This hotel is located just across the square from the train station but is also within two blocks of the old town. My room had a great view of the castle, had all amenities and was very clean. It appears the hotel was recently remodeled so all is new and in good condition. The only negative is the breakfast was very expensive so instead I visited one of the many nearby coffee shops for a croissant and coffee.
Hotel is in the center of the city and located in the best city area and it's safe . I asked the receptionist man today regarding the breakfast and he helped right away with the matter and I was able to get the warm breakfast as I hoped. Thank you very much
Loved our 3 night stay here. The hotel is lovely and the reception staff are so accommodating and friendly. When we requested a couple of things they were happy to help and did it without acting like it was too much trouble or a big ask that they were doing us a favour providing. This is how a hotel should be run. Fabulous!
Nice small hotell near the railway station in Annecy Not fare from the old town or the city center.Small room but you have what you need for just one night. A lot of nice Restaurants and shops nearby and not far away fromthe lake with a lot of boats to hire .
I was attacked physically by hotel staff who also tried to steal my cell phone and then said they would call the police because I filled them attacking me. It was so crazy. After 3,000 nights in hotel rooms, nothing so bizarre by staff who chased me out of the hotel after I paid the bill.
We were very pleased with the hotel. Nice rooms, quiet, comfortable beds, newly renovated. The hotel was very well situated, in walking distance to the train station and near central Annecy. The staff were very kind and accommodating. I would definitely go back there again.
The hotel is situated in a quiet, decent and convenient location. Rooms are recently renovated and clean. Paid private carpark is available and convenient, but requires good driving skill :) The list of restaurants provided with information on the service hours around New Year period (when we stayed) is extremely useful and a worthy reference.
There is no doubt that this hotel has a great location: a few meters from the train/bus station and only a few blocks from Old Annecy. The location is hard to beat! This is a 4-star category, but it is rather hard to see why: the room was okay but nothing extraordinary, the breakfast was okay but the bacon was too oily and nothing extraordinary, the service was okay but again, nothing extraordinary and we did not receive any special attention that would justify a 4-star rating. In fact, we received better on all these at 3-star hotels. Overall, while the location is great, this hotel is overrated and too expensive for what it is.
Hotel managment and front desk staff are excellent and most helpful. We needed some help to reserve a room with a specfic requirement, and managment was absolutley wonderful in helping us find a terrific solution. Front desk staff are multi-lingual, professional and very helpful. Cleaning staff does an excellent job keeping the public spaces and our room extra clean. The hotel is well-maintained throughut. The Carlton is in a very convenient location, close the to train and bus stations, close to restaurants and the Old Town. We will definetly return to the Carlton.
All in all the hotel is nice. The room was not very big, but that's fine since I was traveling alone, and it was clean. The staff at the reception was really kind and helpful and the breakfast was good, with some variety even though it could enlarged a little bit.
This hotel is in a really good location. We had a comfort room plus and while they aren't the biggest rooms, the room was lovely, clean and bedding was fantastic. The room was so quiet considering it's in the heart of the city and staff were so helpful and knowledgeable about the area with good recommendations.
The rooms are clean, stylish and comfortable. The shower is a little small, but the concierge had great restaurant suggestions and it was nice to be close to the tourist areas without being right in it.
Clean. Good cold breakfast choice, but the hot scrambled eggs were "lumpy" . Shower and bathroom very good. The bedroom was small with limited storage, but comfortable. The location is good, near the train station, town and a short walk to restaurants and the lake. The staff were very polite. Small items in the room were not always replaced(paper cup, water). The lift was very tiny- 4 persons or 1 person with 2 cases. The bar was adequately stocked, but leaving one person to run it and reception at the same time caused waits for service.
Great location excellent overall good service but when one single person ( Karine ) at the reception ( accueil ) ruins it all with her arrogance and extremely agressive manners .. then it becomes a terrible experience . Too bad for the hotel employing people with bad attitudes . Thank you Gwen and Estelle all the others for the great service but honestly it couldn't compensate for Karine's inhospitable attitude . I have a few thoughts of my own which I will share later .
We spent 3 nights here after a disastrous night at another local (but highly rated) hotel. Jose welcomed us with efficiency and grace. We chose the Executive King Room and were very pleased. Clean and spacious with a large bathroom. Jose and Carine helped out with suggestions to local restaurants and other things to do in Annecy. Definitely recommend this hotel.
Jose at the front desk made our experience top rate- he was welcoming and wonderful to talk to. Hotel was excellent, beautiful and the breakfast was one for champions ! Hotel is also about 5 mins from amazing Centre of town and lake.
Great welcome. Impeccable cleanliness. Very complete breakfast. Magnificent rooms. Very well located in the center of the city and 5 minutes walk from the train station. I highly recommend this hotel which is an institution in Annecy. It has been around for generations.
Perfection! A beautiful building, great location, comfortable and very clean rooms but most importantly the staff; so professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Jose, thank you so much, for your patience making our reservation, for selecting a perfect balcony and room for us and our dog. You gave us good recommendations for restaurants and friendly conversation! We will be back. The express breakfast was very good, the bar in the lobby was elegant.
Hotel was very well located between the station and the Old Town and the staff were always and pleasant helpful. It would have been useful if we could have had our room earlier than 15h00 in the afternoon
Property is very well maintained. Clean room and hotel in general. Convenient to City Center and Old Town, shops, restaurants, etc. Staff very professional and helpful. We enjoyed staying here and will definitely return.
I booked a room from 24th to #8th with the option to pay at property, but with 3 weeks before the check in date , the hotel charged my credit card. I cancelled my reservation after a discussion witth them. It has been a week (the term they gave me for the refund) and still my money are blocked.. So of you don't want your credit card charged , my advice would be to avoid this hotel.
Comfortable and clean room with small balcony. Organised flowers and wine on arrival with my husband for my birthday. Lovely, friendly staff. Very modern reception and bar area, excellently clean. Only 8 mins walk to lake Annecy, very central for coffee shops, bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
Hotel is located smack in the center of town. Dimitri and the entire reception staff was amazing as usual. They even offered helpful dining tips. Parking was reserved and secure. Room was always very clean and well maintained, which prompted me to leave a handsome trip for the Housekeeping staff. Thank you!
This hotel is perfectly located to visit the old town and new town alike. It is very close to the train station. It was very clean and had friendly staff. Our Queen Comfort room was really quite small, but well equipped. It was fine for two days but not for a long stay. The breakfast was good, but there was only one waitress who had to look after the customers, clear and set tables and to restock the buffet, so the experience was not as good as it should have been, which is a shame because it could have been really good. Their parking was good, but with very, very tight access. Once the car was inside the parking we were allocated a lock up garage, which was extremely secure. All in all a good hotel . . . but not inexpensive . .
Friendly and fast check in. Great hotel location. Standard rooms are a bit small so we booked the executive with a queen bed. Great help from the girls at the reception for hotel recommendations as well. We used the private parking which is below the hotel. If you have a big car it is very narrow and about 2 meters is the maximum height.
