Best Western Plus Parkway Hotel, Alton

This was a terrible experience. The place is just plain run down. The front desk staff rep was awesome because he really tried to accommodate.But everything else was just terrible. I have stayed at other best westerns before that was amazing but this location and there service was not a pleasant one for sure won't stay here again

Great hotel for a family reunion with a wedding thrown in! Accommodations were very nice. Staff were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place! Will be back again. Thanks for a fun weekend.

This place is disgusting. We were in two filthy rooms before we got a third that was also filthy but less so. There wasn't a hotel in a 20 mile radius that wasn't booked, or we would have been out of there. On the second night, our toilet started running so loudly I couldn't sleep. I went to the front desk, and she said it would have to wait. When I pressed her, she came down to look at it. She ended up accidentally fixing it, so that was a small win. I will never stay at another Best Western for the rest of my life!

Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. On hot breakfast on our first morning there. We will probably not stay at this hotel again. It needs a lot of updates. The bathroom needed a lot of updating too, toilet was almost sitting on the ground.

The entire staff always goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is excellent. I always enjoy my stay here at the location in Alton Illinois. The location is very safe and the location is close to shopping

The staff was rude in the way that they did not care about my concerns of no housekeeping for 3 days, the smell of urine in the room and the fact that they overcharged me and would not refund my money. I had to call corporate to get my overcharges back. The entrances to hotel floors were filthy as was the room carpet. My socks were black from the carpets.

On the day of your scheduled cleaning, you did have a "do not disturb" sign hanging from your door, and as a result your room did not get serviced. I apologize if you precevied my staff as being rude; I will discuss it further with them to insure that it doesn't happen again. We booked this place due to its good location and listed amenities. The breakfast selection is severely limited, for example no oatmeal or other hot cereal. If you want to take a cup of coffee to your room, the lids don't fit and can easily fall off. The cups are thin and burn your hands and there's none of those sleeves for them. The shower constantly changes temperature on its own when you're in it! It gets both hotter and colder than where you set it, so you have to set it colder to avoid scalding yourself, We left to sightsee the morning after we arrived and left the sign on the door requesting room cleaning. We returned to an untouched room, and when we called the front desk they said due to COVID and staffing problems they only cleaned EVERY OTHER DAY! They said there was a sign at the checkin to this effect that I did not see nor did their personnel alert me. I took a pic of the desk area the next morning that is attached; see if you can find it. So how do you suppose leaving a room dirty helps fight COVID?

No staff wearing masks at all, despite statewide mask mandate!! We checked in earlier this month and found two employees at front desk. Neither were wearing masks. We asked them about the Illinois statewide mask mandate that had been in effect for over a week. They looked at each other, laughed, and said that it is just up to the business if they want to implement masks, and they said Best Western is not requiring masks! This is sooo bogus! It's STATEWIDE!! Plus none of the staff, no housekeepers, no kitchen staff for the breakfast, no one wore masks! No signs at front door, so no guests wore wearing masks except for the visiting nurses staying there. Our room was just past the housekeeping office and there were always housekeepers standing in the hall, chatting away, laughing, gossiping, no professionalism whatsoever. In mornings around 7:00 (we stayed two nights) housekeepers were loudly talking and laughing despite the early hour. Complimentary breakfast was never open on time. Employees were smoking right outside the front door. Frankly, room was decently clean and comfortable, but felt every single employee was unprofessional. We even passed the front desk clerk once and he had his feet up on the desk and just waved as we walked by, not even attempting to be professional and put his feet down. There were always multiple employees chatting away in hallways and at front desk. We felt the staff was never professional. Would not recommend this place.

The facility lacked management. Young people running the facility with zero leadership. The age was not the problem, but lack of experience and lack of concern for how a business should be run. Front Desk receptionist in tank top, footies and Nike flip flops does not show concern. Groups of workers smoking in front of building. Hanging out in groups all the time. Not professional ran facility.

I have stayed at this particular hotel in the past....it is very well situated near numerous avaried choice restaurants....it is dog friendly which is a plus and also situated right next to walking trail that is perfect for dog owners and has a very serene calm landscape....the hotel itself has a very friendly staff who are quick to flash easy friendly smiles ....the staff seem to get along as co-workers which I took as a positive sign....I really felt comfortable and right at home in the hotel

This BW in Alton is our go to hotel when in the area visiting family. The internet was impressively fast for a hotel, the room and common areas were very clean, breakfast was great, and the hotel staff were all friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back!

We are rarely disappointed with the Best Western Plus Hotels and this one was another great stay!! We could tell it was going to be nice when we used the guest bathroom in the hotel foyer; very clean, very spacious, well supplied. Our King room was clean, very comfortable bed, bathroom had all the usual soaps, shampoos and lotions supplied. Coffee maker in the room. Hallways were clean and smelled nice. Ryan and the front desk personnel were very personable and friendly. The hotel offered a hot breakfast but we left before it was ready. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Room dirty Ac didn't work right maids lounging around and sitting on front desk. Total hotel was not clean. Breakfast area was not open on time and very minimal on food. Pool was opened only when they felt like it. Front desk was very unprofessional. Not up to Best Western standards very disappointed.

This was a horrible experience, roaches everywhere, pool water green. Staff was extremely rude, housekeeping was horrible, front desk people rude, laundry room filthy, front desk didn't have change for machine ne

Was only in the room for maybe 5 minutes. Found bugs in between the sheets on the bed, stains all over the only chair in the room, and the bathroom wouldn't shut and left a gap so zero privacy while in there.

Stayed for 11 nights. Hotel fully met my expectations. Made reservation directly for a very competitive rate. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Hot breakfast available!

We've stayed at the BW Parkway many times over the past 15 years or so. The rooms have always been clean and comfortable. The breakfast is not fancy, but adequate for our needs. We've stayed at a few other places in Alton and feel that the Parkway is easily the best value.

Stayed there on a business trip at the end of March without issues or complaints - average 3 star hotel. This last trip at the end of May was awful! Will NOT stay there again. Front desk "clerk" was usually smoking out front with questionable looking people and I had to wait several minutes to check in so she could finish her cigarette. My key card stopped working twice as she "only had it set for one night" and again I had to wait for it to be corrected after a long workday because there was no one at the desk when I returned. (Out smoking again). Front desk staff appear unkempt and unprofessional. Questionable people hanging out at the front door smoking - not sure if it was only tobacco (why not a smoking area in the back?) Overall the carpet was dirty and the bathroom floor did not appear to have been cleaned. Elevator was out of order one day and I had to lug bags upstairs. Laundry was out of order - was there a week and would have been helpful to have available. I do not know what happened in a couple of months but I asked my company to remove it from the list of choices for travel arrangements. I see the room prices have dropped and now I know why.

