Hotel Haarhuis

Arrived with such high hopes as appearance when entering is wow! Staff all lovley ,super polite . Room looked perfect ....although a little unsure about the glass bathroom door. Unfortunately the room cleaning was almost non existant .2 days out of our 4 we had to ask at reception for towels and ond toilet roll and also our room to be cleaned ......even after this was done Hand soap was not filled ,even when we requested it .. Expected a better experience all round and this would make me look at what's on offer from other hotels in the area .

Its a nice hotel. Cool design, nice bed and so on. However, there are a few issues. The room isolation is sub standard, in the first floor room, you can hear all the traffic outside, including everything people are saying on the streets... The toilets are not soft close (really so 1990''s...). The breakfast is nice, but there was a very loud group, obnoxiously loud, and the management did nothing to ask them to reduce the noise.

Comfortable hotel. We had a room facing the back so it was quiet. Location convenient for restaurants. Avoid the hotel parking it was narrow, under construction and more expensive than the station parking opposite. Didn't have the breakfast tried nearby coffee bars instead.

Perfect location across the street from both the main station and the central pedestrian zone with shopping streets, bars and restaurants. The entire hotel is beautifully furnished. Helpful staff. The room was out to a busy street with a lot of car traffic and the windows are not exactly sound-proof. However, with the heavy curtains drawn the noise subsided sufficiently. The main drawback was the breakfast. It was nicely presented but the choice severely limited, quality just OK, and the price way over the top.

If you like to sleep with air conditioning the whole night, it is not possible. Every night it shuts off automatically around midnight. Waking up from the warmth to turn it on again. It has been my 4th night of interrupted sleep. At the front desk they told me that this was part of their energy saving tactics. They even offered to bring me a fan, which never arrived. Not even to mention you can hear your neighbors flushing toilets and showering, slamming doors. All the great things that this hotel has to offer fall into nothing if your sleep is compromised consistently. Shure wouldn't book this hotel in the summer!

This hotel was nice rooms nice, location perfect. Close to the oaks but also a two minute walk from the main strip of bars for a night out . If staying in Arnhem and this hotel I'd recommend the train it's across the road from the station , parking a car is not recommended from me

We decided to spend the Saturday night in Arnhem, and therefore to stay in this hotel; the hotel is located near the main station, 10mns walking to the center..however, teaching the hotel is not easy, Arnhem is not a car friendly city and you will have to do a lot of detour before reaching the hotel. The hotel has a aprking, but places are small and limited. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, the room was cleaned and spacious enough (we got the one with a kitchen..), our dog was welcome (for an extra fees of 45€, and breakfast was good. We slept well, no noise, and aircon is working well. One minor thing, the bar of the hotel was opened but not appealing..there is another bar on the roof, but places are limited and you need to reserve in advance.

Last week we had been staying at the Hotel Haarhuis for the tenth time – whenever we attend the 4Daagse this is our choice. It is close to the train station and we can get out breakfast at 2:15am (!). The hotel is quiet and clean, and our room was great. Over the last years the hotel was extensively refurbished, but we were happy to see many of the friendly hotel staff again – Helen and Jan, to name a few. When we came back from our exhausting walks we were welcomed by Bart with refreshments. We are looking forward to our next stay in 2023!

Ideal location, The location is close to the train Arnhem station and city center is perfect. Breakfast is good. friendly staff with great view on the roofclub! rooftop had really good drinks with a nice ambiance.

Had a lovely 5 night at the Haarhuis. Lovely refurbishment and upgraded to a superior room. Staff were absolutely fantastic and were great! Good selection for breakfast every morning. No complaints at all!!!! Will go back with no hesitation.

This hotel is great! • Great location right by train and bus station, but hotel is quiet and clean so does not seem like it is near a train station • Very helpful and friendly hotel staff. Martijn in particular made our stay so much better. He gave great recommendations on where to go, helped us find the best bus route, and then when the Netherlands train and bus computer system crashed on the day we were supposed to leave, we could walk back to the hotel and Martijn helped find a unique car sharing app with someone going the direction we were going. Then he helped translate the app so we could reach out to the person • Rooms are very clean and nice (so is lobby) • Has a decent gym ( a rarity for Dutch hotels) Overall - highly recommend the hotel, especially for the price (perhaps we got a good price as we booked very last minute)

They have renovated this hotel to make it an actual luxury experience. My room was comfortable, spacious, and had all of the luxury accoutrements (in-room sauna, jacuzzi tub, multi-head shower, balcony) that one could every want. Service is impeccable. Location can't be better, directly across from Arnhem Centraal train station. Highly recommend.

Great interior design. Interesting rooms, especially the lofts ( in pictures). Decent breakfasts. Nice restaurant on ground floor. Unfortunately rooftop bar was during our visit closed. Although there should be parking available at the hotel, count with parking in parking house across the street for at least 15 eur a day. Great hotel for party or late evening business meetings.

We stayed two nights in a design suite of this hotel. It was design but the name suite was a bit too large for this, furthermore, well equipped room. A bath tube in the midst of the room, a rain shower and a separate toilet, not having a place to put your things on (book, glasses, a drink). A nice king bed and a good breakfast. Why do we choose for average and not very good? The room was rather noisy because of the air-system. There was no lazy chair, and we were missing a second sink. Had to wash your hands with shampoo. Toilet paper very very thin. We had to clean the sink from hair of the visitors before us. The safe was situated on the bottom of the wardrobe so you had to kneel on the floor to put your things away. Although the room was new some items were already broken. Their was only one elevator. On the other hand a very kind staff, a nice lounge and a very good starting point to visit the city of Arnhem.

My work brought me to Arnhem and I selected This Best Western for its location. I was not expecting much bit It turned out to be a really nice gem of a hotel. I stayed in a contemporary furnished room with a huge bed and a free standing tub. I loved it! The hotel has a funky rooftop bar with great views and a nice menu. It even boasts an inhouse ice cream parlour! All this comes with a great location and friendly staff. I definitely reccommend this place

It is a very comfortable hotel, with helpful service and convenient rooms. A good deal in price and quality! The breakfast could be a little bit more bold, concerning eggs and warm food, but it is just question of tastes:)

Rooms a little old but main issue is the detergent or cleaning that have a very strong smell. Needed to have window open 2h before I could be in room. In addition ventilation in room was not working so very humid air in room in the morning. Breakfast ok.

This has to be one of the nicest hotels I had the pleasure to stay in. The staff on reception were spot on, friendly pleasant with good recommendations of where to eat and enjoy the pleasures of Arnhem. I booked a double, the room was tastefully decorated. Extremely comfortable bed, perfect as on this trip I was doing a lot of walking. Bathroom was small but again perfect. Coffee machine, WiFi and tv was also in the room. I dined in the restaurant within the hotel again the hotel Haarhuis did not disappoint, very reasonable portions food was piping hot and great service. I'm certainly going to be re booking this hotel again on any further trips to Arnhem. This hotel is situated directly opposite Arnhem main train and bus station, around an hour by train from Schiphol Airport. We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the train station and the city center. We booked with the triple A rate on the BW site, which gives you a better rate than 3rd party resellers. The king bedroom was a good size and very quiet. The king bed was no bigger than a queen size bed. We did not raise it as an issue with the hotel and do not know if that is a European thing, but when I book a king, I would like a king. A couple of things to consider: The lighting in the room is extremely dim including in the bathroom. Thus this is not a good room if you are elderly or have poor eye sight. The bathroom was enclosed by glass and the door was not lockable. You could see the user naked on the toilet and in the shower. Thus this room is this not appropriate for business or family where privacy is required. There was odd placement of furnishings which made the room feel smaller than it was. To get to the hotel from the train station one has a half a pedestrian crossing that is guarded by traffic lights. The other half closest to the hotel is a service road and is not guarded and you put your life at risk to cross it, with bikes and fast moving cars, particularly during rush hour. The hotel should work with the city to get a full side walk installed. You could cross more safely by going the long way, however do you really want to do that in the Dutch rainy climate ( it is about 3 times as far to walk). The breakfast is over priced and there are better options in the city nearby. The location of this hotel is excellent and would be the main reason for selecting it again. There are better options in the city at other locations, if location is not a priority.

We had a room on the 3rd floor, which was in the MIDDLE of a contraction... Dust everywhere! The ceiling was falling apart (see pictures). Our room was in the front of a contraction area. We couldn't get another room since they had no rooms left. The lady, assistant manager, at the front desk literally told us that we should be happy with our room since there are worst rooms at the 3rd floor. She didn't show any interest. We had to ask twice for an iron and an iron table. And finally we received a mini version of it... The coffee machine was not working properly. The walls are too thin etc. We mentioned everything when checking out but they lady at the front desk tried to defend everything instead of showing a little bit of sympathy... We are really disappointed.

