BW Premier Collection
Only stayed for one night but the room was nice and reasonably clean, bed was quite big and comfy. Close by to the train station about 5 minutes walk and about 10 minutes from Piazzale Roma if you get the bus from the airport. Couple of nice restaurants and convenience stores nearby too, bit of a walk to the sights but manageable.

We were wandering along after getting off the waterbus at the railway station, and came across this brilliant looking place for mid morning coffee We actually thought it was a new place, but later found out it was part of the hotel continentai- which years ago was very basic. Now the outside has the look and also feel of a very modern coffee house Great experience, and great personal service
We spent two nights at this hotel. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Venice train station by foot. Very important point to note if you're visiting Venice in winter when it floods. It is also just beside a very busy street lined with eateries and a supermarket. The room was very clean and spacious and had a great view of the canal. Do take note that the hotel lobby floods when the canal overflow. When this happens, hotel staff will lay elevated platforms for guests to get around.
The Continental was a very nice surprise in this magical and unique city. Stayed with my wife and kids for 3 nights and everything was amazing. Spacious room with comfortable beds, very large and modern bathroom. Breakfast was really good. Location could not be better: walking distance to Santa Lucia train station and the vaporetto stop, with restaurants and supermarkets nearby.
Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in February with my partner for a weekend break. We booked a superior room which was lovely with a great bathroom. The room had bath robes and slippers included which I think is a lovely touch, a mini fridge,a good sized tv, and good selection of toiletries included. The location is brilliant! Only a stones throw from the train station and grand canal. A good select of shops and restaurants in the area. Breakfast had a great selection of food and beverages with fresh honeycomb (I've never seen a hotel have this before) fresh fruit and lovely pastries. The waiters did a great job of making sure everything is stocked up. Our flight arrived before check in but we were able to leave our bags whilst we checked out the city and when we got our room key our bags were already in our room for us. Overall don't be put of by a few negative reviews because I think this hotel is fabulous!!
We stay 2 nights in this hotel. We was a good trip in the city but in this hotel , we try just 1 time a breakfast and we should cancel a second breakfast on next day cause , alls food it's not fresh ! Croissants, breads ... was old and from factory . Salami , delicatessen cheese ... from bad shop Egg from industry ... just cake ( from industry too but look good) Service is correct , but a lot group from Chinese and is very busy like cantine. The room is perfect but the bed is to small and we listent a some son like moteur of air conditioner all nights Nice decoration and very clean room. Nice vue front river and correct price. We paye 265 euros for 2 nights included a not tasted breakfast .
I stayed with my partner for three nights in January. Although we booked a normal double room, we got a superior room (with no views), which we found spacious, very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was well equipped and had a good make-up mirror, and the bed was comfortable. What we enjoyed most was the location of the hotel (literally 2 minutes away from a vaporetto stop, and 10 minutes away from the bus station in Piazzale Roma), and the breakfast, which was quite good. The only downside I would say was the fact that, in order to get to our room, we had to go past reception and then through a small open air 'patio' or corridor, having to take the rooms' card out multiple times to go through that way. This is because the hotel is composed of two separate buildings, and we were not informed of any corridor or internal connection between the two of them aside from that.
I booked this place as i saw the reviews were quite upbeat. But on day one evening the room and toilet had a horrible sewerage smell. We called housekeeping and this guy just came in sprayed something quickly and said ok? Then left. Next few days the smell nearly killed us from the sewerage. Could housekeeping consider leaving room freshner sprays or at least some nice smelling potpurri in the room? On last night of our stay, we couldnt find our tv remote. Asked housekeeping to bring us one. The housekeeping staff came and we literally flipped every pillow to find it - he then replaced one as we couldnt find the MIA remote. In the middle of the night i was wondering under the sheets why there was this “lump”- the missing remote control! Omg! Breakfast was a sad case. Day 1 - christmas morn as the original bfast room was flooded we had to use another location - hot food was served cold. Final 2 days of stay, bfast was served in the original bfast area - yes there was hot food - but the range was the same as first 2 days. The bright spot in this hotel? The service staff at the restaurant - Angelo in particular!
Booked a deluxe room with sofa, was put in a superior room, room was small, asked Front Desk if I had correct room, yes they said repeatedly, i took my laptop to the front desk and showed them on their own website, the room I was put in and the room I had paid for, front desk person says the will speak to manager in the morning, next morning front desk apologizes for the mix up with my booking and puts me in a suite. Does not apologize to me for her lies. Word of warning make sure you get what you pay for. Not a good look for Best Western. Also not too sure how honest the other hotel staff are, porters, maids etc.
We chose to stay at this hotel because of it's close location to the train/ bus station. If you do not care about being in the center (San Marco), this hotel/ area is good as it is close to a main vaporetto stop so you can easily take it to Rialto. When we first arrived, we were given a room in what seemed like another building (we had to go through a backdoor/ courtyard then up an elevator). There was a strange smell in the room so we asked if they had anything else available. Monica was very accommodating in finding us another room in the main building. The room was nice and very modern with a spacious bathroom. Unfortunately it faced a courtyard and you could hear people at all hours of the day and night. I should also add there are a lot of stairs so it can be hard to navigate if you have heavier luggage. Having breakfast included in the stay was a nice touch however it was not exceptional. Furthermore, housekeeping at this hotel was not good. It seemed as though the person making up our room was not paying attention as she made the sheets over the controller and did not replace the tea cups that were used. They also request that you put a doorknob sign if you want your room done each day which was tricky to remember. I realize this is for environmental reasons but perhaps they should do it the other way around - put a sign if you do not want your room refreshed that day.
The hotel is not safe to stay in at all. We have been stolen from the employees themself in the hotel while we went out ,then when we come back to the room we didn't found our money in the closed safety box it was 1850 euro they stole all our money. When we went to the reception they didn't do anything and they were so unhelpful with us and they said that they dont have camera and they couldn't access to the security system until the manager come on Monday however they know that we are traveling in the same date. The hotel was not cooperating with us and was dealing against us all the time .
We had a beautiful meal at this hotel and everything was served and cooked to perfection. Young lovely waitress she had suggested i try a regional wine i am not a wine drinker but it was very nice the girl knows her job. We then got service from the friendly bar/waiter gentleman who brought the wine bottle out so i could take a picture how thoughtful. My coat had fallen off the seat and a pleasant gentleman who had been working on his laptop took the seat from the table beside me and placed my coat on it i also thought it was a lovely gesture. Everything was tasty and fresh chicken was cooked to perfection and the steak was also cooked to perfection and very tasty. Service charge is on the bill but you can leave a wee tip as the service was 1st class at a well decorated beautiful restaurant thanks to all the staff.
I had a great experience overall in the hotel, The view from the room was amazing, the room itself is very spacious the bathroom is clean, the location is very centered. I would recommend it for others definitely.
Nice, clean hotel on the Grand canal, we got the room with canal view, rooms were clean and tidy and breakfast was good. This is a good hotel for families and the location is very busy with lots of shops.

We had a lovely room overlooking the Grand canal. (...Which is very busy!) The room looked lovely with a nice bathroom...although with a rubbish shower & cubicle. Went for breakfast at 10 (service till 10.30) limited food, staff very unfriendly and a rubbish coffee machine. Early hours of Monday morning we were woken with the banging of boats, pullies and hoists...all taking away stuff from the hotel and also delivering food and laundry?! Hours of noise!...no sleep!!

