« Great value for your money »

Amazing location, great view of the river, great staff and service. Rooms were very clean, internet was great. Breakfast was great every morning which is part of your hotel charge. Would definitely stay again.

« Great View Of the river »

Traveling on Business great hotel and location , wow what a view of the river and all activities on the waterfront . I always stay at this hotel in Windsor , a short walk to Casino and restaurants, a great breakfast included downstairs parking close .

« Overpriced for the experience »

The king "suite" is not a King suite, it's more like a basic room that cost 3x the amount. The pullout couch had no bedding and we had to call down 3 times to get it. Breakfast was ok, but 90% of the diners eating were asking for bacon on the Saturday and Sunday they still didn't have any. No bacon? Really? The bathroom floor was dirty, the rooms are dark, but the view is nice. The front desk let MY guests pay partial of my bill (isn't that confidential info?)

    « Never going back »

I went with my kiddos to have a bit of fun because winter has been so long. Our stay was fun and comfortable, but don't dare talk to your neighbours...the housekeeping staff was all mixed up with thier facts and I was charged for smoking in my room! I did not smoke in my room but my neighbour did! Its ridiculous that they can just simply charge anyone they like without any evidence.

« Spoil the Parents Stay »

Overnight stay at the hotel which included Capital Theatre production - Dreamgirls (Windsor ACT organization)!!! Our stay was very comfortable, including panoramic views of the Detroit River - waterfront. Hotel staff were very helpful. Breakfast service was appreciated!!

    « Nice except elevators »

I stayed one night. Room is nicer and larger than you'd expect for a Best Western. Included breakfast is good. My room had nice view of Detroit skyline. Only negative was elevators. They shook and could become a slow milk run. I feared they would stop and took stairs to go down.

    3
    « Easterns weekend ... »

Staff friendly, room service was excellent - they need to improve on their breakfast - the eggs tasted powdery and dry and the muffins were oily. The elevators took too long to service even though there were 3 available.

    « Amazing hotel! »

We took our young toddlers here for a weekend and we were so impressed by the hospitality in the hotel! The rooms were clean and renovated. I never sleep well in hotels but I did sleep well here, the mattress is really comfortable! The staff was incredible, they went over and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for us and for our children. The breakfast was great- lots of choices and everything was tasty. Loved the cookies at the Front Desk in the evening. The pool was really nice and the views were incredible. Thank you, Best Western!

« Amazing hotel with great views »

The hotel was amazing. The views were of the Detroit side. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The breakfast was fresh and the staff was efficient. It was really well stocked and had lots of choice. A great place to stay!

    « Very nice »

Great location, beautiful views from room. The room needs some updating but it is clean and very comfortable. Breakfast included is good, it includes the basics like eggs, toast, cereal, yogurt, etc... Friendly staff.

    « Windsor hotel is a gem »

I styay in town a couple of night a year ... I sleep so well in the beds - they are so comfortable and then I get to have a FULL breakfast. I stay at a number of different BW hotels... this one is my favorite!

    « Good Stay »

Stayed the weekend at the best Western in Windsor for a basketball tournament. Overall we had a good stay, no major complaints. Good value for the money. I would recommend this hotel to others. Wish the parking was closer to the actual hotel, but still wasn't too bad overall.

    5
    « Fantastic view »

Loved this hotel! The staff at the front desk were efficient and very pleasant. The room was exactly as pictured and the panoramic view was spectacular!! If the room had been available for a second night I would have stayed longer. There was a hockey tournament on when I stayed, so I didn't get to try the complimentary breakfast (chaotic with kids) but it certainly smelled good! Parking, while not part of the hotel was easy to access and inexpensive compared to other hotels. Will definitely be back!!

    « Best View »

Because it was our first time in Canada, we were upgraded for a more enjoyable experience. Staff was very friendly and always available. I would definitely return in the Summer as suggested for an even better experience there.

« gorgeous view of the river »

Best Western has taken over the former Hilton property, and updated, and upgraded the facility the staff were gracious and very helpful The room was large with a fabulous view of the Detroit River, and Detroit itself. It was even more beautiful at night

« A comfortable nice place to stay »

This hotel has been renovated. Spacious lobby. Rooms updated. We got a room on the top 22nd floor facing the river and the US border, what an awesome view! Left the drapes open at night to appreciate the amazing lights and the riverside view. Room was clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Though space was a bit tight between the desk and the bed, the chair was already touching the edge of the bed, but it just worked fine for us, my husband didn't mind standing up to make room for me to pass behind him. Hot buffet breakfast was included with a variety of options. Though their sausage and bacon tasted different, had an aftertaste. There were fruits but apples were turning soft, must have been there for a while now. Servers were efficient and quick to clear tables and replenish food. There was only one functioning elevator (of the three), that busy Monday morning, so it took a while before we could get down. Parking was free for guests at the parkade behind the hotel. The one thing I would suggest is for better signage at the hotel front. They have an existing one but was blocked by all the taxis parked upfront, so we easily missed the hotel. Their logo was on the top floor and could be visible from afar and not when you're in front of the hotel. But overall, we've chosen this hotel as our 'home' whenever we're in town for business.

    « FANTASTIC »

Our stay at this hotel was perfect from start to finish and we will definitely be returning. The entire staff was friendly, efficient and welcoming. The king suite was large and clean and comfortable with amazing views and a very comfortable bed. We walked easily to the casino and downtown. The biggest positive was the wonderful staff who listened to any request and made their guests feel important. A very busy hotel but still maintained a personal touch as they dealt with lots of people including couples, families, business meetings and sports teams. I look forward to returning.

    « Clean, friendly, convenient »

Nice rooms, very convenient and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and the chambermaid was pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Had a view of the river and Detroit. The pool was nice, work out room. Very good breakfast!

Great location.. Love the proximity to the Windsor International Training Aquatic Centre and all of the local restaurants. Staff are courteous and friendly. Nice clean room with all amenities. Nice view as well

    « A worthwhile visit... »

The hotel property is located conveniently at the edge of the beautiful riverfront in downtown Windsor, Ontario Canada. The Best Western Plus Waterfront Hotel puts you within steps of the neighborhood's diverse cuisine, vibrant nightlife and scenic, waterfront parks including the Adventure Bay Family Waterpark and the Caesars Windsor Casino. The accommodations offered a great view of the water and the downtown Detroit skyline as well as a pod coffee and tea maker, a mini-refrigerator, a fitness centre, a business centre and a large saltwater pool. Check-in was fairly quick, the staff was very pleasant and the facilities itself was fairly maintained. A hot breakfast buffet was included in my stay and it included a fair amount of choices. Parking was an added cost of C$15 and was located in a parking garage behind the hotel property across the street which was inconvenient especially after dark. Overall the hotel will offer a welcoming retreat for people visiting the city as it will meet both the executives' and urban explorers' needs.

    « Nice overnight stay »

Very comfortable beds, clean, quiet rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. My kids enjoyed the pool and husband enjoyed the fitness room. Breakfast could use a few more options, but was good otherwise. Overall great experience. We will be returning in the future.

« The best view that you can get from a room in Windsor (Panoramic View Rooms) »

Best western has been my go to choice for Windsor. I have also stayed at Caesar, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Best western is the best option if you want a great view from the room. The furniture and fixtures are not up to date however, the rooms are relatively large and roomy. The amenities are good, the pool is of a nice size and toiletries are wonderful too.

    5
« Super clean hotel with amazing staff. »

I stay here on average once a month for business. All the rooms face the river and Detroit and gives one of the greatest views ever at night. Walking distance to the casino, restaurants and the riverside park. The rooms are clean and the staff is amazing. The bar is nice at night and the bartenders are always very easy to talk to.

    5
    « March Break Stay »

Great stay, nice view of the Detroit river and the city. The family enjoyed the free breakfast buffet. Nice Decor - great layout. comfortable bed. We would recommend to all and would choose this hotel when visiting Windsor again.

« Great Place for Business or Relaxation »

I'm pretty much a regular here, on a weekly basis. The staff is helpful and always trying to make my stay better. The rooms are quite good, but basically a high line of business class. Beds are comfortable and the rooms tastefully decorated. Flat screens and functional a/c units (and ones that don't buzz or whine annoyingly) help show the level of maintenance done here. There can be some minor quirks, like long waits for hot water, and sometimes anaemic water flow, this depends on the floor or room. In terms of what's best value, if you are a BW card member, ask for a queen or king panorama room, maybe 15th floor or higher. The night time view is actually pretty cool, looking over the river and Detroit skyline. It would probably cost you an arm and a leg, but if you stay during fireworks night, the panorama rooms would probably feel like a IMAX theatre seat... Ok, good spot, good folks and decent place. Can't ask for more at some random hotel. Go for it.

    5
« Great stay at the waterfront »

Stayed there with a minor hockey team for 1 night. Speedy check-in, nice size room with a partial view of the Detroit skyline across the river, nice breakfast with large seating area, good-sized pool - nothing bad to say about this place, really. Recommend for those staying in downtown Windsor.

    5
    « Another great stay »

The staff at this hotel go beyond excellence stay. From the front desk to the housekeeper and the bartender every staff member this hotel was friendly kind and helpful. Anytime I come back to Windsor this will be the only hotel I will stay at

« Great location , and awesome View Of Detroit and the Ambassador Bridge »

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights last October. (Sorry just got around to writing this review now ) :/ The first room that we were given, did not have a very good view, and one could hear the ice machine, and elevators from it. There was no problem changing rooms. The second room had a nicer view, which included the Ambassador bridge. But we still had the hum of the ice machine ? in our room all day and night. It may have just been the floor we were on, not sure. The beds were quite comfy. It had a nice size TV , a bar fridge, and a safe to keep ones valuables in. There were a couple of wedding celebrations going on when we were there, so it was quite busy for the breakfast that was included with our room. This made the elevators quite slow at times, so it was better and faster for us to take the stairs. The breakfast was quite good, with a great combination of food items, not your average fast, cheap hotel breakfast. Pancakes, real bacon, eggs, bagels, toast, hash browns, cereal, fruit , yogurt , coffee , tea, and juice. The staff kept the food well stocked for the amount of guests that were coming into eat. The hotel is located right across from the beach, which was nice to take a stroll down. There is a local Art Museum close by, and many nice art sculptures to view along the beach. Its in good proximity to downtown where there are a variety of restaurants to eat at. Including my favorite " The Donair House " Quite casual, but has really good donair's. All in all we had a nice stay at this hotel, and would stay there again, just on a higher floor to avoid the sound of the ice machine.

« Was not the best stay, starting to get run down »

We stayed there for the Ofsaa swimming meet. Very busy location as it is right beside the pool which is why we stay there. The rooms are getting dated, there were holes in the walls all over the room and bathroom, we were kind of creeped out about it. The elevators are old and slow, but that could have been due to the number of teenagers staying at this hotel. I wasn't too happy with checkout as they charged my credit card twice, but I had that changed. The breakfast is awesome except we were harassed by the staff for our "coupons". We didn't have any as we were part of the Ofsaa group. The staff needs to get better training. The hotel was very quiet which was awesome, it must have been because of the swimmers staying there who had to get up early, so that was a big plus! Pretty view of the river

« Travelling for work has never been more comfortable! »

I have said it before, and I'll say it again, this hotel is a hidden gem in Windsor! There really isn't any need to stay anywhere else. You get all of the amenities of the ?casino hotel? which is conveniently down the street for half the cost! The renovations that they've done to the hotel is spot on. Plus, you get breakfast!! The staff is courteous and attentive, the beds are cozy, rooms are spacious and the views from the junior king bed suite across the river are so special. Travelling for work has never been so comfortable. It's also nice to have a small gym on site with new equipment - when I was there, it was like having my own little private gym as nobody else was there using it. I stay here almost once a month for work, having previously stayed at the ?casino hotel? and I have to say, I won't go back to ?the other guys?. It really is the ?Best of the Best Western's?!!

    « Beautiful spot »

My wife and I stayed here Feb. 15 and 16.Check-in was smooth, got a parking pass but didn't know there was a cost for it, $15/day. Parking directly behind hotel, come back in through the back door. Room was clean and there was a great view of the Detroit skyline. Only problem I had with the room was trying to adjust the water temp on the basin faucet, not much pressure either. Shower was fine though. Had a drink in the lounge bar, Audrey is top notch Breakfast had a lot to offer, the manager even got us a coffee, enjoyed her very much. Three blocks to casino, restaurants close by. Would like to go back in summer when everything is green and the flowers are out.

    3
« Beautiful hotel but scary incidents in back parking lot »

The one issue with this location is the amount of pan handlers in the parking lot. Including the fact that they were coming in through the back door and pan handling customers of the hotel. The staff was aware since we had a severe issue prior to checking in, but it didn't stop the pan handlers from still bothering people for money.

    5
    « Little Vacation »

Beautiful hotel, beautiful view from the 19th floor. Staff was great, very helpful with places to visit and eat. Breakfast was good. If you are staying more than 1 night, you have to ask the front desk for another breakfast voucher, they will no worries. They also have a bar, which is a great touch for the evening. Casino a few blocks away as well. Several places to eat near by. The only thing, if you are driving, they charge a $15 per night at the garage behind the building. But the garage seems to charge $8. If the hotel is going to charge $15, at least 1 night should be free. In all, I enjoyed my stay.

    5
    « Always great staff. »

Rooms are nice and clean with a great view of the river Detroit skyline. Would highly recommend this place. Have stayed here a few times and never disappointed. Will be back for the fireworks in June.

    « So thankful »

Stay was amazing in my time of need as my husband was in the hospital I would love to bring my husband back to the hotel for a pleasure visit. Room was clean, panoramic view of Detroit city it was amazing

« Last night of a long trip »

This hotel was lovely, the views from our window amazing..and although it was very, very busy ..our room was quite quiet...I would indeed stay there again. I t was a short walk to the casino. Across the street was a waterfront park and gardens

    3
« Clean, and great location »

Visited here for a show with friends at Ceasars Palace. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. View great, location perfect. Three stars would be that they gave us the riot act during check-in which I felt was unnecessary given we were older young adults and were not going to do any damage, etc. I guess they must have issues with adolescents. In addition to that, I didn't love the parking situation or the fact that some hotels give free parking and they charge for it, even with the premium of the BWP name. Overall, I would stay again for the location as it was great proximity to the casino.

    5
    « Exceeded my expectations »

The hotel I normally stay at in Windsor was sold out, so I decided to give this one a try and was very pleasantly surprised. To check in you can either pull up out front of the hotel, or use the lot directly behind. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and friendly and quickly checked me in. My room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous view of the Detroit skyline. There was a coffee maker and a mini-fridge in the room as well as a flat screen TV, a desk and a comfy chair by the window. The toiletries in the bathroom are similar to Bath and Body products. The pool is warm and a good size and the gym equipment faces the river and is just off to the end of the pool area. In the evenings, I noticed that they have bar service in the dining area just off the lobby. Buffet breakfast seating is in the same area and was your typical hotel buffet breakfast - waffle maker, eggs, bacon or sausage, home fries, pastries, oatmeal, muffins, cereal, etc. Breakfast staff are also attentive and friendly. The only downfall of this hotel is the lack of onsite parking. You have to park in the parking garage behind the hotel across the street for a charge, but you do get in and out privileges. There is a back entrance to the hotel when entering from the lot side so you do not have to walk all the way around. Valet service would be a great addition.

    5
    « Amazing view »

The room was perfect, clean modern decor and breath taking view. I will definitely be staying at this location again, service was great. The view of Detroit city was breathtaking. The only down fault is if your driving a service vehicle you have to park a couple of blocks away but worth it.

    4
    « Excellent hotel »

The hotel has beautiful views from the rooms. The rooms were nicely upgraded and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good for a continental breakfast. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel directly. The only problem was there is no stores to pick up things close by and the restaurants are limited in the area, so I would recommend renting a car. I would give this a 4.5 if I could as it was a very nice hotel.

  • 5
    « Refreshing »

Front desk staff very efficient. Room was clean and very comfortable with great views of Detroit. Close to restaurants and casino. The included breakfast is well stocked from scrambled eggs, omelettes, bacon, ham, sausages with many pastries and even a make your own waffle station. The breakfast staff were very pleasant and efficient. Pool area is nice and clean. The lobby bar was nice for a night cap.

    3
    « Cheap and clean »

The place was clean and cheap enough for one night, not the Ritz but that's not what I was looking for anyways. Appeared like a lot of people working in the area stayed there. I felt safe enough as I was by myself.

    4
« We were in town last week for my dad's funeral. It was a wonderful place that lifted our spirits. »

We were in Room 1307, which had a wonderful view of the river, Dieppe Park, and Riverside Drive East. The breakfasts included were a real treat: we left each day with a full stomach and no worries about having to grab any other foods. The ladies who work the eating area were warm and welcoming, even at 6:30 am when my eyes were barely open....My wife used the weight room and the swimming pool. Both areas were immaculately clean, and again had a huge window looking out on Detroit. Our room was impeccable both for comfort and cleanliness.

« Home away from home.... »

As always, an awesome place to stay, friendly staff at front desk, clean room. Everyone we come to Windsor, this is where we stay... close to everything including the casino, waterfront, restaurants and bars. Love this place !!! Recommend the corner room with an awesome view.

    4
    « amazing views »

the suites are a pleasure the view of detroit is worth the price of the room. i have no idea what the other rooms are like . parking is a bit of a problem, but i would come back here anytime. i have no idea about the other amenities.

    5
    « Amazing View »

I rented the king suite with the panoramic view of the city line. It was absolutely breathtaking at sunset and sunrise! The bathroom was also beautiful and the bed was super comfy, as were the pillows! LOVED this hotel, especially because of the price!

    5
    « Excellent Stay »

Hotel was nice breakfast and breakfast attendants were wonderful. Pool was nice comfortable sitting area, Internet never experiences such good internet connection at a hotel stay! Will definitely recommend and come back!

    « Love the View! »

Had the partial river view and really enjoyed that. The panoramic rooms must be amazing! The pool area is very nice and the fitness room has a view of the river. The breakfast was much more than I expected. Overall, a great place to stay in Windsor.

    5
« Best value and service »

Nothing bad to say about this hotel. Was upgraded for free without asking, breakfast was terrific, bed comfortable. Shower worked well. Only negative, they charged $15 for parking and it was in a open garage across the street.

    5
« Great view of downtown Detroit! »

The hotel was great! It had great views of downtown Detroit. It was close to a number of great restaurants. The free breakfast was satisfactory. The staff was great! The only inconvenience was the location of the parking lot.

  • 5
« Great place to stay and close to the boarder! Breakfast buffet was amazing and there was tons of options ! »

Great place to stay and close to the boarder ! Breakfast was great and view of the river from the top floor was pretty cool! The Keg is a quick walk away ! Overall great convenient place to stay :) !!!!

    « Great hotel »

Amazing hotel great staff, really helpful great location. View was to die for. Casino really close easy walk to it. Easy access to parking. Breakfast as good. What I liked the most was feeling safe in the property.

    5
« Close to everything! Very accomodating! »

Stayed here during a music festival. Awesome views of Detroit. Staff very helpful and polite. Hotel is clean and easily accessible. Stay included breakfast, lots of items to choose from and this hotel has the best Belgian waffle maker! The bus station is right across allowing easy access to Windsor-Detroit shuttle bus. Many food places around, close to Casino and generally felt safe around the area late at night. Will stay here again in the future.

    5
    « accommodating »

The staff was very accommodating. I called the toll free number and expressly requested a room that was non smoking and also where no pets were allowed. At check in the girl informed me ALL rooms were pet friendly! I was livid to say the least. If I wanted to sleep in a dogs bed I would have went to a friends who had a dog and slept in its bed.. The desk girl was very helpful and after searching room history. assured me no pets had slept in the room bed for at least a month. I stayed because of her kindness and professionalism, also it was a cold and snowy night. Also was informed at check-in of a 15$ parking fee. Again I was not pleased about this lack of information offered me on the phone but the desk girl cleared it up. It is doubtful I would stay here again because of the absence of non pet rooms.

    5
    « Best view ever!!! »

I would recommend the riverfront view to anyone who loves an excellent view The hotel was more than I thought it would be. Peaceful relaxing stay. Would recommend and will be staying here again in the near future.

    5
« One of the Best Westerns »

This is one of the Best Westerns that we've visited, with wonderful views of the river and the city of Detroit beyond. Our king bed room was large and well appointed. Breakfast is good: fresh fruit, eggs, juice and a variety of baked goods. WiFi was serviceable for email and browsing. No on-site parking. The hotel direct guests arrivig by automobile to the parking garage on the next street, and adds $15 to your room bill for in/out self-parking. If you were to pay the garage directly, you'd pay $8/day.

    4
« Pet friendly and well kept »

We brought our dog to Windsor for the holidays and our folks have cats so we were fortunate to find a nice hotel with a positive pet policy. Staff was friendly and responsive, rooms were clean and the breakfast is well done for a complimentary option. We'll stay here again.

    4
    « Excellent Location »

We loved our suite that overlooked the Detroit River. The river view at night was especially beautiful. The free breakfast was very good and no shortage of food. The staff were friendly and courteous. The building and the rooms have all been upgraded and look very modern. I thought the price of the room was high considering the time of the year.

    3
« OK hotel, poor parking »

The hotel itself was average, no complaints. The only real issue I had was the parking. I couldn't find information on where to park before my arrival. There is a parking garage that you have to pay $15/day to park at. My husband and I met there so had to pay for both vehicles

    5
    « Excellent area hotel »

This hotel is an excellent place to stay in this area. It is a clean, non-smoking hotel which is well appointed. The staff is of very high quality. If attending a concert or event at the Colosseum, this is a great stay as an alternative to the very busy and noisy casino hotel. And the rooms do NOT smell like someone smoked in them. By the way, the beds and pillows are the best.

    « A NIght in Windsor »

My partner and I got a weekend away to see the new Star Wars film. This hotel was recommended by several of my colleagues that live in Windsor; they've had friends and family from out of town stay there. Little did I know that their recommendation would lead us to having a great rest, fabulous experiences in another country just across the Detroit River, and the opportunity to feel safe, valued, and cared for at a hotel, least of all a chain one. I will highly recommend this location as well as suggest it to friends looking for a close, fun, and affordable getaway, and I'll be back!