This hotel was a disappointment. Shabby rooms in need of refurbishment. We thought it was 4 star but it wasn't up to the standard of a British Travelodge. Worst of all, it was horribly noisy. We could hear doors slamming, TV and music from other rooms and a group of men talking / shouting till very late. Not much sleep as a result so we left early and found another hotel. The receptionists were good and cancelled our booking so we only paid for one night - though maybe they could have not charged us that since I didn't sleep. Parking was terrible. We queued for ages for an elusive space in the station car park. Only good thing was breakfast which was delicious. They even had a machine making freshly squeezed orange juice.

We stayed at this hotel during our first motoring holiday in 2017 and enjoyed the place then. What we liked then we still like now, smart and friendly staff, nice spacious rooms and good food. The bathroom in the fourth floor was bigger than the entire cabin of the DFDS ferry we didn't enjoy the previous night. Only minus point is the overhead collider style square shower head flooded a good proportion of the area around the walk in shower. The people who ooh and aah at these designer features presumable never use them! Otherwise the place was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. There are ongoing exterior building works, set to last well into 2020. The contractors use the rear carpark and start at 07.00. Due to a miscommunication, our car impeded their progress. That said, the foreman was very pleasant and hosed off the dust on our car. Thank you for that! The restaurant also doubles up as the breakfast bar, spacious and well served. The evening meal was very tasty, the following breakfast outstanding. My wife went nuts for the dripping honeycomb, it took three visits to the breakfast bar for a 'fix'. Prices reasonable, only the sterling exchange rate made it seem more expensive.

Stayed at Hotel Haarhuis for four nights using it as a base on my holiday to explore the area. The hotel is directly opposite Arnhem Central Train Station. It's just one hour to Amsterdam, 15 minutes to Nijmegen and an hour to Eindhoven. I had a single room on the top (4th) floor which was adequate for my needs. The room had complimentary coffee and a free to use room safe. The free hotel wifi was also very reliable and ran throughout the building. Breakfast was from 0630 hrs and was excellent with toasts/bread, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, cooked and other things. There was also teas, coffees and various fresh fruit juices. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. Besides being opposite the train station, there is a Spar supermarket also opposite and McDonalds for those that want fast food. You are however within less than 5 minutes walk to the city centre where there are numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the renovations being done on the 4th floor which were right next to my room. The workmen were on site hammering and making a noise from just after 7am. Whilst I used them as an alarm clock to get up to make the most of my day, it would be an annoyance if you wanted a bit of a lie in. If you're booking the hotel in the coming weeks then you may wish to consider this when your room is allocated. Other than that, the work must be done and who knows, you may be lucky to get one of the newly refurbished rooms! The hotel was reasonable in price and suited my needs. Although unlikely that I will return to the same area, I would not however hesitate to recommend Hotel Haarhuis to friends and family who may consider staying in this part of Holland.

Best western is a trusted chain for us, it never fails to deliver standard good quality at a very fair price. I enjoyed the location right in the city centre, by the train station. I loved the room, very updated, wooden floors, and lovely views. Best choice of hotel in Arnhem doubtlessly.

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night for a business trip. I checked out in the morning and left my suitcase and backpack in the luggage area of the hotel. When I came back I looked for my charger and I didn't find it in my bag so I realised I left it in the plug next to my bed. Reception called housekeeping and they didn't find anything in my room. I asked to call again because it would not be anywhere else. Two hours have passed since I left my room and my baggage's were with you, so I couldn't have lost it. They made me go and check in the room myself and right it was not there. So who took it then? They didn't offer me anything for it. For an hotel of that standard you would expect a different sort of service when things go missing in to your room. Especially as they sell phone chargers behind the reception desk, the minimum they could have offered was to refund me with one of them. Disappointing and upsetting experience.

I stayed in room 305, it was a family room with 1 queen bed, 2 bunk beds. First thing that was not good was, there were a flight of stairs leading to my room. I had 4 big luggage with combined weight of more than 80kg which I had to lug up the steps. That is really not a fun thing to do. Then the room I stayed in, had no doors to both the shower area and the sink area, basically no door to the toilet. And we found out the reason why, was because the toilet lights were not functioning. There were no switches to it so we showered in the dark. The design of the toilet reminds me of a prison cell, with tiles halfway through and a huge cleaning broom in the middle. I have to say in terms of location, it is super convenient, right opposite Arnhem Centraal station. That, is the only selling point. However, it was noisy at night as there were people laughing and drunk on the streets so if you are a light sleeper, you would not be sleeping much!

Stayed here for one night with members of my orchestra, for a morning rehearsal after recordings in Haarlem. Arrived at midnight, and had to be up at 7 a.m., so it was straight to bed for me. Bed very comfortable, and everything else was very satisfactory, though the single room felt a little small. I could not get the TV to work, which was disappointing, as I like to listen to the news in the morning while getting ready. The breakfast was really excellent, either continental or full-English available, and a large assortment of fresh breads, cheese and meats, yoghourt and fresh fruit and orange juice, as well as smoked salmon. It was enough to sustain me through lunchtime to the evening. The staff were very friendly and asked every departing guest if they had enjoyed their stay.

It's just a few minutes location from the Arnhem railway station, which is very well known to my business partner. High street shops and bars etc. everything's quite convenient! Coffee capsules free of charge!

Very good, clean hotel with a friendly staff. I parked my car across the street in the parking garage for the central train station. We were there in June and glad that the hotel provided a oscillating fan- it would have been very warm in the room with out the fan. Great location near shops, restaurants and more- I would stay again.

The transport strike, on the 28th, meant I needed to stay in Holland a day longer than I'd planned to and I couldn't extend my stay at the hotel in Elst (see separate review), I'd been staying in. I had to be out of one hotel by 11am and couldn't check in here until 3pm, but the Haarhuis (Her House, in English) has storage facilities and that gave me the ability to walk around Arnhem centrum (centre) and visit the Airborne At The Bridge exhibition (see separate review), without having to drag my luggage around with me. In an effort to keep my costs down, I'd booked a single room (without breakfast, as there's plenty of shops and fast food places around Arnhem Centraal), but the receptionist did some checking and gave me a free upgrade to a double room, instead. The room itself was very light and spacious, but lacked air conditioning - which was slightly made up for by having opening windows and, being north facing, the room was shaded from the Sun for the most part.. Some have commented on the noise level in the rooms at the front, but it wasn't all that noticeable to me (perhaps, because the strike meant a there were very few buses, no Trolleybuses and few trains were running), despite having the secondary glazing open the entire time I was staying. It came with all the normal amenities, such as a wardrobe, flat screen TV and coffee machine (why no tea, though?). The bed was single beds, pushed together, but had a (thin, but very firm) double mattress on top and I slept extremely well. The bathroom, whilst small, was very well laid out - though, being a slightly bigger framed man, I did find getting in and out of the shower to be a bit of a struggle, as the door only opened half way. The water was hot and very plentiful and the soap/shampoo provided did mean I didn't have to go rooting around in my case to find my own. In conclusion, staying wasn't planned, but it's a lovely hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff, and I'm glad I booked.

Opposite the train station - with great connections through to Schiphol. The hotel building looks to date from the 30s but its been well modernised with all the services you are likely to need. The rooms are smallish and look a little Spartan but are perfectly comfortable - AC would be good though on a hot summers day as the background noise from outside is pretty noticeable with the room window open. Breakfast buffet selection good and overall good service levels

This is my 3rd stay at the hotel. Location is perfect, just opposite the railway station. Rooms are large, clean and well looked after. This time I had a room facing the main street with substantial traffic, but sound isolation was perfect so noice was not a problem. Friendly and service minded front desk staff. Good breakfast as well. I would love to come again.

This hotel is situated right in front of the Arnhem train station. Nice interior, great breakfast buffet and a very good cuisine. Unfortunately my room had no airco and as it was situated at the front side, it was difficult to leave a window open because of the traffic. Apart from that. The room was great. Not big but nice, clean and everything I needed with a decent bath room.

Stayed here for 4 nights and had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the station. Room was quite hot but reception provided us with a fan when asked. Noose could be heard from outside but was not too bad and did not disturb us. Room cosy but has everything needed. Soap and shampoo provided in dispensers. Hairdryer very good in bathroom and I have long hair! Breakfast plentiful with lots of hot and cold choices.