Staff is friendly and they go above and beyond for your stay. We arrived 6 hrs earlier and the lady at the desk went above and beyond to get us a room a bit earlier. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were very clean. Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel was very clean and the staff very nice. We were not allowed in the pool. We were given a granola bar for breakfast. That is it, a granola bar. We were not offered anything else. Very disappointing. Room was clean, however the noise in the hotel was extremely loud and it continued through out he night.

Under new management which seems to want nothing to do with service to its customers. Only one visit from the maids (10 minutes) in a four night stay. Covid eliminated breakfast, but the options offered were not healthy. Could not stand the room coffee or going down to the lobby for each cup. No tissues in the room or disposable bowls (for the breakfast we bought elsewhere)--they ran out. All in all, it was clean but otherwise not good.

When in the Alton area, which is frequent, this hotel is my top choice. The rooms are clean and spacious and the front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located in a convenient location that is safe and where all my shopping and dining needs can be met.

Rooms feel dated and need some touching up(did not feel like it was up to the "plus" for best western), but was clean, except socks left in the closet and stain on the chair. Checking in was fine but when asking for breakfast next day, told i had to reserve the previous day. However at check in, a different lady did not tell me when i specifically asked about breakfast. The morning person did not provide any solution and treated it as business as usual, maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she is the boss, but seem the same complaints from other travelers. Would not stay there again. Hot breakfast has not returned, only takeaway bag, but many competitors (i am staying at quality inn today at carthage missouri and it has hot breakfast) returned, so hope they go back to it soon. Make sure you reserve your breakfast at check in.

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean and quiet. I liked that there were keycard useage for every entrance. Due to CoVid it's sack breakfasts, which aren't very filling, but it is definitely better than no breakfast at all.

PROS: Excellent night front desk clerk Tamara (pregnant African American lady), excellent overnight to early morning front desk clerk Shannon (bubbly caucasian lady). Both of them pulled up their masks once customers were around. plenty of parking , fast wifi, good selection of channels, comfortable beds and pillows, softer towels. good location- close to shops and restaurants . coffee, tea and hot water available in lobby all day. Accomodating manager - Ann. CONS:Poor day front desk clerk (did not bother to know her name- skinny, smoker, caucasian blond female who NEVER wore her mask nor enforced it on non-mask wearing customers. I even heard her yelling at a customer and they were going back and forth at it. Thinner walls, plenty of heavy machinery trucks in the back lot. 1 elevator in the middle of the building, breakfast now consists of a "to go bag"- danish, apple juice or small milk and a snack bar due to the pandemic. NO warm breakfast buffet.

I paid for the room on Priceline and got a good rate until we checked in. The woman behind the desk was not nice at all. Very rude with a nasty attitude. We had our grandchildren with us and it was late and non refundable. We were charged a smoke fee and we are non smokers. I truly believe it was a black fee. We will never stay there again and I wouldn't recommend any decent person to stay in the racist establishment. .

We were going to spend two nights, but we left after one because there were bedbugs. My wife wasted hours calling and emailing just to get our money back. The hotel manager kept pretending it was out of her hands. Stay away!

After making a non-refundable reservation on my credit card, I was required to put down a $150 cash deposit. After handing over the cash, I found out that I couldn't get it back until after 9am the next morning. I needed to leave earlier than that but literally could not leave earlier because their policy is that they won't give back the deposit until after 9am. I felt like I was being held hostage and will never stay there again.

Worst service I have ever received. I was staying for work. I went downstairs for coffee in the morning when I got locked out of my room. I went back to the front desk 3 times to be given newly swiped keys to try that didn't work. On the third try I asked that we try something different. She then came up with me and tried a "clean" card that didn't work. Then told me they would have to call the maintenance man. And at this point I am very worried I am going to be late for work and ask how long this will take? She says she doesn't know he has to drive in. Then the GM comes and acts as if i have just been completely irrational, which i had not been, frustrated yes but that was it. Then she proceeded to tell me that i was not welcome to stay there the remainder of my stay and she was calling the cops which was absolutely crazy because i had done nothing! The maintenance man gets there he literally takes the faceplate off and replaced 4 AA batteries so I wait 30 minutes ended up being screamed at by the GM, and being told to leave over changing 4 AA batteries. Absolutely the most unbelievable situation i have ever been in.

very clean room, friendly helpful staff,nice rooms we had a golf trip that needed three rooms, are check in was fast easy and painless, everyone in the group was satisfied and we would stay there again

Breakfast is advertised but is not provided. Wi-fi extremely weak and water pressure is low and inconsistent. The location is very good as this is the best area in Alton. The workers at the hotel were nice and did all they could.

Room was clean & well supplied with amenities. Beds were comfortable & ac worked great. However the AAA rate was not applied to our bill. For $100+ breakfast in a bag should be more than a bottle of water & 2 snack size granola bars!

This Best Western was in a great location. You would think being on a busy street it was going to be noisy but we were pleasantly surprised. Sadly we were traveling During covid-19 so we didn't get to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi as they were closed but it looked like a nice pool and the sack breakfast was good. GREAT coffee too!

Extended stay here, the room and rate was good. Emarie and Ann were great at the front desk. Always took time to say a nice word. But Trista was a rare gem. She would accomodate me in the early morning with hot coffee and made me feel at home during tense C-19 days. When you meet people who naturally care, it shows. Thank you to a wonderful staff.

Stayed here while at a family event and the room was clean and the shower warm. Bed was comfy and breakfast was good. Will go back next time in area. Just wish there was a full pot (12 cup) coffee maker in the room.

Best Staff PERFORMANCE in all our many stays. The entire crew is friendly and attentive. They are always going absolutely above and beyond for their guests. If you have any need, want or question any of the team are eager and willing to accommodate.

We booked one room then had to call to change the reservation to two rooms. The person on the phone was very accommodating and the check in person made sure our rooms as close to each other as possible. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

This is the second time we have stayed at this motel for this college meet. The location is near all the shopping and eating places . Easy in and out. Service is great motel is quiet amenities are good. Overall this was another good stay and we look forward to staying here next year.

We have stayed here previously and plan to stay here when we are in the area. Great location and quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. Even though we didn't use the exercise room, I look in and it seemed adequate. There is also a pool, but didn't use due to being shut down due to the season

The hotel showed its age. We had several issues in our room that we had to bring forward to front desk from a maintenance stand point. Door knobs fell off, the shower rod was loose, other things. The decor was outdated too. It was mostly clean, but needs some refreshing. The man at the front desk in the evening was very nice, but when we attempted to check in earlier, that woman was very rude. Luckily, when we went back, it was someone else. The hotel was pretty crowded, so breakfast was crowded. It was Ok though - typical breakfast stuff. There is an outdoor pool, but we didn't use it. Parking is located around the hotel. Not sure if our travels will bring us back to the area, but if so, we'll find a different place to stay.