    5
« Great place to stay home away from home ! »

All around comfortable ! Home away from home Executive rooms a must Renovated and cozy compared to lower level rooms Nice location Great staff Always stay there as it's easy to check in and out fast as well!

    5
    « Great Views! »

Good location near waterfront that lent to beautiful views! Parking is behind hotel, so have to go outside. Also, elevators are dated, so they shake a little. Staff and rooms were great! Hotel is walking distance to Casino in good weather.

« Best property by far »

loved the view and easy access to the tunnel to detroit. Clean and the beds were comfortable breakfast buffet was awesome and so were the staff Great location to Detroit and very quiet on the waterfront

    « A surprisingly superb value »

A nice, clean hotel, excellent view of Detroit. Large room, comfortable bed, very nice and friendly staff. Breakfast included was far superior to other hotels. It had a great selection and tasty food, and the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Price was good. Very impressive!

« BW Name, Same Great Hotel »

I last stayed here when it was just called The Waterfront Hotel after the Hilton branding left. It was in the middle of a big renovation at that time back in 2014. Three years later and the place is great. The staff are friendly, the rooms were great. We had two rooms and all rooms look out to the Detroit River. The beds were so comfortable, a mini fridge, big bathroom. Very clean rooms and hallways. The breakfast buffet was fine, it served the purpose. The staff there were great. The only downfall here would be the slow elevators that is about it. Caesars Windsor is a 5 minute walk down the street and the Bus Terminal is a 2 minute walk out the back of the hotel so you can grab the Tunnel Bus to take across to Detroit. The Keg is literally a block away, so if you want to have a nice steak dinner and drinks there ya go. I will definitely stay here again when I am back to Windsor.

We loved staying at this hotel! We had a deluxe panoramic river view and the hotel is pet friendly which is fantastic! We enjoyed being close to the casino and downtown. Excellent hot breakfast buffet! Great walkways & park along the river-ideal for dog owners! We will be back.

this hotel has a great location downtown every room seems to have a view of the river. just steps to the casino, lots of places to eat near by and every style you can think of. large open lobby, easy parking behind the hotel in a garage. perfectly located to both the bridge and tunnel to Detroit.

Great place to stay for business clean rooms friendly helpful staff, hotel going through renovations but no issues with the property will be staying there for future business trips. The lobby bar is closed or at least that's what it appeared? No hours of service so somewhat confusing would prefer to have had the option to stay in at night after a busy day Close to downtown core and casino, waling distance to everywhere.

« Good hotel for business or pleasure »

I was very pleased with this hotel. Good amenities, nice pool and fitness centre, great complimentary breakfast, nice rooms, everything was clean. Parking was in an external garage, and was an extra fee. That was the only bugger. Everything else was very good.

spent two nights at the Hotel and found the stay exceptionally pleasant and would highly recommend this venue. I found all facets of our visit particularly satisfying. From staff to amenities i would rate A!.

« Hotel not bad parking not great »

The hotel itself is not bad but the parking situation is not great - you have to park across the street and haul your luggage to and from the parking garage which is not convenient and you get the privilege of paying $15 for this.

« Great hotel and wonderful staff »

The rooms are beautiful and the staff very friendly. I got a riverview room and the view was wonderful. Would definitely stay here again. The breakfast included is delicious. Waffles, eggs, sausage. Everything you could think of.

« Decent hotel for a short stay »

We were in Windsor to attend an event at the Casino. It was great located, easy access and we had a water front view from our room, just like the photos featured on the booking sites. The room was very big for one queen size bed, very clean and quiet. The decor was newly done, the washroom was a bit dated, but it is fine. Also the included breakfast was quick and decent food / coffee. The only I didn't like is the parking is not attached to the hotel building and difficult to find a parking at weekend nights, but not a deal breaker

    5
    « Excellent Hotel »

We attended a Commodore Ball & stayed at your hotel for the 1st time. From the moment we arrived we had an wonderful experience, greeted with a smile, helpful staff, comfortable beds, clean room, clean hotel, amazing food... overall we were very satisfied and would return in the future!

« Great Place to Stay When Attending a Concert »

Overall wonderful experience - great location. The $18 extra for the panoramic view is worth it. The breakfast was wonderful but you had to be fast to get the bacon!!! Will definitely come back again when we take in the next concert at the Coliseum.

    « Windsor Trip »

Very nice hotel and great staff, plenty to see and do in the area, very nice lounge in lobby with a great breakfast, parking is across the street behind the hotel so you should factor that in the cost of your stay, pretty good value, it would be great if the hotel had a restaurant tied into the lounge so you wouldn't need to leave the hotel for a lite meal in the evenings, but plenty of local eateries if required.

    3
    « A huge change »

This hotel was at the top of my list for favorite places to stay in Windsor. I have stayed here multiple times and have always enjoyed the service, atmosphere and amenities. Unfortunately, my most recent visit will leave me undecided on my return. Clearly, some upgrades need to happen. The elevators need service. Long waits....I'm not impatient - just timely and plan for business appointments. 14 minutes??? No elevator - called 0 and the engineer came up to offer the service elevator. If you need anything at the front desk - plan on an extra 10 minutes. Systems need to be upgraded! Don't get locked out of your room - ugh..not easy at the front desk if you didn't change your address before coming to the hotel.

    5
« Newly Renovated - Great for business!! »

If you travel for business like I do, look no further than staying at this hotel! Located right on the Waterfront you can enjoy views of the Detroit river and the night skyline of Detroit. In walking distance of some great restaurants and right down the street from the casino, this well-priced hotel has everything you need right at your fingertips. The hotel is clean and rooms have been recently updated. The staff is courteous and kind and parking is easily accessible. There is a great little business centre for last minute printing and emailing if your computer crashes like mine did! I'm always very impressed with this hotel every time I stay.

It all made for a wonderful experience and will be back in the future.

« Great Location overlooking the Downtown Skyline of Detroit »

I drove down to visit friends in Essex, I stayed at the Waterfront Hotel for the location and it has a nice pool, very close to the Caesars Windsor Casino, 3 block walk.. Everything was great, rooms are very nice, my room had a partial view of the Detroit river on the 11th floor.. Breakfast Buffett is very good., scrambled eggs, sausages, toast and bagels, waffles.. juices and coffee, included in your room rate. The Pool and Fitness facility on the 2nd lever has a nice view of the Detroit Skyline.. the Pool is more of a wading Pool at only 3 1/2 ft deep.. was refreshing after driving over to Dearborn, Michigan.. my only complaint was that the Parking garage which is a separate public parking building behind the Hotel.. the nightly rate is $15 per night, this charge should be included in the room rate.. The Wifi in the room is free and worked without problems.. The Windsor Casino just nearby is large Vegas style Casino, had a good band playing at the huge Stand up Bar when you enter.. lots of machines and table games.. I won $500 so overall a good night playing Blackjack.

« Clean, safe and quiet »

This hotel is clean and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. The rooms are comfortable and quiet - some have very beautiful views of the river front. On one occasion I left my iPad in my room when I checked out. I called the hotel after realizing what I had done and they held on to it for me until I returned to Windsor. I would definitely recommend this location.

    « Clean & Comfortable - good value »

This hotel is located in a great part of Windsor ON. Close to amenities and restaurants and to USA access. Very clean and comfortable room featuring everything needed for leisure or business travel. Reasonable price for the Brand, the amenities and the location hence 'good value' considering the additional parking fee and all taxes. A 20% reduction in the room rate would garner this hotel 'excellent value' and a 'must-stay'! I would highly recommend this hotel although at the price (all-in), there are probably others of similar 'value'. But you will not be disappointed with the Best Western Waterfront!

    4
« Not convenient to the Cobo Center »

The tunnel to the USA near the hotel is closed, so distance estimates published on travel websites between the hotel and areas of Detroit may be misleading. Otherwise, my stay was very satisfactory. Very comfortable bed, and the hotel accommodated my request for hypo-allergenic bedding.

    « Wedding in Windsor! »

My husband and I stayed at this location for two nights as our son got married in Windsor. We stayed in a King Jr. Suite on the 19th floor and it was great! Lots of room with a comfortable King size bed! The view of the Detroit River and Detroit Skyline was fabulous! Although we were busy and didn't spend a lot of time in our room, it was still a lovely, quiet room to sleep in. We had also rented the "Above Twenty Lounge" for wedding guests to relax in between the wedding and reception. Thanks to Erin in sales for helping us with the arrangements of this room. The front staff were very friendly with our check in. We also had a young man from the front desk accompany us to the Above Twenty Lounge to deliver food trays the day prior to the wedding. Everything went smoothly! Please know there is a complimentary breakfast with your stay at this location. The eating area is large with plenty of seating. The breakfast consisted of many items, so go with a big appetite! The only negative comment I can make is about the parking. The parking garage is behind the Hotel and is owned by the city, I do believe. The staff at the front desk will issue you a ticket to enter and exit the parking garage. It cost us $12.00 dollars for two nights. There is a small parking lot immediately behind the Hotel, but it is only meant for 10 or 20 minute parking. We certainly enjoyed our stay here. We would definitely stay at this location again. Great staff and wonderful room!

    « Wedding in Windsor! »

First time in Windsor and was so very pleasantly surprised. Beautiful waterfront, great running paths. Good shopping and very pretty atmosphere. Great view of a city (Detroit) that I didn't know but am looking forward to discovering as well. Can't wait to come back. Maybe take part of the half marathon that goes between Windsor and Detroit??!

    3
    « Seriously? »

They refuse to provide wine glasses in the room, saying only plastic cups available. Worse, there is only one wine opener in the entire hotel! The bartender will open your bottle for you IF you bring it down to them. Honestly? We booked months in advance requesting adjoining rooms. Confirmed this fact at least twice before arriving. When we got here we were told no adjoining rooms were available even though the request was clearly on our reservation. The woman at reception was fantastic and did eventually get us lovely adjoining rooms but I do wonder about the level of service in a hotel that can let this happen in the first place.

« problems at out one night stay »

please see earlier comments. This is the third time I am being asked to explain. There was construction outside the hotel and on the bridge from the parking garage to the hotel. We were told to use it to get back to the hotel. But is was not functional. I am disabled. The long walk trying to find our way back to the entrance to the hotel was a nightmare.

    5
« Comforatable and Enjoyable Stay! »

This riverfront hotel is conveniently located about .5 miles from the Detroit/Windsor tunnel. Nearly all the rooms have a view of the Detroit skyline. Ours was a view from the corner but still plenty of waterfront, skyline and Canadian landmarks to see from the room. We even saw a cruise ship docked one day! The staff was very friendly. Overnight parking is an additional $12 per night. The parking lot is not connected to the hotel but an easy 2 minute walk across the street from the back door. Outside the backdoor and next to the parking garage is the tunnel bus station. If your stay involves any of the sports arenas in Detroit the bus is probably the best way to get there. Breakfast at the hotel was hot and fresh. Everyday there was eggs, bacon, sausage, Canadian bacon, potatoes, fruit, oatmeal and pastries. Hot tea and coffee is available in the lobby 24 hours per day. Tea on hand is Red Rose which is rather tasty. The beds in the room are in the premium quality range. They are very comfortable with plenty of fluffy pillows. Lots of American and Canadian channels are available on the premium television. Overall, this is a great hotel that is conveniently located. The main restaurant and club area is about 3 blocks away and Caesars casino is about a 6 block walk on Riverside Dr. If you are traveling with kids there is a very nice water park (Adventure Bay) and Olympic swim training center located a half block away too.

« Best Western Plus Waterfront Hotel, Windsor, Ontario »

This hotel is very nice and clean. The only issue during our stay was WIFI service, which was fair. The staff was very helpful when we had an issue with our stay, which was created through hotels.com. Breakfast was good, hot items were hot, cold items were cold, with a large variety of food items and gluten free options when requested. We stayed during the Thanksgiving weekend, which was very busy, and there was no shortage of food or hot coffee. There is an additional charge for parking.

    « Still Good! »

As always, when my lady and I travel to Windsor, whether on business or leisure, we stay at the Waterfront Hotel. Until this latest trip, the experience has always been exactly as expected, specifically very good. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The breakfast good, the condition of the facilities and rooms, very good. I've written about them previously, to be honest, and will continue to do so until such time as the service and accommodation changes negatively. So you're probably asking yourself, "why the until this trip". Let me explain. One of the initial reasons we chose the hotel was the extra hour provided for checkout. Given our schedule when in Windsor/Detroit the extra hour or so is almost always needed. Now they've cut back the checkout time to 11:00. Now it may not seem like much to you, but it works for us in a big way. Hence, this vent with a thread of negativity. I suppose I was rubbed the wrong way when I broached the subject with someone at the front desk, asking for an extra 30 to 40 minutes to check out and the response was an abrasive and very reluctant sounding, "okay". I know, if that's the only problem I have, I should be thankful. I am, I just want my hour back. So Please Best Western Plus, give us back the hour. Use that as a promotional goodie. I needed to vent. You'll like the hotel and, you'll enjoy the location, plus the amenities. You're just gonna' have to go to sleep earlier if your schedule permits. LOL. Safe travels, always. Thanks for the read.

The facilities are not new but nicely updated. We stayed in a king room with a panoramic view of the river. The view was beautiful and the room was very quiet and comfortable. Plus, a beautiful park across the street so we took a nice walk after one of the bests breakfasts I've had in a hotel that was included with the room.

Excellent location and waterfront view. Warm water in pool and nice gym overlooking the Detroit skyline. Recently updated hotel, nice room and really great free breakfast. Walking distance to shops, waterfront trails and a short walk to my new favourite restaurant Toasty's on quellette. Coffee and newspapers are available in the lobby and a really beautiful seating/meeting area on the main floor overlooking the river.

« Great Hotel with awesome staff »

I have stayed at this hotel twice and both times I have been very impressed with my stay. My first visit was to drop off my daughter at the college and we stayed overnight . We were greeted with a warm smile and were given information about the hotel and points of interest. The beds were very comfortable and an awesome view of the river. The breakfast buffet was great and a good variety was available. Upon checkout we were asked about our stay and thanked us for choosing their hotel. The Manager of reservations Emilia gave me her card when she heard that we would be visiting the area frequently. I emailed my second visit and was once again treated with the same hospitality as with my first visit. Very friendly staff who are there to help with any of your needs. I am now a regular visitor to this hotel. Check out their website for all the details.

« Nice hotel, great view. »

I stayed at this hotel last month and it was a pleasant surprise. It is located on the river with a view of the river and Detroit skyline. It is a close walk to the casino. The rooms were updated, clean and the bed was very comfortable. They offered a very nice complementary breakfast in the lobby restaurant.

    4
« Nice rooms, great views and rates. »

Great place to stay, only bad thing is no restaurant although free breakfast is offered. Rooms are nice and clean with comfortable beds. Right downtown with a short walk to the casino and downtown shopping.

« Stayed for hockey tournament »

Hotel did a good job of managing several hockey teams, a wedding party, and other guests, over the same weekend. Noise in the hallway was kept to a minimum. Breakfast had good selection of hot and cold food, as well as celiac/gluten-free options (toast & GF rice krispies). Appearance was clean, room was comfortable, parking was convenient, can't think of much to improve upon really... it was a good stay!

    4
« Great views of Detroit »

Overall, I would rate this hotel as someplace between three and four. On the positive side, it has fantastic views of the Detroit downtown, nice both day and night. The higher the floor, the better. It's also a nice location. Windsor has a number of things to see and do right on the riverfront, including a sculpture garden. The room price, which I would consider quite reasonable, also included a breakfast buffet. Although I would put the buffet below average for what you often get outside the US, I would say that this one qualifies as average or a little above average relative to what you would typically see in North America (excellent variety but not amazing quality). On the downside, the room itself felt a bit tired in terms of the decor, the bath, and the amenities. It also had a relatively uncomfortable bed. Instead of feather pillows, it had synthetic pillows that were too thick for my taste. The sheets also did not have the crispness that you usually find these days at the better business chains. All in all, however, possibly the best option in Windsor.

    4
    « Hotel Stay »

I had a positive experience at the BW in Windsor, Ontario. My friends and family members who have stayed with me also enjoyed the amenities and comfort of the rooms. I particularly love the view of the lake from my window. The staff were professional and accommodating.

    4
    « Convenient Location »

Location is great for travelers going to events in Detroit but want to stay on Canadian side and take shuttle through the tunnel. Rooms overlook the river. Great for Wings, Lions or Tiger fans. Shuttle bus pick up and drop off is very close.

« Lovely room and an extremely clean property »

Room was large and updated nicely. I had tried to book a panoramic view room a month in advance however there was a BW employee conference going on and come to find out employees with the company were given those rooms. Coffee creamer was terrible throughout the hotel, its good if you like your coffee to taste nutty. Luckily there's a Starbucks around the corner!!! Parking was terribly crowded, expensive and poorly explained at check in! We had to call the attendant to exit the garage or pay an extra $26! Breakfast was good, fresh cut fruit was gone by 8am every morning which was my only complaint. Lots of food options in walking distance, we loved the loose goose and on a roll sushi! Would 100% stay at this location again all complaints are very minor and just for reference :)

    « Beautiful View »

We went to this hotel for our anniversary. Nice, clean hotel. We were on the 16th floor and the panoramic view of Detroit skyline was amazing! Friendly service at check in. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices and well stocked. Short walk to the casino. Parking is 12 dollars extra and located behind the hotel. Not a big deal to walk across the street to the hotel. I found the overall price expensive but it was worth it to be so close to the casino for a show we went to see.

    5
    « Pleasant Windsor Surprise »

The BW Plus in Windsor is a great value. It acts more like a high end hotel, but with reasonable room rates. The hotel is just across the street from the river and less than 5 minutes from the US. Canadien border. Easy to get to, and has a restaurant next door called the KEG. ; Food was good and reasonably priced, service there was excellent, just like the hotel, but they are separate entities. Great place to stay!

    5
    « Great hotel! »

Stayed here a few times over the past couple of months, blown away by the view every-time. Panoramic room view is worth the upgrade! Paid parking is really the only drawback to an otherwise excellent stay.

    4
« The waterfront views outweigh everything »

The hotel overall wasn't bad, but the updates and renovations could have been done better. The elevators and bathrooms really can use some professional updates. The rooms were cozy and the views were breathtaking! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The lobby and breakfast area were very nice, and they went out of their way to find gluten-free options for me.

    4
« Nice spot to stay downtown »

Nice location with most rooms looking out on the river with lights of Detroit on the other side. Easy walk to the casino and number of restaurants downtown. No restaurant in the hotel but breakfast was included and quite good for a hotel b'fast including great service. Parking is in the public parking garage directly behind the hotel. The connecting walkway is under construction but there is an elevator in garage if needed. Stairs were faster though. Hotel seems to be very popular as wedding destination - understand there were three weddings going on while there - which makes it quite busy for weekends. Book well in advance and expect some wedding group noise potentially. That said room was very quite. Good service at front desk. Room was clean and tidy throughout the stay. Only issue encountered was that the pillows are large and hard and all the same - not suitable for side sleepers. But otherwise quite enjoyed stay and would stay here again if/when back in Windsor.

    5
    « Great staff »

Everything was just fine with the hotel and our room. The hotel was booked solid and yet there was not an over abundance of noise or disruption. We had a beautiful view of the river and spent time watching huge tankers pass by. We had a good night's sleep with the best pillows I have ever used! The most impressive observation was during breakfast. (Free, delicious, varied, plentiful,) The staff was extremely busy, because the hotel was fully booked, yet they remained helpful, efficient and very friendly. Well done BW!

    « Degrade Customers »

My guests we there for work and were judged by there clothing and told "you can not have a banana, they are for guests only". Don't stand in front of lobby you get told homeless are not allowed to stand there. My guests were there for work and had work clothing on and treated very disrespectfully.

    « My stay! »

Staff in the breakfast area went out of there way to help in anyway they could, they were fantastic. I have a tremor, it is hard to do the simplest things, my husband cannot always be there, it is nice to know if I needed help, I had it. The whole stay was very enjoyable. We had a noise problem and it was handled quickly. I would not hesitate to stay again.

    4
« Great place to stay on the riverfront! »

Stayed for two nights in a king size room with a river view, which was beautiful. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean and fairly affordable. The hotel offers free wifi as well as a free breakfast every morning which wasn't the usual bagels and cereal you get with most places...they had scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, French toast, pastries, and a DIY waffle station. It was very busy every morning, with little room to sit and eat in the dining area, but you are able to take your plates to your room which was nice. The only complaint were the elevators. The last day we were there we were almost late to check out because it took over 15 minutes to get an elevator. Normally we would just take the stairs by that time but we were on the 19th floor with lots of baggage so we had no choice but to wait. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and had a very nice time.

    2
    « Dissappointing »

I chose this hotel by the location and the online photos. The location was spot on but the the magnificence of the photos did not reflect the scruffiness of the room we stayed in or the limited view on display from our window. The reception staff were lackadaisical and the coffee was undrinkable. Having said that, the place was relatively inexpensive and possibly I would have been happier if I had not seen the online photos and had expected less.

« Good value at Best Western Plus »

Great hotel in Windsor. Right across from the river front. Directly across from the art gallery. Within walking distance of Sculpture Park and Caesars Casino. Staff was friendly. Beds are comfortable. Bartender is very friendly. Breakfast has a variety for you to choose from daily. Start time is 6:30 so you can grab a bite before heading out!! Great views. Indoor pool. My only complaint is the windows in room 1815 were too dirty to get a good view of the river.

« Lots of little leaguer »

Staff are excellent here. Room is ok we where told it was a queen size.but it was much closer to a small full size. I requested a roll away and the springs where sticking out of it. But better then squeezing into the full. We always had to ask for additional towels and two days we did not get any shampoo I strongly suggest you bring your own. Breakfast would have been nice if it was not for all the over stimulated little boys and their parents. The children and their parents took over the bar area for their awards "dinner" one night. This was unpleasant

Good value. Parking, breakfast and internet included. Good location and views. Gym is a bit lacking but pool is impressive. Staff very nice. Even the "updated" rooms are still a bit "dated". Would use again.

