The hotel has all the amenities you can expect from an American hotel; perfect waterfall-like shower, delicious breakfast with variety, a room provided with an espresso machine , a kettle and a microwave. The refrigerator is on demand for 10€ per day. There is also a city Carrefour next door. Staff are friendly and the hotel is clean. Everything was perfect until the last moment. We were waiting for the taxi that front-desk reserved. Another taxi arrived with new customers. The taxi driver noticed us waiting. He asked one of the staff if he could take us to the airport. We told we already reserved a taxi. However, the staff member insisted we go with him and she could cancel the reserved car. We accepted and got into the taxi. To our surprise the driver quoted a fair of 70€ for the airport. Thinking it was a mistake, we stated it was Orly, not CDG. We told him that we paid 43€ on arrival from the Orly airport. He started to argue with us while driving. We wanted to get off. He continued arguing and tried to negotiate the price: first reduced to 60 and then to 50. We lost our trust and temper, even scared for our safety. My wife started crying. At last, we were able to get off the car. We walked back 10 min with our luggage to the hotel. The driver followed us into the hotel. He kept yelling at the front-desk. The hotel security took him out. The recommending staff member was astonished and upset. She tried to make up for this incident. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They called their contracted taxi again. Finally, we had a very comfortable trip to the airport and the taximeter charged 43 € as before. Obviously, this was an honest mistake. However, we would like to warn the hotel and the potential customers for taxi companies that do not have agreement with the hotel. Enjoy your stay.
We really like this hotel, we stayed for 6 nights. I liked that the hotel it was a little close to metro station 3 minutes away. We didn't buy the breakfast it seem ok but little pricey for me. The room was spacious and really clean. The bed was really good, we really enjoyed our stay
Nice hotel with perfect room and excellent beds. Tooms are clean and euipped with air condition. The train station is close by and you can reach the inner circle of Paris in 20 minutes. Breakfast is ok and nothing is missing.
We read through the reviews here before we booked and saw that the management wrote they were fixing the carpet problem (comments from February 2018) so we hoped that the problem would be fixed by April... And how important is that carpet anyway?! Well, let me tell you: it totally ruins the impression of otherwise lovely room! I've attached some pictures to this review so that you can find out for yourself if that carpet would spoil your mood... because it definitely spoiled mine! Super clean and spacious bathroom, good connection to the bus and the local train, comfortable bed, as well as the little kitchen with an electric kettle, a microwave, and a coffee machine. The wi-fi signal unfortunately too weak to actually use the wi-fi. The breakfast was fine too. However, it was hard to enjoy the stay, since I couldn't stop noticing those huge stains on the carpet. We had to put on shoes all the time because even if the carpet might be clean, it certainly doesn't look this way. I hope they will replace it. Wouldn't recommend to stay there otherwise, I don't think this is how the room in a 4* hotel should look like.
We have just returned from spending a few days at the Best Western Plus. Like my previous review I have no complaints. We were allocated one of the rooms at the back of the hotel. The room seemed much bigger than normal and we had an added bonus of a bath tub. We were very pleased to see the beige carpet had been replaced with laminate flooring. We had breakfast during this stay and didn't go hungry. The girls work very hard to ensure that everyone got served no matter how busy the breakfast bar is. We had problems with our car and the very helpful receptionist rang the local garages to help us with this. Overall another pleasant stay and we will be returning. Thank you.
I had a very nice stay in this hotel. Special mention to the ladies that served us breakfast, they were marvelous! It's clean and quiet. Close to the train station. Good place to sleep near Paris. I recommend it.
The hotel is very good, the staff very professional and friendly. We were upgraded to a suite and it was very nice. Check in was very friendly (thanks to Sanaa and David).Bedding was very good, bathroom and amenities as well. Breakfast was good and a large selection. BUT the ONE thing that spoils it all was the state of the carpet in the room. Dirty with stains, one would be afraid to walk barefoot. This hotel is excellent Value For Money but please clean up your carpets and take the stains out, it spoils it all.
Had room 501 for a one nighter ahead of business meet. Good room size modern bathroom hot shower good size tv. Breakfast excellent with good choice of hot and cold. The carpet was in a dreadful state badly stained and scuffed. WiFi not working. Cupboards and drawers padlocked. Would stay again if I'm in same business area but request different room ahead of stay.
