Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable, quiet hotel, great hot breakfast cooked to order. Surprisingly good and reasonably priced food served at the bar, which was very welcome since we were too tired to venture out. (Excellent water pressure in the shower too)
Great room, very clean. $8 breakfast coupon extended to guests was perfect! Friendly staff, very accommodating in a difficult medical situation, extended the medical room rate without my requesting it. Front desk staff assessed my husband's medical needs and assigned us an appropriate room. They truly went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable.
Lovely hotel. Lots of amenities. We liked that we could charge our ev as well. Grab and go breakfast very handy for us. Wish we had had the time to have the hot sit down breakfast in restaurant. Enjoyed the hot tube and the pool. Reception staff very helpful.
This is my favorite Hotel in the area. Besides the staff being awesome the rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Perfect for a family getaway. The restaurant food is really good and so is the service. A good selection and the coffee is hot. You can book a room with family to just walk out your patio door and enjoy the luxurious pool and hot tub. I have been going to this hotel for years now and will continue.
A group of friends and I stay at the Best Western Pembroke, Ontario each year and we always have a great time there. The rooms are nice, the restaurant is great and pool is always clean and tidy. This year we left a key item of gear and Brandy and her staff kindly mail it back to me promptly and efficiently. Thanks so much - we' definitely be back! Peter F.
I have to say I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The staff is fantastic, I have never seen a better staff that seem to like their jobs from front desk to restaurant. It makes it so pleasant. I requested something from Brandy Brown and she was very accommodating and I couldn't have been more pleased and she did it all with a smile. The food and service in the restaurant from breakfast to supper is excellent. I have never eaten anything I didn't enjoy. We will be back again, I think Best Western Corp is very lucky to have the staff they have here.
Clean, modern, great breakfast, comfortable beds. Everything we have come to expect from a Best Western.
The hotel lobby, stairwells, hallways and the rooms were clean. We used the pool, hot tub an sauna all were excellent. We ate dinner and breakfast at Westwinds restaurant on site. The food, price, atmosphere and wait staff were amazing.
Over the weekend, while attending a wedding in their banquet hall, I stayed in one of their suites (303). The room was very clean and quiet. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were clean and pressed. The sitting area was perfect for relaxing before and after the wedding. The bathroom was clean but a bit small; however, as a single occupant, it met my needs. There was plenty of hot water and an ample supply of clean towels. The lobby and banquet hall was very nice and clean. Plenty of sitting areas in a wide open space. Madison, the concierge who checked me in, was terrific. She had a beautiful personality and was incredibly welcoming. She was also one of the servers at the wedding, and her work ethic was inspiring. As a vegetarian, I appreciated that she went out of her way to ensure I left the wedding with a full stomach! The evening concierge staff was exceptional. Despite the ongoing wedding, they were very attentive to our needs. I had to get a taxi for a relative, and the staff facilitated that request with courtesy, even to the person who may have been a bit tipsy at the time. The morning checkout was excellent, with fresh coffee ready in the lobby. The same person who checked me out had worked the evening before. Despite their long shifts, the staff never stopped smiling and maintained a wonderful attitude. The cleaning staff was equally impressive. Before I left, I was able to thank the cleaner, and she was very personable. The restaurant was nice. I had the avocado toast that hit the spot. Our server, who was the bartender the night before at the wedding was working hard, and was tentative to our needs, despite having a long night serving us! All the amenities were clean, the pool looked amazing, and the staff made for a comfortable stay.
We always stay at BWP, the service is amazing, it's wheelchair accessible! The staff always goes above the bar to make our stay enjoyable!
Its an ok place to go , It has a cold atmosphere with its dark entrance and front desk area. People are friendly but still cold place. Best Western is not owning up to its loyalty program so pass on this establishment if you can. Also pricy
Stayed very welcoming was allowed to bring our dog who got treats from the front desk. Everyone is friend,y. Rooms very clean
3 of us stayed 2 nights and 1 had an accident in the washroom. One of the staff ( Isabel ) quickly offered and cleaned it when I asked for some cleaning supplies. Jessica ( manager ) obviously has trained her staff well. Rooms were clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Whenever I think about Pembroke the Best Western is home away from home.
Everything about our stay was fabulous - from the moment we checked in until our departure. The room was clean and well appointed, the restaurant was delicious, and all of the staff we met were very friendly and anxious to ensure our stay was great. We used the pool which was a great temperature and there were lots of windows so felt warm and airy. Unfortunately the hot tub is being worked on so missed that. Can't say enough good things about this hotel!
Very clean and well appointed room. Bed was comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Nice jacuzzi and pool. I would definitely return to this hotel. Pool view room was a bonus. Check in and out was fast. Enjoyed my stay.
When the kids and I walked in it was so inviting, staff were friendly and helpful. It was nice and quiet and felt like we had a lot of privacy. Another bonus was the heated pool, the kids and I enjoyed a nice swim. We had a good variety of tv channels and to top it off we had our complimentary hot breakfast it was a great selection to choose from.
The staff was rude, they have treated our kids with disrespect and had the most rediculous policies especially for hockey teams. Never stay here if you want your kids to enjoy their hockey tournament or you want your family to have a good time. If I could write more bad about how we were treated I would.
My wife, brother in-law and myself stayed for 3 nights and found the manager ( Jessica) and staff to be very friendly and professional in their daily activities. One day I came inside from having a smoke and found the stairwell to be very quiet ( I was suffering from ear and neck pain ) I sat on the step, removed my hat and in an instant a woman named Brandy was standing in front of me asking if I was alright because she saw me on the camera. I felt impressed that she acted and didn't wait to see what might have happened had I needed some sort of aid. There was one door which to my surprise slammed very hard when I released it, however that was corrected before I used it again. I would definitely stay there again because the staffs mission is an enjoyable stay for all of their guests. There is a restaurant attached for which a breakfast coupon is supplied and coffee is also available in the morning in the lounge. Thank you to all of the staff at Best Western.
The pool and hot tub are not clean. Our room had flies and ladybugs in it. The room itself was clean and the complimentary breakfast was alright but it wasn't the best place I have stayed. Only would stay again if needed.
Front desk friendly. Grounds were lovely. Pool and gym were used by hotel guests and people with gym memberships. We were sharing the pool with seniors doing aqua classes. We didn't feel safe and private. We felt we were at a community centre, pool was crowded. Breakfast was misleading with the vouchers. We thought it was a free buffet breakfast but we got vouchers. You need to order items on the front page of menu for the free breakfast and the fine print was so small. We ended up ordering from the second page and we were charged extra for what we ordered plus tip. We felt it was misleading the wait staff should have said something but didn't. The front desk didn't want to reverse the charge. We thought it was annoying and misleading. Just pay attention when you are ordering your breakfast off the menu, especially when you have children distracting you and your half asleep in the morning ,We won't stay here again. We did not feel save Sharing amenities with general public especially if you have kids and no privacy, we felt was weird especially with the amount of money your paying
Beautiful Hotel with great staff, comfy beds and a fantastic restaurant, free breakfast and pet friendly. Would stay here again for sure. We'll exceeded our expectations compared to othe pet friendly hotels we had stayed in during our trip! A++++++++
We were back in town for a 4 day stay attending a wedding and friends reunion after having lived in the area for over 30 years. I (female) had a gym/pool membership at this specific hotel location for the past few years and loved it, plus we as a family in prior years had stayed here while we were being transferred in or out of the Military Base close by.
This is a great hotel in a great location. Pembroke is a very vibrant and beautiful small city. You will enjoy this hotel. Good pool. Good restaurant. Very comfortable beds. Clean and quiet. Great toiletries too.
Great hotel with lots of amenities. The restaurant has nice food with ample to choose from. The guest room was very clean and comfortable. The meeting rooms (that I was in) are sufficient for groups of 8 to 10 people.
the hotel is very accessible from the highway. ., the staff was very nice..our only complaint was that the a/c unit was very loud and cycled on and off every 20 mins. if we shut it off it was too hot!
Great hotel!!! Quite, Beautiful very quiet and beautiful Pool. Will definitely stay here again as I stay in hotels 5 days a week this one of the best places I have stay in the last two weeks. Great job Staff keep up the amazing work.
We had 4 adults and 4 children. The poolside rooms were nice and in a convenient location. Breakfast was included with the room and we got to order off a menus so everyone got what they wanted. The pool was a little loud after the kids went down but we expected that and just played sleep music in the room to drown out the echo. Very happy with our choice of room
This is a very nice hotel. The staff are very welcoming and were very helpful with any questions. We were truly thankful for being able to leave our truck and trailer at their hotel while we left for a snowmobile tour. This will definitely be our go to hotel in Pembroke
My favorite place to stay so far. The rooms are clean and newly renovated. It is an excellent place to snowmobile to, it is on the trail with a fuel station across the road. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast was excellent and so was the service. I would highly recommend this location
Great staff , perfect location off the trail . Lobby bar and restaurant . Perfect place to have all under one roof, no need to leave after a day of riding. Fuel across the road . Easy access to trails. Hope to see you in a couple weeks.
Best motel to stay, all amenities are great, exceptional cleanliness and restaurant facilities, staff was very professional and friendly! Good Wi-Fi connection! I will not hesitate to recommend this motel in the future!
So much happening at this party! A free drink with a piano player, prime rib dinner(which was excellent ), comedians and a great band! What more could you ask for! So much fun! Will definitely do it again!
We had an amazing time at the New Years Eve Party at the Best Western Pembroke Inn. It started with drinks in the lobby with a fabulous piano player followed by a delicious prime rib dinner. Entertainment included Yuk Yuk and the band “Sidewinder”. What a great value! We will definitely be back next year! Congratulations to the staff for putting on such a great event!
Check in was quick bag breakfast offered as we checked out before breakfast was served. Had dinner in the restaurant. Delicious fish and chips. Sticky toffee pudding wash wonderful. Very easy access to highway 17
Went to a funeral in Pembroke. The staff was very helpful. Very pleasant stay. Place was booked but had one room left. It was exactly what we were used too. Very clean and little extras like coffee etc. enjoyed our stay
We were extremely pleased with our stay. The room was very clean and well laid out. Very comfortable bed - great sleep! Breakfast was excellent - everything cooked just the way we wanted. An added bonus was the beautiful pool! would definitely come again!!
Friendly and efficient service. The staff could not do enough for me. The restaurant and bar area offered excellent food, and the staff again were top notch. The hotel itself was very clean and the beds were comfortable.
it should be easier to book a room without a credit card,i been affected by the covid situation and had to give up my credit card and it is impossible to reserve a room so very hard to make plan on a trip
Excellent hotel. Staff is amazing. Restaurant has a wide variety of food and drink. Restaurant staff is very nice and the service was excellent. The fitness center is very good and the staff is very friendly.
We have stayed there 2 times now within a month and the staff are very friendly, it's mostly wheelchair accessible. They have first floor rooms available. The accessible washroom have a shower bench. The restaurant is nice, lots of variety of foods. I recommend staying at this hotel.
This hotel is very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts are excellent, staff is friendly. There's a pool and hot tub as well as a pool table in the front lobby. The restaurant is good, especially the breakfasts as they are full hot breakfast included with you stay. There's also a well stocked bar. Overall a very good experience, definitely recommend.
Great hotel located near many fun sites. We can't wait to come back. The staff treated us like family. Great food, pool and gym clean and well staffed. The rooms were spacious with fridge and microwave
quaint hotel in a small area that has restaurant inside and nearby. the staff here were excellent as well as the room. the food was good and so were the people working there when we needed help with anything.
For how full the parking lot was I was expecting it to be noisy inside, but for all I knew, we were the only ones in the building. The rooms were so well sound proofed, we didn't hear a thing from other guests. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean and modern. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed. The breakfast and table service exceeded our expectations as well. Overall we had a great stay and the kids didn't want to leave!
A very clean and comfortable hotel to stay at and the Staff was very welcoming. The food and the service in the restaurant also exceeded our expectations. We would recommend this Best Western as a great hotel to stay at for business or pleasure.
This hotel has so much to offer. You almost won't have time to use it all. When Julie at the front desk told us she eats at the restaurant on her days off, that was enough for me. Food was fantastic. The location was close to everything we needed during our stay.
The experience was excellent! The staff truly exemplify that they want to make sure your staff is as enjoyable as possible. The rate of the facility is made even more attractive with the included resturant morning breakfast
A family member was brought to Pembroke hospital and stayed a total of 7 days. Best Western has hospital rates for these situations. A well kept hotel I always stay at the best western when I need a hotel plesant staff, fast and good food the wait staff are great, the rooms are clean, the cleaning ladies are polite and good at their jobs, never had any issues with this hotel. Only thing I would change is more options for television. Happy with all of my stays at this hotel.
We visit Pembroke every year or two and always stay at this Hotel. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, friendly staff, indoor pool, and an excellent restaurant on site. It's all right here. Located on the edge of town, with easy access to the highway.
Had a nice golf stay and play at Best Western Pembroke. Friendly , courteous and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable, A/C unit bit noises. Breakfast and Dinner meals included, great service,
Great front desk staff. Pool and attached restaurant make everything convenient. Nice breakfast included. Extra discount for motorcycles and a bike washing station. Fitness center attached is well equipped.
Had the pleasure if staying for the first time at the Pembroke BW. The entire visit was exceptional. From check in to room amenities we were very pleased. The facilities are very nice and the restaurant is sooo good Highly recommend the purple rain cocktail and the sweet potato fries
Hotel very clean and service was great. BUT we were never told that there was aquatic classes in the pool at specific times and we weren't allowed in the pool. How do you tell your kid while he is in his swimsuit and we stayed in a poolside room that you can't go use it. Also we checked in early and when we checked out the next day we were never told that an early checkin fee would be charged. Not very transparent. At least they didn't charge me for that.