Very nice, modern hotel with all the necessities. Very clean and all employees were so friendly. If we are in Alton again we will stay here! The breakfast was very nice, pool was always clean and inviting. About 40 minute drive to the arch but very quiet and peaceful. Really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here for 4 days and had excellent service and a good, clean room. We were visiting a number of family in the region and used this as a home base. Staff were great, house cleaning very cheery. Pool, although small, was very clean and outside. Great value and centrally located.

At 4am a knocking on the wall woke us up. Called front desk they sent maintenance eventually. Pipes we suspect. Meanwhile upon our check-out Joshua (fairly new) needed assistance with our change in payment transaction. The young lady from the breakfast set up, came to his aid. We all walked through the process to where she remembered and Joshua learned. I keep mentioning Joshua as it was refreshing to him to encounter someone just as nice as he is! Love this guy and the lady that helped him. Wish more hotel staff was honest as he was that he needed help with the transaction. I enjoyed talking with them and enjoyed my stay. Breakfast options were good. Keep doing what ya doing Joshua!

Stay at this hotel often due to working away from home and always have a great experience! The staff always take great care of me an all my accommodations during my stays. The hotel is always very clean and exceeds my expectations!

Went to visit family, and enjoyed my stay. It was a convenient location close to places to eat, local stor es, and gas stations. Free breakfast was good. Staff was friendly. This was an overall excellent place to stay. Highly recommended.

While on our trip to husband's class reunion , we stayed at the Best Western in Alton. There was some flooding in Alton but not at this location. The hotel was comfortable and clean. There is a nice outdoor pool. Shopping close by for travel supplies. No bugs to be seen and great hotel staff.

We were blessed with a clean room and top notch beds and services. Best room for the price Where we have stayed. Helpful friendly staff, pleasant surroundings, and charming little town. We visited Post Commons the following morning.

The rooms are huge and comfortable. The decor is nice, beautiful lobby. Friendly staff, great breakfast selection. Love that the hotel is conveniently located near family and friends. I will be staying at Best Western going forward.

Best Western Plus Parkway is the only hotel I will stay at when visiting my daughter. I visit every month and have always had a positive experience . The hotel is clean and staff is very friendly. The location is convenient to food and shopping.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting family. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and hotel in general. The bed was comfortable and the shower was very nice. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Excellent staff, clean, decor tasteful breakfast options great . Bed was very comfortable and I slept quite good. I would stay there again and refer my friends. All of your staff were very helpful. Peaceful.

Nice stay, no frills, plenty of businesses in the area. Rate was good, service was good, the front desk people were nice and very pleasant to work with. The only downfall was access to the property off of the main road, but I am being very picky on that, not really a big deal at all.

It's a nice hotel if your wanting to get away for a few days or so, it's nice to have a washer and dryer on hand that works well and breakfast is always a plus, location is great because your practically around everything you need or want and the price is reasonable!

When we checked in the staff was helpful and ensured that we recieved everything we needed to be comfortable. They made my wife and I feel at home, and this is one of the few locations that allowed pets, which ensured that we will return and use this location again.

I've stayed here before and never had a problem until this recent trip. We stayed for 3 nights and on the last night, we encountered an unwanted guest. This bug (maybe a water beetle) came scuttling by the bed. We were tired and I was hoping to shrug it off, until my daughter caught one of his friends an hour later. Since I did not want to join this roach party, we spoke to the front desk. They offered to move us to another room after asking to see the bug and comp our last night. After my husband dug through the trash to show them the bug we moved to another room. Morning came and so did the bill. I guess they changed their mind since only about $42 was taken off which is not the cost of a full night-nor is it even a cost at the Motel 6. It's unfortunate that after catching bugs, having to move rooms, being told that we would get comped, it would be yet another hassle to have to get this resolved. After contacting the corporate office, trying to contact the manager, we finally got an email after 4 days. This was after the holiday was over. I don't understand why it would have been so difficult to resolve this the from the beginning.

I stay at this motel often for business, sometimes its a few nights and sometimes its months at a time. I would recommend this motel to anyone. I have always been pleased with the service, friendliness of the employees and cleanliness of the room. Also there are plenty of eating establishments in the area.

Once you find your way into the place (you can see it but it's hard to find the driveway), this is a nice hotel with newer furnishings. There was plenty of furniture, including a table with good light for writing. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. It was quiet. The only downside was that the breakfast wasn't as good as it first appeared. There was a fair variety, but the hot items weren't the best. The eggs were dry and crumbly, and the bacon was limp and unappealing. However, I would definitely stay there again and stick with a cold breakfast.

A little off the beaten path but worth it. There is no entrance from Homer Adams Pkwy so you have to turn and come in from the back. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with a small table and 2 chairs, a microwave and small fridge. The bed was very comfy with lots of pillows. The hotel itself was quiet. Breakfast I must have missed the timing because there was only biscuits and gravy and potatoes left. Would definitely stay here again on my way west.

The Best Western Brand is consistently good. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and although breakfast items are predictable they are fresh and the coffee is GOOD. We have always felt secure at all the Best Western Inns we have stayed at. And the folks behind the desk have been very helpful with local places to eat or things to do in the area.

My maid of honor and I stayed at Best Western the night before my wedding. The lighting in the room was dingy and sucked for getting makeup on. The bathroom was a little too cramped for us to share the mirror. Breakfast was gross. Despite eating right after they opened it at 6, the hot foods were lukewarm and the biscuits were hard. If we had the time, we would have went somewhere else for breakfast.

It was nice and quiet except when other guests closed their doors. Evidently, no way to close them quietly, so much slamming. Desk staff very helpful. Nice reading chair and sofa in room, but poor reading light near either. Breakfast beyond expectations in that they offered a big bowl of fresh blueberries one day and sliced pineapple the next, whereas most places offer only apples, bananas, and oranges.

Had a problem and had to stay here for a night and they demanded a cash only deposit even when I'm putting my cc on file and room is paid for! I'm not a kid and throwing a party!! What a joke I'll take my business someplace else!

I've complimented this hotel before for its superb services, friendly staff and cleanliness and comfort. There's entertainment galore in the form of dozens of TV channels in the rooms, a swimming pool and workout facilities. But this Best Western also provides you with something totally unexpected: A literary education. You can sit comfortably in the lobby and read such classics as Ernest Hemingway's Farewell To Arms, Alex Haley's Roots and Janette Oke's The Calling of Emily Evans. Those and other books are provided on a shelf next to the fireplace. And that's not all. You can keep up with the news with your own daily copy the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and USA Today. This is such a comfort for those among us who like to read. In short, this is a hotel that caters to all of us.