I was rather shocked to find a number of red stains on the carpet, along with other bits of food that had been trodden into the carpet. The receptionist offered to move me but this is not the point. A room should simply not be offered in that condition. Other guests were asking for slippers so they did not have to tread on their own dirty carpet. On the second night I only had one towel in my room, and got to reception finding others asking for towels too. They ran out of wine. In France! Not happy with the room design either. Surely a toilet in a room on it's own without a hand-basin cannot be hygienic? On a much more trivial front the waste bins are far too small to get anything in. Location is pretty good when the trains aren't on strike, the hotel is on top of a supermarket so very handy for croissants if you don't want to pay 15 euros for breakfast.
Not really in La Defense but in Bois Colombes, but good value close to the city/easy for travel. Service/facilities are minimalist - no restaurant and breakfast/bar area is just part of the lobby. But fine for most business travelers. Rooms are very good, light and clean, bed was very comfortable, powerful shower and a coffee maker/kettle. Breakfast was basic but easy and fast.
Comfortable bed & good shower! The WIFI needs an update, too slow, I didn't have a fridge in my room and I ignore if it was only my Room or all the Rooms. in both cases, I was there just for a weekend, that didn't border me too much. In resume, if you are looking for something affordable, clean, close to the Public transport and not too close to the City centre, it's a good place, the Room was impressively quiet during the night although the cleaning staff were a bit too loud in the morning, for a weekend it's not cool when you are on holidays, the Breakfast happens close to the reception, not very cosy to be honest, but the restaurant staff were helpful and friendly something to really take into consideration when many people in Paris might be pedantic in their approach, although I was positively surprised about their improvement toward the tourist compared with my visit in 1993.
I stayed at this hotel for couple of days along with my colleagues. Though the hotel has basic facilities in terms of amenities, food etc but i was very impressed by the room size. very spacious and well equipped. The bathroom was also very large. This is a plus for this hotel. there are eating options around the hotel. overall a good experience
Helpful, friendly staff who will try everything they can to help in adverse conditions (travelled when Paris was hit with worst snow in 10 years!). Reception is always manned and someone is available to help. Help yourself to free fruits. Good waiting area and wi-fi for working but you may get disturbed by the TV and at bust breakfast time. Rooms are excellent, clean and have the bare necessities. Shower was powerful and clean. Takes 40 mins taxi from CDG airport to get here, takes about 30 mins to get a taxi to CDG Avenue. Will take longer on a normal day when Paris traffic is heavy - suggest using metro instead. If I went for a holiday I'd stay somewhere more central, but it is value for money for a short business trip.
We stayed here for several nights. Strangely enough thd service aas good and we were even provided with an adapter for our electronics. Thr room itself is quite dated, there was a stale smell of smoke and the floors were heavily stained/burned. Furthermore the housekeeping was non-existent and when the room was cleaned the sheets were overturned rather than changed - a wine stain gave this away. Will not stay again but the area is quite nice with great shops and the people are as expected.
Most friendly and helpful receptionist ever! I had a wonderful time in this hotel. I enjoyed it very much. A like home feeling. So lovely and great first impression of hotel. Nice room. I will come back for sure.
A hotel that is perfect for a business trip, great room, bathroom, decor, bed and furnishings with all the facilities that you could wish for, but lets itself down with maintenance. I couldn't open the plug in the bathroom sink, at least 2 bulbs in the lights had gone. Great coffee machine but no coffee pods. No English TV channels. Very very stained carpet. I was offered an alternative room. All of this was made worse when compared with the spotlessly clean room (apart from carpet stains) lovely bed linen and nice toiletries. What I really loved was that, a a female solo traveller, I had one of 2 rooms behind a secure door, so I felt really safe and had no corridor noise. The maintenance people need a kick to make this a great hotel!
The hotel has friendly English speaking staff. It advertise CNN and BBC however none of these TV channels were available. The room was clean but the carpet was so badly stained that the room felt dirty and I didn't feel like taking my shoes off. Please do something about that and the room will be adequate for the price. A little far from the city but it is at least close to the train station. The breakfast good and again very friendly wait staff.