Reception staff spoke English, all were very helpful, welcoming and professional. Room was clean, updated, comfortable - everything in working order. Daily cleaning was perfect.Convenient location. We will most definitely stay here in the future.
Our family booked this hotel for an overnight stay and were delighted. Despite the small size of the rooms, they are very nicely furnished and comfortable. The reception staff were super helpful and friendly. But be careful if you book their parking garage with a big car. The entrance is very narrow and plenty of people crashed or touched the wall. Once inside it is fine and the size is normal, only the drive in is terrifying. Also be aware that this is a pet friendly hotel. My sons had a neighbor who had a dog. Which of course barked and managed to escape to the balcony of our sons. The owner had to knock on their door and asked to retrieve their dog. Not ideal. When booking just request a room where there is no dog owner placed next to it. We will retuern to this hotel.
Great central location. Convenient to all shopping and the train station. 10 minute walk to about everywhere. Staff was super helpful. Very patient and well versed in Anglais. Nice balconies overlooking Stalingrad square. Near many pharmacies.
My wife and I stayed in an executive twin room with a balcony. The room was spacious and the beds were exceptionally comfortable and we slept well. Very good breakfast. I used the hotel parking. The reception staff were very accommodating and helpful.
Right by the old town with parking available. It was perfect for us. We paid a little more for an executive room which was great but still very good value. Annecy is a beautiful town and this hotel is a great place to explore it.
We enjoyed our stay in Annecy, the staff was very pleasant and professional, we liked to chat with them during the day but also with the night staff, the housekeeping was impeccable and the breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice, the location of this hotel is excellent for a leisurely stroll in Annecy, there is also a very convenient parking
I've stayed in this hotel a few times in the past for business. Pleasantly surprised to find it's had a complete refurbishment since my last visit with a new fresh modern feel. As an older hotel the rooms are fairly compact but adequate. The car park in the square where the hotel is situated is a very tight fit for anything but the smallest of cars. Covid precautions well in evidence, masks mandatory, one way system at the breakfast buffet and each person provided with their own serving utensils rather than multiple people picking up the same pair of tongs etc. Decent choice of breakfast items. The bed was comfortable, the shower was fine and the aircon worked well. Service was efficient. I will stay here again.
We came just for one night and stayed in one of the executive rooms. All very clean and neat with all amenities you need. All service personnel was very friendly and helpful. The biggest top is the location: only a few meters away from the old city center. Is this a helpful review? Then please give me a "Thumbs up Thank FrankGeisler" by clicking the button below.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. The hotel is beautifully maintained by the friendly house-keeping team. The breakfast was excellent, although I think the buffet could benefit from having a second coffee machine. The breakfast staff were very good and had a lovely attitude. They also kept the buffet well supplied. The reception team were also very good. In particular the receptionist Demetrius (apologies if I have his name wrong) was fantastic. He was kind, knowledgeable, helpful, hard-working and highly professional. Very comfortable beds and great position in the town near to the station. We will stay there again when in Annecy. Lots of the rooms have a balcony and if you can, get one on the 6th floor from which there is a lovely view.
The best aspect of this hotel is the location. Everything worth seeing is within easy walking distance. The lake and the historical old town were just minutes away. Do yourself a favor and download Google Maps for France on your phone because it's easy to meander and get lost and Google Maps was a savior to find our way around. Now...the bad aspect of this hotel is that everything is tiny. Tiny elevator and tiny rooms. And the walls are thin. The other problem is parking. There is public underground parking under and next to the hotel, but oddly there is no direct access to the hotel. You walk up stairs too the street then walk to the entrance. When you have heavy luggage that's a bit of an issue (I don't think they've heard of handicap access in Annecy), and the parking spaces are extremely small. A tiny Fiat can barely park.
I stayed here for business in October 2019. The hotel was very clean with great amenities: The rooms were tastefully decorated with comfortable bedding, nescafe coffee machines, hot water kettles, USB and Euro power charging, quick WIFI, and private balcony. The staff: very friendly (my French is only so-so, but they perked up when I tried speaking to them in French). Not to worry, they also speak English very well. The hotel also included awesome breakfast (I believe extra charge), which included smoked meats (including salmon), local cheeses, local breads, cereals, eggs, coffees, fruits, and yogurts. In the lobby is also a quaint little bar (coffee, beer, wine, spirits). Quick note: the elevator is very small (maybe 2 people can fit with luggage). Not a problem, I like hiking, so the stairs were welcomed after my 16+ hours flight.
Excellent location...5 minutes walk from the lake & Old town..Walking distance from key attractions, shops & restaurants. Well appointed, comfortable rooms with adequate amenities. Lovely breakfast. Helpful staff at the front desk. Will hopefully return back. Ammar
This hotel is up to date and has a great location. The room was large and comfortable with an extra couch that came out to a bed if needed. The checking in and out was fast and easy. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. There are a few parking spaces that you can reserve ahead. Must be a small car.
We stayed at this hotel just for 1 night , it is quite a good choice especially for the location, close to the city centre ( 5 min walk ) .. we were a bit worried for the parking because it was august and the one of the hotel was full, but we found free places on the street, it is on payment only during the day. the hotel is nice and clean (best west. standard) but the room was really small, so if you like space, be careful which room you choose.
Annecy is a small village in france. it is a beautiful place to visit. Best western hotel is very convieniently located, hotel is next to the bus station railway station and Old town .Shopping is good in july as there are lot of bargains available due sales. best place to eat local cuisine is Le Freti Taverne D Annecy
From the time we walked in until we left, the staff were brilliant. When it came to filling in the registration form, sadly I did not have my glasses with me, the young lady on the desk was so helpful and we got it filled in no time. Wonderful surprise when we walked in our room, we had mood lighting around the bed and in the bathroom. Great location for visiting the town etc, everything in walking distance. The breakfast is very expensive but there is a wonderful choice of foods. There lock up garage is not on site, but nice to know it is available. I would definitely go back.
My boyfriend and I travelled here from Paris and are so glad that we did. Annecy is absolutely beautiful - such a gorgeous city to visit. We drove from Paris, and I had asked in advance if the hotel could reserve us a car park space. My partner parked right outside the hotel where there is a “2 minute baggage drop” space and I ran inside to ask about a space. I was given a key to a garage which was situated just around the corner, opposite Hertz. The garage was small but was the best parking option as the streets were busy and charged 50c every 15 minutes. I didn't look at other parking options but I did see a couple of car parks. We were given the key to keep throughout our stay, so could access our car whenever. The hotel charged 15 euro per night for our car to be parked there. We booked one of the executive queen rooms. It was spotlessly clean, very bright and modern. We had a small terrace with a view over the city and mountains - gorgeous. The shower could have been better, it was quite small and was a little awkward as we are both quite tall. No other complaints about the room though. The bed was so comfy. Annecy itself is stunning and the hotel is just a short walk away from everything. 10 minutes to the lake and the same into the Old Town where there are so many bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours to choose from. On our second day, we drove to Chamonix and went on the mountain chair lift - amazing experience and only an hours drive away. For drinks, we went to the Munich bar a couple of times. Cheap and a great atmosphere. Would definitely stop here again.
