It did not feel like a 3-star hotel. The location was very convenient for us, and despite being in a central area, we did not find it noisy. However, the building and rooms are in serious need of remodeling. The room had only one working power outlet, which was inconvenient for charging phones. A minibar/refrigerator, proper nightstands, and better-quality bath towels would also be necessary additions. Overall, the hotel has a convenient location, but the facilities need significant improvement to meet the standard of a 3-star hotel.

A Surprisingly good hotel and just minutes from the airport on foot. Rooms may be a little dated but they are comfortable and have air con. All staff very friendly but I would suggest that Emma takes a customer service course

Great, happy staff working here. We were so impressed with our male receptionist who greeted us warmly on the 19th of May. We had a lovely little meal in their restaurant/café with excellent food at great prices. The rooms are a bit basic but really it's only a place you're staying in for one night and it is a seven minute walk from the airport which is perfect for us to catch a bus into San Sebastián the following day.

Booked here for an early morning flight as the hotel is next to the airport check in was good as we got into our room early we had to pay the city tax €5.The only downside was no fridge but that was ok for a one night stay.Good bus service into town and beyond so would be a good base

I stayed here with a school group for two nights, and I would happily return. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the location very quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfast offered a variety. The location was good, with public transport options around the corner as well as a small shopping centre and various eateries.

The staff is incomplete and bot willing to take responsibility for their mistakes. The manager checked me in and left my passport in the scanner overnight which caused me a two hour delay and added fuel and toll expenses the next day. This made this relatively inexpensive room at least 3 times more expensive than the posted price. They were not willing to do anything to reimburse my expenses. The staff was curt in their attitude. I will choose another brand on my next visit to the region.

After a very difficult experience at another hotel in Pau, I was left outside in the sun, exhausted and trying to find a safe place to stay. I am disabled and cannot manage stairs easily, and the previous place had put me on the 5th floor with a broken elevator. Things felt overwhelming until I arrived at Ostal Pau University Sure Hotel. From the moment we arrived, Daniela and Tibra went far above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. They didn't just check me in—they made sure I was comfortable, safe, and cared for. They placed me on the ground floor so I wouldn't have to tackle stairs, helped store perishable food in the refrigerator, and even assisted in other small ways to make my arrival easier. Their warmth, kindness, and generosity made a huge difference during a stressful time. They welcomed my son and me with compassion and care, showing genuine humanity in every interaction. Their extraordinary hospitality turned what could have been a difficult experience into one I will always remember with gratitude. I hope the management and ownership of this property recognize how valuable Daniela and Tibra are to their team. They deserve praise, recognition, and reinforcement for a job extraordinarily well done. Thank you again for making our stay in Room 106 so welcoming and memorable. With all my gratitude, (Room 106)

Away from the city and quiet although near the airport great place to explore Biarritz and surrounding towns Free parking 🅿️. Well appointed rooms with AC We were here for five nights

Very convenient for the airport. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The bar prices were reasonable too. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Good value for money.

This hotel has the friendliest staff, best breakfast and lowest cost yet very comfortable rooms ! We arrived late and booked near the airport so we could easily pick up.our rental car the next day ( ten minute walk). We arrived just as dinner was closing but they happily offered us a very good meal anyway. Breakfast the next morning, when bought with the room is only 10€ and includes a great buffet with scrambled eggs/bacon, cheeses and hams, crepes, cereal, yogurts, pastry's, whole and cut up fresh fruit, fresh baguette, expresso, juices etc. the service there is super friendly and you can sit outside or inside. The rooms are just what you need uf you are o only sleeping there- I would go with the “comfort” upgrade to get a queen, espresso machine in the room and a larger nicer layout. Only possible downside is that there are stairs only- no elevator ( looks like a classic motel from back in the day) so if stairs are a problem be sure to request a ground floor room. We liked it so much we decided to stay there for several days and use it as a home base for exploring Biarritz ( 10 min) San Sebastián (50 min) and Bilbao 1 hr 45). Even though they were fully booked they found us an upgraded room and moved our luggage for us. There is ample free parking ( a big challenge when you stay in town) and no noise from the nearby airport ( except an occasional military jet) although we were there mostly only at night. All in all a great solution if you want to explore and not worry about having luggage in your car that could prompt a break in and have an easy comfortable hotel to return to with a very friendly staff and a great breakfast! Honestly- as a road warrior, this do exceeded my expectations that I decided to write this review ! If you need a fancy looking hotel- this is not for you.