This hotel is located opposite the central station. The rooms are comfortable and worth the money. They can be noisy at certain times, as you face onto a busy road. However closing the windows reduces most of this, though some seeps in. It didn't stop me sleeping but it did to others. The staff are attentive, welcoming and very helpful, even providing fans, if asked; there is no air conditioning and many rooms are south facing. The breakfast is very good and includes hot and cold options, fruit and cereals. Just help yourself. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a junior suite. Big but old, that's OK. However, we asked for a quite room, this is the PROBLEM. We could hear people footsteps and their voice in the alley. We can even hear people from next room opening their door, using their shower water, even drunk and talking loud at 3AM. Very clear as if they talked right in front of us. Will never stay here anymore... Quite room? Yeah.... Right....

What a great 4 night stay. Great location, great staff, fabulous breakfast. Bang opposite the central station and very easy to get in to the town centre. When I return, I will use this hotel again. The rooms are very spacious and comfy.

Fantastic hotel right in the centre of Arnhem. The many bars and restaurants of the town are just across the road seconds away. The hotel itself is clean and the staff very friendly and well informed. We had a double room which had everything we needed. Huge bathroom with walk in shower and a full bath, bed was King size and comfortable, plenty of hanging room in the wardrobe and a safe included. Coffee machine and fridge also included along with a flat screen tv (not used) The bar and restaurant staff were very attentive and breakfast each morning very good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed her on a Sunday night as my wife had a course in the centre of Arnhem starting early on Monday morning. The hotel is opposite the station and the large car park underneath the station. The hotel itself does not have any parking. Reception staff were pleasant and efficient. Our double room was large and comfortable, albeit not the most modern. There was a fridge and a coffee machine with an adequate supply of coffee pads. The room doors were very strange looking: heavy and very thick so they resembled that of a prison. I assume that were necessary to conform to fire regulations. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, Perron 5, which was less satisfactory (see separate review). .

Perfect location in a center of Arnhem, next to the railway and bus station. 100 meters to shops and restaurants. Quiet rooms, very tasty and fresh brakfast. Wide range of products to choose. Very kind and professional personnel.

Just superb. Parking a problem but hey nothing is perfect. Location outstanding. Food superb. Will definitely go back. Nothing to complain about. Early check in and late out. No problems at all. Cant fault it.

Friendly and kind staff throughout. They will go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and of good quality. If I stayed in Arnhem again I would come back to this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for one night in early February 2019. You could not ask for a more central location and the breakfast buffet was good. They originally had placed me in a room on the first floor overlooking the front door and train station. As I'm a light sleeper I asked to be moved to a room at the back of the hotel. Even though they were close to or sold out that night, the front desk staff accommodated my request and moved me to a smaller room at the back of the hotel. While I'm sure better than the first room I found the lack of carpeting in the rooms contributed to noise throughout the night. Overall an ok stay.

Centrally located. Parking is a problem- hotel parking is not cheap and accessibility from parking to the hotel is complicated. Room is poorly renovated. Atmpsphere in the corridors is unpleasant. Shower tend to fill with water, air conditioning didn't work. Staff was friendly.

The bed is comfy but the kettle is oddly placed on a desk that doesn't have any power points. Only glasses and not coffee cups were provided, making it weird to prepare a cup of hot drink. Still, it was a comfortable stay and I loved the online app that allows me to request for bedroom slippers or other housekeeping items. You can even check out online

3 of us stayed one night to visit the bridge Reception staff were excellent The barman would do better serving paying customers rather than flirting with tea drinking lone female bar attendees The single rooms are small but adequate and well planned Dinner was not good - an hours wait between starter and mains, which were mostly inedible, but quickly and satisfactorily sorted out by a table visit from the head chef Breakfast was a complete contrast - a superb range of foods, fresh orange juice, smoked salmon, lovely breads, good coffee

I stayed in June for 2 nights in the Best Western Plus Hotel Haarhuis **** in Arnhem, Netherlands. As a frequent guest in Best Western hotels throughout Europe, I was extremely disappointed in my stay. The room I stayed in was in very poor condition commensurate with the star level and claims of Best Western Hotels. I had a room in the category zoo theme with the number 407. Please see the pictures below. The following defects were detected during my stay: • rusty and dirty tiles at the shower • cracks and defects to the wall • dirt and stain around the tile base • door threshold broken • water egress in the whole bathroom • defects and spots on the wall • the mattress was worn out and very saggy and therefore uncomfortable • the windows were very dated and it was therefore very noisy in the room from the street noise and train station I cannot recommend this Hotel at all regarding the extremely poor conditions of my room, and therefore my stay. It certainly did not meet the expectations of a Best Western Plus **** Hotel.

My partner and I stayed here for one night for the airborne rememberance. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly and very helpful. Check in was smooth. The room was fantastic, spotlessly clean, very good size, and the bed was the most comfortable I have ever experienced in a hotel. The bathroom was also impressive with both a full sized bath and a walk in shower. The toiletries were also of a fantastic quality. The only down side ( and this might just be me), Is that part of the bathroom wall was only glass meaning and one else in the room could potentially see you use the loo! Breakfast also did not disappoint with a great selection on offer and of a good quality. Check out ran smoothly too. On returning home we had found that my partners card had been charged for the room both on check in and check out meaning we paid for the room twice. However this was quickly rectified by the hotel with ease and the second payment was refunded. Overall a fantastic stay and would definitely book again given the opportunity to return to Holland.

The hotel is ideally situated next to the railway station, I arrived mid morning and was able to have my luggage stored while I went out to explore the area. When I arrived back the friendly staff checked me in quickly and I went to my room. The room was clean, tidy and we'll equipped. The large bed was very comfortable and I had a restful night's sleep throughout my stay. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and tasty. The restaurant provided a tempting menu and I dined there every evening.(I recommend the Sweet Arnhem desert as a treat) When I checked out I was able to leave my bag in the store room until I caught my train in the late afternoon, this was appreciated as I could not find facilities at the station to leave my luggage. The whole stay (4 nights) was great, the only negative thing was that I found the WiFi to be intermittent, but that could have just been my own device and in no way spoilt my stay. It would certainly be my hotel of choice when I return to the area again.

Just over the road from the station and a short walk from the city centre, nice clean rooms and a good breakfast. Helpful friendly staff and happy to store your luggage from an early arrival on the train to checkin time. Only downside as like pretty much every chain hotel once inside you could be anywhere on the planet.

Stayed in the Balcony King room - what a beautiful room. Peaceful balcony. Room completely new. Room service was excellent. Location is Right opposite Arnhem Central station, all the stores and restaurants a few steps away . Had the perfect overnight. Arnhem is lovely, only 1 hour from Amsterdam

Very good hotel and lovely ladies at reception very welcoming and have safety locker for luggage and helped me to keep my baggage while I'm waiting for check-in. Warm welcome is always good to see Offered me a free breakfast while waiting for the rooms to be get ready for check-in... will def go back to same hotel again for next trip . East to find and it's opposite to Arnhem central train station . Just come out of train station and it's opposite and may be 100 meters approximately Have wide choice for breakfast with fresh juices and juicer maker for fresh oranges

They need to be more clear that some rooms have no A/C, and that it is very noisy on the street side if the hotel. Shower and hot water was very good, bed was ok. Location is very convenient, but I think there are also other options close to train station.

Hotel Haarhuis is a very comfortable and well staffed hotel in easy reach of trains, buses and the city centre. There is a lively centre with plenty od cafes, restaurants and bars within easy walking distance, and the town of Arnhem is always a pleasure to visit. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on business or pleasure.

In a central position, and just a few minutes walk from the station, this hotel turned out to be far better than I had expected. Very well organised and very clean, the staff make you feel welcome and at home from the moment you walk through the door.The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the facilities you could need (Superior room) and extremely good value for money. It's very easy to unwind and relax here.Restaurant and bar offer a top class service with good quality food and drinks. Nothing is too much trouble.Very impressed with the overall standards here, informal and yet above the "average", and the level of cleanliness is something of which they should be very proud!Will certainly stay here again when visiting Arnhem, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Located steps away from the train station and the many restaurants in the area. Nice room with a huge bed, nice workstation and a big bathroom. Was my second visit and I really enjoyed the little pub in the hotel. The bartender was great, thank you again for getting the restaurant to get me a burger on my late arrival.

