very nice hotel and staff. room was clean and bed was comfortable. cook to order breakfast was a very nice touch. plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. easy to exit and enter freeway. parking was easy and property is well lighted.!!
Over the years I have stayed at this location before, which is convenient to shopping and downtown Madison. This Saturday night felt like college men's night. The door to my room was open when I arrived. Creepy. My room was clean and neat. I slept well until my neighbor above seems to wake at 5:30 AM have a creaky floor. I could hear them walking above for an hour. The other rooms I had not heard people above. Security deposit was taken at 8:47 PM, which I felt was strange. Typically it is taken if they find your room trashed. Front Desk clerk was not the friendliest. He mentioned accidentally charging a room $50 for a soda. So he was going to credit me $47? Only charge me $3 for a soda I did not use. I will speak to management.
We stay at BW routinely and this one was one of the better ones we have stayed at. The staff we're inviting and very helpful. We arrived later and being a rewards member our room was updated to a king suite. My husband is handicapped and the extra space was a welcomed pleasure. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable too. It has everything you need for a comfortable night. The area appears safe with plenty of parking. Our room faced the highway but little noise heard. The “made to order” breakfast options were great- best breakfast for hotel. We will definitely stay here again when in the Madison area.
the hotel rugs on the first floor were dirty. Our room rug had a musty , dirty smell. the bathroom needs a total remodel. It is old fixtures, and tub area. The bathroom door was mad of particle wood and was peeling. The breakfast was good. We had a choice of breakfast and was cooked to order. The breakfast system used for each guest worked really well.
A clean safe place with the most wonderful free breakfast with a station where the cook will make your eggs, pancakes or french toast to order. Beds and pillows were comfortable and the air conditioning filters were clean! (I don't appreciate you telling me that I have to have 200 letters characters in my review)
The hotel was clean and our room was quiet and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. It looked like they had a nice workout room but we were only there for one night on our way home so we did not use it. We arrived after midnight after a long drive so were only interested in getting a good night rest and a nice breakfast for the rest of our drive home.
We took a trip to visit friends in Madison and this place gave us easy access to everywhere we needed to go. This place is great for sleep-the beds were very clean and comfortable. The made to order hot breakfast was really good! The gentleman at the front desk wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. Good place to stay and head out for your day!
I really liked this Best Western hotel. It was clean, comfortable and a good price. This hotel not only provides the regular breakfast varieties but you can also order a hot one from the choices on a menu! Also I needed to print off something from the computer and both are available to use in the lobby…. another great aspect of Best Western!
Nice hotel, easily accessible and in a location with lots of things to do. Could use an update but it is clean and comfortable. Staff very nice and accommodating. We had to leave for work at 3:30 in the morning and we felt safe leaving before the sun came up.
I needed just one night while passing through the area and I'm so glad I chose this hotel from all of the options. Stephen at the front desk was awesome ... friendly, gracious and accomodating. More than the typical (bla) continental breakfast provided by most hotels, your breakfast is cooked to order from 3 options and included in the price of the lodging. The dining room is beautiful and so much nicer than your typical continental hotel dining room. In addition, there is a selection of muffins, bagel, toast, breakfast cereals, yogurt, coffee and juices to name a few. Thank you Best Western West of Madison, WI. you guys are doing a great job!
Comfortable beds, pillows and linens. Appreciated a second sink and counter outside of the bathroom. Everything seemed pretty clean! The carpet was well used but not dirty. The breakfast was so impressive. Enjoyed the cooked to order hot breakfast options! Super tasty. Would stay again!
My husband and I stayed - he is disabled and d we found the room comfortable and clean. We did not stay in an accessible room And instead chose to make our room accessible ourselves. We were in the one bedroom with a kitchen and it worked out well. The morning breakfasts are yummy, fresh and really nice.
This hotel is my go to for my family visits to Madison! Friendly staff, comfortable spacious rooms, nicely decorated!! The beds are very comfy and the rooms are quiet! I love the full breakfast to order option along with a continental breakfast options, which is rather uncommon! We feel safe and have never had an issue for the 5-6 years I've been staying there!! Highly recommend!
This was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our cross country road trip. The staff are friendly and helpful with our questions. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge in the room . The large tub and shower. The breakfast was wonderful with the usual coffee, tea, cereal, yogurt and pastries. You can also enjoy cooked to order eggs or pancakes or French toast served with bacon or sausage and home fried potatoes. There are two washing machines and dryers if you need to do some laundry I would definitely stay here again
Excellent value! Room was clean, quiet and bed very comfortable. Nice made to order breakfast. Coffee always fresh throughout the day! Staff was courteous and helpful. Neat to West town mall and close to the belt line but a little far from UW which may be a pro or con depending!
We had a great time we had a suite and there was plenty of space to hang out while it rained instead of just sitting in a bed the entire time. Very comfortable stay!
Hotel was very clean even though outdated. I would definitely recommend and stay again. The made to order breakfast was fabulous. They make a delicious breakfast for you and it is served hot. They even werr able to provide me with gluten free options. The staff were all very nice and helpful.
Made to order breakfast was very unusual for BW and appreciated. Tesla car charger also a plus. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was within walking distance of several restaurants. One of best BW have stayed in. Would recommend. Don't have more to say but review says has to be 200 words so just adding words
My stay experience was great, and must credit the weekend front desk manager, STEVE, and staff for their customer service! He and the team are very welcoming, polite, patient, and accomodating to customer needs as appropriate. The hotel, room, and linens are very clean, and the mattress extremely comfortable. The free breakfast was a treat, as it's cooked to order! Hotel is located in are area that is bustling but not loud during the day, close to major shopping, fast food, and resturant options. But it's very quite at night. And it's a quick 20 mins from downtown and 10 from UW. Highly recommend this location!
The hotel was clean and quiet. The location was very convenient. The staff was friendly and courteous. There was a free continental breakfast. Our room was cleaned while we were out. We also appreciated the extra sink in the room. It was a nice property.
Was really good to stay at the hotel, the staff was really friendly, and professional , they had great breakfast every day fresh they cooked in the grill, the rooms are clean and big enough for the stay, the laundry was clean and working, area where the hotel is situated is quite and out of the houses are, close to Walmart and other food stores, the Mall is near by and the environment on the hotel is safe.
Comfortable beds and excellent cooked to order breakfast at a fair rate. Lots convenient restaurant choices.
Good location, clean rooms, comfy bed and decent fitness center. I didn't stay for the breakfast but it had hot fresh made options in addition to the usual hotel breakfast fare which was a nice touch.
Date of Visit: Nov 14, 2023 The rooms are nice, clean, and spacious. The beds are very comfortable with 4 pillows per bed. The air conditioner in our room was an old clunker that makes a tonne of noise but it cooled room quickly. Hotel is a bit dated but very clean and bright. It has a 24 hr fitness centre with good equipment. Breakfast is cooked to order 3 menu options eggs & meat - they offer bacon or chicken sausage options. When you check in, make sure the front desk gives you enough breakfast vouchers for everyone in your party. The breakfast cook only cooks per ticket. I didnt know this, when i checked in i was only given 1 voucher but when i ordered 2 breakfasts i was only given 1. I had to explain and then got my breakfast, but it was clearly inconvenient. Breakfast area is very clean and bright, and updated. Coffee/ beverage & condiment station is well stocked. Free wifi Onsite free parking.
Very clean and pleasant place to stay. Front desk girl had a very friendly and real smile when she greeted us. The entire facility smelled fresh and clean and our room was furnished nicely (154). Pretty close to UW hospital where I had to go for for an upper GI so I had to skip the yummy looking breakfast, my gal loved it. The 2 guys at checkout were just as nice as the the smiley gal the night before. I would stay there again anytime!
Bargain property on west side. Got suite with huge living room and separate bedroom. Very clean and quiet. Close to coffee sjop and Wst Town Mall. Room key did not work which was annoying. Other than that no issues. Friendly staff. Get room in back, not facing freeway.
Ther were multiple reported mechanical problems with the HVAC and door locks which caused us to spend a night in a cooler than comfortable room and had to switch to a different room the next day. There was no adjustment to the bill for the inconvenience Very dissatisfied!
We had a pleasant stay. Nice size room. The man that checked me in was very nice. Not sure if he was owner or manager? It looked like things were upgraded recently and had a new big TV. Just was disappointed no Hallmark channel but no biggie. The free, made to order breakfast was very good and just enough. Bed was comfy. We all slept good. Even our dog. Would totally recommend.
The room was spacious and being able to have our dogs with us was perfect. The breakfast looked great, but we had other plans. The room and public areas were very clean. Access in and out of the hotel was easy and the location served our needs perfectly. The front desk was kind and helpful. There are a lot of food options in the area.
We've had good experience with Best Westerns, so when we found this one at a reasonable price, we had clear expectations. They were not met. The second day, we put out the placard requesting that the room be made up. It wasn't. At the front desk, the nearly comatose clerk said that's only done every third day. So we put out the placard again, and again, nothing happened. The slightly livelier clerk that night said we had to make a request. What exactly was the conversation on the second night?? In short, there was no service and the staff didn't even rise to the level of marking time. Don't waste your money.
We booked the hotel last minute for a sports tournament. We checked in late, it was quick and easy. The ice machine worked, which was great to refill our cooler. We were surprised to find a microwave, fridge and stove top in the room. The room was clean and bigger than expected. The bed was comfortable and came with extra pillows. Kids also used the pull out bed, it was fine for a pull out bed but glad an adult didn't have to sleep on it. They gave us tickets for breakfast but we were gone before it opened. We were able to fill our thermos with hot water and water bottles with ice and cold water.
While staying for three nights at West Towne Suites, we had an issue during our first night, and after speaking with front desk person Steven, he spoke with his Operations Manager Troy, and our issue was corrected immediately, and to our total satisfaction. Having a cook at breakfast preparing your eggs to your liking, is a really nice feature. Have never seen that at any other Best Western other than at a Premier property.
stayed here on September 16th, 2023 checked in and room smelled, carpet was wet in between beds, and there was no hot water, so my wife and I were unable to use shower. Front desk said they were calling maintenance after hour went down again after no response and said they couldn't reach anyone, could not switch rooms. Next morning still no hot or even warm water. Ice cold so could not use shower. Front desk said nothing they can do and management not available on weekends? What you could not call some one for help or to issue refund? Tried calling management all day on Monday with no response. Extremely poor customer service for Best Western. Very disappointed stay
I had read reviews that said this hotel is clean but shower is cold. I thought those people may have been use to a super hot shower. NOPE! The shower water was very cool & never got warm or hot (night or morning). We had a 1st floor room & the people walking in their room above caused our ceiling to squeak & groan. Don't know why but it squeaked/groaned during the afternoon and when we returned in the evening. The beds & pillows were super comfortable but it was difficult to fall asleep to the noisy ceiling. The room was clean & the breakfast area was well stocked. But the cold water & noisy room are not worth it.
The room was okay, clean and good for night. I don't know if I'd spend more then a few days here, but passing through this was a great stop in Madison. didn't have the breakfast as we left early, but from other guests in the lobby, heard it was a good set up and food quality.
The stairwells, hallways and room smelled musty and old. In room coffee was the worst I have ever had and I have been travelling for business for decades so that is saying a lot. Bathroom amenities were cheap and the towels were thin and scratchy. We put out the placard to have our room cleaned in front of the cleaning staff, left for over 8 hours and no one cleaned our room. I gave the hotel 2 stars (really one and a 1/2) because at least the bed was comfortable and I didn't feel unsafe on the grounds or in my room.
We asked for a crib, but the young man didn't know if the hotel even carried them. I have food allergies and was able to find something in their custom food and their self service food. My allergen free diet allowed me to eat potatoes and bacon, rice cinnamon Chex, plain Quaker oatmeal with sugar packets, bananas and apples.
This hotel is managed extremely well and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the complimentary breakfast food and service is great. I have always been very pleased with my stays at this facility and I know you will, too!
Very comfortable and welcoming! Troy, Manager, and his team remember us and treat us like family. We stayed here for 6 months while working out of state. Every time we get to come back to the area we stay here and they are all happy to see us! It feels like our second home. The breakfast is always good and the beds are comfy. They take such excellent care of us. I wish more places were this welcoming and caring.
Nice clean hotel with good customer service. Nice sized rooms for a quick one night sleep. Hotel was quite busy and it's around several restaurants. Breakfast nook is a bit small and all food is made to order. Definitely worth a stay if you need a hotel in the area.
This is a relatively new, very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate, with eggs and pancakes cooked to order. And the rate was very reasonable, particularly compared to nearby hotels. Highly recommended.
We arrived before check-in time but that allowed us to use the laundry facilities. We had a suite and it was very comfortable for our 5 night stay. Cooked to order eggs and fresh toast were perfectly prepared and very tasty. Good location for easy access to interstate and restaurants. Would stay here again.
Hotel was clean, nicely updated & had a wonderful made to order hot breakfast, choice of 3 items plus all the extras like fruit, bagels, yogurt etc. Friendly staff. Got alot for the price. Totally recommend!
We were very pleasantly surprised for our quick stay at this wallet friendly hotel on the west side of Madison - close to everything but private and quiet. The front desk staff were helpful and courteous; the room was spacious, well laid out, and the bed and linens quite nice. The complimentary breakfast with made to order choices was really as good as I've had at much more upscale places. This place is a great find.
Hotel was nice, staff was helpful and breakfast was made to order which was very good. Coffee was good, too! The hotel was convenient to downtown Madison and many good restaurants. It was a nice city to stay in and see - we enjoyed our stay.
The staff goes out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. We have stayed at numerous other hotels/motels in Madison and always come back to this Best Western. We traveled to Madison because of a medical procedure one our cairns needed. They have always been very pet friendly.
Staff is always very helpful and accommodating and when looking for a simple, clean place to stay at a reasonable cost when visiting family or staying for work, this hotel has become the go-to location.
Its extremely rare finding a hotel so close to the highway that feels like you're far away. This hotel not only makes you feel like you're in paradise but it was the most quiet relaxing stay ive had in months.
My partner and I recently stayed at the Best Western and we had a great stay! When we first checked in, our TV wasn't working. Staff quickly moved us to the room next door, where there was a working TV. They were so kind and helpful during our stay! Also, the made to order breakfast was wonderful and made quickly.
I have stayed here many times. The hotel is well taken care af and the cooked to order breakfast is a nice feature. The problem was return after a long second day, the room had not been cleaned. I had to go to the desk late to get towels, coffee packets, bath tissue. Not what I ever expected from a BW
Checkin was easy, very convenient location right off highway and near lots of shopping. Using Navigation to hotel is tricky, it tries to take you through the block - just drive by where it tells you to turn and drive past the other name hotel and go around the corner, it'll be easy to find then. Very good breakfast, chose from cooked your way eggs w/potatoes, or pancakes or French toast - all served with choice of bacon or sausage. Lots of parking!
We have stayed at this property many times in the past. The location works. Many restaurants nearby and close enough to UW. Reasonably priced, clean and a hot cooked to order breakfast. Friendly staff.
This hotel swooped in to save our evening when another nearby hotel "lost" our reservation. We were thankful to be welcomed with a free upgrade and in time to grab a beer from the snack area. The room was basic, but very clean and extremely quiet. We had to skip the made-to-order breakfast, but were pleasantly surprised by the choices. We will definitely make this location one of our first choices when we are traveling to Madison again.
This is a large and sprawling facility, which resulted in the ice machine's being a long distance from our room. Rooms are clean, comfortable, modern and well kept; ours included a stove and a fairly large refrigerator. Breakfasts are made to order, and plates and utensils do not consist of throwaway plastic, which is (1) very welcome, and (2) a radical departure from most contemporary motels.
We're here to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. I am a Best Western Diamond member and have stayed at Best Westerns all over the US for the last 8 years on business. This rates in the bottom 5%. Before we opened the door to our room we noticed a large industrial extension cord under our door and into the next room. When we entered the room, we discovered our air conditioner was unplugged, as the cord was plugged into our AC outlet and ran to the room next door. Calls to the desk went unanswered, so I had to go down to the lobby. In the second room, the desk lamp did not work. I changed the bulb, but the bulb is ok. Another unanswered call to the desk and another trip to the lobby. The receptionist said that I didn't know how to light the lamp, and he would come up to show me. As I was informing him of my unhappiness with the facility, he turned his back as I was talking and left the room. I am 78 years old and expect more respect from someone less than ⅓ my age. When he came to the room he discovered that the lamp was plugged into the wall where there were 4 receptacles. Some were working…some were not. We changed the lamp to a socket that worked. Problem solved (it turns out that I DO know how to operate a lamp…when it has electricity to it!!). When taking a shower I found that the adjustable shower head no long was adjustable, and we are stuck with a shower with too forcefully a shower. I hope our second day is better than our experience so far!!!