I found the room too small and unclean (dirty marks on the walls and the carpet across the room). i will rate this accommodation as average and only suitable for 1 night stay only if no other hotels are available near by.
Since we arrived the staff have been nothing but lovely! Complimentary tea & coffee while we were been checked in... helpful when ever we needed ... beds are unbelievably comfortable bit off the beat and track in terms of Paris city centre but the train station is 2 mins away ...straight into st lazare station (2 stops(7mins) and u can go Any where ! Delightful hotel we will be back ??
We checked out at this hotel yesterday, and it wasn't that bad unlike most of the people who are reviewing here. The receptionists were a bit grumpy but they are trying their best to help and entertain their guests specially in talking english. At first i thought the receiptionist was rude cuz the first night i asked here something but it seems like she was not in the mood to entertain and was on the phone talking arabic. But the second day i didn't even expect that the arab lady receptionist asked me if i am doing good and greeted me a happy new year with a big smile! The room was very clean when we just checked in. However the carpet was covered in maybe cigarrette burns and all sorts of stains. Room service was horrible! We cameback from the city late afternoon but they were still doing our room and made us wait in the hall way for 30 minutes and we didn't mind because were not in a hurry. So when we thought they were done, we entered the room but we saw that they left some cleaning cloth and they even put back our used towels back on the radiator towel rail and didn't put an extra small towels so basically the only thing they did was the bed. They didnt even check if we have new coffee or tea. The Breakfast was very very good specially on our first morning there is a enthusiastic lady at the dining area who's entertaining everybody went in every table to serve us food and greeting everybody in their own language so funny! which i think not her job she even talked with kids and giving them high fives. It was our second time in paris so transportation was fine for us specially if you know where to go so we took buses going to la defense and from la defense we took the metro to explore paris so the over all experience was great! We just don't get why we need to pay for a 100 euro deposit cuz it doesn't make any sense!
We were welcomed by the receptionist who was very inviting and welcoming. However, things changed once we were informed we had to pay 50 euros per night for a security deposit. We stayed for 3 days therefore, had to give straight up 150 euros. An additional charge of 50 euros was for breakfast. It was very inconvenient. I understand that a security deposit is necessary but not at that price, especially the hotel being located in zone 3. The room was tidy but the carpet was very dirty and stained. The fridge is not included with the room, an additional 10 euros per night for a small empty fridge. Furthermore, the female receptionist at the desk with brown hair, very rude! We shall not be attending this hotel ever again.
We were very excited about the facilities, quality and ambience of this 4-star hotel. The problem was the very disagreeable way we were treated to the hotel reception. Rebecca and her older colleague - we do not know her name - were distinguished by naughtiness, contempt, inapplicability, lack of any help. All the explanations I have asked about the warranty required by the Western Hotel have made them hostile and completely unprofessional to us, clients who had a 12 nights accommodation! The room had the sink obstructed, the non-functional safe, the bathroom radiator inoperative. The receptionists were bored and SEEMED TO INVITE US to go looking for another hotel. It's incredible how it was possible to employ these two people in the Western hotel chain. They do not even know the formula " I'm sorry ". The other receptionists are wonderful helpers and professionals. They have saved the Western picture during this long vacation. We do not know if the two receptionists are French, but never during our visits to France we have encountered more disagreeable women!!!!!
Good hotel, that does what it is meant to do. Comfortable bedding. I am surprised by the 4 stars rating as it does not necessarily matches the excavations of a 4 stars but it is ok. We have not tried the breakfast. One word of caution: quality of staff is hit and miss. We had 4 different people at the front desk: 2 were nice and helpful and 2 were absolutely useless. May go back if in the area.
We expected Best Western to do better. We booked last minute and the front desk people were really “unhelpful”. The rooms were spacious but dirty. The carpet was stained and looked as if it had not been cleaned since it was installed. Very disappointed!
The hotel is situated nearby our office and offers good size rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfast is fine, only the room in which the breakfast is served is rather small. It was my 2nd stay in the Best Western Suitcase.
