"Great location, facilities could be better "
682alinn, 21 Décembre 2023

The hotel is very well placed close to the train station and the center of the town. The staff was always very nice and friendly. I found it to be very clean and tidy, with daily room cleaning service. The décor was kind of old fashioned, but I guess this is the theme of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. As a downside, there is no hotel parking, you have a discount to a nearby parking, but is not a pleasing experience coming trough the rain from the parking to the hotel with the luggage. The rooms very pretty small, but well heated, but very noisy, I could easily hear all the doors on the floor and also the doors from the nearby rooms. Last thing, the breakfast was disappointing, short on options.

"Welcoming staff, large comfortable room, good breakfast, great value"
PartyofOne2013, 04 Octobre 2022

LOCATION: Situated in the main street of Orléans, it was about 2 minutes walk from the station and about 10 minutes from many of the historic sights of the old town. ROOM: Large, comfortably furnished with a spacious bathroom that had plenty of space for one's own toiletries in addition to those provided. There were tea and coffee-making facilities plus a fridge. A table and chairs by the windows afforded a pleasant outlook over façades of the 19th century buildings in the main street with glimpses beyond. Laptop-sized safe. The cleaning was immaculate. Going past other rooms in the middle of the day before the check-in time, many doors were open as the carpets were shampooed when guests checked out so that like everything else, they were fresh and clean for new arrivals. BREAKFAST: A good selection including fresh fruit and cheeses for vegetarians (like me) plus eggs and an assortment of meats for those who are not. SERVICE: A masterclass in hotel management led by Jonathan with all the staff from reception to housekeepers and breakfast staff welcoming and keen to be of service. VALUE: The room rate was modest for the unbeatable 4 star accommodation.

"Lovely dog friendly hotel"
HelenRichard1980, 24 Mars 2022

We chose the hotel as we were travelling with our Golden Retriever and he was made most welcome. If you don't have much luggage I recommend you drive directly to the car park at 22 boulevard Rocheplatte - 45000 Orléans. Its a 2 minute walk and you cannot park at the hotel itself as it is on the main shopping street. The hotel also discounts the car park from 18 euros down to 10 euros for 24 hours. Check in very friendly and the rooms (we were in room 10) very nicely appointed. A good breakfast with lots of choice. Highly recommended.

"Convenient, Quirky, and Clean"
Silvertravelsurfer, 11 Novembre 2019

We chose this hotel from the decent reviews and convenience of its location close to the railway station. We enjoyed our 1-night stay. The receptionists were charming and helpful. The room was large, bright and airy with a comfortable bed and all the necessary facilities and above all it was clean. It was quirky in that although refurbished it has retained much of its older charm, including an old-fashioned lift and luggage trolley, and decor that looks as if it belongs in how the film sets show bordellos including bright red bedroom doors! It is just a short walk into the centre of the city, although as commented by others there is little in the way of restaurant choice in the immediate vicinity. The receptionists recommended walking down to the main square where there is a choice of restaurants.

"Not up to standard"
Stephen M, 17 Septembre 2019

The location might warrant to cost but whilst the facilities might tick the boxes for its star rating, they were at the lowest edge. Room 32 has a minute toilet with gaps in the door that elude privacy. Paid parking was 250m away.

"Only valid for sporty people fit for walking"
Bernd G, 17 Septembre 2019

The stay in this hotel endet up as a black Sunday: difficulties to find the way to the hotel by car, only public parking options a few 100m away. No opportunities for dinner closed to the hotel and no taxi service or other solutions offered by the service staff (my wife is handicaped). Contend of the offered Minibar was poor. Toilet seprate but very small. We have had a long trip this day and where happy looking forward to relax in a nice hotel by a enjoyable dinner. Nothing at all from this expectation was met.

"Solid hotel with charming features"
SwenW11, 02 Mai 2019

I stayed at this lovely hotel close to the major attractions. Rooms are nice and high ceilings so they feel more spacious than they probably are. Staff was super helpful giving us advise where to get a drink when we checked in to the hotel well after midnight.

"The best hotel experience"
karyfl75, 31 Décembre 2018

It was my first time to see such a brilliant person at the front desk ( Yassine ), thanks to him I have great pleasure writing this review as I found this hotel an amazing little stay with its quirkiness and comfortable surroundings on weekend. The hotel is a pleasant 5 to 8 minutes stroll from the train station. I will definitely be returning soon! Thank you Yassine and the other friendly staff.