The hotel was very clean. I appreciated the “made to order” continental breakfast. As well as a surprise free upgrade on arrival for being a Best Western rewards member. Bed was super comfortable, and it was an extra large tub.
We stayed Wed – Fri nights. Everything was clean and worked. Bed, pillows & sheets were comfortable. A/C unit worked great. The king bed room was very large and spacious; came with a love seat and coffee table too. Plenty of room for 2 adults. Now for the not so good: Breakfast was not good, like Denny's or Waffle House quality, I'm amazed folks are raving about it. Out of the 3 mornings, 2 of them the cook messed up our order. The bacon was so thin you could see thru it and thus no flavor, the coffee was awful I had to add sugar to make it drinkable, the pancakes & potatoes were dry. The eggs were ok & so was the french toast but still not what I'd expect from something cooked to order. We would have preferred a buffet with better quality. Housekeeping was by request only before 9am and if you left your towels/trash outside the room, you have to get them replenished at the front desk; that was not clear from the note in the room. Not horrible but not ideal either. Once we got a stained towel. To end on a positive note, the staff were all very friendly, very helpful and went out of their way to make sure we got what we needed. Plus the location was exactly what we needed and safe. Our room only (w/o taxes/fees) was $90 weekday/$126 Fri which is a good value so I'd recommend the place and would most likely stay here again, though I will check out other places in the area.
This is not about a stay. However after the experience we had on the night of 7/26/2022 while delivering a Door Dash order at the Madison West Best Western, I think that the they need to reconsider who they have as their front desk person. On that night, their employee was extremely disrespectful, and his actions demonstrated that he lacks respect for people from diverse backgrounds. He should not have a front desk position if he cannot handle servicing people, or he certainly has anger management issues. As a front desk employee, I believe it is crucial to be able to interact with professionalism and to project a positive attitude. It is unbelievable the aggression, threats and language he used when being asked a room number for a Door Dash order (given that the customer who placed the Doordash order requested it be left at her door and then requested to be met by the lobby). This front desk person when asked for help in figuring out how to deliver the order for the guest, he instead yelled to " leave it on the side and stop interrupting his business". When he was approached a second time for being impolite and asked for the supervisor's phone number, he refused to give his name and supervisor's name. (Mind you, he did not speak to the other guests that were checking in with that attitude or language). He instead yelled and said " are you f*** kidding me? You need to f***** leave my property or Im going to punch you in your face," he raised his arm as if he was going to throw something. He then decided to follow my partner outside and insulted both of us, calling us sc**bags, a b****etc. While also smoking his vape pen, saying he was going to report us for traspassing property, (which we were not!) and proceeded to take pictures of our plates. His behavior towards us was truly terrifying. I thought for a moment that he would actually strike me. It is extremely unfair that someone is attempting to do their job correctly, yet someone believes it is acceptable to react in such a manner because they are merely doing their job.Due to the escalation of the situation and the fact that we were not in the wrong, I decided to contact the police; what if we have to cross paths again? Is this something that will occur again and needs to be dealt with in this manner? I do not agree. This is not correct. The police, also observed that this employee was being extremely unprofessional and rude for NO REASON. He attempted to deceive the police into believing that we were trespassing on his property and had to leave. He even began recording us after the police officer told him to go back and inside and wait. Im sure there are cameras, where you can actually see this man's behavior. After calling, leaving a voicemail, and emailing, I am extremely dissatisfied with the operations manager's decision to handle this issue. He did not return my call, but he did respond via email. It appears that he did not wish to hear our version of the story. He apologized and stated that he had spoken to the employee, who has been with the company for four years and never done this before. To me, it does not matter if you have been there 4 or 15 years! There is no justification for mistreating others as he did to us for no reason. The fact that certain people can get away with these type of behaviors is seriously wrong. I understand that companies try to protect their employees, but it should not be this way if their employees do not know how to control their anger, be respectful, or act professionally. This man's actions are unacceptable, and there must be consequences.I firmly believe that this hotel needs to rethink its hiring practices and conduct thorough background checks and interviews. I cannot believe that in the year 2022, these types of injustices continue to occur. Now consider what would happen if the situation were reversed. As someone of color, I can only imagine...
Hotel was one of the best of the best western chain hotels in which we've stayed. Employees were great as well. They provided a made to order breakfast from a chef which was extremely nice. I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Madison Wisconsin area .
We were very satisfied with the size of our room and the setup. We usually just reuse towels & sheets while staying at a hotel and did so at this Best Western. Employees were very friendly. We were home for my High School Reunion and had let a lot of other people that we were staying there so we ended up with a lot of old friends in the same place. So we had extra time to visit. Would definitely recommend staying here. Convenient location, friendly employees, clean room
The staff was great, our room was pleasant and clean, the price was quite reasonable, the location was convenient, and the breakfast was great. What more can one ask for? It was one of the best stays in a BW that we had on our entire trip which was a 3 week long trek from NC to Wyoming and back.
I was checked in quickly and smoothly. Everyone was efficient, the room was clean and had plenty of room to set up my laptop to do additional work. The hotel is located near a number of excellent restaurants and very easy to get to and jump back on the highway.
We reserved a king suite with in room jacuzzi tub. The room was large, frig, microwave, firm mattress, and the jacuzzi tub was so relaxing! The bathtub was very slippery if you don't stand on the rubber mat.
The hotel was clean. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. Also even though this was graduation weekend and the hotel was full, it was very quite. Breakfast was very good. You chose how you eggs were prepared and had a menu as to what you wanted for breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Set back and looking rather remote, this choice for a good stay is highly recommended. There are other choices in the area and I am not sure how they fare, but this one has great rooms, wonderful breakfast choices which are made fresh and hot, as well as pleasant desk personnel. Found it to be quiet which is amazing and maybe they are spacing customer rooms which is a good idea. There is no pool choice, but nice workout facilities.
I have stayed at this location several times over the years as it's close to the highway and my father's house. It's clean (although the shower drain was pretty slow in the room I was given), employees are friendly and it's reasonably priced. This last trip however, my plans changed after I checked in, and I needed to leave a day early. When I asked about this, the employee that I spoke to (the day before I wanted to leave) told me I would have to take care of getting the last day refunded through the booking site I had made the reservation on. That didn't make sense to me as I had paid at the hotel itself, but I had a lot going on, and I thought whatever I'll just call them when I get home. Silly me. Fast forward to the day after I return home and have time to call the booking site- which informs me I have to work it out with the property since I didn't pay them (the booking site) any money directly. Turns out after speaking with the front desk at the property that I was supposed to have called the booking site THE DAY I told one of their employees I needed to change the check out date. The employee on site neglected to inform me of that little, yet very important detail, so I'm out some $ for my troubles-and certainly won't be using that booking site or staying at this property again. Not necessarily a deal breaker for someone staying here I'm sure, but ask a lot of questions if you need to change something after the fact.
Customer service was very rude the lady who checked me in charged my card twice after I came back I'm with paid reservation online she has a nasty attitude and shouldn't be working in a establishment if communicating with guest about issues is a problem other then that the stay was okay but ill choose a different hotel next time
This was one of the best hotel breakfast I have had in a long time! They cooked it hot for us, eggs or pancakes or French toast. And generous servings! The hotel was clean. It was close to a lot of shopping and restaurants. I will stay there again!
This was a very unpleasant stay. I have not stayed in a hotel in over 2 years and I was extremely disappointed that both the fridge and the heating/ac unit were broken. I could not sleep. I will not return to this hotel and expected better from Best Western.
My significant other and I made reservations online with this location and when we arrived we were checked into the wrong room and then we had all our belongings taken out of the room when we arrived at the hotel for our second night we were informed of the mistake and still charged for 2 rooms at the same cost
This hotel is great value in a good location. Newly remodeled, clean and includes a cook to order breakfast. Highly recommend and we will make this our go to hotel any time we are in the Madison area.
Great location, helpful staff, fresh breakfast we plan to stay here whenever we come to Madison. Easy on and off the expressway. Nice clean room, and was upgraded to a suite without having to request one!
We were basically happy with our stay.We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. The only reason I rated room very good was because when we returned to our room on Saturday night, there had been no housekeeping service. Would have been nice to have the bed made and wastebaskets emptied. Otherwise, no complaints. The cooked to order breakfast was excellent. Breakfast area very clean. Staff was constantly wiping surfaces. Would definitely stay again.
Most of the rooms are suites (as the hotel name says). While I don't hate suites WiFi in bedroom is weak and keep getting disconnected, also have service down for like 2 hours in 1 night which is probably provider's issue. Guest laundry in the lobby and easy to access but is not very clean. Asked for late checkout and got told 11:30 is the latest, but right after 11 got a phone call to ask me to check out.
Great hotel with very friendly staff! It was an awesome surprise to be offered ANY two drinks upon check in, not just water. We enjoyed a beer and Mike's Seltzer, so great after a long drive there! (This was based on our Gold Level, so don't expect it if you are just “anyone”.) They do a great hot breakfast. The only thing keeping me from giving it a perfect rating is the water. It's that kind of water where you feel like you never get the soap off your hands, slimy. If this is something they can control, it needs to be remedied! I think they probably just need to try a different water softener.
While too many hotels are cheaping out with packaged unhealthy breakfasts goods, this hotel offers a hot made to order breakfast. You can order eggs or a pancake option. ( they should give you both if you want them.) also bacon and I think sausage if you preferred that instead of bacon. Also had some fruit. Did I say the food was made to order! The room was clean, the hotel pretty quiet, the room was large. Nothing super special about the room, but no complaints. There are several good options in the immediate vicinity as well as stores and a mall . (Like most malls, not as many stores as in the past.) Felt very safe. Nice staff. Convenient parking spot. Price was competitive. Would stay again.
Suite layout makes for quiet sleeping in the back of the room. Hot breakfast was good. Appreciated that the dining room windows were open for fresh air and ventilation during Desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating when we needed a different room for scent sensitivity.
We will stay here again. The staff was very friendly and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was made to order and also had other items on the breakfast bar area with enough options. We have stayed here a couple of times and will do so again in the future.
Could have usb receptacles in the rooms. Luckily we brought a multi usb plug and extension cord. Nice made to order breakfast. Decaf coffee Luke warm. Nice size room/ suite with two TVs. Frig and microwave. Didn't like the soak tube used as a shower. Slippery. Not sure all the rooms had the soak tub.
Had to ask for pots, pans and dishes to use kitchen area. Handles missing on some cabinets. Overall pleasant stay. Pet friendly. Excellent hot breakfast with multiple options . Very helpful and friendly staff.
Great for its price! A little bit old but clean. Staff were very kind and helpful and provided us a whole set of cookware/dinnerware. Hot breakfast served as individual order, which tasted great and was really amazing!
Our trip in Madison, WI was excellent in no small part due to the Best Western we stayed at. Only complaint is that the location is somewhat out of the way if you want to avoid renting a car. Overall great experience.
The hotel was very clean, spacious and even with the changes to the breakfast due to Covid, it was an excellent breakfast. My stay exceeded my expectations and I will totally try to stay here again the next time I visit the area.
When my college-aged daughter returned to her apartment after working all day to find it uninhabitable due to a flooring/plumbing issue, Troy at the front desk was very helpful in finding us an affordable room in a pinch where she could camp out until she was able to return to her apartment. We will definitely book here for future trips to Madison campus! The room was clean and comfortable and staff were so helpful and friendly!
The checkin clerk was new and truly incompetent. Took 25 minutes to check me in even though I had done precheckin. Failed to explain how room cleaning was handled so I never got any new coffee, toiletries etc. the checkout clerk was superb and apologized for this. And facilities and breakfast were great.
We visited to help our daughter move. We brought our dog. The room was clean. The "hot" water was only warm :(. However the staff was very welcoming and friendly and really made the stay nice. It is located by a large mall with plenty of dining choices within minutes as well as mall stores should you need something. We will be staying her again when we visit Madison in the future.
This hotel was very nice. Excellent service and staff. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The staff are friendly and outgoing. Enjoyed the breakfast which was made to order. Would stay again in the future
This is a well-run, comfortable, and clean hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Any requests or questions are handled and answered promptly and to the guest's satisfaction. I highly recommend this hotel!
The Hotel was very clean and nicely updated. We had a large refrigerator and range top along with a microwave in our room. . Excellent made to order breakfast with COVID safety measures in place. Efficient check in and check out. Very good value for a trip to Madison.
While traveling across to Madison from the West for a funeral and we stayed at a couple of hotels along the drive. When we got to Madison we were greeted with a very helpful and informative host "John" and this was a pleasant surprise from the average reception. The lobby was welcoming and the hotel smelled very clean, he had just moped the lobby and the sanitation was inviting during COVID 2020. He helped us with our luggage and when we arrived at the suite there was a clean sanitation seal across the door, again making us feel very safe! The room was comfortably large with the space to feel at home and as we were not sure we could go out and about town due to the pandemic restrictions, we knew we had made a good choice. Each day of our stay there were friendly people at the front desk and the breakfast was prepared hot and fresh each day to order by "Matt"! We found the mattress and bedding also a welcome change as sometimes with other hotels the mattress will be less commfortable and we slept well during the 3 day stay. There were a couple of things we requested during our stay and each request was immediately taken care of. We are seasoned travelers and "All in All" we give BW West 10/10. Good job!!
The hotel looked a little less appealing from the outside in person. The room was really nice (jacuzzi room) and it was mostly quiet throughout our time in the hotel. There were a lot of people who just looked a little bit more on the sketchy side. I don't really like judging people and i'm not from the big city, but a lot of them looked a little bit dirtier than the average person.
Nice place indeed and looks like they made a few improvements with the decor here. I have stayed here in the past and this was the nicest room! Great new lighting for the sink area and comfy chairs added. New mattresses? Feels like it. Great sleep.
When I came to the room it was open with the lock holding the door open. I found it a little difficult to breath but thought it was just the air conditioning. As I stayed in the room longer it was still a little tightness in breathing but I started to untuck the bed and a crack pipe and rock falls out from under the mattress! How did this place get a clean award. The front desk clerk asked if I was staying in the same room but he wouldn't remove the crack pipe if I wasn't! SMH! Ummmm yes give me a new room and a refund! Don't stay here!!!!!
Rooms and hotel were clean and hot made to order breakfast was delicious. Room was very comfortable, there is noise from walking in hallways - although we've had that other places as well. We appreciated masks worn any time out of the room for safety as well
This is the third time I have stayed at Best Western West Towne Suites. There have been small problems on each trip, and I overlooked them due to the great location and price. However, this trip was the last straw and I won't be returning. I call each time to confirm and to let them know we are traveling with two dogs. I asked for the same room as our last trip, which was convenient with the dogs. The male I spoke with advised they don't keep record of what room we stayed in. So I described the location of the room. We were given a room at the complete opposite end and on the bottom floor (I asked for second floor.) I was also told when I inquired about having a kitchenette, "They all have them." The first two times we were given a kitchenette, but this time we were not. We had the smallest refrigerator I have ever seen and a small microwave. Fine. Then we found a sock right in the middle of the flour and a Wendy's fry container sitting on the nightstand. There are no vending machines, but there are some drinks by the front desk. Diet pepsi, gatorade, water and beer. One night my son had an upset stomach and some sprite or ginger ale would have been nice. There was no table in the room. So if we had dinner one person could sit at the little desk, but we couldn't sit together. Lastly, we found a tick in the room on our last day. Not necessarily the motel's fault, but seemed a symbol for the whole experience. I will look elsewhere.
My boyfriend and I have been staying here for over 3 months while looking for a permanent place to live. All of the staff have been great to work with. I have primarily talked with Troy and John and they have provided exceptional customer service and have been very accommodating - from providing an extra refrigerator due to Safer at Home recommendations to last minute stay extensions. Housekeeping has cheerfully gotten us anything we've needed as well. The room itself is very roomy, with a super comfortable bed and a shower head with many settings, both things I greatly appreciate. Definitely the #1 place I will recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in Madison.