If I could, this would have been 0. I stayed in this hotel, paid by the company I visited. I came back late one night and my key card did not work. The lady at reception who was very nice, could not access my room as the machine on the door was faulty and did not have the physical key that opens the door. The hotel was full so I had to sleep on a sofa in the bar. On sofa in the bar - really? I expressed my displeasure in the morning and was told it was my fault for putting the card in the wrong way - really? They must be inundated by this problem. When I checked out, I had a £30 bar bill which I felt they might like to ignore for that night. Apparently not, they had refunded the company who, by the way were mortified, and did not appreciate it when I pointed out it was not the company who slept on the sofa. They refused to refund the money. Poor show Best Western - give the receptionist the key - no problem. Sort your key card machine - no problem. £30 bar bill wiped - not happy but no problem. I will do whatever I can NEVER to use a Best Western again. The worst customer service EVER.
This the good hotel just 2 mints walking distance from the bus and train station. Bed comfy, plenty of space for clothes. 10mints distance to Lake and all other attractions. Overall a very good experience, would stay here again.
This is small, simple hotel, nothing luxurious, but does the work perfectly. Rooms are nice, clean & functional. Bed is super comfy, towels are big, new and fresh. stuff is very nice, speaks good english, service is welcoming and helpful. would definitely stay there again.
Where to start... What an absolutely stunning hotel! First time visitor to Annecy, and to be honest other than a very rushed day trip from Jersey, my first real trip to France. So, to my usual style of review - I hope nothing is lost in translation. The exterior: The hotel itself is set in Annecy, on a delightful square. Really easy to find, but not so easy to park at. Fortunately, through broken French (I really did try, and not the typical shout louder English style of trying) I managed to get a request to the hotel receptionist whilst driving around the square, to provision a parking space for us. Incredibly helpful, and friendly I must say. I managed to get the key to the garage (which was fun to open in a right hand drive car!) and get parked up. Be warned, there are very limited spaces and you will be asked about the size of your vehicle as the spaces are differently sized. Got parked up without issue, in a private underground garage. It's a short walk from here to the hotel but the pavement is smooth enough and doesn't trouble the cases. On to: Check In: As mentioned before, my terrible French managed to get me a parking space, but it also managed to get me checked in too! The receptionist was truly lovely, and was really patient with me trying to get my mouth round the correct words and phrases. I've experienced other places where staff either talk back to you in English because you're annoying them, or just end up trying to finish your sentences for you - this didn't happen here, and I feel more enlightened for it. I learned a lot about myself, and about the people of Annecy in general on this little trip. All of it good. The check in process was simple enough, made more complex by the fact I had booked this through Best Western's rewards scheme. A great idea, but needs refinement, however this wasn't a fault of the hotel and as such, no negativity about it on this review. Once check in was complete, we boarded the tiny elevator up to our floor and to: The Room: Very small, but perfectly functional. The size of the room did not take anything away from the visit, as it was mainly for a base and somewhere to lay our heads. It was very new and comfortable. The bathroom was fantastic! A lovely overhead shower and plenty of space to wash and dry oneself. Fantastic room. As this was a European hotel there's no milk in the rooms, but there is a corner shop just a quick trot around the corner so it was easy enough to pick up some additional teabags and some *lait* :) I am almost positive the hotel would've provided this without question had I asked, however I did want to get around and have a look at the shops for other things too, so killed two birds with one stone. Consumed only breakfast at the hotel as there isn't a restaurant here. Not a problem due to its proximity to the local restaurants and believe me, there are plenty to choose from. The one I eventually settled on will be in its own review. The breakfast choice was fantastic here though, and plenty of it. Buffet style breakfast, well worth the additional charge. We did sample the bar in the hotel and it was very well stocked. The staff again were excellent. Sadly this brings me to leaving: Check out: Experience was fantastic, very efficient, and we were even allowed to keep the garage key to allow us to get our stuff into the car with no rush or urgency, as long as we promised to bring it back. There was a deposit on there, so no fear of me running off with it! The only issue we had with the entire stay was the fact we were overcharged for the hotel room - it should've been paid for with rewards points - and was - however more was taken from my card than should've been. HOWEVER I must state that the hotel resolved this IMMEDIATELY and completely to my satisfaction. It was a simple mistake and easy enough to make - the same thing happened when staying at a Best Western in Scotland as well, so again I know this is a global thing rather than a fault of the hotel. All in all, I would LOVE to return to this hotel, and to Annecy in general. I had the most wonderful time here. Cannot thank the staff enough for their helpful, friendly nature (and good humour!).
Friendly staff, clean, Good housekeeping & daily service for tea & coffee. good location , walking distance to old city and the lake. Surrounded by cafes, shops and restaurants. Monoprix (supermarket) is just near. Reasonable price.
We only had one night in Annecy so chose this as it was a short walk to the lake and historic centre - modern and recently renovated - had a walk-in shower - and took pets! It did not disappoint and ticked all the above boxes so, we were happy. The only negative comments would be that the room itself was a little on the smaller side than expected and, as with many other guests it seems, the parking was a hassle! It does have parking but very limited and quite tight for a larger car! Definitely book parking ahead of time! Also, if you prefer a quiet room, ask not to be on one of the lower, park side rooms!
Needed just one night in Annecy. This hotel is not easy to access by car with a pocket size drop off area. Make sure you prebook a car park or make do with the nearby public car park. Good plumbing for a French hotel - the American influence maybe. Nice room but management had turned off the aircon which would be fine in a normal October, but not for 2018 heat. We had to open the windows for air and endure the party noise across the road until late and the usual rubbish bin throwing in the early morning. Ok breakfast but cramped with a full house.
My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights as part of a driving tour of France. We were very pleased with this hotel and the fact that it is within short walking distance of all the attractions in the beautiful town of Annecy. The hotel is modern and clean and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was not overly large but very well designed with fantastic lighting system which made it very comfortable and not at all claustrophobic. Also had a modern updated Bathroom and shower. There is a small lounge area in the main lobby. The only concern we had was the parking. The hotel does have underground parking but the number of spots are limited and it is recommended that you reserve ahead of time to be assured of a spot. We were fortunate to get a spot however be warned that the access to the parking and the spots themselves are very tight for the modern car. Parking is $15 per night. The buffet breakfast were 16 euros and we didn't partake so we cannot comment. Overall we would recommend this hotel as a great spot to stay when visiting Annecy.
The hotel is located in the hearth of Annecy, 5 minutes from the historical center and the great lake. The building has a classical architecture, despite of it, the inner has a modern style (one can notice the place was renovated few time ago); the bar is nice and has a complete selection of wine and liquors; the dinner room is comfortable and elegant: the breakfast buffet was remarkable, with a colection of matured-fresh cheeses and hams, besides the traditional stuff. The room was simply great: spacious and illuminated, loved the soft bed and pillows, it has comfortable furniture and a balcony with an amazing view (top of the castle and mountains); the bathroom was clean and equipped with good quality products, the shower has a nice inner violet light. The customer service was good and helpful! My girlfriend and I stayed 3 nights and we had a great time! Oh, and a good rate for a four star hotel. Certainly, we will repeat the experience: the city is amazing and the local people is warm!
