April 1st 2020, Hotel Gio, BW Signature Collection opens the doors to a meeting place for the ones who wants to live, eat, socialize and work in a warm and undemanding environment. At Gios, you can stay for a short while, or for a longer visit, eat relly good food at Mama Gios, have a drink at the terrace or work in the living room. At Gios you will come home to a grand family. In the large living room there are possibilities to work or socialize with friends. That is why we call Gio "the social hub hotel". Here you will also find Mama Gio, a restaurant that focuses on straight forward hospitailty and simple, well cooked food that tastes really, really good. Gios rooms has an ambience of Italy in the 50's, both the standard double rooms and the slightly larger longstay rooms for those who wants to stay a little longer, or comes back time and again. There are also family rooms that comfortably houses the whole family when needed. Hotel Gio, BW Signature Collection is located right next to the park of Haga, where parts of the royal family resides, and within walking distance you will fiend Friends arena, Mall of Scandinavia and the Karolinska hospital. Right outside the hotel, the buses to Stockholm centre and Arlanda airport has a stop. The center of Stockholm is reached within 12 minutes, and Arlanda airport within 40 minutes. In the living room there is room to work or just to relax, or why not mingle with your colleagues? We can arrange mingle or events for up to 150 people, but we also have meeting rooms if you need a smaller space. After 60 years of office workers walking the stairs, through the doors and looking at the artwork, we now open the doors for the guests of Hotel Gio, BW Signature Collection.

The bed was great , breakfast was nice,20 to 30 Min walk from some shopping places, The staff were very friendly, and a ice machine just a few doors away from my room The room was carpet floor and windows would not open, and the air con made the air dry , so we went on plenty of walks . I know it's cold maybe at that time of year but fresh air is good .

Excellent breakfast that included continental and English breakfast options, wonderful rooms, great service, very close to public transport from the airport as well as to Stockholm city. Nice lounge with coffee and tea available. Really all that you could need as a tourist .

Very worst customer service. Obviously it's little near from stockholm central station but room is small. And customer service is very poor. We requested early check in . But they don't bother about that even for 1 hr. And they have shortage of cleaning staff to clean the room and handover.Worst experience ever.

Just returned from short break at the gio. Spotlessly clean and staff very helpful. It's just outside of Stockholm but really easily accessible by bus which stops outside hotel virtually. Also bus from arlanda Airport also drops you same stop . Would recommend getting the app on your phone for buses,trams and water boats ask at reception they can help ,it pays for itself very quickly. Avoid taxis as they are exorbitant, same journey from centre to hotel £56 . Get the flygbuss to and from airport about £12-15 Depending on time of day. Room itself is small but comfortable have everything you need . They do have a menu but it is very limited for lunch and dinner. We ate there once apart from breakfast and it was adequate but that's all. There are a couple of small places to eat just up road an Indian a Chinese and a Persian. Breakfast was more than adequate with some hot options and usual cereals meats cheeses and breads. Eggs bacon bits sausage beans and scrambled eggs all fine . You would pay a lot more for less in the city so overall quite happy to recommend.

On the edge of Solna, en route between Arlanda airport and the city centre but on the Flyggbussana route and local bus 57 into town which goes right through Gamla Stan so everything is dead easy. Even the access footbridge across the motorway is right by Haga park one of the great places to visit in Stockholm. Gio is a smart, skandi chic hotel with William Morris vibes. Seems to be used more for business stays than tourists but nothing wrong with that!. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Breakfasts have a very extensive choice. A buffet lunch is available and there is a dinner option but the basic Italian style menus is not varied daily. Food is excellent though. We had one lunch and one evening meal. The only down side for us was that there was no coffee/ tea making facilities in the room but complementary teas and coffees are available in the "Living Room" on the ground floor. Sad to say the coffee seemed to be permanently tepid. All in all a good comfortable hotel. Would recommend

Excellent position close to Karolinska, literally 1 bus stop away. Also very well connected with the city center (the hotel area in itself is not interesting). Wi-fi works properly. Rooms are not big but full of light, cozy and clean. Breakfast buffet is very good and varied.

