties in France. Hotel is perfectly located on the tram line in center city near all the sites. Breakfast was adequate and very convenient. Fruit, meat, juices, coffee and pastries for $15 euros. Egg dishes cost more. Front desk staffers very pleasant and helpful. Solid 4 star hotel.

"A lovely hotel"
Donna S, 08 Août 2016

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. The room was large and spacious with a separate toilet from bathroom. There are two hotels with same name, we stayed in the one in the Martignac. Just behind the hotel is a beautiful old Cathedral Notre Dame. The hotel is very central for local restaurants, bars and brasseries. The Grand Hotel is just a short walk away as is the Opera House, Tourist Bureau and other points of interest. The staff were very friendly and at all times courteous offering advice and directions. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends travelling from Australia.

"Comfortable central location"
GGraemeR, 07 Août 2016

Ideally situated just round the corner from Le Grand Theatre and a tram stop it was very close to many excellent restaurants and shops. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The Club rooms are quite cramped but the Deluxe offer plenty of space and the bathroom was magnificent. The lift is also a bit squeezy.

"Wonderful welcoming experience, modern conveniences in historic building"
K-Lynn-Kennedy, 06 Août 2016

We had a wonderful experience. Located in an historic 18th century building, the hotel has beautifully decorated rooms with modern amenities. Suggestions from the knowledgeable and helpful staff, particularly Laurence, made our stay exceptional. The building is centrally located, and after parking the car, we could walk/tram anywhere. We were also within walking distance to many lovely terrasses and interesting shops. Bravo to all the staff here! We will definitely return next time we're in Bordeaux.

"Gorgeous small hotel in the centre of Bordeaux"
Paula J, 31 Juillet 2016

We stayed here for a special occasion and definitely chose the right hotel. It is a very small hotel (reception on the first floor) with beautiful rooms and excellent staff who are both friendly and helpful. The beds and bed linen were of good quality, the decor and the bathrooms were lovely. The hotel will provide you with a discount voucher to park in an underground car park for €10.00 for a 24 hour period and this is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You are minutes away from all the bistros, restaurants, bars, shopping and promenade. Highly recommended.

"Perfect location"
Ole R, 21 Juillet 2016

Perfect 'cost-effektive' Hotel in the very heart of old town close to tourist office, the theatre and not far from Place de la Bourse. Excellent service, and a good selection to breakfast. Rooms adequately sized and very elegant modern bathrooms. Will return!

"Good location and comfy place"
Fereshteh M, 04 Juillet 2016

We stayed in this hotel for two nights while visiting Bordeaux, very well located and cosy room. I enjoyed our stay specially as we were close to all the shops, restaurants and 5 mins walk to the riverside. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good too. The rooms are clean and the bathroom was clean and huge. I really enjoyed our short stay there.

"Great location near every thing."
KjunCelt, 01 Juillet 2016

Very helpful desk staff. The hotel was near the square, restaurants, the river, public transportation - everything you could want. We were able to walk everywhere easily. Really good continental breakfast. WiFi was free and it worked. Excellent for the price.

"Great stay! Wish we could of stayed longer! "
Lloyd2709, 27 Juin 2016

Stayed here for one night following the Wales game against Slovakia in Bordeaux. The hotel is centrally located, very clean and modern. The room is a fair size with a comfortable feel, well furnished with a good working TV. There was a large bathroom, stayed in room 201 which looked out onto a back street. The room had a good working air con. Would stay again.

"Brilliant !!"
Ender08, 07 Juin 2016

I decided to book in this hotel after a friend told me about his holiday there. I don't regret it at all ! The staff was really nice and helpful. At the reception they gave me advice for good place to eat, or things to visit in the city and how to go there. My room was really cosy and quiet. The breakfast propose lot of different kind of products. I always left the room full !! So thanks Best western Bayonne Etche Ona for the experience !! I will be back for sure !!