« Management is very unprofessional »

Customer Service is always number one when I decide to stay somewhere. It felt like the manager was making the assumption that I've never stayed in a hotel before and that I don't understand how the Canadian tax system works. I was given one price which was based on the offer shown on the website, then I got a bill slipped under my door for tax on top of the tax that I paid. As well I was handed a parking pass only to find out later it was an additional charge.

Although the beautiful room was a bit small, we had a great stay. The kids enjoyed the hotel pool and the water park that's just around the corner. Easy parking. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.

« Good location and very nice breakfast »

The hotel is located on the waterfront, as the name suggests, but is also within 5-10 minutes drive of the University, easy walk to the casino and many good restaurants. It is definitely worth checking out if you want something better than the motels along Huron Church, which are easier to access from the highway and a little less expensive. My hotel room was located on the 19th floor, but it did not face the river directly so the view was not great, but it was very private without having to draw the drapes. The breakfast was better than most complimentary breakfasts, with a good selection of meats and eggs, especially if you are an early riser. My only complaint was a recurring low buzzing sound emanating from the hall. It was annoying later in the evening, but it did not keep me from sleeping. Everything else is what you'd expect from a good hotel. If I could improve something is to have the toilet paper holder relocated so that it is within easy reach when needed--a poor design feature that plagues many hotels, though.

« An Great Place to Stay »

This hotel will be consider number one in my book, Friendly staff, great rooms and awesome breakfast every morning. The hotel was in a great location overlooking the Detroit river, within waking distance of Caesar's casino most eating places and gift shops. If you like to take leisurely walks you can on the Riverfront Boardwalk across from the hotel. You couldn't ask for anything better.

    « Great stay »

Hotels was great. The room overlooked the Detroit River and downtown Detroit. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast more than adequate. Rooms were fine. Our group had 3 rooms on different floors and everyone was satisfied with their room. Lot of places to eat nearby, as well as art gallery and museums. If I had a complaint it would be the air conditioner, which was loud when the compressor was on. Not a deal breaker nor was it reported as the fan kept the room cool enough at night.

Nice everything. Excellent location, view, service, staff, breakfast, check in and check out. Local eateries within walking distance. Right in the downtown area. The price is very reasonable for what you get.

« Great value with a great Riverview! »

We stayed here for 2 nights in order to go to a Tigers game in Detroit. Very nice room with comfy beds and pillows and a great view of the River. Wifi worked well. Parking not included. Getting across the border to Comerica Park via tunnel was easy. Breakfast was satisfactory but closed promptly at 9:30 so get to breakfast well before closing. This hotel was great value given the location and price!

    « Great hotel »

We only stayed one night. The room was very quiet and comfortable. The hotel was within walking distance of the Casino. The breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from. I used the swimming pool. What I thought was odd was that there were no stairs into the pool which is what I am used to. I was able to climb down the ladder. However, anyone that is disabled, or has a bad knee or hip would have difficulty getting in and out of the pool.

This is the hotel I would recommend. Price was reasonable for what you got. The view is beautiful the food was great breakfast was excellent. Lots of variety. Something for everybody. Was clean. Didn't know about having to pay for parking until we arrived I believe it was $12 per day. The mattress is very uncomfortable.

A very good hotel, exceeding expectations. Almost all staff were very good and seemed happy to go "a step beyond". The hotel is well located on the beautiful Detroit Windsor waterfront and the rooms are regularly being updated.

« Nice lobby and view but don't go here to use the fitness center »

The latch lock on my door was broken which concerned me. Also, I basically chose this hotel for the recumbent bike since I have neck issues - it's the only machine I can use. After a long drive I was looking forward to using the bike, which, after trying to get it to work for about 15 minutes I gave up. I noticed that two out of three treadmills were also out of order and someone was using the only one. I went directly to tell the front staff who said they will have somebody take a look the bike. I requested that they call my room if they fix it and to update me (I could tell by the response from the staff that it would not happen). I did not receive a call. Also, upon my check out the staff member hardly looked at me (he was on his computer and didn't look up) never asked me how my stay was and after he cut me off abruptly saying goodbye. I had to ask him if my rewards points were added to my stay. I asked him if I could leave my trolly of belongings somewhere so I could go get my car and he just pointed 'leave it over there'. Who knows if anybody watched it. I felt like he should've been more attentive.

    « A business rendez-vous »

This hotel is located across the street from the Detroit river and the sister City of Detroit. Its an older but well maintained establishment. Its elevators although adequate are slow. The onsite restaurants are respectable if not slightly overpriced, like other such hotels. The dark burnished wood paneling and tiled floors lend a respectable and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel was originally purposely constructed so at least a portion of your room faces the Detroit river. Therefore, it doesn't matter which room is given to you, there will be a view of the river. The staff are well trained and go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction. The rooms are moderately large, with small fridge and microwave. There's free wifi throughout the building. The only inconvenience for large gatherings is the limited bathroom facilities on certain floors used for meetings. The cities art centre is attached to this hotel. If one is lucky or plans for it. You might be able to catch a stage play or show. Across the street is a park dotting or following the rivers concourse. In the summer there is a permanent small fair with rides for the kiddies and adults alike. The sunsets and starlight night is fabulous, situated at the epicentre of Detroit's waterfront high-rises. At night there are multiple coloured lights illuminating and constantly changing colours adding to the surreal atmosphere. There are other hotels and decent restaurants within a walking distance. One should take a moment out of there busy days to enjoy such beauty which surround's them. It was the first time Claudette and I visited the city. We were very surprised and pleased by its small town big city appearance. We will certainly return when the occasion presents itself

« Short Stay for Business Meeting »

My meetings were being held in the conference rooms at this hotel so it was very convenient to stay here. After looking at some of the aggregate travel/hotel sites, I ended up finding the best rate on the BW website itself. Careful - parking is extra ($12/night) and it is across the street with no crosswalk. Didn't get a chance to use the fitness center but it looked nice. Breakfast was very good, lots of selection.

    5
    « nice hotel »

This was a very pleasant hotel. The breakfast was very good, with lots of options including a bunch of waffle makers. We had a waterfront room and the view was excellent. The staff were friendly. The only negative was the parking attendant at the garage who was very rude and creepy.

    4
    « comfortable and clean »

Hotel is clean and comfortable and breakfast is a good addition compared to other hotels I have used. I wish the beds were a little more comfortable but otherwise very pleased. Nice to wake up to the view of the channel and walk by the channel in the evening.

« Great place to stay right on the waterfront »

Excellent location right on the waterfront, in the heart of the downtown core. Friendly staff. Excellent, hot complementary breakfast. One tip - if a room with a view of the water is important to you make sure you specify when you make the reservation; some views are better than others

    « Dirty Hotel »

This hotel is know to have bed bugs. They say that check-in is at 3pm and you don't get your room available to you until 4pm. The next day you leave to come back to find that you room has not been cleaned and come back to find out that rooms on your floor have bed bugs. You then have to find someone to check your room for bed bugs and then make-up the room. The cleaners that work at the hotel are not the cleanest. They don't even empty the garbage when they clean the room.

    4
    « Nice. Stay »

Hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. Very close to many restaurants. We were a bit disappointed in one bed. Sheets were dirty. The bed did not seem clean and it looked like someone had been in it before us.

« Great view, great rooms and a wonderful breakfast! »

« Excellent experience at Best Western Windsor »

Everything was wonderful. The front office staff was extremely helpful in everything we asked. To accommodate better viewing experience of Detroit, the front office immediately offered to change the room. Breakfast was also very good in terms of variety & quality. Check out was super express.

    « Great Locale »

Room was large and king bed very comfy. Breakfast room was very large, great selection also. Staff very friendly and attentive despite hotel being full. Parking lot just behind hotel was convenient although $12+tax per night was added to bill for it. The "partial river view" across to Detroit was spectacular day and night. Hotel was very soundproof and quiet despite being full with several weekend wedding. Easy walk across the street to pretty river walk. Nothing negative to say: very clean, convenient, well stocked, well staffed hotel!

    3
« Don't believe what type read! Waterfront ? Yes but you don't get to enjoy the view »

Please double check when you make the reservation the prime might double by the time you get there!! Yes if you book online at a certain rate, it will not be the same , also NO PARKING, you have to park at a public parking and have to pay around $12 extra per night

    4
    « Predictably Comfortable »

It's my go-to place at the moment for my regular travel. Comfy beds, good staff. Breakfast is good, but I still feel a need to hit the Starbucks after I leave as the coffee is just not cutting it. Keep at it, though, as it has improved a little in the last few months.

    4
« Good place to stay -Close to all ammenites »

I have stayed many times at this hotel. There has been a few issues with maintenance items , they have always been repaired or rectified quickly. The breakfast area has been continually under going improvements. The breakfast is convenient for the purpose of not having to travel and make another stop before the morning start.

    « Partial Waterfront »

We booked for 2 nights, we got partial view of the waterfront. We checked in and was given 4th floor, no other floors were cleaned...and this hotel has 22..that's pretty bad to say the least. Didn't care that we were charged $12 a night, to park across the street in public parking lot. Hotel rate was $147/night for the middle of the week in July. Our room was cleaned except for the dust on top of the bed frame, and underneath the bathroom counter. TV was the worst, it just kept getting darker and darker regardless of setting the picture reset button. Too late to call front desk tonight...about the problem. A few holes in the walls, not impressed. Its pretty tight in here, with 2 queen beds, business desk/chair, chair and footstool. Would of been nice with more space, as shown in photos. Lobby was inviting, and nice....but I'm not sleeping there. Breakfast was mediocre, but most are especially continental style usually is. It's close to the casino which is a bonus, like a 2 min drive or 15 min walk. Back entrance from hotel to parking lot is NOT accessible for handicapped, which isn't good in this day and age.

« Old, Outdated with Low Ceilings and Plumbing Issues »

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for three nights while in town for a friend's wedding. We chose this hotel due to the convenient location and overwhelmingly positive reviews. Unfortunately, our stay was lackluster and frustrating at times. Our room was old and outdated, with chipped furniture, wall-to-wall carpeting and a small refrigerator that wouldn't stop humming loudly. On the bed was a sad, linty throw pillow that I immediately removed and hid away in the corner. The pillows on the bed were very soft, and the bed was lumpy and moderately uncomfortable. Not to mention the absolute worst part of the room-- the ceiling heights. The ceiling heights in our room were extremely low, perhaps around 8 feet tall. The heights in the bathroom were even lower, making it feel like a yellowed out nursing home bathroom circa 1978. This made the room feel extremely claustrophobic despite having stellar views of Detroit. I inquired if there were rooms with taller ceiling heights, however it seems the entire hotel has the same ceilings. The toilet in our room ran incessantly, and my husband had to fix it every night. We're not just talking a little trickling sound-- it was a very loud water running sound, as if our hotel room was overlooking the Niagara Falls. I've seen other reviewers mention this as well, so obviously the plumbing in the building needs to be addressed. Speaking of which, there was no way to turn on the ventilation fan in the bathroom so it was difficult to air out after showering and a perfect breeding ground for mold (of which there was a ton in our sink drainage hole). There is no valet parking with the hotel, and instead they offer a key card to the nearby garage (also with low ceilings, fancy that) and charge a cool $13.50 CAD a day. Since other overnight parking in the area was around $5 CAD daily, my husband and I assumed that the $13.50 CAD was for the entire three nights of our stay (a friendly discount, perhaps?). We were billed for three nights upon check out, which made me very unhappy although the staff made the situation right. Just please be aware that there are cheaper parking options just as conveniently located, so I wouldn't bother with their parking options. Overall, it wasn't the worst stay but definitely not amazing. If I ever make my way back to Windsor again I will check out a different hotel.

« Good hotel, service less than stellar »

I stayed at this hotel to be close to the Windsor pool as we were attending a swim meet. Overall, this is a terrific location and the hotel is a good value. The service is generally good and the breakfast is solid and typical but overall well presented and fairly nourishing. I did have a very bad experience with the front desk security/manager that was on duty the first night of our stay. He was very rude and certainly lacked any ability to provide service. I did report the incident the next day and it was handled by a lovely female manager who assured me the situation would be dealt with and provided compensation for the poor service. It is all about how a company recoups when things go poorly and the BW Waterfront did well.

« Great view and value! »

We were driving from Chicago to the Fort Erie area of Ontario and wanted to stop about halfway overnight. We targeted the Detroit area, however the prices in Detroit were about double the prices of comparable hotels just across the river in Windsor. In the past, that area was kind of rundown, but they have cleaned it up and added gardens, walking paths, etc. to the riverfront. We felt very safe walking around after we checked in. Our room was large, clean, updated and had a great view of the Detroit skyline. The price included a very nice breakfast in the lobby area in the morning with waffles, eggs, fruit, cereal, sausage, pastries, etc. Parking was also included but was about a block from the hotel in a parking garage. There is a covered walkway connecting the two structures, but it was closed and looks like it is being rebuilt. We would definitely stay here again. It was clean and a good value which are our 2 biggest criteria when choosing a place to stay.

Great experience. Rooms, staff, and breakfast were all top notch. Only one complaint. A large group, in for the fireworks, took over the concierge lounge making it unusable for other guests staying on the 2 upper floors. Will definitely stay here again, when in the area.

    « Enjoyable! »

We booked a room with a panoramic view of the Detroit River and we were not disappointed! We had the top floor, and the view was spectacular. Our room was very clean, nicer than most places we had seen being advertised. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was clean, modern and trendy - the actual breakfast was good too. The only downside is that the parking lot is a few minutes away from the hotel. You can walk outside, but if you take the inside corridors, it takes you through these abandoned hallways. It's kinda sketchy and slightly unnerving. Still, if we ever stay in Windsor again, we'll be staying here.

« Great view and even better service »

Very pleased with the service and amenities. Perhaps I lucked out but the view across the waterway from my room was spectacular view of the river line of the USA indeed. I recommend this location for busness but if you are ever in town for the Windsor casino this is a great spot. Request a room high up and one facin the front of the hotel - view is absolutely awesome! My visit was for business and a visit to the casino was my first time as well.

    « Filthy »

The view was good but the room was so dirty. We even found 'stuff' under the bed and who knows how long it was there. The headboards had never been wiped down - gross. Then to top it off I get home to find they have added a charge to my bill that I had already paid for. I don't think it could get any worse.

    « Dissappointed »

I have stayed at this hotel many times sometimes for weeks at a time while travelling on business. They don't offer movies here (even to pay for) and the tv selection is 64 channels that all have white noise (so not even good quality cable) that would bother me except i always bring my ps4 which keeps me entertained... So I go to hook it up as usual only its not working. I give them a ring and they inform me that they've disabled it. Excuse me? Disabled it? They hired some tech guy to go on every single tv in the bleeping hotel and disable HDMI. Why? Why best western? Why would you do that? I loved you! But really, how grumpy do you have to be as a manager to pay to disable HDMI on every single tv in the building? Its not us guests streaming movies from our laptops or gaming is taking away from their money in any way because, like I said, they don't even offer movies to rent! Seems like they just don't like their guests having too much fun. Oh well. Hope it was worth it, I've spent about $20 000 here so far but I'm not going to stay here anymore when you just disabled my only source of entertainment.

Stay overnight Saturday. Check in about 3pm...busy hotel with Memorial Cup, soccer and baseball teams. Pool overcrowded with kids...no hot tub?! Room was king suite on 13th floor, huge windows, see the Ren Cen, Cobo Hall, Hart plaza, Ambassador Bridge...Room had fridge, microwave, large flat screen tv, bathroom kind of small and no fan. AC worked but even when off, can hear street noise due to location of HC system. parking was $12+tax with in out privileges. Overall our stay was very good. Would recommend to everyone. We are returning in June.

    « Nice room with a view »

Stayed at this hotel earlier this week when we were in Windsor for the Memorial Cup. Checked in around 5pm and my only complaint would be that the process was slow. The desk staff were extremely nice and friendly. I had booked the room via hotwire and they had reserved a wheelchair accessable room. The man who was checking us in said he would give us a free upgrade because we wouldn't be comfortable in that room due to all the modifications. Ended up with a room with an amazing view of the river and the Detroit skyline. Beds were comfy, tons of pillows. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Will definitely stay here again when I'm in Windsor or Detroit.

« Great Views to be Had! »

Checking in was very pleasant, and there is an ample canopy at the front of the hotel lobby. I would recommend taking your time to fully unload there, as the parking for the hotel is across the street from the rear of the building. I only had a backpack, which was fine for me, but if you forget something heavy, it can be a long trek to the vehicle and back with heavy baggage. The staff was very knowledgeable, and the Concierge on duty was full of great suggestions for area attractions. The elevator makes short work of 20 floors, and is very comfortable considering how fast it is. The room I stayed in had a commanding view of the Detroit River, and I was able to snap a photo of the Detroit skyline. The beds were firm, but equipped with plenty of pillows. The Television wasn't limited to Satellite HD broadcasts, and had a USB port in the back that I used to charge a phone. The bathroom was sufficiently stocked, and the tub was very easy to get in and out of. Water pressure was not a problem. I took advantage of the generous breakfast. Though the breakfast facility is sprawling and impressive, the choice was deceptively limited. The disappointment of a sparse selection was balanced out with a very enjoyable and tasty meal, and I admit I went back for a second plate. :) Though I only stayed for one day/night, the Waterfront Hotel left a smile on my face as I left town. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again if ever Windsor calls my name.

« Great Views, Unfriendly Staff »

Hotel has fantastic views of the river, good wifi, and large, nicely decorated rooms. We had been thoroughly enjoying our stay until we encountered their unpleasant bartender and had difficulties sorting out parking issues with the front desk staff. If staying at this location, avoid the lobby bar!

Overall good. Rooms are relatively clean and tidy. The internet is reliable and fast. The quality of products is good. Missing a microwave and a safe. I Expect a better quality breakfast and free parking for the price I paid per night.

Hotel is in a prime location close to all downtown amenities. Casino is within walking distance and view and access to lakefront parks, walks and bistro is excellent. However the hotel is now looking and feeling tired and aged. Rooms need to be upgraded

Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel, my wife and I commented the following day on how friendly and extremely helpful the staff was at this hotel, so pleasant to be treated in this manner when staying at a hotel.

« Great Hotel in Windsor »

I had to travel to Windsor for a conference and stayed here. The location was fantastic! And the view from my room was fantastic! My room overlooked the river and I could see the skyline for Detroit. Very pretty. I found the staff amazing! Everyone was friendly and very customer service oriented. Great Experience! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

« Great value if you can get a room »

This used to be the Hilton on Riverside. The rooms are clean. A nice sized buffet breakfast is complimentary. There is a little snack corner off reception stocked with pop, juice, chips, candy. There is no room service. It is not a far walk to the Kev if you would like a steak dinner. Rooms are basic and amenities are basic. This keeps the cost affordable. A great spot that is less expensive than the Casino Hotel. Much better value if you do not mind finding food elsewhere.

    5
    « So beautiful! »

This hotel was so beautiful.. I was sad to leave! We stayed here for a wedding and were given the most amazing room with the most beautiful view of the water. This hotel was clean and very accommodating! The 24 hour snack shop is a great idea for after a night out! I will definitely return to this hotel!!

    « Excellent Hotel »

This was by far the best Best Western that I have ever stayed at. And I would rank it in general as one of the best hotels that I have stayed at. They had an awesome breakfast and the hotel is located in a great location on the river. The view was awesome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

    « Short Stay/Sweet Stay »

Everything was clean, the bed was super comfortable. I was barely there long enough to get a sense of many of the services though! Our waitress (who went above and beyond by serving us when we had a late arrival and last call had already been served) was the most amazing.

    « Location, location, location »

We had an excellent stay at the Best Western Plus Waterfront in Windsor. It is right across the street from the beautiful park and offers a lovely view of Detroit. Room was comfortable, clean and nicely furnished. Excellent and tasty breakfast was included. We will stay here again when taking the Via Rail from Windsor. It was very convenient to the train station.

    5
    « Beautiful Waterfront View »

Our room had a beautiful view of the waterfront. We were going to the Casino for a show and it was less than a 10 minute walk away. There are many restaurants within walking distance. There are a decent selection of options for breakfast which is included in the rate. Overall great value for the price.

« Best bang for you buck! »

This hotel couldn't have a better view if you opt (which I did) for the panoramic view. Room size is good, it's comfortable and clean. Didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on that. My room though did have a fridge and coffee maker.

    4
« Nice Hotel, but Noisy »

Noise was an issue, I could hear noise from other rooms like they were right in my room with me and even being on the 19th floor, I could hear the cars on Riverside like they were driving right outside my door. The staff was wonderful and the hotel was clean and the breakfast buffet was huge, lots of choices. That said, I was there with a lot of other people for a race and I thought that they could have left the buffet open a little later as most people don't really eat before the race, and it closed right before most of us returned.

    2
    « Very disappointed! »

Booked through booking.com and our room was suppose to Ba river view. When we walked in it was a very small room and the furniture had to be rearrange to have any view other than the brick of the building. Breakfast wasn't the best, cold eggs were very disappointing.

Hotel probably good for young family with children. Bar lounge is not enticing. Bar staff on that evening more interested talking to own friends before noticing me and then carried on anyway. Not professional

    « Beautiful hotel! »

Very nice rooms! Great atmosphere. Easy to find/get to. One of the nicest hotels in Windsor!! I would definitely visit this hotel again! Close to Caesars, Art Gallery and riverfront walking trail...Don't stay at the Travellodge nearby (poor service, parking tickets handed out to guests and hotel doesn't care/refused to help).

    « It's a gem »

This hotel has gone through some great renovations. It is now a beautiful clean hotel with a great view of the river and easy access to go for a nice stroll along the river. The breakfast has gone from a basic continental style with paper plates and plastic utensils to a pretty extensive warm buffet (small) breakfast with healthy options and glass plates and silverware. As someone who travels a lot for work I truly appreciate the effort and value this hotel provides.