Visited this hotel for a stay for 2 nights for my first leg of the journey and for 01 night for the second leg of the journey. The hotel had a very small reception with the breakfast area and tables almost touching the reception area. There is always a stinking smell in the reception. The sofas are run down and are torn at some places. The reception staff specially a young girl ( can't remember her name though) was very rude and incorporating. For the first visit of the journey I was in a twin room with a friend sharing the room. We had different schedules and would leave the hotel at different times and return at different times. Only one electronic key was provided. We requested for a second key so that both of us could enter the room at our times. Also the key had to be used on the lift to reach our room. The young girl refused giving me another key saying that she does not have extra keys. I explained the problem to her but she was rude and adamant. I politely asked her how would I enter the room if I return late and my friend has already slept. She had the guts to say that knock on the door and wake up your friend. The hotel management needs to teach this young girl at the reception some manners and hospitality ethics before working at the hotel. On the contrary the staff at the breakfast area was very warm , friendly and helpful. Although I reached late for breakfast for the second led of my stay she offered me breakfast as I was a pure vegetarian. She was really very sweet. Now coming to the rooms. The rooms have smoke smell. The door of the shower cubicle was so hard that once you close it , you need 2 people to open it or else you would be stuck in the shower for the rest of the day. The telephone was disconnected and infact the wire was cut off. The water would not drain from the wash basin quickly. Attaching pictures as well. Overall not a good experience at all and would strongly recommend not to stay at this property.
The hotel is very well maintained and suitable for travelers there for business or who don't mind little bit of travel as it is 45 mins from the main City. They have basic restaurant but provide good buffet breakfast and provide microwave in room. They also have Carrefour right next door so it's very handy. Overall a very pleasant stay with helpful staff and highly recommended at the price.
I have stayed here several time. The hotel is quiet, fairly new, the location convenient, with a few shops and train station nearby. However the hotel is getting dingier with each visit. This last visit was the last straw for me. Cigarette smell in the room, stained carpets, stains on the bedspread, moldy bathroom, dial-up grade wifi (for real). This is an inexpensive hotel, but in 2017 a clean room should be a given.
Arrived at the hotel and very surprised only tiny little frontage and my heart sunk. Reception small but the lady was very helpful. Had booked a twin but given a double, immediately they sent a maid and split the bed. Very clean and tidy and cony beds. The location was perfect for my 3 night stay. Train station 3 minutes walk away. Very regular service to Paris St Lazare. Lovely little area with plenty shops and quite for sleeping. Will definitely stay here again if I visit Paris again. Breakfast fantastic value..... tip if arriving before ticket offices close on Thursday night and intend using public transport purchase a navigo decourtevo card ....22.15 euro for all travel including return to airports before midnight on Sunday
The hotel is located couple of stations from Le defence Center. Use bus 187 and take off the bus at Chanzy station. Then walk 2 minutes to the hotel. Lobby and the restaurant are small but breakfast is good at an acceptable level. Design of hotel is kind of modern but an essence of nostalgia is conveyed to visitors by using old fashion furniture and old style suitcases every corner. It reminds you of Paris in early 19's. The staff are friendly but man power wise the hotel is understaffed. If u need something you should go to the reception yourself and for example get some ice. I asked for brushing kit 3 times and they said we are coming but they never showed up because they were too busy and they forgot each time. They had locked the fridge and wouldn't open unless you paid 10 euros per night. But there were a fridge in the lobby you could use for free. Surprisingly the MI ro wave, tea maker and espresso machin were available in the room for free.
I have just returned from the Best Western Plus Suitcase Paris after having another very pleasant stay. I visit Paris regularly and stay at this hotel. I have never found cause for complaint. The staff are pleasant and efficient. The rooms are very comfortable and kept to a high standard. Coffee machines and bottled water are provided in the rooms. The coffee is excellent. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Bois Columbos Gare and you can be in central Paris within 20 minutes. The local bus service is very efficient and you can be in La Defense within 15 minutes. The hotel has an underground car park which is so convenient as finding a parking place for more than a few hours can be difficult on the street. I will be returning to this hotel and look forward to it. Other members of my family also use the hotel and have no complaints.
