Hotel Schweizerhof Zurich was very conveniently located across from Zurich HB. The escalator down the Zurich HB was just around the corner of the hotel. The hotel was very well maintained with great decor. The Best of Switzerland tours meeting point was about 8 minutes walk from the hotel. The bell boy and all the front desk staff were pleasant and always ready to help in sharing great information. Leonardo, Carlos, and Jorge provided very high customer service and they were very pleasant and friendly to deal with. The front desk staff always greeted us with great smiles. The breakfast team did an outstanding job and they had superb teamwork. They went the extra mile to ensure all guests had a fantastic breakfast experience. Their service was very prompt, courteous, friendly, and with great smiles. Mr. Sunshine, Chisako, Sara, Romy, and Nadine all did an outstanding job during our two weeks stay at the hotel. Their teamwork were truly exemplary. Their hard work and attention to details were absolutely amazing. We felt like home whenever we stepped into the breakfast room. They made us feel so welcomed. The food variety was great and very fresh. The egg white omelette were nicely made. The dinner team at La Soupiere was great. Mike (or Michael) was our server for the several dinners we had at the restaurant. The food quality was very high and the fish was cooked to perfection. Mike was very engaged, energetic, pleasant, and very friendly. The atmosphere was nice and cozy for a fine dining experience. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job in keeping the room neat, clean, and well stocked. Mia plus other staff did a great job in keeping our room in great shape. The butler service was great. We enjoyed the yogurt from the butler cart. We greatly enjoyed our Dufour Junior Suite and the room was very soundproof. We each had our bathroom to use and it made our tour preparation went very smoothly. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Zurich and we will definitely return!!

I used to stay at this hotel regularly 15 years ago and it is still great. We had a fabulous room, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is great.

Lovely hotel in a convenient location. I have stayed here a couple of times, the rooms are lovely and a good size. The staff are great and I can't thank the staff enough for helping me locate a bag I left in a taxi. The team were great, responsive and communicative. Thanks team and look forward to staying again.

Very convenient due to its location nearby the train station. We had dinner at La Soupiere. The food, wine, and service were excellent. The hotel is a bit on the expensive side but I would stay there again.

Amazing breakfast with huge variety of food as well as extra menu to order from. Coffee was so good. Excellent service staff especially Laura at the breakfast buffet!

Washroom sink was fully clogged. Didn't get fixed until the day after. Shower smelled like sewage. Nothing was offered to compensate nor has there been a simple follow up following resolution of the problem. Accused of using minibar upon checkout even though nothing was used.

This hotel is in a prime location, directly across the street from the central train station, Zurich HB and one block from the main shopping street. I was given a complimentary upgrade to a two-room suite, with balcony. The welcome gift included fruit and chocolates! The living room had a nice sofa, large desk, and minibar. The bedroom had two closets, and the bed adjusted up or down if you would like to read in bed. The bathroom had a large assortment of small toiletries, which is becoming rarer today, especially in U.S. hotels. They offer turndown service, and afterward a chocolate cart arrives. The room was noisy at night if you left the windows open, due to all the bars and restaurants in the area. However, it was so warm all week in Zurich, we kept the windows closed, and the A/C on. The staff was excellent, from check-in until check-out. Staying at this hotel, you are within 15 minutes of the airport, the waterfront and countless shops and museums. I cannot recommend this hotel enough for those visiting Zurich for business or pleasure. It is truly a gem.

AWFUL hotel and experience. I don't know how they got upgraded to 5 stars. This hotel is definitely in the range of 3 stars maybe 4 on good day. I was upgraded to a junior suite and it was awful. I would hate to see what a regular room looks like.

The Schweizerhof is a comfortable hotel situated next to the the Zürich main railway station. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly. Breakfast bread and croissants a bit stale.

Straight out of the station to the front of the hotel. Staff took over our luggage and while checking in we were offered wine or orange juice. Staff were incredible and professional. We never had breakfast but did have dinner. The meal was as opulent as it was delicious, the staff once again made us feel special and the knowledge of the young waiters on wine, beer and food was excellent. We were given an upgrade to a Junior Suite with two bathrooms which made getting ready so easy. Bar staff were friendly and talkative and made a simple afternoon drink a pleasure. Chocolates on our pillows each night to the Butler with the complimentary snacks at 9pm made a lovely touch and once again sets the bar for other hotels. From check in to check out I have nothing but praise for this hotel and the staff.