    3
    « Renovated... Really? »

The queen room was very spacious and that was nice. I was given a renovated room but I'm not sure what that means to them. The carpet is perhaps "newer". The furniture looks old and is very scratched up. The dresser drawers are wonky and the handles were all loose. The dirty phone was quite literally from the 1980's. There is mold in the shower and the drain backs up while showering. I had one warm shower out of three with low water pressure. When I got there, there was hair on the toilet, bathroom counter, and floor. When I wiped some water drops off of the counter (from myself) the tissue was discolored, which tells me the counters aren't' clean. The bathroom door itself was dirty. My socks got dirty from wearing them around my room. The remote control is placed in a bag that says it's a clean remote but it had fingerprints on it. There were prints on the mirror closet doors. The corners, nooks, and crannies throughout the room and bathroom are not clean. The overall room was just kind of icky. I've come to the conclusion that hotels do the very minimum to make a room ?appear? tidy at first glance but nothing is ever really CLEANED. I don't blame the housekeepers, as I imagine they are understaffed and likely doing the best they can to get in and out of a room in the time they are allotted by upper management. The windows are old and one side of the "view? was full of moisture condensation so I couldn't see through it. I had to sit right in front of the good side to see anything because of the angle of the room. But what I did see was beautiful. The Detroit city skyline and riverfront park are very pleasant to look at. The breakfast is a nice bonus. The bacon was great and the waffles are yummy, but the scrambled eggs have a weird bumpy liquid texture. I don't know if they aren't real eggs or maybe not cooked enough. BUT after having said all that I have to add that the staff is so friendly and helpful. Housekeeping is responsive if you need something. Audrey in the bar calls everyone darling and is a kick! The hotel is in a great location and has a stunning view. I'm on the fence about staying here again because it didn't feel clean, which is a shame because we really enjoyed all of the people!

« Great value, Awesome views »

Stayed here on a Thursday night after a concert. Check in was friendly, fast and efficient. Parking in the garage behind the hotel across the street was convenient. We had a king bed room, which was very spacious, clean and well decorated. Our room view was downriver looking at the bridge, and possible to look as far east as Cobo. We were on the 14th floor, and it was enjoyable to see as far as Dearborn, and way beyond. It was fun to just sit and watch the river. The bathroom was clean and roomy. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise as there was plenty of selection, and good tasting options. We walked across the street in the morning to walk up the river. The park is such a nice place to stretch your legs. The only minor disappointment was the lack of a hot tub in the pool area. Don't pass up going to the museum that you pass on the way to the parking garage. It is free, and interesting. We would for sure stay here again. You may want to request an east side room if you want to see the RenCen.

« Would Never Go Back »

Would never go back, the employees issued a key to my room and a random couple had access to my room for over 24 hours. Essentials could have been taken, security put at risk, safety was a massive concern. Sad, I do not recommend.

    « Great Weekend »

Room was perfect! All employees were friendly and helpful! Especially the awesome lady working at the bar! Gave me plenty of choices of what she thought I'd like cuz I'm such a picky drinker! The parking was a bit complicated at first and I didn't realize we'd have to pay for it, but that's the only flaw I've found. I used to do housekeeping at a hotel, and this place was wonderful even with it being full house, with frats and weddings. Highly recommend this hotel. I WILL be returning! Thanks for an awesome weekend!

« Adequate room, but they removed the Hot Tub from the pool area. »

We go to Windsor every year in may for a Golf and getaway weekend. In previous years the hotel had a Hot Tub and it used to be awesome. Since Best Western took over they cemented over the hot tub and made that area into another poolside area with lounge chairs like they have around the other sides of the pool. It is now not a place we stay at anymore because the biggest draw was getting into the hot tub after a day of golf which we can no longer do because they removed it. This place is worse than the Holiday Inn in Windsor because of the removal of the hot tum from the pool area. I would just stay elsewhere because this place is now overpriced.

    « Best Western Waterfront »

We stayed at the hotel because of my daughter swimming competition. The location is fantastic. The hotel needs a bit of work. Elevators are scary. Breakfast was awful. Definitely needs a restaurant since there is no decent place around to eat. (Except for Keg restaurant). For our purpose it was perfect because the swimming competition pool was across the street. The hotel was crazy busy.

« Nice place for short vacation to Windsor »

Liked my stay with BW. The staff were really friendly especially one in the bar. She was so funny and it would make you sit in the bar much longer than you originally planned. Free breakfast was decent, room was clean. Most rooms have wonderful view of the river, Ambassador bridge and Downtown Detroit. I will recommend it to anyone who is planning to visit Windsor for short vacations. Our return train to Toronto was in the evening and they let us stay in the room till 3 which was a great help.

    4
    « Great View »

Had room 1013 - corner suite with great view across river and Detroit skyline, which is spectacular at night! Nice downtown, river front location. Parking across the street behind the hotel is slightly inconvenient. Breakfast was ho hum typical. Keg is less than a block away which is a plus. I've found BW Plus hotels to be good reliable choices and I will stay at this one again.

    « Excellent »

We stayed here for 3 nights and were very happy with our experience. The staff was very friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, located on the 20th floor. The bed was king size and provided us a great nights sleep. Our room had a view of the river and Detroit on the other side. There is a free continental breakfast which included fruits, breads, eggs, waffles, sausages, cereals, pastries, coffee and juices. My only complaint is there is no in room safe. Otherwise we had a great stay and recommend this location.

    « Exceptional View »

It is my second time staying at this hotel. I chose this hotel cause of the amazing view. Room are clean, staffs are friendly, a very convenient downtown location. Only problem is the Wi-Fi, sometimes it s very difficult to log in to their network. Anyway, overall, I will come back and stay with this hotel again.

    4
« Very good place to stay »

The hotel is right at the waterfront so it's really nice to go for a walk in front of the hotel in the park by the waterfront with lots of nice views and beautiful garden. The service is very good and the staff is very friendly.

    « Great location »

This is a great hotel if you want to walk to everything it also has a great view of the Detroit skyline. The inside is a bit tired and the inside walk to the hotel from the parking garage is straight from a horror film.

    « Good location »

We stayed for one night over the American thanksgiving weekend for a hockey game in Detroit . We arrived in Windsor earlier than expected, we called ahead and we were able to check in about two hours early, which was amazing. The lobby is clean and modern. The staff was very friendly and polite. Check-in was very quick, parking was very reasonable at the multi-level behind the hotel that does have an enclosed walkway to the hotel, it is a bit longer walk to the hotel by way of the walkway though. The location for our visit was extremely convenient, there is plenty of bars and restaurants within close walking distance, the casino is also a short, direct walk. We used the tunnel bus to get to downtown Detroit, and the terminal is right across the street from the back entrance to the lobby. The only complaint that we had was with the room itself. While we were pleased with the rate ($178 after tax), we were disappointed with the condition of the room. The bed was very clean and comfortable, but the room was very outdated, old carpet, and furniture, the bathroom was also clean, but dated and dark. With some room renovations this would be an amazing hotel. Perhaps just drop the PLUS and just sell it as a regular best western. For the absolute amazing location we would stay here again.

« Nice place with a scenic view »

This was our very first visit to Canada. It was a comfortable place to stay in Windsor with a nice breakfast buffet. A nice park with a wonderful view of the Detroit skyline is just walking distance. Parking is not very convenient, though, as you have to cross the street at the back of the hotel.

    « Terrible Customer Service/Unfulfilled Promise »

We booked this hotel for 3 days and all we got was terrible customer service. To start off with, we paid for a River View room and they end up giving us a partial view room. Beds are horrible - They need to be upgraded! Went to the front desk to ask for something and the front desk was extremely rude - "we don't carry that here at front desk" This was the person's reply and he completed ignored us and starting helping another customer.

« Love what they've done with the place! »

My husband and I just recently visited since it changed over to the Best Western and we absolutely loved it. Very modern and clean. Breakfast included - all for a very reasonable price too. Will definitely be staying here again.

    « Awesome time »

Main reason why we were here was for my friend's wedding. Easy to locate from the border. Nice location as it is at riverfront. Room is quite small but ok. Overlooking the river which is nice. Near elevator. Parking is at 12 dollars a day at the rear of the building right across the street. It is safe but I would think that the parking lot rightly behind the building could be for the guests. Extra care provided to us. Got a note from them as we did not want any housekeeping... frankly we left for a day to go to Niagara falls. They offered us towel which was nice but we did need new towels. Breakfast may be too redundant. Very little selection. Same thing every morning. Lack of condiments like hot sauce, mayo etc. Lack of bread selection.. may be bagel, more wheat bread or rye. May be biscuit and gravy on sundays may not be a bad idea for more variety. Walking distance from restaurants .. too cold to walk though. I am a desert rat and cold and is like water and oil. Lol. I guess that's Canada weather for u. They offer exhange for US dollars to Canadian dollars which is convenient. Walking distance to the wedding reception which was nice. Overall it was good.

    « Weekend stay »

Checking was smooth. Parking is around back in parking garage, somewhat inconvenient. Rooms immaculate and very comfortable. Hotel has a pool but no hotub. 100% smoke free, but could smell smoke on our floor. Breakfast, included was very good. Lots of space to eat. Close to downtown and most amazing view of Windsor coast line, Detroit river and Detroit skyline. You pay for the view.

My husband and I went for a romantic anniversary trip. We were not disappointed!! The room with the panoramic view of the river and Detroit skyline was worth every penny!!! « Great View and Good Value »

One of the most impressive views of the Detroit skyline can be seen from the windows of this hotel. The hotel is located close to the casino and the arts centre and it takes only a short walk to get to downtown locations. The rooms are adequate in size, clean and comfortable. It is solidly a 4 star venue.

    5
« Views for all & great staff! »

All rooms seem to have a river view. Visiting for a hockey game in Detroit - perfect getaway with a view of the city and escape the madness of conventions. Check in was a breeze and the views (even partial) are simply amazing. Red & white accents made it home feel for the Red Wings. Everything and everyone was great - very helpful. Bathroom faucet was pretty weak, very low water pressure but everything else was simply perfect. Parking was available across the street behind the hotel for $12/night - great location within Windsor.

    2
    « Not worth it »

Everything looks great from afar. The lobby is lovely and updated and the front desk staff was pleasant at check-in. We booked a 2 queen room. When we got to our room, they were not queen sized beds - they were double. The bathroom fan didn't work. The a/c heat unit in the room was filthy! And when we opened the panel to turn it off - we couldn't because it was missing the nobs and the labels! They charge $12 to park and it is in a sketchy public parking garage on the block behind the building. We parked on the 4th level and tried to use the elevator down but the elevator didn't work and we got stuck in it and had to pry the door open! The stairwell was so dirty that you didn't even want to touch the doors or the stairs themselves. This hotel was definitely not worth the price! Will not be staying here again and will be seriously reconsidering staying at any other Best Western in the future.

    1
« The location might be good, that's about it. »

If you think you're getting a deal, you've got another thing coming. The continental breakfast is awful, the A/C unit in the room sounds like a Hemi truck engine, and my room seemed dirty. The staff was friendly though at arrival, and the bar lounge is really nice.

    5
« Great place to stay! »

I was very pleased with the staff and cleanliness of the rooms. My stay was a pleasurable one. The view was breath taking from my room. The only drawback to staying here was having to pay for parking. I would defiantly tell anyone that visits Windsor about staying at this hotel.

    « Great weekend Getaway !! »

The hotel is great with all its amenities, close to downtown and right on the waterfront. Room view of the river and Detroit was really nice. Only thing ... their breakfast is decent but closes way too soon at 10:00 a.m. the staff was already clearing things. Could use to stay open longer until 10:30 or 11:00 a.m. Busy hotel but clean and great service from front staff (forgot her name but she was very pleasant and helped us out tremendously). Great weekend getaway except for the Halloween bash happening next door to the hotel ... you could hear the music through the walls. Beware of coming on Halloween weekend !!

« Great spot on the waterfront »

Clean hotel with comfortable beds. Walking distance to casino and the waterfront park in front of the hotel. Great views of the waterfront and Detroit from our hotel room. There was coffee available in the lobby, but it wasn't worth drinking.

« Loved it, and an awesome view!! »

We were on the 15th floor, with an awesome view of downtown Detroit. It's a busy place, but we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was decent. We walked to the casino, it was 10 minutes maybe. Parking was convenient, but drop your bags off first.

« Best Western in Windsor - Not worth the money »

Came here thanksgiving weekend - Bars were OK, not very lively - The view is beautiful but I am sure the view at the casino is just as lovely; would have stayed there had my partner not forgotten his ID. They say the parking is free, they try to charge you thereafter for parking when you have already left the hotel Hotel tried to charge me TWICE for my stay because they are unorganized and clearly incompetent in the hotel business. The receptionist even had the audacity to say sternly ' you owe us money ' . Sorry I am a working professional and last time I checked, I paid my dues the day of. Ten minutes later she apologized after reviewing records and said although she tried to get into my account to take out money - and was unsuccessful because it was not authorized - the 20$ she did manage to charge to my card, only $6 will be refunded because parking... I have stayed in many hotels for business or travel, Best western in Windsor was the most hassle I have had to endure. I got a room with a king-sized bed - the rooms are very small, similar to hotels you would find in NYC and despite the height, traffic from below can be heard. I will not be returning nor recommending this hotel to those who visit Windsor

« Great Rooms, Awesome Views of Water, Lousy Breakfast »

My friends and I came here for a girls weekend. The hotel itself is very nice, great rooms, good service, beautiful views of the waterfront, convenient location, but the breakfast was definitely lacking. They advertise it as a full breakfast, and in essence it is. They have warm dishes, including waffles which were good, as well as your usual cold cereal, toast, bagels, some apples and pears. My complaint was with the eggs, which I don't think were really eggs. I think they were some kind of powder mix because the texture was strange. They also had sausage, which were great big fat links that were awful! We didn't even eat them the second morning.

    « Detroit fun Canada Price's »

Family went to a Detroit Red Wings game and stayed at the BW in Windsor. Great choice. Wonderful breakfast. Kids enjoyed the simple pool. View from our room was to die for of the Detroit skyline. And prices were well below that of the US competition. Will stay again if I'm up that way.

    « Nice »

Really enjoyed my two night stay here. The pool and workout area has a beautiful view. The room was clean and large with very comfortable bed and bedding. The breakfast was amazing with a large variety from fresh-made waffles to eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereals and pastries. The tea and coffee offered all day was also appreciated. The staff was perfect and I would love to go back one day. The only negative thing I can say is that the parking is across the street in a city garage and you have to pay extra for that. All in all, 5 stars.

    5
    « great view »

We stayed at this hotel for one night. We were not expecting such a nice room with a great view of the river. We wish we could have stayed longer. Staff are soo friendly and helpful. It has a great breakfast. So much to choose from.

« Convenient to the casino, performing arts centre, greyhound »

I was at this hotel for business for two nights. The check-in was smooth and an upgrade was provided upon request. I was on the 12th floor and had a view of the Detroit skyline. My room had a queen bed. The layout is a little unusual and there is not a comfortable place to watch the television due to the angle of the bed. As well, without drawing the curtain properly, you will be sharing the view with your neighbour! The desk was large enough to work at, fridge worked well and ice was on the same floor. The hotel was clean. The breakfast area is very busy in the morning, offered scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, waffles (pre-made in a warmer) and make yourself, juices, coffee, tea, fresh fruit and hot and cold cereals. The staff are very good about replenishing all areas. The parking was a bit of an issue, you must exit the front lobby entrance, make your way along a one way street to find the parking lot at the back of the hotel. I opted to pay the extra for the onsite parking. The alternative offered is in the parking garage across the street from the backdoor parking lot. Staff were pleasant at all interactions.

    « Birthday Trip! »

I went here for my friends birthday weekend and it was perfect! Very nice and clean and the service was friendly. It was also right down the road from the strip (walking distance) which saved us gas, the trouble of paying for parking, and we got to enjoy everything differently. 10/10 would do again.

« Yes there were bed bugs »

I usually check before I book a room, but this was done by a colleague. If I had checked, I would not have stayed here. I was there for just one evening and when I got home, I found the tell-tale sign of a bed bug bite on my wrist. 3 bites in a row. Extremely itchy. Room 808. Crossing my fingers I didn't bring any home.

« If you like a little peace and quiet, stay here!!! »

Last trip to Windsor I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, but it was full of 19 and 20 year old kids wanting to go bar hopping. The Best Western is for ADULTS, and is better priced, no drunken teenagers. If you want a spectacular view and a peaceful night's sleep, stay here. Only two things they need to improve, which is not a deal breaker for me. 1) put exhaust fans in the bathrooms 2) the "full" breakfast needs much improvement, as it is basically already cold before it even gets on your plate. Upside: the staff is fantastic, great fitness room and the internet didn't crash on me one time. I will be staying there again.

Had a wonderful experience at the Best Western Plus Waterfront Hotel. Great staff always willing to help out. Hotel very busy but handled it very well and with professionalism. Breakfast was delicious! Lots to choose from. Will stay again and will definitely recommend. The view Amazing.

The room was very clean and the staff was super friendly!! This location had a very inviting atmosphere... The bartender Audrey was very nice along with the young waitress working with her. We will definitely be back for another stay.

« GREAT ROOM AND STAFF »

Booked a room for a Friday night. The staff and room were gorgeous. The king bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Room so clean. The view was out of this world. Coffee in room was premium and all amenities were upscale. A big thank you to Amelia who helped in the booking of this property. She was outstanding.

The Hotel overlooked the Detroit skyline and was close to the downtown Windsor business core. The breakfast has a large variety of options and was plentiful. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and check-in was quick.

« An OK stay at best »

The only compliment I have about the hotel is its view (we're on the 21st floor and it's river front). At check-in, the guy at the front desk literally made me wait for a good 5 minutes or so, because he apparently had to finish some unfinished stuff for someone else. While he "apologized", he didn't say that with any eye contact, so to me, that really couldn't count and he really didn't meant whatsoever. It was really just to acknowledge my standing right in front of him waiting and saying "I know you're here waiting but you'll just have to wait until I finish". Then the so called "newly renovated" room really isn't that new at all. It even still has the stale smell! Then at night, when we tried to turn on the heater, it instantly smelled liked burning, literally like something's on fire kind of burning. So strong that I was even worried that the fire alarm would go off. We had to turn on the AC to get rid of the burning smell. Then came the breakfast time in the morning. I was looking for something similar to that at Hampton's, since it's hot breakfast. Oh my wasn't it just so disappointing. The scramble egg was beyond bland, and there's no salt and pepper (unless I completely missed it). I didn't try any of the bread or English muffin, as there's no while wheat/ grain options available. (I didn't try the sausages either to be fair) It was so bland that I almost wanted to stop by at a Tim Horton's for another breakfast. I'd not recommend or return next time.

Everything was so good but a little bit dark in the room. Elevator has some problem... please check them.... Bleakfast was good but how about prepare an Oriental food...... The coffee in the lobby was very impressive. There was not information about city...like maps ...

Pros: beautiful riverside location; friendly and helpful check-in staff; nice, modern room; close to tunnel or bridge to U.S.; parking garage close by Cons: Exterior could use an update; Breakfast - really nice breakfast room that serves very mediocre food (rubber eggs, pale bacon, cardboard waffles) on paper plates with tiny plastic utensils and plastic juice cups. Is it too much to ask to have REAL plates and cutlery?

« Beautiful View of the Park and Waterfront »

Hubby and I decided to stay at the Best Western Waterfront Hotel in Windsor as we were going to see the Alice Cooper Concert at Caesars. This hotel is really nice. Our view was amazing. Our room was clean, comfortable and as we were on the 17th floor, we had an amazing view of the Detroit river and park below. I will definitely stay here again if we ever go back to Windsor. Service was great and the free breakfast was filling. There was always coffee and tea in the lobby and a coffee pot and fridge in our room.

    « Great View. »

The view is beautiful from the top floor . Gardens in the park are incredible. I wanted to keep the blinds open the entire time we were in the room. The skyline in Detroit at night is amazing . The bed was comfort and the coffee was great. Only one issue is the elevators are not all running so going down I waited 15 min and stopped on every floor. Not fun if your trying to get to breakfast . Left the room at 9:45 and got down for breakfast at 10:05 and of course it is all gone. I did like the hotel and will stay here again.

    « Not worth it!!!! »

After staying at the best western we will not return for any visits to windsor. Rooms were old looking. Newer items but still old. They still have the older model wall mount ac units which are loud and poor at best. There are 3 elevators and you wait a long time for one. We were on the 15th floor so not much of a option but to wait. There is no lobby bar or restaurant to eat at or have a drink. Counter staff were not happy to be there. We checked in at about 3pm on Friday afternoon the 30th and staff was miserable. Not at all worth the almost 200bucks to stay.

    « Great hotel »

Stayed here for a family wedding in Windsor. Very nice clean room and hotel. Beds were super comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was horrible - how scrambled can taste so bad and be served as such was unbelievable. Would have loved to be able to pay for a good breakfast. Complimentary should not equal bad. But we did not come for the breakfast. We would definitely come back for the hotel. Service and employees were friendly and quick.

« Great view and great beds »

We stayed here on our way to the States. We took the 24hour special for $129 night. Great rate and beautiful view. The beds are awesome. Very comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel. Right beside it is the Keg. Perfect service.

    « View - simply stunning »

Attended a 3 day conference in August. Reception area was welcoming, check in was fast. Room was clean and wonderfully cool as it was 33 Degrees every day. The view from my room was the skyline of Detroit and was breathtaking.

    « Great hotel with a view »

Went to Windsor for a show and booked the Best Western to stay over. The room was great and had a great view of river and the city of Detroit. The staff were friendly and the complementary breakfast was great. There is no on-premises parking but there is a parking lot across the street and the hotel will provide a parking permit for your stay for an additional cost which is charged to the room.

« Great beds, poor service. »

Stayed for 4 nights for a family wedding. The beds were absolutely lovely - the best so far. Unfortunately the air conditioning was noisy, & the desk staff were less than helpful. Standard answer for every question was "no" or "I don't know ". And really?? Poor quality paper plates and flimsy plastic cutlery in the dining room??