Susan at the front desk was welcoming, placing me in the "just right" room. Both check-in & out were quick & efficient ~ thanks also to Bill & Marcus :-) Automatic front doors are always appreciated when wielding and overloaded luggage cart. Room #117, a queen double was was nicely appointed. Fridge/micro and flat screen TV. Free wifi w/plenty of signal strength and easily accessible bedside outlets w/USB ports. Bathroom was fairly clean w/nice floor tile & large granite counter. I did, however, notice a little bit of red/black mold along the seam of the granite & bathtub in the shower. Generous supply of bright white towels. Super comfortable beds with nice linens and lots of fat, fluffy pillows. Outside pool looked inviting. Continental breakfast had wide assortment of hot & cold offerings and was well tended. Great room at a great price and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend :-)

Although this is a nice hotel - clean rooms and well kept, the staff of any hotel makes an impression. When BREAKFAST was all gone much before the time it was to close I made mention of this ( JULY 24 2018 ) to the desk person - they seemed not much to care although did contact the kitchen. I think they do not like working here, including the kitchen staff. Displeased that I asked or that we as guests needed more - yikes !

This was the most amazing stay I have experienced in a hotel in a very long time. EVERYTHING was great, staff was pleasant and cordial. Not only was the breakfast was tasty and there were many options to choose from.

Rooms were clean, staff were very friendly. Breakfast could be better but all in all, not bad. Location of waffle maker could be better defined. Location was excellent. Close to many restaurants and some shopping.

Great stay! Kaitlyn was amazing! She made sure we were taken care of. Always helpful! Great breakfast! The beds were comfortable, and the room was very clean. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend!

We usually stay at the BW Premier (former Holidome) down the parkway, but were on a budget this trip. Clean rooms, great breakfast, convenient location. Beds were comfy and we even snuck a quick dip on the pool (on a stifling hot day).

Very nice hotel with wonderful front desk and breakfast staff. Rooms were spotless and the breakfast was excellent and had great variety. Bathroom was well stocked with toiletries. Our stay was very enjoyable.

St louis is too dangerous for me, not sure Ill be back, but this hotel was good and safe.

We frequently travel to this area to visit family and had never stayed at this hotel before--wish we had! Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and bathroom had plenty of room. The real bonus was the staff. I called to make reservations directly for 3 rooms for family members and the person was so helpful and made the reservation just as I requested. Check in was easy and handled quickly. Breakfast was very good and the attendant was friendly and efficient. All staff I encountered were very cordial and seemed to be doing excellent work. We will stay there again.

Barbara Caldwell & Elisha Womack are EXTRAORDINARY housekeeper!!!! Great customer service staff!!!! They need plastic shower caps in the bathroom, just in case you forget yours. The waffles were amazing!!!!!

Nice hotel and staff. We've stayed here a number of occasions, and it is always good. It is centrally located to a lot of restaurants and shopping, such as Target and Walmart. It is very convenient to a lot of things.

Awakened by the arrival of a noisy (screaming and the top of their lungs) guest next door. The staff was reluctant to solve the problem. Was told that they would make a call to the room. there was no change in the screaming, banging, and thumping for an hour. There was evidently a shift change because, thankfully, the next person who answered went to the room and there was quite within 10-15 minutes. I had family members staying on the floor below and near the front desk. they heard the noise also. Why was this not resolved?

Based on the information/sign, the breakfast was offered from 6:00 am to 10:00 am. At 9:30 am the breakfast items were empty and we were told no more would be added. If breakfast is not going to be prepared after 9:30, the information/sign should indicate 9:30 am. We purposely woke at 9:00 am to go and eat breakfast, which was not available. This was one of the biggest reasons for staying at this hotel was the hopeful availability of breakfast. Breakfast should be prepared and made available until 10:00 am, with the number of guests there it would have been consumed by 10:20 am. Nothing would have been wasted. Withot the breakfast the hotel room was overpriced.

I was very satisfied with the ease of making the reservations, the value and the comfort of the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't have the complimentary breakfast so I can't rate that.

The Hotel's appearance is clean and the rooms are nice. The location was perfect for us since we were "in town" working. Quite a ways from any interstate though. Breakfast was awesome. Staff polite, amenities are more than adequate, price is not crazy high but still more than what I want to pay. A lower price would have gotten a better rating.

The best hotel I ever stayed at and looking forward to coming back again and spending more time the staff was friendly and respectful to me and my guests I will recommend this hotel to any body that want a good place to sleep

There are more upscale choices available in the area now, so the folk sticking with this choice tend to be more downscale. It is not an issue of safety--I have always felt safe here. It is just that booking buses full of people or gatherings of other sorts tend to overwhelm a place. There are crowds at times when the groups convene. The rooms are fine and quiet. The food at breakfast is good. The staff is responsive. I just wish it was more focused on individual guests, rather than groups.

This Best Western in Alton, IL was the best one we have stayed in. The lobby was sizeable and very inviting. We want to return just so next time we can enjoy using it a lot. The breakfast was the best we have had as a free hotel breakfast at a Best Western, including skim milk, fat-free yogurt, waffles, eggs, cereals, and more. The location is quiet and easy to reach from the large new Amtrak station.

The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was awesome. They only have an outside pool which was closed of course at this time of year. There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc, along with baked goods 24 hrs in the lobby and a free newspaper. The first day housekeeping forgot to empty our ice bucket, but the rest of the time the rooms were cleaned well.

Let it be known that the former Atrium Hotel is now the Best Western Premier on College Ave, not Homer Adams Parkway. We did not know the address had changed and booked ourselves into an inferior hotel with lots less amenities.

Always a great comfortable stay at a reasonable price! We try to stay here every time we are in this area. Easy to find conveniently located and nice friendly staff! Breakfast is great, a very nice way to start off your day. We enjoy this place!

The hotel offers tremendous quality, comfort, furnishings and food at a very competitive price. A great experience for me, a tired traveler, who wanted a good night's sleep and a good breakfast before starting my long drive in the morning.

Stayed Sunday night during Labor Day Weekend. The place was deserted. When making reservations, I was told they had free shuttle to Fast Eddie's, but since they had very few reservations that night they didn't schedule a shuttle driver. Instead gave us some complimentary tickets for the bar which has a great craft beer selection. Did Lyft to Fast Eddie's and took a cab back to hotel. Only $5.00. Fantastic breakfast next morning!

We chose this hotel as it is pet friendly. We had friends staying at a hotel next door that is not pet friendly. Our room was $40 a night less expensive and just as nice. Very impressed with this hotel for the price.

this facility is conveniently located near the Lewis and Clark Community college. the facility is clean, nicely furnished and the staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Included breakfast is adequate with a good selection of items.

While working on a Habitat for Humanity Build I stayed at this hotel and it was wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I used the internet connection in the evenings in the lobby and it was a good connection. I highly recommend this hotel!