"Très bon hôtel"
Pouchky972, 07 Juin 2016

I was looking for an hotel in town with my boyfriend and we chose this one. it is well placed in the middle of the city , next to the tram, the St. Rémi street where there are many choices for restaurants. The staff are lovely and helpful. there reigns a good mood. the room is very good and clean. thank you again for your time and your professionalism.

"Excellent location"
HikerDave2, 01 Juin 2016

Beautifully updated hotel with adequate room for our stuff and an A/C system that worked well. Not much charm like we might have experienced in a French hotel, but this place got the job done. Breakfast certainly adequate.

"Great location, simple, clean and updated"
VRJL, 29 Mai 2016

If you are looking for a hotel in a great location that is simple, clean and updated without spending a fortune, this is the place for you. Having stayed at many 3-4 star hotels in France, this was the best. Regarding the breakfast, I would go out and dine at one of the many cafes nearby. I would stay here again.

"Nice and decent city hotel"
Sergije1975, 29 Mai 2016

I was here in April for two nights for my bussines trip and found this hotel very efficient. Great location in the City centre, great privacy, most of the rooms are located in quite street, nice breakfest...

"designed by an accountant"
Maximu5, 22 Mai 2016

I give this hotel 2 stars because its location is excellent and all the staff really do their best to make guests forget what an utterly soulless hotel this is (despite it looking like a classy place from the outside), not to mention a tiny uncomfortable bedroom and a ridiculously small breakfast room (and a breakfast to forget). This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The airco is very quiet though. Must have been designed by an accountant.

"In the dark ages...."
David H, 18 Mai 2016

We have been here for 3 nights. For two nights the air conditioning produced only heat. We had to sleep, with an open window. At 4 AM unconscionable noise started and finally stopped about 7:30 AM Internet speed is glacial - between .66 and 1.00 Mpbs download. The hotel staff is aware of these issues and appear helpless. We would not stay here again when we return to Bordeaux.

"Great location but very noisy"
Marigoldmunchkin, 17 Mai 2016

The hotel is well situated in the heart of old Bordeaux, close to the grand Theatre, the Cours de l'Intendance, the Visitor Centre, the Miroir d'Eau and Place de la Bourse - you can walk to most attractions, and the tramway stop nearby will take you everywhere else. The rooms are comfortable but they will only let you have one key, which is a nuisance if you and your roommate are going in different directions. A full American-style breakfast is available for a price right in the hotel - we preferred to buy bread, cheese and fruit at the nearby Marche des Grands Hommes. Lots of restaurants nearby ranging from very high end to McDonalds. The worst thing about it was that our rooms were on the street side so we were treated to shouting revellers all night then noisy garbage collectors starting before dawn. If you choose this hotel, you'd do well to insist on a quiet room away from the street.

"Rooms just too small"
robf255100, 16 Mai 2016

Renovated hotel in heart of Bordeaux with nice beds and bedding however everything is just too small to be comfortable. Maybe for one night, it would be ok but we stayed 4 nights, did a deal online and wished we had booked elsewhere just for the space factor. When we checked into the room I rang reception to see if we could upgrade but was told the hotel was full that night and we were not contacted again about our concern that the room was so small. The bathroom has a generous shower but the basin has little space either side so nowhere for your toiletries. I had to tip my makeup into a towel in the basin every morning to get ready. Hairdryer has to be used at the desk as there is nowhere in the bathroom to plug in and there is no mirror so that was also inconvenient. Separate toilet is a plus. Flat screen TV is large. Only one bottle of water supplied at the beginning of the stay seemed rather mean. Not much space to unpack, we just felt like we were in a mess for 4 nights. We didn't bother with breakfast as we felt like we had booked a bad deal and didn't want to spend anymore at the hotel, didn't see any staff at all during our staff as you can just leave your floor and go to the ground floor exit which bypasses reception on the 1st floor. Maybe if breakfast was thrown in, we would have felt less unhappy.