Nice hotel in the sort of suburb of Stockholm (at least formally so) but in fact just at the outskirts of the city. So if you looking for stay in Stockholm do not look too much into that it located not in Stockholm but in Solna. Good connection to city center and main interest points by bus ( 57 and 515 ) - stop is literally behind the corner - but if you like walking a bit you can easily get to the city by foot, it will be around 40-60 min walk or faster depending how fast you walking. Big park just over the bridge with lake and plenty places to walk, run or cycle, also big cemetery with Alfred Nobel's grave just outside if you like walks in such placed. Good breakfast, maybe not much variance but still good. Substantial common space where you can just chill and talk with people, play board games or do anything else, also tea and coffee free of charge, but do not expect too much - just scandinavian coffee from big boiler :), same goes for breakfast by the way. Decent pizzas in hotel restaurant, coffee as well - if you order it outside breakfast hours. Main drawbacks which I can mention are that breakfast can be a little bit crowded, as hotel has a lot of rooms and place where they serve breakfast buffet a bit smallish, so you need to select time slot each day but even this doesn't help/ The second one is that elevators are rather dated and use non automated external doors, which you need to open manually even internal door was "normal" automated elevator sliding door, sometimes lock was acting, and couple of times I either was not able to exit on floor I needed and had to go down to exit, or cannot enter because even elevator arrived and free, outside door wouldn't unlock. Also family room we got was on the smaller side, kids had their own bunk bead space/bedroom which was good, but that was at cost of space in main room - if all four of us decided to be there it felt crowded, going by other rooms I could see they were bit bigger/

Have stayed at Gio on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. A really convenient location for the short trip into the centre of Stockholm, with the trees of the Royal park on one side and to the front looking toward the city. The higher-up rooms can have magnificent views over the city. Staff are really friendly, polite and helpful. Rooms are immaculately clean. Breakfasts are amazing! Huge variety and comfortable surroundings while eating, in the bar or lounge areas. An easy choice of hotel when in Stockholm :)

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Giò and it was a great experience. The hotel is situated close to Hagaparken and offers a serene environment. The rooms are simple and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable, just a bit too soft though. One aspect that stood out was the breakfast, offering a wide variety of options to suit every plate. Throughout our stay we were greeted with warm smiles. The staff members were friendly and professional. I would recommend Hotel Giò to anyone seeking a comfortable stay in this beautiful city.

This is were I feel calm and home on my trips to Solna, Stockholm. A great atmosphere and comfy rooms. The staff is friendly and alert. I feel like home in the living room where I can have a cup of tea with friends and colleagues in the afternoon.

At the breakfast buffet I got pancakes and asked for the syrup bottle which was missing and the buffet staff totally blewed me off as I asked for it and they just said we will look for it and o feel they just went on their business and did not pay attention.. I did ask theee staff member in between the 20 minutes I waited for the syrup. Finally one of them came back after I asked again and said there was no syrup.. The hotel should not offer pancakes if they don't have syrup.. What made me upset was the time frame between initially asking and the time they came back and said they did not offer it that particular day.. After 20 mins I ended up not having breakfast as I was on a time crunch. To me it was a rude way the way they handled it. They should not offer something if it is incomplete.

we booked this hotel with my family for the Christmas period, all areas of the hotel are beautiful, our room warm and comfortable, the only drawback is the small closet. the bathroom is comfortable. in the breakfast restaurant you can try very good quality products. congratulations to the chef and his team for the delicious delicacies they prepared for us every day!! all the staff are very kind and willing to serve you. it is a hotel that you should definitely visit.

3.5 stars, really, but rounding down. This is specifically for the cheapest Standard/Queen room category. Unless you're a solo traveler (and maybe even then), book any other room type and I suspect you'll be much happier. Pros: Location - great connection to airport (flygbus) and Odenplan/downtown Breakfast - excellent buffet, including some very nice typical pannkakor med sylt och grädde Staff - nice and helpful Rooms - clean, decent noise isolation Neutral: Rooms - small, but functional Cons: Bed - their Queen-size bed is one of the worst hotel beds I've ever had the misfortune to sleep on. It was bad enough that we requested to change rooms (first time for such a request in >10 years); bed was marginally better but still bad. Mattresses/box springs are extremely soft and provide no support whatsoever; also very sensitive to any movement, so two people will end up constantly waking each other up when turning over in their sleep. I strongly suspect that this is much less of an issue in all the other room types, where beds consist of two smaller, separate boxsprings side-by-side. Bathroom - the shower partitions are so short that they don't really do much to prevent half the room from getting wet. In our second room, there was a light switch placed precariously close to the shower head

Excellent ambience, quiet room and surrounded by green (on two sides). Easy commute to the airport, train station further afield. The room was rather large and comfortable, yet the social areas of the hotel invited to spend little time in it.

The rooms are very comfortable, I had a superior room which is much like a junior suite. I found it extremely comfortable and convenient. The location is outstanding. You have a small village atmosphere with some restaurants within walking distance aside for the hotel. There is also a phenomenal park right over a bridge from the hotel. the park is spacious and fun to explore with numerous walking paths and open fields. Just watch out for the bicyclists. Uber from the airport is 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Not much to downtown. I did not call the uber for that trip but it did not take very long to drive into the center of the city. Staff is extremely polite and helpful. I was there for 3 nights and did not have any bad experiences

It takes a while to arrive at the hotel from the city centre, but the overall value was amazing. The room was very clean and stylish. Breakfast buffet was the best I've ever had. I would definitely come back.