For the money this couldn't have been better. Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location and pet friendly. The bed and pillows were comfortable, too! The only problem we had was that the breakfast was so packed on a holiday Sunday that they ran out of food when we went back for the third time but there was still cereal, milk and yogurt which is all we needed anyway. Even the people staying at the hotel were friendly! And with two small dogs running around in the back parking lot I left that was a miracle in it self.

We found the staff and the room to be delightful. The room was very clean as was the entire hotel. The breakfast was served the following morning was very good and the buffet was well maintained. I would recommend staying here the price is very reasonable.

We were missing a screen in the bathroom faucet, and I asked for an extra luggage rack since we were staying 13 nights, also some help with the TV. I left for an hour and when I returned everything was fixed, and the extra luggage rack was in my room. I love staying here as everyone is always helpful from the desk staff, to cleaning personnel and the lovely ladies at breakfast. We have stayed here several times over the past few years and we always receive great service and comfortable rooms. The breakfast items are always hot and fresh.

A very clean comfortable stay. Breakfast was very good. Beds were comfortable. If you are wanting to tour Alton you will need a car as this facility is not in the downtown area. It is about a 10 minute drive into town.

I came into Alton to see my family after travelling in South America. I was super glad to be home. My grandsons came to visit and spend the night with me. They really loved swimming in the pool at the hotel.

This was a great hotel and staff. Enjoyed the stay while we were visiting family in Alton. I believe the breakfast could have been better tasting and more of a variety for Best Westerns. Need to have more washer and dryer machine, but I'm glad they had one for a reasonable price.

Service, cleaning room was inconvenient and breakfast service 1day was very poor. Hope the next time things are better. Most chains prop door open and clean while guests are in the room. Apparently BW policy is guests can't be in room. Daughter is disabled and it is about convenience.

The staff was very helpful and made it easy to check in and check out. Breakfast was great with variety of hot and cold choices. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend for any out of town guests to stay here while in the area.

Friendly staff, made sure we got the room we requested ( 1st floor as traveling w a Pooch). LIttle challenging to get into the driveway but the young girl at the desk explained the reason... re zoning. Plenty of parking and adequate places to walk the dog. Nicely appointed room.

Below expectations, please check my input on the survey.. the room smelled musty. When asked if there was anything I could do, they sprayed air freshener which almost made it worse. The beds were uncomfortable, breakfast was cold, and the hotel looked very outdated.

This place is a nice, clean place to stay. Conveniently near several restaurants, it is an affordable choice...air conditioning worked really well. Accessible room that I was in had a tub with sturdy bars...check to see if they have a room with a roll-in shower if you need one. Room had a fridge and microwave...that was nice...bath products were nice, too. Breakfast staff was very friendly and kept items well-stocked...

The first thing that needs to be said is that the staff here went above and beyond to accommodate my party. Also I love the building itself which is rare for a hotel like this but so what I loved it. Parking was a sinch, the sleek design inside the rooms felt welcoming, and the pool was perfect!

This hotel is clean and has a very friendly staff. Nice pool decent breakfast in the morning. Nice place to stay when visiting Alton IL. The location is very central and there is plenty of shopping in the area.

This motel is conveniently located on the Homer Adams Parkway (the Belt Line), near the Kohl's store and other shopping. It is very close to the new Amtrak station being built. To access BW, one has to drive through the Burger King parking lot. The lobby/ front desk area is comfortable and staff is accommodating. We had a handicapped accessible room, which mainly just means there are grab bars on the bathroom walls, the clothes bar is lower and there is a pocket bathroom door. Our room was very clean, king bed was firm and comfy and the FIVE pillows were so comfy. They provided us with 2 sets of towels. Wifi was adequate, there was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The breakfast was quite good with some egg dish, breakfast meat, cereals, sweet rolls and muffins, fruit, yogurt, milk, juice each morning. I do wish that the pool were indoors. The only negative is that the hallway doors to each room down the hallway, slam as they are closed and can be heard a distance away.

We found all aspects of the hotel what we wanted. The room was spacious and clean. The parking convenient to the room. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast was quite good with a variety of items to choose from. Good coffee available both in breakfast room and in lobby. Free newspapers included St. Louis and USA Today. - Only minor criticism was flow of water from shower head and BR basin faucet as both seemed to have aerators that restricted volume coming out. But that was minor. Can recommend this hotel and will stay here again should we venture into the Alton area in the future.

Best Western plus is almost always a good bet and this one does not disappoint. Great service, clean rooms, nice decor, convenient location, GREAT breakfast (even bacon), comfy beds and pillows...what more do you need? Last stop was a Motel 6 and that is a mistake I won't be making again. It was a real treat to get here and have amenities that make you feel at home.

Very disappointed. Different rules for different people. Not good. Very Clean. I don't think that I will stay here again. The manager was notified by phone of the problem. She was not nice. Yes we could hear her on the phone.

This is a great hotel, but I did not sleep well. I sleep on a very soft mattress, so I was not comfortable on the firm bed. The breakfast was great. The hotel was clean and easy to get to. I would stay here again.

It's an ok place. The walls are very thin. Breakfast was nice and everyone seems friendly. Rooms seem somewhat clean and everything works as it should at least in the room I was in. Best western keeps an eye on things like tgat

We stopped in Alton on our way to Branson Missouri, the first leg of our 3 week journey to Lakeland Florida. The evening manager was very pleasant and helpful. He gave us a number of restaurant options and we Chose a local steakhouse. Best steaks and burgers we have eaten in a long time. Over all the hotel and staff were very good. The young lady who worked the breakfast room was very pleasant but would benefit if she was given more training.

Very nice new hotel. Rooms are very nice and free breakfast is a definite plus. Pool could be a little warmer. Beds were very comfortable. Close to a lot of fast food places but not too many nice restaurants.

We had a perfect stay at the Hampton Inn. The property is the newest and nicest in town. Kelsey checked us in and upgraded us to a suite after a long day - it was so appreciated! The room was huge, tastefully decorated, and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. It was another great Hampton stay for our family. Glad to have this option on our visits to the area.

This brand new Hampton Inn was wonderful. It lives up to the brand in quality and expectations. Very nice workout room. It has a nice indoor pool. The queen beds, bedding, and pillows are very nice and standard to the Hampton Inn brand. The microwave's clock is pretty bright at night, so I had to use some paper to cover it. The hotel is near shopping, restaurants, and a US Post Office.

Stayed one night at this new location. Great New Hampton Inn. If you are in this area strongly recommend this Hotel. I travel a lot on business and try to stay at a Hampton Inn because of the beds and rooms. Alway comfortable.

We visit family in Alton once or twice a year, and usually stay here. We've tried several hotels in Alton, and overall the Parkway has given us the best value. The hotel was remodeled a few years ago and the rooms are in good repair and clean. On our most recent visit (Labor Day weekend 2016), access was a little tricky to due some road construction. The breakfast is good, with a variety of items offered.