This hotel amazed us from the day and night staff whom were extremely friendly, fun and knowledgeable! The room very spacious, clean and updated! Most pleasant surprise and bonus was the breakfast with made to order omelets! Yum! Highly recommend!
Good location, close to shopping, restaurants, Beltline and family. Nice rooms and good amenities. I arrived right after a snowstorm and the parking lot could have been cleaned better, but it was close to 4 degrees. Otherwise, good place.
I was staying in Madison for my Epic training. The hotel felt really cozy and the staff was friendly and warm, especially Troy and the shuttle driver. The shuttle service was prompt and convenient as it could bring guests to the nearby west towne mall.
The Best Western West Towne Suites is an extremely friendly, clean and modern choice to stay in the Madison area. Using the loyalty club you get an economical choice not in all the hub bub of the city, but a real close commute. The rooms are well maintained and the staff is always available with a friendly smile. The main thing that keeps drawing me back here is the breakfast experience. Included with your stay is a cooked to order egg, pancake or french toast experience along with all the other amenities that the rest of the compitition have to offer. As long as they are welcoming, I will be returning.
Rooms were comfortable as well were the beds, dog friendly was a real plus. great delicious hot breakfast served till 10 AM, cheerful staff that went out of way to say hello, and the mini market was well stocked.
This is our 3rd time staying at this hotel and we will be back. The staff are freindly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the breakfast ia above average in terms of selection and quality.
This is my favorite place to stay when visiting Wisconsin to see our daughter. The facility is clean, the location is close to the college, close to restaurants and shopping, right off the highway and has the friendliest staff! Always enjoyable when I stay! I've never had any issues with my room or any noise complaints and they are dog friendly so we bring our little ones with us. Great hot breakfast also!
Our room was clean and nicely furnished but we discovered a crack in the tub. We reported it to the desk...their response was quick and effective. We were relocated to an executive suite at no additional charge. They went above and beyond our expectations. We truly appreciated it.
Very convenient and accommodating. Although I never eat breakfast so early as I have to leave a hot breakfast is a great offering. It is my first choice when I get snow bound and they always are welcoming.
I stay here once or twice a year, when I visit my kids - consistently well run, clean, comfortable. I really like the breakfast which is made-to-order eggs/omelet, or french toast/pancakes. A cut above the other breakfast buffets. They also have coffee 24/7 in the lobby. Staff is always very pleasant and helpful. I've never had a problem/issue, but I have a feeling my concerns would be addressed appropriately. This is my "go-to" place when I come to Madison.
Ive only walked out of 2 hotels in my life and this was number 2! Daniele was SO rude to me when we discovered black mold in our ac vent that blows right over the bed. She told me we could just go find a better hotel after she tried to insult my intelligence, by telling me it's paint splatters. It was nowhere else...just on that vent. The maintenance guy at the next hotel we went to told me, it was definitely mold!! This was the 2nd room we were given, because the first room we were checked in to and given keys to, hadn't even BEGUN to be cleaned!! I opened the door to trash everywhere and the sofa bed pulled out. NEVER going back to this hotel again!!
We were in Madison for a funeral and needed a place to stay. We got in about 1030 pm so didn't get to take advantage of the amenities. The breakfast was made to order - the eggs were good, the potatoes not so great.
We have stayed at this BW other times we have been in Madison. The lobby is stocked with additional items you may need. The breakfast in the morning is one of the better ones we have experienced. Our room is always clean and in order for a good night's sleep. You will enjoy your time at this BM motel.
good hotel, clean, good high speed wifi. nice hot breakfast. other amenities such as a washing machine and dryer to do your own laundry. the people on the desk are very attentive and obliging. no complaints about anything.
While the room is fine, it was the service at the front desk that mortified me. Each time I was in the lobby there was no one at the desk and I had to wait. My biggest issue was the woman at the front desk standing out the front door socializing, leaning on a car and smoking a cigarette while customers were waiting. This is a BIG fail.
Our stay at this hotel was extremely pleasant! The facilities were well maintained and clean. The entire staff was courteous and very helpful! I would highly recommend consideration be given to this hotel when visiting Madison, WI!
Decent rooms and bathrooms, easy free parking, friendly straff, convenient location. We stayed for one night on our cross country trip and would definitely come back if the occasion arises. Madison seems to be a friendly place, and this hotel is certainly no exception.
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and I'm always satisfied with my room and hot breakfast in the morning. The front desk is always kind and very helpful. I always stay here when I'm in the Madison area.
We enjoyed our stay. It was convenient, easy to find, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is made to order and was delicious. Everything was more than satisfactory and we will certainly stay here again when we are in the area.
We were upgraded to a suite which was delightful. We were happy with everything and this place is close to an indoor mall which has a Cheesecake Factory-love that! Very easy to get to this place. We would stay here again if we were every in Madison. The made to order breakfast was especially yummy!
Here again. A year later. Not much has changed. Bathtub drain ran slow (get to stand in water while taking a shower). Fixed. Day later. Housekeeping threw away the toiletries from the previous day and left two lotions and conditioner. A little hard to wash the hair with that. Breakfast. We ended up in line at 9:40 for the end rush. All unoccupied tables dirty. Condiments missing. It took 30 minutes for food to appear after ordering as there was one person cooking. The other person, a man, stood around some, moved a pile of dirty dishes and attempted to restock a few things only after a guest asked. I know this is economy class, but why does economy come with unkempt and missing the basics at this property such as clean tables, toiletries, bath tub that drains. Geesh. Other less expensive chains manage.
My husband and I wanted to get away for the weekend. We could not have been more pleased with our choice of hotel. I have stayed at many hotels in the past, but this is by far one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The bed was very comfortable and the service was great. The best was the hot made to order breakfast that was included with your stay. The layout of the room was very nice as well. It was very roomy. It even had a small regular fridge, not a mini fridge.
The only redeeming quality of this hotel is their breakfast. Other than that, our experience was atrocious. The room temperature was stuck at 74. Even though there was a temperature control panel set for 56, there was nothing they could do about it because "that's just how the rooms are". Though one kind soul on staff that day provided us with a box fan, their staff are the most unprofessional I have ever encountered within a hotel chain. We have a toddler and a spill occurred on our bed. We called down to the front desk, explained the situation and was told someone would be up to change things. We returned 5 hours later, after leaving for the afternoon, and nothing was done. We called down again, and the front desk staff came up, went, "I can't change this for you I'm the only one here", dropped down sheets and left. We had to go down and convince them to even provide us with a blanket (which didn't even fit the king sized bed) then proceed to change our own bed. Avoid this particular hotel if at all possible. It's not worth the $200 a night.
Room was OK. Breakfast was very good. Choice of three made by a cook meals—pancakes, French toast or eggs all with potatoes and bacon or sausage. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because the room was so damp. You needed the air conditioning but the air conditioning caused the dampness. Nothing dried. Very uncomfortable.
We stayed here for 1 night. The hotel was very clean and we'll decorated. We booked a 2 bed queen room and it had a pull out couch (room 138). The room was one of the biggest I've had, plenty of space for my family of 5. The bathroom was large as well. They give you a voucher on arrival for a made to order breakfast that's free. They made eggs, omlets, French toast however you like them. It also served potato and your choice of bacon or sausage. They also had dry cereal, bagels, muffins and fruit as well as juice, coffee and milk. The breakfast was the best I've had for free in my travels. The staff was friendly and our room had np issues that needed to be addressed. The hotel is in a great location. Tons of shopping (regular department stores and thrift stores) near by as well as tons of food options. I will definitely stay here again. Only downside is no pool and the bed wasn't very comfortable. It's possible it's just not the mattress I'm used to and it's fine for someone else. Our room was only $135 with taxes for 1 night. Great value for all you got.
Old place that has been renovated as well as have ever seen. Quiet. We got a suite with a hide a bed couch. Great cable line up with HBO. You order a hot breakfast in the morning at no extra charge! Located close to a major mall with plenty of shopping. Good rate. Would stay here again!
At first, I was disappointed that this location was so far from the UW campus but after the drive into the city with all the campus traffic, we were more than pleased with this location. Easy access to a great mall and wonderful golf at the Pleasant View Golf Course. My husband kept raving about the free breakfast which was cook to order with options like French toast and omelettes. All the staff we encountered were very welcoming and responsive.
Had a very good stay at this hotel. It was clean and no noticeable smell in the hall or rooms(which is great) our room was a large king suite with a spa tub. It was clean the tub worked great. Very relaxing after a long day on the motorcycle. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was cook to order which the staff again did a fantastic job of getting orders out quickly. Overall this place was great and if I head up that way again would definitely stay again.
Stayed at Best Western Town Suites in Madison, WI. We are moving a family member and stayed at the Best Western on day 2. Needed a pet friendly hotel. Property was very nice and the rooms were great. The breakfast was very good. There are also a lot of good places to eat nearby.
The price was very good for the area. Beds were comfortable and in great shape. The room was quiet dark and cool for a good sleep. The room and bathroom were clean. We had excellent service at front desk.
As slow as bathtub drain was - e.g. 20 minutes to drain after shower turned off. There is no way cleaning staff could not have noticed. It was disgusting to stand in dirty shower water over the top of my feet while taking a shower. I mentioned this to hotel staff during checkout and the only thing they responded with was that they would let maintenance know. No empathy for disgusting experience of me and my son standing in the nasty water.
What lovely staff! Everyone we came into contact with was smiling and helpful. We felt so welcome. Rooms are good size, clean, comfy bed and good AC and facilities with fridge etc. Parking is free and it's only a two stores building so we used the lively wide staircase to go to our room. There's a small gym but we didn't use it. Breakfast is a huge plus. There are freshly cooked to order omelette and pancake options, cereals, bagels, juices etc. You feel set up for the day! If we are ever back, we'll stay here. Why pay more when this very reasonably priced option has it all.
This was a very nice stay. We need a per friendly hotel and usually have to make sacrifices on OUR need for cleanliness and quality. Not the case with this hotel. We had a large suite, very clean & well kept. The breakfast was much superior to the usual free breakfast. Instead of cereal & sweet rolls, we were able to have eggs prepared to order every morning. Also a convenient location for our visit, near restaurants & shops & easy highway access. I would recommend this hotel.
This place is gross, walls are paper this and you can hear everything thing from the adjoining rooms and doors slamming all day and night. The place seems to cater to construction workers and when I complained about the noise the desk attendant could care less. The breakfast is gross as well. I travel a lot of work and this place is the worst I've stayed in as of late. The picture of the front is misleading, it doesn't represent that you'll find in the dark, dingy rooms and our dated decor. Do yourself a favor and find something else.
The only plus about this hotel was the sizes of the room/ beds. It was fairly pricey and our first room had a broken TV, wobbly lights, broken window screens, spiders all over in the windows so they couldn't be opened and the room was musty. For the price, you would think the hotel had a pool/ hot tub but it doesn't. The "free" breakfast isn't free because you pay per person in the room and get 1 ticket per person to redeem for breakfast. The potatoes in our breakfast were raw and cold so it just wasn't worth it for me and my family.
The property was clean, did not have a pool or hot tub. The size of the suite was adequate, with a very nice size shower with an oversize on/off handle. The beds were very nice and firm. They had a hot breakfast with real eggs and cubed potatoes but were very small portions with no second on the eggs or potatoes or sausage. We stayed on the first and there was too much noise after 10 PM for my comfort.
Check-in was a breeze. The clerk was friendly, courteous and efficient. He read the special request in the reservation and found me a room that met our needs perfectly. He ensured that I received all points I was due and had me to my room in no time at all. The room was very clean and well maintained, as well as the rest of the hotel. After a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed, there is nothing better than a nice breakfast. The Best Western West Towne Suites have stepped up their game in this area. They offer the usual yogurt, toast, bagels and juice that all other hotels offer these days. The topper is the made to order breakfast available. Included in your economical room rate is your choice of eggs, pancakes or French Toast with bacon/sausage and potatoes. The friendly chef will prepare this just for you while the breakfast room attendant is constantly ensuring everything else is neat, clean and stocked. Everyone is friendly and outgoing, ensuring a pleasant stay. Just like coming home.
very big, clean comfortable room. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed the garden tub after traveling a few hours. Ample parking. Close to shopping and eating areas. Breakfast was made to order and delicious.
This hotel's price is the best for what you get. Cooked to order breakfast is really a good deal. Quiet hotel. Good night's sleep. Save you money for doing other fun things in Madison. Clean and upgraded rooms.
Great hotel, clean, looks newly updated, close to many things. We had a horse show at the Allegiant Center- price was very good compared to hotels close to center, only 6 miles away. I would definitely recommend this hotel
This is my favorite Best Western. The hotel is up to date and very clean. Every room has a microwave and fridge. This hotel has a hot made to order breakfast. The hotel has a wonderful and helpful front desk .
Decent hotel at a good price. Alittle bit of noise from the floor above, but good overall. Seemed like it was fixed up recently, room pretty clean. Free breakfast was a good option, left to early to take advantage of it. Good for a one night stay.
The room was spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly and the best continental breakfast we have every had. You tell them how you want your eggs and they make right then. They were hot and cooked to perfection. Not your average hotel breakfast!
I was worried when I pulled up and there were no cars in the parking lot, BUT... I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it was as were the staff. The room was very nice and CLEAN (most important!)j. It's an easy Uber ride to the mall and/or restaurants. They don't have an airport shuttle, so take an Uber/Lyft!!! The taxi ride was $50 - wow! I should have done more research on that part... Overall, it was a great place to stay, and I'd choose it again.
Home away from home. Love the suites. Nice breakfast Clean rooms Excellent location Ample parking Friendly staff Free shuttle Would have been awesome had the treadmill in fitness room is working. Overall a great property
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here this year. It is quiet, comfortable and easy to get to. As early risers we can always get tea & coffee. Breakfast is made to order. We will continue to stay here when visiting Madison.
My husband and I stayed here one night for a quick trip to Madison, WI. Nice rooms. Staff was nice. The breakfast was fresh and hot. Nice place for the price! The location was convenient for us as well.
Overall, I would rate this hotel as average to good. It is a useful option when staying in this area. It is close to the freeway and many restaurants. The front desk staff was very welcoming, professional, and efficient. The inside of the building is much better than the outside. My room and other areas looked recently refurbished. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. Sheets, towels, and pillows were average. My breakfast experience was not good one day, but acceptable on a second day. Because the hotel was busy, I experieinced a very long wait for a cooked-to-order option. Other items were not extensive. I felt safe staying at this hotel.
Best Western was less than 4 miles from Children's Hospital, grand daughter was having surgery the next day, so we didn't have far to go, when we checked in & I mentioned she was having surgery we got a discount on our stay, our room & breakfast was great, we will definitely stay here for her future surgeries!
Rooms were not clean and expectations were that we the guests should fix the problem. It was if the cleaning service had not changed the sheets on the pull out sofa nor cleaned the tops of the furniture which werre covered with melted hard candy.
We were in town to visit UW-Madison and choose this hotel based on reviews. Very happy with the stay! Staff was very friendly, room was clean, and the bed pillows were AWESOME! Breakfast was delish and made to order. Quick service! Location is the best! Right across the street from the mall and has everything within a few min in either direction. Will definitly stay here again with out question!
I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel was comparable to other more expensive chains we stay at. Great location, close to mall with lots of shopping and restaurants. Room was Clean and comfortable! My daughter liked the complimentary breakfast!
Stayed here one night on our way thru town. Nice hotel very spacious. Comfortable beds. Pet friendly. Rooms were nice for the dogs to run around. Check in was easy. Breakfast was good. Overall good hotel. I'd stay again
Worst experience ever. My toilet was clogged in my room. I called the front desk repeatedly and no answer. I walked to the lobby and they were all chatting with one another. I told the person at the front desk about my issue. He laughed and offered me a used plunger. I understand that plungers are often used, but this one was freshly used, wet, and wrapped in a garbage bag. I had to walk back to my room past the lobby and dining room. How embarassing. Will not come back or recommend.
1st booked a double king room - didn't get a double king. 2nd the room was dirty. The sheets had someone else hairs on them. 3rd no hot tub, and no pool. The hot tub and pool were picture on the website I placed my reservation on. Never again.