Long story short, the service at the Best Western Plus Suites La Defense is horrible. So much so, that I don't recommend anyone staying at the hotel. My wife and I chose this hotel for our visit to the Paris area. I was actually pleased with the facilities and location; after all, I was paying considerably less for this property than others around. I expected some concessions, but the level of service we received from check-in to check-out was abhorrent. I'll briefly recount a specific interaction with their reception staff. My wife and I arrived at the hotel around 7:45pm and sat at the bar. We were never acknowledged, nor were we assisted. The older gentleman was dismissive at best, stating "one of “them” will help you" before scurrying out of the building. Neither of these individuals offered to provide assistance. What is most frustrating, is that, throughout this 30 minute period, these people repeatedly glanced in our direction, never acknowledging us. We waited for this extended period to with the hope we would be helped at some point. Finally, I went to stand at the counter, to "force" someone to assist me. Having to force, coerce, or beg for service is simply unacceptable. We only had a simple question that would have taken no longer than 30 seconds to resolve. As a consumer, I feel it is my duty to warn other potential guests of this hotel's poor operations. I gave the hotel's manager 2 weeks to respond to my email, and I did not hear from them. I didn't “want” anything, other than for them to acknowledge this flaw in hopes no other patrons would experience it. From their lack of response, I can infer they don't care/ see nothing wrong.
I would recommend this place without any doubts! I've changed to this one as my previous location didn't meet the requirements. Nice staff, good breakfasts, well designed rooms, and absolutely comfortable beds (I've already miss them)!
It was a disaster experience, the rooms are very dirty as you can see from the photos attached, there are a construction works within the hotel or very nearby which made our stay even worse. The staff are not professional to the standards expected from such chain, the breakfast quality and quantity is poor, you do not feel comfortable when staying in the rooms because of the dirtiness. The quality compared to the rates is very bad while you can get better rooms in the same rates.
Location: We booked this hotel not knowing the location and because it was cheaper than other big names. You get what you paid for. Not impressed with the area. About 7-8km from the center too far to walk and the train was very crowded around 10:30am so walked on the way back. Staff: friendly and helpful Wi-fi: ok - weak every now and then Room: good size room with too much stuff, strange marks on the carpet (black and red...) and on the walls, toilet away from the bathroom, so you have to walk around the kitchenette to wash your hands afterwards (not ideal). No fridge or minibar but you have a range hood and a microwave. Could not turn off the heater in the bathroom so was a bit hot during the night. Overall strange smell around the corridors. Carpark: Free if you can get one on front of the hotel otherwise basement of the hotel for €15 a day. Breakfast: We did not choose the breakfast. No comment. Few bakeries in the area not many dinner options. If you are familiar and happy with the area it might be ok. Not for me thanx
Ok so firstly, I stay in this hotel purely for the location close to my office when I travel to Paris for work so in that respect it wins points on location. Rooms are compact and clean and have a good bathroom and even come with a small fridge (not minibar) if you want to store your own food. I have stayed here a number of times and have always had the same experience;there are always large groups that stay here and sadly if they all go down for breakfast early (which they do, trust me) they simply wipe out all of the available tables (there isn't a formal dining room, just an area off reception) and ALL of the food. I'm talking 40/45 people at a time. When you're trying to have a quick bite before work this can be a tad stressful but the staff are pleasant and try to accommodate whenever possible. The team on reception speak good English (if you don't parle Français) and can help with taxi bookings. Not my favourite but that's more to do with the large groups vs the actual hotel.
The breakfast was fine, lot of choices, even sausages and scrambled eggs ;-) it is a clean hotel and the room is small but has everything you need for a pleasant stay. The price quality is ok. It is a pity there is no metro station on walking distance. But public transport (bus) is very good.
Very sympatic and good situated Hotel. Normaly i would prefer this, because Price and Quality are in a very good relation. But to my Business Location was it a longer distance wenn normal. But the Hotel i could ever recommend.
Super clean hotel with very comfortable beds and pillows. Location is not the best for tourist attractions but public transportation is very close by. Breakfast bar with amazing options. Staff was very kind.
The service was excellent and the reception staff were very attentive. The bedroom was excellent. The only issue I had was finding the hotel. I had looked it up online before I left my start point. As I was travelling by train, the directions at the time were not clear. I therefore spent a long time looking. However, I understand that the hotel had not been open long at this time, so maybe this has been rectified now. If not maybe give instructions that are simple eg take the train to.....take the exit at ...end of the platform, turn right out of the station and keep going straight ahead.?