This hotel had just opened a few days prior to my arrival. It was decorated nicely and of course everything was new. Beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was the best. The options of waffles, oatmeal, sausage, omelets, potatoes, pastries, etc was excellent. Very friendly staff also. I will stay here again if in this area.

Hotel was clean, attractive, located close to everything, good parking, well lit parking lot. Breakfast buffet was great, something for everybody. All the staff was polite and helpful I had a handicapped room and it was equipped with a roll in shower which was very helpful. The bathroom was huge, and the whole room was easy to get around in.

Rundown and somewhat dirty, especially in the common areas. Breakfast uneven, missing many items-juice, coffee, main menu stuff. Phone call to desk unanswered. I hope the Hampton is open the next time I need to go to Alton

We've stayed here on two occasions while riding in the Bike MS. The rooms are attractive, the staff friendly and the rooms are quiet. Because of the rush at breakfast with many bicycle riders, the buffet was out of several items when we arrived at 8 AM and we had to wait for restocking. I also had to return twice to the front desk to get the proper code for the internet service.

Just a quick over night stay to celebrate our One Year Anniversary. Very clean, nice beds, friendly staff. Unfortunately, we missed breakfast. A lot of things to do in the area or within driving distance too.

Best Western, Alton Illinois is the go-to place for a visitor to this Mississippi border community. There are wonderful amenities at the hotel, great nearby restaurants such as I Hop, Panera, Applebees. The breakfast at Best Western changes each day which helps when the stay keeps me there more than one day. The staff are welcoming. The beds are comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

1st weekend August. If you are looking for a getaway or need to be in the Alton-STL area or, consider spending a few nights at this BW Plus in Alton, IL. Not because I grew up here--back in the day and not because it is so Sunny Year round (compared to my city of residence). Consider staying here because the people who work here help you to feel welcomed, not a bother. They like Joanna, their manager. I've stayed here for multiple visits in 2015, totaling at least 50 days in 2015-16. I've found the hotel's smoke free policy is usually respected by guests; its price point is good, too. Easily adjust the room temperature and level of (sun) light. Sleep on the king sized beds and try to get out of bed in the morning. I dare you to not to covet them. Choose the order: Treat yourself to great shower and the breakfast buffet's delicious hot foods you know are not supposed to have Every day of your life. Smell & drink the coffee. Sip tea, herbal or caffeinated hot or on ice. Discover several department stores, plus a mall all very close for last minute buys or a spree. Grocery stores holding my dark chocolate, restaurants*, & more within 1-2 mi., starting right across the street! The mini fridge kept my oranges and extra water cold. *For the last year or so, we've had the best dinners and snacks at 4204 Main St. Brewing Co. -sandwiched between a side of the mall and a seafood restaurant chain- 2 short blocks away from the hotel. When you come back to the hotel, Relax on the firm or soft lobby furniture or on the firm, cushiony K-sized bed…ER, furniture in your room. I see & hear nice things about the outdoor pool, but it's not my thing. This hotel can be your home away from home, too. I usually hate to leave and go back to reality. I think Parking was a bit tight due to construction in the back, but that should clear up by Nov 1. jp

I just spent one night at the hotel. The hotel is easy to locate and offers free parking. There are many restaurants nearby. Check-in was complicated in that my room was not available. She offered me a down graded room at the same price that was ready. Since I was eager to get settled in and take care of some business, I took the smaller room. The front desk staff was able to provide directions to where I was needing to work the next day. However, when asking for a recommendation for dinner she insisted that I try one specific restaurant. She was so insistent, until I asked her if she owned the restaurant. The room is spacious enough with a king bed, computer desk and chair. There was also a microwave in the room. The bathroom was very small, requiring the door to be shut if you wanted to use the bathroom. The mattress was a little worn and hard. However, there were ample pillows. The hallway and room smells like cigarette smoke. I am assuming some rooms must be for smokers. The breakfast is your basic free breakfast. A couple of hot items and mainly cold items. Currently there is little competition for this hotel. The owners of this hotel is building a Hampton right behind this hotel and I suspect once it is build this hotel will suffer.

Check in was very quick and easy. Lots of place to eat near by and easy to get to. Free breakfast was the typical free breakfast, waffles, sweet rolls, ect. Room was clean and the Ac worked well. There is road construction near and had to watch getting into parking lot

Our bathroom door would not shut. Looks like they replaced the door recently with a wooden door that did not fit. Walls need painting. Electrical outlets were loose. Had to be very careful unplugging cord from outlet. Water pressure was bad in the room. Hotel staff was nice and friendly and the lobby was nice. The rest of the hotel needs an overhall.

Reserved 2 Queen beds, only had 1 King on arrival at 3am - for 3 adults! No other option than to stay there that night. Manager was never available and after we left would not return any of my 6 phone calls. Any credit for lack of service was up for discussion, but the total lack of concern for a customer who paid in full is another matter entirely. This Management is incompetent and rude! Beware of paying in full ahead of time - there is no good option for compensation other than to contest the credit card charge.

A nice hotel for the price and in market with limited choices. Came into town for family reunion. Staff is friendly and professional but unpolished at times. Free breakfast is adequate. Kids like the pool. Rooms clean. . The rating could easily be a 5 by paying attention to the little details. Will come back.

A friend and I stayed at the Best Western for one night while exploring this area of Illinois. I selected this hotel based on the positive reviews, the price and the fact that the breakfast was included in the price. Check-in was very smooth, the man that helped me with check-in was courteous and very helpful. I always appreciate a friendly, helpful person when arriving at a hotel after a long day of travel. The hotel decor was clean and modern and the rooms were very tastefully decorated and clean as well. Our only suggestion would be that the tables in the breakfast area be wiped down a bit more often between diners. The eating area was basically clean but we did switch tables until we found one that was totally clean. Aside from that we really enjoyed our stay and every employee that we encountered was friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back!

There are very few lodging options in this area and having stayed at most, this is the best deal for the money. We stayed multiple days so we got the multi-day discount which is better than the AARP or any other discount available. Also joined their "club" to get perks but have seen no perks despite having thousands of points. The room is larger than the hotel next door and there is an entry lobby seating area and TV with coffee which is nice. Free breakfast is typical with the desk clerk also in charge of refilling the various food stations. When I arrived for breakfast there were about 10-15 people milling around looking at empty milk, yogurt, cereal and hot food stations. When the desk clerk arrived (between checking out guests and answering the phone) he brought 2 milks. There has been a serious problem with many hotels I have stayed at with having the Desk Clerk refill the breakfast stations. The lady who prepared the eggs, sausage and put the rest of the food out only worked until 8:00 so it's not her fault there was a lack of food. This is a SYSTEMIC problem that is figured into how the hotel chain is administered. I would really like Best Western to address this at the CORPORATE LEVEL. People pay your extra fees - the full room rate is $104.00 and I bet people pay that thinking they are getting more for their money than the place next door. If you are going to say you provide a good or service then provide it. It costs you nothing to have milk in the coolers except it is there for people when they want it, instead of creating shortages so people do not use it. Get it together Best Western Plus Corporate. The staff was professional, friendly and responsive. KUDOS to the people that made our stay enjoyable.