The bed was a bit to soft for me, but it's open to personal flavor. I would stay at this hotel again 100%. Clean hotel, with a nice mixture of classic and modern design. Great breakfast and service-minded personnel. A haul with Uber to the central parts of Sthlm approx. 150sek.

I came to Stockholm from the UK for the Melodifestivalen final, so wanted a hotel close to the Friends Arena but also close to the city centre. Gio was in the perfect location - there is a bus stop right outside with frequent buses into central Stockholm. The lounge area has beautiful furniture and decor and is spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of options, and the food was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly, kind and professional. My room was lovely with a nice minibar selection. I was so pleased with this hotel that I did not want to leave it. Thank you Hotel Gio for being one of the reasons my trip to Stockholm was so perfect. I hope to see you again soon! Tusen tack!

I was travelling to Sweden for medical purposes and made a quick decision upon arrival after a long and taxing journey to stay at this Hotel for a few days while arrangements with hospitals were being made. While the rate was significantly higher then similar or better quality hotels and they also refused long term deals i kept extending for a few days because it appeared as i would maybe be admitted in a hospital soon. I did really not want to be going through too much hassle with the rather uncomfortable injury that i have. I ended up staying in their Hotel for a month, ate at the restaurant for significant amounts of money everyday. I neither drink or do drugs nor do i engage in any strange or unclean, loud or disturbing activities and i would best be described as a intelligent person who is a pleasant conversation but otherwise likes to keep to himself, so my stay was quite uneventful. The hotel itself is just your standard hotel, food is not bad but also not state of the art, it's clean, it has the standard nordic quality of decorations and such things, restaurants employees are decent human beings and it has a capitalistically nice front desk, but so do all the other hotels, etc. However, during my last day i became suddenly alot more injured. I notified my friend who called an ambulance who showed up and helped me. My situation was not IMMEDIATELY lifethreatening but required medical attention from a specialist ASAP, so we had to make the arrangements ourselves instead of a ER. This was in the afternoon, and my friend showed up at the same time. Due to my now more urgent situation and my need to get medical help right away, my friends and family immediately started working on making arrangements since i was somewhat very injured and sick, unable to get out of bed. However, the frontdesk called me at 11.30 before my 12.00 sceduled checkout the morning after. (I had been extending routinely and paying my minibar and restaurant bills every three days) They informed me that they would not be allowing me to extend my stay due to "worries about not being able to guarantee my safety" My friend went downstairs to speak to them to tell them that since my spine injury had escalated and i was not capable of moving or operating normally and we had to call my family and hospitals and make arrangements (find the right hospital, possibly arrange a air ambulance back to my country, get the right referral from my home countries doctors to the doctor here and arrange all the injured persons transportations etc) it would not be realistic to leave in 30 minutes. They told us very threatingly that "we had to 5 o'clock" As everyone knows things like these can take a few hours so while sweating his ass off my friend was barely able to arrange a transportation to a hospital which arrived few minutes after 5. The Front desk clerks and Executive producer where outside our door at 5 sharp with their arms crossed standing there ready to evict us. I asked them what the issue was and they said "You know why we are here." Like we had commited a crime against them by having a medical emergency while staying there. I asked them if i had done anything to them that warranted this type of behaviour which they replied "No" Too. I was getting mildly upset at them so my friend tried to buy us a few minutes to wait for the transport for injured persons. I was then strapped to a board by medical transfer crew and driven out meanwhile these people were asking my friend "do you have his card" to try to get payment in a middle of ambulance operation for some outstanding colas from the minibar and chocolates and two last nights of my 40 nights at full price or whatever. I am half indian and half icelandic. Nordic. Born in Denmark, my grandma is swedish. Half of the time i stay in the most priviledged of societies in the world. The other half i stay in the middle of the poorest children in the world. I have enough to not worry about money again and everything i have extra i give to them. Because i believe humanity is more important than having money. I also don't care about money, it is not important to me. While we view each other only in the light of if they benefit us financially or from a business perspective we become evil, lose our humanity and perspective and our decisions start to cause suffering to other humans and in the end, ourselves. Suffering creates violence inside of people and a sense of only ensuring ones own survival which contradictorally creates a world where everyone competes ruthlessly against each other for resources and leaves no room for the collective thinking needed to tackle the threats that now are becoming certain to kill us and our children, (global warming and overpopulation, growing tension between the rich elites and those below them etc) and noone survives. I for a instance work very hard on helping earth and the people here to intellectually grasp and understand how to change our societies to tackle the challenges ahead so we can both survive these threats and bring more prosperity. Now you cannot both run a hotel and do that. So if you happen to choose to make decisions that hurt me or could in theory kill me because you believe your duty on earth is only to your hotel you don't have anyone doing my job and will end up with no hotel or life yourself. In short, only thinking about your own interests will get yourself killed. This is the heart of human dencency. We realize that we should and need to treat others as equally important as ourselves because they are. It saddens me deeply to see people at this otherwise fine Hotel, Katarina at the front desk and her associates, lose their perspective so much that they believe human decency is only for those who you can benefit off. To be willing to compromise other people's wellbeing for your own perceived business interests. I have no idea who demanded this hotel guaranteed my safety from my own body, nor do i believe they are required to or responsible for any adverse health issues or events, nor did we have any plans of changing it to a emergency ward. We were leaving anyway ASAP in a max day or two because of the situation, and i don't believe they have done anything but profitted greatly of me, nor was any threat to their business involved. I have no idea if they are so concerned about my safety why they would use such violent conduct towards their guests who are having difficult health situations without any concern of their "safety." They directly went out of the way to make sure that their conduct was as uncomfortable and difficult as possible in a somewhat lifechanging emergency, when i was the most vunerable. It is hard to see how they benefitted from that, or what they would have lost by simply allowing me what small timeframe was needed for logistics to ensure save continuation of my journey in a dignified manner. I don't think such things makes anyone bad people, it appears to me like overpriviledged children who have never come to understand the importance of one's action, morality and the context of it in human societies to the rest of life that happens around them. It's what happens when we have no perspective beyond our strawlike vision on our own survival and by fixating upon it we cannot see that what appears beneficial to us is actually detrimentical to everyone. I don't hold no grudges because i believe they and we all are a product of the environment and have unconciously picked up what is prevailant in societies without questioning it, but since their attitude is likely to cause harm or suffering to whomever happens to have a difficult event in their hotel, i sincerely suggest that you turn your business elsewhere if your safety, human decency and ethical business practices are important to you. . You can have the most professional hotel and fantastic everything (this one is just standard) but if you don't treat people kindly and you are not safe there if something adverse happens, it's worthless to everyone else. Therefore this gets one star