We have stayed here several times, and always a good experience. Great made to order breakfast. Breakfast area is clean and well stocked. One time had reported to the front desk at checkout that room could have been cleaner and they were very responsive. Our room has always been very quiet for a good nights sleep and beds are always comfortable. Property has been updated with new carpet, etc. Only complaint I would have is that they only have a thin sheet like blanket on the bed, and when I asked for an extra blanket it was a really old ratty pilly blanket, but It was clean
Our second stay here and we'll definitely be back. The staff at the front desk are so friendly and the rooms are a nice size. Our room had a full-size fridge with freezer, stovetop and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Also enjoyed the complimentary made-to-order hot breakfast.
In town for medical appointments. Although a mixed compliment of guests from business professionals to constructions workers, the grounds and Hotel interior wonderfully maintained. Friendly and quick check-in with an upgrade offered. My favorite part of the West Towne Suites is the breakfast. Besides the usual hotel breakfast fare, you have your choice of eggs or French Toast cooked to order. Just that extra touch means alot.
I love Best Western hotels! I was able to book a room last minute, they lock the doors at 11 for safety (bonus!), and breakfast is made to order. You get 3 pieces of bacon, I couldn't resist! I look forward to coming here again!
We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western West Towne on our recent visit to Madison for a football weekend. Our room was incredibly spacious and very clean. The bathroom was big, and the shower was wonderfully oversized, with great water pressure and temperature. We had a room with 2 super-comfy king beds, which was perfect for our four person group (My husband, 2 teenage daughters, and me). Very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast options were great, and freshly made. All-in-all, a very pleasant stay at a fairly reasonable price. Very satisfied!
I stayed at the Best Western last week. October 18th - 20th. The reservation was in my husbands name Christopher Smith. The first night we stayed we noticed there was blonde hairs in our bed so we decided to take the sheets off the bed so that house keeping would put new linens on. After being gone most of the day we returned back to our room at 2 PM and noticed the room hadn't been clean. I saw a gentleman pushing a cart and he assured me our room would be cleaned. At 4:00 we noticed nobody came to clean our room. My husband went to speak with someone at the front desk to inquire before we left to go to a funeral. Daniel S. (employee) begin to put the blame on us and said well maybe you all had a do no disturb on your door. (Not truth) Then he stated it's not our fault you all took the sheets off your bed. Finally he said there's nothing I can do, our house keeping is gone for the day. This is horrible customer service, never once did Daniel say let me see what we can do. A simple let me grab some clean sheets would've been okay. Considering Best Westerns motto is about being dedicated to providing the best possible travel experience...well that didn't happen. On top of that I left my fitbit watch in the room, I've called several times and I've been put in voicemail each time. I know I left it on the side table in the room. How lazy for an employee not to go and check the "lost and found." I was definitely disappointed. This was our first time staying at a Best Western and will probably be our last.
the staff at this Best Western could teach a class on customer service. Everyone we dealt with during our stay was very pleasant and helpful. premises was clean and well kept, breakfast was awesome. Will definitely stay here again.
Whenever business takes me to Madison WI, I stay at this hotel. The staff and manager are exceptional, the complementary made to order breakfast definitely beats other free hotel breakfasts. The hotel provides a limited area shuttle, an extraordinary feature, a friendly ride to and from the office is a real luxury.
I'm loving that the Best Western chain is rebranding and cleaning up their image. Whenever my client books me at a Best Western I cringe and immediately go online to look at pictures and reviews. I've been pleasantly surprised more often than not. Kudos to you Best Western! This one in Madison is definitely a pleasant surprise. Nice, clean, spacious rooms, the bed was comfortable, the sheets were CRISP. And what REALLY added to my #BWsmiles was the fact that the complimentary breakfast was, indeed, a REAL MADE TO ORDER breakfast!! There was a real person back there cooking real eggs for omelets! Good job BW Madison!
I booked this hotel for 4 different weekends August through October 2018. Consistently clean. Good location to get to downtown. And allows pets (I traveled with dogs - one of the reasons for selecting BW). Rooms. Color scheme is a variety of greys and blacks - well used (close to being tired). Clean. But not cheery. In fact by the fourth visit I found the decor depressing. Rooms varied - one had a kitchenette dating to about 1980 with a tub faucet that did not allow enough hot water through (luke warm shower) and a spider web dangling from the ceiling. A different room had a table with a bent leg. A third was completely together with a bathroom that was overly dark - No lighting above the toilet that was around a tub corner from the sink. All rooms have lumpy beds. They became familiar with repeated visits, but I would not consider comfortable. Also, for me the embedded dust in the furnishings was VERY palpable as I am sensitive to dust mites. Heavily so compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Perhaps time for deep cleaning and new furniture. Traveling with dogs. Booking on the hotel website and adding "traveling with two dogs" in the comments is never carried over into the actual reservation. One evening I arrived late, checked in. Brought in all luggage and then returned through the lobby with my two dogs - A standard poodle and miniature poodle. Well behaved. Near show quality in appearance. The hotel clerk stopped me and somewhat grumpily said "there is a $20 charge per dog" as though I were trying to pull one over on the hotel (Um - walking through lobby past desk with said dogs). I knew the actual rate is $20 for both, not each - so not right and absolutely not friendly. And replied I noted I was traveling with dogs in my reservation request. Out came the form to sign away my first born child if something were to go wrong. A different hotel I am in staying in today was gracious and friendly about my dogs - no "sign away my first born child" form. Breakfast included with the room is good, but the friendliness of staff varies from overworked to grumpy. Especially the woman who appears to run the breakfast kitchen. Also there is a man who monitors the tables and buffet food inventory. But he allowed dirty dishes to pile up, tables to remain unwashed simply watching. It seems his job was to make sure no one was trying to get a free breakfast instead of doing anything to help keep the breakfast food stocked, tables clear or dirty dishes cleared away somewhere. My last booking was the most frustrating. I booked the same day I arrived as among all the things I needed to get done with moving out of a house and then traveling to Madison, making a reservation was well down the list. This was for my fourth visit withing 8 weeks. If you do not reserve a few days ahead of time, the rate increases. The day I booked and stayed my bill was $300 for my grey room and grumpy staff. And we missed getting breakfast by 8 minutes as it closed at 9:00 AM. The budget hotel I am staying in today has breakfast until 10 am. Considering the chaos of the previous day, late arrival and the day waiting for me (travel with my mother in-law whose husband died a few weeks ago) this was NOT helpful. Overall, I choose West Towne as it would allow me to travel with my dogs, was close to my mother-in law's downtown residence and had a more affordable rate. It is clean. Quiet. Dated, Dusty, Lump, Cranky. I was stressed, busy selling a house and needed somewhere to stay without thinking much about it. I will look elsewhere in the future.
The staff always seemed to be willing to go beyond what you could expect. We got this room after another hotel left a text less 20 hours before check-in and we had had that reservation for 29 days to say they did not have a room for us. This staff would have done anything to help us
Very clean, comfortable hotel with an excellent breakfast selection.Easy accessibility and comfortable bedding. Our room was very quiet, even being across the hall from the elevator. Great location near shopping, food.
They are Horrible!! It's all staff from India so there's a language barrier. So when you make a reservation they can't get the dates right. So then the charge you for days you didn't even stay. I tried to get them to work with the front desk manager and they all argued and called me stupid for not making the reservations right.
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK: I booked this hotel just last week in Madison. I was there for two days and needed a last minute reservation. I went to check in and the front desk supervisor his name is Daniel advised me that my room is still not ready. However he said there was a suite available but at an up charge. I did not want to pay extra and thought I would wait for me room. As I was entering the hotel I noticed a sign for an offer that gets you $20 gift card if it is your first time staying with them and it was for me so I asked him about it and he said that it expired yesterday (the day before I got there). At the moment I knew something was fishy. So I got in my car and called Expedia to cancel my reservation because the front desk supervisor gave me attitude and was talking to me in a very condescending way. Expedia called the hotel to cancel and the supervisor told the expedia rep that my room was ready but I did not want to check in. I was very upset when the front desk supervisor tried to make it as if it was problem. he told expedia that the reservation is nonrefundable and they cant refund for the reservation and it is up to me to stay or leave. I called corporate office and spoke with customer service and they confirmed that the $20 offer was expired since September 3rd, at least 8 days after I was trying to check in so the front desk supervisor was just lazy and they never took it down and lied about it being expired just the day before i got there. The corporate office sent an official complaint to the general manager and I still havent heard back. I called the front desk again and spoke with Daniel and asked him to provide me with an email for their management or to speak with one of their managers, his response was management is out of office until the end of the week. Mind you that I called afternoon on a tuesday. I then asked him for their email and he said you can come and pick up a business card. I said can you just give it to me over the phone since I am not near the hotel and he said no he can't. The way that I Was treated by this supervisor is absolutely utterly disgusting. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism with all the hotels that I have stayed worldwide. I yet have to hear back from management in regards to this issue. Before you book at this hotel, do yourself a favor and save yourself the insult from the acting manager and do not book there.
Clean hotel with brand new beds. Hot Breakfast Made To Order, along with all the usual cold food items. No pool but the place is well maintained and very clean. I will stay here again when in this area.
Here for UGM Epic. 15 minutes away by car from Epic. This hotel is firmly average. The bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable. Towels were ample. There is a little fridge and microwave. There is one chair to sit in. One desk. No USB charging outlets so bring your own. Whirlpool was very nice. TV was okay. I wouldn't call it a suite, just a larger room. You need a ticket to get hot breakfast. Hotel staff was fine. Room AC was comfortable, not too loud.
I was very surprised at how clean and modern the room was. I was only there for one night but it was a great experience and was treated very well. I would recommend this location to anyone especially if traveling to watch Wisconsin football games.
This hotel consists of normal rooms and mini suites. We had a nice suite on the corner over look a wonderful green space. The rooms are very large as is the. Bathroom . We had a sofa, tv, fridge, microwave etc. The bed was great. The feature which stands out for this hotel is the breakfast., wow! A full, hot cooked to,order breakfast plus all the normal continental selections. It was wonderful. Great price for,our stay
Clean lobby, breakfast room, and guest room. Conveniently located to Breese Stevens Field for Ultimate Frisbee tournament, yet well priced. Plenty of parking. Breakfast choices are made-to-order: pancakes, French toast, eggs to your liking, or an omelet, all served with bacon or link sausage. Coffee tasted good. Fridge in room is convenient. Pleasant staff.
This was the second time that we've stayed at this hotel. The experience was excellent again. Very comfortable suite. The bed was great, got a good night's sleep. Will visit again. This is a go-to destination.
We stayed one night. The king room was large, nicely furnished, and comfortable. It had a kithcenette with a large fridge/freezer, which we appreciated. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. The made to order eggs for breakfast, along with the good selection of other items was nice. The bathroom was clean with good counter space. We enjoyed the stay and would stay again if in the area. The room here was less costly than rooms closer to downtown.
My wife was in an accident and admitted to the University Hospital. Daniel was great in getting me settled without worrying about how long I might have to stay in Madison. He was supportive and reassured me that he would work it out. He later went out of his way to make sure that I could get a meal delivered the night that I brought my wife to the hotel.
Great location to stay in, it is about 20 minuets to downtown, 15 minuets to Whole Foods Market , about 12 minuets to the Alliant Energy Center and many parks, restaurants in the area. Our room was serviced daily and clean. Breakfast was a plus here with simple choices. Thank you for your service.
We stayed at the Best Western West Town Suites on our very first trip to Madison. We chose the BW over other hotels because it had the "made to order" breakfast option, the price was reasonable and the hotel had been newly renovated. The front desk check-in staff was super friendly with easy check-in process. Our room was clean and tidy with nice soaps and shampoo. It did have a little bit of a musty odor but a few hits of room spray helped, otherwise would have given a 5 star for the room. The hotel is a ways out from downtown Madison (~15 minutes) and all the local shops, restaurants, the Capital and the Square; however, we did not mind driving because there was so much to see and the isthmus is just gorgeous. We would definitely stay here again, great value for your money.
Having a two room suite with a kitchen is exactly what we need. The room was perfect! I thought I had that booked but when we got to the room there was no kitchen, but when I went back to the front desk to make a complaint the friendly front desk person corrected the problem immediately. Comfortable, clean room.
Bed was very comfortable, hotel is in a great location, the staff was very professional and friendly, and the breakfast was awesome! All of the above at a great price! Would definitely stay here again.
Very nice room with comfy bed at a reasonable price. Perfect location only a few blocks from shopping of all kinds. Made to order breakfast was very good as well. Will continue to stay here on my trips to Madison. WI !!
This was the first time I had stayed at this hotel and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. No concerns at all and I think I actually slept for more than four hours, which means the bed was comfortable.
Very nice Best Western. We had a king room very spacious clean and the beds are really comfortable so you get a good nights rest plus the hotel itself is very quiet. The made to order breakfast was a nice touch a lot better than sweet rolls and cereal. The front desk associates are very friendly and helpful always smiling and greet you when you come and go. The renovations that have been done make the hotel look very nice. The lobby was clean and organized along with the breakfast area. The hotel is in a good location plenty of things to do and plenty of restaurants close by. If your ever plan a trip to Madison diffinitly stay here it's well worth the money.
I had never stayed at this hotel before, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and value of our stay. The front desk staff was very attentive, and they were able to give us two of the few adjoining rooms so that I could have close access to my elderly parents. The rooms are large and very comfortable, and the included breakfast in the morning was actually made to order from a list of 3 options. Besides those 3 choices, there was also a buffet of the standard continental breakfast items. If you are in Madison for a longer stay, this hotel also has a guest laundry facility. I would definitely choose this hotel again when staying in Madison.
Good hotel choice with the usual Best Western amenities. Good breakfast included and friendly, helpful staff. Location was convenient, but need a car to get to restaurants and the nearby shopping center.
Arrived later on Wednesday.. we were tired from being on road all day.. found out I couldn't use my points for our room, was disappointed, but ok. Got to our room, it was nice and roomy, king size beds. I did find 3 hairs on our bed when I pulled down the covers, sheets appeared clean, so must have been the person who made the bed. Also found hair in our bathroom too. I did report to front desk and she apologized. The shower screamed at us when we took a shower, something to do with hot water. I told front desk and she promptly sent a maintenance man, he did try to fix it and it seemed to work for a bit, but then went back to the way it was before. I do recommend the breakfast. It is made to order and they do a nice job getting everyone's breakfast fixed in a timely manner. It was very yummy!
This is a wonderful place to stay. It is very conveniently located in Madison. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and spacious. The breakfast omelets were made to order but the selection of ingredients was limited. There are a few gluten-free options for cereal and breads. Coffee and tea in the breakfast area are available 24 hours. The staff was genuinely helpful and happy. We needed to wash a load of laundry. Good location and not too expensive. We will stay here again.
The location and outside are a bit misleading. The renovation has made this older hotel quite lovely inside. Nice lobby and breakfast area and great workout room and location. Rooms were very nice and breakfast was great! Would definitely stay there again!
This location is very convenient to the belt line (Hwy 12/18) around Madison's west side. The West Town mall is very close as well as many restaurant options. There is no pool on property. The room was large and had a good shower (pressure, shower head functioned well). There was a wet bar with refrigerator & microwave which was convenient. The floor above us was very squeaky so we could hear the person above us walking around the entire stay. Breakfast was different than most BW I've stayed at in the area. They give you breakfast vouchers when you check in that are good for a “made to order” breakfast. You can choose from one of the following: an omelette, eggs, pancakes or french toast. Each option comes with potatoes and either bacon or sausage. Don't ask for an omelette AND pancakes etc - you are only allowed one option which is plenty of food in addition to the pastries, toast etc available. We sat near the kitchen & many people asked for two options and the staff was still very courteous each time they declined.
This hotel has become my go-to location when visiting family in Madison. It's recently remodeled and is very clean and comfortable. The location is great- easy to get on 12/18 to get to most everywhere in Madison. The nicest perk of all is the full service breakfast included in the room rate. You get your choice of fresh made eggs, french toast or pancakes with bacon or sausage. This is quite a value. All in all is a great place to stay.
We stayed here for two nights. The hotel was very clean and tidy and close to a large shopping mall and a number of restaurants. Our suite was on the side closest to the highway, but we did not hear any highway noise. It is the first time that we had a cook to order breakfast in a hotel and we really enjoyed it.. We will stay here any time we visit Madison.
This is a very nice, newly remodeled hotel. The exterior is a little retro but very well kept. The interior is up to date and immaculate. The associates are helpful and friendly. Very professional. The breakfast is the best. You can pick from the continental offerings or select a made to order breakfast with a room ticket given to each guest for the number of mornings you will be there. They cook it up quicksand tastes great. Well run operation. We will go back.
