SureStay by Best Western Santa Monica

Horrible experience. At morning 9 AM , cleaning crew came with a big generator and the noise was intolerable that went on for an hour. It felt staying in a power station. We stayed with our kids and they couldn't sleep in or us couldn't stay in peace . If it was a regular cleaning it wouldn't have bothered us , but the big generator's noise was really high at an industry level . I wouldn't go back to any of the best Western let alone this location. The supervisor had the audacity to say he can't stop the generator even after we complained about the noise .very poor experience. If anyone wants a peaceful stay or traveling with kids it's not the place to consider for sure!

The room was beautiful with an amazing spa tub, which after a week to ten days of hiking was absolutely a blessing and appreciated. The room was clean and bright. The courtyard was charming, it is a shame we did not have more time to enjoy it. The location was perfect, and we were able to walk to a wonderful Mexican restaurant for dinner. The proximity to the beach was perfect and we were able to get there fairly reasonable which is a feat in and of itself in California traffic. We absolutely had a wonderful experience and stay at this charming little hotel.

5 minutes from hospital, but very expensive! Very accommodating staff and knowledgeable. Mattresses in room were comfortable and clean. Vending machines on second floor only and they were empty of product. Indoor weight room and computer center.

We just got back from a 2 night stay at the SureStay Best Western in Santa Monica and cannot say enough about how wonderful it was! Every one of the staff members we came across was fantastic. The cleaning staff were friendly, the front desk staff were always helpful, and the grounds were kept very nice. We especially liked the courtyard in building 3. Daniela at the front counter was wonderful! She was friendly and helpful, clearly explaining everything about our stay. She listened to our concerns and answered our questions. On top of all this, continental breakfast and parking were free! We agreed that when we are in Santa Monica again, we will definitely stay here.

Given how pricey the LA area can be, SureStay was inexpensive, clean, in a great area (close to Santa Monica Pier, I10, etc), had free parking, free internet, etc. There was an abundance of towels, and the room was clean. The free breakfast was basic, but enough to get you up and going.

Somewhat disappointing and not up to the regular standard. Heating/cooling problems, crowded parking lot, no elevator, and staff not familiar with check-in computer. Best Western is my "go to" when I am on the road. This facility was updated and it is pretty. But I know they can do better!

Great little hotel nestled into the neighborhood. We live in the area, and this was for a guest. I was surprised at this economical alternative to the spendy places closer to downtown Santa Monica. Clean rooms and the breakfast was a plus.

A friend and I stayed at the SureStay by Best Western Santa Monica for two nights in December as we were attending a concert at McCabe's Guitar Shop, which is right across the street. The location was perfect, as we didn't have to worry about transportation to or from the show. We visited a few other locations during our stay and everything was just a short Uber ride away. The neighborhood is quite walkable and there are some nice restaurants nearby. Our room was in the building closest to the highway, with the courtyard, which is beautiful (see photo). While we unfortunately didn't have time to enjoy the courtyard, it looks like it would be a wonderful place to relax. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast was quite nice. Nothing fancy, but plenty of selection, well organized and clean. Just perfect for our tastes/needs. Finally, I can't say enough about how friendly the staff members were. We had very pleasant chats with staff at the front desk and in the breakfast area and everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Stayed at this location during a road trip through California and Oregon. Friendly staff, good continental breakfast choices and nice rooms. Felt safe as had to have key to enter room areas. We joked that the outdoor space of the 3rd building looked like a set from Melrose Place. Quiet area and close to different activities within Santa Monica. Would recommend for any LA visit.

I love visiting Santa Monica. I've been there five times since 2011 and always stay at the SureStay on Pico Boulevard. The hotel is conveniently located near all the popular "hot spots" in town...about three miles away from the Pier and Third Street Promenade. The entire staff is very professional and accommodating. They offer free breakfast daily from 7-10pm with a good selection of food and beverages. The room rates are very fair and parking is free. Additionally, if you have an electric car, they even have charging stations that you can use at no cost.

Stayed for 4 nights as part of a pacific highway trip. Absolutely great choice. Choose a courtyard room if you can, we didn't but no worries. Free continental breakfast even a small laundry area which was useful. Staff all really helpful and cheerful. Would highly recommend.

No HOT WATER PRESSURE WAS LOW BUGS IN THE ROOM. AC UNIT NE ER COOLED THE ROOM. Loud noise from traffic at night. Lots of homeless people around trying to access premises. Very unsafe if you're traveling with kids.

Very nice and safe place to stay if you want to be near the beach and just about any place else. We were staying for a wedding and mini family reunion and took advantage of the courtyard and grill accessible to us. It truly helps that we also had Trader Joe's right next door so the convince to everything was great. Glad there was free parking but it is a narrow fit so make sure you rent a small vehicle.

Clean and well appointed with refrigerator, coffee machine, WI-FI and TV. Be sure to ask for a room near the courtyard so you can enjoy the weather in Santa Monica while sitting outside enjoying your cocktails or reading a book. The 2 grills were available for a barbecue and access to Trader Joes, right next store was fabulous.

We were only here for 1 night and were very pleased with the room and property. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the area was quiet, making for a good nights sleep. We did not stay for the continental breakfast, but did do some food shopping at Trader Joes, just a block away.

When we first arrived at the hotel it was 2:00. We were down by the Pier all day and were tired. Check in is at 3:00, so we figured we would see if our room was ready early. Something we do all the time. Sometimes you get lucky. We knew there was a chance it wouldn't be and we were ok with that. When I went up to the front desk, the woman there had such an attitude. She told us check in was at 3 and I said I understood. She went to the computer and said to come back at 3. She never looked up at us and was so annoyed that were even trying to check in a bit earlier. The room the gave us was ridiculously small. We couldn't even walk around it. No table or chairs. A very small night table on one side and a small desk on the other. There was no room to put our luggage. The sink is in the room and had no counter space. We were happy we were here only one night.

Nice place to stay. It was about 25 minutes to the beach and Highway 1; 5 minutes to the I10 freeway; 20 minutes to the La Brea Tar pits, and the LA country Art Museum. The Santa Monica pier was close by too.

There are 3 separate buildings. Had to go to a different bldg for breakfast, get ice & to do laundry. Very inconvenient. Room had a weird smell. The carpet was filthy!! Carpet full of stains & turned socks & feet black. Internet very slow & kept on getting kicked off. Breakfast area very small & crowded. Mostly just all carbs. We were in bldg 2 and very difficult to back out of parking spot. Very small area to try and get out. Many homeless people in the area. I would not stay here again.

The benefits of staying here were free parking, a pretty courtyard and a generous continental breakfast, our room was horrible. It was a disability room, very large but overlooked by passers by at street level, so we had to keep the blinds closed for privacy.

Great place to stay and close to places to eat and things to do. It can be a little noisy with the street traffic so bring a white noise machine if you are a light sleeper. Trader Joe's within walking distance. Kitchenette are spacious and provide a microwave, sink, mini frig and small table with 2 chairs.

Overall it's a good hotel. Felt safe staying there and walking from the rail station back at night. Took stars as employees loud during posted quiet hours, had to ask for wifi password & heater never turned off

Although the room itself was small, everything worked well, was very clean, and was relatively quiet. The only complaint was the bathroom light. It went on automatically, with a super-bright light that couldn't be dimmed. The bed was comfortable, but it was a king and lacked larger pillows. Otherwise, the parking lot always had a space, and the staff was extremely, extremely friendly! The breakfast was good enough, and served our needs. We'd stay again!