Stayed here for two nights for the euros. Secure parking at €15 per day. Clean and tidy rooms with an option for self catering. 15 mins to the centre of Paris on train. 5 min walk to station. Carrefour close by so convenient for supplies. Booked two rooms and they charged us for two cars we only had one so are waiting for a refund. Just check your bill when leaving.
Well, I'm really disappointed as our flight to Paris was cancelled one day before due to the fuel strike in France. Apart from not being refunded I wasn't even offered to transfer the two nights which I paid for to another date. Thanks for nothing BEST WESTERN!
This hotel is in a great location the train station is about 5 minutes away and the rooms are a great price and there clean they have a refrigerator and a microwave they also have real AC in Europe this is a BIG plus and the service is wonderful we will be staying here again
Although this hotel is new and the rooms quite spacious. It is not an easy commute to central Paris. As it is in a quiet residential neighbor hood. There are no great restaurants around. Pay the little extra and stay closer to the city. After the first day there was never any coffee refills. There were no tissues in the room. The toilet was always running and the construction next door woke me up at 730 am. Most hotel offer complementary breakfast not this place. You also have to pay $10 euro to use the fridge. New one for me.
I stayed in this hotel over the weekend during the bank holidays and was overall comfortable and glad with the stay. Although the fridge was locked but there was a microwave which you can heat up some snacks during the middle of the night should you still feel hungry. The layout of the room was very nice and stylish that includes a coffee machine for those whom likes expresso-type of coffee. Although there is no Metro or train nearby and it takes about 20 mins walk to the nearest station but I still feel safe. Nearby restaurant seems limited but there are not too bad as well.
Hotel is very well located, close to the train station. it is clean, rooms are decent, buf for me it does not give impression it is cozy or feel like home. Dark colors in the lobby and plain style of the room.
Maybe it's unfair this kind of critic for an hotel that after all is enough comfortable, clean well arranged and so but...it's unthinkable to have such a bad customer service at as early as ...11.00h p.m., so not in the meddle of the night. I started to request a simple blanket because the room doesn't have any spare blanket or edredon. The air conditioning is not connected for heating in beginning of May...in Paris!! And the bed has a very thin edredon. The receptionist, called Christophe postpones the delivery of this simple spare blanket more then one hour so I could only sleep much latter then I was expecting and I have the right to. Also the English level from this person is not at required level because after all this waiting, he delivered me....some meal that was not requested. I had to explain that was....a blanket so more 15 min waiting. Really unbelievable in a civilized country and at a hotel chain with some brand name in the market.
I stayed in the hotel for two nights. It is a little away from the city center, but there is a train station 15 minutes walking. There is a supermarket right below the hotel. The room had a modern style, it was clean and with comfortable bed and enough space. The only downside is that the refrigerator was locked, and I had to pay to use it to store things that I buy.
Great hotel although the staff need to keep up to date with local happenings. Asked for a restaurant recommendation only to find it had closed. Location is great for Paris better off staying more central to eat though. Local train station only 10 minutes into Paris and the metro is easy to get around on.
Location excellent for business, whether in Paris or i.e. in the direction of Poissy area at less than 30 minutes, as well as for visiting La Defense and Bois de Colombes or trips further into Paris. Possibility to just enter via de parking garage, so no hassle with double parking in front of the hotel. Rooms splendid and lobby/lounge design very interesting, but very convenient for business and leisure.
Very nice stay at this hotel, rooms are modern and nicely furnished, the staff is nice and the breakfast really complete. The only bad point would be the state of the walls and carpet, that were stained.
The staff is very friendly. The parking below the hotel costs 15 euro per day, so you can leave your car safe. The rooms are tast full decoratedand also spacious. The wifi worked good. This was the second time we stayed here and it was certainly not the last time. Within a short walk from about 5 minutes you arrive at the train station of Bois Colombes. Train ticket to the center of Paris ( St Lazaire) 2,75 per person. It takes about 10 minutes. This time we went here to celebrate the new year. All the public transport, including to Bois Colombes) is free from 12.00 o clock on 31 december till 12.00 o clock 1st of Januar. We can recommend this hotel highly.