Usually, one can find something about the hotel that could be improved, but this one was great all around: clean room, nice pool, and fitness centre, good restaurant, recycling options and pleasant staff.
This Hotel deserves 10 out 10, starting with Lisa the Hotel Manager, she always goes the extra mile with her outstanding service. The Hotel and rooms are always clean and perfect.Chef John always cooks my meals the way I like them, hats off to John. I would recommend this to any one, thank you.
Excellent service and stay. Staff were excellent and professional. Really personable and engaging. Hotel was clean and inviting. Would definitely come again. The restaurant was be excellent, great food and service.
Hotel is easy to find, staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was mostly clean, did find an old hair cap on top of wardrobe, but otherwise room was in good shape. However, the location of the room next to the PUBLIC pool is a terrible design. Could constantly hear people talking, kids having fun and at one point a small child choking on water, from inside the room. No opportunity to relax at all as pool is open from 8am-10pm daily. Nothing like getting a weekend get away and having to have the TV turned up to drown out the noise from the pool, or getting woken from a dead sleep by what sounds like people talking IN your room. Bed was comfortable though and did get a good nights sleep, so there is that.... Booked for 3 nights, left after 1.
For the most part our stay was good. Just a few little issues that were rectified by management after our 2 day stay. Rooms were clean and the hotel was very clean. The pool was excellent and the hot tub was much needed after 12 hours of travel.
This is one of my favorite Best Western hotels. The staff make you at home and are always going above and beyond to accommodate any needs. I would recommend this hotel whenever you are in the Ottawa Valley.
Our family went for a snowmobiling weekend and the kids had a blast, trails were great! We will definitely be back and hope to make it a yearly tradition. Rooms were clean, staff was super friendly and the food from Westwinds was good! Pricey but good!
This is a great location that offers wonderful amenities. From the comfy rooms to the hot tub/pool and restaurant. Everything was excellent. We love that the snowmobile trail goes right to it and that we can fill up at gas bar across the street. We'll see you next year!
I stayed at the hotel for business, but my wife and daughter joined me for a mini vacation. They both enjoyed the Fitness Centre, restaurant, and pool. The price was very reasonable, food was good, and all the amenities were excellent. Staff is amazing. They attempt to ensure you have a great stay.
We stayed here during a motorcycle tour of the area in October. COVID policies were in place, and the hotel, and room are exceptionally clean. We enjoyed delicious meals, and excellent service in the restaurant. In fact, service in all areas of the hotel was absolutely amazing, all of the staff we encountered were helpful, friendly, and attentive. An unexpected bonus was the extremely comfortable bed, and best sleep ever!! So much so that we inquired at the hotel where we could buy the BW mattress. Staff connected me to Lisa Stanfield, Assistant Manager who without hesitation said we can purchase through the hotel. Lisa made all the arrangements, and I am happy to report we now have the amazing BW bed and bedding at home. A very special thank you to Lisa for going above and beyond for her guests!
Clean, friendly and convenient place to stay. Enjoyed pool and hot tub. Breakfast was included and freshly made. Lots of parking for both vehicles and snowmobiles. Friend booked the room for regular rate, however I still received my membership discount upon arrival.
Stayed one night at Best Western in Pembroke. They were quick to provide last minute service. They provided all the basics such as breakfast, internet and restaurants services that can be delivered to your room and the staff we super helpful and friendly. Overall good experience.
My wife and I had the opportunity to stay at this Best Western on a Tuesday which was a perfect fall day. Much to our surprise the power went out! Staff went to a "All Hands On Deck Mode" to ensure all guests were informed, and emergency power was initiated. Other than our TV going "snow" we were not inconvenienced. The Management, Brandy Brown is to be commended for having trained and implementing protocol for this type of event. Great Stay and look forward to visiting again.
We stay here for a hockey tournament. Very clean and well organized. Would recommend this place for anyone who is staying with a large group of people. Had great conference room so we could also do a pot luck and have the parents hang out as a group..
Loved this property, great rooms, very clean, very friendly staff. We had a room adjacent to the pool, and although you could sometimes hear the kids in the pool, it wasnt a lot of noise at all. Very convenient to pop out of your room and jump in the pool. Room was very large, only minor criticism was that the tv is a little small, especially in the suites where you sit far away. But that's reflective of the size of the room as well. On site restaurant was excellent. Breakfasts were delicious, and dinners were surprisingly wonderful. Had a couple of meals where we expected the usual reheated pre made type things, but to our delight dishes were fresh, hand made, and delivered piping hot! highly recommend this hotel and restaurant.
I have to say that I was very impressed with the hotel and staff during my recent stay at Best Western. The hotel lobby was great and spacious, and the food was quite tasty at the restaurant. The room had a lot of space for a family of 4 and it also had some recent minor updates to it. Overall I would have to say that the best part of the stay would be the exquisite service provided by Leanne. She seemed to just know it all and was a very fake charge kind of person. She had her hands in everything from managing rowdy kids from another hockey team, to organizing seating and comfort in the restaurant, to proactively ensuring rooms were up to par during checkout. She was assertive but also friendly while executing what seemed like a stressful role she played at this hotel. Best western is lucky to have her and the happiness that she showed, I bet she would even work there for free. Thanks for a great stay best western and Leanne!
My stay was excellent, even with the Covid protocols in place. Room was clean, restaurant was good, internet worked well, and the gym was great. Room was clean, with minimal service because of the Covid protocols.
This hotel is very clean , nice pool great parking . Close to the base for military families. Very convenient . The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom gave great water pressure . Conveniently located right off the highway .
We attended a special wedding recently on a family property outside of Pembroke. The Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre accommodated many of our family members. The service was superior with staff responsive and attending to all of our requests. The rooms were spacious and clean - the restaurant was convenient with excellent service, and extensive menu options. A special note of appreciation goes to Brandy with guest services and sales; and Lisa at the front desk; and Lori in the restaurant. Very professional. We highly recommend this hotel for all forms of travel.
Six of us stayed at this hotel for an ATV trip and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The staff was extremely accommodating, especially in the times we are in. The hotel manager, Lisa, checked in with us every day to make sure our stay was enjoyable and made us feel so welcome. She made us feel like her friends more so then guests!! The package included breakfast and dinner, which was awesome. We got to know the head chef, John, who was also extremely accommodating as well. He had a great friendly personality just like Lisa. The food was awesome, and the servers were exceptional. The hotel was very clean. A special thanks to Lisa and John for making this trip much more enjoyable then we expected.
Everything was perfect for our two day stay. The room smelled fresh, the linens were fresh, clean and crisp. The hotel was welcoming, super clean and practised safe procedures and cleaning. My hotel stay was part of the reason why I enjoyed my Atv riding holiday so much.
Booked the room for my son. Everything was great, staff went above and beyond, especially Jen! Small issue arose that Jen quickly rectified :) Was allowed to check in early which was really appreciated.
Enjoyed my stay. The rooms were spacious and clean. The walk-in shower was a bonus. I felt very comfortable. The staff were very courteous and the food was amazing. I would go back again. Highly recommended.
The overall hotel is very clean and well organized. Room service was very quick and very good. Pool was very clean and very warm. Second time I stayed here and have nothing to complain about. When in the area we will be coming back for sure.
Our stay at the Best Western was absolutely fabulous. We were there for our 40th anniversary and were made to feel very special. We will absolutely going back. We found the room to be comfortable and clean and I had the best sleep that I have had in a long time. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed sitting in the gazebo and swimming in the huge indoor pool. All covid guidelines were followed which is very important to us. Overall a great hotel with great staff. I would recommend staying there if you are in the area. We plan to make this an annual place to go for our anniversaries in the future.
Westwinds restaurant has great food. When I stay here, I look forward to breakfast. My bacon is cooked exactly to my liking and my eggs are always done to perfection. Spacious rooms with a walk-in shower. Great hotel.
I've been staying at this hotel for many years and every stay is always as awesome as the last. Covid has taken a toll on everyone, but Lisa, Brandy and the rest of the team seem to continue to give their 150% to ensure all their guests feel welcome and at home. Well done!
Great hotel. Super clean. Great food. We really enjoyed our stay. Pool was great for our family. Only small complaint would be our ac in room 220 was loud. This hotel was great and we'd highly recommend it.
Clean, comfortable and good value. Hot breakfast included at the on-site restaurant. Nice pool. Motorcyclists will like the bike washing station. A great front desk team and restaurant staff. The building is well maintained by an attentive staff.
The shower was not clean when I entered the room. Then after they had someone clean it I showered and the shower backed up with a pool of water. Tv didn't work properly. Was not worth paying $200 for.
Friendly staff, excellent restaurant and very nice sourounding property. I would strongly recommend this hotel. The outside patio with BBQs for guests to use is a very nice touch. We were traveling with our RV and the hotel accommodated both parking and electrical hookup to keep the batteries charged.
We always stay at the Best Western in Pembroke when we are atving and sledding. The motel is very user friendly as the recreational trails have road links to the motel. All the staff are friendly both at reception and the restaurant. Brandy at reception will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is to your satisfaction ! The rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is included and delicious. I would recommend everyone should stay at the Best Western. Bring the kids the pool is great !
Enjoyed our stay very much at the BW Pembroke. Easy access and a very nice property. Rooms were very clean and all of the staff were extremely helpful and always available. Lots of parking. We will be returning for sure .it's a great location if your visiting Algonquin Park or Bonechere .
A warm welcoming into a clean newer hotel. Rooms very clean and professional looking. All the ammundities were close by. The restaurant was confidently on site and had amazing food & service. The pool was clean and large enough for all to use.
Very convenient location to the highway. Covid had everything shut down, but we made the most of it. The lobby is and rooms are decorated quite nicely. Breakfast was great, and very easy to order with the pre-order sheets. We travelled from Calgary to Halifax and only stayed at BW. They were by far the best for the money.
We travelled as a family for March break with lockdowns our options were limited this year so we chose to stay somewhat local (45 mins from home) and enjoyed the hotels room, and restaurant both were cery clean and staff was very friendly and helpful would definitely go back again we had a fantastic time
Friendly staff, decent rooms, pool was amazing for a evening swim! The one staff member who check us in was absolutely amazing! I can't remember her name but she was amazing. Will be staying there every visit to pembroke, which we are there every few months.
We enjoyed our stay at Best Western Pembroke so much. The whole facility was clean and the staff was friendly and so willing to help. We will defiantly return the next time We need to stay in Pembroke.
We visit the Pembroke area about once a year, and this is our 'go to' Hotel because of its location, indoor pool, excellent attached restaurant and friendly staff. We don't even bother price-shopping other Hotels in the area because we know what to expect at this BW, and they never disappoint. A huge bonus is the excellent sit-down breakfast.
On Tuesday July 7th, 2020, my wife and I arrived at our booked destination, the medium size three floor, 88-guest room Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre situated at 1 International Drive in Pembroke, Ontario. This hotel is conveniently located near highways 41 and 17 and provides quick access to the Pembroke Welcome Centre, the Festival Hall Centre and the Algonquin College Pembroke Campus. Check-in was very easy and quick and getting our card/room keys was a breeze. Our spacious and well-maintained King Room on the 3rd floor had a small sitting area. Other attributes were a mini fridge, a coffee maker, a microwave, a flat HDTV, a desk with chair, and free Wi-Fi. We enjoyed the comfortable quality bedding with its many pillows. An adjoining private bathroom with a dark colored décor, had a large shower, basic toiletries, a hair dryer, and a large counter and sink. It was very quiet during our stay, as we were just a few guests in the entire building. I swam alone in the huge heated indoor swimming pool that recently reopened. Due to associated health concerns under Covid-19, the hot tub, the fitness centre, the Westwind Restaurant, the breakfast room and the bar/lounge were still temporarily closed. However, the next morning you could get a Grab & Go Breakfast, while the express checkout was also simple and we left our card/room keys in a plastic box that contained a cleansing liquid; then we got the Best Western invoice statement by E-mail. Because of the hotel quality, the cleanliness under the We Care Clean Program, the service and the organizational process, we would recommend Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre and would rate this stay as 4 stars.
Everything was average, room was clean, beds were comfortable (playpen was lumpy and not usable). The breakfast was horrible. The refrigerated food/drinks were served warm, milk tasted bad and muffins were very dry.
I've been staying at this location for work for a while and I couldn't have had a better experience. The staff and service are fantastic at this hotel. Thank you to everyone for making me feel right at home.
My next stay will be here again. The hotel was great and easy to get to.The staff here was very help full. Julie helped me out with the reservation and other questions that i had.Because of covid the grab and go breakfast was good.
Great place to stay , the staff Brandy Brown, Crystal Simms, and the restaurant staff Janet, Stephanie, Erin, Abby, Brad, and Justin all went above and beyond on making us have a great stay, house keeping Isabel made sure we received the kitchen tote for our use, a special thanks to manager Lisa
We recently stayed one night with the Snowmbile Package, room, dinner and breakfast. Everything was excellent. The hotel is right on the trail. The service was so good, from the check-in, the servers at the restaurant and the check-out. Very clean place.
Excellent place to stay. Very good people working at front desk, restaurant, and maintenance/housekeeping. I find the hotel and hotel rooms are very clean and spacious. Restaurant has a lot of great food offerings. Beer selection is pretty good as well. Very busy time of year for the hotel...a lot of snowmobile owners stay at hotel after riding the trails all day, but the hotel front desk employees always do their best to accommodate you.
Excellent hotel to stay at when snowmobiling in the Pembroke area. Located right on the trail with easy access to gas and food without requiring an automobile. Rooms are spacious, clean and well-maintained. The pool and hot tub are a welcome feature after a day of snowmobiling.