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's in a decent location (need a car though). The area felt safe. The room was updated. There was plenty of free parking and the continental breakfast was decent - it was fully stocked with everything you need to start the day

Sure stay is your go-to place if you are looking for a hotel which is clean, safe, and efficient in the Santa Monica area. There are no bells and whistles here, but it served my purposes just fine for 1 night before traveling to another area. There are several restaurants within walking distance. Plus, the free breakfast and free parking are super helpful.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved this hotel. The front desk staff was crazy nice and super helpful. I needed a room with a fridge and they immediately without question accommodated this request. The continental breakfast was more than I could have asked for as well. You will not regret staying here. They have the best pillows….

Dog-friendly hotels are diminishing in number, and I appreciate not only a place to stay but a NICE one. Everything I needed was provided: clean room, good linens and comfortable bed, quiet environment for sleeping. A bonus: a sweet residential area to walk my dog just around the corner. But please--only bring well behaved dogs so we don't lose another hotel at which to stay!

Lovely little beach-y hotel in a great neighborhood with really friendly staff. We ate down the street at The West End and were only minutes to the beach by car. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

Worst experience. I booked the hotel through expedia and the hotel manager would not let my wife check in before me (my flight was delayed for 6 hours until 3 am) even though I called 3 different times. Kept saying how her name was not in the reservation and had to get expedia to modify it (we tried - they couldn't since it was the day of reservation). She was forced to get a separate room and he also refused to merge our reservations to avoid paying for the extra room. While the front desk staff was very nice, he was extremely disrespectful, confrontational, and almost discriminatory towards us the next morning as well. When I asked to see the policy about this, he refused to show it to me and just told me to take his word for it. It was the most unpleasant experience and I'll never stay at a SureStay again

this hotel is tiny but cute, clean, and is in a good location! some wear and tear with the rooms and amenities but not awful. with food options and a trader joe's close by, i was happy. the free breakfast is nice and the parking included your stay was wonderful/hard to come by (was actually a deciding factor for me). there were some loud guests/children playing in the halls before sunrise which was frustrating, but that isn't really within the hotel's control. aside from that, it was a nice and quieter stay!

Staff were very friendly. They helped us carry our suitcases. After pandemic, first time, housekeepers actually cleaned room & gave us fresh towels. Other hotels, we had to ask. Place was clean. We could not sleep first night because of car noise coming from outside. Overall, pleasant stay. We recommend the place.

Since our room was near the main street it was really noisy. I have noticed some hazardous things such as the metal chairs in breakfast room. In fact I cut my finger while I was pulling the chair. There is always a "wet floor" sign around. The last but not least thing was the stairs. If you are having a heavy luggage there is no way for you to lift it up through the stairs. It would have been nice to have a ramp or something in that nature

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. After a long journey and arriving very early, the team worked hard to get a room ready for us to rest within an hour of our arrival. The room was a good size for two people and very clean. As you really need a car when visiting LA, the free parking was a blessing! Even though it's a motel style lay out, the rooms and courtyard were located behind a locked gate so only guests had access and we felt safe at all times. We were close enough to walk to get coffee and to a couple of good diners/restaurants. All over a great stay and will definitely stay again.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The rooms are really good, nice & clean. We stated in the the part with a gate which felt very safe. Staff great and very heloful. Suoer that you slso can get a good breakfast included.

You never know what you're going to get with a place you've never before stayed at. This place was outstanding. Friendly and quick check-in. Free parking, free breakfast ( which was bagels, fruit, toast, oatmeal, juices... the pancake machine was broken). Super comfortable beds (pillows are super thick, though. I use a more flat one so I just folded up a blanket). Free wifi, lots of hot water, and daily housekeeping. Pico (the road the hotel is on) can be loud. I wear earplugs at night and never noticed. My son doesn't and said the cars passing by wasn't bad at all. Amazing location right down the road from the pier and beaches, plenty of parking, a Trader Joe's, restaurants, and major roads 10 and 405.

If you're looking for a place in Santa Monica this until we meet that need. Easy to check in and I was greeted pleasantly and respectfully. The staff is very helpful. The hotel is clean and very quiet considering it was on a busy street.

We had full on days planned doing all the typical tourist stuff in L.A and based ourselves here to crash, perfect area to base ourselves- spent lots of time at Santa Monica Beach, Venice Beach up a bit to Malibu, all the normal Hollywood stuff, just a really good location to pick. Breakfast was awesome, loved the hotcakes machine! Bed was not soft which is great! We like a firmer bed. Place was clean, dark at night for a good sleep. Parking was easy. Snacks and socks in room on arrival. Overall impressed and better than expected. Thanks team!

Great place to stay. Free bfast and parking. Walking distance to shops and food. Quiet neighborhood. On Big Blue Bus line that can take you to the beach or Third street promenade for $1.25. Staff was wonderful.

The Location is good near Santa Monica Pier and LAX airport. Parking and breakfast included. Average breakfast. Clean hotel and comfy beds, well kept hotel. Priced a little high with few amenities. Would recommend.

The hotel is comfortable and modern. Parking and breakfast is included. Staff are friendly and helpful. Air conditioning is very good. The beach and pier are not within walking distance of the hotel, but they are about a 10 to 15 minute drive away. The noise of other guests arriving and departing can be slightly intrusive at busy times and the car park can be tricky to enter and exit.

The best rooms are the bigger rooms in the third and fourth buildings. We were unfortunately put in the first building which is where you check in and breakfast is served. These rooms are carpeted, they have no fridge and no lift. Some of the better rooms do have fridges. We were on the top floor so no noise from below as the breakfast room is right under us but it's noisy when people come and go with doors slamming and the car park is right under the window. Fine when cars leave but not so much if there are bikes there. The main road is quite noisy in the morning but not much you can do about that. They also don't have enough parking spaces for the amount of rooms so get parked early. Breakfast says continental but there is no hot food served. They have cereal, yoghurt, toast, bagels, and a pancake machine but not a cooked breakfast. They don't have the space to serve it really. Overall the room was ok, one of the smaller ones we have stayed in but clean. Staff are lovely.

It's always a pleasant surprise when a property meets or exceeds the expectations I have based on reviews from other TA members. That is clearly the case with this very nice property where I recently stayed for a short weekend visit. Efficient, friendly staff at check-in gave me all the details I needed for finding my room, breakfast, on-site parking (free!), etc. Property is a motel set-up with 4 buildings each having a secure access inner courtyard onto which the room doors open. My room was a nice size, looked recently renovated, was spotlessly clean and had a small kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave and sink. Bathroom also felt new and though a bit on the spartan side was also spotless. Well appointed room with good storage and a small desk. Checked all my boxes for a good facility: very comfortable bed, good hot water and easy to operate shower, good (albeit a bit loud) air conditioning and a strong Wifi signal. Would happily stay here again particularly given the price point relative to other hotels in the area. Highly recommend.

It's ok but not much better than that. Nice neighborhood, very friendly staff but rooms are small and you can hear the people on the floor above you. If on a strict budget, I'd stay there again but for no other reason.

Room clearly had been remodeled, and designed for wheelchair access. We did not need that feature. Good quality mattress. Small refrigerator with tiny freezer. Nothing fancy in the decor, but very functional.

Nice clean and quiet despite being on busy Pico Blvd. I did have a room away from Pico so I'm sure that helped. Super clean, great shower and comfortable bed with fluffy bedding. Room came with a cute kitchen area. Convenient to Big Blue Bus stops which are fabulous for getting around Santa Monica and surrounding areas. I plan on staying here again!

