We stayed at Best Western Premier Sonasea Phu Quoc with our entire family after arriving on December 3, 2025, and we had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautiful, with spacious and comfortable rooms, well-maintained facilities, and a fantastic swimming pool. The beach is clean, and the overall atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing family vacation. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The only small drawback was the food. While the quality was good, the buffet became a bit repetitive after a few days, and we would have appreciated a wider variety of dishes, especially for longer stays. Apart from that, everything was excellent. We truly enjoyed our holiday and created many wonderful family memories. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay on Phu Quoc Island and would be happy to return in the future.

We were absolutely delighted with our stay here and will definitely return with our family. My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate her 10th birthday. Before the check-out incident, our stay was absolutely wonderful. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. Trinh for her thoughtful care regarding our room, and Mr. Anh (Guest Relation Supervisor) for his proactive support with the hot water issue. Also, Mr. Nguyen The Hau and the Essence Restaurant team gave my daughter an unforgettable birthday celebration on July 14th. I had actually drafted a glowing 5-star review because of them. However, everything was completely shattered right after check-out due to the hostile behavior of a specific lifeguard and the shocking irresponsibility of the management. Since post-check-out facility rules vary by hotel, I had strictly confirmed with Mr. Anh beforehand that we were allowed to use the pool and shower facilities. Yet, when we requested an additional towel for my young daughter who has long hair, the lifeguard on duty acted in an incredibly derogatory manner. He picked up a wet, dirty towel straight out of the laundry return bin and aggressively told me to use it. When I demanded a fresh one, he reluctantly brought it but intentionally held onto it tightly, refusing to let go easily while showing clear hostility. I was completely humiliated right in front of my child and had to openly ask him why he was treating a paying guest like a criminal or a thief. He only offered a dismissive, half-hearted apology after I strongly protested. What made it even worse was the management's response. I immediately complained to Ms. Ly (Duty Manager) and Mr. Truong (Recreation Supervisor). Ms. Ly tried to quiet me down by offering free water sports activities, which I flatly refused. This is not about seeking minor perks; it is about basic human respect. Furthermore, when I formally requested a written incident report to document this violation, the Duty Manager refused, claiming the hotel has no manual or protocol for issuing one. It is deeply frustrating and heartbreaking that my daughter had to witness her father being treated like a thief by resort staff on her milestone birthday trip. A Premier-tier international hotel should never allow such poor staff discipline and lack of corporate accountability. I am so please during my visit best western premier. Staffs are so friendly, polite, helpful and respectful. Facility is clean and beyond expectations. I especially thanks to Ms. Tran Nguyễn from restaurant service. She gave us a warm welcome, made us feeling like coming home. Not a good place to stay while in phu qoc the rooms are small air conditions dont work water leakage from rooms, breakfast no good at all. Not at all worth spending so much money

I had a pleasant stay at Best Western in Phu Quoc. The hotel has a lovely ambience and the service was excellent throughout. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. My room was neat, clean, and had a nice balcony, which added to the overall comfort. The hotel also has its own private beach, and the evening fire dance performances were a great experience. The rooftop bar with a DJ created a lively atmosphere at night. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including a dedicated Indian breakfast corner. There is also a small convenience store near the hotel. However, although an Indian buffet was available, the taste and quality were disappointing. Indian restaurants are also quite far away and require a taxi. The hotel is located away from most major attractions as well.

great place to stay while in phu quoc. might be a little far away from the central of phu quoc but you have all the facilities and what you need around here. breakfast included. great pool and their own private beach.