Fabulous location right on the Grand Canal in Venice. 10 minutes walk from the train station & right near the water taxi hub. Rooms are small but exceptionally clean, bathrooms are roomy & clean. Great breakfast selection & happy hour in the bar is excellent. Most staff were happy & welcoming.

Super location, if you arriving by train, because the train staiton is in a two minute walk distance only. The breakfast is sensational, very good quality food, in a high level of diversity. They even had honey-comb, which I never experienced elsewhere. You can have your breakfast outside in the terrace, at the Grand Canal. Also, very kind stuff everywhere in the hotel. But! The air conditon system was blowing 18 degree cold air, and we were there in and of October, the outside temperature was about 10-15 degree, so the room was a fridge. Since I couldn't turn it off, went to reception (the phone was not working in the room...) and they said, because of a "management decision" there is no heating in the hotel yet. At the breakfast everyone was sitting in coats because of the freezing conditions. Its really a waste, do not try to save on the heating system, this hotel is deserve more.
Nice hotel close to the train station but still quiet. We had the jr. suite and it was a nice sized room for three people. Just a note, it is on two levels and when the sofa bed is out it's a little tight to get to the bathroom. We really enjoyed the patio since the weather was nice. Breakfast was pretty good, nice selection but it can get pretty busy. The wait staff do a good job cleaning up and replenishing items. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Especially Islam the bartender. He made us excellent hot toddies after we explained how to. Excellent, excellent. And Jude the bellhop helped us with everything we needed. He always had a smile. Thank you.
We stayed here during our group tour of Italy. Right on the Grand Canal, not far from the train station, the location is excellent. Our room was absolutely tiny although nicely decorated. Bathroom could not have been any smaller. You have to close the door to get into the shower. Door brushes against the sink when you close it. Tiny. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet had a good selection of foods. Only 1 small elevator and stairway was a bit of a maze. WiFi connection was very bad at times. We checked in mid-afternoon and had some time to kill before going on a walking tour. Decided to have a beer, and as there was no one sitting on the outdoor patio we mentioned to the bartender that we wanted to take the beer outside. He told us he would have to charge us an extra 3.50 euros per person to have the beer on the patio. What a rip off, we just had the beer in the bar.
My husband and I spent a month in Italy, we had already been to 4 destinations, each one was exactly as described and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Each hotel provided us with local maps without asking and offered assistance with absolutely everything. What a shock to the system our Venice experience was. We arrived at the hotel with our giant suitcases and were checked in by the lady at reception who couldn't have cared less that we were there. We were pointed to the lift and offered no assistance with our luggage at all. We opened the door of our room and my husband could actually touch the roof of the room. It was so small we wouldn't have been able to both open our suitcases in it and still get around. When I booked the room I did so by going through the pictures on the website so I knew that it was not the room we had selected. My husband and I went down to the front desk and were told that there was no upgrade available and that the room we were in was the one we had booked. Thankfully I had the email booking confirmation which clearly showed a picture of a very different room. It was only then that the manager intervened and offered us a different room. Very bad first impression which didn't improve, 90% of the staff were unfriendly and the hotel was very noisy with housekeeping choosing to vacuum outside our door at 9:30 pm at night. The only good thing was the breakfast but I can safely say we will never be back and it put a dampener on an otherwise amazing trip. It would be great if the hotel was thinking about people being on their holiday and trying to make that a nice experience.
For a 4 star establishment to keep complaining about a leak in the bathroom and walking in on a man with towels trying to clean a wet floor is a embarrassment to the hotel. A trip to a 4 star hotel paying £800 for 4 nights on your mini honeymoon you would expect more help like move rooms but its clearly about just taking your money. Shame really.
We chose this hotel as it was recommended by a friend and easy to walk to from the train station The location is convenient to the water buses on the Grande Canal . We enjoyed our stay and found the staff friendly and helpful.
The Superior Room is too small and has very little drawer space to stay more than 1 night. Breakfast buffet area is very small making it difficult to get to the food and beverages. There are many steps to get to the rooms regardless of elevator access.
My husband & I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. Our room was very small. The aircon didn't work. The tech came twice and still couldn't fix it. We asked for a couples room being our honeymoon. They pushed two singles together with single sheets. We would have excepted it was made up to sleep like a double. The bed had something biting us in the sheets. When we went to reception they weren't very helpful. The manager moved us to a better room. Which was appreciated. Upon leaving they hit us with surprise city taxes. When we initially booked our agent said all fees & taxes were included. They asked us to pay in cash ONLY. We weren't able to put it out our card. Not happy!!! I feel the only good thing about this place was the location. Close to everything. Definitely would not stay here if we had our time again over.
excellent location on Grand Canal. Able to get to water taxis and across bridge easily. Nice hotel and staff were helpful. Room was very comfortable and large and bathroom very clean, large and well lite.
If I could give this hotel a “0” I would! Not worth your money or time. Requested water view- did not get it, ask for top of the line room-it was not close instead we were in an alley view over the back kitchen staff so you can imagine the noise (windows open because we had no AC) called & went to the front desk about the air and finally made them call someone to walk back upstairs with me and after 2 attempts with no success he said he would be right back and never showed up again. After a great dinner out come back to NO AC, husband went down to the front and the staff was RUDE. No AC again. I will Never stay here again.
Booked this hotel through the Best Western site. This hotel is close to the train station, and if you are coming by car it is 3 stops away from the main parkade using the #2 boat. Reception staff is super friendly, and Massimo, goes above and beyond. The room we had, overlooked the Gran Canal and could not have been nicer. We had dinner in the dining room and the food was good and the staff were super helpful. One downside, when there are tour groups it can get a bit hard to find a table at breakfast.
The hotel has tiny rooms but is a good hotel and has a good breakfast. I was totally disappointed with reception team.I forgot my passport in the safe when I checked out and noboby could send it to me by Fedex. I was in a city 150 km distant from Venice and called the reception 3 times and send 4 emails and nobody really cared about my situation. I took a train on the following day to go back to Venice to collect my passport. Thanks for nothing.
Paid $750.00 for two nights for a suite (they call junior) for three adults. We got one full bed in an upstair room and a pull out couch on the entry level. Only one bathroom on the entry level and when the couch is made into a bed good luck on squeezing by. Save your money OR be sure you know exactly what you are paying for.
Couldn't have stayed at a nicer hotel. View of the Grand Canal was fantastic and location was great, easy walkable access to the train station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nicely decorated.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights in August 2019. We got an excellent rate through the hotel's website using BW Rewards. Because of the fantastic rate we got, I do think this hotel represented value for money. Had we paid full price for the room, I would have felt hard done by. The room itself was tiny but lovely. We'd paid for a canal view and were on the 1st floor with a sideview of the Ponte Scalzi. The smell from the canal was quite strong with the heat, and the mosquitos were terrible, even with having the windows closed 99% of the time. This isn't the hotel's fault by any means - but something to keep in mind. However, the music from the hotel bar/restaurant was loud and played well into the wee hours of morning. The room did not have an iron or ironing board. We requested one right after we checked in, and were told there weren't enough to go around so we'd have to wait until the next day. We did get one the following day after another visit to reception. The mini bar was small but kept our bottles of water cold. The AC was good and helped with the crazy humidity. The location is excellent as it is a stone's throw from both the station and the Ferrovia. You can walk to the San Marco area in about 30 minutes. On the day we checked out they had an area for us to leave our luggage. The staff were lovely and helpful to the best of their ability. The breakfast was easily the worst part of our stay here. The pastries were clearly from some kind of cash and carry, the orange juice machine broke every five minutes, the coffee machine was of the office vending machine variety, and the hot food (eggs, “bacon” (fried parma ham), and sausages) stank and were less than palatable. Overall, a pleasant, if unremarkable stay. We'll stay elsewhere when we next visit Venice, but for a relatively cheap option it was worth the money.