I typically avoid Best Western but this hotel is very nice and have stayed there a couple times while working in the area. I plan to stay there again if in the area. Parking can be a little problematic since a new hotel is going up immediately behind the BWP but it isn't too hard. I have stayed at this property a couple of times and have always found it to be clean quiet and comfortable. It can be hard to find the property entrance due to construction in the area. You usually enter thru the parking lot of an adjacent Burger King but when we arrived the last time, we had to go down to the next intersection (HomeDepot) and come in on a back street due to the cross street being blocked by road construction.

This hotel was actually great. The location worked well for us and the price was very reasonable. The rooms were super clean, the breakfast was great and the staff friendly and helpful. The bed pillows were small but plentiful; the mattress was good. A safe bet if you are going to be in Alton, IL or close to it.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a variety of food for breakfast each day that we stayed there. The room was clean and quiet. We asked for and got a room on the first floor so it would be easier for my husband to go out and be able to smoke his cigarettes.

We were in town to visit my husband's family and paid to stay for three nights. First night uneventful - comfortable, clean, good coffee. We would have preferred two queens and a pull out sofa bed but they said they did not have them in their facility. We were gone all day the next day and returned to our room after 4 pm and the room had not been cleaned. No one had been in the room - not to pick up dirty linen, vacuum, make beds, empty trash, nothing. I called the front desk and was told housekeeping had gone for the day and I was welcome to come down and get clean towels and anything else I needed. So I asked, to clarify, I paid you $150 per day for a room and you want me to clean it? And she said, "Yes. Housekeeping forgot to schedule your room as occupied and they are gone". My husband discussed this with the desk manager, the Hotel Manager never returned our call, and we checked out. We opted to deal with American Express as the Best Western front desk manager was unable to answer any questions or offer any options for dealing with their complete lack of customer service and she was unable to reach the General Manager for assistance.

I think the service at this hotel was among the best we have received anywhere. The room was immaculately clean and the desk people were as helpful as I've found at 5 star hotels. It was very hot during the stay -- 99 degrees on 2 of the 4 days -- but the air conditioning was up to the challenge and the hotel had a decent outside shampoo. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who is visiting the north St Louis suburbs. If you have a chance check out some of the riverside restaurants along the Mississippi north of town. Beautiful views and good food.

No surprises and no disappointments. Helpful staff: phone reservations for multiple rooms went smoothly, and we got the help we needed while we were there. Rooms were ready and clean when we arrived, and beds were comfortable. Quite: no noticeable traffic noise from our room. Didn't try the breakfast, but it looked as good as any free breakfast at most hotels. Overall, very good value for a hotel.

This hotel has fine service and is a bargain for the cost. It was handy for our visit to see family, with fine amenities and a good location. Alton is a nice and attractive town. We would stay there again. Thanks for a nice trip.

We use this hotel when visiting family. My wife has asthma and the rooms here don't cause her problems. The hotel staff has always been helpful and professional. The breakfast is good and of consistent quality (not the best and not the worst). The exercise room works for us and has not been crowded. The water conserving faucets are slightly annoying to use. Overall, this is a nice place to stay.

This hotel is the newest in town (although one is opening up behind it by the end of the year). The lobby has a nice living room feel with a fireplace. The dining area with the free hot breakfast is nice. There is a nice pool that is positioned in the front of the hotel, and the rooms were comfy too. I received a handicapped room, although I am not. This may be due to my late arrival. However, the refrigerator, microwave, and sanitized remote control :) were a plus.

I stayed here cause my 20 Year Class Reunion was in town. It was a great hotel, clean, quiet, good breakfast and easy parking. I would recommend it to others that need to stay in Alton, IL. The price was a tad bit high for an Alton, IL hotel but its still a nice place to stay.

Room was clean. Nice couch and chair with ottoman. Air conditioner blew right on desk chair. Continuous fan option did not work. Construction behind building. Breakfast was good. Price was reasonable. Get rid of the brown blankets that are double wrapped and get something new and fresh. Close to restaurants and shopping. Had outdoor pool that wasn't advertised. Use the pool towels--they are more absorbent than the room towels.

Checked in hotel and was met with a front desk girl that seemed put out doing her job. Hotel was clean, and all the cleaning staff were nice, but the gangsta music coming from their phones in their pockets was less than desirable. Guess I just do not want to hear it and it's unprofessional. Not bad rates and not bad for Alton. Small improvements in customer service would rate his way higher.

Check in was fast and easy as well as check out. Nice stay! Very easy to get around to places such as shopping and restaurants. Close to St. Louis, only about a half hour drive. Would recommend this hotel to others.

The room was very clean, the front desk very friendly and the breakfast was tasty! The beds were comfortable and the channel selection on the TV was fantastic! As far as I'm concerned, not much else to be concerned about!

This hotel has a fantastic location near shopping, resturants(fast Food) right off fwy. the staff was very helpful in finding sites and restaurants and location of University. So glad we had fresh coffee in the lobby during the storm

This motel is located next to a burger king and in front of a construction zone. The staff was very friendly. Room was very clean, however, the door didn't fit correctly, light and noises from hallway filtered into our room. Our room faced the burger king drive through. we could hear the speakers very clearly. Breakfast on weekdays did not have meats or eggs.

The staff at front desk was very helpful and nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. The only problem was getting to the hotel. There is construction going on in the area and was a little confusing getting in parking lot.

Myself, my daughter and my mom stayed here for one night to be close to my daughter's volleyball tournament in a nearby town. The positives are that the hotel was very clean, the staff was nice, the price was right (only $100 with tax), and they offered a free basic breakfast. The negatives are that the property is old, the beds were very firm, and there was a weird musty smell in the room. That being said, it was fine for staying one night or even two, but I would not want to stay for longer than that.

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western. It was hard to access the lobby entrance because of construction around the hotel. There should have been signage to assist people to get in. Other than that I enjoyed the town of Alton and my hotel staff.

Alton Best Western Plus is exceptional, very clean and a great hotel. wi fi is spot on, breakfast is decent and staff is very professional and the hotel is great. pool is clean and the rooms are clean and have great extras, refrigerator is good, tv and comfort and décor is just great.