The hotel is located 3 minutes walk far from the railway station. However, the proximity of the station does ot make any noise or disturbances. Clean and modern air-conditioned rooms. Nice and very helpful staff. The hotel is quite close to the old city, major city sightseeing and restaurants. It takes 20 minutes walk to the beach or you can take a bus (the bus stop is right in front of the hotel) and it will take 10 minutes drive. The rooms are very clean with everyday room service. The breakfast is not included into the room rate and charged additionally 16 € per person. The breakfast is basic but very high quality.
This hotel was perfect for our stay: fully renovated, clean, modern and in the perfect location. It was close to all main attractions, as well as the train station and great food. Although the room is small (especially for 3 people), we made it work and had a great experience. The staff is friendly. Enjoy beautiful Annecy!
Nornally we stay in other types of hotels, but considering that we were only in Annecy to visit friends and stayed all day and evening with them, this was literally an overnighter from midnight to late morning next day. Saying that; the rooms were very clean although very small. The beds were comfortable and hotel was in a great location. In terms of value for money it was very good and staff was great, efficient, polite and helpful. Will definately come back here for a quick stay if we don't need to spend much time in hotel.
We stayed here for our five nights in beautiful Annecy. Firstly the location is excellent as it's 30 seconds from the station and this suited us as we arrived by TGV from Paris. The staff were freindly ( as an aside to our surprise we found all the French people we encountered delightful and it seems the French have lost there I freindly reputation which is great to see ) The hotel is to a good standard but the rooms were quite small but they were well appointed and decorated. We had a small balcony with views over the mountains and old town. The hotel is just 10minuted from the old town and it's also very close to the Annecy shopping centre. The hotel does have a lift but it's tiny and takes ages. This hotel suited our needs and was perfectly adequate if lacking a little something
Just oh the edge of the old town (5 minute) walk, so easy access to restaurants and bars - there is a bar on the hotel exclusive to guests. No evening meals but breakfast (which is not cheap 16euro) or served in ground floor dining area. Very clean and tidy and recently refurbished by look of rooms... All nicely modern.
I stay in Annecy a few times a year and often get an apartment but when i cannot manage to do that, I usually choose this hotel. It is in a great location - a short walk from the train station and main bus terminus. Its also a relatively short walk from the beautiful streets and cafes of the old town and not far to the lake which is also beautiful. The rooms are okay, small but clean and have all that you need. I have not had any meals or drinks there, mainly because there are plenty places to get something nearby. If you are in Annecy you would only want your hotel to be the place to sleep and shower, you would want to be out and about and so this is ideal.
I've been to Best Western Carlton in Annecy a number of times and it never fails. A walking distance from the old town, it's undergone refurbishment over the years - it boasts neutral and modern decor inside to cater for all tastes. Most importantly though is the friendliness of the staff. They've always gone the extra mile to help us out. Thank you Gaetan, Yannick and Mbouba! I will be coming back
We booked a normal room, and they called us to tell us we would have to upgrade to a suite because our baby wasn't allowed. Our baby weighs 11 pounds and sleep in the bed with us. Seems like a scheme to make people upgrade. We booked at a competitor who had no problem with the baby.
We cane to spend one night in Annecy and looked for a hotel to spend the night. The hotel is situated in a great location and quite comfortable and good value for money. As in all hotels we thought that the check out time at 12:00. At this hotel the check out is on 11:30 . No body told us this information. On the morning at 11:45 we got a call from the receptionist her, name is Boba, telling us that the check out was supposed to be at 11:30. I said that I am sorry that we did not know that and we asked to give us some time in order to finish packing and we will go down as soon as we are packed. This receptionist kept calling us every few minutes screaming and shouting on us in an extremely rude and impolite way. We went down to check out around 12:10 and she still shouted and screamed on us as if we committed a crime. She said that I will charge you for the delay and I said you can charge if you have to but at least speak to people politely. Until we left the hotel she continued talking in a very rude way without even hesitating whether she should speak as normal people talk. She ruined the whole experience and made us so upset. I will never come back to this hotel and will recommend to you not to get close to it. For the management of the hotel I will recommend to choose the correct staff.
We stayed here three nights and had a very pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were comfortable albeit a bit small. Still, it was a good stay and very centrally located. Hint: If you plan on parking a car there make sure you reserve a spot ahead of time.
A terrible experience with awful receptionists and no help with luggage or small children. Typical of the bureaucratic 'couldn't give a damn' attitude of corporate hotels staffed by robots. We went to the Splendide afterwards and the premium was well worth it.
We spent 3 nights in Annecy at this hotel. When we arrived the staff were very helpful and Natasha who we dealt with was excellent, sorting everything out that we wanted. However when we were trying to sort out a taxi collection from Geneva airport beforehand, someone gave me the number and told me to ring the taxi co direct, which I thought was a bit unhelpful. I did ring them and found that it was a bit difficult for them to understand me. I then went back to the hotel and one of the reception told me to just pick a taxi up at the airport. "IT WILL BE CHEAPER". On arrival we did just this and asked the driver how much and could we pay in Euros as we didn't have Swiss francs, he said 150-200 After he altered his sat nav a couple of times and we decided that the meter was getting high, we eventually arrived at the hotel. He then asked us for Euros 250 after we had also paid the toll money, we said we are paying in euros , he said one for one, so definitely didn't like his exchange rate. We knew we were being had over , but as the meter said this we didn't think could argue, he looked surprised that he hadn't got a tip. I made this known to the hotel that someone on their reception had given me this information, I know it wasn't there fault that we were caught, but had they been more accommodating on the phone then it wouldn't have happened. On our return journey from the taxi company that the hotel had booked for us it was Euros 110, so we were well and truly had . So always insist the hotel pre books your taxi. Hotel is very clean and fairly central for the lovely old town. In our room 208, it has got the weirdest bath that has a slope in it. I understand that it is a Jacuzzi style but when you just want to shower in it , it is extremely dangerous when the soap is on the bottom. You can't get in or out without the hand rails and you felt you were juggling not to get a broken pelvis while in there. The breakfast has plenty of choice, but has to be paid for separately on top of the bill. Nothing is cheap in Annecy, go with plenty of money
Great location. 10 minutes or less, delightful walk through several streets past lovely shops and restaurants, to old river walk area. Lake is just across street from end old river walk. We loved our room. It was the yellow one on 3rd floor. Everything was quality, from the excellent decor to the tea service and the toiletries in bathroom. They were renovating the bar area during our visit, and it still didn't dampen our stay. Completed bar and added sitting area looks great from pictures. Did not eat in dining room for breakfast . Great pastries in little bakery, coffee, tea shop in beginning of river walk. Can not remember name, but it is a chain, in England as well. Annecy visit and Hotel, will remain one of our favorites. Traveling the world for 52 years.