VERY-VERY-VERY RUDE personal!!! I never meet this before. Waiter didnt allowed us to order a dinner in EMPTY restaurant bc.... all tables under reservations! We asked than just to order something to drink... no !!! HE SAID NO!!! So, they just made us sure to go out! Imagine it!!!

Wonderful hotel with recently updated rooms. We were given an upgrade to a canal view which was breathtaking. Rooms were clean, cozy, and provided everything we needed. The staff was very helpful and willing to go above and beyond.
The hotel is located on the Grand Canal near the train station within easy walking distance from a Vaporetto stop (Ferrovia). Having just come from a truly fine hotel in Switzerland, we were shocked at what we found here. The room was small, with a small bathroom which contained a tiny shower. The shower was so small that you had to be a contortionist to be able to wash your feet. Breakfast was included in the price, but when we came down to the breakfast room the first day, we found that it was small and extremely noisy. The food was ok, but if you weren't lucky enough to find a spot on the terrace outside you had to put up with a crowd of loudly talking tourists augmented by loud and unpleasant music that was piped in. It was enough to make you sick. There was an offer of 10% off in the main dining room, but that too was made intolerable by loud music blaring at all times. The staff were accommodating and helpful, but this is not a place I would recommend. I should add that prior to coming to Venice, I contacted the hotel via email about the best transportation options from the airport, but I never got a response. As a result, our trip from the airport to the hotel wound up being a lot more complicated than it should have been.
The Hotel Continental has a terrace restaurant called “Cocai”, overlooking the grand canal. The location and the setting are absolutely beautiful and the reason we chose the venue to host a birthday lunch for 35 people. We had mozzarella, salad, prosciutto and aubergine parmiagiana which were excellent. The only thing we thought was very average was the carbonara. It didn't taste nice and had hardly any pancetta in it. Apart from the bad pasta, it was a lovely place for lunch. Excellent location, lovely views, nice terrace. I would definitely return again, though I would avoid the carbonara. Thanks for having us!
A lovely hotel to stay in and not far to walk from either railway or bus station. Quaint streets surround it and also the grand canal flows behind so easy to pick up a water bus. We were so pleased with the location and ease of getting around Venice from there. We given an upgrade on arrival so we were excited about this as our large spacious room overlooked the Grand Canal so we were able to watch everything going on early morning and in the evening. Good double glazing kept the noise out, not that it was that bad to be fair. Breakfast offered lots of choice, however as a diabetic I found it very Carbohydrate heavy but then breakfasts are in Europe. Lovely to sit and eat your breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. We did not have time to sample the food in the restaurant at night, which was unfortunate, but we will next time that we visit. Would recommend.
This hotel is worth every penny. The breakfast was the best we had in our entire month in Europe. The rooms are Spacious and updated witch is hard to find in Venice. Great bathrooms and soft beds. If I'm ever in Venice again I'll be staying at this place for sure.
The hotel and room itself was nice, large modern room with a great bathroom. Great aircon. We had no towels in our room, asked three times with no success until our room was cleaned the second morning. The location of the hotel is close to the main station which we thought would be the most convenient but there were no good restaurants in the area. The San Marco area seemed like the place to be, with more happening and much better less touristy restaurants, but it was quite a long walk to get there, certainly too far to go every night and in the August heat wasn't a great walk during the day.
I stayed for 1 nite at this hotel as I transited through Venice to northern Italy. Having been to Venice many times previously- I knew I needed a hotel located close to the Train Station (as I was heading out by train the next day). Venice is super difficult to navigate with luggage, so location drove my choice of hotel. This hotel is located less than 5 minutes easy walking from the Station. Location is also great being surrounded by many shops and restaurants. My room was newly renovated, large and bed was comfortable. Room rate was very reasonable for Venice. Room for improvement: The breakfast was included in my room rate. It was like a stampede in the small breakfast room. It is not large enough to cater for the large tourist groups that were present. Food was very poor quality. Overall the hotel was a good choice. I would stay here again.
I had booked this hotel for a 4 night stay. Being our wedding anniversary I thought, given the price asked for a superior room, we would be delighted by this hotel. Far from that. The rooms are VERY small, and the one we got was DIRTY (one wall was covered with dirty marks, ceiling as well). We complained but got no help from a disdainful manager. Needless to say the wall was never cleaned during our stay despite our reclamation. Even the card holder they gave us to keep our room key was hold and dirty. The last day, the towels were not changed even if we asked for it. Moreover the hotel wrote us the day just before our stay to tell use our credit card was not valid. Providing a new one and asking for a retry, the reception finally got it to work. I strongly suspect it to be a scam to free some room as the manager admitted to have booked more rooms than he had Really an awe full experience in this hotel not worthy either of 4 stars nor its best western name.
The hotel is perfectly situated, close to the train station and vaporetto stop. Room is very small, but very functional, for one person is ideal. If you have a canal facing room, the view on the Grand Canal is splendid. The only minus is noice from the canal's trafic - if you keep your windows open at night, it is a bit disturbing. But if you do't mind air-condition and close the windows, it is fine. The only reservation is that coffee could be better at breakfast.
This hotel is not 4 star, the room we had was a closet for 4 people. The shower kept flooding ever time we showered.The hotel is 2 buildings looks like they bought next door and renovated (Still). Had to ask 4 times for towels(mop up shower spill).given wrong information regarding taxi fares, over all a very disappointing visit, not BW standards.

If you are staying for a maximum of two nights and can tolerate some rude staff, then this hotel will be fine. The rooms were standard and what you would expect of a Best Western. We had to change rooms after in our original room (which for 4 of us was very cramped, but would have sufficed for two nights), the bathroom floor had water seeping out of it, more each time you walked in. Now, wether or not this was a leak or water that had gathered underneath the floor over time - this not what you would expect of a 4 star hotel neither does it match what we were paying for. The staff did try to help, however their solution wasn't adequate as they simply just laid towels across the bathroom floor, my wife was concerned that if it was a leak from the toilet it would be a serious health issue. She spoke to the manager who was adamant that they were fully booked however after she told him about her worry about health issues, a room seemed to become available. We were moved to a much more spacious room on the third floor over looking the grand canal, the room was clean and the bathroom floor was not leaking. Only three beds were made up so upon asking for the fourth bed to be made up, the staff were very slow and rude to do so. We also had troubles with the coffee cups not being replaced the following day so we had to once again ask for something that really should have already been done. The breakfast was good, but very busy so get down there early. Good location near to the train station.
Pros - Close to good transport links, good variety of food/drinks at breakfast, quiet. Cons - Hot drinks machine might not be working properly. Family of 4 adults, and was provided with a room which had a double bed and a sofa bed, which was uncomfortable. No upgrades to a bigger room offered, despite discussion with manager. Stained bedsheets provided for both beds.
Great location, right next to Grande Canal. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Our room was quite small, but very clean and modern. We didn't have full carpet at our room which was a great thing! Bed was quite large and comfort. Window was towards to the street so there was some noise but it didn't bother us. AC worked well. The breakfast was comprehensive. Only minus thing was that if you wanted to eat on terrace, there was a lot of arrogant pigeons and seagulls which were eager to eat your breakfast.