We chose this hotel because of its convenient location: we were on our way to Basel after landing at Zurich airport. We caught the train from the airport to Zurich HB (7.50 euros) : after walking through the station following the signs to Bahnhofstrasse, we came up the escalator and it was magically right there. The front desk staff were kind and efficient. Even though we arrived at 9 am they were able to find us a room by 9:30 am. Our room was roomy and quiet, even though we faced the station. It also had nice touches like an adjustable bed, fresh fruit, and even a few chocolates. We did not buy their breakfast: instead we ate in the cafe, which had lovely pastries, omelets, etc. The cafe was more of an authentic Swiss experience as it was frequented by locals. It was a lovely walk 15 minute walk down Bahnhofstrasse to the lake, though with all the luxury shops it was also a test of our will-power. When we left the next day the doorman (Antonio) helped us with our bags all the way to the train station entrance. Choose this hotel if you like upscale rooms, service, and convenience: you will not be disappointed.

Excellent location: Located just across from Zurich main train station. Friendly and caring staff: Smiles everywhere with genuine care. Very comfy rooms: Lots of pillows and amentities. The adjustable bed was so cozy. Wonderful food: The main restaurant was closed Monday night. Had it not been closed I would have enjoyed their Veal Zurich style. Ok then I will have it when I am there again in Oct 2026. The breakfast buffet offers MANY choices....guaranteed to fill you to satisfaction.

My family and I stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time! The staff are so kind and courteous. We had young children with us and they took care of every possible request that we had. For example, they regularly got us milk for the baby whenever we needed. The thing that touched us most is that when we were leaving to the train station, the staff offered to help us with our luggage. They actually took our luggage for us to the train station and made sure we were settled before seeing us off. They really went out of their way to make us comfortable. Incredible!
This hotel is not only classy but has all the necessary items to make your Zurich stay a good one. Firstly, its location( for a hotel this standard) is just excellent. One can travel basically anywhere in Zurich by trams( its stops are just a stone throw away) and travel to anywhere in Switzerland by using trains at the Zurich Main Station which is just across the street. Secondly its staff are very well trained, polite and helpful. Thirdly, it looks into the needs of the disabled as far as its facilities are concerned.I would definitely come to this hotel again should I revisit Zurich

Hotel Schweizerhof is an elegant old world hotel with a Michelin star restaurant and friendly bar on property. The service is wonderful. A butler stops by every night to offer complimentary treats. Fresh fruit is replenished in our room frequently. The breakfast in La Soupiere is wonderful and includes high end champagne. The staff has a smiling “can do” attitude that is refreshing is Switzerland. The staff is the highlight of the hotel. But our cost was about $950/night including breakfast. The experience is not worth the exorbitant rate. The rooms are smaller than 300 square feet. The gym is so small, it can only handle three people before they are stepping over each other. No pool. No spa. If you have money to burn, definitely consider this opulent experience. I'm probably one and done because of the price.

The entire team was awesome, very kind and cooperative with warmth. Special mention of Mr Jonathan at reception who went out of the way to help us celebrate our 100th country on visit to Liechtenstein. We requested for a print out saying 100 countries. Not only he made it but motives and then he added two champagne glasses, a champagne bottle and a box of Confetti. On departure the team offered and then the Conceirge escorted is all the way till train station with our baggage. We really enjoyed our stay here. Everyone throughout the hotel was friendly and helpful. The front desk was especially great in assisting with dining reservations. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had all the thoughtful touches you would expect from a hotel at this level. We did have an issue with the rain shower not working. I mentioned it just so it could be addressed at some point and made it clear it was not a big deal. When I returned, they recognized me immediately and let me know they had attempted a fix but needed a part. They also offered to move us to another room, which I declined. Despite that, they went above and beyond. When we came back later that evening, they had left a bottle of champagne and strawberries in the room along with another apology. It was not necessary, but it was a great example of how much they genuinely care about their guests. Things happen at any hotel. What matters is how they respond, and they handled it exceptionally well. The nightly chocolate cart is a fun and unique touch that we have not seen elsewhere. It is almost worth staying in the room so you do not miss it. Breakfast was just average and did not quite match the overall level of the hotel, especially for the price. Overall pricing is on the higher end, but it feels appropriate for a special occasion or splurge.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Zurich and had a mixed experience. The positives are definitely there: the property is beautifully designed, the location is super convenient, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. However, our room was quite a letdown. It was essentially two single rooms combined into one. Because of this makeshift layout, it had a huge, awkward wall right in the middle and two separate bathrooms. Instead of feeling like a larger room, that middle wall made the space feel cramped and actually less spacious than a standard single room. Additionally, the breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing, as the choices were quite narrow. Overall, it's a nice place with great people, but I'd definitely double-check the room floorplan before booking again.