« Fantastic views of detroit »

We stayed here for a friends wedding. The room was spacious and with fantastic views across the river to Detroit. Breakfast was chaotic on the Monday as it was Labor Day, and the hotel needs to be more prepared for busy days. Location was great and hotel very clean. I just loved the view

Went here for any over night trip to see a show at the casino. Lobby was very nice, modern and clean. Check in was a breeze with a pleasant staff. Room very comfortable, nice bed, and plenty of space. Standard bathroom, nothing bad about it, nothing over the top. The free breakfast was decent and a surprise since in most cities you are paying for your breakfast. The location, as mentioned in previous reviews is great. Close to many restaurants and only about a 10 minute walk to the casino. I will defiantly stay here again when visiting Windsor.

    « Beautiful Hotel »

We really enjoyed our stay here - the hotel/room were beautifully appointed. We had a room with a river view which was super. The décor of the room was fabulous; colours, drapes, bed linen, wallpaper pictures. It was very clean as was the whole hotel. The staff were very pleasant, welcoming and eager to serve, especially Stephanie who helped us tremendously with our dining requirement. The breakfast room/lounge was very roomy and designed to accommodate a large number of guests. The breakfast was super; food fresh and plentiful. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Windsor for a concert. It was the perfect location for a concert at Caesar's - we were able to walk there and back.

    « Amazing Location! »

Focusing on the positives, this hotel is perfectly situated and has breathtaking views. The Windsor riverfront continues to improve and kudos to parks and rec for making it so beautiful and usable. This hotel has accommodating and friendly staff and a very generous breakfast. The suite I stayed in was large and comfortable but could use some refreshing. I liked the large tv and a quality bed.

We stopped in at this hotel on our way to Toronto. Great clean renovated room. The tv was not clear and the sound was bad. Need new TV. Great breakfast options and presentation. The eggs were cooked so dry and the bacon was way under-cooked.

« Mom and Daughter reminiscing trip »

I am writing this review while we are still staying at The B W Windsor .... The Good ; Most of the staff are wonderful Audrey and all the other staff in the kitchen go above and beyond to help make you feel comfortable in fact Audrey and I have become friends , any staff we met in the hallways where very polite and helpful and our house keeper on the 17 floor is just such a sweet lady and very good at her job, Stephanie at the front desk is another wonderful employees. The not so good ; There are a few staff at the front desk seem a bit more intarested in there own doing then helping guest ( this has happened more then twice as I would not mention if it where less ) VERY DISAPPOINTED; With there advertising team , it states there is a Bar /Restaurant There is not ! not yet, they have been saying for ages soon soon so the staff tell us . one of the reasons we booked our 10 night stay here is because there was a Bar/Restaurant so if we just wanted to stay home we could , My Mom has a walker so not easy for us to walk to far so we need to get a taxi just to eat which adds up plus we wanted to have some night to just stay in , we have not said anything to staff as its not there fault its head office and Advertising staff as on the web site it states there is a Bar/Restaurant , so please either change your website or give a gift voucher per night for the inconvenience. But all and all we are loving our stay here.?????? and that's because of the great staff they have here .

« Beautiful Interiors but not worth it »

Beautiful lobby and rooms and elevators, Friendly staff and beautiful decor for a refurbished hotel. ( It used to be the Raddison,we had stayed there and had a pleasant stay at $100 a night) The beds must be the same ones only older and about as comfortable as sleeping in the car. Breakfast was good and lots of variety but at $189 a night state taxes plus room tax was outrageous Its noisy and we were awakened by loud talking all through out the night and e were on the 19th floor. I wouldn't stay there again if it was the last place on earth. They had just sprayed the room with some kind of insecticide not really strong but still not a pleasant smell. The heater cooling was noisy and only made the odors worse.

« Good location on the riverfront »

Location was excellent. Right on the river front and close to downtown area. Parking across the street in garage was convenient but was an extra charge. We were not informed of the construction on the front of the hotel which caused some check in problems. There was a large wedding party at the hotel and they monopolized the breakfast area. The hotel made no accommodations for the large crowd. Indoor pool looked clean although we did not use it.

    « Top Notch »

First time stay at this hotel. Very impressed. Front desk staff were very helpful and check in was a breeze. Room was spotless and loved the added touch of a makeup wipe in the bathroom. Had a river view room with king bed and it was spectacular. We will be back.

Nicely situated hotel, great views of the river, riverfront and Detroit. Staff are very friendly and helpful, but the free breakfast is awful. You deserve better, go buy breakfast somewhere else. Otherwise, nice place.

« Great location and value »

We stayed here to see a concert at Caesars Windsor. The hotel is in an excellent location, our room had a panoramic view that was awesome, the bed was comfortable but a small "queen" and the room was clean. Parking is $12.00 and located behind the hotel, very easy to find. The breakfast was okay, the hot selections scrambled eggs, sausage and coffee were gross but everything else was good, the attendant was very attentive with stocking up. Would definitely stay again, for the price it was great.

« Great location, great value »

Spent an evening here to break up a trip from Milton to Chicago. Great location with fantastic views of the riverfront and the Detroit skyline. Room was very clean and updated. Beds are a very personal / subjective matter, these particular ones weren't my cup of tea (too rigid and high in the centre), but clearly others have not had any issues. Parking required some navigation for the walk back to the hotel, just follow the signs and you'll be fine - or walk directly from the parking building to the hotel at the street level. Additional $12 fee, my vehicle was safe and undisturbed. Free breakfast was more than adequate and appreciated. All the stuff you would expect - juices, cereals, bacon/sausage, eggs, bread etc... The value and location make this hotel easy to recommend.

« Terrible service, making a bad situation worse »

Booked the hotel in March using a Trip Advisor-recommended online travel site, Hoteling. Was coming to Windsor for a friend's wedding; there seemed to be a lot going on the weekend of our visit so the wedding party was not able to block enough rooms for out of town guests at this hotel, and it was recommended that all guests try to stay here. Bestwestern.com did not show availability for Saturday night and calling the hotel direct didn't provide a different result. Hoteling, a company that came up in a search on Trip Advisor's site (not an ad that linked out), showed two rooms available at $130/night; a friend and I booked right away, as we were both in the wedding party and wanted our spouses to be at the same hotel. Fast forward 6 months to September and we arrive Friday afternoon to check in, only to find out that our rooms were cancelled by Hoteling, who apparently has gone bankrupt. Hoteling had already charged our credit cards for our rooms. This definitely was our problem and we cannot and do not fault the hotel for this. The hotel staff seemed to have knowledge of Hoteling's bankruptcy and expected to see us, as if they had experienced this with guests before. We were advised that Hoteling had cancelled our rooms and there was not a replacement reservation made for us. A customer-focussed and proactive hotel would have contacted its guests prior to arrival, since guest personal information was on file, and asked if they were aware of the room cancellation and if they needed to have a new reservation made. Instead we were presented with the news upon arrival and told we could be accommodated Friday night but not Saturday night, as they were full. Our names would be put on a cancellation list in case someone did not show up or checked out early. Having little choice at this point and being late for the wedding rehearsal, we checked in for the one night and hoped something would open up. This fiasco had us miss the wedding rehearsal and put us in trouble with the bride and her family. We woke up Saturday morning around 7 wondering if our luck would change and we wouldn't be forced to call around town to find a new hotel. We were required to meet the groom at 9 am to prepare the day's festivities so we did not have time to mess around. I called the front desk to see if a room had become available and was told that one had indeed freed up but but it was the last one. I asked why we weren't called, being on the cancellation list, but was told that others had called ahead and taken the other rooms. I notified my friend of this and he went down to the front desk to confirm what I had already told him. He then tried looking online for options, even though I told him that he and his wife could stay in our room with one bed, if nothing could be found. Bestwestern.com showed a room available; he asked the front desk again if they had a room, since it showed online, and he was told no. He booked the room on his phone in front of the agent who then, almost immediately, said "oh look, I guess there was a room available." Problem solved. Naturally, our room rate was not the same as what we booked through Hoteling...Friday was $230 and Saturday was $260. We asked if we could have the wedding rate that was offered to other out of town guests, $170/night, and the agent chuckled to himself and said "no, that is no longer available to you and we can sell this room for $100 more than what you are already paying." I certainly agree with the principle of supply and demand, but I also agree that customer service overrides this if one values its reputation. If we weren't in a situation where our reservation was cancelled and we were standing in their doorway wondering what to do, asking a ransom rate would be in order. If you show up without a prior reservation or are booking at the last minute, you have the option to accept or pass. We weren't quite in that position, although we probably could have slept in a car or out of city limits. Situations like this show a company's true colours. Instead of taking a bad situation and coming out like a hero - calling ahead/holding a room in case we show/trying a little harder to accommodate - the Best Western Waterfront in Windsor made a bad situation worse. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone and will avoid the Best Western chain whenever possible in any city. I will also be forwarding my experience to executive colleagues who work in the automobile industry in Windsor, which is a major part of the city, so they may recommend other hotel options to visitors and vendors when visiting Windsor. And shame on Trip Advisor...they should really align themselves with better companies if allowing users to book travel through their site. Now, to try and get my original booking money back through the credit card company.

    « Always a Great Stay »

Just returned from an overnight at the Best Western Plus and once again had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff is very friendly and so helpful. In fact, remembered us from a previous visit a few years ago! We arrived earlier than we intended and they were able to put us into a room quickly. In fact, the ladies at reception contacted housekeeping and asked if they could please rush with the cleaning of our room. The room was very clean and we had a fabulous view of the waterfront. The buffet breakfast was quite substantial and again, staff were on hand to help. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will return. Thanks for a great stay.

« My recent stay at Best Western in Windsor Canada »

Excellent location and excellent hotel. Very clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was very convenient, and the Internet service was very good. The parking lot is right behind the main hotel building, but that did not present a problem, as the parking tower had a bridge to get to the hotel main lobby. The view was wonderful from my window.

    1
    « Not a hotel as such »

The view is really quite stunning and the room was very cheap, so I don't want to be totally negative here. It may be just right for some guests and perhaps my expectations were too high. But the hotel is not really a hotel at all, with almost no staff and offering almost no services. There's no doorman or valet parking service, with the parking arrangement in another building being confusing and difficult especially if you're travelling alone. Actually, it wouldn't be great for a family either. People park their cars right up against the front door and in the second lane, and slowly unload, leaving other cars with nowhere to go but on the busy road. Then they haul out carts for luggage themselves. It's a startling introduction. There are no bellhops. There is no room service. There is no restaurant. The front desk staff are rude. There is nothing in the mini-bar. The breakfast buffet was unspeakable; I don't know how it's possible to make scrambled eggs that bad. Water came out of the orange juice machine. There was no staff to clean up the tables. (The plates are paper and the utensils are plastic, which seems really wasteful.) The ceilings are so low that I don't think a really tall person could stay here. The air conditioning was so loud in the room that it was difficult to talk but at least it functioned. I could go on. It's a place to stay overnight, and the park outside the hotel is lovely. But that's it. I now see why people like AirBnb. If a hotel offers you nothing, why not stay in a smaller more comfortable place for less money? So stay here by all means, but it's eccentric and not really a hotel at all, more like a highway roadside motel but taller.

« Always a pleasure to stay at »

We have stayed here several times over the last couple years, recently this summer while enjoying one of the festivals in downtown Windsor. The hotel has changed names and is now owned and operated by Best Western and the renovations are fantastic. We always like staying in the panorama rooms and they have a view second to none. The staff have always been extremely helpful and the rooms clean.

Great Hotel with a nice view of Detroit. Pool is good but the whole pool is only 3.5 feet deep, There is also a sauna. There is a big breakfast too. It is also very close to the Detroit/Windsor Tunnel Bus and Caesars.

« Great Stay by the river »

Best Western Riverfront is an excellent hotel. All rooms have an amazing view of the river and Detroit skyline. Breakfast is included in the stay and was very fresh and hot. No complaints about this hotel will return next time I am in Windsor.

« Very comfortable but skip the breakfast »

A group of six spent our weekend in Windsor to attend an Art show in Lasalle just outside the city. It was a very busy hotel with eight weddings! Our two rooms were good. Nice beds and it was clean. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Nice view of the waterfront despite the rainy stormy weekend. The only two negatives were parking and the complementary breakfast. The food was not good and the parking was a city lot that was crowded. Windsor could use some more hotels.

    4
    « great room »

The rooms were comfortable and quiet and decorated nicely. The breakfast, not so great. great views of the river and Detroit. not much space at the door for checking in or loading. parking on the block behind hotel.

    « Just as advertised »

We stayed here as a more economical option to Caesars as we were going to a comedy show. The hotel is exactly as its profile states. The room was spacious and clean. The fridge was convenient and the view was pretty. The buffet breakfast is in the lobby-crowded but adequate. Directly across the street is the waterfront. You can access the walking path easily by walking across the street. The only drawback is the parking. I recommend- if the weather is ok- not to use the covered walkway. It takes you through a maze to get back to the hotel. Instead, go down to the main level of the parking garage by elevator and walk across the street.

    5
« Great rooms AND service »

King room very spacious and very comfortable bed. Friendly staff! Great complimentary breakfast and hard working kitchen manager keeping breakfast buffet fully stocked during busy times. Pricing is very reasonable, too.

    4
« Excellent view of Detroit river »

This hotel is right next to the water. You can see the Detroit river from the hotel window. It is also the closest hotel to the Adventure Bay Waterpark where you can literately walk over. The Caesar's casino is a good 2 minute walk as well. Parking is an extra charge of $12 and it is located in the public parking garage across the street. Tip for when you check in and out the hotel has a lot right behind hotel where you can load and unload luggage. Breakfast had good selection and decor was welcoming. Would stay here again if going to the waterpark.

    5
« Best view in Windsor »

The panoramic view of the river front park, the river and of downtown Detroit (especially by night) is amazing. The location puts the hotel in walking distance of everything you could want to see or do.

    « AMAZING VIEW »

We were on the 22nd floor and had view of the river and Detroit. it was our 1st time to Windsor and would stay here again. The only problem was the was an bad odor in our room but our view was the pay off for not saying anything.

    5
« Great Location and Value »

With (surprisingly) scenic views of Detroit, across the road from a riverside park, walking distance of Caesar's and a hot breakfast, there's no better value in downtown Windsor. Parking won't break the bank but is not included in your stay. The garage behind the hotel can be charged to your room if requested at check-in. Be sure to use the unloading parking spaces behind the hotel as the skyway walk connecting the hotel to the garage is out of the way and indirect (just walk across the street after parking for the night). A decent sized indoor waterpark is next door but not included. The breakfast "buffet" is the typical hot complementary selection but is a nice start to the day.

« Very nice, modern and conveniently located »

Very clean and modern upscale hotel. Wonderful views of the river and Detroit skyline. Full breakfast included. The rooms are very large but the king bed we had was too soft and bouncy. Parking is in a garage immediately behind hotel for $12 a day with in and out priveleges. Short walk to Caesars and the waterfront is right across the street.

« Hotel okay, not impressed with reservation process »

Hotel was okay. Room fine. Our Riverview was partially blocked, but that was fine as it was a last minute reservation. Bed comfy. Our issue was with our reservation. I made a last minute booking and typically steer clear of online reservations as I like to personally book. I called the hotel directly and was cut of mid-sentence by the receptionist and sent to the 1-800 line. The 1-800 line then had to locate the hotel for me and charged me more than what I found online. After asking, I was able to get a Costco membership discount. I was frustrated and accepted. Upon arriving at the hotel, I tried to upgrade to a King size bed, but this was not a simple task as "I booked through reservation line and should have done so through the hotel". Apparently the computer has a hard time altering online reservations done through the 1-800 number. The receptionist was sweet and made the effort and got me a king size bed upgrade, but the charge was more than what was posted on the internet. "There was nothing she could do." and at this point, I was frustrated and paid the extra. The other concern was with the construction in the area by the parking. I understand this may not be the hotel's area exactly, but this is the parking area that the hotel tells their guests to park at. The walkway and entrance to the lobby was horrible. The elevator was covered in debris, dust and construction supplies. I was wondering if we were even in the right place. Someone could have at least taken a vacuum to the place occasionally. My bags were covered in dust.

    4
« Very nice Best Western with Beautiful View »

Nice place, would recommend it for the views...rooms not too big but beds are very comfortable. FYI: Parking is 12$ and they do not tell you this when they tell you where to park. That is my only real criticism.

On our family vacation headed towards the states it was a wonderful stop over right downtown where there was tons of restaurants to go to. Toastys was amazing you'll have to try it if you go. « Beautiful hotel horrible front desk staff »

I was at the hotel for a week for business. When I checked in there was difficulty with my reservation. I explain the situation and show them the booking and was informed repeatedly that they didn't have the information. Having stayed at several best westerns previously I knew the information had been faxed to them prior to me being checked in and after having to argue with Angela at the front desk for 15 minutes she finally agreed to check to see if The fax that arrived. Once she did that I was able to check in. Every time I needed anything and had to speak to anyone working at the front desk it seemed like I was bothering them. The least courteous courtesy desk I have ever seen. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are great. I will never stay at this hotel again. In 10 years of travel for work and hundreds of hotels this is the worst by far experience I've ever had.

    « Great location »

Close to most things and across the road are beautiful parks and walking paths. Hotel rooms are quite nice, but our view was mainly a brick wall. A skyline view of Detroit would of been nice. Breakfast buffet was nice and seating area well appointed. The bus terminal is just around the corner and so easy to get to Devonshire mall.

    « Summer get away »

We stayed at the Best Western Waterfront hotel. The rooms to get are the panoramic view, worth the money. The free breakfast is a busy place in the morning. You my want to pick a off time as find a seat and table is a chore. Parking in the rear parking garage across the street which costs $12.00 a day.Upon arrival drive to the rear of hotel to REGISTER and UNLOAD your car. We seen people bringing luggage out of the parking garage >Da. They need a handicap parking area on the ground level at the rear of the hotel. Also ramp onto rear of hotel .We seen several people trip over steps with luggage. A Shuttle to the casino would be a asset..We went to a show there.. We would stay again..

Great location if going to Detroit or casinos. Beautiful room, very romantic and what a 360 degree view of Detroit river. Bed was cosy and pillows a little soft. Very friendly staff, especially during breakfast buffet. They kept everything clean and made sure to replenish anything that was empty. Will definitely be biditing this hotel again.

Friendly service, clean rooms and a great view through dirty windows. Close to park and casino, and dining. The walk from the parking garage was a little creepy. All things considered, well worth the price.

    « Geat Deal »

I booked this hotel through expedia because it was chraper than going through hotel website. The hotl was perfectly located, as we were only there for the Waterpark. So between waterpark, waterfront walking, and parking lot, it was all a 3 minute walk from hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly. They remembered our names each day we walked throught lobby. Lobby is basic but beautiful and clean. Rooms were spacious enough for my family of 3. Wifi is free, automatic connection. We had rental car, there are limited restaurants within walking distance. The local restaurants were not very appealing. my family ate at them due to lack of options but were not impressed. So you will need a car for better food options. Hotel is in front of bus terminal local and greyhound but there were no problems or concerns with that.

« Could be better, maybe? »

My first title was going to be Worst Western, really. I've stayed other places and felt when I arrived comfortable, no angst or anything. Glenn assisted us with our room reservations and was told as I had requested a king size bed, also requested a microwave in the room, wasn't there upon arrival. I've never seen a small KING size bed until this weekend at this hotel. There wasn't any fussing because the property was sold out because of a baseball tournament. My children waited until Saturday to get in the pool because the property was overrun with kids, barefoot all over the place including the pool. The water was gray and murky, really. They didn't get in I couldn't blame them. Glenn informed me when we were leaving that was there version of a king size bed. Their version. The views were okay, nothing else because of the angle of the room. Breakfast was okay. I'll definitely come back to Canada its wonderful, the people, shopping, hospitality outside the hotel was great. But I will look for a better hotel or just drive on to Toronto. Stephanie , hotel clerk, was very helpful, friendly, gave us good directions to the mall and restaurants.

« BEST VALUE IN WINDSOR »

Partial view of the river, very friendly reception, continental breakfast & clean, professional hotel.. You can walk downtown for entertainment/food or walk right across the street for a visit to riverside. I think this is the best value in all of Windsor. My only complaint is lack of parking, otherwise a fantastic hotel!! Would recommend & return!

    5
« Wonderful place to stay »

We really enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival. A wonderful surprise. Hotel was close to restaurants and local attractions, and boasted a beautiful view of the river. Would definitely recommend this hotel and can not wait to stay there again.

« Great views and nice breakfast buffet »

Nice employees, very helpful. Great view of Detroit. Rooms clean and comfortable with room to move around, not cramped like some hotels. Nice breakfast buffet, if you get there early. Price was great too! Close to restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. Riverwalk runs right in front of hotel (across the street). Only draw back is parking is behind hotel, but there was a walkway across.

    « Great view »

Comfortable beds, blackout curtains, room faces the river for a nice view of the bridge or the casino. Room has fridge and coffee maker. Good sized room with chair and separate desk/chair, nice big modern TV. Bathroom had all the amenities including bar soap but not liquid body soap. This hotel was previously a Hilton and was sold (downgraded) to Best Western. Parking is extra and costs $14/day at the garage in the back of the hotel. Easy walk to riverfront and the Ouellette which is the main street and the casino (10 minutes). We stayed two nights and breakfast was a chore, lots of people in one area and it was always congested. They had scrambled eggs, pork sausage, cereal, waffle maker (they actually need two because the wait was always four or five deep), cereal, yogurt, bread, bagels. Did not see danishes but did find one lonely croissant. Would stay there again

« Great location for a short family trip »

Just enjoying a brief overnight stay while we were going to visit Adventure Bay. We opted for this hotel, despite being a bit pricier, and seemingly not having any tickets for the water park (more on that later). Check in was smooth, despite the construction out front, and to our pleasant surprise, they did have discounted tickets to the water park. The room was modern and clean, maybe a bit cramped, but it would easily work for one night with the 4 of us. One small complaint, while the window view did overlook the river and Detroit, it was so foggy, it was difficult to get a really nice, clear view. The pool was excellent, not many people there so we had it largely to ourselves. As other have commented, the breakfast was average at best, the basic yogurt and fruit all worked but the pastries, eggs and meat were both kept in limited supply and not the greatest tasting, though edible. Go for the location and pool, not the breakfast.