"Has its quirks, but a fine hotel"
writer48, 11 Mai 2016

This hotel is a rather complicated affair, split between two buildings across the alley from each other. It is very centrally located and offers excellent rooms, superior bedding, comfortable furnishings, and absolute cleanliness. The rooms are very quiet. It is reasonably priced and the staff is very accommodating. There are some quirks: The lobby of one building closes at 10:30 PM and guests need to be buzzed in; the lobby of that building is very small with limited seating; the front desk staff (usually one person) is the combination operator, reservation person, receptionist, and bell person; the lobby of the other building is somewhat larger but located on an upper floor (odd, that). The whole thing works, but be prepared for these idiosyncrasies. The best reasons to stay here? Location in the heart of Bordeaux, handy to shopping and dining choices, and a fine, high quality, comfortable hotel room.

"Perfect hideaway!"
earthmomma, 11 Mai 2016

The room is small but typical for France, mattress and linens were so nice, breakfast was tasty and ample and our room was so quiet! Everything was nearby and in easy walking distance to everything we needed. The Facade is historic but the interiors completely renovated and very nice!

"Good location and friendly reception "
Lavender40, 06 Mai 2016

This is a newly renovated hotel and while rooms are a bit small it is of decent enough size and is made for the modern traveler with conveniently placed power outlets near the bedside table. We had a free upgrade to a suite the first time which was a lovely surprise. It is worth the money if you intend to spend a few days sightseeing in the city and need more space. The reception staff are friendly and genuinely warm towards travelers. I found them helpful and initiative. To avoid walking around with luggage do check with the hotel before arriving which entrance you should go to as there are 2. Perhaps this is something the hotel management should take note of when sending confirmation of reservation to the guest. Breakfast buffet is the normal pastries, cereal and fruit but no cooked items. A little overpriced at 15 Euros but there are a number of places you can eat at outside the hotel.

"Good value for money"
Wondergal1111, 03 Mai 2016

There are 2 entrance to this hotel (there are 2 separate buildings). Our taxi driver took us to the wrong entrance, but the lady was kind enough to call the reception of the other building to help us with our luggage. The check-in process was efficient and we were offered a local map with dining recommendations. Our room was located on 3rd floor and the room was recently remodeled. The 2 twin beds were separated (requested at booking). Even though the room is a little small, the room is equipped with everything we need. The room was clean. Access to the tram is within 1min walk. I want to point out that the entrance to the hotel is in an alley and the reception desk is on the 1st floor. No man is staff on the ground floor (hotel entrance), but there are CCTV. If you are travelling by yourself at night, you might want to check your surroundings.

"Nice hotel"
ivan_gray3, 28 Avril 2016

We stayed at this hotel in July 2015 and found it to be very central to all major sight seeing venues. It is just off the main square behind the Grand hotel. Staff friendly and helpful and the rooms where good .

"Great location, nice boutique hotel, pleasant service, lousy wifi"
billrosenblatt, 12 Avril 2016

Do not be fooled by the Best Western label: this is a nice boutique hotel (actually pair of hotels around the corner from each other) with no sign of "big chain hotel." The location is unbeatable for walking around the old city. The service is very pleasant and English is spoken. Rooms are typically small but stylish. There is a small fitness room in the basement of the rue Martignac location (if you stay in the rue Mautrec building you have to go over there and use your room key to get in). My only complaint? The Wi-Fi is *awful*. Very slow and balky. It's free, but you get what you pay for.

"Don't stay here with a car!"
Judith S, 11 Avril 2016

Hotel is in an excellent location and would recommend it. However, if arriving in one's own car it is a nightmare to find because of "interdit" streets and the car has to be garaged in the Grand Hommes car park, about 5 minutes' walk from the hotel.

