Learn more about Seoul

For an original and truly unusual holiday, between ancestral cultures and heightened modernity, head to South Korea and its capital Seoul. A huge metropolis where high-tech metros, palaces, Buddhist temples and modern skyscrapers stand side by side, Seoul holds many treasures.

A stay in a hotel in Seoul will give you the opportunity to be close to the city's notable attractions, such as the futuristic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Gyeongbokgung Palace or Jogyesa Temple, with century-old acacias and pines as a backdrop. Enjoy an exceptional holiday between the volcanic landscapes of Jeju Island and the port of Busan, taking in the many temples and other typically Korean curiosities along the way.

Extravagance, exoticism and a change of scenery will be on the agenda during your journey to Seoul.

Your hotel in Seoul

The capital of the "Land of the Morning Calm" opens its doors to reveal some of its mysteries. On arrival, you will immediately be swept up by the scale and grandeur of the megalopolis's various high-tech installations and skyscrapers. A cosmopolitan city, Seoul displays extreme extravagance through its buildings, in total contrast with the more traditional homes and hanok found in the Bukchon district.

Museum lovers will be spoilt for choice with the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, the National Palace Museum of Korea and the National Museum of Korea. Palaces are also plentiful and are spread across the whole city. It is hard to choose between Deoksu, Changdeok or Changgyeong, and so many others, each as sublime as the next.

Continue to Seoraksan National Park, meaning "snowy peaks mountain", for a breathtaking hike, so incredible are the landscapes. Pines, ash trees, cherry trees and birches display their shimmering colours. Lush valleys and granite peaks will dazzle you. Make your way to the 7th-century Sinheungsa Temple, before heading to Ulsanbawi Rock for the most daring.

Haeinsa Temple, built in 802, is worth a visit, if only to appreciate the sacred Tripitaka Koreana and its 80,000 wooden tablets engraved with ideograms. For a leap into the Korea of yesteryear, head to the village of Hahoe, where you can visit the Mask Museum. Finish with Gyeongju, which remains a must on any stay in Seoul, before taking a break at Namsan park, lined with 57 Buddhas carved into the rocks. And if you have a little time left, Suncheon Bay, Jeju Island and Hallasan National Park are not to be missed.

How to get to Seoul?

The plane remains ideal for reaching Seoul quickly, arriving at Incheon International Airport, located in Incheon. The largest airport in the country, it serves many national and international destinations.