    « Windsor - Best Western »

In general the staff is well appointed, service fast and satisfactory, quick service at the front desk. Parking is remote, across the street - issue in bad weather. Breakfast menu a little bit limited, when more guests - need to wait for re-supply of items consmed

An excellent hotel in the heart of Windsor. Clean spacious room overlooking the Detroit River. Friendly staff, great amenities. The free breakfast was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely return. Thank you for making our stay pleasant.

« Never Again at this Hotel »

Piss poor quality for the price paid and the experience for uncaring staff. Wet moldy smelling carpet for the ten foot entrance into room and lack of concern from the hotel staff. Did not offer to me to change rooms, nor even a token of compensation for putting up with the smell and wetness. Only provide a very loud noisy fan that will not dry the carpet overnight. The carpet was wet enough to need professional water extraction.

« Good location, nice view! »

We stayed at the Best Western Plus Waterfront hotel for three nights. We are a family of four and booked two rooms. Originally, we planned to stay just one night, but added two more the day of check-in due to last-minute changes to our accommodation plans. We were certainly appreciative of the hotel's ability to accommodate us at the same price on such late notice. We paid an average of $320/night, via Expedia. The first night was booked two months in advance. The rooms were maybe a little smaller than a typical Best Western, but the view of the Detroit River was spectacular. We had a lot of business in Windsor and didn't spend much time in our rooms. The rooms were very comfortable and modern. They had bar fridges, which were convenient. The room booking included breakfast, which included a good selection of hot and cold food. We used it all three mornings. I'm told that the bathtub plugs didn't work in either room. The rooms included Wi-Fi at no additional charge. Staff were all very friendly. Check-in was a little tricky because they were resurfacing their driveway, which meant we had to park in the driveway of the building next door and leave at least one person with the car. In addition, the overnight parking is across the street out the back. It is connected by a walkway, but it is a long, winding route through seemingly abandoned corridors. The trip required an elevator ride part way through. We also found after check-out that our parking pass had expired the previous day, but we were able to get that sorted out easily. Overall, the Best Western met our needs. I would stay here again and probably wouldn't spend much time looking for a better place to stay. Given that 4 out of 5 is effectively my highest rating, I wish I could give it a 3.5. This is definitely higher than a 3.

    4
« Good hotel, good view, great price »

The staff was polite, check in and out were quick and easy. The room was a decent size, not huge but good enough for our group. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The only issue I have is that the sign out front doesn't clearly mark it as a Best Western. We had a difficult time finding it. Is within walking distance to the casino, which is what we wanted as we were attending a concert there.

    2
« More like Best Western Minus »

Pros: 1. Staff was courteous 2. View of the river and Detroit was nice Cons: 1. The hotel signage outside was not clearly marked as a Best Western, so I could not find it. 2. If you need to get a good rest, don't stay here. Too many kids and partying people all around making lots of noise, even into the wee hours. 3. Breakfast was awful.

    1
    « Very poor »

The only good thing about this place is the view over the river. The staff are rude and unhelpful and the hotel has no bar. The breakfast was inedible. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless the location was essential. I guess that's because Best Western is a franchise and this place is a pretty poor example.

    5
« The BEST Best Western »

This is the best Best Western my husband and I have stayed at. The free breakfast had some healthy choices which was a plus for us, though it was a bit of a madhouse during peak breakfast hours. There were lots of places to sit though. The room was very sizeable, and the bed was comfortable. The fridge in the room was a good size, and the coffee maker was standard. The shower had good water pressure and nice hot water. Great view out the window. We were in room 1502 with a partial riverview. The fitness room isn't huge, but it's a cool layout with a full view of the waterfront. The pool is on the 3rd floor with the fitness room, and it is a nice setup though it's only 3.5 ft deep. The women's restroom/locker room in the pool area had a nice sauna and changing room area. There was also a nice waterfront boardwalk. We stayed here after seeing a show at Caesars, and the front desk was staffed even after midnight to check us in. Parking is $12 with in/out privileges in a garage behind the hotel.

    « Best Best Western »

This location is hands down the best Best Western location I have stayed at. It is not in a normal motel setting. It is a nice high rise hotel at a solid 3.5 stars, closing in on 4 stars. Great location, right at the Windsor water front. Water front has a nice board walk and a great view of Detroit skyline. Friendly front desk staff. The setting of the breakfast area is spacious, bright with a river view. Breakfast staff is efficient, but less enthusiastic than the front desk staff. All rooms have river view, either facing the Ambassador Bridge or Downtown Detroit. Some rooms in the middle have full river view. Very comfortable beds. Parking is additional $12 plus tax in a covered parking lot behind the hotel. If you are visiting Detroit or Windsor, this hotel is a great choice.

« Great hotel in WIndsor, ON Canada »

Just experience it, you'll love it. Everything is clean, modern, proper, the view is great, location is prime, it's reasonably priced, one of the best experiences I have ever had. If you ever are in Windsor, this is the hotel you should be staying at.

    « Great Stay »

We were very pleased with the BWP in Windsor. Hotel staff was great at check in. They even provided a map with good restaurants in the area as we'd never stayed in Windsor before. The view from our room across the Detroit River was excellent. I'd recommend this hotel.

« Good place to Stay »

The BW Waterfront is in a good central location for downtown Windsor. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Most of the rooms have a great view of the Detroit skyline. I frequent this hotel 2 or 3 times a week and I have found the staff to be very helpful. Not as fancy as the Casino but half the price. Definitely my preferred place to stay.

I like to stay here, we have been coming to Windsor often as our daughter goes to the university here , the last 4 years , it has changed hands a few times and don't notice a lot of changes, front entrance was closed for repairs this time . and some staff maybe aren't the best but that I think also changes frequently . nice to stay on the river though , thank you

    « Best Value - Stay »

The view from th ehotel is fantastic. The Hotel is great, and its location is wonderful. I had a niece stay. The 2 issues that I may mention are 1. the fitness room was unavailable from 7am- to 5pm ,2. the front of the hotel is in renovation, so there is a problem of parking before check-in.

    3
« Great location. Rooms need a makeover. »

Conveniently located across Dieppe Gardens, the hotel offers a great view of the river and Detroit skyline. It is only minutes away from the Caesar casino resort and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable but furniture are outdated and walls are paper thin. We had loud neighbours playing music in the middle of the night in the rooms on both side of ours. We had to call reception at 2am to ask them to ask these guests to stop, which they did. It probably happens quite often. Breakfast was blah. Crunched space which is not practical when you have large groups showing up for breakfast (there was a school group that day). Scrambled eggs and sausages, bagels and cereals. That was pretty much it.

    5
« Nice, clean rooms with stunningview of the Detroit river »

We booked two rooms for one night - both rooms were clean and tidy. Both rooms also had a stunning view of the Detroit river. In-room fridge. Comfortable beds. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning a trip to Windsor. Centrally located downtown, next to the river.

    « Will return »

We really enjoyed our stay at the BWP. Apon arriving there was construction out front (we were not aware of this) but we simply pulled up in front of the building beside and went and checked in. Lady at front desk was great..gave us the 20th floor and the two queen beds we requested. She said 1 bed rooms had Panorama view...ours had a partial bit it was still great! At night the lights from across the river was awesome. Room was clean/comfortable...a bit smaller then we are use to but well decorated. The bathroom had all the amenities plus I liked how they even had a travel size make up remover wipes. Breakfast....buffet style: yoghurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, fruit, bagels, toast etc. A good way to start the day. Pool..never used but looked @..on 3rd floor. Didn't seem too big. We would stay here again for sure.

    3
« Best Western Plus Windsor »

Front of the building was under construction, work out rooms were unavailable, water pressure in the basin was nearly non- existent and we had no idea at the time of booking on-line that parking was $12 extra which would have been the cost to stay at the casino where parking was free and that was the main reason for our visit to Windsor. Plus, after paying for the parking, we had trouble with the tickets issued to us coming back invalid.

    4
    « Fireworks Spectacular »

Booked a panorama view room for the Ford Fireworks Show for July 4th. Although the hotel was going through some renovations at the time, having a front row seat to watch the fireworks from my room (actually from the bed) was well worth it. The night weather was beautiful but I opted to watch from my room vs. going outside down by the river across the street. Hotel is ideally located as I walked one block over after the show and was in downtown Windsor. You have to get your name on a list in order to be able to book a room. Booking starts in April of the year you want to go. I hesitate giving this info out because I do not want you to book my room. LOL. Watching the fireworks from the Canadian side gives you the Detroit skyline in the background. Just cannot beat it. Perhaps I will see you after next year's show when going out to get a cocktail is the proper thing to do. Oh Canada!

    « Nice room - great view »

Pleasantly surprised with the view of the water! The building is built so all rooms face the water- which is amazing! The bed were comfy an room clean. We only stayed for the one night to see a concert at the casino (which is walking distance). The breakfast was nothing special but it's free.. We will more than likely be back!

« Waterfront location is great but summer construction..... »

Our room was pleasant and roomy enough for a 2 night stay. We did not notice any noise from neighbours or the hallway despite being almost sold out. Our view of the river was also very pleasant. The dining area is roomy and breakfast was pretty standard as far as what you would expect from hotels offering breakfast as part of the room rate. I must say that I would prefer hotels that offer a sit down breakfast service over the fend for yourself at the buffet options that are so prevalent at most hotels now. While I appreciate having a bite to eat upon wakening, I don't appreciate watery eggs, salt bomb sausages and crumbly bread with no taste whatsoever. It's fine to grab a juice, coffee, muffin and perhaps a banana but when I sit down for a hot breakfast, I would prefer to pay for higher quality menu items and have them prepared and served to my liking. One other note, which will be a temporary issue, is the construction going on at the front of the hotel. The construction site and ongoing work blocked the sign and we missed the hotel on the first two passes. There was no indication on the website or booking site that construction was going on.

    « Spring/Summer Weekend »

What was initially built as a Hilton Hotel in the 80's, this hotel has nicely renovated rooms from past Hotelier with much needed and updated Lobby area. Don't expect a lot of frills but all rooms are a decent size with incredible views. The breakfast included is nothing to write about but good for a quick nibble before you head out. Riverfront parkway and sculpture gardens are directly across the street, definitely go for a nice stroll, jog/ run, bicycle or blade. Overall a good location, comfortable rooms. Lots of kids in the pool.

« Great Hotel in Great Location! »

We stayed here for 2 nights for a family getaway and we had 2 rooms with outstanding views, ample and generous space, and we will visit again. I was very satisfied with the customer service and the breakfast was thoroughly enjoyed by my family.

    2
« Not the 'Plus' you were hoping for »

Needs a lot of improvement. Staff needs to be well trained about hotel's reward promotion. The breakfast is EXTREMELY disappointing. Although there were good things like comfortable beds and pillows, the hotel lacks many of the 'Plusses' it tries to sell to consumers. But Windsor doesn't have a lot of hotel options, some other chains are building new properties. Perhaps that will make BW Plus to go an extra mile for their guests.

« Good if away on business. Reasonable cost, »

Good place to stay if on business. Comfortable bed, clean room, clean bathroom. While not a 5 star hotel, it nevertheless hits all the bases I care about when travelling on business. Parking is a bit inconvenient as you have to park in the parking garage across the street which makes carrying things just that much more difficult.

    5
    « Surprisingly Wonderful! »

Had never stayed here before but had an extremely nice stay. Came from Detroit to watch Fireworks from the Canadian side of the river with 2 young men. We had a great visit. The location was perfect for watching from the room or going outside. The staff was warm and friendly. Everyone was in a warm spirit. Will definitely return for mini-vacations in the future. Complimentary breakfast was a real treat!

« 55th Birthday mini vacation in Windsor »

It was my 55th birthday coming up and so I decided to treat myself to a mini vacation. I booked a junior suite at this hotel because I love being so close to the water plus I love watching the ship traffic. Check in was very fast and efficient and I was up to my room in no time. The room itself was huge with lots of windows overlooking the Detroit river and the skyline of Detroit. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on and I was wishing I could have fit that mattress into my car to take home with me. The maid service was done early and properly. The only complaint i would have is after parking in the parking garage across the street behind the hotel the route that you have to follow to get back to the hotel does not make you feel very comfortable. It meanders though a very rundown part of an adjoining building and I would not want to take that route late at night. Other then that I would highly recommend this hotel.

    5
    « Beautiful!! »

This brand new hotel has large, clean, well-appointed rooms and has a gorgeous panoramic view of the Detroit River and the Detroit skyline. You are in the heart of the city of Windsor and near three beautiful gardens. The hotel restaurant is not yet open, but will be a wonderful addition. The breakfast buffet is a nice amenity. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for someplace to stay in Windsor.

« Good stay and nice view »

The room was okay... Standard with nice view of the river and park. Check in was fast but it was difficult making a reservation. I had called 4 times because the first 3 times I called to say that I wanted to make a reservation only to have to be put on hold each time I called in for over 15 mins each before I hung up. Yes I timed it. Finally the 4th time I called Melanie had helped me book a room. I would've booked it on their website but there was an error on their site and couldn't book online.

« Expected more from Best Western »

The room was nice enough, although dated (there were nails & screws in the wall for some reason) and the breakfast buffet was good, but everything else was disappointing. We waited a long time just to check in as three employees were helping one person that didn't even have a reservation at the hotel! They were all trying to help him find other lodging while I waited... and waited. The room itself smelled horrible. There was a hockey tournament in the area and we were right in between 2 rooms of hockey players. The room smelled like a hockey bag, and when the teams arrived back in the early hours of the morning, it was very noisy. When I complained about the smell at the front desk shortly after checking in, I was hoping for either a room switch, or a cost reduction, but neither was offered. The only offer was for someone to come up and spray air refresher in the room. The parking is across the street at the back of the hotel, which is very inconvenient, especially on a cold, rainy day. Our room was advertised as a river view - which was only partially true. The view was mostly blocked by a large wall. Definitely not worth the cost, and would not book there again. I expected much more from a Best Western hotel - a chain I would usually trust.

At this time I would not recommend this hotel, maybe when all the construction is completed. The breakfast was not laid out in an organized manner but it was fresh and very good. The air condition cove fell off and I repaired it, The ceiling in one area was peeling.

    « Expected Better »

Stayed one night. Entrance was under construction. Had to find rear entrance. Parking is terrible. We used the sleeper sofa. Was terrible. Had to take the mattress off and put it on the floor. Would not stay again unless we had two beds. It was the only room available. We were there for a wedding next door. I mentioned the sofa at check out. They didn't seem to concerned. It a shame because our view was beautiful.??

    « Great View! »

We stayed in one of the "Panoramic River View" rooms. The view was amazing. Who knew the waterfront and skyline of Detroit was so beautiful! The breakfast wasn't the best but it's free and it's a hot meal to get your day started. We chose this hotel more for it's location. Most things are within a few blocks radius.

« overnight stay to see the Blue Jays in Detroit »

we picked this hotel as it was very convenient and close to the border for crossing over to Detroit. We were very pleased to find it was close to the Casino. and also the Bus Station. We were able to catch a Shuttle Bus across the border and for the first time went through the Tunnel to get over to Detroit.

    « Amazing View »

I would recommend this hotel as it has a great view, friendly staff and easy to get places. You can walk right out of the hotel to get to restaurants or down to the waterfront for a great walk. The only thing it didn't have was a hot tub, but the pool room and work out center over look the river.

« Decent hotel, great location »

Since BW took over this hotel, it seems like they're trying to overhaul it, but it's still very much a work in progress. There is still no restaurant, and there is construction going on. The breakfast is horrible - tasteless powdered eggs and sausages are the only hot option. Otherwise, rooms are clean and comfortable, the internet actually works!, and the staff is excellent. The location is beautiful - right on the riverfront with beautiful views.

    5
    « Perfect »

We stayed one night prior to going to the Blue Jays game in Detroit. It was 10 minutes to the parking lot at the ballpark including the border crossing. The hotel was everything we expected. Nice rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent. The location on the waterfront is beautiful and it is a short walk to the casino if you are interested. Parking is $12 in the garage behind the hotel. A bit of construction at the front of the hotel was not a problem. The Keg is right next door. The best WiFi we have seen in a long time.

    « Beware it will cost $12more »

Hotel was nice and clearly renovated at some point. Looks a bit tired in spots (furniture in lounge / restaurant, elevator) There were small annoyances. Our room was supposed to accommodate 4, but only had 3 of everything. (Call down to housekeeping). Parking is in an adjacent lot which was across the street. Be prepared to fork out $12 extra. That was unexpected :( Shower in pool only sprays cold water. Kids didnt like that after swimming. Knob doesnt turn to warm in ladies changeroom. Pool was nice expecially decor and loungers around pool. Very contemporary. Riverview room was nice view & coffee/tea in lounge was very nice. Bed was comfortable! Wish they would include parking. That really soured our stay. $180 for a night in Windsor is too much.

« What a view from BEST WESTERN PLUS Waterfront Hotel »

Its a great location right on the waterfront. Perfect place to ride a bike, rollerblade, walk along the water front looking out to Detroit. Close to some great restaurants along the water. Rooms are clean, breakfast is included. Hot eggs, sausage, bagels , cereals , fruit, coffee and juices.

    « No Power! »

My colleague and I were staying at this location as we were attending the Movement Music Festival in Detroit just across the way. We were attending the festival to do media coverage. During our stay was an apparent SCHEDULED maintenance on Monday, May 30. There was no power throughout the ENTIRE hotel (including the rooms) for 8 hours (9-5), and we were NOT informed upon reservation, nor upon check-in that this would be taking place, despite the fact that it was scheduled! This was extremely detrimental to our operations. We were unable to charge our phones, laptops, get ready as the room was dark, nor was there Wi-Fi. We were unable to do our jobs for media coverage! With no laptop power or Wi-Fi, we could not upload or edit photos nor write or post the articles we were required to provide. In addition, we could not take more photos as there was no way to charge our camera equipment. Had we been informed about this SCHEDULED maintenance prior, we could have made other arrangements (which should NOT be necessary in the first place, but at least it could have been done). I am extremely dissatisfied with the lack of information provided by the staff, as it affected mine and my colleague's work.

« The front staff gentleman saved a customer »

I came for a night stay, on business. The room was booked through Expedia. I was told at checkin that I was being put on 3rd floor and there is a pool there, but the view is great. Before seeing the room, I expected a lot of commotion, but didn't expect so much to be wrong as there actually was! Smell of chlorine on the floor, bad smell in the room, dated lights (and one made constant hissing/electric-gone-wrong) sounds, bad view, ugly carpet, etc. It does get better though. I went down and thankfully the gentleman (white hair, chubby) listened to my plea and put me in a different room on 14th floor. If he hadn't done that, I had decided never to return to Best Western. The next room, 1401, was perfect! These pictures are from 1401. Will visit again, but this time on pleasure (God Willing). View from room was awesome.

« Great service, small rooms, bad for allergy sufferers »

We stayed at this hotel for two nights over the long weekend for a soccer tournament, the rooms were small and what they told us were queen beds were only doubles. The fridge in the room is very small and too cold, froze everything even with trying to turn it down. Both nights my husband and I woke up very stuffed up and only felt relief upon leaving the hotel and getting fresh air. This is an old hotel that has had a face lift and I wondered if there was mold in the walls causing my allergies. Breakfast area was very large and we used it for a team potluck dinner without issue but the breakfast food was very average, powdered eggs, cheap sausage, small dry muffins....typical hotel breakfast unfortunately. Staff were great at the front desk as we had left items in the room after checking out and they were very helpful. Parking was a pain since you had to squeeze into a very tight parking lot behind the hotel since the front entrance was closed for some type of repair to unload your vehicle then go inside and check in and get your parking pass then go back to your vehicle and move it across the street to the lot. And as we had a cooler and lots of luggage to bring in we used a trolley but there isn't a ramp at the back entrance or assisted entry doors making it very challenging to say the least. (Hotel Mgmt - please put in a ramp and assist entry doors!) Would I stay here again, only at the right price....

The view from the room overlooking the river and seeing the Detroit skyline lit up at night was awesome. Staff was extremely pleasant and willing to accommodate our requests as well as pointing us in the right direction for great food and places to enjoy a beer.

    « Loved the View »

This B.W. is located right on the Detroit River with wonderful views of the Riverside Park and Detroit. We arrived early and were able to check in, which was a very pleasant surprise. Rooms are clean, neat, comfortable beds, soft pillows and great views. Great blackout curtains allowed us to sleep in late! Nice sized pool and fitness area overlooking the river. Parking across the street was convenient and only $12, Felt very safe walking around the riverfront, lots of places to eat and within walking distance of casino. Because we slept late, breakfast area was extremely busy and running out of food. Would suggest getting there at least an hour before it ends.

    « Perfect »

If you are going to stay in Windsor ON. This is the place to book your stay. Well worth it , this location was walking distance to the casino , all the bars and there is lots. LOL., enjoyed a few of them. The Keg is next door. You cross the street out front and enjoy a beautiful walk along the river front , day or night, its well lighted and safe , patrolled by police walking and biking.

« Nice notel in a superb waterfront location, but very noisy »

This hotel is well-furnished and in an excellent location right on the river. Rooms appear to be arranged so many have river views; higher floors are better. Staff are friendly. There is a major noise problem, however. It apparently caters to students of all ages, and they are constantly running around and making a lot of noise, even late. I was in an otherwise nice room on the 17th floor, but except for one other adult with whom I commiserated, it appeared that every other room had groups of high school girls in it. They additionally left many of their doors propped open so that, not only could they shriek to one another in their own rooms, but they could shriek across the hall to their friends. They also did a fair amount of running back and forth between rooms, somewhat lower but still quite substantial shrieks during the runs. I complained to the desk but not much happened; about an hour later, ca. 11-11:30, they quieted down, but this problem really ruined my 2 night stay. It was odd that there seemed to be no chaperone for these kids, at least on the 17th floor, and I am amazed that the hotel wouldn't realize that they were creating a huge problem, and that they didn't do something serious about it after my complaint. It's enough of an issue that I'd strongly advise against staying there; there are other nice hotels competitively priced in the area.

« Our stay at the Best Western Plus Hotel »

Overall this is an excellent hotel. Hotel was clean, staff was very friendly & helpful. Good assortment of food at breakfast. The hotel is situated in a great place. Close to USA bridge, Casino, great restaurants. Beautiful parks across the street. We don't have a problem recommending Best Western Plus Waterfront Hotel.