One night Stay, then moved Hotels, first I found that my room was in the basement, and okay maybe I wasn't completely under ground but half the room was under ground! Hockey Tournament in town for the weekend so the place was full of pre-pubescent teens. So there was lots of noise in the hallways, not something the staff can really control! Found the mattress was lumpy, so got only maybe 4 hours of sleep off and on! Over all the place is nice enough but could do with some renovations and upgrades. The Breakfast the next morning was excellent, the restaurant chefs made the perfect medium poached eggs! Bravo! Seriously can't say how many times I've been disappointed by places that can't poach an egg!
Crystal on front desk was absolutely the best. My mother passed away in Pembroke. She handled all of the reservations for my family. Everything went smoothly and she ensured that our stay was pleasant under very stressful circumstances
The hotel is a little dated but great service and hospitality. The breakfast is fantastic not like other hotels where it's a small mini breakfast. Well worth the price. The bed was very comfortable. The only negative thing is they have no USB ports so make sure you bring a plug adapter. But over all no complaints
Excellent access to snowmobile trails, great full breakfast, warm pool and hot tub to soak in at the end of the day. The poolside room was nice and we appreciated the seating arrangement for playing games in the evening.
Details... 1) 47 days before arrival, we booked a specific room type for 2 nights. 2) On the day we booked, my wife confirmed with the hotel that the booked room was available for our two selected nights. 3) On the arrival day and during check-in, we were told our room type was not available. 4) I proceeded to log into the Expedia portal and confirmed the booked room type and dates. 5) Presented confirmed room type and dates to the hotel clerk. 6) Hotel clerk begrudgingly adjusted to accommodate our first night only in the room type we chose. No second night was available even though we stated we would move rooms. 7) Was told by the hotel clerk that Expedia is not aware of room availability upon booking, even though we confirmed the day we booked. 8) Was told by the hotel clerk that guests are strongly encouraged to book directly with the hotel. 9) After checking in, I contacted Expedia in hopes of receiving a refund for the 2nd night. 10) The Expedia agent contacted the same clerk in hopes of finding our room type for the second night, hotel clerk was adamant about nothing being available. 11) The Expedia agent proceeded with a refund for the second night. 12) Upon checkout the next day, the manager that happen to be working the desk, miraculously found our room type available for a second night. We declined as we had already packed up. Rhetorical Questions... 1) How is Expedia not aware of what is available at the hotel? Should they not be since they're offering rooms? 2) Why would the hotel be encouraging guests to book directly through them and avoiding Expedia if they or their parent company has entered into a partnership with Expedia? I assume it's because the hotel wouldn't have to pay Expedia? 3) Since online booking through third parties is not likely to go away, why would hotels risk a bad review by not honouring their partnership with Expedia or more importantly, with their guests? Seems like a no brainer to keep customers happy regardless of how they booked. 4) Why didn't the manager or a clerk come see us to offer us the second night before we packed up to leave? Observations... 1) From what I could see, it didn't look like all of the rooms of the type we wanted were occupied. I only saw activity in 2 of the 10 rooms. 2) Upon leaving the hotel after our one and only night. I did a quick search on Expedia for availability in that room type for the second night and two were available. Strange. Conclusion... Other than the issues we had with the hotel honouring our Expedia booking, the hotel is nice and served our purposes well enough. We would stay again but will need to decide if certain new booking steps need to be taken to ensure a trouble-free check-in.
We attended the Best Western's New Year's Eve event. They had a very nice buffet dinner, a really good band and a comedy show. Plus a breakfast voucher. Really fun event! The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant and the pool side rooms are great!
Nice hotel. Nice room. Shower does not close was fighting flooding because when shower was built they did not put a door in. There needs to be towels at the pool and toilet is small. The room, pool and restaurant are all amazing besides the above listed
Restaurant staff was excellent with attention to detail! Will definitely book here again for business or pleasure. My only issue was with a shortage of front desk staff which always entailed a wait. Get your towels before the pool/hot tub at the front desk, which I found rather unusual, and a long wait while the only person finished phone call and served 2 people also waiting before I could get a towel assigned to my room.
Hotel is located right off the trans canada highway, easy in and out and lots of room to park as we were hauling a large enclosed trailer. Great service in check in and out. Beds were very comfortable and nice size room. Breakfast was very good, had choice to have free breakfast or a discount if ordering off menu which was a nice treat after being on the road for 11 days staying at hotels. There is an Irving Big Stop also located across the road for purchase of snacks as well as meals. Overall would stay here again if passing through.
I was surprised when I entered the lobby to see a grand piano and pool table along with a relaxing fireplace and lounge. The lobby was very inviting. Hotel staff were pleasant, friendly and very helpful. The rooms were a nice size with a mini kitchen counter microwave & small fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable.
lovely clean room great breakfast staff very friendly . lovely place to stay beautiful sunrise and picturess , would stay here again. pool was lovely but a little to much clorine, was a very pleasant stay over all. .
This property is a fantastic place to stay be it for buisness or pleasure! The rooms are well set up and have great mattresses which is important. They also have parking able to accommodate busses. Did I mention the restaurant? A gem! Great food and service. BTW, it's right across the street from the Irving truck stop. So it's a convenient place to reset the log.
Stayed last night with my Husband for our anniversary. We were pleasantly surprised on check in that they host a "Business Social" in the evening (6-7pm) with complimentary drinks and appetizers- they were delicious. Breakfast from a specific menu was included with the stay, or you could use your voucher towards a more expensive option. We both had coffee, juice, two eggs with bacon, home fries, and toast which was all included in the complimentary options. We stayed in a King room on the 3rd floor which included a mini-fridge and microwave. Room was clean. Water pressure was amazing! Pool and hot tub were working. Overall a great stay, and look forward to staying again in snowmobile season.
This Motel is a great spot to stay with your family. Lovely clean pool area. You can even book a room off the pool area. Perfect for younger kids. The staff is very friendly and helpful! They also have a restaurant in the Motel. Very convenient.
My stay was very enjoyable. The hot tub was hot but it could have used a little bit more water. The jets were spitting because the water level was too low spraying guests. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help make yhe stay enjoyable
Brandy Brown was very helpful and accommodating. She went above and beyond to help me and I'm so very grateful. I was having surgery and lived out of town with a lot of unknowns before and after surgery. She accommodated all of my needs and concerns, lessening my stress before and after surgery.
This is a great location. Friendly, well trained staff in all departments with solid management. Salt water pool. Great restaurant. Quiet location with an easy hop into the city. Will definitely book here again when we are in the region.
There were so many things I liked about the Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre: The lobby is beautiful and comfortable. We would meet here in the mornings before heading out to work; they continuously replenish the lemon-infused ice water by the reception desk; there is free coffee and tea in the lobby in the mornings; their free breakfast was very filling and tasty—the best that I've seen at this price point; my room was comfortable. More importantly, I wanted to mention the outstanding customer service that we received during our 4 nights here. During one dinner, when a server at the hotel restaurant noticed that my co-worker was not eating her meal, the server took the time and effort to inquired as to why she wasn't eating her food and went as far as to offer a different menu item when she found out that my co-worker did not like her food! Additionally, unbeknownst to us, we had left an unused laptop in the hotel lobby prior to leaving the hotel. Not knowing who it belonged to, Brandy, a/the manager at the hotel, emailed us, asking if we had left behind a laptop. After confirming that we had, Brandy continued email communication with us and helped to arrange to get the laptop sent back to us. She was super prompt with her email replies and was always ready and willing to help. I can't stress how reassuring it was to work with someone so willing to help remedy our problem! We will definitely return to this hotel if we ever were to have a reason to return to the area!
I stayed at this hotel for the annual Pembroke Fiddle and Step Dance Contest last weekend for a four day period. The restaurant was excellent, the room was quiet, internet was fast, and the amenities were great. Thanks again for a great stay!
While on our way to and from a fishing trip to northern Ontario we stopped here as our half way point. This is an awesome hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. There is a very nice restaurant and bar. We had breakfast and dinner twice. Our food was very good. They provide a nice free breakfast or you can upgrade and get a greater selection for a small additional charge. Dinner provides a full menu with lots of choices. Fish, beef, pork, pasta, salads and vegetarian selections. Also nice beer and wine selections with a full bar. All staff was extremely friendly. I found this hotel to be a very good value. Although we did not use it, there was a nice indoor swimming pool.
We've been staying at this hotel for 30 years now whenever we visit family in the area. On this visit, the hotel was clean, the staff was welcoming and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We will definitely return next year.
That hotel has easy access of the highway, is well maintained and looks inviting. The reception staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room is clean and has most conveniences. Air conditionner is very loud, but efficient. Found it a bit pricey.
It was very relaxing and friendly, the staff was amazing to help with any request, from front desk, house keeping and restaurant. Rooms were clean and very spacious with all amenities. The grounds were very beautiful and well manicured. The food was very good and even the kids menu had nice choices. I will stay here whenever in the area.
Very clean, attractive hotel. Obviously a choice for functions. Wonderful staff, large rooms, quiet and a pool to boot. The on site bar and restaurant were top notch. Close to the highway and easy access to downtown if you like.
The Best Western had fantastic staff and large rooms with comfortable beds. The fitness centre was amazing and the restaurant was very well priced. Location was great right of the highway. Would definitely recommend if you are staying in Pembroke.
the check in was quick and express check out option was extra fast. Enjoyed Free Grab & Go Breakfast and Free cofee. Staff was extremellly polite and helpful. I really enjoyeed my stay at Best Western Pembroke. The place is newly renovated and shows well ...
Our stay was very comfortable. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The staff is always so friendly. The pool and hot tub are even better with the attached outside sunbathing area. Wether for a family reunion or funeral, we are always very comfortable and taken care of.
Suite was very comfortable and clean. Good location near the highway and Pembroke downtown area. Very easy to travel in the downtown area and by the waterfront. Restaurant is great for breakfast and dinner. Restaurant staff are amazing people. Very friendly and courteous. They always remember your name if you are a reoccurring guest. Well equipped with facilities such as swimming pool, hot tub, and gym. Warm and friendly hotel staff that always makes it a point of talking with you by name. They are always welcoming and willing to accommodate. Very good housekeeping staff.
We stayed here for one night en route from Montreal to Northern Ontario. It was very comfortable and very clean and the woman at the front desk was very friendly. The pool and hot tub were nice. Instead of a standard continental breakfast, you are given a voucher to order off a limited menu at their onsite restaurant. (If you order off their full menu the voucher serves as a coupon) There's also a pool table. The room felt a little damp to me, maybe due to the pool or maybe due to the humidity, but we found the hotel quite suitable for us.
Attended a family wedding at this hotel, and he whole extended family stayed here. Check in was fast, and everything went smoothly. It's a very nicely decorated hotel; the rooms are clean & comfortable with a nice marble counter and a great open glass shower. The beds were comfy & the linens were nice quality. The AC was cold (it was an extremely hot day) and with the humidity it made things feel a bit “damp” in our lower level room, but it wasn't bad. The wifi worked well and was easy to connect to. We didn't have time to try the pool or restaurant, but other family members said they were great. My only complaint was that the layout of the hotel was a bit strange; from the reception hall we had to walk upstairs, go way down to the end of a hallway, go down the stairs and walk all the way back the lower hallway to our room. There was no way to get through on the lower level. But for a regular hotel stay this wouldn't be an issue. All in all, a good stay, and a nice hotel!
Great location, locked grassy compound for bikes (bring kickstand plate) indoor pool, great rooms (some face bike compound) excellent Italian restaurant & bar in hotel, great rates (discount for 4 or more rooms).
Had a great stay at the Best Western in Pembroke. would loved to have stayed longer and taken advantaged of the saunas and pool. bed was comfy and big. breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend it to stay if in the area.
Lovely landscaping. Great rooms. Nice pool and pool and hot tub. Very very clean!!! Friendly staff. Great food. Beautiful lobby. We also found it very quiet we couldnco hear neighbours or doors shutting.
Ok for what it is. I can hear the conversations from both sides as well as from the corridor. The place smells a bit musky probably because of the damp from the pool. All the staff were really helpful and the freshly prepared breakfast has a good variety to choose from.
Nicely renovated. And they allow dogs! Thanks! They have the only EV charger for Teslas in town. They steak supper is very good for a extremely reasonable price. However the coffee in the restaurant could be better. Perhaps a cappuccino machine?
I choose this Motel in the area because I feel it is the best value for our time together. We choose a room directly off the pool area. Perfect for kids. The restaurant has a good selection of meals. This Motel also has activities for children on March break. They also had an Easter egg hunt. Fabulous Motel for family.
Travelling with pets & after 6 days landed here. Such a lovely comfortable hotel. The “grab & go” breakfast is such a great option for those leaving earlier than restaurant opening or travelling with pets. Such a comfortable stay was really appreciated! Highly recommend staying here.
Liked the hotel. Great staff. Everything was clean. I took one owl off b/c pool is a bit dated, and I would suggest not getting a pool view room. Looks like it was an outdoor pool and they built a cover over it that comes up to meet the rooms on one side.
The hotel is right of Hwy 17 across from a truck stop where you can gas up your vehicle. There is a pool, hot tub, a gym, a restaurant that opens at 06:00 for early risers. The a/c fan was a little loud in the room but the white noise helped me sleep. It isn't far from downtown Pembroke. The Westwind Restaurant was excellent with great food. The staff is friendly and cheerful.
The hotel is a bit old, but is very well maintained and very clean throughout. The rooms are relatively large and quite comfortable. The wi-fi was consistently good in the room, and the room was quiet during the evening. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a tad expensive, but well worth it. A very nice stay, and I would book this hotel again.