"Enjoyed Our Stay"
Oneway1, 01 Juillet 2018

Great location. Room whisper quiet✅. We stayed here for 2 nights. I found the staff very helpful✅. Restaurant recommendations just as we requested ✅Rooms clean bathroom excellent. Aircond worked a treat. ✅Free tea & coffee in the room. ✅Coffee machine free downstairs with sweet treats. Thankyou

"Ok without car"
BeachStone2C, 20 Mars 2018

I didn't use a car so parking wasn't an issue for me. Good location very close to the main railway station and tram lines. Clean but very small rooms. Service was pretty good, did not use restaurant services.

"OK, for one night "
Franzos1984, 02 Février 2018

Its the third time I stay in this Hotel during a Business Trip. For me its ok, based I am only using the room for sleeping. The rooms are small and the furniture is old. But the room is clean and the bed is good. I can recommend the Hotel only if you want to use it for sleeping.

"Nice stay, parking is tough "
GoodFood88, 23 Septembre 2017

The hotel is nice, the staff is helpful and it is a nice location to walk from into the town. As said by others, parking is a challenge. The room was fine and bathroom serviceable, though the shower was about the size of the elevator. It's hard to recommend due to the parking issues, but it is ok otherwise. Breakfast was ok, a few choices but ok.

"Parking impossible"
alisoncgray59, 18 Septembre 2017

We made the mistake of arriving in Orleans on a Saturday afternoon . the traffic was chaotic and the roads quite difficult to navigate. We could see the sign outside the hotel, but it took us three trips round the city before eventually negotiating the pedestrian walkway which seemed to be the only way to access the hotel. No where in the hotel blurb does it say how to access the hotel, and there were no street signs to help. As already said in other reviews, we found ourselves in a road for trams only. We had to drive down the pavement avoiding a bunch of drunks and drug addicts. The receptionist was helpful, but the reception area is tiny and trying to unload two cars with all our goods and chattels was a struggle to say the least. We had no time to see the room as we had run out of time and had to move the cars to nthe car park about quarter of a mile away through some very narrow one way streets. We finally got checked in to our room only to find we had a lovely view overlooking the roof of the kitchens complete with pipes and air conditioning units. The bathroom was point and extremely narrow and when you had a shower the water sprayed all over the bathroom. If you are bigger than a size 16 good luck using the facilities. The only saving grace for us was that the staff were pleasant and the breakfast was good. I appreciate that the hotel is in the center of a large city and that space is at a premium, but it did not live up to be expectations and it was not worth the €139 a night price tag. We were meant to stay for two days but checked out after one night and moved on. One last word of advice. One of the cars we had was a hire car from Avis. We tried to drop the car off on the Saturday at the station where their web site says it has a depot. It doesn't!! Besides which , even if it did, Avis are not open for business on a Saturday or Sunday.!!!

"Never again"
The_37_SF, 31 Août 2017

We stayed here for one night in August in room 32. The room was ok, but the air conditioning wither didn't work or was so poor the room was very hot - so no sleep - but the cold showers we took were great! (There was hot water by the way) The room overlooked the pedestrianised streets through which the trams run = so very noisy and expect to be woken up around 4.30am Access by car is complicated, we got stopped by the police and finally figured out the one way access but the parking is in a car park 10-15mins away - 30Euro for 24 hours! Positives - staff all very nice. Couldn't recommend and we wont revisit this one I am afraid