If this is a 4 star hotel, then I would hate to see what 3 stars looks like. The location is the only positive quality. Otherwise, it is run down, beat up, tiny, and indifferent when it comes to service. Try to stay elsewhere!
Nice family room. The sofa bed consists of 2 beds, however one of the beds was not converted to a real bed, was actually just the sofa with a sheet on it. But still ok for a kid to sleep on. Nice view on the canal. Breakfast better than expected. Perfect located nearby the train station and airport buses.
Bed bugs! There were mold spores And bed bugs everywhere! I let them know immediately. However the staff didn't seem to mind. May I remind you that mold is a severe hazardous health and safety concern to those who suffer from pulmonary or respiratory conditions! Despite all of this, this hotel was simply dirty!!!!! The service truthfully just sucked as it pertained to check-in, lobby staff, restaurant staff, etc. Again, if you accustom to quality 5 star service, you'll definitely not get it here. They have no clue about hospitality here. It really is a good cover story, yet they fell short over and over again. I truly suggest you go elsewhere. Venice itself was beautiful! The hotel was nice although the room for 4 people was very small. Modern look which was nice and nice beds also. They offered breakfast which was really good too! Very close to the train station which was a huge plus and located on the canal
Staff was not supportive in contacting t the authorities to get rid of pan handler screaming and scaring pedestrians. Said nothing they could do. Same person was taken away by police the night before. Was not willing to help what so ever. Stay if you don't want to get any sleep!!!!
Everything was beyond our expectations, the staff runs the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable, hotel was very clean, beautiful rooms (especially the one with canal view) with a great location. Wonderful breakfast. Will definitely come back!
We arrived as a walk-in at 9.30pm after our flight was cancelled and we needed a hotel close to the station for an early getaway the following morning. The hotel, which is alongside the Grand Canal, is ideally located for the train station being less than 5 minutes walk away, but a fair walk away from St Marks, so it's not in the heart of the Venice action. Closest vehicular access is Piazza Roma which is a 5-10 minutes walk away. Our room (500) was a top floor suite, a large room with a lounge area and two balconies, both with great views along the canal. The room furnishings were sumptuous and the bathroom luxurious with a spa bath and fancy shower. That would set the hotel up to be great, but there are just too many issues that you would not expect from a hotel of this level: 1. the biggest by far is that the bathroom smelt of drains as if there was no water in one of the U traps, but despite running all of the taps several times to ensure all the U traps were filled the smell did not clear. Our stay was only short, overnight, I could not have stayed any longer with this smell, which made me feel sick. I have subsequently seen other reviewers complaining of this issue - it is disappointing that it appears an ongoing issue and it is not being fixed. 2. There were two small iron chairs on one balcony (which looked most uncomfortable), but the height of the solid balcony sides meant you couldn't enjoy the view (just see sky) if seated outside or from inside. 3. The hotel seems to comprise a conglomerate of adjoining buildings which made navigating to our room quite convoluted - we had to take a lift then navigate a warren of corridors which included up and down stairways before taking a second lift and finally ascending a stairway once we entered our room. 4. It was also disappointing that as a walk-in they were only willing to beat by a few Euros (1%) the prices from online aggregators despite saving the hefty commissions they would otherwise pay if I had booked online through an aggregator. The original price I was quoted was 10% higher than the online aggregator I had on my screen. 5. Coffee/tea facilities but no milk. Overall, this place could make for a very comfortable stay, but until some of the issues have been resolved (esp the smell). I'd look elsewhere the next time I am in Venice.
Had two different rooms as we were many people, the first had this horrible smell, the other luckily did not. When we asked the staff, we were told that it was the canals that smelled. They tried to “fix” it by throwing water into one of the drains in the bathrooms. This did not help and we had to sleep with this surrounding smell. Sad that a hotel with such a great location and good looking+clean rooms, looses so much on service and this awful smell. Sadly we will not come back here.
The room had a truly excellent view right on the grand canal - we had paid quite a lot for it. Unfortunately it was tiny with hardly any space and we were constantly knocking things over. Also, the noise from the canal started around 6 a.m. and soundproofing was non existant. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. The promised gluten free section for my wife who is coeliac had little of any interest, lip service really. The real problem was at check out. The porter pointed out the mini bar and clearly told us it was complementary so we shared a half bottle of prosecco . The charge for this was around 18 euros and staff on reception were clearly unconcerned that we had been misled. As they were busy firefighting an irate american who had been incorrectly told her breakfast was included (admitted by staff) and was then charged for it I ended up paying and being left with the feeling that the hotel reflected our general impression of Venice - overcharged and underwhelming.
We picked this hotel for location, hotel standard & canal view terrace, we were travelling to several places in Italy so wanted easy access to the bus and train station as well as being able to get around Venice. We got the water bus to St Marks square to see the city from the water and then walked back via all the other sites we wanted to see. This is a nice and reasonably easy walk if you walked direct it would probably take around half an hour however we took a leisurely walk stopping off at various sites. The room was nice and well decorated and the bed very comfortable, however we were given a room that was a strange shape due to the lift shaft in one corner and stairs in the other, this meant the room was quite small and difficult to walk around the bed and no room to open a suitcase. We did ask to move but the hotel was fully booked they found us a different room the next day however we kindly declined it as we felt it was quite difficult to find our way to that part of the hotel and as we only had 2 nights left and would not be in the room that much it was not really worth the bother, we thanked them for the offer. The air conditioning was very good, the best we found in the places we stayed in Italy. The breakfast had quite a large variation, cooked items, baked goods, fresh fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheeses and the coffee was lovely. The bar is pleasant and reasonably priced, there is a nice canal side terrace which you could use in the morning, however Very disappointing is the cover charge in the day/night to use your own hotel terrace doubling the price of a drink so we didn't bother. Part of the attraction of the hotel is the canal view terrace so really disappointing to find out you have to pay to use it. Overall the rooms were nice and the location convenient.
We should have eaten every meal here. Frederico was a great server and the food was amazing. The restaurant is right on the grand canal. There is a 10% discount if you are staying at the hotel. Thanks
Loved the staff and the food at breakfast was very good quality. The room quality was high and the bed was very comfortable. Very pleased with our mini break thanks to the hotel. Location was quite far from the main attractions but the walk to them was very pleasant.
Very bad service behind the desk, charging things we didn't have and also very noisy room with trollies going up and down. The food was very expensive and not the best service either over there. The worse service in Venice by far
Returned to our room to find that our room was cleaned but no towels or toiltries were replaced. We called reception to advise, after 10 mintues i called again to remind them to be received by a rude response. After 30 minutes i went o reception only to encounter a rude manager abruptly advising that one of his staff would be coming soon. They staff made us feel like we stole the towels and it was a huge inconvenience to receive new. We the porter finally came with towels he handed us one towel, i quickly advised that we didnt receive any towels in the last clean he went and tooka look himself like he didn't believe me. on check out no "how was your stay" . Very disappointing as we really enjoyed our visit to Venice, but i would never stay at this hotel again.
Hotel Continental by Best Western is nice hotel of Venice located at good place. Nice rooms with all facilities and nice wash room. Breakfast is also good. One thing which bothered us is stairway and lift. We have 3 suitcases with us and our room was on 3rd floor, when reached on 3rd floor through small lift, there are more stairs in corridors which bothered us to carry our luggage to room. Otherwise nice hotel in Venice.
Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for my 30th Europe roadtrip in mid June and omg it was beautiful. Upon check in the staff were lovely and couldn't be more friendly. They upgraded our room for my birthday which was a lovely surprise. The room was 2 levels and gorgeous. We wish we were staying longer then 1 night. The location was brilliant and so quick and easy to find from the car parks outside of Venice. A 5 min walk over the main bridge. Will definitely be coming back Thanks Claire and matt
My daughter and I stayed here on a Trafalgar Tour. We had a room on the first floor, which was just up a few steps and easy to get to without having to use the elevator. Our room was small, but it had enough room to walk around the bed and each side had a nightstand. It was very quiet, and the bathroom was nice. We had a buffet breakfast, which was delicious. I loved the huge wedge of honeycomb! The pastries were super. They had the basics plus a lot more. It was right beside the water. We could not see the water from our room, but it was very easy to catch a water bus or taxi from there. We really enjoyed our stay.
We recently went to Venice and decided to hit the easy button and stay in the city for 2 nights, so we looked for one of our point earning memberships and the BW Continental was the best bargain. We got upgraded to a great room with a view of the grand canal, comp'd Breakfast, and were treated like royalty. Room was great, a bit small, but heck we did not plan to spend much time in the room so as long as it had a comfy bed, a/c, and a warm shower we were good to go. I highly recommend if you are looking to get the real feel of Venice you strongly consider this hotel. Breakfast was superior and the ability to have breakfast right on the grand canal was a once in a lifetime event. Great stay...hope yours is as well
I just needed to get out of the flow of Tourist. Stopped for a coffee. Perfect service and quality china. Surprised by the LOW price, perfect coffee and attentive staff so made it my coffee spot for my time in Venice.

We had to deal with rude people for the check in (at 2:30 pm, WTF) and also for the check out (at 12 of course...) it says 4 stars hotel but of course it's not a 4 stars. Bad smell in the room (because of the bathroom I guess)
Hi I have been there twice this year and unbelievable but truth the same problem. I reserved a room A and I received the room B. The first time I accepted the error. The second time I was quite pissed. After several discussions I got the next day the reserved and pre-paid rooms. Management promised that I would be refunded for the errors but this has not happened and declined afterwards. Nice ... Talking with staff it sounds that this is a regular practices be careful. BTW, the room which we received the first night smelled like moisture. Just to complete our disappointment.
Great location right on a main canal in Venice. Close to train station, and transportation. Close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Hotel is in good condition and the breakfast was good. We would stay here again.
The Hotel is in a good location close to the bus and train station if a little difficult to find. The building fronts onto the main street passed the train station. However this is the entrance to the Bistro (of a different name). Even one of the patrons of the Bistro, outside smoking, sent us to the wrong entrance! The main reception entrance is down the right hand side of the building heading towards the Canal Grande. Not sign posted at all! As it fronts onto the Canal Grande do not expect to get a lay in if your room overlooks that or is above the reception entrance because work starts early for the water buses and refuge collectors!!
The location is excellent, just 3 min walk from the station, in the middle of the shopping street, many restaurants/shops around the hotel, and along the canal. We stayed canal view room with veranda, it is like staying in the picture. Facility and hardware are not 5 stars, but more than enough. The service in the front and restaurant is good enough and properly. The frontman recommended some good restaurants, they are all excellent and delicious. Really recommend staying. 兎に角、ロケーションが良いに尽きます。駅から歩いて３分、駅から続くショッピング通りの中段にあり、ボート乗り場の駅前にありますし、レストランやお土産屋もホテルの周りに迷うほど沢山あります。そして運河沿い。今回運河沿いの部屋に泊まりましたが、まるで絵の中に泊まっているような感じでした。ハードウェアは５つ星ではないですが、必要十分にあり、サービスもいいです。フロントが勧めてくれたレストランも非常に良いチョイスでした。お勧めです。

Immaculately renovated, quality bedding, bath robes, safe and mini bar. Friendly staff, situated in the heart of Venice, English spoken, and breakfast is included. We look forward to our few days in this beautiful city.
updated botique style hotel. Rooms are small but well appointed. Great location near bus station, boat stops, shopping. We would stay there again if we return to Venice. Internet is limited. Breakfast buffet is expensive and loaded with carbs, but its breakfast.

Arrived today for a 3 night stay. Bathroom has a fowl sewage smell. To top it off have spent 2 hours trying to get the heating working. After approaching the desk. They have turned the heating off for summer OMG it's 8 deg c.
Absolutely wonderful experience! The hotel held our luggage until it was time for our train and I had left my tablet in the room and they were so quick to make sure I got it back when we picked up our bags. Great staff!
It rains and it's hard to find a cozy place to read and enjoy a good glass of wine. But we found a good spot. The buffet with little bits and bites is fancy. You find sofas and cozy chairs at the bar. The staff is very friendly. A good place to spend a rainy afternoon.
Great location close to train station. Hard to find front entrance to hotel around the side. Staff are great from the front desk , Management and front staff and maids. Very clean but a little tired. Please get rid of the spaghetti centre pieces.

Spent a week in Venice during April 2019 and stayed at the Continental Hotel. Overall a good location and a good hotel. 30 minute boat ride from the airport. Has a boat drop off and pick up right beside the hotel Bedrooms recently refurbished but a little small for the price. Hotel has a lift for easy access to bedrooms Air conditioning only available with conditions Breakfast was very good Restaurant "independent "of hotel but in the same building,.limited menu choice and quite expensive. Lots of local shops and restaurants and take away.s on the doorstep. Recommend getting transfer by boat to the hotel Beautiful city St Marks Plaza a must see. Buy queue jumper ticket on line for 3 Euros on line AND PRINT OFF the voucher. The golden alter is impressive nut the treasure room not as good. Public toilets are clean BUT all cost 1.5 Euro to access. A great holiday destination but take a lot of money with you. Eddie Glasgow
On our wonderful Italy trip, Venice was the last destination which we loved so much. But this hotel did everything possible to ruin that for us. Rude staff, non-functional WiFi, bad service all contributed to that. There were mosquitoes in our room, but the hotel wasn't helpful at all - do yourself a favor and go somewhere else since this is an issue in Venice and you need a hotel staff that is ready to help. Instead we had to deal with a Rude staff member that said it's not their responsibility and if we have a problem we can email the hotel. How does that help me in the middle of the night when we can't sleep. You ask for coffee and they don't understand the difference between regular coffee and gave us decaf instead. You tell them this is decaf, and then you see their rude side telling us this is "nescafe" - they are not patient enough to listen to their guests. WiFi doesn't work most of the time and you don't get any cellular network in the room. All in all a terrible experience. Look for a different place.
Beware. I've stayed at many a hotels but have never experienced as deplorable service/ hospitality as here. There were mosquitoes in our room and the receptionist told us "Sorry, I cannot help you, it's not my responsibility". After walking 20k steps through the day, this was NOT what we were looking forward to. There's one thing being rude, there's another just shrugging your shoulders at your guests' helplessness. Do yourself a favor and don't let a night at this hotel spoil your stay in this beautiful city. We couldn't get a minute of sleep, we were at the mercy of the hotel staff and they just shooed our problems away. "Sir, I cannot sleep, I have mosquitoes in my room, in YOUR hotel " "Sorry madam, not my problem. Bad luck you chose to stay with us".
Venice is not a convenient city, getting there is not easy, moving about the city is also not easy, so why not stay in as convenient and comfortable place as possible. The Hotel Continental is a convenient 5 minute walk from the railway station, first stop on the waterway from the airport. The hotel is a Best Western, run very efficiently. Our breakfast was included, it was very well presented. Our room was large and had a canal view. The Wi-fi was good, bathroom was modern and clean. You don't need a better location in Venice than this one.