Convenient to Santa Monica/Venice. Noisy from the traffic on Pico and the gate. Request a room at the back of the property to help with that. Parking free but get back early to get a spot in the lot otherwise you may have to find a spot on the street.

The room was small but everything looked new and clean and most important of all, it had a good working AC. The staff was nice and everything was close by. They were always prompt to offer help and anything you might need.

There is a diner down the street call Rae's that is worth trying it has been there for about 50 years. Just clean good food and a reasonable price. I have to say this is not right on the beach, but it is one of my favorite places to stay in Santa Monica.

We stayed at the Sure Stay for 5 nights in August and I must say that I am completely satisfied. Hotel very clean, silent, care for every details, nice garden/yard outside, room wide, breakfast perfect for us (we don't eat salty in the morning) and personnel extremely kind. Very good location to reach all LA area and close (but not so close) to the Santa Monica Pier. If I go back to Santa Monica I'll definitely chose again Sure Stay. Well done!

Nice safe location in Santa Monica. Our first room at the beginning of our trip, we got upgraded and it was nice as it was a little larger and on the 4th floor int he 3rd building. At the end of our trip, we stayed at the same place but we had a room on the ground floor (109), no upgrade and it was dark with the windows placed closer to the ceiling and felt claustrophobic. There wasn't much lightning. The wash sink is also outside of the bathroom. The best thing is that there is a Trader's Joe 1 block away. So the upgraded room would earn 5 stars but the regular room would earn 3 stars so overall I give this a 4 star.

This place was fine for us, it served our needs, had friendly staff and decent rooms, gave away free and fun sunglasses, and is in a great location on Pico not far from the beach and pier. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either.

We enjoyed a short 3 night stay at the SureStay Hotel. A clean and conveniently located hotel. Our stay was tainted when a Huawei tablet went missing from our locked room on the last day. Only SureStay staff would have had access to the room. We enquired at reception who searched the room. The tablet was gone. Dissapointing to have personal items taken from a locked room. For this reason i rate the hotel poor as overall rating.

We stayed here twice during a family reunion. Very clean with comfortable beds. Blackout curtains were excellent. Free parking with some EV charging spots. Friendly staff. 4 different wings along Pico Blvd. Liked the court yard between 3 and 4. Was nice to be able to hang out outdoors among the plants. Being near the ocean moderated the temperature and was more comfortable than farther inland. Room layouts vary a lot. Which we enjoy vs newer cookie cutter properies. Recently renovated. Was easy to get in and out of back of building 1 to parking lot. Included breakfast was typical. Kids liked the pancake machine. Neighborhood was quieter at night than we expected. Lots to stores nearby. LAX close, but could not hear planes.

SureStay Hotel consistently provides excellent service. The rooms are clean, fresh smelling, and inviting. Our favorite rooms are in the courtyard area; however, the regular rooms, although smaller, as just as nice. Close to the beach, UCLA medical options, and LAX. Many options for dining within walking distance or a short drive. Trader Joe's next door is an excellent option, too.

Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was immaculately clean. Cont. Breakfast had plenty of selection, including hot pancakes, yogurt, muffins, bagels, juice and of course coffee or tea.

We did a fly drive and enjoyed staying at this hotel. Parking is free and includes a continental breakfast. The location was great, if you turn left out of the hotel there are some restaurants, takeaways and McDonald's. the room was very clean and presented well.

This is a great hotel, very clean throughout , comfortable beds, Continental breakfast included and cares about the environment ! A/C unit was a little loud but worked great ! Very friendly and helpful staff ! Thanks we will be back next year !

Room was small but adequate. Continental breakfast had very few options, not many fresh or healthy and very few beverage options. Room was clean and they are very helpful. I needed a place that could accommodate an early check in time and they did.

We stayed three nights in June 2022. We appreciated the free parking and continental breakfast. Good Covid precautions. Room was clean and quiet, bed comfortable. Location was perfect for us. We left an article of clothing behind by accident and the hotel contacted us and we were able to arrange for my son to pick it up for us. I appreciate their honesty and professionalism.

This pleasant motel is right across the street from McCabe's Guitar store, A wonderful place that presents concerts in its back room. Solves parking issues. Many great eating places nearby, and a Trader Joe's next door east if you want to get wine and snacks. I recommend wings 3 and 4, that have a nice courtyard between them, great for lounging.

Clean, minimal facilities. Most rooms are on parking lots. Small select in the COURTYARD which is not disclosed to other patrons. ANIMALS (dogs) are NOT welcomed and given only specific rooms with a $50 per day fee, minimum room charge $369 per night. This is a 2 STAR hotel.

We booked this hotel because we wanted to make sure we have a good experience in Los Angeles and Best Western met our expectations! The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean, we fell in love with the king size bed, and the other guests were quiet and friendly!

This is a great value in Santa Monica! It's clean and comfortable, convenient and not too far from things to do. But, mostly its available at a reasonable price. I've stayed at many other properties in LA, but this is a solid choice. Not luxurious, but comfortable.

This hotel was a pleasant stay- clean room, great beds, cute courtyard, walked to dinner, parking and breakfast included! Know going in that parking may be tight, it's not close to the beach, there are no elevators- we were ok with that and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. Everything worked in the room, the free parking was a huge benefit. Great staff, good continental breakfast. Location in Santa Monica was perfect. We slept well on a mattress that was excellent.

Nice, and clean hotel. Nice parking areas. Courtyard area for some rooms is a nice area to sit in. Kitchenettes are available. Just right for our needs. Close to the beach, to downtown and close to any shopping. Trader Joe's is right next door.

The hotel was close to where I was working and for the area it reasonably priced. The parking was tight but the room was very nice and large. The cleaning every day was nice to have like before Covid. The breakfast was a little short of my expectations with no scrambled eggs and breakfast meat.

I always stay here when in LA-- can't say enough about the kind, helpful staff and the extremely clean, lovely rooms. I highly and regularly recommend this property to others! Close to TJs, freeway access, and although the neighborhood can appear a bit marginal at times, the property feels secure and I love the location.

Quick efficient check-in, polite employees. The king bedroom upper floor courtyard corner room was large and tastefully minimally appointed. Nice to have small refrigerator. Chose hotel located less than 1 Mike from daughter's apartment, and for 2+ Mile walk to Mile 24 of 2022 LA Marathon to cheer on daughter and other runners.

The overall hotel, the room, and the surroundings are all clean, like new. All facilities (shower, fridge, TV, coffee maker) are functioning well. The room is very clean. It looks like the hotel has been renovated not too long ago. The front staff is very friendly. The only item that needs a bit of improvement is the included breakfast. It really does not have too many varieties....pretty simple and plain breakfast. All in all, for the off-season (mid-March) price that I paid, it's a value hotel.