This hotel is very nice. Front desk workers friendly and quick check in. Spacious rooms:full size fridge, microwave, and stove top. Beds are comfortable. Cooked to order breakfast with other choices as well. Lots of choices of restaurants & a big mall near hotel. Would definitely recommend & stay here again.
We had a family friend that was in the hospital and had to spend the night in Madison. Best Western was available at the last minute. The room and bed were wonderful and the breakfast was yummy! Thanks again Best Western always satisfied!!
We stayed on a Friday night. Lobby was clean and inviting. Desk staff was very nice. Our room was fine, although there was a big bug on the air conditioner so I scooped it up with a tissue and threw it in the trash. The ice machine on the first floor was not working and there was a sign on it that said to go to the second floor to get ice. Wish it was working but not a big deal. There is no pool here but there is a small work out center above the lobby desk. We went in it to check it out and liked the amount of machines in it. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed the made-to-order breakfast, unlike other places that have the food sitting in warmers. Breakfast started at 7:00 a.m. and we got there a few minutes after 7:00. Not all the food was put out yet. Then about ten minutes later the employee came out and started to put the fruit and other things out. (Perhaps she arrived late?). A great variety of food. Not the best coffee, but hey, that's ok since the food was great. Check out was very quick and the employee was super nice. We like how the hotel is close to the mall and other places. Oh, one other thing, not a big deal, really, but the tree with the pinecones at the front of the hotel made it look a little messy with the pinecones laying all over the sidewalk and parking lot. Chop it down and it would look better. We would definitely stay here again. It was a nice, quiet stay and overall we were pleased. We wonder if there weren't a lot of guests on this night because it seemed really quiet and we have never seen that few people in a hotel breakfast area before. That's fine with us, it made things quick and easy for us.
Wonderful services at the hotel. Very comfortable stay. welcoming and amazing staff members. I recommend everyone to visit and experience the hospitality of this place. The breakfast was amazing. Great
It was a nice stay. I always go through Madison but we never stay over night. This Best Western was easy to get to and the location was close to a lot of shops/ mall that we like going to. Once done with shopping my family really enjoyed the room. The breakfast was great. It was nice to have a meal cooked for us before leaving to continue our trip. Will plan on coming back that way in the future. We really enjoyed the rooms and the staff was very nice.
Where else in the Madison hotel community, or frankly anywhere, other than at a B & B, can you get a real cooked to order free breakfast. No scrambled eggs out of a bag, no steamer tables. A fresh, over easy egg, or made to order pancakes. Great bacon. Pleasant setting, not cramped. Not fancy, but simply wholesome. Why can't others do this ?....?? Our Kudos to Best Western Madison. The rooms are nice, and the front desk is gracious, but what continues to bring us back is their breakfast.....
Brought my daughter to Madison for her 16th Birthday celebration. Location was perfect. She was looking forward to soaking in the tub and using a bath bomb.. the tun wasnt functional and we didnt know until 8pm or we would have requested a different room. It was a horrible disappointing way to end the night. Breakfast was good but bacon was literally the thinest, smallest 2 strips I have ever encountered in my life. Staff were amazing, just wish amenities would have been better.
I travel to Madison frequently for business and am very pleased to have located this hotel. I signed up for rewards member program so I am earning points and have been pleasantly surprised at the automatic upgrade to a suite room. The cooked to order complimentary breakfasts are fantastic!
Very new and updated. Nice amenities. Good Location. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very nice. Breakfast was very good.I would definitely stay here again when I go to Madison. I was pleasantly surprised.
This hotel had comfortable, large rooms with comfortable beds. They had a complimentary hot breakfast which was a nice touch compared to usual continental breakfast options. Also had continental. Rooms had two beds and sofa bed which was great for a group.
We have checked in here late evening and unfortunately our card was not working due to bank maintenance issue for few hours.we informed this while check in.later we went out and returned by 10 pm and desk guys locker room and started asking for payment. Fortunately I had some cash with me so been able to pay but just imagine no haven't had cash....think would have been expelled :( Also I gave them a brand new bill/note to deposit as cash and in return I received a completely torned old bill/note. Seems extremely inconsiderate management so be prepared for surprises.
Check blankets for blood before laying in your bed. I wish I would have. I was not happy. Then wasn't offered cleaning service until next morning. But other then that my overall stay was very pleasing. And Danny at front desk when I checked in was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She made me feel right at home .
Stay at the Best Western while visiting my son in Madison! Super friendly staff, clean and loved the location. Close to restaurants, West Towne Mall, theater, and right off the hwy. The breakfast here is great!!
I was in Madison for business. The hotel was great. Not a whole lot around it, but easy access to downtown. Well maintained. Comfy beds. Made to order breakfast was lovely. It's nice being able to have real eggs any way you want them (or pancakes, omelettes or french toast). I enjoyed my stay here and would come back again
I was there for training at Epic, and stayed at the Best Western West Towne Suites. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was absolutely perfect, and the location was very convenient to restaurants, shopping, and driving to the Epic Campus. The rooms were huge, and came with a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. I was very pleased with my stay here and would definitely come back again!
probably the cleanest hotel we ever stayed at. the breakfast is made to order and very good. easy check in and check out. location is good. easy to get to downtown. the kids thought it smelt like fruity pebbles which is better than musty carpet like most places.
I have stayed numerous times here, they make my weekends very pleasant and comfortable. The rooms are pleasantly decorated and the color scheme makes you feel like home, very soothing. The entire staff go out of their way to please you. I would highly recommend this Best Western Inn to anyone visiting the Madison area
We had stayed at this BW at the end of October. We were so happy with everything, we chose to stay here again even though it was priced a bit higher. Make to order breakfast was nice and the gathering space was comfortable for our group to gather in the evening and visit/play games. We will be back.
Can't beat a made to order breakfast, although I wish they also offered the eggs poached. Rooms were quiet and clean. The shower had good water pressure. I would return here and recommend it to others as well.
My husband and I stay here when we're in Madison for three main reasons: 1) It's super clean. 2) It's reasonable. 3) And they have an amazing made-to-order breakfast. On top of that, the hotel decor is up-to-date and staff is very efficient and helpful. While conveniently located near the mall, grocery store and major roads through town, it is removed from noisy traffic on a quiet street.
Whenever I'm in Madison for work or pleasure, by myself or with my family, I always stay at the Best Western West Towne. From day one every member of the staff has been friendly and personable. The location is great for getting to any location in Madison and for getting back on the road. I don't see why I'd stay anywhere else.
Our stay at this Madison, WI BW was very good. The front desk clerk, friendly and professional, the room good, 2 large TVs. Breakfast was made to order, very well done. Our two night stay was free because of accumulated points and a special BW was running at the time of our reservation! Would stay there again.
We have been staying here since 2007. One reason is the very friendly people who work there- some of them have been working there ever since we first stayed here. The free hotel breakfast features made-to-order hot food in addition to the usual cereal, fruits and breads. We always stay in one of the suites which are comfy and roomy. The Fitness Center is well-equipped- far better than your usual hotel set-up. It's close to the mall and lots of restaurants and amazingly quiet at night even though it faces a major highway.
The quality and comfort of this hotel is the best we have experienced for the rate. Made to order breakfast was great. Rooms were quiet, clean, and comfortable. In room fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and tv were top notch. Had multiple HBO channels available. I almost never see that anymore. Very welcoming hotel. I will always stay there when visiting Madison, WO.
This hotel was very convenient to many eateries, pharmacies, and shopping areas. Likewise it was close to an exit from a major thoroughfare. The hotel decor was pleasant, and calming. In addition the rooms were well appointed including microwave, and small refrigerator. Every staff member we encountered was polite and helpful. The breakfast was made-to-order and very tasty.
Nice facility, staff were courteous and helpful, room was clean Internet was fine, bed comfortable could have had better pillows, good breakfast cook was excellent dining room spotless good selection of breakfast items.
I have stayed at this hotel before and have selected it because it is located near shopping and places to eat. I wish I had known that this hotel was going through some remodeling. It was noisy and dusty.
The hotel is being renovated and looks very nice. my room smelled of wet paint. Asked for a fan and was told that there weren't any when I could see one. Bed too soft for me. Breakfast ends at 9 which I found early. Wish there was a pool or an airport shuttle but neither are there. Good price but the East Towne location has a pool and a shuttle along with a hot tub and friendlier staff.
This is a very nice hotel with many amenities. Close to West Town Mall and the bypass. Their breakfast buffet was typical of other hotels, but they had a really nice hot breakfast available. Bring your own hair dryer. The "eco" model they provide was pretty weak. Clean, comfy room.
This property is newly updated. Rooms were nicely done. Breakfast area is upgraded to be inviting with made to order breakfast. Very accomodating, friendly personnel. Reasonablly priced and close to shopping!
The Best Western was a great place to stay in Madison. It is located by restaurants and shops yet a bit away from the downtown. Easy drive to the UW Madison Campus. I would stay there again when in town.
The rooms were spacious with a utility sink and counter plus a sink in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was very simple "cooked to order" and a wonderful treat after being in other hotels and having their "standard" frozen and reheated food. Thank you for making our stay and breakfast most like home.
This is a consistently good Best Western. We have stayed here multiple times when visiting our son who attends UW Madison which is a 15-20 minute drive. The rooms are nice and updated. We like to stay in the suite rooms because our son can stay with us and sleep on the sofa sleeper in the front room...a little break from dorm life. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and we feel safe staying here. The breakfast area is clean and well stocked and the cooks are efficient and do a great job. This Best Western is near a shopping mall and lots of restaurants as well.
Nice rooms with ample space. Plenty of parking. Near many options for dining. Near a lot of shopping area and the mall. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast is amazing. Made to order hot breakfast options along with the typical cold options.
I asked for a king room & got a king suite for the same price. The rooms are huge and every room has a large, round tub & shower. Most rooms have a kitchenette. The property is undergoing a remodel right now & the new decor is very classy. I would recommend this property to anyone going to Madison for business, leisure or a family trip. It is on the west side of Madison right off the belt line, yet very quiet.
This is absolutely the best Best Western I have stayed in in recent times. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is great and it has the best breakfast of all. It is in a great location and easy to get to and out of. I have stayed here a couple of times and will continue to stay when I am in Madison, WI
I arrived Sunday night and stayed until Friday morning. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was too soft for me but I did sleep well. Excellent shower. The breakfast was very good. They painted somewhere in the hotel on my third night and the smell was very powerful. They are doing a good job remodeling the hotel and I would definitely stay there again.
Very nice room/suite, very clean and well maintained. Bed was nice & comfortable. Customer service from the front desk from check in to check out was great. Very professional & outgoing. Very accommodating with our room upgrade request due to my recent surgery that day, that really impressed my Wife & me.
We previewed this motel online. The rooms appeared to be very bright and updated. We were very happy to have found this motel prior to our stay. However, the room definitely not what it was advertised to be online. It was very outdated and depressing. The bathroom was very small, and the hallways appeared dark. I felt we were misled. I was very disappointed in Best Western and I had prior good feelings about them. Now, I will only stay at a Best Western if I can find on other one!
Our bed was not comfortable, but they were replacing some when we were checking out. The noise on the second floor woke us. The staff is amicable, and the cooked breakfast was excellent. It is easily accessible from the highway, and there are several chain restaurants within a half mile of the location.
Stayed here one night for a Badger football game. While we couldn't check in early before the game we were able to use the lobby to wait to gather our group and use the restrooms. They did offer to store our bags...which we didn't need but but the offer was nice. Front desk staff was very nice and both checkin and checkout were a breeze. Included breakfast was a very pleasant surprise as it included the option of made to order eggs, omelette or pancakes with potatoes and sausage or bacon. This was in addition to the usual self-serve items like toast, bagels, cereal, yoghurt, etc. Coffee was actually good! Would recommend.
This is an older property but pretty well maintained. Check in was very fast and the lady at the front desk was very friendly. The hallways are a bit dark and the carpets are could use a cleaning. My room was spacious and comfortable with modern furnishings. I carry a UV black light to inspect the true cleanliness of the room. Soil normally invisible in room light lights up brightly when exposed to UV. For the most part my room was acceptably clean, except for the sofa. Lots of stains and spots of unidentifiable origin. The upholstery could seriously use a good steam cleaning. I choose not to use the sofa as a result. Breakfast was a real treat!! Eggs cooked to order along with the trimmings. When was the last time you stayed at a hotel a a so-called free breakfast that was much more than some microwave heated omelets resembling pot holders. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again. I gave the 4 stars because of the hallway carpets and dingy sofa in my room.
The value of this hotel did not match the price. The room and furniture were worn and dated. The walls were dingy. The door to the bedroom did not close. And there was a musty smell. The bright spot was breakfast.
Very nice. Best complimentary breakfast offered. Staff was great. Near stores and eating establishments. Beautiful suites. The property is well maintained. Not enough time to enjoy all that it had to offer.
Good for business trip, although I was unable to connect to the wifi during my entire trip. Price was inflated considerably due to EPIC UGM. Cooked to order breakfast includes precooked bacon, eggs and some potatoes. Otherwise was OK. Close to the mall & a few restaurants.
I stayed with my dog for the weekend while visiting family in Madison. Easy location to access, quite rooms, good breakfast. Friendly check in staff, who easily accommodated me by moving my room to the lower level of the hotel.
Our stay started with a fantastic first impression with the gal behind the front desk. She was so friendly and accommodating! We were able to check in early to get ready for the wedding we were attending that same day. Breakfast was prepared to order and very good! The room was clean and spacious. I would stay there again!
Very Centered to almost anything you can think of to do. Welcoming feeling as you enter the Hotel and throughout our stay. One of the cleanest and well arranged breakfast areas I have seen. Great all around.
If this hotel reflects a model that BW is moving toward, I am all for it! By far the best BW I have stayed at - from décor to service. It was obvious our room was one of the newly remodeled as there was still a little lingering odor of fresh paint. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa. We could have easily fit in a cot or crib if needed. The décor is neutral and tasteful. I LOVED the made to order breakfasts. I've gotten quite bored with the same old items offered by BW and this was definitely a fresh, new approach. I did miss a hot tub. I know the Y is available next door, but not quite the same for relaxing after a long day at a game, on campus, or out and about. However that won't stop me from staying again as overall it was a great experience.
Very nice property, kept clean, and nice location to what Madison has to offer. Rooms are very nice, spacious, and comfortable. Easy access and able to locate very fast. Staff could be more service focused to avoid issues coming up. Eye contact and smiles go a long way. Overall a good value for this property.
I didn't recognize it at the time of my reservation, but I had stayed here 7yrs ago when my car broke down. The location is ideal with a mall, movie theater, and 20-30 eateries varying from fast food to the chains like Bonefish Grill (why would you name a restaurant after an ineatable fish?) within 1mi. I arrived early so the class of room I reserved wasn't clean yet but the clerk asked if I would accept a room with a full kitchen, (sorry I don't cook). How about a 2 King room. (WHAT?). The room I got for the price of a single was HUGE , 2 king beds with ample space beside both sides. The TV choice was outstanding ( basic HD plan PLUS FSI,NBCSN,Velocity,MLB,HBO,HBO2,HBOSig,and HBOFam). The free breakfast is cooked to order (don't see THAT very often) along with a free USA Today. The staff is friendly and effecient. The only (MINOR ) gripe is that the chair was slightly uncomfortable for my lower back ( which is fixable by using 1 of the extra pillow from the bed).
Clean, friendly staff and above average free breakfast. Was there for a Wisconsin football game and the location was not far from the campus and activities. Many dining options near the property and right off the freeway.
The Best Western West Town Suites is a nice little hotel located conveniently on the beltway, just 5.3 miles to the University/Capital Hill. Comfortable, clean, great made to order breakfast. Staff is friendly, hotel is clean.
Very nice hotel, good location, friendly service, sumptuous breakfast. Highly recommend this modestly priced hotel. Excellent value for price. My friend and I needed a comfortable, convenient hotel for our vacation. Best Western filled our requirement very well !
I am a frequent traveler who travels practically every month to different part of the world for business reasons. Best western experience was one of the best experience I had .This is perfect place to stay and a true value for money .
My sister is in the UW hospital . If we have come back we will stay here again. Your best western was one of the nicest one we have stayed in. The breakfast was great and your staff was the best. Thank you for a great stay.