We stayed here from the 10th to 12 august while visiting arnhem. The proximity to the mainline station and central shopping area is brilliant. Hotel is easy to find, check in was quick and very friendly and the hotel is in good condition. We got the double and the single room. The single is very sparse, shower, toilet and single bed with not much else, double room was much better with a bath, 2 large single beds and much more space. The breakfast in the mornings was very tasty with a large selection of cold meats, fruit, yogurts, cerea, bread and spreads. There was also bacon, scrambled eggs and sausages, which were very good. We intend to return here on our next trip to Arnhem

This place is centrally located and is directly across from the main train station, making this hotel perfect in terms of accessibility to other parts of Netherlands via public transport. Arnhem is not a particularly big place and most of the city attractions can be reached on foot. The service and breakfast at the hotel were particularly great. It was a bit noisy on the mornings although that is largely due to the activity around the area and mostly cannot be helped. All round an excellent place to stay with clean facilities and ample sized rooms.

I was there for two very hot August nights, and was upgraded free of charge to a room with AC....The first room was an economy single facing due south therefore very warm. I just asked for a fan but was given an air conditioned room on the far side of the hotel .Great Service.Wi Fi was good throuout the hotel, Breakfast was exceptional, casual but efficient serving staff....Well informed reception staff very helpful. Main train station just over the road .All Good.

Although it's a 4 star hotel when I arrived I was informed there is no air conditioning in the room and was asked if I would like to have a fan installed in my room for an extra fee! I was surprised by this and the response of the staff was "double rooms never have air conditioning!". Maybe in this hotel! This has never happened before and although I paid the extra to have the fan (because it was a very warm weekend) I still had to be relocated to the ground floor at the back of the hotel.

to make it short: normal rooms have neither a/c nor minibar. so we had to upgrade to „superior“ for 135€. result: a bath full of mold(see pictures), in the shower you can choose between very hot water and hot like hell water. no cold water available. at 6 am the night is over, you hear literally everything from the street, and since it's a train station there is noise. a whole lot of. you will not sleep. closing the window changes nothing.

I booked a number of rooms here in July and think I may have drawn the short straw. The single room I was allocated was on the fourth floor, there was electrical buzzing from the lights in the corridor and early in the morning I became aware of a regular noise like an alarm every few minutes , try sleeping when you are concentrating waiting for it to sound again . I did request a room change which meant paying for an upgrade but the room was far superior and was well worth the ( not too much ) cost. Breakfast was continental and perfectly adequate with plenty of choice. There was a bar, seating outside and a restaurant, staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel was right opposite the railway station and two minutes walk from town, I would use it again

I stayed here for two nights because of business. Since I work in the leisure industry, I was curious to sleep in the themed room of the zoo nearby. The theming was OK, but the room itself very outdated. There were large cracks in the walls, big spots of rust in the bathroom and a broken sink. I also had to ask the reception if they could clean the windowsill, because it was really dusty. The location is great, since it's right across central station. My room was at the front, but this time I didn't have noise because it was a strike from the buses. The staff was very nice, very helpful and the breakfast was also very good. Lots of choice and it tasted nice.

The Haarhuis Hotel in Arnhem is an old building in which at least some of the guest rooms do not offer the ability to control temperature in the room. I stayed two nights in mid-July 2018. Both evenings when I entered my room, the temperature was about 30 degrees Celsius. The only means to moderate the temperature was to open the window (onto a busy street) and sit in front of a small electric fan. By morning, the temperature had decreased to only 28 degrees. Sleeping was very difficult - a couple of hours maximum each night. If you visit Arnhem in the summer, I suggest a property that offers conditions more comfortable for sleeping.

I staid 2 nights in hotel Haarthuis in Arnhem and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. First impression as I walked through the corridor was of being in a prison . Besides the heavy metal doors make a terrible noise when they shut down. Then I entered the room and discovered old carpet on the floor, stained dirty walls, old and damaged furniture. The climatisation is very noisy and I woke up with dirt allergy : I think they need to clean the filters. The bathroom is from another time... with a very high tub, so if you are below 1,50 m high I imagine then it is a sport to get in... The bath curtain was very dirty at the bottom , becoming orange from mold. In the morning as of 7:30 the cleaning ladies make a lot on noise in the corridor and are vacuuming the floor!! If you wanted to sleep until 9:00 forget it , the noise they make will prevent any customer to relax or sleep late... seriously ! Can't they vacuum later in the morning or early afternoon ?! The rack of towel stays all day in the corridor taking half the wide : not only it gives a messy look, but in case of emergency it is not helping a swift escape from people with those big rack in the way ... For this quality , they totally overcharge the price of the room. Gives me the impression that there is no manager in the hotel. This hotel seriously needs to be renovated, and cleaning staff need to be trained not to make noise and leave a mess in the corridor. The only positive point : the staff from the restaurant is very friendly and professional , and the food is also very good.

8 hr. time zone change leaves you sleeping at 3p.m. rather than 11:00p.m. but the peace and quiet of the hotel helps you adjust quickly. Something light from the bar Dutch croquette and a beer....our bartender is fantastic and breakfast a Dutch delight with cold meats and cheeses. It's situated within walking distance of the cruise ship we will call home for the next 2wks. The staff is great and they all speak English so no problem communicating.

We chose one of the superior rooms at the hotel which has extra facilities, and were very pleased with our choice. Extra space, sauna, and bubbel bath. We really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful when needed. Getting to the hotel in a car is not easy. On the othehand, the railway and bus stations are just on the other side of the road. Great food at the "peron 5" resturant.

The hotel is located across the street from the Railway station - so very easy to find. This was my 2nd stay and I am again very pleased. Friendly front staff, spacious rooms which have been well looked after. Excellent breakfast as well.

We had a fabulous superior room at the front of the hotel so we looked out onto the train station. The rooms seemed to be soundproofed as we didn't seem to hear any noise. The air con worked. The room had a nice seating area. Nice comfy bed and good quality linen. Clean bathroom. Good power shower. Lacking a fridge which would have been soooo handy as it was hot! Great tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Not my thing but you could have prosecco with your smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! Everything was clean. English speaking staff. A lift although a set of steps to the superior rooms just in case anyone can't manage steps and is reading this. There is a Spar shop opposite which sells lovely salads and sandwiches if you don't want a big meal out. A Macdonalds is also opposite. However, it's a few strides before you start to see all the wonderful cafes and restaurants of Arnhem and there are hundreds of them. It's an amazing place. We loved it. This hotel is great for the train though if you need to be in Oosterbeek or further.

You cannot beat this location for convince for being right across from the Arnhem train station and also every trolleybus and bus route that operates in the Arnhem area. The hotel it'self is very nice.

+ location (near to the station, great start for city sightseeing) + fresh orange juice for breakfast + double windows (noises from the stree and hardly noticeable) - size of the room (almost claustrophobic) - no sport facilities (sauna, pool, gym) - rooms are not soundproof (you hear all noises from the corridor and next rooms) Hard to believe that this is 4* hotel.

I have been here for two weeks and the service was excellent. The food was tasty and it is most convenient due to nearby station, also for shopping. They also have a bar facility separate, which is nice. The ambience is cool...

I stayed here while visiting the Airborne Museum and the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum. The hotel's location, directly across the street from the main train and bus stations, is very convenient. The staff at the front desk were very helpful in providing information on the city. The room was comfortable and clean. The food in the restaurant tasted good too. Overall, a fantastic hotel.

Checked in for three nights ended up staying 7!! Terrific base for the area. Across from central station so day trips were very easy. The front desk particularly Meike found a perfect room for me and breakfast was abundant with many options walking across the street accesses old town with many restaurants etc within a two minute walk.

We stay here every year when we visit my uncle's grave. The staff are so good, they remember us, what we like, what we drink. So attentive, but also personalities, not automatons. They make us welcome and feel part of their family. Strongly recommend this lovely hotel, opposite the bus station, next to the train station, centre of Arnhem, perfect. I'd like to mention the staff by name but I'm afraid I would miss one and that would be unforgivable. We'll be coming every year, join the club!

The hotel is right in front of Arnhem rail station, convenient for shops and restaurants, which was a very good thing because the night we stayed was one of the coldest this winter at -3C. The staff were all friendly. The restaurant was nice and bright, and the breakfast buffet was excellent with good choices. On the other hand, the building above the ground floor could do with updating. The lift was rather old and small. The single rooms were OK, if rather dim with no ceiling light, but they only had cheap uncomfortable plastic chairs, not even upholstered. The shower room was clean enough, but the tiles looked tired and the water temperature wasn't steady. The hotel was OK, but it didn't feel like Best Western Plus (supposedly better than the plain and simple Best Western?).