"First rate accommodation, and super convenient"
catface41, 30 Mars 2016

We stayed one night with friends in beautiful Bordeaux. This hotel couldn't be better placed - about 2 minutes from the Opera House. And it's all been recently refurbished, so everything is new and sparkly and everything works. A very comfortable room, not over large though. The bath was too small - short and narrow, it would have been better with a large shower, which our friend's room had. The breakfast looked fine although we didn't use it (there are too many to choose from nearby). The staff were just great and couldn't have been more helpful.Overall - brilliant, can't recommend it highly enough.

"Staff and location"
CHARLES M, 21 Mars 2016

Great location, friendly staff and time way too short. We should have stayed longer. Bed was exceptional. Staff were very helpful and we were made to feel at home. At the heart of things with pedestrian area and transport links. Hope to get back here soon.

"Well furnished centrally located hotel"
travellersingap0re, 21 Février 2016

Lovely hotel on the Cours de Intendance, stones throw from opera and St catherine street shopping street. Access was a bit tricky as our car with luggage could not get into the hotel entrance on a one way street. Had to leave the car in a quiet back lane until after check-in. The bubbly receptionist gave a voucher and showed us parking at the nearby circular shopping mall Grand Hommes. Room was newly furnished and everything works wonderfully. Loved this place, near to everthing & everywhere and slightly cheaper than a few comparables nearby.

"Small bu very good"
enelym1978, 26 Janvier 2016

Stayed at this hotel for business for 2 nights. It's a small hotel, located smack in the middle of the city, near the tram station, a parking lot for the car, shops and restaurants. Super friendly and efficient staff. There's a small gym in the basement. Free WiFi available but need to reconnect every time you leave the hotel... could be automatic. But that's a detail. The rooms are well appointed and ok size for someone like me. But for a couple or for bigger size travellers, they might feel a bit cramped. Especially the rooms xx1, xx2, which are right next to the elevator. They are so close to each other that I'm sure you hear everything. My room had a second door, which worked wonders to block the noises from the corridor. The closet is also too small and not deep enough. It means that when you are hanging clothes, the hangers will hit the back of the closet and I'm pretty sure my neighbor could hear the banging because i could hear it when he/she did the same... Another little thing: the hotel tries to go green and asks its guests to help the environment by hanging towels that can re-used, which I did. But the housekeeper changed them for new ones anyway, on both nights... I don't see the point... But all in all, had a great stay and would recommend it without hesitation.

"Location,location,location."
Wahaay, 15 Janvier 2016

Yup,a great location for this newly-renovated hotel close to trams, shops and all the bars and restaurants of the old part of the city. They've done a great job with the renovation work to give the place an intimate, boutique hotel vibe. Smart decor, good furnishings, gleaming bathroom. Although we had a room at the front overlooking the busy main street we couldn't hear a thing through the old-fashioned double windows and slept well every night. Staff are friendly and efficient and take time to highlight the best places to visit on a map they provide. Also it being January we scored a great deal of just over €100 a night. Highly recommended.

"Centre of Bordeaux"
Ann M, 06 Janvier 2016

Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed there as it was in the centre so could walk out the door and right in the midst of things including the Christmas market which was on whilst we were there. From the reception when we arrived through to breakfast and booking out the service was without fault. The room was immaculate and had two bathrooms which we weren't expecting. Wifi service excellent. We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer and certainly want to return in the future.

"Great place to stay in Bordeaux"
Catherine S, 09 Novembre 2015

My husband and I stayed over this past weekend. we would definitely stay here again. First and foremost, the staff is excellent. Very friendly and anxious to help in any way that they can. We asked for, and received dining suggestions. We went to 2 of the recommended places and they were wonderful. When we left, the person at the desk was most helpful in our attempts to change train tickets. We stayed In an updated room and it was very nice. It was a standard room, so smaller than some but larger than others we have had in France. But everything was new and just great for our needs. The bathroom had a tub versus a shower so you may want to check into that if you have a preference. Also, the location is perfect - on the pedestrian only area, and a stone's throw from the Grand Theatre. The entrance is on a side street and our room (#302) was very quiet. We only had breakfast there on the first day, but it was very good and fits the bill for us Americans.