Despite reserving months in advance, when we checked in late at night after a long trans-Atlantic journey, we were placed in a room adjacent to one undergoing heavy construction, with constant drilling noise throughout the day. The hallway was covered in construction paper. We weren't warned of this when we checked in, we were just told that our water would be shut off one night. This certainly wasn't what we expected from a highly rated and expensive hotel.
We stayed at Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich for one night with my husband and our 21-year-old daughter before catching a train the next morning—and it was the perfect start to our Switzerland adventure. The location truly cannot be beat. Situated directly across from the main train station, it made our early departure seamless and stress-free. What made it even more special was that a bellman personally escorted us all the way to the train platform the next morning. That level of care and attention is rare and so appreciated. Our room was absolutely gorgeous—beautifully appointed, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Everything felt pristine and welcoming. It was such a cozy, elegant place to land after travel. We also enjoyed time in the café, which was delicious. Wonderful coffee, lovely atmosphere, and the kind of place you want to linger just a little longer. Though our stay was short, the hospitality left a lasting impression. Highly, highly recommend Hotel Schweizerhof Zürich for both its charm and its exceptional service.

Being situated right at the train station and at the corner of Zurich's most prestigious shopping street, the hotel could not be in a better location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you for finding us a table at a great and very popular Chinese restaurant. We liked our corner room which felt much more spacious than size advertised. The hotel could use a renovation though. Everything feels a bit out of date and at the price point that should not really be the case. An updated interior design would do a lot to make the room rates more palatable. It is expensive for what it is, but we can see ourselves coming back, because everything else is really good - and it is not like other hotels in the same category are any cheaper in Zurich. Nobody ever said a Switzerland holiday was cheap.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Hotel Schweizerhof and had a wonderful experience. We came at odd hours, checked in and out, left our luggage in storage and the hotel staff was very accommodating. This year, we spent our family vacation in Zurich and stayed at the Hotel Schweizerhof Zurich for four nights. The hotel's location is unbeatable. My mom was Swiss and she always said "stay near the train station and you will see why". WOW was she right. We only had one night at Hotel Schweizerhof. We picked the hotel because of the location to the train station. We were flying home the following morning, and wanted a nice and convenient location prior to returning home from our trip. This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The windows were soundproof and blocked out sounds from the trains and trams outside. The blackout curtains were perfect. And the breakfast before we departed was the best breakfast we had across our two weeks in Europe.

Incredible hotel! The hotel is located right next to the train station, which was extremely convenient. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the rooms were amazing! Only minor complaint was the carpet in the room (can feel gross in a hotel) but other than that, no complaints!

This is a friendly boutique hotel opposite the train station. Rooms were immaculate and the staff were super-friendly and helpful. We arrived early but they were very happy to look after our luggage and gave us some sightseeing tips. Not the cheapest give the location but highly recommended.

The service was excellent, rooms were big and the beds were soft , with fluffy covers and the bed actually had a lift so you could sit up in bed w coffee in the morning! Really a nice place. In spite of very good sound measures you still hear the tram at night which runs 24 / 7.. turn your iPhone on w some fan noise to drown that out.. For a pricey hotel 700+ CHF this is something they should have covered.

A beautiful hotel in an amazing location. What more would you want? The complimentary breakfast buffet is delicious and the hotel is within walking distance to many places for lunch, dinner, and sightseeing. The hotel also offers a restaurant. We enjoyed conversation with the bartender after dinner. Waking up to an early flight was a breeze by taking the train from the HB to the Zurich Airport. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and knocked on our door to ask if we needed anything. They dropped off two extra pillows promptly. We arrived early in the morning. The hotel held our bags and had our room ready at 2 PM. The hotel is located directly across the street from the main entrance to the HB (Main Train Station), is centrally located and it is easy to walk to Old Town and shopping. We climbed the Grossmunster (church tower) for the view and walked by the water. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you are flying in and out of Zurich and need a place to stay.