We were family of 5 with children, the hotel is missing all the services of being a 4 star hotel , no porter , no concierge service and helpless in satisfying tourist needs , they staff have no clue about Annecy at all , we have wested our time and money being in Annecy.
Lets start with the positive aspects: Next to a big parking 5 minutes walk to the old part of town Next to the train station Modern and well furnished nice bathroom, espresso machine And now for a very unfortunate discovery...having lately read a long article about how hotel employees try to avoid changing sheet I felt like checking the beds... I proceeded to drop my luggage and opened the bed... and there they were, hair from the previous client's body! Disgusting! I immediately called an employee who was vacuuming the hallway to show her ... she nodded and changed the bed at once! As our room had been paid by our friend as a gift I did not want to make a scene with the management .... People be aware.... this is not unique where accommodations are concerned!!
We are a family with three little children (6 month, 2 years and 4 years old). Normally we take a triple room with three standard beds plus a baby crib for our 2 years old daughter. The baby sleeps with us so actually it is nothing special for a hotel. But not this time. As we arrived on 17th of July 2017 at Best Western Carlton Annecy and wanted to check in into prepaid executive triple room for which I gave a full list of guests together with the booking the hotel manager refused to check us in. Instead of giving us a booked triple he forced us to take one more room, a standard double at discount rate of 80€! Extra costs for extra room which we actually don't needed. The conversation on itself took two hours. It was literally "I'm the manager, I'm the boss and these are my rules. You pay for the second room, you take both and afterwards you can do whatever you want, also to stay all together at the triple room you have originally booked. Or you go to seek for another hotel." Yeah. At 8:30 p.m. with three little kids at the touristic city where all rooms are already booked. Thanks for the suggestion. The manager was constantly referring to some mystic policy that 5 persons are not aloud in a triple room but the hotel staff refused to show us this policy "because we don't have it. No, we can not print it out, it is not here." Note that the current hotel policy includes changes made just after our stay. Time spent in order to check in: from 13:30 till 20:30. To the property: rooms are big enough, but stuffy air. Air conditioning too loud. If you turn it out you can hear other guests snore. Only one bath towel for both rooms. Trash from a previous guest in a bin. Fulfilled feedback form from the previous guest on a table but no feedback forms for us. Apparently they knew what we may write. Elevator at the hotel extreme narrow. One squeezed person and a buggy is a maximal load. But actually you are not aloud to take buggy at your room what we ignored (and the staff don't even say a word as they have seen it). Skies are also banned. Staff: polite except the hotel manager. I can not call a person who don't give you to say a word and then later just hang up a telephone in the middle of conversation, who forces you to buy services you don't need any other way as rude. Other staff pretty much like robots. Knew nothing, can do nothing but still polite. The receptionist was also surprised by such decision of the manager, she would have give us just a booked triple. Bad check in timing! Parking: very dark, extremely narrow. Our reserved place was already occupied by another BW hotel guest and its two blocks away, so we were asked to return and to repark instead of having lunch with three hungry and tired kids. Thanks to the other hotel guests, they suggested us a couple of nice locations where to have lunch after 14 o'clock. One hint if you are unlucky to stay at Best Western Carlton Annecy: there is a supermarket that is still open after 10 p.m. Just around a corner. But don't ask hotel staff, they don't knew it! "Annecy is a small town, everything is already closed."
Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night but we really enjoyed this hotel. It is located right outside the train station (so I can't comment of parking) and right at the city center. The room was very clean and had Nespresso machine, which was great. Yes, the room was small, but we got a real bargain so no complaints, plus we only use it to freshen up and sleep (bed was very comfortable). The staff was helpful and friendly. I'm not big fan of hotels (especially big chains) but I enjoyed our stay here!
Better than what you would expect from a chain. Lobby has been refurbished. It's welcoming, modern and cheerful. Parking is available. Room was well equipped, even an espresso machine which was out of order during our stay. Best feature is its location near but not in the midst of old town.
If you are looking for a nice mid-range hotel near the main Annecy train station the Best Western Carlton fits that requirement perfectly because it's an easy walk from Gare d'Annecy. Once you exit the front of the station go slightly left and locate Rue des Glieres, walk two blocks, and you're at the Carlton's entrance. From the hotel it's only a short walk to the old town/canal area with several restaurants and shops, and about a 15 minute walk to the tourist information office and the nearby lake. For those familiar with the Best Western lodging group, especially in North America, this property is branded as Best Western Plus. The Carlton is in a lively neighborhood with cafes, shops, a small park, and a convenience store nearby. Though the building appears to be old, the interior has been refurbished and is thoroughly modern with updated public areas, a sleek, stylish lounge/bar near reception, and a pleasant breakfast room. Breakfast (extra charge) consisted of a fairly decent – not elaborate – buffet. Strangely, when we asked about cooked-to-order eggs we were told there would be an additional charge on top of the breakfast charge. Maybe management should rethink that policy, or simply not offer cooked-to-order items. The front desk/reception staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, and we found the entire property was bright and clean. We were in an executive double room which is billed as one of the larger rooms, but, alas, it was small and cramped. In fact it was the smallest room of six we stayed in on our recent western European trip. Be aware you may end up in a tiny closet-size room if you book anything less than an executive room. On the plus side, it was very clean and contemporary and came with a Nespresso machine, an in-room safe, good WiFi, along with a fairly good size bathroom. Though the public areas were comfortably cool during our late June visit, we were there during a warm spell and the cooling system in our room struggled continuously, just managing to keep the room comfortable.
Good location very close to the old town, the lake and the bus and train station. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and all spoke good English. The room although small was clean and had good facilities.
Arranged a two night stay at the Carlton, Annecy. Hotel was beautifully decorated and a warm welcome when we arrived. Naturally free wifi is always a benefit. Rooms are large and spacious, very comfy bed, and a bath that's beautifully long and deep. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel as this seemed rather pricey at €16 each. A small cafe around the corner proved us right in this choice. Mini bar in the room was fairly priced, and a free complimentary bottle of water was found in there...nicely chilled. In summary, great place to stay, ideal location just across the square from the bus and train station, with the lake and old town a few minutes walk. But rather pricey for room only.
Perfect location for a trip to Annecy! Hotel was clean and very nice with minibar, air conditioning (a must!), serving breakfast and drinks. Underground car park, which is a little tight if you have a big car, but worth it. Very friendly staff and has a lift too!
Stayed 2 nts in May 2017 on business. Hotel is new and completely renovated. Friendly efficient staff. 2min walk to bus and train station. 10 min walk to lake, 5 min to old town. Plenty of cafes/restaurants nearby, but the area is quiet at night. Breakfast is a continental buffet with very good selection but a little expensive at €16 additional charge. Would recommend for couples and Business trips, not sure if there are family rooms.