*Not great for North Americans/Western Europeans* Overall very poor experience. Hospitality standards you'd receive at other great chains such as Hilton or Marriott don't exist here. Staffs English is poor. Shortcuts are visibly taken. The rooms are cleaned with speed and not accuracy. Guest services lacks compassion. Overcrowded breakfast with guests that lack common sense and courtesy. (Stagger it out) my girlfriend was pushed aside multiple times by granny's and young kids. First night here I got sick from something we ate, and the only response from the hotel was “take them to the hospital” when all we needed was a bottle of sparkling water and tissue paper. 2nd night we were notified of a private party taking place in the middle of the hotel that lasted until 10:30pm (22:30) that included a microphone and karaoke late night, including flashing strobeish lights that were glancing up at our room. Next is the smell of the place. The whole pool area smells of sewage water, so swimming in the ocean is your best bet. Our last night we just called and asked for a simple bottle of water to be brought up to the room, and we were returned with being hung up on. After that I spoke to the manager on duty and informed her of all this and how it's adding up to be just a poor experience. This is a nice property for best western, but it lives up to the best western motels in rural America. I don't advise any North American to stay here because service standards that we know and love and go on vacation for are lacking. I am not worried about getting anything out of this. Me and my partner work in hospitality in the Bay Area and this place was a joke to us. As for Vietnam goes, we've been very well taken care of at our Marriott and Hilton stays, and we absolutely love Vietnam and all it has to offer. We've had a blast. But this was our last stay before we head back and go back to work and the Best western Sonasea Phu Quoc does not meet a western standard. Pinch your Pennie's together and stay at some place that cares about the guest and not squeezing for profit. They cater to tour groups from the countries north of Vietnam. They could do much much better with better hospitality standards. Thanks for the complimentary beach towels.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the dislikers… The hotel is overcrowded and noisy. Breakfast is totally chaos, and very un-hygenic. Not enough staff to clean and prepare tables. The food is good though, many options. But to be honest, its stressful. The hotel should consider limiting how many that can buy breakfast. We did have halfboard, and dinner was much better. Not that many people and decent options to eat. The hotel itself is run-down. No where to stay around the pools either. Pools are pumped with noisy families. We have kids ourselfes, but it just gets to crazy 😅 Better to stay at the Beach, but like any other Beach on Phu Quoc, they are green and full og Carbage. In general, Phu Quoc has been a major dissapointment to us. Beaches are nowhere as describes. Sao and Khem, all are green water and dirty. Its just not taken proper Care of. We did go on a snorkling trip with on-bird, which was very good. And we think that if you go, the. Probably do some island hopping. We did see nice beaches on that trip. But theres surely better beaches and stuff to see on the mainland. No need to spend time on Phu Quoc

We stayed for 9 nights over Christmas as a party of 11 with 5 kids (aged 13,10,7,6 and 4). We had a wonderful time overall and have lots to say about the hotel so will just list the pros and cons (in my eyes)… Pros: Our 2 bedroom suite in the main hotel was huge! The standard of food is great with lots of seafood on offer and all sorts of cuisines. We were on half board and our dinners were lovely, not busy at all, eaten outside with all beers and soft drinks included. The Xmas Eve gala dinner was incredible with lots of dancing, the band were great. The location of hotel is on a lovely beach with no litter, beautiful sunsets and a beach bar. There is also a long promenade perfect for running. If you walk left for 2km you will reach the public beach which has an aqua park for the children. It's £3 for all day wristband. Entertainment wise…the nightly fire show on the beach was worth seeing and the pool foam parties were great fun too. The night market across the street was vibrant and the supermarket opposite is handy, you can also get your laundry done here. Cons: English isn't widely spoken by the staff so it's tricky to communicate anything. Service generally isn't great. You can wait an hour for a drink at the beach bar and more than that for food. Breakfast is crazy busy and to be honest quite stressful! The staff are definitely overworked at breakfast time. We went to Grand Wonders (fake Venice) for dinner one night which is worth seeing just for the surrealism, we did a 3 island boat trip which we thoroughly enjoyed and we went to Aquatopia on the cable car which was a great day out. Hal (the taxi guy) is very helpful. In terms of clientele, over Christmas it was 70 percent Russians. Then after Christmas I would say there were more Koreans. All lovely people. I'd recommend Phu Quoc and this hotel for a Christmas break, just come with the awareness that no request is done with any urgency and that the breakfast is not a relaxing experience!