This hotel is very convenient if you need to get to the airport early in the morning and that's why I chose it in the first place. 10min walk from the taxi pick up zone and buses to the airport, the hotel is really well decorated and clean. Rooms aren't the biggest I've seen for a 4 stars hotel, but it was enough.
We stayed 4 nights The location is great as a starting point to visit the city. The breakfast is good. The room is ok, but the bathroom was smelling all the time horrible. We informed the reception every day. On the 3rd day it seemed to be better. Nobody said sorry or offered us an alternativ room. So the interessed in satisfying the customer doesn‘t seem to be very high. Even without the smell the price for such a hotel is too hight. Other points: - no international program on TV - we had very nice weather but the nice terrace at the waterside was not prepared to be open
It was a very nice hotel in very good location close to the train station on the grand canal. The decoration of the room was very stylist and modern with very nice bathroom and very good bed. The cleaning of the room was amazing and of course the most important was the amazing view of the grand canal! Great customer experience. Thank you
3 night stay in Feb 2019. Great location to walk everywhere. On check in was given a room with a terrible smell, room two was the same, room three was perfect. Beware, construction work in the hotel at the moment. Builders started at 0830 and were using heavy machinery during the afternoon. Bar / reception / restaurant staff very helpful and I had the best risotto I have ever tasted in the restaurant. Great choices for breakfast, worth getting an inclusive.
We stayed here for 3 nights, the location is excellent, we had a view of the street bustling below, but there are rooms with canal views. We arrived early and the staff were happy for us to leave our suitcase, and when we returned it was already in our room. The room was bigger than I expected after reading reviews here, and the bathroom was a good size too compared to others. We had a slight noise issue on one of the nights as the bar directly below clearly had a party going on, but it didn't go beyond midnight (we were room 114). The breakfast was adequate, and the views from the breakfast room onto the canal were smashing. All in all a very good place to stay
A great location within walking distance of the station. Small but very tastefully decorated bedrooms. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room overlooking the canal. Disappointed with the breakfasts - buffet style but with limited choice of food. Good bar area although the price of alcohol was somewhat expensive (as seemed to be the case in Venice generally). I would stay here again!
This hotel is just the best for convenience to the bus stop and train station. Also has water bus stop 5 minutes away. The location is also perfect for getting around all the districts of Venice. No need to stay near St Marks square and pay more for a hotel. This hotel serves as an excellent base for all attractions of Venice. Other positives are: * quality and variety of breakfast items both cooked options and continental. * check in staff very pleasant and efficient. * rooms are of very good size for Venice. Lovely modern bathroom as well as handy features in room - tea and coffee facility, safe deposit in room, very good Wi-Fi signal, robes and slippers provided, toiletries provided lots of space for hanging clothes up. * hotel was very clean and tidy. I would 100% recommend you to stay here. Everything from the hotel is within walking distance. Plenty of food choices nearby. Go for it and book it.
We stayed for 3 nights in total and this hotel made our trip. To start with it is easy to find as its only 5 minute walk from the train station/coaches. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome! We were a bit early to the hotel (before check in) by they gladly looked after our luggage whilst we went and explored, when we checked in our luggage bad already been taken up to our room. Great service! The room is modern and very clean, its been done up to a high standard. Also one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! The breakfast is amazing, there's a huge selection of hot and cold food, we were quite late to breakfast and they were still putting out fresh dishes. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone!!
Our room was full of dust, dirt and dead mosquitos on the walls. Facilities were old like cold and hot water separated. Shower door destroyed. This was my worst 4 star hotel at BW experience. Normally i am satisfied with the chain, this time not at all. Location is excellent that why they get 1 star.
There was a terrible noise in other room.These noises involved a women crying for hours starting at 11pm -1am. We phone reception as violent unsafe noises from room beside us. My partner was extremely concerned about the wellbeing of the women with the room, constant banging scream and swearing.Staff told us to go and knock the door ourselves. To be told this in the situation was very unprofessional under the circumstances that we felt uncomfortable and unsafe to an extent. Very unhelpful and we weren't able to get much sleep at all on the night. This ruined our first 2 days of the trip.
My wife and I stayed at the BW Hotel Continental for four nights as part of a short Vacation in Italy, that started on New Years Eve in Florence. This hotel is located a few hundred meters, an easy walk with typical luggage, from the train station (Santa Lucia) in Venice, right on the Grand Canal. In fact, our room looked out onto the canal. The exterior of this hotel has been updated without giving up the historical aspects that make it fit into area. On the other hand the inside of this hotel is completely updated, with lots of conveniences. Our room was not large but was more than adequate and we didn't go to Venice to spend time in the room. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Our reservation included breakfast and the eating area and food were very good. A good selection of breakfast foods. Staff was very professional and helpful when called upon for information or suggestions. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we should ever visit Venice again.
This hotel is amazing. I felt great here. I spent lovely moments with my grilfriend. Also, the capucino of Meed was WOW!!! Franco was also very carefull with us! So, my advise is: go there and enjoy that!!!
Stayed here for 2 nights with family of 4. Deluxe family room bit squishy for 4 people. Very bad smell from bathroom was offensive, had to sleep with bathroom window open. Advised staff who appeared to address the issue but it didn't last long and the smell was back again in less than 12hrs. Very good location to train station but you pay for it! Be careful of the smell.
The Continental Hotel has an excellent position in Venice and is a gorgeous hotel. The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious for Venice. The breakfast was very good and included lots of choice. I found the staff exceptional and would highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel really delivers a surprisingly high quality of services that surpass my expectation. I hardly understand some low reviews. Firstly, the room interior looks more exquisite and modern than the photos on the internet, mainly because the hotel recently undergoes a huge renovation. Secondly, it's sheer proximity to the everything including the station and the friendliness of the staff make the stay comfortable and welcoming. This is highly appreciated especially based on my experience with typical Italians attitude towards tourists in general. Lastly, the breakfast was very fulfilling with wide variety of hot and cold food choices accompanied by great coffee. The Georgian waitress who looked after me was very attentive and friendly. My only regret was I should have booked the room with breakfast included earlier, but I've noticed no one recommends the breakfast in the review. I am happy with my stay, and I hope the hotel will continue to maintain this high level of services to their client.
We were non hotel guests but attracted by menu at the hotel's cicchetti cafe. We were disappointed with the service and food. The food took some time to come. But when served the spaghetti were actually cold. The grilled fish have strong charred taste. A bit over grilled. Disappointed as we expected higher standard from hotel.
This hotel is in a great location and the staff is extremely friendly. They allowed us to store our luggage at check-out in order for us to tour the city for a few more hours before departing. Our main concern and reasoning for the average rating was the repugnant smell in the bathroom. We had to sleep with the windows open and shut the bathroom door because the smell became unbearable and to a certain extent toxic. We kindly asked the front desk and they sent us a service man who said it was as a result of the smell of the city water and left us spray. I would request to check your room before storing your items to avoid this from occuring during your future stay.