"Small Hotel Located In An Alley By The Grand Theater"
Zoom_Gotti, 02 Novembre 2015

Since they are renovating this hotel, I can't say what the rooms and general décor will be like when you stay here. But the location will remain the same. And probably the breakfast and availability of daily newspapers. I hope they improve the bed and pillow comfort. There are two wings, an alley apart, but smack by the Place de la Comedie. If you go to the wrong building, the reception will direct you to the right one. But if you are facing the opera house, just turn around and walk down the alley. You will find the hotel halfway down the route. Like I said this an excellent location to the tram, opera, shops, river, market, and most of the city sites. It's probably a 30-40 minute walk to the SNCF but the B tram will drop by Place Quinconces and it's a very short walk from there. If in doubt stop at the tourist office on your walk. Not only is this hotel under renovation but so is the Gare. So if you come by train, find your way out to the street and take the tram going to the right. Buy a ticket from the kiosk, but if you don't have the time or understand the instructions it's on the honor system and if you're a tourist in a rush, maybe they'll forgive you.

"Overnight shopping trip in Bordeaux"
Morag S, 17 Octobre 2015

Superb location right in the center of Bordeaux shopping. Allowing us to drop off shopping bags and take a break. What I had not realized is the hotel is in two separate buildings both with excellent llocations a minute apart. However one part has been beautifully refurbished the other remains in a tired condition awaiting refurbishment. This sadly is where we were located. Our booking was for a superior twin. Sadly there was nothing superior about it. In the room description it said bath and shower. This turned out to be an old wayward shower hose over the high sided bath. Not a separate shower All said very friendly staff tea & coffee in our room which was spotless. We will use the Best Western again when the refurbishment is complete.

"Good location"
gcollins, 11 Octobre 2015

I stayed here one night, and although quite difficult to locate, once found you realize the location is convenient to tram and Rue St. Catherine. Room was a bit small but probably large by European standards. Coffee in room is instant. :( Breakfast was more than ample. Desk staff was very helpful with check-in and calling taxis.

"Central location but NOISY"
Marigoldmunchkin, 09 Octobre 2015

The Etche Ona is right downtown, half a block from the Grand Theatre, easy walking distance to most attractions and great shopping, easy access to the tram that will take you just about anywhere in the city. The room was rather cramped - and the decor somewhat tired - not unusual for rooms in older European buildings - but clean. The beds were comfortable and reasonably well equipped with an electric kettle, complimentary tea bags and instant coffee. There is an elevator. Breakfast not included, but there seemed to be a choice of continental or full breakfast. We didn't take it, preferring to buy pastries and fruit from the Marche des Grands Hommes which is about a block away. They would only give us one plastic room key, which couldn't be left at the reception desk. The room key had to be inserted into a slot in the room in order to get the electricity to work. So when we decided to go separate ways for the day, one of us would be without room access or electricity. The front desk staff did show us how to trigger the electricity with the little card the maids leave to tell you they were there, and would let us in if we didn't have the key, but it was a bit inconvenient. The place was also hard to find on first go as the little alley it's located on is just off of the big plaza closed to traffic between the Grand Theatre and the Grand Hotel. It doesn't look like you can drive there, and it's a bit tricky because the way is marked by permanent pylons that are the same color as the paving stones so one of us had to get out of the car, locate the entrance and the hotel, then guide the driver in. We unloaded the bags at the front door, then went to find the parking garage, at the Marche des Grands Hommes. It cost us about 43 euros for three nights to park. Apparently this was a discount off the normal rate, as we were staying at the hotel. The hotel staff took our bags up so they were already In the room when we got back. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The wifi worked well. There is also a computer and printer in the lobby where we could print off the tickets for city and wine tours that we had bought online. The worst thing about this room was the absolutely infernal racket in the street outside that seemed to go on throughout the hours that we would have preferred to have spent sleeping. Revelers in the street screaming at all hours of the night. Every morning at about five there seemed to be a number of trucks stopping right under our window - the drivers were yelling at each other and God knows what they were doing but it sounded like they were smashing bottles and crashing heavy metal furniture. This went on for hours. Sleep impossible. We spent three weeks in France; this hotel was the absolute worst and also the most expensive. I would not stay there again, or if I did, I would INSIST on a room away from the street.