What a nice room. Excellent choice of trendy furniture, very quiet, even with the railway station nearby. I had an upgrade and could enjoy a king size bed, one of the best ever. Staff very friendly. The coffeemachine with pads was a bit of a mess, but luckily the classical instant coffee was also available. In the stairways you see some residues of the old architecture with environmentally unfriendly glass bricks. Imagine how many heat escapes here. Breakfast room was also very well decorated. To be recommended.

I'm staying here for 15 days and actually was very pleasant to do it, big room, nice shower, beautiful view through the window, big and comfort bed and the personnel is very kind and very professional. Everyone in the hotel always have an smile for you. The food in the restaurant is very good and the breakfast is excellent. I recommend this hotel.

Stayed here over night while attending a music show at a nearby club. Great location (right across from the trans station and basically right across the street from the venue. Rooms were spacious and clean, staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was quite good. Would definitely recommend to anyone spending a night or even a few days in the lovely city of Arnhem.

Stayed on Monday night in January. Hotel is very convenient for the rail station, but driving there for the first time is tricky. Even the GPS system struggled to find the correct route. Having said that there is a small carpark (you pay of course). Check in & out were very friendly & efficient. Room & bathroom were functional - maybe approaching time for a refurbishment ? But everything worked fine (including the free WiFi), and the breakfast was adequate. Overall, it was good value for a stay in the city centre.

Hotel very close to train station and walking distance to all shops and cafe. Can hire bikes from the train station for 7.50€ a day to see sights, especially getting out of the town and seeing local suburbs just beautiful. Airborne museum a must see along with the war graves.Check in good and front reception staff pleasant. Buffett breakfast included in our price and was very good value. Disappointed that the room did not have a small fridge.

This is a purely functional hotel which offers the basic needs of the business traveler. I travel by train in the Netherlands and this hotel is ideally located for the railway station. It offers reasonable value, a good breakfast and friendly service. In my case the room was small reminiscent of a cabin on a ship but well equipped with TV, tea/coffee, a comfortable bed , an iron and a small but good bathroom. However I notice other reviewers mention large rooms so perhaps there are options. Overall an ideal location for a short stay if you are travelling by train.

I stayed in one of the newer rooms on the fourth floor. The room was huge and really nice. The hotel itself is less than 5 minutes away from the train station. Great choice for breakfast. The hotel staff are really friendly. I think 14 Euro's for a brandy and coke and a pint of larger is way too expensive.

Iv stayed here on business a number of times and it's always been a great stay. Over the road from the train station and located in the middle of town so everywhere is easy to walk. Would recommend staying here if you are visiting.

I stayed here on a Sunday night before a business meeting on Monday morning, it was a 5 minute walk across the road from the train station. There is a spar shop and a cinema across the road, the main shopping area is roughly 7 minute walk away. The hotel roam was comfortable nothing amazing but clean, the breakfast was had a number of choices and left cups there to make a takeaway coffee. I would stay here again due to it's central location.

I spent five nights here on a business trip. Excellent stay, clean room friendly staff and breakfast was included. This hotel is an excellent valet. The hotel is close to excellent dining spots. If you don't feel like venturing out of the hotel the restaurant has excellent food too. The hotel is across the street from the train station and is in walking distance of many business locations. I will stay here again.

Arnhem City is a bit off the beaten track, too soon for most tourists to stop after coming off morning ferries. We were held up and arrived at city late afternoon. Hotel an easy find by sat-nav, right in city centre. Station and buses across the road, shopping and quaint old town within 100 metre radius. Temporary parking allowed at front door to unload cases, reception will open the good secure park round the back. Carpark access is a bit round the block due to one way system. Not a big deal... We stayed one night, offered and accepted deluxe upgrade room, which was well appointed and spacious. Shower/bathroom wall slightly unusual with pattern frosted and clear glass, but if you are with established partner, it's not an issue. Reception staff well attired, well spoken and helpful. Eat at indoor restaurant or walk across the road to old town selection of shops and eating places. We think we chose well and will give a positive review of the steakhouse elsewhere on Trip Advisor. Hotel and restaurant prices fair, breakfast choice good and tasty. In summary, excellent hotel with pleasant staff and all the facilities needed, very good stay, definitely return.

I arrived by train late in the evening (after a delayed flight) feeling pretty frazzled. The hotel is right across the road from the train station, so I had no trouble finding it. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. I was too tired to go out for a meal, and was pleasantly surprised to have a very nice meal (and local beer) at the hotel restaurant.

We booked two rooms for a long weekend. We arrived early and the rooms were not ready. We were told to come back after and hour which we did. The rooms were great and the beds very comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay and Renew the receptionist was extremely helpful. We would all happily stay again. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

This hotel has 118 rooms and a single breakfast coffee machine. I spent 15 minutes queueing for a cup of coffee, many, many people waited longer. Each coffee takes about a minute - so if 10 people want breakfast at the same time, that's how long you will stand waiting for your turn to operate their single coffee machine. Absolutely unacceptable. Showers pathetic. The hotel bar seems to close at random times. The rooms were clean and it's convenient for the railway station and also the main town but really, can't imagine recommending it. Sound proofing pretty good. Rooms a bit cold. We started out in one of the expensive rooms but I really didn't like the glass wall between the toilet and the bedroom so ASKED TO BE DOWNGRADED !!!

Short break at Hotel Haarhuis which we enjoyed very much. The hotel is right in the centre of town so close to all the amenities like the transport hub, shops and restaurants. The room was really spacious and comfortable. The bed was huge! Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Loved the Peeze coffee machine!

Just returned home from Arnhem. This hotel has very friendly staff and has a typical Dutch atmosphere of quiet and calm. The hotel is quite modern and the rooms are very clean and smart. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are cleaned daily. The hotel is in an excellent location for transport. It has lots of bars and restaurants in easy walking distance. There is an on site bar and restaurant which I never used but seemed a good standard from what I saw. Breakfast was nice but with one small complaint, the hotplate was not kept replenished and when it ran out it was a while before it was filled again. But on the whole I would recommend this hotel. Thank you.

Nice comfortable place to stay. Middle of the centre of the city and still nu burden of the rumour of the city. Well-equipped rooms, nice prices, friendly staff, good affordable food and a cosy bar. Parking place in the rear and across the street a very big public parking. Train and bus station also across the street.

We love this hotel and have stayed here more than once, it is ideally located opposite the train station and for Central Arnhem. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms this time and it was excellent. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and the breakfast in the morning is superb. We highly recommend this hotel.

If staying for a few days, the superior room is well worth it. As is breakfast. Had a wonderfully quiet room and slept very soundly. Comfortable sitting area in the room and well-appointed bathroom. A place with some character. Welcoming personnel. Wi-Fi sound. Very convenient location for the city and for transport. Housekeeping endearingly haphazard.

Excellent city centre hotel opposite Central Station & next to the historic city centre, perfect location for a short break. Rooms comfortable, good restaurant & bar on site, free wifi, excellent breakfast. Hotel was also quiet despite the location. There is also limited parking available, but there is a multi-storey by the station, €15 per day.

We have stayed here many times over the last 3 years and had different standards of room. We were on a budget this time so had cheaper room - boy can you tell the difference! Wipe - clean vinyl floor that the horrible metal chair noisily scrapes over when you move it. Basic bathroom with hairdryer that was replaced (without my asking) for one that kept cutting out. It seemed that you don't qualify for a properly clean toilet and bathroom in a budget room either. If the wardrobe door is open you cannot open the bathroom door to get out and careful you do not trip on the very dodgy bathroom step especially at night. The double glazing in these apparently refurbished rooms though is brilliant although I still recommend earplugs being next to the road and station. The one thing that has surprisingly deteriorated further (which I didn't think possible) is the breakfast. Slow to top up the buffet we rarely got a full selection at any time of the morning's service. Still no cover over the smoked salmon to stop the flies and the hotel attempt at a hot breakfast display is an inedible eye opener. You cannot escape the fact that it is conveniently located and the superior rooms are nice but the budget room was too much of a drop in standards for us and the breakfast is still budget standard.