Clean, well maintained facility, Easy parking, good location, AND a Great Free Breakfast to order with multiple choices. Although near a major highway, the noise level is very low. Near a major shopping center and a good choice of restaurants within a few blocks.
At check in, with many other guests at or around the desk area, the woman handed over my room key and announced my room number. I was a single traveler and for safety issues this was not appreciated. My room offered nice big soaker tub, but the non-slip strips that had been applied were grungy, so no bath for me. The made to order breakfast was great and the cooks worked hard and fast.
Very nice Best Western in a nice part of Madison. Lots of shopping and places to eat close by. Nice staff and vey comfortable room too! After a great nights sleep you can get yourself pampered with a delicious made to order breakfast, eggs, French toast, potatoes, bacon, sausage.
I'm only withholding a star because it's not a top-notch property. That said, we were very satisfied with our experience. The front desk staff was great. I can't remember the name of the night clerk, but she was so helpful. She corrected our reservation issue and reassured me that everything would be fine. Priya, the day time desk clerk, was super professional, caring, and attentive. The hotel was undergoing renovation while we were there; it didn't bother or disrupt our stay in the slightest. I liked the updates that had already been implemented and trust that the hotel will be even nicer next time we stay. The accommodations more than served their purpose. It was comfortable and hospitable. We will plan to stay there again next time we visit Madison.
A nice hotel in a good location. Quiet and comfortable. The hotel is undergoing remodeling, and looks very nice. lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Easy access to the expressway. Breakfast was very good and cooked to your order.
Would definitely recommend this Best Western. Clean all over. Large rooms even with two king sized beds. Excellent breakfast with made to order eggs, not the usual premade and warmed-up stuff. Coffee was premium. Fridge, microwave, and a sink in the room made it all very comfortable. Excellent value.
The breakfast was the highlight of our stay - cooked to order omelet, pancakes, etc. I had to stand there at check-in waiting to be acknowledged by desk worker who was on the phone. Room was quiet, but it seemed damp and air never worked correctly. Checkout was smooth. Not bad, but I'd look elsewhere first in the future. They are remodeling, so that may help in the near future.
Very old, appliances were old and don't work. They are worried about washing of towels and linens causes me to worry that they are not washing everything. Went out to purchase a towel to shower with. Terrible odor in hallway and room smelled of mold. Cleaniness of room was very poor. Staff seemed to be helpful but couldn't help with the cleaniness.
This was my 3rd stay at this property. I always find the room and general facility to be clean and pleasant. The bed is comfortable and they give plenty of pillows, towels, etc. Nothing fancy, but a good place to stay. We have always found it to be quiet, too. The location is good - close to the freeway, UW, and the West Towne mall. They recently renovated the lobby and are starting on the rooms now. We did not have a renovated room. This was the first stay where we had some issues that needed to be addressed - the TV would not turn on - it was fixed the next day, and toward the end of our stay we discovered that the door did not lock properly unless you actually tugged on the door handle. That was very disconcerting, and the front desk staff said they'd look into it, but it hadn't been addressed in the less than 12 hours remaining of our stay. I'm hoping they checked it after we checked out! Free parking, free wifi.
Nice, clean hotel. Breakfast was personally cooked for each person and was delicious! Tub was a little higher than the floor causing a little bump when getting out of the tub. Front clerk lady on 3rd shift could have been more personable and helpful.
The Best Western West Towne suits is an excellent place to stay in Madison. The newly renovated and redcorated rooms are fantastic. They are very spacious, clean and comfortable. The cooked to order breakfast is the best I have had in the US.
This was our fourth stay at this hotel which should speak to our overall satisfaction. The rooms are being renovated, the bed is very comfortable with lots of puffy pillows. There is sufficient space in each suite and the multiple chiars are comfortable. Appreciated the fridge. We have nver availed ourselves of the breakfast, but it looked tasty -- certainly surpassing the normal Best Western breakfast bar. Yes, there is a bit of noise in the hallways, but the placement of the bed area furthest from the door made that a non issue. Recommended.
Check-in went smoothly; however we were on second floor and NO elevator. The management were very polite and professional. The complimentary breakfast was very good and included an "order" window. Other than not being able to use the room key on the side entry door, everything went very well. The hotel is being refurnished and updated....this can only be a positive for this location.
Rooms are newly renovated. Made to order breakfast was nice. And, when we planned to leave earlier than when breakfast started one day, they offered us a "grab-and-go" bag which included two pieces of fresh fruit, a water, and a granola bar. Rooms were comfortable and functional. Some of the outlets did not work well (they were too wiggly to hold our plugs), but everything else was fine. Service was friendly, too.
Bathtub was dirty. Room was missing table and lamp. They brought in the table but no lamp so very poor lighting. Our view was a pile of furniture and large trash bins. Breakfast was good but lacked enough seating. I would not recommend this hotel.
Awesome stay! Friendly staff and very good breakfast. Remodeled interior looked very nice and clean. Room was big, clean and had a comfortable bed. Great price and location for our visit. Pretty much close to everything. Would come back and stay again.
Rooms are very large and extremely clean. Breakfast is included and there is a small gym available. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Nice meeting area in the lobby. Fantastic mall right across the street that has a multitude of stores and great restaurants.
Stayed here on business: Exterior hotel look: awful. Much renovation going on. Was put into one of the remodeled rooms: paint fumes could be smelled in room. Bathroom vanity was leaking. Human hair between the sheets and very gross. Internet connect not working at times ( and no bad weather going on that could be used as an excuse)
They just finished renovation in the room and still put me into that room. I asked to change room but they were sold out. So the solution I was offered was to keep the window open. The smell is still so strong that I could not sleep! Another worst thing is that the bed sheet is like 20 years old motel sheet they bought from other motel. But the hot breakfast was quite good. The guy cooking breakfast deserve tips and praise for his hardwork.
We were planning to stay one night and continue on with our vacation, but we had such a great experience, we decided to make it a "base camp" for seeing Wisconsin, and extended our stay. Our bed and room had recently been renovated, and the new beds are great! The renovations are still in progress, so be sure to request a newly renovated room. The included cooked-to-order breakfast was great, and the dining area is very nice.
The Best Western Towne Suites is currently undergoing a complete renovation. Even though our room had not been updated, many of the rooms are, the value was very good for the cost/ experience. We often stay at Best Western Hotels because they offer consistent service & Value.
We just got back from a trip to Madison and spent 5 nights here. It is without a doubt my favorite motel in the Madison area. Service is wonderful. We had someone really noisy above us, and staff promptly moved us to a new room and offered to move all our items for us and at our convenience irrespective of check-out deadlines. Breakfasts are great and best we have had at any motel. Rooms are so clean and comfortable.
Nice and clean being updated in lower level. There is no pool but we were fine with that. Breakfast is made to order with some extras (yogurt, oatmeal, bananas, apples, assortment of muffins/bagels ) Great value & great stay
If you stay at this hotel, don't expect to sleep much, especially if you're on the first floor. Every step from above is amplified and is accompanied with a very loud and squeaky noise. It's worse than any apartment or home or hotel I've ever been in. Not even sure it was guests as this continued for hours and hours? Also beds are not comfortable. Guess you get what you pay for: Lower cost = substandard experience.
Rented two rooms for two nights for UW graduation weekend. Was up charged for extra son in one room for two nights. When approached front desk for refund for only one night for him was told no-way, by extremely rude woman at the desk. Not worth arguing with her for ten dollars. The motel is worn out. Towels are thin rags, heating system extremely loud, filthy under headboard of bed, no dishes or utensils of any kind in kitchenette. Breakfast took over half an hour for two eggs. The selection of sides very slim.
I made the reservation on a Monday for the next three days because I had a business emergency in Madison. I tried to cancel the reservation about ten hours later because the situation had changed but was told I had to pay for all three days. I can understand paying something but paying for three days was excessive.
very old and outdated furniture. Breakfast was very poor quality. Not very many options. did not have a big towel first two nights. Stove top but no pans to cook on. remote did not work. no view from window. fitness center small. Loud noises from lobby because of being open in design.
Good location for west side of Madison. Easy to get to and easy to get around. Dated decor and smells a bit old. No useful outlets for phone charging near beds. Fresh cooked breakfasts, not all you can eat but plenty for a normal person and very tasty.
We had made a booking at Best Western for three days, we had entered on Google as Best western instead of specifying which specific Best western, therefore we ended uo at Best Western West Towney in Madison. The front desk clerk who had the name Priya on her name tag gave us the worst customer service ever. We were treated so unprofessionally and had no respect or bothered to take time to explain that there are other four locations. As we were leaving the check in desk, we told ourselves "glad this is not the hotel we are staying, I am sure this place is a nightmare". We ended up making our way to the correct best western on the other side of the town and we are SO GLAD that we did not book Best Western West Towney. I hope you teach your check in clerks to treat travellers well, the name does not represent the company it is the people who work at the company who represent, and she did not do justice to your place.
I booked this hotel for one night when I was in town on business. The location is great, easy access to everything, easy parking. The staff is very friendly and the service is one of the highlights of this hotel. The stay was fine for one night; the layout of the room is very efficient and the breakfast is excellent. The doors on the rooms are very heavy and tend to slam, there is also very little sound proofing. I did find it hard to sleep with constant closing of doors in the hallways, the sounds of a television in another room, an alarm going off in another room. Overall I would rate it an average stay with kudos to the hotel staff for being so pleasant.
While the hotel is a bit older, it is very clean and staff is very friendly. Great breakfast. My second stay and I would definitely stay again. Great value and location. Near West Town mall with plenty to do and eat.
This Best Western was the better than Hilton or Sheraton. Go for the breakfast it is really good. Two hundred characters, Really? What part of awesome didn't you get. It's been a long time since I've been in a hotel that I didn't have something negative to say.
We booked a Jacuzzi Suite and the room was comfortable but dusty and could have been cleaned better. The room is very spacious. Check-in was easy and the front desk staff were friendly. The hotel gives you coupons for breakfast the next morning, that was about average for hotel breakfast, it's made to order but lacking in flavor and quality. Despite these minor things, the stay was comfortable and good for what we paid in the area. The hotel is in a great location close to the Melting Pot where we had dinner.
This hotel is in a great location. Close to many restaurants, right off the highway and easy to get to.The breakfast was very good with REAL eggs and not powder eggs! My only complaint, if you call it that, was that they ran out of coffee during breakfast!
Great hotel at reasonable price on near west side of Madison. Quiet and comfortable with superior breakfast, including a choice of made to order items. Also, nicer than normal breakfast area and fitness room. Daily paper provided. What's not to like?
My in-laws are repeat customers of this hotel and would like to stay there in the future but after this last experience I would suggest they go elsewhere. They offer a nice handicapped room option and good "made to order" breakfasts. But our most recent visit was marred by AWFUL customer service. "Priya Y" confronted me when I questioned a wrong reservation date (they were wrong). They then announced there was no handicap room even though I had requested it on the phone. Their attempt to email a confirmation was pitiful, they could not record an accurate email after two attempts. By the 3rd attempt we finally got one. Then we were "double billed" on another credit card since I made the reservation. When I complained, I was told "you are wrong, we never make mistakes". When I demanded a refund of the night of the "no show" (their incorrect reservation) I asked to speak to her supervisor and he meekly would not confront me in person. I did get the refund. Some of the WORST customer service I have experienced. Priya needs to go to "customer service school" and fast! I do believe they maybe owners of this hotel. They will not succeed based on this experience if the word gets out about how RUDE they are to paying customers. Plenty of other options in Madiosn, stay somewhere else!
I stayed here many, many years ago, and thought it was good back then. But now, it is even nicer. The rooms are modern. The breakfast is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. All of this for a really good price. Only two complaints. The bathroom is starting to get dated as some of the tiles were popping up from the floor. And the soundproofing is not the best. It sounded like the people upstairs were bowling in their room. I would definitely stay here again! I'd just request a room on the third floor.
I stayed in your hotel on Saturday, November 26. I reserved 2 rooms on hotels.com. After I made my reservation online, I called to make sure it came thru, that the rooms would either be adjoining or right next to each other, have all fiber pillows due to allergies. 1) Rooms were 105 and 146. Enough said. Actually not. I had my 18yr old daughter and a friend of hers with my son and I for a Badger game. They are college girls and are adult enough to have their own room, but I had called and ASKED, because of that, that they be in a room next to my son and I just in case. NOT HAPPY because the person I spoke with did not notate that in the reservation at all. The room I stayed in, room 105, smelled like cigarette smoke and had both feather and fiber pillows and I woke this morning all stuffed up with my eyes matted shut due to the feather pillows on the bed. ALSO, not notated in the reservation. Not happy. I love staying with Best Western, but this was not a good experience, at all, for me. Oh, the exhaust fan in the bathroom of room 105 also was non operational.
This hotel is our "hotel of choice" when staying in the Madison area! They have a professional and caring staff and the rooms are very clean. Comfortable beds and who wouldn't enjoy all of the offerings of the made to order breakfast.
The staff is nice and professional, but the hotel itself is a little run down for its price with an over "cheap" feel. The breakfast is a little weird because you have these tickets because maybe the hotel doesn't trust its guests? They do have a shuttle with an awesome driver but the hotel is very strict on their shuttle radius. But the hotel is by many stores and restaurants which is nice.
Very nice hotel with great staff, nice rooms, plenty of parking, easy to get into and out of, a made-to-order breakfast in the morning that was very nice, coffee in the room, a small fitness area, and it was quiet. The price was reasonable. We would happily stay here again. It is a few minutes from downtown, but it worked just great for us and was more affordable. It is close to West Towne Mall & several nice restaurants. Very happy with our stay here.
Rooms were old. No doubt about it. BUT the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Sleep quality I found was the best I have had in awhile. Breakfast was cooked to order which is a nice touch. Front desk staff were pleasant. I would stay here again as now I wouldn't be shocked at the age of the rooms, but I know they are very clean and will get a great night sleep. A special shout out to the cooking staff that were working very hard getting orders together. I noticed there was a large tennis group in with the other guests and they kept putting out the orders with no backup whatsoever. A minor complaint is that when the hotel advertises hot coffee and tea 24 hours, the coffee should be hot and not cold. Yes there is a microwave but the coffee and hot water should be looked at every so often so we can enjoy a warm cuppa on cool WI night.
I stayed here about a year and a half ago and was VERY disappointed. I didn't realize it was the same hotel when I booked it. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent. The room was clean. The lobby and hallway noise was no where as bad as it was last time. It still could use some improvement but it was much, much better.
Very clean, conveniently located, and great value. I highly recommend for business or pleasure. Breakfast was good and convenient, saving time looking for breakfast. Made to order eggs were great. We will definitely stay here in the future visit to Madison, Wisconsin.
Pleasant staff. Great management. I'd pay extra for the cooked to order real eggs omelet-a real treat but it's free:) Request: Hubby got medical issue. A pack of gluten free carbs would be handy in this day and age.
I spent 10 days here on a business trip and was very impressed. My room had all the amenities I needed. It was large, clean, and everything worked perfectly. The breakfast area was well stocked, and the unique made to order meals that were cooked to order in the kitchen were like eating at home. The nicest feature was the well stocked marketplace area beside front desk. Whether you needed a tube of toothpaste, a tub of ice cream or a bottle of wine, they had it all and it was very well priced. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating as well. I'll be back !!!
Our hotel room was great! Extra space even with two queens and a sofa, and it had a large bathroom! Everything was clean and comfortable! The breakfast was wonderful. Several options AND a made to order option of eggs, french toast or pancakes!
The hotel rooms need to be updated and have an odor. The lobby and dining areas are beautiful but the rooms are awful. I did like that I was able to open the window in the room for some fresh area and the bed was comfortable. However, the pillows were flat. Often hotel will provide both soft and firm pillows. I think added those will help a lot. Also, the service desk was disorganized and failed to keep track of our credit card authorization form. I had to email my assistant to have the form emailed to the hotel front desk staff. A coworker of mine was charged $515.00 without her consent, she as under the impression the card was swiped for incidentals. She was never informed by the front desk the charge. I received similar stories from others staying at the hotel for Epic's UGM. Please make sure your front desk staff is informs clients what they are being charged and the reason for the charge. Priya and the Dining Manager/Chef (did not get his name) were helpful when my battery died in the hotel parking lot. Priya offered me jumping cables and the Dining Manager made sure I placed them correctly.