No complaints, the hotel was clean and the amenities were acceptable. The breakfast was great as well. The only problem was that there is no food open late in the area =/ but other than that there were no complaints.
The Best Western Plus Suitcase Hotel in Bois Colombes, La Defense, France was very clean and well maintained. Our family spent 5 nights while sight seeing in Paris. Very close to the commuter train which connected to the Metro. Many nice restaurants nearby. Small grocery store on the same block was very convenient. Somewhat challenging to request additional supplies such as face clothes and house coats which were an option. The buffet breakfast was quite nice overall though a small seating area. There are renovations that will apparently enlarge this area soon. Quite a distance from CDG airport, costly taxi ride. Overall recommend this location with 4 stars.
I've stayed in the hotel for two night. Rooms are clean and nice, very comfortable bed, clean bathroom and what I really liked is the TV which has USB inputs so I could watch my films on it :) Breakfast really nice - good choice of bread, rolls, croissants, ham, cheese, fruits, yogurts and cereal. the only thing which was really disappointing is that the water bottle and coffee in your room is not refilled during your stay... so when I got back late night after work I had to drink tap water...
When we arrived in our room, there entire carpet in front of the bathroom was wet. After a quick discussion with the friendly front desk team, we got an upgrade to a suite. The suite was very nice. Breakfast was not included, but there's a supermarket right next to hotel, where you can buy sandwiches and croissants. What you need to know, is that you can't reach the hotel with the Metro, as the hotel is in a close suburb (You need to take a RER train (1 Stop), which is not complicated)
Most of the staff were kind and over accommodating, I had to be shown four rooms before I found a barely acceptable room. ROOM 1. Carpet was FILTHY, furniture knicked, walls scuffed and in dire need of paint, and the towels were on the floor!! Never mind the pad locks on all the drawers ... ROOM 2. Carpet not as filthy as room 1, but still grungy. Walls needed paint. ROOM 3. Still grungy. Room 4. Minimally acceptable and I mean minimally. In all the rooms I've stayed in over the years, this place is the worst. It barely passes as a two star let alone a 4. I tried to cancel my reservation and get my money back, but They wouldn't budge. I took pictures, but I'll have to add them later from my desktop. Do yourself a favor and stay closer to Paris. You are not saving money as taxis and trains offset the LITTLE you might save.
Clean and very nice room. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast not the best, but OK for a standard hotel. Train station is just around the corner, so perfect to move into the hart of Paris from there. Lots of little restaurants nearby, but I prefer the restaurants near gare lazare which is only 8 minutes away by train.
This hotel was really comfortable and clean. It was located 2 minutes walk from the train station. The train takes 9 minutes to get in to the centre of Paris. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. We go to Paris regularly and we will definitley stay there again. By the way the bed was exceptionally comfortable !
Nice and clean hotel for a couple of nights, but quite noisy (not good noise insulation within the building) and room was quite basic (eventhough quite large room). Small breakfast area which was quite crowded and in the middle of the lobby so not very cosy.
I stayed at this Hotel for 7 Days from the 2nd to the 9th of September. I found the Hotel to be in a good location beside Bois Colombes train station the Hotel Rooms are very comfortable good bed bathroom and shower are decent quality rooms are sound proofed Breakfast was good a good selection of foods the staff are very helpful I would stay here again the only problem is there are not a lot of Restraunts in Bois Colombes mostly take always Pizza & Chinness.
Had a single night stay here recently which is close enough to the city centre for business purposes but outside of the rush of the city. I usually stay in the heart of La Defense, but decided to try somewhere different and wasn't disappointed. There's a square which is popular for restaurants a 15 minute walk away but nothing in the immediate area other than a couple of takeaway restaurants for pizza and Asian food. A five minute walk to a Japanese restaurant which served great food at a good price and lovely atmosphere. Dining area for breakfast can be a little hectic but manageable. Coffee machines in each room with 4 espresso coffee pods supplied. Spacious rooms, extremely comfortable beds and a modern, clean bathroom.