We arrived at the hotel late in the afternoon after driving around looking for a spot to stop. The hotel is very prominent, however the configuration of the streets and bus lanes are a bit hard to navigate if unfamiliar with the City. Check in was quick and good and the two staff members were welcoming and friendly. We got up to the room and when we opened the door there was an odour. Not sure what it was, but it smelled like a mixture of cleaning material and "oldness". As I set down the luggage I notice that the little workspace had a corner broken off of it. All in all it gave the feeling of oldness. We went down to have a bite to eat in the restaurant (which is reviewed on another post) and we asked if we could move to another room. We were told that the room we were given was recently renovated and the only rooms not taken were on the third floor, which was currently under renovation "Your room is one of the best in the building" she stated. OK then. The toilet was very nicely done, so maybe that was the extent of the renos. As the evening were on, it became clear that the noise from the Central Station directly across the street and the busy road to the side of our corner room was going to make it a long night. Got that right at least. The term "lipstick on a pig" kind fits with this building. As Diamond BW members, we were not offered anything that goes with Diamond status. Maybe that is just the way things are in the Netherlands. We will not return and cannot give a good recommendation for this hotel.

Had a quick one night stay at this hotel. Nice staff, great location, across from the train station and easy walk to nearby shops. The room was good size, nice bed and very large bathroom and huge TV. Bonus, the windows actual open. A great stay.

Overall the hotel was fine as it was centrally located. Even thought the bed was advertised as a queen bed, only one piece was available. Extra request put during booking was not fulfilled, neither explained. Stay was ok, peaceful and breakfast was acceptable.

Hotel has an outstanding location opposite Arnhem's main bus and train stations and only a 5-10 walk from loads of bars and restaurants. Hotel itself has free WiFi and the rooms were perfectly adequate. Staff were all very friendly. We were driving and couldn't get near the hotel car park but there's a large multi-storey in the station opposite that costs the same.

Hotel is a little tired and the doors to the rooms very much reminded me of prison doors! However, it is in a great location and the restaurant is excellent so most of the snags can be overlooked! Rooms spacious and comfortable, shower hot and clean, I could want for no more!

Located just opposite the Central Railway station in Arnhem, so easy to find. Very close to the centre of town. Friendly front desk staff. Rooms were nice and clean. I had a room facing the back, so it was very quiet. Free Wi-Fi. Good breakfast. I would be happy to come again.

I stayed here for a week whilst on a business trip to Arnhem last year. The hotel is in a fantastic location right next to Arnhem Centraal station, and walking distance from loads of restaurants, bars, shops and the river Rhine. The hotel facilities were good, with a great breakfast, takeaway coffee cups, a decent restaurant/bar, and high-speed WiFi. The bed in my room was perfect - I don't think I've slept that well for a long time!

Wi-Fi, a television, bathroom and a nice comfy bed. The room was well lit and very spacious. Its located in the center and just a few minutes walking distance to the nearby shopping streets. It's easy to access as it's right by the central station and public transport was also close to the facinity.

An excellent experience with clean, comfortable, attractive surroundings. The excellent staff was extremely professional, helpful, engaging, friendly, courteous. The food and drink in the dining room and lounge were superb. For dinner, we had the best salmon I have ever experienced. A great value for this accommodation.

Reception area and staff very welcoming. Superior double room, plenty of space, lovely comfy bed, would prefer sheet and cover rather than duvet. Oh, the glass door and small wall to the bathroom with the toilet in full view was very disconcerting, certainly not for the modest. Bar small and service slow, we gave up. Breakfast excellent, except for the toaster but that seems pretty standard in most hotels. Lots of choice. Staff helpful. We had a bedroom at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet.

Went there end of April two days for Kings birthday celebrations. The room was really on arrival help was given to get to room as I have a temporary disability. Nice coffee and tea in the room shower room stacked with crisp fresh towels. The Bed was a Topper Bed (very comfortable ) so much so we tried to purchase one for the UK. Breakfast is great and in with room price best scrambled egg with bacon sausage and continental breakfast with selected fruit, fresh cakes and bread and great coffee selection.anywhere. Restaurant in the evening was good service not cheap but value for money. We asked for extra time to check out of room 2 hrs were given without charge. The hotel is within walking distance of the town and directly across road from railway station and bus station car park for the hotel is limited but below station is car park and charge the same price as the hotel (14 Euro 24hrs) I can recommend this hotel because it happens to be the one I lived in for 6 months while working in Holland,Enjoy your stay

This hotel is just next to the Arnhem station and the lobby is nice, but I was staying in single room, it is a tiny room with a small 3-feet single bed, the room with bathroom size may be just within 10 m2, so this surprised me and this is my very first time to stay in a real single-bed room. As I was only staying one night and catch an early train to Frankfurt in next morning, therefore its ok to me. But their breakfast is the only thing to make me have a good memory as it was very good with lots of choices.

My wife, 5 month old baby, and I stayed here to meet my parents-in-law. We had the Superior Double room and it was very nice and spacious (Sidenote: this room type has glass walls for the bathroom which is a downside for privacy when you have visitors and for keeping it dark at night to keep the baby asleep). Hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful on several occasions. Room service was quick. Breakfast buffet was top notch and included smoked salmon and a self-operated fresh squeezed orange juice machine. Great location being within sight of the Arnhem station and right at the edge of the pedestrian area.

We have been to this hotel several times. And it was ok all the time. But this time it was not what we expected. There was a lable on the airco with the text: remote in desk. But it wasn't. No remote at all. So we asked at the reception and they would arrange it. It was to warm in the room and sleeping with the window ooennwas not an option because of the noise from outside. When we got back it still wasn't resolved. So back to the reception. The story this time was that the airco could not be controlled by a remote but only centrally...... Why centrally? I want to control my own room temperature. Breakfast was ok. Bread was way to hard. It was a complete mess around the juicer. And the furniture of the breakfast area could have a face lift. By checking out we gave the feedback of the airco. One lady would ask what happened but the one thing the older lady said was: yes it is known..... No sorry.... only it is known. If it is known....work on it. Because of the heat of the room we couldn't sleep. Next time we will sleep in hotel Central at the opposite of this hotel.

Good location opposite central station about two min walk. Ideal if you are travelling from schiphol airport 1 hour 15 min by train. I had a superior room which was very comfortable room with a king size bed, good table for working and good lighting.The bathroom had a large corner bath and wet room section, shower was excellent. Very good wifi throughout the hotel. Breakfast was sufficient. Freshly squeezed orange juice was very good. Evening bar was comfortable and friendly. Staff were helpful.

Always good and never disappoints. I visit Arnhem every couple of months and almost always stay here. Great location 2 minutes from the railway station and close to my office and restaurants. Great breakfast every morning with fresh coffee, fresh orange juice, freshly baked bread hams and cheeses. See you soon...

Stayed here whilst visiting to go to a concert at the Gelredome - hotel was lovely & room was perfect for purpose of stay. Great location with plenty restaurants locally, nearby shops & bus and train station directly opposite. Staff were great in the hotel and spoke great English, breakfast was fantastic & price was extremely good. 100% staying here again if visiting Arnhem anytime again.

A few friends and I recently stayed here, while we were attending a music concert in the Gelredome. The Hotels location is very good, as it is next to the main train station, and a very short walk to the bars, clubs and restaurants of Korenmarkt. The hotel lobby, restaurant and bar are to a high standard and have a very plesent atmosphere. The room we had was one of the older rooms but was a nice large size and included a sofa area. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and let us have a late check out. I would stay here again if I was in the Arnhem area.

The welcome at the reception was great n the service very good! However the rooms were small n not really value for money Location.....perfect So all in all okay for a 1-2 night stay but more will run you into the walls

Hotel Haarhuis ok to stay. The bed is comfortable however the room I stayed In had a strange shower that the water is not powerful and you need to stand there ages to actually get covered all of your body. The hairdryer was broken and I asked if they have one in the reception. The immediate answer was no whereas they could have brought me a hair dryer from one of the empty rooms. Also, the cleaner did the bed but didn't replace a dirty glass which is strange! Secondly, I have asked for a late checkout and they told me that this is not possible. I think the reception staff has changed as I couldn't recognise any of them. So overall, they didn't go further than providing a room but services you expect around the room and the hospitality was not satisfactory.

We have stayed here before but this time was excellent. We had a fantastic room with a quiet view not on the road. The bed was comfortable and the room well designed. It was clean and I would definitely stay again in this type of room. Staff are very friendly, polite and very helpful. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel! Amazing staff, very nice rooms, extremely comfortable beds! Our second stay at this hotel, and would gladly return. Conveniently located across street from train station, walking distance to downtown shopping areas and bars/restaurants.