Nice looking hotel, with many amenities. However me and my wife stayed in the luxury king suite with jetted tub which sounds great. However, the fact is it's located right beside a noisy pool and the jetted tub was broken. Later that night we decided to go for drinks at the lounge where we left after one poorly made cocktail. Very nice staff, and overall the hotel we ok
Good location, great breakfast, nice GYM. Clean rooms. I would recommend it, lots of parking. Pool table in the lobby area. Multiple exits of building for easier access to your car.. really nice showers
You can't go wrong. As I lay here in bed at this hotel, I think of the everything that has gone on here. Immediately from when we checked in, the staff was kind and had nothing but smiles and outstanding service. Thank you Betty. The pool and hot tub were great. The rooms clean and generally free of over scented cleaning product. You can't go wrong. We will be back
My stay with 3 young kids was great. The amenities are Great, clean comfortable rooms. Excellent staff and delicious breakfast made for stress free weekend! Thx BW staff, you are all fabulous! Will b back!!
i recently stayed at this hotel on the weekend and will be returning in the near future. Exceptional customer service from the time we checked in to our check out. Staff at the front desk and the restaurant went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. The food at the restaurant was tasty and plentiful. Thank you
We sledded there early Feb. The hotel is very nice and inviting. The staff go out of their way to welcome you and ensure your stay is top notch. One of the sledders with us had broken his eye glasses earlier on route. He asked the lady at the front desk where the closest optometrist is. Without skipping a beat, staff drove him to the optometrist and his glasses were fixed asap . Unreal talk about going over and above... we were there when the previous review had crashed her sled and we saw first hand the care and concern she was given by staff. Hope she is okay..just a big thanks to all of you. Our stay was the "greatiest"
Excellent Place to stay with a pool, whirlpool, restaurant and great service. Clean and comfortable and the location is great right next to highway 17 which allows quick and easy assess to the major highway no matter where you are headed too.
Excellent hotel. Very clean. Excellent restaurant and lounge. Food is very good. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The Guest Services Manager went out of her way to accommodate my quick reservation request for two weeks.
Our atom hockey team recently stayed at this hotel for a tournament. Brandy was our reservation coordinator and she had everything organized well in advance of our visit. Due to our game schedule, a number of families cancelled a night of their reservations less than a week before the tournament and we didn't face any issues or penalties. The rooms were clean and spacious, as was our hospitality suite, which was located close to our rooms and was the perfect place for the team to gather for a meal. The pool and breakfast buffet were both great. Upon check-in, each family was handed a list of room numbers for all team numbers. This was extremely helpful and much appreciated. One of our parents indicated that in her +20 years of competitive hockey experiences, she had never received such a list. She was VERY impressed! We will definitely recommend this hotel in the future and plan to use it if we are in town again.
Do to unforeseen mechanical issues we had to cut our trip short by one day and when we were checking out we were told that there would be no refund for the day we had to cancel. Anytime we go to Pembroke we always stay at the Best Western and have always been very satisfied but this time we were not so satisfied. We would like to continue staying at the Best Western. Lets work together for a mutually beneficial experience for both parties. Thanks
Recently stayed at this hotel for a team event. Hotel was clean, had great amenities and the hotel staff went above and beyond our needs. Kids had a great time in the pool. Great visit overall and would go back again!
awesome hotel, large, clean and modern rooms. Beautiful fitness center with very nice pool area. conveniently just off the road with decent included breakfast. Restaurant is adequate to get a decent supper.
Had the opportunity to stay at this Best Western (just off TransCanada Hwy 17) and it was a great move on our (wife and I). As retired Veteran of Cdn Forces we were given government rate. The room issued to us was room 210. This room is at the top of our list if and when we come back, Ice machine outside your door, and back door opens to the pool! We took advantage of the pool, and the breakfast at the Westwind which was great. All staff were professional and courteous. Only one observation there were no handicap buttons to get into our corridor.
The Best Western Pembroke is a great hotel with all the amenities need to support the business traveler in one place. It has conference center, individual meeting rooms, full gym, pool and excellent restaurant/bar. It is the perfect place for networking, negotiating, presenting, or otherwise supporting your clients needs. It is located on the "Trans-Canada Highway" that allows quick access to all local businesses. The staff is friendly and attentive to the your needs. I travel 80% of my time for business and this hotel is the best choice for doing business in the area.
Con- The microwave was on an eye level with our 2 year old great granddaughter. And it was very easy for her to move around. The wall-mounted heater/ac unit was old and very noisy. Pro- the desk staff, both Wednesday night and Thursday morning Dec. 12-13 were extremely helpful and friendly.
The Best Western Pembroke is a very nice hotel with a full gym and nice pool. The Westwinds restaurant is staffed by some wonderful staff as is the hotel. I have been here a few times when traveling for business to CFB Petawawa and I will not hesitate to do so again.
We recently attended a hockey tournament for our bantam player and the team booked the Best Western. I was so impressed with how smooth everything went; from check-in, breakfast (great hot buffet), rooms (larger than most) our stay, the relaxing lobby, and check-out! I understand they have been doing this for sometime and it really shows! I would stay at this hotel again and again. We recently got a puppy and for $20 she was able to join us. She even got a gift bag with dog treats, a blanket and scoop bags. What a nice touch. Everyone we dealt with were so amazingly accommodating and always with a smile - and sometimes that's hard with 14yr old busy, loud, boys! Kudos Best Western!
Stayed here two years in a row and hopefully will not be back anytime in the future. First stay was this time last year and we were told that the hotel had a strict no smoking policy... well we checked into our room and there was an overwhelming smell of smoke. We went to the front desk to let them know and they said because everyone had not checked in yet they could not move us. We had to have all of the bedding, the linens and even the shower curtain changed as they all smelled of smoke. We complained on several occasions and the only option we were given was to have them bring in an industrial machine to clean the air. They did this during the day while we were out. Upon our return the smell of smoke was masked by the strong smell of some type of cleaner. Again we complained and nothing was done. When I returned home I left two messages and sent emails to the manger without a single reply. This trip when we checked in we noticed that the hallways were filthy as were the carpets in our room. Last year we were given coupons to have a nice breakfast in the hotel restaurant but not this year, our team had to eat in the lobby and have a cold buffet while we watch other guest be give their vouchers for the nice restaurant. We are paying guests too but I guess we don't count. I would not recommend this hotel for your Pembroke stay!!!!
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's just off the highway and a quick drive to downtown. Upon check-in my husband requested a quiet area where he could meet with a few people. They couldn't have been more accommodating. Our room was large, very clean, and had a nice sitting area. Breakfast was good. The salt water pool is a nice size. My only complaint was that our keys were hit and miss. I had to have them changed numerous times.
We are greeted warmly and professionally, and are treated like VIPs during every stay! Rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant offers great food served with a smile! The Pembroke Fitness Centre has a wide selection of equipment and an excellent variety in daily workout classes with helpful teachers. I also love the salt-water pool, the hot-tub and sauna! It's always a treat to stay at the Best Western in Pemboke! Thank you to all staff for always making my visits so enjoyable!
Great place to stay. Friendly service all the way around!! Very clean & well kept!! The rooms are very well climate & at your control. Restaurant is fantastic & very accommodating to your diet needs. If passing through well worth the stop.
Stayed here two nights for work. It's probably just a little bit nicer than average for the class of hotel. Decent value at the corporate rate we got. Closer to the highway than town. Hot breakfast in the restaurant was pretty decent - table service rather than a buffet is a nice touch. Good sized room. The small kitchenette with fridge was a nice touch for me. Only down side is it's not super close to downtown but that's likely not an issue if you have a car.
they have replaced the chlorine based indoor pool to salt water.love that,as it no longer stings my eyes, and dyies my suits ( any choline pool, not just this one). They updated pool area wich is really nice. I love going here because its quiet and fun and clean. I love the hot tub. I bring my two kids a few tines a week. Staff are always friendly and there if you have questions. I had obe issue once. I sent my 17 year old son with his girlfriend and my two kids. They let them in and the kids were all in the pool 2 minutes when a class came in and kicked them out. The kids were upset. Well i called right away and they gave me 4 frer passes, they dealt with me promptly and very courteously and appologized profusely. While my kids where disappointed they were happy they got to go again.
We love staying at this hotel , Crystal Simms, Brandy Brown, Meghan James, Lisa Stanfield work extra hard to get us the room we want, my husband has special dietary needs so the restaurant staff Crystal, Janet, Abby, Allison, Michaela,Emily, Jessalina, Tedra, Lindsay, Haley, Justin, Lucas, Noah all do foods he can eat and strives to make sure he has it weekly Isabel head housekeeper makes sure we have the most comfort possible We love staying here and we stay regularly, This is our favorite Hotel Tom and Sue Wells
The check in was quick. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. A very nice ambiance to this hotel as soon as you come in. Very clean room and well appointed. Comfy bed and quiet. Got vouchers for breakfast at the restaurant. A very good breakfast and great staff too! Will def return when in the area!
Restaurant was busy, but we were served promptly and the food was very good. The fish fillet sandwiches had fillets as large as those served as fish and chips, and were very good. Prices were very reasonable.
We stayed with another couple for 3 nights - a bit of a reunion. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating - nothing was too much trouble. The room was a good size, beds were very comfortable - with good views of the countryside. The Westwinds restaurant staff were excellent! The food and drinks were very good, and reasonably priced. The complimentary hot cooked breakfast was a big bonus - we had expected only a continental brkfst. Overall very good value for money. A few areas for improvement: the ice machine on the level 3 was "near death" - one chunk of ice per heartbeat - the main floor machine worked well. The in room air conditioner - while maintaining good temperature. was somewhat noisy - and could use an upgrade. We would definitely return!
We're staying 2nights before moving on but added a day as happy here. Room was big and bed comfortable. Wet room ideal as my husband is blind. Loved the pool which was easily accessible. Only down side was breakfast which was okay but not inspiring. Would certainly stay here again. Good value.
My family and I have stayed at this hotel many times over 30 years. I was very pleased with the updates that have taken place since coming here two years ago, including a complete bathroom reno. I did notice, however, that the tap at the bathroom sink only stays in the middle - It cannot be placed to either completely cold or hot. I also found it odd that there was no line in the shower to hang wet swimsuits as many other hotels have now adapted. We received vouchers for breakfast for each morning which was mediocre in my opinion. It would be nice to have a buffet option on Sunday. The staff, especially the housekeepers, were very friendly and did a great job tidying our room. This hotel will always be my first choice when staying in Pembroke.
I liked everything for my stay but chose the bed the ac blew on a little cool sometimes no washer and dryer on site but they have a same day cleaning service found the cost to be be very reasonable a small and cosy resturant bar ,staff was very attentive but not smothering and food was very good and good value for what I received
Hotel is very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff is very good. Food was excellent, with great local beer available. The location isn't bad. It is just off highway 17, with approximately 15 minutes to the small downtown are of Pembroke, which brings you very close to the beautiful river front, with parks and other recreational things to do.
This property is in serious need of upgrading. The room was drab, the bathroom tiny and dreary, the sheets were poor as were the pillows. The dining room was equally depressing all brown and dark. We could not believe the cutlery! It was so old it looked like something discarded from a cottage! Add to that the bent teapot. We could not wait to leave. So much so, we left without using the breakfast vouchers. Obviously money had been spent on the lobby and the grounds. It seems they are more interested in attracting weddings than overnight guests. This was our last stop on a five day road trip and it was a real “downer”. Overall it was the poorest value for money we have had in years! In fact, we would not accept a free night here if offered!
Business trip. Got a great room on main floor. Modern and clean. Came with mini fridge and microwave which is great and unusual. Slept great. Restaurant was good with excellent service. Check in was a bit slow with just one person handling the check ins which would normally be fine but got behind a very talkative guest.
Stayed for 1 night , check in effortless and receptionist very helpful - gave us a downtown car pass! Room as expected with a small sink, fridge and microwave, bathroom functional. Not huge but clean. I used the pool again not huge but clean. We had the $6 voucher for breakfast, not expecting much we were pleasantly surprised. Opted for 2 eggs, bacon , toast, preserves and tea = $6 each! we also ordered juice that was extra $2, in the end we paid $4.20 the cheapest breakfast we've had since being here and it was fresh and tasty.
Everything you could ask for in a small town in the heart of the gorgeous Ottawa Valley: exceptional accommodations; friendly and prompt hotel staff; and a restaurant boasting not just incredible food in a tier above all others in the area, but servers and bar tenders who are ridiculously caring, kind and genuine. My time here was, without exaggerating, the absolute best experience I have ever had at a hotel.
I've been traveling to the Pembroke area at least one a year for a loooong time. The Best Western Pembroke was always clean and comfortable, but is even better thanks to renovations over the last few years. The lobby area and pool are bright and clean. The rooms have been upgraded and are great. The dining room (food and staff) is great. Hotel employees are very helpful and always pleasant. The attached gym is a great spot to sneak in a workout, especially if you're in town for a few days. This is definitely a great hotel for business or family trips!
Stayed here recently for one night. Premises were ok but seemed quite dark and a bit dreary. Room itself was small and relatively well appointed with microwave, coffee maker etc. Bathroom could have used a bit of work. With my room, I was given a coupon for a free breakfast or $6 in value towards a more extensive meal. Turned out that the $6 ‘free' breakfast meals were quite basic and I had to order a more costly meal. Definitely not a real free breakfast unless you really don't eat much. Not a horrible stay, but on any return trip, I might try out the competition across the street that looks much newer. One bonus was the Big Stop restaurant right across the street. You can't go wrong for a great meal there.