I stayed here based on the high previous ratings but I never actually read the reviews in great detail. I read them after the first day because I was very unimpressed by staff and breakfast service. I'm confused because the problems are flagged up by reviewers but then 4 or 5 ratings are still given. I expect a lot more from a 4 star hotel. I guess the rating is not official. A major positive is the rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The beds are excellent. That's the end of the positives. Staff at breakfast are rude and fairly incompetent. The breakfast area is very small but yet 2 members of staff cannot keep the food, cutlery and plates stocked. Tables are not cleared quickly. Noticed many guests sat waiting for 10/15 minutes before they could begin breakfast because there were no plates or bowls. Side plates are offered, not proper plates. The plates are genuinely no bigger than a saucer. Seems senseless to me because then guests need about 4 plates and then the clean plates keep running out! You have to boil your own eggs. I asked if the hot water was there to boil the eggs or reheat them, i.e. are the eggs cooked? The member of staff made me feel like an idiot for asking such a silly question. I heard the same question asked by multiple guests. They got the same treatment. The problem with this is you place your egg into the water to boil and then another guest, either accidently or not, lifts your egg. When you go back 5 minutes later to lift what you think is your egg, it is actually not cooked. Of course what happens next is you crack a raw egg onto your saucer. I found it very amusing the amount of cracked raw eggs I saw on empty tables that hadn't been cleared yet. The location is grand but not great. This is not a fault by the hotel as they do not claim to be central but I would not recommend the location. There are hotels within city zone 1 that are as good a standard at a similar price. The reviewer who said you can access the hotel via the RER is 100% wrong. You must get a transilien train from saint Lazare. It is only 2 stops and takes 10 minutes. Then you have a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro. The cost of a return ticket is €5.50. This adds up if you need to visit the city every day which you will do because there is nothing to do in Bois Colombes. If you are staying for a few days and you are visiting Disneyland and you have 2 airport transfers then buy the zones 1-5 city pass for the amount of days you need. The guy at the airport told us we would not need one. We believed him. We stayed for 4 nights. A 5 day unlimited travel cost €60. The cost of a single from Orly was €7.50. A return ticket to Disneyland was €15. 4 return tickets to the city was €22. A book of 10 inner city metro tickets was €15. A single to Charles to gaulle was €12.50. As you see we spent over €70 on tickets and we had to juggle lots of different tickets. Take my advice and get the city pass and have one ticket does all. Even if you are at a slight loss I would still advise the city pass. The hotel offers tea and coffee on the first night only. I have never stayed at a hotel that does not replace the tea, coffee and milk each day. Especially a 4 star hotel. This is very disappointing, considering all it would cost the hotel. I asked for more tea and milk and was refused. Was told it would be replaced at next house keeping visit. It was not. Again this seems so silly to me. I could have booked 1 night at a time and checked out and back in every day. Would have cost me the same and would have got my tea and coffee replaced. Cannot recommend this hotel. There are much better in Paris for similar price.
5 day trip to paris Environment: quiet part of city, train 3 minutes by foot, perfect basis for a city trip Hotel room: clean, large bathroom, fantastic bed, boiler, microwave Breakfast: awesome croissants, small but fresh and tasty
Hotel standards were superb. The rooms were clean and my children absolutely loved their stay. The kitchenette area also was a bonus as we could make our drinks and had supermarket next to the hotel for snacks etc. the rooms were cleaned to a good standard. We didnt have breakfast there so cant comment on how it was. There was minimal noise levels and rooms were bigger than ordinary Paris hotels which is a plus especially when travelling with a family.we loved the fact it was outside central paris and area is laid back and near train station,2supermakets,pizza shops etc
Great staff, modern clean hotel, delicious breakfast, close to commuter train, two stop to access all of Paris! The room was clean and very modern, green hotel which saves the environment, heated towels, rain shower option and fog free mirror in spacious bathroom, large room with comfortable beds and amenities, free Wi-Fi but access a little tricky at end of the room/hall. Staff was very nice, pleasant and professional with warm greetings and prom[t service. Delicious hot and cold breakfast was a true value and great start to the day. Modern elevators with a lounge in the lobby and great Carrefour food mart next door gives great food/drink options at low price. nice and friendly restaurants serving home made pizza, Lebanese and crepes nearby.