My wife needed a procedure at UCLA medical center and I think I spent 4 hours looking for a place to stay. After looking at countless places I came across Sure Stay and i'm glad I did. I'll be brief, but I think you will like this place if you don't mind a little noise in an apartment building kind of setting. We stayed in the courtyard and had the room with the kitchenette. You are provided with some basic cooking utensils, plates, silverware, skillet, etc. The rooms are not large, but they have been renovated and everything worked great in the room. The stove, microwave, and refrigerator worked perfectly. There is also a laundry facility in the courtyard area, vending machine, a working ice machine, etc. There are basically three buildings and three parking lots. We never had trouble getting a parking space and it is free! We walked to the restaurants at night on and it was safe. Pico street is busy, but there are crosswalks and cars will stop for you. You are really close to a Trader Joes and other shops. Pico street has it all and the restaurants were good. The continental breakfast had more than I expected and the pancake machine was the coolest thing I've seen in a while. The employees are really nice and will help you with anything you need. They work hard to keep the place clean and it is evident they care about the guests. You will hear people walking to their rooms, but the noise wasn't bad. If you ever lived in an apartment complex this hotel is probably similar. Don't let the negative reviews scare you because I read them all also before booking. I live in Las Vegas and have stayed in many rooms. I liked the room despite it being a bit smaller than I'm used to. Why spend $400 a night and $46 daily parking when you can spend half that here? They will sign you up for the Best Western rewards card when you book and that will save you money. Thank you hotel staff for a great stay, I would book again at Sure stay. Look no further and book it now!

Good, affordable accommodations in Santa Monica. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Room options have everything you need. There is a good amount of parking available as well that is included. Will stay at again for sure!

Stayed Jan 31st - Feb 4th. Staff was helpful and responsive to handle two room changes based on my preference of room. NO issues with cleanliness, just preferred a different part of the building. Continental breakfast was a nice touch, and was adequate enough considering there were Covid concerns within the City at the time. Staff was friendly when interacted with at all times.

Santa Monica is not a cheap place to stay, but this hotel is a great costxbenefit! All clean and new, nice location if you have a car as it is far from the beach, but very close to the Freeway. Parking is included which is a great plus as Parking in this area is very difficult.

Our trip after many years went really well in this location, with great price and location with all amenities within the vicinity. Great staff and room daily service. Free Internet and well-kept and replenish continental breakfast .

Easy parking that is included is a plus ! Front desk was quick and courteous. Jacuzzi tub was great and breakfast needed some more options but not bad for free breakfast . I would recommend renting an electric bike if you have time.

I stayed at this hotel and was very satisfied. The location is great and the staff was friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. Parking is kind of weird but nothing to complain about. I would definitely stay here again

Our first time here. We liked this hotel very much! Nice check-in. Clean and well maintained room. Felt newly renovated. Only complaint and a big disappointment was the breakfast. Not good.!Very simple! No bread at all. Weird. Asked the breakfast lady about it and she sent me to the pancakes. Not the same. We bought our own breakfast during our stay. Face mask required all the time during the stay. Strange that the kids were allowed to play around the breakfast area and touch everything without masks though. Not consequent...

Well located at the eastern edge of Santa Monica, the beach is about 3 miles away. The hotel is in three separate two story buildings that take up an entire block. We stayed in "building three" that has a nice interior patio space with loungers and tables. Newish furnishings in the room, a very comfortable King bed, and a kitchenette, all for a good price, especially for the area. Free WiFi of course. Free breakfast was better than expected - with a hands free machine making fresh pancakes. Friendly, helpful staff. Literally the only downside to the place is that it's only a block or two from Interstate 10 so there is some constant low level traffic noise. Didn't bother me, I slept well.

Hotel itself is adorable, rooms are quant and very clean. The only issue is the walls are paper thin. You can clearly hear people in the hallway, and if you have a 1st floor room facing the parking lot you'll hear everything out there too. Stay away, far away from room 108 or any rooms close to the doors!!! Every time someone comes in and out the you hear it slam shut! So if you like to sleep in 108 is definitely not your room!!

It was nice , clean a quiet. The Breakfast was good. And my fur baby love it . I will be staying again. The room are big . The bathroom are big and Clean . 3 miles from the beach . I love it there . Thank you

Perfect stay! The hotel was remodeled in the last 2 years and is in excellent condition. The room was immaculate, and I could open the windows and enjoy a cool evening breeze. It reminded me of a beach hotel, and although I was traveling for business, I felt like I was on vacation. Easy walking area. Trader Joe's is a block away. Very much a part of the neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows and the staff was great. There is not an elevator but the bell man carried everything to my room. Traveling to LA for business nearly every week, this place was a true LA gem. I will be back! I've never rated a hotel this highly, but this was an amazing place at an amazing rate.

We live close by and had to stay in a hotel for 2 nights while they fumigated our home. The rates were reasonable and the room was very clean and well appointed. We stayed in the courtyard building, which I think was the best and stayed in the middle of complex. It was very quiet. However, If we would have stayed near the street (Pico Blvd), I think it would have been awful. The traffic is so loud. Our bed was very comfortable. The TV had all the stations (not the paid ones, but the free ones.) I would definitely recommend this hotel. The people at the front desk were very accommodating and helpful.

We only stayed one night, but we were very glad we stayed here. Our flight arrived early and we were able to check in. The woman who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful. The free parking was a plus- and it's not difficult if you are driving a normal sized vehicle. The hotel is in a great neighborhood- we really enjoyed walking around and there's even Trader Joe's nearby. Our room was spacious and a great value. Highly recommend

tried to check in early but room wasnt ready. the girl who had long black hair barely looked at us, i said hello?? as she rolled her eyes. MY QUESTION! why work where you hate people?? already we knew it was a bad place to be. parking is TERRIBLE (pull it up on a map. its nearly impossible to park) & the “free breakfast” was a joke. ive traveled a lot & had many stays.. no eggs? no bacon? no bread? literally just cereal lmao. & the worst flavors at that. i would never ever stay here again, all staff treated us like they hated their jobs & people! why work here then?? the first person of contact at that desk should be SMILING & WELCOMING you to the facility, that girl with long black hair should be taught basic human decency. & how she got a job idk!! but i will always remember her attitude & that horrible stay we had. if you're thinking about staying here for $257.. let me just say, DONT!! other BETTER options!! where people wont act like you being there is annoying to them. she was just a terrible person! really ruined the trip her attitude & the staffs attitude.

Its been a while since I have stayed at this location as I usually stayed at another place closer to Hollywood. This location has remained impeccable. Daniela was very nice at check in and appreciate the free souvenirs they offer.

This is a great little hotel. Super clean. Professional and attentive staff. Yummy free breakfast. Excellent location close to everything. Free parking. I could go on and on We are so glad that we chose this hotel. At first, I thought that the best reason to choose this hotel was that it was economical and in a good location and I regretted the fact that it wasn't closer to the beach or the pier. However, after being there I realized that not being so close to the pier or the beach was yet another great thing about the hotel. I am not sure that I would've preferred to have stayed at the beach hotels given the noise, traffic, partying, and craziness of the pier. I now realize that this was by far the better choice and the better place to stay. The only reason I did not give this hotel five dots was that the beds were not comfortable. I did not sleep well the first night because I was so uncomfortable. As our stay went on (we stayed in LA for a week), I think I got used to the bed and slept better. Other than the uomfortable bed it was a wonderful hotel.

My partner and I came to California to work. The large room with a kitchenette and a Trader Joe's grocery store across the street was great. The room was clean and everything was in good order. We also loved the garden courtyard which was nicely maintained. There was two sets of washer/dryers just downstairs. House keeping was excellent. All the staff was great. It made a challenging work trip so much easier. Bravo to SURESTAY !!!!!!!!!!

Comfortable and clean amenities and helpful staff. Good price for the room and amenities. The staff were always positive and helpful with any questions I had. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat for anyone else to try.