Gio hotel is the absolutely best. Everything is fantastic, from the rooms, to the breakfast buffet and not to mention the staff. Nice, smiling, helpful, service minded and the hospitality is superb. Public transportation is easy to take and easy to buy tickets with the Travis app.

Lovely lounge, with coffee facilities available all day. Clean everywhere. Got room with nice view and some goodies for my birthday. Good breakfast selection. Short walking distance to Hagaparken. There's a restaurant in the hotel. Good value for money. In terms of what I was not very fond of and it is a personal preference. I find the bed too soft for my taste. I do acknowledge it may be what most people like. So it is not a major issue.

Great hotel, wonderful and friendly staff. Excellent food. World class for this type of hotel. It is a genuine design hotel. The architecture is inspired by the Gió Ponti Pirelli building in Milan. The interior architecture is Italia art deco and 50s-60s.

You don't know what to expect when entering the very modest front doors , but once inside a beautiful lobby and bar opens up. Being swiftly served by the outstanding staff, we got a pleasant double room with comfortable beds and great amenities. Especially the beautiful bespoke GIO toiletries with a very nice Italian fragrance . We also had a genuine Italian dinner at the restaurant and we had the best linguini vongole we've had outside of Italy. Returning to the United States early the next morning, the hotel is perfectly situated close to the highway and about 20 minutes away from the international terminal 5 at the Arlanda Airport.

Do not book this hotel during the current pandemic. Our flights were cancelled due to COVID-19 and they refused to refund our stay. We booked a stay at this hotel on February 16th 2020, for a stay between June 5th 2020 and June 7th 2020 through Hotels.com. However, on March 19th 2020 the Swedish government imposed a temporary ban on visitors from outside of the country due to COVID-19. This was initially applied for 30 days but was extended until August 31st 2020. To make matters worse, our outbound flight from the UK to Stockholm was cancelled before we were due to travel, and our inbound flight from Stockholm to the UK was cancelled too. All of this meant that we were unable to make it to the hotel. We explained this situation to Hotels.com. But we were unable to get a refund because the hotel refused to allow it. All the hotel offered was a voucher which had to be used within 12 months, even though there was no guarantee that we would be able to travel by June 2021. We had 6 days to either accept the voucher or lose our money. We tried contacting hotels.com and our bank but neither could help because the hotel chose not to refund its customers. There were no direct contact details for the hotel on their website either. In the end, we lost our money. We will never get it back. Do not book this hotel during the pandemic. They are not understanding and they do not care about customer service. Save yourself the stress and consider booking with a different chain hotel.

I was in hotel as long stay guest due to a business. Everything is great. Service are excellent, rooms beautiful and comfortable. I felt like at home. Hotel is on the good position, near buss and train and big park is just across the hotel.