"Great location"
Keith W, 08 Octobre 2015

Stayed for 6 nights while at a conference. Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and reasonable size room for Europe. Easy walking access to the main areas of Bordeaux. Very close to public transport. The free wifi is fairly fast and always working

"Great location, quiet, and friendly...perfect"
John P, 23 Septembre 2015

The staff was very friendly and helpful during the whole stay. They went out of their way to help us find good food and whatever else we needed. The rooms were small, normal for Bordeaux, but were very clean. Maid service was great. Staying downtown Bordeaux can be noisy with all the pubs but this hotel's location was perfect for some peace and quiet. It is within a stones throw of the tram and my favorite wine store in Bordeaux. It is within 5 minutes walk of everything! Food, waterfront, shopping, etc. Perfect location. The best part for me is the parking. This hotel has a reduced rate for parking at the Grand Hommes parking structure. It is about a 4 minute walk from hotel and very reasonable. (approx 55 Euro for a week parking). I will go back to this hotel. I travel for business there for about 20 nights a year. This is the new hotel for me. Quiet nights, friendly staff, good parking, and great location. What else could you want? I did not try the hotel breakfast because I am not a big breakfast person so I could not comment on that.

"Nice hotel in a great location and helpful staff"
Larry-of-Denmark, 23 Septembre 2015

I stayed in the old Etche-Ona building and although the room was a bit run down, it was adequate and fine for the price. The things that needed to be clean were clean and the bed was fine. The bathroom was surprisingly large and had a full-sized bathtub, which was nice. The reception staff was extremely helpful and friendly, particularly Laurence and the woman who helped me with an email arrangement with a restaurant. The location can't be beat!

"Great little hotel with a fantastic location and staff. Quiet, nice breakfast."
KjunCelt, 19 Septembre 2015

Just a block off the main square in Bordeaux - the heart of town, without the noise. This was an overnight before getting on a riverboat cruise. Easy walking distance of all the sights and some great restaurants. Nice size room, but marginal WiFi. Sarah and Laurence at the desk were great! Extremely helpful and flexible with helping us make our boarding window. Would absolutely recommend this hotel. No bar or dining room - but there is so much, so close it doesn't matter. This place is a great deal.

"Great location and room with balcony in new section"
Kieran D, 15 Septembre 2015

Visited for two nights in August which was the perfect length of stay to take in this city. The hotel is easy enough to find with a sat nav. We also called ahead for directions and to say we were bringing a car which was helpful. On arrival we were able to stop in the street outside and take the bags in to reception which is up one floor. They gave us directions to park the car which was a two minute drive under the nearby shopping centre. Under 5 mins walk back to the hotel. Check in was simple and we were in a room on the 1st floor about the reception which I was concerned about noise but nicely surprised when we got into the room to find we had a balcony overlooking the Main Street. Wonderful to be able to sit out and watch the world go by. I would email ahead and ask if a balcony room is available. The bed was comfortable and had a TV, fridge, coffee facilities etc. Bathroom was as expected with good shower. Everything was clean and new as this part of the hotel has recently been refurbished. Breakfast buffet looked reasonable but had decided not to take it at the cost bearing in mind it is the city centre and there are plenty of nearby cafe's and restaurants to choose from. The hotel is right in the centre so easy to walk to all the main tourist sites. We were given a voucher at the hotel reception for a reduced fee at the car park which on leaving the car park was to be paid in the office on level 2. This was €28 euro for two nights so still not cheap but acceptable and easy/secure. Great hotel which is modern and clean in brilliant location. Would recommend to friends visiting the city.