Sorry to say but the hotel is totally overrun during christmas 2025. We payed a premium to be here, we have to fight ourselves into breakfast every morning to find empty buffets, no seats and overrun staff. They simply cant handle this amount of guests. But. We all payed the premium price to be here. Unacceptable. And then there is the gala newyears dinner we as a family looked forward to. SOLD OUT. I communicated through booking.com with miss Lien, I even have proof. “No payment, no booking” said the manager. So no place for us in the hotel we booked for 75 million dong. Crazy. Again. Very bad customer yourney management. No trust. The other day we wanted to exchange some US dollars, the only would accept 50, from the 100 USD i needed. “Can be fake money sir”. I bloody got it from a bank. If you do not trust your guests, this comes back to you. We are Best Western loyalty guests. This is totally unacceptable. Very sad. Making the best of it. Next time it will be Melia or Novotel. Tip: Go there, do not come here.

Our family enjoyed our stay in the two bedroom suite. The buffet breakfast is amazing - so many choices! The pools are incredible and it's beautiful to watch the sunset from the rooftop bar or the beach in front of the hotel. There's a general store opposite, and at night there's a night market with seafood, small stores etc. It takes 25min by Uber to get to the main town with the proper night market. It's around 15min to get to the harbour. Most tours do free pick up from this hotel. CAUTION: The hotel's beach bar has a fire show at night. The performers called my daughter on stage and without asking our permission, or warning her of the dangers, gave her flammable liquid to hold in her mouth and spurt out to catch on fire. This was incredibly dangerous and I can't believe Best Western allows it. Fire breathing liquid can cause serious chemical burns if swallowed.

We booked a 4 bedroom villa and upon checkin we did not like the cleanliness, old dated furniture, worn out linen and mouldy depressing setting of the Villa so requested to upgrade to 4 double rooms by paying the differencial extra amount. The reservation staff refused to listen to any of us. Ms Lien (E-commerce Supervisor) wrote back a very crisp nasty email stating the hotel could do nothing - no changes or refund. We kept calling a number of times but none of the managers has bothered to speak to us since all have left for home .. its 6pm. Managers stop working after 6pm and you cannot be heard or assisted.

This location is south of the airport along the western coast. Convenient access to the developed beachfront. All the amenities you can imagine, BUT NOT ICE. You can only get one bucket of ice one time for your entire stay in the refrigerators do not pull your drinks. I saw many people coming downstairs to the restaurant to get ice and I didn't understand until I tried to use the refrigerator and it didn't work the hotel has a policy of one bucket of ice, one time per stay. Other than the ice policy, it is a great hotel in a great location.

Pleasant enough, nice pool and beach access. No view from balcony. Staff pleasant. Breakfast included great variety, so busy due to so many guests. If you are a couple wanting peace and quiet, stay somewhere else as lots of children at the resort. A huge black cloud as we checked out… We accidentally broke a mug which we informed them about and we were happy to pay for, but they charged us $18 (Australian) to replace…$18!!! It is a great location with night market, supermarkets and many great eateries on their door step. But I would not stay again.

Excellent location with less than 15 minutes drive from the airport, shuttle and belt boy services were well above average. It's a really huge resort with direct beach access, but some of the room equipements may require maintenance. Pools were huge to accommodate clients even during peak season. Housekeeping was efficient, yet a high degree of cleanliness. However, there is room for improvment on client services from female managers. 4.5 hours of breakfast and food varities were exceptional, but I would say there was insufficient manpower at the restaurant during the peak breakfast time. I bought it as a package in a super great deal, much more value for money. Noise level from neighbours was still acceptable.

Stay in this hotel was amazing. My boyfriend managed to secretly set up a dinner on the beach at the sunset time where he proposed to me. It was amazing experience and staff did their job perfectly, special thanks to Hau and Hien - they were very sweet and attentive to us. Food was also so much on point! Hotel is very big and has a lot to offer from spa to scouter rental to romantic dinner at the beach. Breakfast is great as well. Special love to the staff of the hotel!