The dent guys came into town for the recent hail storm and we were lucky enough to choose this newly renovated upscale Hotel what really got my attention with the made to order breakfast scrambled eggs sausage hash browns all sorts of drinks Michael loved the muffins, another cool feature what's the two front doors when carrying all your luggage in you can just pull the door and it opens itself the rest of the way not to mention the awesome USB Outlets in the kitchen area it's the small things that make things awesome
They are so dis honest about there shuttle absolute lie. Do not stay here if you need it. They say they only run it a few hours a day morning and eve. I asked for a ride tonight and they did not have a driver. The so called MGR told me you have to let them know 24 hrs in advance. How in the world does that work. You really can only get a ride one way. False advertising. If you stay here and do not have a car get ready to walk. Unbelievable.
warm inviting staff who enjoy working at this hotel. best mattress quality as compared to any hotel brand new fitness equipment in spacious work out area I like to use the computers in the lobby section
This hotel was convenient for visiting family on the west side of Madison. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. Very comfortable bed. The common area of the hotel has been recently renovated and looked very nice. The room appeared to be a bit older but still fine. One plus was the made to order breakfast, with a choice of three entrées. Very nice. The exercise room was good too. All in all a nice stay.
I've been going to this hotel for over 20 years, and I do not expect to ever do that again. Besides the bed being soft and uncomfortable, which has been the case in the past as well, I was, quite frankly, sufficiently afraid of the desk clerk that I barricaded the door. When checking in, the clerk who was manning the desk, announced my room number - quite loudly, actually - twice. I was not confrontational, nor angry, but I did say that it is really not cool to do that with any guest, most especially with a woman traveling alone. He angrily replied that he always does it that way - that is how he directs people to their room. I pointed out that he can just show the room number and give directions. Belligerently, he asked if I wanted to talk to his manager. I just wanted to get away, and declined; though after I'd gotten my luggage, I stopped at the desk again and said that I regretted that that encounter had seemed confrontational to him - that had not been my intention. He scowled and made no reply. When I met him in the hall a little later, he was again/still scowling and made no acknowledgement. Truly, I was concerned that this might be "the guy" who loses it after being challenged, and I barricaded the door so that he could not gain entry in the night. I am not a hysterical type; I've never had this sort of concern before in all the years I've traveled. Though most of my experiences over the years have been superlative, this was not my first negative experience. On my next-to-the-last stay there, my bed was so broken down that I could not find a way to sleep on it without hurting my back. The best I could do was to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed and corner-to-corner. I told the clerk about it the next morning as we were checking out, and received an email from an Assistant Manager. She offered no apology and told me that she and Housekeeping had looked into it and the bed was fine. Still I went back. On the next visit, there were no problems, and on this one, I barricaded the door to protect myself plus the bed was soft and uncomfortable, though not as bad as the previous time. On top of that, there was a noise like I've never experienced anywhere. I couldn't tell where it was coming from - it seemed like maybe below me - perhaps there is machinery down there. At any rate, my computer screen was actually vibrating with the pulse of it - lasted for over half an hour. I don't know what is going on with this place; I've been coming to this hotel pretty regularly since 1993, and have truly loved the spaciousness of the rooms; but I cannot imagine that I'll ever be back.
Looks like a typical 1960's Best Western on the outside, except for a few new decorative touches. But the inside is top-notch remodeling. Loved the jacuzzi suite we had. Breakfast choices were good too.
This made my 6th trip to Madison for business and my first time staying at Best Western. Not only did I receive a good price per night but the overall stay was more than expected! Troy (check-in) provided outstanding customer service and took the time to answer all of my questions. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. HIGHLY recommend!
This is our new favorite hotel to stay in when visiting relatives in Madison. Had previously stayed at the Radisson which is right next door and was quite underwhelmed. But Best Western delivered. Nice foyer with seating arrangement and television with conveniences ready to purchase at desk. Easy check-in and check-out. Includes a to order breakfast with choice of eggs, pancakes, or french toast plus sides of potatoes and either bacon or sausage. Also includes the usual muffins and bread coffees and juices. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The room was spacious and included all the amenities: phones, iron ironing board, coffee maker, refrig and microwave plus a bonus bar sink. The room was clean as my white socks indicated. The bathroom was clean as well and included the usual amenities Pantene shampoo and conditioner plus soaps. Located only minutes from the Beltline. Very much recommend.
I've stayed in 6 Madison hotels recently. This is the best Westside location hotel. The breakfast is way above average. The place is being renovated and common area look upscale. It's great and you won't be disappointed.
We were very pleased with this hotel. Convenient for us on our way to Toronto. I am always looking for pet friendly and the front desk staff even brought out treats for my dogs. Clean, updated and comfortable. We had breakfast plans elsewhere but saw they even offered a made to order option including French toast, pancakes or eggs.
Stayed here after dropping our son off at the University of Wisconsin. We got the room at a very reasonable price (taking advantage of an AARP rate). We loved the make to order breakfast. It is close to shopping and only 10 minutes from the University of Wisconsin. Our room was on the backside of the hotel and very quiet.
Our first 2 days here were fine. Very nice room, comfortable, etc. Upon leaving, we asked for the same room upon our return 2 days later. The clerk promised to hold it for us. On our return, not only had they not put the room aside for us, but the tattooed desk clerk said nothing on our requested side was available: not a single room on the non-freeway side. This stay was for 6 days, so a noisy room was not acceptable. I asked if there were rooms of a different category on the quiet side. The clerk looked at me with "attitude" and said "I already said there weren't any", when in fact he had not said so. When I pointed out how few cars there were in the parking lot, he finally admitted that there were a lot of empty rooms on that side, but no cleaned ones. (He said this was typical for this hotel: many rooms are left uncleaned, so only some rooms (the noisy ones) are available!) I offered to change the sheets myself in a dirty room. He told me this wasn't allowed. He gave us a loud room on the freeway side. When I complained (firmly, but politely), he said I was "yelling" (completely untrue) and that he was "done with this conversation." After having said several times there were no free rooms whatsoever on the quiet side, he then magically found one, saying that he hadn't "heard" me the first time (!) All this was after almost an hour of frustration. In addition, the reservation stated just 5 nights, though we had booked for 6, and we were given too few breakfast vouchers. Later, the manager tried to compensate us for our frustration by a reduced rate, but upon check-out, the clerk billed us for the original amount, never having heard anything of the discount offered us. When we attempted to contact the original manager, she was on vacation for a month, with no one else authorized to provide the discount. It's been almost a month, and we still haven't received the promised discount. The internal communication in this hotel is dreadful. No one seems to get the notes that other staff leave. In addition, the front desk clerk was rude. We will certainly not stay here again.
Everything about the hotel was great, except the fact that they have no on site pool. You have to drive just over a mile to a YMCA. The YMCA closed at 7 PM on Staurday. Not worth the drive over after getting back to the room at 6:15 PM.
Troy and his staff made our stay the best in all our years of traveling. The most friendly staff we have ever had. It really made us sad to leave but also plan for a return trip next year. If you ever are traveling to Madison we think you owe it to yourself to stay at this remarkable facility.
My wife, dog and I stayed for one night and booked a room with two king sized beds (we were told it was the same price as two queens). The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. The price was affordable. There is no swimming pool on the property and we did not stay for the free breakfast because they do not begin service until 7 am on Saturdays. We were looking to begin our day earlier than that. I would recommend this hotel for those who are looking for spacious rooms and basic comfort.
We were impressed with the whole stay as a whole. The D.R. was clean and food was plentiful. Room was clean and spacious. Price was good. I applied for B.W. rewards to gain a discount at further stays, Had a problem with air conditioning in room 138 that we forgot to report. Couldn't get the humidity out of the room even with turning AC down to 70 degrees.
Excellent overall! Easy check in, spacious suite, quiet room, hot made-to-order breakfast and a caring staff. What more could anyone need? Will definitely stay at this property again and recommend it highly
The hotel staff were great, from start to finish. The room was large and had plenty of space for our infant daughter and her belongings. The location is great -- easy access to the heart of Madison. This will be the go-to hotel for our visits to Madison.
only thing different was the Breakfast was ordered at a window with a couple of options and there was a long line to order breakfast the food was very good though. The rooms were clean and very comfortable, service was outstanding as well.
My grand daughter was in a tournament at the Legends Gold Coarse. We stayed at this hotel because of the Brand Name. We had a great time. Breakfast was good. Good front desk staff. We would stay at this hotel again when in the area. Thank you for a great stay.
We love staying at Best Western! This was our first experience staying over with our dog. We were greeted by friendly staff, as usual. The room was very impressive. We didn't know we were getting a suite, which turned out perfect for our dog giving him more room to roam. When you first walk in everything smelled fresh and was very clean. The bathroom was huge and clean. The beds were very comfortable. Even though we were right near the elevator where traffic was busy it was still very quiet. Love, love, love! The nice breakfast was a bonus. There were so many options to choose from, all good. The location was perfect, not too far from downtown Madison. Plenty of shopping and food very close to hotel. Staff so helpful with recommendations. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It was so worth the money. We will be back!
We have stayed the the Best Western West Towne 3 times. Great staff, clean rooms with amenities you need. Stayed in a suite plenty of room and priced well. Made to order breakfast excellent. We have family in Madison and will be staying there several times a year!
I stayed at this hotel in a double queen & pull out bed room. It is where I stayed with my bridesmaids for a weekend of trying on dresses & having fun! The hotel is in a great spot close to the West Towne mall, various eateries, about a 14 minute drive from State Street, and our bridal destinations. The breakfast was a good variety but did get very busy in the morning so didn't always want to wait if there was a large crowd. We did find small ants in our room- not sure if that was the hotel or something that we dragged in (we did have cupcakes). Could hear some noises from either the people above us or the room next to us. The beds were comfy & overall experience was good.
Room looked great, smelled bad...friendly front desk, but had no air freshener they could find in the service room to rid the musty smell. If you are a picky person with beds, these were very soft not firm. Air was a little noisy , but better than some. It was one of those situations where you walk in and it looks really good, room, TV, couch, etc.. and then the smell and air noise. I had a king room, overall way better than some I've seen, I'd stay again , but would also look for others.
A very clean hotel with a friendly, helpful staff. The suite has a full size refrigerator, which helps if you go to States largest farmers' market in Madison. TV and WiFi were fine. We loved their breakfasts. You can order your breakfast to your order eggs any way even omelets, pancakes and french toast.
Good place to stay for the price. Most lodging in Madison was much higher in price and didn't really do anything more than this place. Breakfast was nice! Internet worked well. Great location to most all points around Madison. Good area to take a run (if you are a runner). Good location relative to places to eat.
We were driving through and needed a place to stay. We stumbled across this hotel after all ones in La Crosse were booked and I am thankful it worked out that way since this ended up being a very nice stay! Best stay of our trip from Alaska to Florida yet and we've been on the road for two weeks. The hotel is clean, much of it is newly renovated, comfy beds, free breakfast and friendly & helpful staff. I would return and would definitely recommend it.
Our party of 5 stayed 1 night in a room with 2 queen beds with a pullout couch. The inside looks as if it had been recently remodelled and was very clean. Breakfast was ample, you had a choice of French toast, pancakes or eggs (2) with sausage or bacon, cooked to order, a variety of fruit, yogurt, etc. Kids made use of the microwave in room and also the mini refrigerator. When we asked for more pillows they were delivered within moments. Staff was friendly and polite. We will definitely stay here again!
Had a 2 queen room which had plenty of space for our family of four. It looked like the entire hotel was recently updated. Everything was super clean and like new. The breakfast was a nice touch as they had made to order dishes which were included in our room. Overall this was a great value.
Our reservation was for 3 occupants in a King Suite that included a sofabed. We were given a Regular King room. When we went back to the front desk to inquire about it, we were told that their computer only showed a Regular King room. I pulled the confirmation email up on my phone that showed a King Suite WITH A SOFABED and showed it to the desk attendant. He said there was nothing he could do since there wasn't a supervisor on staff. He suggested calling the toll-free customer service to see if they could change it. I was unable to reach customer service because of the weekend, but did talk to a reservation specialist who confirmed our reservation was for a King Suite with a sofabed. He called the hotel directly to let them know, but he came back on the phone and told us he also could not do anything to correct the error. He advised us to talk to the manager the following day. We were offered a roll-away bed to use for the night - that we were then charged for. When we stopped at the front desk to check out, they did remove the extra charge at our request. Other than the reservation error, the bed was comfortable, the made-to-order breakfast was nice, but the barking dog across the hall wasn't enjoyable.
We were promised a pack-and-play at the time of booking, it was never delivered, no recompense offered. Overwhelmed staff member who was on duty alone just passed the buck to a manager who was not available. I left a phone message, call never returned. I would steer clear of this place if you are bringing children.
This hotel had huge rooms and bathrooms. It was very clean and well decorated. The employees were very helpful. It was easy access to the hotel. We stayed eight days total and were very pleased with this hotel. Highly recommend and will stay there again if we return.
Just returned from participating in the Madison Art Fair on the Square art show. We stayed at this Best Western because it was rated fairly high and it was close enough to the State Capital which was the location of the art show. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptional and the breakfast was organized and plentiful. The hot items were a great plus.
The bed was way way to soft, very uncomfortable. The sofa sleeper was terrible, it was so crooked you felt like you were falling off. Front desk was ok and continental breakfast was ok. Will not stay again.
Excellent location. Room was comfortable with good seating area. Breakfast had continental breakfast and 3 items made to order. I had French toast and it was awesome. I wasn't feeling well and they were able to get the room ready before the 3 PM check in. Much appreciated.
I would highly recommend the BW we stayed at. My husband set all of this up as a birthday gift for me. I really enjoyed this short, but pleasant stay. We will be going back in July for our family reunion. Madison is a good stopping point for our travels.
This hotel has been partially renovated. The clerk said that the lobby, restaurant, everything but the rooms are done and room renovations are coming next, but I'd have to say that it looked like our room had already been done. Very clean, quiet, great (free) hot breakfast, made to order. We used to stay here 5 to 10 years ago when traveling for work and it was just OK at that time, but it's taken a turn for the better now.
Needed a place to stay on our way to the House on the Rock and this place was perfect. No bells or whistles, but we had a good nights sleep, breakfast, and a convenient spot to our destination. Well worth the price.
Pleasant, clean and comfortable property. We stayed for a wedding and found everything we needed including a good night's sleep, a hot breakfast and a noon checkout time. The location was convenient and Best Western is a chain we trust.
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel. My wife's Dragon Boat Paddling Team was competing in the Capital Lakes Festival. The manager went out of his way to assist our group. Rather than a standard hotel breakfast; this hotel allows you to choose a breakfast which is prepared for you. The room was clean and comfortable. This Best Western has a great location right off the interstate. If we return to Madison, I would stay there again.
I stayed in West Towne Suites while organising a move to Madison. It was well located outside the downtown area thus avoiding any downtown congestion. It is well positioned to allow access to the south and west of the lakes easily. It is very well priced and suites are available. There is a gym and breakfast bar but no restaurant. There are however many restaurants and bars within 2 miles.
We traveled by car from Nevada to Wisconsin and stayed in some questionable hotels, so when we arrived here and walked into the lobby, we sighed with relief. Although the rooms are not as spectacular as the lobby, we found them roomy, comfortable and clean. We had a full size fridge and and electric stove top as well as a sink and microwave. Every room is different tho. We loved the free made to order breakfast and wish to commend the 2 employees who ran it...Maria Vazquez and Christian Gallarbo. They were both friendly and professional. Every interaction we had with every staff member was good.
It's an okay place to stay. It's quiet and clean. The beds are comfortable and the hot breakfasts are pretty good. Coffee's on the weak side. There's a Starbucks a few blocks away, so thank goodness for that. The thing is, it's kind of on the shabby side. Nothing horrible. Just peeling wallpaper here and there, loose tiles in the bathroom, that sort of thing. I usually stay at the InnTowner in the Highland Club. But, they were booked this trip. This is not the Highland Club. Then again, the room rate is significantly less. Maybe I don't travel enough to know. It just seems to me that at nearly $90 a night, the bathroom floor tiles shouldn't come off floor stuck to the bottom of your foot when you step into the shower.