The stay was amazing not to far from the pier but far enough where you don't deal with the big crowds or music, restaurants around the area where great, very clean rooms, very friendly staff, over all had an amazing experience

Too much money for the room. I was told a price online and when i got there it was almost 100 dollars more then what i thought i reserved online. If i would of known the price change when i hot there then i would of never went

Stayed here frequently in 2019, but this was not the same experience. The TV didn't work upon arrival, a secure Wi-Fi connection was never available during our stay and the maid continually forget to leave coffee supplies. No attention to detail.

This hotel claims to be pet friendly, but it definitely is not. They don't have dog stations or even a dog area! They want you to leave their property to find a place for your dog to go potty and if they urinate on their flowers you will be fined. The sheets had stains on them and the toilet was completely lopsided! You couldn't go barefoot in the room because it turns your feet black because they clearly don't clean the floors. Not very impressed. I did like the go bags they had for breakfast.

This was a nice place, close to the things I wanted to do. The room was nice. The breakfast was good, considering covid restrictions. Everyone was friendly. The 2 things I didn't like was that there was no elevator, so hauling your bags upstairs was not fun. I also didn't like the automatic light in the bathroom. When you get up at night it comes on whether you want it to or not and wakes up the other person.

a great CLEAN place to stay near Santa Monica, with quick access to formidable Venice Beach by car. Good thing that there was a free parking on site, and a bagged breakfast (a muffin, a banana, an apple) with hot coffee. The internet might have been better for my zoom meeting, but it was good enough to check emails and do some work in the morning.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to my family who lived locally. We could not be happier with our private oasis each evening. Our hotel room was immaculately clean, comfortable and we had a room on the courtyard which was a nice perk. We'll be selecting SureStay Hotel by Best Western on our next visit to Santa Monica!

My daughter and I stayed here a couple nights while visiting family in the area. We got a queen room inside the courtyard which was gated and a room key was needed to open - something I definitely appreciated for safety purposes since the hotel is located on a somewhat busy street. There is a nice Trader Joe's right next door. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking in 3 different lots, which was free, and our room was sparkling clean. Shower and toilet worked great. The only reason I'm giving this hotel a "very good" rating and not an "excellent" rating is because other guests didn't seem to be very respectful of what I would consider quiet hours. Walking around the courtyard at 1:00am talking to your best girlfriend on the phone about your boyfriend is not something all guests want to hear. And as guests came in and out of the courtyard late at night, they were not exactly quiet. A simple sign at the gate mentioning being respectful of others between the hours of 12am-6am would be a nice addition. Of course this is not the hotel's fault but it was annoying both nights and continuously woke us up.

The rooms weren't family friendly and there was a water leak in the room that can seen when you come into the room. Was give a room with a shower even tho I marked a child would be with us so disappointed and makes no sense.

If you are worried about room cleanliness and think you will get more if you pay more - think again. This place is doing a great job - stay with confidence. Stayed with children on a budget, got good Internet, decent coffee in the morning, charged my EV on-site for free. Who can ask for more?

Excellent location and safe. Easy freeway access as well as beach 2.5 miles down street. Trader Joe's in walking distance and whole foods down block as well as Starbucks. Rooms clean and staff very accommodating would highly recommend

I stayed at the Best Western 'SureStay' in Santa Monica back in March 2020 just as California shut restaurants and the Western World started to go into it's first Covid lockdown. My room, a standard with King bed, we clean and comfortable and well appointed. Due to Covid breakfast was a 'breakfast bag' that was basic, but hey all last minute and everyone was doing what they could in difficult circumstances. I checked out after one night (I was booked for 2 nights) as I needed to fly home to the UK before flights started getting pulled. My room was £128 (inc Taxes) a night including breakfast. Quite pricey for a Best Western but for Santa Monica and California in general the price was reasonable in comparison to many other hotel rates.

We loved staying here. It was a great value for the money. It's a 10 minute drive to everything. The mattress was comfortable. The TV was huge for room size. only Downside was the Vanity Mirror was way too dim.

Great and safe location with free parking and close to freeway access. Room has excellent amenities with free internet, kitchenette with Microwave, mini fridge and small dining area. Also, the room comes with free continental breakfast.

Room was very good and hotel is a couple of miles to the beach. Close to I10 and able to get around. The Front Desk people were very friendly and professional. The housekeepers knocked daily to check if I needed anything.

This was the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. They went above and beyond. The room was well appointed with a little kitchenette area, containing sink,small fridge and microwave and a table. Bed was really comfortable, shower had nice water pressure. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. I was only here one day on business but would definitely stay here again for leisure as well.

Be afraid. The floors were sticky. The Sheetrock was patched up and damaged in numerous spots. The water was scalding...like lawsuit worthy scalding. Couldn't turn off the shower. I tried but it just kept running. It didn't really matter that much though because the pressure wasn't strong, more like a trickle; so little water wasted. Oh, and the bathroom lights never went out. And they flickered like something out of a horror film all day and night. Could hear everything through the walls. I would have rated this a one star. However, the grab and go bagged breakfast was nice. Came with a banana, apple, bottled water, granola bar and muffin. Also, parking was free.

We stayed here for two nights while looking at colleges in the LA area. The room was updated and clean, and the front desk staff was very accommodating. The courtyard area was a nice place to sit outside. We would definitely stay here again.

This is our first time in Santa Monica and was happy to find a Best Western/SureStay within the vicinity. Our room was very clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, even had a flat screen TV! It appears that our room was newly renovated. I was impressed that before we entered our room, that there was a “tampering sticker” at the door, stating the extra steps they have taken to ensure that our room was sanitized. Due to the pandemic, breakfast is a brown bag that consists of an apple, banana, muffin, granola bar, and bottled water; it was filling. Coffee was also available in the room and in the breakfast area. If there was an area if improvement, perhaps have paper towels/ hand towels and hand/dish soap if the room had a kitchen sink like ours. Overall, great value, friendly staff, great location! Highly recommend in Santa Monica!

Stayed in a king room everything was so clean and updated color of the room was inviting and fresh. The area my man and I stayed in had a gated locked entry way which provided a secure feeling being that it was on a busy street. The patio they have set up is just as inviting, would stay here again the next time we visit

I would have given this hotel a full 5 but in the morning the supervisor and the housekeeping staff were standing around watching everyone and entered our room to clean as we were loading our luggage in the car before check out time. Made us feel like we had to leave and the supervisor followed my husband to the lobby suspiciously as he did go check out. It was just weird. But it was so clean, nicely updated and would be great for a small get away to Santa Monica. Just need to have a training with how to make guests feel comfortable.

Rooms have been recently renovated and are beautiful and top quality. Breakfast was lovely with a nice large sitting area. Locations is great with close food choices and just off the highway. Great choice for travelling families.

Loved staying here at the Surestay Hotel by Best Western Santa Monica. It was a perfect location with great service and clear. Loved to walk to my room from a courtyard. The lights at night made it look out of a movie. Great place to stay if visiting Los Angeles.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and arrived quite late after driving along US1 highway. Hotel has 3 separate buildings and the only way to get to reception / breakfast room is from the road. Did not like this part at all, there should have been some sort of connectivity within the hotel premises. Room we were given was upstairs and faced the street. As suspected noise was a major problem. We went back to reception to ask for a room at the back and night staff could only offer us a room with 2 double beds. We booked a king bed room. So we stayed in the room with noise problem and next morning got a room on ground floor in the middle. Room itself is good and bathroom is also good size. There is also a small kitchenette with mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast was included and was quite basic.Parking is free (first come first serve) and we were able to find a spot everyday. All in all was an ok experience, next time will stay in a hotel facing the Santa Monica beachfront.