We four were destined to board a Scenic cruise ship on the Rhein River and we stayed 2 nights here beforehand. This hotel is ultra luxurious and very old world. The included breakfasts were very scrumptous and held in a very formal dining room. The accomodation room that we had was obviously renovated many times since the hotel was built....likely about a hundred years ago. The furniture was ancient looking, likely French Provincial style, and the floor was carpeted. The 2 room washroom was interesting. One room had a sink and a fantastic shower; the 2nd room was a tiny one with a toilet and a small sink. That room was a bit tight for me, as I am 6ft tall. The lighting and the air conditioning was very good. The bellhop was a bit pushy, insisting on taking our luggage up to our room, but I took it myself. One funny thing: The elevator could only hold about 3 people. All in all, this hotel made you feel "old world Europe". The location downtown was convenient and very close to a bus station, and the main train station was across the street. Many cafes and bars and restaurants are very short walking distance. Would I stay there again? Maybe. I believe the daily fee is a bit high, but it was downtown Zurich, and right in the heart of tourist area.

Great location before the rail station and closed to the city center, cleanliness and comfort. Nice breakfast room and attentive staff. Good breakfast also a la carte!

We booked a few days here ahead of our chosen river cruise. It was expensive, as everything in Zurich is, especially with the AUD as low as it is…but what a beautiful hotel. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast room, meals and staff just lovely and the desk staff were super friendly and extremely helpful. We ate in the cosy Hotel bar twice and found the barman a delight, and the meals quite good. Drinks and meals no more expensive than anywhere outside and just as good. Overall a positive experience, and a great stay close to everything, even a supermarket and close to other eateries.

The room was very comfortable, and the location was fantastic. However, the price was a bit high, and the breakfast variety was limited.

The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel location was perfect because I do like to do tours as well as explore independently, which I was able to do. The railroad and tours are nearby. There is also nearby shopping, restaurants, and sights to see. The room was nice and my dog also liked it. 👍 Thank you.

Excellent hotel, impeccable service and perfect central location: literally at the top of the escalator from the Bahnhof, at the corner of Bahnhofstrasse, and within ten minutes' walk from everything in the old town. Would absolutely stay here again. They don't really do the full “chocolate butler” thing anymore, but maid service brings goodies :)

Good centrally located hotel opposite the station, excellent service and superb breakfast, but the size of the room and bathroom was very small and a big disappointment for a repeat guest.

Spent two nights at the hotel en route to, and returning from Rome. Reception was great and most welcoming. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and with all necessities for the stay. The food in the restaurant was also amazing with excellent service. This was a great choice having nerd stayed there before.

Stayed 2 days midweek and 1 Sat night about 2 weeks later. Great location opposite Zurich main station and top of the main street. Beautiful historic building. A very high class hotel, with all the expected comforts and very high level of service. Buffet breakfast a bit limited and cafe can be crowded.

Could not beat the location opposite the Zurich Station, best for day trips to Lucerne & Basel for us. There was no Concierge at the door to help with luggage though. We needed to go inside to ask for help. On arrival, we were offered welcome drinks & towel, which was the only one out of the 3 hotels we visited in Switzerland. Need to enter the Hotel with card after hour, which made us feel safe despite it's close to Station. Room size was good but we did not have any view in the room. Amenities were classic, with added touch like eye cream & night cream samples, water, & fresh fruit & small chocolate. House-keeping was professional, though it would have been even better should slippers be replenished during our 3-night stay. We chose the option to include breakfast, which was sumptuous, delicious & service was very good. The Hotel gave us a CHF35 coupon. It's our fault all 4 of us did not read properly & thought it included drinks, but the coupon only offered 10% off drinks. So be aware! Overall, had an enjoyable stay. Would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel.

Great location steps away from the main train station. Easy walk to Old Town and amazing shops and restaurants. Outstanding service, probably the best service I have ever experienced at a hotel. Rooms are very clean. Excellent food at the cafe in the hotel, and very good breakfast. Lots of little touches like fruit and chocolate in the room that makes it feel special. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Zurich.