If you've seen one BW hotel room in remotes parts of …. anywhere really, you'll have that same experience here… A room with a bed, a couple lamps, a desk, TV, bathroom etc… The only part that drove me insane was the bathroom fan sounded like a MAC truck. You can make the walls look pretty but if you don't have a good foundation it all starts to crumple pretty fast.
Stayed for business - nice hotel, very good staff. Centrally located for me to visit clients. Didn't try the restaurant for breakfast, but will give it a shot next time. Fitness room seemed very well equipped.
Good facility with ample parking, room selection, pool, and lounge/dining area. Staff at check-in and check-out were very friendly. Clean facility. Dinner food was good. Breakfast voucher included with room that provides a free or reduced breakfast price. Fair pricing for rooms and food and beverage. There was issues two of the three mornings with speed of service at breakfast with waits exceeding 45-60 minutes. Food service staff made the best of a ‘chef' issue. Stayed several times before and this is definitely not the norm. There is a Irving Truck Stop across the road with excellent breakfast service. Overall a good facility and will stay again.
The inn is just off Hwy 17 which makes it easy for travellers coming and going. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was included and we were pleasantly surprised to find we were to order off the menu rather than have a buffet. Staff at reception won't the friendliest but the restaurant staff made up for them.
Great hotel. Clean rooms and overall hotel . Staff are friendly and very accommodating to requests if any. Dining room has a new menu and some interesting wine choices. I use a wheel chair and their accessible rooms are TRULY accessible. The hotel has just added new automatic doors to side entrance which was needed.
Hello I had the pleasure of staying at the bw in Pembroke Ont.Last year and I was greeted with the up most respect and courtesy and that is why I gave them five star.I would recommend them to anyone I know thank you for the service.Yours truly Rudy
Great conference with great service. The rooms were ready upon arrival and the conference room was set to the exact requirements. The in conference room services for food and IT were as requested with amazing service and on time delivery. Freshness and display were perfect. Thanks
Clean, appearance is nice. Hotel is fairly new so everything looked nice. Bed was average, pillows a little lumpy. Only negative is strong chorline smell from pool in lobby. Breakfast was well cooked, got a voucher everyday for breakfast. Voucher breakfast menus was limited but you could add to it for a small cost
Great service, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had extra little touches, like the decoratively folded towels in the bathroom. The pool was a little dated, but very enjoyable and it was saltwater, loved it. The location of the room was close to the pool, very convenient. Loved that we could see our vehicle from the room. Free breakfast was made to order and included coffee!! The price of the room was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area!!
Been here for over a month and have to say room are clean food verry good And rene the cook is pretty good at going out of menu for us since we eat here everynight. All the girls at restaurant all verry nice especialy Janet.
Great location for business trip - I LOVED the comfortable bed, the quiet room, excellent staff, warm saltwater pool, great food at the restaurant (& gluten free)! I just stayed there 3 nights in a row, had been there before and would definitely goo again... Worth the extra cost for the amenities and convenience!
The kitchen in this hotel needs a new stove which has to be installed for noon. To get it done, the work has to start at 4 am. Lucky me - the assembly began in the hallway right behind my headboard - banging, thuds, yelling. Two calls to the front desk at 4am and 5 am did nothing. This was no surprise to the staff - could they not have placed me in a different room from the outset???? I need a nap!
A long time favourite in Pembroke. A good hearty breakfast is included in the Westwinds restaurant, or can be obtained with a small supplement for those with very large appetites. The restaurant wait staff are attentive. The rooms are clean and spacious. The tv can be a little frustrating but that is my only complaint. I generally don't used it but the fitness center is much better equipped than most hotel gyms.
We stayed for a dinner function for my husband's job. Rooms are standard, bed was very comfortable...but the room included a six dollar voucher for breakfast which ended up being surprisingly fabulous! Best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. Much better than the usual fake eggs and make your own toast that most hotels serve. Right off highway 17 so not far out of the way when you are traveling. All staff were very pleasant. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Chef Rene is great he goes out of his way to make special orders, Crystal- works front desk she's great very helpful, restaurant staff , Janet, Anastasia, Jesslina, Kali, Emily they strive to make sure you are happy
We had an excellent Stay at the Best Western in Pembroke Ontario. We used our Best Western Rewards Points so the value was even greater. It doesn't matter what Best Western we stay at, the overall experience is great with the staff being extremely pleasant!
Very clean, comfortable, very friendly staff We spend New Year's Eve there with a bunch of our friends and had a great time. We all had supper at their restaurant "Westwinds" and went downstairs were the band "Sidewinder" was playing. The food was very good and the price was reasonable. We went there last year also. Can't wait to book for next year. Hopefully the same band Will be playing.
Very satisfied with BW Pembrooke; when you travel 1350 km to go visit your family for Christmas you need a good place to sleep in between. My husband was very pleased with breakfast and said '' This is the best breakfast I've had in a hotel, much better than the usual Continental''.
My family met here for 2 nights to enjoy a family Christmas together. The kids enjoyed the pool while we got to relax. The staff were amazing and helped us have an incredible Christmas. We'll be back.
With all the craziness of the Christmas season, hubby and I decided to run away from home for the night. We stayed at the Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre as it's not far from home but far enough! They are in the process of doing some renovations/construction at the front entrance. They have done a lot of work this past year and it's made a really nice difference. Our room was a standard room. We really liked the bar-type set up with the bar fridge and sink between the area where the beds were and the bathroom...nice touch! The bed was comfortable and there were lots of pillows. The room was quiet but we did have some challenges with getting the heat to come on. We called down to the front desk and they were very quick to send a Maintenance person up and after he fiddled with it for a little bit and then left to find out about moving us, the heat came on. We were impressed with how quickly they responded to our problem. We have a feeling that maybe this was a room that hadn't been used in a while because the clock radio was still set for the old time so we spent our visit thinking it was an hour later than it actually was *smiling* We went to the hotel restaurant, Westwinds, for dinner. We had no complaints about our meals, the food was well cooked but admittedly the presentation of the plates was pretty boring. We haven't been to Westwinds in quite some time and while we enjoyed the taste of our dinner, we don't think we would go back for a dinner out on the town. As I've already said, the food was good, it was just boring. We had breakfast at the Westwinds, it was included in our package. Breakfast was the same; it tasted good but the presentation was dulll. Yes, we used the indoor pool and hot tub and we were pleased with both. We also used the gym both days and we can't make enough positive comments about the gym. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The equipment was clean and well maintained. Would we go back to the Best Western...yes, we just might make other arrangements for dinner.
Everything, especially the warm and welcoming staff was wonderful. Delicious breakfast and dinner. The hotel is beautifully decorated for Christmas. There is a 20 foot real tree in the gorgeous lobby. You don't see that every day! I will be back and I highly recommend this hotel.
Our room was nice with a very modern bathroom. We arrived on a snowy day so it was nice not to have to leave the hotel to go out again for supper. The next morning we had breakfast in the same restaurant but had to wait a fair amount of time as there was only one person cooking and there were quite a few people in the dining room. The breakfast was excellent but it delayed our departure. Having the gas stations right across the street was also handy.
Stayed here in October 2017, Very clean and nice hotel, restaurant is also great. location is perfect. and a husky gas station is across the street with a great breakfast. large parking lot and kitchenette rooms available, never made it to the pool
Toilets in bathrooms need to be change for more modern and bigger, They are too small and very uncomfortable. Fitness center good, need some upgrades. Nice new decoration in common areas. Convenient to have a restaurant in the Hotel.
Motel was clean, nice rooms, great location. Staff was very nice but the restaurant was not very good. Pool was too busy, with guests and with classes from the community. I think they should get a new chef.
Overall very happy with my stay, hot tub disappointing as poor jets and need to reset the switch after 5 minutes, not the usual 20 minutes in most hotels. Chemicals highly used in the hot tub so may cause respiratory reactions if someone is sensitive. Pool temperature was very pleasant. Pool area is off limits at least twice daily for water aerobics, kids were a little disappointed but survived.
It was comfortable and Best Western Pembroke had all the amenities we wanted. My daughter said the exercise room was super with more than just the basic exercise equipment. She was very happy with this. The pool was very nice, but the hot tub was broken. We liked the smorgasbord breakfast at the previous Peterborough Best Western we stayed at the night before. Overall other than the main entrance being renovated, which we could not go in and the breakfast being a bit of a let down from previous Best Western everything was clean and comfortable.
Everything is good here , I try to stay here every time i'm in Pembroke , the staff is friendly and love to help and that makes me feel at home . I would tell al of my friends to stay here because of al the amenities no need to leave to eat, swim or exercise it's all here Wow!
I had a one night stay at this hotel and this is my first time EVER writing a review. I just had to let everyone know what a great hotel this was! Right off the highway, clean and thr beds are super comfy! I was extremely impressed with the shower pressure and the size if it. The room itself was large and fit 4 people comfortable. For such a small town this hotel was by far the best average hotel I've stayed at. We will be back!
Excellent service, beautiful and comfortable room with great breakfasts included. There is a bit of construction going on outside (Oct 2017) and it is elegant inside. Pembroke is a beautiful and friendly little city!
Clean, modern, great location. Just far enough from the highway to get away from road noise, close enough for easy access. I called the hotel desk for a price, checked the website, and phoned the 1-800 number asking for the same thing: One night, senior's discount, two people, no pets. And I got three different prices. The best was the one offered from the front desk. So do some homework and save some money.
Had a lovely stay ... even though it was only one night we will definitely stay there again. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The only thing negative was that the room smelled very stale when we arrived. It would have been nicer if the room was fresher. We just cranked the fan and air conditioner on when we left the room and when we returned later that evening it was fine. Looking forward to staying there in the winter.
We booked at this location in late July 2017, over two months in advance. For this, we used 20,000 BW points to book the room and asked for one the third floor, but were put in a room on the first floor (where, of course, one hears more noise). We were told at the front desk that the hotel was fully booked for the night. Even though we had been regular customers there for the past eight years, apparently our business hasn't been important to them. Other BWs do give customers good rooms, even when they book on points. Therefore, we won't be returning to the BW-Pembroke and are warning others who are collecting points with BW to think twice before using them to book a room at this location.
very nice motel, very clean and friendly staff, will stay there again when in the area, well worth every dollar for paid for my room, very quiet and well maintained. the breakfast buffet could have some improvement but it was ok
Stayed there last night and the room was a normal hotel room although I did have a fridge and microwave which was nice. Also a small bar sink which would have been good if there were two traveling. The check in and check out went smoothly The front desk stay were funny and friendly. The woman cleaning the room seemed chatty too. You get a voucher for breakfast in the restaurant and I found the breakfast and the setting very good. I just wished I had thought to eat there the night before. I tend not to think of hotel restaurants for supper but suspect it would have been good. Also the servers were positive and good as well. Overall a great experience and I started my day in a great mood after a good breakfast and good interaction with the staff.
Our wedding was held at the Best Western Pembroke in August 2017 and we could not be more pleased with the venue and all of the staff! Meghan helped us every step of the way and was very flexible and accommodating with all of our requests. She made the planning process so easy for us and the whole team did a great job on the day of! The food was delicious and they made sure all of our needs were met. Everyone went above and beyond so we didn't have to worry about a thing! Our 1-bedroom suite was clean and comfortable and all of our guests were very happy with their rooms and the service they received as well! I would highly recommend this venue for anyone hosting a special event. Thank you Best Western!!
Customer service, the room and breakfast was excellent. Due to unforeseen circomstances due to needing road side assistance, we had to find a hotel to stay overnight. She was so nice and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable and enjoyed a gread breakfast in the morning. Very nice, clean and friendly place. Highly recommend it.
Hotel rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly. The restaurant on the other hand staff not as friendly and their was no breakfast buffet as we were told. The server told us that they need at least 150 guest to have a buffet? I then asked her how many gust stayed at the hotel last night she told us 148 me and my wife burst out laughing. Lol The server did not see the humor. We order our breakfast of the free section of the menu with our voucher no home fries come with the breakfast it's an extra $4 each. Breakfast arrives and are eggs are not the way we ordered and the bacon as no meat Fat Only. We ate what we could paid the difference and went across the street at THE BIG STOP truck stop to have a real breafast.
The Best Western Inn is convenient, with comfortable rooms. The air conditioning system is loud but I had no difficulty sleeping as the bed was comfortable. The hotel has been well-updated and the grounds are exceptional. The breakfast voucher makes breakfast free, but this may be a temporary offer.
We had a wonderful stay in Pembroke Being from the USA everyone was so helpful. Rooms were clean. We could keep our food in the refrigerator and microwave what we needed. The only thing we would do differently is not have our room by the pool. Kids screaming having fun until 10pm Starring very early in the morning. Always a smile and helpful, hand from staff. Breakfast was wonderful. Would stay again. Thank you
We recently spent 5 nights at the Best Western Hotel in Pembroke, Ontario. We had a cheerful greeting and the front desk staff were always very helpful. We had reserved a room with a tub in the bathroom but the room assigned to us only had a shower. The girl scurried around to change some other reservations and got us the last room available with a tub. Breakfast was included and was good. Our room had no outside view, we looked out to the pool and part of the front foyer so we had to keep our drapes pulled. I must say there was never a time that we were bothered by noise. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped. This hotel is close to the highway so convenient for travellers. It is also across the road from an Irving gas station and Big Stop Restaurant. Not that convenient to the down town core but we didn't mind the short drive to attend the fiddle and step dancing contest.
Nice hotel, well located just off the 17, comfortable clean rooms, available business services such as printing, fax, computer. Excellent food in restaurant. Parking with various access points to room locations.