It was a very good hotel with a delicious breakfast. Although we didn't use it, there was free parking. It was close to the beach. Bus stop very close. Just few homeless around, in contrast to the rest of Los Angeles where lots of people live on the streets. Santa Monica Pier and beach where wonderful.

Old remodeled 2 story wooden building. No noise suppression from anywhere. Sleep was OK until loud truck started at 7am in parking lot. Parking is directly outside your window. Tiny room with barely room to walk after luggage is open. Minimal storage space. no fridge in our unit. No coffee or toiletries replaced after use. Room was clean except for carpet. Very loud AC/Heat fan.

This hotel was well kept and clean and offered what could be expected of an establishment of this class. The staff were helpful and kind and cleanliness was certainly a priority. It is well placed on Pico Boulevard which is handy to many highlights of this area of Los Angeles. It was easily accessible by car to a major arterial freeway; taking you to where you want. I stayed during a quiet period between Christmas and New Years and the road access was very friendly. Not too hectic. Having said that, the passing traffic noise was amplified so you would have to factor this in if you were sensitive to traffic noise at night. The surrounding neighborhood was safe and walkable with breakfast, lunch and dinner options within walking distance. The breakfast offered by the hotel was standard fare for American hotels - bagels, pancakes, spreads, yoghurts and basic fruits. The dining area was well-attended and kept clean. Overall, I would certainly recommend it for those on a budget visiting the Los Angeles area. I was satisfied and happy with the hotel and would return to it in the future.

Hotel is absolute amazing we stay for chrtismas and we have such a great time , all front desk staff was nice expect for the one at night , anyways we get along , food across the street nice , all the rest was good .

Facility was in great location, with many amenities. Staff was courteous and very professional. Went out of their was to make our stay comfortable. The facility was very clean, safe, and comfortable. Highly recommended.

This place has very unique rooms. Big Samsung TV, small kitchen area, etc. About 2 miles from the pier. Very tranquil. Free parking. I think building 3 has parking spots that are easy to maneuver. The person at the front desk during our check in received us really well. Guided us on the places around and the best place to park at the pier. If you are driving try to Pier, park on Colorado and 2nd. They offer free parking for the first 90 mins and it is close to everything you would be interested in. The only problem I had was that the internet did not work well for me. This is a problem that can be easily solved.

This SureStay fit our needs perfectly. The room was spotless clean, The bedroom is large. The bed is super comfortable and there area lots of cable channels.The small kitchen area is well equipped. Given that there is a Trader Joe across the street it was handy to have a microwave and refrigerator. I found the staff to be extremely helpful. I will certainly stay here again when visiting the grandchildren.

We had a very pleasant stay at this little gem. Danielle at reception went out of her way to find us a ground floor room, please note that this hotel does not have an elevator. Complimentary breakfast, no hot items. Parking was a little tight, but no extra charges. We will definitely be back, thanks!

Fantastic Hotel, I had a highly enjoyable stay. The location is idyllic for any tourist. I forgot the name of the Chinese gentleman who checked me, but he was very helpful and attentive. I will most certainly come back!

Perfect location. Close to the beach and restuarents. Walking distance to expo line. My family really enjoyed there stay. Breakfast was perfect to start my day. This will be my go to place in Santa Monica.

The exterior of the hotel is average and you would think the rooms would be the same. But they appear to have been recently updated and they were a nice size. A laminate floor so it was cold in the morning but they did provide hospital style socks to wear if you didn't have slippers. Negatives for me would be the parking and i found the mattress to soft for my taste but wife thought it was find. The hotel is not that far from the beach and pier about 2.5 miles.

Comfortable bed, good breakfast, amazing customer service. Housekeeping department kept my room clean. Had coffee and cookies. Nice ambience. Any time I had a problem it was take care of. Good service overall.

This little hotel is amazing. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Michael checked me in and was very helpful with questions I had about Santa Monica and the must sees while visiting. The room I got was very clean and spacious, it was stocked with all essentials as well. The location is pretty central, so its easy to get around. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone.

After all everything was good and location is convenient, the courtyard was nice and secure the only issue is the weak internet and the smoking area wasn't very inviting and I didnt feel very secure in the parking lot.

Enjoyed a recent overnight stay that included an upgraded room in building 3. Clean and spacious room + bathroom. Comfortable king bed, Lovely courtyard setting outside the room. Highly recommended for those visiting Santa Monica and surrounding areas. Will definitely return.

I love this hotel! It is always clean and updated. The free parking in such a great location is a great perk. Here you are near Santa Monica, there's a Trader Joe's right next door and the complimentary breakfast offerings were great! It's always my go to hotel when staying in this area of LA.

The accommodations certainly met our needs. It is a 1 hour walk to the beach & Santa Monica pier. There is a Starbucks a couple blocks away. The yummy UpperWest restaurant is a couple doors away as is a great Mexican restaurant (see my other reviews). The hotel room with 2 queen beds was located on the 2nd floor. A full, well stocked, good continental breakfast is offered. There is an inviting courtyard with loungers & BBQ. Free internet and free parking. The grocer Trader Joe's is just next door as is another option for buying adult beverages. The hotel location is good for going to the Getty Center.

When I made my reservation I specifically told them that I'm disabled and I needed a first floor room. Up and down steps to get to the room. The only ice machine is at the top of the stairs ON THE SECOND FLOOR! Someone didn't plan these buildings very well. While the front desk folks are really nice, I don't think I will ever stay here again.

The staff at the front counter were very friendly and inviting. The hotel staff, the strength behind the scenes, were amazing and attentive. It was a extremely good experience and a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Visiting family in Santa Monica. The location was within walking distance of both the family residence and shops/restaurants. The room was great and loved that it opened out on to the courtyard. We will definitely stay there again on future trips.

Visiting family in the neighborhood so it was nice to find a reasonably price clean accommodation close by. Nothing fancy, just clean room and bathroom, nice helpful staff and a basic breakfast each morning. I will be back.

This place is about 2 miles or so from the Santa Monica Pier. Parking on site! The hotel is 3 buildings on the same block. We stayed in the 3rd building which was a 2 minute walk to to the lobby. In the lobby they served breakfast, but we only partook in the coffee (we woke up late). The staff was friendly. Check in was a breeze. The room was great! 2nd floor. No elevators though, but that is fine. King size bed. Great air conditioning unit but it was a tad noisy; we did not mind at all though. If it is turned off we could hear the commotion right outside the window, but we didn't hear anyone once they got into their rooms. Didn't even hear the neighbors. Shower was lovely. Room had a little kitchenette too, so we could store food and drinks; plus it had the standard coffee pot. The whole place was reminiscent of an apartment complex, including a couple of small BBQs out front and chairs, but missing the pool. Pretty neat place. I would totally stay here again. There is a market across the street, and a coffee shop 1 block up. Quiet enough street during the evening. We weren't there during the day to notice.

We stayed in this hotel for one night in August in a ground floor room that had recently been renovated. The staff were helpful, as we arrived before our room was ready but we were able to leave our luggage. The rooms are basic but clean and have been decorated to a good standard. This hotel is a good base to explore the rest of the city. Free parking was provided.