I would like to stat by thanking the staff for making this such a lovely stay. The Hotel had just completed renovations to the bar in the lobby, we left the day it opened. It might have been nice to have had this completed but in all honesty we may not have used it. There are so many bars and restaurants in walking distance not to have to worry. Having said that we had perfect weather so walking outside was not an issue, had it been raining or snowing the bar would have been used. I would request or pay for a a room with a balcony, rooms are only small and this gives you a bit of extra space as well as a good place to enjoy a glass of wine The hotel has undergone a refurbishment and the rooms as i said are small but are very clean and our bathroom was as big as we have found so far in Europe Great location to wonder the sites of Annecy, locals are very friendly a walk or bike ride around the lake is a lot of fun a great place to spend a few days doing not very much thanks to Eleanor and the rest of the staff, very nicely done Ben C Sydney Australia
Hotel is located near to the old town. Rooms are nice equipped and big enough. Car parking is very safe at the side of the hotel (15€) but entrance narrow. Wifi very fast and stable. Water pressure good. Hotel is new restored and furnished in very nice colours. Breakfast we have not tried. Directly enface the hotel you will find a little super market. Bed comfortable.
I stayed in this hotel for a long weekend and was very pleasantly surprised. Clearly newly refurbished, the rooms were lovely and tastefully decorated and very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast included within the price was also more than adequate. Would definitely stay here again.
This is a perfectly acceptable hotel in a good location in the lovely town of Annercy. The hotel is very near to the train station, and just a short walk into the old town, the lake and the other tourist attractions you may want to visit. We paid extra for an executive room which, although recently refurbished, was smaller than you would expect for an upgraded room - I can't imagine what size the ordinary rooms are. Nice toiletteries, they were nice enough to supply a toothbrush as I had forgotten mine and they will bring you an iron and ironing board if you ask for one. Good coffee and tea making. The wardrobe has a strange hanging arrangement and is only good for trousers or short skirts - the hanging length is no longer than that. The reception area is still being finished. The beds were very comfortable. We didn't eat their breakfast - we usually only have croissants and coffee and I would recommend walking into the old town, just a couple of minutes, and have breakfast at 'Paul' where you can sit in the sunshine and have a lovely breakfast for a few euros. I had a run in with reception as we returned back to the hotel at 10.30 pm one evening only to find the reception door closed and the bell not working. We had to telephone the hotel to get someone to let us in - there is supposed to be 24 hour reception - the gentleman on duty didn't apologise and had the cheek to say that it was 24 hours as he came as soon as I telephoned!! Anyway we complained the next morning and they did refund us the cost of our room for that night - but it wasn't a great ending to my birthday evening. I can't see how this is a four star hotel but honestly we didn't see any better in Annercy and we did think the room rates that we got were reasonably (we did not book directly). If we go again I think we would stay in one of the very nice apartments that seem to be available in town.
Location is excellent. Two minutes walk from the old town. Service is efficient and friendly. Only downsides were the lack of a/c during the unseasonably hot weather (20C in April) and the occasional noise and disruption caused by ongoing renovation works (understandable as they are looking to upgrade their product). Rooms are nice and clean. Not very large but they have all one needs.
The only good words I can write about this hotel is a very central location and public garage for a fair daily rate. It's still under construction but mainly effecting lobby area. Rooms are ridiculously small, have no idea what they get 4 stars for, maybe in room coffee machine.
This hotel looks nothing like in the pictures. The lobby area is basically under construction so the entrance is through a back door with low ceilings and terrible decoration. I think it's great that they are remodeling, but they should be honest about it and tell you upfront when you are doing the booking. I would've rather stay in any other hotel in Annecy if a would've known about this.
Stayed two nights. Currently rebuilding the entrance. Very comfortable room, quiet and comfortable bed. Free Internet access. Kettle for tea and coffee. Minibar. Use the large underground car park since hotel carpark is very narrow. 5 minutes walk into downtown. Decent breakfast. My second stay I would stay again.
This is a nice hotel with a very short walking distance from the train station. We didn´t know that there are two Best Western´s in Annecy, so we actually went to the wrong one first. Hotel Carlton looks nicer than the other hotel. Every member of the staff was very friendly. Our room was a bit small, but the bathroom was really nice and big.
Very nice hotel with service-minded staff. The hotel is situated close to railway station and the old town. We were here on a Sunday when the shops were closed but instead we could enjoy the nice market in the old town. If you arrive by car the hotel can offer a private garage even if you have to pay extra. The breakfast for 16 EUR was not value for money.
I passed through Annecy over the weekend while in the area for business. The Best Western was well located and was right on the edge of the old city and a 10 minute walk from the lakeside. The rooms were small but were well kept and a good value for the price. The breakfast was 16 Euros, and I think it was worth it with a good spread. The Wifi was excellent, and my room also had a nice espresso machine. Note that you can park with the hotel but may want to park in the public garage right next door, as it was convenient and a bit cheaper.
Lovely few days away, breakfast was lovely, staff were lovely, bed and room was comfortable and spacious, tea and coffee facilities were great and car parking had plenty of spaces. The hotel is a perfect location for Soul Suite and tower with just a short walk otherwise a tram stop is right outside the hotel. I have stayed in many Blackpool hotels this ids definitely my favourite.
This is basically a small hotel (55 rooms), located very close to the railway station as well as the bus station (Gare Routiere Annecy), just two blocks away. For those arriving to Geneva airport with final destination Annecy, there is a cheap and regular bus service that in about 1 hour and a half arrives to Annecy bus station. Breakfast is excellent as well as room service, employees at the front desk know very well how to make guests feel comfortable, very warm and cordial. Close to the old town, the lake and the castle of Annecy.
We paid extra to get an executive room. It was on the sixth floor. Avoid high floors if you have mobility issues (like my broken foot and torn ligaments!) as there is only one very small lift that takes 2 medium adults or max of 4 very tiny adults squashed in, and the lift is very difficult to get at busy times, particularly as the cleaners hold it on their floors for quite a while to get all the laundry in and out. The executive room was nicely decorated, well furnished, but quite a bit smaller than expected. There was a balcony of Tarmac and a couple of chairs. The bathroom was very good, large, nice toiletries, well lit.
Only a couple of blocks from the train station and the heart of the action. Very quiet with helpful staff. The shower is a little weird with a Jacuzzi tub as part of the bath....careful of the slip and slide :)
The hotel is close to the railway station, only a short walk. It is also close to the old town, another short walk. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was varied to appeal to all tastes and well presented. The room we had was overlooking the park and was quiet. The bed was comfortable, so a good nights sleep was had.
As in many other small cities, old town is the place to stay at. Carlton hotel is perfectly located, just one block away from the heart of Annecy or, better said, just in the surroundings.. Located infront of a park with an underground parking, it´s perfect if traveling by car as parking on streets is quite expensive. Besides, if requested, the hotel has a few parking spaces of its own - for a fee - just a block away. Hotel itself is comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and rooms are of good size. Only "but" is it´s very slow anf tiny elevator. Beds are modern and comfortable, tv has good cable system, windows are big and sound proof and bathroom, although not very big is not a problem. Just infront the hotel you have a supermarket ( just in case you want to buy some sodas or whatever), a pharmacy and restaurants nearby ( a block away) are very good either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Tip: There is a French Burger restaurant with great burgers just around the pahrmacy´s corner. All the enjoyable activities and sites are just minutes away and it is a lovely walk to the lake as streets are full of stores of all kind: boutiques, antiquarian shops, art galleries, boulangeries, local products stores, etc etc. The hotel street is very quiet despite the park . Definetively. a good choice to stay at.