"Paul Cordwell"
Paul C, 12 Septembre 2015

Another superb French Best Western Hotel. This was the third that my partner and I have stayed in this year and if you are looking for something different from the "every room is the same" kind of hotel in France check out Best Western's. We have been so impressed by them in France that we look at their website first. Their locations have always proved central and whilst their rooms have always been different they are always clean and very functional. Etcha Ona was no different and the staff were yet again friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommended.

"Perfect location"
Love2EatDrinkTravel, 10 Septembre 2015

The location is absolutely perfect! You can walk to the main food, shopping areas and supermarket. The tour office is very close if you have something booked. The tram to the train station is also very close. The room itself was comfortable with a nice big bathroom and comfy bed. Furnishings are not ultra modern but the location is just so good!

"Good central hotel but watch your valuables!"
pistolier, 09 Septembre 2015

This hotel has a good central location in a city built for walking. We stayed in the new so-called 4* section of the hotel in room which was quite small albeit recently refurbished to a good standard EXCEPT!!...If like us you have previously been a victim of theft from your hotel room then the use of a room safe is pretty high up on the list of “must haves”. Most hotels highly recommend their use so you can imagine my great surprise when the room safe moved! It was not fixed to anything!! As you can see from the photograph you can pick it up and put in your case and walk out with it. Do you think your travel insurance would pay out if the safe or the items in it were so easily stolen?? When I reported the matter to the desk I was told that they were ALL like it, none of the safes in the refurbished section were fixed to anything.....truly flabbergasted. We were initially met with shrugged shoulders and nothing more. The following day I informed the manager of my concerns and she repeated that fact that all the room were like it. I tried to explain that my valuables could not be safe when the safe could be so easily removed. We were later offered to be moved to the inferior side of the hotel where the room safes were fixed but that was unacceptable. As part of the Best Western group of hotels I cannot believe that this hotel spent the money to refurbish the hotel and did not think of securing the room safes, totally ridiculous! IF YOU ARE STAYING IN THE REFURBISHED SIDE OF THIS HOTEL MAKE SURE THEY CONFIRM THAT THE SAFE IS SECURE WHEN YOU BOOK OR DON'T BE SURPRISED AT WHAT MAY HAPPEN TO YOUR VALUABLES!

"Great value hotel"
Sam S, 06 Septembre 2015

This is a great hotel for a few days stay in Bordeaux. We arrived late in the evening and received a lovely welcome. The service was great - I asked if they had an iron and within about 3 minutes an iron and ironing board were delivered to the room! The location is perfect for exploring the city and our room was spotlessly clean and modern. We enjoyed our stay very much. We didn't have breakfast as there are lots of cafes very nearby.

"Lovely hotel in centre of Bordeaux"
Taffs_on_Tour21, 01 Septembre 2015

Newly refurbished hotel in the centre of Bordeaux - you couldn't ask for a better location. We had the Club Room which I believe are all the newly refurbished rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. We didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment but the vicinity has many cafes/brasseries to suit all pockets. Highly recommend!

"Very disappointing, pictures didn't show the truth !!"

What made me disappointed is that the pictures published by the management is for the other Best Western hotel in the Main Street. The rooms are very basic with minimum amenities. The breakfast buffet costs €13 with very few choices of patisserie, cheese, and meet. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel because it doesn't worth the price. The free Wifi intern is extremely slow. The TV is very small and old with few Channels. In the bathroom there is a small bottle of something to be used as a shower gel, shampoo, or conditioner !!!