"Nice but getting here a nightmare"
Muttonen, 28 Août 2017

We Muttonens are great believers in the economic division of labour. One of us drives while the other navigates: we call it playing to our strengths and out of respect to Mrs M, I will spare her embarrassment by not saying what her strength is hers and what mine. The navigator of us is assisted, usually ably, by a woman of indeterminate age whom (on a good day) we call Mildred, our satnav narrator. When Mildred intones "Recalculating" our hearts sink; but annoyance rises when we are listening to an audiobook, get to a point where we really want to hear what's happening, and what does Mildred do but break in with "Enter the roundabout and take the third exit"? Even so, we have got used to such irritation, which has never soured the collaborative relationship between driver and navigator on which every successful car trip depends, so you might appreciate that something capable of sending the driver's hands towards the navigator's throat, in a gesture that boded neither of them much good, must have been a serious problem indeed. The problem was this. The entrance to the hotel is on a pedestrianised street, although 15 minutes of offloading time are allowed before you have to tootle down to public parking safely beneath the main city square down the road. What the hotel doesn't tell you is what to if the button you're supposed to press to lower the obstructing bollard on the road round the corner doesn't work. Round and round the complicated road system we went, trying in vain to find an alternative way in. Poor Mildred did well to cope with a plethora of unexpected road works and diversions, but tempers within the compact Auris gradually rose to the ambient outside temperature as if the aircon had conked out. A brainwave in the heatwave: park car in public car park first and then plod along to the hotel on foot, even with assorted luggage in sweltering weather. But Best Western Orleans really should give more precise advance advice to car-borne guests. Fortunately hotel staff turned out to be lovely and friendly and the room was just what we wanted. Great walking around the city, bracketed by a really nice lunch and delicious dinner, restored the relationship of Muttonens senior to its normal tranquillity; but who knows what tomorrow will bring?

"Excellent hotel"
Bruggy55, 27 Janvier 2017

We stayed at this hotel as an overnight stop travelling back from the French Alps. The location and hotel were a complete punt and we were not disappointed. The Hotel D'Arc is exceptionally well appointed. Our room was lovely and the bed one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The staff were very helpful. The hotel has some quirky features - like an old fashioned lift that only takes a few people. And it is right in the heart of Orleans which, as we discovered, is a fantastic city to walk around. The hotel has a partnership with a local car park providing cheap and safe parking for your car. I strongly recommend both the hotel and Orleans

"Very nice hotel, great location, great staff"
Michael A, 20 Décembre 2016

Right in the middle of things, which is good and bad. Parking was not ideal, but once you figure that out, and where to go, not a deal breaker (although parking in this city is a pain). Rooms were very nice and clean. Minimal, but would highly recommend for the value.

"Great Location"
Waverunner2012, 14 Octobre 2016

This hotel is located between the heart of the city and the train station. It is also on the same street where the tram is. Though without their own parking space, they provide you with a discount to park at a near by underground garage.  From here you can easily walk to most of the top attractions.  The amenities are fair and the room clean. We particularly liked the shower. Even the shower itself is a bit small, it has a nice shower head with plenty of water. The breakfast was a bit on the expensive side - comparing to all the other similar type of hotels we stayed - but there were plenty of choices of carb and proteins.  The hotel is in an old building. Although renovated, the floors were kind of noisy, especially if there were somebody staying in the room above you. Perhaps it would be a good idea to asking for a top floor room if you prefer quietness.

"Lovely hotel "
claudia, 08 Octobre 2016

We spent one night here and the hotel Was very comfortable, clean and accommodating. Wifi service was good. We didn't have breakfast opting for the bakery down the street . Yes the elevator is lovely! From another era! Hotel Is in a good location. We walked to the cathedral.

"One of the best old world lifts"
denieleb, 11 Septembre 2016

The staff where most helpful. The car parking is too far from the hotel so drop your luggage off when you book in. The bathroom was small, but this was one of the biggest rooms we had on our France holiday. The air con didn't work on the hot night ( we opened the big windows for a breeze) we stayed, but we managed to sleep as the bed was comfy, the room was dated but lovely. The small old world lift is a must see & use.

"Lovely hotel, well situated"
FuryganUk, 31 Août 2016

Pleasant city centre hotel. No parking but side street parking available about 400 metres away. Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, nice continental breakfast. If you do choose to stay here you might find the entrance a bit difficult to find so look at the pictures and familiarise yourself with the entrance because it does blend in with all the shops surrounding it.

"Perfect location, beautiful decor"
Jenny C, 29 Août 2016

Used as a stopover travelling through France. Hotel is centrally located, friendly and helpful reception staff. The decor is lovely, especially the old fashioned lift and stairways leading up to rooms. Family room for 4 was spacious. Didn't pay for breakfast as there's a cafe just down the road which had cheap croissants, juice and coffee. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

"Ok"
Froggit01, 27 Août 2016

The hotel was ok but a little tired. Staff very helpful and location was amazing but there was a €12 charge for the parking which was quite a way away which I assumed would be free. Orleans is a fantastic city and this hotel is well situated to take the old town in.