Outstanding location. I had not been to this location for a few years. Was pleasently surprised when I checked in.. Rooms were fantastic. My coworkers agree with my statement. Staff over and above, Restaurant and Bar was top notch. Met with management to commend them on doing everything right. Thank you for your commitment to be on top of the list for a great location to stay. Anyone passing by and not checking this out will miss out on warm homestyle experience. Gilles Laporte
quiet area, easy to get around, 2 night comfortable stay, beds were AMAZING had a great sleep. small bathroom, pool was clean and fun to use, outside patio was nice and well kept. would stay here again :)
Great location! We were in town getting our daughter settled into college. Friendly front desk, room was very spacious and clean! Included breakfast at the attached restaurant. Would definitely stay there again!
Booked the suite for my family of 4. Loved the separate bedroom, and the kids thought it was great to be able to sleep on the sofa bed in the 'living room'. Loved the table as well to play board games before bedtime!
We stayed here for a night while doing Ontario Highlands Motorcycle tour. It is an average hotel . It does require some updates for the rooms and outside appearance. When breakfast included it should not be restricted to have only some selections.
The rooms, restaurant, service and pool were all excellent. The pet fee was reasonable and the rooms allocated to pets were the same standard as the rest of the rooms in the hotel. The stay was quiet and very enjoyable. Everything is clean and well maintained I have stayed here many times in the past 20 years. The upgrade that was done recently is very nice. The beds are some of the most comfortable we have experienced in the US or Canada. The rooms are on the high end of the scale for the area. We had no problem with that because this hotel is such a pleasant place to stay.
The service was excellent, the room was clean, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great! We had a small incident with a room service employee entering our room even though the "do not disturb" sign was on the door. The woman at the front desk resolved the issue immediately and offered us a discount on our bill. This will definitely be our go-to hotel for quick getaways!
After 20 years, finally had an opportunity to return to the Best Western Pembroke Inn & Conference Centre - a most pleasant experience and surprise to return to. Very clean, wonderfully helpful staff, and a restorative stay, not to mention great value, very tasty meals at the in-house Westwinds Restaurant, a well equipped fitness facility and pool. A lovely respite after a 7 hour day on the road!
A nice clean and comfortable stay. Everything you require is on site and there is no need to leaves the area of the hotel. The restaurant serves up an eclectic array of acceptable menu items. i always enjoy the BW.
This is a decent hotel, with average rooms. Nothing special, a typical Best Western really, with great staff. It is, however, really isolated. It is right on the outskirts of Pembroke (itself nothing special), and you share the location with a Holiday Inn Express and a petrol station. The complementary breakfast is very good.
Great hotel with plenty of space. Excellent stay for my family. Would certainly stay again when traveling into the area. Rooms were modern and clean. Pool was refreshing for the kids. The outside patio area was a great place to have dinner with plenty of space to move around.
This is a very nice clean hotel. The staff was also super great. They were smiling as we entered, and when we had to cancel our second night there was no problem doing this. The breakfast at the hotel was also great.
Hotel was very very clean staff was very helpful with the need of towels the West Winds Restaurant has amazing food. Would go back just for the food Great place to stay and shop 24/7 restaurant right across the street was handy cant wait to go back
Planning to arrive around midnight on a road trip, phoned them and they kept the last room for us, although all hotels in the area were booked. The hotel is clean, up to date, excellent breakfast. Our room had a very comfortable murphy bed, as it is also used as a conference place. Prashanti at the front desk was very helpful.
What can I say other than we had the most amazing experience!! We were in a bind waiting for our house sale to go through and also having to deal with our loving dog being given a short time to live. The staff went above and beyond helping us and were so friendly!! And they gave us a top notch clean room and excellent food at the in hotel restaurant. I do not hesitate recommending this hotel to family and friends!! Our dog was even given the rock star treatment as well!! Thank you!!
I've been staying at this hotel for many years and it has never disappointed me. Always clean, fantastic staff and great food. Full size gym and indoor pool give this hotel the added touch. I travel for business, and I've stayed in all the hotels in Pembroke. By far, this hotel is the best in town.
Stayed at the Pembroke BW for a family wedding on site. Ceremony on the grounds - lovely gazebo for ceremony. Would've been nicer to be a bit further from parking lot. Staff were so accommodating - great to have had the cocktails in the main area. Hall for dinner and reception, dance good size. Quality of food was great - amazing white wine sauce for the chicken. Desserts were great and midnight pizza was awesome!
There's free 24/7 pool table and a decent sized pool and hot tub that open till 10pm. The facilities are clean in general. The room is in decent size, no complains. BW is famous for it's breakfast buffet but mind you, at Pembroke location, is it NOT served in buffet style. Instead, a voucher is given upon check in. The wait for breakfast is long (20-25 mins) and I got a melted plastic wrap in my food. Not a good experience.
The pool was clean and great to use. As was the hot tub. The staff goes beyond to make your stay a good one. The business center was useful and open late. The food at the restaurant was great and the suppertime special was tasty.
The restaurant manager went out of her way to help me and my service dog! A big thankyou to all restaurant staff. My breakfast was made to perfection . We were looked after very well. The rooms are quiet
Hotel had a good rating, but that was not my experience. Air quality in room was very bad. My mother is elderly and does not like to be cold so I turned heat up to 25, but air was making me sick (nauseous) so I had to turn on the fan & leave it on all night, which was very noisy, and made the air just bearable. (People in room next to us, said their air was also bad, and fan noisy too.) Other things that they need to do to improve are: I was looking forward to a bath, but after getting my Mom & our luggage into room, discovered we only had a shower, but as I did not want to have to move her I did not ask for a change. However, I think check-in-clerks should ask if you want a tub or if shower only room is ok. With the lights turned off, we could not see the path to the bathroom, so I had to turn on the bathroom light, and leave the door open a little. Unfortunately, the only light in the bathroom, also turns on its fan, which was also very noisy. There should be a light in bathroom that does not turn that fan on. On my reservation I had asked for a room close to an elevator, so that my Mother would not have to walk very far. When we checked in, they switched us from the 2nd floor to the first, but room turned out to be more than ¾ down the hallway. With the advance warning, and with my credit card guaranteeing the room, I would have thought they could have saved a room that was closer to one of the entrances. We had supper in their restaurant. My burger was fine, but the batter on the fish and chips for my Mother was so dark brown, it was black in places. We pulled the fish out of the batter, but as my Mother was not eating it, I tasted it and found it very rubbery… just barely cooked in places. I told the waitress, and she said it was not undercooked, but they were experimenting with recipes as it was a new type of fish that was much firmer than cod. I think that was probably some malarkey, but if true, you would think they would work out the cooking method before serving it to customers.
We stayed 2 nights in July whilst visiting family in CFB Petawawa and it was very comfortable. Rooms and hotel very clean and well appointed. Large free carpark. We loved the saltwater pool and hot-tub area. Free breakfast was a choice from the express menu at the attached restaurant eg. pancakes and fruit, eggs bacon and toast etc. More than ample but you could just add items if desired, such as the hash brown potatoes which my son loved. First morning the server could have been a bit more welcoming but the lady on the second morning was much more cheerful. Hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend jf stayong in the area.
The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They were very nice and accommodating. The beds were great. Our problem was the hotel was very humid and full of fruit flies. Don't know if I would stay there again, unless those issues are resolved.
The staff was smiling all day, we did not see 1 staff member without a smile in 5 days we were there. Service was very good from everyone. We will definitely return, rooms were so beautiful lots of room to move mini fridge a microwave. the reception area is very very nice.
We booked this hotel for it's proximity to the venue we were going to. What a surprise we got. This hotel was clean, modern & bright. The staff (mostly) were a delight to engage with and went above and beyond to help with any request we had. I have to say the rooms were a delight. They were big by hotel standards with a bed, couch, desk, fridge, microwave, sink, wet bar and more. The beds were extremely comfy and the pillows were perfect. The restaurant was extremely busy in the morning for breakfast but again the staff was friendly and cheerful. The food was good and the coffee hot. A PLEASANT SURPRISE! Way to go BW.
Here for a wedding on the 15th of July, 2017. Staff were exceptional. Food in the restaurant was very good. The breakfast that came with the room was a regular type of hot meal with some good choices - not the cold cereal and stale muffin that some places consider a breakfast. Rooms were modern, clean and had microwaves and refrigerators. Stayed two nights and would recommend this place in a heart beat.
Great hotel However if you do not want an early wake up with kids in the pool at 7am, do not get a poolside room. The toilet paper was see through so be sure to bring your own. Seriously. Other then that great place.
Enjoyed our stay, staff was very friendly from the time we arrived, till we departed. Excellent clean facilities. Staff was friendly and efficient. Location was easy find. Breakfast voucher is awesome idea and great value. Breakfast was delish!
The hotel, the room and the staff were excellent!! This was my second stay at this location, within the last 12 months, each of my stays have been great and have exceeded all expectations. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
Now if every hotel I stayed in was this clean - thank you Best Western of Pembroke! I was pleasantly welcomed by the employee at the front desk - check in and out were quick and nearly seamless. Very much welcomed and appreciated. My only negative feedback would be that the front entrance was not at parking lot level which made it somewhat cumbersome to enter the Hotel with a handful of luggage - automatic sliding doors would have also helped.
5 star.. Treated with smiles from professionals. Brandy added that extra touch that made our day. The food was amazingly affordable. You gotta try the big burger. The name speakers for it self Best Western
We stopped here before arriving home from our trip out west. We checked in just before it started to pour, so we were glad to have a restaurant there in the hotel. The girl at check-in was very nice and efficient. We had a king room on the top floor. It was very nice, clean and comfortable. The rooms have all been refurbished. It was a quiet sleep. It was Father's Day, so we were lucky they had roast beef for dinner in the restaurant. The Yorkshire pudding was super with that. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good and a break from the standard hotel breakfasts. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Pembroke. It is also easy access from the 17 highway.
Great location in a pretty country side. Great hotel- clean, looked new, friendly staff, great bed and pillows, delicious meals. Great price, easy check in and out. I took my mom for an event... they were helpful with a main floor room.
Recently renovated and you can tell! Super cute rooms and at a fantastic price. It had a little island kitchen, minifridge and microwave. Was spacious. Patio door out to pool area. Really nice fitness centre & a spot to play pool to the side of the lobby.
My wife says - camp out or stay in your vehicle but don't stay at the BW in Pembroke. We had a below grade room - looking up at the parking lot. It was damp and smokey smelling. The sink in the bathroom was plugged, so we had to use the bar sink. The next room had guests partying and yelling obsenities to each other until 3AM. There was puke to be navigated in the morning with our luggage at the door to the parking lot. The restaurant couldn't even do a reasonable nachos dish. A little cheese would have been good. Then it took forever getting the bill. Server was fine - just not enough staff. We left at 4:30 in the morning just to get out of there. Our other BW stays on this trip were average, but I question why AMA would promote them in their travel guides. we will not stay at any BW's on our return trip.
My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The walls seemed fairly thin however. I could hear muffled conversations from the hallway when walking past doors, as well as when a shower was turned on in the room next door. Staff was friendly and accommodating most times. I had no issues while using their wifi and having access to the fitness centre was great.
After a 10 hour drive it's really nice to have a nice, clean room with a confortable bed. Chek-in was a breeze, the staff very pleasant. Check out was quick and breakfast was very good and fast. So I was back on the road for the next 8 hrs of my trip. I regularly travel to visit my kids and grand-kids and I will definitly make the Best Western in Pembroke On my sleepover stop.
The place has it all. Has a great pool, fitness center, restaurant and great rooms. I always come here when I am driving through, as the staff have always been genuinely friendly. It is also right off the main highway.
Great fitness center - - it's actually operated as a gym with membership and classes offered to the locals, so it's correspondingly huge and well-equipped. Breakfast is by menu only. Advantages: much better food than your average tedious breakfast buffet. Disadvantages: can take a little more time. But it's worth it. Especially if you order the delicious corned beef hash or eggs benedict.
Nice hotel very pleasant staff. Room was well appointed and clean. I felt it was slightly overpriced for its location, which is well out of town and nothing around it but a gas station. That being said I would stay there again if passing through.
I attended an industry conference at the Pembroke Best Western. When I arrived the reception staff was pleasant and very engaging. The room was clean and comfortable. Service in the restaurant was pleasant and the food was decent. The set-up for the conference was well done and the staff efficient in maintaining services during the event. I would like to bring my family to the Pembroke area for a visit and would recommend staying at this facility again.
Our stay at the Best Western Pembroke was such a pleasant experience. The hotel is modern and the amenities were all great. We attended a large banquet at the hotel and the food was excellent. Great value.
Very clean and quiet. Restaurant in house so you don't have to drive. Easy access from the highway for a overnight stay. Not far from town. Would recommend wheelchair access at front door with access button for your luggage.
The room was very nicely decorated, bed was comfy. Wet room shower :-( a big mess to use but appreciated the roll in capability. The air conditioner is TOO loud. Woke up every time it came on. :-( Tone that noise down, please.
Very kind friendly staff. Rooms very modern and clean. All amenities in this hotel beautiful pool and gym is available with classes. Restaurant in the hotel for convenience and breakfast part of the deal.
My husband brings his canoe group here every year - and they have always loved staying here. This is my first visit....and it is wonderful! Great rooms - all with granite counter kitchenettes, nice size, REALLY comfortable beds and terrific customer service. Pool with hot-tub and great work-out room. It is a 1st class RESORT and I would highly reccommend it to anyone staying in beautiful Pemroke. Laurie Cook - Sister of Cindy from TV's Polka Dot Door.
new redone rooms and carpet, fridge, micro, king bed...its nice...lots of tv channels...about 2.5km out of downtown... free breakey tomorrow..seems like a good value..Holiday Inn Express across road, hence upgrade.. would stay again... go for sushi downtown..