Nice recommendations of restaurants from the reception Room is clean and bathroom new Breakfast all you need opportunity to park your car in a concealed box but be sure not to be drunk because very narrow entrance ??
This was our visit visit to Annecy. After reading hotel reviews, we determined this was the best hotel for us. We have stayed at Best Western hotels in the past and knew we would have a good experience, and we did. The staff were friendly and helpful. They had great suggestions for restaurants and gave us a map of the city's sights. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is close to everything, including the train station. We loved Annecy and our stay at the Best Western Hotel Carlton. It was a perfect getaway.
We booked a comfort room and had made a request for a high floor with view and balcony. Best Western gave us a beautiful, newly renovated room on the 7th floor facing the train station. Perfect!! If you are travelling by train, you just walk out the front of the train station and you are facing the hotel( except it is obscured by trees). It isn't far to the old part of town and lake. I would definitely recommend this hotel if travelling to Annecy. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. My only gripe is that the bed is too firm, like nearly every hotel that we have used on our trip.
Well located within a short walk of most of the attractions of central Annecy. Nothing remarkable or noteworthy - adequate for its purpose. Breakfast appeared expensive but there are many good places for a reasonable price in charming locations nearby.
This was our 3rd visit to this hotel but it has been renovated so is worth an update. We had problems getting in here several months in advance and this is because they have coach parties who stay for single nights. It is expensive, without the facilities that some other hotels have at a lower price, Two minor issues were the tiny lift-odd it wasnt upgraded with the rest of the hotel and the Wifi which never worked despite the best and repeated efforts of the patient Gaetan at Reception. However, we were upgraded to an executive room which was fabulous. Everything was excellent, including plenty of sockets for plugs. The room, breakfast and bar were all high quality, As well as Gaetan, the other man on evening duty who wore glasses, but no name badge should also be commended for his friendly attitude and entertaining conversation. Oh and we too had the wrap around balcony. I was glad we came again to the Carlton.
This hotel was a delight to stay in and we would come here again without hesitation. It is conveniently placed close to the rail station and also an easy walk to all of Annecy's many attractions. Our room was wonderful - being very spacious and with a wrap around verandah, it felt more like a suite than a hotel room. We even had tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge - rare treats. Breakfasts were generally lovely (we just had one day when something obviously went wrong in the kitchen!) and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Ideally located close to everything interesting in the city. two blocks from the railway station and very close to the old city as well. I had a room with a very nice view and veranda. The room was small but useful and pleasent. Outstanding bathroom. Helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is the perfect option to explore Annecy
Great hotel just off the tourist trail We had a wonderful three days in this conveniently located hotel (just two minutes from the train station and four minutes from the old town). Our superior room, 306, was a spacious corner room with city views, with modern decor, and was very quiet. The large bathroom (shower/bath) had Tierry Mulger toiletries and wonderfully soft large towels. Highly recommend.
The hotel is easy to find with signs from the main routes. Head towards the station and its situated by the beautiful square with a fountain. The parking is on street or below the square in underground parking area. Welcoming reception by staff who are well informed about the area and ready to help. There is a bar and area to sit and chat. The breakfast is served in a room behind reception and they have a large choice of fresh products catering for all tastes. My room was on the seventh floor with the attached picture showing the view. It had a small balcony for two to sit and admire the view. The mini bar looked well stocked and tea and Krupp coffee machine available for those who like to make their own drinks. The room was modern and very clean but not the largest, however the room was well laid out functionally and Annecy is such a beautiful place that you shouldn't spend time in the room but viewing the wonderful architecture and sampling the food and drink of haut savoir. Highly recommend.
Very nice hotel - exceptionally clean, well located and excellent value. Room was small with a small closet but we were hardly ever in the room. Bed was great and the room quiet. Air conditioning was not the greatest unfortunately but opening the balcony door helped. Parking garage about s block away in underground lot for 15 euro fee was convenient. If we ever make it back to Annecy we would stay here again!
The location is excellent for seeing the old city. The friendly desk clerk with excellent English made check-in easy. We had a "queen conference room" without breakfast and the room had been nicely refurbished. The room looked at the park and Gare and was just big enough for the comfortable US king-sized bed, two chairs and a desk. We heard the upstairs neighbors walking and the nextdoor neighbors talking. Otherwise, the room was quite pleasant. WIFI worked after I entered the web address given to me by the hotel clerk. PARKING in the hotel's garage: There two floors of parking spaces and locked stalls are numbered the same on each floor, so be sure you go to the correct floor or your garage key won't work. Also, our rental VW Golf was almost as wide as the parking ramp could allow.
If you are driving a car, this hotel has its own garage where to park it, provided you reserve it before. The hotel itself is conveniently located near the train station and is a very short walk away to the old centre, The free wif-fi works well but the breakfast is very basic. The A/C in the room is not one of the best but all in all I liked this hotel.
We picked this for good reviews, value for money and location. 6 friends in 3 twins. Very good sleep quality - no noise to speak of while we were there for 3 nights. Modern, clean and comfortable room with kettle, tv etc. Nice helpful staff. A couple of minutes walk to shops and restaurants and the train station - perfect location. We didn't have breakfast here - 7 euros express and 16 full. Plenty of places nearby for a good breakfast and great restaurants nearby. Other reviews mention the small lift but this really wasn't an issue for us whatsoever. We had no car so can't comment on parking- used Geneva Transfers - 210 euros for return private transfer from Geneva airport for up to 8 people - they were excellent. Our only disappointment was that we tend to select hotels with free wifi - this hotel does have free wifi but unfortunately it wasn't working for the whole 3 days we were there - not good as it is a factor in our hotel choice and I spent an extra unexpected £20 on data roaming due to the wifi not being available during our stay. A minor thing to note is that the hairdryers in the bathroom are not powerful. If you have long hair it may take a while. Overall great choice and value for money in a great location and a very good choice for us. Just a shame their wifi was down for our whole stay.
We had a stopover here for one night in an executive room. The staff are pleasant the rooms well appointed and practical but not luxurious. There is no restaurant except for breakfast, which is excellent. A good location, close to the railway but also close enough to the old town and lake for a walk. Not many places to eat in the immediate vicinity. Great for a short stay or stopover if you are travelling by Train. The one major problem was the noise level in our room, not from the street but from other guests above, below, and in corridors. Of course by late night this dies down, but if you are bothered by noise be aware sound carries between the interior spaces in this hotel.