"A very dissapointing hotel expensive and poor value for money"
Anthony O, 26 Juillet 2016

The hotel is located about a five minute walk from the main square however the photos on the website are misleading as it is only a small part of the building shown We were staying for one night whilst travelling to the South. The garage is a three minute dive away but costs 20 euros. I booked a superior room which was 125 euros and it was no bigger than a shoebox. I would hate to see a room that was not superior. The room was poorly furnished and had zero character add a further 33 euros for two breakfasts which we didn't and the 158 euro price tag was ridiculous oh....... and they told me this was the special Sunday rate. The manager?? was very helpful as it is very difficult to work out how you get to the hotel as it is in a pedestrianized location Just very expensive and disappointing There must be better in Orleans

"Best..We'll be back!"
sunseekernina, 24 Juillet 2016

Great hotel, located in the centre of town shopping area and close to eateries and bars. We were upgraded to a better room so not sure what all the room types are like, I feel they all may be individual and different. The staff on duty when we arrived were efficient and helpful. The hotel has character and is pleasant throughout. The bed was comfy and the room clean and well equipped with coffee making facilities. Breakfast was ok, sufficient and plentiful. The coffee good. Hotel has parking but we parked on the street. (Arrived 7pm ish on a Saturday night and parking in street close by was free until Monday) I would stay again if in Orleans.

"A chain that actually tries."
Nick G, 02 Juillet 2016

Very impressed indeed. The hotel, which is very central, couldn't have been more pleasant to stay. We were given a fourth floor room which was very quiet indeed. The staff were extremely motivated and eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thoroughly recommended.

"Not bad"
Radim M, 13 Juin 2016

I expected a little more from this type of hotel. Nobody helped me with luggage and i had to park my car on the street. Otherwise very nice space, althrough it was clear that it not really new. beds were very comfortable.

"Business Trip"
carmenludwig, 12 Juin 2016

Hotel presents a very beautiful Ambiente, very stylish renovated, ancient building the Rooms nice and very clean, but sounds of neigbour rooms can be heard. !!! Staff is very competent, helpful and very friendly Breakfast of high Quality and good selection offered

"Small room but Ok for a night"
m0ntesansavin0, 05 Juin 2016

The hotel is very central. The room was very small and almost entirely filled by the bed and wardrobe. The bed was comfortable enough. The room faced the road so the noise from the trams was annoying. The shower was excellent. Breakfast was adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful.

"What an hotel!!"
koreanbaz, 10 Mai 2016

Absolutely lovely hotel, on the border of the area where all the bars and restaurants are. Parking us an issue, but the are easy directions and a hotel discount. Car access to the hotel is a bit of a fuss as well, driving on pavements and down tram lines. But that aside, the rooms are top notch, staff were amazingly helpful. Would happily stay there again

"Lovely, tranquil hotel in the heart of Orléans"
kds414, 17 Mars 2016

This is a charming and tranquil hotel in the heart of Orléans, just a few blocks from the Orléans Centre train station and steps from the local tram. It is located on a pedestrian street, but cars can park briefly in front for check-in, etc. My room was very comfortable and light, with high ceilings and lovely details. The bathroom was very modern, and had been recently redecorated. Everything was charming and impeccably clean. The breakfast buffet included a lovely variety of breakfast foods, with omelettes and soft-cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, or other breakfast meats, cheeses, fruit, croissants and other patisseries, crêpes, muffins, and other little breads. In addition, there were several kinds of yogurt, and five or six kinds of fruit juice. It is the warmth and graciousness of the staff, however, which made my stay memorable. Special thanks to Coline and Juliette, who were particularly pleasant and helpful.

"Very good"
Padme27, 06 Février 2016

I primarily chose this hotel because of its location and I can confirm that it is the best choice for short stays in Orleans - very close to the centre and most animated streets. Everything was very satisfactory, the rooms are quite spacious and well equipped, the bathrooms are very modern and beautiful and the staff was amazing - truly very welcoming, professional and helpful. The only negative point would be the poor sound isolation between rooms, I could hear the neighbor's tv and conversations but it didn't bother me too much. I would stay in this hotel again and I recommend it for both tourists and business travelers.