I stayed here with my husband, late honeymoon. This hotel is just a three minute walk from the train station. Perfect location, overlooking the canal. From the front desk agent to the breakfast staff, to the hotel manager and his assistant everyone was a pleasure to deal with . We traveled there just a few days after seeing the huge flooding all over the news. I called the hotel not sure what to do and they quickly reassured me that this is just an unusually high tide and it turned out to be just that. We had a huge deluxe beautiful room overlooking the canal. Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruits, many pastries, honeycomb, fresh juice, so many choices. The best breakfast in our week vacation. Hotel is great for families, couples. I hope I get to visit again soon. Next time for a bit longer
Great location 3 minutes walk from the train station. Friendly helpful staff. The room was lovely, stylish, recently renovated and clean. I was more than happy with my experience until I was woken around 6.30/7.00am by the rubbish collection, which is craned onto a boat after metal trollies are clattered across the cobble stones to said boat - I think it must have been the weekly collection because it went on for ages. I ended up putting on an audio book with headphones and eventually drifted back off to sleep ...only to wake late and discover Id missed breakfast, which I'd paid extra for, so, that was disappointing. I would recommend this hotel, but I would make sure to see about a quiet room.
Just returned from a trip to Venice, where I stayed at this beautiful, quaint hotel - and I just cannot say enough wonderful things about it! Our room was overlooking the Grand Canal - with the windows in the room open, you could see and hear all of the sights along the Canal - what an awesome experience! The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, recommending everything from where to shop, calling for water taxis, and recommending a wonderful Venetian family-owned restaurant! The hotel was impeccably clean, and the rooms were large with extremely comfortable beds. I will definitely return to this hotel when I get to go back to Venice!
We were in Italy for a week and stayed at 3 hotels total(Rome, Florence, Venice). This was by far the best out of 3. The hotel is newly renovated and in a great location (close to train/bus station, restaurants and shopping). Staff was very nice and friendly and the breakfast was great. The downsides are the room was VERY small, so small that we did not have much room to walk or move with our suitcases in the room. There also is not very much shelving available in the shower/bathroom to put toiletries etc. Otherwise it was a very comfortable stay.
Had a 5 night stay this time (2nd visit) and found the renovated hotel great The renovations have been done sympathetically for a 15th century building. The bathrooms were tired and dated but we now have bright modern facilities. The addition of the bar at the entrance replacing reception is fantastic and it is a elegant warm place to enjoy a drink at any time. Also serves food. The staff whilst friendly and immaculate require some training...watching the customers is vital to maximize revenue. Overall whilst expensive this hotel is a great find with fantastic location and great ambiance.
Great hotel close to the train station. Our room was newly renovated and larger than expected. Breakfast had a good variety and the dining room overlooked the Grand Canal. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the air conditioning was on the fritz for the 2 days we were there, it worked sporadically, which could have been the result of the construction outside our 1st floor window. That said, I would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay here again when in Venice.
Close enough to train no water taxi needed. Helpful staff willing to help find tours and places. Daily breakfast was more than enough to start the day. Very comfortable room with prompt daily service.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as part of our disastrous DeNure "Grand Tour of Italy". This was the 1st 2 nights of our 12 night journey and this hotel set the bar high (never to be matched again during our trip). The hotel is clean and modern. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Views from the patio are amazing. Good location for walking and to train station. Some in our tour complained about outside noise, but I slept like a baby!
5 mins walk from the station. For those who lazy to carry things, this is the one for the best chose. Also you can enjoy the morning breaky beside the river. But be careful the bird will take your food.
We arrived by shared water taxi which took us right to the hotel Arrived about 1pm and the room was already available. We was given one of the few rooms at the front of the hotel which overlooks the Grand Canal which was amazing. The hotel has recently had a renovation and the rooms are very modern and comfortable I would definitely stop here again
We stayed only one night in this modern recently renovated hotel,we loved it very much.It is on the grand canal ,near to railway station and a lot of restaurants.wifi was good and we loved the bathroom and the luxurious furniture of the rooms.fast check in and nice recption staff.we will definitely come again .
We stayed for 3 nights in a new modern duplex room. It needed a few tweaks to finish it off(bulbs in the lamps,a working safe) but it didn't detract from our enjoyment. Breakfast was adequate, and I say this because you usually request how you would like your eggs. Only scrambled eggs were offered, if you wanted poached I was told it would cost me 7 euros!!! Overall a pleasant stay, plenty of eateries on your doorstep.
Nice rooms, we had a view overlooking grande canal with balcony. Breakfast is excellent, staff was very professional and responsive. Everything was brand new and very pristine and clean. For an upper middle class family - this is 5 stars!
Since my last stay three years ago the hotel has been updated . The bedrooms are clean and fresh with a large comfortable bed much better than before . The tea tray in the rooms is pathetic with just two tubs of milk and one breakfast tea bag between two people ( penny pinching at its best). The buffet breakfast has a sparse selection the items are constantly running out and replenishment is extremly slow . The front of the hotel boasts a new cafe but this has been at the expense of the toilet facilities. This is a 4star hotel with a single cubicle for men and one for women at busy times ladies are using the gents and visa versa. I know toilets do not generate revenue but a 4 star hotel with only the same facilities I have in my house in this day and age just beggers belief.
Worst experience ever I had with this so called 4 Star category hotel. The front office manager was the most rude person I have come across. Instead of showing hospitality to visitors in their country he almost harassed us. Rooms we weren't clear and barely had a space to stand, forget moving around. We were waiting with kids in the lobby for almost an hour and instead of finding solution they gave up and didnt offer any helping hand. The rooms were extremely claustrophobic with bathrooms had no space to stand. On the contrary the F & B staff was warm and hospitable. This sour experience made our venice experience go real bad.
Stayed in this hotel for two nights. First impression: not too bad. In every inch a tourist hotel (understandably), but comfortable room with nice river view plus good location. However, on Saturday night it turned out to be disco night on ground level, with music causing bizarre loud noise in the hotelroom. Completely out-of-proportion. Earplugs didn't bring any relief - sleeping was impossible. If you plan to stay in this hotel: please don't intend to go to bed early! (To avoid any mistakes: living in a city center myself I'm not sensitive to noise at all - this was simply outrageous.)
This is a nice hotel close to the railway station. It is on the edge of the channel which our room overlooked. Overall the staff are pretty good and helpful. The restaurant produces good food with a limited choice but in saying that enough to choose from. Ithas a terrace on the water front which you should book with limited seating. The rooms are as described from the web site and are clean to a good standard.
We arrived in Venice and had to take a water taxi and it drops you right at the hotel via the canal. We were a group of 10 and all four couples got their rooms at around 1pm and we didn't get ours until 3pm which is fine because check in was at 3 but we arrived at 10am and we could have done some touristy stuff while waiting for our room. I just wished they had offered us water or a welcome punch but nothing. Once in the room everything was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and we could sit outside and watch the boats and gondolas go by. This hotel is centrally located to everything. A nice walk to the main attractions and a short walk to the train station.
Take the water shuttle from the airport which is cheap and easily located. It will drop you off close to this hotel. Also near the train station if you travel that way. Hotel is older but well kept up with some of the rooms redecorated in a basic but comfy style.Really close to everything you need when visiting Venice...although you'll for sure get lost...part of the fun. Breakfast is good with a great selection. The water levels rose on one of our nights...happens quite often, apparently and we couldn't use the restaurant for breakfast. It was brought to us in our rooms. The electrical system could do with a bit of an update as one of our hair dryers blew the fuses on the whole floor. Lots of good restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat at the hotel. Overall, comfortable, clean and not too expensive.