We had a two queen bed room One bed was fine, the other was lumpy, bumpy, and should have been replaced long ago. One side sort of collapsed when a person sat on it. The fan in the bathroom didn't work causing steam on the mirror when showering. The handle came off when it was turned to regulate shower temp. People checked in above us around mid-night and woke us up. We could also hear water pipes when neighbors showered. Just gave the impression of cheap construction. Now let's go to breakfast. No coffee! Only decaf until the next pot was brewed. There were made to order eggs, but Lord help if you wanted both eggs and pancakes! Can't neglect to compliment the help, both at the registration and for breakfast. All were polite and friendly. Just was expecting nicer for the price.
Got one of the standard king bed rooms. Rooms are cheaply built with sound carrying very well. I must say the room was nice, clean and staff was very very accommodating. I had one issue with hallway noise and they were quick to address it. My only concern would be that the price point probably attracts more riffraff. I came here for Epic training but with my company covering any bills I might opt for a place that gives less anxiety when staying. WiFi is OK. I've had faster. Stay was great but sound was a small issue.
The location is kind of out of the way to everything else, but it's not a terrible stay. The air conditioning sounds like a plane is taking off every time it kicks on, but for a quick stay, it's not awful.
I am really impressed at the efficiency and high standards this hotel has showed so far a define visit again hotel. the surrounding are filled with amazing restaurants, a mall just to mention a few services. .. and the breakfast is made fresh and really tasty.. Keep up with setting trends for road-worrior like myself. Thanks you guys .
Room is a great size, and has every convenience you could want (2nd floor, see photos). I particularly appreciated the OPENING windows (even though the road noise was a bit much when open). Free hot breakfasts were great, but make sure to say 'no onions' on the omelette if you don't want the "optional" onions! Walking distance to grocery and drug stores was appreciated.
Overall the Best Western West Towne Suites worked well for our one night stay. We had a room that faced the highway but the no sound from the cars could be heard. Our room was clean and the bed was fine. The free breakfast was a plus with cooked to order eggs. I would stay again if the need arises. My only issue, and it is a small thing, is the channel guide supplied in the room is not accurate. I never did find the guide channel on the television. A nice well kept hotel.
we walked up to this older looking building thinking hmm, it looks dated and a little shabby. But it was fine; the rooms looked like they have been updated. They had a ticketed-cooked-to-order breakfast which was different. The one thing I wish for this and all motels and hotels in the country: COULD YOU PLEASE GET SOME DECENT COFFEE? The coffee, when I first got there in the morning, was not hot and tasted like it was left over from the previous day. Wait, there is another thing: the workout room needs to be cool not warm and certainly not hot!
This hotel boasts large rooms in a perfect location, down the street from a large shopping mall and around the block from countless restaurants of all varieties. Although it does not provide a shuttle to the UW campus, if you have a car you can reach the campus quite easily in 10-15 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast includes a hot, cooked-to-order dish of your choosing. The rest of the breakfast, however, was a bit limited, with just a few fresh fruits, 2-3 types of cereals, and some pastries. I appreciated the fact that a recycling bin was provided in the room, as well as a microwave and fridge. It's a very pleasant place to stay!
I would think a nice hotel like this would have floors that are more insulated from noise. In the middle of the night we were awakened by heavy footsteps in the room above us that continued for hours. We liked the hotel otherwise, but would not stay here again unless we were assured of a room on the top floor.
I stayed 4 nights in this hotel and it was clean, quiet and comfortable. Important for me, the window opened so I could have fresh air. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was spacious and offered a varied selection of juices, cereals, breads, yogurt and even eggs to order. Easy in and out from the highway. I slept and ate well - no complaints!
Attended a conference. I didn't realize that this was an official conference hotel, so I didn't leverage all the perks. Good location near commercial areas--convenient. They provided vouchers for made-to-order breakfasts, but I didn't partake.
It was a nice stay. We only had one issue calling to confirm reservation. They would not tell me on,the phone if I had a room as I had not mademthe reservation myself. It was okay as they guarantee the reservations. Front desk helpful and coffee good (that's important to Canadians ;) Just a cautionary note: if you are celiac, ask to have your eggs cooked in a separate pan. The grill has much bread on it and then eggs.
The room smelled like someone sprayed lemon scented lysol before I got there, it choked me. The shower made a terrible high pitched squealing noise when you turned it on. The bed was uncomfortable. It's a lower priced hotel and it's not very nice.
Stayed one night this past weekend. It's an older property but in the process of renovations. Had to wait a few minutes for front desk clerk to show up but other than that, check-in and check-out went quickly with no issues. Hallway carpeting looked newer and room was large with nice carpeting and newer flat-screen TV. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean and nice with an excellent shower. There was some noise from guests in the room above us walking around. We had to check out early for a race and missed the breakfast. They provided a "Grab & Go" bag with water, a granola bar, and apple.
We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights. The staff was very professional and courteous and they did everything to make us comfortable. We needed 'accessible' support. The staff went out of their way to make things work for us. The breakfast was wonderful - cook to order. Wonderful pancakes and french toast. The cook was great. Clean and spacious rooms.
My stay there was fine. The Hotel was under some construction. But other than that everything was fine. I was helping my daughter move North and needed a place to stay. The bed was comfortable. The Coach bed needs a new mattress. It was way to thin and very uncomfortable to lay on.
This is the second time I've stayed at this BW. It is in a very convenient location both for restaurant and shopping options as well as freeway close to get to my family's place. I was there last August 2015 and the lobby was being renovated - I had looked forward to seeing the finished result, and it is "mostly" done, but for some reason there is a large area in the lobby/breakfast area where the tile is up, present a somewhat unstable place. The rooms have not yet been renovated. They are dated in appearance, but they are comfortable. I LOVE that our room had not only a fridge and microwave but also a small kitchenette! The staff is very pleasant and helpful. Cooked to order breakfast is very nice. This will probably remain our "go to" place when visiting family in Madison.
This hotel is very close to UW-Madison, a mall and numerous delicious restaurants and stores. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast includes a made-to-order hot item, so that is a nice treat! There is no pool, but there is a small exercise room with a TV. The lobby has a small business center. The only negative is that they advertise transportation within a 5-mile radius, but it really goes only to specific locations at certain times of the day, so to get to the UW campus you will need a car unless you want to use buses and/or taxis.
I really don't normally write bad reviews, and I don't enjoy writing them, but I hope the hotel reads this and can improve stays for future guests. First of all the pictures were deceiving - they made the place look brand new, but it was far from it. The bed sheets and blankets were very thin, and the pillows weren't great either - and because the heating controls didn't work (temperature didn't change at all, and the unit wouldn't stop blowing air constantly, plus when the heat did turn on it was very loud), we ended up being pretty cold and uncomfortable all night. In the morning, the cleaning people seemed to be up very early, and were vacuuming the next room and banging into the walls with the vacuum for what we both thought seemed like hours. And one final detail I noticed that didn't feel right was that in the tub I felt like my feet might just suddenly break through the bottom. I wish I could say differently, but for this stay I just didn't have the best experience. Thanks!
Just needed a convenient place close to family and this served us well at a good price. Safe neighborhood. Typical hotel room with mini kitchen. Comfortable bed. Slight twist on free breakfast, with choice of 4 different hot breakfast meals. Friendly staff. We would stay here again.
The cooked to order breakfast is a special treat. There are only a few items on the menu, but they are all much better than the usual "cook it yourself" items at other hotels. The staff is friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is near a mall and there are a number of restaurants and shops and a movie theater in the immediate area. We got an excellent rate for our 3 night stay and we will look here first the next time come to Madison.
H thotel was clean and had multiple dining options within walking distance (Denny's, Longhorn, Olive Garden, Culver's). Good hot basic breakfast. Breakfast and exercise room both clean and centrally located If you're visiting for Epic training, note that the hotel runs shuttle to and from Epic campus, but you need alternative transportation from the airport. The hotel overall was in excellent condition, and I thought the staff was friendly and helpful. One thing to know, for some reason Wisconsin as a whole is obsessed with cheese curds; you have been warned.
The hotel was easy to find, room was very clean. The breakfast was very good, I like having eggs made fresh to order. Coffee always available. The price was reasonable and the lobby was clean and inviting. Nice size TV in the room, and I like having a refrigerator in the room also.
Prepare to be underwhelmed by the customer service. We were in town for a sporting event and tried to check in at 1:00 PM, no dice. 3:00 PM is hard and fast check in time. Tried to get our two rooms adjoining (cuz we have small kids), no dice. The lobby has been recently renovated and looks very modern. Once we came back after 3:00 PM, we checked in and found the rooms to be average size and dated decor. Our 5 year old had a big alergic reaction from the comforter spread, it must have been really dusty. The beds are springy, sunken in the middle and are far from new. Bathrooms are small and very average. A lot of door slamming early in the morning --which was fine for us, we had to get up early too. The best part was the made-to-order breakfast that was included in the stay. The line was a little long, but the food was excellent. This hotel is pretty far from the UW campus, but if you have no other options, you'll survive.
The rooms were clean but need some minor updating. The bed was also comfortable. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. I refer to 'rooms' because I had to switch rooms due to the heater malfunctioning in my room the first night. I called the front desk to inform them of the situation. After waiting for over a 1/2 hour I went down to the front desk to see when they would be taking a look at it. The room temperature had dropped down to 51 by then. The gentleman at the front desk informed me that he had forgotten to call it in. By the time The maintenance guy had came to the room to fix it almost an hour had passed. I then had to wait almost another hour for him to attempt to repair the thermostat by tapping on it with his finger and staring at the vent. So in essence, it took them over 2 hours to get me to a new room. The room they moved me to was not the same type of room that I booked. I received no compensation for the room downgrade. If it wasn't for the lack of customer service then I would have rated this hotel much higher. That said, I would probably give this hotel one more chance.
This hotel is nice and clean. Breakfast was good. The only reason I am marking it down is because the staff does not read nor pay attention to contracts. My group of 31 rooms checked in and discovered the sales person had not passed instructions down the line. My check in was a mess, as was check out. Bottom line. Make sure you talk to them if it is a group and a specialized contract. Other than that. 5 stars.
We have stayed at this BW many times as it is close to our family in Madison. They upgraded us to a suite, as we are BW Rewards members. They have been doing renovation of entrance, lobby, and breakfast area and it is now complete and very nice. The cooked to order breakfast is great. WiFi is very fast. The room was very clean. We will continue to stay here when in Madison
Everyone was friendly, food was good and hotel very clean was in town with our pets for a family get togeather and the location was perfect. The young man that checked us in was extremely professional yet friendly.
Stayed News Years eve and have stayed at other hotels in the area of this one. We will stay again. It is an older hotel but they are renovating. We had a nice King suite that was roomy and clean. The cooked to order breakfast was wonderful. We love how quiet and peaceful this place was.
As of always choosing Best Western will always be my preference of stay where ever I go. West Towne Suites in Madison went out of their way to make sure my stay was exceptional. The choices for breakfast were fantastic and I would recommend this motel to anyone.
Stayed here for the first time via a Priceline "Express" deal (i.e., I didn't know the name of the hotel when I booked.). Overall the stay was comfortable and the room nice and place clean, but the place could use a customer service upgrade. The receptionist kept giving me this "we charge extra if you want two beds" line because I booked through Priceline -- then only when I didn't want to pay that did she "happen" to mention there's a pull out couch in the room (for my son who was with me). I had early-morning work to do and was seated at a table in the b-fast area and was told I needed to leave because they must "lock" the room when setting up b-fast. Really? What are they hiding? I was just sitting there. Not a place that will go the extra mile for guests, that's for sure.
Breakfast was wonderful, you could order what you wanted and they cooked it for you. the room was clean and a bit outdated but it was still nice. It was a good night sleep and peaceful. No swimming pool but that was okay.
This was a very nice and comfortable motel! Our room was awesome! We got a suite with kitchen for a ridiculously low price..under $100 ???? their made to order hot breakfast was amazing!! I would recommend this motel to everyone!!??
We were pleasantly surprised to find such a nicely appointed Best Western and will consider staying there again. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Shower did not have great pressure, but was adequate. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help. The hotel is located near West Towne Mall, so there was a good choice of restaurants in the area as well as the mall food court. We wanted to be in Middleton and this was ideal.
Hotel was very quiet, despite being right off of the highway. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The decor was outdated but they are going through a remodel which should remedy that. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good. I would stay here again.
Standard hotel, but Best Western level quality of services. Good option for the price. Convenient location, very close to the largest mall area in West Madison. Nice but standard room, very clean and roomy. Breakfast included, which is fine. Offers a gym all time open. Nice but small reception area. Looks like new or recently refurbished.
This hotel was very clean, and the breakfast in the morning was also good. The only problem we really had was the bathroom floor didn't seem to have been swept well (or at all) upon our arrival. It was very clean other than that, and the stay was great!
Staff is excellent and very helpful and professional Rooms neat, clean and adequate. Breakfast was good hot and tasty. The new décor was very bright light and upbeat. A great value and the place we stay when we come to Madison--within 10minutes of our family! Close to the University and Camp Randall. Close to shopping and great eating establishments are nearby.
Thought I made a reservation and forgot to click send! Classic dummy mistake, the staff was very accommodating checking the other hotels in the chain and found we had not made a rezzie anywhere. Although they were about full they were able to put us in a room that was very nice, although the last, is was not the least. The cooked to order breakfast was good and certainly a cut above for this type of hotel. The breakfast and common areas were very nice and have been recently redone, a good job. I will stay here again.
It is my understanding that this hotel has been remodeled in the past few months. The designers did a fabulous job! The lobby is very inviting, the breakfast area is lovely and the suite was fabulous. The whole experience was far better than I expected for the price.
Stayed two nights at this location. Hotel lobby and breakfast area just remodeled. Great made to order hot AM Breakfast. Rooms were comfortable and clean, and Staff was friendly. Numerous dining and shopping options nearby, and easy access to the Beltway around Maison. Would definitely stay again.
Worse hotel I've ever stayed at.. They have no pick up shuttle to or from airport. They rooms are stinky and old. This hotel is on the recommendation list for Epic headquarters and my employer and I recommended to both that they remove this awful hotel. The shuttle was so inconsistent with times. Dropped us off an hour before class and picked us up an hour after class was over. The hallways were extremely noisy at night. I opened by door one evening to ask the people across from me to stop slamming their door and they lady told me to get back in my room before she walked across the hall to smack me. Huge threat. Was the worse experience I've ever had anywhere. Will be staying at the Concourse downtown future trips.
The West Towne Suites offered a clean and pleasing environment. The breakfast area was recently remodeled and was efficient and well decorated. I enjoyed the made to order hot breakfast of french toast, hash-browns and sausage.
The hotel manager, Bernard, was awesome in accommodating our situation when we had to decrease from a 2 night to a one night stay. The rooms were comfortable. The construction outside the building presents significant parking issue. They are so welcoming for pets! The desk person checked us into a room that was still being made up so we had to wait about 10 minutes in the second floor waiting area outside the workout room - but we did not mind.
When we stayed there we had two rooms which were right across the hall from each other. The rooms were nice and clean. Our stay was relatively quiet. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was decent compared to some that I've experienced. About a month after my stay, I noticed charges on my credit card that should not have been there. One was for a bottle opener we had returned right away that they forgot to take off and another was a room charge for another guest who happened to have the same last name (no relation to me though). My card had accidentally gotten charged. When I called to question this, they said they'd look into finding the other person's credit information so they could take off the charge. It was eventually resolved but would have been nice to be told they would take the charge off right away as I didn't even know the person.
Best Western West Town Suites was fine. Currently going through remodel so a little dirty. Parking was restricted due to construction. Good breakfast options, bacon could have been crispier. Too many Hawkeye fans. On Wisconsin!
This hotel was under construction/ remodel. I realize that there are certain inconveniences, but there are "basics" that should not be compromised. There were NO parking spaces for us when we came in because the construction crews had "12" spaces occupied with construction materials and dumpsters. They could have put these things on the grass and certainly, if the hotel intended to continue booking to capacity, they should have made sure guests could park in THEIR parking lot, no around the corner. Also, it may be a non-smoking room, but it sure didn't smell that way. I'm a Best Western rewards member with over 5000 points in the past 9 months. This was not the equivilent to what I am accustom to for $159 a night....more like a $79 stay.
Even though this hotel is under renovation, it is a very nice hotel. The hotel was clean and located right off of the beltway and not too far from the University. We enjoyed the made to order breakfast. We would come back here.