While the location is far from the beach and pier, the bus is right outside the door and moves fast. There is also free parking on premises, a definite plus in this city. Breakfast is simple, but sufficient. Most people should be able to find something satisfying. The rooms have recently been renovated and are generally spacious. I stay about twenty nights a year in this hotel and I consider it my home in Santa Monica. There is a Trader Joe's next to the property, so you have food and drink for the room readily available---another convenience. Occasionally I am in a room that needs a new mattress (The hotel is generally full year-round, so all the beds get a lot of use.) Overall, this is a property that serves its guests well.

Pros: Room was very clean. Hotel staff (I only dealt with night staff, cleaning and maintenance people) were friendly and polite. Good value, very good location. Parking and wifi were included with the room rate. There was a decent amount of drawer space. Cons: Bathroom had no towel racks, and only one hook. Countertop space was sparce. Bathroom had a very unpleasant odor, reminiscent of the Manhattan subway system. The odor seemed to emanate from the ceiling vent, which was not cleaned despite my request. Courtyard was noisy, particularly in the morning. Only window in room faced courtyard, and the shade and curtain were designed so that no sunlight could be let in without a major sacrifice of privacy. Bed was uncomfortable, pillows were lumpy.

I was in this hotel for 4 days with my husband and it was perfect! great location and cleanliness, but for me the best was the customer service, wonderful staff and very attentive! would definitely return

A pleasant stay in a safe area. The staff were very nice and accommodating with any request I had. The rooms where nice, bed was comfy, it was always kept very clean. The area felt very safe and was well connected with the bus to the beach or into the city. There's a supermarket just down the street which was also very convenient. Breakfast was good enough – the only downfall was that they use a lot of plastic. They used plastic plates and cutlery for breakfast instead of washable/reusable material. Other than their plastic usage, my experience staying here was nice. As a solo traveler, I felt much safer and happier here than other places I stayed.

More food options for the breakfast would have been nice to have. Other than that, my husband and I enjoyed the friendly customer service and extremely clean room which made our stay super comfortable. Thank you!

Tiny rooms. No closet just a bunch of hooks. Right next to the parking lot. Literally have a car running feet from my bed room pillow. The air conditioner is right next to the bed and they even screwed a diffuser that points the air direction directly at the bed. Who thought of this? Mini fridge microwave and tv stacked directly above each other because there is no room in this shoe box they call a hotel room. Mini fridge was loud. Location OK. When we asked front desk if this is where we check in the lady said, "Well, check in is at 3:00pm." We didn't ask what time we could check in. Just if we were at the right location.

This hotel was previously a Travelodge a year ago. However, now that Best Western took over. The rooms have been remodeled with new carpet in the sleeping area and wood flooring throughout the kitchenette and bathroom. The beds are also a big upgrade, very comfortable which is the most important to me. Overall the hotel is very peaceful and quiet.

We stayed here 5 nights on our coastal California trip. Santa Monica is a lovely place and a great location for seeing all the sites. Universal studios , Hollywood, griffiths observatory, rodeo drive ( using a car)

The location is a bit away from the Santa Monica pier, but with several options for food and drinks course by. It's also next door to a Trader Joe's grocery store which can be convenient. The room had a good bed,a mini kitchen and a nice bathroom. Everything was brand new and it was quiet around the hotel. Between the hotel buildings there were garden chair, tables and BBQ. Free parking on the grounds.

Hotel was very clean and quiet, but room definitely smelled of stale cigarettes. They are renovating rooms and I'm not sure if this one was before or after. The smell was the worst in the bathroom but not intolerable overall for a week stay. Very clean and quiet and staff was very friendly. I'll definitely go back for business as it's near my office and will just be more on top of asking for a room with out this issue.

Location: Pico ave. Close to bus and Santa Monica Beach. Hotel:4 separate buildings. Each 2 stories high. Only the 3rd and 4th seems like it has a courtyard with a gate. 2nd building seems is open to anyone. Room: 2Queen 2nd building. Remodeled, comfortable beds, large TV, spacious bathroom and small wet bar with fridge and a 2 person table. Positives: Super friendly staff, Free parking. Location is excellent a $10 uber away to the beach or a 30 min ride on the bus. Close to some restaurants and groceries stores with in walking distance. Negatives: No elevator (at least on our building). Only one car allowed to park. Wifi was spotty at times. Daniella was awesome at check in and through out the stay. Check in was seamless and quick. The hotel itself is separated into 4 buildings with parking parking in between them. Parking is free but only one car allowed as it can get full late at night. I dont think the buildings have elevators so if you have alot of bags be sure to ask for a ground floor room. Rooms have been recently renovated with new furniture, linens and wall paper. Overall it looks like a room at a brand new hotel. Location is great and prices are just right. I usually bring my amazon fire stick to stream my shows but at this hotel the wifi seemed slower. Perhaps being in the mail building would have been better.

Over the years, I've stayed at this hotel multiple times when on business or visiting my family / grandkids! It is convenient, clean, affordable and the staff takes pride in their work. The small kitchen area is such an asset whether you fully use it or not. The location and parking arrangement is also wonderful.

Great stay, the hotel was clean and staff was friendly, great location for live shows at McCabe's and wonderful restaurants nearby like Lares. Some rooms have kitchenettes which helps save money during travel times. We will definitely come back

Stayed here with my 16 year old son for 2 nights and we both agreed it was a pleasant experience. The staff were helpful and friendly and the location meant we were within a short drive of all the main tourist attractions.

Best Value and Friendly Staff In Santa Monica for just being 3 Miles away from the beach, also there are Jump bikes/Scooters rentals from UBER to get you to the beach And.our Room Suite was well kept and pleasant to stay in, Coming back for sure.

This hotel is 3 metro stops to Santa Monika beach. In opposite direction, the same metro line takes you to the center of LA. It has 4 separate buildings, with no common space or a lobby. I didn't like the direct approach from outside to the room, because it felt less safe. The room is comfortable, the beds and the pillows are nice. There is very small kitchen with fridge, coffee machine and a microwave. The restaurant very small (10 tables). The breakfast was not so rich in choices - the children liked the pancaces (self preparated) and it was served in plastic plates and accessories. Since the hotel is on the street, it is noisy during the night and in the morning.

The best place, the staff was very accommodating with needs. Asked for a mat for bathroom, & they had a new one in room. Also, non slip slippers was great. The room was clean & so was the courtyard. The service counter staff went above & beyond. Also, they gave military discount. Amazing place. All of your hotels should be like this

This is not a swanky hotel but it has a nice vibe because of the staff. We had stayed there several times when it was a Travelodge and were happy to see that a number of the staff had been re-hired when Best Western took over. The rooms are not large (by US standards) but they are adequate and have been nicely remodeled. (The remodeling was in progress during our visit.) You are on busy Pico Boulevard but we have never been bothered by traffic noise. There are a couple of good restaurants within walking distance and you can hop on Santa Monica's Big Blue Bus for an easy ride to the beach or 3rd Street Promenade.

Great hotel and great location. Staff was very friendly! The breakfast was good and the courtyard was pleasant and secure. We enjoyed our stay and had no issues while staying at this hotel. We would stay again.

Only problem we had was parking. This was because they were doing renovations to the other building so once that is done it should be better. The location was good with several restaurants in the area.

Close to UCLA oncology center in Santa Monica. I had a Monday surgery scheduled so I and my friend (my driver) checked in on Sunday. Separate rooms because I'm told I snore. It was a short drive to the hospital and he checked out the next day and drove me home. Very helpful and pleasant staff.