This review will be a mixed one; there were a couple of negatives (one big one) but a few rays of light as well. I had requested a quiet room when making my reservation four months in advance. When I arrived, I was told I had been upgraded to a bigger, better room; I reiterated that all I care about is quiet, and the nice front desk lady assured me that it was a very quiet room. However, it was not quiet at all: it looked out, with big unsoundproofed windows, directly onto the train station plaza, complete with trams, cars and lots of people of course. Quite a noisy room, in fact. I called the front desk and asked to change rooms, but they said it was not possible. OK, I then ordered room service: a bowl of tomato soup and spaghetti with half a lobster. The food was delivered, I swear, no more than ten minutes later, which was impressive. Not only that but the tomato soup was actually delicious! And the lobster was genuine and very tasty, though the spaghetti was mediocre at best. In any event there were a couple of positive parts to my Hotel Haarhuis experience. On other fronts, the heating was not effective, so the room was both noisy and cold. The wifi was pretty weak, but the water was nice and hot. I don't like the style of shower (open to the bathroom, water everywhere) but that's a matter of taste I guess. Overall, the hotel is extremely convenient to the train station, but is more of a 3-star property than a 4-star, in my view.

We stayed her in September myself and my daughter in one of the recently upgraded rooms, very retro and modern! Lovely fittings in the room although glass bathroom was a bit quirky! Top class staff here, would recommend to all.

I found the staff very friendly. Unfortunately room service finishes at 10pm and i arrived at 10:15 on the night of a Justin Bieber concert so the queues at the surrounding food outlets were jam packed as the concert had just finished. The room was nice. I ate in the restaurant each night. The choices were limited unfortunately but the quality was fine for the price. I enjoyed my stay, apart from seeing a mouse in the restaurant one evening.

It was less than 10 grad outside the room was freezing . I asked for maintnance and the answer was was "there is nothing i can do". I was freezing could not fall asleep. There are mantel hotels in the city i sont recomend this one.

On a business trip, I have spent a night in the Best Western Plus Hotel Haarhuis in Arnhem. The hotel is at a very central location opposite the train station Check-in was fast and efficient. The staff member checking me in was friendly and pleasant. Upon arrival, I showed the hotel employee my Best Western loyalty Card (Platinum, because I spend on average at least 20 nights a year in Best Westerns), but didn't get the welcome package that is usually offered in other hotels of this chain. However, I did receive a room upgrade to a superior room (253), The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a walk in shower and a bathtub. The WIFI was dependable and fast. An in-room safe was there. The room looked like it had recently been renovated. The only downside was that it was a room at the front (sideways) side on the hotel facing a busy roundabout. Noise from the traffic on the street did enter my room and I am a light sleeper. And there were some traffic works in front of the hotel and they started working at 6:30 AM making further sleep impossible. The upside to this was that I entered the breakfast room early and experienced a fine breakfast with a lot of choice in items. The breakfast was included in my room rate. Check-out was quick as well and the usual "How was your stay?" question was asked. When I told the employee that my stay was fine apart from the traffic noise, she told me she would make a note. Personally I do not think that the Arnhem council will be impressed by this and change the traffic situation or tell their workers to start later than 6:30 AM with their roadworks. The hotel has a nice, but quite expensive bar for a late night drink after a busy day. They also have a restaurant that looked interesting, but I didn't have the time to check this out. Basically, this is a good hotel to spend the night in. For a business traveler who has to get up early anyway, the noise is not a big issue. But if you are a tourist and want to sleep after 6:30 in the morning, be sure to ask for a room in the back of the hotel.

We booked this through a special deal that included train tickets as well. The hotel can be seen as soon as you exit the train station, perfect. We arrived 1hr before the check in time and thought perhaps the room would be ready, it wasn't so we had to go and wander for an hour. The shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel (literally across the road and the first restaurants can be found) so we chose a nearby restaurant for some lunch before checking in. The room was absolutely fine, more than adequate. Modern. Bathroom was nice. No airco in the room but we used the fan that we found in the wardrobe. After a bit of shopping, drinks and dinner in the centre of Arnhem we went back to the room to relax for an hour or so before going back out. We woke up 4hrs later, but too tired to get up and even go down to the bar. Slept for 14hrs total in the end, the bed was so comfortable! What a great nights sleep. Breakfast was lovely, more than enough choice. The following day we walked to the John Frost bridge - about 15 mins walk away. Great location for a hotel if you're looking for something central (without actually being right in the centre) and close to public transport and things to do/sights to see.

Hotel itself is average, all fine , clean and courteous staff. Hotel a bit tired, could do with a lick of paint, but decent value for money. Breakfast included ( usual fare, all ok ), but no parking, had to park in a multi storey up the road. Booked family room, and was given a wildlife themed room . This consisted of murals painted on walls, logs for chairs, bamboo light shades etc. All a bit odd, but a bit of fun, just 4th bed was just a small camp bed shoe horned in next to wardrobe. But no real complaints, all clean, bathroom fine etc. Given 4 stars purely on location. Turn left out of hotel and u are literally 2 minutes walk to town centre, which was great. Lots of bars, restaurants etc and very lively, but far enough so not noisy at hotel. Arnhem itself was lovely, especially if interested in WW2. Visited bridge, and attached small museum, which was only 10 mins walk away.

Stayed in this hotel for one night (20-21 July 2016). I was allotted the top most floor, and unfortunately this was the peak of summer weather. The room was boiling hot, AC was there but was'nt so helpful. Quality of Room & furniture was'nt very good. Staff was friendly. Make sure you get a powerful air conditioning in your room, specially if you visit during summer time. This hotel is situated almost in the city center, so you will find plenty of interesting places, it is just opposite to the Arnhem Station, so you can find communication/transport hub with in reach. Bar room was better, and breakfast was good.

Having never been to arnhem before, i chose this hotel as it was close to the train station so would be very convenient for me arriving at night time. Great location, close to everything. Bars and restaurants all very close by. I also loved the fact they do single rooms. Lovely comfortable bed, very clean, great bathroom. The breakfast deserves a mention too as it was awesome. Loved the fact they start breakfast early too which meant as I was leaving for my early flight I was still able to grab a spot of breakfast before I left. I would definitely go back. Only 2 negative things. First of all I was lying on my bed mid afternoon watching tv and 2 guys came into my room. They saw I was in and hastily left. They looked like maintainence staff so I thought not much of it. Secondly, on checkout, I was presented with a bill that included a 40euro bar tab. Had I not been travelling on a tight budget and known exactly what the price was I may not have questioned it. Lucky I did. Surprisingly though, the chap was quite indignent, asking me 3 times if I was sure I hadnt charged the bar tab, even when we had established the name on the tab was totally different to mine.

Hotel in the city center, opposite to the Railway station, nice and clean room, Issue with the air conditioned, Problem attended by their staff immediately. All the restaurant on the walking distance. Hotel serves very nice breakfast.

Very good stay during the Nijmegen 4day walk. We came to see the aria and then go by train to see the final day of the walk. Our room was a little unusual in that it was a part of a museum exhibition (I believe), but with all mod cons.

No recognizion as an BestWestern Diamond member. No upgrade offered. Booked a single room. This seemed to be a small room in the old part of the hotel. Hallway looks like a prison hallway with celldoors. Not attractive at all. Bed was due to renovation. Terrible soft matrass. Pillows absolutely too soft. Bathroom in need of renovation. AC in the room is a plus. Unattentive staff at breakfast. Normal selection of food. Breakfast room lacks atmosphere. 3* rate would be better. While in Arnhem I prefer to stay in Holiday Inn Express. Best Western hotels are independently owned and managed. So constant quality is not to be expected.

Staff was courteous, rooms were clean, bathroom simple but fine, breakfast buffet good (even fresh juice available), all this for a very sharp price. I cannot complain at all about this hotel. Near the city center and opposite the station, huge underground parking available for 15 EUR / day, very reasonable, especially for the Netherlands. Would definitely recommend.

This is a well-run large business-oriented hotel, right opposite the new railway station. The staff we encountered were efficient and helpful. They upgraded us to a superior room, which was very nicely appointed, with a wet-room. Secure bicycle storage is available in the hotel's basement.

Though opposite the station, silent electric trains posed no problems. The old city centre is just across the road with loads of restaurants even though the hotel itself has a highly TA rated one itself. The refurbed hotel is comfortable but even now could do with an extra coat of paint (Or does this reflect the degree of 'hammer' that recent guests have given it?) good choice of beer in the bar but only a few car parking spaces to the rear at €15 per night is a bit expensive, friendly staff and an all round comfortable stay

Fantastic hotel, staff are very helpful, polite and professional. Rooms very spacious and clean. Bar and restaurant compliment the hotel very well. Location is ideal with transport links within easy walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to return in the future.