« great veiw of river »

Take a front room if you can upgrade its worth it. The side rooms are also nice with view of river. This hotel is not luxury and needs some work. No parking on site. I don't think Windsor has the kind of money to support luxury hotels since 2008 crash however it is a nice clean hotel with great views. The parks in front of the hotel are beautiful and you can walk all along the river. Close to many restaurants.

The bed was extremely comfortable. Our room had been updated. The breakfast had a great selection of both hot and cold options. Staff were friendly and efficient. The location was great and our room had a great view.

« Great hotel except for the bedbugs »

Loved this hotel aside from the bites. Staff were all really great, location was perfect, the view was spectacular. Room was comfortable and clean, but unfortunately room 2010 has a bedbug issue. Noticed some bites on shoulder the first night. We were down by the water all day so we assumed they were mosquito bites. After check out the following day noticed more bites on hands and legs. I've had experiences with bedbugs when travelling before. The bites start out looking like mosquito bites, then swell up and weep a couple of days later which can make reporting the issue later to the hotel look sketchy. Fortunately there were no further bites after returning home so here's hoping they didn't come with us. General manager never responded to an email sent a week ago. It's a really great hotel otherwise, hopefully they can get the bug problem under control.

« stayed to go to Casino »

Stayed one night to go see Jeff Dunham at the Casino - loved that it was walking distance to the casino and so many choices of restaurants in walking distance as well - would definitely stay at this hotel again - friendly check in staff and beautiful room overlooking the river with panoramic view

    « Filthy »

Holes in the walls of a suite where a picture over the bed was removed. Holes in the wall on entry. Two fridges and no microwave; one of the fridges looked like something left over from a corner store. It was old and rattled so we had to unplug it to be able to sleep. Microwave in lobby smeared and filthy inside. Glass doors full of fingerprints not cleaned over night. Sheets on bed did not fit and weren't tucked in. The view was of the river if you craned your neck otherwise you saw the brick wall next door.

    3
    « Infrastructure »

The elevator did not work propertly The parking area in front of the hotel was not working neither. No bellboys to help you with your luggage The breakfast did not have bacon, only the first 2 days of my stay.

« Beautiful view of the river; so romantic! »

Wonderful visit; lovely view of river. Good variety of museums and restaurants nearby; close to Tunnel to Detroit. Good variety of food, hot and cold, for free breakfast. King size bed was quite comfortable; slept all night! Dieppe Garden across the street is convenient for a bike ride or walk the dogs, Yes! This hotel is 'pet friendly'!

    « Lovely surprise »

I'm not going to lie I had really low expectations for Windsor but was pleasantly surprised. Pros - room decor was new, modern and fresh looking - the staff were vet nice and friendly - coffee was available all day in the lobby - the view of the water and park was STUNNING! - the location is super convenient with a lot of amenities around - park across the street was lovely and very nice to walk, jog in Cons - parking was across the street and you have to check in and then go move your car - parking has a fee - the bed was pretty comfy but I found the sheets a little scratchy

Requested panoramic view when booking and when registering, this was our 49 wedding anniversary. Not a bad view but certainly not panoramic (as advertised). I guess those rooms are for the more important guests!

« Excellent staff, and even BETTER STAY!!! »

We had a decently large group in for a function over a weekend and the staff were very helpful for the foreign family of ours. After being there for several days our family got to know the names of many of the staff who work at the hotel. Also a special thank you to Peter who built a baby bed they had for our little one. All of our family enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, The breakfast staff were very welcoming and more than helpful on anything we needed! I would reccomend this hotel to everyone visiting the Windsor/Detroit area. Well worth the money!

    « Great view »

Had a king bed room with a partial view of the Detroit River. Check in was a bit slow as had to wait for them to finish my room (even though we showed up about an hour after the check in time). The room had a comfortable bed, and was clean. A bit on the pricey side considering it is only a 3 star hotel.

« Nice Hotel, Good Location But a Bit Pricey »

Stayed for a swim meet so the location was excellent and the self serve breakfast was pretty good. Typical Best Western Quality but at Hilton prices so not good value. Probably the best option of a limited supply in downtown Windsor.

« Excellent View, comfortable bed »

Wow, fantastic view and great location, close to the tunnel. The bed and room was Very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing to write home about, but free.... Enjoyed the waterfront park directly across the street. They has a Beautiful widescreen TV in room, but had no digital signal available (what a waste of a great TV).

    2
« Overall average, but problems with front desk and noisy guests »

Stayed here for 3 nights for a half marathon. The room was updated, relatively comfortable. TV was not HD, but it worked just fine. Nice that there's a small fridge in the room. The breakfast buffet was just ok....not great, but not terrible either (and there is a fair amount of selection of food). There was a partial view of the Detroit skyline, which was nice. Free wifi worked well. Two things decreased my rating for this hotel: parking and security. The front of the hotel is under construction and there's no parking. Parking is in a lot around back, which you don't find out about until you get there. It's an additional $12/day, which seems high for the city. At least the parking charge gets you in and out privileges. On Saturday evening (the night before the race), there were several girls in the hotel room next to us that were getting ready for a night out. There were very loud, so much so that we complained to the front desk. Three times. The first two times, the front desk called up and asked them to keep it down, which worked for a few minutes. But they kept getting louder and louder. At one point, they were so loud both in the room and in the hallway that my friend went out to ask them to quiet down. This prompted a fourth call to the front desk. The answer to all of this? "We called security and they said they can't do anything since it's Saturday night". I wish I was making this up. How on earth does the night of the week have anything to do with whether or not you can do anything about noisy hotel guests?? Not to mention that the front desk did nothing about it....no compensation, no apologies, no offer to move us to another room. Very poor handling of a situation on their part. If not for the parking and security issues, it would be average.

« Friendly Staff, great hotel »

I stayed here for one night while on business. The hotel staff were very friendly, and the lobby and common areas have a modern look. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and i enjoyed an excellent view of the riber. I would stay here again next time i am in Windsor. The continental breakfast was what you would expect, and does not disappoint.

    « Great view »

This hotel has a great view of the waterfront and the Detroit skyline. One of the nicest hotels in the city. It's disappointing that you have to pay for parking (Almost every other hotel in the city has free parking, including Caesars Casino). We were a little dissapointed to find a hockey team staying on our floor with all of their equipment bags airing out in the hallway but once we were in our room, it was great. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

    « excellent service!!!! »

amazing customer service!!!! Angelina greeted us very pleasantly only to tell me that booking.com had cancelled my reservation according to their computer records- I didn't even have to show them that it was still on my dashboard on my booking.com account- they took me for my word and gave us a free upgrade of queen beds instead of the full I had reserved- the only thing was that we could no longer have a river view room, but our view would be a partial view (which was still awesome)- Not happy with booking.com but thrilled with our stay and would highly recommend this hotel!!! We asked for extra towels and within 5 mins we had them to our room- they recommended a very good pizza delivery service right to our room- their pool and meeting areas were all very clean and all staff we encountered were more than helpful, friendly, and thorough. Made for a super fun half marathon and girls weekend!!! will stay here again for sure!!!

« Beautiful Views, Friendly, Nice Hotel, Great Breakfast »

First off Breakfast closes on time. But it is worth getting out of bed. We enjoyed breakfast and beautiful views. Sitting right on the Detroit River with a wonderful view. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and accommodated every request. Indoor access to the parking garage and a very nice and updated lobby. The rooms look exactly like the picture which if you are a traveler you know this does not happen as often as it should. The higher your floor the better the view.

« Great views of the USA! »

I was looking for somewhere to stay in the Detroit area after driving from Niagara over to Chicago and came across the Best western plus waterfront hotel. It is literally minutes from Detroit through the tunnel crossing and arguably much safer to stay here than in Detroit itself. The Lobby was huge and the front desk staff were really nice and helpful. I paid for a riverfront view room which was definitely worth it as it's a cool view. The room itself is a decent size and was comfortable enough without being luxurious in any way. There is a breakfast served in the lobby in the morning which was standard hotel affair but decent. I would recommend staying here over staying in Detroit!

    4
    « Nice hotel »

The hotels location is really nice with a beautiful view of the river and Detroit. Rooms are pretty big, the room I stayed in needed a facelift, however the beds where really good. Indoor pool and gym availible. Staff was really nice and service minded as well. Complimentary breakfast was also very nice.

We were relieved to be able to have a good sleep before our busy day in Windsor...Some hotels have hard or horrible beds but waterfront had awesome beds which were very comfortable...i will stay again and recommend this to others We had a delicious breakfast...there was lots of options to choose from so even the pickiest eaters can eat

    « Partial is not a view. »

We booked a room here for one night. One attraction was that all rooms were described as riverfront views. When we arrived, we were told that our room had a partial river view. As it was late, we accepted the room. The next morning, I looked out our doorwall, which was locked so we could not go outside. The view consisted of the Ren Cen and not much else of the river. The majority of our view was of other walls of the hotel. I walked outside to look at the building and noticed that the majority of the rooms appeared to be of this type. Not sure what the rate is for the true riverview rooms but I paid $200 CAD which I felt was high.

    2
    « Disappointed »

Not good value for the price paid but good location. The hotel is under going renos so perhaps when it is finished it would be worth the price. One night stay only just to go a concert so really didn't spend much time at the hotel.

    « Worst experience ever »

The parking lot and hallways are definitely run down and the room was not even checked properly before check in. Used water bottle was in my suite. Lots of kids running are running around the street in the middle of the night. Impossible to sleep! The amount paid I would definitely recommend some other motels. The floors in the room are barely swept. Disappointed and disappointed. Not coming back ever. Breakfast is ok but a lot of things ran out fast, especially drinks. The beds were very soggy.

    « Parking »

Was disappointed that the hotel charged extra for parking. Aside to that everything was acceptable, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was ample and well laid out is a beautiful and comfortable setting.

« Good stay in excellent location. Million dollar view! »

Wonderful staff, newly furnished and renovated rooms. Extremel comfortable bed and pillows. Good buffet breakfast in large airy room. Partial river view is breathtaking. I will go back just to get a room with a full river view. Room appeared to be a bit small for the two queen beds. High curb in temporary parking lot forces lifting of heavy beds to use the rear entrance. Off site pay parking is very short walk away but still a bit of a nuisance. I will definitely use this hotel again.

« Adequate room, Awful "free" breakfast, Elusive General Manager »

This hotel used to be the Hilton property in downtown Windsor, overlooking the Detroit river. Unfortunately, when the domestic auto industry hit the skids in about 2009, this negatively impacted this hotel. The club lounge closed, and it only briefly re-opened years later. The then management never put another dime into the place, so it fell apart. The dining room deteriorated as did the rooms, to the point that, for whatever reason, Hilton's name was removed from the door. New owners apparently took it over yet, by that time my organization which always sends some of us to Windsor on a rotating and regular basis, had bailed out. We were staying at a nice enough hotel in another location. So, eventually we decided to return to the Waterfront, as it was called before it joined the Best Western system. While the location is downtown, my own view is that does not get us much as downtown Windsor is nothing special. When the hotel became The Waterfront, it still had doormen/concierges, which was handy, although the dining room had closed. During my prior stay last Fall, as well as my recent stay this March 2016, the hotel touts its so-called "free" and "included" breakfast. "Included" is a better descriptor, because it is paid for within the room price. I discuss the breakfast further below if you have the patience to keep on reading. As of this past stay in March I can say the rooms are adequate. The work area is spacious, the furniture is recently new and in good shape, and the beds comfy. The bathrooms are also fine, with reasonable hot water pressure. The view remains the same as it always was--the view of the water was always this hotel's selling point and that, due to location, remains. I got a bathrobe on request, yet I suspect these are the ones stockpiled and will not be replaced when they wear out. Unfortunately, it appears that those who run the place decided to terminate the long-serving concierges who were always helpful, and make the hotel less "full service", probably reflecting the Best Western approach. At least the front desk staff are for the most part the same--many of these folks have been present since I began staying there three or four times annually back in the "Hilton days", so for over 15 years. They now have to help carry boxes to and from the rooms (my job requires lots of filing and paper despite this high-tech world in which we live). I miss the full service experience that we used to have at this place, including bathrobes, concierge lounge, a proper dining room, etc. There is as of yet no dining room so during winter one must go out to eat for lunch and dinner (or order in). We are told that a restaurant is coming--time will tell if it does and, when it does, if it is any good. The "free" breakfast is simply awful. It was awful when I stayed there last Fall and it was again awful when I stayed there in March. The so-called scrambled eggs are made from a powder and are just yucky. The sausages are horrid. The bacon is ok, albeit greasy, yet ironically this one semi-edible item of hot food is often not available. The first morning of my recent stay I asked one of the staff if more bacon was coming out as the bin was empty--"in 30 minutes" I was told. Really? I guess nobody was monitoring it to see when it was getting low. As most regular guests know the sausages are awful we go for the bacon, to try and mask the yucky taste of the eggs, so the staff should monitor and replenish as needed. Hot food on the buffet also did not stay very hot. The next day, day two of my stay, I was told that there would be no bacon at all because the hotel was full (of some young folks involved in a competitive swim contest--who were for very much the most part well-behaved). So, when the hotel is full, bacon is not served; we can all eat the inedible sausages and the awful eggs. On day three however, contrary to what I was told bacon was available. It was edible, and thankfully there was yoghurt and pastry. Yet this breakfast is really not worth the price. I took the trouble to hand-write a note for the hotel GM on the first morning of my three night stay, offering constructive feedback. As of later afternoon of day two, as I had not heard back, I attempted to phone the GM. Yet he has no voicemail, so I was unable to leave him a message. I had included my business card in my note and suggested that, if he could not reach me while I was in his hotel, he could call or email me at my office. On check-out I asked at the front desk if he was around and was told that he was in meetings but would be in touch. Yet it is six weeks since my stay and I have not heard from the General Manager in response to my detailed note. As a frequent business traveller, it is my experience at most hotels that management wants to hear from and learn from their guests. Management (good management, that is) is usually very interested in the experiences of their guests, good and bad. Over years of both business and leisure travel, to hotels all over Canada and the US, as well as Europe, I have always had a response from and interest shown by a hotel manager or GM in the relatively rare circumstances when I have needed to reach out. Certainly, management with whom I have spoken in hotels are receptive to feedback. In this case, especially, as my organization spends a fair amount of monies at this property between guest rooms and the boardrooms we use, one would expect the courtesy of a response. I guess my expectations are too high? Also, I have never heard of a GM not having voicemail. This appears to me to be an attempt to hide from guests, and avoid feedback. Yet that is the opposite of what a hotel GM should do. The view and the decent rooms, capable housekeeping, plus the long-serving and capable front desk staff, are what keeps this place from being a one star. The awful meal service at breakfast, which the hotel touts as so wonderful and "free", and the lack of dining facilities, holds this place back along with the diminished service provided. I also wonder about leadership given my lack of response from the GM. Generally, considering quality, value and price, one can likely get a far better experience at the Casino hotel for likely not much more money, if any more at all. It would also be a full service experience. I would much prefer to stay there given the choice of very good dining options and great rooms which the Casino hotel offers. Yet given the nature of my work that location (optics of a casino) is off limits for us. Alas.

« Nice Hotel - breakfast is disguting »

This is a nice hotel, and I would definitely stay again, but I wouldn't eat breakfast there, it was truly disturbing. They were out of juice for the kids, the eggs were ok, the sausages were the worst I've ever had. Stay at the hotel, but eat elsewhere.

« Location if it matter with amazing views to the Detroit River, »

This hotel is in excellent location if you are in town for some work. The services are fair, good house keeping and healthy breakfast. The wifi was not your typical hotel wifi, in fact it was very good. The parking is not included in your hotel rate, they provide you parking in the back structure for $12/day which is totally fair being you are in down town. View of Detroit river is amazing for all the floors.

    « Fantastic View of Detroit/River »

Can't get much better view of Downtown Detroit and the Detroit River. Our room was clean and comfortable, enough room for two. The windows are situated to provide a maximum view which also results in being able too see into your neighbor's room and vice versa. Not an issue though, just close drapes partially. Well located and easy to get to from the U.S. Will stay again.

    « beautiful view »

loved this location the view from the room was incredible the room was clean and updated the pool area was really nice but shallow and the gym had the same spectacular view of Detroit and the river breakfast was good the only thing missing was a hot tub

    3
    « River View »

The view of the river from our corner room was phenomenal. I do think the THREE ladies at the check in desk could have been more interested in our check-in. Especially when they were telling us to park in the structure behind the hotel - which they assumed we knew about.

    4
    « Good hotel -- hidden fees »

This is a very nice hotel right o the Windsor Waterfront and beside the indoor water park -- which was wonderful! However, there are many hidden fees, not the least of which is a $12 parking fee that is not mentioned until after you register. The fact that there is really no other sensible option makes this seem a bit underhanded.

    4
    « Definitely Worth It! »

The room was very clean and the staff was quite helpful. I loved being able to just walk across the road to use the boardwalk. It was a little confusing with their parking but still workable. Very quiet and close to many things. The breakfast was average, but the breakfast bar was very small and overcrowded so I wasn't able to really access it. The only issue I really had was that I couldn't print anything when using the business center, even though they had printers there.

    « Swimmers in Windsor »

What a great place to stay for swim families. The international calibre facility is within walking distance. We were VERY impressed with Emelia the general manager. Staff was always freindly and helpful. The speed of service was shockingly fast. Its a very busy weekend hotel, so be prepared for all the casino goers and we had a global hockey tournament stating with teams from all over the world. The beds were really comfy...which is ultra important to swimmers. The staff was professional, ultra friendly and helpful from check in to check out. We travel all over the country with our athletes. Jeff at the front desk was great. Rooms were clean, not terribly large. Breakfast was usual cluded fare, but fresh and well presented. We look forward to coming again.

    « Love this place »

I am most of the way through a two-month stay at the Best Western Plus Waterfront. The hotel is newly redone and looks great! The rooms are clean and comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the super-friendly housekeeping staff, although the front desk staff comes off as a bit aloof. The weekday breakfast is higher quality than the weekend breakfast, the latter of which features powdered eggs but does not include bacon. The WIFI is almost unusably slow. Overall I would be very pleased to stay again!

    « Good for a getaway! »

This hotel was very reasonably priced for my friend and I to get a night to be in Windsor. Very nice interior, extremely kind and helpful staff, and best of all, they have a huge breakfast in the morning! (Though it is still hotel breakfast keep in mind.) This hotel made me feel like I was staying in a real classy place, without the ticket price. So that alone is enough to get high marks from me!

« Great Price for View, Location, & Ammenities »

I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel venue. My view of the Detroit River and Detroit Skyline was amazing. The room was updated and very clean with refrigerator, coffee maker, Internet, and new flat screen TV. The breakfast buffet was what you would expect - nothing fancy - but was included in the hotel price. I will definitely return for future visits.

    3
    « Too much noise »

The hotel itself was nice, and the renovated rooms with the view were great, but it appears that the hotel is a party house for the downtown crowd. The noise from our adjoining room was unbearable and mngt. seemed kind of indifferent. We ended up changing rooms, and then the noise from a different party group continued till 3:30 AM. We called for help, but the night desk staff seemed to say "Get over it" Don't stay here on the weekend.

    « Travel for work »

I have stayed at this hotel twice now for work, once in January and again in March. The hotel has been renovated, and the rooms are nice and comfortable. Lovely views from the rooms. Very friendly staff. Downsides- I do not care for the parking garage in the back for parking- it is the only option. It looks like they will eventually open a bar/lounge but it is not yet open- and there is no restaurant on site. The breakfast in the morning is just ok. Will likely return.

We had a lovely time here. it was super crowded in the lobby and for breakfast, but it was a fun-crowded, like you were all having a good time! Pool was great, other families playing there made it extra fun for kids. Breakfast was really good. Parking was close. We had a really good experience!

    « A river front jewel! »

We stayed at the hotel on the last night of March break. In addition Johnny Reid was appearing at Caesars Windsor that night so yes it was very busy! But the staff had it all under control. Clean and comfortable rooms with absolutely stunning river views. Friendly, helpful staff assisted me with accessibility for my disabled spouse.Good hot breakfast. We felt very welcome and we will be back.

    « Business Trip »

Good hotel for business located downtown close to City Hall, restaurants and walking path along river. Friendly and helpful staff with quick check-in and check-put. Had a good rate for 55+ on a renovated floor with panoramic views of the river and Detroit. Free coffee and breakfast is nice, but could use some more healthy choices (ie: variety of fruit, nuts, etc.) Will definitely stay here again on next business trip.

« I made my own Belgian Waffles!!! »

The breakfast buffet is located in the cavernous Lobby Bar and I have repeatedly enjoyed it. Fresh juices and fruit are plentiful. Both hot and cold dishes available and I made my own Belgian Waffles! Staff is always friendly and available and are topping off products. After cereal, toast, eggs, yoghurt and the yummy waffles I need to go back to bed! Thanks!

    « Wonder what's it's like to live in a fraternity house? »

I will start off this review by saying the room and the service was great. My poor rating has almost nothing to do with the hotel itself. The hotel was completely over run with US college kids, coming over to Canada to drink (lower drinking age) and party all weekend. The staff even told us that these kids had booked up 75% of the rooms. We were there for 2 nights and the first night was pretty noisy - but we managed; the second night was better. We were there with 2 other sets of couples and they both had worse experiences than us (being woken up by yelled profanities every hour on the hour). One of the couples complained and were upgraded (the hotel was good about it) - but even in the upgraded room, they were kept up all night. Similar complaints from our other set of friends. In the halls and elevators (around 10:30), expect to find empty solo cups and discarded (mostly empty) liquor bottles on the ground. At the complementary breakfast, expect it to be loud and see 19 year-olds wandering around barefoot. As I said, the hotel did their best to keep this under control (and I get that these kids bring in a ton of business for them). I would just rather not be anywhere near them. Will not stay there again.