Quite pleased with the staff and overall experience. easy in and out process. Nice to have a restaurant on site. The hotel is starting to show it's age, as I have used it in the past few years, however it is still comfortable and clean and affordable.
I have stayed at this hotel many times, and I truly enjoy my visit every time. Room: Rooms are always clean, big and cozy! Hotel: The pool and hot tub is fantastic. People from pembroke do use the pool for aqua fitness so you are able to partake in that. Gym: Great! Lots of equipment and classes available. Restaurant: Breakfast is included and delicious. Even the lunches/ dinner is great. General location: Close to highway. Overall, I would highly recommend. I always enjoy coming back and staying here.
I stayed here in Feb/March for three nights. My room was a junior suite with plenty of sitting room with a pull out couch combination. Couch was great to sit on if you had a troubling back. A comfortable queen size bed. Proper adjustable desk chair. Bonus were table lamps that had electrical outlets in their base which is especially nice with bedside lamps for those using CPAP machines. Clean rooms, two bureaus in my room for all your clothes. Ample room in the closet to hang clothes too. Decent size washroom. Wet bar with under counter microwave and mini fridge. Small coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Black out curtains.
Friendly staff greeting upon arrival. Stayed here previously but rooms have been renovated since last time. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had poolside rooms and the family enjoyed their swim time. Breakfast was good - not your typical continental. The staff at the restaurant were most helpful and try to cater to your dietary needs. A very pleasant stay.
Spent a night with my family right from check in we had superb service! The room was clean and comfortable! Special shout out to the maintenance gentleman that was checking the chemicals and cleaning he was awesome and so friendly! I was a bit concerned that we were going to have a horrible night since there was #1 a craft beer conference and #2 an extremely rowdy hockey team staying but who ever booked the rooms was a pro. We didn't hear a peep from anyone all night. I'm actually concerned my 1 year old son may have disturb our neighbours!
Stayed for 1 night, bed was comfy, room was well provisioned, wifi worked well, restaurant was surprisingly good! Ham and Gouda grilled cheese :-) Great pick for a weekend or home base to explorer the area.
There are not to many choices in this area for places to stay. This Best Western was located conveniently close to the main highway and was priced reasonably for the area that it is located. The check in and check out ladies were very accommodating with a smooth in and out service. Beds and pillows were comfortable. They have a restaurant on site that was nice to have.
This was a work trip, it was a very good nights stay. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean, to bad I had to start early in the morning so I could not have the breakfast. Also close to the Hwy which is nice for us truck drivers
This is a nice hotel, staff are friendly. Our room was a large, beds were comfortable and clean, no bathtub but lovely large shower, little bar area in the room which is nice to put your food items out on. We were there on a one night stay so we did not take in the pool or other amenities. the restaurant is lovely open and airy very comfortable. The breakfast that is complimentary with your room is not your traditional continental breakfast - it is Fresh made to order breakfast - you choose how you want your eggs sunny side up or over easy and when it gets to your table it is Fresh and not made from pre-packed, pre-cooked, warm in a microwave.. it is from a fresh cracked egg and bread and jams and butter and toast and bacon - Really it is the small things - and this small thing makes a big difference.
We returned to hotel this time after 2 yrs.Very clean and modern room. The counter with sink in room was nice. Room was clean and modern. Nice hot tub and pool. The restaurant on site is good and will diffenitely stay again. Price is a little expensive for off-season but was reduced a little for military discount.
This a very nice and clean hotel, the service was exellent, would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was very good, with a good choice and made for you, not the usual waffle machine and scrabble eggs or cold cereals.
Good hotel as a stopover for anyone enroute somewhere. Clean, comfortable with modern decor. Large rooms with good self catering facilities & air con. Plenty of parking and a decent bar & restaurant if you want to eat in. They do a pretty reasonable breakfast as well. Didn't try out the pool or hot tub - but it looked a good size & well maintained.
Great clean updated rooms. Bar fridge in room. Nice indoor pool. Free parking. Free wifi. Nice restaurant on site. Good affordable breakfast in restaurant. Comfortable beds. Only downside was that there are no bathrooms in the pool area. Means you have to go to the lobby or back to your room if you or your kids need a bathroom break when poolside. Also could be more seating in pool area.
We recently stayed 2 nights in Pembroke due to our daughter starting college there. The Best Western was recommended to us by her landlord. We weren't disappointed. Great location just off the highway and only a 5-10 min drive to the downtown core and the college. Room was a great size and had 2 queen size beds which were very comfortable. Excellent wi-fi. Great water pressure in the shower. Very clean and spacious hotel. We checked out the pool and fitness centre, but unfortunately didn't have time to use them. Pool table on the main level was a bonus. Breakfast was included and there was a nice selection of items to choose from on the menu. Nice grounds as well, including a gazebo and garden area which was home to a chipmunk that would come right up to us when we sat there. There's also an Irving big stop directly across the road so gassing up before you need to hit the road again wasn't a problem. We had hoped to eat supper there one night (a Friday night) but the line up was out the door, so the food there must be pretty decent. Check in and out was a breeze. All in all, very enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend staying here.
Right off the Highway, clean modern rooms with a small bar/efficiently counter. Bar fridge an microwave. Pool and hot tube. Both were working properly, something a lot of places can't say these days as they cut costs in the wrong spots! Good restaurant so you can stay put after a long day riding. Several Km out of Pembroke. Ample parking. Great for the Highlands trail loop ride.
Right from the start we were impressed with this lovely property. The staff at the front desk and on site restaurant were great. Everything was nice and new and fresh and clean. All amenities were working except the hot tub was down for cleaning Sunday afternoon. We never heard a peep from another room. I have already recommended this hotel to others
The hotel is just a little out of town. Personal is very charming. Our room (129) was at the opposite of the lobby, it was very quiet & clean. Bed was really comfortable, it's been a long time that I've slept like this. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, the Westwinds. The breakfast is served there and it is pretty good in general.
Arrived midnight without reservation on one of the busiest nights of the summer. What a wonderful reception given us: the desk clerk found the last room available for us. Thank you!! Excellent room at high Best Western standard. Hot breakfast was very good.
We stayed for two nights, going on a day trip to canoe paddle up the Barron Canyon, and also to visit family in the area. Check in easy and pleasant. Room just fine with good mattress. Good shower. Hotel was somewhat busy. Hard working staff at breakfast each morning. Breakfast good and reasonably priced.
Arrived without a reservation and was surprised they had a room available. The staff was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and large, very nice salt water pool, hot breakfast was included, very nice hotel which was updated in 2015.well stay here again, very central with the express way at your back door.
first room provided has strong smell of smoke. Hotel provided other room. Moving of bags inconvenient. Someone should be checking rooms before customers go inside. especially since the staff told me all rooms are non smoking. How did the cleaning staff miss this? Makes me wonder about rooms being cleaned.
What a great hotel for a large group, the staff are terrific, the food was very good. We held our wrap up banquet in a small room off the dining room which was very comfortable. If you are looking for a base while exploring the valley, I would strongly suggest this hotel.
Stayed for 1 night on a motorcycle trip. Hotel is close to highway but a fair distance from town. ...complicated somewhat by road construction. Great fitness center on site. Had breakfast on site. Beds were comfortable and hotel was quiet at night even though it was almost sold out.
Our stay at the Best Western was excellent, the rooms were large and clean and the front desk is very helpful. Also if you arrive late you can order pizza until 11:00pm. Also a great place to stay if you are going White Water Rafting with OWL
Pretty standard, modern refresh throughout but still is an older hotel. Rooms were larger than today's standards, with small kitchenette. Air conditioning is very loud. You also hear a lot of hallway noise. Breakfast included. Would I stay here again if in Pembroke, likely not.
Any room adjacent to the indoor pool or overlooking it will have a front row seat to sirens announcing wave action in the pool - every 15 minutes beginning at 0800 hrs. Even on Sunday and bank holidays. Either everyone into the pool or stay in another property. And don't be surprised when checking in to see $250.00CAD security deposit on your credit card (unique in >50 years of travel internationally). Unless you arrange for housekeeping to inspect your room with you present the morning of your departure you may have a surprise on your next credit card statement.
Another great Best Western property! My favorite hotel chain. Consistently great accommodations & Pembroke location delivers what I expect. I recommend it! If you are in Pembroke check it out. It is a great spot.
We spent 3 days in July 2016 at this hotel. As motorcycle riders we were touring some of the best roads in Ontario for motorbikes. Our first impression was excellent. Beautiful renovation, indoor pool and on site restaurant with bar. What could possibly go wrong? Well, the understaffing of the on site restaurant for one. unbearably slow but pleasant service. inconsistent presentations from the kitchen. Notably a late nigh chili that was so far removed from anything resembling such a thing in my experience I sent it back. I've given the hotel 4 stars because discounting the restaurant it deserves that. Such a shame, that what amounted to a bonus at this location was too frustrating. We did give them a second and a third chance, spoke up concerning our impressions. Good luck! Would I stay again? Sure. Would I eat there? Probably not.
Stayed one night in early July. Holiday Inn reservation online no longer has the option of requesting a top floor--- not sure why they changed this--- but it's a big issue for me which may very well prevent from booking with them again. We did not get a top floor after requesting upon check in--- although we had no issue with the lower floor this time...however the AC unit in the room cut in and out all night no matter how many times I adjusted settings which contributed to a poor night's sleep! Room was very clean and linen fresh. The pool was very COLD and there was no hot tub which was disappointing. Wi-Fi was poor--- mostly unresponsive and constantly dropping. Breakfast was good--- usual Holiday Inn fare and as usual the coffee was horrid! Would not stay here again. Too many problems and short comings for the high price.
The decor is nice, and rooms well laid out!! Disappointed in our King Suite, we're not able to get the a/c heat balanced, and maintenance left for the night, made a loud noise for quite a while even after turning it off, so then we roasted all night until turning a/c on again, which then blasted until we turned it off. No "auto" cut out. Also, it's a nice view of the pool, but LOUD at 0700 (and I'm talking older ladies, not kids!) rooms echoed the noise right into the room... ?? Our kids room was also nicely laid out with nice furnishings, but the patio door was filthy!! Our son ordered a pepperoni pizza from the restaurant and it was not good at all. Poor taste and barely cooked. A lot of potential in this hotel, just a little more attention to details needed. Would we stay again? Probably not. Other decent options in town it looks like worth trying.
The hotel is an excellent value. It is extremely well appointed with wonderful upgrades in the recent renovations. The indoor pool is a bonus although could use better entrance steps. The fitness centre is a fully equipped gym with staff. The room was spacious and had nice touches like a small kitchen area with counter and sink along with the standard microwave, coffee maker and fridge. The bathroom is nice with a walk-in full size shower. The only concern is the onsite restaurant. Good food and cold local beer on tap, but woefully understaffed. That goes for breakfast and dinner all three days of our stay. A shame. A real breakfast is offered free with the room but the service level was appalling. and it was nice to have an onsite restaurant/bar but it was not worth the wait.
I stayed at this Best Western for 4 nights while on vacation in the area. My hotel room was very clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping service did a great job every morning. The grounds were well kept, and the restaurant staff was friendly and attentive even though they were constantly on the go in the morning. (I only had breakfast there.) BTW, hotel guests get a restaurant coupon every morning which entitles you to either a free breakfast buffet (if serving) or roughly $6.00 off a menu item. One small wish here: almost every breakfast item has bacon or ham involved. I had the veggie omelet two days in a row, then I broke down and had to ask for another dish with tomato instead of ham (which they happily did; I just don't like asking the kitchen for substitutions). I will also mention that I was given the accessibility room. Although I didn't need this feature, I did note that this bathroom has no tub or shower stall. Rather the entire room is tiled, with a draw curtain that separates the shower from the sink/toilet area. And the tiled floor has a gradual incline from the doorway. This all means that if you are traveling with someone in a wheelchair, they would be able to wheel right into the bathroom, draw the curtain and shower themselves sitting down (the controls are low and the showerhead is both adjustable and detachable). Also, there are firm grab bars in both the shower and toilet areas. I don't see a lot of reviews that discuss accessibility features, so thought I'd mention it here. The only issue with my room: I found the A/C unit woke me up every time it cycled on/off; I finally just shut it off altogether at night. That worked for this particular weather (low 20's in the evening), but it would be difficult to do that if it was the middle of winter. Also, the rear guest access door to the building had a shaky push-bar (the holding screws were coming out); a potential security hazard. But all in all, if I was staying in the area again, this place would definitely be on my short list. You can use Air Miles to stay here (which I did), and it's right off the TransCanada Hwy 17 (which I could NOT hear from my room).
After reading some reviews on Tripadvisor, I expected more of this hotel. The staff is kind and helpfull. Rooms are big enough, but the towels were dirty. In the evening we ate at the hotel. I can say, it was very good! Especially the ribs. However the breakfast-buffet was not so good. You get only one drink and for a refill of orange juice, you get an additional charge.
we had a monthly membership for the pool at the best western in pembroke. i have a small daughter. the staff where very helpful and polite. it is very clean and a really wonderful spot to go to. the hours where nice and flexible. and its salt water!! way better for you. all in all we will be going back. the other i appreciated was that the staff where never sitting around doing nothing. they work!!! job well done folks. thank you for making our swim time such a great time.
I always look for a hotel with good workout facilities and this has a very nice large weight room and aerobic machines. Also a smaller sized indoor pool and hot tub. Basic breakfast is included. For instance 2 eggs (any style), bacon toast and coffee are included. Rooms are comfortable with mini fridge and microwave. Access to a kettle at front desk is possible. Overall a great little hotel. Its close to highway so if one is looking for transit point this would be your first choice.