This is a lovely, small hotel right on the canal and very near the train station. We landed at the airport, got in a water taxi and were dropped off right at the door! Welcome to Venice! Old world charm and kind, helpful staff. Rooms are well appointed and a good size for Europe. Shops and restaurants close by but St Marks is a 20 minute walk. Having breakfast on their canal-side patio will always be a highlight of our two week trip. But, the hotel is undergoing renovations and getting to some rooms is challenging. I'm not sure how they'll resolve that (for safety reasons more than anything else - perhaps really good signage?) because this is otherwise a real gem. We'd return for sure.
This is a very difficult hotel to review - there is much to recommend it - location on the canal, friendly staff (the head waiter at breakfast is especially superb and would bring me an excellent special cappuccino each morning!), redecorated rooms that are well appointed and have excellent air conditioning. However - it is being redecorated and this results in mess and noise - as well as a lack of signage and some questionable safety issues. The check in was chaotic - our room (reserved and paid in advance) was not available due to “technical reasons” and after much confusion our party finally ended up in two separate rooms, which in fact were ok (although not really what we had booked). The staff did their best to help, to be fair, but it was not the best start. Overall we did enjoy our stay, but this is not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.
This hotel was outstanding. People were friendly and knowledgeable, always wanting to go the extra mile, always wanting to please us in any way they could. In spite of being under construction-renovation we didn't hear any significant noise. The restaurant and breakfast were simply superb. We are no easy people, because my kids want everything tailored to their specific tastes and staff made the necessary adjustments. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality (we spent four days here and planned to have lunch and dinner at the hotel because it was really outstanding), all dishes were cooked to perfection. Staff was not only professional in getting things accomplished and accommodating, but also friendly and really made us feel at home. We definitely recommend the hotel and restaurant to everyone we know and this is not something we customarily do. We do this, because they were the best in our vacations so far. Thanks a lot for everything and we to be back soon!
we were so excited about this lovely hotel and spent extra for a room of the canal. however when we got to our room the windows were covered with construction plastic and materials and there was absolutely no view. since we had payed extra for a room with a view we spoke with the front desk who told us they would contact the reservation center about a refund of the difference but we have yet to hear back from them. this location is going to be amazing once they complete construction but they should not make you pay for a room with a view if that view does not exist. this was so disappointing for our trip. we would have booked another place or room if we had been given accurate information

The Company doing works assured us that they would complete this kind of work before the end of June: we are of course very disappointed for that as you are but that day we didn't have any other solution. As told by my staff we informed Agoda (the channel you used to book), about the situation and proceeded with a refund request to the Credit Card Company for the amout related to the "canal view supplement". On July 18th we received the debit charge in our bank account. Now you must received the refund directely from Agoda: they are informed in written of the situation. I suppose they need other few days, but finally you will receive the refund. Apart of this problem I hope you and your family enjoyed the stay with us. We spent a perfect night here ! The Chef is cooking amazing plates (even salad are tasty as hell although you might think that with “basic” aliments it wouldn't taste like this). Meet Franco, manager of the place, and have a drink with him, he'll tell you amazing stories about Venezia and make everything he can for you to spend the most beautiful night you can. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The boat pick up and drop off is at their front door which is amazingly convenient. They have lovely large rooms and ours even had a little outside balcony with a table and chairs. A must is to have a drink or dinner on the front veranda overlooking the canal. It is a wonderful place to relax and watch the huge variety of passing boats and water craft. The continental breakfast was really delicious with a huge selection. I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel was like a building site - very unsafe - no fire alarms connected - still had covers on. Building renovation weeks and weeks away from completion. No lift - still being installed. Light in room unable to be turned off even when access card was removed.
Chose this hotel because of convenience to the railway station, Santa Lucia. Only a short walk away. However, was not aware of how much construction was going on at this hotel. We had to walk past construction debris to get to our room, and the room was hidden among a maze of confusing corridors. The room had been mostly remodeled, but lacked amenities such as a chair to sit in. Scaffolding outside the windows. Could be a nice hotel, but for the price they are charging you can find better. Have to admit the breakfast was superb, but that's about the only superlative I can give to this hotel. Would not stay here again for what we paid. Overpriced.
We stayed here last year in May 2017 it was so lovely breakfast on the outside Balcony watching the daily lives of the locals up and down the Canal we have planned our 2019 Holiday and will be staying here at The Hotel Continental in Venice we are bringing Family and friends this time cant wait xxx
Hotel was still under renovation but sold itself as fully renovated . Lift, hot shower, air conditioning were not working. Counter staff didn't seem to care when we complained. Porters and breakfast staff tried their best though. Could have obtained better quality elsewhere for the money we paid
We were booked in with tour gp and told we were first gp since renovations. DISASTER!!! No lift operating, 64 steep winding steps to room. Couldn't turn lights off in room at night; shower leaked all over floor. Phone not operating so couldn't contact reception. Fire system not hooked up, wires hanging out of walls everywhere. Ladders left in corridors, workmen banging around all day.Some of gp had to be moved to other Hotels due to terrible state of unfinished rooms. Keep away from it- it was like Faulty Towers!!!! Kitchen still wrapped in plastic when we arrived.
We had booked this hotel for 3rd May and have just been notified that our booking is cancelled due to the hotel hot being able to accommodate us. Very disappointing as we loved everything about this hotel when booking it ??
We were given a room with a view directly onto the canal so were very happy with this. The hotel itself looked a little tired in places but this can be over looked as the price, the location more than make up for this.
The hotel itself is pretty basic, rooms are small, worn and weren't perfectly clean. We had a view over the canal which was nice. Front of house staff were locely, very friendly and helpful when booking tickets etc. But restaurant staff were the opposite. Breakfast first morning there was a queue of people waiting to be seated even though there were empty tables, waitress actually shouted at one couple when they decided to take a seat at the empty table near them. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, did have to ask for tea every morning as they only seemed happy to serve coffee. Also ask for juice to be refilled as they only put out small jugs which got used up fast. One evening was warm so we picked up some bottles of water to drink in our room. I went to bar for glasses with ice and waited for ages, no staff, went to front desk who rang and said bar staff were back, I returned to bar...no staff, waited another 10 minutes for someone finally to come help me. Simply asked for w pint glasses with ice for our room. Was given 2 whiskey tumblers so asked if I could have one of the larger glasses off the shelf, was told 'not possible!' I explained it was just for water in our room, and bar man simply pointed at glass he put on bar and said 'this' then walked off! I was in shock to be honest, just rude and unhelpful! Rest of stay went fine. Location is great, but everywhere is walking distance in Venice really.
Nothing to rate as we turned up and the hotel was under renovations. We had no idea so we asked a street vendor who pointed us to the hotel next door that were taking their bookings. Can say that the Hotel Princepessa was top notch and would highly recommend.
We stayed here in September for my mother in laws 70th Birthday, the location is fantastic. Originally we were going to stay closer to San Marco, but the Continental hotel came up a good price for a 4 star so we booked it. On visiting the San Marco area we found the restaurants and shops were much more expensive than the ones near Continental hotel so we were happy we didn't stay there. The vaporetto stops are very close, 7 euros one way to San marco or the Rialto bridge or any other stop on that route. There is a coach from the airport 14 Euro return which drops you about 10mins walk from the hotel. The breakfast at the hotel is lovely plenty of choice and very tasty. There is even chocolate cake and lemon drizzle cake at breakfast not the norm for me but to be fair cake any time of the day is good in my opinion. The room is ok not the best I've stayed in, very dated but clean, comfy bed and a good base. Odd shower but it was hot so that's all that matters. Staff friendly and helpful. Overall this hotel is a lovely base to explore from with a decent breakfast.