"In the heart of Bordeaux and quiet"

There are two halves to this hotel. We stayed at the recently refurbed half. As you would expect as it has had a make over the hotel is in good nick and smart to the point of boutique. Our room was on the small side but had all the mod cons and was very quiet. Situated at the back of the Grand Hotel this hotel is in a central location ideal for exploring old Bordeaux and the trams stop around the corner if you want to go further afield. Service was all that was required.

"Excellent location, excellent hotel!"
TazTraveller_13, 20 Août 2015

This hotel has two sections, we stayed in the renovated section, apparently. It was really terrific. The rooms were immaculate and quiet, the air-conditioning was very efficient, the bathroom was really well appointed and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Located only 50 meters from the top end of Rue St Catherine it is ideally located to access all the main attractions of the city of Bordeaux. Definitely recommend this hotel.

"Ideally located city hotel with more than sufficient amenities, well-priced."
Bee_499, 15 Août 2015

Very clean hotel, with nice staff, It couldn't have been more well-located and was very reasonably priced. Breakfast (if not taken in hotel) is available in the surrounding area if you ike. Resaturants and most sites, and public transport is located very closely.

"great location"
ivan_gray3, 26 Juillet 2015

The hotel is situated just off the main square by a matter of yards and is central to all sights. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast is well worth the money. Situated within a few minutes walk into the side streets there are plenty of bars and restaurants .

"Location rocks"

The hotel was in a very central location. The room was clean but not very spacious-we could tolerate that for one night. However reaching the hotel by car was hard-because the road to the hotel is kept closed and you need to get a password from the hotel to get the road opened. Therefore contact the reception beforehand and learn all the details.

"Perfect location, great staff and service"

The Bayonne was situated perfectly: in the Golden Triangle of shops, entertainment, restaurants. The staff was always friendly and solicitous. The main draw back was the brand new renovations. Rooms have an inadequate storage or hanging facilities, or even surfaces to set one's belonging. Bathroom were lacking the basic towel rack.

"Good choice in Bordeaux"
Pankaj G, 18 Septembre 2014

Excellent location, close to tourist office and opposite the grand theater, close to restaurants. Accessible to the longest shopping Street and Apple store. Water front with historical sites and recreational opportunities by public transport tram. taxi service close by. Hotel staff very helpful. Good value for the money, will stay here again.

"Location perfect and quite"

The location is perfect for a weekend visit. Just exit the hotel and your are in the heart of Bordeaux. The location in the small street makes the room very quite , no traffic noise so sleeping is very good.

"Room smelled like smoke/ wrong size beds"
861tylers, 09 Juillet 2014

reserved two king size beds on line. arrived at hotel, received two double size beds, extremely small rooms, one room smelled terrible like smoke, no option to move, tried to get refund and leave and would not give refund only offered a free breakfast. totally disappointed. very obvious from reservation that we wanted two connecting king rooms. if that is unavailbe, you should not be able to reserve. be careful when reserving on line

"Excellent stay"
Cheryl073, 21 Juin 2014

We loved this hotel in Bordeaux as it was close to the tourist office and in the popular tourist area of Bordeaux. Tucked away on a side street meant a good night's rest. Our room was a great size for 2 people and we enjoyed having a tub as well as a shower in the bathroom. Would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Bordeaux.

"Beautiful city"
Carmel F, 21 Mai 2014

Very central location. Quiet hotel. Clean and comfortable. Helpful staff. Petit breakfast not good. Beautiful city. Hotel within walking distance of riverside, theaters, restaurants, and shopping. Bordeaux well worth a visit.

"Ideal location, helpful and charming staff"
Armagnac295, 22 Avril 2013

A very comfortable stay in a superior room. Perhaps the only downside was that the staff of the adjacent 'Grand Hotel de Bordeaux' took their smoking breaks opposite our hotel. Although they never disturbed us, an open window would draw in their smoke. Certainly not the fault of Best Western - perhaps someone should speak to the Grand Hotel management.