We stayed here for four nights recently and enjoyed the stay. Samantha, the evening desk person was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable. The only glitch was that we put the little door knob sign on our door as we left for the day. The sign to "Please make up room". The back side of the sign says " Do not disturb". I guess housekeeping didn't look too carefully because we got back in the evening to the room just as we left it with dirty towels and full trashcan and no toilet paper. A note was left under the door: "We honored your request to not disturb you. Housekeeping is gone for the day....". Samantha at the desk brought us what we needed. She was great. We will stay here again.

What can I say, the place was very clean and well maintained. I travel A LOT for work. the entire staff made me feel like I was family. For the price you can't beat it..... If there was a complaint it was the entrance. You had to go through Burger King to get in. They are building a new Hampton next door and when that is complete there will be a better way in.

Hotel personnel very nice and professional. Breakfast one of the best we have had, for a free hotel type. Hotel in general a little old, but updated nicely. Unfortunately, only small outdoor pool, so cannot recommend for families with children, or adults that would like to indulge, when weather not suitable. All in all a very pleasant stay, very quiet, comfortable rooms. And again, staff amazing!

Hotel was clean. Service was good. Bill was wonderful! One blonde VERY crabby girl worked 2nd shift. Breakfast was typical. Saturday night, the town shuts down at 11pm. We wanted pizza and the only place available was Papa Johns.

I was laying in bed when I notice something crawling on my pillow. I picked it up it started to suck my blood. I opened up the pillow cover to discover another. I have pictures. The white picture is pillow with bed bug on it.

When we checked in the lobby was tastefully decorated and clean. The staff was friendly. The room was in need of updating. We had difficulty with the printer not working in the business center. An employee tried to fix it but could not. During the night our toilet stopped working, it would not flush. We informed the desk but no one came to fix it. We were told when we checked out that they waited for us to leave. Breakfast was ok, but they kept running out of food and plates. The employee could not keep up with the demand even though there were not that many people there. I would not recommend this hotel for the price.

This was a very nice stay. The rooms were clean, the service was friendly, the price was reasonable. The breakfast selections were very good. The beds were extremely comfortable. The wi-fi left a little to be desired.

went up to alton Illinois for a short weekend trip to visit friends. stayed at the best western hotel off of homers parkway. very clean room, excellent bed and bathroom. the free breakfast was more than just cereal. this one had egg omletts, bacon, biscuits and gravy, waffles, rolls, toast, cereal, fruit and it all tasted great. staff at front desk was very fast and very friendly. I definently will stay here again

First stay at a Best Western hotel. The room and bath were very clean, everything worked great. The beds were comfortable. All the front desk staff we encountered were very friendly. Even the staff we passed in the halls were friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the breakfast, which was better than many of the quick, free breakfasts at other small hotels. We would definitely stay here again.

Great value for money. Clean rooms and common areas, breakfast included in the price. I came to see family over the Christmas holidays, and the lobby/breakfast area were both nicely decorated. Lobby has a homey feel. Staff was very friendly, from front desk to the cleaning staff. Room was tidy, everything in good repair. Bathroom clean and nicely stocked. One slight issue - cable TV had screen static. This happened in other rooms as well.

We frequently travel with our dog and find this hotel to be an excellent provider of services. They even have a Walking Area and provide bags! And frankly, even if we didn't have the dog with us, we WOULD stay here because of the friendliness of the staff, the ease of getting in and out of the hotel area, the close amenities, and overall quality of the hotel.

We were welcomed by a young lady that was very pleasant, congenial, well groomed and was helpful throughout our stay. The Housekeeping staff was also very caring, congenial and helpful. Everyone we encountered seemed to like their jobs and truly be interested in all of our needs. We appreciated the cleanliness and the obvious interest being given this facility: new carpets, paint, updates to the breakfast area including the neat way it was maintained and furnished.

We enjoyed our 2 day stay. The check in was quick and the room was very comfortable. Although I did not request a handicap room, we were assigned one because I use a cane. I though that was very thoughtful and observant of the desk clerk. Breakfast was typical fare, but good. Will stay there again in a few days.

I had a great experience staying at the Best Western Plus...Prices were beyond reasonable...the staff was as accomodating as they could be...exceeded my expectations. The only reason my sleep quality is marked as average is because i was there for work and they had me working night shift...not the fault of the hotel or the staff.

If you're visiting the St. Louis area and don't mind travelling a bit to get into the city, Alton is a good location and the Best Western is a great choice for your hotel. The hotel is 5 minutes from downtown Alton, right on the Mississippi. Our room was comfortable and quiet, bathroom was clean. Breakfast was good. One hint is right now the hotel is expanding and the only way to get into the hotel parking lot is through the front of the Burger King parking lot. Don't go through the back of the Burger King, or you'll end up in the drive up lane.

Stayed in town for a wedding and was very pleased with the location of this hotel. Easy access to St. Louis and Grafton. Close to several restaurants and stores. The rooms were well kept and the staff was very pleasant. The nonsmoking room was actually nonsmoking, which you think would be a given, but isn't. Pleasantly surprised with this hotel.

Overall this hotel is good. Housekeeping needs to pay a bit more attention to detail when vacuuming and to check the coffee maker for used pods, but everything else was just fine. Breakfast was as expected although a bit more of fresh fruit would have been nice. Breakfast area was clean and attendant very nice.

We had four couples and four rooms. They put us all together on the same floor. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed during our trip to participate in the border wars triathlon. After the race we were all too tired to go to dinner and they were going to allow us to order in and eat in the board room so we could all share a meal and talk about the race. Well, we ended up going out after all, but the offer was very thoughtful!

I had a doctor's appointment, for a condition I have. I am unemployable due to that condition, and finances are low for me. I needed a special medical rate. Samantha went out of her way, and phoned Joanna late in the evening in an effort tom try to help me. Thank God things worked out.

This Best Western Hotel is my favorite place to stay when travelling, espeacially for last minute travel. The Breakfast is quality, hot, fresh. The hotel staff is friendly. The rooms are nice and clean.The location is excellent.

The hotel was great, very clean, friendly staff and breakfast was good. The only complaint I have is that the doors have no sound barrier at all. A couple down the hall from us was holding a conversation outside their doors and it sounded as if they were in our room. We could hear everyone walk by. The door slam very fast and hard behind you which woke our kids up at night when someone on the floor did it and it was concerning that they could slam on little fingers very easily. Other than the doors, everyone was great!

This is a nice hotel but a bit hard to figure out how to get to. You have to go through the Burger King parking lot to get to the front of the hotel. Nice room and very nice staff. Only bad thing I can say is that we are travelling with our dog and we had a room on the second floor at the end of the hall. A bit hard to take him out.....and he wasn't crazy about the elevator. Breakfast was very nice, even had burritos that I really enjoyed as something different. Staff was as nice as could be.