Hotel is in the center, there is limited number of parking space or next is parking in the railway station. Rooms are average, not the cleanest or the best, it is good for one night stay. Staff is good and helpfull. There is also bar in the hotel.

A long stay here and needs to say it's not a 4* hotel. First of all, staff doesn't care customer. First day I've asked for internet connection in reception, and they've contemptuously answered an information panel needs to be beside my bed or I can just register in website. Not something with all the staff, but most of them are not friendly or customer focused, and you feel they are disgussing cause answering your questions or even saying hello when you pass in front of the desk. An appropiated training is mandatory when you are face to face in services area. Second, in a complete week, they have not opened the window to ventilate or changed bed clothes. I know is a really not important point, but it's the first time that I found my pyjama not folded. Clean in room is not so unkept... Third surprising point is they offer a laundry service, but they don't pick up in room, you need to leave laundry bag in reception desk! Poor rooms mantenance and light, no minibar in room, small wardrobe, unconfortable shower (including curtain) and parking not so confortable if you drive a long car and not places control (you can find no place to parking even if you have noticed you will need for complete stay) will "finish up" your stay. At least, breakfast is according to Best Westner standards...

We stayed two nights in a themed room - fun decor. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from train station. There is a small grocery store located across the street, for most needs. It is a short walk to the city center. Breakfast was very nice with many choices (buffet style). Staff was friendly. The only down side was only one elevator was working. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Entering the Best Western in Arnhem and you are all of a sudden back in the 80-90's. The interior need a serious update, both in the lobby and rooms. The rooms are clean and as such okay, but none of the thing you would expect from a 4 star hotel in 2016 are present. Tiny TV, no minibar, no master swift for the light, no air-condition. But you get a okay big bed, that is fairly soft. You can easily hear what is going on in the other rooms and hallway. Location is convenient for the railway station and city Center, but would expect that there are more modern alternatives in the area.

This hotel is located across the street from the train station which is very convenient if you arrive on the train. However, if you drive and have more than a small piece of luggage, it is much more difficult. We had to pay €15 to park in their small lot and then had to be escorted by a hotel employee up to our 3rd floor room in the freight elevator since there is no elevator for guests entering from the parking lot. Even after you reach the third floor from the regular elevator, you have to go up 8 steps to get to Room 325 where we stayed. The room was very spacious, but it smelled when we entered the room. However, we soon got used to it, so that wasn't a problem. The breakfast was wonderful with a great variety of choices, and the hotel is within walking distance to the John Frost Bridge and the Airborne Memorial made famous in the movie, "A Bridge Too Far". The staff, especially Chiel, was wonderful!

Great location: across the street from the train station and easy to get to from the highways into town. Across the street from the old city center which is full of restaurants and bars. Hotel parking lot. Rooms are nice and large as is the bathroom, but the lighting is very poor. Price is reasonable. Breakfast buffet is good.

This hotel offers great value and convenience for a fair price. it is right across from the newly renovated train station so travel to other parts of the Netherlands and Europe is a snap. It is also in the heart of "town", so access to restaurants and shops is super convenient and easy. i always stay here when I come to Arnhem and feel at home. Breakfast is good and I think it is a definite plus to have that included. Staff is nice and helpful so no issues.

Stayed only one night for business but the hotel is a converted older building, which gives it alot more character than the usual business hotel. Unfortunately my room was probably the smallest I've ever stayed in but it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Breakfast was good, staff did their job. Would stay again.

Very good hotel - close to perfect. My room was one of the nicest I've seen in this price class. The location is excellent close to city center and railway. Breakfast was okay but not highest class. Restaurant seems nice and there is also a separate bar/pub.

Located near the train station this hotel is located close to the town centre which is only a few minutes walk away. Staff are friendly, bar is good (draught beers, good wine list an extensive spirit selection) and the restaurant serves good food at reasonable prices. Have stayed several times throughout the year and the delivery is consistent. Some rooms have interesting decor... my last one had an African waterhole theme with zebra and giraffes, surprisingly nice to wake up to!

Stayed one night only. Lots of plus points- right in the centre of town, easy parking opposite in the station, lovely staff and an extremely good breakfast- including the scrambled eggs!. Loads of choice, including a side of smoked salmon, fresh squeezed orange juice and very good coffee. Our room wasn't that big, but for one night all that was needed, with a very comfortable bed. Best of all was the price- only 70 Euros- what a bargain.

Cheap and cheerful. The bar is a nice little place. Rooms are a little tired but perfectly comfortable. Be prepared to play Musical Cars getting out of the car park if you drive there and give yourself an extra ten minutes for staff to move all the cars around.

We have stayed in this hotel a number of times over the last seven years. From the basic room to a comfort room this year. The rooms in the extension are well decorated and the beds very comfortable. We parked across the road in the station car park which is very safe and journeyed on by train, returning to the hotel later in the week. We have dined in the hotel restaurant which was a lovely meal. All in all a good all round hotel offering a variety of priced rooms

Spent two nights at the Haarhuis last week, visiting Arnhem with friends, and really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is handily located, just opposite the station and right next door to the town centre. My room (a superior one, I think) was a good size, well equipped and nicely furnished, with an extremely comfortable bed. The large bathroom was clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped, with a corner bath, an excellent shower and a double wash basin. Staff at the reception desk and in the bar were friendly and helpful. We dined in the hotel on one evening and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Breakfast, which was included in the room package, offered the usual cold meats/cheese and hot eggs/bacon buffet options. Quality of the hot fare was rather disappointing, with badly overcooked scrambled eggs (they're supposed to be a lovely creamy texture!) and largely undercooked bacon. Overall, though, the hotel was an extremely comfortable place to spend a couple of days, and I thought represented excellent value for money.

The hotel is located in the central part of town. Everything is really accessible by walking, bus or train. For the room, I've never seen a basic single room look so hip. An electric kettle is in the room along with instant coffee and tea. The price is reasonable. Everyone is friendly. Stay here!

Again we went to Arnhem and again we stayed ad hotel Haarhuis. We parked the car underneath the central station (parking 15 euro/ one night). The hotel is situated at the opposite of the train station (Which is almost finished after ca. 20 years of building!! But it is a great building!!) We were welcomed by a very friendly lady. We had a room in the new departement. I love this part of the hotel. The rooms are big and the bathroom is excellent. A bath and a rainshower!! We slept well. The breakfast is terrific! We will get back to Arnhem and yes we will stay here again. This is the best hotel in Arnhem to stay and visit the centre. Thank you hotel Haarhuis. And congratulations with the new central station. Finaly for you it is (almost) done!!

I have stayed here on a number of occasions and this hotel is really good for only one thing ; location ( & breakfast ). The dinner served in the restaurant was very ( below ) average and what made matters worse was the very slow service .

If you are looking for a base to explore the local area from then this is ideal. It's a nice hotel in a superb location and good all round facilities. The bar was a little expensive but overall a very decent place to stay - especially for exploring Arnhem from.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay recently at the HAARHUIS.Althought there was some heavy roadworks going on outside I can say this made no differance inside .We were upgraded to a superior room which was very comfortable .We ate inn the restaurant and we the food was good value there is also a very comfortable bar.All in all very good and we would certainly go back

I spent one night in Arnhem on a business trip and was recommended to stay at Hotel Haarhuis. I arrived by train from Amsterdam and was catching an early train back the next morning. The hotel is right across the street from the train station and therefore very centrally located. Check in was easy and my room was on the first level looking out the back. The room was really large and had a huge bathroom that was in a sectioned off area of the room. The bed was very comfortable, room clean and modern. The next morning I had breakfast in the hotel before catching an early train. Breakfast contained all that you would need, but there was not many choices. Very happy with my stay.

After upgrading to a superior room I was disappointed to be put on Cell Block H on the 3rd Floor. Banging doors - chipped and dated furniture, mysterious dirty marks on the wall - yes great big flat screen TV but no mirror except behind the door and furthest away from the window and then cornered by a big bulky wardrobe. On the plus side we did have a pet spider all week which let itself down every evening to say hello. It is in the best place near the station and close to the town and entrance hall is lovely. Staff are top class and I have no fault of them at all, helpful and charming.

Great location to stay. Reception very helpful. Rooms a bit dated and beds not very comfortable. Restaurant and bars good with friendly staff. Breakfast a bit hurried, fair selection but having settings on table would be good. Arnhem is a great place to stay.

We as a group of friends stayed here and found this hotel excellent, It is ideally placed for the city centre and the reception staff are superb. The rooms are very good Breakfast is very varied and should cover all tastes, We had dinner in the restaurant and as a group of 12 all had very good meals well presented and served.
