We initially booked a suite at this hotel for our first night in Corsica and loved it so much that we reserved another room for our final night as well. When our travel plans changed and we returned to Bastia a day earlier than expected, we decided to book an additional night. However, with separate reservations, we were hoping to avoid the hassle of switching rooms and having to check in and out. Exhausted and a bit on edge, we arrived at the hotel — and that's when Rares stepped in. He quickly understood the situation, managed to secure the same room for the entire stay, and followed up over the next few days to ensure everything went smoothly. His professionalism and attentiveness truly made a difference; he is a real asset to the hotel. We highly recommend staying here. After enjoying delicious meals in the city center and by the port, we didn't mind the uphill walk back — it was a perfect way to end the evenings.

We enjoyed our stay here. One of the reasons for picking it was the easy and secure onsite car parking, but that did mean we were situated a longer walk from the port and old town than we might otherwise have preferred (but we knew that when we booked it). That aside, the hotel itself is good quality, with an imaginative and refreshing decor, nicely furnished and friendly staff. We were upgraded to a large room on the 4th floor with a huge balcony with views of the town and sea so were very happy with that. Although the hotel is positioned by a busy junction, there was no disturbance from the traffic. All in all, a good hotel at a reasonable price.

"Really excellent hotel"

We stayed one night and were very impressed by this hotel, especially as it is a 3* establishment. I've rarely had such a consistently excellent experience even in 4 & 5 star hotels. We had a welcome email before checking to check our room preferences, all of which were met. The hotel seems almost new, decor etc to a high standard throughout and our room was very quiet. Staff were consistently lovely and very helpful. We hadn't planned to have dinner at the hotel but there was a severe rainstorm so we couldn't go out. Food and service were excellent. Breakfast was outstanding. There is a small parking garage for €8 per night, well worth it as the nearby street parking gets full. Be aware hotel is at the top of a hill - it's only 20-25mins walk to centre of the city but it's steeply uphill on the return. 20-25 min drive to the airport. Highly recommended

The hotel was pleasant, rooms good and staff helpful. However the bar wasn't well stocked, no gin, and food offered at breakfast and evenings was uninspired, basic. As a result we ate elsewhere for 8 of our 9 day stay.

"Unprofessional Staff – Booking Cancelled 24h Before Arrival"

I am a Best Western Gold loyalty member, and I have never experienced such an unprofessional situation in any hotel. My booking (via Booking.com, Best Western Montecristo-Bastia, 16–17 August 2025) was cancelled 24 hours before arrival. The reception contacted me by phone asking for my email to send an external payment link. I insisted that I had already provided all required details through the official Best Western e-concierge system. At first they denied receiving any messages, but later Pier-Luis admitted they had simply missed them. Still, he told me that “anyway it is too late, we already have no rooms left.” The interaction with Pier-Luis was very unpleasant, defensive, and dismissive. What frustrates me even more is that the reception seems very active in replying to online reviews about this cancellation but not in actually resolving the issue when it mattered. This was the first time in my long experience with Best Western that a reservation was cancelled in such a way, and I was forced to book last-minute at another chain. I sincerely hope Best Western will take action, because this type of treatment damages the reputation of the brand. My advice: avoid this hotel, even if you have had good experiences with other Best Western properties

"Three star hotel with five star customer service."

A three star hotel with five star staff. Yes it's a chain hotel. Yes it at the top of a hill - but then Bastia is all hilly. But the staff and their enthusiasm just lifts this experience. They greet you with a warm smile , they'll give you their best, they'll go the extra mile just because they care. This was our pre go home hotel after a stay in a five star resort hotel and to be honest I'd lift the entire team from here to there. The room was clean and spacious - the air conditioning a little weak for the space but it was good value all round. This is an unpretentious hotel that delivers old school customer service. Others should send their staff here to see how it should be done.

Very pleasant Hotel with friendly professional caring Staff! We had a lovely room with an excellent En-suite with a very good Shower ! The Towels and Bedding were changed frequently. Breakfast was plentiful with Fresh Fruit, Continental breakfast and also cooked items. If we were in Bastia again we would not hesitate to stay at the Best Western Hotel 👍and hope that the lovely lady serving at Breakfast is still there plus the great Staff on Reception!

"Good modern hotel near the centre"

Very good overall. Pros - Easy access by car - Secure parking (€5 per night- book in advance). Not all spaces are in the indoor garage. Although we'd booked parking in advance we were told the garage was full and were given a place in the outdoor car park. - Clean and modern. Nice bathroom and good towels. Cons - A bit of a hike on foot to and from the centre with a steep hill on the way back. It's also a tedious walk past government buildings rather than a scenic stroll. - Not much storage for clothes in the room like shelves and drawers. - The bedding is too heavy and warm for the summer even with the aircon going.

"Great location and Staff"

Great easy access underground carpark. Ideal for motorbike or cars. Roomy restaurant, good food, and terrace. All staff friendly and helpful. Near enough port so handy arriving by and leaving by ferry. Booked in for one night stayed two and then a further night when we were leaving Corsica. I wouldn't even bother looking for an alternative in the future.