"Comfortable rooms, good location, beware the lack of weekend wifi!"
Christian G, 13 Décembre 2015

We visited the hotel a while back and it was lovely, nice location relatively close to the town centre and the train station - however, the wifi wasn't working, and the member of staff on duty downstairs was a bit brusque in their explanations - in the end the problem wasn't resolved and we had to go out to use the free wifi in a nearby cafe. Still, a nice location if everything is working correctly, at least!

"Tired and claustrophobic"
JohnRAtlanta, 11 Novembre 2015

An old hotel with a musty atmosphere and furnishings. Our room was cluttered and cramped, the bathroom small. The elevator is ancient and tiny. The tired and claustrophobic ambiance turned us off having breakfast there. Parking is in a public car park a good distance from the hotel and getting car access to the hotel to load and unload luggage is challenging. No porter to help with luggage. Positives: the hotel is centrally located and staff members were friendly and helpful (which boosted my rating from 2 to 3). Cannot recommend.

"Couple on their way home"
T and J J, 01 Novembre 2015

Charming hotel with charming staff! We loved Orléans and decided to stay an additional night, choosing Hotel d'Arc for that night was not a difficult choice. The breakfast was superb, a wide selection to satisfy all tastes. The room while small demonstrated an elegant and smart use of space, the bathroom and amenities were excellent, especially the shower. We would highly recommend this hotel.

"Lovely old fashioned hotel"
andrew c, 18 Octobre 2015

This is a lovely old fashioned city centre hotel with good sized rooms and a comfortable bed. The bathroom are very small but there is everything you need. Reception staff were brilliant. Parking is a bit difficult but that is not unusual in a city centre hotel. Breakfast was lovely.

"Recommended for a long weekend break in Orleans"
eTood, 04 Octobre 2015

Great city centre location in a wonderful looking hotel. A short walk past shops, cafes and restuarants to the old square featuring statue of Joan of Arc and then just a little further to the fantastic cathedral. This hotel is a recommended base for a long weekend in Orleans.

"Right in the middle of action"
aff2010, 03 Octobre 2015

This is a very good hotel for those who want to be in the center of action. It is located on a mostly pedestrian street. There are cable cars passing by the street. However, the hotel did a great job on blocking the noise inside the rooms. We were on the top floor facing the street and were able to sleep well. If you do have a car, be aware that there is no parking at the hotel site. The hotel has worked a deal with an indoor and safe parking garage at the end of the street where they are located. However, keep in mind that to get to the parking, one of the options is to drive the car onto the street to unload the luggage. In order to do that, one has to drive the car onto the mostly pedestrian street where the cable cars also transit. It is a bit challenging. The other option is to go straight to the parking and haul the luggage on the street competing with all the people walking there. It is a very busy street. So that was a bit of an inconvenience. In terms of service though, I was quite please. Check in and check out were efficient, room was clean, AC worked well, and there was a mini bar. The bathroom is quite small, but they did mange to put in a rain shower with great water pressure there. Bed was very comfortable. One quirky detail is the elevator which added a lot of character to the hotel.

"Very nice hotel"
shanna58, 27 Septembre 2015

Stayed here one night with husband while driving Northern France - very helpful front desk staff, nice clean room with comfortable beds and clean bathroom with a rain shower. Breakfast in the morning very good - meats, cheese, yogurt, cereal, pastries, eggs, bacon, fruit coffee tea etc. Very close to the train station for us to get to Paris. Our only complaint was finding the hotel - it's actually on a side street with a small sign and a pedestrian walkway keeps you from being able to see it when driving by. It was worth the intial frustration once we found it.

"Staff were great."
Stokes13, 24 Septembre 2015

Orleans was a fabulous place. The Best Western is brilliantly located in a pretty town street. The hotel reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room a junior suit was lovely decorated, comfortable bed although for a suite rather small. Breakfast was very disappointing the breads and pastries were very dry and hard, not worth extra money should be included in room cost.

"Excellent "
Abdulla A, 20 Septembre 2015

By all means this place is excellent. Helpful and kind staff, great location and facilities. Toilets are small but it is france so I cant understand why someone would be bothered by that!! Rooms are good with a great view of the city. No regrets ar all.