PROS: -Location - this hotel is a quick walk to the Old Town and many of the beautiful sites in Annecy -Concierge/Front desk attendants were exceptionally pleasant, helpful, and patient (we had a sick child with us, and they helped us get a doctor, a taxi, and a prescription) -Rooms are completely redone: clean, light, airy, nice bathrooms -Plenty of outlets -Comfortable beds -Excellent breakfast buffet (fresh, well-stocked) -many nearby restaurants, a park, and convenience store (within a block) -free, working wi-fi!! CONS: -small elevator, and only one (with luggage, only 1 person will fit at a time) -rooms are tight, but that's Europe -could use a few more lights in rooms
Hotel is very well situated, next to a large underground public parking (prices not included in hotel), the railway station and the old town. Price is ok. Rooms are clean but very small. 1 elevator that can hold maximum 4persons to go to level 7.... Breakfast buffet has a large choice but do not take tre scrambled eggs, looks like they put flour inside.
Tidy older hotel with renovated clean rooms which is not far from Geneva (40 km) and not too expensive during the auto show in Geneva. Breakfast is peeeerfecttt! It is good to know that if you go to Geneva motor show, you must pass passport control because you are in France!
newly refurbished rooms, courtesy trays, very nicely decorated and comfortable beds, quiet area. easy walking distance to the lake, bars and restaurants. parking was no problem. good value for money, limited choice at the hotel bar did not sample the food on offer.
I stayed here on New Years Eve and I really enjoyed my evening. The hotel is located near the train station and the Old Town which is really practical. The staff were helpful, the beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious (although quite expensive). The only slight downfalls if I had to be picky: the rooms are quite small and both the shower and the hairdryer in my room were not very powerful at all.
Impressive for a "best western" and seems they took over a smaller well kept property. Great location, nice size rooms, nicely furnished, good bathrooms, clean, good views quiet, good service and prices are outstanding for quality of hotel. Great stay.
It is in the great location and Just front of the train station. my room is on the top floor with good view of the church on the top of the hill. The breakfast is very good. I will definitely stay there when I visit Annecy again.
I have been to this hotel twice when in Annecy on business. It is very comfortable. The rooms are small but more than adequate, the bathrooms are fine and spotless, and the location is just a couple blocks from the charming old city. Breakfasts are okay--nothing special. I wish they would have somewhat higher quality croissants. After all, this is France!
This hotel is definitely great. Besides having great customer service, the rooms are VERY clean and trendy. The location was perfect! We walked with our bags from the train and were also able to walk around the city easily. I was so impressed during my stay. We had an issue with our converter and they happily fixed it. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Excellent hotel situated in heart of Annecy. 15 minutes slow stroll to lake and city centre. Room 707 had a fantastic view over the city. Hotel bar prices very reasonable. Book carparking is advisable
I have booked two room for two nights at Best Western Hotel and it was very good. The rooms are small, it is good for couples. The staffs are very helpful and polite. The breakfast is best. The location is not far from train station. It is a walking distance. It is also a walking distance from the old Anncey and canals, in the way to most beautiful lake of Anncey.
We stayed five nights in this excellent hotel. The location is very convenient for town centre, lake, canals and railway station. We travelled by rail and had only a very short walk from the station. We had a good sized room, with a small balcony, overlooking the square in front of the building. The room had a large comfortable bed and was decorated in a modern style. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided (rare in French hotels in my experience). The bathroom was of good size and was very clean with modern facilities, including a roomy walk-in shower. Breakfasts were buffet style and provided a good selection of hot and cold food. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Only downside was the rather small lift. We had no real problem during our stay but I expect some may experience long waits. We hope to return.
Stayed here for 3 nights would stay again. We asked for a high floor so we would have a good view this was lovely and spent time sitting on the balcony watching the sun go down over the mountains. The reception staff spoke very good English and could not do enough to help. My only slight complaint is that there is only one very small lift in a 7 floor hotel this is quite often used by the house keeping. As I am fit and healthy I was happy to walk down 7 flights but for some this may have been a struggle so if you have limited mobility ask for a low floor it is easier to call the lift from lower floors. I never had trouble going up though. The room had good quality air conditioning with easy controls. I did have to ask for the coffee to be topped up though as the maid didn't do this automatically. Overall I would return as the hotel is clean, friendly and great location. Short walk from the coach and train station, also very close to both the main shopping and old town.
My stay last only for one night but this accomodation was very enjoyable. Main positive points: good breakfast, confortable room (every detail has designed for customer needs), very kindly personnel. A parking area is available very close to the hotel. Annecy is a town to be visited and this hotel could be the best choice for you.
Good hotel for short stay Ok this hotel has a good location closed to train station and old city walking distance Rooms are clean poor amenities in bathroom But dont miss the jaccuzi after a long day outside . Wi fi poor it stopped for whole night and next morning. Beds are very comfortable Staff are helpful but lack of knowledge about the city sometimes Generally, enjoy the city and come back to hotel by the end of the day and sleep well
Was there for 3 nights, very good hotel and staff are so friendly and helpful. Mediun size and clean rooms fitted with nispresso machine and boiler and minibar. Location is near the train station And the old annecy. Very weak ac but it was ok ..
The hotel is situated fairly close to the station so that if you are arriving by train and are new to Annecy, it is a very easy and convenient hotel to find. It is modern, clean and the rooms and bathrooms are of a good size. Breakfast is very good. We were there when it was unusually hot and the air conditioning could hardly cope. The fifth floor have rooms with a balcony which came in very handy during the hot weather. A short stroll and you are in the old part of the town. A good choice especially for a first stay in Annecy.
Had a lovely stay here in a Superior Room, had stayed before in a Classic Room which was very nice but room smaller. Love visiting Annecy town and will return again some time soon. Well worth a visit.
Very well-kept hotel - Excellent central location - well suited for business travelers both for business in Annecy itself or other surrounding areas. A stone's throw from the rail station and main roadways access points.
Rooms were very clean but small, staff very helpful. Parking just outside in underground parking area. But on a Sunday if you find a place outside Hotel, parking is free, making stay much cheaper ! Town has a market on Sunday mornings, lovely to walk around and join in with the locals. Beautiful town with lots to see and do.
My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel. Location is very good just a couple of minutes walk from the old town. Also very close to the train station. We had a room facing the road / park but no issue with noice what so ever as the windows were very well isolated. Air conditioning worked very well. We had a superior room (18 sam) in which they had just managed to squeeze in a queen size bed, a desk and a chair. Small bathroom with tub. Apparently the rooms differ a fair bit in size. If you need parking then call the hotel and book in advance. Limited access and costs €14 per night (in separate underground garage a couple of blocks away - worked just fine). Helpful and friendly staff. Very small elevator (would probably not hold a wheel chair or large baby carriage). All in all a normal hotel but with somewhat hard beds.
Central location, tydiness ok & very friendly personal. Rooms are a little bit small but nicely decorated. A lot of restaurants 5-10mn walking from the hotel. Railstation also very close to the hotel.
Very comfortable hotel in an excellent position Friendly and well trained staff and good maintenance of rooms. It is well worth taking a superior room if staying for more than one night thought a standard rooms are also well appointed and comfortable.