Loved this spot, as a family of 5 two adults 3 small kids age 8 and two 5 yr olds Pros.. the room was great staff very on the ball and friendly.. swimming pool was awesome gave kids something to do besides watch tv ask for any extras pillows blankets towels you get it fast.. the queen sized bed was awesome an comfortable.. room was clean as well as everywhere else we will be returning in the future... Cons... the pull out couch needs to be bigger (not a double) looked more like a single and maybe new mattress not that comfortable the compilmentary breakfast wasent that good and i returned my kids sour chocolate milk to the waitress she didnt return to get them another drink ?? All in all good stay clean, and friendly staff and i don't get out much to rate alot of places but i do work at a resort myself we will definitely stay here again
Stayed here on for a night on our way to Ottawa. Hotel was fine, room was okay, bar area was well used by residents and locals alike and food was acceptable for the price paid. Breakfast was included in the rate and was good.A good stopping over point.
We stayed here back in November 2014, and although at that time our room was starting to look tired and the restaurant was temporarily set up in the lobby, we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but knew that we'd have to return to check out the new digs. It's absolutely fabulous. Our room was spacious, modern, spotless and comfortable. I don't know why this hotel isn't rated as a BW +. The attached restaurant has delicious food at a very reasonable price, and a complimentary full breakfast is included in the room price. And to top it all off, we cashed in our Best Western Rewards points to cover the entire cost of the room. Life doesn't get much better than this.
Great hotel in Pembroke. Nice staff. Accommodating. Clean rooms. Comfy bed. Nice breakfast in restaurant - better than the continental options in other hotels. Shower pressure was great. I would definitely stay again and recommend it if you are looking for a hotel in Pembroke.
This hotel has recently been upgraded. The beds are very comfortable and the staff are the BEST! There is a restaurant on the premises, which is very convenient. I travel to Pembroke often on business, and I would not stay anywhere else.
Stayed two nights with my wife and 1 year old while I was working in the area. Guest services was helpful and made sure we had a room with a crib and a tub for the kid. Room was I have come to expect from Best Western. Updated, clean, comfortable. Hotel has a big indoor salt water pool. Be warned though! If you have a room that faces the lobby or pool you will hear EVERYTHING through your sliding balcony door. You will have a lovely view of either the pool or lobby, no outside windows. So ask for a room on the back side of hotel if you want some quiet and a glance at the great outdoors. Hotel also has an awesome fitness Center.
Another comfortable stay with the room being clean and spacious room with the added bonus of a kitchen area with microwave. Plenty of parking around the hotel. Restaurant inside the hotel offer breakfast using a BW voucher. It convenient to get to the east side of Algonquin Park. (about 40 minutes drive) where I saw beaver on a pond. Magic
For some reason hotels in Pembroke are more expensive than bigger cities, but at least the Pembroke Best Western provides good value. The rooms are nice and the pool is full size and a great temperature. The hot tub barely works. The breakfast choices are excellent, with your voucher enabling you to order a variety of items.
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but was surprised at the noise from the pool area in the morning. We had to leave early, so it wasn't too inconvenient for us, but if you plan to sleep in, ask for a room away from the pool.
We were extremely pleased with this hotel. It was beautiful inside and out. Everything was well cared for. It was convenient and easy to find. My son and I stayed there to attend a hockey try-out. The room was clean and comfortable. We had breakfast at the restaurant twice and the food was great. We did not have time to use the fitness center or the pool but both appeared clean and popular among guests.
2 Adults, 2 Kids, one night in a queen suite. Mixed feelings on returning, probably won't considering the options in Pembroke. Pros - Beautiful pool area, nice mattresses, renovated rooms looked nice. Cons - renovations seemed to only be aesthetic, old room entry card readers worked 50% of the time, absolutely 0 pressure in showers and the water temperature fluctuates as if someone is flushing a toilet elsewhere. Old, incredibly loud furnace/fan unit right beside the bed. When we arrived, on a Saturday, at check-in time, we were greeted outside the main entrance and asked to enter through the "restaurant" entrance and wait as there was a wedding ceremony in the entrance.....I kid you not, not a reception, the actual ceremony, in the entrance. So my wife and I gathered our two young kids (8 and 2) with the luggage and entered into a narrow, low ceiling hall were the restaurant washrooms were and had to wait for about 5-10 minutes while the reception went to get us our key's and room info. The pool entrance is also off the main entrance/reception area and of course the kids wanted to go swimming. It was very awkward to say the least, walking through the back of a wedding ceremony in bath ropes and bathing suits while trying to keep two excited kids quiet. To top it off, later, as we went down to see the entrance area (as it is large and very nice), with the kids, the wedding party was still there doing photos, again awkward and intrusive feelings as our kids wanted to see the fireplace and sit on the couches, you know, be excited kids. The restaurant had very friendly staff but the quality of food left a lot to be desired, especially considering the cost. Eggs benedict and a Spanish omelette were ordered, the eggs were served with the yolks completely cooked through and the omelette had the frozen sausage you would find at McDonalds as their "spicy sausage", not real sausage. For a $14 omelette I expect real food. The pool area was the only saving grace to the hotel, tons of sunlight in the morning and afternoon and not over salted. In the end, if you are going here, check to make sure a wedding is not happening in the entrance area on your check in day and I would recommend going across the street to the truck stop for food.
We go at least twice a year with our granddaughter. She loves the pool and the restaurant. It has been renovated and we love it! Great friendly staff and Pembroke has a lot of amenities. It is relaxing to sit at the fire in the lobby area!
We ended up staying 3 nights and choose Best Western over other local hotels due to the outstanding service we received the first night. The modernization were nice. Rooms were excellent. The Restaurant was excellent with great staff. Thank you for making my unexpected extended stay great.
We stayed on the pool side and i wouldn't recommend a room on that side of the hotel, it may be better on the other side but will have to try, maybe, next time i'm in the area. This hotel has been completely renovated but nothing was done for the noise level on the pool side except that the beds are more comfortable.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights and were absolutely blown away. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were SO comfortable and the amount of amenities the hotel had was ridiculous (in the best way possible)! There was a hot tub, a salt water pool, saunas, a billiards table, a sizable gym with quality workout equipment. PLUS there was an absolutely delicious complimentary hot breakfast buffet! The hotel lobby was so beautiful that we hung out by the fireplace for hours. It was a wonderful treat for us and we'll be coming back every year for a Valentines Day excursion. Highly recommend!!
Best Western have a reputation for great rooms and the Pembroke Best Western is included. The rooms were spacious with small kitchenettes that made the stay very comfortable. Until Sorry to report that the Best Western Pembroke Inn has arguable the world's noisiest heaters. Couple that with the world's noisiest bathroom fans (attached to the light so use was unavoidable) the experience was similar to resting inside a Jumbo Jet engine. So the evaluation is : the rooms are great, but not conducive for sleep.
I went to Pembroke to attend a Memorial for my Grandmother. The hotel even though it was having some renovations done was clean, warm, and inviting. However the reason that I felt like sending in a review was the because of the restaurant staff. They were excellent to say the least. Over the two days we were there Janet had taken great care of us. She was patient, attentive, and funny which was very much appreciated by our whole family. I would recommend staying there to family and friends.
Convenience of being right off of hwy 17. Our family met here and we all enjoyed the salt water pool, the hot tub and the newly renovated lobby, beautiful. The room now have a wet bar, so convenient for all. The staff of the hotel and the restaurant were very pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely be back
Had stayed here during renovations without any problems. Renos now complete. Remains a viable good quality stop. Abundance of hockey teams brings with it the associated ambiance, not an issue with the hotel per se. Westwinds provided the expect high quality food and service.
It is all right, clean and with a pretty good restaurant on site, however, the lower level rooms smell kind of moldy. Since window do not open at all... it does become unpleasant after a few days. The great feature of this place though is its staff. Everybody is so friendly and helpful that it almost makes up for any other shortcomings. Otherwise... there is not much choice in the area and this hotel is kind of far from everything. When stepping out one feels like being dropped in the middle of a huge soccer field. However, if in need for a decent place to stay, breakfast is included and across the highway there is an excellent Irving truck stop offering even better lunch options.
Stayed at this hotel for business. Hotel staff were helpful. New updates to hotel lobby and rooms. Beds/sheets were very clean and comfortable (this is the most important thing in my opinion when staying at a hotel). Rooms were clean and nice. Food at the Westwinds was good (service was a little on the slower side because it was busy, but that would be my only critique). Express Check-Out was easy. I would definitely recommend this spot and would stay here again.
This recently renovated hotel with a conference centre and restaurant provided the perfect venue for an afternoon party of 70, a very satisfactory evening dining experience and a comfortable overnight stay. The lobby area is particularly appealing with it's lineal gas fireplace against a wall of grey ledge stone. This large areas boasts a pool table as well as other amenities.
Stayed here during a scheduled power outage. Desk clerk never told us Windows could not open so basically claustrophobic for 4 hours. No backup generator working. Ordered cocktails at dinner but waitress said we only have beer and wine. Next morning we breakfasted in a different room and they had a full bar. Weird. Beds decent, clean, food average. Breakfast buffet was quite good.
The newly renovated hotel is a great spot, whether travelling solo for business or with the family. The rooms I have stayed in are clean, modern and very comfortable. The newly redesigned lobby is welcoming and warm. The pool is warm and large, providing a great distraction after a busy day. Staff at the hotel are amazing and friendly. The onsite restaurant provides a wide variety of great meals and the attached fitness facility is second to none.
It was one of the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in . Very large room with all the facilities you need. Very nice restaurant. The food was excellent and all the staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the distance to town, but I think in Canada all distances are longer than in Europe.
This was such a wonderful experience. Stayed here with our parents as our son was getting married in Pembroke. Incredibly quiet and clean rooms. Beautiful lobby to relax in. Staff was very accommodating. Delicious breakfast included. Pool looked inviting although not enough time for a swim.
It's a home away from home. Staff are very nice and friendly, the fitness room is superb. I forgot an item in the room and did not find it out until I was back home, I called the reception, they checked and found my item - I was able to get it back.
Placed a person with mobility issues on the basement floor at the far end of the hallway. No Elevator, no ice machine. Had to travel down steps to get to the floor and walk a long hallway. Had to go up 2 flights of stairs to use the pool, get ice. Only one way out in case of a fire or emergency and it involved stairs.
This was a very comfortable stay with the room being spacious, clean and spacious room. Plenty of parking around the hotel. No the usual buffet breakfast it was a very delicious breakfast from the restaurant inside the hotel which I enjoyed. The hotel is convenient for the highway as its out of town but if you want to go into Pembroke is was quite a way. To be honest I couldnt see much reason to go to Pembroke!! I stayed here as it was convenient for the East gate of Algonquin Park. (about 40 minutes drive)
This was my second stay here. I have nothing but positive things to say :) Front desk staff were extremely efficient and friendly. Room was bright, spacious, modern and clean. Keep up the good work BW!
we stayed at the hotel and we were not very pleased with our room which had a musty mold smell . unfortunately I became ill that night and although it may not been connected I still felt bad. We stayed in the lower area of the hotel and it was very inconvenient to get to other areas within the resort . Would not recommend this resort again
My wife and I just enjoyed one night at the Pembroke Inn, but if we ever pass through the area again, I would definitely book a return stay. The first thing I noticed when we entered the lobby was how spacious and well appointed it was with a pool table at one end. The second thing that struck me was the friendliness of the desk staff. We came in contact with three employees during our time there, and they all helped us with smiles on their faces. The room was clean and roomy. The sliding door did not have a view of the outside, but instead opened to the anterior of the pool area. At first I thought that it might be noisy, but there were enough doors to the pool to shut out the sounds of bathers. As far as the location of the Pembroke Inn, I liked the fact that it was relatively isolated with not much of anything nearby, except a convenient gas station which enabled me to fill the tank before resuming our trip in the morning. The complimentary breakfast was more elaborate than some--a kind of limited buffet, but the fact that it took place in their restaurant made the ambience a little better than many hotels that designate a stagnant little room off from the lobby for their continental breakfasts. My wife and I also had dinner in the hotel's restaurant the night before and what we ordered was quite good. Overall, except for the usual hotel standard of a relatively noisy AC unit, our stay was quite enjoyable.
Stopped here for one night during a fly drive holiday. Ideal location on the edge of town & real easy to find. Plenty of parking & it's free Hotel is very modern, has it own dining facilities & fitness suite, which included a pool & hot tub which we made use of, all free of charge. We ate in the Westwinds restaurant & prices were not expensive, 2 meals & 3 drinks came to about $60 including taxes, if you don't fancy eating in the restaurant there was plenty of other places nearby, including a highly rated truck stop just across the road. The room was very good, had its own mini kitchen, including fridge, microwave & coffee maker and free high speed wi fi. Staff were very helpful
Convenient to highway, not far into town. The room was nicely renovated and was absolutely spotless! I am soooo paranoid about bed bugs so I tore the mattress and bedding apart, it all seemed brand new, not a spec of anything on any of it! New furniture in room, lovely countertop in kitchenette and washroom. Nice touches in the room, including a mini fridge. Breakfast was included and was great, lots of choices and everything tasted great. Service was fine, no complaints. Amenities at the hotel looked clean (pool), although I didn't use it. Really appreciate that there was no fee for parking as there is at Best Western in Niagara Falls. Room was very quiet, no rowdy guests as I have encountered at so many places before; we had a wonderful sleep. Investments in recent renovations were very smart! I wish the fireplace in the lobby was on as it would have been very cozy but I know it's a bit early in the season for that. Pembroke is a lovely quaint small city, my first time there. Great distance from Algonquin Park, was worth the drive from the Niagara Region.