"Well....OMG"
koreanbaz, 15 Septembre 2015

We arrived and the receptionist Severine was amazing from the start. Where to park. Where to visit. The room was awesome and the vintage lift was a quirky but lovely event each trip. We loved Orleans. There is so much to do. And this hotel was right in the right place. On the main tram thoroughfare but quite and not at all noisy. Would start there again without hesitation

"Well-located Orleans hotel"
CesmeTraveller, 01 Septembre 2015

The hotel is situated at the top of a pedestrian area, which can be daunting at first, but it is possible, if you keep your eyes peeled and your car well over to the right as you round the roundabout beyond it, it slip into the top section of Republique so that you can drop off passengers and belongings before parking under the central square for the discounted 12EUR for 24 hours in a secure car park! Once inside, you'll find the hotel still retains some character from its past, together with clean and comfortable rooms, which are air conditioned (well, mine was!). It also had the smallest, or should I say "compact" bathroom but it still managed to offer a rainforest shower. A very comfortable and surprisingly quiet night was passed to be broken by a very good breakfast. Now that I know how the car parking works, I'll be less intimidated and likely to return!

"Ideal stopover"
Del W, 10 Août 2015

Really good service from helpful staff, smashing, comfy bed and nice touch with free champagne in room. Location was right in middle of old part of Orleans, good for shopping and culture. The parking was safe and secure but needs more detail on entry on website.

"Great location but poor website and value for money"
me999999, 01 Août 2015

Room was fine but very standard. Tried to book in twice via mobile website through trip advisor and entered card details etc but then got into a loop asking me if I wanted to reserve, I chose this over booking.com because it was 10 euros cheaper but gave up in the end as the site simply did not work. The hotel were unhelpful about this but with a day to go, we booked through booking.com. Quite disappointed in all but the location. We didn't take the breakfast as it was overpriced too. Decent shower. I think we could have found better hotels in the area - good area as close to the restaurants etc but quiet.

""Location...Location..""
Boris T, 21 Juillet 2015

We as a family of four had booked 2 rooms for one night on July 4. After plugging data Into GPS and wondering why the location would take me onto a pedestrian walkway also occupied by a tramline, I abandoned my American senses after my third try at finding the property and drove right up onto the sidewalk around 5 pm on a Saturday avoiding pedestrians bicycles and strollers. At the reception the clerk had advised me that this was perfectly normal and after checking in and leaving our luggage in the lobby I was directed to an underground garage park for my vehicle which also took some skilled driving. Room: Average size by European standards, wonderful and modern bath, good A.C. which was needed as there was a heatwave going. Bedding and mattress excellent. Location: Prime, walk to all major attractions, restaurants, museums within 10-15 min. Sunday Morning was a peaceful time to explore Orleans. Breakfast: Excellent worth every Euro...superb selection something for all. Staff: Good help with directions and friendly.

"Nice Service, Good Location, Average Room"
Laura B, 20 Juillet 2015

We stayed here for two nights in May. The reception was very warm and friendly as well as helpful. The room was quite small but comfortable, however the bathroom was extremely small. The toilet was separate in what seemed like a very small closet. Fortunately we are not large people, taller or heavier persons would not have fit! The location was very good, near the train station and center of town.

"Welcoming and lovely hotel "
TeamMC2010, 30 Juin 2015

We had booked Hotel d'orleans but when we turned up they had over booked so had booked us into this lovely hotel that were so welcoming and friendly which is just what you need after a 9 hour drive! Our room was fantastic and very French in decor, also extremely quiet. Loved the old fashioned lift and the music memorabilia everywhere. A hotel full of charm and history. We loved Orleans and will definitely be returning and recommending this wonderful hotel.

"Best Western Hotel d'Arc, Orleans, FRANCE"
Ranjit R, 14 Mai 2015

My wife and I were overseas for forty days and this is one of the two best hotels we stayed at. The staff were excellent and the room superb! We are most grateful to Mr. Christophe for the help he gave us. We ordered a meal and it was one of the best we had during our long stay in France. Ranjit Ratnaike MD It is conveniently located a few minutes from the railway station.