    « Comfortable Stay »

3 couples booked rooms since we were going to a hockey game in Detroit. We arrived around 2:30-3 PM and 1 room wasn't ready. I requested to be moved from an upper floor and got one on the 5th floor. It was a foggy night so the other couples could not enjoy the view but from our room we could see Joe Louis Arena and the river. It was absolutely beautiful. Trying to check in was somewhat of a nightmare. We could not park in the driveway of the hotel on Riverside Rd since there was construction going on and the driveway was closed due to a sinkhole. We eventually found a parking lot in the back of the hotel that allowed us to check in. It actually worked out well since the hotel parking lot is in the municipal lot located right across the road. Parking is charged on your bill and costs $12.95 a day. Our room was clean but I got locked in the bathroom twice due to a faulty door handle. One of our friends found a dirty face cloth hanging on the shower rod and that the bathtub had not been cleaned. The "Queen Bed" is the size of a double but this is the new standard in hotels. The staff there are really nice and appeared to take our concerns to heart. We enjoyed our breakfast buffet and the staff there went out of their way to ensure that it was totally stocked and that the guests were having a good experience. It was very busy but they were happy to help us in any way. I would definately stay there again. Excellent value for the location and very kid & pet friendly. The hotel does charge you an extra $10.00 extra for rooms overlooking the river. We were not informed of this at the time of check-in but it was worth it to us.

« Disgusting breakfast downgraded the hotel »

disappointed for the breakfast.. Thought it would be a lot more up graded as the room was classy but the quickie style paper plate plastic fork, powdered scrambled eggs took away from the lavish room. The bed was very comfortable but had spring breakers partying next to us and had to call front desk,(no fault of the hotel) We loved the room and the view of the river and Detroit..

« Had a wonderful stay with the family »

We enjoyed the pool and the nice rooms. I believe they just renovated the hotel and the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff seemed nice. Parking was for $12.00 a night which was okay considering we were staying downtown. Overall great experience and we had a great view from the room.

    « Enjoyed my stay »

Stayed at the hotel a couple of weeks ago and I enjoyed my stay. Great rooms with a nice view and staff were helpful. Nice lobby and breakfast was fine. Location was a Wow close to everything and I will stay there again if in Windsor,

« Clean, comfortable, beautiful view. »

A very updated and modernized decor. Friendly staff and lots of lobby seating and common space. Beds were super comfortable and hallways were quiet. Parking off site at an additional cost per night. Pool area seems old but functional and clean. Breakfast buffet was in a cramped corner and very difficult to access due to the number of people trying to use the service. We settled on a piece of fruit and yogurt as it was a very long wait to get to the hot items. Lovely river walk directly across from the hotel.

« adequate room, awful ("free") breakfast, elusive General Manager »

This hotel used to be the Hilton property in downtown Windsor, overlooking the Detroit river. Unfortunately, when the domestic auto industry hit the skids in about 2009, this negatively impacted this hotel. The club lounge closed, and it only briefly re-opened years later. The then management never put another dime into the place, so it fell apart. The dining room deteriorated as did the rooms, to the point that, for whatever reason, Hilton's name was removed from the door. New owners apparently took it over, but by that time my organization which always sends some of us to Windsor on a rotating and regular basis, had bailed out. It was awful when I stayed there last Fall and it was again awful when I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. Yet it is over 10 days since my stay and I have not heard from the General Manager in response to my detailed note. Alas.

« Disappointing breakfast - did not match the photos. »

The room was comfortable and had the promised view of the river. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast did not match the photos and was crowded due to insufficient space and equipment. As soon as any hot food arrived it was in such short supply that it was finished by a handful of guests.

« Fix the signage and parking »

This hotel needs better signage and the parking is not really safe for solo female travelers. On the plus side, the rooms are beautiful, great views, and the mattresses are one of the best that I've ever had in a hotel.

    « Awesome view »

We came to Windsor to visit family and have stayed at another hotel on the river before and found the view awesome. We thought we would try the Best Western this time and wasn't disappointed. Pros & Cons: Pros: View Clean spacious room with pano view (we upgraded) as our original room was smaller, partial river view with main view of a roof top. No appealing to us. Breakfast was great. Good variety Check in and out was fast and friendly. Cons: Pool was ice cold. Parking was a little sketchy. Across the road behind the hotel. Main level mostly reserved parking so its second floor or higher. Not well lit behind hotel

« This hotel is absolute perfection.... »

I had a very pleasurable stay. I was there for 3 days and the location is perfect, the room view was amazing The staff is friendly and welcoming. The hotel is beautifully furnished and very clean. Everything from the lobby to the room to the pool was spectacular. The General manager came to our table at the restaurant to introduce himself to us. Very professional.

    « Very nice stay »

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The only issue that we did have was that the name was being changed over from the "Waterfront Hotel" and we did not see the Best Western sign from Riverside Rd. This made it a bit hard to find. The parking was right across the street in a parking arcade - found on the backside of the hotel. Nice clean room, large, lots of amenities. GREAT location to the Ceasar's Windsor Casino which was why we were there - to see David Spade. It was about a 5 minute easy walk, close to bars and restaurants. Will definitely stay here on our next trip!!!

    « Dinner and a Live Show »

In walking distance of restaurants, casino, and right across the road from the waterfront park. The value was Excellent. Breakfast was self serve sausage, scrambled (powdered) eggs, waffles, toast, fruit, yogurt, tea, coffee, juice. Plenty of seating and clean and maintained. We were on the 14th floor. Excellent view. Shower had lots of hot water and excellent water pressure. Our room was clean and some effort was put into the decor. We would absolutely stay here again.

    « Lovely view »

We were very happy with our room and the staff at the Waterfront Hotel. Great shower, and I had a good sleep. The breakfast was a little disappointing and the first morning there were big lineups for every breakfast item. The other challenge was trying to drop someone off at a very crowded front door, then having to do 3 left turns to get to the parking a bloc away. Stil, the hotel was fairly priced and our room had a lovely view of the Detroit skyline.

« Everything is in good standard! »

This is the hotel will meet most of your expectation for family travel. Very comfortable, clean/quite room. Breakfast is good enough to get start in the morning. Our room has the river which is great. Fitness centre was perfect to suit our need. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

    « Comfortable stay »

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on a girls' weekend. The hotel was clean and bright. There was construction at the main entrance at the time, but it did not impact us. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet, despite being very busy. The room was quite small, as was the bathroom. It would have been a nice touch to have a small refrigerator in the room, but space did not permit.

Location is excellent, can walk everywhere. Rooms are large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms were nice and quiet. Great view from the room overlooking the Detroit river. This was our first time in Windsor and would definitely stay here again. Overall a great experience.

    3
    « Decent stay »

View was beautiful and bed was comfy. The water pressure in the bathroom was very poor - especially the sink. Breakfast was chaotic which was to be expected except we saw one staff member cleaning up and she picked up plastic glasses from the floor and returned them to the cup dispense area as if they were new. If they do that then out in the open then what do they do behind closed doors? Anyway, that point aside, breakfast is really chaotic and busy and not properly stocked. Overall, we would stay here again because it's a great location and reasonable price, but we'd pass on the free breakfast.

They had just done some beautiful renovations. We had an excellent view of the river and skyline across the river from our room. Excellent, helpful staff who arranged a car to pick up our daughter across the border when we forgot our passports. Comfortable beds. Great pool and gym. All round wonderful stay.

Beautiful room with a wonderful river view. Great location for Windsor Aquatic Centre. Wonderful trails on the riverfront. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was a good assortment and a little earlier that we were told which helped when getting the athletes to the pool for early warm up swims.

    « Windsor Water Front »

We stay here when we visit relatives in Windsor. It is conveniently located downtown and within walking distance to most attractions and Restaurants and pubs . The rooms are a good size and the beds are very comfortable. The Inn is in process of renovations and the renovated rooms are much improved. Currently there is a restoration contractor trailer parked very inconveniently in the front entrance area. Front Desk staff customer Service has improved inj the past couple of months. Improvement in service was needed. Peter in the maintenance section is a very welcomed employee worth his weight in gold. He should be the Employee of the Month.

    « Waterfront Windsor »

The Best Western Waterfront, Windsor had the best full view of the Detroit River, and Detroit across from it. It was an amazing view, never been matched before anywhere for us. We would stay again. We are not fond that the hotel charges extra for parking, and the fact they don't have their own restaurant, but The Keg was very close and we received a totally impressive meal there. We would stay there again though,

Stayed here for a night with a couple friends for Autorama in Detroit. Hotel has great views and is in a great location for food and access to the tunnel to the USA. Rates were good and great hot breakfast provided! Parking is not onsite but across the street and cost an additional $12 per night.

« Nice hotel in downtown Windsor »

This hotel was great and centrally located. I was going to the Caesar's Windsor and it was a short walking distance. The hotel was clean and reasonably priced. The beds were basic doubles which seemed very small and not as comfortable as some.

« Great room with a wonderful view »

We were in town to see a show at the Casino and rather than drive back we stayed the night. The hotel is only a few blocks from the Casino. The room was clean and appointed well, with a very nice view of the river. Breakfast was fine, nothing special but it got the job done.

    4
    « nice room »

everything was very good and to our satisfaction. the only thing that was a little annoying was being awakened at about 3 am by noisy people in the room next door. the casino is nearby which is good but then so can people be coming into their rooms at all hours of the night and maybe having too many drinks.

    « Girls night away »

My friend and I had tickets for a concert at the Windsor casino so we decided to stay at the Best Western Plus Waterfront. We stayed on a Friday night and the price was pretty good at $185.00 total. A room at the casino was over $400...crazy! The room was clean and the beds were comfy! The view of the river was pretty and the lights of Detroit were nice. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was included and was tasty. The Keg is next door and the casino was about a 7 minute walk.

« Great views but wish it had a restaurant »

All of the rooms have a great view of the Windsor waterfront and the Detroit skyline. I wish there was a restaurant so I didn't have to head out to eat when the weather was bad but other than that the hotel is great and i would highly recommend it.

    « Excellent hotel »

The Hotel is excellent and I would go again every time the breakfast was not superb . However it was adequate, well laid out and good The staff were pleasant and very efficient Our room was facing the Detroit river so we had a full view of the river and Detroit. Heating unit was really noisy and we couldn't keep it on at night due to the noise.

« Good for the Money »

We stayed here after seeing a concert in Detroit. The savings over a place in Detroit made the hassle of crossing the border worth it. This hotel is very clean, a must for me. There is a buffet breakfast included which was about average. They weren't prepared for the number of guests they had that night. But the woman replenishing the breakfast items did a great job. The buffet included make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon along with assorted cereals, yogurts and pasteries. The parking was not included. It was a cost of $13/night. The lot is covered and directly behind the hotel across the street.

We arrived early and knowing 3 p.m. was check in time however we got our room at 12 p.m.when we arrived which was fantastic. When we checked in the receptionist was pleasant and told us we had a room on the 16th floor with a great view. While the view was amazing! Never sat in my room just to look out a window but this time I spent at least an hour just taking in the view of Windsor/Detroit. The pool was on the third floor and a good size although we never used it there was alot of families enjoying it. The breakfast area seemed to be a bit crowded at times but the seating area was very spacious. Parking was extra but you didnt need your car as you were close to all amenities.

    « Riverview »

Stayed here over Detroit hotels even though business was in Detroit. With the dollar exchange and the free breakfast is made sense. The hotels in this price range state side didn't offer free breakfast and some didn't have a pool. For the dollar this was the best safest place for me.

« Room was not ready on time and Poor Heating »

They claimed rooms were sold out day before Valentine's and they couldn't clean in time for next day. Check outs were very late at 12 and check ins at 3, we came at 3:30 and not ready until 4. Heat was set to max (30C) when we got there but not heat at all. During winter season too, the thicker blanket had to be used but was on top of closet instead of on thin sheets on bed. Recommend going to Caesars instead. Pay a bit more but much much better

We stayed on the 16th floor as I requested a higher floor. There was a youth hockey league on the 5th floor and boy could you tell when you passed it on the elevator. We stayed here around a year ago when it was under renovations. Is alot nicer now but the breakfast is so so. Not bad for free buffet and with how many people they serve. Still had the $12 a night parking in the garage behind hotel. Not many options when it comes to parking around here. Room was all new with exception of the 1980s thermostat, closet and phone. We would stay here again no questions asked

The breakfast was the worst I have experienced. I did nok know eggs could be cooked so badly. The electrical outlets in the room did not work. We were headed to a concert at the casino and were disappointed to find that their hotel was sold out. We chose to stay at the Best Western as it was nice and close. « Great view! »

Stayed for one night. The parking was not a joy. It was very cold and we had to find our way from a parking lot across the street behind the hotel through a maze of hallways and elevators without clear direction. It also cost us extra to add insult to injury. The room however, was very clean, modern, comfortable and had an exceptionally nice view. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was included and had a nice spread including eggs, sausage, bacon, breads, waffles etc... Would stay there again.

    5
« Good value and view »

Great views and location! The Pedway entrance from the parking lot entrance is a little sketchy. Enjoyed a walk along the water and the easy access to entertainment and restaurants. The rooms are very well appointed and clean. No hot tub, this is a feature that should be considered at some point. The breakfast area is very spacious and a few tables have views of the water, which is a nice touch for the morning coffee.

    « Every room has a view! »

I stayed here for one night last year when this was known as the Waterfront Hotel. As the name states, it is right on Riverside drive with great views of the river and the Detroit Skyline. The location was great for my purposes, and my room was clean and the newer bed and bedding was comfortable, though the other furnishings were a bit dated (they were in the process of renovation!) Breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold items with a spectacular view from the second floor dining room(they were in the process of renovating a different room on the first floor for breakfast though, which is too bad...) My only problem with the hotel was the additional parking fee, which is the same with most of the downtown hotels and is kind of ridiculous, but I was working at the Casino that week so just stayed parked there for free and walked over... Overall a good stay and would stay here again. I recommend checking prices on booking.com. At the time, the price difference of booking with them and booking direct was about $30 and the hotel wouldn't match it!!

The Waterfront is very convenient for a wedding or event at the Centre of the Arts connected to the hotel. No need to even check a coat. Overpriced for this hotel given the overall quality of the interior, the "full" breakfast (which was an overstatement) plus paid parking as an extra. Access for registration not that easy what with a non-operating front door and barely room for two cars up-front.

« Fabulous view of Detroit »

The hotel is close to numerous bars and restaurants and only a couple blocks to the casino. The rooms are large and spacious. My room had a king size bed and faced the river. The rooms were clean and the free breakfest buffet was an added bonus. Interaction with the staff was limited but everyone seemed happy and helpful. I would stay here again without a doubt.

« Excellent accommodation for a business traveller »

The Best Western Plus Waterfront is situated in downtown Windsor, close to several restaurants and a liquor store. My room (King bed, single) offered good, relaxing views of the river and the Detroit skyline. The room was well-appointed and modern and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel's front desk staff were responsive and courteous. The complementary breakfast was good (though there was no fruit salad offered, there were still choices) and the hotel coffee, I thought, was exceptional. I would recommend this hotel for a business traveller wanting clean, refined, comfortable, quiet, and enjoyable accommodation close to other restaurants in the downtown core. I would even stay here if I were a personal traveller.

    « Worth the Trip »

Excellent riverfront view, comfortable rooms, activities within walking distance, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurants nearby ( the Keg Steakhouse and Bar , one short block away, had excellent food and atmosphere). Casino Windsor and its entertainment venue, The Coliseum, is approximately a short 5 blocks away. Other, top notch, local acts in the casino.

    « Good hotel - great rooms - 2 flaws »

Good hotel. Good service. Great view of Detroit and the river on the waterfront side. Closely located to the COBO centre, bus station and several great restaurants. Comfortable beds. However what doesn't make this a GREAT hotel: 1- Bad cable connection. Please switch to satellite TV with numerous channels where movies can also be ordered. Basically, join the 21st century. 2- Brutal WIFI connection. Slow to the point of being useless. Piece of advice: better Wifi service with password so people outside the hotel can't connect and steal the connection. Basically, again, join the 21st century.

Hotel was very clean, staff was excellent,, only disappointment was that there wasn't an actual restaurant at the hotel. They did have a continental breakfast that was your typical breakfast, I am not a huge fan of these breakfasts

« Spectacular view but some things to be desired »

We stayed here on 1/17 and rented the King Junior Suite. We had the Splash Package that allowed us 4 tickets into Adventure Bay across the street. Pros - The view is unsurpassed. Absolutely breathtaking view of Downtown Detroit skyline and riverfront. - Clean, updated room - Awesome health gym with several top notch treadmills and elliptical machines, weights, mats, and weight machines....all looking towards riverfront view - Pool is kid friendly atmosphere with 3.5 feet across entire pool. Sauna is nice added bonus and pool is fully furnished with bath sized towels. - Pleasant staff Cons - Television had poor reception on most channels - Horrible WiFi - No bar or lounged - Continental breakfast was less than desirable - Virtually nonexistent snack shop (there were bags of chips on shelves and a freezer of ice cream and pop) Overall good stay but wished there was a lounge for the adults and the food was better.

« Windsor / Detroit Auto Show Visit »

My Wife and I booked a king suite at the Best Western Waterfront and we were pleased. VERY comfortable beds, the swimming pool and work out area were in great shape and we made use of them. They also had continental breakfast in the morning, nothing spectacular, but all the essentials were there. The bus terminal behind the building was convenient to walk to, we ended up getting a package deal for bus fair and auto show admission for around CAD $24 a piece. We also hit up Caesars casino for a show, it was a bit of a walk, but worth it for the money we saved. We will stay there again.

    « Windsor Downtown »

Not the hotel it was. If you stayed here say 5 years ago you are in for the new stripped down version. Fewer staff and less service. The great second floor dining room and lounge at this location is no more. Not sure what the PLUS is. Maybe the additional charge for parking.

« Great Stay near the waterfront »

I stayed here for 2 nights over the holidays. The location is great, with a view of the river and Detroit skyline. The room itself was very spacious; the king bed was also very comfortable. The staff were friendly and when I had to cancel one of my 3 nights there was no hassle. Would stay here again if I'm in the area.

    « Great View »

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have been pleased with each stay. There is a great view of the Detroit River with the city skyline as a backdrop. The staff is professional and the rooms and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is adequate, although the eggs and sausages are a little questionable. Overall, it is a good value for the money.

« Not a great place for children on holidays »

I stayed at this hotel with my three children over New Year's Eve this year. Everything seemed fine until the entire hotel started to fill up with American teenagers who came over the border to get drunk with Canada's lower drinking age. By the time we put our children to bed for the night, the entire lobby was swarming with drunk teenagers, swearing and being rowdy. I understand that people celebrate on New Year's Eve, but the parties at this hotel went all night, into the morning, on every floor of the hotel. Our floor (7th) was possibly the worst, with people yelling, swearing, and fighting in our hallway, well past 4AM. My wife and I were trying to keep our kids asleep, and we were too scared to go out into the hallway to ask the drunks to be quiet. The teenagers had torn down ceiling tiles and crumbled them on the floor outside our room, and at 3:30AM, security finally came to remove some of the rowdiest kids. (I later learned that one of them was arrested). I informed the hotel staff that we would not have booked this hotel if we knew that every floor was going to be reserved for rowdy drunk teenagers, but the staff seemed to shrug it off, claiming this is what happens being so close to the border. More security and better enforcement of quiet at night would be recommended. I realize that it was New Year's Eve, but the festivities should start to wind down at midnight and not ramp up for the next 4 hours. I likely will not return to this hotel.

« Great location on waterfront »

Great hotel right on the waterfront. Close to everything including the casino. We stayed for a wedding in the attached centre for the arts. Overall great stay. Includes a free breakfast, but we did not wake up in time for it- that was my only regret!

« Lovely hotel right on the water »

We stayed on a Sunday evening. Check in was fast and hassle free. Our room was on the 15th floor with a panoramic view of the water and the Detroit riverfront. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. We had a small fridge inside the room. We were able to use their inside walkway and attend a comedy show later that evening at the Chrysler Theater. It was great not having to bundle up and walk or drive to the show. Also, the walk way was a nice short cut to the Keg restaurant. Parking was included with our room and was right outside the back of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was also included, but it was your typical cold scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, breads, etc. It was very crowded for breakfast. We will stay here again.

    « Nice hotel - great location! »

River view room. Quite nice and spacious. Over all clean but the bathroom needs updating and there was some mildew in the grout in the shower. We didn't have many dealings with the staff but house keeping was very nice.

« They are so rude »

The workers are rude. The hotel is clean, but I was not happy while staying there. I was charged higher rate because I didn't have my CAA membership card on me. I was able to get the difference back after arguing with them quite a while. felt so bad. I was there to relax, but they ruined my holiday.

    « Its a Matter of View »

Best Western Plus Waterfront Hotel is close to everything. Casino, bus station for getting to Detroit, downtown restaurants and best of all the Riverfront. Views from the room of the Detroit Skyline and river are fantastic. Recently renovated makes it a first class hotel at a reasonable price. Parking is in a garage across the street. Get a parking pass from the front desk and the rate is less.

    « Inexcusable behaviour »

Room is fine but service was just rude. An employee came up to our floor for a noise complaint and heard us laughing so knocked on our door. After telling us to be quieter he barged into our room and spoke directly to each person in the room with attitude. All of us were understanding and calm but he was not. This employee would not listen but continued to yell and threatened to call the police.

    « Still learning »

Rooms are beautiful and all face the river. New as a Best Western Hotel property. Still needs to learn the Best Western rewards system. I am a Diamond member with 90 stays per year. Most hotels recognize the loyalty upon registering with an upgrade to a suite if available. My upgrade was a corner room. Hotel breakfast was terrible. Bacon was raw and scrambled eggs floating in water. I think they need to improve quite a bit to be a Best Western Plus. Hotel advertises on site restaurant. There wasn't one.

« Very comfortable, great view, and no surprises »

This has been bought out by the Best Western (from the Hyatt) in mid 2015 and under new management, there are no more surprises. Bed is very comfortable, big screen TV still uses analog, but lots of stations. Hot breakfast in the morning with processed egg and bacon and sausage--nothing special, but good for complimentary.

    « Renovated and comfortable »

Had a great view of Detroit and the river from 21st floor. Bed was very comfortable. Hot breakfast was standard BW style. Located close to Ambassador bridge and U of Windsor. No surprises except my door on our side was in rough shape--perhaps it is on the to-do list.