This hotel was centrally located. Staff werd great and it was very clean. Good ample breakfast. Great shower. Comfy beds. Get a room towards the back away from the road. Some road noise though ok for me Heater was very noisy

The room we stayed at had been newly redecorated. Beautiful style and comfortable bed. The breakfast the next morning was ample. And the staff was very friendly and helpful. We wish we had stayed more than one night. We will be back.

We've stayed at this place several times over the years, first as the Travelodge and now SureStay. You might drive by it on Pico and think "what is that place in this dumpy little neighbourhood", but the whole area seems to be slowly renovating itself. It's a great little home-from-home when we've been on our way in or out of town, and I highly recommend it. It's a great location, easy for Santa Monica or LA - close to the 10 freeway. The staff are very friendly and every time we've been there the rooms seem to have been upgraded again. And there's even a little kitchen/dining are at the back of the large room, very handy when you're on the road. Best of all this place is pet friendly so our dogs can stay with us, and they love it too.

nice clean and recently refurbished rooms, beds are comfortable, and the added bonus of a small kitchenette (Fridge & microwave) - although no plates or utensils. breakfast included in room rate, was a simple continental - pancake maker, toast and bagels, spreads & condiments, apples and banana's, oatmeal sachets, yoghurt, granola, hot tea and coffee. Across the road the number 7 bus takes you down to Santa Monica downtown, they run pretty frequently and its $1.25 one way (if you dont have a pass). There's a Wholegreen's and a Riteaid Pharmacy a couple of blocks down Pico boulevard.

Oh, where to start. Negative stars, this place doesn't even deserve 0-1 stars. I traveled on a 6.5 hour flight, as far as possible within the domestic US with my mother to visit my brother who was driving a couple hours from a Naval Base in CA for my birthday. I arrive at this hotel via taxi, and "they don't have 2 bed rooms due to renovations". Um, for real? My reservation (I have all documentation) says 2 queen beds, but my cancellation now says 1 King Bed. THE HOTEL CHANGED MY TYPE OF ROOM THEMSELVES! THAT IS ILLEGAL! They said the renovations are taking longer than they expected and there are no 2 bed rooms available, and they were "accommodating us by putting us in a King bed room with a rollaway mattress". We had 3 people - my mom, me, and my 6 foot 1 brother. Umm, my brother isn't sleeping in a bed with me, his sister, or his mother. He's an adult on vacation. We were offered the following: 50% our 5 day stay, and a MATTRESS ON THE FLOOR FOR SOMEONE TO SLEEP ON. Listen, 50% is great and all, but that's not vacation. My mom isn't going to sleep on the floor, and we would be so cramped in a one bedroom it would not of been a nice vacation for my birthday. The front desk staff was really nice and did all they could to move us to another hotel, but my review is about management. Because: 1. WHY DIDN'T MANAGEMENT OR ANYONE CALL ME TO TELL ME THERE WERE NO 2 QUEEN BEDS AVAILABLE? EMAIL ME? I HAVE A BEST WESTERN ACCOUNT, YOU HAD MY INFO. 2. Sure, we had to move to another hotel, The Gateway, and it was better. But we also paid $500 more. So you did me no favors at the end of the day.. I came out $500 poorer after my long trip. I did not get the opportunity to choose a hotel on my own time for the best price, I was forced sitting in their lobby within 10 minutes to "figure it out" or be out on the street. 3. They paid for the cab to the new hotel, which was nice.. but still did not help with my $500 extra fee. 4. The manager was in his room and was listening to our conversations with the front desk agents. He DID NOT come out to talk to us, to apologize, nor to even acknowledge what was happening. 5. There were construction workers everywhere, which I was not notified of renovations when I booked this. For me to lay outside on the lounge chairs I would of been tanning with all the workers. So let's recap: I was told that somebody could simply sleep on the floor, I could tan with the construction workers, and they moved us to 1 bed in the system because they were doing us a favor by accommodating us? 50% off does me nothing. It's my birthday. We're adults. And I'm posting this review everywhere humanly possible, DO NOT STAY HERE. STAY AT THE GATEWAY HOTEL. I will never stay at a Best Western again, because to put your name on a hotel like this is unacceptable. To not contact your customers BEFORE THEY FLY 6.5 HOURS AND TRAVEL IS RIDICULOUS. What if there was no other hotel available? What if I couldn't afford the extra $500? Would I be sleeping on the street, or in my brothers rental car he drove from the Naval base? You left us no choice and backed into a corner. Unacceptable.

A must for Best western lovers. Do not have a bad word about this place. Room was clean and updated. Staff always willing to help. Breakfast very good. Location good. Will deffinatly stay again. Highly recommend.

First night in a first floor room was bad, no air and lots of noise from above. The friendly staff moved our luggage to an upstairs room - so much better for the remaining nights. Breakfast was plenty and everything very clean, but a little bit outdated

Functional hotel with a lot of extras. Eg free WiFi , parking and continental breakfast. Rooms are spacious and very clean but in need of updating. Shower is disappointing and room is very noisey . Ideal spot for travelling around area .

Hotel is being remodeled, with what they have, doing a good job, the staff acts like they are always on the defensive. Very clean, but very inflexible, great location for what I was there for, 2 miles straight shot to the beach.

This is a nicely renovated hotel that is a perfect spot for visiting LA. The area is great but do keep in mind that you are not walking distance to the pier but there are many places close by and an accessible bus route. Staff is pleasant, housekeeping was great, and room was always clean and well presented. The room is not the biggest but it has everything you need and is very clean and modern looking. Breakfast is quite standard, not that many options but enough to get you a good quick meal to start the day. All in all a good place to stay.

I stayed at the SureStay for 3 days. The location is convenient to West LA, Beverly Hills or the Marina area and only 20 minutes from LAX. Access to the 10 freeway is also close. The room was clean, the bathroom big with plenty of towels and the maid service was perfect. The continental breakfast was sufficient and was better then other motels. They even have a pancake machine. Cereal, bananas, tasty yogurt, bread, hard boiled eggs among other items were always available. The staff is friendly. One free parking spot per room and I always found one fast. The room had a fridge, microwave and safe. They motel is undergoing some renovations in the building next to the one I stayed. But there was no issue with noise or anything construction related.

Not worth paying extra to stay at this dump. There are others nearby. Although the room was "new", the floor was so uneven, one would trip just walking to the bathroom. The brand new window screen was bent, so shared the room with at least 1 flying insect. And the bathroom fixture was loose.

Service and staff are excellent. Convent location. The property is a little dated, the walls were thin and could hear it noise from other rooms very easily. Good value, descent breakfast, room and common areas very clean. If you are looking for a place with friendly staff and good values and don't need to spend all your time at the hotel then consider this one.

Basic fare, clean, excellent breakfast, so-so internet, good check in. Gets the job done. If you want to cut out high hotel bills, but have a place to stay that's accessible and not pricey, this is your spot. We liked being able to park close to our rooms instead of relying on pricey valet service

Attentive, friendly, efficient staff. Location driveable convenient to UCLA, shopping, beach, eateries. Current renovations should make this even better. Free parking on property, breakfast. Walkable to Trader Joe's, good restaurants.

Nice room and central location in Santa Monica. Husband was able to step over low tub sides to use shower. Rooms are grouped 2-3 per entrance area to create a private feel. Stayed in building 2 in mid-December. Limited parking lot spaces may be a challenge during popular times of year. Nice continental breakfast choices.

Another case of you get what you pay for. Our room was musty, parking was difficult because they are remodeling, and the bed was hard. Good location with lots of restaurants and across the street from Trader Joe's.
